कलीसिया को समझना – 2 

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि, बाइबल के अनुसार, प्रभु यीशु मसीह की कलीसिया कोई भवन, या कोई विशेष डिनॉमिनेशन अथवा समुदाय नहीं है। वरन, कलीसिया, बिना समय अथवा स्थान के किसी भी भिन्नता के, मसीहियत के आरंभ से लेकर अभी तक के, सारे सँसार भर के सभी वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों का एक समूह है; चाहे वे एक दूसरे से कभी मिले हों अथवा नहीं, एक दूसरे को जाना हो अथवा नहीं, एक दूसरे के साथ संगति की हो अथवा नहीं। किसी भी भौगोलिक स्थान पर विद्यमान कोई भी स्थानीय कलीसिया इसी विश्व-व्यापी कलीसिया का ही एक अंग है, और प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी उसी सम्पूर्ण का एक भाग है। प्रभु परमेश्वर की यह वास्तविक कलीसिया, जैसा प्रभु यीशु ने पतरस से मत्ती 16:18 में कहा है, मनुष्यों के द्वारा नहीं बल्कि स्वयं प्रभु यीशु ही के द्वारा बनाई गई है; वह किसी भी डिनॉमिनेशन या समुदाय के अनुसार विभाजित नहीं है, और न ही  प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया में ऐसे किसी विभाजन का कोई महत्व अथवा स्थान है। हमने यह भी देखा था कि प्रभु परमेश्वर अपनी कलीसिया के प्रति बहुत कड़ाई से मालिकाना अधिकार रखता और जताता है, और यदि कोई उसकी कलीसिया या कलीसिया के किसी सदस्य को कोई हानि या कष्ट पहुँचता है, उस से दुर्व्यवहार करता है, तो प्रभु उसे हल्के में नहीं लेता है।

बाइबल में कलीसिया का वर्णन करने के लिए, उसके विभिन्न पक्षों को समझाने, उसके गुणों को बताने, और उसकी कार्यों को दर्शाने के लिए कुछ रूपक उपयोग किये गए हैं। कलीसिया के लिए, जैसा 2 कुरिन्थियों 6:16 में लिखा गया है, प्रयुक्त एक रूपक है कि वह जीवते परमेश्वर का मन्दिर है “और मूरतों के साथ परमेश्वर के मन्दिर का क्या सम्बन्ध? क्योंकि हम तो जीवते परमेश्वर का मन्दिर हैं; जैसा परमेश्वर ने कहा है कि मैं उन में बसूंगा और उन में चला फिरा करूंगा; और मैं उन का परमेश्वर हूंगा, और वे मेरे लोग होंगे।” यहाँ पर, इस पद में ध्यान कीजिए कि बहुवचन शब्द ‘हम’, ‘लोग’ का उपयोग किया गया है, अर्थात, चाहे व्यक्तिगत रीति से एक विश्वासी हो, अथवा सामूहिक रूप से मण्डली हो, प्रभु की कलीसिया का प्रत्येक अंग (यह किसी समुदाय अथवा डिनॉमिनेशन का सदस्य होने की बात नहीं है) परमेश्वर का मन्दिर है, और परमेश्वर उसमें/उनमें निवास करता है। इस रूपक के द्वारा बाइबल यह दिखाती है कि कलीसिया, अर्थात नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों के समाज को परमेश्वर का घराना, उसका निवास स्थान (इफिसियों 2:19, 22) होना है, और दिखना है।

कलीसिया के स्वरूप को समझाने और दिखाने वाले इन रूपकों को समझना और उनका पालन करना प्रभु की कलीसिया तथा कलीसिया के अन्य सदस्यों के साथ संगति रखने, उनके प्रति भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह के लिए अनिवार्य है। यद्यपि कलीसिया से संबंधित सभी रूपक हमें परमेश्वर तथा उसके बच्चों के प्रति हमारे रवैये और व्यवहार के बारे में महत्वपूर्ण बातें बताते और सिखाते हैं, किन्तु पौलुस में होकर पवित्र आत्मा ने परमेश्वर का मंदिर होने, उसका निवास स्थान होने के इस रूपक को तीन बार उपयोग किया है, (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16-17; 6:18-20; 2 कुरिन्थियों 6:16-18), सचेत करने के लिए कलीसिया के प्रति कोई अभद्र व्यवहार न किया जाए। इसलिए, प्रत्येक विश्वासी को इस हमेशा बने रहने वाले एहसास के साथ जीना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर सदैव उसके अंदर निवास करता है। विश्वासी जो देखता, बोलता, और सुनता है, परमेश्वर भी उसे देखता और सुनता है; जहाँ कहीं भी विश्वासी जाता है, परमेश्वर भी जाता है; और विश्वासी अपनी देह के साथ जो कुछ भी करता है, वास्तव में वह परमेश्वर के मंदिर के साथ वैसा कर रहा है। और एक दिन उसे इन सभी बातों, अर्थात, उसने परमेश्वर के मंदिर के साथ कैसा व्यवहार, उसका कैसा उपयोग किया का हिसाब परमेश्वर को देना होगा, और उसके अनुसार उसका न्याय होगा (रोमियों 14:12; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10; 1 पतरस 4:17), उद्धार के लिए नहीं, किन्तु अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफलों के लिए।

अगले लेख से हम प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया के लिए उपयोग किये गए विभिन्न रूपकों और उनके तात्पर्यों को देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Understanding the Church – 2

In the previous article we have seen that Biblically speaking, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is not a building, nor is it a particular denomination or sect. Rather the Church is the singular collective body of the actually Born-Again Christian Believers, all over the world, across time, since the beginning of Christianity till date; whether or not they have met, or known, or fellowshipped with each other. The local Church at any geographical place, is one part of this whole universal Church, and every Christian Believer is a smaller part of that whole. This actual Church of the Lord God, as the Lord Jesus said to Peter in Matthew 16:18, is built by the Lord Jesus, and not by men; it is not divided into any denominations or sects, which are all man-made, not God given or God-created; and neither do any such denominational divisions have any importance or place in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. We also saw that the Lord God is very possessive of His Church, and does not take it lightly if anyone causes any hurt or harm to His Church or in any manner mistreats its constituent members.

In the Bible, some metaphors have been used to describe the Church, to explain its various aspects, characteristics, and functions. One of the metaphors for the Church, i.e., the community of the Christian Believers in a locality, as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:16 is that it is the Temple of the living God “And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you* are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people."” Here, in this verse, take note of the plural – ‘them,’ ‘people,’ i.e., whether individually as a Believer, or collectively as the congregation, every member of the Lord’s Church (this is not about being members of any sect or denomination) is the Temple of God, and God always dwells in him/them. Through this metaphor the Bible shows that the Church, i.e., the community of Born-Again Christian Believers must be, and should be seen as a household, a dwelling place of God as it says in Ephesians 2:19, 22.

Understanding and obeying these metaphorical concepts of what a Church is, is of paramount importance in fulfilling stewardship responsibilities regarding the Church, and fellowshipping with God's children. Although, all the various metaphors of the Church have important things to teach us about our attitude and behavior towards God and His children, but the Holy Spirit through Paul, has particularly used this metaphor of God’s Temple or dwelling place to thrice caution against wayward behavior regarding the Church (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:18-20; 2 Corinthians 6:16-18). Therefore, every Believer should live with the constant realization that God is dwelling in him or her; God sees and hears whatever the Believer sees, says, and hears; God goes wherever the Believer goes, and whatever the Believer does to his body, he is actually doing it to God’s Temple; and one day he will be called to give an account of all of this, i.e., how he has handled and used God’s Temple, to God, and will be and judged accordingly (Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Peter 4:17), not for salvation, but for eternal rewards.

From the next article we will look up the various metaphors used in the Bible for the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, and what they imply.

You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

       हम निर्गमन 12 अध्याय और उसमें दिए गए प्रभु भोज के प्ररूप, फसह, से संबंधित शिक्षाओं के अंत पर आ गए हैं। आज हम इस अध्याय से एक और पद को देखेंगे, जो एक बार फिर उन बातों की जो हम फसह तथा प्रभु भोज के बारे में सीखते आ रहे हैं, पुनः पुष्टि करता है। यह है पद 46, जो बलिदान के मेमने के साथ दो बातें करना वर्जित करता है - यहाँ पर पहले तो उसके माँस को उस घर के बाहर ले जाना जहां पर उसे बलि किया गया था वर्जित किया गया है; और दूसरे यह कि मेमने की कोई भी हड्डी तोड़ना वर्जित किया गया है। जब हम इस पद को उसके संदर्भ में उससे पहले के पदों के साथ देखते हैं, तो हम पाते हैं कि घर के दासों, मजदूरों, और किसी परदेशी को फसह में भाग लेना मना था, जब तक कि वे पहले अब्राहम के साथ बाँधी गई परमेश्वर की वाचा के अधीन आकर खतना नहीं करवा लेते, जैसा कि हम पिछले लेख में देख चुके हैं। सामान्य रीति से, उस समय में, घर के दास अथवा मज़दूर “परिवार” के सदस्य समझे जाते थे, यद्यपि उनके वे अधिकार और विशेषाधिकार नहीं होते थे जो परिवार में जन्म लेने वाली संतान के होते थे। ऐसे “सदस्यों” को फसह में भाग लेने से मना करने का अभिप्राय यही है कि जो कोई ऊपरी तौर पर या परिस्थिति के अनुसार “परिवार” से जुड़ा है, किन्तु वास्तव में और घनिष्ठता से परिवार का अंग नहीं है, उन्हें परिवार के समान फसह खाने का अधिकार नहीं है। इससे, हम प्रभु भोज के बारे में एक बार फिर यह सीख सकते हैं, जिसे हम पहले भी देखते और कहते चले आ रहे हैं, कि प्रभु यीशु के साथ एक औपचारिक या ऊपरी रीति से संबंध रखने वालों को, अर्थात, उन्हें जो प्रभु यीशु मसीह के साथ एक प्रतिबद्धता, समर्पण के व्यक्तिगत संबंध में नहीं आए हैं, किन्तु उसके साथ केवल अपने डिनॉमिनेशन की कुछ रीतियों और प्रथाओं के द्वारा, धर्म संबंधी औपचारिकताओं और निर्देशों को निभाने के द्वारा जुड़े हैं, उन्हें परमेश्वर अपने वचन के द्वारा प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के लिए अनुमति नहीं देता है। फसह और प्रभु की मेज़ उन्हीं के लिए है जो वास्तव में प्रभु के लोग हैं, उनके लिए जिन्हें कोई मनुष्य नहीं, वरन स्वयं परमेश्वर अपने मानकों के आधार पर, अपने लोग स्वीकार करता है।

        पद 46 पर आते हैं, पद का आरंभ इस निर्देश के साथ होता है कि जो मेमना जिस घर के लिए बलिदान किया गया, उसका खाना भी उसी घर ही में हो। इसके बाद निर्देश दिए गए हैं कि उसके माँस को बाहर न ले जाया जाए। इससे पहले, पद 21-24 में, परमेश्वर यहोवा ने इस्राएलियों को यह निर्देश दिया था कि मेमने को बलिदान करने और उसके लहू को दरवाजों के अलंगों और चौखटों पर लगाने के बाद, उस घर से कोई भी फिर प्रातः होने तक घर से बाहर न निकले (पद 22)। बाहर, अंधकार में मारने वाला अपना काम कर रहा होगा, जितने घरों पर बलि किए हुए मेमने का लहू नहीं लगा होगा उनके पहिलौठों को मार रहा होगा। पद 46 इसमें यह भी जोड़ देता है कि मेमने का माँस भी उस घर से बाहर नहीं जाना था। हमने पहले के एक लेख में देखा था कि इस्राएलियों को मिस्र से कूच करते समय, यदि बलि के मेमने का कोई भाग बचा हुआ तो उसे जला देना था (निर्गमन 12:10); और हमारा आज का पद, मेमने के बचे हुए भाग को जला देने के इस निर्देश का समर्थक है।

    प्रतीक के रूप में, इस निर्देश का नए नियम में तात्पर्य है कि वह व्यक्ति जो एक बार परमेश्वर के घराने में आ गया है, प्रभु यीशु के साथ जुड़ गया है, फिर उसे लौट कर बाहर, वापस संसार में, पाप के अंधकार में नहीं जाना है। प्रेरित पौलुस ने, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में लिखते हुए  गलातिया के मसीही विश्वासियों को डाँट लगाते हुए लिखा (गलातियों 4:7-11), कि अब ‘दास’ से उठाकर ‘पुत्र’ का दर्जा दिए जाने के बाद, अर्थात, अब परमेश्वर के परिवार के पूर्ण सदस्य बन जाने के बाद “उन निर्बल और निकम्मी आदि-शिक्षा की बातों की ओर क्यों फिरते हो, जिन के तुम दोबारा दास होना चाहते हो?” (पद 4:9), क्योंकि इस प्रकार से वे लोग प्रभु यीशु के कार्य और पौलुस के परिश्रम को व्यर्थ करते हैं। इसी प्रकार से कुलुस्सियों को लिखी पत्री के 2 अध्याय में पौलुस उन से कहता है कि वे मसीह में परिपूर्ण कर दिए गए हैं, क्रूस पर उसके बलिदान के द्वारा, और अब किसी भी व्यवस्था या मनुष्यों के बनाए हुए किसी भी विधि-विधान की अधीनता में नहीं हैं। अब उन्हें केवल मसीह में बने रहना और उसी में बढ़ते जाना है, बजाए वापस मुड़कर संसार की बातों में जाने के, जिनमें “गढ़ी हुई भक्ति की रीति, और दीनता, और शारीरिक योगाभ्यास के भाव से ज्ञान का नाम तो है, परन्तु शारीरिक लालसाओं को रोकने में इन से कुछ भी लाभ नहीं होता” (पद 2:23)। फसह के निर्देश, नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों से की गई आशा और उनके लिए दिए जाने वाले निर्देशों का पूर्वाभास हैं।

       अगले लेख में हम इस पद में वर्जित की गई दूसरी बात, अर्थात, मेमने की कोई हड्डी न तोड़ी जाए के बारे में देखेंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - Prove & Affirm the Scriptures (1)

 

       As we draw to the end of Exodus 12 and its teachings related to the Passover, the antecedent of the Holy Communion, we will look at one more verse from this chapter, that again reaffirms what we have been seeing and learning about the Passover and through it about the Holy Communion. This is verse 46, that forbids doing two things to the sacrificial lamb - one is carrying its flesh outside the house where it had been sacrificed has been forbidden, and the second is that breaking any of the bones of that lamb has been forgiven. When we see this verse in its context of the preceding verses, we see that the servants of the house, whether bought or hired, and any sojourner, i.e., a person passing through the area, and not a member of the family, were forbidden from partaking the Passover, unless and until they came under God’s covenant with Abraham, and were circumcised, as we have seen in the last article. Generally speaking, at that time, the servants of the household were considered as part of the family, although not with the same rights and privileges as one born into the family. The forbidding of these “members” of the family indicates that those who were casually or circumstantially part of the household, but were actually not an intimate part of the family, they too had no right to partake of the Passover. From this, for the Holy Communion, we can once again infer, what we have been seeing and saying all along, that no one casually associated with the Lord Jesus, i.e., one who has not come into a committed and a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, but is associated with Him only because of having gone through some denominational rites and rituals, through some religious formalities and procedures, is not permitted by the Lord God through His Word to participate in the Lord’s Table. The Passover, and the Lord’s Table are only for the actual people of God, those whom not any man, but God accepts as His own, based on His criteria.

       Coming to verse 46, the verse starts with the instruction that the lamb, sacrificed for one household (12:3-4), has to be eaten within that household. It is followed up with the instruction of not carrying its flesh outside. Earlier, in verses 21-24, the Lord God had instructed the Israelites that after sacrificing the lamb and applying its blood to the door-posts and lintels of the house, no one from the household was to go out till the morning (v. 22); outside, in the darkness the “destroyer” would be at work, bringing death to the firstborns in the houses not covered with the blood of the sacrificial lamb. Verse 46 adds to this that the flesh of the lamb was not to be taken out of the house. We had also seen in an earlier article that the Israelites had also been instructed that at the time of departure from Egypt, if any part of the lamb remained uneaten, it was to be burnt (Exodus 12:10), and this verse supplements that instruction of burning, but not taking it out of the household.

       Symbolically, the New Testament application of this instruction indicates that the person who has come into the household of God, is joined to the Lord Jesus, is not to go out, i.e., back into the world, into the darkness of sin. The Apostle Paul, writing through the holy Spirit of God admonishes the Galatian Believers, in Galatians 4:7-11, that having been elevated from being a ‘slave’ to being a ‘son, i.e., having become a full-fledged member of God’s household, why were they turning back to the “weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage?” (4:9), thereby rendering vain the work of the Lord Jesus and the labor of Paul amongst them. Similarly, writing to the Colossian Believers, Paul says to them in Colossians chapter 2 that they have been made complete in Christ, through His sacrifice on the Cross, and are no longer under any law or man-made ordinance. Now, all they have to do is remain in Christ and grow in Him, instead of turning back again to the ways of the world, which “have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh” (2:23). The instructions of the Passover foreshadow the expectations and instructions for the Born-Again Christian Believers.

        In the next article we will consider the second thing that has been forbidden in this verse, i.e., breaking any bone of the Lamb.

Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

        हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है कि किस प्रकार से शैतान ने प्रभु भोज को, परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हुई उससे संबंधित बातों और निर्देशों को, तोड़-मरोड़ के बताने और उनका दुरुपयोग करने के द्वारा, बिगाड़ करके भ्रष्ट कर दिया है, उसे एक व्यर्थ और अर्थहीन परंपरा में परिवर्तित कर दिया है। शैतान ऐसा मुख्यतः दो बातों के कारण करने पाया है। पहली यह कि अधिकांश ईसाइयों या मसीहियों को स्वयं परमेश्वर का वचन पढ़ने और सीखने की कोई परवाह नहीं है; जो भी परमेश्वर के नाम में पुल्पिट से उन्हें बता दिया जाता है, वे उसी से संतुष्ट रहते हैं और उसे ही स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, उसे ही वास्तविकता और सत्य समझ लेते हैं; कभी उन बातों की जांच और पुष्टि परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से नहीं करते हैं। और दूसरी यह कि अधिकांश ईसाइयों या मसीहियों को बाइबल की बातों और निर्देशों के स्थान पर केवल अपने मत, समुदाय, डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपराओं एवं शिक्षाओं का पालन करने में रुचि रहती है। उनकी प्राथमिकता परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करना और उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता नहीं, वरन अपने धार्मिक अगुवों की बातों को मानने, और उन्हें प्रसन्न रखने की रहती है। इसीलिए, यद्यपि संपूर्ण मसीही समाज के विभिन्न मत और समुदायों में प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने की विधि में विविधताएं हैं, लेकिन फिर भी परंपरा के रूप में उसमें भाग लेते रहने के द्वारा, ईसाई या मसीही लोग इसी गलतफहमी का निर्वाह करते रहते हैं कि ऐसा करने से वे परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश पाने के लिये योग्य हो गए हैं - जो कि बाइबल के अनुसार कदापि सत्य नहीं है; शैतान और उसके दूतों द्वारा फैलाया गया भ्रम है।

        हमने पिछले लेखों में फसह तथा प्रभु भोज से संबंधित कुछ प्रतीकों को भी देखा था, और यह भी देखा था कि आम धारणा के विपरीत, कि प्रभु भोज का आरंभ नए नियम में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा किया गया, इसमें भाग लेने के प्ररूप पुराने नियम में फसह के भोज में भी पाए जाते हैं, और प्रभु यीशु ने इसी फसह के भोज को मनाते हुए इस ‘प्रभु भोज’ की स्थापना की थी। हमने पिछले लेख में इसी प्रथम प्ररूप, निर्गमन 12 की बातों के तात्पर्यों और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के लिये उससे मिलने वाली शिक्षाओं को भी देखना आरंभ किया था। हमने इस अध्याय के पद 1 और 2 से देखा था कि जिस प्रकार से फसह का भोज केवल परमेश्वर के चुने हुए लोगों, इस्राएल ही के लिये था, जिनके लिये यह एक नई शुरुआत को भी दिखाता था; उसी प्रकार से प्रभु की मेज़ या प्रभु भोज भी केवल उनके लिये ही है जो “एक नई सृष्टि” हो गए हैं, किसी मत या समुदाय की रीतियों, परंपराओं, अनुष्ठानों के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, अपितु अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु यीशु को अपना व्यक्तिगत उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने तथा प्रभु को अपना जीवन समर्पित कर देने के द्वारा; अर्थात वे नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी बन गए हैं।

        आज से हम फसह के लिये बलि किये जाने वाले मेमने के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे, और देखेंगे कि उस बलि के मेमने के गुण किस प्रकार से प्रभु यीशु के साथ, जो "...परमेश्वर का मेम्ना है, जो जगत के पाप उठा ले जाता है” (यूहन्ना 1:29), और जो कि जगत की उत्पत्ति के समय से बलिदान हुआ है (प्रकाशितवाक्य 13:8), मेल रखते हैं।

        निर्गमन 12:3-4 - पद 3 के आरंभिक वाक्य से हम देखते हैं कि यहाँ फिर से दोहराया गया है कि फसह से संबंधित परमेश्वर के निर्देश सभी के लिये नहीं किन्तु “इस्राएल की सारी मण्डली से इस प्रकार कहो”, अर्थात फसह परमेश्वर के चुने हुए लोगों के लिये था, जैसा कि हम पिछले लेख में भी देख चुके हैं। पद 4 में हम देखते हैं कि एक घराने के लिये एक ही मेमना बलिदान किया जाना था; और यदि घराना छोटा हो तो पड़ौस के घराने के साथ मिलकर एक घराने के समान उस एक मेमने का उपयोग किया जाना था। दूसरे शब्दों में, बलिदान का एक मेमना एक घराने के लिये पर्याप्त था, बल्कि आवश्यकता से भी अधिक था, क्योंकि आगे चलकर पद 10 में लिखा है कि भोज खा लेने के बाद मेमने का जो भाग बच जाए उसे आग में जला दिया जाए। हम इफिसियों 2:19-22 से देखते हैं कि नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी, वे चाहे यहूदियों में से थे या अन्य-जातियों में से, वे सभी मसीह यीशु में विश्वास के द्वारा एक घराना, प्रभु की एक देह बना दिए गए हैं; और साथ मिलकर अब ‘परमेश्वर का घराना’ (पद 19), ‘परमेश्वर का निवास-स्थान’ (पद 22) बनाए गए हैं। देश के आकार और जनसंख्या के आधार पर यदि देखें तो यहूदी या इस्राएली, अपने सभी, सामूहिक अन्य-जाति पड़ौसियों की तुलना में, एक छोटा राष्ट्र थे और हैं। किन्तु अब मसीह में लाए गए विश्वास के द्वारा एक-दूसरे के पड़ौस में रहने वाले ये एक छोटे और बड़े घराने के लोग मसीह में एक घराना कर दिये गए हैं जिससे कि वे एक फसह के भोज में, एक प्रभु भोज में भाग ले सकें। यहाँ पर, तथा इफिसियों के इस खण्ड में प्रयुक्त एक वचन शब्दों पर ध्यान कीजिए - ‘घराना’ (पद 19), और ‘निवास-स्थान’ (पद 22)। यहूदी और अन्य-जाति विश्वासियों के एक किये जाने की प्रक्रिया को इससे पहले के पदों में, इफिसियों 2:11-18 में समझाया गया है। इस एकता की इच्छा की गई है और आशा रखी गई है (इफिसियों 4:13), और अन्ततः एक ही “कलीसिया” होगी जिसे मसीह की देह (इफिसियों 5:23), और मसीह की दुलहन (इफिसियों 5:25-26) कहा गया है - पुनः एक वचन का प्रयोग किया गया है।

        फसह के भोज के लिये परमेश्वर द्वारा एक घराने के लिये एक ही मेमना ठहराया गया था - चाहे वह संयुक्त घराना ही क्यों न हो। पापों के दासत्व के छुटकारे के लिये भी “एक संयुक्त घराने” के लिये परमेश्वर की ओर से एक ही बलि का मेमना - प्रभु यीशु मसीह ठहराया गया है, जो आवश्यकता से भी अधिक है। प्रभु यीशु के अतिरिक्त और कोई भी व्यक्ति, वस्तु, या विधि शैतान के चंगुल से छुड़ाने के लिए उपयुक्त अथवा आवश्यक नहीं है, और न ही किसी की इच्छा की जानी चाहिए, और न ही कोई या कुछ और यह छुटकारा देने पाएगा (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:6-10)।

        फसह परमेश्वर के लोगों को प्रोत्साहित करता था कि वे दासत्व से छुटकारे के लिये केवल परमेश्वर के प्रावधान एवं विधि पर भरोसा रखें, चाहे परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित की गई बात उन्हें समझ में आए या न आए। परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई यह विधि दासत्व से बचाए जाने और छुटकारा पाने के लिये एक साथ एक घराने के समान जुड़कर परमेश्वर के इंतज़ाम में सम्मिलित होने के लिये भी प्रोत्साहित करती थी। इसी प्रकार से, प्रभु की मेज़ या प्रभु भोज भी उन्हीं के लिये है जो अन्य किसी पर भरोसा नहीं करते हैं, केवल प्रभु यीशु, कलवरी के क्रूस पर दिए गए उन के बलिदान, उन की मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान पर, पापों तथा उनके दुष्परिणामों से छुड़ाए जाने के लिए विश्वास रखते हैं, चाहे परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया यह इंतज़ाम उनकी समझ में आए या न आए। किन्तु वे लोग जो प्रभु के साथ भी निभाना चाहते हैं और संसार तथा सांसारिकता को भी प्रसन्न रखना चाहते हैं, उन्हें प्रभु की मेज़ से कोई लाभ नहीं होगा, परन्तु वे ऐसा करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर को रिस दिलाते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:21-22)। इस प्रकार से हम सीखते हैं कि प्रभु भोज यानि कि प्रभु की मेज़ केवल प्रभु के लोगों के लिये है, जो साथ मिलकर एकता में परमेश्वर की एक ही कलीसिया, उसका घराना, उसका निवास-स्थान होकर रहने और एकता को बढ़ावा देने की प्रवृत्ति और लालसा रखते हैं। जो लोग कलीसिया में विभाजन और गुट-बाज़ी करते हैं, उसे बढ़ावा देते हैं, मसीही विश्वासियों में विभाजन और गुटों को बनाए रखते हैं, प्रभु की मेज़ के संदर्भ में पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस के द्वारा उनकी तीव्र भर्त्सना की है (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-22), एक प्रकार से उनके प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने को व्यर्थ और निष्फल कहा है।

       अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं, तथा आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

       यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:3-4 - Lord’s Table & Unity in the Church

        We have seen in the previous articles how Satan has corrupted the Holy Communion by manipulating and misusing the things and instructions written about it in the Word of God, and turned it into a vain, meaningless ritual. Satan has been allowed to get away with all his devious tricks, due to two main reasons; firstly, because the majority of “Christians” do not bother to study and learn God’s Word for themselves, they are content with receiving and accepting as truth whatever is dished out to them from the pulpit in the name of God, never bothering to cross-check and verify the teachings from the Bible before accepting them; and, secondly because the majority of “Christians” want to follow the rituals and practices of their sect, group, and denomination, instead of what is written in the Bible. They are more concerned about obeying their religious leaders, than about obeying God and His Word. Therefore, although there is a lot of variation in the method of observance of the Holy Communion across various sects and denominations in Christendom; yet all those participating in the Lord’s Table ritualistically, believe, though erroneously, that by partaking of the Communion, they become acceptable to God and qualified to enter heaven - a very unBiblical idea brought upon them by Satan and his agents.

        We had also understood some symbolisms related to the Passover and the Holy Communion, and saw that contrary to the popular belief that the Holy Communion was started in the New Testament by the Lord Jesus, antecedents of the Communion are present in the Old Testament, as the Passover meal, from which it was derived by the Lord Jesus. In the last article we had started to consider from the first antecedent, Exodus 12, the implications of and applications related to participating in the Lord’s Table. We had seen from verse 1 and 2 of this chapter that just as the Passover meal was meant only for God’s chosen people Israel, for whom it denoted a new beginning, the Holy Communion, or, the Lord’s Table is meant only for those who have ‘become a new creation’ in the Lord, not by virtue of fulfilling any denominational rituals and ceremonies, but by repenting of their sins and accepting the Lord Jesus as their personal savior, have submitted themselves to the Lord; i.e., are Born-Again Christian Believers.

        Today we will start considering about the sacrificial lamb of the Passover, and see how the characteristics of this sacrificial lamb corelate with the Lord Jesus, who is “...The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29), and was slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).

         Exodus 12:3-4 - From the opening sentence of verse 3 we see it reiterated that God’s instruction related to the Passover, were meant not for everyone but “for the congregation of Israel”, i.e., the Passover was meant only for God’s chosen people as we have also seen in the previous article. From verse 4 we see that one lamb was to be sacrificed for one household; and if the household was small, they were to join with their neighbors and partake of that one lamb as one household. In other words, one sacrificial lamb was sufficient for one household, rather more than sufficient, since subsequently verse 10 talks of burning in fire any part of the lamb that remained after the meal. We see from Ephesians 2:19-22 that the Born-Again Christian Believers, from the Jews or the Gentiles have been joined together into one household or one body by faith in Lord Jesus, and together have been made the ‘household of God’ (v. 19), to be a ‘dwelling place of God’ (v.22). Going by the size of the nation and their population size, the Jews, or Israel, has been a small nation compared to their neighbors the Gentiles all around, who collectively were a much larger group than the Israelites, i.e., the small and large neighboring families, have been joined together by faith in the Lord into one household, to partake of one Passover meal - the Lord’s Table. Notice the use of singular words, ‘household’ in v.19 and ‘dwelling place’ in v.22 in this passage from Ephesians. This unification of Jews and Gentiles into one body, one household has been explained in the preceding verses - Ephesians 2:11-18. It is desired and looked forward to (Ephesians 4:13), and eventually there will be one “Church” which has been called the Body of Christ (Ephesians 5:23), and the Bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25-26) - singular terms again.

        For the Passover, one lamb for one household - even if it were to be a combined household had been ordained by God. For the deliverance from the bondage of sin of the spiritual household of the Lord, the “one combined household” of God, the one sacrificial Lamb of God - the Lord Jesus is more than sufficient. No one other than the Lord Jesus, nothing besides the Lord Jesus is to be desired or attempted to be used, for being set free from the clutches of Satan; nor will anyone or anything else ever serve the purpose (1 Thessalonians 1:6-10).

        The Passover encouraged the people of God to trust solely in God’s provision and prescribed method for their deliverance from bondage, whether or not they understood what God had ordained. God’s method, also encouraged coming together as one household to partake of God’s provision and be saved and delivered from bondage. Similarly, the Lord’s Table, or the Holy Communion is meant for those who trust in no one else, nothing else, but the Lord Jesus and His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, His death and resurrection, for being delivered from their sins and its consequences, whether or not one understands God’s doing so. But those who try to live with the Lord, and also appease the world and the systems of the world, do not gain any benefit from the Lord’s Table, instead they provoke the Lord to jealousy (1 Corinthians 10:21-22). So, we learn that the Lord’s Table is meant only for the Lord’s people, who are to live in unity, and work for unity as the one Church of God, His household, His dwelling place. Those who create divisions in the Church or promote and maintain segregation and factionalism amongst the Christian Believers have been severely reprimanded by the Holy Spirit through Paul in context of participating in the Lord’s Table (1 Corinthians 11:17-22), in a way calling their participation vain and inconsequential.

        In the next article we will carry on from here and see the subsequent verses from Exodus in the coming articles. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, are a new creation for the Lord, and strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

    पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि, बाइबल के अनुसार, प्रभु यीशु मसीह की कलीसिया कोई भवन, या कोई विशेष डिनॉमिनेशन अथवा समुदाय नहीं है। वरन, कलीसिया, बिना समय अथवा स्थान के किसी भी अंतर के, मसीहियत के आरंभ से लेकर अभी तक के, सारे सँसार भर के सभी वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों का एक समूह है; चाहे वे एक दूसरे से कभी मिले हों अथवा नहीं, एक दूसरे को जाना हो अथवा नहीं, एक दूसरे के साथ संगति की हो अथवा नहीं। किसी भी भौगोलिक स्थान पर विद्यमान कोई भी स्थानीय कलीसिया इसी विश्व-व्यापी कलीसिया का ही एक अंग है, और प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी उसी सम्पूर्ण का एक भाग है। प्रभु परमेश्वर की यह वास्तविक कलीसिया, जैसा प्रभु यीशु ने पतरस से मत्ती 16:18 में कहा है, मनुष्यों के द्वारा नहीं बल्कि स्वयं प्रभु यीशु ही के द्वारा बनाई गई है; वह किसी भी डिनॉमिनेशन या समुदाय के अनुसार विभाजित नहीं है, और न ही उस में ऐसे किसी विभाजन का कोई महत्व अथवा स्थान है। हमने यह भी देखा था कि प्रभु परमेश्वर अपनी कलीसिया के प्रति बहुत कड़ाई से मालिकाना अधिकार रखता और जताता है, और यदि कोई उसकी कलीसिया या कलीसिया के किसी सदस्य को कोई हानि या कष्ट पहुँचता है, उस से दुर्व्यवहार करता है, तो प्रभु उसे हल्के में नहीं लेता है।

    बाइबल में कलीसिया का वर्णन करने के लिए, उसके विभिन्न पक्षों को समझाने, उसके गुणों को बताने, और उसकी कार्यों को दर्शाने के लिए कुछ रूपक उपयोग किये गए हैं। कलीसिया के लिए, जैसा 2 कुरिन्थियों 6:16 में लिखा गया है, प्रयुक्त एक रूपक है कि वह जीवते परमेश्वर का मन्दिर है “और मूरतों के साथ परमेश्वर के मन्दिर का क्या सम्बन्ध? क्योंकि हम तो जीवते परमेश्वर का मन्दिर हैं; जैसा परमेश्वर ने कहा है कि मैं उन में बसूंगा और उन में चला फिरा करूंगा; और मैं उन का परमेश्वर हूंगा, और वे मेरे लोग होंगे।” यहाँ पर, इस पद में ध्यान कीजिए कि बहुवचन शब्द ‘हम’, ‘लोग’ का उपयोग किया गया है, अर्थात, चाहे व्यक्तिगत रीति से एक विश्वासी हो, अथवा सामूहिक रूप से मण्डली हो, प्रभु की कलीसिया का प्रत्येक अंग (यह किसी समुदाय अथवा डिनॉमिनेशन का सदस्य होने की बात नहीं है) परमेश्वर का मन्दिर है, और परमेश्वर उसमें/उनमें निवास करता है। इस रूपक के द्वारा बाइबल यह दिखाती है कि कलीसिया, अर्थात नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों के समाज को परमेश्वर का घराना, उसका निवास स्थान (इफिसियों 2:19, 22) होना है, और दिखना है।

    कलीसिया के स्वरूप को समझाने और दिखाने वाले इन रूपकों को समझना और उनका पालन करना प्रभु की कलीसिया तथा कलीसिया के अन्य सदस्यों के साथ संगति रखने, उनके प्रति भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह के लिए अनिवार्य है। यद्यपि कलीसिया से संबंधित सभी रूपक हमें परमेश्वर तथा उसके बच्चों के प्रति हमारे रवैये और व्यवहार के बारे में महत्वपूर्ण बातें बताते और सिखाते हैं, किन्तु पौलुस में होकर पवित्र आत्मा ने परमेश्वर का मंदिर होने, उसका निवास स्थान होने के इस रूपक को तीन बार उपयोग किया है, (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16-17; 6:18-20; 2 कुरिन्थियों 6:16-18), सचेत करने के लिए कलीसिया के प्रति कोई अभद्र व्यवहार न किया जाए। इसलिए, प्रत्येक विश्वासी को इस हमेशा बने रहने वाले एहसास के साथ जीना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर सदैव उसके अंदर निवास करता है। विश्वासी जो देखता, बोलता, और सुनता है, परमेश्वर भी उसे देखता और सुनता है; जहाँ कहीं भी विश्वासी जाता है, परमेश्वर भी जाता है; और विश्वासी अपनी देह के साथ जो कुछ भी करता है, वास्तव में वह परमेश्वर के मंदिर के साथ वैसा कर रहा है। और एक दिन उसे इन सभी बातों, अर्थात, उसने परमेश्वर के मंदिर के साथ कैसा व्यवहार, उसका कैसा उपयोग किया का हिसाब परमेश्वर को देना होगा, और उसके अनुसार उसका न्याय होगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10; 1 पतरस 4:17), उद्धार के लिए नहीं, किन्तु अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफलों के लिए।

    अगले लेख से हम प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया के लिए उपयोग किये गए विभिन्न रूपकों और उनके तात्पर्यों को देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Understanding the Church – 2

 

    In the previous article we have seen that Biblically speaking, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is not a building, nor is it a particular denomination or sect. Rather the Church is the singular collective body of the actually Born-Again Christian Believers, all over the world, across time, since the beginning of Christianity till date, whether or not they have met, or known, or fellowshipped with each other. The local Church at any geographical place, is one part of this whole universal Church, and every Christian Believer is a smaller part of that whole. This actual Church of the Lord God, as the Lord Jesus said to Peter in Matthew 16:18, is built by the Lord Jesus, and not by men; it is not divided into any denominations or sects, which are all man-made, not God given or God-created; and neither do any such denominational divisions have any importance or place in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. We also saw that the Lord God is very possessive of His Church, and does not take it lightly if anyone causes any hurt or harm to His Church or in any manner mistreats its constituent members.

    In the Bible, some metaphors have been used to describe the Church, to explain its various aspects, characteristics, and functions. One of the metaphors for the Church, i.e., the community of the Christian Believer's in a locality, as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:16 is that it is the Temple of the living God “And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people."” Here, in this verse, take note of the plural – ‘them,’ ‘people,’ i.e., whether individually as a Believer, or collectively as the congregation, every member of the Lord’s Church (this is not about being members of any sect or denomination) is the Temple of God, and God always dwells in him/them. Through this metaphor the Bible shows that the Church, i.e., the community of Born-Again Christian Believers is to be, and should be seen as a household, a dwelling place of God as it says in Ephesians 2:19, 22.

    Understanding and obeying these metaphorical concepts of what a Church is, is of paramount importance in fulfilling stewardship responsibilities regarding the Church, and fellowshipping with God's children. Although, all the various metaphors of the Church have important things to teach us about our attitude and behavior towards God and His children, but the Holy Spirit through Paul, has particularly used this metaphor of God’s Temple or dwelling place to thrice caution against wayward behavior regarding the Church (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:18-20; 2 Corinthians 6:16-18). Therefore, every Believer should live with the constant realization that God is dwelling in him or her; God sees and hears whatever the Believer sees, says, and hears; God goes wherever the Believer goes, and whatever the Believer does to his body, he is actually doing it to God’s Temple; and one day he will be called to give an account of all of this, i.e., how he has handled and used God’s Temple, to God, and will be and judged accordingly (2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Peter 4:17), not for salvation, but for eternal rewards.

    From the next article we will look up the various metaphors used in the Bible for the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, and what they imply.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

निर्गमन 12:3-4 - प्रभु की मेज़ और मण्डली में एकता

हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है कि किस प्रकार से शैतान ने प्रभु भोज को, परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हुई उससे संबंधित बातों और निर्देशों को तोड़-मरोड़ के बताने और उनका दुरुपयोग करने के द्वारा, बिगाड़ करके भ्रष्ट कर दिया है, उसे एक व्यर्थ और अर्थहीन परंपरा में परिवर्तित कर दिया है। शैतान ऐसा मुख्यतः दो बातों के कारण करने पाया है। पहली यह कि अधिकांश ईसाइयों या मसीहियों को स्वयं परमेश्वर का वचन पढ़ने और सीखने की कोई परवाह नहीं है; जो भी परमेश्वर के नाम में पुल्पिट से उन्हें बता दिया जाता है, वे उसी से संतुष्ट रहते हैं और उसे ही स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, उसे ही वास्तविकता और सत्य समझ लेते हैं; कभी उन बातों की जांच और पुष्टि परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से नहीं करते हैं। और दूसरी यह कि अधिकांश ईसाइयों या मसीहियों को बाइबल की बातों और निर्देशों के स्थान पर केवल अपने मत, समुदाय, डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपराओं एवं शिक्षाओं का पालन करने में रुचि रहती है। उनकी प्राथमिकता परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करना और उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता नहीं, वरन उनके धार्मिक अगुवों की बातों को मानने, और उन्हें प्रसन्न रखने की रहती है। इसीलिए, यद्यपि संपूर्ण मसीही समाज के विभिन्न मत और समुदायों में प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने की विधि में विविधाताएं हैं, लेकिन फिर भी परंपरा के रूप में उसमें भाग लेते रहने के द्वारा, ईसाई या मसीही लोग इसी गलतफहमी का निर्वाह करते रहते हैं कि ऐसा करने से वे परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश पाने के लिये योग्य हो गए हैं - जो कि बाइबल के अनुसार कदापि सत्य नहीं है; शैतान और उसके दूतों द्वारा फैलाया गया भ्रम है। 

हमने पिछले लेखों में फसह तथा प्रभु भोज से संबंधित कुछ प्रतीकों को भी देखा था, और यह भी देखा था कि आम धारणा के विपरीत, कि प्रभु भोज का आरंभ नए नियम में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा किया गया, इसमें भाग लेने के प्ररूप पुराने नियम में फसह के भोज में भी पाए जाते हैं, और प्रभु यीशु ने इसी फसह के भोज को मनाते हुए इस ‘प्रभु भोज’ की स्थापना की थी। हमने पिछले लेख में इसी प्रथम प्ररूप, निर्गमन 12 की बातों के तात्पर्यों और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के लिये उससे मिलने वाली शिक्षाओं को भी देखना आरंभ किया था। हमने इस अध्याय के पद 1 और 2 से देखा था कि जिस प्रकार से फसह का भोज केवल परमेश्वर के चुने हुए लोगों, इस्राएल ही के लिये था, जिनके लिये यह एक नई शुरुआत को भी दिखाता था; उसी प्रकार से प्रभु की मेज़ या प्रभु भोज भी केवल उनके लिये ही है जो “एक नई सृष्टि” हो गए हैं, किसी मत या समुदाय की रीतियों, परंपराओं, अनुष्ठानों के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, अपितु अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु यीशु को अपना व्यक्तिगत उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने तथा प्रभु को अपना जीवन समर्पित कर देने के द्वारा; अर्थात वे नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी बन गए हैं।

आज से हम फसह के लिये बलि किये जाने वाले मेमने के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे, और देखेंगे कि उस बलि के मेमने के गुण किस प्रकार से प्रभु यीशु के साथ, जो "...परमेश्वर का मेम्ना है, जो जगत के पाप उठा ले जाता है” (यूहन्ना 1:29), और जो कि जगत की उत्पत्ति के समय से बलिदान हुआ है (प्रकाशितवाक्य 13:8), मेल रखते हैं।

 

निर्गमन 12:3-4 - पद 3 के आरंभिक वाक्य से हम देखते हैं कि यहाँ फिर से दोहराया गया है कि फसह से संबंधित परमेश्वर के निर्देश सभी के लिये नहीं किन्तु “इस्राएल की सारी मण्डली से इस प्रकार कहो”, अर्थात फसह परमेश्वर के चुने हुए लोगों के लिये था, जैसा कि हम पिछले लेख में भी देख चुके हैं। पद 4 में हम देखते हैं कि एक घराने के लिये एक ही मेमना बलिदान किया जाना था; और यदि घराना छोटा हो तो पड़ौस के घराने के साथ मिलकर एक घराने के समान उस एक मेमने का उपयोग किया जाना था। दूसरे शब्दों में, बलिदान का एक मेमना एक घराने के लिये पर्याप्त था, बल्कि आवश्यकता से भी अधिक था, क्योंकि आगे चलकर पद 10 में लिखा है कि भोज खा लेने के बाद मेमने का जो भाग बच जाए उसे आग में जला दिया जाए। हम इफिसियों 2:19-22 से देखते हैं कि नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी, वे चाहे यहूदियों में से थे या अन्य-जातियों में से, वे सभी मसीह यीशु में विश्वास के द्वारा एक घराना, प्रभु की एक देह बना दिए गए हैं; और साथ मिलकर अब ‘परमेश्वर का घराना’ (पद 19), ‘परमेश्वर का निवास-स्थान’ (पद 22) बनाए गए हैं। देश के आकार और जनसंख्या के आधार पर यदि देखें तो यहूदी या इस्राएली, अपने सभी, सामूहिक अन्य-जाति पड़ौसियों की तुलना में, एक छोटा राष्ट्र थे और हैं। किन्तु अब मसीह में लाए गए विश्वास के द्वारा एक-दूसरे के पड़ौस में रहने वाले ये एक छोटे और एक बड़े घराने के लोग मसीह में एक घराना कर दिये गए हैं जिससे कि वे एक फसह के भोज में, एक प्रभु भोज में भाग ले सकें। यहाँ पर इफिसियों के इस खण्ड में प्रयुक्त एक वचन शब्दों पर ध्यान कीजिए - ‘घराना’ (पद 19), और ‘निवास-स्थान’ (पद 22)। यहूदी और अन्य-जाति विश्वासियों के एक किये जाने की प्रक्रिया को इससे पहले के पदों में, इफिसियों 2:11-18 में समझाया गया है। इस एकता की इच्छा की गई है और आशा रखी गई है (इफिसियों 4:13), और अन्ततः एक ही “कलीसिया” होगी जिसे मसीह की देह (इफिसियों 5:23), और मसीह की दुलहन (इफिसियों 5:25-26) कहा गया है - पुनः एक वचन का प्रयोग किया गया है।

 

फसह के भोज के लिये परमेश्वर द्वारा एक घराने के लिये एक ही मेमना ठहराया गया था - चाहे वह संयुक्त घराना ही क्यों न हो। पापों के दासत्व के छुटकारे के लिये भी “एक संयुक्त घराने” के लिये परमेश्वर की ओर से एक ही बलि का मेमना - प्रभु यीशु मसीह ठहराया गया है, जो आवश्यकता से भी अधिक है। प्रभु यीशु के अतिरिक्त और कोई भी व्यक्ति, वस्तु, या विधि शैतान के चंगुल से छुड़ाने के लिए उपयुक्त अथवा आवश्यक नहीं है, और न ही किसी की इच्छा की जानी चाहिए, और न ही कोई या कुछ और यह छुटकारा देने पाएगा (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:6-10)।

फसह परमेश्वर के लोगों को प्रोत्साहित करता था कि वे दासत्व से छुटकारे के लिये केवल परमेश्वर के प्रावधान एवं विधि पर भरोसा रखें, चाहे परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित की गई बात उन्हें समझ में आए या न आए। परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई यह विधि दासत्व से बचाए जाने और छुटकारा पाने के लिये एक साथ एक घराने के समान जुड़कर परमेश्वर के इंतज़ाम में सम्मिलित होने के लिये भी प्रोत्साहित करती थी। इसी प्रकार से, प्रभु की मेज़ या प्रभु भोज भी उन्हीं के लिये है जो अन्य किसी पर भरोसा नहीं करते हैं, केवल प्रभु यीशु, कलवरी के क्रूस पर उन के बलिदान, उन की मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान पर, पापों तथा उनके दुष्परिणामों से छुड़ाए जाने के लिए विश्वास रखते हैं, चाहे परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया यह इंतज़ाम उनकी समझ में आए या न आए। किन्तु वे लोग जो प्रभु के साथ भी निभाना चाहते हैं और संसार तथा सांसारिकता को भी प्रसन्न रखना चाहते हैं, उन्हें प्रभु की मेज़ से कोई लाभ नहीं होगा, परन्तु वे ऐसा करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर को रिस दिलाते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:21-22)। इस प्रकार से हम सीखते हैं कि प्रभु भोज यानि कि प्रभु की मेज़ केवल प्रभु के लोगों के लिये है, जो साथ मिलकर एकता में परमेश्वर की एक ही कलीसिया, उसका घराना, उसका निवास-स्थान होकर रहने और एकता को बढ़ावा देने की प्रवृत्ति और लालसा रखते हैं। जो लोग कलीसिया में विभाजन और गुट-बाज़ी करते हैं, उसे बढ़ावा देते हैं, मसीही विश्वासियों में विभाजन और गुटों को बनाए रखते हैं, प्रभु की मेज़ के संदर्भ में पवित्र आत्मा ने पौलुस के द्वारा उनकी तीव्र भर्त्सना की है (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-22), एक प्रकार से उनके प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने को व्यर्थ और निष्फल कहा है।

 

अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं, तथा आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

Exodus 12:3-4 - Lord’s Table & Unity in the Church

We have seen in the previous articles how Satan has corrupted the Holy Communion by manipulating and misusing the things and instructions written about it in the Word of God, and turned it into a vain, meaningless ritual. Satan has been allowed to get away with all his devious machinations, due to two main reasons; firstly, because the majority of “Christians” do not bother to study and learn God’s Word for themselves, they are content with receiving and accepting as truth whatever is dished out to them from the pulpit in the name of God, never bothering to cross-check and verify the teachings from the Bible before accepting them; and, secondly because the majority of “Christians” want to follow the rituals and practices of their sect, group, and denomination, instead of what is written in the Bible. They are more concerned about obeying their religious leaders, than about obeying God and His Word. Therefore, although there is a lot of variation in the method of observance of the Holy Communion across various sects and denominations in Christendom; yet all those participating in the Lord’s Table ritualistically, believe, though erroneously, that by partaking of the Communion, they become acceptable to God and qualified to enter heaven - a patently unBiblical notion foisted upon them by Satan and his minions.

 

We had also understood some symbolisms related to the Passover and the Holy Communion, and saw that contrary to the popular belief that the Holy Communion was started in the New Testament by the Lord Jesus, antecedents of the Communion are present in the Old Testament, as the Passover meal, from which it was derived by the Lord Jesus. In the last article we had started to consider from the first antecedent, Exodus 12, the implications of and applications related to participating in the Lord’s Table. We had seen from verse 1 and 2 of this chapter that just as the Passover meal was meant only for God’s chosen people Israel, for whom it denoted a new beginning, the Holy Communion, or, the Lord’s Table is meant only for those who have ‘become a new creation’ in the Lord, not by virtue of fulfilling any denominational rituals and ceremonies, but by repenting of their sins and accepting the Lord Jesus as their personal savior, have submitted themselves to the Lord; i.e., are Born-Again Christian Believers.

Today we will start considering about the sacrificial lamb of the Passover, and see how the characteristics of this sacrificial lamb corelate with the Lord Jesus, who is “...The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29), and was slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).

 Exodus 12:3-4 - From the opening sentence of verse 3 we see it reiterated that God’s instruction related to the Passover, were meant not for everyone but “for the congregation of Israel”, i.e., the Passover was meant only for God’s chosen people as we have also seen in the previous article. From verse 4 we see that one lamb was to be sacrificed for one household; and if the household was small, they were to join with their neighbors and partake of that one lamb as one household. In other words, one sacrificial lamb was sufficient for one household, rather more than sufficient, since subsequently verse 10 talks of burning in fire any part of the lamb that remained after the meal. We see from Ephesians 2:19-22 that the Born-Again Christian Believers, from the Jews or the Gentiles have been joined together into one household or one body by faith in Lord Jesus, and together have been made the ‘household of God’ (v. 19), to be a ‘dwelling place of God’ (v.22). Going by the size of the nation and their population size, the Jews, or Israel, has been a small nation compared to their neighbors the Gentiles all around, who collectively were a much larger group than the Israelites, i.e., the small and large neighboring families, have been joined together by faith in the Lord into one household, to partake of one Passover meal - the Lord’s Table. Notice the use of singular words, ‘household’ in v.19 and ‘dwelling place’ in v.22 in this passage from Ephesians. This unification of Jews and Gentiles into one body, one household has been explained in the preceding verses - Ephesians 2:11-18. It is desired and looked forward to (Ephesians 4:13), and eventually there will be one “Church” which has been called the Body of Christ (Ephesians 5:23), and the Bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:25-26) - singular terms again.

For the Passover, one lamb for one household - even if it were to be a combined household had been ordained by God. For the deliverance from the bondage of sin of the spiritual household of the Lord, the “one combined household” of God, the one sacrificial Lamb of God - the Lord Jesus is more than sufficient. No one other than the Lord Jesus, nothing besides the Lord Jesus is to be desired or attempted to be used for being set free from the clutches of Satan; nor will anyone or anything else ever serve the purpose (1 Thessalonians 1:6-10).

 

The Passover encouraged the people of God to trust solely in God’s provision and prescribed method for their deliverance from bondage, whether or not they understood what God had ordained. God’s method, also fostered coming together as one household to partake of God’s provision and be saved and delivered from bondage. Similarly, the Lord’s Table, or the Holy Communion is meant for those who trust in no one else, nothing else, but the Lord Jesus and His sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary, His death and resurrection, for being delivered from their sins and its consequences, whether or not one understands God’s doing so. But those who try to live with the Lord, and also appease the world and the systems of the world, do not gain any benefit from the Lord’s Table, instead they provoke the Lord to jealousy (1 Corinthians 10:21-22). So, we learn that the Lord’s Table is meant only for the Lord’s people, who are to live in unity, and foster unity as the one Church of God, His household, His dwelling place. Those who create divisions in the Church or promote and maintain segregation and factionalism amongst the Christian Believers have been severely reprimanded by the Holy Spirit through Paul in context of participating in the Lord’s Table (1 Corinthians 11:17-22), in a way calling their participation vain and inconsequential.

In the next article we will carry on from here and see the subsequent verses from Exodus in the coming articles. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, are a new creation for the Lord, and strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
