आशीषित और सफल जीवन जीने पर पिछली श्रृंखला के लेखों में, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर की कलीसिया के औरपरमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता रखने के भण्डारी होने से संबंधित बातों पर विचार करते हुए, हमने उन बातों के बारे में सीखा था जो कलीसिया की तथा मसीही विश्वासियों की बढ़ोतरी में बाधा डालती हैं। उन में से एक मुख्य बात, जिस पर हमने संक्षेप में विचार किया था वह थी कलीसिया एवं विश्वासियों के मध्य परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई की भूमिका।

हम कलीसिया के इतिहास से जानते हैं कि प्रथम शताब्दी में कलीसिया का सबसे अधिक तेजी से और सारे सँसार में प्रसार हुआ, और जहाँ-जहाँ कलीसियाएं स्थापित हुईं वहाँ उनकी उन्नति भी हुई। और यह तब, जब उनके पास लिखित रूप में परमेश्वर का वचन, विशेषकर नया नियम – जो उस समय लिखा जा रहा था, था ही नहीं। शिक्षाएँ मुख्यतः प्रेरितों के द्वारा मौखिक दी जाती थीं, या कुछ पत्रियों के द्वारा, जो किसी व्यक्ति अथवा कलीसिया को लिखी जाती थीं, और आस-पास की कलीसियाओं में घुमा कर वहाँ भी पढ़ी-सुनाई जाती थीं। किन्तु प्रेरितों के द्वारा प्रचार किए जा रहे इस परमेश्वर के वचन में एक बात थी – वह परिशुद्ध था, उसमें मनुष्यों की समझ और विचारों की कोई मिलावट नहीं की जाती थी। अर्थात, जैसा उन्हें प्रभु या पवित्र आत्मा से मिला था (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:23; 15:3; गलतियों 1:11-12; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 4:2; 1 यूहन्ना 1:5); वे उसे वैसा ही, बिना उसमें उनकी अपनी बुद्धि के विचार और बातों को मिलाए (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:1-2, 5), बाँट देते थे; और इसीलिए वह इतना प्रभावी था। अब थोड़ा रुक कर इस बात पर विचार कीजिये: यदि वही वचन जिसने उस समय कलीसिया की इतनी बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति की थी, उसी तरह से, जैसा परमेश्वर ने दिया है, उसी शुद्धता और आज्ञाकारिता में आज दिया जाए, तो निश्चय ही क्या उसका वही प्रभाव, वही परिणाम नहीं होंगे जो उस समय हुए थे?

यह तर्क कोई मन-गढ़न्त बात नहीं है। हम परमेश्वर के वचन से देखते हैं कि यह परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रचार के द्वारा ही था कि कलीसियाएं दृढ़ हुईं और बढ़ीं (प्रेरितों 4:4; 6:7; 16:4-5; 12:24; 19:20; 20:32)। कलीसियाओं की बढ़ोतरी के इस आरंभिक चरण में, वचन के मुख्य शिक्षक और प्रचारक प्रेरित तथा प्रभु यीशु के अन्य शिष्य थे। वे प्रभु के प्रति पूर्णतः और खराई से समर्पित थे और अपनी सेवकाई पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन में करते थे। वह वचन जो पवित्र आत्मा से उन प्रेरितों तथा अगुवों में होकर आता था, उसके द्वारा यह बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति होती थी (प्रेरितों 16:4-5)। उस समय शैतान यूँ ही निष्क्रिय होकर बैठा हुआ नहीं था, तब भी ऐसे लोग थे जो अपने ही विचारों, व्याख्याओं, और धारणाओं को परमेश्वर का वचन कहकर प्रचार करते थे (मत्ती 15:8-9; 2 कुरिन्थियों 2:17; 11:13-15), किन्तु उस से कभी भी कलीसिया या विश्वासियों की बढ़ोतरी अथवा उन्नति में कोई योगदान नहीं मिला, और बाइबल में उसकी भर्त्सना की गई है।

अगले लेख में हम कुछ अन्य आरंभिक बातों को देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Preliminary Considerations – 1

 

In the previous series on leading a Blessed and Successful Life, while considering Christian Believers being stewards of God’s Church and their being in Fellowship with other children of God, we had learnt about the factors affecting the growth of the Church and of the Christian Believers. One of the main factors that we had briefly considered was the role of God’s Word in this growth of the Church and the Christian Believers.

We know from Church history that in the first century, the Church spread very rapidly all over the world, and grew locally wherever it was established. This, although they did not have the written Word of God, particularly the New Testament – which was still being written. Primarily, the teachings were done by the Apostles orally, and through some letters written to individuals or some of the Churches, and circulated around to be read and heard there. But there was one thing about this Word of God being preached and taught by the Apostles – it was pure and unadulterated by human thoughts and wisdom. It was just as they had received it from the Lord or from the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 11:23; 15:3; Galatians 1:11-12; 1 Thessalonians 4:2; 1 John 1:5), and was delivered by them, unadulterated by their own thoughts and wisdom (2 Corinthians 4:1-2, 5); and therefore it was so effective. Now just stop for a moment and ponder over this: If the same Word that caused the Church to grow and spread at that time, is ministered in the same manner, in obedience towards it and maintaining its God given purity, as it was done at that time, surely will it not have the same effect and produce the same results as it had, in the first Church?

This argument is not mere conjecture. We see from God's Word that it was through the preaching of the Word of God, that the Churches were strengthened and grew (Acts 4:4; 6:7; 16:4-5; 12:24; 19:20; 20:32). In this initial phase of Church growth, the main teachers and preachers of the Word were the Apostles and other disciples of Christ. They were sincerely committed to be obedient to the Lord and carrying on their ministry under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It was this Word that came through the Apostles and Elders under the guidance of the Holy Spirit that caused this growth (Acts 16:4-5). Even at that time, Satan was not sitting by idly; there were people who preached their own thoughts, interpretations, and ideas as God's Word (Matthew 15:8-9; 2 Corinthians 2:17; 11:13-15), but it never contributed in any way to the spiritual growth and development of the Believers or of the Churches, and has been denounced in the Bible.

In the next article we will look at some more preliminary considerations.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों के भण्डारी होने के नाते, मसीही विश्वासियों को हमेशा यह ध्यान में रखना चाहिए कि वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए सभी मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर की सन्तान भी हैं और परमेश्वर के परिवार के सदस्य भी हैं। किन्तु, जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु ने अच्छे और जंगली बीजों के दृष्टांत में कहा है (मत्ती 13:24-30), शैतान भी अपने लोगों को कलीसियाओं और मण्डलियों में घुसा देता है। वे अपने आप को झूठे प्रेरितों और धार्मिकता के प्रचारकों के समान प्रस्तुत करते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15), परमेश्वर के वचन से प्रचार करने में सक्रिय भाग लेते हैं, किन्तु बड़ी चालाकी से वे कलीसिया में गलत शिक्षाएँ और झूठे सिद्धान्त भी घुसा देते हैं और परमेश्वर के लोगों को सही मार्ग से भरमा-भटका देते हैं। इसलिए यह बहुत आवश्यक है कि किसी को भी वचन की सेवकाई की ज़िम्मेदारी देने से पहले न केवल बहुत सावधानी से उस के बारे में बारीकी से जाँच-परख कर ली जाए, और तब ही कलीसिया में, कलीसिया के लोगों के मध्य प्रचार करने और शिक्षा देने का अवसर दिया जाए, बल्कि प्रत्येक प्रचारक और उसकी शिक्षाओं को हमेशा परखते रहना है (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29), चाहे उसकी प्रतिष्ठा कुछ भी क्यों न हो। आज हम इस विषय पर रोमियों 12:4-5 से आगे सीखना ज़ारी रखेंगे।

जो वास्तव में प्रभु परमेश्वर के परिवार का सदस्य है, वह अपने परिवार के लोगों के साथ मेल-मिलाप बनाए रखेगा, उनकी भलाई की सोचेगा (गलातियों 6:10; 1 तिमुथियुस 5:8), उनके हित में होकर कार्य करेगा; तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के निर्देश के अनुसार (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7), अपने आत्मिक वरदानों को अपनी व्यक्तिगत प्रशंसा और भलाई के लिए नहीं, वरन सभी की भलाई के लिए उपयोग करेगा। वह इस एहसास के साथ जीता और कार्य करता है कि परमेश्वर के परिवार में, प्रभु की मण्डली - उसकी देह (इफिसियों 5:25-30) में, जिस मण्डली के साथ प्रभु ने उसे रखा और जोड़ा है, वहाँ पर वह एक आवश्यक, उपयोगी, और अभिन्न अंग है; प्रभु के लिए उसकी उपयोगिता, उसकी आशीष और उन्नति वहीं से है। इसलिए किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी का कैसा भी अनुचित जीवन, व्यवहार, और कार्य, न केवल उसके व्यक्तिगत जीवन और गवाही पर दुष्प्रभाव लाता है, वरन परमेश्वर के पूरे परिवार, प्रभु की पूरी मण्डली पर दुष्प्रभाव लाता है। वह उन सभी के लिए दुःख और समस्याओं का कारण होता है, और उनकी सेवकाई के कार्यों को सुचारु रीति से करने में मण्डली के लोगों के लिये बाधा बनता है।

रोमियों 12:4 यह बिल्कुल स्पष्ट बता रहा है कि जैसे देह के सभी अंगों का एक ही, या समान ही कार्य नहीं होता है, वैसे ही प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी की भी मण्डली में अपनी-अपनी, औरों से भिन्न सेवकाई है, भिन्न दायित्व हैं, जो उनके लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित किए गए हैं। इसलिए सभी को अपनी-अपनी सेवकाई, अपने-अपने दायित्वों का सही रीति से निर्वाह करना है। किसी दूसरे की सेवकाई या दायित्वों को लेकर ईर्ष्या नहीं करनी है, उसकी सेवकाई को अपने लिए लेने और करने के प्रयास नहीं करने हैं। और न ही अपनी सेवकाई के कारण अपने आप को उच्च या महान समझने, घमण्ड करने की प्रवृत्ति रखनी है। क्योंकि, जैसा हम पहले देख चुके हैं, परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सभी सेवकाइयाँ और वरदान समान स्तर और महत्व के हैं। देह के सभी अंग अपने-अपने स्थान और कार्य के लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं; कोई भी अंग अथवा उसका कार्य देह के लिए कम या अधिक महत्वपूर्ण नहीं है, सभी का समान महत्व और उपयोग है। जैसे किसी एक अंग के न होने के कारण, या सुचारु रीति से कार्य न करने के कारण सारी देह अपनी रचना में अपूर्ण हो जाती है, या कार्य में अधूरी, या अथवा कार्य के लिए अक्षम हो जाती है, वैसे ही किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी के मण्डली से अनुपस्थित होने, मण्डली में अपना काम न करने, या मण्डली में ठीक से कार्य न करने के कारण कलीसिया या मण्डली की बढ़ोतरी और काम में, तथा उसके अपने जीवन में आत्मिक उन्नति नहीं होने पाती है। इसीलिए रोमियों 12:5 मसीही विश्वासियों को न केवल प्रभु की देह का अंग, वरन एक-दूसरे का अंग भी बताता है, जो मण्डली के लिए भी तथा एक-दूसरे के लिए भी सहायक और उपयोगी हों। उनकी आवश्यकता न केवल कलीसिया के कामों के लिए बल्कि एक दूसरे की बढ़ोतरी के लिए भी आवश्यक है। क्योंकि किसी भी कलीसिया में एक गलत वातावरण उसके सभी सदस्यों के कार्य, रवैये, और व्यवहार पर बुरा प्रभाव डालेगा, इसलिए सभी सदस्यों को एक-दूसरे के सहायक और सह-कर्मी होना चाहिए।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं तो अपनी सेवकाई को ठीक से, प्रभु की इच्छानुसार, तथा अपने आत्मिक वरदानों का उपयुक्त उपयोग मण्डली की भलाई और उन्नति के लिए कर पाने के लिए, आपके लिए यह आवश्यक है कि अपने आप को, औरों के समान ही, परमेश्वर के परिवार का तथा प्रभु की देह, उसकी मण्डली का एक अभिन्न एवं उपयोगी अंग समझ कर कार्य करें। न अपने आप को, अपनी सेवकाई को, अपने वरदान को किसी से गौण या छोटा अथवा कम उपयोगी समझें; और न ही किसी प्रकार से विशिष्ट और उच्च होने की भावना अपने में उत्पन्न होने दें। अन्यथा शैतान आपको हीन भावना अथवा घमण्ड से ग्रसित करके, अपने या मण्डली के, या मण्डली के किसी सदस्य के विरुद्ध किसी-न-किसी पाप में उलझा और फंसा देगा, प्रभु के लिए आपके कार्य और उपयोगिता की हानि करवा देगा। प्रभु परमेश्वर ने जो सेवकाई और वरदान आपको दिया है, उसे ही प्रभु की महिमा के लिए योग्य रीति से प्रयोग करें। शैतान व्यक्ति को किसी अन्य आकर्षक या प्रतिष्ठित सेवकाई और वरदान के लालच में फँसाकर उसे प्रभु द्वारा उसके लिए तय की हुई मण्डली तथा उस मण्डली में निर्धारित की हुई उसकी सेवकाई और आशीष से दूर ले जा सकता है। कुछ समय तक वह प्रतिष्ठा और सेवकाई अच्छे से चल भी सकती है, किन्तु अन्ततः उसके दुष्प्रभाव उस विश्वासी के अपने तथा उसके पारिवारिक जीवन में हानि ही लेकर आएँगे। जबकि प्रभु द्वारा निर्धारित स्थान, स्तर, और सेवकाई में बने रहने, अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार नहीं बल्कि प्रभु द्वारा उसके लिए तय की गई ज़िम्मेदारी का ही सुचारु रीति से निर्वाह करने द्वारा ही विश्वासी आशीषों और उन्नति के पात्र होंगे। 

अगले लेख में हम इस विषय को ज़ारी रखते हुए रोमियों 12:6-8 को देखेंगे।

Utilizing the Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 5

 

We have seen in the previous article that as stewards of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Christian Believers should also always bear in mind that the truly Born-Again Believers are all children of God, and are also members of God’s family. But, as the Lord Jesus has said in His parable of the tares and good seed (Matthew 13:24-30), Satan also infiltrates his people into the Church and Assemblies. They present themselves as false apostles and ministers of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). They take active part in preaching God’s Word, but very subtly, also introduce false teachings and wrong doctrines into the Church to mislead God’s people away from the right way. Therefore, not only is it very necessary to be very circumspect in giving people the ministry of God’s Word, the opportunity to preach and teach amongst the Church congregation; but to also keep evaluating every preacher and his teachings (1 Corinthians 14:29), no matter what his reputation may be. Today we will carry on learning about this from Romans 12:4-5.

He who truly is a member of God’s family, will stay in fellowship and unity with the other members of his spiritual family, will think about their good (Galatians 6:10; 1 Timothy 5:8), and will do things for their benefit. In accordance with the instructions of God’s Word, he will use his Spiritual gifts and ministry not for himself and his being glorified, but for the benefit and edification of others (1 Corinthians 12:7). Such a person lives and works with the realization that in the family of God, in the Church of the Lord i.e., the body of Christ (Ephesians 5:25-30), in the Church or Assembly where God has placed him, joined him, there he is a necessary, useful, and integral part; he is useful for the Lord there, his blessings and growth are from there. Therefore, any kind of inappropriate living, behavior, and deeds of any Christian Believer, bring a harmful effect not only on his own life and witness but on the whole family of God, the Church. And he becomes a cause for pain and problems for everybody else; he adversely affects the proper work and ministry of the others in the congregation.

Romans 12:4 is very clearly saying that just as in a body every part and organ has its own place and work, similarly in the Christian Assembly or Church, every member has his own role and ministry, which is different from the work, ministry and role of others, that have been assigned to them by God. Therefore, everyone should carry out his God assigned role and ministry properly and worthily. No one should covet another’s ministry or feel envious or jealous because of another’s ministry. Neither should anyone feel proud or superior because of the ministry given by God to him. Since as we have seen earlier, all Spiritual gifts and ministries are of the same importance in God’s eyes. All parts of the body are important and essential in the place they are placed, and the work they have to do; no part of the body or its function is of any lesser importance for the body, all are equally necessary and important. Just as due to the absence, non-functioning, or improper functioning of any one part, the functioning of the whole body is adversely affected, similarly the absence, non-functioning, or improper functioning of any Christian Believer, adversely affects the work and growth of the local Church or Assembly, and his own spiritual growth is adversely affected as well. For this reason, Romans 12:5 not only calls the Christian Believers as members of the body of the Lord, but also members of each other, who are required not only for the functioning of the Church, but also of each other. Since a wrong atmosphere in any Church will hamper the proper functioning and attitude of its members, therefore the members should be helpers and of service for each other.

If you are a Christian Believer, then for you to carry out your ministry properly and worthily, according to the will of God; and to be able to use your ministry and gifts for the benefit and edification of the Church, it is necessary for you to consider yourself a similar member of God’s family, a necessary and integral part of the Assembly or the Church, just as the others are. You should neither consider yourself, your ministry, and your Spiritual gift as small or of lesser importance than any other’s; nor should you think of yourself, your ministry, and your Spiritual gift as superior and of more importance than any other. If you allow any of these feelings to settle in you, then Satan will soon make you fall in either a feeling of inferiority or in pride of superiority, entrap you in some sin or the other, obstruct your work and ministry for the Lord. Use whatever ministry and Spiritual gift God has given to you for the glory of God, the propagation of the gospel, and edification of the Church. Then you too will be blessed and benefitted, as will the others be through your ministry and gifts. Satan may entice a Believer away from his God assigned status and ministry through some attractive and seemingly prestigious status and ministry somewhere else, and deprive him of his blessings. It may be that for some time, in that other location that status and ministry might seem to be working well for him, but eventually the harmful effects that come upon his own and his family life will bring a great loss for him. But by staying on in the place, status, and ministry God has assigned for him and serving well in the ministry that God wants him to do, instead of what he himself wants, the Believer will receive rich blessings and growth.

Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों का उपयोग – 4

रोमियों 12 अध्याय मसीही विश्वासियों को उस तैयारी के बारे में सिखाता है जो उन्हें उनकी मसीही सेवकाई और उसके अनुसार उन्हें प्रदान किए गए आत्मिक वरदानों के उचित उपयोग के लिए करनी है; जिससे वे पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों के योग्य भण्डारी हो सकें। इस अध्याय के पहले तीन पदों से हम देख चुके हैं कि इन दायित्वों के खराई से निर्वाह के लिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में कुछ बातों का होना अनिवार्य है, तब ही वह परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई सेवकाई का भली-भांति निर्वाह करने पाएगा। रोमियों 12:1-3 की ये अनिवार्य बातें हैं: 

• पद 1: वेदी पर चढ़ाए गए बलिदान के समान परमेश्वर को एक पूर्णतः समर्पित जीवन। ऐसा जीवन जो मनुष्यों तथा मनुष्यों के द्वारा गढ़े गए रीति-रिवाजों, प्रथाओं, परंपराओं एवं नियमों के पालन के लिए नहीं, वरन परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के आदर और आज्ञाकारिता में जिया जाता है। 

• पद 2: ऐसे समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी जीवन की एक अन्य पहचान है कि पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार पाने के द्वारा उस व्यक्ति के अन्दर आया हुआ परिवर्तन उसके बदले हुए व्यवहार, चाल-चलन, जीवन के उद्देश्यों, और उस व्यक्ति की प्रभु और उसके वचन के प्रति प्राथमिकताओं, आदि में दिखता है। और यही बदलाव उसके जीवन में हुए उद्धार के कार्य को प्रमाणित भी करता है। 

• पद 3: इस प्रकार का समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध विश्वासी, स्वयं का आँकलन भी करता रहता है, यह सुनिश्चित रखने के लिए कि वह किसी शैतानी युक्ति में नहीं फँस गया है, और प्रभु के वचन तथा मार्गों से भटकाया नहीं गया है। 

सच्चा मसीही विश्वासी और सेवक अपने इन गुणों के द्वारा पहचाना जाता है। इसलिए जो मसीही सेवकाई में संलग्न हैं, या होना चाहते हैं, उन्हें अपने आप को इन गुणों के लिए जाँचना चाहिए, अपना स्व-आँकलन करना चाहिए, और जहाँ जो सुधार आवश्यक हैं उन बातों को परमेश्वर के समक्ष रख कर, परमेश्वर द्वारा बताए गए आवश्यक सुधारों को अपने जीवन में लागू भी करना चाहिए। 

रोमियों के इस 12 अध्याय में मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई से संबंधित अगली शिक्षा हम 4 और 5 पद में पाते हैं। ये पद वास्तविक, सच्चे, मसीही विश्वासियों को उन्हें उद्धार और पाप-क्षमा प्रदान किए जाने के साथ जुड़े एक आधारभूत तथ्य को स्मरण करवाता है – कि वे परमेश्वर की सन्तान भी हैं। प्रभु यीशु पर विश्वास लाने, उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित होकर उसे अपना उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने के द्वारा नया जन्म या उद्धार पाए हुए लोगों के विषय यूहन्ना 1:12-13 में लिखा है “परन्तु जितनों ने उसे ग्रहण किया, उसने उन्हें परमेश्वर के सन्तान होने का अधिकार दिया, अर्थात उन्हें जो उसके नाम पर विश्वास रखते हैं। वे न तो लहू से, न शरीर की इच्छा से, न मनुष्य की इच्छा से, परन्तु परमेश्वर से उत्पन्न हुए हैं।” अर्थात, वास्तविकता में उद्धार पाए हुए सभी मसीही विश्वासी, एक ही परिवार - परमेश्वर के परिवार, के सदस्य हैं। मसीही मण्डलियों में बहुत से ऐसे भी घुस आते हैं जो व्यवहार तो उद्धार पाए हुओं के समान करते हैं, किन्तु वास्तव में उद्धार पाए हुए होते नहीं हैं, जैसे प्रेरितों 8:9-24 में शमौन टोन्हा करने वाले के विषय लिखा है (साथ ही प्रेरितों 20:29-30; 1 यूहन्ना 2:18-19 भी देखिए)। शैतान द्वारा मण्डलियों में लाए गए ऐसे लोग मसीही विश्वासियों और मसीही सेवकाई की बहुत हानि का, तथा समाज में प्रभु यीशु मसीह में पापों की क्षमा और उद्धार के सुसमाचार के प्रचार और प्रसार के गलत समझे जाने और विरोध होने का कारण ठहरते हैं। इसीलिए हमें उपरोक्त गुणों के अनुसार, तथा 1 यूहन्ना 2:3-6; 4:1-6, आदि के अनुसार लोगों को देख-परख कर, उनकी वास्तविकता को पहचान कर ही उन्हें मसीही मण्डलियों में कोई ज़िम्मेदारी अथवा स्तर प्रदान करना चाहिए। विशेषकर वचन की सेवकाई और मण्डली के संचालन आदि की ज़िम्मेदारियाँ देने से पहले, 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15 को ध्यान में रखते हुए, कि शैतान भी अपने लोगों के द्वारा वचन की सही प्रतीत होनी वाली शिक्षाएँ दिलवा सकता है, लोगों को बारीकी से जाँच-परख लेना चाहिए, अन्यथा उनके द्वारा अनुचित व्यवहार, गलत रवैये, झूठी शिक्षाओं, और गढ़े हुए सिद्धांतों के बोए गए कड़वे बीज आगे चलकर बहुत बड़ी हानि का कारण ठहरेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Utilizing the Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 4

 

Romans chapter 12 teaches the Christian Believers about the preparation required for their Christian Ministry and utilizing their Spiritual gifts; to be worthy stewards of the gifts the Holy Spirit has given to them for their Christian living and ministry. We have seen from the first three verses of this chapter that for a worthy fulfillment of their ministry responsibilities, it is essential that every Christian Believer should have certain characteristics; only then will he be able to carry out his ministry properly and in a worthy manner. These essential characteristics from Romans 12:1-3 are: 

• Verse 1: A fully surrendered life to God just as an offering sacrificed on the altar of God. Such a life is not meant to be lived according to contrived, man-made customs, rites and rituals, traditions, rules and regulations, but solely in obedience to God and His Word. 

• Verse 2: A life so committed, surrendered and obedient to God has another characteristic - the person who has received the forgiveness of sins and salvation, has had an inner change, that manifests through his changed life, behavior, purpose, and by according the first priority to the Lord and His Word. It is this change that affirms the work of salvation in his life. 

• Verse 3: Such a committed Believer, also engages in self-evaluation, to keep ascertaining that he has not fallen for any satanic ploy and been beguiled away from the Lord’s Word and ways. 

A true and committed Christian Believer and minister is recognized by these characteristics. Therefore, anyone engaged, or desiring to be in Christian Ministry, should examine themselves for the presence of these characteristics, and placing their life before God, should carry out whatever corrections and modifications are necessary in their lives, as shown by God to them.

In this chapter 12 from Romans, we see the next teaching related to Christian Life and Ministry, in verses 4 and 5. These verses remind a true and committed Christian Believer of a basic fact related to their receiving forgiveness of sins and salvation – that they are also the children of God. The Apostle John has written about those who have come to faith in the Lord Jesus, have fully surrendered their lives to Him, and accepted Him as their Saviour and Lord; they have also become the children of God, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13). In other words, all truly Born-Again Christian Believers, are members of one single family - the family of God. Many people sneak into the Christian Assemblies and Churches and behave like those who have been saved, but actually they are not saved, as was Simon the sorcerer mentioned in Acts 8:29-24 (also see Acts 20:29-30; 1 John 2:18-19). Such people, brought into the assemblies and Churches by Satan, not only cause a great deal of harm in the Church, but also are a potent cause of people misunderstanding the gospel of forgiveness of sins and salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus, and of its opposition by the people of the world. Therefore, according to 1 John 2:3-6; 4:1-6 etc., we should carefully examine and evaluate people coming into the Church or Assembly, and only then give them a status or responsibility. This is very important especially for giving the responsibility of ministering God’s Word or the responsibility of managing the affairs of the local Church to anyone, since, as it says in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, even Satan can have his people preach apparently correct seeming messages. But the harmful seeds of improper attitudes and behavior, wrong teachings, and false doctrines that they will sow will be a cause of severe harm in the days to come.

“बड़े से बड़े वरदानों की धुन में रहो” को समझना – 2

प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने कोई न कोई आत्मिक वरदान दिया है कि वह परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई को उचित रीति से पूरा कर सके। यद्यपि परमेश्वर का वचन यह दिखाता और सिखाता है कि परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में उसकी सभी सन्तान और उनकी सेवकाइयाँ समान स्तर के हैं, किन्तु कुछ लोग 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:31 की गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग के द्वारा यह प्रचार करते और सिखाते हैं कि कुछ सेवकाइयाँ और वरदान अन्य से बेहतर, बढ़कर, और अधिक चाहने योग्य हैं।  पिछले लेख में हमने इस पद की, उसके संदर्भ में व्याख्या की थी, और देखा था कि यहाँ पर ‘बड़े से बड़े वरदानों’ से तात्पर्य है “कलीसिया में सेवकाई या कलीसिया के कार्यों के लिये बड़ी से बड़ी उपयोगिता वाले, अर्थात् सबसे अधिक उपयोगी वरदान;” न कि कोई ऐसा वरदान जो किसी के व्यक्तिगत उपयोग के लिये ‘बड़े से बड़ा’ हो, ऐसा जो उसे उच्च दर्जे का होने की अनुभूति देता हो। आत्मिक वरदानों के परस्पर बड़ा या छोटा होने की धारणा को स्वीकार करने, इसे मान लेने के बहुत गंभीर निहितार्थ हैं; जो परमेश्वर के चरित्र और गुणों पर हमला करते हैं। आज हम इसे कुछ विस्तार से देखेंगे।

साथ ही वरदानों के स्तर और श्रेणियों में भिन्नता होने को स्वीकार करने की एक स्वाभाविक मानवीय प्रतिक्रिया होती है कि जो “पाया हुआ’ वालों में से हैं, वे अपने आप को उच्च श्रेणी का, बेहतर विश्वासी समझेंगे। स्वयं को ऐसे लोग समझेंगे जिनकी योग्यता तथा सेवकाई में प्रभावी होना औरों से बढ़कर है, और इसलिए परमेश्वर से उन्हें मिलने वाले प्रतिफल और आशीषें भी विशेष होंगे, ‘नहीं पाया हुआ’ वालों को मिलने वालों से और उत्तम होंगे। ये ‘पाया हुआ’ वाले, जानते-बूझते हुए या अनजाने में, अपने बारे में, अपनी सेवकाई के बारे में, और अपने प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी होने के बारे में, एक आत्मिक घमण्ड में आ जाएँगे। यह प्रभु के लिए उनके कार्य और उनकी सेवकाई के लिए हानिकारक हो जाएगा क्योंकि प्रभु परमेश्वर किसी भी प्रकार के घमण्ड को स्वीकार अथवा सहन नहीं करता है, घमण्ड करने वाले के साथ कोई काम नहीं करता है। इस कारण ये लोग फिर शैतान के हाथों में कठपुतली बनकर रह जाएंगे, जो यही समझते रहेंगे कि वे प्रभु के लिए काम कर रहे हैं, किन्तु उनकी सेवकाई और कार्य उनके घमण्ड के कारण व्यर्थ और निष्फल होंगे। दूसरी ओर, जो ‘नहीं पाया हुआ’ वाले हैं, वे इन ‘उत्कृष्ट विश्वासियों’ के समान बनने, इन ‘पाया हुआ’ वालों में सम्मिलित होने के व्यर्थ प्रयासों में पड़ जाएँगे। अब, जो ‘पाया हुआ’ वाली श्रेणी के हैं, वे एक उत्तमता और आत्मिक घमण्ड की भावना के साथ जीवन जीएंगे तथा ‘नहीं पाए हुओं’ पर अधिकार जताने लगेंगे। और ‘नहीं पाए हुए’ श्रेणी के लोग प्रभु द्वारा निर्धारित सेवकाई और कार्य को करने और प्रभु में उन्नति करने के बजाए, इस “बड़े से बड़े वरदानों की धुन में रहो” के अनुचित चक्करों में पड़ जाएँगे; ‘पाया हुआ’ वालों में सम्मिलित होने की लालसा में अपनी निर्धारित सेवकाई को ठीक से न करने के कारण, अपने प्रतिफलों और आशीषों की हानि कर लेंगे।

इसके कारण दोनों ही श्रेणियों, ‘पाया हुआ’ और ‘नहीं पाया हुआ’ के विश्वासियों के लिए परिणाम समान ही होगा। दोनों ही अपनी आत्मिक परिपक्वता और प्रभु के लिए उपयोगिता से गिर जाएँगे, असफल हो जाएँगे। कलीसिया में ईर्ष्या, ‘बड़े से बड़े वरदानों’ और सम्बन्धित सेवकाइयों का लालच करना, मतभेद, एक-दूसरे को ऊँचा-नीचा होने या देखने की प्रवृत्ति, कलह, और विभाजन हो जाएंगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:10-13; 3:1-3)। कलीसिया में और विश्वासियों में घमण्ड के इस खेल में हार केवल सुसमाचार प्रचार और प्रसार की ही होगी। ऐसे “विश्वासियों” के जीवन, व्यवहार, और गवाही को देखकर, जो या तो अपने “बड़े से बड़े” वरदानों की प्रदर्शनी करने में लगे हुए हैं, या जो उनके लालच और उन्हें पाने की लालसा के अन्तर्गत काम करने में लगे हुए हैं, उद्धार नहीं पाए हुए संसार के लोग प्रेम, एक-मनता, समानता और उद्धार के सुसमाचार को कहीं देख नहीं पाएंगे; और ऐसी गवाही उन्हें सुसमाचार को सुनने और मानने से निरुत्साहित ही करेगी; और जीत शैतान ही की होगी।

Understanding “Earnestly Desire the Best Gifts” – 2

 

Every Born-Again Christian Believer has received some spiritual gift or the other from God the Holy Spirit to help him worthily fulfil his God assigned ministry. Although God's Word shows and teaches that in God’s eyes all of His children, and their ministries are of the same status, some people misinterpret and misuse 1 Corinthians 12:31 to teach and preach about some ministries and gifts being better, superior, and more desirable than others. We had seen and interpreted this verse in its context in the previous article, and it became apparent that the “best gifts” mentioned here meant “the best, or, the most useful for functioning or ministry in the Church;” and not seemingly ‘best’ for anyone’s personal use or ‘best’ to put them up on a pedestal in the Church. There are serious implications of this notion of spiritual gifts mutually being superior or or inferior; such a notion attacks the character and attributes of God; and accepting this notion, believing in it denigrates God. We will consider this today in some detail.

If this interpretation of gifts and ministries being of greater and lesser importance and some being better than the others is accepted, then it creates divisions in the Church and amongst Believers. This automatically places a Believer into one of the two categories - either being one of the ‘haves’ i.e., one of those people who have the ‘greater’ or ‘more important’ or ‘better’ gifts; or being one of the ‘have nots’ i.e., those people who have the ‘lesser’ or ‘less important’ or ‘inferior’ gifts in the Church. Since 1 Corinthians 12:11 categorically states that it is the Holy Spirit who decides which gift to give to whom, this then implies that there is favoritism or partiality in God the Holy Spirit – for in the Church of God, to some of God’s children He has arbitrarily given ‘greater’ or ‘more important’ or ‘better’ gifts, and to other of God’s children He has arbitrarily given the ‘lesser’ or ‘less important’ or ‘inferior’ gifts. Or, if the Holy Spirit has given the gifts according to the ministry assigned by God, then the same argument of being arbitrary and showing favoritism and partiality gets transferred to God who decided on each Believer’s ministry and work. In either case, it brings an untenable accusation against God of His being unfair and arbitrary towards His children.

Moreover, accepting a differentiation in the status and category of gifts, then naturally leads to the human tendency that the ‘haves’ will think of themselves as superior or of a better category. Of being people with better abilities and effectiveness in ministry, and therefore having a claim to better rewards and blessings from God than the ‘have nots.’ Intentionally or unintentionally, these ‘haves’ will develop a spiritual pride about themselves, about their ministry, and about their being useful for the Lord. This will be counterproductive in their ministry and work for the Lord, since and the Lord God can neither accept, nor tolerate, nor work with any pride. This will effectively reduce them to being nothing more than puppets in the hands of Satan, i.e., of people working in the name of the Lord but not accomplishing anything for the Lord God because of the pride within them. This division will also drive the ‘have nots’ into making vain efforts to join these ‘elite Believers,’ the ‘haves’, so that they too can receive similar status, blessings and rewards. So now, the ‘haves’ will live with a sense of spiritual superiority and pride, and will try to dominate the ‘have nots’; while the ‘have nots’ instead of working for the Lord in their ministries, and growing in the Lord will be spending their time and efforts to “earnestly desire the best gifts” and catch up with the ‘haves;’ but end up harming their rewards and eternal benefits.

Because of this, the net result will be the same for either of the categories of the Christian Believers, whether one of the ‘haves’ or of the ‘have-nots.’ Both will fall and fail in their spiritual maturity and effectiveness for the Lord. There will be jealousy, coveting of gifts and ministries, disagreements, feelings of superiority-inferiority, quarrels, and the Church breaking up (1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 3:1-3). The only loser because of this game of vanity in the Church and amongst the Believers will be the preaching and propagation of the Gospel. The lives, activities, and witness of these “Believers” engaged in either showing off their “best gifts,” or earnestly desiring and working to acquire the “best gifts” will only serve to discourage people from listening to and accepting the Gospel of love, unity, and uniformity, and salvation; and Satan would be the winner.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins, and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परिचय

    वर्तमान में जारी बाइबल अध्ययन की इस श्रृंखला में हम 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 से, अर्थात हाल ही में इस्राएल के राजा बने उसके पुत्र सुलैमान को दाऊद द्वारा दिए गए निर्देशों में से, एक सफल और आशीषित जीवन जीने के सम्बन्ध में सीख रहे हैं। वर्तमान में हम इस खण्ड के पद 3 पर विचार कर रहे हैं, जिसमें दाऊद सुलैमान से उस सभी का योग्य भण्डारी होने के लिए कहता है, जो परमेश्वर ने उसे सौंपा है।

• अपना वचन

• अपना पवित्र आत्मा

• अपनी कलीसिया तथा अपने अन्य बच्चों की संगति

• सेवकाई के लिए पवित्र आत्मा का कोई न कोई वरदान

    इन चार में से हमने पिछले लेखों में पहली तीन बातों, प्रत्येक विश्वासी के परमेश्वर का वचन का, पवित्र आत्मा का, और परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और परमेश्वर की अन्य बच्चों के साथ संगति का भण्डारी होने के बारे में देख लिया है। आज से हम चौथे विषय, पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों के बारे में और मसीही विश्वासी के उनका भण्डारी होने के बारे में सीखना आरंभ करेंगे।

    मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की भूमिका और उनके द्वारा सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई के लिए दिए जाने वाले आत्मिक वरदानों के अध्ययन में हम यह देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर ने प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए कुछ न कुछ कार्य पूर्व-निर्धारित कर रखे हैं (इफिसियों 2:10), और वह चाहता है कि प्रत्येक विश्वासी उसे सौंपे गए कार्य को उद्यम और उचित रीति से करे। परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित इन कार्यों को करने के लिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसमें निवास करने वाले परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता उपलब्ध है। पवित्र आत्मा ने सभी विश्वासियों को उनके कार्य और सेवकाई के लिए उचित और उपयुक्त वरदान, या क्षमताएं और योग्यताएं भी दी हैं, जिससे वह अपनी सेवकाई सुचारु रीति से और परमेश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार कर सके, कि उसकी सेवकाई परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो। इस संदर्भ में हम मत्ती 7:21-23 से यह भी देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर को वही स्वीकार्य होता है जो उसकी इच्छा के अनुसार और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में होकर किया जाता है। कोई मनुष्य अपनी मन-मर्ज़ी से परमेश्वर के नाम से कुछ भी करे, और अपेक्षा रखे कि परमेश्वर उसे स्वीकार करेगा, उसके लिए आशीष देगा, तो यह उस मनुष्य की अपनी सोच और समझ है। परमेश्वर उसकी इस सोच और समझ के साथ सहमत नहीं है, और उसे तथा उसके ऐसे सभी कार्यों को अस्वीकार कर देता है, वे चाहे कितने भी भले और सामर्थी क्यों हों। इसलिए अति-आवश्यक है कि जब मसीही विश्वासी अपनी निर्धारित सेवकाई के कार्य करे, अपने वरदानों का उपयोग करे तो इस अनिवार्य बात का ध्यान रखते हुए करे, जिससे कि शैतान उसे बहका कर अच्छा लगने वाला परन्तु वास्तव में हानिकारक कार्य न करवाए। 

    इसके लिए स्वाभाविक है कि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को आत्मिक वरदानों के प्रति सही समझ-बूझ और ज्ञान रखना चाहिए। परमेश्वर ने भी अपने लोगों को इस विषय में अनभिज्ञ एवं निःसहाय नहीं छोड़ा है। पवित्र आत्मा ने बाइबल की पुस्तकों में इन वरदानों, और उनके उपयोग के बारे में उपयुक्त विवरण लिखवाया है। अन्य स्थानों के अतिरिक्त, रोम के, और कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों को पौलुस प्रेरित के द्वारा लिखी पत्रियों में इसके विषय इसके बारे में प्रमुख शिक्षाएं मिलती हैं। कुरिन्थुस की मसीही मण्डली को लिखी अपने पहली पत्री में, पौलुस ने लिखा “हे भाइयों, मैं नहीं चाहता कि तुम आत्मिक वरदानों के विषय में अज्ञात रहो” (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:1); और यहाँ से आरंभ कर के 14 अध्याय के अंत तक की चर्चा पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों के बारे में है। इसी प्रकार से रोमियों को लिखी पत्री का 12 अध्याय भी पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों के बारे में है। मसीही सेवकाई में लगे प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को प्रार्थना के साथ, इन अध्यायों में दी गई शिक्षाओं के लिए पवित्र आत्मा का मार्गदर्शन मांगते हुए, इन अध्यायों को बहुत गंभीरता से और बारंबार पढ़ना चाहिए, और इनमें लिखी बातों को अपने जीवन और सेवकाई में लागू करना चाहिए। 

    अगले लेख से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 12 में आत्मिक वरदानों के बारे में लिखी बातों को देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

Introduction

 

    In this currently on-going Bible Study series, we are studying about leading a successful and blessed life as Born-Again Christian Believers, from 1 Kings 2:2-4, i.e., through the instructions given by David to his son Solomon, recently crowned King of Israel. Presently we are on verse 3 of this passage, where David instructs Solomon to be a steward of all that God has given in his charge.

    Similarly, Paul says in 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, that he is a steward of not just a specific gift or responsibility, but of everything that God has given him, entrusted him with; and he has to be its faithful steward. We have also been instructed to emulate Christ in the same manner as Paul used to emulate Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1); Therefore, Paul’s attitude towards stewardship should also be the attitude of every Christian Believer. Christian Believers must realize, live, and function with the knowledge that in God’s eyes, they are stewards of everything that has been given to them by God.

    We have seen in the earlier articles that to every Christian Believer, God has given at least four things:

• His Word

• His Holy Spirit

• His Church and Fellowship of His Children

• Some Gift of the Holy Spirit for their Ministry

    Of these four, in the preceding articles, we have seen about the first three, i.e., every Believer being the steward of God’s Word, of God the Holy Spirit, and of God’s Church and fellowshipping with God’s other children. From today we will begin learning about the fourth topic, the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the Christian Believers stewardship towards them.

    In our study on the role of God the Holy Spirit and the gifts He gives to every Christian Believer for Christian Living and Ministry, we have seen that God has determined some work or the other for every Christian Believer (Ephesians 2:10), and He expects him to be properly and diligently engaged in it. For the help of the Christian Believer to be doing his assigned work properly, not only has God made available to him the help of God the Holy Spirit residing in him, but also the gifts and abilities that the Holy Spirit has given to every Believer. These gifts are appropriate for his ministry, so that each Believer can do his work and ministry well, in a manner acceptable and pleasing to God. In this context we have also seen from Matthew 7:21-23, that only that which is done in the will of God and in obedience to Him and His Word is acceptable to God. No man should expect that anything he does on his own, but adding to it the name of God, will make it acceptable to God and God will bless him for it; this is his own thinking and belief, and is not in accordance with God’s thinking, working and teachings in His Word. Therefore, God rejects all such men and their works, no matter how good or miraculous they may be. Hence, it is mandatory that when a Believer does his assigned work and ministry, and utilizes his gifts given by the Holy Spirit, he always keeps this principle in mind, so that Satan may not entice him away into something seemingly desirable, but actually disastrous.

    Therefore, it is expected and beneficial that every Christian Believer has a proper understanding and knowledge about the gifts the Holy Spirit gives. God has also not left His people unaware and helpless about them. The Holy Spirit has had proper descriptions written about them in the various books of the Bible. Besides what is written in the other places, in the letters written by Paul to the Churches in Rome and Corinth, we have the main teachings on this subject. In his first letter to the Church at Corinth, Paul wrote, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant” (1 Corinthians 12:1); then from here onwards till the end of chapter 14, the topic of consideration is the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Similarly, in the letter to the Romans, chapter 12 is about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Every Believer engaged in Christian ministry should prayerfully, carefully, and repeatedly read and study these chapters; ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, learn, and apply the teachings given here about these gifts in his life and ministry. 

    From the next article we will begin this study by looking at the things written in 1 Corinthians 12 regarding the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
