पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था की प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने हमारे लिए व्यवस्था को पूरा कर के उसकी विधियों के लेख को, अर्थात विभिन्न बलिदानों, रीतियों, पर्वों के निर्वाह को हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है। इसे समझने के लिए हमने कुलुस्सियों 2:13-17, विशेषकर, पद 14 और 16 से देखा था। किन्तु साथ ही हमने मत्ती 22:35-40 और लूका 10:28, विशेषकर लूका 10:28 से, उस व्यवस्थापक या शास्त्री से, जिसने व्यवस्था के पालन का प्रश्न उठाया था, वार्तालाप के अन्त में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा ज़ोर देकर उससे व्यवस्था के सही अभिप्राय के निर्वाह के लिए भी कहने, अर्थात्, परमेश्वर तथा मनुष्यों के साथ एक सही सम्बन्ध में आकर उसका ठीक से निर्वाह करते रहने के विरदेश को भी समझा था। हमने इन  बातों से समझा था कि प्रभु यीशु ने जिन बातों को पूरा करके क्रूस पर ठोक दिया है, हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है, वे दिनों, पर्वों, बहेतों, बलिदानों, आदि - छाया मात्र का निर्वाह करना है। परन्तु व्यवस्था, अर्थात्, परमेश्वर और मनुष्यों के साथ सही सम्बन्ध में आना और जीना, वह अभी भी सभी मनुष्यों के लिये, मसीही विश्वासियों के लिये भी, लागू है। अब जो बदला है, वह है व्यवस्था के निर्वाह का तरीका - अब यह प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने और उसके प्रतिबद्ध शिष्य का जीवन जीने - अर्थात्, किसी प्रकार के कर्मों के द्वारा नहीं, बल्कि प्रभु को समर्पित और उसमें विश्वास का जीवन जीने के द्वारा है।

 

इसी प्रकार से अब एक अन्य सम्बन्धित पद, रोमियों 10:4 को भी देखिए, “क्योंकि हर एक विश्वास करने वाले के लिये धामिर्कता के निमित मसीह व्यवस्था का अन्त है।” यहाँ पर भी कोई विरोधाभास नहीं है। जैसा हमने पहले के लेखों में देखा था, व्यवस्था की ये बातें, जिन्हें प्रभु ने पूरा करके हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है, वे हमारे शिक्षक के समान थीं, जिन्होंने हमें पाप, उसकी जवाबदेही, उसके परिणामों, और केवल उद्धारकर्ता पर विश्वास के द्वारा पापों से निवारण की बातों को सिखाकर, परमेश्वर के लोगों को अब्राहम से प्रतिज्ञा किए गए “उसके वंश,” जगत के उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु यीशु मसीह के हाथों में सौंप दिया है (उत्पत्ति 12:1-3; गलातियों 3:16-18, 25-28)। अब उस शिक्षक का कार्य और भूमिका पूरे होकर समाप्त हो गए हैं। इससे आगे जो भी है, वह प्रभु यीशु में और उसके द्वारा ही है, अन्य किसी व्यक्ति या बात से नहीं। इसीलिए मनुष्य को धर्मी बनाने के लिए, “धामिर्कता के निमित मसीह व्यवस्था का अन्त है”; दूसरे शब्दों में, अब इसके आगे व्यवस्था की उन बातों की, जो उसकी छाया, उसकी ओर संकेत करने वाली बातें थीं, जिन्हें मसीह द्वारा पूरा करके हटा दिया गया है, उनकी अब कोई भूमिका नहीं रह गई है, उनका अन्त हो गया है। अब जो धार्मिकता है, वह मसीह यीशु में विश्वास की धार्मिकता है, “कि यदि तू अपने मुंह से यीशु को प्रभु जानकर अंगीकार करे और अपने मन से विश्वास करे, कि परमेश्वर ने उसे मरे हुओं में से जिलाया, तो तू निश्चय उद्धार पाएगा। क्योंकि धामिर्कता के लिये मन से विश्वास किया जाता है, और उद्धार के लिये मुंह से अंगीकार किया जाता है” (रोमियों 10:9-10)।

किन्तु इन विधियों के लेख को पूरा कर के हटा लिए जाने से, प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के लिये व्यवस्था की, उसकी सही परिभाषा के अनुसार निर्वाह करने की आवश्यकता; अर्थात् परमेश्वर के साथ मेल-मिलाप और सम्बन्ध बहाल करने की अनिवार्यता समाप्त नहीं हुई है। प्रत्येक व्यक्ति द्वारा व्यक्तिगत रीति से, स्वेच्छा से, अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने, मसीह यीशु से उनके लिए क्षमा माँगने, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित करके उसका प्रतिबद्ध और आज्ञाकारी शिष्य बन जाने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के साथ अपने संबंधों को ठीक कर लेना अनिवार्य है। वरन्  और दृढ़ता से स्थापित हो गई है तथा इसकी पुष्टि हो गई है “​सो जब हम विश्वास से धर्मी ठहरे, तो अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा परमेश्वर के साथ मेल रखें” (“रोमियों 5:1)। परमेश्वर के साथ हुए हमारे इस मेल-मिलाप को उन्नत करते जाने के लिए हमें अब किसी “विधियों के लेख” का पालन करने की नहीं, वरन प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाकारिता और समर्पण में चलते रहने की आवश्यकता है “और वह इस निमित्त सब के लिये मरा, कि जो जीवित हैं, वे आगे को अपने लिये न जीएं परन्तु उसके लिये जो उन के लिये मरा और फिर जी उठा” (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:15)।

इसलिए आज भी मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए “व्यवस्था” का, उसकी सही परिभाषा और वास्तविक अर्थ में पालन करने की उतनी ही आवश्यकता है, व्यवस्था की मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है, जितनी पहले थी। परमेश्वर का वचन, उसकी बातें कभी बदलती या टलती नहीं हैं; न परमेश्वर कभी बदलता है, और न उसका वचन कभी बदलता है “क्योंकि मैं यहोवा बदलता नहीं; इसी कारण, हे याकूब की सन्तान तुम नाश नहीं हुए” (मलाकी 3:6); “हे यहोवा, तेरा वचन, आकाश में सदा तक स्थिर रहता है। तेरी सच्चाई पीढ़ी से पीढ़ी तक बनी रहती है; तू ने पृथ्वी को स्थिर किया, इसलिये वह बनी है” (भजन 119:89-90)। और व्यवस्था भी, उसके सही स्वरूप और अर्थ में, मसीह यीशु में होकर हमेशा निर्वाह किये जाने के लिये दी है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 29:29; 2 राजाओं 17:37; भजन 119:44; इब्रानियों 7:28)।

  

अगले लेख से हम आशीषित और सफल जीवन के बारे में एक नई शृंखला आरंभ करेंगे। यदि आप अपने आप को किसी भी प्रकार की “व्यवस्था” - वह चाहे परमेश्वर की हो, या आपके धर्म, मत, समुदाय, या डिनॉमिनेशन की हो - के पालन के द्वारा धर्मी बनाने के, और अपने शरीर के कार्यों के द्वारा अपने आप को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बनाने के प्रयासों में लगे हैं; तो ध्यान देकर समझ लीजिए कि परमेश्वर का वचन स्पष्ट बताता है कि रीति के समान व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, वरन, परमेश्वर के दिए हुए पश्चाताप और समर्पण करने के मार्ग का पालन करने के द्वारा ही आप परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी और उसे स्वीकार्य बन सकते हैं। अभी समय और अवसर रहते सही मार्ग अपना लें, और व्यर्थ तथा निष्फल मार्ग को छोड़ दें।

   

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Law & Living the Christian Faith – 2

 

In the previous article we had seen that the Lord Jesus has fulfilled and put away for us the requirements of the Law, i.e., the observance and fulfilling various sacrifices, feasts, festivals etc. To understand this, we had seen from Colossians 2:13-17, specifically, verses 14 and 16. We had also seen from Matthew 22:35-40 and Luke 10:25-28, particularly from Luke 10:28, and understood about the Lord’s categorical instruction to the Scribe who had raised the question of observing the Law, that he should continue to observe the correct meaning, or, the actual purpose of the Law, i.e., to come into and live in a right relationship with God and man. We had understood from these that what the Lord had fulfilled, nailed to the Cross and removed for us, were the days, feasts, festivals, sacrifices, etc. - the shadows. But the actual Law, i.e., coming into and living in a right relationship with God and man still remains in place for everyone, even the Christian Believers. What has now changed is the way this Law is lived out - through coming to faith in Christ Jesus and living a life of being His committed and obedient disciple - i.e., not by any kind of works, but by submission to the Lord and faith in Him.

 

Similarly, now consider another related verse, Romans 10:4, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Even here, there is no contradiction. As we have seen in the previous articles, these things of the Law, which the Lord has accomplished and removed from us, were like our teacher, who taught us about sin, our accountability for sin, its consequences, and deliverance from sin through faith in the Savior alone and has handed over God's people to the promised “seed of Abraham,” Lord Jesus Christ, the promised Savior of the world (Genesis 12:1-3; Galatians 3:16-18, 25-28). Now the work and role of that teacher have been completed. Whatever is beyond this, is in and through the Lord Jesus, not anything or anyone else. That is why in order to make man righteous, "Christ is the end of the law for righteousness"; In other words, now those things of the Law, which were shadows of Christ, indicators pointing to Him, have been fulfilled and done away with by Christ, they no longer have any role, they have come to an end. The righteousness that now exists, is the righteousness of faith in Christ Jesus, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10).

But the fulfillment and taking away of these requirements of the Law, has not taken away the necessity of observing the Law, in its correct definition and understanding, by every person; i.e., the essential requirement of being reconciled with God and be restored in fellowship with Him has not come to an end. Every person must personally, voluntarily, repent of their sins, ask the Lord Jesus to forgive sins, and surrender their life to the Lord Jesus, and having become His committed and obedient disciple, to then continually live in that relationship. Rather, this application of the Law has been even more firmly established and confirmed “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). In order to continually maintain and develop this peace and reconciliation with God, we no longer need to follow any "requirements of the Law" but to walk in obedience and submission to the Lord Jesus "and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again" (2 Corinthians 5:15).

That's why there is just as much need for Christians today to follow the "Law" in its true definition and actual meaning, and it has an as important role in the life of Christian faith as it had earlier. The Word of God, His words never alter or change; God never changes, and his Word never changes “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob" (Malachi 3:6); “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides" (Psalm 119:89-90). And, the Law too, has been given to be observed always, through Christ Jesus (Deuteronomy 29:29; 2 Kings 17:37; Psalm 119:44; Hebrew 7:28).

 

From the next article we will start a new series on living a Blessed and Successful Life. If you consider yourself righteous and acceptable to God by observance of any kind of “law”—whether of God, or of your religion, creed, community, or denomination—and by the works of your flesh; then, pay heed and understand that God's Word clearly states that you can become righteous and acceptable to God, not by keeping the ritualistic requirements of the Law, but by following God's path of repentance and submission. Now, while you have the time and opportunity, take the right step, and leave the useless and fruitless path that you may have been walking upon till now.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम परमेश्वर की आराधना करने के लाभ तथा प्राप्त होने वाली बातों के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं, और यह भी देखा है कि परमेश्वर क्यों चाहता है कि उसके लोगों की प्राथमिकता आराधक बनना हो, न कि वे केवल प्रार्थना करने वाले ही बने रहें। पिछले दो लेखों में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार से आराधना हमारी प्रार्थनाओं को प्रभावी बनाती है तथा परमेश्वर में हमारे भरोसे को दृढ़ बनाए रखती है और उन्नत करती है, जिससे फिर हम शैतान द्वारा परमेश्वर, उसके वचन, और उसके कार्यों पर अविश्वास तथा संदेहों में फँसाए जाकर पाप में गिर जाने से बचे रहते हैं। आज हम एक और लाभ के बारे में देखेंगे, जो हमारे व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन और प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास के जीवन के साथ संबंधित है; अर्थात्, स्वेच्छा से प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने के द्वारा उद्धार पाने के सुसमाचार को फैलाना। यह एक ऐसी बात है जो प्रभु यीशु के सभी शिष्यों के लिये अनिवार्य है, क्योंकि यह प्रभु यीशु मसीह की, उसके सभी शिष्यों के लिए दी गई आज्ञा है (मत्ती 28:19-20; प्रेरितों 1:8)।

    यह आज की कलीसियाओं में पाई जाने वाली इस आम धारणा के विपरीत है कि यह करना केवल पास्टर या सेमनरी से प्रशिक्षण पाए हुए लोगों का कार्य है, कलीसिया के सभी सदस्यों का नहीं! जब प्रभु यीशु ने यह आज्ञा दी थी, उस समय न तो कोई सेमनरी थीं और न ही मसीही प्रशिक्षण के कोई पाठ्यक्रम, लेकिन फिर भी सभी लोगों को हर परिस्थिति में यह करना ही था (प्रेरितों 8:3-4)। यह प्रभु की आज्ञा है कि जो कोई भी विश्वास के द्वारा उसका शिष्य बने, वह सुसमाचार का प्रचारक भी हो। हम यह कार्य मात्र औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए, या एक काम करने भर के लिए कर सकते हैं, और तब यह अप्रभावी तथा व्यर्थ होगा; या हम इसे प्रभावी और सार्थक रीति से कर सकते हैं। जो लोग प्रभु यीशु के शिष्य बनते हैं, उनके द्वारा सुसमाचार प्रचार और प्रसार की यह सेवकाई केवल प्रार्थना ही के द्वारा नहीं, वरन साथ ही आराधना के द्वारा सार्थक और प्रभावी होती है, जैसा कि हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में दिये गये उदाहरणों से देखते हैं।

    प्रभु यीशु ने अपने क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के सन्दर्भ में कहा था कि जब वह ऊंचे पर चढ़ाया जाएगा तब सभी लोगों को अपने पास खींचेगा (यूहन्ना 12:32); इस कथन का प्रतीकात्मक अर्थ एवं उपयोग भी है - जब हम प्रभु यीशु का गुणानुवाद करते हैं, उसे अपनी आराधना के द्वारा अपने जीवन और व्यवहार में ऊँचे पर उठाते हैं, तो यह लोगों को प्रभु की ओर आकर्षित करता है और सुसमाचार प्रचार करना सहज, तथा और भी अधिक प्रभावी बना देता है।

    हम प्रेरितों 16 अध्याय में पौलुस और सीलास के फिलिप्पी में जेल में डाले जाने की घटना से देखते हैं कि अपनी उस समय की कष्टप्रद और दुःखद विपरीत परिस्थिति - ऐसी स्थिति जिसमें सामान्यतः लोग असभ्य भाषा तथा परमेश्वर के प्रति अपमानजनक शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हैं, में भी जब उन्होंने प्रभु की स्तुति और आराधना की, भजन गाए, तो न केवल उनके अपने बंधन खुल गए बल्कि वे वहाँ के दारोगा और उसके परिवार को भी प्रभु की ओर आकर्षित कर सके, उन्हें प्रभु में ला सके और फिलिप्पी की कलीसिया की स्थापना हो गई। यदि पौलुस और सिलास आराधना नहीं कर रहे होते, यदि वे शान्त ही पड़े रहते, तो अन्य बंदी तथा दारोगा प्रभु की ओर आकर्षित नहीं होते। यह आराधना ही थी जिसने न केवल उनके बंधन खोल दिए, वरन लोगों के हृदय भी खोल दिये कि वे यीशु को प्रभु ग्रहण कर सके - उनकी आराधना ने सुसमाचार को सहज और प्रभावी बना दिया।

    हम अगले लेख में भी परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में से कुछ अन्य उदाहरणों को देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए – उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

    For the past few articles, we have been looking at the benefits and gains of worshipping God, and why God wants His people to primarily be worshippers, and not just those who only pray. In the last two articles we have seen how worshipping makes our prayers effective and also helps in developing and maintaining our trust in God; which, in turn, makes us far less vulnerable to Satan’s ploys of making us fall into sin because of doubts and unbelief about God, about His Word, and His works. Today we will look at another benefit related to our practical Christian life of faith in the Lord Jesus, i.e., spreading the Gospel of salvation through voluntarily coming into faith in the Lord Jesus. Doing this is mandatory for the disciples of the Lord Jesus, since it is the Lord’s commandment for all of His disciples (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).

    This is contrary to the quite commonly held belief in the churches that doing this is for the Pastors or those with Seminary training, and not for the general church congregation! When the Lord Jesus gave this commandment, there were no Seminaries nor any training courses, but every Believer was to do it whatever be the circumstances (Acts 8:3-4). It was the Lord’s commandment that all those who become His disciples by faith, should also spread the good news of salvation. We can do this as merely fulfilling a formality, i.e., simply as a duty to be fulfilled, therefore ineffectively and vainly; or we can do it meaningfully and effectively. For those who become the Lord’s disciples, this ministry of preaching and spreading the Gospel is made effective through not just praying, but also through worshipping God, as we see from the examples given in God’s Word, the Bible.

    The Lord Jesus, in context of His crucifixion had said that when He is lifted up, He will draw people to Him (John 12:32); but this also has a figurative implication – when we exalt the Lord, when we lift Him up on high in and through our lives, behavior, and words, that attracts the people to Him, and preaching the Gospel becomes easier and more effective.

    We see in the instance of Paul and Silas in jail in Philippi, in Acts 16 – when they sang, praised and worshipped the Lord in their painful and adverse situation – a situation in which people usually use foul language and derogatory expressions against God, not only were they set free from their own bonds, but they could draw the Jailer and his family to the Lord, and the Church in Philippi started off. Had Paul and Silas not been worshipping, even if they had just remained silent in their pain and discomfort, the Jailer and the prisoners would not have got attracted to the Lord. It was worship that not only set them free from their bonds, but also opened the hearts of the hearers, to receive Jesus as Lord – worship made sharing the gospel easier and effective.

God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so – the decision is yours.

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि सभी इस्राएलियों के लिए, यह वैकल्पिक नहीं, वरन्  अनिवार्य था कि वे फसह के पर्व में भाग लें। उन्हें यह रीति के समान, या औपचारिकता के समान नहीं, बल्कि योग्य रीति से करना था, अपने मध्य से सारे खमीर को, जो बाइबल में पाप का प्रतीक है, को पूर्णतः हटा देने के बाद। इसी प्रकार से, शिष्यों के साथ मेज की स्थापना करते समय प्रभु ने, और बाद में पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली को लिखत हुए, पौलुस ने भी, यह स्पष्ट कर दिया, कि प्रभु के सभी सच्चे शिष्यों के लिए यह अनिवार्य था कि वे प्रभु भोज में भाग लें, किसी रीति के समान, या औपचारिकता के रूप में नहीं, वरन् योग्य रीति से – स्वयं को जाँचते हुए, अपनी गलतियों और पापों का प्रभु के सामने अंगीकार करके, प्रभु से उनके लिए क्षमा मांगकर। आज हम प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने से सम्बन्धित कुछ और बातों को देखेंगे।

प्रेरितों 2:43-47 में, सुसमाचार के प्रचार और प्रसार के द्वारा जब और भी शिष्य बने और प्रभु के शिष्यों के साथ जुड़े, तब हमें प्रेरितों 2:42 के समान एक और उदाहरण देखने को मिलता है। प्रेरितों 2:46 में लिखा है कि वे लोग घर-घर रोटी तोड़ने के लिए जमा होते थे। यह एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण और ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि पवित्र आत्मा ने यह नहीं लिखवाया है कि “वे घर-घर आराधना सभा के लिए एकत्रित होते थे”, न ही यह लिखवाया कि “वे घर-घर वचन की शिक्षा पाने के लिए जमा होते थे”, और न ही यह कि “वे घर-घर प्रार्थना करने के लिए जमा होते थे”, परन्तु यह लिखवाया कि “घर-घर रोटी तोड़ते हुए।” यह दिखाता है कि मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए यह करना कितना आवश्यक था, उनकी आत्मिक आयु और परिपक्वता चाहे जो भी रही हो, परन्तु वे प्रभु भोज में भाग अवश्य लें। उन्हें यह करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया गया, वे यह करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध थे, और वे यह करते भी रहे, बिना कभी भी भाग न लेने का कोई कारण अथवा बहाना ढूँढे। फिर, प्रेरितों 2:46 के समान एक और परिस्थिति हमें प्रेरितों 20:7 में भी देखने को मिलती है, जहाँ एक बार फिर से पवित्र आत्मा ने यह लिखवाया कि “हम रोटी तोड़ने के लिये इकट्ठे हुए”, यद्यपि आराधना, वचन की शिक्षा पाना और प्रार्थना भी उनके एकत्रित होने का भाग रही थीं - प्रेरितों 20:7 में हम देखते हैं कि पौलुस देर रात तक उन्हें वचन की शिक्षा देता रहा था। लेकिन हमारे ध्यान देने के लिए जो महत्वपूर्ण बात है, वह है कि परमेश्वर के वचन में इसे “रोटी तोड़ने”, अर्थात प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के लिए एकत्रित होना लिखवाया गया है। यह एक बार फिर से मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में प्रभु की मेज़ के महत्व और उसमें नियमित भाग लेते रहने की अनिवार्यता पर जोर देता है; बजाए इसके कि वह जन उसे वैकल्पिक समझे और उससे बचने का कोई तरीका अथवा तर्क ढूँढे।

अब, यहाँ 1 कुरिन्थियों 11 अध्याय में भी हम देखते हैं कि पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस प्रेरित के द्वारा प्रभु भोज से संबंधित उनकी त्रुटियों और दुरुपयोग को सुधारने के लिए लिखवाया है। यह पूरी पत्री कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा उनके मसीही विश्वास के जीवन से संबंधित लगभग हर बात में की जा रही गलतियों को प्रकट करने और सुधारने के बारे में है। लेकिन यहाँ पर भी मसीही विश्वास के चार खंबों में से तीसरे खंबे को ही सुधारने की शिक्षा के लिए प्रतिनिधि के समान लिया गया है। यह फिर से परमेश्वर के दृष्टिकोण से मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में इसके महत्व को दिखाता है, कि क्यों इसे कभी भी वैकल्पिक समझ कर इसे हल्की बात नहीं समझना चाहिए। यदि हम प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा प्रभु भोज के स्थापित किए जाने के बारे में मनन करें, तो हम देखते हैं कि इस तीसरे खंबे के साथ शेष तीनों खंबे स्वतः ही जुड़े हुए हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने इसकी स्थापना शिष्यों की “संगति” में की, उसने “प्रार्थना/धन्यवाद” के साथ स्थापित किया, और उसने तथा बाद में पौलुस ने भी उसके बारे में “शिक्षा” दी। इसलिए जब भी प्रभु के शिष्य “रोटी तोड़ने” के लिए एकत्रित होते हैं, तब वे साथ ही प्रेरितों 2:42 के शेष तीनों खंबों को भी साथ ले लेते हैं। इसीलिए, इसमें कोई अचरज नहीं होना चहिए कि नए नियम में बारम्बार प्रभु के लोगों के “रोटी तोड़ने” के लिए एकत्रित होने का उल्लेख आया है, क्योंकि इसके साथ ही वे शेष तीनों बातों को भी पूरा कर लेते थे। यह हमें दिखाता है कि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को प्रभु भोज को अपने जीवन कितना आदरणीय स्थान देना चाहिए, जैसा कि प्रभु परमेश्वर ने उनके लिए इसे प्रदान किया है।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Lord’s Table - A Commandment; Not Optional (4)

 

       In the previous article, we had seen that it was mandatory, not optional for the Israelites to participate in the Passover. They had to do it not as a ritual or a formality, but worthily – having put away all leaven – the symbol of sin in the Bible. Similarly, the Lord while establishing the Table with His disciples, and later Paul, writing to the Corinthian Church under the Holy Spirit, made it clear that it was mandatory for the Lord’s true disciples to participate in the Table, not as a ritual or as a formality, but worthily – examining themselves and confessing their wrongs and sins to the Lord, asking His forgiveness for them. Today, we will see some more things about participating in the Holy Communion.

In Acts 2:43-47, as the Gospel was preached and spread, more souls were added to the Lord’s disciples; and we have another example similar to Acts 2:42. In Acts 2:46 it says that they held the Holy Communion from house to house. It is very significant to note that the Holy Spirit did not have it recorded as “they held worship services from house to house”, neither that, “they met for learning God’s Word from house to house”, nor that “they gathered together for prayers from house to house”, but had it recorded that they were “breaking bread from house to house.” This denotes how important and necessary it was for the Christian Believers, irrespective of their spiritual age or maturity, to participate in the Holy Communion. They were encouraged to do so, they were committed to doing so, and they did so, without looking for excuses to avoid participating in the Lord’s Table. A situation similar to Acts 2:46 is seen in Acts 20:7, where again, the Holy Spirit has had it recorded that “the disciples came together to break bread”, although worship, studying the Word and prayers, all of these were a part of their activities - & in Acts 20:7 Paul himself taught them till late. But what is important for us to note is that it has been recorded in God’s Word, that the gathering was for “breaking bread”, i.e., partaking of the Holy Communion. This once again, strongly emphasizes the importance of the Holy Communion in the Christian Believer’s life, and the necessity of his regularly participating in it, instead of considering it optional and avoiding it on some pretext or the other.

Here in 1 Corinthians 11 too we see that the Holy Spirit has Paul write to the Corinthian Church to correct their misconceptions and mishandling of participating in the Lord’s Table. The whole of this letter is full of errors that the Corinthian Believers were committing about practically everything related to their Christian Faith. But here, of the four Pillars of Acts 2:42, once again the Holy Communion has been used as the representative for correction. This once again emphasizes the place it has to have in a Christian Believer’s life, from God’s perspective; and why it should never be considered optional and thus belittled in the life of Christian Believers. If we ponder over the establishing of the Holy Communion by the Lord Jesus, we see that this third Pillar carries with it the other three Pillars as well. The Lord did it in “Fellowship” with His disciples, He “Prayed/gave thanks”, and He, then later Paul too, “Taught about it.” So, when the Lord’s disciples gather for “breaking of bread”, they also simultaneously do the other three activities of Acts 2:42. Therefore, it is no wonder that time and again it is written in the New Testament that the Lord’s people used to gather for “breaking of bread”, since in doing so, they would also gather together for the other three. This shows why it is the responsibility of every Christian Believer to accord participating in the Holy Communion the same importance and status in their lives, as the Lord God has accorded to it for them.

If you are a Christian Believer and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.
