हम पिछले लेखों से देखते आ रहे हैं कि बालकों के समान अपरिपक्व मसीही विश्वासियों की एक पहचान यह भी है कि वे बहुत सरलता से भ्रामक शिक्षाओं द्वारा बहकाए तथा गलत बातों में भटकाए जाते हैं। इन भ्रामक शिक्षाओं को शैतान और उस के दूत झूठे प्रेरित, धर्म के सेवक, और ज्योतिर्मय स्‍वर्गदूतों का रूप धारण कर के बताते और सिखाते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15)। ये लोग, और उनकी शिक्षाएं, दोनों ही बहुत आकर्षक, रोचक, और ज्ञानवान, यहाँ तक कि भक्तिपूर्ण और श्रद्धापूर्ण भी प्रतीत हो सकती हैं, किन्तु साथ ही उनमें अवश्य ही बाइबल की बातों के अतिरिक्त भी बातें डली हुई होती हैं। जैसा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित पौलुस के द्वारा 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:4 में लिखवाया है, यदि कोई तुम्हारे पास आकर, किसी दूसरे यीशु को प्रचार करे, जिस का प्रचार हम ने नहीं किया: या कोई और आत्मा तुम्हें मिले; जो पहिले न मिला था; या और कोई सुसमाचार जिसे तुम ने पहिले न माना था, तो तुम्हारा सहना ठीक होता, इन भ्रामक शिक्षाओं और गलत उपदेशों के, मुख्यतः तीन विषय, होते हैं - प्रभु यीशु मसीह, पवित्र आत्मा, और सुसमाचार। साथ ही इस पद में सच्चाई को पहचानने और शैतान के झूठ से बचने के लिए एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात भी दी गई है, कि इन तीनों विषयों के बारे में जो यथार्थ और सत्य हैं, वे सब वचन में पहले से ही बता और लिखवा दिए गए हैं। इसलिए बाइबल से देखने, जाँचने, तथा वचन के आधार पर शिक्षाओं को परखने के द्वारा सही और गलत की पहचान करना कठिन नहीं है।

पिछले लेखों में हमने इन गलत शिक्षा देने वाले लोगों के द्वारा, प्रभु यीशु से संबंधित सिखाई जाने वाली गलत शिक्षाओं को देखने के बाद, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित सामान्यतः बताई और सिखाई जाने वाली गलत शिक्षाओं की वास्तविकता को वचन की बातों से देखना आरंभ किया है। हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रत्येक सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी के नया जन्म या उद्धार पाते ही, तुरंत उसके उद्धार पाने के पल से ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा अपनी संपूर्णता में आकर उसके अंदर निवास करने लगता है, और उसी में बना रहता है, उसे कभी छोड़ कर नहीं जाता है; और इसी को पवित्र आत्मा से भरना या पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा पाना भी कहते हैं। वचन स्पष्ट है कि पवित्र आत्मा से भरना या उससे बपतिस्मा पाना कोई दूसरा या अतिरिक्त अनुभव नहीं है, वरन उद्धार के साथ ही सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी में पवित्र आत्मा का आकर निवास करना ही है। इन गलत शिक्षकों की एक और बहुत प्रचलित और बल पूर्वक कही जाने वाले बात है “अन्य-भाषाओं” में बोलना, और उन लोगों के द्वारा “अन्य-भाषाओं” को अलौकिक भाषाएं बताना, और परमेश्वर के वचन के दुरुपयोग के द्वारा इससे संबंधित कई और गलत शिक्षाओं को सिखाना। इसके बारे में भी हम देख चुके हैं कि यह भी एक ऐसी गलत शिक्षा है जिसका वचन से कोई समर्थन या आधार नहीं है। प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में जो अन्य भाषाएं बोली गईं, वे पृथ्वी ही की भाषाएं और उनकी बोलियाँ थीं; कोई अलौकिक भाषा नहीं। हमने यह भी देखा था कि वचन में इस शिक्षा का भी कोई आधार या समर्थन नहीं है कि “अन्य-भाषाएं” प्रार्थना की भाषाएं हैं। इस गलत शिक्षा के साथ जुड़ी हुई इन लोगों की एक और गलत शिक्षा है कि “अन्य-भाषाएं” बोलना ही पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने का प्रमाण है, जिसके भी झूठ होने और परमेश्वर के वचन के दुरुपयोग पर आधारित होने को हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है। पिछले लेखों में हमने यह भी देखा था कि उन लोगों के सभी दावों के विपरीत, न तो प्रेरितों 2:3-11 का प्रभु के शिष्यों द्वारा अन्य-भाषाओं में बोलना कोई “सुनने” का आश्चर्यकर्म था; न ही अन्य भाषाएं प्रार्थना करने की गुप्त भाषाएँ हैं; और न ही ये पृथ्वी की ही अन्य स्थानों की भाषाएँ किसी को भी यूं ही दे दी जाती हैं, जब तक कि व्यक्ति की उस स्थान पर सेवकाई न हो, जहाँ की भाषा बोलने की सामर्थ्य उसे प्रदान की गई है। आज हम अन्य-भाषाएं बोलने से संबंधित कुछ अन्य गलत शिक्षाओं के बारे में देखेंगे। 

क्या अन्य-भाषा में बोलना परमेश्वर से सीधे बात करना है?

पवित्र आत्मा और अन्य-भाषा बोलने से संबंधित एक अन्य गलत और पूर्णतः निराधार एवं झूठी शिक्षा यह भी कही जाती है कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:2 के अनुसार, जो अन्य भाषा में बोलता है, वह मनुष्यों से नहीं, वरन सीधे परमेश्वर से बातें करता है। यह कहने के द्वारा वे न केवल यहाँ प्रयोग किए गए व्यंग्य या कटाक्ष की, ताना मारने की अनदेखी कर देते हैं, वरन वचन को उसके संदर्भ से बाहर लेकर गलत अर्थ देने के भी दोषी ठहरते हैं। हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि अन्य-भाषा बोलना भी परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा दिया जाने वाला एक आत्मिक वरदान है, जो अन्य आत्मिक वरदानों के समान हर किसी को नहीं दिया जाता है, वरन सभी को उनकी निर्धारित सेवकाई के अनुसार भिन्न-भिन्न वरदान दिए जाते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11, 29-30)। क्योंकि कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली के कुछ लोग भी मुँह से विचित्र निरर्थक ध्वनियाँ निकालने के द्वारा मण्डली के अन्य लोगों को अलौकिक भाषा बोलने के दावे के द्वारा प्रभावित करने में लगे हुए थे, इसीलिए पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस द्वारा उनकी इस बात पर ताना मारते हुए यह बात कही, जिसका सामान्य शब्दों में अभिप्राय है, “उन लोगों की ये इस प्रकार की ‘अन्य-भाषाएँ’ किसी मनुष्य की समझ में तो आती नहीं हैं; किसी को पता ही नहीं चलने पाता है कि वे क्या भेद की बातें बोल रहे हैं। वे तो अपने आप को सामान्य लोगों से उच्च और भिन्न स्तर का दिखते हैं, इसलिए मनुष्य नहीं संभवतः परमेश्वर ही समझ पाएगा कि वे क्या कह रहे हैं।” उनकी यह बात, यह दावा, किसी आत्मिक वरदान का व्यक्तिगत रीति से उपयोग, बिना उसके द्वारा कलीसिया की उन्नति अथवा किसी अन्य का लाभ हुए, आत्मिक वरदानों के औचित्य के बिलकुल विपरीत है (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7; 14:5, 12); परमेश्वर के वचन के विरुद्ध है।

उन लोगों द्वारा अलौकिक भाषाएं बोलने के दावे के संदर्भ में भी पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस प्रेरित के द्वारा लिखवा दिया, यदि मैं मनुष्यों, और स्वर्गदूतों की बोलियां बोलूं, और प्रेम न रखूं, तो मैं ठनठनाता हुआ पीतल, और झनझनाती हुई झांझ हूं (1 कुरिन्थियों 13:1)। अर्थात, परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में महत्व पृथ्वी की अथवा अलौकिक भाषा बोल पाने का नहीं है, महत्व प्रेम को दिखाने और मिल-जुल कर प्रेम से रहने का है; और इसके विषय वह 11 अध्याय में, प्रभु-भोज के दर्शन समझाते समय भी उन से कह चुका था, उनमें ऊँच-नीच और बड़े-छोटे होना दिखाने की प्रवृत्ति की भर्त्सना कर चुका था। इसी विचार को आगे बढ़ाते हुए, पौलुस इस पद में होकर इस बात पर बल दे रहा है कि महत्व साथ मिलकर प्रेम के साथ रहने का है, न कि “अन्य-भाषा” बोलने के द्वारा अपने आप को विशेष दिखाने और दूसरों पर अपने किसी रीति से बड़े होने को दिखाने का।

साथ ही इस बात पर भी ध्यान करें, कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:9 जो लिखा है, उसे ये गलत शिक्षाएं फैलाने वाले कभी सामने नहीं लाते हैं, कभी नहीं बताते हैं, क्योंकि यह पद उनके परमेश्वर से बातें करने के दावों की पोल खोल देता है। वहाँ लिखा है ऐसे ही तुम भी यदि जीभ से साफ साफ बातें न कहो, तो जो कुछ कहा जाता है वह क्योंकर समझा जाएगा? तुम तो हवा से बातें करने वाले ठहरोगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:9)। स्पष्ट है कि जो भी बोला जाए वह अस्पष्ट या समझा न जाने वाला नहीं होना चाहिए, वरन सुनने वालों (परमेश्वर नहीं, वरन सुनने वाले मनुष्यों) की समझ में आने वाली बात ही होनी चाहिए, जैसे प्रेरितों 2:3-11 में  थी - लोगों को समझ आ रहा था कि उनकी ही भाषाओं में कहा जा रहा है, परमेश्वर के बड़े-बड़े कामों की चर्चा की जा रही है। इस पद के अंत के वाक्य पर ध्यान कीजिए, “...तुम तो हवा से बातें करने वाले ठहरोगे।” यदि पद 2 में उन लोगों के द्वारा विचित्र और निरर्थक ध्वनियाँ निकालना परमेश्वर से बातें करना था, तो फिर यहाँ लिखी गई यह बात कैसे संभव है? पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में पौलुस प्रेरित यह बात कैसे लिख सकता है, क्योंकि यह तो परमेश्वर से बातें करने की बात के विपरीत और उसका अपमान करना है? या तो पद 2 में परमेश्वर से बात करना सही है, या फिर पद 9 में हवा से बातें करना सही है। दोनों तो एक साथ सही तब ही होंगे जब पद 2 की बात एक ताना है, और पद 9 की बात वास्तविकता है। अर्थात, स्वयं परमेश्वर के वचन ने ही तुरंत ही अपनी सही बात को सामने रख दिया है। और ये गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले इस पद की, तथा इस संदर्भ के परमेश्वर के वचन के अन्य हवालों की अनदेखी करके, केवल अपनी ही बात को सही दिखाने के मतलब से, परमेश्वर के वचन का दुरुपयोग करते हैं, परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करते हैं, परमेश्वर के नाम में झूठी शिक्षाएं और बातें सिखाते हैं।

अगले लेख से हम अन्य भाषाएं बोलने से संबंधित कुछ और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातों पर विचार करेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह जानना और समझना अति-आवश्यक है कि आप परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित इन गलत शिक्षाओं में न पड़ जाएं; न खुद भरमाए जाएं, और न ही आपके द्वारा कोई और भरमाया जाए। लोगों द्वारा कही जाने वाले ही नहीं, वरन वचन में लिखी हुई बातों पर भी ध्यान दें, और लोगों की बातों को वचन की बातों से मिला कर जाँचें और परखें। यदि आप इन गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ चुके हैं, तो अभी वचन के अध्ययन और बात को जाँच-परख कर, सही शिक्षा को, उसी के पालन को अपना लें।

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Speaking in “Tongues” is NOT Directly Speaking with God (1)

    We have been seeing in the previous articles that one of the ways the child-like, immature Christian Believers can be identified is that they can very easily be deceived, beguiled and misled by wrong doctrines and false teachings. Satan and his followers bring in their wrong doctrines and misinterpretations of God’s Word through people who masquerade as apostles, ministers of righteousness, and angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). These deceptive people and their false messages, their teachings appear to be very attractive, interesting, knowledgeable, even very reverential and righteous; but there is always something or the other that is extra-Biblical or unBiblical mixed into them. These wrong teachings and false doctrines are mainly about three topics, as God the Holy Spirit got it written down through the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted--you may well put up with it! - the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Gospel. In this verse a very important way to identify the false and the correct, discern between them, and escape from being beguiled by Satan is also given - that which is the truth about these three topics has already been given and written in God’s Word. Therefore, by cross-checking every teaching and doctrine from the Bible, the true and the false can be discerned; that which is not already present in God’s Word is false, and their preacher is a preacher of satanic deceptions.

    In the previous articles, after seeing some commonly preached and taught false things about the Lord Jesus, we had started to look into the wrong things often taught and preached about the Holy Spirit. About the Holy Spirit, we have seen that every truly Born-Again Christian Believer automatically receives the Holy Spirit from God, at the very moment of his being saved. From that moment onwards, the Holy Spirit comes to reside in him in all His fullness, stays with him forever, never leaves him; and Biblically this is also known as being filled by the Holy Spirit or the baptism with the Holy Spirit. Another very popular and emphatically stated wrong teaching of these preachers and teachers of deceptions is about “speaking in tongues”, their claim that the “tongues’ are super-natural languages, and some other related wrong teachings. Regarding this we have seen that these are also wrong teachings which have no support or affirmation from the Bible. The speaking in “tongues” in Acts 2 were the known and understood languages of the earth and not any super-natural languages. We also saw that quite unlike their claims, “tongues” are not any “prayer language” - the Bible does not offer any support to this; and we also saw how their emphatic claim that speaking in tongues is proof of receiving the Holy Spirit is also patently false and unBiblical; it is their concocted doctrine through misuse and misinterpretation of Biblical facts. In the previous articles we had also seen that contrary to their claims, neither was the speaking in other languages by the disciples of Lord Jesus, as given in Acts 2:3-11 was a 'miracle of hearing'; nor are "tongues" meant to be a secret prayer language; and, nor are they languages of other regions of the earth that have casually been given, unless the person has a ministry in that region whose language he has been given. Today we will look at another commonly preached false teaching, that “speaking in tongues” is having a direct conversation with God.

Is “speaking in tongues” speaking directly with God?

    Another false claim, that these people preaching and teaching the wrong doctrines and false teachings about the Holy Spirit make is that speaking in "tongues" is speaking directly with God. They make this claim based on 1 Corinthians 14:2, that a person speaking in tongues speaks not to men, but directly with God. By making this claim they not only overlook the sarcasm used here by Paul to put them in their place, but by taking this verse out of its context and misinterpreting it, they also make themselves guilty of misusing God’s Word. We have seen before that speaking in “tongues”, i.e., known earthly languages, is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit; and as with the other gifts, this gift too is not given to everyone, but everyone is given the gift necessary for their ministry (1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 29-30). Because some people in the Church at Corinth were making these unintelligible sounds from their mouths, and trying to impress people that they have been given the gift of speaking a super-natural language, therefore, through the Apostle Paul, God the Holy Spirit admonished them sarcastically, and had this written. The simple straightforward meaning of this sarcastic sentence, this figure of speech is “the gibberish they speak as “tongues” is not understood by any man; nobody can understand the mysterious things they are speaking. Since they claim to be speaking through the spirit, and no man can understand them, then maybe it is only God who can understand what they are saying.” This whole thing, the use of a spiritual gift personally, but not edifying the Church and not benefiting others, is so contrary to the purpose of all Spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7; 14:5, 12); it contradicts God’s Word.

    With regard to their claim of speaking in extra-terrestrial languages, the Holy Spirit through Paul had already got it written, Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal (1 Corinthians 13:1). Thereby implying that in God’s eyes, what matters is His people exhibiting love and living together in fellowship with love; and their being able to speak in some earthly or extra-terrestrial language is unimportant. Recall that in 1 Corinthians chapter 11, while explaining to them about the Lord’s Supper or the Holy Communion, Paul through the Holy Spirit had spoken to them about the necessity of this love and fellowship and had severely admonished them for their tendency of trying to be superior and more important while showing others as inferior and of lesser importance. Continuing the same thought, in this verse too Paul emphasizes upon living together in love rather than trying to show-off through speaking in “tongues”, and falsely impress upon others their having a seemingly superior and more impressive gift.

    Also take note of what is written in 1 Corinthians 14:9 - something that these preachers and teachers of wrong doctrines and false teachings never bring up or talk about, because this verse lays bare and exposes their false claims about their speaking with God, So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air (1 Corinthians 14:9). This verse makes it very clear that whatever is spoken has to be in a manner that is easy to understand, so that the people (not God, but people) hearing will be able to know what is being talked about; as happened in Acts 2:3-11 - the people who were listening the disciple’s speaking in tongues understood in their languages that the disciples were talking about the wonderful works of God. Take note of the last phrase of this verse, “...For you will be speaking into the air.” Now, if 1 Corinthians 14:2 is about talking directly with God, then how can this be said? How could it even have been written, and that to through the Holy Spirit, for, writing this is insulting God, instead of affirming speaking directly with God? Because, through “speaking in tongues” either speaking to God directly of verse 2 is correct, or speaking into the air of verse 9 is correct; both cannot be correct, unless verse 2 is a sarcastic admonition and verse 9 is the reality. In other words, God Himself has put before us the truth, so that there is no confusion or misunderstanding. But these preachers and teachers of falsehood, deliberately ignore and overlook the context, the related verses, the other related passages from God’s Word, and misinterpret, misuse, misapply God’s Word, just to falsely preach and teach their wrong doctrines and contrived teachings. They corrupt God’s Word by mixing in things of their own thinking, and teach false things in the name of God.

    In the next article we will look at some other important truths about speaking in “tongues” given in 1 Corinthians 13 and 14 chapters. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is very essential for you to know and learn that you do not get beguiled and misled into wrong teachings and doctrines about the Holy Spirit; neither should you get deceived, nor should anyone else be deceived through you. Take note of the things written in God’s Word, not on things spoken by the people; always cross-check and verify all messages and teachings from the Word of God. If you have already been entangled in wrong teachings, then by cross-checking and verifying them from the Word of God, hold to only that which is the truth, follow it, and reject the rest.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

मसीही विश्वासी की बढ़ोतरी और कलीसिया की उन्नति के लिए, परमेश्वर के लोगों को परमेश्वर के वचन में दिए गए निर्देशों का पालन करना है। प्रेरितों 2 तथा 15 अध्याय में व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने से संबंधित कुछ शिक्षाएं दी गई हैं। पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई चार शिक्षाओं पर विचार कर रहे हैं जिन्हें “मसीही विश्वास के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है। इन चारों में से पहले स्तम्भ - यत्न से और लौलीन होकर परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करना को देखने के बाद अब हम दूसरे स्तम्भ, यत्न से और लौलीन होकर संगति रखना के बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन से सीख रहे हैं। अभी तक हमने इस विषय पर जो कुछ सीखा है, आज उसकी समीक्षा करने के बाद, अगले लेख से हम तीसरे स्तम्भ, “रोटी तोड़ना” या प्रभु-भोज के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा परस्पर संगति करने तथा संगति को बनाए रखने के बारे में, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से अभी तक हम देख चुके हैं कि:

 

संगति रखना नए नियम में दी गई कोई नई धारणा नहीं है, वरन मनुष्य की सृष्टि के समय से ही यह परमेश्वर की इच्छा रही है। परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को अपने स्वरूप में इसी लिया सृजा, कि उसके साथ संगति रख सके; और इसी संगति के लिए परमेश्वर अदन की वाटिका में मनुष्य से मिलने आया करता था।

 

परमेश्वर की मूल योजना में, मनुष्य को दो आयामों में संगति रखनी थी - आत्मिक और शारीरिक। मनुष्य की पहली या आत्मिक संगति परमेश्वर के साथ, और दूसरी यानि शारीरिक संगति अन्य मनुष्यों के साथ रहनी थी। मनुष्य की अनाज्ञाकारिता से सृष्टि में पाप के प्रवेश और उसके दुष्प्रभावों के कारण परमेश्वर और मनुष्य की संगति टूट गई, तथा मनुष्य की मनुष्य के साथ संगति की मनोहरता और सामंजस्य बाधित हो गए।

  

परमेश्वर के साथ संगति में बहाल हुए बिना, मनुष्यों औरों के साथ भी सही संगति बना कर नहीं रख सकता है; किन्तु यदि परमेश्वर के साथ संगति सही हो तो फिर मनुष्यों के साथ सही संगति रखना भी सहज हो जाता है।

आज भी प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए उन्हीं दो मूल आयामों में संगति रखना अनिवार्य है - पहले आत्मिक रीति से परमेश्वर के साथ; और दूसरे शारीरिक रीति से, अन्य मनुष्यों, अर्थात परिवार के, पड़ोस के, समाज के लोगों के साथ; दोनों तरह की संगति के अपने-अपने महत्व और आवश्यकताएं हैं।

 

संगति में बिगाड़ या बाधा का मूल कारण पाप है; जहाँ पाप होगा वहाँ संगति भी नहीं रहेगी, न तो परमेश्वर के साथ, और न ही मनुष्यों के साथ। पाप के निवारण के साथ दोनों आयामों में संगति की बहाली भी हो जाती है।

 

मसीही विश्वास में संगति का आधारभूत स्वरूप परिवार और पारिवारिक सम्बन्ध हैं। जब हम उद्धार पाते हैं और परमेश्वर के साथ संगति में बहाल होते हैं, तो उसके परिवार के सदस्य बन जाते हैं। यह हमें अन्य मसीही विश्वासियों के साथ इस पृथ्वी पर भी एक सार्वभौमिक, विश्वव्यापी मसीही परिवार का सदस्य बना देता है, जिस में सभी समान स्तर के हैं, प्रभु यीशु के भाई-बहन हैं। और इससे परस्पर मतभेद और विरोध का, किसी भी प्रकार के ऊँच-नीच का, किसी भी संघर्ष का आधार ही समाप्त हो जाता है और मेल-मिलाप के साथ रहना सहज हो जाता है।

 

मसीही विश्वासियों और कलीसिया के लिए, इस संगति में एक अद्भुत सामर्थ्य है। जहाँ मसीही विश्वासियों की परस्पर संगति सही है, उनमें एक-मनता है, वहाँ उनके मध्य में प्रभु की उपस्थिति है, और फिर उनमें होकर प्रभु की सामर्थ्य काम करती है; जो शैतान और उसकी योजनाओं के लिए घातक है।

 

इसीलिए शैतान इस प्रकार की संगति को बने नहीं रहने देना चाहता है। इस सामर्थी संगति के दोनों आयामों को तोड़ने, बिगाड़ने के लिए वह उसी उपाय को उपयोग करता है, जिसे उसने अदन की वाटिका में संगति तोड़ने के लिए किया था - पाप में गिराना; क्योंकि जहाँ पाप होगा, वहाँ संगति नहीं होगी।

 

अपनी इस योजना को सफलता-पूर्वक कार्यान्वित करने के लिए, शैतान को मसीही विश्वासियों को किसी घोर या जघन्य पाप में फँसाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। वह एक बहुत साधारण और महत्वहीन दिखने वाली बात के द्वारा ही अपने उद्देश्य को पूरा कर लेता है। आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी प्रेरितों 2:42 की जिन चार बातों में लौलीन रहा करते थे, आज सामान्यतः उन्हें मात्र एक औपचारिकता के समान पूरा किया जाता है। समझौते और औपचारिकता के इस अप्रत्यक्ष पाप ने मसीही विश्वासियों को उनकी ईश्वरीय सामर्थ्य के स्त्रोत से दूर कर दिया है।

 

व्यवसाय या काम की, पारिवारिक जिम्मेदारियों के निर्वाह की, सामाजिक औपचारिकताओं के निर्वाह की, और इसी प्रकार की अनेकों प्रकार की बातों की ‘व्यस्तता’ और उन के कारण शारीरिक एवं मानसिक थकान होने की भावना को मनों में डालकर, शैतान मसीही विश्वासी को बहका कर उसे परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के साथ समय बिताने से दूर; किन्तु संसार के मनोरंजन के साधनों - टीवी, इंटरनेट, फोन के उपयोग आदि के साथ समय बिताने में फंसा देता है। लोग सोचते हैं कि इन माध्यमों के द्वारा वे आराम कर रहे हैं, तनाव को कम कर रहे हैं; किन्तु वास्तव में ये समय को खराब और तनाव को बढ़ाने के, और सँसार तथा सँसार की बातों को मसीही विश्वासियों के जीवनों और परिवारों में घुसाने के तरीके हैं। शैतान ने इन माध्यमों के द्वारा लोगों की प्राथमिकताओं को परमेश्वर और उसके वचन से हटाकर संसार और संसार की बातों के निर्वाह पर लगा दिया है।

 

परिणामस्वरूप, मसीही विश्वासी बड़ी आसानी से सांसारिकता, संसार, और संसार के लोगों के साथ समझौते कर लेते है, उन्हीं के समान व्यवहार करने लगते हैं, उन्हें ही प्राथमिकता और महत्व देने लगते हैं। अपने विवेक को शान्त करने के लिए मण्डली आने, प्रार्थना और आराधना करने, वचन का कोई छोटा सा भाग पढ़ लेने, आदि गतिविधियों की औपचारिकताओं को तो निभाते हैं, किन्तु वास्तव में और मन से वह परमेश्वर, परिवार, तथा मण्डली की संगति से अलग हो जाते हैं।

शैतान के लिए इतना ही पर्याप्त है; अब ऐसे मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर और मनुष्यों, दोनों आयामों की संगति से दूर हैं। अब संगति से उन्हें मिलने वाली उन की सामर्थ्य जाती रही है, और अब वे परमेश्वर के कार्यों में उपयोग नहीं हो सकते हैं। इसलिए अब शैतान को उन से खतरा नहीं रहा, बल्कि उन्हें उदाहरण बनाकर वह औरों को भी अपनी युक्तियों में फँसाने के लिए बहकाता और भरमाता है, तथा ऐसे मसीही विश्वासियों में होकर वह परमेश्वर का, उसके वचन का, और उस में विश्वास करने का ठट्ठा भी उड़ाता है।

 

मसीही विश्वासी की इस दुर्गति का एक ही समाधान है, पश्चाताप के साथ परमेश्वर के पास लौट आए, अपनी प्राथमिकताओं को ठीक करके, अपने जीवन में परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के प्राथमिक स्थान को बहाल करे, और परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में अपनी जिम्मेदारियों का निर्वाह, और समय का सदुपयोग करना सीखे।

 

अगले लेख से हम प्रेरितों 2:42 में दिए गए तीसरे स्तम्भ, “रोटी तोड़ना” या प्रभु-भोज में सम्मिलित होने के बारे में विचार करना आरम्भ करेंगे।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 2 - Fellowship (7)

For the spiritual growth of the Christian Believers and the edification of the church, God's people are to follow the instructions given in God's Word. Acts chapters 2 and 15 provide some teachings related to practical Christian living. Over the past few articles, we have been considering four teachings given in Acts 2:42, also known as “the pillars of the Christian faith.” Having considered the first of these four pillars i.e., studying God's Word steadfastly and diligently, we are now learning from God's Word about the second pillar, i.e., steadfastly and diligently keeping fellowship. Today we will review what we have learned on this subject so far; then from the next article we will begin to look at the third pillar, the “breaking of bread” or the Lord's Supper.

About the Christian Believers being in and maintaining fellowship, we have seen so far from God's Word, the Bible that:

Keeping fellowship is not a new concept given in the New Testament, but it has been God's desire since the creation of man. God created man in His image so that He could have fellowship with him; And for having this fellowship, God used to come to meet man in the Garden of Eden.

In the original plan of God, man was to have fellowship in two dimensions—spiritual and physical. Man’s first or spiritual fellowship was to be with God, and his second or physical fellowship was to be with other humans. Due to man's disobedience, sin entered creation and its deleterious effects caused the fellowship between God and man to be broken, and the beauty and harmony of man's fellowship with man was disrupted.

Without being restored to fellowship with God, men cannot maintain true fellowship with others either; But if we have the right fellowship with God, then it becomes easy to have the right fellowship with people too.

Even today, it is essential for every Christian to have fellowship in the same two basic dimensions – first, spiritually with God; And second, physically, with other people, i.e. people from family, neighborhood, society; Both types of fellowships have their own importance and requirements.

The root cause of loss or hindrance in fellowship is sin; Where there is sin there will be no fellowship, neither with God nor with men. With the remission of sin comes the restoration of fellowship in both dimensions.

The basic form of fellowship in the Christian faith, is family and the family relationships. When we are saved and restored to fellowship with God, we become members of His family. This makes us, along with other Christians on earth, a part of the universal, worldwide Christian family in which all are equal, as brothers and sisters of the Lord Jesus. And because of this, the basis of mutual differences and opposition, any kind of discrimination, any conflict gets eliminated and it becomes easy to live in harmony.

For Christians and the church, there is a wonderful power in this fellowship. When Christians have good fellowship with each other, they will also be in unity, the Lord’s presence will be amongst them, and then the power of the Lord will work through them; which is detrimental for Satan and his plans.

That is why Satan does not want such fellowship to continue. To break and distort both dimensions of this powerful fellowship, He uses the same ploy that He used to break the fellowship in the Garden of Eden – fall into committing sin; Because where there is sin, there will be no fellowship.

To successfully carry out his plan, Satan does not need to entice Christians into committing any grave or heinous sin. He accomplishes his purpose through a very simple and seemingly insignificant thing. The four points of Acts 2:42 that the early Christians were engaged in steadfastly, are today generally observed and fulfilled merely as a formality. This non-apparent sin of compromise and formality has distanced the Christian Believers from their source of divine power.

By instilling in their minds, the feeling of being 'busy' because of things like business or work, of fulfilling family responsibilities, of fulfilling social obligations, and of being occupied with many other such things, resulting in physical and mental fatigue, Satan lures the Christian Believers away from spending time with God and His Word; instead traps them in spending time with the world's means of entertainment - TV, Internet, use of phone etc. People think that through these mediums they are relaxing, reducing their stress; but in reality these are ways to waste time and increase stress, the means through which the world and the things of the world are brought into the life and families of the Christian Believers. Through these means, Satan has shifted people's priorities away from God and His Word and toward the world and the things of the world.

As a result, Christians easily compromise with worldliness, with the things of the world, and with the people of the world, giving them priority and importance. To calm their conscience, they may go through the formalities of attending church, of praying and worshiping, of reading a small portion of the Word, etc., but in reality, and in their hearts, they have become separated from God, God’s family, and fellowship with the congregation.

That is all that Satan needs; now such Christian Believers are far from fellowship with both God and man. Now the strength they received from fellowship has been lost, and they can no longer be used effectively in the work of God. Therefore, Satan is no longer in any danger from them; but by using them as an example, he induces and misleads others to also fall into his schemes, and through such Christian Believers, he mocks God, His Word, and faith in Him.

The Christian Believer has only one solution to this predicament, i.e., return to God in repentance, get his priorities right, restore the primary place of God and His Word in his life; and under the leading of God's Holy Spirit, learn to live up to his responsibilities, and make good use of time.

From the next article, we will start considering the third pillar given in Acts 2:42, i.e., “breaking of bread” or participating in the Lord’s Table.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    एक स्थिर विश्वास बनाए रखने के लिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के सम्पूर्ण वचन को सीखना और जानना चाहिए। बाइबल की तीन प्रकार की शिक्षाएँ है जो मौलिक हैं, जिन से एक दृढ़ नींव मिलती है जिस पर मसीही विश्वास को बनाया और बढ़ाया जा सके, तथा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उन्हें जानना चाहिए। ये तीन हैं, सुसमाचार से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएँ, जिन्हें हम देख चुके हैं; इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में उल्लेखित छः आरम्भिक शिक्षाएँ, जिन्हें हम देख रहे हैं और वर्तमान में उनमें से दूसरी, “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” के बारे में सीख रहे हैं; और व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएँ, जिन्हें हम आने वाले समय में, आरम्भिक शिक्षाओं के बाद सीखेंगे। किसी में भी विश्वास रखने के लिए, हमें उस व्यक्ति के बारे मैं, उसके गुणों, विशेषताओं, और चरित्र के बारे में जानना आवश्यक है; और यही बात परमेश्वर पर विश्वास रखने पर लागू होती है। हम देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर ने एक खुला निमंत्रण छोड़ा हुआ है कि लोग आएँ और परख कर देखें कि वह कितना भला है (भजन 34:8)। दूसरी आरम्भिक बात, अर्थात “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करना” के बारे में सीखते हुए हम परमेश्वर के गुणों और विशेषताओं को देख रहे हैं, विशेषकर उनके बारे में जो कलीसियाओं में बहुधा बताए और सिखाए नहीं जाते हैं। परन्तु प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उनके बारे में जानना चाहिए। जब विश्वासी उन गुणों और उनके अभिप्रायों के बारे में सीखेंगे, तो परमेश्वर पर विश्वास रखने के बारे में उन्हें एक दृढ़ नींव मिलेगी। आज हम परमेश्वर के एक ऐसे ही गुण के बारे में देखेंगे जिसके बारे में शायद ही कभी कहा या सिखाया जाता है, अर्थात, परमेश्वर के जलन रखने के बारे में।

    इसे ध्यान में रखते हुए अब हम परमेश्वर के जलन रखने के बारे में विचार कर सकते हैं। हमारी सामान्य प्रवृत्ति जलन रखने को एक नकारात्मक रीति से, एक बुराई के रूप में देखने की होती है, क्योंकि हमारे प्रतिदिन के जीवन में हम इसे इसी प्रकार से देखते और अनुभव करते हैं। किन्तु मूल इब्रानी भाषा में परमेश्वर के जलन रखने के लिए यह इस तरह से उपयोग नहीं किया गया है। मूल यूनानी भाषा में, जिस में नया नियम लिखा गया है, जिस शब्द का अनुवाद ‘जलन रखना’ किया गया है, उस शब्द का शब्दार्थ है “उकसाना या उत्तेजित करना; अर्थात, प्रतिद्वंद्वी होने के लिए उभारना।” अर्थात प्रभु को रीस दिलाने या जलन दिलाने से तात्पर्य है कि उसे उसके अधिकार या स्वामित्व को जताने के लिए उभारना अथवा उत्तेजित करना। प्रभु अपने विश्वासियों से, अपनी सन्तानों से असीम प्रेम करता है; इतना कि उन्हें छुड़ा लेने और उन के साथ मेल-मिलाप करवाने के लिए उसने अपने एकलौते पौत्र को भी दे दिया (यूहन्ना 3:16; रोमियों 5:1, 11); वह उनमें पवित्र आत्मा के रूप में निवास करता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19); और प्रभु ने अपने आज्ञाकारी स्‍वर्गदूतों को उनकी सेवा-टहल करने वाली आत्माएँ बना दिया है (इब्रानियों 1:14)। अब प्रत्युत्तर में वह यही चाहता है कि उसके लोग उस से, और केवल उसी से प्रेम रखें (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15); प्रभु के प्रति उनके प्रेम को किसी अन्य के साथ विभाजित न करें, और प्रभु को ऐसे ही हल्के में न लें, प्रभु को अनेकों में से एक ईश्वर न समझें (व्यवस्थाविवरण 32:16, 21; भजन 78:58)।

    यह और भी स्पष्ट तथा उचित तब हो जाता है जब हम इस बात पर मनन करें और एहसास करें कि समस्त सृष्टि में केवल दो ही ‘शक्तियाँ’ हैं; एक सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर है (जो वास्तव में एकमात्र शक्ति है), जो इस सृष्टि का स्वामी है, और उसके साथ उसके स्वर्गदूत हैं। और दूसरी ‘शक्ति’ शैतान है, जो एक बलवाई स्वर्गदूत है, और उसके साथ उसके दूत हैं। शैतान और उसके दूत या लोग, सभी परमेश्वर के बैरी, विरोधी, प्रतिस्पर्धी हैं, जो उनका समय पूरा होने पर हटा दिए जाएँगे और अनन्तकाल के नरक में डाल दिए जाएँगे (मत्ती 8:29)। इनके अतिरिक्त कोई अन्य शक्ति अथवा शक्ति का स्त्रोत नहीं है; और हर जन या तो परमेश्वर के साथ सम्बन्धित है, अन्यथा वह स्वतः ही परमेश्वर के बैरी और प्रतिस्पर्धी शैतान और उसके लोगों के साथ सम्बन्धित है; इसलिए जो परमेश्वर का अनुयायी नहीं है, वह अपने आप ही शैतान का अनुयायी है। इसलिए यदि कोई, विशेषतः परमेश्वर की कोई सन्तान, अर्थात मसीही विश्वासी, यदि अपने प्रेम, लगन, और ध्यान को परमेश्वर के अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य के साथ जो परमेश्वर की ओर से या परमेश्वर के द्वारा नहीं है, बाँटना चाहता है, उस के साथ सम्बन्धित होना चाहता है, तो फिर स्वाभाविक है कि वह या तो शैतान या किसी शैतानी जन के साथ ही होगा। और ऐसे में इस में कोई अचरज की बात नहीं है, वरन साधारण सी बात है कि यह परमेश्वर को न केवल अस्वीकार्य, वरन उसे बुरा लगने वाला होगा; और फिर वह इसी के अनुसार प्रतिक्रिया देगा। यदि मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर की चेतावनियों और डाँट-फटकार से नहीं संभालेगा और सुधरेगा, पूरे मन से परमेश्वर की ओर लौटकर नहीं आएगा, तो फिर उसे लौटा लाने के लिए परमेश्वर को उसके प्रति कठोर होना पड़ेगा, कि वह विश्वासी लौट कर आ जाए; लेकिन परमेश्वर उसे बुराई या गलती में बने नहीं रहने देगा।

    इसे एक पारिवारिक स्थिति के समान देखिए और समझिए, जहाँ जब कोई बच्चा माता-पिता के प्रति अनाज्ञाकारी रहता है, सुधरता नहीं है, उसे दिए गए निर्देशों के विपरीत व्यवहार में बना ही रहता है और उसके कारण परिवार का नाम खराब हो रहा है। यदि ऐसी कोई सन्तान माता-पिता की मौखिक डाँट-फटकार से नहीं मानता है, तब अपनी सन्तान के प्रति उनके प्रेम के कारण, और उसे भविष्य में किसी हानि में पड़ने से बचाने के लिए, माता-पिता को कठोरता से काम लेना पड़ता है, उसकी ताड़ना करनी पड़ती है। उनका ताड़ना करना, उस बच्चे के प्रति उनके प्रेम, उस पर उनके अधिकार का सूचक है, और बच्चे को वापस परिवार की सुरक्षा और देखभाल में लौटा लाने के लिए है, जैसा कि इब्रानियों 12:5-11 में भी लिखा है। इसी प्रकार से, परमेश्वर का जलन रखना वह नकारात्मक, बुराई वाली, जलन रखने की साँसारिक प्रवृत्ति नहीं है, वरन यह प्रेम रखने और देखभाल करने की एक अभिव्यक्ति है, ताकि वह अपने लोगों को शैतान की युक्तियों से सुरक्षित रखे। अब हम समझ सकते हैं कि बाइबल में परमेश्वर के संदर्भ में वाक्यांश “जलन रखने” से अभिप्राय है परमेश्वर का अपनी अमूल्य संपत्ति या अधिकार के प्रति, उसकी सन्तानों के प्रति सुरक्षा रखने और देखभाल करने के लिए उभारा जाना, और परमेश्वर की भटकी हुई सन्तान को वापस परमेश्वर के पास लौटा लाने के लिए जो भी आवश्यक हो वह करना। चाहे ऐसा करना अभी उस सन्तान को कठोर और दुखदायी लगे, किन्तु अनन्तकालीन दृष्टिकोण से यह करना आवश्यक और लाभकारी है (1 कुरिन्थियों 5:5)।

    इसलिए, परमेश्वर का जलन रखना वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को आश्वस्त करता है कि वह परमेश्वर के हाथों में सुरक्षित और सकुशल है; कोई भी उसे परमेश्वर के हाथों में से ले जा नहीं सकता है। यदि आवश्यक होगा तो परमेश्वर अपनी सन्तान के साथ दृढ़ता या कठोरता से भी व्यवहार करेगा, उसकी ताड़ना भी करेगा, किन्तु शैतान को कभी भी उसे अनन्त विनाश में ले जाने नहीं देगा। हमने जो परमेश्वर के विभिन्न गुण, विशेषताएँ, और चरित्र सम्बन्धी बातें देखी हैं और उन पर विचार किया है, वे सभी हमें आश्वस्त करती हैं कि हम निःसंकोच और निश्चिन्त होकर “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” कर सकते हैं। अगले लेख से हम इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में उल्लेखित आरम्भिक बातों में से तीसरी, “बपतिस्मों” पर विचार करना आरंभ करेंगे।  

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Faith Towards God - 8

 

    To have a firm faith, every Christian Believer needs to study and learn the whole of God’s Word. There are three kinds of Biblical teachings that are the basic, and provide a stable foundation to build and grow in Christian faith, and every Believer should know them. These three are, teachings related to the gospel, which we have already seen; teachings about the six elementary principles mentioned in Hebrews 6:1-2, of which we are presently learning the second principle, i.e., “Faith Towards God;” and teachings related to Christian behavior, which we will see after completing learning about the elementary principles. To have faith in anyone, we need to know about that person, his attributes, characteristics, and character; the same applies about having faith in God. We have seen that God has left an open invitation for people to come and see that He is good (Psalm 34:8). Learning about the second elementary principle, i.e., having “Faith Towards God” we are considering God’s the attributes and characteristics, particularly those that are usually not taught or talked about in the churches. But every Christian Believer should know about. When Believers learn those attributes and their implications, they are provided a firm foundation to have Faith Towards God. Today we will be considering another such rarely talked about or taught attribute, i.e., the jealousy of God.

    God’s Word the Bible teaches that God is a jealous God (Exodus 20:5; 34:14; Joshua 24:19). To understand God acting in jealousy, we need to bear in mind another of God’s attributes that God is very possessive of those who are His, and never lets them go or be taken away from His hands at any cost (John 10:28-29). He never ever forsakes them for whatever reason (Hebrews 13:5), and therefore, the Believers never lose their salvation because of their wayward living and disobedience. But God does not condone such unchristian behavior, and for their waywardness, the people of God are chastised by God, even severely if it so required; but God never discards them, casts them away from Himself. Those who are God’s people, they not only are His children, His family, they are His precious possession also. He is very possessive about them. He will chasten them for their being wayward, for compromising with the world, and succumbing to the temptations brought by the devil instead of standing firm in faith, and if it is required, He will even chasten severely - as we see from the history of Israel; but God will never ever let anyone take those who are His, away from Him. Once a child of God, once a part of His family, always, for eternity a child of God and a member of His family. Although the Bible is very clear about it, and there are no examples of anyone ever losing their salvation because of their wayward life, but still, Satan has driven this misconception very firmly into many people’s minds and misled them into believing that salvation can be lost if it is not maintained by good works. The Biblical fact is that the saved person can be, and will be chastened, and may even enter heaven without any rewards because of his wayward life (1 Corinthians 3:13-15), but he will never lose his salvation.

    With this in mind, we can now look at what God’s being jealous means. Our normal tendency is to think of jealousy as a negative trait, as something wrong, since that is how we see and experience this feeling in our day-to-day lives. But that is not how this word has been used for God in the original Greek language, in which the New Testament is written. The word in the Greek language, that has been translated as jealousy in English literally means “to stimulate alongside, i.e., excite to rivalry.” Therefore, to provoke the Lord to jealousy implies to stimulate Him or provoke Him to act out of His possessiveness. The Lord loves His Believers, His children, immeasurably; so much, that He gave His only begotten Son to redeem them and to have them reconciled with Him (John 3:16; Romans 5:1, 11), He lives within them as the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), and has made His angels their ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14). In return, He expects them to love Him, and Him alone (2 Corinthians 5:15); to not divide their love and affections for Him with others, and not treat Him casually as one of the many whom His people love (Deuteronomy 32:16, 21; Psalm 78:58).

    This becomes clearer and justifiable when we ponder and realize that there are only two ‘powers’ in this universe; one is God (actually, the one and only power), the creator and owner of this universe, and He has His angels. And the other is Satan, the rebellious angel, and his followers. Satan and his followers are all the rivals and enemies of God, who, when their time is completed, will finally be taken away and cast into everlasting hell (Matthew 8:29). There is no other power or source of any power, other than these two, and everyone is either associated with God, or else is automatically associated with God’s enemy and rival, Satan i.e., every person, can either be associated and joined with God, or with Satan and be his follower. So, if anyone, particularly a child of God, i.e., a Christian Believer, desires to share his love and affection, or associate with anyone other than God or anything that is not from God, then he can only be sharing or associating it, with Satan or with someone associated with Satan and satanic things. This quite naturally will not only be unacceptable, but even abhorrent to God; and He will act accordingly. If the Christian Believer does not respond to God’s cautions and admonitions, does not mend his ways and turn back to God whole-heartedly, then God will have to be harsh with him to turn the Believer back to Him; but God will not leave Him in his error or bad behavior.

    Think of it as a family-situation where a child is being disobedient to parents, is not mending his ways, persists in living contrary to the instructions given to him, and is sullying the name of the family because of his life and behavior. If such a child does not listen to verbal cautions and admonitions, from the parents, then out of their love for the child and to safeguard him from future severe harm and harsh consequences, they have to act firmly, and resort to chastising him. Their chastisement is an act of love, is because of their being possessive of him, and to draw the child back into the safety and care of the family. God has said the same in Hebrews 12:5-11. So, the Lord’s jealousy is not the jealousy in the negative and worldly sense, but is an act of His love and care, to keep His people safe from the wiles of the devil. Now we can understand that the term “provoke to jealousy” implies, to be stimulated to act for the protection and care of someone who is God’s precious possession, the children of God, and to do whatever needs to be done to bring God’s wayward child back into God’s fold. Even if it is hurting and painful for God’s child for now, but it is beneficial from the eternal perspective (1 Corinthians 5:5).

    So, God’s jealousy assures every truly Born-Again Christian Believer that he is safe and secure in the hands of God; nothing can take him away from God. If required, God will deal firmly with His child or chastise him, but will never let Satan lead him away into eternal destruction. The various attributes, characteristics, and character related things about God that we have seen and considered assure us that without any doubts or hesitation, we can have “Faith Towards God.” In the next article we will begin considering the third elementary principle mentioned in Hebrews 6:1-2, i.e., “Baptisms”.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
