बचे रहने में अनुपम और विशिष्ट भाग - 2
इस विषय पर अपने पिछले लेख में हमने बाइबल की पुस्तकों के लिखे जाने, और संकलित किये जाने के इतिहास को संक्षेप में दोहराया था, और देखा था कि किस प्रकार, किसी भी मानवीय आधार पर इसे समझा या समझाया नहीं जा सकता है। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि पुरातत्व खोजों ने यह अचूक प्रमाणित कर दिया है कि बाइबल की पुस्तकों को संकलित करते समय, उनके लेखों में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं किया गया। अर्थात इस आरोप का कोई आधार, कोई प्रमाण नहीं है कि बाइबल को संकलित करते समय उसकी पुस्तकों में सामंजस्य बैठाने तथा किसी विरोधाभास को मिटाने के लिये कोई फेर-बदल किया गया था।
साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि संसार के इतिहास में बाइबल ही हमेशा से सर्वाधिक अनुवादित, प्रकाशित, एवं वितरित होने वाली पुस्तक रही है, जिसके विश्वव्यापी आँकड़े अरबों प्रतियों के हैं; तथा संसार की वर्तमान जनसँख्या का केवल 0.445% अंश ही बाइबल या उसके किसी अंश के उसकी अपनी भाषा में उपलब्ध होने से वंचित है; और इसे भी दूर करने के प्रयास ज़ारी हैं।
बाइबल का इतिहास हमें दिखाता है कि बाइबल के आरम्भिक लेख पौधों से बने, बहुत ही नाज़ुक और शीघ्र ही गल जाने, नष्ट हो जाने वाले पैपिरस पर लिखे गए थे, किन्तु आज भी 2400 ईस्वी पूर्व में पैपिरस पर लिखे गए कुछ लेख सुरक्षित विद्यमान हैं। हमने देखा था कि बाइबल के लेखों की खराई को बनाए रखने के लिए किस प्रकार प्राचीन यहूदियों ने एक बहुत ही उद्यमी प्रणाली विकसित की थी जिससे लेखों में कोई त्रुटि न आने पाए।
यह सब दिखाता है कि बाइबल ही संसार की एकमात्र पुस्तक है जिसे सुरक्षित रखने के इतने गहन प्रयास किये गए हैं, क्योंकि इसके संदेश का सारे संसार के सभी लोगों के लिये परमेश्वर की ओर से एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण उद्देश्य है। आज हम बाइबल के बचे रहने और इसका प्रसार होते चले जाने से सम्बन्धित कुछ अन्य बातों को देखेंगे।
संसार भर में, बाइबल के संकलित होकर एक पुस्तक बनने के आरंभ से ही, बाइबल के शत्रुओं ने उसे नष्ट करके समाप्त करने के अनगिनत प्रयास किए हैं, जो आज भी ज़ारी हैं। बाइबल के प्रसारण पर प्रतिबंध लगाए गए, उसकी प्रतियों को खोज-खोज कर एकत्रित किया गया और जला दिया गया। रोमी शासन से लेकर वर्तमान समय में कम्युनिस्ट तथा अन्य अनेकों देशों में उसे कानून द्वारा वर्जित कर दिया गया, उसकी प्रतियों को अपने साथ रखना दण्डनीय अपराध घोषित किया गया - और यह सब संसार के अनेकों देशों में आज भी देखा है, बाइबल को वर्जित घोषित किया गया है और उसे रखना या सिखाना घोर दंडनीय अपराध है। किन्तु बाइबल की प्रतियाँ फिर भी बची रहीं, और बढ़ती रहीं; लोगों ने जान पर खेलकर या जान तक देकर, बेघर होकर, बंदीगृहों में कठोर दंड सहने के लिए डाल दिए जाने के बावजूद बाइबल को बचा कर रखा, और उसे प्रकाशित तथा प्रसारित करते रहे। आज भी कर रहे हैं, और जिन देशों में यह प्रतिबंधित है, जहाँ पर मसीही विश्वासियों का घोर सरकारी दमन हो रहा है, उन पर अत्याचार हो रहे हैं, वहीं पर, गुप्त रीति से न केवल बाइबल वितरित हो रही है, वरन मसीही विश्वास के अनुयायी अभूतपूर्व रीति से बढ़ते चले जा रहे हैं।
यदि ऐतिहासिक आधार पर देखें, तो मसीहीयत तथा परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का 2000 वर्ष का इतिहास, इनके बहिष्कार, प्रताड़ना और सताव, तथा इन्हें झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धान्तों (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3-4, 13-15; गलातीयों 1:6-9) के द्वारा भ्रष्ट कर देने, और समाप्त कर देने के निरन्तर प्रयासों का इतिहास है। मसीही विश्वासियों पर अत्याचार और उन्हें नष्ट करने के प्रयास तो कलीसिया के स्थापित होने के साथ ही आरम्भ हो गए थे (प्रेरितों 8:1-3; प्रेरितों 9:1-2; 1 पतरस 1:1)। उस समय के रोमी शासन में भी मसीहीयों को शासन-विरोधियों के समान समझा और देखा जाता था। रोमी शासन द्वारा मसीहीयों का दमन, पहली से चौथी ईस्वी तक रह-रह कर होता रहा, क्योंकि मसीही लोग रोमी देवताओं की उपासना करने से इनकार करते थे। और रोमी शासन इसे उनकी सामाजिक व्यवस्था के लिये, तथा उन पर देवताओं की कृपा को बनाए रखने के लिये खतरा मानता था। आरंभिक काल में नीरो, डोमिशियन, डीसीयूस, और वेलेरियन जैसे रोमी सम्राटों ने मसीहियों को राजनैतिक खतरा होने, और पारम्परिक रोमी धार्मिक आस्था से असहमत होने के लिये उन्हें अपना निशाना बनाया। मसीहीयों पर सबसे तीव्र सताव सम्राट डायोकलिशियन (303–311 ईस्वी) के द्वारा आया, जिस में उसने कलीसियाओं को नष्ट करने, पवित्रशास्त्र की प्रतियों को जला देने, धार्मिक अगुवों को बन्दी बनाने, और मसीहीयों से जबरन रोमी देवताओं की उपासना करवाने की आज्ञा ज़ारी की। परन्तु ये सभी प्रयास असफल रहे, और इसके शीघ्र बाद 313 ईस्वी में, मिलान की घोषणा के द्वारा मसीहियात को वैध और आधिकारिक घोषित कर दिया गया।
एक आरम्भिक मसीही अगुवे टरटयूलियन (155–220 ईस्वी) ने, उस समय चल रहे मसीहीयों के दमन के सन्दर्भ में कहा था कि “मसीही शहीदों का लहू कलीसिया के लिये बीज है;” अर्थात जितना अधिक मसीही लहू बहाया जाएगा, कलीसिया उतनी ही अधिक बढ़ेगी, फैलेगी, सामर्थी और प्रभावी होगी। और संसार भर में मसीही विश्वास का इतिहास इस बात को प्रमाणित करता है कि मसीही विश्वास और उसके पवित्रशास्त्र को नष्ट करने के प्रायस करने वाले कुछ समय के प्रयासों के बाद स्वयं ही नष्ट हो गए। रोमी सत्ता के उस घोर सताव के कुछ ही समय के बाद रोमी साम्राज्य, उस के सम्राट, और उनकी उपासना, सब समाप्त हो गए, केवल इतिहास की पुस्तकों में दर्ज तथा टूट-फूटे पुराने, ढहते हुए खण्डहरों के रूप में ही रह गए। परन्तु उनके समय में भी, और उनके बाद भी, मसीही विश्वास और उस का पवित्रशास्त्र, सारे संसार भर में फैलता, और सामर्थी तथा प्रभावी होता चला गया; और आज भी फैलता चला जा रहा है, जीवनों को बदल रहा है। जहाँ पर मसीहियों का और परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का दमन हो रहा है, वहाँ आज भी यही परिणाम दोहराया जा रहा है।
अगले लेख में हम अपने इसी विषय को ज़ारी रखेंगे, तथा कुछ अन्य सम्बन्धित तथ्यों को देखेंगे। परन्तु इस बात पर विचार कीजिए कि परमेश्वर का यह अविनाशी वचन, परमेश्वर ने हम मनुष्यों को पाप के कारण हमारा विनाश होने से हमें बचाने के लिये दिया है। और हम ने देखा है कि परमेश्वर के वचन को नष्ट कर देने, या नकार देने की सामर्थ्य मनुष्य में नहीं है। परन्तु जो इसे स्वीकार कर के इस का पालन करते हैं, उनके लिये यह हर प्रकार की आशीष का अनन्त अंतहीन स्रोत है। संसार के सभी लोगों के पापों से छुटकारे के लिये परमेश्वर का यह समाधान बहुत ही सरल तथा सहज है - स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों को मान कर उनके लिए पश्चाताप कर लें, उनके लिये प्रभु यीशु से क्षमा माँगना, अपने व्यक्तिगत निर्णय से अपना जीवन प्रभु को समर्पित कर के, उसके शिष्य बन जाना, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चालने के लिये प्रतिबद्ध होना।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Unique in its Survival Part - 2
From the previous article we had begun to consider how God’s Word the Bible is unique in its survival. We had started with a brief summary of the earlier articles, about the unique history of the Bible being written, printed, circulated and translated. It has always been the most printed, distributed and in-demand book all over the world, its circulation running in billions; and only 0.445% of the current world population does not have either the Bible or its portions in their own language - facts that cannot be explained or understood by any human logic, argument, or understanding. We had also seen how the allegation that the books of the Bible have been tampered and “suitably” edited to make them appear harmonious and non-contradictory is baseless and false.
We then saw that the initial records of the books of the Bible were made on very fragile and easily perishable material papyrus, that is made out of plants - and yet, the oldest manuscripts on this fragile perishable material date back to 2400 BC. And then we saw how laboriously and meticulously the Jews copied their Scriptures to keep them free from error.
Because the Bible’s message has a very important, great, and divine purpose for all of humanity, therefore, the Bible is the only book in world history for which such unique, all-time, very intensive, and world-wide efforts to preserve and propagate it have been undertaken, not only in the past, but are on-going even now.
Today, we will see some more about how the Bible has continually survived the relentless attempts made to destroy and eliminate it, being carried on even to date; and it still remains the most in-demand book world-wide.
All over the world, from the very beginning of the Bible being compiled into a single book, enemies of the Bible have made countless attempts to destroy and eliminate it, and they are continuing even today. Circulating copies or contents of the Bible was officially banned, its copies were searched out, collected and burnt. Since the time of the Roman empire, keeping copies of the Bible was forbidden by law and was declared a punishable offense, as it is till date in communist and many other countries of the world.
But copies of the Bible still survived, and continued to grow; People kept the Bible alive, and continued to publish and circulate it, even at the cost of being put to death or being imprisoned, being made homeless, and being subjected to many harsh punishments. They are doing it even today, in the countries where the Bible is banned, where the Christian Believers are officially, by government edicts, being pursued and severely persecuted. In those very places, the Bible is being secretly distributed, and the underground Christian Church is growing in an unprecedented manner.
Considered historically, the 2000 years old history of Christianity and God’s Word the Bible, is a history of relentless attempts to eliminate them - by ostracism, persecution, and corruption by spreading false teachings and wrong doctrines (2 Corinthians 11:3-4, 13-15; Galatians 1:6-9). Attempts to persecute and destroy the Christian Believers began with the beginning of the first Church (Acts 8:1-3; Acts 9:1-2; 1 Peter 1:1). At that time the ruling Roman State also considered the Christian Believers as opponents of the State, and treated them as such. Roman persecution of Christians occurred in intermittent waves from the 1st to early 4th centuries, mainly because Christians refused to worship the Roman gods and emperor, which Romans saw as a threat to public order and divine favor. Early hostility peaked under Nero after the Great Fire of Rome in AD 64, when Christians were scapegoated and executed brutally. Later, emperors like Domitian, Decius, and Valerian targeted Christians for political loyalty tests or to reinforce traditional religion, with Decius launching the first empire-wide requirement for sacrifices. The most severe repression came under Diocletian (303–311), whose “Great Persecution” ordered the destruction of churches, burning of scriptures, imprisonment of clergy, and forced sacrifices. These efforts ultimately failed, and Christianity was legalized soon after in 313 under the Edict of Milan.
Tertullian (155–220 AD), a Christian Elder of the early Church, in context of the on-going persecution of the Christian Church had said “the blood of the Christian martyrs is the seed for the Church;” in other words, the more the Christian blood is shed, the more will the Church grow, spread, and become even more powerful and effective. And the world-wide history of the Christian Faith bears testimony to this statement and proves that those who tried to destroy and eliminate the Christian Faith and its Scriptures, after some time and some efforts, themselves came to an end and were destroyed. Some time after that severe persecution at the hands of the Roman empire, the Roman Empire, the Emperors, and their worship, all came to an end, are now found only as records in history books or ancient partially destroyed and dilapidated monuments. But not just during Roman hey-days, but even after them, the Christian Faith and its Scriptures, spread all over the world, continually becoming more and more powerful and effective. Even today, it is still spreading and changing lives. Wherever Christians and God’s Word the Bible are being persecuted, the same outcome is also being repeated.
In our next article, we will continue with this topic and see some other related facts. But do ponder over this fact, that God has given His indestructible Word to us humans, to save us from being destroyed by our sins. We have seen that humans do not have the ability or power to eliminate or disprove God’s Word. But those who accept and obey it, for them it is an endless eternal source of blessings of all kinds. For every person of the whole world, this God given provision for deliverance from their sins is very easy and simple - voluntarily accept our sins and repent of them, ask the Lord Jesus to forgive them, and through one’s own considered decision surrender one’s life to the Lord Jesus, become His disciple, and commit to living a life of obeying Him.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
