मरकुस 3:14-15 में अपने शिष्यों के लिए प्रभु के तीन प्रयोजनों में से दो को हम देख चुके हैं, कि शिष्य प्रभु के साथ रहें, और जब तथा जहाँ भी प्रभु उन्हें भेजे, वहाँ जाकर वह प्रचार करें जो प्रभु उन्हें करने को कहे। प्रभावी और सफल सेवकाई के लिए ये तीनों प्रयोजन बहुत महत्वपूर्ण, वरन अनिवार्य हैं। इन तीनों प्रयोजनों में से पहला प्रयोजन प्रभु के साथ रहकर उससे सामर्थ्य प्राप्त करने के लिए है; दूसरा उसकी आज्ञाकारिता और उसके प्रति समर्पण में होकर, अपनी नहीं वरन उसकी इच्छा पूरी करने से संबंधित है। और आज हम तीसरे प्रयोजन, उस अधिकार के बारे में देखेंगे, जो प्रभु अपने साथ रहने वाले, और अपने आज्ञाकारी शिष्यों को देता है।

तीसरा प्रयोजन है “और दुष्टात्माओं के निकालने का अधिकार रखें” (मरकुस 3:15)। प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों को संसार में अपने प्रतिनिधि होने के लिए बुलाया और चुना था, और प्रभु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के पश्चात, उन्हें ही प्रभु के कार्य को आगे बढ़ाना था, सारे संसार में पहुँचाना था। जो संसार के सामने सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर के प्रतिनिधि होंगे, उन प्रतिनिधियों में उन्हें यह प्रतिनिधित्व देने वाले के समान कुछ गुण भी अवश्य होंगे। इसीलिए हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु ने अपने आज्ञाकारी और समर्पित शिष्यों को एक ऐसा अधिकार भी दिया, जो संसार का कोई व्यक्ति, कोई सामर्थ्य उन्हें नहीं दे सकती थी - वे बीमारों को चंगा करें और दुष्टात्माओं पर अधिकार रखें। जैसा हम मत्ती रचित सुसमाचार से देखते हैं कि इससे पहले भी, जब प्रभु पृथ्वी पर था और उन्हें सेवकाई के लिए भेजा था, तब प्रभु ने उन्हें न केवल दुष्टात्माओं को निकालने का अधिकार दिया, वरन बीमारियों और दुर्बलताओं को दूर करने का भी अधिकार दिया था “फिर उसने अपने बारह चेलों को पास बुलाकर, उन्हें अशुद्ध आत्माओं पर अधिकार दिया, कि उन्हें निकालें और सब प्रकार की बीमारियों और सब प्रकार की दुर्बलताओं को दूर करें” (मत्ती 10:1)। और जब प्रभु ने उन्हें प्रचार के लिए भेजा, तो उन्होंने यह सब किया भी “और उन्होंने जा कर प्रचार किया, कि मन फिराओ। और बहुतेरे दुष्टात्माओं को निकाला, और बहुत बीमारों पर तेल मलकर उन्हें चंगा किया” (मरकुस 6:12-13)। किन्तु मरकुस 9:14-29 (तथा मत्ती 17:14-20, और लूका 9:37-42) में एक और घटना भी है जब यही शिष्य एक लड़के में से एक दुष्टात्मा को नहीं निकाल सके। और प्रभु ने उनकी असफलता का कारण उनका अविश्वास और प्रार्थना की कमी को बताया। संभवतः शिष्यों में प्रभु की बजाए अपने आप पर, अपनी सामर्थ्य पर भरोसा आ गया था; वे प्रभु पर विश्वास के साथ नहीं, अपने ऊपर रखे गए विश्वास द्वारा यह करना चाह रहे थे, और जब असफल रहे तो उनमें प्रभु द्वारा दी गई इस सामर्थ्य के प्रति संदेह में भी आ गए होंगे।

प्रभु द्वारा शिष्यों के प्रयोजनों के लिए दिया गया क्रम और अभिप्राय आज भी उतने ही महत्वपूर्ण और कार्यकारी हैं। जो प्रार्थना और वचन के अध्ययन के द्वारा प्रभु के साथ बने रहते हैं; जो प्रभु के आज्ञाकारी रहते हैं, तब ही और वही कहते और करते हैं जब और जो प्रभु कहता है; और हर बात के लिए प्रभु पर निर्भर तथा उस पर विश्वास रखने वाले रहते हैं, वे फिर प्रभु के लिए अपनी सेवकाई के दौरान प्रभु से आश्चर्यकर्म भी करने की सामर्थ्य पाते हैं और उन कार्यों को सेवकाई की आवश्यकता के अनुसार प्रभु की महिमा के लिए करते भी हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के अंत में, अपने स्वर्गारोहण के समय, शिष्यों को संसार में सुसमाचार प्रचार के लिए जाने से पहले फिर से यह अधिकार दिए थे (मरकुस 16:17-18)। किन्तु ध्यान कीजिए, यहाँ पर प्रभु ने इस सामर्थ्य और इस अधिकार को सुसमाचार प्रचार के साथ जोड़ा है, उसके अतिरिक्त प्रदान नहीं किया है; और साथ ही प्राथमिकता फिर भी “विश्वास करने” ही की थी - जो विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ होगा, और इस सामर्थ्य तथा अधिकार का प्रयोग प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास के द्वारा उद्धार के सुसमाचार के प्रचार के लिए करेगा, उसी में ये बातें भी कार्यकारी होंगी।

आज बहुत से लोग प्रभु यीशु के नाम में चमत्कार और अद्भुत कामों के द्वारा लोगों को लुभाने में लगे हुए हैं, और प्रभु ने बता भी दिया था कि ऐसे लोग होंगे, किन्तु प्रभु उन्हें स्वीकार नहीं करेगा; क्योंकि उन्होंने परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में नहीं, अपनी ही इच्छा में होकर यह सब किया (मत्ती 7:21-23)। अंत के दिनों के लिए, जिनमें हम आज हैं, यह भविष्यवाणी है कि बहुत से लोग चिह्नों और चमत्कारों के द्वारा बहकाए जाएंगे (2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:9-12)। साथ ही 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15 में भी चेतावनी दी गई है कि शैतान के दूत प्रभु के लोगों का भेष धरकर और उनके समान बातें करने के द्वारा लोगों को बहका और भटका देते हैं। किन्तु मरकुस 3:14-15 हमें इस धोखे में पड़ने और बहकाए जाने से बचे रहने का तरीका बताता है। जो भी अपने आप को प्रभु का शिष्य, उसका अभिषिक्त कहे, उसके जीवन में उपरोक्त तीनों प्रयोजन उसी क्रम में विद्यमान होने चाहिएं जिसमें प्रभु ने शिष्यों के लिए निर्धारित करे हैं, कहे हैं। यदि ऐसा नहीं है, तो सचेत हो जाने और उस जन को वचन की कसौटी पर बारीकी से परखने, और खरा पाए जाने के बाद ही उसकी बातों पर विश्वास करने की आवश्यकता है।

प्रभु के सच्चे शिष्यों की प्राथमिकता प्रभु के साथ बने रहना और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में रहना है, न कि चिह्न और चमत्कार दिखाकर लोगों को प्रभावित तथा आकर्षित करने, और उनसे भौतिक लाभ कमाने की प्रवृत्ति रखना। प्रभु ने कभी भी अपने शिष्यों से यह नहीं कहा कि वे इन चिह्नों और चमत्कारों को करने की सामर्थ्य को भौतिक लाभ अर्जित करने का माध्यम बना लें; जो ऐसा करते हैं वे प्रभु की इच्छा का नहीं अपनी इच्छा का पालन करते हैं। इसीलिए प्रभु का निर्देश है “सब बातों को परखो: जो अच्छी है उसे पकड़े रहो” (1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 5:21)। यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो सचेत होकर, प्रभु के वचन के अनुसार अच्छे से जाँच-परखकर ही इन विलक्षण और अद्भुत लगने वाली बातों और उनके करने वालों पर भरोसा करें। धोखे में पड़ने से स्वयं भी बचें, तथा औरों को भी बचाकर रखें। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Christian Disciple – Authority for Miraculous Works

We have been seeing the three purposes that the Lord Jesus Christ had stated for His disciples in Mark 3:14-15, and have considered two of them, that the disciple should stay with the Lord, be willing to go when and where the Lord sends him, and preach that which the Lord asks him to say. For a successful and effective ministry of Christian Believers, the presence of these three in the disciple's life is not only something very important, but rather, is mandatory. We have seen the first two, i.e., the disciple should remain with the Lord at all times and should always be ready and prepared to go and preach whenever and wherever the Lord asks him to go. Of these three purposes, the first one, to be with the Lord, is to obtain His power; the second one, i.e., to be surrendered in obedience and commitment to Him, is about fulfilling not one’s own, but the Lord’s will. Today we will look into the third purpose, which is about the authority the Lord grants to those who always remain with Him and are ever obedient to Him.

    The third purpose is “and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons” (Mark 3:15). The Lord has called His disciples to be His representatives on earth; and after the time of Lord’s ministry on earth, they were to carry on with the Lord’s work and take it to the ends of the earth. Those who will be the representatives of the Almighty God before the people of the world, those representatives will also have some of the characteristics of the one who has chosen them and given them the authority. That is why we see that the Lord has given to His obedient and committed disciples an authority, which no person of the world can ever give to them - have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons. As we see from the gospel of Matthew, the Lord had given them this power earlier also, when He sent them out for preaching, while He was on earth with them, “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease” (Matthew 10:1), and they could exercise this power when they were sent out by the Lord for preaching, “So they went out and preached that people should repent. And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick, and healed them” (Mark 6:12-13). But we also see in Mark 9:14-29 (also given in Matthew 17:14-20 and Luke 9:37-42), an incident when these very disciples could not cast out a demon from a boy. The Lord said that the reason for their being unsuccessful was their lack of faith and prayers. Quite likely, they had started to depend not upon the Lord but upon themselves and the power they had been given; and when they attempted to cast out the demon believing in their own ability, they were unsuccessful; and then they might have started to doubt the authority of the Lord as well.

The sequence of these purposes given by the Lord is just as important today, as it was at that time. Those who constantly remain with the Lord through an attitude of prayer and in steadfastly studying God’s Word the Bible; those who remain obedient to the Lord, do only what the Lord instructs them to do, when He asks them to do; and remain dependent upon the Lord, always believing on Him for all things, they then during their ministry for the Lord, also receive the power and  do miraculous things as and when required for the ministry, and for the glory of the Lord. The Lord Jesus, at the end of His earthly ministry, at the time of His ascension, had given these powers and the authority for these things to His disciples before they went out into the world for their gospel preaching ministry (Mark 16:17-18). But note, these powers and this authority was associated by the Lord with the preaching of the gospel, not otherwise; and the primary thing was still having faith, these powers were for “those who believe” - those who are firm and established in faith in Him, and use this authority to spread the gospel of salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today many people are in the business of enticing people by wondrous and miraculous works in the name of the Lord Jesus; and the Lord had already clearly told that such people will come and will do these things, but the Lord will not accept them. Because they have done these things not in the will of God, not in obedience to the Lord, but in their own will (Matthew 7:21-23). It has been prophesied for the days of the end times, the days we are living in now, that many people will be led astray by signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12). We have also been warned in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 that Satan’s angels will masquerade as people of the Lord and beguile many through their preaching and works. But Mark 3:14-15 gives us the remedy to being led astray, the way of staying safe from being beguiled into utter destruction by such satanic forces. Whosoever calls himself a disciple of the Lord, these three purposes, in the same sequence as given by the Lord for His disciples, should also be seen in his life. If this is not true in the person’s life, then beware and thoroughly check that person’s life, preaching, and works through the Word of God, before believing in anything he says or does.

The priority of the true disciples of the Lord is to be with the Lord and stay obedient to Him, and not to try to impress and influence people by showing signs and wonders, and use them to earn worldly things. The Lord never taught His disciples to use the ability of doing signs and wonders as a means of gathering physical wealth; those who do this, are not fulfilling the Lord's will, but their own will. Therefore, it is the Lord's instruction “Test all things; hold fast what is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you are a Christian Believer, then be very wary, and believe in those who show signs and wonders only after very carefully examining and evaluating them. Stay safe from being caught in deceit, and safe-guard others also. Where there is the obedience and submission to the Lord, where His Word is honored and obeyed, His security and blessings are also there. 

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, have not truly and sincerely surrendered yourselves into His hands, then you have the opportunity to do so right now - this is the only way to be saved and have a heavenly life. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

    कल से हमने उद्धार से संबंधित तीसरे और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न कि “इसके लिए यह इतना आवश्यक क्यों हुआ कि स्वयं परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु को स्वर्ग छोड़कर सँसार में बलिदान होने के लिए आना पड़ा?” पर विचार आरंभ किया था। पाप और उसके प्रभावों, तथा सभी मनुष्यों के लिए उद्धार की अनिवार्यता के संदर्भ में हमने देखा था कि पाप के कारण उत्पन्न परिस्थिति से यदि परमेश्वर निष्पक्ष, खरे, न्यायी के समान व्यवहार करता, तो मनुष्य नाश हो जाते; और यदि वह उनके प्रति अपने प्रेम में होकर उनके पाप को अनदेखा कर देता, तो उसका निष्पक्ष, खरा, न्यायी होने की प्रतिष्ठा जाती रहती। इस विडंबना के समाधान के लिए परमेश्वर को कोई ऐसा मनुष्य चाहिए था जो पूर्णतः निष्पाप और निष्कलंक हो, इतना सामर्थी हो कि मृत्यु उसे वश में न रख सके, और इतना कृपालु हो कि मनुष्यों के पापों को स्वेच्छा से अपने ऊपर लेकर, उनके दण्ड को मनुष्यों के स्थान पर सह ले, और फिर प्रतिफल को मनुष्यों में सेंत-मेंत बाँट दे। केवल ऐसा मनुष्य ही पाप के दण्ड को सभी के लिए चुका सकता था, और मनुष्य को मृत्यु से स्वतंत्र कर के, उनका मेल-मिलाप परमेश्वर से करवा सकता था, अदन की वाटिका में खोई गई स्थिति को मनुष्यों के लिए वापस बहाल कर सकता था।

 

    साथ ही हमने देखा था यह मनुष्यों में से हो पाना संभव नहीं था, क्योंकि आदम और हव्वा के पाप के बाद से प्रत्येक मनुष्य पाप के स्वभाव के साथ ही अपनी माता के गर्भ में आता है और शिशु अवस्था से ही पाप की प्रवृत्ति को प्रकट करता रहता है। इसलिए मनुष्यों की प्रणाली के अनुसार माता के गर्भ में पड़ने और जन्म लेने वाला कोई भी मनुष्य पूर्णतः निष्पाप, पवित्र, और निष्कलंक नहीं ठहर सकता। अब समस्या थी कि पाप का निवारण करने वाले को मनुष्य भी होना था, और अपने अस्तित्व के बिल्कुल आरंभ से ही पाप से पूर्णतः विहीन भी होना था।

 

    परमेश्वर ने यह समाधान अदन की वाटिका में ही प्रदान कर दिया था। शैतान द्वारा सर्प के शरीर में होकर आदम और हव्वा को पाप में गिराने के कारण, परमेश्वर की ओर से पहला श्राप और दण्ड सर्प पर आया “तब यहोवा परमेश्वर ने सर्प से कहा, तू ने जो यह किया है इसलिये तू सब घरेलू पशुओं, और सब बनैले पशुओं से अधिक शापित है; तू पेट के बल चला करेगा, और जीवन भर मिट्टी चाटता रहेगा” (उत्पत्ति 3:14)। फिर अपनी इसी बात को आगे ज़ारी रखते हुए शैतान को संबोधित करते हुए, उसे उसका अंत बताया, “और मैं तेरे और इस स्त्री के बीच में, और तेरे वंश और इसके वंश के बीच में बैर उत्पन्न करूंगा, वह तेरे सिर को कुचल डालेगा, और तू उसकी एड़ी को डसेगा” (उत्पत्ति 3:15)। यहाँ पर परमेश्वर द्वारा कही गई बात में शैतान द्वारा उद्धारकर्ता को डसे जाने - मृत्यु चखने, और शैतान के सिर को कुचले जाने, अर्थात शैतान के अंत होने की बाइबल की पहली भविष्यवाणी दी गई है - शैतान जिस उद्धारकर्ता की एड़ी को डसेगा, अर्थात उसे मृत्यु चखाएगा, वही उद्धारकर्ता शैतान के सिर को कुचल डालेगा। हम इस बात को बाद में और विस्तार से देखेंगे। अभी ध्यान देने के लिए हमारे संदर्भ से संबंधित एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण वाक्यांश यहाँ पर भविष्यवाणी के रूप में दिया गया है - “इसके वंश”, अर्थात स्त्री का वंश!

    सामान्यतः, संसार भर के सभी लोगों में वंश पिता से माना जाता है, इसीलिए लोग पुत्रों की इतनी लालसा रखते हैं - ताकि उनका वंश चलता रहे। किन्तु यहाँ पर परमेश्वर ने स्त्री के वंश की बात की; अर्थात वह उद्धारकर्ता संसार की सामान्य रीति के अनुसार जन्म नहीं लेगा, उसके स्त्री के गर्भ में आने और जन्म लेने में किसी पुरुष का कोई कार्य नहीं होगा। साथ ही, क्योंकि उस जगत के उद्धारकर्ता को एक सामान्य मनुष्य के समान ही होना था, मनुष्यों के अनुभवों में से होकर निकलना था, और उन परिस्थितियों में भी अपने निष्पाप, पवित्र, निष्कलंक होने को बनाए रखना था, इसलिए उसका जन्म भी मनुष्यों के समान ही होना था। मानवीय जीवन का कोई ऐसा अनुभव नहीं बचना था, जिससे होकर वह न निकले और फिर भी पूर्णतः निर्दोष और पवित्र रहे।

 

    प्रभु यीशु मसीह ही संसार के इतिहास में एकमात्र हैं जो मनुष्यों की रीति से तो गर्भ में नहीं आए, किन्तु फिर भी किसी भी अन्य मनुष्य के समान गर्भ में रहने, जन्म की पीड़ा और अनिश्चितता सहने, असहाय और माँ पर पूर्णतः निर्भर शिशु होने, फिर बाल्यावस्था से लेकर वयस्क होने के सभी अनुभवों में से होकर निकले।

 

    प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अपनी माँ के गर्भ में आना परमेश्वर का किया आश्चर्यकर्म था; उन के संसार में आने के लिए परमेश्वर की ओर से एक देह तैयार की गई “इसी कारण वह जगत में आते समय कहता है, कि बलिदान और भेंट तू ने न चाही, पर मेरे लिये एक देह तैयार किया” (इब्रानियों 10:5), और फिर उस देह को मरियम के गर्भ में रखा गया, जहाँ वह किसी भी अन्य मनुष्य के भ्रूण के समान उन सभी परिस्थितियों से होते हुए विकसित हुई और फिर उन्होंने एक सामान्य मनुष्य के समान संसार में जन्म लिया “अब यीशु मसीह का जन्म इस प्रकार से हुआ, कि जब उस की माता मरियम की मंगनी यूसुफ के साथ हो गई, तो उन के इकट्ठे होने के पहिले से वह पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से गर्भवती पाई गई” (मत्ती 1:18)। उत्पत्ति 3:15 में कही गई परमेश्वर की बात और भविष्यवाणी, सारे जगत के उद्धारकर्ता का “स्त्री का वंश” होना पूरी हुई।

 

    परमेश्वर कभी झूठ या गलत नहीं बोलता है, उसका कहा कभी नहीं टलता है, वह असंभव लगने वाली स्थिति में से भी मार्ग बना देता है। जैसे उसने समस्त जगत के उद्धारकर्ता की भविष्यवाणी की, वैसे ही जगत के अंत और न्याय की भी भविष्यवाणी की है, और यह भी बात दिया कि जब ऐसा होना निकट होगा, उस समय संसार के क्या हाल होंगे, क्या परिस्थितियाँ होंगी (मत्ती 24 अध्याय) जिससे वह समय लोगों पर अनायास और अनपेक्षित न आ जाए, लोग सचेत हो जाएं, अपने आप को उसके पुनः आगमन, और न्याय के लिए उसके सामने खड़े होने के लिए तैयार कर लें। आज की संसार की परिस्थितियाँ और बातें स्पष्ट दिखा रहे हैं कि हम अंत और न्याय के समय के बहुत निकट हैं। क्या आपने अपने आप को परमेश्वर के सम्मुख खड़े होने के लिए तैयार कर लिया है? जैसा हम पीछे देख चुके हैं, केवल वे ही बचाए जाएंगे जिन्होंने नया जन्म, उद्धार पाया है; धर्म के निर्वाह, धार्मिकता के कामों, वचन का ज्ञान आदि पर भरोसा रखने वाले यहीं पीछे छूट जाएंगे।

 

    यदि आप ने अभी भी नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, अपने पापों के लिए प्रभु यीशु से क्षमा नहीं मांगी है, तो अभी आपके पास अवसर है। स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे और पूर्णतः समर्पित मन से, अपने पापों के प्रति सच्चे पश्चाताप के साथ एक छोटी प्रार्थना, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं मान लेता हूँ कि मैंने जाने-अनजाने में, मन-ध्यान-विचार और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किए हैं। मैं मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए गए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों के दण्ड को अपने ऊपर लेकर पूर्णतः सह लिया, उन पापों की पूरी-पूरी कीमत सदा काल के लिए चुका दी है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मेरे मन को अपनी ओर परिवर्तित करें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें, अपने साथ कर लें।” आपका सच्चे मन से लिया गया मन परिवर्तन का यह निर्णय आपको जगत के न्याय से बचाकर स्वर्ग की आशीषों का वारिस बना देगा। क्या आप आज, अभी यह निर्णय लेंगे?

The Solution For Sin - Salvation - 11

Divine Birth of Lord Jesus

    

    Since yesterday we have started to consider the third and the most important of the three questions related to salvation, “Why was it so necessary for this that Lord God Jesus Christ Himself had to leave heaven, and come down to earth to be sacrificed?” In context of sin and its deleterious effects, and the necessity of salvation for every person, we had seen that if God were to act as a just, impartial judge, then man would have been destroyed; and if He had overlooked their sin because of His love for them, then He would have contradicted His attribute of being honest, just, and impartial. For the solution to this dilemma, God needed a man who would be totally sinless and spotless, strong enough to overcome death, kind and benevolent enough to voluntarily take the sins of the whole of mankind upon himself and suffer their punishment, and then share out the benefits freely with everyone. Only such a person could pay the punishment of sins for everyone, free man from death, reconcile man with God, and restore back the status lost by man in the Garden of Eden through sin.

    We had also seen that this was not possible through any human being, since after the sin of Adam and Eve, every person is conceived with a sin nature and since his infancy starts manifesting this sin nature in his life. Therefore, any person conceived and born through the natural processes of mankind, will never be totally sinless, holy, and spotless. Now, the problem was that the one who was to provide the solution to sin, had to be a human being, yet also be totally sinless since the moment of his physically coming into existence.

    God had made the provision for this solution in the Garden of Eden itself. For allowing Satan to use it to beguile Adam and Eve into sin, the first punishment came upon the serpent, “So the Lord God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life” (Genesis 3:14). Then, continuing His statement, God addressed Satan and told him his end, “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel” (Genesis 3:15). Here, in the statement made by God to Satan we see the mention of Satan bruising the Savior – tasting death, and then He will bruise the head of Satan. We will see this in greater detail later on. For now, in context of our current consideration, there is a very important phrase given here as a prophecy, “her Seed”!

    Generally speaking, all over the world, amongst all people, the “seed” is considered to be of the father, and that is why people generally desire male children – so that their family line may continue. But here God mentioned the woman’s seed; implying that the Savior will not be born according to the general process of conception and birth in mankind, i.e., there will be no role of any man in the Savior’s being conceived and born of a woman. But since the Savior had to be just like any other ordinary man, therefore he had to go through the same experiences as any other person would undergo; and yet, even in all these circumstances and experiences had to remain sinless and spotless, and had to be born as any other human. He had to undergo every experience that any other man undergoes, and yet remain completely sinless and holy.

    The Lord Jesus Christ is the only person in the entire history of all of mankind who was not conceived in His mother’s womb in the natural manner of mankind. Yet, He remained in the womb like any other person, was born like any other person – suffering the same birth pains and uncertainties, as an infant remained totally dependent upon His mother for everything, and then as He grew to be an adult, underwent the same experiences as any other person of the world does.

    The Lord’s coming into the womb of His mother was a miracle of God; for Him to come and live in the world, a body was prepared by God, “Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me” (Hebrews 10:5), and then that body was placed in Mary’s womb, where He developed like any other human embryo, and was then born like any other human being is born. “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 1:18); and what God had said and prophesied in Genesis 3:15, that the Savior of the world would be “the seed of the woman” was thus fulfilled.

    God never lies, never speaks any wrong, and what He has said always stands true, never changes; He makes a way out even in seemingly impossible things and circumstances. Just as He had told and prophesied about the Savior of the world, similarly He has told and prophesied about the end of the world and the coming judgement of entire mankind. He has told us that when this end-time and the time for judgement approaches, what would be the conditions and circumstances in the world (Matthew 24), so that this time would not come upon the world suddenly and unexpectedly; that people may have time to be warned and prepare themselves for His second-coming and stand before Him for judgment. The circumstances and conditions prevailing in the world are clearly showing that we are very near the time of the end and of judgment. Have you prepared yourself to face the second coming of the Lord and your judgment? As we have seen in the previous articles, only those who are Born-Again, those who have received salvation from the Lord, will be saved whereas everyone who has been relying upon their religion, religious works and rituals, knowledge of the scriptures, good works etc. will all be left behind.

    If you have not received salvation from the Lord, have not been Born-Again, have not repented of your sins and asked forgiveness for them from the Lord Jesus, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart and with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible or not, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 4 - प्रार्थना (37) 

व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित बातों के इस अध्ययन में, हमने देखा है कि प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में से सात बातें दी गई हैं। पहली तीन बातें पतरस द्वारा भक्त यहूदियों को किए गए प्रचार के अन्त की ओर, प्रेरितों 2:38-41 में हैं, और मसीही विश्वास में आने से सम्बन्धित हैं। शेष चार, आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा लौलीन होकर पालन की जाने वाली बातें, जिन्हें “मसीही विश्वास के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है, प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं। इस समय हम इन चार में से चौथी बात, प्रार्थना करने, के बारे में सीखते आ रहे हैं। इस विषय के आरम्भिक लेखों में हमने देखा था कि प्रार्थना परमेश्वर से बातचीत करना है; अर्थात अपनी हर बात उससे कहना, और साथ ही उसकी बात को भी सुनना। हमें शैतान द्वारा बहकाए और भरमाए जाने से बचाने के लिए, परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में कहा है कि उसके लोग हर बात के लिए उसके साथ निरन्तर प्रार्थना, या वार्तालाप करते रहें। फिर हमने प्रार्थना से सम्बन्धित कुछ आम गलतफहमियों के बारे में विचार किया था; और वचन के हवालों से देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने किन के द्वारा की गई, और किन बातों के बारे में की गई प्रार्थनाओं का सकारात्मक उत्तर देने की प्रतिज्ञा की है। एक बहुत आम गलतफहमी के सम्बन्ध में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने ऐसी कोई प्रतिज्ञा नहीं की है कि कोई भी व्यक्ति, किसी भी बात के लिए यदि “विश्वास से” और “यीशु के नाम में” कुछ भी माँगेगा, तो परमेश्वर उसे पूरा कर देगा। इस सन्दर्भ में हमने “विश्वास से” माँगने, तथा “यीशु के नाम” में माँगने के बारे में वचन की बातों से समझा था। हमने यह भी देखा था कि ये गलतफहमियाँ वचन की गलत व्याख्या और समझ के कारण हैं, जो इन बातों से सम्बन्धित वचन के हवालों की, उनके सन्दर्भ का ध्यान रखे बिना, कर दी जाती हैं।

 

इसी प्रकार से मसीहियों में बहुत प्रचलित एक और गलतफहमी भी है, तथा-कथित “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” के बारे में। पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम इसी पर विचार करते आ रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि पूरे नए नियम में, इस “प्रार्थना” का केवल दो बार उल्लेख है, दोनों ही तब, जब प्रभु ने इसे अपने शिष्यों को सिखाया (मत्ती 6:9-13; लूका 11:1-4)। इन दो हवालों के अतिरिक्त, न तो प्रभु के शिष्यों ने, और न ही मसीही विश्वास में आने वाले आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों ने कभी इसे कहीं पर भी, किसी भी बात के लिए बोला या उपयोग किया। न ही कभी किसी भी पत्री में, प्रभु के लोगों से इस “प्रार्थना” को बोलने, उपयोग करने की कोई शिक्षा दी, और न कभी किसी से पूछा कि उन्होंने यह “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” का प्रयोग क्यों नहीं किया, अथवा क्यों किया। अपने विश्लेषण में हमने देखा है कि यह प्रभु यीशु द्वारा अपने शिष्यों को दी गई कोई “प्रार्थना” नहीं है; वरन यह एक रूपरेखा, एक ढाँचा है, जिसके अनुसार उन्हें अपनी व्यक्तिगत प्रार्थनाएं बनानी हैं, ताकि वे परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हों, और उनके सकारात्मक उत्तर मिलें। यह रट कर, हर अवसर पर, हर बात के लिए, बिना उसके बारे में जाने, या सोचे-समझे, औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए यूँ ही बोल देने वाली बात नहीं है। साथ ही हमने देखा है कि प्रभु द्वारा सिखाई गई इस रूपरेखा में परमेश्वर से माँगने के लिए तीन महत्वपूर्ण बातें दी गई हैं। ये तीन बातें हैं, परमेश्वर पर निर्भर रहना, क्षमाशील और धीरजवन्त बनना, और परमेश्वर द्वारा परीक्षाओं में डाले जाने से बचाए रखना तथा बुराई में न जाने देना। आज शायद ही कोई मसीही होगा जो सच्चे मन से, वास्तविकता में, अपने लिए परमेश्वर से इन तीनों बातों को माँगता होगा। किन्तु इसके विपरीत, लगभग सभी, परमेश्वर से मत्ती 6:19-34 में दी गई उन बातों को प्रार्थना में माँगते हैं, जिनके लिए परमेश्वर ने कहा है कि वह उन्हें उन लोगों को स्वतः ही प्रदान कर देगा जो उसे और उसके राज्य की खोज करने को अपने जीवनों में प्राथमिकता देते हैं। अर्थात, जो माँगना चाहिए, जिसे माँगने के लिए कहा है, वह नहीं माँगते हैं; और जिसे नहीं माँगना है, जो माँगने से नहीं आज्ञाकारिता के परिणामस्वरूप स्वतः ही मिलेगा, उसे माँगते रहते हैं, और फिर अपनी प्रार्थनाओं के निष्फल रहने के लिए निराश होते हैं।

 

प्रेरितों 15 अध्याय में व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित कुछ और बातें दी गई हैं, जिन पर हम विचार करेंगे। वहाँ जाने से पहले, एक स्पष्टीकरण शेष है, विश्वास से माँगी गई प्रार्थनाओं के सन्दर्भ में। इस बारे में सीखते हुए हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर के वचन की यह शिक्षा है कि उसके सच्चे, समर्पित, आज्ञाकारी शिष्यों की वे प्रार्थनाएं, जो परमेश्वर के वचन से सुसंगत, तथा उसकी इच्छा के अनुसार होती हैं, परमेश्वर ने केवल उन्हीं का सकारात्मक रीति से उत्तर देने की प्रतिज्ञा की है। किन्तु वचन में हम यह भी देखते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु ने अनेकों बार ऐसे लोगों को चंगा किया, ऐसे लोगों की प्रार्थनाओं का उत्तर दिया, जो उसके शिष्य नहीं थे, केवल अपनी आवश्यकता के लिए उसके पास आए थे, और प्रभु द्वारा आवश्यकता पूरी करने के बाद वे अपने स्थानों को लौट गए, और उनकी प्रभु के शिष्य होने का कोई उल्लेख वचन में नहीं है। और उन्हें चंगा करते समय या उनकी आवश्यकता को पूरा करते समय, प्रभु ने उनसे यही कहा कि उनके विश्वास ने उन्हें चंगा, या उनकी बात को सार्थक किया है। तो फिर क्या ये घटनाएं और उदाहरण प्रार्थनाओं का उत्तर दिए जाने से सम्बन्धित उपरोक्त बात को असत्य प्रमाणित नहीं करती हैं? तर्क और उदाहरण बिलकुल सही हैं, किन्तु एक बार फिर, हमें सन्दर्भ का ध्यान करना चाहिए - तात्कालिक और दूरस्थ, दोनों संदर्भों का, बात तभी स्पष्ट होगी।

ध्यान कीजिए, यह बात केवल प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने सुसमाचारों में कही है। पूरे नए नियम में किसी को भी चंगाई देते समय प्रभु के शिष्यों ने कभी यह नहीं कहा। जैसे हमने प्रेरितों 3 में, पतरस और यूहन्ना के द्वारा जन्म के लँगड़े के चंगे किए जाने के बारे में देखा था, शिष्य हमेशा उनके द्वारा होने वाले आश्चर्यकर्मों का, उन्हें करने की उनमें विद्यमान सामर्थ्य का श्रेय, हमेशा ही परमेश्वर को देते थे; अपनी इस योग्यता का स्त्रोत वे परमेश्वर को ही बताते थे। हमने यूहन्ना 2:24-25 से देखा है, तथा सुसमाचारों की अन्य घटनाओं से भी जानते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु हर एक के मन की बात को जानते थे, किस के मन में क्या है, और क्यों है, उनसे कुछ छिपा नहीं था। साथ ही प्रभु द्वारा इस तरह से जितने भी आश्चर्यकर्म हुए, वे व्यक्ति के प्रभु द्वारा कही गई बात का पालन करने के कारण हुए। व्यक्ति का प्रभु के पास अपनी आवश्यकता की पूर्ति के लिए आना, प्रभु के प्रति उसके समर्पण का सूचक है; व्यक्ति द्वारा प्रभु के कहे को करने के कारण मिली चंगाई, उसकी प्रभु के प्रति आज्ञाकारिता का सूचक है, और प्रभु का उसे चंगाई देना, उसके विश्वास की सराहना करना, उसे वह चंगाई देना प्रभु की इच्छा में होने का सूचक है। और यही शिष्यों के साथ भी था; जो भी शिष्यों के पास आया, वह विश्वास से आया, शिष्यों ने उसकी चंगाई या आश्चर्यकर्म होने को परमेश्वर के हाथों में सौंपा, और जो किया वह परमेश्वर ने किया, उस व्यक्ति के विश्वास और आज्ञाकारिता कि दशा को जानते हुए किया। अर्थात, व्यक्ति का विश्वास और परमेश्वर की इच्छा दोनों कार्यकारी थे; किसी को भी अपने विश्वास को प्रमाणित करने या उसका दावा करने की आवश्यकता नहीं थी, परमेश्वर स्वतः ही उनके मन की, उनके विश्वास की दशा को जानता था। साथ ही हम यह भी देखते हैं कि न तो प्रभु द्वारा और न ही शिष्यों द्वारा कभी कोई ऐसा आश्चर्यकर्म किया गया या किसी ऐसी प्रार्थना का उत्तर दिया गया जो अनुचित या ओछी हो, अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन और शिक्षाओं से असंगत हो। इसलिए, जब सन्दर्भ से सम्बन्धित बातों के साथ देखते हैं, तो कहीं को विरोधाभास नहीं मिलता है, बल्कि वचन की सच्चाई और खराई ही प्रमाणित होती है।

अगले लेख से हम प्रेरितों 15 में दी गई व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन की बातों पर विचार करना आरम्भ करेंगे।

  

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु  के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Things Related to Christian Living – 95

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (37)

In this study on things related to practical Christian living, we have seen that there are seven things given in Acts chapter 2. The first three are given towards the end of Peter’s sermon to the devout Jews, in Acts 2:38-41, and are related to coming into Christian Faith. The remaining four, the things that the initial Christian Believers observed steadfastly, which are also known as the “Pillars of Christian Faith,” are given in Acts 2:42. Presently, we have been learning about the fourth of these four, i.e., praying. In the initial articles on this topic, we had seen that to pray is to converse with God; i.e., to share with Him about ourselves, and to listen to what He has to say to us. To keep us safe from being misled and deceived by Satan, God has had it written in His Word that His people should continually be praying to Him, i.e., be conversing with Him about everything. Then we had considered about some common misunderstandings related to prayer; and through the references in God's Word, we had seen whose prayers, and prayers about what, God has promised to answer affirmatively. We had considered about a very common misunderstanding about answers to prayers. We saw tthat God has not made any such promise that if anyone prays to Him and asks for anything “in faith” and “in the name of Jesus” then He will fulfill it. In this context we had seen from the Word what it means to ask “in faith” and “in the name of Jesus.” We had also seen that these misunderstandings are because of misinterpreting and misunderstanding the Word, done without keeping the context in mind.

There is another very popular and prevalent misunderstanding amongst Christians, about the so-called “Lord’s Prayer.” For the past few articles, we have been considering about it. We have seen that in the whole of the New Testament, the “prayer” has been mentioned only twice, and both times, it was when the Lord was teaching the disciples about prayer (Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:1-4). Except for these two references, there is no mention of either the Lord’s disciples, or the initial Christian Believers ever using it or speaking it. Nor did the people of the Lord, in their letters ever teach the initial Believers this prayer, or to use it, to speak it; neither did anyone ask someone why they did not use or speak this prayer, nor, why did they use or speak it. In our analysis we have seen that this is not a “prayer” that has been given by the Lord to His disciples; rather, it is an outline, a framework, on which they have to build their individual prayers, for them to be acceptable to God and be answered in the affirmative. It is not something meant to be memorized, and then spoken by rote to fulfill a formality on every occasion, for everything, without knowing anything about it or understanding it. We have also seen that in this outline, there are three important things that the Lord has said should be asked from God. These three things are, to be dependent upon God, to be forgiving and patient, to ask that God not lead them into temptation and keep them from evil. Today, hardly any Christian Believer asks God these three things for themselves. But on the contrary, practically everyone asks God for the things given in Matthew 6:19-34; things about which God has said that He will automatically give to those who make seeking Him and His Kingdom the priority in their lives. In other words, that which has been instructed to be asked, is never asked; and that which is not to be asked, for it is meant to be given by God not as an answer to prayer, but automatically as an answer to obedience, is asked for in prayer. And then people become discouraged because of not receiving answers to their prayers.

In Acts chapter 15, there are some other things given that are related to practical Christian living and we will consider them also. But before going there, there is one clarification that remains to be given, regarding the prayers made “in faith.” While learning about this we had seen that God’s Word teaches us that He will answer in affirmative those prayers that are made to Him by His true, surrendered, obedient disciples, and which are in His will and consistent with His Word. But we also see in the Word that the Lord Jesus on many occasions has healed many people, and has answered the prayers of many people who were not His disciples. They had come to Him for their needs, and once the Lord fulfilled their needs, they returned to their places, and there is no mention of them ever having become the disciples of the Lord in the Word. And while healing them or fulfilling their requests, the Lord said to them that their faith had healed them or fulfilled their desire. So, don’t these incidents disprove the above-mentioned statement about God’s answering prayers in the affirmative? The logic and argument, and the examples are very correct, but once again, we should interpret the matter in context - immediate as well the remote, both contexts, only then will we be able to correctly understand the matter.

Take note, it is only the Lord Jesus who has said this thing in the Gospels. In the whole of the New Testament, while healing anyone, none of the Lord’s disciples have ever said this. As we have seen from the incidence of the healing of the man lame since birth by Peter and John, in Acts chapter 3, the disciples always ascribed the power in them and the miracles done through them to God, they always said that the source of their power was God. We have seen from John 2:24-25, and other places in the gospels that the Lord Jesus knew everything about everyone, whatever was in anyone’s heart, and there was nothing that was ever hidden from Him. Moreover, the miracles that happened through the Lord, happened because the concerned person obeyed what the Lord told him to do. The person’s coming to the Lord for his need, shows his surrender to the Lord, the person doing what the Lord said and receiving the healing shows his obedience to the Lord, and the Lord healing him, appreciating, and commending his faith shows that the miracle was done in the will of the Lord. And the same was applicable to the disciples as well; whoever came to the disciples, came in faith, the disciples placed his healing or required miracle into the hands of God, and whatever God did, He did it knowing the state of that person’s faith and obedience. In other words, the person’s faith as well God’s willingness, both were simultaneously at work; and no one had to make any claims about their faith, or prove their faith in any manner; God automatically knew about what was in their hearts and the state of their faith. We also see that in the healings and miracles done by the Lord and by the disciples, there was nothing that was done in answer to any inappropriate or frivolous prayer, i.e., a prayer that was inconsistent with the teachings of God’s Word. Therefore, when the matters are considered in their context, along with the related things, then we do not see any contradiction; rather the truth and integrity of God’s Word is proven and affirmed.

Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 4 - प्रार्थना (19) 

व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन के लिए आवश्यक, परमेश्वर के वचन, बाइबल में दी गई शिक्षाओं में से प्रेरितों 2:38-40 में दी गई तीन बातों को हम पहले देख चुके हैं। और अब हम प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई चार बातों का अध्ययन कर रहे हैं, जिनमें आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन रहा करते थे। इन चार में से हम तीन बातों को देख चुके हैं, और अब चौथी बात, प्रार्थना करना, के बारे में देख रहे हैं। मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा इन बातों में लौलीन रहने के स्थान पर, इन्हें पारम्परिक और औपचारिक निर्वाह की बातें बना देने के कारण, शैतान को मसीही समाज में बहुत सारी गलत धारणाओं और गलत शिक्षाओं को घुसाने का अवसर मिल गया है, और उसने इस अवसर का भरपूरी से प्रयोग किया है। हमारे वर्तमान अध्ययन में हम प्रार्थना से सम्बन्धित गलत धारणाओं और गलत शिक्षाओं के बारे में देख रहे हैं। इस विषय पर, मसीहियों में व्याप्त एक बहुत आम गलत धारणा और शिक्षा है कि परमेश्वर की यह प्रतिज्ञा है कि वह “विश्वास से” और “यीशु के नाम में” माँगी गई सभी प्रार्थनाओं का सकारात्मक उत्तर देगा। पिछले कुछ लेखों में हमने बाइबल के हवालों से देखा है कि परमेश्वर ने यह प्रतिज्ञा हर किसी से नहीं कि है, बल्कि केवल अपने सच्चे, समर्पित, आज्ञाकारी शिष्यों की उन प्रार्थनाओं के लिए की है जो वे परमेश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार और परमेश्वर के वचन से सुसंगत बातों के बारे में माँगते हैं। इसकी पुष्टि के लिए हमने देखा था कि प्रभु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के दौरान, प्रभु के शिष्य भी प्रभु की अनुमति और सामर्थ्य के बिना, अपनी ही इच्छा से, उन अद्भुत कार्यों को नहीं कर सके, जिन्हें वे पहले, प्रभु के निर्देशानुसार कर चुके कर थे। इसी सन्दर्भ में हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि प्रभु ने स्वर्ग पर उठाए जाने से पहले शिष्यों को वैसी ही सेवकाई सौंपी थी, जैसी उन्होंने प्रभु के साथ रहते हुए की थी। किन्तु अब, उसी सेवकाई को करने के लिए, क्यों प्रभु के शिष्यों को पवित्र आत्मा और उसकी सामर्थ्य प्राप्त करने के बाद ही जाना था, हमने इस बात को भी समझा था। प्रभु के वे सच्चे, समर्पित, आज्ञाकारी शिष्य भी “विश्वास से” और “यीशु के नाम में” प्रार्थनाएं माँगकर उस सेवकाई को नहीं कर सकते थे। इन दोनों वाक्यांशों के बाइबल में दिए गए तरीके से उपयोग करने को हम आज के लेख में भी ज़ारी रखेंगे।

 

प्रेरितों 3:1-16 में पतरस और यूहन्ना के द्वारा मन्दिर के बाहर बैठ कर भीख माँगने वाले जन्म के लँगड़े को चंगा करने का वृतान्त है। इस खण्ड का पद 2 बताता है कि उस लँगड़े को प्रतिदिन वहीं पर भीख माँगने के लिए बैठाया जाता था। हमने पहले लूका 24:53 से देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने की प्रतीक्षा करते समय, प्रभु के शिष्य लगातार मन्दिर में प्रार्थना के लिए जाया करते थे। यहाँ पर भी पद 1 और 3 में यही लिखा है कि तीसरे पहर पतरस और यूहन्ना प्रार्थना के लिए मन्दिर में जा रहे थे, जब उस लँगड़े भिखारी ने उनसे भीख माँगी। बहुत सम्भव है कि पतरस और यूहन्ना ने तथा उस भिखारी ने पहले भी एक दूसरे को देखा था। लेकिन अब भिन्न यह था कि पतरस और यूहन्ना पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त कर चुके थे। अब उन में एक नई सामर्थ्य, एक नया भरोसा, परमेश्वर का मार्गदर्शन था। और इसी मार्गदर्शन और विश्वास के अन्तर्गत पतरस ने, जैसा पद 4 में लिखा है, उस भिखारी को अपनी ओर देखने को कहा, और जैसा पद 6 में लिखा है “यीशु के नाम में” चलने फिरने के लिए कहा। पद 7, 8 बताते हैं कि तुरन्त उसके पाँवों और टखनों में बल आ गया, और वह उछल कर खड़ा हो गया, और परमेश्वर की स्तुति करता हुआ उनके साथ मन्दिर में गया। जब लोगों ने यह देखकर अचम्भा किया, तब पद 12-16 में पतरस ने “विश्वास से” माँगी गई प्रार्थना के उत्तर में उसे प्रभु से चंगाई मिलने के बारे में समझाया।

 

हम इस खण्ड में दी गई घटनाओं, वार्तालापों, और सम्बन्धित शिक्षाओं की व्याख्या में नहीं जाएंगे। हमारे वर्तमान विषय की पुष्टि के सन्दर्भ में हम यहाँ पर देखते हैं कि यद्यपि, सम्भवतः, यह पतरस, यूहन्ना, और उस भिखारी की पहली भेंट नहीं थी। किन्तु पतरस और यूहन्ना उसके लिए तब तक कुछ नहीं कर सके, जब तक कि उन्होंने पवित्र आत्मा, उसकी सामर्थ्य, और उसके मार्गदर्शन को नहीं प्राप्त कर लिया। फिर उसके बाद ही, उसी से उन्हें परमेश्वर की इच्छा में, “विश्वास से” और “यीशु के नाम में” आश्चर्यकर्म करने की अगुवाई मिली, और उस अगुवाई की आज्ञाकारिता में उन्होंने उस जन्म के लँगड़े को चंगा कर दिया। यहाँ पर एक अन्य बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात भी ध्यान देने के लिए है। जैसा पद 12 से 16 में पतरस द्वारा कही गई बात से प्रकट है, उन्होंने उसे केवल चंगाई ही नहीं दी, बल्कि उसके चंगे होने को वहाँ उपस्थित सभी लोगों में सुसमाचार प्रचार करने, प्रभु यीशु की मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान का प्रचार करने के लिए भी उपयोग किया। पतरस और यूहन्ना ने अपनी कोई बड़ाई न की, और न होने दी; उन्होंने इससे पहले अपने द्वारा किए गए किसी प्रचार का, किसी कार्य का, कोई उल्लेख नहीं किया, बल्कि तुरन्त ही सारा नाम, आदर, और महिमा प्रभु परमेश्वर को दे दिया।

 

अद्भुत आश्चर्यकर्म शैतान और उसके लोग भी करते हैं (मत्ती 24:24; मरकुस 13:22; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:9-10; प्रकाशितवाक्य 13:13-14); वे झूठे प्रेरित और प्रचारक बनकर “यीशु के नाम में” भी बहुत से कार्य करते हैं (मत्ती 7:21-23; 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13-15)। लेकिन उन लोगों के इन कामों के साथ सुसमाचार का, प्रभु यीशु के सभी मनुष्यों के उद्धार के लिए मारे जाने, गाड़े जाने, तीसरे दिन जी उठने और प्रभु यीशु के नाम में पापों की क्षमा का प्रचार नहीं किया जाता है। शैतान के लोगों की इन “चंगाई और अद्भुत कामों की सभाओं” में प्रचारक का नाम और उसका बयान, उसके द्वारा किए गए प्रचार और कार्यों के बखान, उसकी सामर्थ्य की चर्चा, उसके द्वारा ‘पवित्र आत्मा’ के उपयोग किए जाने (मानो ‘पवित्र आत्मा’ उसके अधीन उसी का सेवक है) का प्रचार, आदि तो बहुत होता है। लेकिन पापों और उनके परिणाम अनन्त नरक की चर्चा, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के जीवन, मृत्यु, पुनरुत्थान की चर्चा, सुसमाचार का प्रचार, पापों से क्षमा, उद्धार की अनिवार्यता की बातें या तो होती ही नहीं हैं, या फिर बहुत कम और बड़ी ऊपरी रीति से बहुत हल्के में की जाती हैं। उनका मुख्य विषय और प्रमुख स्थान प्रचारक का नाम और बयान, और उसकी ‘पवित्र आत्मा’ को प्रयोग करने की सामर्थ्य, शारीरिक चंगाई देना, भौतिक आश्चर्यकर्म करना ही होता है। इन बातों के द्वारा, लोगों को उद्धार के सुसमाचार और पापों की क्षमा से बहका और भटका कर, शैतान के ये लोग “विश्वास से” और “यीशु के नाम में” प्रार्थना माँगने के भ्रम में लोगों को फंसाकर, अपने साथ अनन्त विनाश में ले जाते हैं।

लेकिन इनकी तुलना में, प्रभु के सच्चे शिष्यों द्वारा माँगी गई प्रार्थनाएं और किए गए कार्य हमेशा ही प्रभु यीशु, सुसमाचार के प्रचार, उद्धार, पापों के परिणाम और पापों की क्षमा, आदि पर ज़ोर देते हैं; और प्रचारक को नहीं, प्रभु परमेश्वर को ऊंचे पर उठाते हैं। अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय पर वचन से और बातों को देखेंगे।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (19)

Of the necessary teachings given in God’s Word the Bible regarding practical Christian living, earlier we have seen three from Acts 2:38-40. Now, we are studying about the four things given in Acts 2:42, which the initial Christian Believers observed steadfastly. We have already seen three of the four things given here, and are now considering the fourth one, praying. Nowadays, instead of the Christian Believers observing them steadfastly, since they are observing them as a ritual, as a formality, therefore, Satan has been given an open door to bring in and spread many false teachings and concepts amongst the Christians, and he has fully made use of this opportunity. In our present study, we are looking into the wrong teachings and false concepts related to prayer. On this topic, a very prevalent and popular, but wrong teaching and false concept is that it is God’s promise that He will answer in the affirmative, all the prayers made to Him “in faith” and “in the name of Jesus.” In the preceding few articles, we have seen that God has not given this promise to everyone, but only to His true, surrendered, obedient disciples, for their prayers made according to God’s will and consistent with God’s Word. For affirmation, we had seen that during the earthly ministry of the Lord, even the true disciples of the Lord, without His permission and power, could not do those things on their own, which they had done earlier under the instructions of the Lord. In this context, we had seen in the previous article that just before His ascension to heaven the Lord had given the same ministry to the disciples as they had done while they were with Him. We had understood why, to do the same ministry, now, the disciples had to wait till they received the Holy Spirit, and only then go out for the ministry. Even those true, surrendered, obedient disciples of the Lord could not carry out that same ministry by using the phrases asking “in faith” and “in the name of Jesus.” Today too, we will continue to see and learn how these phrases have been used in the Bible.

In Acts 3:1-16 we have an account of Peter and John healing a man lame from birth and sitting outside the Temple, begging for alms. In this section, verse 2 tells us that this lame man was brought to this same place daily for begging alms. Earlier, we had seen from Luke 24:53 that while waiting for the Holy Spirit, the disciples of the Lord used to go to the Temple for prayers continually. Here too, the same thing is written in verses 1 and 3, that Peter and John were going into the Temple for prayers, when the lame man asked them for alms. It is quite possible that Peter, John, and the beggar had seen each other earlier also. But now what was different was that Peter and John had received the Holy Spirit. Now they had a new power, a new confidence, the guidance of God with them. And under this same guidance and confidence, as is written in verse 4, Peter asked the beggar to look at him, and as written in verse 6, commanded him to rise up and walk “in the name of Jesus.” Verse 7, 8 tell us that immediately he received strength in his feet and ankles, and he jumped and stood up, and went with them into the Temple, praising God. When the people saw this, they were amazed, then, in verses 12-16, Peter explained to them about the healing he had received from the Lord through the prayer asked “in faith.”

We will not go into the exposition of the events, conversations, and the related teachings given in this section. In context of the affirmation of our topic, we see that although, possibly, this was not the first time that Peter, John, and the beggar had met each other. But Peter and John had not been able to do anything for him till they had received the Holy Spirit, His power and guidance. Only after that, through Him, in the will of God, they were prompted to do this miracle by asking “in faith” and “in the name of Jesus” and in obedience to that prompting they healed that lame from birth beggar. There is another very important thing to take note of over here. As is evident from what Peter said in verses 12 to 16, they did not only give him healing, but they also used that healing to preach the gospel, the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, to all the people who had gathered there. Peter and John neither praised themselves, nor allowed anyone else to do it; they never mentioned any earlier preaching they had done, nor did they mention anything they might have done before this. Rather, they immediately gave all the name, fame, and glory to God.

Even Satan and his agents do wondrous works and miracles (Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10; Revelation 13:13-14); they, as false apostles, do many things “in the name of Jesus” (Matthew 7:21-23; 2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15). But along with the wondrous works that they do, the gospel, the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection for the salvation of all mankind, the forgiveness of sins in the name of Jesus is never preached. In these “Healing and Miracles” meetings and conventions by the people of Satan, the preacher’s name and description, the exaltation of his preaching and works, of his power, his ability to use ‘the holy spirit’ (as if the holy spirit is under his control to serve him), etc. are prominently displayed and announced. But the mention of sins and hell as their eternal consequence, the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, the preaching of the gospel, of forgiveness of sins, the necessity of salvation are either never mentioned or are only mentioned very superficially, casually and insignificantly. The main purpose of these people is giving prominence to the preacher’s name and fame and his use of ‘the holy spirit,’ physical healings, and temporal miracles. Through these, they mislead the people away from the gospel of salvation and forgiveness of sins. These satanic people entice people into the deception of praying “in faith” and “in the name of Jesus” and take them away with them into eternal destruction.

In contrast, the prayers made by the true disciples of the Lord and their works, always exalt the Lord Jesus, preach about the gospel, salvation, consequences of sin and forgiveness of sins. They give prominence to the Lord God, and not the preacher. In the next article we will see more from the Word about this.
