बाइबल में दी गई व्यवस्था और मनुष्य के उद्धार में संबंध

परिचय

    आज से हम एक नई शृंखला का आरंभ कर रहे हैं, एक ऐसे विषय के बारे में जो व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन के एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण पहलू से संबंधित है। मसीही जीवन का यह पहलू कभी-न-कभी सभी को चिंतित करता है, सभी के सामने प्रश्न-चिह्न उठाता है, सभी को इसके वाजिब और स्वीकार्य उत्तर के विषय असमंजस रहता है। साथ ही इसे समझना भी बहुत अनिवार्य है, क्योंकि इसे ठीक से समझे बिना, मसीही विश्वास का जीवन जी पाना कठिन होगा; शैतान बारंबार बहका और भरमा कर कर्मों के द्वारा धार्मिकता होने के फंदे में ले जाता और फँसता रहेगा। किन्तु यदि हम इसकी वास्तविकता को समझ लें, और इसे सही दृष्टिकोण से देखना आरंभ कर दें, तो जिसे शैतान हमारे मसीही विश्वास के जीवन के लिए फंदा बनाना चाहता है, वही हमारे मसीही विश्वास के जीवन के लिए एक दृढ़ता और स्थिरता का कारण हो सकता, हमें शैतान द्वारा बहकाए जाने और अविश्वास तथा अनाज्ञाकारिता में फँसाए जाने से बचने का आधार बन सकता है। जैसा कि इस श्रृंखला के मुख्य शीर्षक से प्रगट है, यह विषय है परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था, और मसीही विश्वास के जीवन में व्यवस्था का स्थान, महत्व, उपयोगिता और व्यवस्था के प्रति सही दृष्टिकोण रखना; तथा क्यों उद्धार, पाप क्षमा, और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होना, परमेश्वर के साथ हमारा मेल-मिलाप हो जाना, व्यवस्था या कर्मों के द्वारा नहीं हैं।

    बहुत से लोगों के लिए यह एक विरोधाभास की बात है कि जब व्यवस्था भी उसी परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई, जो प्रभु यीशु के रूप में देहधारी होकर पृथ्वी पर आया और सभी के उद्धार के लिए बलिदान हुआ; तथा मसीह के बलिदान से पहले परमेश्वर के लोगों, इस्राएलियों, के लिए धार्मिकता का, परमेश्वर के निकट आने का, परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने, आदि का आधार व्यवस्था का पालन करना था; तो फिर अब मनुष्य व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा धर्मी और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य क्यों नहीं माना जा सकता है? मसीह के आने और बलिदान होने के बाद व्यवस्था का क्या महत्व और उपयोगिता है? क्या अब पुराने नियम की धार्मिकता व्यर्थ हो गई है? ऐसे विचार रखना, व्यवस्था और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य धार्मिकता की ठीक समझ न रखने के कारण हैं; और शैतान इन विचारों को उकसा के, और बढ़ा के, परमेश्वर के वचन में अविश्वास उत्पन्न करने के प्रयास करता है। किन्तु वास्तविकता यही है कि उद्धार और प्रभु यीशु के बलिदान को ठीक से समझने के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था को ठीक से समझना और जानना आवश्यक है।

    इस विषय को हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में से मुख्यतः पाँच शीर्षकों के अन्तर्गत देखेंगे; ये शीर्षक हैं:  (1) “भला” क्या और कौन है; इसके लिए मानक (criteria) क्या हैं? (2) जिस व्यवस्था के पालन की बात की जा रही है, वह क्या है? (3) परमेश्वर द्वारा व्यवस्था को दिए जाने का उद्देश्य क्या था? (4) व्यवस्था का पालन क्यों हमें उद्धार नहीं दे सकता है? (5) यह उद्धार प्रभु यीशु मसीह ही में क्यों है, और किसी में क्यों नहीं?

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Relationship Between the Law and Salvation in the Bible

Introduction

    From today we are beginning a new series about a topic that deals with a very important aspect of practical Christian life. This aspect of the Christian life worry’s everyone at some time or the other, raises questions for everyone, and people are often confused about reasonable and acceptable answers regarding the matter. At the same time, it is also very important to understand this, because without understanding it properly, it will be difficult to live the life of the Christian faith. Satan will continue to repeatedly try to deceive us, lead us astray, and to make us fall into the trap of becoming righteous through works. But if we understand the reality, and start looking at the issue from the right perspective, then what Satan tries to make a snare for our Christian life, will become the basis of a strong firm standing and stability for our Christian life, will help us avoid being seduced and misled by Satan, and keep us from getting entangled in unbelief and disobedience. As is given in the main title of this series, the topic is The Law of God, and its place, importance, utility in the life of Christian faith, and having a right perspective about the law; why salvation, forgiveness of sins, and becoming acceptable to God, being reconciled with God are not through the law.

    For many people it seems to be a contradiction that when the Law was given by the same God who became flesh and came to earth as Lord Jesus, to sacrifice His life for the salvation of everyone; and when, before the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus, for the people of God, the Israelites, the basis of righteousness, coming near to God, being pleasing and acceptable to God, etc. were all through the observance of the Law; then why is it that now, after the coming of Christ and His sacrificing Himself, one cannot be considered as righteous and acceptable to God through the observance of the Law? After the coming and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus, what is the importance and utility of the Law? Has the Old Testament righteousness become vain? These, and other such thoughts are because of not having a proper understanding of the Law and of how to be acceptable to God; and Satan promotes and encourages such thinking, to bring doubts and unbelief about the Word of God. But the fact is that salvation and the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus can only be understood by having a correct understanding and knowledge of the Law given by God.

    We'll look at this topic through God's Word, the Bible, mainly under five headings; These headings are: (1) What and who is “good”; What are the criteria for this? (2) What is The Law that is being talked about? (3) What was the purpose of God's giving of The Law? (4) Why can't the keeping of The Law save us? (5) Why is salvation only in the Lord Jesus Christ, and why not in anyone else?

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

बाइबल और भौतिक-विज्ञान - 4 - चिन्ह और अन्त  

    हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल और विज्ञान के सम्बन्ध को, बाइबल तथा जीव-विज्ञान विषय के अन्तर्गत पिछले कुछ लेखों से देखते चले आ रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि न तो विज्ञान बाइबल और परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध है, और न ही परमेश्वर या बाइबल, विज्ञान के विरुद्ध हैं। वास्तव में विज्ञान तो केवल परमेश्वर की सृष्टि और उसकी कार्यविधि का अध्ययन करने, उसे समझने का एक साधन मात्र है। विज्ञान केवल तथ्य बताता है, जानकारी देता है। क्योंकि विज्ञान सृष्टि की केवल जानकारी उपलब्ध करवाता है, इसलिये विज्ञान सृष्टि के सृष्टिकर्ता के विरुद्ध कुछ उजागर अथवा प्रस्तुत कर ही नहीं सकता है। विज्ञान पर एक मिथ्या आरोप है कि विज्ञान ने परमेश्वर के अस्तित्व को नकार दिया है। जिस प्रकार से किसी रची हुई वस्तु के बारे में सीख-समझ लेने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं हो जाता है कि उसका कोई रचनाकार नहीं था, उसी प्रकार से विज्ञान द्वारा सृष्टि के तथ्य प्रकट कर देने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं होता है कि सृष्टि का कोई सृष्टिकर्ता नहीं है। बल्कि विज्ञान ने सृष्टि की अद्भुत बातों को प्रकट करने के द्वारा सृष्टिकर्ता की अद्भुत बुद्धि, सामर्थ्य, क्षमता, और कौशल के प्रमाण दिये हैं। 

विज्ञान द्वारा उजागर और प्रस्तुत किये गये तथ्यों का विश्लेषण करना और उनके आधार पर निष्कर्ष और धारणाएँ बनाना,  मनुष्यों - वैज्ञानिकों का कार्य है; और जैसे-जैसे नए तथ्य सामने आते चले जाते हैं, मनुष्यों - वैज्ञानिकों द्वारा दी गई व्याख्या, धारणा, और निष्कर्ष भी बदलते चले जाते हैं - उन में सुधार हो सकता है, या वे पूर्णतः बदले भी जा सकते हैं। इसलिये विज्ञान पर आधारित कोई भी बात कभी भी स्थिर और अटल नहीं हो सकती है; सदा परिवर्तनीय ही रहती है। इस संदर्भ में विज्ञान को लेकर दो बातों का ध्यान रखना अति आवश्यक है। पहली तो यह कि क्योंकि वैज्ञानिक भी मनुष्य ही हैं इसलिये, उन से अपनी व्याख्याओं और निष्कर्षों में गलतियाँ हो सकती हैं, व्याख्या करने से सम्बन्धित उनके अपने पूर्वाग्रह भी हो सकते हैं, और इसी लिये उनकी व्याख्या पक्षपाती भी हो सकती है; और यह भी एक जाना-माना तथ्य है कि कुछ वैज्ञानिकों ने अपनी ही धारणा को सही दिखाने के लिये स्वयं ही कुछ बातों को गढ़ा, और उन्हें “तथ्य” कहकर प्रस्तुत किया, जैसे की पिल्टडाउन मैन का धोखा। इन सभी बातों को, और इन से सम्बन्धित प्रमाणों को हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। और दूसरी बात यह कि एक बहुत आम प्रयोग किया जाने वाला कथन है “विज्ञान कहता है…; विज्ञान बताता है…” आदि - किन्तु वास्तविकता यह है कि विज्ञान अपने आप से कभी कुछ नहीं कहता या बताता है; विज्ञान तो केवल तथ्य उजागर या प्रकट कर देता है। किन्तु उन तथ्यों के लेकर कुछ भी कहने या बताने का काम - वह कहा गया चाहे सही हो या गलत - हमेशा लोग - वैज्ञानिक ही करते हैं; और जैसा हमने अभी देखा है, आवश्यक नहीं है कि उनकी कही हर बात हमेशा सही ही हो, या सच ही हो। 

  हाल के कुछ पिछले लेखों से हमने परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में लिखी भौतिक विज्ञान से सम्बन्धित कुछ बातों को देखा है, जिन्हें हजारों वर्ष पहले, साधारण अवैज्ञानिक, साधारण और अशिक्षित अथवा कम शिक्षित लोगों के समझ में आने वाली, आलंकारिक लगने वाली भाषा में लिखा गया; ऐसी बातें जिन के बारे में उस समय के लोग अपने आप से कल्पना कर के कभी कुछ नहीं जान या समझ सकते थे। सबसे पहले हमने पानी के चक्र के बारे में देखा था, फिर हमने पृथ्वी और प्राणियों के प्रति परमेश्वर के दृष्टिकोण को देखा, और उसके बाद अन्त के समय में पृथ्वी को दूषित करके बर्बाद करने वालों और उनके न्याय की भविष्यवाणी के बारे में देखा। फिर पिछले लेख में हमने अय्यूब की पुस्तक में 4000 वर्ष पहले प्रकाश, तरंगों, और वायु से सम्बन्धित बातें देखीं, जिन्हें वैज्ञानिक अब पहचानने पाए हैं। आज हम अन्य बाइबल में अन्य स्थानों पर लिखी कुछ और बातों को देखेंगे। 

सृष्टि के आरम्भ, उत्पत्ति के समय से ही परमेश्वर ने आकाश की ज्योतियों और तारागणों को चिह्नों, दिन और रात, समय निर्धारण, दिनों और वर्षों के निर्धारण के लिए बनाया था, “फिर परमेश्वर ने कहा, दिन को रात से अलग करने के लिये आकाश के अन्तर में ज्योतियां हों; और वे चिन्हों, और नियत समयों, और दिनों, और वर्षों के कारण हों। और वे ज्योतियां आकाश के अन्तर में पृथ्वी पर प्रकाश देने वाली भी ठहरें; और वैसा ही हो गया। तब परमेश्वर ने दो बड़ी ज्योतियां बनाईं; उन में से बड़ी ज्योति को दिन पर प्रभुता करने के लिये, और छोटी ज्योति को रात पर प्रभुता करने के लिये बनाया: और तारागण को भी बनाया” (उत्पत्ति 1:14-16); और लगभग 2600 वर्ष पहले यिर्मयाह नबी मे लिखा “जिसने दिन को प्रकाश देने के लिये सूर्य को और रात को प्रकाश देने के लिये चन्द्रमा और तारागण के नियम ठहराए हैं, जो समुद्र को उछालता और उसकी लहरों को गरजाता है, और जिसका नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है, वही यहोवा यों कहता है” (यिर्मयाह 31:35)। मनुष्य ने परमेश्वर के इस उद्देश्य को उसके लिखे जाने के हजारों वर्ष बाद पहचाना और उसका सही उपयोग किया। 

जगत के अंत और न्याय होने के लिए परमेश्वर के सम्मुख खड़े होने के समय की भविष्यवाणी करते समय प्रभु यीशु का शिष्य पतरस लिखता है, “परन्तु प्रभु का दिन चोर के समान आ जाएगा, उस दिन आकाश बड़ी हड़हड़ाहट के शब्द से जाता रहेगा, और तत्‍व बहुत ही तप्‍त हो कर पिघल जाएंगे, और पृथ्वी और उस पर के काम जल जाऐंगे। तो जब कि ये सब वस्तुएं, इस रीति से पिघलने वाली हैं, तो तुम्हें पवित्र चाल चलन और भक्ति में कैसे मनुष्य होना चाहिए। और परमेश्वर के उस दिन की बाट किस रीति से जोहना चाहिए और उसके जल्द आने के लिये कैसा यत्‍न करना चाहिए; जिस के कारण आकाश आग से पिघल जाएंगे, और आकाश के गण बहुत ही तप्‍त हो कर गल जाएंगे” (2 पतरस 3:10-12), जो परमाणु हथियारों के प्रयोग का सटीक वर्णन है, अंत के समय के लिए भविष्यवाणी है। आज से 2000 वर्ष पहले, जब ऐसे कोई हथियार या तरीके नहीं थे, जिनसे तत्व बहुत ही गर्म होकर पिघल जाएं, पृथ्वी और उस पर के काम जल जाएं, भयानक ध्वनि हो, आकाश की उपस्थिति दृष्टि से लुप्त हो जाए, तब इन बातों को बताना, जिन्हें आज हम परमाणु अस्त्रों के प्रयोग के परिणाम के रूप में जानते हैं, क्या किसी मानवीय बुद्धि की कल्पना से हो सकता है?

संसार के हालात, प्रकृति में होने वाली अप्रत्याशित, अभूतपूर्व विनाशकारी बातें, सभी 2000 वर्ष पहले प्रभु यीशु की भविष्यवाणियों (मत्ती 24 अध्याय) के अनुसार, प्रभु के दूसरे आगमन और जगत के अंत तथा सभी मनुष्यों न्याय के शीघ्र ही होने की ओर संकेत कर रही हैं। सारे संसार में प्रकृति और प्राकृतिक चक्र बहुत बिगड़ चुके हैं, विनाशकारी हो चुके हैं। इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि आज संसार परमाणु युद्ध की कगार पर खड़ा है। परमाणु अस्त्र रखने वाली शक्तियाँ एक-दूसरे पर अपना वर्चस्व स्थापित करने की होड़ में लगी हैं। संसार भर में हर स्थान, हर जाति, हर देश में तनाव है; बात-बात में एक-दूसरे पर चढ़ाई करने की या तो धमकी दी जाती है अथवा हमला कर दिया जाता है। सबसे अधिक भय अब इस बात का होने लगा है कि आतंकी संघटन और देश अब परमाणु हथियारों को अर्जित करने के प्रयास में लग गए हैं, और कर भी लेंगे। ऐसे में परमाणु विश्व-युद्ध को रोक पाना यदि असंभव नहीं तो बहुत कठिन अवश्य हो जाएगा। अब यह आपको विचार करना है कि क्या आप इस अवश्यंभावी परिस्थिति का सामना करने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं। 

चाहे जगत का अंत आपके जीवन काल में न भी हो, तो भी जीवन समाप्त होने के पश्चात, प्रभु परमेश्वर के सामने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तो खड़ा होना ही है (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; रोमियों 14:12; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। यदि आत्मा पर पाप को लिए हुए जाएंगे, तो फिर परमेश्वर के साथ नहीं रह पाएंगे। आज ही स्वेच्छा से, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों की क्षमा माँगकर पापों को धो लीजिए, परमेश्वर के साथ अनन्तकाल की आशीष और सुख में रहने के लिए तैयार हो जाइए। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना, आपके जीवन को विनाश से आशीष में लाकर खड़ा कर सकती है - निर्णय आपका है। आपको बस कुछ इस प्रकार से सच्चे मन से, स्वेच्छा से, पापों के लिए पश्चाताप की मनसा के साथ प्रभु को पुकारना है, “हे प्रभु यीशु, मैं स्वीकार करता हूँ कि मैं आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता का दोषी हूँ, पापी हूँ। मैं मानता हूँ कि आपने मेरे सभी पाप अपने ऊपर लेकर, क्रूस पर अपना बलिदान देने के द्वारा उनके सारे दण्ड को मेरे लिए सह लिया, मेरे स्थान पर आपने उनकी पूरी कीमत चुका दी। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, अपना आज्ञाकारी शिष्य बनाएं, और अपने साथ बनाकर रखें।” समय रहते सही निर्णय कर लें, कही बाद में बहुत देर न हो जाए, मौका हाथ से निकाल न जाए।

Bible and Physical Sciences - 4 - Signs and End

In the past few articles, we have been examining the relationship between the Word of God - the Bible and science, under the topic Bible and Bio-Sciences. We have seen that neither is science opposed to the Bible and God, nor are God or the Bible opposed to science. In reality, science is merely a tool to study and understand God’s creation and the manner in which it functions. Science only presents facts and provides information. Since science only brings to light and provides information about the created things, therefore, there is no way it can possibly reveal or present anything against the Creator of creation. There is a false allegation against science, that science has disproven the existence of God. Just as learning and understanding details about a created object does not prove that it had no creator, in the same way, the revelation of facts about creation by science does not prove that there is no Creator. Rather, by revealing the wondrous aspects of creation, science has provided evidence of the Creator’s marvelous wisdom, power, capability, and skill.

Analyzing the facts revealed and presented by science, and forming conclusions and theories based on them, is the work of men - scientists. As new facts continue to come to light, the interpretations, theories, and conclusions given by men - scientists, also continue to change—the existing may be improved, or they may be completely discarded and replaced by new ones. Therefore, any interpretations, theories, and conclusions based on science can never be infallible, final, and immutable; they always remain changeable. In this context, it is extremely important to always keep two things in mind regarding science. First is that since scientists too are human beings therefore, they can make mistakes in their interpretations and conclusions; they may also have their own biases related to interpretation, and thus their interpretations can be prejudiced. It is also a well-known fact that some scientists have themselves fabricated certain things in order to prove their own theories correct and have presented them as “facts,” e.g., the Piltdown man being the missing link hoax. We have already seen all these things, and the evidence related to them, in previous articles. The second point is that a very commonly used statement is, “science says…; science tells…” etc.—but the reality is that science by itself never says or tells anything; science only reveals or presents facts. However, the task of saying or telling anything on the basis of those facts—whether what is said is right or wrong—is always done by people - the scientists; and as we have just seen, it is not necessary that whatever they say will always be correct, or be the truth.

In the recent articles we have seen some things related to Physical Sciences that were written in God’s Word the Bible, thousands of years ago in simple, non-scientific, idiomatic language, which the simple uneducated or poorly educated people could understand; things which the people of those times could never have imagined and figured out by themselves. We first saw about the water cycle; then we saw God’s perspective about this earth and the living things of earth. And after that we saw that about the end-times prophecy of the world getting destroyed because of environmental degradation, and God’s judgment on those who destroy the world. In the last article we looked at some of the things related to light, waves and frequencies, and air written in the oldest book of the Bible, the Book of Job, about 4000 years ago; but the scientists have been discovered recently. Today we will see a couple of things written at other places in the Bible

From the time of creation, since the beginning of the universe, God created the lights and stars of the sky to determine the times, days and nights, to determine the days and years, “Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also” (Genesis 1:14-16); and about 2600 years ago, the Prophet Jeremiah wrote “Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name)” (Jeremiah 31:35). Man could recognize this purpose of God and make good use of it, thousands of years after it had been written.

When prophesying about the end of the world and the time to stand before God for judgment, the disciple of the Lord Jesus, Peter wrote, “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?” (2 Peter 3:10-12), which is an accurate description of the destruction caused by the use of nuclear weapons. This, in a prophecy for the end times, given 2000 years ago, when there were no weapons or methods by which the elements would become very hot and melt, the earth and the works on it would burn, there would be a terrible sound of a blast, the visibility of the sky disappearing from sight. We know these things today by our knowledge of the use of nuclear weapons, but it is humanly impossible for Peter or any other person to even imagine and then to write and tell about these things at the time this was written. It simply cannot be through the thoughts or imaginations of any human intelligence.

The prevailing political and economic state of the world; the unpredictable, unprecedented destructive things that are happening in nature, are all according to the prophecies of the Lord Jesus given 2000 years ago (Matthew 24);  All of these current events are pointing to the second coming of the Lord, the end of the world, and the judgment of all human beings, in the near future.. All over the world, nature and natural cycles have become disrupted, gone haywire, are causing a lot of destruction. There is no doubt that today the world is standing on the verge of nuclear war. The powers possessing nuclear weapons are competing to establish their supremacy over each other. There is tension all over the world in every place, in every race, in every country. Countries and alliances keep trying to have an upper hand over their rivals, they either threaten each other, or indirectly terrorize their rivals, or even attack and invade. The biggest fear now is that terrorist organizations and their supporting countries are now trying to acquire nuclear weapons, and eventually will acquire them in some way. In such a situation, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to avert a nuclear world war. Now it is for you to consider and decide whether you are prepared and ready to face this inevitable situation or not.

Even if the end of the world does not happen in your lifetime, still, after the end of this earthly life, everyone will have to stand before the Lord God to give account of their life to Him (Acts 17:30-31; Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10). If the soul will stand before God with sin, then it will not be able to live with God. Voluntarily today, just now, ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, ask Him to wash away your sins, and to make you ready to live in eternal blessings and happiness with God. A single prayer from a sincere and submissive heart can lift your life from destruction to blessing - the decision is yours. All you have to do is call upon the Lord with a sincere heart, voluntarily, with a heartfelt sincere repentance of your sins; you can pray something like this, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I am guilty of disobeying you, I am a sinner. I believe and accept that you took all my sins upon yourself, bore all their punishment for me by sacrificing yourself on the Cross, and paid their full price in my place. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, make me your obedient disciple, and keep me with you." Take the right decision while you have the time and opportunity, before it is too late, and you miss the opportunity.

हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल और विज्ञान के सम्बन्ध को, बाइबल तथा जीव-विज्ञान विषय के अन्तर्गत पिछले कुछ लेखों से देखते चले आ रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि न तो विज्ञान बाइबल और परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध है, और न ही परमेश्वर या बाइबल, विज्ञान के विरुद्ध हैं। वास्तव में विज्ञान तो केवल परमेश्वर की सृष्टि और उसकी कार्यविधि का अध्ययन करने, उसे समझने का एक साधन मात्र है। विज्ञान केवल तथ्य बताता है, जानकारी देता है। क्योंकि विज्ञान सृष्टि की केवल जानकारी उपलब्ध करवाता है, इसलिये विज्ञान सृष्टि के सृष्टिकर्ता के विरुद्ध कुछ उजागर अथवा प्रस्तुत कर ही नहीं सकता है। विज्ञान पर एक मिथ्या आरोप है कि विज्ञान ने परमेश्वर के अस्तित्व को नकार दिया है। जिस प्रकार से किसी रची हुई वस्तु के बारे में सीख-समझ लेने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं हो जाता है कि उसका कोई रचनाकार नहीं था, उसी प्रकार से विज्ञान द्वारा सृष्टि के तथ्य प्रकट कर देने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं होता है कि कोई सृष्टिकर्ता नहीं है। बल्कि विज्ञान ने सृष्टि की अद्भुत बातों को प्रकट करने के द्वारा सृष्टिकर्ता की अद्भुत बुद्धि, सामर्थ्य, क्षमता, और कौशल के प्रमाण दिये हैं। 

विज्ञान द्वारा उजागर और प्रस्तुत किये गये तथ्यों का विश्लेषण करना और उनके आधार पर निष्कर्ष और धारणाएँ बनाना, वैज्ञानिकों का कार्य है। और जैसे-जैसे नए तथ्य सामने आते चले जाते हैं, व्याख्या, धारणा, और निष्कर्ष भी बदलते चले जाते हैं - उन में सुधार हो सकता है, या वे पूर्णतः बदले भी जा सकते हैं। इसलिये विज्ञान पर आधारित कोई भी व्याख्या, धारणा, और निष्कर्ष कभी भी स्थिर, अन्तिम, और अटल नहीं हो सकते हैं; सदा परिवर्तनीय ही रहते हैं। इस संदर्भ में विज्ञान को लेकर दो बातों का ध्यान रखना अति आवश्यक है। पहली तो यह कि वैज्ञानिक भी मनुष्य ही हैं। इसलिये, उन से अपनी व्याख्याओं और निष्कर्षों में गलतियाँ हो सकती हैं, व्याख्या करने से सम्बन्धित उनके अपने पूर्वाग्रह भी हो सकते हैं, और इसी लिये उनकी व्याख्या पक्षपाती भी हो सकती है। और यह भी एक जाना-माना तथ्य है कि कुछ वैज्ञानिकों ने अपनी ही धारणा को सही दिखाने के लिये स्वयं ही कुछ बातों को गढ़ा, और उन्हें “तथ्य” कहकर प्रस्तुत किया, जैसे कि पिलटडाउन मैन का छल। इन सभी बातों को, और इन से सम्बन्धित प्रमाणों को हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। और दूसरी बात यह कि, एक बहुत आम प्रयोग किया जाने वाला कथन है “विज्ञान कहता है…; विज्ञान का दृष्टिकोण है…” आदि - किन्तु वास्तविकता यह है कि विज्ञान कभी कुछ नहीं कहता है; विज्ञान तो केवल तथ्य उजागर या प्रकट कर देता है। किन्तु उन तथ्यों के लेकर कुछ भी कहने का काम - कहा गया सही हो या गलत - हमेशा लोग - वैज्ञानिक ही करते हैं। विज्ञान को आधार बनाकर, या उसकी आड़ में, जो भी कहना होता है, उसे लोग या वैज्ञानिक ही कहते हैं; और जैसा हमने अभी देखा है, आवश्यक नहीं है कि उनकी कही हर बात हमेशा सही ही हो, या सच ही हो। 

पिछले दो लेखों में हमने पानी के चक्र के बारे में देखा था, और यह भी देखा था कि जब प्रदूषण और जल-वायु के बिगड़ने की कोई समझ या ज्ञान अथवा संभावना का भी संसार के लोगों को पता नहीं था, तब ही लगभग 2000 वर्ष पहले, परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन बाइबल में लिखवा दिया था कि पृथ्वी को बिगाड़ने वालों को उनके किए के लिए परमेश्वर के न्याय का सामना करना पड़ेगा। आज हम बाइबल की सबसे प्राचीन, 4000 वर्ष पहले लिखी गई, अय्यूब की पुस्तक से, भौतिक विज्ञान की, पानी के चक्र से भी जटिल बातों के बारे में देखेंगे, जो हमारे पहले के लेखों में कहे गए एक तथ्य की पुष्टि करती हैं कि परमेश्वर की सृष्टि, अपने रचयिता के पक्ष में ही गवाही देगी, उसके विरुद्ध कभी नहीं।

सुप्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक सर आइज़क न्यूटन ने प्रकाश के बारे में बहुत खोज की, उसके गुणों का, और उसके विषय कुछ नियमों पता लगाया। जैसे कि, उन्होंने दिखाया, सूर्य के प्रकाश को सात रंगों में फैलाया जा सकता है और उन्हें फिर से एक साथ कर के पहले जैसे प्रकाश में परिवर्तित किया जा सकता है; और यह कि प्रकाश का अपना का एक निश्चित मार्ग होता है, जिसके अनुसार वह जाता है। अय्यूब के वृतांत में, सृष्टि के विषय अय्यूब से प्रश्न करते समय, परमेश्वर ने उससे पूछा और लिखवा दिया था, “उजियाले के निवास का मार्ग कहां है, और अन्धियारे का स्थान कहां है?” (अय्यूब 38:19); “किस मार्ग से उजियाला फैलाया जाता है, ओर पुरवाई पृथ्वी पर बहाई जाती है?” (अय्यूब 38:24); अर्थात, प्रकाश के जाने का एक निर्धारित मार्ग है और उजियाले को फैलाया [बाइबल के विभिन्न अंग्रेजी अनुवाद यह ‘फैलाया’ से और भी अधिक सटीक शब्द divided, parted, diffused, dispersed आदि के प्रयोग द्वारा व्यक्त करते हैं] जा सकता है। जिस वैज्ञानिक तथ्य को पहचानने और प्रमाणित करने में न्यूटन जैसे वैज्ञानिक को समय और परिश्रम लगाना पड़ा, उसे परमेश्वर ने एक सामान्य मनुष्य पर पहले ही प्रकट कर दिया था। 

अय्यूब के साथ अपने वार्तालाप में परमेश्वर उससे एक और अद्भुत प्रश्न पूछता है, “क्या तू बिजली को आज्ञा दे सकता है, कि वह जाए, और तुझ से कहे, मैं उपस्थित हूँ?” (अय्यूब 38:35)। मूल इब्रानी भाषा के जिस शब्द का अनुवाद यहाँ पर “बिजली” किया गया है, उसका शब्दार्थ होता है “चमक या चमकने वाली”; इसलिये इसका शब्दार्थ के अनुसार अनुवाद होगा “क्या तू चमक या चमकने वाली को आज्ञा दे सकता है, कि वह जाए, और तुझ से कहे, मैं उपस्थित हूँ?” दूसरे शब्दों में, प्रकाश में या “चमक या चमकने वाली” में वह गुण है कि उसको एक से दूसरे स्थान पर भेजा जा सकता है, और उसे ध्वनि में परिवर्तित किया जा सकता है, इस गुण की सहायता से उसके माध्यम से संदेश भी भेजे जा सकते हैं। जिसे परमेश्वर ने 4000 वर्ष पहले कहा था, उसे विज्ञान ने अब पहचाना है कि प्रकाश, रेडियो तरंगें, और ध्वनि तरंगें एक ही प्रकार की ऊर्जा के, उसकी भिन्न आवृत्तियों (frequencies) के अनुसार, भिन्न स्वरूप हैं, एक से दूसरे स्थान पर स्वरूप परिवर्तित करके भेजे जा सकते हैं और इस गुण के उपयोग के द्वारा संदेश एक से दूसरे स्थान पर भेजे जा सकते हैं - हमारे टी.वी. रेडियो, फोन, औडियो और वीडियो संचार प्रणालियाँ, आदि सभी इसी सिद्धांत पर कार्य करती हैं, जिसे परमेश्वर ने इन बातों के विज्ञान द्वारा पता चलने से पहले ही पहले ही साधारण शब्दों में व्यक्त कर दिया था। 

पहले यह माना जाता था कि वायु में कोई भार नहीं है। किन्तु अय्यूब की पुस्तक में ही परमेश्वर द्वारा वायु का तौल निर्धारित करने की बात कही गई है “जब उसने वायु का तौल ठहराया, और जल को नपुए में नापा” (अय्यूब 28:25)। जिसे मनुष्यों द्वारा पहचाने जाने में सदियाँ लग गईं, उसे परमेश्वर ने 4000 वर्ष पहले ही बता दिया था।

जिस परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में साधारण लोगों द्वारा वैज्ञानिक तथ्य हजारों वर्ष पहले लिखवा दिये थे, उसी ने संसार के अवश्यंभावी अन्त और सभी लोगों के अपने जीवनों का हिसाब देने और न्याय का सामना करने के बारे में भी लिखवा दिया था (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; रोमियों 14:12; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। अब यह आपके लिए विचार करने और निर्णय लेने का समय है - क्या आप परमेश्वर के उस अवश्यंभावी न्याय का सामना करने, उसके सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन के हर एक पल का हिसाब देने, अपने मन, ध्यान, विचार, और व्यवहार की हर बात, हर सोच, हर कल्पना का हिसाब देने को तैयार हैं? 

परमेश्वर आपको अवसर दे रहा है; यदि आज तक भी आपने उसकी आपको दी जाने वाली पापों की क्षमा के इस अवसर को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अभी फिर आपके पास मौका है। आप अभी स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे मन से, अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी मन के साथ यह छोटी सी प्रार्थना कर सकते हैं, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं स्वीकार करता हूँ कि मैंने मन, ध्यान, विचार, और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किया है। मैं यह भी मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों की सजा को अपने ऊपर उठाया लिया, और उसे पूर्णतः चुका दिया है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और अपना आज्ञाकारी शिष्य बना लें, और अपने साथ बनाकर रखें।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी यह छोटी सी प्रार्थना आपके मन और जीवन को बदल देगी, आपको परमेश्वर की संतान बनाकर, पापों के दण्ड से मुक्ति तथा अब से लेकर अनन्तकाल तक के लिए स्वर्गीय आशीषों का वारिस बना देगी। निर्णय आपका है।

Bible and Physical Sciences - 3 - Light, Lightning, Air

We have been examining the relationship between the Bible, the Word of God, and science, under the topic Bible and Bio-Sciences, in the past few articles. We have seen that neither is science opposed to the Bible and God, nor are God or the Bible opposed to science. In reality, science is merely a means to study and understand God’s creation and the manner in which it functions. Science only presents facts and provides information. Since science only brings to light and provides information about creation, therefore, there is no way it can possibly reveal or present anything against the Creator of creation. There is a false accusation against science, that science has disproven the existence of God. Just as learning and understanding details about a created object does not prove that it had no creator, in the same way, the revelation of facts about creation by science does not prove that there is no Creator. Rather, by revealing the wondrous aspects of creation, science has provided evidence of the Creator’s marvelous wisdom, power, capability, and skill.

Analyzing the facts revealed and presented by science, and forming conclusions and theories based on them, is the work of scientists. As new facts continue to come to light, the interpretations, theories, and conclusions also continue to change—the existing ones may be improved, or they may be completely discarded and replaced by new ones. Therefore, any interpretations, theories, and conclusions based on science can never be infallible, final, and immutable; they always remain changeable. In this context, it is extremely important to always keep two things in mind regarding science. First is that scientists too are human beings. Therefore, they can make mistakes in their interpretations and conclusions; they may also have their own biases related to interpretation, and thus their interpretations can be prejudiced. It is also a well-known fact that some scientists have themselves fabricated certain things in order to prove their own theories correct and have presented them as “facts,” e.g., the Piltdown man being the missing link hoax. We have already seen all these things, and the evidence related to them, in previous articles. The second point is that a very commonly used statement is, “science says…; the viewpoint of science is…” etc.—but the reality is that science itself never says anything; science only reveals or presents facts. However, the task of saying anything on the basis of those facts—whether what is said is right or wrong—is always done by people - the scientists. Whatever is to be said on the basis of science, or under its cover, is said by the people, the scientists themselves; and as we have just seen, it is not necessary that whatever they say will always be correct, or be the truth.

In the previous two articles we have seen about the water cycle, and we had also seen that about 2000 years ago, when the people of the world did not have any concept, understanding, or knowledge of such severe and significant deterioration of water and air qualities because of pollution, and its existence threatening effects on life in general and on mankind in particular, and did not even think about the possibility of this to ever occur, yet God had it written in His Word, the Bible, that those who ruined the earth would face God's judgment for their actions. Today we'll look at some of the things related to Physics, written in the oldest book of the Bible, the Book of Job about 4000 years ago, things that are even more complicated than the water cycle, and which confirm as fact what we had said in some earlier articles, that God's creation will testify only in favor of its creator, never against Him, ever.

The famous scientist Sir Isaac Newton discovered a lot of things about light and its properties, and discovered some laws about it. For example, he showed, sunlight can be dispersed into seven colors and they can be re-combined into the same light as before; And that light travels in a definite, set path of its own. In the account of Job, while questioning Job about creation, God asked him and had it written, "Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place?" (Job 38:19); "By what way is light diffused, Or the east wind scattered over the earth?" (Job 38:24); implying that there is a set, definite path for the light to traverse [various English translations of the Bible instead of this word “scattered” use more precise words like, divided, parted, diffused, dispersed, etc.]. The scientific fact that a scientist like Newton took a long time and much effort to identify and prove, had already been revealed by God to an ordinary man, thousands of years ago.

In his conversation with Job, God asks him another wonderful question, "Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, And say to you, 'Here we are!'?" (Job 38:35). The original Hebrew word here translated as "lightning" literally means "shine", or something that shines; i.e., the literal translation would be “Can you send out shines, that they may go, And say to you, 'Here we are!'?” In other words, light or its "shine" has the quality that it can be made to go from one place to another, and it can be made “to say” things, i.e., it can be converted into sound, and with the help of this quality messages can also be sent through it. What God said 4000 years ago, science has now recognized that light, radio waves, and sound waves are different forms of the same type of energy, but of different frequencies, and messages can be sent from one place to another using this property - our TVs, radio, phone, audio and video call systems, etc., all work on this very principle, which God had already expressed in simple understandable words, before these things about energy forms, waves and frequencies etc. were learnt by mankind through science.

Earlier it was believed that there is no weight in air. But it is written in the book of Job that God determined the weight of air "To establish a weight for the wind, And apportion the waters by measure" (Job 28:25). What mankind took centuries to recognize had already been told by God 4000 years ago.

The God who had got scientific facts written down by common people, thousands of years ago, had also got written down about the inevitable end of the world and every person having to give an account of their life and face judgment (Acts 17:30-31; Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Now it's time for you to reflect and decide - are you ready and prepared to face that inevitable judgment of God? To stand before Him and give an account of every single moment of your life, of everything in your mind, attitude, thought, and behavior? 

God is giving you the opportunity; If till today you have not accepted this opportunity of forgiveness of your sins, that has been given to you, then you still have this opportunity available to you. You can utilize it just now by voluntarily, sincerely, with a repentant heart for your sins, saying this short prayer, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You and sinned in mind, attitude, thought, and behavior. I also believe that you have taken upon yourself the punishment for my sins by your sacrifice on the Cross, and have paid for them in full. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, make me your obedient disciple, and keep me with you." This small prayer of yours, said with a sincere and committed heart will transform your mind and life, make you a child of God, free you from the punishment of your sins, and make you an heir of heavenly blessings from now to eternity. The decision is yours.
