वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, उनके उद्धार पाने पल में ही, अर्थात् जब वे पापों से पश्चाताप करते हैं, प्रभु यीशु को उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करते हैं, और अपना जीवन उसे समर्पित कर देते हैं, परमेश्वर के द्वारा दे दिया जाता है। उसी पल से प्रत्येक उद्धार पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी न केवल पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर बन जाता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), वरन् उसे प्राप्त हुए पवित्र आत्मा का स्वतः ही, भण्डारी भी हो जाता है। वर्तमान में हम मसीही विश्वासी के पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी होने के बारे में अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। अभी हम प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा यूहन्ना 14:17 में, पवित्र आत्मा को ‘सत्य का आत्मा’ कहे जाने और इस बात के तात्पर्यों को देख रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि सत्य का आत्मा होने के नाते, वह कभी किसी भी ऐसी बात के साथ जो किसी भी रीति से, गलत या झूठ है, चाहे ऐसा तात्पर्य में ही हो, कभी सम्मिलित नहीं होगा। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा और समझा था कि बाइबल के अनुसार उस ‘सत्य’ का क्या अर्थ है जिसके साथ पवित्र आत्मा सम्मिलित होगा, और जिसके आगे वह कभी नहीं जाएगा – वह है परमेश्वर का वचन। हमने पिछले लेख में 2 पतरस 1:3 से यह भी देखा था कि जीवन और भक्ति से सम्बन्धित प्रत्येक बात जो मसीही विश्वासी के लिए आवश्यक है, उसे पहले ही परमेश्वर के वचन में प्रभु यीशु की पहचान के द्वारा दे दी गई है। जो परमेश्वर के वचन में दे दिया गया है, मसीही विश्वासी को उस से अधिक न तो किसी बात की आवश्यकता है, और न ही उसे परमेश्वर की ओर से दिया जाएगा।

 

इसलिए विश्वासी के जीवन और भक्ति से संबंधित ऐसी कोई भी बात जो पहले से ही वचन में लिखी हुई नहीं है, वह सत्य नहीं है, परमेश्वर से नहीं है। इसी प्रकार से, ऐसे कोई भी तात्पर्य, ऐसी कोई भी व्याख्या जो बाइबल की बातों और अभिव्यक्तियों पर बनाई गई है, किन्तु बाइबल में उस तात्पर्य या व्याख्या को कहीं पर व्यावहारिक उपयोग नहीं किया गया है, उसे उदाहरण नहीं बनाया गया है, और न ही उसे कहीं कार्यान्वित किया गया है, वह तात्पर्य और व्याख्या भी उतनी ही झूठी है। परमेश्वर समस्त समय, स्थानों, संस्कृतियों, और सभ्यताओं में शाश्वत, अपरिवर्तनीय (मलाकी 3:6; इब्रानियों 13:8), और अटल है। उसी प्रकार से परमेश्वर का वचन और निर्देश भी समस्त समय, स्थानों, संस्कृतियों, और सभ्यताओं में शाश्वत, अपरिवर्तनीय, और अटल है। क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने अपना वचन अपने सर्वज्ञानी, अन्त को आरम्भ से ही जान लेने के गुण के अन्तर्गत (यशायाह 46:10), एक ही बार, सभी के लिए, अनन्तकाल के लिये दे दिया है (भजन 119:89, 160)। आज हम पवित्र आत्मा के सत्य का आत्मा होने तथ्य के अभिप्राय और व्यवहारिक उपयोग के बारे में और आगे देखेंगे।

परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा कभी भी किसी भी असत्य – अर्थात वह जो परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में पहले से ही दिया नहीं गया है, या बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के अनुसार सही नहीं है, उस के साथ कभी भी सम्मिलित नहीं होगा। वह न तो उस बात के दिए जाने में, न ही उसे सिखाए जाने में, और न ही उसका किसी भी रीति से किसी के जीवन या सेवकाई में उपयोग किए जाने में सम्मिलित अथवा सहमत होगा। पवित्र आत्मा ही, अपनी प्रेरणा और मार्गदर्शन देने के द्वारा, परमेश्वर के वचन का मूल लेखक है। बाइबल की पुस्तक लिखने वाले प्रत्येक व्यक्ति ने यह कार्य उसे उपलब्ध करवाई गई परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य के द्वारा ही किया है (2 तीमुथियुस 3:16; 2 पतरस 2:13)। इसीलिए वह जो सत्य नहीं है, अर्थात बाइबल का तथ्य नहीं है, उसके साथ पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य और मार्गदर्शन कभी भी सम्मिलित नहीं हो सकता है, चाहे उसे प्रस्तुत करने वाला उस बात को जाने अथवा अनजाने में बाइबल की ही बात क्यों न कहे, कितनी ही तर्कसंगत, आकर्षक, और बलपूर्वक रीति से बारम्बार ही क्यों न कहे।

इसीलिए हमारे पास प्रेरितों 17:11 और 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21 के निर्देश हैं, जो हम से आग्रह करते हैं – कभी किसी बात को यूं ही नहीं मान लो; कभी भी प्रचारक या शिक्षक के भक्त चरित्र, नाम, प्रसिद्धि, लोकप्रियता आदि से प्रभावित होकर उसकी हर बात को यूं ही स्वीकार मत करो। मसीही विश्वासियों को मसीही जीवन जीने के लिये हमेशा ही केवल परमेश्वर ही के वचन का उपयोग करना है। प्रत्येक बात को जाँचने, परखने, और उस बात की पुष्टि करने के लिये, किसी व्यक्ति के नहीं बल्कि परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रयोग करना है। यदि वह बात खरी प्रमाणित हो तभी उसे स्वीकार करना है, अन्यथा नहीं। यह कथन आवश्यकता से अधिक कड़ा प्रतीत हो सकता है, लेकिन हमें यह याद रखने की आवश्यकता है कि शैतान ‘ज्योतिर्मय स्वर्गदूत’ के रूप में अपने आप को प्रस्तुत करता है, और उसके सेवक झूठे प्रेरित, छल के काम करने वाले, मसीह के प्रेरितों का रूप धरने वाले, और धर्म के सेवक बनकर आते हैं कि मसीही विश्वासियों को वचन ही के द्वारा बहका और भरमा सकें (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13-15)।

परमेश्वर का वचन हमें दिखाता और सिखाता है कि परमेश्वर के जाने-पहचाने लोगों ने भी ऐसी बातें कहीं और की हैं जो गलत थीं, झूठी थीं, तथा उन बातों से औरों को भी अपनी गलतियों में फँसा लिया है। इस के कुछ उदाहरण हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Truth – 4

 

The Holy Spirit of God is given by God to all the truly Born-Again Christian believers at the very moment of their salvation—that is, from the moment when they repent of their sins, accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and surrender their lives to Him. From that very moment, every saved Christian believer not only becomes a Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), but also automatically becomes a steward of the Holy Spirit whom they have received. Currently, we are studying the Christian believer’s role as a steward of the Holy Spirit. We are presently considering God the Holy Spirit being called the ‘Spirit of Truth’ by the  Lord Jesus in John 14:17, and its implications. We have seen that as the Spirit of Truth, He will never, in any manner, not even in implications, be associated with anything that is false or wrong. In the last article we have seen and understood from the Bible what Biblically is the ‘Truth’ that with which the Holy Spirit will be associated with, and will never go beyond that – the Word of God. In the last article, on the basis of 2 Peter 1:3, we have seen that everything that pertains to life and godliness has already been given to the Christian Believers in God’s Word through the knowledge of Christ Jesus. There is nothing more that is required or will be given to him from God, over and beyond what has already been given in God’s Word.

 

Therefore, anything pertaining to the Believer’s life and godliness, that is not already stated in God’s Word, is not true, is not from God. Similarly, any implications or interpretations made upon Biblical things and terms, but not practically used, exemplified, or practised in the Biblical text, are just as false as well. God is eternal, unchanging (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8), and infallible across all times, places, cultures, and civilizations. Similarly, God’s Word and instructions remain unchanging and always applicable no matter the times, places, cultures, and civilizations. Since God has given them in His omniscience, knowing the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), gave His Word for everyone, for all times, once and for all (Psalm 119:89, 160). Today we will consider further the implications and practical applications of the fact of the Holy Spirit being the Spirit of Truth.

God the Holy Spirit will never be associated in any way with the untruth, i.e., that which has not already been given in God’s Word the Bible, nor is in conformity with the teachings of the Bible. He will not in any way be associated or involved in giving it, nor in teaching it, nor in putting it to use in any manner in anyone’s life and ministry. The Holy Spirit, through His inspiration and guidance, is the actual author of God’s Word. Every person who wrote the books of the Bible, did so through the power of the Holy Spirit of God made available to him for writing it down (2 Timothy 3:16). That is why we cannot have the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, in anything that is not the truth, i.e., for that which is not a Biblical fact, though it, knowingly or unknowingly, may be presented as a Biblical fact, in a very logical manner, very attractively, stated very emphatically, and said repeatedly.

 

2 Timothy 3:16 and 2 Peter 1:20-21 say that it was the Holy Spirit who had the human authors of the Gospels record all that is recorded for us in the Gospels and all the other books of the Bible, for all times. In context of the Gospels, it was He, who had these human authors write down from the words that the Lord Jesus spoke during His ministry on earth, to be made available to us as ‘words spoken by the Lord Jesus’ in the Word of God. One of the functions and characteristics of the Holy Spirit is that though He does tell the Believers about the things to come; but He never adds anything extra from His own side to what He has already got recorded in the books of the Bible. Similarly, though He reminds the Christian Believers of what the Lord Jesus has taught and said during His earthly ministry, as He got it written in the Word, but in doing so He does not ever add to the already written words of the Lord (John 16:13-15). Always bearing this fact in mind is of paramount importance to be able to recognize and discern the various wrong teachings and false statements and interpretations or implications claimed to be received as revelations from God by anyone, whether a Believer or otherwise.

 

That is why we have the instructions of Acts 17:11 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21, exhorting us - do not ever assume anything; never ever get carried away by the godly character, name, fame, popularity of the preacher or the teacher. The Christian Believers, to live their Christian lives are to always use only the Word of God. Each and everything being preached and taught to them must be cross-examined, checked, and confirmed not through the words of any person, but only thr If it is Biblically proven and verified, only then is it to be accepted and believed, otherwise not. While this may seem to be an excessively rigid statement, but we need to remember that Satan transforms himself into an ‘angel of light’, and his angels masquerade as false apostles, deceitful workers, apostles of Christ, and ministers of righteousness, to deceive and mislead the Christian Believers through the Word of God (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15).

God’s Word shows and teaches us that even the known people of God, knowingly or unknowingly said and did things that were wrong, were false, and that misled others into following their error. We will consider some examples of this in the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

Holy Spirit – The Spirit of Truth – 4

 

    We are studying Christian Believer’s being stewards of God the Holy Spirit, given to them by God at the moment of their repenting of their sins, accepting the Lord Jesus as their savior, and surrendering their lives to Him. We are presently considering God the Holy Spirit being called the ‘Spirit of Truth’ in John 14:17, and its implications. We have seen that as the Spirit of Truth, He will never, in any manner, even in implications, be associated with anything that is false or wrong. In the last article we have seen and understood from the Bible what Biblically is the ‘Truth’ that with which the Holy Spirit will be associated with, and will never go beyond that – the Word of God. In the last article, on the basis of 2 Peter 1:3, we have seen that everything that pertains to life and godliness has already been given to the Christian Believers in God’s Word through the knowledge of Christ Jesus. There is nothing more that is required or will be given to him from God, over and beyond what has already been given in God’s Word. Therefore, anything pertaining to the Believer’s life and godliness, that is not already mentioned in God’s Word, is not true, is not from God. Today we will consider further the implications and practical applications of this fact.

    God the Holy Spirit will never be associated in any way with the untruth, i.e., that which has not already been given in God’s Word the Bible - neither in giving it, nor in teaching it, nor in putting it to use in any manner in anyone’s life and ministry. The Holy Spirit, through His inspiration and guidance, is the actual author of God’s Word. Every person who wrote the books of the Bible, did so through the power of the Holy Spirit of God made available to him for writing it down (2 Timothy 3:16). That is why we cannot have the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, in anything that is not the truth, i.e., is not a Biblical fact, though it may be presented as a Biblical fact, knowingly or unknowingly.

    This means that it was the Holy Spirit who had the human authors of the Gospels record all that is recorded for us in the Gospels and all the other books of the Bible. In context of the Gospels, it was He, who had these human authors write down from the words that the Lord Jesus spoke during His ministry on earth, to be made available to us as ‘words spoken by the Lord Jesus’ in the Word of God. One of the functions and characteristics of the Holy Spirit is that though He does tell the Believers about the things to come, but He never adds anything extra from His own side to what He has already got recorded in the books of the Bible. Similarly, though He reminds the Christian Believers of what the Lord Jesus has taught and said during His earthly ministry, as He got it written in the Word, but in doing so He does not ever add to the already written words of the Lord (John 16:13-15). Always bearing this fact in mind is of paramount importance to be able to recognize and discern the various wrong teachings and false statements claimed to be received as revelations from God by anyone, Believers or, otherwise.

    That is why we have the instructions of Acts 17:11 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21, exhorting us - do not ever assume anything; never ever get carried away by the godly character, name, fame, popularity of the preacher or the teacher. The Christian Believers are to always use the Word of God to first check and confirm each and everything being preached and taught to them; and only accept and believe if it could be verified from God’s Word. While this may seem to be an excessive statement, but we need to remember that Satan transforms himself into an ‘angel of light’, and his angels masquerade as false apostles, deceitful workers, apostles of Christ, and ministers of righteousness, to deceive and mislead the Christian Believers (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15).

    God’s Word shows and teaches us that even the known people of God, knowingly or unknowingly said and did things that were wrong, were false, and misled others into following their error. We will consider some examples of this in the next article.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

यूहन्ना 13 अध्याय से लेकर 17 अध्याय तक, क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने से पहले, फसह के पर्व को मनाते हुए, अपने शिष्यों के साथ किया गया प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अंतिम वार्तालाप है। प्रभु जानते थे कि उनकी पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के ये अंतिम पल हैं, और वे अपने शिष्यों को उनके जाने के बाद सेवकाई संभालने के लिए तैयार कर रहे थे, अंतिम निर्देश दे रहे थे, भविष्य में उनके लिए बहुत उपयोगी होने वाली कुछ बातें बता और समझा रहे थे। इन बातों में से एक थी प्रभु यीशु के जाने के बाद शिष्यों में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य का आ जाना, जिनकी अगुवाई और सामर्थ्य के द्वारा फिर शिष्यों ने सुसमाचार प्रचार की सेवकाई को सारे संसार में करना था। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के शिष्यों के साथ होने, और शिष्यों में होकर कार्य करने के विषय प्रभु यीशु ने जो बातें शिष्यों से कहीं वे हमें यूहन्ना के 14 तथा 16 अध्याय में मिलती हैं। यूहन्ना 14 अध्याय में दी गई शिक्षाएं मुख्यतः शिष्यों के व्यक्तिगत जीवन में पवित्र आत्मा की भूमिका से संबंधित हैं; और 16 अध्याय की शिक्षाएं मुख्यतः उनकी सार्वजनिक सेवकाई में पवित्र आत्मा की भूमिका से संबंधित हैं। दुर्भाग्यवश, आज परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, और मसीही विश्वासियों के साथ उनके संबंध तथा मसीही सेवकाई में उनकी भूमिका को लेकर गलत शिक्षाओं, मिथ्या प्रचार और व्यर्थ शारीरिक हाव-भाव एवं शोर-शराबे की बातों का इतना अधिक बोल-बाला हो गया है कि लोग परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल की स्पष्ट और सीधी सच्चाइयों को भी ठीक से देखने और समझने नहीं पा रहे हैं। वे प्रभु यीशु की कही इन बातों पर ध्यान देने के स्थान पर मनुष्यों द्वारा बनाए गए मत-समुदायों-डिनॉमिनेशंस की बातों और उनके प्रचारकों की भरमाने वाली बातों के धोखे में फंसे हुए हैं। आज हम नवंबर 5 से 8 तक यूहन्ना 14 अध्याय के लेखों के सारांश को देखेंगे, जो मुख्यतः मसीही विश्वासी के व्यक्तिगत जीवन में पवित्र आत्मा की भूमिका से संबंधित हैं।

 

इन लेखों में सबसे पहली बात हमने देखी थी कि यूहन्ना 14:16 के अनुसार, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा किसी भी व्यक्ति में किसी मनुष्य की युक्ति या प्रयास से आकर नहीं निवास करते हैं। वे प्रभु यीशु के कहे अनुसार, प्रभु के शिष्यों में आकर रहते हैं। और हमने आरंभिक लेखों में, तथा कल के सारांश में देखा था, कि यह व्यक्ति के उद्धार पाते ही, तुरंत ही उसी पल होने वाली बात है। किसी को भी पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने के लिए अलग से कोई कार्य या प्रयास या प्रतीक्षा करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है; उद्धार पाते ही, स्वतः ही पवित्र आत्मा प्रभु यीशु के उस नवजात शिष्य में आकर निवास करने लगते हैं। साथ ही प्रभु यीशु उन्हें “सर्वदा साथ रहने” के लिए भेजता है। एक बार जिस शिष्य में पवित्र आत्मा आकर निवास करने लगता है, वह फिर सदा के लिए जीवन पर्यंत उसके साथ रहने के लिए उसमें निवास करता है। इसलिए बारंबार पवित्र आत्मा के आने के लिए प्रार्थना करना वचन से संगत नहीं है। साथ ही, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी का सहायक बनकर आते हैं, सेवक बनकर नहीं। वे प्रभु के शिष्य का मार्गदर्शन करते हैं, उसे सिखाते हैं, सेवकाई के लिए समझ और सामर्थ्य प्रदान करते हैं, किन्तु उस शिष्य के कार्य को उसके स्थान पर नहीं करते हैं; करना शिष्य को ही होता है, तरीका पवित्र आत्मा बताते हैं।

 

फिर, यूहन्ना 14:17 से हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, सत्य का आत्मा है; वे संसार में और संसार के लोगों में नहीं रह सकते हैं। अभिप्राय यह कि जो वास्तव में उद्धार पाया हुआ सच्चा विश्वासी है, उसमें पवित्र आत्मा स्वतः ही आकर निवास करेंगे; और जिसने वास्तव में पश्चाताप नहीं किया उद्धार नहीं पाया, वह चाहे कोई भी कार्य या प्रयास कर ले, उसमें पवित्र आत्मा का निवास कदापि नहीं होगा। उनके “सत्य का आत्मा’” होने का तात्पर्य है कि उनकी हर बात, हर शिक्षा, हर व्यवहार बाइबल में दी गई सत्य की परिभाषा - प्रभु यीशु मसीह (यूहन्ना 14:6), और परमेश्वर का वचन (भजन 119:160), के अनुसार और अनुरूप ही होगा। वे कभी प्रभु यीशु और बाइबल में लिखी हुई बातों से भिन्न या बाहर कुछ नहीं कहेंगे या सिखाएंगे। इस बात की पुष्टि प्रभु ने यूहन्ना 14:26 में भी कर दी, जब उन्होंने बिलकुल स्पष्ट शब्दों में कह दिया कि पवित्र आत्मा आकर केवल प्रभु की दी हुई शिक्षाओं को ही स्मरण करवाएंगे और सिखाएंगे। इसलिए आज पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से जो विचित्र व्यवहार, शारीरिक क्रियाएं, हाव-भाव और शोर-शराबा किया जा रहा है, जिसका कोई उदाहरण या शिक्षा बाइबल में नहीं मिलती है, वह कभी पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से नहीं हो सकता है।

बाइबल में सम्मिलित किए जाने वाले सारे लेख प्रथम शताब्दी की समाप्ति से पहले ही लिखे जा चुके थे। बाद में इन्हीं लेखों को संकलित करके नया नियम बना। साथ ही, पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में पतरस ने 2 पतरस 1:3-4 में लिख दिया था कि जीवन और भक्ति से संबंधित सभी बातें, प्रभु यीशु मसीह की पहचान में होकर हमें उपलब्ध करवा दी गई हैं; तथा साथ ही इस संसार की सड़ाहट से बचने और ईश्वरीय स्वभाव के संभागी होने का मार्ग भी दे दिया गया है। तात्पर्य यह कि परमेश्वर का वचन आरंभिक कलीसिया के समय से ही पूर्ण हो चुका है, उसमें और कुछ जोड़ने, कुछ नया बताने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। ऐसा करना परमेश्वर के वचन की अनाज्ञाकारिता है, परमेश्वर द्वारा दण्डनीय है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 12:32; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19)। परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य और उसे प्रसन्न करने वाला जीवन जीने के लिए मानवजाति के लिए जो कुछ भी आवश्यक है, वह सब परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने लिखवा दिया है, उपलब्ध करवा दिया है। इसलिए आज के उन ‘नए’ दर्शनों, भविष्यवाणियों, शिक्षाओं, चमत्कारिक बातों, आदि का कोई औचित्य अथवा आवश्यकता नहीं है; और न ही परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से उनके लिए कोई समर्थन है, जिन्हें ‘पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से’ प्राप्त करने का दावा आज बहुत से मत और समुदाय, या डिनॉमिनेशन के अनुयायी करते हैं, जिन गलत बातों के बारे में औरों को भी सिखाते हैं, तथा औरों को भी करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करते हैं। यदि पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित बाइबल की शिक्षाएं, प्रभु यीशु की कही बातें सही हैं, तो इन लोगों के ऐसे सभी दावे बेबुनियाद हैं, व्यर्थ हैं, झूठे हैं, और उनमें पड़ने या उन्हें स्वीकार करने का कोई आधार नहीं है।

फिर यूहन्ना 14:30 में प्रभु ने शिष्यों को सचेत किया कि प्रभु के चले जाने के पश्चात, उनका सामना 'संसार का सरदार' अर्थात शैतान से होना था, जो उन पर टूट कर पड़ने वाला था। इसलिए उन्हें उसका सामना करने, और उसपर जयवंत होने के लिए, प्रभु के लिए सेवकाई पर निकालने से पहले पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य की अनिवार्यता थी।

इसीलिए, यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो परमेश्वर के वचन, को जानने और मानने में अपना समय और ध्यान लगाइए; अपनी मन-मर्जी और पसंद के अनुसार नहीं, अपितु प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन व्यतीत करें। प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को व्यक्तिगत रीति से पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य दिए जाने का उद्देश्य यही है कि वह शैतान की युक्तियों को समझे, उनके प्रति सचेत रहे, और परमेश्वर के वचन को सीख समझ कर अपनी मसीही सेवकाई के लिए सक्षम, तत्पर, और तैयार हो जाए, उस सेवकाई में लग जाए।

Recapitulation and Summary - (2) – Role in Believer’s Life

In John chapters 13 to 17 we have the last discourse of the Lord Jesus with His disciples, while participating in the Passover feast, before His being caught and taken for crucifixion. The Lord knew that these were His final moments of earthly ministry, and He was preparing His disciples to handle the ministry after Him, giving them the final instructions, and making them understand some things which would be crucial for them shortly, in the time to come. Amongst these things, one was the disciples receiving the power of the Holy Spirit after the departure of the Lord Jesus. The disciples were to do their ministry of preaching and propagating the gospel to the whole world under the guidance and through the power of the Holy Spirit. What the Lord Jesus said about the Holy Spirit being with the disciples and working through them, is given in John chapters 14 and 16. The teachings given in John 14 are mainly related to the role of the Holy Spirit in the personal life of the disciples; and those in John 16 are mainly related to the role of the Holy Spirit in the public ministry of the disciples. Unfortunately, these days wrong teachings, preaching, doctrines etc. related to the Holy Spirit, His role in the life and ministry of the Christian Believers are rampant; and people exhibiting odd behavior, showing strange gestures, shout and make strange noises, etc., all in the name of the Holy Spirit. These have so overwhelmed the Christian congregations, that people are finding it difficult to see and understand the simple, straightforward, and clear teachings of God’s Word the Bible about God the Holy Spirit, and His role in Christian life and ministry. The main reason for this confusion prevailing, and people getting carried away into false teachings and wrong doctrines is because people choose to believe on men and their sects, denominations, and contrived doctrines; on whatever these people show, say, preach, and teach in the name of the Holy Spirit, instead of reading and learning from the Word of God what the Lord Jesus has said and taught about the Holy Spirit. Today we will recapitulate and see a summary of the previous articles on the role of the Holy Spirit in the personal lives of the Christian Believer.

In those articles, the first thing that we had seen from John 14:16 was that God the Holy Spirit does not come to reside in anyone by the efforts and devices of any man. He is sent by the Lord Jesus to reside in the disciples of the Lord Jesus. We had seen in the initial articles, and yesterday’s summary that this happens at the very moment the person is saved, is Born-Again. Nobody needs to make any special efforts or wait for any period of time for the Holy Spirit to come and reside in him; as soon as the person is saved, the Holy Spirit comes into the spiritually new-born infant. The Holy Spirit, when He comes in, comes in to stay forever, and resides in the person throughout his life. Therefore, repeatedly praying and asking for the Holy Spirit, or singing worship songs for the Holy Spirit to come in again and again is not consistent with the Word of God. Also, the Holy Spirit comes to be the helper of the Christian Believer, not his servant or substitute. He guides the disciples of the Lord Jesus, teaches them, give them the wisdom and understanding for their ministry, but does not do the disciple’s work for him; the disciple has to do his work himself, the Holy Spirit will show and teach him how to do it.

Then we had seen from John 14:17 that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, and He cannot reside in worldly, unsaved people. The implication is that if a person is a saved, a truly Born-Again Believer, then the Holy Spirit will automatically reside in him from the moment of his salvation. But if someone has not truly repented of sins and has not actually been saved, then no matter how many efforts, fasting, praying, tarrying, etc. he may do, the Holy Spirit will never come to reside in him. We had also seen that the meaning and practical application of His being the “Spirit of Truth” is that everything about Him, all His teachings, His every behavior and work, they are all in accordance with the definition of Truth given in the Bible; i.e., are consistent with and according to what the Lord Jesus (John 14:6) and the Word of God (Psalm 119:160) say. The Holy Spirit never ever teaches or does anything that is outside of, or different from, what has already been said and written in the Bible. The Lord affirmed this in John 14:26, when He very clearly stated that the Holy Spirit will only remind and teach what the Lord Jesus has already said and taught. All the odd behaviors, strange gestures, incoherent noises etc. that are being shown, taught, and being emphasized upon in the name of the Holy Spirit - there is absolutely no mention or evidence of any of it in the Bible; it simply cannot be from the Holy Spirit.

We had also seen that all the writings and teachings that were to be included in the compilation to form the Bible, had been written and circulated before the end of the first century. These were then compiled to form the New Testament. In 2 Peter 1:3-4, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Apostle Peter had it written that all things pertaining to life and godliness, had already been given and made available in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, along with the way of escaping the corruption of the world and becoming a partaker of the divine nature. The clear and evident implication is that the Word of God was completed and made available to the people at the time of the first Church itself; there is nothing left to add to it, nothing new needs to be revealed after that. Adding or taking away from God’s Word is disobedience of God, and is punishable by God (Deuteronomy 12:32; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). Everything that mankind needs to do to live a life acceptable and pleasing to God, has already been written down through the Holy Spirit, and made available in the Bible. Therefore, there is neither any need nor rational for all those ‘new’ visions, prophecies, teachings, charismatic behavior etc., that is often exhibited today; and neither is there any support or evidence from the Bible of any of these things being “from the Holy Spirit”, as is so commonly and emphatically claimed by these people, sects and denominations engaged in these wrong doctrines and false teachings, and taught to others to emulate. If what is given in the Bible about the Holy Spirit, the teachings given by the Lord Jesus, are correct, then all these claims of these people are wrong, false, vain, and there is no basis of accepting and following any of these claims.

Then in John 14:30, the Lord Jesus cautioned His disciples that after His departure, the “prince of this world” i.e., Satan will confront them and attack them. Therefore, to be able to face him and be victorious over him, before they step out for their Christian Ministry, it was mandatory for them that they get the power of the Holy Spirit, because only through that power can they overcome Satan and his devices.

So, if you are a Christian Believer, then involve yourself in learning and understanding God’s Word; live your life not according to what seems correct and appropriate to you, but in obedience to the Lord God and His Word. The purpose for making available the help and power of the Holy Spirit to every Christian Believer is so that they may learn to recognize and discern the devices of Satan, beware of them, and be made ready for their ministry to carry it out effectively.

 

If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian, because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start understanding and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
