परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होना – 2

 

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर की अपेक्षा है कि जो कुछ भी वह लोगों को देता है, वे उसका आदर करें, और उचित रीति से उसका सदुपयोग करें। क्योंकि परमेश्वर चाहता है कि उसने जो हमें सौंपा है, हम उसकी देखभाल और संभाल करें, तो इससे तात्पर्य निकलता है कि जो परमेश्वर ने दिया है उसे हानि पहुँचाने, नाश करने, व्यर्थ समझने, दुरुपयोग करने, निष्फल करने, आदि के शैतानी प्रयास किए जाएंगे। इसलिए हमें परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए वरदान की कीमत पहचाननी है, उसकी देखभाल करनी है, और बड़े ध्यान से शैतानी हमलों से उसकी रक्षा करनी है। अच्छा भण्डारी होने का अर्थ है परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई बात का मेहनत से ध्यान रखना।

    जैसा दाऊद ने सुलैमान से कहा था, वैसा ही पौलुस ने भी कहा है, कि उसे भी उन सभी बातों का जो परमेश्वर ने उसे दी हैं, परमेश्वर के भेदो का भण्डारी बनाया गया है; और भण्डारी होने के नाते, परमेश्वर चाहता है कि वह इस ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह में विश्वासयोग्य हो (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:1-2)। वह आगे चलकर सुसमाचार प्रचार की सेवकाई के सन्दर्भ में कहता है कि उसे यह ज़िम्मेदारी भण्डारीपन के समान सौंपी गई है और उसे हर कीमत पर इसका निर्वाह करना ही है (1 कुरिन्थियों 9:16-17), अन्यथा उस से सम्बन्धित ‘हाय’ को झेलने के लिए तैयार रहना है। जैसे पौलुस के लिए सुसमाचार प्रचार की यह ज़िम्मेदारी थी, वैसे ही अन्य सभी सेवकाइयों के लिए भी वह अपनी ऐसी ही ज़िम्मेदारी समझता था। इसीलिए यह जानते हुए कि उसके जीवन काल का अन्त निकट है, वह बड़ी ईमानदारी और बिना झिझक के कह सका, “मैं अच्छी कुश्ती लड़ चुका हूं मैं ने अपनी दौड़ पूरी कर ली है, मैं ने विश्वास की रखवाली की है। भविष्य में मेरे लिये धर्म का वह मुकुट रखा हुआ है, जिसे प्रभु, जो धर्मी, और न्यायी है, मुझे उस दिन देगा और मुझे ही नहीं, वरन उन सब को भी, जो उसके प्रगट होने को प्रिय जानते हैं” (2 तीमुथियुस 4:7-8)।

    जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में, और यहाँ पर पौलुस के उदाहरण से देखा है, भण्डारी होना न तो केवल कुछ लोगों के लिए होता है, और न ही बाद में नहीं जोड़ा जाता है। परमेश्वर जब भी किसी को कुछ भी देता है, वह व्यक्ति साथ ही परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिए गए का भण्डारी भी हो जाता है, और उससे अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि वह इस ज़िम्मेदारी का निर्वाह भी करेगा। मसीह यीशु के समर्पित, प्रतिबद्ध विश्वासी के लिए भण्डारी होने की इस ज़िम्मेदारी को स्वीकार करने अथवा इनकार करने का प्रश्न ही नहीं उठता है। उसे तो हर कीमत पर या तो उसका निर्वाह करना है, अन्यथा उससे संबंधित ‘हाय’ को झेलने के लिए तैयार रहना है, जैसा कि पौलुस ने सुसमाचार प्रचार के अपने भण्डारीपन के बारे में कहा।

    अब ज़रा सोचिए, वास्तविकता में, हम मसीही विश्वासी पौलुस से कहीं बेहतर स्थिति में हैं, किन्तु अपने कार्यों में उससे बहुत अधिक निम्न हैं। पौलुस के पास केवल पवित्र आत्मा था, उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन के लिए, और सीखने के लिए केवल पुराने नियम के पुस्तकें थीं। उसके जीवन काल और सेवकाई के समय में नए नियम में सम्मिलित की जाने वाली पुस्तकें अभी लिखी ही जा रही थीं; वे अभी संकलित कर के नए नियम के रूप में नहीं आईं थीं, बाइबल अभी पूर्ण नहीं थी। यात्रा करना और संपर्क करना, अन्य स्थानों को सन्देश भेजना आदि, बहुत कठिन और जोखिम भरे कार्य थे; किन्तु इस कारण पौलुस कभी रुका नहीं। आज, हमारे पास सम्पूर्ण बाइबल है, सभी पुस्तकें लिखी और संकलित कर ली गई हैं। हमारे पास विभिन्न अनुवाद भी हैं, अलग-अलग भाषाओं में भी और एक ही भाषा में भी। हमारे पास बाइबल अध्ययन में सहायता के लिए कई प्रकार की सहायता उपलब्ध है, जैसे की व्याख्याएँ, शब्दकोष, नक़्शे, कान्कॉर्डन्स, तथा कई अन्य प्रकार के संसाधन, जो इंटरनेट पर तथा छपे हुए दोनों तरह से उपलब्ध हैं, इंटरनेट पर बहुत से संसाधन मुफ्त भी हैं तथा आसानी से उपलब्ध भी हैं; तथा अनेकों बाइबल कॉलेज, सेमनरी, तथा शिक्षा के अन्य स्त्रोत, आदि, सभी उपलब्ध हैं। संपर्क करने और सन्देश भेजने के लिए हमें एक से दूसरे स्थान जाने की भी आवश्यकता नहीं रह गई है; इलेक्ट्रोनिक उपकरणों ने सँसार के हर भाग से तुरंत ही संपर्क करना सहज कर दिया है। और निःसंदेह, प्रत्येक विश्वासी के पास, उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन के लिए परमेश्वर का पवित्र आत्मा तो है ही। पौलुस की तुलना में, आज के विश्वासियों के पास केवल एक ही बात की कमी है, किसी भी कीमत पर परमेश्वर का विश्वासयोग्य भण्डारी होने की इच्छा, परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होने की लालसा, परमेश्वर के कार्य के प्रति समर्पित और प्रतिबद्ध होना। और इस एक बात की कमी ने पौलुस की और हमारी सेवकाई में इतना बड़ा अन्तर डाल दिया है। आज हम में से कितने हैं, जो यह जानते हुए कि अन्त बहुत निकट है, पौलुस के साथ खड़े होकर वह कह सकते हैं जो पौलुस ने 2 तीमुथियुस 4:7-8 में कहा है?

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Being God’s Steward - 2

 

    In the previous article we have seen that God expects His people to respect and properly utilize what He gives them. Since God wants us to be careful to take care or safeguard what He has entrusted to us, it implies that there will be satanic attempts to damage, destroy, ignore, consider vain, or misuse, render infructuous what God has given. Therefore, God's gift has to be valued, looked after and kept secure from satanic attacks. To be a good Steward means to properly and diligently keep charge of what God has given.

    As David said to Solomon, Paul also says that he has been made a steward of everything, all the mysteries of God, that God has given him; and as a steward, God expects him to be faithful in fulfilling this responsibility (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). He goes on to say regarding his stewardship of preaching the gospel, that come what may he has to fulfil this responsibility (1 Corinthians 9:16-17), or else suffer the associated woe of not preaching the gospel. This responsibility that Paul felt regarding the gospel, was actually a hallmark of his entire ministry, in all its aspects. That is why at the end of his lifetime, awaiting the end of his physical life, which he knew was coming soon, he could say quite honestly and without any hesitation, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

    As seen in the previous article, and through Paul’s example here, stewardship is neither added later nor meant only for some. When God gives anything to anyone, that person simultaneously also becomes a steward of whatever has been given by God to him, and is expected to fulfil this responsibility. For a committed follower of Christ Jesus, there is no question of accepting or rejecting this stewardship. At any cost, he has to either fulfil it or get ready to receive the woe of not fulfilling the responsibility of the stewardship, as Paul said about his stewardship of preaching the gospel.

    Come to think of it, actually speaking, we Christian Believers are in a much better position than Paul was, and yet way poorer than him in our performance. Paul only had the Holy Spirit to help and guide him, and just the Old Testament books to learn from. The New Testament was still being written, and the books of the Bible had not been compiled at the time Paul was alive and active in ministry. Travelling and communications were very difficult and risky tasks for him, but that never stopped him from them. We now have the complete Bible; all the books have been written and compiled. We have various translations, in different languages, as well as in a given language. We have various Bible study helps e.g., Commentaries, Dictionaries, Maps, Concordances, and many other resources, both online and offline, the online resources are often free and freely available; besides innumerable Bible Colleges, Seminaries, and other learning facilities. For communication, we need not even travel from one place to another; electronic communication methods have enabled us to communicate across the globe, instantaneously. And of-course, the Holy Spirit is still there with every Christian Believer to help and guide him. The only thing missing in today’s Believers in comparison to Paul, is the will, the desire to be useful for God, the commitment to be God’s faithful steward at any cost. And this one thing is what makes all the difference between Paul’s ministry and ours. How many of us will be able to stand up with Paul and say what he did in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, knowing the end is at hand?

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होना – 1

 

    हमने पिछले लेख में दाऊद द्वारा सुलैमान को 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में दिए गए चार में से पहले निर्देश, पुरुषार्थ कर, की व्याख्या का समापन किया था। हमने यह देखा था कि सुलैमान राजा होने की ज़िम्मेदारियों का ठीक से निर्वाह करते हुए जयवन्त तभी हो सकता था यदि वह साहसी हो कर कार्य करता, और ज़िम्मेदारियों के निर्वाह में उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन के लिए परमेश्वर पर भरोसा बनाए रखता। इसी प्रकार से मसीही विश्वासी भी परमेश्वर के द्वारा उन्हें दी गयी जिम्मेदारियों का सफलता से निर्वाह तब ही कर सकते हैं जब वे परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखें, उसके मार्गदर्शन एवं सहायता के खोजी हों, इन बातों के लिए परमेश्वर ने उन्हें जो संसाधन उपलब्ध करवाएं हैं उन से अवगत हों, उन संसाधनों का सदुपयोग करना सीखें। और उन्हें बाधित तथा निराश करने के लिए, शैतान और उसके शक्तियों के द्वारा उनके विरुद्ध लाई जा रही सभी समस्याओं और परेशानियों के बावजूद, साहसी तथा दृढ़ होकर परमेश्वर के लिए कार्य को करने तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गयी ज़िम्मेदारियों के निर्वाह में लगे रहें।

    दाऊद द्वारा अपने पुत्र सुलैमान को दिया गया दूसरा निर्देश है, “जो कुछ तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने तुझे सौंपा है, उसकी रक्षा कर” (1 राजाओं 2:3a), अर्थात परमेश्वर ने जो तुझे दिया है, या सौंपा है, उसका ध्यान रख, उसका भण्डारी बन। ध्यान कीजिए की यहाँ पर दाऊद किसी विशिष्ट ज़िम्मेदारी का नाम लेकर उसके लिए यह निर्देश नहीं दे रहा है। किन्तु वह एक बहुत व्यापक, सभी बातों को सम्मिलित कर लेने वाला निर्देश दे रहा है – परमेश्वर द्वारा तुझे सौंपी गयी सभी बातों की भली-भाँति देखभाल कर। परमेश्वर का अच्छा भण्डारी होने का अर्थ है परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपे गए की मन लगाकर, और ध्यान से देखभाल करना। दाऊद में होकर पवित्र आत्मा सुलैमान को, जिसे एक स्थिर, शान्त, और समृद्ध राज्य का उत्तराधिकारी बनाया गया था, उसकी ज़िम्मेदारी के विषय सचेत कर रहा था। आरम्भ से ही सुलैमान को इस एहसास के साथ कार्य करना था कि राज्य उसे व्यक्तिगत आनन्द और अपने आप को ऊँचा दिखाने के लिए नहीं सौंपा गया है। बल्कि, उसे एक ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी गई है, कि वह परमेश्वर के लोगों की देखभाल करे, उन्हें सुरक्षित रखे, और परमेश्वर के भय में बढ़ने वाला बनाए, और इस बात को स्वयं सुलैमान ने परमेश्वर से की गई अपनी प्रार्थना में व्यक्त किया है (1 राजाओं 3:7-9)।

    परमेश्वर अपेक्षा करता है कि उसके लोग, जो कुछ भी वह उन्हें देता है, उसकी देखभाल करें, तथा औरों के लाभ के लिए उसका सदुपयोग करें। भंडारीपन के इस सिद्धान्त को हम आरम्भ से ही स्थापित देखते हैं। परमेश्वर ने अदन की वाटिका आदम और हव्वा के लिए लगाई, और फिर आदम को उसकी देखभाल करने की ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी (उत्पत्ति 2:8, 15)। क्योंकि इससे पहले ही परमेश्वर आदम और हव्वा से कह चुका था कि “फूलो-फलो, और पृथ्वी में भर जाओ, और उसको अपने वश में कर लो” (उत्पत्ति 1:28); इसलिए यहाँ पर यह निहित है कि आदम और हव्वा को वाटिका की देखभाल करने थी, तथा उसे अपनी भावी पीढ़ियों के लिए सँवार कर रखना था। नूह को नाव बनाने की ज़िम्मेदारी दी गई, ताकि जो चेतावनी को मानें वे बचाए जा सकें, तथा पृथ्वी पर फिर से जीव-जंतुओं को लाने के लिए उन्हें बचा कर रखे (उत्पत्ति 6:20)। परमेश्वर ने अब्राहम को चुना, उसे आशीष दी, किन्तु साथ ही उसे यह ज़िम्मेदारी भी दी कि उसमें तथा उसके वंशजों में होकर पृथ्वी के सभी लोग आशीष पाएँगे (उत्पत्ति 12:3), अर्थात, अब्राहम और उसके वंशज पृथ्वी के लोगों के लिए परमेश्वर की आशीषों के भण्डारी भी थे। यूसुफ को मिस्र का प्रधान मंत्री बनाया, फिरौन के बाद दूसरा सबसे शक्तिशाली अधिकारी (उत्पत्ति 41:39-44); इतने वर्षों तक दुःख उठाने की क्षतिपूर्ति के लिए नहीं, कि अब मज़े कर ले, मौज मना ले; बल्कि आने वाले भीषण अकाल में लोगों को सुरक्षित रखने की तैयारी के लिए (उत्पत्ति 41:33-39, 46-49)। मूसा को उसकी आनाकानी के बावजूद परमेश्वर ने सामर्थ्य देकर वापस मिस्र में भेजा, किसी व्यक्तिगत लाभ के लिए नहीं बल्कि इस्राएलियों को मिस्र से छुड़ा कर लाने के लिए (निर्गमन 3:10)। जिस भी व्यक्ति को परमेश्वर ने कुछ भी दिया है, उस से परमेश्वर की अपेक्षा रही है कि वह उस बात की अच्छी देखभाल करे तथा औरों की भलाई के लिए उसका सदुपयोग करे।

    नए नियम में भी, अपने बारह प्रेरितों को चुनने के बाद, प्रभु ने उन्हें दी गई सामर्थ्य के साथ प्रचार करने तथा औरों की सेवा करने की सेवकाई के लिए भेजा (मत्ती 10:1, 5-8)। अपने पुनरुत्थान के बाद, जब प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों को नियुक्त किया कि वे सँसार भर में सुसमाचार का प्रचार करें, तो फिर से उन्हें आश्चर्यकर्म करने की सामर्थ्य भी प्रदान की, उनके लाभ के लिए जिन लोगों के मध्य वे सुसमाचार प्रचार की सेवकाई करेंगे (मरकुस 16:15-20)। आज, मसीही विश्वासी प्रभु के भंडारी हैं; उन्हें उसका गवाह बनकर कार्य करना है और उद्धार की ज्योति को सँसार के सामने प्रदर्शित करना है, धूमिल नहीं बल्कि तेज़ी से चमकती हुई, लोगों को आकर्षित करने वाली (मत्ती 5:14-16)।

English Translation

Being God’s Steward - 1

 

    In the previous article, we had concluded the discussion about David’s first instruction to Solomon in 1 Kings 2:2-4, i.e., to be a man. We had seen that Solomon could only handle the responsibilities of being a King and come out successful, if he carried himself courageously and trusted God to help and guide him in fulfilling his responsibilities. Similarly Christian Believers too can fulfil their God given responsibilities successfully, only if they seek and trust God for His help and guidance, are aware of the resources God has given them for this, learn to use those resources, and courageously, resolutely persevere in working for God to fulfil the God given responsibilities despite all the problems and difficulties the satanic forces bring against them to thwart them.

    The second instruction given by David to his son Solomon is “And keep the charge of the Lord your God” (1 Kings 2:3a); i.e., keep a watch over, or, be a custodian of what God has given to you. Notice that David does not specify any particular thing, but gives a very broad-based, all-encompassing instruction – be careful to look after all things that God has entrusted to you. To be a good Steward of God means to properly and diligently keep charge of what God has given. Through David, the Holy Spirit was conveying this responsibility to Solomon, who had inherited a stable, settled, and prosperous kingdom. Solomon since outset was to realize that the kingdom was not being handed over to him for personal enjoyment and self-exaltation. Rather, he was being given a responsibility, to look after the people of God, keep them safe, and growing in the fear of the Lord, as he expresses in his prayer to God (1 Kings 3:7-9).

    God expects His people to respect, take care of, and properly utilize all that He gives to them, for the benefit of others. We see this principle of stewardship established since the very beginning. God planted the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve, and then gave Adam the charge of taking care of it (Genesis 2:8, 15). Since God had already told Adam and Eve to “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it” (Genesis 1:28); therefore, it is implied here that Adam and Eve had to look after the Garden and maintain it for their future generations. Noah was given the charge of preparing the Ark to save those who would heed the warning, and to preserve the animals to repopulate the earth (Genesis 6:20). Abraham was chosen by God, was blessed, but was also given the charge that through him and his generations, all people of the earth were to receive God’s blessings (Genesis 12:3). In other words, Abraham and his descendants were also stewards of God’s blessings for all the people of the earth. Joseph was made the Prime Minister of Egypt, the second most powerful officer in Egypt after the Pharaoh (Genesis 41:39-44), not as a compensation for all that he had suffered, to enjoy and gratify himself; but to prepare for and preserve the people in the days of severe famine that was to come (Genesis 41:33-39, 46-49). Moses, despite his reluctance, was empowered by God and sent back to the Pharaoh, not for any personal gain but to deliver the Israelites from Egypt (Exodus 3:10). Every person whom God gave anything, God also expected from them that His gift would be appropriately taken care of and utilized for the benefit of others.

    In the New Testament as well, soon after selecting His twelve Apostles, when the Lord empowered them, He also sent them out to minister to others with the gifts He had given them (Matthew 10:1, 5-8). After His resurrection, when the Lord commissioned His disciples to go into the world to preach the gospel, He again empowered them to work miracles for the benefit of the people they were to minister amongst (Mark 16:15-20). The Christian Believers today, are Lord’s stewards; they are to function as His witnesses and show forth the light of salvation to the world, not dimly but bright and shining all around, attracting others (Matthew 5:14-16).

    We will continue to see and learn about the various aspects of our stewardship in the next few articles. If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था की यद्यपि परमेश्वर ने हमें किसी भी परिस्थिति में से जयवंत होकर निकल पाने के लिए सभी आवश्यक संसाधन उपलब्ध करवाए हैं, और साथ ही वह स्वयं भी हमारी सहायता एवं मार्गदर्शन के लिए हमारे साथ-साथ बना रहता है, लेकिन फिर भी अधिकांश मसीही विश्वासी परेशानियों का सामना करने से, या परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता और अपनी बुलाहट का निर्वाह करने के लिए कष्ट उठाने से कतराते हैं। बल्कि उनकी प्रवृत्ति “विश्वास की प्रार्थनाओं” के पीछे छिपने की होती है। वे यही चाहते हैं कि या तो परिस्थिति उनके सामने से हटा ली जाए, या उन्हें परिस्थिति में से निकाल लिया जाए, या इस से भी बदतर यह कि वे अपने आप को परिस्थिति का सामना करने के लिए अक्षम घोषित करते हैं, और परमेश्वर से कहते हैं कि वह ही उनके स्थान पर उस कार्य को, उनके लिए कर दे। किन्तु बाइबल तथा सामान्य जीवन में से परमेश्वर के लोगों के जीवनों के उदाहरण इस तरह से “विश्वास की प्रार्थनाओं” के पीछे छिपने और इन मन-गढ़ंत तरीकों द्वारा जिम्मेदारियों के निर्वाह से बचने के प्रयास करने का कोई समर्थन नहीं करते हैं।

    थोड़ा विचार कीजिए, यह कहना कि “मेरे लिए यह कर पाना संभव नहीं है”, या, यह प्रार्थना करना कि “प्रभु मैं यह नहीं कर सकता हूँ, इसलिए आप ही मेरे लिए इसे करें”, वास्तव में परमेश्वर पर अविश्वास करना है, उसके द्वारा इन बातों और परिस्थितियों के लिए हमें प्रदान किए गए संसाधनों एवं क्षमताओं के बावजूद उनके हमें उपलब्ध होने का इनकार करना है, यह उसके सदा हमारे साथ बने रहने और हमेशा हमारी सहायता करने के आश्वासन को झूठा ठहराना है, यह परमेश्वर की सहायता के स्थान पर अपनी अक्षमताओं पर अधिक विश्वास रखना है, और ऐसा करने के कारण शैतान की युक्तियों का शिकार बनना है। ऐसा करने की बजाए, जब भी शैतान हमें हताश करके असहाय तथा हारा हुआ समझने के लिए उकसाता है, मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर से फिलिप्पियों 4:13 को माँगना चाहिए, उस पर भरोसा करते हुए अपने कार्य के लिए विश्वास के साथ आगे बढ़ना चाहिए।

    जब भी यह प्रलोभन आए कि हम परमेश्वर से कहें कि वही हमारे स्थान पर हमारे लिए कुछ करे, तब हमें यह ध्यान करना चाहिए कि पवित्र आत्मा जो हम में निवास करता है, उसे हमारा सहायक होने के लिए दिया गया है, न कि हमारे स्थान पर हमारे काम करने के लिए। वह हमारी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करेगा, आगे बढ़ने का मार्ग बताएगा, किन्तु हमारे स्थान पर हमारी ज़िम्मेदारियों को पूरा नहीं करेगा। हमें अपने कमजोरियों और प्रार्थनाओं के पीछे छिपने की बजाए परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की आवाज़ और मार्गदर्शन के प्रति संवेदनशील तथा आज्ञाकारी होना पड़ेगा। जब तक कि हम आगे बढ़कर, पुरुषार्थ दिखाकर, अपने दायित्व, अपने कार्य को पूरा नहीं करेंगे, हमारा काम अधूरा और अपूर्ण ही बना रहेगा। परमेश्वर ने जो हमारे करने के लिए तय किया है, हमें पूरा करने के लिए सौंपा है, वह केवल हम ही कर सकते हैं, उसका हम ही निर्वाह कर सकते हैं; हमारे स्थान पर कोई और उसे नहीं करेगा।

    ध्यान कीजिए, जिस प्रकार से किसी भी सांसारिक काम में पदोन्नति दिए जाने से पहले जांचना और परखना होता है, उसी तरह से आशीषें मिलने से पहले, मसीही विश्वासी को भी परीक्षाओं से होकर निकलना पड़ता है, अगले स्तर के लिए तैयार होना पड़ता है; तब ही और अधिक आशीष मिलती है। इसलिए, हम या तो इन परीक्षाओं और परिस्थितियों को अवसर और चुनौती के रूप में लेकर जीवन, विश्वास, और आशीषों में और बढ़ते जा सकते हैं; या हम उनके लिए कुड़कुड़ाते रह सकते हैं, परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध शिकायत करने वाले बन सकते हैं, और परमेश्वर की आशीषें पाने के अवसरों को गँवा सकते हैं। जब हम इन परिस्थितियों और अवसरों का उपयोग सँसार के सामने मसीही जीवन की गवाही को रखने के लिए करते हैं, हम पृथ्वी पर परमेश्वर की महिमा तथा स्वर्ग में अपने लिए अनन्त काल के लिए आशीष अर्जित करते हैं।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being a Man - 5

 

    In the previous article we have seen that although God has given us all the resources that we need to come through any situation victoriously, and He Himself is with us to help and guide us through, yet most Christian Believers tend to shy away from facing the difficulties, or to take the pain of obeying God and fulfilling their calling. Instead, they have a tendency to try to hide behind “prayer of faith” to either have the situation removed from them, or remove them from the situation; or even worse, to step back and say that they are incapable of facing the situation or fulfilling the responsibility, therefore, God should take over and do it for them. But examples of people of God from the Bible, as well as in real life, lend no support to either of these contrived ways of escaping by hiding behind “prayers of faith” and avoiding the fulfilling of responsibilities.

    Come to think of it, to say, "I cannot do it", or to pray that "Lord, I am incapable, therefore, you do it for me", is actually disbelieving God, is blatantly denying the resources and capabilities God has provided to us, is denying His ever-present help and assurances, instead it is trusting our own inabilities, and thereby falling prey to Satan's devices. Rather, when Satan tries to overwhelm us by making us fall prey to such defeatist attitudes and feelings, we should claim Philippians 4:13, and then move ahead in faith.

    When tempted to back away and ask God to do the work for us, we should remember that the Holy Spirit residing in us has been given to us to be our helper, not our substitute. He will help and guide us, show us the way forward, but He will not do our work for us. We have to learn to be sensitive to the voice and be obedient to God the Holy Spirit’s instructions, instead of hiding behind our weaknesses and prayer. Till we step up to the task and fulfill it under His guidance, it will remain incomplete, unfulfilled. What God has kept for us to do, for us to fulfill, can only be done and fulfilled by us, and no one else.

    Remember, like before every promotion in the world there is an evaluation or an assessment. Similarly, before every blessing, there are trials and every Christian Believer has to clear them to rise up to the next level, to be blessed even more. So, we can either take our trials as challenges and opportunities to rise higher in faith, blessings and life; or else we can grumble about them, complain against God for them, and loose our God given opportunity for gaining His blessings. When we use these situations and problems to show a Christian witness to the world, to glorify God on earth, we gain eternal blessings.

    हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि एक मसीही विश्वासी को, अपनी बुलाहट का निर्वाह करने के लिए, परमेश्वर से आशीषित और सफल होने के लिए, और अपने जीवन के द्वारा उसकी महिमा करने के लिए सीखना होगा कि सभी परिस्थितियों का सामना साहस के साथ, पुरुषार्थ करते हुए करे, यह जानते हुए कि उसके जीवन में जो कुछ भी होगा वह परमेश्वर की अनुमति और उसके द्वारा निर्धारित सीमा के अन्दर ही होगा। हमारे जीवन में चाहे जो भी परिस्थिति आए, परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए हमें पहले से ही उपयुक्त संसाधन दे रखे हैं कि हम उस स्थिति का भली-भांति सामना कर सकें। दाऊद सुलैमान को यही बात सिखा रहा है – पुरुषार्थ करना सीख और ठान ले, विपरीत परिस्थितियों के मध्य में भी विश्वास में दृढ़ होकर खड़ा रह और साहसी हो कर हर बात का सामना कर। परमेश्वर में भरोसा बनाए रख, और ध्यान करता रह कि परमेश्वर ने पहले भी किस प्रकार से सहायता की है (1 शमूएल 17:37)।

    परमेश्वर के लोगों में बहुधा यह प्रवृत्ति देखी जाती है, कि परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए संसाधनों और सहायता के सहारे खड़े होकर परिस्थितियों का सामना करने की बजाए, वे “विश्वास की प्रार्थनाओं” के पीछे छिपना चाहते हैं। उनकी यही प्रार्थना होती है कि या तो परमेश्वर उनके लिए उन परिस्थितियों को हटा दे, या उन्हें उन परिस्थितियों से बाहर निकाल ले। इससे भी बढ़कर उनकी यह गलत प्रवृत्ति भी होती है कि वे परमेश्वर के आगे यह विनती करते रहते हैं कि वे तो इन परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के लिए अक्षम हैं, इसलिए परमेश्वर स्वयं ही उनके लिए, उनके स्थान पर, उन परिस्थितियों का सामना कर ले। लेकिन वास्तविकता यही है कि मसीही विश्वासी इस प्रकार से प्रार्थनाओं के पीछे नहीं छुप सकते हैं, ऐसे बहाना बनाकर अपने आप को बचा नहीं सकते हैं, और अपने स्थान पर परमेश्वर को उनकी ज़िम्मेदारी पूरी करने के लिए नहीं कह सकते हैं। जयवन्त और आशीषित होने के लिए, उन्हें उन परिस्थितियों में से सक्रिय होकर जाना ही पड़ेगा। ऐसा संभव नहीं है कि विश्वासी प्रार्थना कर लें कि परमेश्वर हमारे लिए परिस्थिति का सामना कर ले, और फिर वे स्वयं आराम से घर पर बैठ जाएँ, इस प्रतीक्षा में कि परमेश्वर उनके लिए काम को करके दे देगा। इस संबंध में परमेश्वर के वचन में से कुछ उदाहरणों को देखिए:

• जब यहोशू के नेतृत्व में अमालेकियों के साथ इस्राएलियों का युद्ध हो रहा था, तब युद्ध की स्थिति का निर्धारण मूसा के प्रार्थना में उठे हुए हाथों से हो रहा था (निर्गमन 17:10-13)। किन्तु फिर भी उन इस्राएलियों को वहाँ युद्ध-भूमि पर विद्यमान रहना और युद्ध करते रहना अनिवार्य था। इस्राएली केवल मूसा की प्रार्थनाओं और उठे हुए हाथों में युद्ध को छोड़ कर अपनी विजय की प्रतीक्षा करते हुए, आराम से छावनी में नहीं बैठ सकते थे।

• परमेश्वर ने यहोशू को कनान पर विजय प्राप्त करने के लिए भेजने से पहले यही निर्देश दिए थे की वह साहसी, सामर्थी, और आज्ञाकारी बना रहे (यहोशू 1:5-9)। उसका विजयी होना और योग्य रीति से इस्राएलियों का नेतृत्व करना इस बात पर निर्भर था कि वह इस्राएलियों का नेतृत्व करते हुए व्यक्तिगत रीति से कितना साहस दिखाता है और विश्वास में कितना आज्ञाकारी रहता है। यहोशू तब ही पराजित हुआ जब उसने परमेश्वर से पूछे बिना, अपनी ही बुद्धि के सहारे कार्य किया, जैसे कि ऐ (यहोशू 7 अध्याय) और गिब्बोनियों (यहोशू 9 अध्याय) के बारे में हुआ, तब ही उसे पराजय का सामना करना पड़ा।

• राजा यहोशापात को परमेश्वर की और से आश्वस्त किया गया था कि युद्ध उसका नहीं है, बल्कि परमेश्वर का है; लेकिन फिर भी उसे अपनी सेना को लेकर युद्ध भूमि में विद्यमान रहना था (2 इतिहास 20:15-17)। उसे आराम से घर बैठकर परमेश्वर के द्वारा काम पूरा किए जाने की प्रतीक्षा नहीं करनी थी।

• पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, पौलुस ने तिमुथियुस को भी यही निर्देश दिए – कि दृढ़, साहसी, और आज्ञाकारी बना रहे, और दुःख उठाकर भी अपनी सेवकाई को पूरा करे (2 तिमुथियुस 1:8, 4:1-5)।

 

    आज हमारे लिए, इन बढ़ते हुए विरोध और सताव के समयों में, हमें यह स्मरण रखने की आवश्यकता है कि परमेश्वर ही, अपनी योजना में, हमें ऐसे समयों में संसार में लाया है, और जहाँ पर हम हैं, वहाँ पर, तथा इन समयों और परिस्थितियों में रखा है। इसलिए, यह स्वतः ही प्रगट है कि उसने न केवल हमें इन परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के योग्य किया है, उनके लिए उचित और उपयुक्त योग्यता, क्षमता, और बुद्धिमानी प्रदान की है, बल्कि वह स्वयं भी हमेशा ही हमारे साथ बना रहता है, हमें जिस भी बात का सामना करना पड़े उसमें हमारी सहायता करने और हमारा मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए; वह हमें कभी अकेला या असुरक्षित नहीं छोड़ता है।

    इसलिए परमेश्वर के लोगों को पुरुषार्थ के साथ खड़े होने और साहस के साथ परिस्थितियों का सामना करने के लिए तैयार बने रहना चाहिए। विरोध और सताव के इन समयों में भी जिन में परमेश्वर हमें इस सँसार में ले कर आया है, जिन में हमें जीवन जीना है, हमें परमेश्वर पर अपना भरोसा बनाए रखना है।

Being a Man - 4

 

    We have seen in the previous article that a Christian Believer, to fulfill his calling, to be successful and blessed by God, and glorify Him through his life, has to learn and accept to face all situations courageously, in a manly manner, knowing that whatever comes in his life is with the permission of God, and to the extent that God has allowed. For all the situations that come our way, God has also already given beforehand to us the resources and ability to manage the situation. That is what David is instructing Solomon - learn and resolve to be a man, in the midst of adverse situations stand firm in the faith and handle everything bravely, having faith in God, and recalling how God has helped in the past (1 Samuel 17:37).

One very common tendency seen amongst God’s children is that instead of standing up and facing the situations through the help of the God given resources, they tend to hide behind “prayers of faith” for God to either remove those situations for them, or else to remove them from those situations; or even worse, they often plead their inability to manage the situation and ask God to handle the situation for them. But the fact of the matter is that a Christian Believer cannot just hide behind prayers, excuse himself, and ask God to do things for them instead. To be victorious and blessed, one has to be present in the situations and be active in them. The Believers, having prayed for God to manage the situation, should not be resting at home, and waiting for God to sort out the situation for them. Consider some examples from God’s Word:

• Though it was the prayers and lifted hands of Moses that were deciding the fate of Israel's battle against the Amalekites, the Israelites under Joshua had to be in the battlefield and physically be fighting to defeat them (Exodus 17:10-13). The Israelites could not just hand the battle over to Moses for prayer and God for action, and sit back in their camp, waiting for the outcome of the battle in their favor.

• To Joshua also, before sending him to conquer Canaan, God gave the same instructions that he had to be strong, courageous, and obedient (Joshua 1:5-9). His being victorious and leading the Israelites worthily, depended upon how courageously and in faith he personally behaved as the leader of the Israelites. Joshua faced defeat only when he stopped consulting God and relied on his own wisdom and thinking, as happened in the incidents of Ai (Joshua chapter 7) and the Gibeonites (Joshua chapter 9).

• To Jeremiah, when informing him of being appointed God’s spokes-person for Israelites, God said not to worry about his age, nor be afraid of the people, but just be faithful to say and do whatever God told him to say and do (Jeremiah 1:6-8; Jeremiah 1:17-19). Life and ministry were not easy for Jeremiah; he had to face a lot of opposition and sufferings, but his “being a man” and striving faithfully for God have given him an honorable place in God’s Word for eternity.

• King Jehoshaphat was assured that the battle was not his, but God's; yet he had to be present and position his army in the battlefield (2 Chronicles 20:15-17). He could not just casually sit back and wait for God to do things for him.

• To Timothy also, through the Holy Spirit, Paul gave the same instructions - to be strong, and courageous, and obedient and fulfill his ministry even while suffering for it (2 Timothy 1:8; 4:1-5).

    For us, today, in these times of increasing opposition and persecution, we need to remember that it is God, who in His plans, has brought us into this world and placed us in the places that we are in these times, in these situations. Therefore, it goes without saying that He not only has made us capable of handling the situations, having given us the required abilities and wisdom to face and overcome the situations, but He is also there with us to help and guide us in whatever we face, never leaving us alone or unprotected.

    Therefore, God's people have to learn to stand up like a man and face situations bravely, in faith, in these testing times the time that God has brought us into this world, and the time that we have been given to live through.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि समस्याएं और विपरीत परिस्थितियाँ मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन का अभिन्न अंग हैं, और उन से बचने का कोई तरीका नहीं है। हमने लेख का अन्त यह कहने के साथ किया था कि शैतान हमेशा ही मसीहियों पर मुसीबतें और समस्याएँ लाता ही रहता है। ऐसा वह न केवल उनके लिए जीवन को कठिन बनाने के लिए करता है, वरन इसलिए भी कि उन्हें उनकी आशीषों और प्रतिफलों में कुछ हानि हो, तथा साथ ही उनकी गवाही को भी बिगाड़ सके जिससे कि लोग उनका अनुसरण न करें, मसीह में विश्वास नहीं करें और उद्धार प्राप्त न कर सकें। इसलिए, मसीही विश्वासियों को निरन्तर प्रयास में लगे रहना चाहिए कि विश्वास के अपने जीवन को जी कर दिखाएँ, इसके लिए पुरुषार्थ करें, तथा परमेश्वर की सहायता से आशीषित और सफल हों, तथा उनके जीवनों से परमेश्वर को महिमा मिले।

    लेकिन, बहुधा यह प्रश्न उठाया जाता है, खास कर तब जब परिस्थितियाँ विकट हों, कि परमेश्वर मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में इन समस्याओं और विपरीत परिस्थितियों को आने ही क्यों देता है? क्यों परमेश्वर शैतान की इन युक्तियों और हमलों को हम से दूर नहीं रखता है? जब भी हम इस प्रश्न का सामना करें, तो हमें हमेशा यह याद रखना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर की संतान के जीवन में बिना प्रभु परमेश्वर की इच्छा और अनुमति के कुछ नहीं हो सकता है; और उतना ही हो सकता है, जितने की परमेश्वर अनुमति देता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13); और अन्ततः, सभी बातों के द्वारा, परमेश्वर ने कुछ भले ही की योजना बनाई है जो उसकी संतान के लाभ ही के लिए है (रोमियों 8:28)।

जब भी हम अपने जीवन और सम्बन्धित समस्याओं को लेकर परेशान हों, तो हमें हमेशा ध्यान करना चाहिए कि:

·        हमारा सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर हम से बेहतर जानता है कि हमारी योग्यताएँ तथा क्षमताएँ क्या हैं; हम किसे सीमा तक बर्दाश्त कर सकते हैं, सामना कर सकते हैं। परमेश्वर हमारे जीवनों में उतनी ही सीमा तक संघर्षों और समस्याओं को आने देता है, जिस सीमा तक हम व्यक्तिगत रीति से उनका सामना कर सकते हैं।

·        हम जब भी किसी भी परिस्थिति का सामना करें, तो यह ध्यान रखें कि सफलता पूर्वक उनमें से होकर हमें निकालने के लिए परमेश्वर हमेशा हमारे साथ रहता है (निर्गमन 4:12; मत्ती 10:19-20)।

·        परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों के चारों और एक बाड़ा बाँधा है और शैतान उसे न तो तोड़ सकता है और न उसके अन्दर जा सकता है; वह तब ही हमारी हानि कर सकता है, जब हम बाड़े से बाहर आएँ, और तब भी उतनी ही सीमा तक जितना परमेश्वर अनुमति देता है (अय्यूब 1:10; 2:6)।

·        परमेश्वर कभी भी शैतान को हम पर ऐसी कोई बात नहीं लाने देगा, जिसका सफलता पूर्वक सामना करने के लिए परमेश्वर ने हमें पहले से ही योग्य नहीं बना रखा है, और जिसके लिए उचित और उपयुक्त सामर्थ्य, योग्यता, और बुद्धिमानी प्रदान नहीं कर रखी है (दानिय्येल 3:17; 2 तिमुथियुस 4:18; 2 पतरस 2:9)।

·        अन्ततः, ये संघर्ष विभिन्न प्रकार से हमारा अभ्यास करवाने के द्वारा, हमारे लिए भलाई और आशीष ही उत्पन्न करते हैं (यिर्मयाह 29:11; 2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17; रोमियों 5:3-5; रोमियों 8:28), तथा औरों के सामने परमेश्वर की देखभाल तथा सुरक्षा का उदाहरण बनते हैं।

 

    इसलिए हमें समस्याओं और परिस्थितियों को सही रवैये के साथ स्वीकार करना सीखना चाहिए। जो भी परमेश्वर ने हमारे जीवनों में आ लेने दिया है, जो भी वह हम से करने के लिए कह रहा है, उसमें हमें हमेशा ही परमेश्वर पर भरोसा बनाए रखना चाहिए; यह जानते हुए कि उसने हमें पहले से ही उसका सामना करने के लिए उचित एवं उपयुक्त सामर्थ्य तथा आवश्यक संसाधन दे रखे हैं। ये समस्याएं और परिस्थितियाँ परमेश्वर से हमें मिलने वाले प्रतिफलों एवं महिमा तक पहुँचने के लिए हमारी सीढ़ियाँ हैं। और इन में होकर परमेश्वर न केवल हमें आशीष प्रदान करेगा, बल्कि मसीही जीवन में उन्नति करने में भी हमारी सहायता करेगा।

    परमेश्वर की विश्वासयोग्यता के पाठ परेशानियों में ही सबसे अच्छे से सीखे जाते हैं। हम मत्ती 14:24-31 में देखते हैं कि पतरस को पानी पर चलने के लिए अनुमति देने से पहले परमेश्वर ने तूफ़ान और लहरों को शांत नहीं किया। बल्कि, उसी तूफान में ही पतरस को पानी पर चलने के लिए कहा – एक असंभव प्रतीत होने वाले कार्य को करने के लिए कहा। और जब तक पतरस प्रभु को देखता रहा, उस तूफ़ान में भी पानी पर चलता रहा; वह तब ही डूबने लगा जब उसने अपनी आँखें प्रभु से हटा कर तूफ़ान पर लगाईं। लूका 19 अध्याय में, अपनी व्यक्तिगत सीमाओं के बावजूद, ज़क्कई ने ठान लिया था कि वह कैसे भी हो, प्रभु यीशु को अवश्य ही देखेगा। उसने पुरुषार्थ दिखाया, परिश्रम किया, और न केवल सफल रहा, बल्कि प्रभु द्वारा आशीष भी प्राप्त की, उसका जीवन बदल गया, और आज भी वह औरों को प्रभु की और आकर्षित करता है।

    हमें इस बात का एहसास करना चाहिए और उसे सीखना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर हमारे लिए परिस्थितियों को बदल कर उन्हें आसान और सहने योग्य नहीं कर देता है; बल्कि वह हमें बदलता है, वह हमें परिस्थितियों का सामना करने और उन पर जयवंत होने के योग्य बना देता है। यह करने के द्वारा वह हमें दिखाता है कि हम क्या कुछ करने की क्षमता रखते हैं, परमेश्वर की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन से हम कितने महान काम कर सकते हैं। बस हमें पुरुषार्थ करने और अपने मसीही विश्वास के जीवनों में जयवन्त होने के लिए परिश्रम करने वाला होना चाहिए।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being a Man - 3

 

    In the previous article we had seen that problems and adverse situations are a part of life for the Christian Believer, and there is no escaping from them for him. We had closed the article by saying that Satan always keeps bringing trouble and problems upon Christians, not only to make life difficult for them, but to also try and cause harm to their rewards, as well as to spoil their testimony so that others may be prevented from emulating them in coming to faith in Christ Jesus and being saved. Therefore, the Christian Believers need to constantly be striving to live out their life of Faith and be manly for doing this, and to be blessed and successful from God, and to glorify God through our lives.

    But then, one is often tempted to ask, more so when in daunting circumstances, why does God allow these problems and adverse situations in a Christian Believer’s life? Why does God not keep these satanic ploys and attacks away from us? When faced with this question, we should keep in mind that nothing happens in the life of a child of God without the permission and outside the will of the Lord, and then, only to the extent He allows (1 Corinthians 10:13), and eventually through them all, God has planned something good and beneficial for His child (Romans 8:28).

    When perplexed about our life and problems, we should always keep in mind that:

• Our creator God knows better than us what our abilities and capabilities are; how much we can face and handle. God allows these struggles and problems in our lives, only to the extent that we as individuals can handle them.

• When we are facing any situations, God is always there to help us go through them (Exodus 4:12; Matthew 10:19-20).

• God has put a hedge around His people and Satan cannot breach or cross it; he can only do harm if we come out of that hedge, and to the extent that God permits him to do (Job 1:10; 2:6).

• God will never permit Satan to bring upon us anything that God has not already made us capable of tackling, and has not already given us the strength, ability, and wisdom to handle (Daniel 3:17; 2 Timothy 4:18; 2 Peter 2:9).

• Eventually, these struggles, by exercising us in various ways, serve to work for our benefit and blessings (Jeremiah 29:11; 2 Corinthians 4:17; Romans 5:3-5; Romans 8:28), and as examples of God’s care and security for others.

    Therefore, we must learn to accept and take the problems and situations with the right attitude. We must keep trusting that what God has allowed in our lives, whatever He is asking us to do, He already has made us capable of managing that situation and has provided the required resources as well. These problems and situations are our stepping stones to glory and rewards from God. And through them not only will God bless us, but will also help us grow in our Christian life.

    Lessons of God's faithfulness are learnt best when facing adversities. In Matthew 14:24-31, Lord Jesus did not calm the storm and waves before asking Peter to walk on water. Rather, He asked Peter to walk on the water - do the seemingly impossible, in that storm. And Peter, so long as he was looking at the Lord, walked on the water, in the storm; it was only when Peter started looking at the storm instead of the Lord Jesus, that he started to sink. In Luke 19 Zacchaeus despite his personal limitations decided to see Jesus any which way he could. He strove to do it like a man, and was not only successful, but was also blessed by the Lord, his life was changed, and even today he is attracting people to the Lord.

    We must realize and learn that the Lord God does not change the situations for us to make them easy and tolerable for us; instead, He changes us, He makes us capable of facing and overcoming the situations. Through this, He shows us what all we are actually capable of doing, and how great things we can accomplish through the help and guidance of God, if we are willing to be a man and strive to be victorious in our Christian lives.
