भला होना – भाग 2 - क्या मनुष्य भला हो सकता है?
लोगों की यह आम धारणा है कि उनकी अपनी दृष्टि, सोच, और मानकों के अनुसार भला होने, भला रहने, और भले काम करने से हम स्वतः ही परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य और उसके राज्य प्रवेश करने के योग्य बन सकते हैं। साथ ही सभी की यह भी इच्छा होती है कि उनके साथ भला ही हो, भलाई ही की जाए; चाहे वे स्वयं औरों के साथ भले रहने या उनकी भलाई करने के इच्छुक और प्रयासी न भी हों। इसके अतिरिक्त लोगों की भला या बुरे की परिभाषा, आँकलन के माप-दंड, समझ आदि भी भिन्न होते हैं, और बहुधा आँकलन के ये मानक समय, परिस्थिति, और व्यक्ति के अनुसार बदलते भी रहते हैं। इसी संदर्भ में हमने पिछले लेख में देखा और समझा था कि “भला क्या है?” और इस बात पर आकर अंत किया था कि मसीही विश्वासी और मसीही विश्वास के जीवन के लिए परमेश्वर का वचन, बाइबल ही वह स्थिर और स्थापित माप-दंड है जिससे परमेश्वर के निर्देशों एवं आज्ञाओं के अनुसार भले और बुरे की पहचान की होती है। व्यक्ति के जीवन के फल, अर्थात उसका व्यवहार, उसकी जीवन शैली, आदि बातें दिखा देती हैं कि व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार भला है कि नहीं, क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु ने कहा है कि प्रत्येक पेड़ अपने फल से पहचाना जाता है।
आज हम देखेंगे कि परमेश्वर के वचन के आँकलन के अनुसार, परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में मनुष्य की स्थिति क्या है? परमेश्वर मनुष्य के अपनी स्वाभाविक दशा में भले होने, तथा अपने प्रयासों और कार्यों के द्वारा, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने के बारे में क्या कहता है। आइए, इस बात से संबंधित बाइबल के कुछ पदों को देखते हैं:
अय्यूब 14:4 अशुद्ध वस्तु से शुद्ध वस्तु को कौन निकाल सकता है? कोई नहीं।
अय्यूब 15:14 मनुष्य है क्या कि वह निष्कलंक हो? और जो स्त्री से उत्पन्न हुआ वह है क्या कि निर्दोष हो सके?
अय्यूब 25:4 फिर मनुष्य ईश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी क्योंकर ठहर सकता है? और जो स्त्री से उत्पन्न हुआ है वह क्योंकर निर्मल हो सकता है?
भजन संहिता 51:5 देख, मैं अधर्म के साथ उत्पन्न हुआ, और पाप के साथ अपनी माता के गर्भ में पड़ा।
उत्पत्ति 6:5 और यहोवा ने देखा, कि मनुष्यों की बुराई पृथ्वी पर बढ़ गई है, और उनके मन के विचार में जो कुछ उत्पन्न होता है सो निरन्तर बुरा ही होता है।
यशायाह 64:6 हम तो सब के सब अशुद्ध मनुष्य के से हैं, और हमारे धर्म के काम सब के सब मैले चिथड़ों के समान हैं। हम सब के सब पत्ते के समान मुर्झा जाते हैं, और हमारे अधर्म के कामों ने हमें वायु के समान उड़ा दिया है।
रोमियों 3:10 जैसा लिखा है, कि कोई धर्मी नहीं, एक भी नहीं।
रोमियों 8:8-9 और जो शारीरिक दशा में है, वे परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न नहीं कर सकते। परन्तु जब कि परमेश्वर का आत्मा तुम में बसता है, तो तुम शारीरिक दशा में नहीं, परन्तु आत्मिक दशा में हो। यदि किसी में मसीह का आत्मा नहीं तो वह उसका जन नहीं।
बाइबल में अय्यूब की पुस्तक से लिए गए उपरोक्त तीनों हवालों से स्पष्ट है कि अपनी स्वाभाविक, या शारीरिक दशा में कोई भी मनुष्य, शुद्ध, निष्कलंक और परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी होने की स्थिति में जन्म नहीं लेता है। भजन संहिता के पदों से लिए गए दाऊद के शब्द बताते हैं कि मनुष्य माता के गर्भ में ही पाप के साथ (पाप के द्वारा, या पाप के कारण नहीं), अर्थात पाप करने की प्रवृत्ति के साथ आता है, और अधर्म की स्थिति में जन्म लेता है; अर्थात जन्म से ही मनुष्य परमेश्वर के मानकों और माप-दंड के अनुसार उसे अस्वीकार्य स्थिति में होता है। जन्म से मनुष्य की यह पाप की प्रवृत्ति और उसमें विद्यमान अधर्म, जैसा उत्पत्ति से लिए गए हवाले में लिखा है, उसके मन से निरंतर बुरा ही उत्पन्न करवाती रहती है। यशायाह का वचन बताता है कि इस पाप की प्रवृत्ति के साथ संसार के किसी भी और कैसे भी मनुष्य के कोई भी, कैसे भी कार्य, परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में भले नहीं हैं, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं हैं।
क्योंकि जो स्वाभाविक या शारीरिक दशा में है, वह परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न नहीं कर सकता है, इसी कारण रोमियों के हवाले से हम सीखते हैं कि परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में कोई भी मनुष्य भला नहीं है, एक भी नहीं, और मनुष्य अपने किसी प्रयास से कभी परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न नहीं कर सकते हैं। हमारी इस अशुद्धता और परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य दशा का कारण है हम में बसा हुआ पाप, जो हमारे आदि माता-पिता, आदम और हव्वा से वंशागत रीति से हम में चला आ रहा है “इसलिये जैसा एक मनुष्य के द्वारा पाप जगत में आया, और पाप के द्वारा मृत्यु आई, और इस रीति से मृत्यु सब मनुष्यों में फैल गई, इसलिये कि सब ने पाप किया” (रोमियों 5:12), और हमें परमेश्वर से दूर रखता है “परन्तु तुम्हारे अधर्म के कामों ने तुम को तुम्हारे परमेश्वर से अलग कर दिया है, और तुम्हारे पापों के कारण उस का मुँह तुम से ऐसा छिपा है कि वह नहीं सुनता” (यशायाह 59:2)।
तो अब प्रश्न उठता है कि परमेश्वर के वचन के आधार पर “बाइबल के अनुसार भला कौन है?” ऐसे व्यक्ति के क्या गुण हैं? इसे हम अगले लेख में परमेश्वर के वचन में से देखेंगे। जब हम पापों से पश्चाताप करते हैं, प्रभु यीशु से उन पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित करते हैं, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलते रहने का निर्णय लेते हैं, तब, उद्धार या नया जन्म पाते ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा हम में आकर निवास करने लगता है, हम शारीरिक से आत्मिक दशा में आ जाते हैं, प्रभु के जन बन जाते हैं, परमेश्वर की संतान हो जाते हैं। क्योंकि तब हमारे पाप क्षमा हो जाते हैं, इस कारण हम परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो जाते हैं। किन्तु जब भी हम परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करते हैं, जो कि पाप है, तब हमें उसके लिए पश्चाताप करके, परमेश्वर से क्षमा माँगकर उसका समाधान करना होता है (1 यूहन्ना 1:7-10)।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से ही तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being Good – Part 2 - Can Man be Good?
People very commonly believe that by being good, behaving good, and doing good works, all according to their own thinking, understanding, and standards, automatically also makes us acceptable to God and qualifies us to be able to enter His kingdom. Everyone also nurtures a desire that only good should happen to them, only good should be done to them; whether or not they themselves are good towards others or make efforts to do good to them. Moreover, people's definitions of good or bad, criteria of assessment, understanding of being good etc. also differ; and often these standards of assessment also keep changing according to time, situation, and person. In this context we saw and understood in the previous article “What is good?” We had closed with saying that God's Word, the Bible, is the unchanging and established yardstick for the life of a Christian and for the Christian faith, by which to assess and differentiate good and evil, according to God's instructions and commandments. The fruits of a person's life, i.e., his behavior, his lifestyle, etc., show whether a person is good according to the Word or not, because the Lord Jesus said that every tree is identified by its fruit.
Today we will see the status of man in the eyes of God, as shown by the Word of God. What does God say about man being good and being acceptable to God through his own efforts and actions, while in his natural unregenerate state? Let's look at some Bible verses related to this:
Job 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!
Job 15:14 What is man, that he could be pure? And he who is born of a woman, that he could be righteous?
Job 25:4 How then can man be righteous before God? Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman?
Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.
Genesis 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
Romans 3:10 As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one;
Romans 8:8-9 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
It is clear from the above three quotes taken from the book of Job in the Bible that man in his natural, or unregenerate physical condition, is never born pure, spotless and righteous in the eyes of God. David's words in the verses from the Psalms states that man comes into the womb of the mother with sin (not through sin, or because of sin), i.e., from the time of conception has a tendency to sin, and is born in a state of unrighteousness; in other words, from birth, by the standards and assessment of God, man is in a state unacceptable to him. This inherent sinful tendency of man from birth, and the unrighteousness present in him, continually causes evil in his mind, as stated in the reference from Genesis. Isaiah's reference tells us that because of this sinful tendency, every person of the world, whosoever he may be and however good he may be, yet none of his actions are good enough in God's eyes, to qualify him as acceptable to God.
Since the person who is in the natural or unregenerate physical state cannot please God, therefore, we learn from the references from Romans, that no man is good in the eyes of God, not a single one, and that men can never please God by any of their efforts. The cause of our sinful and unacceptable condition to God is the inherited sin in us, which has been passed down to us from our fore-parents, Adam and Eve, “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned" (Romans 5:12), and keeps us away from God "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2).
Therefore, now the question arises that on the basis of the Word of God "Who is good according to the Bible?" What are such a person’s qualities? We'll look at this from God's Word in the next article. For now, when we repent of our sins, submit our lives to the Lord Jesus, asking His forgiveness of those sins, decide to walk in obedience to Him, then, God's Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us the moment we are thus saved or Born Again. From that moment onwards we are transformed from the unregenerate physical to the regenerated spiritual state, and we become the people of the Lord, we become the children of God. Since our sins have been forgiven, we become acceptable to God. But whenever we disobey God, which is sin, then we have to repent for it, ask God for forgiveness to rectify it (1 John 1:7-10).
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins, and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, then of your own will and sincerely, surrender your life to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
