पिछले
लेख में हमने इस प्रश्न पर विचार आरम्भ किया था कि क्या मसीही विश्वासी अपनी इच्छा
के अनुसार जीवन जी सकता है, या प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना उस पर कोई ज़िम्मेदारी लाता
है? हमने इस प्रश्न के उत्तर के लिये, 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:16-22 से देखना आरम्भ किया
था, और इसके पद 16 से देखा था कि यहाँ स्पष्ट लिखा है कि प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने
के द्वारा मसीही विश्वासी, मसीह की देह और लहू के साथ
सहभागिता में आ जाता है, जो उस पर यह ज़िम्मेदारी लाता है कि उसके जीवन और व्यवहार
से किसी को भी प्रभु परमेश्वर को अपमानित करने, प्रभु पर उँगली उठाने का अवसर न
मिले। आज हम इसी बात को आगे बढ़ाते हैं, और इस खण्ड के अन्य पदों में लिखी बातों पर
विचार करते हैं।
प्रभु
परमेश्वर के साथ इतनी घनिष्ठ संगति, स्वतः ही एक ज़िम्मेदारी,
एक विशेष संयम और व्यवहार के साथ जीए गए जीवन की माँग करती है।
इसीलिए पौलुस 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15, 17 में कहता है कि “15: और
वह इस निमित्त सब के लिये मरा, कि जो जीवित हैं,
वे आगे को अपने लिये न जीएं परन्तु उसके लिये जो उन के लिये मरा और
फिर जी उठा।” और “17: सो यदि कोई मसीह में है तो वह
नई सृष्टि है: पुरानी बातें बीत गई हैं; देखो,
वे सब नई हो गईं।” अर्थात्, जो लोग प्रभु यीशु के हो गए हैं,
उन से यह आशा रखी जाती है कि वे अब अपने लिए नहीं, परन्तु प्रभु के लिए जीवन व्यतीत करेंगे, और यह
जानते तथा समझते हुए कि प्रभु ने उन्हें एक नई सृष्टि बना दिया है वे फिर लौटकर
अपने पुराने जीवन और व्यवहार में नहीं जाएंगे। प्रभु भोज में भाग लेते समय,
प्रत्येक भाग लेने वाला इस प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराता है और फिर से
इसकी पुष्टि करता है कि वह उसे प्रदान किए गए इस विशेषाधिकार के अनुसार अपना जीवन
व्यतीत करेगा। जब वह भाग लेते समय प्रभु को याद करता है “और धन्यवाद कर के उसे
तोड़ी, और कहा; कि यह मेरी देह
है, जो तुम्हारे लिये है: मेरे स्मरण के लिये यही किया करो।
इसी रीति से उसने बियारी के पीछे कटोरा भी लिया, और कहा;
यह कटोरा मेरे लहू में नई वाचा है: जब कभी पीओ, तो मेरे स्मरण के लिये यही किया करो।” (1
कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25), साथ ही वह इस बात को भी याद करता है
कि अब वह प्रभु परमेश्वर के साथ संगति और सहभागिता में है, और
उसे अपने जीवन से सदा ही इस तथ्य को दिखाना है। जबकि रीति या औपचारिकता निभाने के
लिए बिना किसी प्रतिबद्धता के प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना, ऐसे
भाग लेने वालों को कभी भी इस अभिप्राय को याद नहीं दिलाएगा। लेकिन जिन्हें अपनी
ज़िम्मेदारी और उन से जो आशा की गई है उसका एहसास है, और मेज़
में योग्य रीति से भाग लेते हैं, वे हमेशा ही यह प्रयास करते
रहेंगे कि उनके जीवन से प्रभु द्वारा उन्हें प्रदान किए गए विशेषाधिकार का आदर ही
हो।
इससे
आगे के 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:16-22 के पदों को हम आने वाले लेखों में देखेंगे.
यदि
आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे
हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव
में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के
लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही
शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा
सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के
विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने
और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें
(प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान
द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों
11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप
के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।
यदि
आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो
अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के
पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की
आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए
- उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से
प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ
ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस
प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद
करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया,
उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी
उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को
क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और
मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे
और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए
स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Implications of
Participation (2)
In the previous
article we had begun considering the question that can a Christian Believer
live his own life, or, does participating in the Holy Communion place some
responsibilities on him. To answer this question, we had taken 1 Corinthians 10:16-22,
and started considering it. We saw from verse 16 that it is clearly written
there that on partaking of the Lord’s Table, the Christian Believer comes into
the fellowship of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus, which places upon him
the responsibility that his life and behavior must not provide anyone any opportunity
to disrespect the Lord God, to point fingers at Him in a demeaning manner.
Today, we will consider this thing a bit further, look at some other things
given in this passage.
This
privilege of such close fellowship with the Lord God, by itself requires a
certain decency and responsibility. For this reason, Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:15,17 “15: and He died
for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him
who died for them and rose again.” and “17: Therefore, if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things
have become new.” In other words, those who have become people of the Lord
Jesus are expected to no longer live for themselves but for the Lord, knowing
that the Lord has made them into a new creation; they are not to revert to
their old life and behavior. The participant in the Holy Communion, renews and
affirms his commitment to live in accordance with this privilege that has been
granted to Him, every time he participates. As he remembers the Lord “and
when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is
My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." In the
same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the
new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of
Me."” (1 Corinthians 11:24-25),
he is also to remember that he is now in fellowship with the Lord God, and has
to always demonstrate this through his life. While a ritualistic, non-committal
participation will never make the participants realize this implication; those
who realize what is expected of them and participate worthily, will also strive
to live a life that honors the privilege granted by the Lord to them.
We will consider
the other verses in 1 Corinthians 10:16-22 in the upcoming articles ahead.
If you are a
Christian Believer and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please
examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord,
i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to
the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also
always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you
receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and
veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey
them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets
sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness
render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian
life and your rewards.
If you have not
yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal
life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now.
Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s
blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not
obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your
sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said
voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and
a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You,
and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in
deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my
sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins
for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you,
and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company
and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal
decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and
opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
