    पिछले लेखों  में हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में दिए गए आत्मिक वरदानों को देखना आरंभ किया था। यहाँ दिए गए 9 विभिन्न वरदानों: “बुद्धि का बातें”; “ज्ञान की बातें”; “विश्वास”; “चंगा करने का वरदान”; “सामर्थ्य के काम करने की शक्ति”; “भविष्यवाणी करने की शक्ति”; “आत्माओं की परख”; “अनेक प्रकार की भाषा”; “भाषाओं का अर्थ बताना” में से अभी तक हम पहले सात के बारे में देख चुके हैं। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा के सभी वरदान किसी के निज प्रयोग अथवा लाभ के लिए नहीं हैं, वरन, सभी के लिए और मसीही विश्वासियों की मण्डली की उन्नति और लाभ के लिए हैं। जिसे भी उसकी सेवकाई के लिए जो भी वरदान परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रदान किया है, उसे वह वरदान पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, सभी मसीही विश्वासियों के लाभ के लिए प्रयोग करना है, अपने लिए नहीं। आज हम इस सूची के शेष दो वरदानों के बारे में कुछ विवरण देखेंगे:   

• “अनेक प्रकार की भाषा”: प्रेरितों 2:4-11 से यह प्रकट है कि जिन “अन्य भाषाओं” का उल्लेख किया गया है वे पृथ्वी की ही, और विभिन्न भौगोलिक क्षेत्रों के लोगों द्वारा बोली जाने वाली भाषाएं थीं; न कि अलौकिक या पृथ्वी के बाहर की भाषाएं, जैसा पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले दावा करते हैं। यह बात 1 कुरिन्थियों 14 अध्याय के अध्ययन से और अधिक स्पष्ट एवं दृढ़ हो जाती है। उस समय प्रभु के शिष्यों और प्रेरितों को तुरंत ही संसार भर में जाकर सुसमाचार बताने की आवश्यकता थी; किन्तु प्रभु के सभी अनुयायी इस्राएल से थे, स्थानीय भाषा बोलने वाले थे, और अधिकांशतः तो बहुत कम शिक्षा पाए हुए या अनपढ़ भी थे। इस बात का सुसमाचार प्रचार में बाधा बनने के समाधान के लिए पवित्र आत्मा ने उन शिष्यों को बिना पहले किसी अन्य क्षेत्र की स्थानीय भाषा को सीखे, अनेकों प्रकार की भाषाएं बोलने का वरदान भी दे दिया, जिससे वे जहाँ पर भी जाएँ, वहाँ की भाषा के अनुसार उन इलाकों में जाकर प्रचार कर सकें। यह उस समय की तात्कालिक आवश्यकता थी, जिसका समाधान परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रदान किया, और यह 1 कुरिन्थियों 14 अध्याय में और स्पष्ट भी हो जाता है। साथ ही पवित्र आत्मा ने यह भी लिखवा दिया कि यह वरदान स्थाई नहीं है, वरन एक समय पर समाप्त हो जाएगा क्योंकि तब इसकी आवश्यकता नहीं रहेगी (1 कुरिन्थियों 13:8), क्योंकि हर स्थान पर हर भाषा में सुसमाचार देने वाले लोग खड़े हो जाएंगे। किन्तु इस वरदान की गलत समझ, व्याख्या, और शिक्षाओं के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं देने वालों ने बहुतेरों को बहका रखा है, भ्रम में डाल रखा है। साथ ही, बाइबल की शिक्षाओं और निर्देशों के विपरीत, जो लोग “अन्य-भाषा” के बारे में ये गलत शिक्षाएँ देते हैं, वे इस वरदान को व्यक्तिगत उपयोग तथा स्वयं की महिमा के लिए चाहते हैं, परमेश्वर के साथ “व्यक्तिगत वार्तालाप” करने के लिए, जबकि उनको यह पता भी नहीं होता है कि उनके मुँह से निकलने वाली विचित्र आवाजों का अर्थ क्या था। वे नहीं जानते हैं कि उन्होंने जो तथाकथित “परमेश्वर से वार्तालाप” किया है, उसमें क्या कहा और सुना गया, वह किस बारे में था, क्या निर्देश मिले, क्या सुधारने के लिए कहा गया। साथ ही वे एक ही विचित्र आवाज़ को हर समय, हर अवसर पर, हर बात के लिये बारम्बार दोहराते रहते हैं, मानों एक ही विचित्र आवाज़ में अलग-अलग समय, अवसर, और बात के लिये अलग-अलग अर्थ निहित हैं - जो किसी भी भाषा से किसी भी प्रकार से सुसंगत नहीं है।  

प्रत्येक अन्य आत्मिक वरदान के समान, अन्य भाषा बोलने का वरदान भी सभी की भलाई, सभी की उपयोगिता, और मण्डली की उन्नति के लिए है; किसी के द्वारा व्यक्तिगत प्रयोग या अपने आप को विशेष सामर्थ्य पाया हुआ दिखाने के लिए नहीं। इसलिए इस वरदान के आधार पर कोई भी अपने आप को विशिष्ट या असाधारण, परमेश्वर द्वारा विशेष रीति से आशीष पाया हुआ नहीं कह या दिखा सकता है। ऐसा कहना या जताना, इस वरदान का दुरुपयोग करना है, तथा परमेश्वर के वचन की अनुचित व्याख्या के द्वारा उसका भी दुरुपयोग करना है। इसे व्यक्तिगत उपयोग के लिए बताना या प्रयोग करना, वचन के अनुसार नहीं है, और वास्तविकता तो यह है कि आज जो इस वरदान को इतना महत्व देते हैं, वे कोई भाषा नहीं बोल रहे होते हैं, वे एक उन्माद की दशा में केवल मुँह से कुछ निरर्थक आवाज़ें निकाल और दोहरा रहे होते हैं। क्योंकि वे जो बोल रहे होते हैं उसे न तो वे स्वयं और न ही कोई अन्य समझने पाता है, और स्वयं को जायज़ ठहराने के लिए वे इसे “अलौकिक भाषा” में बात करना कह देते हैं, और अपने दावे की पुष्टि के लिये परमेश्वर के वचन को तोड़-मरोड़ कर प्रस्तुत करते हैं। 

• “भाषाओं का अर्थ बताना”: जिस प्रकार संसार के सभी स्थानों में जाकर वहाँ की भाषा में सुसमाचार प्रचार करने वालों की आवश्यकता थी, उसी प्रकार से मण्डलियों में ऐसे लोगों की भी आवश्यकता थी जो दु-भाषिये का कार्य कर सकें। अर्थात यदि बाहर से कोई भिन्न भाषा बोलने वाला प्रचारक किसी मण्डली में आए, तो उसकी बात को स्थानीय भाषा में अनुवाद कर के स्थानीय लोगों को लाभान्वित कर सकें। इसीलिए पवित्र आत्मा ने लिखवाया है कि प्रचारक को किसी नए स्थान पर जाने के बाद पहले यह पता कर लेना चाहिए कि उसकी बात का स्थानीय भाषा में अनुवाद करने वाला कोई है कि नहीं; यदि नहीं है तो फिर उसे शांत रहना चाहिए, नाहक प्रचार नहीं करना चाहिए (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:27-28)। इस वरदान का दिया जाना, इससे सम्बन्धित निर्देशों का परमेश्वर के वचन में स्पष्ट लिखवाया जाना, और मण्डली में इसका विद्यमान होना, ये सभी बातें एक बार फिर पुष्टि करती हैं कि बाइबल में उल्लेखित “अन्य भाषाएं” पृथ्वी की ही भाषाएं थीं, कोई अलौकिक भाषाएं नहीं। 

    1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में दिए गए 9 आत्मिक वरदानों को देखने के बाद, अगले लेख से हम अपना ध्यान रोमियों 12 अध्याय पर केंद्रित करेंगे, और विश्वासी के पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों को उपयोग करने का भण्डारी होने के बारे में सीखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। सच्चे मन से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 4

 

    Since the previous articles we have been seeing about the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Of the 9 different gifts, i.e., “word of wisdom,” “word of knowledge,” “faith,” “healing,” “miracles,” “prophecy,” “discerning of spirits,” “different kinds of tongues,” and “interpretation of tongues”, we have seen about the first 7. We had also seen that none of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for any person’s personal use or benefit; rather, all the gifts are meant for the help and benefit of everyone in the Church. Whichever gift anyone has received for their God assigned work and ministry, he has to use that gift under the guidance of God the Holy Spirit, for the benefit of the Christian Believers, not for himself alone. Today we will see about the remaining two gifts in this list:

• “Different kinds of tongues”: From Acts 2:4-11 it is apparent that the “tongues” or other languages that had been spoken of were known, recognized, named, and spoken earthly languages of different geographical regions. They were not any “out of the world” or “heavenly” languages, as those who preach and teach wrong things in the name of the Holy Spirit claim. This becomes all the more clear and more established from studying 1 Corinthians 14. At that time, the disciples of the Lord Jesus had to spread out into the world and preach the gospel to all people; but the disciples were all from Israel, spoke their local language, and most of them were either poorly educated or uneducated. So that this does not become a limiting factor in the preaching and spread of the Gospel, therefore, the Holy Spirit gave the then disciples the remedy to the situation - the miraculous ability to speak in the languages of other places without having to wait to learn them, so that they could immediately go to various geographical areas and preach the gospel unhindered by language, in the local language. This was an immediate need of the situation, and it was taken care of by the Holy Spirit, and this becomes clear in 1 Corinthians 14. Moreover, God the Holy Spirit also had it written down that this gift was not for all times, but after some time it will be taken away because by that time it will no longer be needed (1 Corinthians 13:8), since at every place, in every language people would come up who can preach the gospel in the local language. But, by misinterpreting the teachings about this gift and misusing this gift itself, those who preach wrong doctrines and teach false teachings have created a lot of confusion and have beguiled and led astray many people. Moreover, contrary to Biblical instructions and teachings, those who give these wrong teachings about “tongues,” seek this gift for personal use and self-glorification, for their “personal communications” with God; whereas, actually they themselves have no idea of the meaning of what they have uttered from their mouths. They do not know what they allegedly have “communicated with God” about, what was said and heard in that “conversation,” what instructions were given to them and what were they asked to correct and improve upon. Moreover, they keep uttering the same gibberish over and over again, at all times, on every occasion, for everything; as if in the same gibberish that they always utter, things necessary to speak for their current time and occasion are automatically implied - which is absolutely inconsistent with the norms of any language.

Like every other spiritual gift, the gift of being able to speak in other languages is also for the growth and benefit of the Church and other Christian Believers, and not for the use and benefit of any person. Therefore, no one can claim to be someone extra-special or extra-ordinary, specially blessed by God because of having this gift. Doing so is a misuse of this gift and God’s Word; it is misinterpreting and misusing God’s Word. Claiming that this gift is for personal use and is to be used in that manner, is inconsistent with God’s Word. The reality is that those who do this, actually do not speak any language, but just repetitively utter a few unintelligible sounds in an ecstatic state. Since what they are saying is neither understood by them nor by anyone else, and to justify themselves they claim that they are speaking some “heavenly” language, and distort God’s Word to substantiate their claim.

• “Interpretation of tongues”: At that time, just as it was required that there be people who will be able to go to various places and preach the gospel in the local language there, similarly it was required in the Church that there be bi-lingual or multi-lingual people, who would be able to translate for someone coming from outside, from another language speaking area, so that if an outside preacher comes, then the local people can benefit from what he has to say. It is for this reason that the Holy Spirit had it written down that if a preacher goes to a new area, he should first find out if there is someone who can translate for him into the local language; if there is nobody, then he should stay silent instead of unnecessarily preaching when no one can understand what he is saying (1 Corinthians 14:27-28). That this gift was given, clear instructions related to the use of this gift were recorded in God’s Word, and the presence of this gift in the Assemblies of God’s children, all this once again affirms that the “tongues” mentioned in the Bible were earthly, not extra-terrestrial languages.

    Having considered the 9 gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, from the next article, we will shift our focus to Romans 12, and start learning about the Believer’s being stewards of utilizing their spiritual gifts.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

“बड़े से बड़े वरदानों की धुन में रहो” को समझना – 3

 

नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों के, परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें दिए गए प्रावधानों और विशेषाधिकारों का भण्डारी होने का अध्ययन करते हुए, वर्तमान में हम विश्वासियों के पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा उन्हें दिए गए वरदानों का भण्डारी होने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं। ये वरदान विश्वासियों को मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें सौंपी गई सेवकाइयों का उचित निर्वाह करने के लिए दिए गए हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि सभी मसीही विश्वासी समान रूप से परमेश्वर की सन्तान हैं, परमेश्वर सभी से, बिना किसी भिन्नता के, समान रीति से प्रेम करता है। इसीलिये, परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सभी सेवकाइयाँ और पवित्र आत्मा के सभी वरदान समान स्तर एवं महत्व के ही हैं; कोई भी किसी भी अन्य से ‘छोटा’ नहीं है। इस प्रकार की भिन्नता करना मनुष्यों की प्रवृत्ति है, परमेश्वर की नहीं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई सेवकाइयों और उन से सम्बन्धित पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों को ‘कमतर’ या ‘बेहतर’ देखना अथवा समझना शैतान की एक ऐसी युक्ति में फँसना है जो परमेश्वर के चरित्र और गुणों पर ही हमला करती है। 

हम यह भी देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ही, और केवल वह ही है जो यह निर्धारित करता है कि किसे कौन सा वरदान दिया जाना है। न तो किसी एक व्यक्ति के पास सारे वरदान हैं; और न ही कोई एक वरदान सभी विश्वासियों को दिया गया है। शैतान ने कुछ लोगों के द्वारा 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:31 की गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग करवा के यह प्रचार और शिक्षा फैला रखी है कि ‘बड़े से बड़े’ वरदानों की भी एक विशेष श्रेणी है और विश्वासियों को उस श्रेणी के वरदानों की लालसा करने और उन्हें प्राप्त करने में लगे रहना चाहिए। इसके द्वारा शैतान ने बहुतेरों को उनकी सेवकाई में लगे रहने के स्थान पर, व्यर्थ बातों में लगे रहने में फँसा दिया है। इस पद को उसके सन्दर्भ में देखने के द्वार हमने इस गढ़ी हुई धारणा के गलत होने को समझा था; और हमने यह भी देखा था कि ‘बड़े’ वरदान से तात्पर्य उन वरदानों से है जो कलीसिया या विश्वासियों की मण्डली में सर्वाधिक उपयोग होते हैं। अर्थात, यह पद वास्तव में जो कह रहा है वह है कि विश्वासियों को ऐसे लोग होने की लालसा करनी चाहिए जो कलीसिया और मण्डली के लोगों के मध्य सेवा के लिए सर्वाधिक उपयोग किए जाते हैं। आज हम इसी के बारे में और आगे देखेंगे, और ‘बड़े’ वरदानों की इस समझ की एक और पुष्टि, उस के सन्दर्भ से सम्बन्धित एक अन्य पद के द्वारा देखेंगे।

आत्मिक वरदानों के प्रयोग से संबंधित इस अध्याय का एक और महत्वपूर्ण पद है “और परमेश्वर ने कलीसिया में अलग अलग व्यक्ति नियुक्त किए हैं; प्रथम प्रेरित, दूसरे भविष्यद्वक्ता, तीसरे शिक्षक, फिर सामर्थ्य के काम करने वाले, फिर चंगा करने वाले, और उपकार करने वाले, और प्रधान, और नाना प्रकार की भाषा बोलने वाले” (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28)। ध्यान कीजिये कि यहाँ पर आत्मिक वरदानों का प्रयोग करने वालों को पवित्र आत्मा ने एक क्रम-संख्या के साथ, एक निर्धारित वरीयता-क्रम के अनुसार लिखवाया है। रोचक बात है कि पवित्र आत्मा द्वार दी गई इस क्रमवार सूची में, पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं देने वालों में सर्वाधिक प्रचलित और माँग किया जाने वाला वरदान - अन्य भाषा बोलना, यहाँ दिए गए क्रम में सबसे अंत में रखा गया है। दूसरे शब्दों में, कलीसिया में इस वरदान का तुलनात्मक रीति से स्थान बहुत बाद में, अंत में आता है। इसका यह अर्थ नहीं है कि यह वरदान कम महत्वपूर्ण है या छोटा अथवा गौण है; वरन इसलिए क्योंकि किसी भी स्थानीय मण्डली के कार्यों में इसका उपयोग किया जाना अन्य वरदानों की तुलना में उतना अधिक नहीं है। क्योंकि इसका उपयोग तब ही होगा जब कोई ऐसा परदेशी, जो स्थानीय भाषा नहीं जानता है, आए और वचन की सेवकाई करे, या उसके समझने के लिये अनुवाद करने की आवश्यकता हो। तब ही कलीसिया में उस भाषा को जानने वाला व्यक्ति अनुवाद करने के लिए उपयोग में आएगा; किन्तु तब उस स्थिति में, जिसके पास उस भाषा का यह वरदान है उसका बहुत महत्व और उपयोगिता होगी। अन्यथा मण्डली के प्रतिदिन के सामान्य कार्यों के लिए इस वरदान का कोई उपयोग नहीं है। 

ध्यान देने योग्य एक और बात है कि इस वरदान से ठीक पहले, अर्थात वरदानों के क्रम में अंत की ओर, एक और ऐसा वरदान है, सामान्यतः मनुष्य जिसकी आज बहुत लालसा रखते हैं, जिसे प्राप्त करना चाहते हैं - “प्रधान” (अँग्रेज़ी में administrations) होना, अर्थात कलीसिया या मण्डली में, कार्यों को नियोजित करने और प्रबंधन करने का स्थान। आज इसे औरों पर अधिकार रखने और अधिकार दिखाने, अपने आप को ऊंचा और दूसरों को नियंत्रित कर सकने वाला दिखाने के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है। किन्तु उपयोगिता के दृष्टिकोण से इस वरदान की वरीयता भी अन्य की तुलना में अंत की ओर, कम उपयोग होने वाली ही है। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि उस आरंभिक मसीही मण्डली के समय में लोग प्रभु यीशु मसीह की शिक्षाओं को गंभीरता से लेते और उनका पालन करते थे। प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा था, “तब उसने बैठकर बारहों को बुलाया, और उन से कहा, यदि कोई बड़ा होना चाहे, तो सब से छोटा और सब का सेवक बने” (मरकुस 9:35)। इसलिए उस पहली कलीसिया के समय में “प्रधान” (या administrator) होने का तात्पर्य था वास्तव में सब से छोटा होना और सब का सेवक होना। और आज की मानसिकता के अनुसार, यह बात इस वरदान और कार्य से संबंधित आज के व्यवहार के बिलकुल विपरीत है। और फिर, यदि कलीसिया के सभी या अधिकांश लोग उद्यम से अपने कर्तव्यों और ज़िम्मेदारियों का पालन करेंगे, तो किसी को दूसरे को नियंत्रित करने की क्या आवश्यकता होगी? इसलिए उस समय इसके लिए कोई होड़ भी नहीं रहती थी, और यह क्रम में अन्त की ओर दिया गया।

उपयोगिता के अनुसार दिए गए वरीयता के क्रम के मध्य में “सामर्थ्य के काम करने वाले, फिर चंगा करने वाले, और उपकार करने वाले” दिए गए हैं। किन्तु प्राथमिक स्थान वचन की सेवकाई से संबंधित काम करने वालों का है “प्रथम प्रेरित, दूसरे भविष्यद्वक्ता, तीसरे शिक्षक।” अर्थात्, परमेश्वर के दृष्टिकोण से, मण्डली के कार्यों और सेवकाई के लिए, मण्डली की उन्नति के लिए सबसे अधिक उपयोगिता परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई करने वालों, वचन को ठीक से सिखाने और समझाने वालों की है। यह 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:31 के प्रति एक और दृष्टिकोण प्रदान करता है, जिसका बहुधा ‘बड़े से बड़े वरदानों की लालसा करो’ सिखाने के लिए दुरुपयोग किया जाता है। हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि इसका वास्तविक अर्थ है कलीसिया या मण्डली में सर्वाधिक उपयोग होने वाले बनो। अब हम और बेहतर समझ सकते हैं कि ये ‘बड़े से बड़े वरदान’ ‘अन्य भाषा बोलना,’ या ‘आश्चर्यकर्म करना’ नहीं हैं, वरन परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई से सम्बन्धित कार्यों में लगे रहना हैं। इन प्राथमिक महत्व की सेवकाइयों के वरदानों के उचित निर्वाह के लिए व्यक्ति को परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ और प्रार्थना में समय बिताना होता है, न कि अपने वरदान का प्रदर्शन करने में या दूसरों पर अधिकार जमाने और अधिकार दिखाने में लगे रहना होता है। प्रेरितों 6:1-7 में आरंभिक मण्डली की एक घटना दी गई है, जो मण्डली में विवाद और मतभेद का कारण बन रही थी। किन्तु प्रेरितों ने उसके कारण प्रार्थना और वचन की सेवा करने के महत्व के साथ कोई समझौता नहीं किया; उन्होंने कलीसिया के ‘प्रधान’ होने की ज़िम्मेदारी अपने ऊपर नहीं ले ली, वरन उसे औरों को दे दिया। नि:सन्देह, उन्होंने समस्या को सुलझाने के लिए समाधान बताया, किन्तु अपनी सेवकाई की थोड़े समय के लिए भी अनदेखी नहीं की। जिसके परिणामस्वरूप “परमेश्वर का वचन फैलता गया और यरूशलेम में चेलों की गिनती बहुत बढ़ती गई; और याजकों का एक बड़ा समाज इस मत के आधीन हो गया” (प्रेरितों 6:7)। 

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं तो, आपकी प्राथमिकताएं क्या हैं? क्या परमेश्वर के वचन में दृढ़ और स्थापित होना, उसे दूसरों तक उसके सही स्वरूप में पहुँचाना आपकी इच्छा और प्राथमिकता है? या आप भी दिखने में बहुत प्रभावी किन्तु मण्डली के लिए उपयोगिता में कम वरीयता रखने वाली बातों के पीछे पड़े हैं? अपनी सेवकाई और अपने वरदान को पहचानिए; प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी बनिए। 

अगले लेख से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में दिये गये वरदानों पर विचार करना आरम्भ करेंगे। 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Understanding “Earnestly Desire the Best Gifts” – 3

 

In studying the stewardship of Born-Again Christian Believers towards their God given provisions and privileges, we are presently considering about Believer’s being the stewards of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts have been given to them to live their Christian lives and to worthily fulfill their God assigned ministries. We have seen that all the Believers are equally the children of God, God loves them all the same without any differentiation. Hence, their God given ministries and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are also of equal status and importance in God’s eyes; none is lesser in any way from another. Differentiating in this manner is a human tendency, not God’s. In the previous article we have seen that looking upon God assigned ministries and their related gifts of the Holy Spirit as ‘lesser’ or ‘better’ than another is to fall into a satanic error that attacks the very characteristics and attributes of God. 

We have also seen that it is God the Holy Spirit, and He alone, who decides which gifts to give to whom. Neither does any one person have all the spiritual gifts, nor has one particular gift been given to everyone. Through misinterpretation and misuse of 1 Corinthians 12:31, Satan has made some people preach and teach that there is a special category of gifts referred to as ‘best gifts’ and the Believers should be engaged in desiring them and acquiring them. Through this, Satan has deviated many into vain efforts, instead of being engaged in fulfilling their ministries. Through looking at this verse in its context, we saw the fallacy of this contrived notion; and we have seen that the ‘best gifts’ refers to gifts most often utilized in the Church and amongst Believers. Therefore, what this verse is actually saying is that the Believers should desire to be those who are utilized the most in the services and functions of the Church and amongst the congregation. Today we will further look at this and see another confirmation of this meaning of ‘best gifts’ through another contextual verse.

There is another important verse in this chapter, related to the utility and using of the Spiritual gifts: “And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues” (1 Corinthians 12:28). Take note that in this verse, the Holy Spirit has written down the various ministries for utilizing the Spiritual gifts in a particular order, and has given them a serial number, placing them in a sequential order. It is interesting to note from this sequential list given by the Holy Spirit, the most popular gift, and the gift most in demand by those who spread wrong doctrines and false teachings about the Holy Spirit, i.e., speaking in ‘tongues,’ has been placed as the last gift. In other words, in a comparative manner, this gift is of the least utility in the Church. This is not to say that this gift is less important or lesser than the rest; but in context of the frequency of its use, in any Church, it is not used as frequently as the other gifts. This is because this gift will only be used when some outside person who does not know the local language comes, and needs translation, either for sharing the Word or for understanding what is being preached. It will only be in such a situation that the person who has this gift of knowing that visitor’s language will be utilized, not otherwise. But then in that particular situation, the one with this gift will be very important and useful. Otherwise, in the day-to-day functioning of the local assembly or Church, this gift of ‘tongues’ will not be used.

Another thing to note is that towards the end of this list of Spiritual gifts, as the second-last gift is another Spiritual gift that generally speaking most members of the Church often desire and want to have - the gift of “administrations”; i.e., the position and status in the Church or congregation to decide and manage the Church. Today, this is seen as something that enables a person to have control or authority over others, and is often used to show-off as being superior to others, as one who has charge over others. But from the point of view of utility or frequency of use, the sequential position of this gift is also towards the end, i.e., this Spiritual gift is also one of the least used ones. This is because in those initial Church congregations, the people took the teachings and instructions of the Lord Jesus very seriously, and diligently followed them. Their priority was not “administering” the Church, but preaching the Gospel to the ends of the earth at any cost (Acts 1:8; 8:4; 1 Thessalonians 1:6-10). The Lord Jesus had told His disciples, “And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, "If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all"” (Mark 9:35). Therefore, in those initial Church congregations, to be an “administrator” meant to be least of all and a servant of others. But from our present day mentality, this is absolutely the opposite of what this gift is seen and used as. Moreover, if all or most of the people of the Church fulfilled their duties and responsibilities diligently, then why would anyone need to regulate them in any way? Therefore this gift was not one to be earnestly desired, and sequentially was listed towards the end of the list.

In the middle of this verse, in order of utility and use, the gifts mentioned are “miracles, then gifts of healings, helps.” But the first three positions, i.e., the gifts most in use in the Church are those related to the Word Ministry, “first apostles, second prophets, third teachers.” In other words, from God’s perspective, for the work and ministry of the Church, for the growth and benefit of the Church, the most useful, the best ministry is of those who can teach and preach the Word of God to the congregation. This also gives another perspective to 1 Corinthians 12:31, often misused for saying “desire the best gifts.” We have seen earlier that it is meant to say desire to have the gifts that have the best or most utility in the Church. Now we can better understand that those “best gifts” are not the ‘speaking in tongues’, or the gift of doing miracles, but the gifts of being engaged in the ministry of God’s Word. To be diligent in ministering these primary gifts requires that a person be continually engaged in studying God’s Word and in prayers, instead of showing off their gift to people, or exercising authority over them. In Acts 6:1-7 an incident of the initial Church is recorded, which had become a cause for contention in the congregation. But because of that, the Apostles did not compromise on their ministry of prayers and study of God’s Word, they did not take up “administration” of the Church, but gave the administration to others. They did guide and show the way and the solution, but did not neglect their own ministry even for a short while. The result was that “Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith” (Acts 6:7).

If you are a Christian Believer, then what are your priorities? Is being strong and established in the Word of God, taking God’s Word in its true form, with its correct interpretation to others, spreading the Gospel, your desire and priority? Or, are you too desirous of the seemingly impressive Spiritual gifts, that are actually very low down in their utility in the Church? Recognize your ministry and put to use your gift; become useful for the Lord God.

From the next article we will begin considering the gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11.  

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins, ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हम पिछले लेखों से देखते आ रहे हैं कि बालकों के समान अपरिपक्व मसीही विश्वासियों की एक पहचान यह भी है कि वे बहुत सरलता से भ्रामक शिक्षाओं द्वारा बहकाए तथा गलत बातों में भटकाए जाते हैं। इन भ्रामक शिक्षाओं को शैतान और उस के दूत झूठे प्रेरित, धर्म के सेवक, और ज्योतिर्मय स्‍वर्गदूतों का रूप धारण कर के बताते और सिखाते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15)। ये लोग, और उनकी शिक्षाएं, दोनों ही बहुत आकर्षक, रोचक, और ज्ञानवान, यहाँ तक कि भक्तिपूर्ण और श्रद्धापूर्ण भी प्रतीत हो सकती हैं, किन्तु साथ ही उनमें अवश्य ही बाइबल की बातों के अतिरिक्त भी बातें डली हुई होती हैं। जैसा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित पौलुस के द्वारा 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:4 में लिखवाया है, यदि कोई तुम्हारे पास आकर, किसी दूसरे यीशु को प्रचार करे, जिस का प्रचार हम ने नहीं किया: या कोई और आत्मा तुम्हें मिले; जो पहिले न मिला था; या और कोई सुसमाचार जिसे तुम ने पहिले न माना था, तो तुम्हारा सहना ठीक होता, इन भ्रामक शिक्षाओं और गलत उपदेशों के, मुख्यतः तीन विषय, होते हैं - प्रभु यीशु मसीह, पवित्र आत्मा, और सुसमाचार। साथ ही इस पद में सच्चाई को पहचानने और शैतान के झूठ से बचने के लिए एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात भी दी गई है, कि इन तीनों विषयों के बारे में जो यथार्थ और सत्य हैं, वे सब वचन में पहले से ही बता और लिखवा दिए गए हैं। इसलिए बाइबल से देखने, जाँचने, तथा वचन के आधार पर शिक्षाओं को परखने के द्वारा सही और गलत की पहचान करना कठिन नहीं है।

पिछले लेखों में हमने इन गलत शिक्षा देने वाले लोगों के द्वारा, प्रभु यीशु से संबंधित सिखाई जाने वाली गलत शिक्षाओं को देखने के बाद, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित सामान्यतः बताई और सिखाई जाने वाली गलत शिक्षाओं की वास्तविकता को वचन की बातों से देखना आरंभ किया है। हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रत्येक सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी के नया जन्म या उद्धार पाते ही, तुरंत उसके उद्धार पाने के पल से ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा अपनी संपूर्णता में आकर उसके अंदर निवास करने लगता है, और उसी में बना रहता है, उसे कभी छोड़ कर नहीं जाता है; और इसी को पवित्र आत्मा से भरना या पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा पाना भी कहते हैं। वचन स्पष्ट है कि पवित्र आत्मा से भरना या उससे बपतिस्मा पाना कोई दूसरा या अतिरिक्त अनुभव नहीं है, वरन उद्धार के साथ ही सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी में पवित्र आत्मा का आकर निवास करना ही है। इन गलत शिक्षकों की एक और बहुत प्रचलित और बल पूर्वक कही जाने वाले बात है “अन्य-भाषाओं” में बोलना, और उन लोगों के द्वारा “अन्य-भाषाओं” को अलौकिक भाषाएं बताना, और परमेश्वर के वचन के दुरुपयोग के द्वारा इससे संबंधित कई और गलत शिक्षाओं को सिखाना। इसके बारे में भी हम देख चुके हैं कि यह भी एक ऐसी गलत शिक्षा है जिसका वचन से कोई समर्थन या आधार नहीं है। प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में जो अन्य भाषाएं बोली गईं, वे पृथ्वी ही की भाषाएं और उनकी बोलियाँ थीं; कोई अलौकिक भाषा नहीं। हमने यह भी देखा था कि वचन में इस शिक्षा का भी कोई आधार या समर्थन नहीं है कि “अन्य-भाषाएं” प्रार्थना की भाषाएं हैं। इस गलत शिक्षा के साथ जुड़ी हुई इन लोगों की एक और गलत शिक्षा है कि “अन्य-भाषाएं” बोलना ही पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने का प्रमाण है, जिसके भी झूठ होने और परमेश्वर के वचन के दुरुपयोग पर आधारित होने को हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है। पिछले लेखों में हमने यह भी देखा था कि उन लोगों के सभी दावों के विपरीत, न तो प्रेरितों 2:3-11 का प्रभु के शिष्यों द्वारा अन्य-भाषाओं में बोलना कोई “सुनने” का आश्चर्यकर्म था; न ही अन्य भाषाएं प्रार्थना करने की गुप्त भाषाएँ हैं; और न ही ये पृथ्वी की ही अन्य स्थानों की भाषाएँ किसी को भी यूं ही दे दी जाती हैं, जब तक कि व्यक्ति की उस स्थान पर सेवकाई न हो, जहाँ की भाषा बोलने की सामर्थ्य उसे प्रदान की गई है। आज हम अन्य-भाषाएं बोलने से संबंधित कुछ अन्य गलत शिक्षाओं के बारे में देखेंगे। 

क्या अन्य-भाषा में बोलना परमेश्वर से सीधे बात करना है?

पवित्र आत्मा और अन्य-भाषा बोलने से संबंधित एक अन्य गलत और पूर्णतः निराधार एवं झूठी शिक्षा यह भी कही जाती है कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:2 के अनुसार, जो अन्य भाषा में बोलता है, वह मनुष्यों से नहीं, वरन सीधे परमेश्वर से बातें करता है। यह कहने के द्वारा वे न केवल यहाँ प्रयोग किए गए व्यंग्य या कटाक्ष की, ताना मारने की अनदेखी कर देते हैं, वरन वचन को उसके संदर्भ से बाहर लेकर गलत अर्थ देने के भी दोषी ठहरते हैं। हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि अन्य-भाषा बोलना भी परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा दिया जाने वाला एक आत्मिक वरदान है, जो अन्य आत्मिक वरदानों के समान हर किसी को नहीं दिया जाता है, वरन सभी को उनकी निर्धारित सेवकाई के अनुसार भिन्न-भिन्न वरदान दिए जाते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11, 29-30)। क्योंकि कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली के कुछ लोग भी मुँह से विचित्र निरर्थक ध्वनियाँ निकालने के द्वारा मण्डली के अन्य लोगों को अलौकिक भाषा बोलने के दावे के द्वारा प्रभावित करने में लगे हुए थे, इसीलिए पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस द्वारा उनकी इस बात पर ताना मारते हुए यह बात कही, जिसका सामान्य शब्दों में अभिप्राय है, “उन लोगों की ये इस प्रकार की ‘अन्य-भाषाएँ’ किसी मनुष्य की समझ में तो आती नहीं हैं; किसी को पता ही नहीं चलने पाता है कि वे क्या भेद की बातें बोल रहे हैं। वे तो अपने आप को सामान्य लोगों से उच्च और भिन्न स्तर का दिखते हैं, इसलिए मनुष्य नहीं संभवतः परमेश्वर ही समझ पाएगा कि वे क्या कह रहे हैं।” उनकी यह बात, यह दावा, किसी आत्मिक वरदान का व्यक्तिगत रीति से उपयोग, बिना उसके द्वारा कलीसिया की उन्नति अथवा किसी अन्य का लाभ हुए, आत्मिक वरदानों के औचित्य के बिलकुल विपरीत है (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7; 14:5, 12); परमेश्वर के वचन के विरुद्ध है।

उन लोगों द्वारा अलौकिक भाषाएं बोलने के दावे के संदर्भ में भी पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस प्रेरित के द्वारा लिखवा दिया, यदि मैं मनुष्यों, और स्वर्गदूतों की बोलियां बोलूं, और प्रेम न रखूं, तो मैं ठनठनाता हुआ पीतल, और झनझनाती हुई झांझ हूं (1 कुरिन्थियों 13:1)। अर्थात, परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में महत्व पृथ्वी की अथवा अलौकिक भाषा बोल पाने का नहीं है, महत्व प्रेम को दिखाने और मिल-जुल कर प्रेम से रहने का है; और इसके विषय वह 11 अध्याय में, प्रभु-भोज के दर्शन समझाते समय भी उन से कह चुका था, उनमें ऊँच-नीच और बड़े-छोटे होना दिखाने की प्रवृत्ति की भर्त्सना कर चुका था। इसी विचार को आगे बढ़ाते हुए, पौलुस इस पद में होकर इस बात पर बल दे रहा है कि महत्व साथ मिलकर प्रेम के साथ रहने का है, न कि “अन्य-भाषा” बोलने के द्वारा अपने आप को विशेष दिखाने और दूसरों पर अपने किसी रीति से बड़े होने को दिखाने का।

साथ ही इस बात पर भी ध्यान करें, कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:9 जो लिखा है, उसे ये गलत शिक्षाएं फैलाने वाले कभी सामने नहीं लाते हैं, कभी नहीं बताते हैं, क्योंकि यह पद उनके परमेश्वर से बातें करने के दावों की पोल खोल देता है। वहाँ लिखा है ऐसे ही तुम भी यदि जीभ से साफ साफ बातें न कहो, तो जो कुछ कहा जाता है वह क्योंकर समझा जाएगा? तुम तो हवा से बातें करने वाले ठहरोगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:9)। स्पष्ट है कि जो भी बोला जाए वह अस्पष्ट या समझा न जाने वाला नहीं होना चाहिए, वरन सुनने वालों (परमेश्वर नहीं, वरन सुनने वाले मनुष्यों) की समझ में आने वाली बात ही होनी चाहिए, जैसे प्रेरितों 2:3-11 में  थी - लोगों को समझ आ रहा था कि उनकी ही भाषाओं में कहा जा रहा है, परमेश्वर के बड़े-बड़े कामों की चर्चा की जा रही है। इस पद के अंत के वाक्य पर ध्यान कीजिए, “...तुम तो हवा से बातें करने वाले ठहरोगे।” यदि पद 2 में उन लोगों के द्वारा विचित्र और निरर्थक ध्वनियाँ निकालना परमेश्वर से बातें करना था, तो फिर यहाँ लिखी गई यह बात कैसे संभव है? पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में पौलुस प्रेरित यह बात कैसे लिख सकता है, क्योंकि यह तो परमेश्वर से बातें करने की बात के विपरीत और उसका अपमान करना है? या तो पद 2 में परमेश्वर से बात करना सही है, या फिर पद 9 में हवा से बातें करना सही है। दोनों तो एक साथ सही तब ही होंगे जब पद 2 की बात एक ताना है, और पद 9 की बात वास्तविकता है। अर्थात, स्वयं परमेश्वर के वचन ने ही तुरंत ही अपनी सही बात को सामने रख दिया है। और ये गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले इस पद की, तथा इस संदर्भ के परमेश्वर के वचन के अन्य हवालों की अनदेखी करके, केवल अपनी ही बात को सही दिखाने के मतलब से, परमेश्वर के वचन का दुरुपयोग करते हैं, परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करते हैं, परमेश्वर के नाम में झूठी शिक्षाएं और बातें सिखाते हैं।

अगले लेख से हम अन्य भाषाएं बोलने से संबंधित कुछ और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातों पर विचार करेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह जानना और समझना अति-आवश्यक है कि आप परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित इन गलत शिक्षाओं में न पड़ जाएं; न खुद भरमाए जाएं, और न ही आपके द्वारा कोई और भरमाया जाए। लोगों द्वारा कही जाने वाले ही नहीं, वरन वचन में लिखी हुई बातों पर भी ध्यान दें, और लोगों की बातों को वचन की बातों से मिला कर जाँचें और परखें। यदि आप इन गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ चुके हैं, तो अभी वचन के अध्ययन और बात को जाँच-परख कर, सही शिक्षा को, उसी के पालन को अपना लें।

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Speaking in “Tongues” is NOT Directly Speaking with God (1)

    We have been seeing in the previous articles that one of the ways the child-like, immature Christian Believers can be identified is that they can very easily be deceived, beguiled and misled by wrong doctrines and false teachings. Satan and his followers bring in their wrong doctrines and misinterpretations of God’s Word through people who masquerade as apostles, ministers of righteousness, and angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). These deceptive people and their false messages, their teachings appear to be very attractive, interesting, knowledgeable, even very reverential and righteous; but there is always something or the other that is extra-Biblical or unBiblical mixed into them. These wrong teachings and false doctrines are mainly about three topics, as God the Holy Spirit got it written down through the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted--you may well put up with it! - the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the Gospel. In this verse a very important way to identify the false and the correct, discern between them, and escape from being beguiled by Satan is also given - that which is the truth about these three topics has already been given and written in God’s Word. Therefore, by cross-checking every teaching and doctrine from the Bible, the true and the false can be discerned; that which is not already present in God’s Word is false, and their preacher is a preacher of satanic deceptions.

    In the previous articles, after seeing some commonly preached and taught false things about the Lord Jesus, we had started to look into the wrong things often taught and preached about the Holy Spirit. About the Holy Spirit, we have seen that every truly Born-Again Christian Believer automatically receives the Holy Spirit from God, at the very moment of his being saved. From that moment onwards, the Holy Spirit comes to reside in him in all His fullness, stays with him forever, never leaves him; and Biblically this is also known as being filled by the Holy Spirit or the baptism with the Holy Spirit. Another very popular and emphatically stated wrong teaching of these preachers and teachers of deceptions is about “speaking in tongues”, their claim that the “tongues’ are super-natural languages, and some other related wrong teachings. Regarding this we have seen that these are also wrong teachings which have no support or affirmation from the Bible. The speaking in “tongues” in Acts 2 were the known and understood languages of the earth and not any super-natural languages. We also saw that quite unlike their claims, “tongues” are not any “prayer language” - the Bible does not offer any support to this; and we also saw how their emphatic claim that speaking in tongues is proof of receiving the Holy Spirit is also patently false and unBiblical; it is their concocted doctrine through misuse and misinterpretation of Biblical facts. In the previous articles we had also seen that contrary to their claims, neither was the speaking in other languages by the disciples of Lord Jesus, as given in Acts 2:3-11 was a 'miracle of hearing'; nor are "tongues" meant to be a secret prayer language; and, nor are they languages of other regions of the earth that have casually been given, unless the person has a ministry in that region whose language he has been given. Today we will look at another commonly preached false teaching, that “speaking in tongues” is having a direct conversation with God.

Is “speaking in tongues” speaking directly with God?

    Another false claim, that these people preaching and teaching the wrong doctrines and false teachings about the Holy Spirit make is that speaking in "tongues" is speaking directly with God. They make this claim based on 1 Corinthians 14:2, that a person speaking in tongues speaks not to men, but directly with God. By making this claim they not only overlook the sarcasm used here by Paul to put them in their place, but by taking this verse out of its context and misinterpreting it, they also make themselves guilty of misusing God’s Word. We have seen before that speaking in “tongues”, i.e., known earthly languages, is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit; and as with the other gifts, this gift too is not given to everyone, but everyone is given the gift necessary for their ministry (1 Corinthians 12:7-11, 29-30). Because some people in the Church at Corinth were making these unintelligible sounds from their mouths, and trying to impress people that they have been given the gift of speaking a super-natural language, therefore, through the Apostle Paul, God the Holy Spirit admonished them sarcastically, and had this written. The simple straightforward meaning of this sarcastic sentence, this figure of speech is “the gibberish they speak as “tongues” is not understood by any man; nobody can understand the mysterious things they are speaking. Since they claim to be speaking through the spirit, and no man can understand them, then maybe it is only God who can understand what they are saying.” This whole thing, the use of a spiritual gift personally, but not edifying the Church and not benefiting others, is so contrary to the purpose of all Spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7; 14:5, 12); it contradicts God’s Word.

    With regard to their claim of speaking in extra-terrestrial languages, the Holy Spirit through Paul had already got it written, Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal (1 Corinthians 13:1). Thereby implying that in God’s eyes, what matters is His people exhibiting love and living together in fellowship with love; and their being able to speak in some earthly or extra-terrestrial language is unimportant. Recall that in 1 Corinthians chapter 11, while explaining to them about the Lord’s Supper or the Holy Communion, Paul through the Holy Spirit had spoken to them about the necessity of this love and fellowship and had severely admonished them for their tendency of trying to be superior and more important while showing others as inferior and of lesser importance. Continuing the same thought, in this verse too Paul emphasizes upon living together in love rather than trying to show-off through speaking in “tongues”, and falsely impress upon others their having a seemingly superior and more impressive gift.

    Also take note of what is written in 1 Corinthians 14:9 - something that these preachers and teachers of wrong doctrines and false teachings never bring up or talk about, because this verse lays bare and exposes their false claims about their speaking with God, So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air (1 Corinthians 14:9). This verse makes it very clear that whatever is spoken has to be in a manner that is easy to understand, so that the people (not God, but people) hearing will be able to know what is being talked about; as happened in Acts 2:3-11 - the people who were listening the disciple’s speaking in tongues understood in their languages that the disciples were talking about the wonderful works of God. Take note of the last phrase of this verse, “...For you will be speaking into the air.” Now, if 1 Corinthians 14:2 is about talking directly with God, then how can this be said? How could it even have been written, and that to through the Holy Spirit, for, writing this is insulting God, instead of affirming speaking directly with God? Because, through “speaking in tongues” either speaking to God directly of verse 2 is correct, or speaking into the air of verse 9 is correct; both cannot be correct, unless verse 2 is a sarcastic admonition and verse 9 is the reality. In other words, God Himself has put before us the truth, so that there is no confusion or misunderstanding. But these preachers and teachers of falsehood, deliberately ignore and overlook the context, the related verses, the other related passages from God’s Word, and misinterpret, misuse, misapply God’s Word, just to falsely preach and teach their wrong doctrines and contrived teachings. They corrupt God’s Word by mixing in things of their own thinking, and teach false things in the name of God.

    In the next article we will look at some other important truths about speaking in “tongues” given in 1 Corinthians 13 and 14 chapters. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is very essential for you to know and learn that you do not get beguiled and misled into wrong teachings and doctrines about the Holy Spirit; neither should you get deceived, nor should anyone else be deceived through you. Take note of the things written in God’s Word, not on things spoken by the people; always cross-check and verify all messages and teachings from the Word of God. If you have already been entangled in wrong teachings, then by cross-checking and verifying them from the Word of God, hold to only that which is the truth, follow it, and reject the rest.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

पिछले लेख में हमें परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के आधार पर देखा था कि प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में "अन्य भाषा में बोलना" न तो कोई सुनने का आश्चर्यकर्म था, और न ही वर्तमान का तथा-कथित "अन्य भाषाओं में बोलना" पृथ्वी के किसी अन्य अनजाने स्थान की भाषा में बोलना है। गलत सिद्धान्तों और झूठी शिक्षाएँ  देने वाले इन लोगों के ये दोनों ही दावे असत्य हैं; बाइबल से इन दावों का कोई समर्थन अथवा प्रमाण नहीं है। आज हम इन लोगों के द्वारा किए जाने वाले एक और झूठे दावे के बारे देखेंगे और बाइबल से उसे भी असत्य प्रमाणित करेंगे। 

क्या अन्य-भाषाएं प्रार्थना करने के लिए स्वर्गीय, गुप्त, भाषाएं हैं जिससे शैतान और उसके दूत हमारी प्रार्थनाओं को न समझ सकें, और उनमें बाधाएं न डालने पाएं?

अपनी निरर्थक आवाजों को अन्य-भाषाओं का जायज़ प्रतीत होने वाला स्वरूप देने के लिए ये लोग एक अन्य तर्क भी देते हैं कि उनकी वे अन्य-भाषाएं, परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई स्वर्गीय और गुप्त भाषाएं हैं जिससे हम जो प्रार्थनाएं इन भाषाओं में करते हैं, उसे शैतान और उसके दूत समझ न सकें, और प्रार्थनाओं के उत्तर मिलने में बाधाएं न डाल सकें। जो यह तर्क देते हैं, उनके इस तर्क से यह प्रमाणित हो जाता है कि उन्हें बाइबल के सत्य, तथ्य, और इतिहास का कुछ पता नहीं है। उनकी इस बात का वचन से कोई समर्थन नहीं है। न ही वे यह ध्यान करते हैं कि अय्यूब की पुस्तक के पहले दो अध्यायों के अनुसार शैतान स्वर्ग में जाकर परमेश्वर के साथ मिलता और बात-चीत करता रहता है; उसे किसी स्वर्गीय भाषा से कोई अवरोध नहीं होता है। साथ ही परमेश्वर भी अपने लोगों के बारे में उसके साथ खुलकर बात करता है, परमेश्वर को भी इसका कोई भय नहीं है कि शैतान यदि उसकी इच्छा जान लेगा तो कुछ बिगाड़ उत्पन्न करेगा; क्योंकि परमेश्वर का जन परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित सीमाओं के बाहर परखा ही नहीं जा सकता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13)। इस गलत शिक्षा के द्वारा वे इस बात की भी अनदेखी करते हैं कि पाप के कारण स्वर्ग से निकाले और गिराए जाने तथा शैतान बनने से पहले लूसिफर और उसके दूत, स्वर्ग में परमेश्वर के साथ रहने वाला प्रधान स्वर्गदूत और उसके साथ के स्वर्गदूत थे। इसलिए स्वर्ग की कोई भाषा या बात उनसे छिपी नहीं है, स्वर्गीय भाषा हम मनुष्यों के लिए “गुप्त” हो सकती है, उनके लिए नहीं।

और न ही यह गलत शिक्षा देने वाले इस बात को कहते समय यह ध्यान करते हैं कि जब प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को प्रार्थना करने से संबंधित शिक्षाएं दीं, तब लोगों को दिखाने के लिए नहीं वरन एकांत में प्रार्थना करने को कहा, और प्रार्थना का एक स्वरूप भी दिया (मत्ती 6:5-13); किन्तु कभी भी प्रभावी प्रार्थना के लिए किसी अन्य-भाषा का प्रयोग करने की कोई बात नहीं कही या सिखाई। और न ही बाद में नए नियम की पुस्तकों में कहीं ऐसी कोई शिक्षा दी गई कि प्रभावी प्रार्थनाओं के लिए न समझी जाने वाली “अन्य-भाषा” में प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए। परन्तु प्रभु के निर्देशों के विपरीत, इन लोगों को ऊँची आवाजों में और बड़े नाटकीय हाव-भाव के साथ लोगों को "अन्य भाषाओं में बोलना" दिखाने में मज़ा आता है। और यदि प्रार्थनाएं सुन और समझकर शैतान और उसके दूत उन्हें बाधित कर सकते हैं, तब तो वो परमेश्वर से अधिक सामर्थी हो गए, जो परमेश्वर की इच्छा और योजना, और उसकी संतानों के लिए परमेश्वर की आशीषों को जब चाहे रोक दें, और परमेश्वर इस विषय में कुछ न करने पाए! यह तथ्य भी उनकी इस बात के बिलकुल गलत होने को प्रकट कर देता है। ये लोग अपनी बात को सही दिखने के प्रयासों में बाइबल से बाहर की और बाइबल के असंगत बातों का उपयोग करने के प्रयास करते रहते हैं, जो तार्किक और भक्तिपूर्ण प्रतीत तो हो सकते हैं, परन्तु झूठ और निराधार होते हैं। 

अगले लेख से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 13-14 अध्याय में दी गई अन्य भाषाएं बोलने से संबंधित कुछ और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातों पर विचार करेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह जानना और समझना अति-आवश्यक है कि आप परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित इन गलत शिक्षाओं में न पड़ जाएं; न खुद भरमाए जाएं, और न ही आपके द्वारा कोई और भरमाया जाए। लोगों द्वारा कही जाने वाले ही नहीं, वरन वचन में लिखी हुई बातों पर भी ध्यान दें, और लोगों की बातों को वचन की बातों से मिला कर जाँचें और परखें। यदि आप इन गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ चुके हैं, तो अभी वचन के अध्ययन और बात को जाँच-परख कर, सही शिक्षा को, उसी के पालन को अपना लें।

In the previous article, we had seen from God's Word the Bible that the "speaking in tongues" in Acts 2 was neither a miracle of hearing, nor is the so-called "speaking in tongues" of today speaking in some earthly language of some other region. Both these claims made by these preachers and teachers of wrong doctrines and false teachings are incorrect, and have no Biblical support or proof. Today we will see another false claim made by these people, and disprove it from the Bible.

Are “tongues” a secret heavenly language, to keep Satan and his angels from understanding our prayers and hindering them?

This is another argument given by these people to justify their gibberish - that these are secret languages given by God to prevent Satan and his angels from knowing, understanding, and hindering our prayers. Those who give this argument, reveal that they have no knowledge and understanding of Biblical facts, truths, and history. Their this contention too has no support whatsoever from the Word of God. It shows that they are not aware, as stated in the first two chapters of the Book of Job, Satan visits heaven and converses with God; he has no problems because of any “heavenly language”. Moreover, God too talks with him and discusses about His people very openly; God has no worries that if Satan comes to know His will about a person, then Satan will go and do some harm, because Satan cannot in any way, do any harm or touch, or test a person beyond the boundaries set by God (1 Corinthians 10:13). By teaching this wrong message they also show that they are unaware that before being cast out of heaven and becoming Satan, Lucifer and his angels were in heaven, living with God and other angels. Therefore, no language of heaven is unknown to them; a so-called “heavenly language” may be “secret” and “unknown” for us humans, but not for Satan and his angels.

These preachers and teachers of this misinformation ignore the Lord’s teachings about prayer to His disciples. When the Lord taught the disciples about prayer, he asked them to pray not to show to people, but quietly, all by themselves, and also gave them a form or outline of prayer (Matthew 6:5-13); but never ever spoke of or taught them about praying in unknown tongues. But contrary to the Lord’s instructions, these people revel in making a loud, dramatic demonstration of their “praying in tongues”. Neither, later in any of the books of the New Testament do we find any such teaching or instruction, that for an effective prayer, it should be in an unknown and secret, “tongue”. If Satan and his angels are capable of hindering prayers because of hearing and knowing them, then they have become more powerful than God, have got the ability to obstruct and prevent God’s will and plans for His children from being fulfilled, and God is unable to do anything about it! This shows how hollow this claim actually is. They, in one way or another keep mixing in unBiblical, extra-Biblical things, that may sound logical and reverential but are false not untenable.

From the next article we will look at some very important truths about speaking in “tongues” given in 1 Corinthians 13 and 14 chapters. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is very essential for you to know and learn that you do not get beguiled and misled into wrong teachings and doctrines about the Holy Spirit; neither should you get deceived, nor should anyone else be deceived through you. Take note of the things written in God’s Word, not on things spoken by the people; always cross-check and verify all messages and teachings from the Word of God. If you have already been entangled in wrong teachings, then by cross-checking and verifying them from the Word of God, hold to only that which is the truth, follow it, and reject the rest.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
