परमेश्वर के वचन से उचित व्यवहार – 14
पिछले कुछ लेखों में हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 से देखते आ रहे हैं कि पौलुस कैसे स्वयं उस से जो परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखा हुआ है, कभी भी आगे नहीं बढ़ा, यद्यपि वह पवित्रशास्त्र की व्याख्या करने और प्रचार करने के लिये अति उत्तम प्रशिक्षण पाया हुआ था। और, उसने अपने तथा अपुल्लोस के उदाहरण के द्वारा, कलीसिया को भी यही करने की शिक्षा दी। साथ ही उसने बलपूर्वक यह निर्देश भी दिया कि कलीसिया में किसी भी कारण से, कोई भी गुट या विभाजन नहीं होना है। और न ही मसीही विश्वासियों को प्रभु का अनुसरण करने के स्थान पर, अगुवों या मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करना है। आज हम कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली को लिखी पौलुस की दूसरी पत्री के एक पद को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे, यह सीखने के लिए कि लोग किस प्रकार से और क्यों, अपनी स्वार्थ-सिद्धि और साँसारिक लाभ अर्जित करने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हुई बातों से आगे जाते हैं।
पौलुस 2 कुरिन्थियों 2:17 में लिखता है, “क्योंकि हम उन बहुतों के समान नहीं, जो परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करते हैं; परन्तु मन की सच्चाई से, और परमेश्वर की ओर से परमेश्वर को उपस्थित जानकर मसीह में बोलते हैं।” यहाँ पर पौलुस अपनी सेवकाई तथा “उन बहुतों” की सेवकाई के मध्य एक तुलना प्रस्तुत करता है – क्योंकि दोनों, पौलुस, और वे - “उन बहुतों”, परमेश्वर के वचन से ही प्रचार करते थे। किन्तु “उन बहुतों” के प्रचार और पौलुस के प्रचार में बहुत बड़ा अंतर था। इसी से, हम बाइबल में से ही देखते हैं कि सुसमाचार के प्रचार और परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाएँ दिए जाने के आरम्भ से ही, “बहुत” से झूठे प्रचारक और गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले उठ खड़े हुए थे और परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत व्याख्या करने, गलत बातें प्रचार करने, सिखाने, तथा लोगों को गलत मार्गों पर डालने लग गए थे; तथा लोगों में उनकी स्वीकृति और सम्मान भी था।
पहली कलीसिया के समय से ही, शैतान ने अपने बहुत से लोगों को परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाओं और प्रचार को बिगाड़ने, उसे भ्रष्ट करने तथा लोगों को बहका कर गलत मार्ग पर डालने के लिए छोड़ दिया था (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3)। जो विश्वासी उनके द्वारा बहकाए जाते थे, वे यही मानते हुए चलते रहते थे कि वे सही मार्ग पर हैं, और सही अगुवों तथा शिक्षकों की सही शिक्षाओं और व्याख्याओं को ही सुन एवं अनुसरण कर रहे हैं। जबकि वास्तव में शैतान और उसके दूतों ने (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15), उन्हें, उनके वास्तविकता को पहचाने बिना ही गलत मार्गों पर डाल दिया था। इसीलिए प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने अपनी पहली पत्री में विश्वासियों को लिखा था कि हर किसी की बातों पर विश्वास न करें, परन्तु पहले उन लोगों और उनकी शिक्षाओं को सावधानीपूर्वक जाँच-परख लें, और सही पाए जाने पर ही उन पर भरोसा करें (1 यूहन्ना 4:1-6)। पौलुस ने भी यही बात एक ही वाक्य में कही है, “सब बातों को परखो: जो अच्छी है उसे पकड़े रहो” (1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 5:21)।
हमारे आज के मुख्य पद, 2 कुरिन्थियों 2:17, में पौलुस उनकी और अपनी सेवकाई के मध्य एक तुलना प्रस्तुत करता है। पौलुस “परमेश्वर को उपस्थित जानकर” बोलता था, इस एहसास के साथ कि जो कुछ भी वह कह रहा है, उसके लिए एक दिन वह परमेश्वर के सामने जवाबदेह होगा। इसकी तुलना में ये गलत प्रचार और शिक्षा देने वाले परमेश्वर के वचन में “मिलावट” करते थे, अर्थात् लाभ कमाने के लिए वचन का अनुचित रीति से उपयोग करते थे, वचन को “बेचते” थे। तो, शैतान के ये दूत सुसमाचार और परमेश्वर के वचन को स्वार्थ-सिद्धि के लिए, उस से कमाई करने के लिए प्रचार करते थे, सिखाते थे, न कि लोगों को पापों से क्षमा और उद्धार का सुसमाचार देने के लिये। इसकी तुलना में पौलुस ने 1 कुरिन्थियों 9:7-18 में अपने जीवन से दिखाया कि, कहीं लोग गलत न समझ लें, उसने सुसमाचार प्रचार के लिये, उसे परमेश्वर से दिये गये विशेषाधिकारों और लाभों का भी प्रयोग नहीं किया। इसके विपरीत, वह अपनी जीविका के लिये स्वयं परिश्रम करता था, और अपनी आमदनी में से अपने साथियों और कलीसिया की भी सहायता किया करता था (प्रेरितों 20:34-35; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:7-10; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 3:7-9)।
जैसे पौलुस किया करता था, गलत प्रचार और शिक्षाएँ देने वाले ये लोग भी परमेश्वर के सेवक बनकर यात्राएँ कर के स्थान-स्थान पर जाया करते थे। जबकि पौलुस नई कलीसियाएँ स्थापित करने में प्रयासरत रहता था, उसकी तुलना में ये “बहुतेरे” लोग जो कलीसियाएँ स्थापित हो चुकी थीं उन्हीं में जाते थे। वे लोग उन स्थानों पर विद्यमान मसीही विश्वासियों के सामने अपने आप को परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रचारक और शिक्षक प्रस्तुत करते थे। और अपनी पुष्टि के लिये वे बहुधा अपने साथ, जिन स्थानों से वे आए थे, वहाँ से अपने बारे में लिए गए सिफारिश के पत्र भी दिखाते थे (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-2 के साथ तुलना कीजिए)। फिर वे कुछ पैसा लेकर, अपने ही सिद्धान्तों और शिक्षाओं को बताते और सिखाते थे, ऐसी बातों को जिन्हें श्रोता सुनना पसंद करते थे; न कि परमेश्वर के वचन से किसी खरी और सही शिक्षा और सिद्धांत को (2 तिमुथियुस 4:3-4)। इनकी तुलना में पौलुस अपनी सेवकाई का गुण और पहचान बताता है, कि वह खराई से बोलता था, मनुष्यों को नहीं वरन परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला हो कर बोलता था (गलातियों 1:10-11)।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Appropriately Handling God’s Word – 14
In the previous few articles, we have been seeing from 1 Corinthians 4:6 about how Paul never ever went beyond what has already been written in God’s Word, although he was highly qualified to interpret and teach the Scriptures. And, by putting himself and Apollos as examples, he taught the Church to also do the same. Paul also strongly emphasized and taught against the Church getting divided into any groups and factions on any grounds. He also taught against Christian Believers following elders, or men instead of following the Lord. Today we will begin to consider a verse from Paul’s second letter to the Church in Corinth, to see an example of how people go beyond what has been written in God’s Word for selfish purposes and worldly gains.
Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 2:17 “For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.” Paul, here presents a contrast between his ministry, and the ministry of “so many” – since both, Paul and these - the “so many,” were preaching from God’s Word. But there was a glaring difference between the preaching of the “so many,” and Paul’s preaching. Through this we see from the Bible that from the very beginning of the preaching of the gospel and God’s Word, “many” false preachers had also started preaching and teaching wrong things, misinterpreting God’s Word, and misleading the people; and people had not only accepted them, but honored them as well.
Right from the time of the first Church, Satan had sent out many of his agents to subvert the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, and mislead people (2 Corinthians 11:3). Those Believers who were being misled, would continue to believe that they are on the right path, listening to and following the right teachings and interpretations from the right elders and preachers. But actually, unknowingly they were listening to and following Satan and his angels (2 Corinthians 11:13-15); without their realizing it, they had been deceived and put them onto the wrong path. That is why the Apostle John in his first letter wrote to the Believers not to believe everyone, but to first carefully examine and check their teachings, and believe only if found correct (1 John 4:1-6). Paul also said the same in one sentence, in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Test all things; hold fast what is good.”
In our lead verse, 2 Corinthians 2:17, Paul presents a contrast between his ministry and theirs. As we see from this verse, Paul spoke “in the sight of God”, i.e., speaking with a sense of accountability to God about whatever he was preaching and teaching. In contrast, the errant preachers and teachers were “peddling,” which means to either sell, or to use inappropriately for gaining profit, God’s Word. So, what these agents of Satan were doing was using the gospel, using God’s Word for selfish purposes, to either promote and exalt themselves, or to make an earning out of preaching and teaching it, instead of spreading the good news of forgiveness of sins and salvation. In contrast, Paul did not even claim or utilize his rightful privileges, sanctioned by God, as a minister of God and preacher of God’s Word, lest he be misunderstood in any way (1 Corinthians 9:7-18). Instead, he worked for a living, and used his earnings to help his colleagues and the Church (Acts 20:34-35; 1 Thessalonians 2:7-10; 2 Thessalonians 3:7-9).
Like Paul, these errant preachers too would travel to different places as ministers of God. Whereas, Paul used to labor to establish new Churches, these “many” would go to places where Churches had already been established. In those established Churches, amongst the existing Christian Believers, they would present themselves as preachers and teachers of God’s Word. To affirm themselves, they would often bring with them letters of recommendation from the Churches and places they had preached earlier (contrast with 2 Corinthians 3:1-2). Then for a fee, they would preach and teach on their own, things that were pleasing to the audience, instead of sound doctrine from God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:3-4). In contrast, Paul gives the characteristics of his ministry, that he spoke with sincerity, not as a ‘man pleaser’ but from God, as a ‘God pleaser’ (Galatians 1:10-11).

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
