क्षमा किए और भुलाए गए पापों का स्मरण – 10
इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई आरम्भिक बातों में से छठी बात, “अन्तिम न्याय” के हमारे इस अध्ययन में, पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि प्रथम पाप के साथ तीन और बातें मानवजाति में आ गईं – पहली, मृत्यु, दोनों आत्मिक तथा शारीरिक; दूसरी, मनुष्य के लिए जीवन भर दुःख और परेशानी उठाना और परिश्रम करना; और तीसरी, उनके लिए जो परमेश्वर की ओर मुड़ने और उसे जीवन समर्पित करने का निर्णय लेते हैं, उनके परमेश्वर के साथ बहाल किए जाने और अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफल प्राप्त करने की प्रतिज्ञा। हम देख चुके हैं कि आत्मिक मृत्यु और शारीरिक मृत्यु का क्या बाइबल के अनुसार क्या अर्थ है, और आने वाले लेख में हम इस मृत्यु के सन्दर्भ में प्रभु यीशु के क्रूस पर दिए गए बलिदान के क्या निहितार्थ हैं। हमने यह भी देखा है कि किस प्रकार से मनुष्य के लिए जीवन भर दुःख और परेशानी उठाना, परिश्रम करना, केवल दण्ड देने और परमेश्वर की आज्ञा का उल्लंघन, अर्थात पाप करने के परिणामों को याद दिलाते रहने के लिए ही नहीं है; वरन यह परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके विश्वासियों को लाभ प्रदान करने का भी एक उपाय है, यदि वे उसमें विश्वास बनाए रखकर उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में रहें, और उनके लिए उसकी योजनाओं पर भरोसा रखें। हम देख चुके हैं कि ये लाभ, इस पृथ्वी के तथा स्वर्ग, दोनों स्थानों के लिए हैं; और पृथ्वी पर ये लाभ शारीरिक भी हैं और आत्मिक भी। स्वर्गीय प्रतिफलों के बारे में हम देख चुके हैं कि, अन्तिम न्याय नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों का होगा, यह निर्धारित करने के लिए कि परमेश्वर द्वारा अपनी सन्तानों को दिए जाने के लिए तैयार किए गए प्रतिफलों में से किसे क्या और कितना दिया जाएगा।
इस से हम इस प्रश्न पर आए थे कि यदि क्षमा किए गए पाप भी, अन्ततः खोल कर प्रकट कर दिए जाएँगे, तो फिर उन्हें क्षमा कर देने के बाद, परमेश्वर उन्हें भुला क्यों देता है? स्वर्गीय प्रतिफलों के इस सन्दर्भ में हमने देखा था कि बहुत से विश्वासी परमेश्वर की पापों को क्षमा करके भुला देने की प्रतिज्ञा का दुरुपयोग, पाप करने के लाइसेंस के समान करते हैं। वे पाप करते हैं, उसके लाभ और मज़े लेते हैं, पापमय साँसारिक बातों का आनन्द लेते हैं, और फिर अपने अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफलों को सुरक्षित रखने के लिए पाप को मान लेते हैं, परमेश्वर से उसके लिए क्षमा माँग लेते हैं, इस विश्वास के साथ कि परमेश्वर उनके पाप को भुला देगा, और उसे भूल जाएगा; और यह चक्र चलता रहता है। यदि अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफल देने के लिए परमेश्वर के इस प्रावधान का यह जानबूझकर किया गया दुरुपयोग बिना हिसाब लिए, यूँ ही छोड़ दिया जाएगा, तो फिर वह सही और खरा न्याय कभी नहीं हो सकता है। इसी लिए, कि सभी जान और मान सकें कि न्याय बिल्कुल निष्पक्ष और खरा है, उसकी आलोचना के लिए कोई कारण नहीं है, इस न्याय को खुला, प्रकट, और सबके सामने किया जाएगा, जहाँ हर किसी के बारे में हर बात खोल कर रख दी जाएगी, और तब प्रतिफलों के लिए आँकलन किया जाएगा। इसी लिए, इसका तात्पर्य है कि सभी पाप, वे भी जिन्हें परमेश्वर क्षमा करके भुला चुका है, स्वर्ग में रखे गए उनके लेख भी खोले जाएँगे, और उनका भी हिसाब लिया जाएगा। आज हम अपने जीवनों में प्रतिदिन होने वाली एक बात के द्वारा समझेंगे कि परमेश्वर पाप क्षमा करने के बाद भुला क्यों देता है।
हम बाइबल से अपनी रचना के बारे में जानते हैं कि परमेश्वर ने हमें अपने स्वरूप और समानता में सृजा है। इसका अर्थ है कि हमारे सभी गुण, जो पाप या बुराई से सम्बन्धित नहीं हैं, वे परमेश्वर से हैं, उसके गुणों के अनुरूप हैं। इस बात को ध्यान में रखते हुए, ध्यान कीजिए, क्या होता है जब हम किसी से मिलते हैं, चाहे बहुधा मिलते हों, या फिर कभी-कभी मिलते हैं। हम जब भी किसी भी व्यक्ति से मिलते हैं, तो तुरन्त ही और स्वाभाविक रीति से हमारा ध्यान उस व्यक्ति के जीवन, व्यवहार, आदतों, रवैये, प्रतिष्ठा आदि की ओर, तथा उसके साथ हमारे अनुभवों, वार्तालापों, उसके प्रति हमारी राय, उससे रखी गई हमारी आशाएं, उससे हमें मिले लाभ या हानि, आदि बातों की ओर जाता है; और जो प्रतिक्रिया उस व्यक्ति से मिलने पर हम उसे देते हैं, वह इन सभी बातों के कुल निष्कर्ष के अनुसार होती है। यदि हमारा कुल निष्कर्ष भला और मनोहर है, तो हम उससे मिलकर प्रसन्न होते हैं; यदि वह दुःखद और विचलित करने वाला है तो हम उससे मिलकर अप्रसन्न होते हैं, या हम केवल उदासीन और बेपरवाह होने की भी प्रतिक्रिया दे सकते हैं। लेकिन हम जो भी प्रतिक्रिया देते हैं, वह उस व्यक्ति के प्रति हमारी यादों पर आधारित होती है।
अब हमारे इस गुण पर, इसे परमेश्वर में भी विद्यमान इसी गुण के सन्दर्भ में विचार करें; और फिर इस तथ्य को परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए सभी असंख्य सन्तानों से, दिन में अनेकों बार, उनकी प्रार्थनाओं, आराधना, वचन के अध्ययन, परस्पर संगति और सहभागिता आदि में मिलते रहने पर लागू कीजिए; जबकि वह उनके बारे में और उनके विचारों तथा मन में रखी हुई सभी बातों के बारे में सब कुछ जानता है। बाइबल हमें सिखाती है कि किसी के विरुद्ध किया गया कोई भी पाप, वास्तव में परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध किया गया पाप होता है (उत्पत्ति 20:6; 39:9; 2 शमूएल 12:13; भजन 41:4; 51:4; लूका 15:21; 1 कुरिन्थियों 8:12)। अब इस तथ्य के साथ परमेश्वर के केवल दो और गुण भी जोड़ दीजिए; पहला, “तेरी आंखें ऐसी शुद्ध हैं कि तू बुराई को देख ही नहीं सकता, और उत्पात को देखकर चुप नहीं रह सकता; फिर तू विश्वासघातियों को क्यों देखता रहता, और जब दुष्ट निर्दोष को निगल जाता है, तब तू क्यों चुप रहता है?” (हबक्कूक 1:13); और दूसरा, “परन्तु तुम्हारे अधर्म के कामों ने तुम को तुम्हारे परमेश्वर से अलग कर दिया है, और तुम्हारे पापों के कारण उस का मुँह तुम से ऐसा छिपा है कि वह नहीं सुनता” (यशायाह 59:2)। इन सभी बातों को साथ रखिए, और कल्पना कीजिए, कि परमेश्वर के लिए, और हमारे लिए कैसा होता यदि, जितनी बार पिता परमेश्वर हम से मिलता और उसे वह जो हमारे बारे में वह जानता है और उसे याद रहता है, वह उसके अनुसार और उपरोक्त दोनों पदों के आधार पर प्रतिक्रिया देता?
ऐसी स्थिति में, हमारे लिए जीवन कैसा होता; और हमसे मिलते समय हमारे प्रति परमेश्वर की क्या प्रतिक्रिया होती? और फिर सोचिए कि यह बात परमेश्वर के साथ प्रतिदिन अनेकों बार उसकी असंख्य सन्तानों के लिए होती रहती। क्या परमेश्वर कभी भी, किसी से भी मिलने या संगति करने पाता? क्या वह कभी भी हमारी प्रार्थनाओं को सुनने पाता? क्या हम कभी भी संगति के लिए उसके निकट भी आने पाते? लेकिन अब, हम जैसे ही अपने पापों को मान लेते हैं, परमेश्वर से उनके लिए क्षमा माँग लेते हैं, वह उन्हें क्षमा करके अपने में से उनकी याद को मिटा देता है, यद्यपि स्वर्ग में वे लिख कर रखे गए हैं, और इससे जीवन हमारे तथा परमेश्वर के लिए कितना सहज और सुगम हो गया है। ज़रा विचार कीजिए कि परमेश्वर के ऐसा करने से हमारी कितनी भलाई हुई है, और परमेश्वर के लिए अपनी सन्तानों से मिलना कितना आनन्द पूर्ण हो गया है, क्योंकि उसे, उसके विरुद्ध किए गए उसके बच्चों के पाप कभी याद नहीं आते हैं। थोड़ा सा रुक कर इस बात पर कुछ मनन कीजिए, यह कितनी सीधी और सहज है, लेकिन कितनी अथाह और गम्भीर तथा हमारे प्रति परमेश्वर के प्रेम और देखभाल के बारे में कितना कुछ प्रकट करती है; कैसे परमेश्वर जो भी करता है, वह केवल उसकी सन्तानों के लाभ और भलाई के लिए ही होता है।
हमारे पापों को क्षमा करके भुला देने के द्वारा, लेकिन साथ ही स्वर्ग में उनका लेखा रखने के द्वारा, परमेश्वर ने उपाय किया है जिससे कि हम लाभ पाएँ, हमारे परमेश्वर पिता के साथ हमारी संगति सप्रेम और मनोहर रहे; साथ ही हम उद्धार पाए हुए किन्तु पापी स्वभाव वाले उसके बच्चे उसके इस प्रेम भरे तथा भले प्रावधान का दुरुपयोग नहीं करने पाएँ। अपने वचन में इसके बारे में लिखवाने और इन बातों को प्रकट कर देने के द्वारा कि वह तो पापों को क्षमा करके भूल गया है, लेकिन स्वर्ग में वे लिखे हुए हैं, और उचित समय पर उन्हें खोल कर प्रकट किया जाएगा, उनका उपयुक्त उपयोग किया जाएगा, उसने हर बात में हमारे साथ अपने खुले, पारदर्शी, और स्पष्ट होने का प्रमाण भी दे दिया है।
अगले लेख में हम प्रभु यीशु के बलिदान का मनुष्यों के पापों पर प्रभाव के निहितार्थों को देखेंगे, और फिर परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के एक बहुत जाने-माने पात्र के जीवन से इन बातों को समझेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Remembrance of Sin Forgiven and Forgotten - 10
In this study on “Eternal Judgement,” the sixth elementary principle given in Hebrews 6:1-2, in the previous articles we have seen that along with the first sin, came three things – first, death, spiritual as well as physical; second, life-long suffering, problems, and toil for mankind; and third, a promise of restoration and eternal rewards for those who turn back to God and submit themselves to Him. We have seen what spiritual death and physical death mean Biblically, and in the coming articles we will see the implications of the Lord’s sacrifice on the Cross in context of death. We have seen how the life-long suffering, problems, and toil for mankind are not just an act of retribution and for reminding of the consequences of transgressing God’s command, i.e., committing sin; but the sufferings are also a God given mechanism of providing benefits to His Believers, if they believe in Him, obey Him, and trust His plans for them. We have seen that these benefits through sufferings are both for the earthly life and for the eternal heavenly life; and on earth, they are physical as well as spiritual benefits. For the heavenly rewards, we have seen that the eternal judgment will be of the Born-Again Christian Believers, to ascertain who will get what and how much of the heavenly things prepared by God for His children.
This had brought us to the question that if the forgiven sins, eventually, will have to be brought out into the open, then why does God forget them after forgiving them? In context of these heavenly rewards, we have seen that many Believers tend to misuse God’s promise of forgiving sin and forgetting it, as a license to sin. They do this by committing sin, partaking its earthly benefits, enjoying sinful, worldly things, and then to keep their eternity unaffected, they then ask for God’s forgiveness for the sin, believing that God will forgive and then forget about the sin; and this cycle keeps repeating. If this tendency of deliberately misusing God’s provision is not taken into account while deciding the eternal rewards, then it cannot be a just and fair judgment. So, to show to everyone that this judgment is absolutely fair and above any kind of criticism, it will be done openly, where everything about everyone will be laid open, and evaluated. Therefore, this means that even the sins that God has forgiven and forgotten, their records in heaven will be opened, and the rewards will be given while taking those sins into account. Today we will try to understand why God forget sin after forgiving them, through a daily occurrence in our lives.
We know from the Bible about our creation that we have been created in the image or likeness of God. This implies that all our non-sinful, non-evil characteristics are in conformity with, and derived from the characteristics of God. Keeping this in mind, think of what happens when we meet someone – whether frequently, or infrequently. But whenever we meet a person, immediately and spontaneously our thoughts go towards that person’s life, behavior, habits, attitudes, reputation etc., and also towards our experiences, conversations, opinions, expectations, benefits or losses because of that person, etc.; and our response to meeting that person, is the net result of all these things that have come to our mind about him. If the net result is a good and pleasant one, we are happy to meet him, if it is sad and painful, we are unhappy to meet him, or we might just be indifferent and uncaring about him. But whatever be the response to meeting him, it is the result of the memories we have of that person.
Now, think of this characteristic of ours, as also being a characteristic of God; and apply it to the fact that God meets all His countless truly Born-Again children, many times every day, throughout their lives, through their prayers, worship, Bible study, communion, fellowship, etc. and knows everything about them and their thoughts, what they have in mind and hearts etc. The Bible teaches us that every sin committed against anyone, is eventually a sin against God (Genesis 20:6; 39:9; 2 Samuel 12:13; Psalm 41:4; 51:4; Luke 15:21; 1 Corinthians 8:12). Now to this fact, add just two other characteristics of God; first, “You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?” (Habakkuk 1:13); and second, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). Put these together, and imagine what it would be like for God and for us, if every time He met with us, His response towards us, would be according what He knows and remembers about us, and responds according to just these two verses.
In such a scenario, what would life be like for us; and what would God have to do in His response to meeting us? And then think that this would be something happening with God multiple times every day, with every one of His children, all over the world. Would God ever be able to commune with any of us? Will He at all be able to listen to our prayers? Coud we ever have been able to approach Him for fellowship with Him? But then, as soon as we confess our sins, ask for God’s forgiveness for them, receive the forgiveness from Him, and then he wipes out that sin from His own memory, although they remain in the record books in heaven, how beneficial and convenient life becomes for us as well as for God. Just think, how much good this has made it for us, and how pleasant it is for God to meet His children without having to remember the sins they have committed against Him. Just ponder over this thought, its sheer simplicity, as well as the unfathomable depth of what it conveys about the love and care of God towards us; how everything He does is only centered to help and benefit us His children.
By forgiving and forgetting our sins, yet maintaining their record in heaven, God has put in place a mechanism that benefits us, keeps our communion and fellowship with our heavenly Father loving and sweet; but does not allow any misuse of His loving and caring provision for us – the saved yet sinful children of God. By letting us know through His Word that though He has forgiven and forgotten the sins, yet the records are being kept, they will be opened and utilized at the appropriate time for judging us, He has let us know how open and transparent He is with us about everything.
In the next article we will see the implications of the Lord Jesus’s sacrifice, on the effects of sin on mankind; and will then illustrate it through the life of a very well-known character of God’s Word the Bible.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
