क्या बाइबल और विज्ञान परस्पर विरोधी हैं?
यह एक सामान्य, किन्तु सर्वथा गलत एवं अनुचित धारणा है कि बाइबल विज्ञान के साथ तालमेल नहीं रखती है, और विज्ञान बाइबल का समर्थन नहीं करता है। इस गलत धारणा के विपरीत, न तो बाइबल और विज्ञान में परस्पर कोई विरोधाभास है, और न ही बाइबल विज्ञान की बातों और उन्नति में बाधक है, जैसा कि हम आने वाले लेखों में देखेंगे। वास्तविकता तो यह है कि बाइबल के द्वारा मनुष्यों को लाभ पहुँचने वाले कई खोज और आविष्कार हुए हैं, तथा पश्चिमी देशों के प्रमुख वैज्ञानिक बहुधा बाइबल पर तथा बाइबल के परमेश्वर पर विश्वास रखने वाले लोग थे।
आज एक अनुचित और गलत धारणा पर बहुत जोर दिया जाता है कि क्योंकि विज्ञान ने इतनी प्रगति कर ली है कि सृष्टि की लगभग सभी बातों की रचना और कार्य-विधि को समझ लिया गया है, इसलिये अब सृष्टिकर्ता के रूप में परमेश्वर पर मान्यता रखने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं रही है। यदि थोड़ा सा भी गम्भीरता से विचार किया जाए, तो यह प्रकट तथ्य है कि विज्ञान केवल विभिन्न तरीकों से सृष्टि की रचना और उन रची हुई वस्तुओं की कार्य-विधियों का अध्ययन है। अब, इससे सामान्य ज्ञान की दो बातें सामने आती हैं; पहली किसी रची हुई वस्तु की रचना और उसकी कार्य-प्रणाली को जान और समझ लेना, क्या यह अभिप्राय देता है कि वह स्वयं ही बन गई, उसका कोई रचनाकार नहीं था? या, यह प्रमाणित करता है कि कोई है, या था जिसने इसकी अभिकल्पना की, इसका डिज़ाइन बनाया, इसकी कार्य-विधि निर्धारित की, और फिर उसकी रचना कर के उसे हमारे उपयोग के लिये उपलब्ध करवाया? और दूसरी बात, क्या किसी की बनाई हुई कोई भी वस्तु, अपने बनाने वाले के विरुद्ध प्रमाण दे सकती है; उसके अस्तित्व को ही नकार देने के प्रमाण प्रदान कर सकती है? या, फिर वह अपने सृष्टिकर्ता की और उसके ज्ञान और समझ की पुष्टि ही करेगी? इसी प्रकार से, परमेश्वर की सृष्टि और रचना, परमेश्वर के वचन के विरुद्ध कभी हो ही नहीं सकती है। सही भावना और दृष्टिकोण से देखने की आवश्यकता है, और परमेश्वर के वचन के तथ्य, उसकी सृष्टि में प्रमाण प्रत्यक्ष कर देंगे।
एक अन्य तथ्य पर भी विचार कीजिये। आज तक न तो परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में, न बाइबल में दिए गए परमेश्वर के चरित्र और गुणों में कभी कोई संशोधन या सुधार हुआ है। हज़ारों वर्षों से, हर भाषा और संस्कृति में बाइबल और उसकी बातें अटल, अपरिवर्तनीय, और समान रीति से लागू रही हैं। संसार के ज्ञान और दशा, समय, और परिस्थिति के साथ बाइबल में कभी कोई सुधार या नवीनीकरण नहीं किया गया है। इसीलिये परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन, बाइबल में, दोनों, पुराने और नए नियानों में लिखा है, “क्योंकि मैं यहोवा बदलता नहीं…” (मलाकी 3:6); “यीशु मसीह कल और आज और युगानुयुग एक सा है” (इब्रानियों 13:8)। परन्तु इसके विपरीत, विज्ञान की कोई बात ऐसी नहीं है जिसमें समय और नए आविष्कारों, नई समझ के साथ परिवर्तन नहीं होते हैं, संशोधन नहीं किए जाते हैं, पुरानी को हटाकर उनके स्थान पर नई बातों, नई धारणाओं को नहीं लाया जाता है। दूसरे शब्दों में विज्ञान सिद्ध नहीं है, परिवर्तनशील है; आज का सत्य कल गलत प्रमाणित हो जाएगा, आज की महत्वपूर्ण धारणा, कल महत्वहीन कल्पना बन जाएगी। परन्तु फिर भी, विज्ञान को सत्य और तथ्य कहकर अटल, अपरिवतनीय, सिद्ध परमेश्वर और उसके वचन को झूठ और महत्वहीन कहा जाता है। उपरोक्त बातों के आधार पर, क्या बाइबल और परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध यह मान्यता स्वीकार्य हो सकती है?
बाइबल में प्रयुक्त शब्दों और वाक्यांशों को, जिनके आधार पर वैज्ञानिक खोज की गई हैं, समकालीन साहित्य तथा गैर-मसीहियों के द्वारा, उनकी बातों और मान्यताओं को बताने के लिये, किंवदंतियों और कथा-कहानियों, आदि में भी किया गया है। इस कारण, बाइबल का विरोध करने वालों ने, तथा उनके पाठकों ने बाइबल के शब्दों और बातों को, अन्य पुस्तकों और ग्रन्थों के समान, इसे केवल आलंकारिक भाषा समझा; उन्हें विश्वास करने योग्य मानकर गंभीरता से नहीं लिया; इसलिए उनके आधार पर कोई कार्यवाही नहीं की। लेकिन कुछ लोगों ने, जो बाइबल और बाइबल के परमेश्वर पर विश्वास रखते थे और रखते हैं, उन शब्दों और बातों को गंभीरता से लिया, उन बातों पर विश्वास किया, और इस विचारधारा के साथ उनके विषय कार्यवाही की, कि यदि बाइबल यह कहती है, तो यह सच ही है, और इसकी आगे जाँच करके, इसके आधार पर कार्यवाही करना लाभप्रद होगा।
अगले लेख में हम ऐसे ही कुछ उदाहरणों को देखेंगे, और उनके द्वारा समझेंगे कि बाइबल को विज्ञान के विरुद्ध समझना क्यों एक गढ़ी हुई, गलत धारणा है। बाइबल सिद्ध सत्य है, और जैसा हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है, बाइबल संसार के अन्त और न्याय के बारे में बताती है, जब प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को अपने जीवन का हिसाब प्रभु यीशु को देना होगा और अपने किये के अनुसार प्रतिफल लेना होगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। इस न्याय एवं प्रतिफल के लिए तैयार होने का समय अभी इस पृथ्वी के जीवन में है। इस पृथ्वी पर परमेश्वर के पक्ष अथवा विरोध में लिये गए आप के निर्णय पृथ्वी के जीवन के बाद के आप के अनन्त जीवन में भी आप पर लागू रहेंगे; आप के उन निर्णयों के अनुसार ही आपका अनन्त भविष्य तय होगा।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Are Bible and Science Mutually Contradictory?
It is a common, but an absolutely false and unsubstantiated allegation that the Bible and science are not in conformity with each other, and that science does not support the Bible. Contrary to this false belief, the fact is that there is no contradiction between the Bible and science, nor is the Bible a hindrance to the advancement of science, as we will see in the coming articles. In fact, there have been many discoveries and inventions that have benefited mankind, and have come through what had been written in the Bible. The leading scientists of Western countries were often believers in the Bible and in the God of the Bible.
Today, there is an inappropriate and false notion that is commonly stressed upon, since now science has progressed so much that the construction, components, and working of nearly everything has been well known and understood; therefore there is no further need to believe in God as the Creator. But if even a little serious thought is given to this idea, then the fact becomes apparent that science is nothing other than studying the created things and their functioning, through various means. Now, from this, two things of common sense come before us; Firstly, does the knowing and understanding of the construction, components, and functioning of a thing imply that it came into existence by itself, and it was not made by anyone?Or, does it prove that there is/was someone who thought of, designed, decided on how it would work, then made it, and provided it to us for use? Secondly, is it at all possible that a thing will provide evidence against its creator or maker; and deny his existence? Or, will it affirm the existence of its creator, of his knowledge and abilities? Similarly, the creation and handiwork of God can never be a witness against God and His Word. It only needs to be viewed in the right spirit and considered with a correct point of view, and the facts stated in God's Word, will reveal the evidence for God present in His creation.
Consider another fact. Neither God, nor God’s Word the Bible, nor the characteristics and attributes of God given in the Bible have ever been modified, improved upon, or corrected. For thousands of years, in every language, at all times, in every civilization the Bible and its content have remained unchanged, constant, and always applicable in one and the same manner. The state of the knowledge of the world, the prevailing circumstances, and any other thing, have never necessitated any correction or updating in anything in the Bible. That is why God has had it written in His Word, in both the Old and the New Testaments that, “For I am the Lord, I do not change…” (Malachi 3:6); and, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). In contrast, there is nothing in science that has not changed with time and newer discoveries, newer understanding. In science, everything changes or is modified, and the old is replaced with the new, older concepts are discarded, newer ones are established in their place. In other words,science is not perfect, it is always changing; today’s fact will be tomorrow’s fiction; today’s very important concepts will become figments of imagination tomorrow. And yet, science is presented as the truth and factual, to allege that the unchanging, constant, perfect Word of God and God Himself are false, baseless, and unimportant. On the basis of what we have seen above, can this belief about the Bible and God be considered tenable and true?
Words and phrases used in the Bible, on the basis of which scientific discoveries have been made, have also been used in contemporary literature and by non-Christians too, to tell about their beliefs and folklore. Therefore, the opponents of the Bible and their readers considered the words and things stated in the Bible also to be only the use of figurative language. Hence, they did not take Biblical facts seriously, nor considered them as credible so, no one thought of taking any action on the basis of what was written in the Bible. But some people, who believed in the Bible and the God of the Bible, took those words and things seriously, believed in the things stated in God’s Word, and acted on them with the belief that if the Bible says it, then it is true, and therefore, it would be worthwhile and beneficial to take action on its basis.
From the next article we will see some Biblical examples, and through them understand why the concept that the Bible is contrary to the Bible is a contrived and false notion. The Bible is the perfect truth, and as we have seen in the previous articles, the Bible tells about the end of the world and time of judgement, when everyone will have to stand before the Lord Jesus to give an account of their lives, and receive the rewards and consequences of their life and deeds (2 Corinthians 5:10). To prepare for this judgement and receive the rewards, the time is now, while on earth. The decisions you take on earth, for or against God, will remain applicable to you in your eternal life that will come after this earthly life; those decisions will determine your eternal life.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
