बालकों के समान व्यवहार और मानसिकता (2)

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि यदि मसीही विश्वासियों तथा कलीसियाओं में, प्रभु के द्वारा नियुक्त सेवकों के द्वारा वचन की सही सेवकाई नहीं की जाती है, तो उनमें आत्मिक कुपोषण आ जाता है। इस आत्मिक कुपोषण के कारण वे आत्मिक रीति से दुर्बल रह जाते हैं और उनकी आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी ठीक और अपेक्षित नहीं होती है। फिर, इस अपरिपक्वता के कारण इफिसियों 4:11 में दी गई चारों हानिकारक बातें उनमें घर कर जाती हैं, और उनकी आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी को और भी अधिक बाधित कर देती हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने इस आत्मिक कुपोषण और अपरिपक्वता के कुछ लक्षण 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-4 से देखे थे। आज हम बाइबल में दिए गए एक दूसरे स्थान पर इसी आत्मिक कुपोषण और अपरिपक्वता के कुछ और लक्षणों को देखेंगे। 

2. इस के विषय में हमें बहुत सी बातें कहनी हैं, जिन का समझना भी कठिन है; इसलिये कि तुम ऊंचा सुनने लगे हो। समय के विचार से तो तुम्हें गुरु हो जाना चाहिए था, तौभी क्या यह आवश्यक है, कि कोई तुम्हें परमेश्वर के वचनों की आदि शिक्षा फिर से सिखाए ओर ऐसे हो गए हो, कि तुम्हें अन्न के बदले अब तक दूध ही चाहिए। क्योंकि दूध पीने वाले बच्‍चे को तो धर्म के वचन की पहचान नहीं होती, क्योंकि वह बालक है। पर अन्न सयानों के लिये है, जिन के ज्ञानेन्‍द्रिय अभ्यास करते करते, भले बुरे में भेद करने के लिये पक्के हो गए हैं। (इब्रानियों 5:11-14)।

यहाँ पर दिए गए अपरिपक्वता के लक्षण हैं:

* उनमें वचन की बातों और शिक्षाओं को सुनने और सीखने में रुचि नहीं होती है; वे उन बातों को “ऊँचा सुनते” हैं।

* उनकी आत्मिक दशा, आत्मिक परिपक्वता, बाइबल की शिक्षाओं और बातों की समझ, आदि, उनके मसीही विश्वास में आने की अवधि के अनुपात में नहीं देखी जाती है।

* उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन की आदि शिक्षाओं, मसीही विश्वास की आधारभूत बातों का ही बोध नहीं रहता है। वे उन बातों को भूल गए हैं, उन्हें उन बातों को फिर से सिखाने की आवश्यकता होती है।

* वे केवल बिलकुल आरंभिक शिक्षाएं ही समझ और ग्रहण करने पाते हैं; ठोस या गूढ़ शिक्षाओं को समझ पाना या उनका पालन करना उनके लिए संभव नहीं होता है।

* उन्हें “धर्म के वचन” की पहचान नहीं होती है; एक प्रकार से यह इफिसियों 4:14 में लिखे “हर एक बयार से उछाले, और इधर-उधर घुमाए जाते हों” का दोहराया जाना है। वचन की सही पहचान न होने के कारण, वे जाँचे और समझे बिना ही हर प्रकार की शिक्षाओं को स्वीकार कर लेते हैं।

* वे आत्मिक बातों में भले और बुरे में अंतर पहचानने में अक्षम होते हैं।

आत्मिक बालक-अवस्था के उपरोक्त लक्षण प्रकट करते हैं कि मसीही विश्वासियों में भी अधिकांश लोग अभी इस बालक-अवस्था से ऊपर नहीं बढ़ने पाए हैं। इसका कारण इब्रानियों 5:14 के मध्य भाग में दिया गया है: “...जिन के ज्ञानेन्‍द्रिय अभ्यास करते करते...”; ये लोग अपरिपक्व या बालक इसलिए हैं क्योंकि ये मसीही जीवन और उसमें बढ़ोतरी से संबंधित विभिन्न परिस्थितियों से होकर नहीं निकलते हैं। ये प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी होने, उसके लिए कुछ करने में रुचि नहीं रखते हैं; बस शिथिल और निष्क्रिय होकर प्रभु और उसकी आशीषों को अपने लिए प्रयोग करते रहते हैं। यदि ये उन आरंभिक मसीही विश्वासियों के समान प्रेरितों 2:42 की चारों बातों में लौलीन रहते, तो उन्हीं आरंभिक विश्वासियों के समान प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी भी होते, और मसीही जीवन के विभिन्न अनुभवों में से होकर निकलते हुए आत्मिक परिपक्वता में भी बढ़ते चले जाते हैं, और अनुभव से ही परमेश्वर की भली और भावती इच्छा को भी जानने पाते हैं (रोमियों 12:2)।

इस आत्मिक अपरिपक्वता के कारण ये लोग जिन बातों में शैतान द्वारा फँसा लिए जाते हैं, उन्हें हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे। किन्तु यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो उपरोक्त 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-4 और इब्रानियों 5:11-14 के आधार पर अपनी आत्मिक परिपक्वता की स्थिति को पहचान लीजिए, और उसके अनुसार जो भी आवश्यक निर्णय हों, उन्हें लेकर अपने जीवन में कार्यान्वित कर लीजिए। आप जितना प्रभु के वचन और शिक्षाओं में बढ़ेंगे, जितना वचन और प्रभु के आज्ञाकारी रहेंगे, आप उतने अधिक परिपक्व और प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी और अपने लिए आशीषित होते चले जाएंगे।

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Thinking and Behaving like a Child (2)

In the previous article we had seen that if amongst the Christian Believers and the churches, the ministry of God's Word is not done diligently and faithfully by the Lord appointed ministers, then there is a spiritual malnourishment. Because of this malnourishment they become spiritually weak and fail to grow adequately or properly. Therefore, the four harmful things given in Ephesians 4:11 settle down in them, further obstructing their spiritual growth. In the last article we had seen the signs of this spiritual malnourishment from 1 Corinthians 3:1-4. Today, we will see some more signs of this spiritual malnourishment and growth, from another place in the Bible.

2. of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:11-14).

The signs and indicators of immaturity and being child-like, given here are:

* They have no or very little interest in listening to spiritual things, they have “become dull of hearing.”

* Their spiritual condition, spiritual maturity, understanding and following of the things of the Bible, etc., is not in proportion to their time since they have come to the Christian Faith; they are lagging far behind.

* They do not have the knowledge or understanding of the initial principles of Christian life and Faith. They have forgotten them and have to be taught over and over again.

* They are able to comprehend only the very fundamental Christian teachings; it is difficult or impossible for them to understand or follow the “solid” or deep things.

* They are unable to understand and partake in “the word of righteousness”; this is like getting “tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine” of Ephesians 4:14. Not having a proper understanding of the teachings of God’s Word, they accept all kinds of teachings, without examining and evaluating them.

* They are unable to discern good or evil about spiritual things.

The above characteristics and signs of being children, or spiritually immature indicate that in Christendom and even amongst Christian Believers, most have not yet grown out of this child-like immaturity. The reason for this is given in the mid-part of Hebrews 5:14 “...who by reason of use have their senses exercised...” These people are immature or child-like because they have not gone through the various situations and circumstances related to Christian living and growth. They are not interested in doing anything for the Lord, for being used by Him. All they want is to be inactive, stay-put at a place, and keep begging for the Lord’s blessings and using them up for themselves. If they had been steadfastly involved in the four things of Acts 2:42, as the initial Christian Believers were, then like those Believers they too would have been useful for the Lord, and because of passing through various experiences and situations, as the initial ones had, would have grown in spiritual maturity too, and through their experiences would learn to know the perfect will of God for them (Romans 12:2).

Because of this spiritual immaturity, the way Satan traps them in various ways, we will see in the next article. But if you are a Christian Believer, then examine and evaluate your state of spiritual maturity through aforementioned 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 and Hebrews 5:11-14; take whatever appropriate decisions have to be taken, and implement them in your life. The more you grow in the Word and teachings of the Lord, the more obedient you are to His Word, the more mature and useful for the Lord you will be, and therefore that much more blessed.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

    पिछले लेख में हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में दिए गए आत्मिक वरदानों को देखना आरंभ किया था। यहाँ दिए गए 9 विभिन्न वरदानों: “बुद्धि का बातें”; “ज्ञान की बातें”; “विश्वास”; “चंगा करने का वरदान”; “सामर्थ्य के काम करने की शक्ति”; “भविष्यवाणी करने की शक्ति”; “आत्माओं की परख”; “अनेक प्रकार की भाषा”; “भाषाओं का अर्थ बताना” में से हमने पहले पाँच के बारे में देखा था। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा के सभी वरदान किसी के निज प्रयोग अथवा लाभ के लिए नहीं हैं, वरन, सभी के लिए और मसीही विश्वासियों की मण्डली की उन्नति और लाभ के लिए हैं। जिसे भी उसकी सेवकाई के लिए जो भी वरदान परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रदान किया है, उसे वह वरदान पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, सभी मसीही विश्वासियों के लाभ के लिए प्रयोग करना है, अपने लिए नहीं। आज हम शेष चार में से दो वरदानों के बारे में कुछ विवरण देखेंगे:

• “भविष्यवाणी करने की शक्ति”: मूल यूनानी भाषा के जिस शब्द का अनुवाद “भविष्यवाणी” किया गया है, उसका शब्दार्थ न केवल भविष्य की बातें बताना होता है, वरन प्रेरणा पाकर औरों के सामने, या औरों की उपस्थिति में बोलना या बताना भी होता है। 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:3 में इसी शब्द को, केवल भविष्य की बातें ही नहीं, वरन “”... मनुष्यों से उन्नति, और उपदेश, और शान्ति की बातें” कहने के लिए भी प्रयोग किया गया है। इसी प्रकार से लूका 22:64 में, जब पकड़वाए जाने के बाद सैनिकों द्वारा प्रभु का उपहास किया जा रहा था, तब इसी शब्द का उपयोग वर्तमान में जारी घटना में “बूझने” या “पता लगाकर बताने” के लिए भी हुआ है, “और उस की आंखें ढांपकर उस से पूछा, कि भविष्यद्वाणी कर के बता कि तुझे किसने मारा”। इसी प्रकार से इस शब्द को बाइबल में विभिन्न स्थानों में उसके भिन्न अर्थों के साथ उपयोग किया गया है। पवित्र आत्मा न केवल कुछ लोगों को भविष्य की बातें बताने की सामर्थ्य देता है (प्रेरितों 21:9-11), वरन कुछ लोगों को परमेश्वर की बातें औरों के सामने या औरों की उपस्थिति में बोलने की भी सामर्थ्य देता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:4,5; 13:9; 14:3-5, 24, 31, 39; प्रकाशितवाक्य 11:3), और इन सभी स्थानों पर, यही शब्द उपयोग किया गया है। इसलिए “भविष्यवाणी करने की शक्ति” केवल भविष्य में होने वाली घटनाओं को बताने का वरदान नहीं है, वरन परमेश्वर का प्रतिनिधि बनकर परमेश्वर के वचन को औरों के सामने बोलने और प्रचार करने का वरदान भी है। 

• “आत्माओं की परख”: पहली कलीसिया की स्थापना, और प्रभु के शिष्यों द्वारा सुसमाचार प्रचार के आरंभ होने के साथ ही शैतान की ओर से झूठे प्रचारकों ने भी अपना काम करना आरंभ कर दिया (1 यूहन्ना 2:18; 4:1)। प्रभु यीशु के नाम से प्रचार को कमाई का साधन बना कर प्रयोग करने वाले (रोमियों 16:18; फिलिप्पियों 3:18, 19), और गलत शिक्षाओं के देने वाले (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:2; 2 पतरस 2:1; 2 यूहन्ना 1:7) भी मण्डलियों और लोगों में फैलने लगे, और इन बातों तथा अपने ऐसे ही अन्य कार्यों के द्वारा लोगों को बहकाने लगे, गलत शिक्षाओं और अनुचित बातों में पाठ-भ्रष्ट करने लगे थे। उस समय में, जब आज के समान लिखित वचन लोगों के हाथ में नहीं था, अधिकांशतः मसीही जीवन की शिक्षाएं, सुसमाचार प्रचार, और प्रभु की बातों का प्रसार, मौखिक प्रचार और संबोधनों के द्वारा होता था। ऐसे में, इन शैतान के लोगों के झूठ और गलत शिक्षाओं को तुरंत ही परखने, पहचानने, और प्रकट करने के लिए, वचन को जानने, जाँचने, और सच को उजागर करने की शक्ति पवित्र आत्मा लोगों को देता था, जिससे वे झूठ को प्रकट कर के लोगों को गलत शिक्षाओं से बचा सकें (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29)। यह कार्य आज भी पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य से कुछ लोग विभिन्न तरीकों से करते रहते हैं, अन्यथा गलत शिक्षाओं की भरमार में मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए सत्य की पहचान करना बहुत कठिन हो जाएगा। 

 

    हम 2 कुरिन्थियों 12:7-11 में उल्लेखित वरदानों में से शेष दो, जो “अन्य-भाषा” से सम्बन्धित हैं – अन्य-भाषा बोलना और अन्य-भाषा का अर्थ बताना को अगले लेख में देखेंगे।

English Translation

Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 3

 

    From the previous article we had started to see about the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11. Of the 9 different gifts, “word of wisdom,” “word of knowledge,” “faith,” “healing,” “miracles,” “prophecy,” “discerning of spirits,” “different kinds of tongues,” and “interpretation of tongues” mentioned in these 5 verses, we had seen about the first 5. We had also seen that none of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for any person’s personal use or benefit; rather, all the gifts are meant for the help and benefit of everyone in the Church. Whichever gift anyone has received for their God assigned work and ministry, he has to use that gift under the guidance of God the Holy Spirit, for the benefit of the Christian Believers, not for himself alone. Today we will see about two from the remaining four gifts:

• “Prophecy”: The word used in the original Greek language, that has been has translated as “prophecy” means “to speak forth” - not only in time, i.e., tell about future events or things, but also to be inspired to speak before, or in the presence of others, or tell others. The same word has been used in 1 Corinthians 14:3 “But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men” to convey that to prophecy also means to edify, exhort, and comfort others; and not only to tell about future things. Similarly, in Luke 22:64, when the soldiers were mocking the Lord Jesus caught for crucifixion, the same word has been used "Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?" with the meaning of telling about an ongoing event. At other places too, in the Bible, this word has been used in its various meanings. The Holy Spirit not only gives the power to tell about the future events to some people (Acts 21:9-11), but also gives the power and ability to speak the things of God before, i.e., while in presence of others (1 Corinthians 11:4,5; 13:9; 14:3-5, 24, 31, 39; Revelation 11:3), and for all these, the same word has been used. So, the gift of “prophecy” is not just the gift of foretelling events, but also the gift of speaking and preaching God’s Word as the spokesman of God, before others.

• “Discerning of spirits”: Along with the establishing of the first Church, and the beginning of the preaching of the gospel by the Lord’s disciples at various places, false preachers and teachers from Satan too started their work (1 John 2:18; 4:1), those who preach wrong doctrines and false teachings started to grow and spread (2 Corinthians 4:2; 2 Peter 2:1; 2 John 1:7), and people started to use the name of the Lord Jesus and preaching in His name as a means of earning money (Romans 16:18; Philippians 3:18, 19), and through all these and other similar things started to mislead and beguile people into wrong ways. At that time, when, unlike today, the people did not have the written Word in their hands, and usually all preaching about Christian Living, preaching the Gospel, and spreading the teachings of the Lord was done through oral preaching and addressing people. In such a situation, the Holy Spirit gave the ability to some people to immediately recognize the lies and false teachings of Satan and expose them to others. The Holy Spirit also gave the power and ability to know, examine, and teach God’s Word and to expose the false teachings, so that they could expose the lies and save others from wrong teachings and false doctrines (1 Corinthians 14:29). This work is done even today by some people under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit; else in the rampant spread of the wrong doctrines and false teachings amongst Christian Believers today, it would become very difficult to discern the truth.

 

    In the next article we will consider the remaining two gifts mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, related to “tongues” – speaking in tongues and interpreting tongues.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. हमने अपने इस अध्ययन में 2 इतिहास 29 अध्याय से देखा है कि उस प्रकार के आराधक में परिवर्तित होने के लिए, जिन्हें परमेश्वर ढूँढ़ रहा है, अर्थात, वे जो आत्मा और सच्चाई से उसकी आराधना करते हैं, मसीही विश्वासी को चार क़दमों से होकर जाना पड़ता है। इनमें से पहल तीन कदम परमेश्वर की महिमा और योग्य एवं उचित रीति से आराधना करने के लिए अपनी व्यक्तिगत तैयारी करने, शुद्ध और पवित्र होने से संबंधित हैं। जब ये पहले तीन कदम योग्य और सही रीति से पूरे हो जाते हैं, तब ही व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की आराधना करने के चौथे कदम को उठाने पाता है। पहले तीन क़दमों की उचित और पर्याप्त तैयारी के बिना, वह योग्य रीति से परमेश्वर की आराधना नहीं करने पाएगा, और उन आशीषों एवं अनन्त प्रतिफलों को प्राप्त नहीं कर सकेगा जो सच्ची आराधना से आते हैं। यह चौथा कदम चार चरणों से होकर पूरा होता है, और पिछले लेख में हमने इसके पहले चरण के बारे में 2 इतिहास 29:20-24 से देखा था - पापी होने के सार्वजनिक अंगीकार, उसके लिए परमेश्वर से क्षमा याचना; स्वयं को तथा अपने जीवन में प्रभाव और नियंत्रण रखने वाली सभी बातों को परमेश्वर के समक्ष लाकर, उसकी अधीनता में दे देना। जब भी विश्वासी से पाप हो जाए, उसे प्रभु के पास आना है, पश्चाताप के साथ उसे प्रभु के सामने मान लेना है कि वह कहाँ पर और किस बात में, कैसे गिर गया, और प्रभु से उसके लिए क्षमा माँगनी है। केवल वे ही जो जब भी आवश्यकता हो, तब तुरंत ही सहायता पाने के लिए परमेश्वर के निकट आने के इस मनसा और साहस को रखते हैं, वे ही परमेश्वर की आराधना करने, उसकी महिमा और गुणानुवाद करने का मन और योग्यता भी रखते हैं। इस पहले चरण के बाद दूसरा चरण आता है, जब आराधना का आरंभ होता है।

चरण - 2 - 2 इतिहास 29:21-26 - जैसे परमेश्वर ने ठहराया है केवल उसी  प्रकार से आराधना करने वाले: हम यहाँ पर देखते हैं कि वेदी पर पाप-बलि चढ़ाने के लिए जब पशुओं को बलि किया जा रहा था (पद 20-24), हिजकिय्याह ने लेवियों को संगीत वाद्यों के साथ परमेश्वर के भवन में खड़ा कर दिया, आराधना आरंभ करने के लिए बिलकुल तैयार (पद 25-26)। लेकिन ध्यान दें कि पद 25 में स्पष्ट लिखा है कि आराधना कि इस तैयारी को “उसने दाऊद और राजा के दर्शी गाद, और नातान नबी की आज्ञा के अनुसार जो यहोवा की ओर से उसके नबियों के द्वारा आई थी…” किया। बलिदानों और भेंटों का चढ़ाया जाना, आराधना का किया जाना केवल परमेश्वर की उस आज्ञा के अनुसार ही होना था, जो उसके नबियों के द्वारा परमेश्वर ने दी थी। मनुष्यों के बनाए हुए किसी भी रीति-रिवाज़ या तरीकों के उपयोग का कोई स्थान, कोई महत्व नहीं था; वे चाहे कितने भी तर्क-संगत, श्रद्धापूर्ण, और प्रसन्न करने वाले प्रतीत क्यों न हों, किन्तु परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य आराधना और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के निर्वाह में उनकी कोई भूमिका, कोई महत्व नहीं है।

परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होने के लिए पूर्ण समर्पण और आज्ञाकारिता के मूल सिद्धांत का पालन करना, वचन में कई बार दिखाया और सिखाया गया है। हम इसके कुछ उदाहरणों को देखते हैं:

• निर्गमन में, अध्याय 35 से आरंभ करके, जहाँ पर परमेश्वर मूसा को मिलाप वाले तम्बू और उसके विभिन्न भागों तथा सामान के निर्माण के बारे में, तथा कौन लोग उन्हें बनाएँगे, आदि के बारे में निर्देश देना आरंभ करता है, 40 अध्याय के अन्त तक, जहाँ तम्बू को खड़ा किया और आराधना को आरंभ जाता है, परमेश्वर ने बारंबार मूसा से ज़ोर दे कर कहा है कि हर बात, हर कार्य, ठीक उसी प्रकार से किया जाना है जैसा उसने बताया है। किसी को भी परमेश्वर के कहे से अलग कुछ भी करने की कोई अनुमति नहीं है; तम्बू और उसके सामान को वैसे ही बना कर खड़ा करना है जैसा बताया गया है।

• राजा शाऊल ने स्वतः ही परमेश्वर का याजक और नबी होने की भूमिका भी अपने ऊपर ले ली, और शमूएल के स्थान पर, युद्ध में जाने से पहले, स्वयं ही बलि चढ़ा दी, क्योंकि शमूएल को नियुक्त समय पर आने में विलम्ब हो रहा था। परमेश्वर ने इसे स्वीकार नहीं किया, और उस से कह दिया कि उसकी अधीरता और अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण, उसका राज्य उस से ले लिया जाएगा (1 शमूएल 13:11-14)।

• लेकिन शाऊल ने इससे सबक नहीं सीखा, और फिर से परमेश्वर की वैसी ही अनाज्ञाकारिता कर दी। शमूएल में होकर परमेश्वर ने शाऊल से कहा था कि अमालेकियों का पूर्णतः सत्यानाश कर दे, उनकी किसी भी चीज़ को छोड़े नहीं (1 शमूएल 15:3)। लेकिन शाऊल ने, मनुष्यों के भय में आकर, अच्छे दिखने वाले पशुओं को बचा लिया, कहने को, “परमेश्वर को बलिदान” करने के लिए (1 शमूएल 15:15)। परिणामस्वरूप, उसे अपने राज्य से हाथ धोना पड़ा (1 शमूएल 15:16-23)।

    परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य आराधना करने का मूल सिद्धांत, दस आज्ञाओं के दिए जाने के बाद, निर्गमन 20:23-26 में दिया गया है। यहाँ पर पद 25 और 26 पर विशेष ध्यान दीजिए। परमेश्वर विशेष रीति से कहता है कि उसकी आराधना के लिए जो भी वेदी बनाई जाए वह या तो मिट्टी की हो अन्यथा स्वाभाविक पत्थरों की हो, अन्य किसी प्रकार की नहीं। यदि पत्थरों का प्रयोग किया जाए, तो कोई भी मनुष्य उन्हें तराशने के लिए उन पर अपना कोई औज़ार प्रयोग न करे। क्योंकि उन्हें उस स्वरूप से जिसमें परमेश्वर ने उन्हें बनाया है, उससे और अधिक सुन्दर बनाने के प्रयासों में, वे उन्हें परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में अशुद्ध, और परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य कर देंगे; फिर उस वेदी पर जो भी अर्पित किया जाएगा वह भी अशुद्ध और परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य होगा।

एक वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाया हुए मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर की आराधना करने के लिए अपने आप को तैयार करना होता है। जिस प्रकार से लेवी मंदिर में अपने संगीत वाद्यों के साथ आराधना आरंभ करने के लिए तैयार खड़े थे, उसी प्रकार से विश्वासी को भी उसके अन्दर जो कुछ है, उस सब के साथ परमेश्वर के वचन में दी गई उस की निर्धारित विधि के अनुसार आराधना करने के लिए तैयार होना चाहिए। इसका अर्थ है कि उसे परमेश्वर के वचन से भली-भांति अवगत होना चाहिए, और मनुष्य के नहीं परमेश्वर के वचन का आज्ञाकारी होना चाहिए। उसे समझना चाहिए कि सच्ची आराधना क्या है, और बाइबल के बाहर की बातों, तथा मनुष्यों द्वारा बनाई गई रीतियों और कार्य-विधियों से बिलकुल अलग रहना चाहिए, वे चाहे कितनी भी आकर्षक लगें, या कोई व्यक्ति उनके बारे में चाहे जो भी कहे। पालन करने का मूल सिद्धांत है, “यदि बात परमेश्वर के वचन में से नहीं है, तो फिर वह शैतान की ओर से है”, इसलिए कभी भी बाइबल से बाहर की किसी भी बात को करने के लिए कोई समझौता नहीं करें। परमेश्वर की आराधना, उपासना, और उससे संगति रखने के लिए जो बाइबल नहीं कहती है, वैसी किसी बात का पालन नहीं करें।

जो मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य आराधना करना चाहता है, उसे यह परख कर देखना चाहिए कि क्या वह परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित रीति से, उसके द्वारा उसके नबियों में होकर दिए गए उसके वचन के अनुसार आराधना कर रहा है कि नहीं, जैसा कि 2 इतिहास 29:25 में लिखा है। इसके अतिरिक्त जो भी हो, वह परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं है, और योग्य रीति से परमेश्वर की आराधना करना नहीं है। आज परमेश्वर के नाम में, किन्तु मनुष्यों के बनाए हुए तरीकों और रीतियों के अनुसार, जो बहुत आकर्षक और सुन्दर था श्रद्धापूर्ण प्रतीत होते हैं, बहुत से स्थानों पर परमेश्वर की आराधना की जाती है; किन्तु यह वह नहीं है जो परमेश्वर ने कहा है, बल्कि वह है जो मनुष्यों ने निर्धारित किया है। साथ ही, यह भी बहुत सामान्य रीति से देखने में आता है कि लोग आराधना के नाम पर चिल्लाते हैं, शोर मचाते हैं, उछलते हैं, विचित्र व्यवहार करते हैं, इधर-उधर हिलते-डुलते रहते हैं, एक अव्यवस्था और गड़बड़ी का माहौल बना देते हैं, न कि वैसे व्यवस्थित और क्रम के अनुसार आराधना करने का जैसा वचन कहता है कि आराधना की जाए (1 कुरिन्थियों 14:31-33), और फिर बाइबल के विपरीत अपने इस समस्त मनगढ़ंत व्यवहार को पवित्र आत्मा का प्रकटीकरण कहकर, उसके नाम पर थोप देते हैं; जब कि बाइबल में ऐसी कोई भी बात कहीं पर भी नहीं लिखी गई है। तो फिर इसमें अचरज की क्या बात है कि ऐसे लोग अपनी इस ‘आराधना’ के द्वारा कुछ समय के लिए शारीरिक रोमांच का तो अनुभव कर लेते हैं, किन्तु वे बाइबल से बाहर की शिक्षाओं और रीतियों में ही बढ़ते हैं, मनुष्यों की आज्ञाकारिता में ही उन्नति करते हैं, किन्तु अपने आत्मिक जीवनों में, परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में चलने में, कभी कोई उन्नति नहीं करते हैं। अगले लेख में हम आराधना के आरंभ होने के बारे में देखेंगे।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Being Transformed To Worship (7)

Through our study from 2 Chronicles chapter 29 we have seen that to be transformed into the kind of worshipper that God is looking for, i.e., one who worships God in spirit and in truth, the Christian Believer has to go through four steps. The first three of these steps are about preparing and sanctifying self to glorify God and worship Him worthily. It is only after these three initial steps have been properly completed, that the person can get started with the fourth step of starting to worship God. Without an adequate and proper preparation of the first three steps he will not be able to worship God worthily, and will not be able to enjoy the blessings and eternal fruits of worshipping. This fourth step is completed through four stages, and in the last article we had seen the first stage of the fourth step from 2 Chronicles 29:20-24 - a public confession of being a sinner and seeking God’s forgiveness for them; bringing self and every controlling influence in life to the Lord and putting it all under the Lord’s control. As often as a Believer sins, he has to come to the Lord, repent for the sin and acknowledge before the Lord where and for what he has fallen, and ask for the Lord’s forgiveness for it. Only those who enjoy this close confidence of approaching God whenever they need His help, also have the heart and ability to worship God, exalt and glorify Him. After this first stage, comes the second stage of the worship beginning.

Stage 2 – 2 Chronicles 29:21-26 - Get ready to Worship as God has Ordained: Here we see that as the animals for the sin offering are sacrificed and prepared to be offered on the altar as the sin offering (verses 20-24), Hezekiah stations the Levites with the musical instruments in the house of the Lord, ready for beginning the worship (verses 25-26). But note that it clearly says in verse 25 that this was done “...according to the commandment of David, of Gad the king's seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for thus was the commandment of the Lord by his prophets.” The sacrifices and sin offerings were to be made, the worship was to be done only according to God’s commandments given through His prophets. We had seen the same principal in the first three preparatory steps as well; the cleansing, sanctification, preparing to worship, etc., was to be done as had been instructed by God. There is no scope or acceptance of any man-made methods and rituals, however logical, reverential, and pleasing they may seem, in the worship and obedience of the Lord.

 

This basic principle, of complete submission and obedience to the Lord for functioning for Him, has been illustrated many times in God’s Word. Let us look at some examples: 

• In Exodus, from chapter 35 onwards, where God instructs Moses about the Tabernacle, its furnishings and various objects, and the people who will make it, till the end in chapter 40, where the Tabernacle is set up and worship is begun, God repeatedly emphasized to Moses that everything had to be done just the way He had told Moses. Nobody was to do anything other than what God had instructed in making and setting up God’s sanctuary and worshipping God in it.

• King Saul, took upon himself the role of God’s prophet and priest, and in place of Samuel offered sacrifices, before going into battle, since Samuel had delayed in coming at the appointed time. The Lord did not accept this, and told him that his impatience and disobedience had cost him his kingdom (1 Samuel 13:11-14). 

• But Saul did not learn his lesson, and again similarly disobeyed God. God, through Samuel, asked him to utterly destroy the Amalekites and everything of theirs, not save anything at all (1 Samuel 15:3). But Saul, out of fear of men, disobeys God and saves the good-looking animals, ostensibly, to “sacrifice to God” (1 Samuel 15:15). The result was that he lost his kingdom (1 Samuel 15:16-23).

• When King David wanted to move the Ark of the Covenant, from the house of Abinadab, to Jerusalem, 1 Chronicles chapter 13 describes the preparations he made for doing it - all according to his own thinking, and in consultations with other men, without considering what God’s instructions about doing this were. As they started to move the Ark according to their plans, with a lot of singing and praising God, soon disaster struck; and 1 Chronicles 13:11-13 says that this made David angry and afraid, and he would not move the Ark. In 1 Chronicles 15 we find that finally David realises his mistake, what went wrong the first time, and rectifies it. David acknowledges in 1 Chronicles 15:2 that only the Levites are to transport the Ark, and no one else; and then in 1 Chronicles 15:13, he also acknowledges that because they had not done it in the prescribed manner, therefore the anger of the Lord broke upon them. When David does it in the prescribed manner, there was joy all around.

The basic principle of worshipping God in a manner acceptable to Him is given in Exodus, after the giving of the Ten Commandments, in Exodus 20:23-26. Here, take particular note of verses 25 and 26. God specifically says that to worship Him, either an altar of earth, or of natural stones has to be used, nothing else. If stones are used, no man is to use any of his tools on them to hew or carve them, with the intention of beautifying them. For trying to beautify them from the form God has given them, in God’s eyes it is profaning them, therefore, rendering them unacceptable to God; and anything offered on such an altar also becomes profane and unacceptable to God.

The truly Born-Again Christian Believer, has to prepare himself, to worship the Lord God. As the Levites stood ready in the Temple to start worshipping with their musical instruments, the Believer has to be ready with everything within him to worship God in the manner God has given in His Word. This implies that he should be well versed in God’s word, should be obedient to God’s Word not man’s, understand what true worship actually is, and absolutely avoid unBiblical, man-made rituals and practices, no matter how appealing they may seem or what anyone says about them. The basic dictum to keep in mind is, “If it is not from God’s Word, then it is from Satan”, therefore, never to compromise into doing anything that the Bible does not say has to be done to worship God, to fellowship with Him.

The Christian Believer desiring to worship God in a manner acceptable to Him, has to discern and ensure that he worships God in the manner that God has ordained in His Word through His prophets, as it says in 2 Chronicles 29:25. Anything other than that is unacceptable to God, and is not worthily worshipping God. Today, many man-made rituals and procedures are carried out in the name of God for His worship, they may seem very gaudy and attractive, or even reverential, but they actually are not what God has said, but what man has decreed. Also, very commonly people shout, make odd noises, jump, move around doing strange actions, create a chaos and commotion, instead of the orderly and sequential manner in which worship is to be done (1 Corinthians 14:31-33), and all of this unBiblical behavior is then foisted upon the Holy Spirit, calling it as His manifestation; whereas there is nothing written anywhere in the Bible to support this. Is it any surprise then, that these ‘worshippers’, though they have a short-timed physical exhilaration, though they may grow in unBiblical teachings and practices, in obedience to men, but they never grow in their spiritual lives, in their obedience to God. In the next article we will see about the actual worshipping beginning.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

पिछले दो लेखों में 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:28 से अध्ययन करने के बाद, अब हम आगे, 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:29-30 पर आते हैं। प्रेरित पौलुस में होकर पवित्र आत्मा इस पद से मसीही विश्वासियों के सामने प्रभु की मेज़ में अयोग्य रीति से भाग लेने के हानिकारक प्रभावों के बारे में बताता है। कुछ ही समय पहले हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:27 से देखा था कि प्रभु की मेज़ में योग्य रीति से तथा अयोग्य रीति से भाग लेने का क्या अर्थ होता है। संक्षेप में, प्रभु की मेज़ में योग्य रीति से भाग लेना, उसमें किसी अनुष्ठान की रीति या डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा पूरी करने के लिए नहीं, परन्तु उस अभिप्राय और रीति से भाग लेना है जो प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु भोज को स्थापित करते समय निर्धारित किया था। अकसर, वे लोग जो प्रभु भोज में रीति या परंपरा के अनुसार भाग लेते हैं, यह गलत धारणा रखते हैं कि इससे वे धर्मी बन जाते हैं, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो जाते हैं, तथा स्वर्ग में प्रवेश पाने के योग्य हो जाते हैं। किन्तु यह बिल्कुल गलत और बाइबल के विपरीत धारणा है; परमेश्वर के वचन में कहीं भी, न तो प्रभु यीशु द्वारा, न पौलुस अथवा अन्य किसी के द्वारा ऐसा कुछ भी कहा गया, न ही कोई ऐसा अभिप्राय दिया गया है। परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए उद्देश्यों - प्रभु यीशु के जीवन और बलिदान को स्मरण करना तथा उसकी मृत्यु का प्रचार करना, अर्थात उसकी गवाही देना, से भिन्न कोई भी उद्देश्य देना अयोग्य रीति से भाग लेना है।

योग्य रीति से भाग लेने से संबंधित एक और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षा है कि भाग लेने वाले को पहले अपने आप को जाँच लेना चाहिए, अपने पापों, गलतियों, और कमज़ोरियाँ को प्रभु के सामने मान कर, प्रभु से उनके लिए क्षमा माँगनी चाहिए, और तब योग्य रीति से भाग लेना चाहिए। किन्तु इसे भी एक व्यर्थ की परंपरा बना दिया गया है, अब कलीसिया के एकत्रित लोग, अपने पादरी के पीछे-पीछे अनुष्ठान की विधि के अनुसार कही जाने वाली कुछ बातों को दोहराते हैं, अधिकांशतः औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए, न के सार्थक रीति से अथवा किसी श्रद्धा या खराई के साथ, और फिर जाकर मेज़ में भाग ले लेते हैं।

 

हमें 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:29 में अयोग्य रीति से प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के बारे में एक बहुत गंभीर चेतावनी दी गई है - ऐसा करने वाले इस खाने और पीने से अपने ऊपर दण्‍ड लाते हैं। और अगला ही पद, पद 30, हमें बताता है कि ये दण्ड यहीं, इसी पृथ्वी पर ही उनके जीवनों में आने लग जाते हैं, इससे पहले कि व्यक्ति प्रभु यीशु के सामने अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए, और भले या बुरे प्रतिफल पाने के लिए खड़ा हो (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ भी कहा है, जो भी निर्देश दिए हैं, उन्हें कभी भी हल्के में नहीं लिया जा सकता है, और न ही यह मान कर चला जा सकता है कि कोई बात नहीं, अन्ततः इसकी अनदेखी हो जाएगी। नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों, परमेश्वर की संतानों को भी यह धारणा नहीं रखनी चाहिए कि वे परमेश्वर के निर्देशों के साथ समझौते कर सकते हैं, और वे हल्के में बच जाएंगे। बल्कि, 1 पतरस 4:17-18 कहता है कि परमेश्वर के न्याय का आरंभ विश्वासियों से होगा, और 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15 बताता है कि यह काम कितनी बारीकी और गंभीरता से किया जाएगा। विश्वासियों का यह न्याय उनके उद्धार पाने या न पाने के लिए नहीं है, परन्तु अनन्तकाल के प्रतिफलों के लिए है, जैसा कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:15 स्पष्ट कर देता है कि कुछ ऐसे लोग भी होंगे जो उद्धार पाए हुए तो होंगे किन्तु स्वर्ग में अनंतकाल के लिए छूछे हाथ रहेंगे क्योंकि उनके कोई भी कार्य किसी प्रतिफल के योग्य नहीं थे।

 

हम इब्रानियों 10:28-29 से देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर अपने पुत्र के निरादर को हल्के में नहीं लेता है; और यह ठीक भी है, क्योंकि यदि कोई परमेश्वर पुत्र का आदर नहीं करता है तो वह परमेश्वर पिता का आदर भी नहीं करेगा (यूहन्ना 5:23)। इसलिए, मानव जाति के उद्धार के लिए प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए बलिदान के चिह्नों को हल्के में अथवा अनुचित रीति से लेना, परमेश्वर का निरादर करना है, और फिर उसके परिणामों को भी भुगतना पड़ेगा। जो भाग लेते समय प्रभु की देह को नहीं पहचानता है; अर्थात परमेश्वर के निष्पाप, निष्कलंक, पवित्र पुत्र के द्वारा संपूर्ण मानवजाति के समस्त पापों को अपने ऊपर ले लेने और मनुष्यों को उनके पापों के परिणाम से छुड़ाने तथा उद्धार देने के लिए स्वयं पाप बन जाने की गंभीरता और अवर्णनीय महानता को नहीं पहचानते हैं; जो प्रभु भोज में योग्य रीति से भाग लेने की अनिवार्यता को नहीं पहचानते हैं; जो प्रभु यीशु द्वारा अपने शिष्यों के लिए प्रभु भोज की स्थापना करने के महत्व और उद्देश्य को नहीं पहचानते हैं, उन्हें भी फिर अपनी देह में ही इसके परिणामों को भी भुगतना पड़ेगा। और ये परिणाम 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:30 में दिए गए हैं - निर्बलता, रोग, और मृत्यु।

 

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

  

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

The Lord’s Table - Participate Duly Honoring The Lord’s Body

  Having studied from 1 Corinthians 11:28 in the previous two articles, we will now move to 1 Corinthians 11:29-30. The Holy Spirit, through Paul, from this verse onwards puts before the Christian Believers the deleterious consequences of unworthy participation in the Lord’s Table.  A short while back, from 1 Corinthians 11:27, we had seen what participating in the Lord’s Table worthily and unworthily means. Essentially, to participate worthily is to participate in the Lord’s Table, not as a ritual, or a denominational tradition to be fulfilled, but in the manner and with the purpose instituted by the Lord Jesus. Often those who participate in the Holy Communion ritualistically have this false notion that their participation makes them righteous, acceptable to God, and worthy of gaining entry into heaven. But this is an absolutely unBiblical notion; nowhere in God’s Word did the Lord Jesus, or Paul, or anyone else ever say or even imply this. Ascribing any other purpose than what God has given - a remembrance of the Lord Jesus’s life and sacrifice, and proclaiming the Lord’s death, i.e., witnessing for Him, makes it an unworthy participation.

 

Another very important teaching associated with participating worthily is that the participant should first examine himself, confess his sins, errors and short-comings before the Lord, seek His forgiveness for them, and having been forgiven, then to take part in a worthy manner, i.e., with the person’s sins dealt with and his being made worthy by the Lord. But this too has been made into a vain ritual, where the congregation simply repeats after the Pastor, a series of liturgical statements, more perfunctorily, than meaningfully or with any sincerity of heart, and then goes ahead to partake of the Lord’s Table.

In 1 Corinthians 11:29, we have a very serious word of caution for those who do not partake of the Holy Communion in a worthy manner - they eat and drink judgment to themselves. And the next verse, i.e., verse 30 shows us that the effects of this judgment come upon the person here on earth itself, even before the person eventually stands before the Lord Jesus to give an account of his life to the Lord and receive the consequent rewards - good, or bad (Acts 17:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Nothing that God has said and instructed, can ever be taken lightly or presumed that it will be ignored. Even the Born-Again Christian Believers, the children of God cannot presume to compromise with God’s instructions and get away with it lightly. Rather, 1 Peter 4:17-18 say that God’s judgment will begin with the Believers, and 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 tells us how minutely and seriously it will be done. This judgment of the Believers is not to decide on their salvation, but for their eternal rewards, as is made clear in 1 Corinthians 3:15, that there will be some who will remain saved but also remain empty handed for eternity, since none of their works were worthy of any rewards.

We see from Hebrews 10:28-29 that God does not take the dishonoring of His Son lightly; and rightly so, since anyone who does not honor God the Son, does not honor God the Father either (John 5:23). So, dishonoring God by frivolously partaking of the symbols of the Lord’s sacrifice for salvation of mankind, will have its consequences. Those who do not discern the Lord’s body, i.e., do not recognize the seriousness and indescribable magnitude of the pure, sinless, spotless Son of God taking the entire sin of all of mankind upon Himself and becoming sin, to redeem and save all mankind; do not recognize the necessity of worthily participating in the Holy Communion; do not give due importance to the Lord’s purpose in instituting the Holy Communion for His disciples, will have to suffer the consequences in their own body. And these consequences are given in 1 Corinthians 11:30 - weakness, sickness, and even death.

  

If you are a Christian Believer and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
