बाइबल के अनुसार भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की सेवकाई (2)

पिछले लेख में हमने इफिसियों 4:11 में दी गई 5 प्रकार की सेवकाइयों में से दूसरी, अर्थात भविष्यद्वक्ता होने के बारे में देखना आरम्भ किया था। जैसा हमने प्रेरितों के लिए देखा था, उसी प्रकार से परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त इन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं का जीवन, सेवकाई, तथा व्यवहार -भविष्यद्वक्ताओं का लोगों क प्रति और लोगों का उन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के प्रति, उससे बहुत भिन्न था जैसा हम आज के मनुष्यों द्वारा अथवा स्वयं-नियुक्त तथा-कथित भविष्यद्वक्ताओं में देखते हैं। हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त भविष्यद्वक्ताओं का जीवन कठिनाइयों से भरा होता था, उन्हें सामान्यतः लोगों से तिरस्कार और अपमान का सामना करना पड़ता था, वे लोकप्रिय, धनी, सम्पन्न नहीं होते थे, और यद्यपि उनके सन्देश परमेश्वर की ओर से होते थे कि लोग परमेश्वर के आने वाले प्रकोप से बच जाएं, लेकिन लोग उनके सन्देशों का सामान्यतः या तो तिरस्कार कर देते थे अथवा अनदेखी करते थे। 

किन्तु आज के ईसाई समाज या मसीहियों में, विशेषकर उन में जो परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से अनेकों प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाओं और धारणाओं को मानते और मनाते हैं, औरों को बताते तथा सिखाते हैं, क्योंकि उनमें परमेश्वर के वचन में प्रयोग किए गए “भविष्यद्वक्ता” और “भविष्यवाणी” शब्दों की सही समझ नहीं है, इसलिए ऐसे लोगों के द्वारा परमेश्वर के नाम से कुछ भी “भविष्यवाणी” के रूप में कह देना एक आम बात हो गई है; और “भविष्यद्वक्ता” कहलाए जाने के द्वारा वे लोगों को प्रभावित करने के प्रयास में लगे रहते हैं। “भविष्यद्वक्ता” और “भविष्यवाणी” शब्दों का यह दुरुपयोग न केवल वचन के विरुद्ध है, वरन परमेश्वर की ओर से इसकी भर्त्सना की गई है, और इसे परमेश्वर द्वारा दण्डनीय बताया गया है।

इस संदर्भ में परमेश्वर के वचन से कुछ पद देखिए:

* व्यवस्थाविवरण 18:21-22 और यदि तू अपने मन में कहे, कि जो वचन यहोवा ने नहीं कहा उसको हम किस रीति से पहचानें? तो पहचान यह है कि जब कोई नबी यहोवा के नाम से कुछ कहे; तब यदि वह वचन न घटे और पूरा न हो जाए, तो वह वचन यहोवा का कहा हुआ नहीं; परन्तु उस नबी ने वह बात अभिमान कर के कही है, तू उस से भय न खाना।

* यहेजकेल 13:2-3 हे मनुष्य के सन्तान, इस्राएल के जो भविष्यद्वक्ता अपने ही मन से भविष्यवाणी करते हैं, उनके विरुद्ध भविष्यवाणी कर के तू कह, यहोवा का वचन सुनो। प्रभु यहोवा यों कहता है, हाय, उन मूढ़ भविष्यद्वक्ताओं पर जो अपनी ही आत्मा के पीछे भटक जाते हैं, और कुछ दर्शन नहीं पाया!

* यहेजकेल 13:6-9 वे लोग जो कहते हैं, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, उन्होंने भावी का व्यर्थ और झूठा दावा किया है; और तब भी यह आशा दिलाई कि यहोवा यह वचन पूरा करेगा; तौभी यहोवा ने उन्हें नहीं भेजा। क्या तुम्हारा दर्शन झूठा नहीं है, और क्या तुम झूठमूठ भावी नहीं कहते? तुम कहते हो, कि यहोवा की यह वाणी है; परन्तु मैं ने कुछ नहीं कहा है। इस कारण प्रभु यहोवा तुम से यों कहता है, तुम ने जो व्यर्थ बात कही और झूठे दर्शन देखे हैं, इसलिये मैं तुम्हारे विरुद्ध हूँ, प्रभु यहोवा की यही वाणी है। जो भविष्यद्वक्ता झूठे दर्शन देखते और झूठमूठ भावी कहते हैं, मेरा हाथ उनके विरुद्ध होगा, और वे मेरी प्रजा की गोष्ठी में भागी न होंगे, न उनके नाम इस्राएल की नामावली में लिखे जाएंगे, और न वे इस्राएल के देश में प्रवेश करने पाएंगे; इस से तुम लोग जान लोगे कि मैं प्रभु यहोवा हूँ।

* यिर्मयाह 5:31 भविष्यद्वक्ता झूठमूठ भविष्यवाणी करते हैं; और याजक उनके सहारे से प्रभुता करते हैं; मेरी प्रजा को यह भाता भी है, परन्तु अन्त के समय तुम क्या करोगे?

* यिर्मयाह 14:14 और यहोवा ने मुझ से कहा, ये भविष्यद्वक्ता मेरा नाम ले कर झूठी भविष्यवाणी करते हैं, मैं ने उन को न तो भेजा और न कुछ आज्ञा दी और न उन से कोई भी बात कही। वे तुम लोगों से दर्शन का झूठा दावा कर के अपने ही मन से व्यर्थ और धोखे की भविष्यवाणी करते हैं।

* यिर्मयाह 23:21-22 ये भविष्यद्वक्ता बिना मेरे भेजे दौड़ जाते और बिना मेरे कुछ कहे भविष्यवाणी करने लगते हैं। यदि ये मेरी शिक्षा में स्थिर रहते, तो मेरी प्रजा के लोगों को मेरे वचन सुनाते; और वे अपनी बुरी चाल और कामों से फिर जाते।

* यिर्मयाह 23:30-32 यहोवा की यह वाणी है, देखो, जो भविष्यद्वक्ता मेरे वचन औरों से चुरा चुराकर बोलते हैं, मैं उनके विरुद्ध हूँ। फिर यहोवा की यह भी वाणी है कि जो भविष्यद्वक्ता “उसकी यह वाणी है”, ऐसी झूठी वाणी कहकर अपनी अपनी जीभ डुलाते हैं, मैं उनके भी विरुद्ध हूँ। यहोवा की यह भी वाणी है कि जो बिना मेरे भेजे या बिना मेरी आज्ञा पाए स्वप्न देखने का झूठा दावा कर के भविष्यवाणी  करते हैं, और उसका वर्णन कर के मेरी प्रजा को झूठे घमण्ड में आकर भरमाते हैं, उनके भी मैं विरुद्ध हूँ; और उन से मेरी प्रजा के लोगों का कुछ लाभ न होगा।

* यिर्मयाह 27:15 यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि मैं ने उन्हें नहीं भेजा, वे मेरे नाम से झूठी भविष्यवाणी करते हैं; और इसका फल यही होगा कि मैं तुझ को देश से निकाल दूंगा, और तू उन नबियों समेत जो तुझ से भविष्यवाणी करते हैं नष्ट हो जाएगा।

हम अगले लेख में परमेश्वर के वचन में प्रयोग किए गए “भविष्यद्वक्ता” और “भविष्यवाणी” शब्दों की सही अर्थ को, और उनके आधार पर भविष्यवाणी की सेवकाई की सही समझ देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत समझ और गलत उपयोग से बचें। वचन की सही समझ और सही उपयोग आपके लिए आत्मिक उन्नति और आशीष का कारण होगा, किन्तु गलत समझ और गलत उपयोग बहुत हानिकारक होगा। इसलिए यदि आप किसी गलत शिक्षा अथवा धारणा में पड़े हुए हैं, तो स्थिति को जाँच-परखकर अभी समय और अवसर के रहते उससे बाहर निकल आएं, आवश्यक सुधार कर लें।

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

English Translation

Biblically, The Ministry of the Prophets (2)

In the previous article we began to see about the second of the 5 kinds of ministers given in Ephesians 4:11; i.e., the Prophets. As we had seen about the Apostles, similarly for the Prophets appointed by God, their life, ministry, and the Prophet's behavior - towards the people and of the people towards these Prophets was much different from that which we see amongst the so-called and man or self-appointed 'prophets' of today. We had seen that life of these God appointed Prophets was hard, they usually faced rejection and contempt of the people, they were never popular, never rich and prosperous, and their messages were usually ignored or rejected by the people, despite being messages from God, given for saving the people from God's impending wrath.

But in today’s Christendom and amongst “Believers”, especially amongst those who preach and teach many wrong doctrines and false teachings in the name of God the Holy Spirit, since they do not have a true Biblical understanding of the words “Prophet” and “Prophecy” used in God’s Word, therefore it has become a very common and frivolous thing for them to say anything in the name of God, calling it a “Prophecy” and to try and impress people by being called a “Prophet.” Such misuse of the terms “Prophet” and “Prophecy” is not only against the Word of God, but has also been severely condemned and called seriously punishable in the Bible.

Consider some verses from the Bible about this:

* Deuteronomy 18:21-22 And if you say in your heart, 'How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?' when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

* Ezekiel 13:2-3 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, 'Hear the word of the Lord!' " Thus says the Lord God: "Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

* Ezekiel 13:6-9 They have envisioned futility and false divination, saying, 'Thus says the Lord!' But the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope that the word may be confirmed. Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say, 'The Lord says,' but I have not spoken. Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you, says the Lord God. My hand will be against the prophets who envision futility and who divine lies; they shall not be in the assembly of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God.

* Jeremiah 5:31 The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule by their own power; And My people love to have it so. But what will you do in the end?

* Jeremiah 14:14 And the Lord said to me, "The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.”

* Jeremiah 23:21-22 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My counsel, And had caused My people to hear My words, Then they would have turned them from their evil way And from the evil of their doings.

* Jeremiah 23:30-32 Therefore behold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who steal My words everyone from his neighbor. Behold, I am against the prophets, says the Lord, who use their tongues and say, 'He says.' Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, says the Lord, and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore, they shall not profit this people at all, says the Lord.

* Jeremiah 27:15 for I have not sent them, says the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in My name, that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you.

In the next article, we will see the actual meaning of the terms “Prophet” and “Prophecy” from the Bible, and on that basis come to the correct understanding of these terms and the ministry. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is essential for you to stay safe and away from a wrong understanding and misuse of God’s Word. Having a correct understanding, and properly utilizing God’s word will be a source of growth and blessings for you, but having a wrong understanding and misusing it will bring much and lasting harm. Therefore, if you are caught up in some notion or false teachings, then examine and evaluate the situation, and take the appropriate remedial measures while you have the time and opportunity from God.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

बाइबल के अनुसार भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की सेवकाई (1)

हमने इफिसियों 4:11 से उन पाँच प्रकार के सेवकों और उनकी सेवकाइयों के विषय देखना आरंभ किया है, जिन्हें प्रभु ने अपनी कलीसिया की उन्नति के लिए स्थानीय कलीसियाओं में नियुक्त किया है। जैसा शैतान का स्वभाव और कार्य है, वह प्रभु की हर बात के विषय लोगों में असमंजस, गलत शिक्षाएं, और विरोधाभास डालता रहता है। इन पाँच प्रकार के सेवकों और उनकी सेवकाई को लेकर भी उसने मसीही विश्वासियों, कलीसियाओं, तथा ईसाई समाज में यही कर रखा है। इसी कारण प्रभु के वचन की इन बातों और इन सेवकों के लिए प्रयोग किए गए संज्ञात्मक शब्दों को लेकर लोगों में आज बहुत सी गलत धारणाएं, मान्यताएं, और शिक्षाएं देखी जाती हैं। शैतान द्वारा डाली गई इन भ्रामक बातों की वास्तविकता को समझ कर, इन बातों के विषय वचन की सच्चाई को जानना और समझना हमारे लिए अनिवार्य है। मूल यूनानी भाषा में इन पाँचों सेवकाइयों के लिए प्रयोग किए गए शब्द, वचन की सेवकाई के विभिन्न स्वरूपों को दिखाते हैं।

पिछले लेख में हमने पहले प्रकार के सेवक - प्रेरितों और उनकी सेवकाई के बारे में, वचन में दी गई शिक्षाओं से देखा था कि प्रभु ने ही प्रेरितों को नियुक्त किया, प्रभु का हर शिष्य प्रेरित नहीं कहलाया जाता था, वचन में किसी मनुष्य द्वारा प्रेरितों की नियुक्ति के लिए कोई निर्देश अथवा वांछनीय गुण नहीं दिए गए, और आरंभिक कलीसिया में, जब परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल अपनी संपूर्णता में नहीं लिखी गई थी, तब प्रभु के वचन की शिक्षाओं को सिखाने का दायित्व प्रेरितों को सौंपा गया। प्रभु ने अपने वचन को परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में अपने प्रेरितों और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के द्वारा लिखवाया, और हमें उपलब्ध करवा दिया, और मसीही सेवकों को यह दायित्व सौंपा कि इस वचन को पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई और मार्गदर्शन में औरों को सिखाएं, विशेषकर ऐसे लोगों को जो फिर इसे अन्य लोगों को भी सिखा सकें (2तिमुथियुस 2:2)। इस रीति से आज भी प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता, उनके द्वारा लिखे गए वचन में होकर, हमें प्रभु के वचन की शिक्षाएं देने का कार्य कर रहे हैं। वचन में उन पहले प्रेरितों की सेवकाई और उनके समय के बाद प्रभु द्वारा किसी और के प्रेरित नियुक्त किए जाने का कोई उल्लेख, उदाहरण, या शिक्षा नहीं है। किन्तु शैतान के लिए अवश्य लिखा है कि उसके दूत झूठे प्रेरित बनकर लोगों को बहकाते और भरमाते रहते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15)। इसलिए जो आज अपने आप को प्रेरित कहते हैं, इस सेवकाई को एक उपाधि के समान यश और प्रशंसा प्राप्ति के लिए प्रयोग करते हैं, उनसे सावधान रहने, और उन्हें पिछले लेख में दिए गए प्रेरितों के गुणों और चिह्नों के आधार पर जाँचने, परखने, और तब ही उनके दावे को स्वीकार करना अति-आवश्यक है।

आज के इस लेख में हम इन पाँच में से दूसरे सेवक, भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और उनकी सेवकाई के बारे में वचन के तथ्य देखेंगे। प्रेरितों और उनकी सेवकाई के समान, भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की इस सेवकाई को लेकर भी शैतान ने बहुत सी गलत शिक्षाएं, धारणाएं, और बातें फैला रखी हैं। सामान्यतः, लोग यही समझते और मानते हैं कि बाइबल के अनुसार भविष्यद्वक्ता होने, या भविष्यवाणी करने का अर्थ है भावी कहना या भविष्य की बातें बताना। निःसंदेह परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों के मध्य कुछ लोगों को भविष्य की बातें बताने के लिए सक्षम किया और इसके लिए खड़ा किया; किन्तु परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त और खड़े किए गए ये भविष्यद्वक्ता, अन्य सेवकों और सेवकाइयों की तुलना में, संख्या में बहुत कम और केवल कुछ विशेष परिस्थितियों में ही देखे जाते हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन में परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त ये भविष्यद्वक्ता सामान्यतः हर समय और हर स्थान पर, न तो तब इस्राएलियों में, और न ही आज मसीही समाज में देखे जाते हैं। पुराने नियम में परमेश्वर के लोगों में, इस्राएली या यहूदियों में, और नए नियम में मसीही विश्वासियों और प्रभु यीशु की मण्डली में इन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की सेवकाई मुख्यतः ऐसे समयों पर देखी जाती है जब परमेश्वर के लोग पाप में भ्रष्ट होकर बिगड़ते चले जा रहे थे, परमेश्वर से दूर होते जा रहे थे, और इस बात के लिए उनके आते दण्ड और विनाश के लिए उन्हें चेतावनियाँ देने, उन्हें वापस परमेश्वर की ओर लौट आने के लिए उकसाने को इन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की सेवकाई चेतावनी के वचन को उन्हें पहुँचाने के रूप में रही है। उस दण्ड और विनाश के साथ, परमेश्वर ने अपने प्रेम, उनकी बहाली और आशीषों आदि के विषय भी भविष्यवाणियों में आश्वस्त किया; किन्तु संपूर्ण बाइबल में सभी भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की सेवकाई परमेश्वर से भटके हुए लोगों को परमेश्वर की ओर वापस मुड़ने अन्यथा भारी दण्ड और ताड़ना का सामना से संबंधित ही रही है। नए नियम में भविष्यवाणी की और बाइबल की अंतिम पुस्तक, प्रकाशितवाक्य की पुस्तक में भी सारे संसार के सभी लोगों के लिए इसी विषय की बातों को देखा जाता है। साथ ही, न तो पुराने नियम में, और न ही नए नियम में, परमेश्वर के भविष्यद्वक्ताओं का जीवन कभी भी सहज या आरामदेह नहीं रहा; उन्हें समाज के लोग न तो सराहते थे, न स्वीकार करते थे, और न ही उनकी बातों पर कोई विशेष ध्यान देते थे। किन्तु उनके प्रति इस अपमानजनक व्यवहार और तिरस्कार, उनके गलत समझे जाने और उनके साथ दुर्व्यवहार किए जाने के बावजूद, उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई का दृढ़ होकर और पूरी निष्ठा के साथ निर्वाह करते ही रहना होता था। अर्थात, बाइबल के आधार पर, भविष्यवाणी करना और भविष्यद्वक्ता की ज़िम्मेदारी निभाना कोई हल्की या आम बात नहीं थी; उसके गंभीर अभिप्राय थे, और उसे हमेशा बड़े ध्यान से, परिश्रम के साथ, कठिनाइयों और विपरीत प्रतिक्रियाओं का सामना करते हुए निभाना होता था। बाइबल के प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता कोई धनी, सम्पन्न, आराम और विलासिता का जीवन व्यतीत करने वाले लोग नहीं होते थे, जैसे आज के तथाकथित मनुष्यों द्वारा अथवा स्वयं-नियुक्त 'प्रेरित' और 'भविष्यद्वक्ता' होते हैं, तथा अन्य बनना चाहते हैं।

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Biblically, The Ministry of the Prophets (1)

We have started to consider the five different ministries and workers that the Lord has appointed for the growth and edification of His Church. As is the nature and working of Satan; to misguide and beguile people into wrongs, he always creates confusion, spreads false teachings, and tries to contradict everything related to God and His work. He has done the same about these five ministries and their workers amongst Christian Believers and the Church of the Lord Jesus, and in Christendom. For this reason, today we see many wrong ideas, unBiblical concepts, and false teachings about these things; and these ministries are often used as titles and nouns for the workers carrying out these ministries. It is essential for us to learn, know, and understand the reality about these deceptions brought in by Satan, bearing in mind that in context of the Church and Christian Faith, the words used for these ministries in the original Greek language, show different aspects of the ministry of God’s Word.

In the previous article we had seen about the first kind of workers - the Apostles, and their ministry, from God’s Word. We had seen and learnt that every disciple of the Lord Jesus was not called an “Apostle”; there are no instructions or criteria anywhere in the Bible about appointing of Apostles by men; and in the initial Church, when the Word of God had neither been fully written nor compiled, the responsibility of teachings God’s Word to the Christian Believers was entrusted to the Apostles. The Lord had His Word written through His Prophets and Apostles, and made it available to the Church, and gave the responsibility of teaching the Word to His committed workers, who would teach others, especially to those who would then be able to teach it to others (2 Timothy 2:2). Through this, even today, through the Word of God written by the Apostles and Prophets of the Lord, the Lord God is teaching us His Word. There is no mention, or instruction, or any example, in God’s Word of any more Apostles having been appointed after the Apostles associated with the initial Church completed their time and ministry and passed away. But it has been written about Satan that he and his messengers keep deceiving the people through false apostles appointed by them (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). Therefore, it is essential to be wary of and carefully examine the lives of those who call themselves “Apostles” today, and use this as a title, a status symbol, to gain name, fame, and temporal benefits. We have seen in the previous article the characteristics, qualities, and ways to do this evaluation, and only then accept the claims of being an Apostle.

In today’s article, we will start looking at the Biblical facts about the second of these five ministries and their workers. As he has done for the ministry of the Apostles, similarly, for the ministry of the Prophets too, Satan has spread many wrong doctrines, false teachings and unBiblical concepts and notions. Generally speaking, people assume and believe that to be a prophet and to prophesy means to be able to foretell about the future happenings and events. No doubt that God did enable some amongst His people to be able to foretell things and events in this manner; but, in comparison to the other ministries and works assigned by God, these ‘foretellers’, such prophets were very few and occasional, being raised up by God in certain special circumstances. In God’s Word we see that these ‘foretellers of events’ were not always present, at every place and all times; neither amongst the Jews of the Old Testament, nor amongst the Christian Believers of the New Testament. In the Old Testament, amongst the Jews - the people of God, and in the New Testament, amongst the Christian Believers and the Church of the Lord, the ministry of these ‘foretellers of things and events’ was seen when the people of God got corrupted and drawn away from God because of sin. In such situations, to forewarn them about their impending judgement and the destruction they will have to face if they persisted in their ways, to coax them back towards God and His obedience, God used those “Prophets” and their ministry. Along with warning them about His judgment, God also used the “Prophets” to assure His people about His love for them, for their eventual restoration, and to tell them about the blessings they have in Him. But in the whole of the Bible, the ministry of the “Prophets” was about warning and calling people to turn away from their sins, return back to God, or else, to get ready to face His retribution. Even in the New Testament, in the prophetic book, also the last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation, we can see this very theme, stated for the Christian Believers as well as the people of the world. Moreover, neither in the Old Testament, nor in the New, the ‘Prophets’ of God ever had an easy life or a good time; they were neither appreciated, nor accepted, and hardly anyone paid heed to their message. But despite their being treated shabbily and casually, being mistreated and misunderstood, they had to carry on in their God assigned ministry, unwavering and resolutely. In other words, Biblically speaking, to be a “Prophet” and to “Prophesy” was never something easy and a cause of name and fame, it was not meant to be taken lightly; it was always a very serious responsibility, that had to be fulfilled with utmost diligence and care, facing adverse reactions and circumstances. The Apostles and Prophets of the Bible were never rich, prosperous people living lives of luxury, as the present-day so-called man or self-appointed 'apostles' and 'prophets' usually are, and others wanting to be like them.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के अनुसार, शब्द "प्रेरित" प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी या सेवक के लिए प्रयोग नहीं किया गया था। वचन में बहुत कम लोगों को ही प्रेरित कहा गया; यहाँ तक कि उन लोगों को भी, जिन्हें प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त प्रेरितों के समान सेवकाई सौंपी गई थी, उन्हें भी प्रेरित नहीं कहा गया है। प्रभु यीशु ने जिन्हें चुना और प्रेरित कहा, उनके लिए उसके साथ बने रहने और सेवकाई करने का एक विशेष क्रम भी निर्धारित किया। आज हम इसी विषय को आगे बढ़ाते हुए, प्रेरितों की पहचान करने के बारे में वचन की शिक्षाओं को देखेंगे।  

वचन यह भी संकेत देता है कि उन आरंभिक प्रेरितों की नियुक्ति के पश्चात, फिर कभी कोई अन्य प्रेरित नियुक्त नहीं  किए गए। कलीसियाओं के बढ़ने के साथ, बाद में तीतुस और तिमुथियुस को लिखी गई पत्रियों में जब कलीसिया के कार्यों को संभालने के लिए, कलीसियाओं के सदस्यों द्वारा, अगुवों की नियुक्ति करने के लिए, कलीसिया के उन सेवकों या अगुवों या प्राचीनों के गुणों के बारे में बताया गया (1 तिमुथियुस 3:1-7; तीतुस 1:6-9), तब वहाँ कलीसिया के कार्यों के लिए मनुष्यों द्वारा प्रेरितों के चुनाव के लिए न तो कहा गया (तीतुस 1:5), और न ही तब प्रेरित नियुक्त होने के लिए कोई विशेष गुण लिखवाए गए। रोमियों 16 में, जो पत्री का अंतिम अध्याय है, पौलुस कई सहयोगियों, मित्रों, सहकर्मियों, लोगों को स्मरण करता है, पहले ही पद में फीबे को डीकनेस भी कहता है, किन्तु 16:7 में अपने साथ के पुराने प्रेरितों को छोड़, पौलुस और किसी को प्रेरित नहीं कहता है। इसी प्रकार 1 कुरिन्थियों 16 में भी किसी के प्रेरित होने का उल्लेख नहीं है, जबकि कई लोगों की उनके मसीही जीवन और कार्यों के लिए सराहना की गई है।

    प्रेरितों 1:2-3 में हमें प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त प्रेरितों की पहचान के लिए दिए गए तीन गुण देखते हैं:

1. प्रभु द्वारा आज्ञा पाए हुए (पद 2)

2. प्रभु द्वारा चुने हुए (पद 2)

3. जिन्होंने पुनरुत्थान हुए प्रभु को देखा (पद 3)

पौलुस के जीवन में भी दमिश्क के मार्ग पर उसे मिले प्रभु यीशु के दर्शन के द्वारा ये तीनों बातें पूरी हुई; और इस बात का दावा वह 1 कुरिन्थियों 9:1-2; 15:9 में करता है। इसीलिए बहुतेरों का यह मानना है कि मत्तिय्याह (प्रेरितों 1:26) नहीं वरन पौलुस वह बारहवाँ प्रेरित था जिसे प्रभु ने यहूदा इस्करियोती के स्थान पर नियुक्त किया था, और इसीलिए वचन में पौलुस को प्रेरित कहकर संबोधित भी किया गया है।

जैसे सच्चे प्रेरित थे, वैसे ही शैतान ने अपने लोगों को झूठे प्रेरित बना कर मण्डलियों में मिला दिया (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13) जिससे प्रभु के कार्य को बिगाड़ सकें, लोगों को सच्चाई के मार्ग से भटका सकें। ये झूठे प्रेरित व्यावसायिक प्रचारक थे, जो लोग-लुभावनी बातों का प्रचार करके (2 तिमुथियुस 4:3-4), श्रोताओं से पैसे लेते थे। ये लोगों से सिफारिश की पत्रियाँ या अपनी प्रशंसा के पत्र लिखवाकर साथ लिए फिरते थे, और पौलुस तथा परमेश्वर के अन्य वास्तविक सेवकों द्वारा दी गई शिक्षाओं का विरोध करते थे (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-3)। प्रभु यीशु ने कहा था कि सच्चे और झूठे भविष्यद्वक्ताओं में भिन्नता उनके फलों से पता चल जाएगी (मत्ती 7:16-20)। प्रभु की इसी बात को आधार बनाकर, पौलुस कुरिन्थियों से कहता है कि तुम ही हमारे प्रशंसा-पत्र, हमारे सिफारिशी पत्र हो – तुम्हें देखकर लोग पहचानते हैं कि उन झूठे प्रेरितों की तुलना में तुम्हारे शिक्षक कौन और कैसे थे। अर्थात, प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त उन आरंभिक प्रेरितों के अतिरिक्त, बाद की “प्रेरित” नाम से नियुक्तियाँ, संभवतः शैतान द्वारा की गई थीं, प्रभु द्वारा नहीं; जो आज भी हो रहा है तथा "प्रेरित" होने और उस सेवकाई के विषय लोगों में भ्रम और असमंजस उत्पन्न कर रहा है। उन आरंभिक प्रेरितों के साथ ही प्रेरितों का समय और सेवकाई पूर्ण हो गए। उन प्रेरितों द्वारा परमेश्वर का वचन लिखा गया, सिखाया गया, और उचित प्रयोग के लिए अगली पीढ़ी को सौंप दिया गया (इफिसियों 2:20; 2 तीमुथियुस 2:2, 14-16; 2 पतरस 1:14-19)। आज वचन की शिक्षा पाना, प्रेरितों और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं द्वारा लिखे गए वचन से सीखना ही है, जो वर्तमान में भी प्रेरितों 2:42 की आरंभिक बात की पूर्ति है।

सच्चे और झूठे प्रेरितों की पहचान करने के लिए हम आज उन्हें मरकुस 3:13-15 तथा प्रेरितों 1:1-2 में दिए गए प्रेरित कहलाने वाले शिष्यों के गुणों और बातों के आधार पर, तथा प्रभु द्वारा मत्ती 7:16-20 की पहचान – उनके फलों के द्वारा जाँच सकते हैं। जिस में ये बाते नहीं हैं, वह मसीही सेवकाई के लिए प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त सच्चा प्रेरित भी नहीं है। आज भी यदि कोई अपने आप को प्रेरित कहते हैं, तो उनके जीवनों में इन बातों को भी होना चाहिए, अन्यथा उनका दावा गलत है; वे स्वयं या शैतान के द्वारा नियुक्त प्रेरित तो हो सकते हैं, किन्तु प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त प्रेरित कदापि नहीं होंगे।

परमेश्वर ने हमें भेड़ की खाल में छिपे भेड़ियों की पहचान न कर पाने की स्थिति में नहीं छोड़ा है; उसने अपने वचन में सही पहचान दी है। वह चाहता है कि हम पहले जाँचें, सच्चाई को परखें, और तब स्वीकार करें (1 यूहन्ना 4:1; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो किसी के भी द्वारा किए जाने वाले किसी भी दावे को स्वीकार करने से पहले, उसे परमेश्वर के वचन से जाँच-परख कर देखने, और उसकी वास्तविकता या सच्चाई को स्थापित करने की आदत डाल लें, क्योंकि भटकाने भरमाने वाले लोगों की, प्रभु के नाम और उसकी कलीसिया को अपनी प्रशंसा और कमाई के लिए प्रयोग करने वालों की कोई कमी नहीं है। शैतान द्वारा खड़े किए गए ये “प्रेरित” प्रभु की ओर से नहीं हैं, और उनके जीवन, उनके फल ही उनकी सच्ची पहचान बता देते हैं। प्रभु ने अपने प्रत्येक विश्वासी को अपना पवित्र आत्मा अपने वचन को सिखाने के लिए और गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ने से बचाने के लिए दिया है (1 यूहन्ना 2:27); उसकी सहायता से भरमाए और बहकाए जाएं से बचकर चलें।

The Ministry of the Apostles (2)

We had seen in the last article that according to God's Word the bible, the word "Apostle" has not been used for every Christian Believer or worker. Very few people have been called "Apostles" in the Word; so much so, that even those who were given ministries similar to the ministries of the Apostles appointed by the Lord, even they were not called Apostles. Those, whom the Lord chose and appointed as Apostles, for them He also gave a special sequence of serving Him. Today, we will carry on with this subject and consider the teachings of God's Word about identifying and recognizing an Apostle.

God’s Word also indicates that after the initial appointment of the Apostles, none were ever appointed again as Apostles. As the Churches started to come up and grow at various places, in the letters written to Titus and Timothy, when instructions were given to appoint elders in the Churches for looking after and working in them, God the Holy Spirit, through the Apostle Paul also gave the characteristics and qualities that should be present in those being appointed to the responsibilities (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5, 6-9). But nowhere ever was the appointing of Apostles ever mentioned, nor any characteristics and qualities mentioned for appointing any Apostles. In Romans 16, the last chapter of this book. Paul remembers and greets many of his colleagues, friends, co-workers, and other people; in the very first verse he commends Phoebe calling her the “deaconess” of that Church, but in Romans 16:7, other than the former appointed Apostles, he does not call anyone else an Apostle. Similarly, in 1 Corinthians 16, Paul does not mention any Apostle, although he appreciates and commends many people for their Christian Faith and living.

In Acts 1:2-3, we have three criteria to recognize an Apostle:

1. Received commandments from the Lord (verse 2)

2. Chosen by the Lord Jesus (verse 2)

3. Have seen the resurrected Lord (verse 3)

In the life of Paul, through the vision of the Lord Jesus that he had on the road to Damascus, these three criteria were fulfilled, as he claims in 1 Corinthians 9:1-2; 15:9; therefore, it is believed that he, not Matthias (Acts 1:26), was actually the twelfth Apostle chosen by the Lord to replace Judas Iscariot, and therefore, Paul is addressed as an Apostle as well.

As were the true Apostles, similarly, Satan too has infiltrated his people as false apostles in the Assemblies or Churches (2 Corinthians 11:13), to corrupt and spoil the work of the Lord and mislead people away from the way of truth. These false apostles were “professional preachers” who used to charge fees, take money, and preach to teach that which the people liked to hear (2 Timothy 4:3-4). They used to move around obtaining and carrying letters of commendation from their audience, and used to oppose the preaching and teaching of God’s people like Paul (2 Corinthians 3:1-3). The Lord Jesus Christ had said that the true and false prophets can be recognized by their fruits (Matthew 7:16-20). On the basis of this assertion of the Lord Jesus, Paul says to the Church in Corinth, that you are our living letters of commendation - through you people come to realize, in contrast to the false teachers and apostles, who and of what kind your teachers were. In other words, quite likely, after the Lord had appointed the initial Apostles, as the Church began to grow and spread, Satan too brought in his people as “apostles”, which is still happening today and causing the confusion about this ministry of being an “Apostle”. Whereas, in reality, with the passing away of the Lord’s appointees as Apostles, the time and necessity of “Apostles” also came to an end, but their ministry in the Church of the Lord Jesus continues through the Word of God that they taught, wrote, and passed on for posterity of the Christian Believers and the Church of the Lord Jesus (Ephesians 2:20; 2 Timothy 2:2, 14-16; 2 Peter 1:14-19). Today, learning God’s Word, is through the Word written for us by the Prophets and Apostles of the Lord God, which also fulfills the requirement of Acts 2:42.

Today, through Mark 3:13-15 and Acts 1:1-2, and through the Lord’s instruction of Matthew 7:16-20, to know them by their fruits, we have very clear and unambiguous God given criteria for discerning and identifying true and false apostles. If these characteristics and criteria are not present in a person claiming to be an “Apostle”, then he is not actually a Lord appointed Apostle either. If anyone claims to be an Apostle today, then these characteristics and criteria from God’s Word should also be seen in his life, else their claims are false; they can be self or Satan appointed apostles, but never the Lord appointed Apostles.

The Lord has not left us in any doubt about being able to recognize “wolves in sheep’s clothing”; He has given us the required means to do this. It is the Lord’s will that we first check and evaluate, discern and know the truth, and only then accept any of the claims being made by anyone (1 John 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:21).

If you are a Christian Believer, then before you accept any claim being made by anyone, check and evaluate it carefully through God’s Word. Make it a habit to always first verify through God’s Word, and only then accept any claims or teachings, since there is no dearth of false teachers and preachers, those who misguide and mislead through false teachings in the name of the Lord, and use the name of the Lord and the Church for their personal benefit and acquiring temporal gains. These false apostles, set up by Satan, can well be identified by their lives, the “fruits” they bear. The Lord has given His Holy Spirit to each and every one of His true Believer, to learn His word and stay safe from falling into wrong teachings (1 John 2:27); therefore, through His help keep yourself safe and avoid being misled and misguided.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

पिछले लेख में हमने इफिसियों 4:11 से उन पाँच प्रकार के सेवकों और सेवकाइयों के विषय देखा था, जिन्हें प्रभु ने अपनी कलीसिया की उन्नति के लिए स्थानीय कलीसियाओं में नियुक्त किया है। मूल यूनानी भाषा में, कलीसिया और मसीही विश्वास के संदर्भ में, इन पाँचों सेवकाइयों के लिए प्रयोग किए गए शब्द, वचन की सेवकाई के विभिन्न स्वरूपों को दिखाते हैं। हम बारी-बारी इन पाँचों को कुछ विस्तार से देखेंगे। पिछले लेख में हमने बाइबल की प्रेरितों के काम पुस्तक में से आरंभिक कलीसिया के प्रसार और बढ़ोतरी के इतिहास, तथा कुछ अन्य पदों से, और प्रकाशितवाक्य 2 और 3 अध्याय में उल्लेखित सात कलीसियाओं के उदाहरणों से देखा था कि कलीसिया तथा मसीही जीवन की उन्नति और बढ़ोतरी तब ही देखी गई जब वे प्रभु और उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता में बने रहे। वचन में मिलावट करना, उसके साथ समझौता करना, और सच्चे समर्पण के स्थान पर किसी मत या डिनॉमिनेशन के नियमों, रीतियों, परंपराओं आदि की औपचारिकता के निर्वाह पर उतर आना और उसे मसीही विश्वास एवं जीवन का निर्वाह समझ लेना, सदा ही हानि और विनाश का कारण रहा है।

पिछले लेख के अंत में हमने यह भी देखा था कि मत्ती 28:19-20, और प्रेरितों 2:42 के आरंभिक वाक्यांश के अनुसार, मसीही विश्वासियों और कलीसियाओं में प्रभु यीशु के वचन की शिक्षा देने का दायित्व प्रभु के शिष्यों, प्रभु द्वारा नियुक्त प्रेरितों (लूका 6:13) को दिया गया था। इसी प्रकार से, इफिसियों 4:11 में वचन से संबंधित प्रथम सेवकाई भी “प्रेरितों” की कही गई है। वर्तमान में, शब्द “प्रेरित” को लेकर बहुत असमंजस और कई प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाएं देखने को मिलती हैं। आज बहुत से प्रचारकों ने अपने आप को “प्रेरित” कहना आरंभ कर दिया है, और इसे वे अपने लिए एक सम्मान के स्थान, मसीही समाज एवं चर्च में उच्च-स्तर और आदर का स्थान एवं सूचक होने के लिए प्रयोग करते हैं। इसलिए, आज हम “प्रेरित” शब्द को परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से कुछ विस्तार से देखेंगे।

मूल यूनानी भाषा में प्रयुक्त जिस शब्द का अनुवाद प्रेरित किया गया है, उस शब्द का अर्थ है “विशेष अधिकार के साथ नियुक्त किया हुआ”, और यह संज्ञा सर्वप्रथम स्वयं प्रभु ने ही अपने कुछ शिष्यों को दी थी। यह एक सामान्यतः अनदेखी की जाने वाली, किन्तु वास्तव में एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात है कि प्रभु ने अपने सभी शिष्यों को कभी भी, कहीं भी प्रेरित नहीं कहा; वरन अपने सभी शिष्यों में से जिन बारह को उसने विशेषकर चुना था, उन्हें ही यह संज्ञा दी (चुनाव - लूका 6:12-16; पद 13); और सुसमाचारों में अन्त तक उन्हीं बारह के लिए ही “प्रेरित” शब्द प्रयोग किया गया (पकड़वाए जाने से पहले फसह का पर्व – लूका 22:14; पुनरुत्थान के बाद एकत्रित लोगों को बताना – लूका 24:9-10)। इन बारहों के चुने जाँ जाने बाद, प्रभु ने उन्हें सेवकाई के लिए भेज (मत्ती 10:5); कुछ समय के बाद, प्रभु सत्तर अन्य शिष्यों को भी वैसी ही सेवकाई के लिए भेजा (लूका 10:1), किन्तु इन सत्तर को न तो प्रभु ने प्रेरित कहा और न ही बाइबल में उनके लिए यह शब्द प्रयोग किया गया। अर्थात, स्वयं प्रभु यीशु के इस शब्द के प्रयोग के अनुसार, प्रभु का प्रत्येक शिष्य, प्रभु यीशु की ओर से, “प्रेरित” नहीं था। और इन बारह को चुनने के पीछे, उनके लिए प्रभु का विशेष अभिप्राय था। जिन्हें प्रभु ने “प्रेरित” कहा था, उन्हें उसके अन्य शिष्यों से कुछ भिन्न होना था, जैसा कि मरकुस 3:13-15 में उनके लिए दिया गया है:

– वे उसके साथ रहें;

– वे उसके द्वारा भेजे जाने के लिए तैयार रहें – जब और जहाँ प्रभु भेजे;

– वे प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार प्रचार करें; और दुष्टात्माओं को निकालने का अधिकार रखें।

इन तीनों बातों के कहे जाने के क्रम का भी महत्व है; अकसर लोग अंतिम बात, प्रचार करने और आश्चर्यकर्म करने की सेवकाई के पीछे भागते हैं, किन्तु प्रभु के साथ समय बिताने, और उसके कहे के अनुसार जाकर उसके द्वारा बताए गए कार्य को करने की इच्छा नहीं रखते हैं। किन्तु यहाँ दिए गए क्रम में प्रेरित को, या प्रभु के उस विशिष्ट शिष्य को, सबसे पहले प्रभु के साथ रहने वाला होना है, फिर उसके कहे के अनुसार करने वाला होना है, और तब ही प्रभु से प्रचार या आश्चर्यकर्मों को करने की सामर्थ्य पाने की लालसा रखनी है।

बाद में नए नियम में शब्द “प्रेरित” का प्रयोग दूसरे रूप में भी किया गया है – एक तो प्रेरित वे थे जिन्हें प्रभु ने नियुक्त किया था; और इस शब्द का दूसरा प्रयोग कुछ विशेष सन्देश-वाहकों के लिए आया है, जैसे कि बरनबास (प्रेरितों 14:14), प्रभु का भाई याकूब (गलातियों 1:19), संभवतः सिलास (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:6 और 1:1 को साथ देखें), आदि। किन्तु प्रभु के प्रत्येक सेवक को भी, कभी भी, प्रेरित नहीं कहा गया – और तिमुथियुस, तीतुस, फिलेमोन, उनेसिमुस, इपफ्रूदितुस, आदि महत्वपूर्ण और प्रशंसनीय कार्य करने वाले, महत्वपूर्ण भूमिकाएं और ज़िम्मेदारियाँ निभाने वाले सेवकों के लिए भी प्रेरित शब्द नहीं प्रयोग किया गया है।

कलीसिया के कार्यों और देखभाल के लिए नियुक्त किए गए लोगों में भी परमेश्वर के द्वारा प्रेरितों को नियुक्त करने का उल्लेख है (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28-29; इफिसियों 4:11)। कलीसिया के कार्यों से संबंधित “प्रेरितों” के लिए इन दोनों पत्रियों – कुरिन्थियों और इफिसियों, में स्पष्ट आया है कि उन्हें परमेश्वर ने नियुक्त किया था; वे किसी मनुष्य की नियुक्ति नहीं थे – यह भी बहुत संभव है कि ये प्रेरित, प्रभु द्वारा आरंभ में नियुक्त किए गए वे शिष्य रहे हों, जिन्हें तब प्रभु ने “प्रेरित” कहा था, और अब उन्हें प्रभु द्वारा कलीसियाओं की रखवाली की ज़िम्मेदारी भी दे दी गई।

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

English Translation

The Ministry of the Apostles (1)

In the previous article we had seen from Ephesians 4:11 about five kinds of ministries and workers that the Lord has appointed for the growth of the local Church. In context of the Church and Christian Faith, the original Greek language words used in the verse, are all related to the various forms of ministry related to God’s Word. We will look at these five ministries, one-by-one, in some detail. In the last article, from the Book of Acts in the Bible we had seen some historical facts about the propagation and growth of the initial Church, and from the Book of Revelation had seen the examples of the seven Churches mentioned in chapters 2 and 3. We had seen that the growth and edification of the Church and Christian Believer was only seen when they remained obedient to the Lord and His Word. Any corruption of God’s Word, any compromises with it, and living by the rules, regulations, rites, rituals, and traditions of any group, sect, or denomination, and fulfilling their formalities, instead of following God’s Word, always resulted in harm and destruction of the Christian Believer and the Church.

At the end of the previous article, we had also seen that according to Matthew 28:19-20, and the first part of Acts 2:42, the responsibility of teaching God’s Word to those initial Christian Believers and the Churches was entrusted by the Lord Jesus to His disciples, called the Apostles (Luke 6:13).  Similarly, in Ephesians 4:11 also, the first workers and ministry mentioned is of the Apostles. Presently, there are many notions, wrong doctrines, and false teachings about the term “Apostles” causing a lot of confusion amongst the people. Today many people and preachers have started to call themselves “Apostles”, using this term as an honorable title to indicate their having a high status and position of respect in their local Church or Assembly. Therefore, we will look about being an Apostle in some detail from God’s Word.

The word used in the original Greek language, and translated as Apostle literally means “someone appointed with some special authority and responsibility”, and it was the Lord Jesus who called some of His disciples with this name. It is a very important but commonly overlooked and ignored fact of God’s Word that the Lord Jesus did not ever call all of His disciples “Apostles”; rather, only the twelve that He called out of the many disciples, were called Apostles by Him (Luke 6:12-16; see verse 13); and in the Gospels, till the end, only these twelve were called Apostles (In the Passover feast - Luke 22:14; Informing others after the resurrection - Luke 24:9-10). Soon after appointing the chosen twelve, the Lord sent them out for ministry (Matthew 10:5); then, later the Lord sent seventy others for a similar ministry (Luke 10:1), but these seventy have not been called Apostles, either by the Lord or in the Bible text. In other words, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself never considered all of His disciples to be Apostles. The Lord had a very special purpose in His choosing these twelve, whom He called Apostles; they were to be special and different from the rest of the disciples in some responsibilities, as is given in Mark 3:13-15 about them, that:

- Be with Him;

- Be ready and prepared to be sent out by Him - as and when He decides to send them;

- Should be willing to preach as per the Lord’s instructions, and have authority to cast out demons.

The sequence in which these three things have been mentioned is also important; very often, the people run after and claim the last thing stated here - cast out demons and claim authority as “Apostles”. But hardly anyone is desirous of the preceding things - spending time with the Lord, being ready and prepared to go when and where the Lord sends them, and do what He tells them to do. But as is evident from the sequence given in these verses, the Apostles, or these special disciples of the Lord, were first and foremost to be those who would be with Him, then be those who did what the Lord asked them to do, and only then would they have the authority from the Lord to preach and do miracles in His name.

Later on, in the New Testament, the word “Apostle” has also been used in a different form; as for some (not all) of those who were the messengers e.g., Barnabas (Acts 14:14), James - the brother of the Lord (Galatians 1:19), and possible Silas (consider 1 Thessalonians 2:6 along with 1:1), etc. But never, anywhere in the Bible has every worker for the Lord ever been called an “Apostle”, not even the important, hardworking, trustworthy, and commendable workers like Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Onesimus, Epaphroditus, etc.

Though the term “Apostle” has also been used for people entrusted with work in the Church and for taking care of the Church (1 Corinthians 12:28-29; Ephesians 4:11), but it is also very clearly said in both these places, i.e., the letters to the Corinthians and to the Ephesians, that they had been appointed by God, and not by any man. It is quite possible that these “Apostles” mentioned here were from the same twelve that had initially been appointed by the Lord as “Apostles”, and now they were being given responsibilities in the Church to take care of the Church.
