व्यवस्था क्यों हमें उद्धार नहीं दे सकती है? - 3
मनुष्य, अपने आप से, शैतान के सामने असमर्थ है - 1
पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा था कि एकमात्र जो भला है (मरकुस 10:18), अर्थात परमेश्वर के द्वारा अपनी व्यवस्था, मनुष्यों को देने के बाद भी न तो मनुष्य उसका पालन कर सका, और न ही उसके द्वारा भला बन सका। इसके दो मुख्य कारण हैं, पहला है मनुष्य का इसके लिए अक्षम होना और दूसरा है कि व्यवस्था मनुष्य को भला बनाने के लिए कभी दी ही नहीं गई थी (बाइबल में अनेकों स्थानों पर व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा जीवन मिलने की बात को हम आगे के लेखों में देखेंगे और समझेंगे)। व्यवस्था तो परमेश्वर की भलाई, धार्मिकता, और पवित्रता का मानक होने, और इन के स्तर की पहचान करने का पैमाना होने के लिए दी गई थी। हमने यह भी देखा था कि न तो वे जिनके पास व्यवस्था थी, अर्थात परमेश्वर की चुनी हुई प्रजा, यहूदी या इस्राएली लोग; और न ही संसार के अन्य-जाति लोग, अर्थात वे जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने उनके मन के अनुसार करने के लिए छोड़ दिया, यद्यपि उनके समक्ष अपनी सृष्टि में अपनी पहचान को बनाए रखा और उन्हें उसे समझने की बुद्धि भी दी (रोमियों 1:20; भजन 19:1-4); दोनों में से कोई भी अपने किसी भी प्रयास से धर्मी नहीं बन सका, दोनों ही समान रीति से असफल रहे।
यह एक प्रकट तथ्य है कि मनुष्य अपनी किसी भी सामर्थ्य या युक्ति से, यहाँ तक कि अपनी भक्ति से भी, और परमेश्वर के साथ मेल-मिलाप होने के बाद भी केवल अपने आप से ही शैतान का सफलता से सामना नहीं कर सकता है। शैतान पर वह तब ही विजयी होता है जब वह परमेश्वर की सहायता, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता और मार्गदर्शन में रहता है, तथा शैतान और उसकी बातों का सामना परमेश्वर के द्वारा बताए गए मार्ग के अनुसार करता है। किन्तु जब भी प्रभु के लोग भी, अर्थात, उद्धार पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी भी, परमेश्वर के मार्गों, शिक्षाओं, और आज्ञाओं के बाहर जाते हैं, वे शैतान की युक्तियों में फंस कर पाप कर देते हैं। वे जब भी अपने शरीर की या पुराने मनुष्यत्व की प्रवृत्ति में होकर व्यवहार करते हैं, उन्हें शैतान से हार का सामना करना पड़ता है। उद्धार पाने के बाद, जब भी हम पवित्र आत्मा के चलाए नहीं चलते हैं, वचन के अनाज्ञाकारी होते हैं, शैतान का हम पर दाँव चल जाता है - जो सुरक्षा का बाड़ा तोड़कर बाहर निकलता है, सांप उसे डस लेता है (सभोपदेशक 10:8)।
इसके विषय परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में से, परमेश्वर के लोगों के जीवन के कुछ उदाहरणों को देखते हैं:
अदन की वाटिका में आदम और हव्वा निष्पाप, निष्कलंक दशा में थे, परमेश्वर के साथ संगति रखते थे, बातचीत करते थे। किन्तु उस पवित्रता की स्थित में भी, जैसे ही आदम और हव्वा ने परमेश्वर की बात के स्थान पर शैतान की बात सुनी, वे और उनकी भावी संतान, सारी मानव जाति पाप में गिर गए (रोमियों 5:12)।
अब्राहम ने परमेश्वर की बात पर भरोसा बनाए रखने की बजाए, अपनी पत्नी की अधीरता और योजना के अनुसार कार्य किया, और इश्माएल उत्पन्न किया, जिसका परिणाम आज तक इस्राएली लोग भुगत रहे हैं।
परमेश्वर की स्तुति और आराधना के अनेकों भजनों का लिखने वाले, परमेश्वर के मन के अनुसार व्यक्ति, दाऊद ने अपने सैनिकों के साथ उनके नेतृत्व के लिए युद्ध भूमि में होने के स्थान पर, घर पर ही रहना पसंद किया, दूसरे के घर में झाँका, शरीर की अभिलाषाओं की अधीनता में होकर कार्य किया और व्यभिचार तथा हत्या के पाप का दोषी हो गया (2 शमूएल 11:1-17)।
दो बार परमेश्वर का दर्शन पाने वाले और नीतिवचन लिखने वाले संसार के सबसे बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति, राजा सुलैमान ने परमेश्वर के वचन के विरुद्ध, शरीर की अभिलाषाओं के अनुसार कार्य किया, अन्य-जाति स्त्रियों को बहुतायत से ब्याह लाया, और मूर्तिपूजा के पाप में गिर गया (1 राजाओं 11:1-13) और अपने वंश तथा इस्राएल की प्रजा के लिए परेशानी उत्पन्न कर ली।
उज्जिय्याह लड़कपन में यहूदा का राजा बना, और जब तक परमेश्वर के मार्गों पर चलता रहा, परमेश्वर ने उसे आशीषित और भाग्यवान बनाए रखा; किन्तु जैसे ही घमण्ड में आकर उसने परमेश्वर की विधि को तोड़ा, और चिताए जाने पर भी नहीं सुधरा, तो उसे भारी ताड़ना का समाना करना पड़ा (2 इतिहास 26 अध्याय पढ़िए)।
हनन्याह और सफीरा ने लालच किया और अपने प्राण गँवा दिए (प्रेरितों 5:1-11)।
जब प्रेरित पतरस ने मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने और उन्हें दिखाने के अनुसार कार्य करना आरंभ किया, वह दोगले होने के पाप में गिर गया (गलातियों 2:11-13)।
प्रेरित पौलुस ने क्रोध और आवेश में आकर प्रतिशोध लेने का काम किया, धैर्य नहीं रखा, परमेश्वर की इच्छा जानने के बजाए अपनी इच्छा पूरी करनी चाही, और अपने दो घनिष्ठ साथियों बरनबास तथा मरकुस से अलग हो गया (प्रेरितों 15:36-39)।
अर्थात, परमेश्वर के भक्त और समर्पित लोग भी, यदि परमेश्वर के वचन, आज्ञाकारिता, और उसकी सुरक्षा के बाहर जाकर यदि कुछ करते हैं, तो शैतान तुरन्त ही उन्हें किसी न किसी रीति से पाप में गिरा देता है। अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि मनुष्य, उद्धार पाने और प्रभु के साथ जुड़ जाने के बावजूद, शैतान बहुधा उस पर विजयी हो जाता है।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Man, on his own, is Incapable of Overcoming Satan - 1
In the previous articles we have seen that though the only One who is good, i.e., God (Mark 10:18), gave his Law to man, still man could neither fulfill it, nor could man become good through it. There are two main reasons for this, the first is that man is inherently incapable of fulfilling it; and the second is that the Law was never given to make man good (we will look into and understand about getting life through the observance of the Law, as is written in many places in the Bible, in the later articles). The Law was given to show the standard of God's goodness, righteousness, and holiness, and for it to be the measuring-scale, the yardstick to show where man stands vis-à-vis God's goodness, righteousness, and holiness. We also saw that neither those who had the Law, i.e., God's chosen people, the Israelites, the Jews; nor the Gentiles, i.e., the rest of the people of the world, i.e., those whom God gave the freedom to do according to their own will and understanding - though He placed before them His evidences about Himself in His creation, and also gave them the wisdom to understand them (Romans 1:20; Psalm 19:1-4); yet, neither of them could become righteous by any of their efforts, both equally failed to measure up to God’s righteousness.
It is an evident fact that man cannot successfully confront and overcome Satan on his own; not by any of his powers or devices; not even by his godliness, and neither all by himself even after being reconciled into fellowship with God. He is victorious over Satan only when he has God's help and guidance, through obedience to Him, and confronts Satan in the manner God has shown him to do. But whenever God's people, even the saved Christians, step out of God's ways, teachings, and commandments, they inevitably fall into Satan's traps, and commit sin. Whenever they live according to the desires of their flesh or of the ‘old man’, they face certain defeat from Satan. After we are saved, if we do not walk according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, are disobedient to God’s Word, we succumb to Satan’s devious tactics – the one who breaks out of the safety wall is bitten by the snake (Ecclesiastes 10:8).
Let us look at some examples from the lives of God's people, as given in the Word of God:
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were in a sinless, faultless state, and were in fellowship with God, conversing with Him. But even in that state of holiness, as soon as Adam and Eve listened to Satan instead of God, they fell into sin and dragged their future offspring, all of mankind into sin too (Romans 5:12).
Abraham, instead of trusting God's Word, acted in accordance with his wife's instructions because of her impatience and plan, and fathered Ishmael; the consequences, the Israelites are suffering to this day, through the descendents of Ishmael (Genesis 16:12).
David, the man after God's own heart, and the renowned Psalmist of many hymns of praise and worship of God, chose to stay at home, rather than being on the battlefield to lead his soldiers, peeped into another’s home, fell prey to the desires of the flesh and ended up guilty of the sins of adultery and murder (2 Samuel 11:1-17).
The wisest man on earth and the author of Proverbs, who twice had visions from God, King Solomon; even he did not according to his God given wisdom, but the desires of the flesh. He married many Gentile women contrary to God's Word, and fell into the sin of idolatry (1 Kings 11:1-13) and caused serious trouble for his descendants and the people of Israel.
Uzziah became king of Judah as a boy, and God blessed and prospered him as long as he walked in God's ways; But as soon as he, in his pride, acted contrary to the Law of God, and did not repent and recant even after being warned, he had to face severe chastisement (read 2 Chronicles 26 chapter).
Ananias and Sapphira coveted worldly things, and lost their things as well as their lives (Acts 5:1-11).
When the Apostle Peter began to act as a man-pleaser, he fell into the sin of hypocrisy (Galatians 2:11-13).
Paul impatiently acted in anger and vengefully, insisted on doing his will instead of seeking God's will and acting accordingly, and was separated from his two close companions, Barnabas and Mark (Acts 15:36–39).
In other words, if even the godly and committed people of God step out of the safety of obeying God’s Word and try to do anything on their own, immediately Satan makes them fall in sin, one way or another. In the next article we will see that despite being saved and reconciled with God, man is incapable of withstanding Satan’s devices.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
