       प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा फसह खाते समय प्रभु भोज की स्थापना को नए नियम से सीखने के लिए, हमें चारों सुसमाचारों में,  मत्ती 26, मरकुस 14, लूका 22, और यूहन्ना 13 में दिए गए विवरणों को साथ मिलाकर देखना चाहिए, क्योंकि भिन्न लेखकों ने घटनाक्रम के भिन्न भागों को लिखा है। पिछले लेखों में हमने आरंभिक भाग के बारे में देखा है, अर्थात, प्रभु यीशु द्वारा शिष्यों के साथ फसह खाने की तैयारी करने के बारे में। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि यह फसह न तो सांसारिक पारिवारिक रूप में प्रभु यीशु के घर में मनाया गया, न किसी शिष्य के घर में; किन्तु एक विश्वास में स्थापित हुए परिवार के समान, एक बिल्कुल ही भिन्न ऐसे स्थान पर मनाया गया, जिसके बारे में, इसके घटित होने से पहले, शिष्य भी नहीं जानते थे। हम यह इसलिए कह सकते हैं क्योंकि हमने मत्ती 26:17-19 तथा लूका 10-13 से देखा है कि शिष्यों के प्रश्न के उत्तर में, कि फसह की तैयारी कहाँ पर की जाए, प्रभु यीशु न तो किसी का नाम लेते हैं, और न ही उस स्थान का कोई पता बताते हैं, परंतु पतरस और यूहन्ना से कहते हैं कि अमुक स्थान पर जाएं, वहाँ उन्हें एक व्यक्ति घड़ा लिए हुए जाता मिलेगा, उसके पीछे-पीछे जाएं और जिस भी घर में वह जाए उसके स्वामी से जाकर कहें कि उन्हें वह कमरा दिखाए जहाँ पर फसह की तैयारी करनी है। इसलिए, यह बहुत संभव है कि शिष्य न तो इस व्यक्ति से परिचित थे न उस स्थान को जानते थे, जिस घर में उन्हें फसह की तैयारी करनी थी। हम देखते हैं कि मरकुस 14:13-16 तथा लूका 22:10-13 में कुछ वर्णन दिया गया है जो मत्ती और यूहन्ना में नहीं दिया गया है। हमने इसका कुछ भाग पिछले लेख में देखा है, और साथ ही प्रभु के प्रति आज्ञाकारिता के महत्व को भी देखा है, चाहे वह जो कह रहा है वह कितना ही असंभव और असमंजस में डालने वाला प्रतीत हो, और यही लगे कि प्रभु की बात के सफल होने की बजाए असफल होने की संभावना कहीं अधिक है। किन्तु प्रभु के निर्देशों के प्रति बिना कोई प्रश्न किए आज्ञाकारी बने रहने के द्वारा उन सभी को बहुत लाभ भी मिला।

        बाइबल में कहीं पर भी उस व्यक्ति की कोई पहचान नहीं दी गई है, और न ही उसके बारे में कोई संकेत किया गया है, जिसके घर में उन्होंने फसह को खाया था। मरकुस 14:14 और लूका 22:11 से हम बस इतना जानने पाते हैं कि वह प्रभु यीशु को “गुरु” के रूप में जानता था; और जब पतरस तथा यूहन्ना ने उसे प्रभु का संदेश दिया तो उसने बिना कोई प्रश्न किए तुरन्त ही पहले से तैयार किया गया बड़ा सा ऊपर का कमरा उन्हें दिखा दिया; और उन्होंने वहीं पर तैयारी की।

       यह सभी बातें बहुत असमंजस में डालने वाली लगती हैं; प्रभु यीशु इस गुप्त सी रीति से, बिना शिष्यों को कोई विवरण बताए, यह सब क्यों कर रहा था? वास्तविकता में, यह सब करने के पीछे प्रभु की एक बड़ी योजना थी। इसे समझने के लिए हम वापस उस प्रश्न की ओर चलते हैं जिसके साथ यह घटनाक्रम आरंभ हुआ; प्रश्न जो शिष्यों ने प्रभु से पूछा “तू कहां चाहता है, कि हम जा कर तेरे लिये फसह खाने की तैयारी करें?” पहले तीनों सुसमाचार, मत्ती, मरकुस, और लूका एक ही शब्द “तैयारी करें” प्रयोग करते हैं; शिष्य प्रभु से तैयारी करने के स्थान के बारे में पूछ रहे थे। परन्तु वास्तविकता में, प्रभु उन्हें आने वाली घटनाओं के लिए तैयार कर रहा था, जो कुछ ही घंटों में उनके साथ होने वाली थीं; इतनी दिल दहला देने वाली और विश्वास को झकझोर देने वाली कि उनके कारण शिष्य पूरी तरह से हिल जाएंगे और वह कर जाएंगे जिसकी उन्होंने कभी कल्पना भी नहीं की थी।  जैसा हम मत्ती 26:1-2 से देख चुके हैं, प्रभु ने उन्हें पहले से ही जो उसके साथ यरूशलेम में होने वाला था उसके बारे में सचेत कर दिया था कि उसे पकड़वाया जाएगा और क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के लिए सौंप दिया जाएगा। किन्तु बजाए इसके कि वे शिष्य प्रभु से पूछते कि इस भयानक घटना के लिए वे कैसे तैयार हों, उन्हें क्या करना चाहिए, किसी ने भी प्रभु की बात पर ध्यान नहीं दिया, किसी ने उसकी चेतावनी को गंभीरता से नहीं लिया, सभी शिष्यों ने इसे नज़रंदाज़ कर दिया।  अब इन बातों के घटित होने का समय निकट था, कुछ ही घंटे बचे थे, और शिष्य अभी भी प्रभु की कही बात के बारे में उदासीन थे।

        अगले लेख में हम उस बात के बारे में, जिसके लिए प्रभु अपने शिष्यों को सिखा रहा था, तैयार कर रहा था, और आज हमारे लिए उस बात तथा तैयारी के अर्थ और महत्व के बारे देखेंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Lord’s Table - A Preparation For Facing Trials (1)

 

       In studying the establishing of the Holy Communion by the Lord Jesus, at the time when He was eating the Passover with His disciples, from the New Testament, we need to put together the details given in the four Gospels, from Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, and John 13, since different authors have stated different parts of the events. In the previous articles we have seen about the initial part, i.e., about the Lord Jesus getting ready to eat the Passover with His disciples. In the last article we had seen that this Passover was neither celebrated as earthly families at the Lord’s, nor at one of the disciple’s homes; rather, as a family of faith, it was celebrated at a totally different place, about which even the disciples did not know of before this happened. We can say this because we have seen from Matthew 26:17-19 and Luke 22:10-13 that in response to the question of the disciples about where to prepare the Passover, the Lord Jesus neither mentions anyone’s name nor any address, but asks Peter and John to go to a certain place, where they will see a person carrying a pitcher of water; they were to follow him, and whichever house he went into, to ask the owner of that house to show them the room, where they were to prepare for the Passover. Therefore, quite likely, the disciples were neither familiar with the place nor aware of this person in whose house they were going to eat the Passover. We see that Mark 14:13-16 and Luke 22:10-13 have given some details that Matthew and John do not mention. We have seen a part of it in the last article, and seen the importance of obedience to the Lord, even though what He says may sound implausible or perplexing, and may seem more likely to fail than succeed. But unquestioning obedience and fulfilling the Lord’s instructions benefitted them all immensely.

        Nowhere in the Bible, has the identity of the person in whose house they ate that Passover been given or even hinted. From Mark 14:14 and Luke 22:11 all we can learn is that the owner of that house knew the Lord Jesus as “The Teacher”; and when Peter and John conveyed the Lord’s message to him, he immediately, unquestioningly showed them the large upper room, already furnished and made ready for the occasion; and they prepared for the Passover there.

        All of this seems quite perplexing; why was the Lord Jesus doing this in a secretive manner, not laying open the details before His disciples, instructing them sequentially for the occasion? Actually, there is a great purpose the Lord has in doing all this. Let us go back to the initial question the disciples had put to the Lord Jesus, the place where this whole process was put into motion - “Where do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?” The first three Gospels - Matthew, Mark, and Luke, use the same word “prepare” in the question; the disciples were asking where to prepare the Passover. But actually, it was the Lord Jesus who was preparing them for the coming events that would unfold in a few hours; very terrifying and faith shaking events that would shake the disciples to their core and make them do the unthinkable. As we have seen from Matthew 26:1-2 in the earlier articles, the Lord had forewarned them about what was waiting for Him in Jerusalem, that He would be caught and be delivered to be crucified. But instead of asking the Lord what He would have them do to prepare for this terrible event, no one paid heed to this, no one took Him seriously, all the disciples ignored it. Now, the time of these things happening was at hand, just a few hours away, and the disciples were still not concerned about what the Lord had said.

       In the next article we will see about that, which the Lord was preparing His disciples about and teaching them, and see its meaning and importance for us today.

       If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

प्रभु यीशु की कलीसिया; "परमेश्वर का मंदिर"

हम इफिसियों 2:21-22 में देखते हैं कि प्रभु की कलीसिया को परमेश्वर के निवास के लिये उसका मन्दिर कहा गया है। पिछले लेख में हमने मत्ती 16:18 में कलीसिया के निर्माण के विषय प्रभु द्वारा कही गई बातों में से तीसरी बात, कि प्रभु स्वयं ही अपनी कलीसिया का निर्माण कर रहा है को देखना आरम्भ किया था। और क्योंकि कलीसिया अभी निर्माणाधीन है, इसलिए उसमें अपरिपूर्णताऐं, अधूरापन, अर्थात उसके सदस्यों में त्रुटियाँ, आत्मिक अपरिपक्वता आदि  दिखाई देते हैं। आज हम इसी बात को राजा सुलैमान द्वारा बनवाए गए परमेश्वर के मन्दिर की निर्माण प्रक्रिया के उदाहरण द्वारा देखेंगे और समझेंगे।   

इन बातों का एक उत्तम उदाहरण राजा सुलैमान द्वारा परमेश्वर की आराधना के लिए बनवाया गया प्रथम मंदिर का निर्माण कार्य है। परमेश्वर के इस मंदिर के लिए लिखा गया है, “और बनते समय भवन ऐसे पत्थरों का बनाया गया, जो वहां ले आने से पहिले गढ़कर ठीक किए गए थे, और भवन के बनते समय हथौड़े बसूली या और किसी प्रकार के लोहे के औजार का शब्द कभी सुनाई नहीं पड़ा” (1 राजा 6:7)। इस पद की बातों पर ध्यान कीजिए - मंदिर के निर्माण के लिए जो पत्थर तैयार किए गए, वे, खदान में से निकाले जाने के बाद, और मंदिर में लगाए जाने से पहले, एक अलग स्थान पर गढ़कर, तराश कर, काट-छाँट कर ठीक कर लिए जाते थे। जब वे अपने स्थान पर बैठाए जाने के लिए तैयार हो जाते थे, तो उन्हें ला कर उनके निर्धारित स्थान पर स्थापित कर दिया जाता था। हर पत्थर का अपना निर्धारित स्थान था, जिसके आधार पर उसे गढ़, तराश और काट-छाँट कर तैयार किया जाता था। न तो वह पत्थर किसी अन्य का स्थान ले सकता था, और न ही कोई अन्य पत्थर उसका स्थान ले सकता था; और न ही वह पत्थर यह निर्धारित करता था कि वह कहाँ पर लगाया जाना पसंद करेगा। भवन बनाने वाले ने जिसे जहाँ के लिए निर्धारित और तैयार किया था, वह वहीं पर लाकर स्थापित किया जाता था। एक और बहुत अद्भुत बात थी कि उस पत्थर को बस लाकर उसके स्थान पर स्थापित कर दिया जाता था; उसे फिर गढ़ने, तराशने और काटने-छाँटने की, अर्थात अन्य के साथ ताल-मेल बैठाने के लिए सही करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं होती थी; वहाँ पर, मंदिर में, किसी भी औज़ार का शब्द सुनाई नहीं देता था। इसी प्रकार से प्रभु भी हमें इस संसार में, विभिन्न परिस्थितियों और अनुभवों के द्वारा गढ़कर, तराश कर, काट-छाँट कर तैयार कर रहा है। वह यह कार्य हमें अपने सुरक्षित स्थान, पृथ्वी पर अपनी कलीसिया में लाकर करता है, जहाँ हम निरंतर उसकी निगरानी, उसकी देखभाल में रहते हैं। प्रभु के नियुक्त सेवकों के द्वारा हमें तैयार किया जाता है, प्रभु उन सेवकों के कार्य पर भी दृष्टि बनाए रखता है; और अन्ततः जब वह मसीही विश्वासी उसके द्वारा निर्धारित स्थान के लिए तैयार हो जाता है, प्रभु उसे वहाँ पर स्थापित कर देता है। इस प्रकार प्रभु द्वारा परमेश्वर के निवास के लिए यह मंदिर बनाया जा रहा है, निर्माणाधीन है।

ध्यान कीजिए, जिस पहाड़, या खदान से ये पत्थर निकाले जाते थे, वहाँ पर छोटे-बड़े, विभिन्न आकार और प्रकार के अनेकों अन्य पत्थर भी होंगे; किन्तु हर पत्थर मंदिर में लगाए जाने के लिए उपयुक्त एवं उचित नहीं था। केवल वही पत्थर जो मंदिर में लगाए जाने के लिए उपयुक्त एवं उचित थे, उन्हें ही फिर गढ़ने, तराशने, और काटने-छाँटने के लिए लिया गया, और अन्ततः मंदिर में स्थापित किया गया। प्रभु के द्वारा कलीसिया के बनाए जाने में भी केवल वही “पत्थर” या लोग सम्मिलित होंगे जो वास्तव में प्रभु की कलीसिया के हैं, जो उसे “मसीह” यानि “जगत का एकमात्र उद्धारकर्ता” स्वीकार करके उस पर विश्वास रखते हैं, उसी के आज्ञाकारी रहते हैं। अन्य कोई भी, जो किसी भी अन्य आधार पर कलीसिया से जुड़ने का प्रयास करता है, अन्ततः उसका तिरस्कार कर दिया जाएगा, उसे कलीसिया से बाहर निकाल दिया जाएगा, और अनन्त विनाश के लिए भेज दिया जाएगा। मत्ती 13:24-30 के दृष्टांत पर ध्यान कीजिए; बुरे पौधों के खेत में बने और बढ़ते रहने, खेत के स्वामी द्वारा उनकी भी देखभाल होने देने, उन्हें भी पानी और खाद मिलने, पक्षियों और जानवरों से उनकी भी सुरक्षा किए जाने के द्वारा वे खेत के स्वामी को स्वीकार्य नहीं बन गए थे। उनका अन्तिम स्थान तो पहले से निर्धारित था, और वे फिर वहीं भेज भी दिए गए। इसी प्रकार, प्रभु की कलीसिया में जो प्रभु के मानकों और निर्धारण के द्वारा नहीं है, वह अभी अपने आप को कितना भी सुरक्षित और स्वीकार्य क्यों न समझता रहें, अन्ततः उन की वास्तविकता तथा अंतिम दशा अनन्त विनाश ही की होगी, वह स्वर्गीय मंदिर या कलीसिया का भाग कभी नहीं ठहरेंगे।

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो अपने आप को जाँच-परख कर सुनिश्चित कर लीजिए कि आप प्रभु के मानकों और बुलाए जाने के द्वारा अपने आप को मसीही विश्वासी मानते हैं, या आप किसी अन्य रीति द्वारा प्रभु की कलीसिया से जुड़ने के कारण अपने आप मसीही विश्वासी समझते हैं। पहले के लेख में दिए गए प्रभु के बुरे बीज के दृष्टांत में खेत में उगने वाले बुरे बीज के पौधों के लिए तो अपनी अंतिम दशा बदलना संभव नहीं था, किन्तु आपके पास अभी अवसर भी है, और प्रभु की क्षमा भी आपके लिए अभी उपलब्ध है, आप अभी भी अपनी अंतिम दशा बदल कर ठीक कर सकते हैं। अभी सही आँकलन करके सही निर्णय ले लीजिए; बाद में यदि अवसर न रहा, तो फिर अनन्त विनाश ही हाथ लगेगा। दूसरे, पृथ्वी पर प्रभु की कलीसिया में सम्मिलित होने के बाद, प्रभु आपको गढ़कर, तराश कर, काट-छाँट कर ठीक करता है कि आप उसकी स्वर्गीय कलीसिया में आपके उचित स्थान पर स्थापित किए जा सकें। यह प्रक्रिया अवश्य ही पीड़ादायक होती है, इसके द्वारा हमारे जीवन की कई बातें जो व्यर्थ और आत्मिक उन्नति एवं परिपक्वता के लिए बाधक हैं, निकाल दी जाती हैं। इसे कोई अनपेक्षित, विलक्षण, अनहोनी, या अनुचित बात न समझें (प्रेरितों 14:22; 2 तिमुथियुस 3:12; इब्रानियों 12:5-12; 1 पतरस 4:1-2, 12-19); हमारे तैयार किए जाने का ये बातें एक अनिवार्य भाग हैं।

We see in Ephesians 2:21-22 that the Lord's Church has been called the Temple of God, His dwelling place. In the previous article, we had begun to consider the third thing stated by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 16:18 regarding the building of His Church. We had seen that it is the Lord who Himself is building the Church. Since the Church is still "Under Construction" therefore we see deficiencies, incompleteness, i.e., errors and spiritual immaturity etc., in its constituent members. Today we will see this through the example of the construction of God's Temple by King Solomon.

An excellent example of this process is the first temple built by Solomon for the worship of the Lord. It has been written about the construction process of this Temple that “And the temple, when it was being built, was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built” (1 Kings 6:7). Take note of the things said in this verse. The stones that were used for the building of this temple, after being taken out of the quarry and before being put in their place in the temple, were taken to a place where they were cut, trimmed, polished and given the size, shape, and appearance required for their place in the temple. Once they were ready for being placed in the temple at their proper place, then they were brought and fitted into their place. Every stone had its assigned place, and according to that place, it was cut, trimmed, prepared, and made ready. No other stone could take its place, nor could the stone take the place of any other stone; nor did the stone decide in which place it would like to be placed and fit in. According to the plan and design of the master-builder, every stone was placed in its pre-determined location. There was another very astounding and wonderful thing that was happening, mentioned here; each prepared and ready stone was just brought and fit into place, there was no need to trim and finely cut or prepare it again to take its place and settle in with the other stones at that location. It is written that in the temple there was no sound heard of any instruments being used. Similarly, the Lord too, in this world, through our situations, experiences and circumstances is cutting, trimming, molding, and polishing us, preparing us to take our pre-determined place in the Church. He does this work in His secured place, in His Church on earth, where we are constantly under His observation and are being worked upon, under His supervision by His appointed ministers. When we are finally ready and prepared for our pre-determined place, the Lord takes and places us there. In this manner, this temple, this Church is still under construction, he is still building it.

 Think it over, in the quarry, from where the stones were cut, there must have been various stones of different sizes and shapes; but every stone was not appropriate for being used in the temple. Only those stones that were appropriate for being used in the temple, were then taken to be cut, trimmed, polished, and prepared to place in the temple. The Lord too uses only those people to build His Church, who are actually worthy of His Church, i.e., those who have actually accepted Him as the Messiah, the “one and only savior of the world” have come into faith in Him, and have lived a life of obedience to Him and His Word. Anyone else, who has joined himself to the Lord’s Church through any other means, on any other basis or criteria, will be rejected, sent out into eternal destruction. Pay heed to the parable of Matthew 13:24-30; the tares received the care of the landlord, they too got the manure, water, protection from birds and animals, etc., but none of this made them accepted by the landlord. They had been identified and kept for destruction from the beginning, and that is where they were eventually sent. Similarly, in the Church of the Lord, all those who are not according to the standards and criteria of the Lord, they may consider themselves safe and secure for now, may think that they are accepted by the Lord, but eventually at the end, they will be cast out and sent to destruction. They will never be a part of the heavenly temple, the Church of God.

If you are a Christian Believer, then examine yourself and make sure that you actually are a saved and Born-Again Believer, as per the criteria and the standards of the Lord Jesus, and have come into the Church not through any other mechanism or way, but by the one and only way of repentance and forgiveness of sins from the Lord, as given by the Lord. In the earlier article, we had seen the parable stated by the Lord, about the tares; those tares growing in that field did not have the power or ability to change their eternal destiny; but you have the opportunity and the ability to receive the Lord’s forgiveness and come to faith in Him, join Him in His prescribed manner. Do a proper evaluation now, and rectify that which needs to be rectified, while you still can do it. Do it now, lest somehow if you do not have the opportunity, time, or ability to do it later, you may not have to cut a sorry figure and face eternal destruction. Secondly, after you become a part of the Church of the Lord Jesus, He will cut, trim, mold, and polish you to prepare you for your assigned place in the Church. This process is painful for sure; but is necessary, and by it many vain and redundant things in our lives, things that impede our spiritual growth and maturity, are taken away. Do not think this to be something unexpected or inappropriate (Acts 14:22; 2 Timothy 3:12; Hebrews 12:5-12; 1 Peter 4:1-2, 12-19); this is an integral and essential part of the process to build us up for our place in the Church.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

    हम ने पिछले लेख में इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई अन्तिम आरम्भिक बात “अन्तिम न्याय” के बारे में देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने मानवजाति को बहुत पहले, आज से लगभग 2000 वर्ष पहले से ही इस के बारे में चेतावनी दे दी है, बता दिया है; और इस प्रकार से उसने मानवजाति को समय, अवसर, और सँसाधन उपलब्ध करवा दिए हैं कि लोग इस न्याय के लिए अपने आप को तैयार कर लें। परमेश्वर बड़े धैर्य से प्रतीक्षा कर रहा है कि लोग अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करें, उस की ओर मुड़ें, और बच जाएँ। उस ने उन्हें अपना वचन दिया है कि वे इस न्याय के बारे में सीखें और अपने बचाए जाने के लिए उपयुक्त कदम उठा लें। उस ने उन्हें, जिन्होंने नया-जन्म पाया है, जिन्होंने अपने आप को उसे समर्पित कर दिया है, और जो उस की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन जीते हैं, अपना पवित्र आत्मा दिया है। पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासियों को उन की सहायता के लिए तथा उन्हें वचन को सिखाने के लिए दिया जाता है, वचन भी पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा से ही लिखा गया है (2 तीमुथियुस 3:16-17)। किन्तु यह एक दुर्भाग्य पूर्ण और दुखद तथ्य है कि जो लोग अपने आप को ईसाई या मसीही कहते हैं, उन में से अधिकाँश या तो बाइबल का अध्ययन करते ही नहीं हैं, या उसे हल्के में ऊपरी तौर से मात्र औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए पढ़ लेते हैं, न कि उसका अध्ययन करते हैं।

    जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने में कुछ रुचि दिखाते हैं, वे भी सामान्यतः पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन से नहीं, परन्तु मनुष्यों से तथा मनुष्यों की लिखी पुस्तकों से और बाइबल की सहायक पुस्तकों से सीखने का प्रयास करते हैं। मनुष्यों द्वारा लिखी ये पुस्तकें और बाइबल की सहायक पुस्तकें परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने का प्राथमिक नहीं वरन सहायक स्त्रोत हैं, जिन्हें तब उपयोग किया जाना चाहिए जब पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन की सच्चाइयों में दृढ़ता से स्थापित हो चुके हैं और बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के सम्बन्ध में सच तथा झूठ में भेद करना सीख गए हैं। लेकिन अधिकाँश ईसाई या मसीही अपने आप को पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के अनुशासन के अन्तर्गत लाने की बजाए, मनुष्य से सीखने का आसान तरीका चुनते हैं, और फिर परमेश्वर के वचन में दृढ़ और स्थापित नहीं हो पाने से अपने आत्मिक जीवन में बढ़ने से वंचित रह जाते हैं। परिणाम यही होता है कि परमेश्वर के वचन तथा पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता के द्वारा आने वाले न्याय के लिए तैयार होने के स्थान पर, वे केवल मनुष्य के वचनों, मनुष्यों के प्रचार, और मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं को सीखने और पालन करने वाले बन जाते हैं, और न्याय का सामना करने के लिए तैयार नहीं होने पाते हैं। इसी लिए इन लेखों में बारम्बार पाठकों के लिए यह दोहराया जा रहा है कि वे, बजाए मनुष्यों तथा मनुष्यों के वचनों के पीछे जाने के, परमेश्वर और उस के वचन की ओर मुड़ें जो बहुधा डिनॉमिनेशनों की शिक्षाओं, नियमों, और रीतियों के रूप में, स्थानीय मण्डलियों द्वारा पालन करने के लिए दिए जाते हैं।

    इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई छठी आरम्भिक बात केवल “न्याय” के बारे में ही नहीं है, किन्तु पवित्र आत्मा ने परमेश्वर के वचन में “न्याय” के साथ एक विशेषण, “अन्तिम” भी लिखवाया है। सभी मसीहियों के लिए इस विशेषण का और उस के निहितार्थों का ध्यान रखना भी बहुत आवश्यक है। इस विशेषण “अन्तिम” का अर्थ है कि न्याय एक ही बार और सदा काल के लिए किया जाएगा; अन्तिम होगा, इसे कभी बदला नहीं जाएगा कभी किसी पर से हटाया नहीं जाएगा। कुछ मत और डिनॉमिनेशन यह प्रचार करते और सिखाते हैं कि स्वर्ग और नरक के मध्य एक बीच का स्थान है, जहाँ मृतकों की आत्माएं कुछ समय के लिए रखी जाती हैं, और, यदि उन के लिए पृथ्वी पर लोगों के द्वारा कुछ काम किए जाएँ तो उन्हें वहाँ से छुटकारा दिला कर स्वर्ग पहुंचाया जा सकता है। कुछ अन्य यह गलत धारणा रखते हैं कि लोगों ने पृथ्वी पर जिस प्रकार का जीवन व्यतीत किया है, उस के अनुसार और अनुपात में उनकी आत्माओं को कुछ समय दुःख उठाना पड़ेगा, लेकिन फिर अन्ततः परमेश्वर सभी को स्वर्ग में ले लेगा। अगले लेख से हम न्याय के अंतिम और अनन्त होने के निहितार्थों पर विचार करना आरंभ करेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Eternal Judgment – 5

 

   In the last article on “Eternal Judgment,” the final elementary principle given in Hebrews 6:1-12, we had seen that God has forewarned mankind about it, about 2000 years ago from today; and He has given all of mankind the time, opportunity, and resources to prepare for this judgment. God is patiently waiting for people to repent from their sins and turn to him to be saved. He has given them His Word, so that they can learn about it and take the necessary steps to be saved. He has given His Holy Spirit to all who are Born-Again, those who submit their lives to Him, to live in obedience to Him. The Holy Spirit is given to help the Christian Believers, and teach them His Word, which has been written through His inspiration (2 Timothy 3:16-17). But the unfortunate and sad fact prevalent amongst those who call themselves “christians” is that most of the people instead of learning God’s Word, either do not study the Bible, or merely read the Bible casually and cursorily, not really studying it.

Those who do show some interest in learning God’s Word, usually learn it not through the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, but from men and through various books and helps written by men – these are the secondary sources for learning God’s Word, after first being grounded by the Holy Spirit in God’s Word and having learnt how to discern between true and false Biblical teachings. But most “christians” instead of subjecting themselves to the discipline of learning from the Holy Spirit, take the easy way out of learning from man, and fail to be established and grow in God’s Word and their spiritual lives. The result is that instead of preparing for the coming judgment through God’s Word and the help of the Holy Spirit, they end up learning and following man’s words, man’s preaching, and man’s teachings; and therefore, being ill-prepared for facing the judgment. Hence it is being repeatedly emphasized in these articles for readers to turn back to God and His Word, instead of going after and following men and their words, usually given as denominational teachings, rules and practices for the local congregations to follow.

This sixth elementary principle given in Hebrews 6:1-2, is not just about “judgment,’ but there is an adjective “eternal” that the Holy Spirit has had written with it, in God’s Word. It is equally necessary for the Christians to keep in mind the implications of this adjective. The adjective “eternal” means that this judgment will be once and for all; the final judgement, which will never ever be altered or revoked. Some sects and denominations preach and teach of an intermediate place between heaven and hell, where the souls of the dead stay for some time, and from where they can be redeemed and taken to heaven through some deeds done on their behalf by people on earth. Some others are under the misconception that after a period of time of suffering, proportionate to the kind of lives people have lived on earth, eventually God will receive every one into heaven. We will ponder over the implications of judgment being eternal from the next article.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

बपतिस्मे का उद्देश्य (2)

 

पिछले लेख में हमने, “प्रथम उल्लेख के अर्थ” के सिद्धांत के आधार पर बपतिस्मे के एक उद्देश्य को देखा था, कि यह पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु को जीवन समर्पित करने के द्वारा आने वाले भीतरी परिवर्तन की सार्वजनिक गवाही देना है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के समय के लगभग, लोगों में वायदे के अनुसार आने वाले मसीहा के आगमन को लेकर बहुत प्रत्याशा और उत्सुकता थी। जब यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाले ने प्रभु यीशु के अग्रदूत के रूप में अपनी सेवकाई का आरंभ किया, तब कई लोगों ने यह समझ लिया था कि वही वायदा किया हुआ मसीहा है, परंतु यूहन्ना ने उनकी गलतफहमी को ठीक किया (लूका 3:15-16; यूहन्ना 1:19-23)। इसलिए उन लोगों का फिर यूहन्ना से अगला प्रश्न था, “यदि तू न मसीह है, और न एलिय्याह, और न वह भविष्यद्वक्ता है, तो फिर बपतिस्मा क्यों देता है?” (यूहन्ना 1:25-26)। दूसरे शब्दों में उन लोगों की आशा थी कि वायदा किया हुआ मसीहा आकर वह करेगा जो यूहन्ना का रहा था। यूहन्ना ने तुरंत ही उसके बारे में लोगों के गलतफहमियों को ठीक करते हुए कहा की वह केवल मसीहा का अग्रदूत मात्र ही है, जो उसके लिए मार्ग तैयार करने के लिए भेजा गया है, जैसा की चारों सुसमाचारों में दिया गया है (मत्ती 3:3; मरकुस 1:3; लूका 3:4; यूहन्ना 1:23)। साथ ही उसने उन्हें यह भी बताया कि वायदा किए हुए आने वाले मसीहा के आने का उद्देश्य लोगों को जल में बपतिस्मा देने से कहीं अधिक बढ़कर था। जैसा कि चारों सुसमाचारों में लिखा गया है, मसीहा के आने का उद्देश्य था, “वह अपना खलिहान अच्छी रीति से साफ करेगा, और अपने गेहूं को तो खत्ते में इकट्ठा करेगा, परन्तु भूसी को उस आग में जलाएगा जो बुझने की नहीं” (मत्ती 3:11-12)।

यद्यपि अभिप्राय प्रकट है, लेकिन फिर भी हम विभिन्न बातों को साथ एकत्रित करके पूर्ण चित्र को बनाते हैं। यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाले को, लोगों को वायदा किए हुए मसीहा को पहचानने और ग्रहण करने के लिए तैयार करना था। मसीहा के आने का उद्देश्य संसार के लोगों को परमेश्वर के आने वाले न्याय के लिए तैयार करना था, जब सभी को अपने जीवनों का हिसाब उसे देना होगा, और उसी के अनुसार उन्हें परिणाम और प्रतिफल दिए जाएंगे (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। मसीहा की पहचान और ग्रहण करने को सहज करने के लिए, यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाला लोगों में पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने, और उनमें इससे हुए भीतरी परिवर्तन की सार्वजनिक गवाही बपतिस्मे के द्वारा देने का प्रचार करता फिरा। दूसरे शब्दों में, व्यक्ति द्वारा पापों का अंगीकार कर लेना, उनके लिए पश्चाताप करना, अर्थात उस व्यक्ति में दीनता और परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता का होना, उसके द्वारा मसीहा को पहचानने और उसे व्यक्तिगत रीति से ग्रहण करने के लिए आवश्यक है। यह निष्कर्ष कोई निराधार कल्पना नहीं है; वरन, न केवल प्रभु यीशु मसीह की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई की बातें इसकी पुष्टि करती हैं, प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने स्वयं भी इसे कहा है (मत्ती 21:23-32)। जन-साधारण के लोग जिन्होंने पश्चाताप और बपतिस्मे के लिए यूहन्ना के आह्वान को स्वीकार कर लिया, उन्होंने प्रभु यीशु को मसीहा भी स्वीकार कर लिया। किन्तु घमण्डी ढीठ धार्मिक अगुवों, फरीसियों और सदूकियों ने, जिन्होंने यूहन्ना की “मन फिराव के योग्य फल लाओ” (मत्ती 3:8) वाली बात को स्वीकार नहीं किया, उन्होंने प्रभु यीशु के मसीह होने को भी स्वीकार नहीं किया।

    इससे हम बपतिस्मे के दूसरे उद्देश्य को समझ सकते हैं। यदि बपतिस्मा एक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान नहीं, परन्तु बाइबल में दिखाए गए सही रवैये और समझ-बूझ के साथ, पापों को मानते हुए, उनके लिए सच्चे मन से पश्चाताप करते हुए, दीनता के साथ परमेश्वर और उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन व्यतीत करने के निर्णय के इस भीतरी परिवर्तन की सार्वजनिक गवाही के समान लिया जाए, तो यह उस व्यक्ति को अपने जीवन में प्रभु यीशु मसीह की सेवकाई के उद्देश्य को, अर्थात प्रभु के सामने अपनी जवाबदेही और उसके न्याय, अन्ततः जिसका सामना सभी को करना ही होगा, के लिए भी तैयार करता है।

The Purpose of Baptism (2)

 

    In the previous article, based on the ‘Principle of First Use,’ we have seen one purpose of baptism, that it is to publicly witness about the inner change brought about by repentance of sins and submitting one’s life to the Lord. Around the time of the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus, there was a great anticipation amongst the people that the Promised Messiah was about to come. When John the Baptist started his ministry as the forerunner of the Lord Jesus, many people assumed him to be the Promised Messiah, but John corrected them (Luke 3:15-16; John 1:19-23). Therefore, their next question to John was, “If you are neither the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet; why then do you baptize?” (John 1:25-26). In other words, the expectation of the people was that when the Promised Messiah comes, He will do what John was doing. But John immediately corrected the people’s misconception about him, plainly telling them that he, i.e., John, was only the forerunner of the Messiah, sent to prepare the way of the Lord, as is stated in all the 4 Gospel accounts (Matthew 3:3; Mark 1:3; Luke 3:4; John 1:23). He also told them that the purpose of the coming of the Promised Messiah was far greater than merely baptizing people in water. The Messiah was coming, as is recorded in all the four Gospels, to “thoroughly clean out His threshing floor and burn the chaff with unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:11-12).

    Though the implication is evident, but still, let us put together bits and pieces and complete the picture. John the Baptist was sent to prepare the people to receive and accept the Promised Messiah. The Messiah Himself was coming to prepare the world for the coming judgment of God, where everyone will have to give an account of his life to Him, and receive their rewards accordingly (Acts 17:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:10). To facilitate the acceptance of the Messiah and His ministry, John the Baptist went about preaching repentance of sins, and witnessing for that inner transformation through the external public act of taking baptism. In other words, a person’s acknowledgement and confession of sins, and repentance for them, i.e., humility and obedience to God was necessary for him to be able to recognize and accept the Messiah, and to personally accept His ministry, when he came. This conclusion is no conjecture; rather, not only does the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus amply bear it out, but the Lord Jesus also said it so (Matthew 21:23-32). The common people, who accepted John the Baptist’s call to repentance and baptism, also accepted Lord Jesus as the Promised Messiah. But the haughty religious leaders, the Pharisees and Sadducees, who had not accepted John the Baptist’s call to “bear fruits worthy of repentance” (Matthew 3:8), also rejected the Lord Jesus as the Messiah.

    From this we can derive the second purpose of baptism. If baptism is taken not as a ritual or a formality, but as is shown in the Bible, with the correct attitude of accepting sins and repenting for them, of publicly witnessing about the inner transformation, of being prepared to live humbly in obedience to God and His Word, then it also prepares the person to receive the ministry of the Lord Jesus in their lives, i.e., to learn about and prepare for their coming accountability before the Lord and His judgement; which eventually, everyone will have to face.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हमने 2 इतिहास 29 अध्याय के अपने अध्ययन से देखा है कि जैसा परमेश्वर चाहता है वैसा आराधक, अर्थात आत्मा और सच्चाई से आराधना करने वाला बनने के लिए मसीही विश्वासी को चार कदमों से होकर जाना होता है। इन चार में से पहले तीन कदम हैं मसीही विश्वासी का अपने आप को तैयार करना, शुद्ध और पवित्र होना, जिससे परमेश्वर की महिमा कर सके उसकी योग्य आराधना कर सके। इस तैयारी के इन पहले तीन कदमों के उचित रीति से पूरा करने के बाद ही व्यक्ति चौथे कदम, परमेश्वर की आराधना करने पर जा सकता है। बिना पर्याप्त और उचित तैयारी करे, जैसी पहले तीन कदमों में रूपरेखा दी गई है, विश्वासी परमेश्वर की योग्य आराधना नहीं करने पाएगा, और आराधना की आशीषों और अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफलों का लाभ नहीं लेने पाएगा। यह चौथा कदम चार चरणों में होकर पूरा होता है, और पिछले लेखों में हमने इसके पहले दो चरणों को 2 इतिहास 29:20-26 से देखा है। पहले कदम में हिजकिय्याह अपने हाकिमों के साथ मंदिर में आता है; वह इस्राएल सहित, सभी के लिए पाप-बलि चढ़ाने के लिए कहता है; और फिर दूसरे चरण में बलिदान के लिए जब पशु तैयार किए जा रहे थे, उस समय मंदिर में लेवी अपने वाद्य यंत्रों के साथ आराधना आरंभ करने के लिए तैयार खड़े थे।

यह, आज हम मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए, दिखाता है कि जिस प्रकार से हिजकिय्याह ने सार्वजनिक रीति से पापी होने का अंगीकार किया और परमेश्वर से क्षमा माँगने को तैयार हुआ; अर्थात स्वयं को तथा अपने हाकिमों को परमेश्वर की क्षमा की अधीनता में ले आया, उसी प्रकार से विश्वासी को स्वयं को और अपने जीवन में नियंत्रण रखने वाली सभी बातों को प्रभु की अधीनता में ले कर आना है। जैसे प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 13 में पतरस के साथ हुए वार्तालाप में दिखाया, जब भी विश्वासी से पाप हो जाए, उसे इसे परमेश्वर के सामने मान लेना है और कब, कहाँ पर, किस बात में पाप हुआ इसका अंगीकार करना है, उसके लिए क्षमा माँगनी है। केवल वे ही परमेश्वर की सच्ची आराधना करने का मन और योग्यता रख सकते हैं जो परमेश्वर से ऐसी घनिष्ठता का संबंध रखते हैं कि वे कभी भी उससे सहायता प्राप्त करने के लिए परमेश्वर के सामने आने का भरोसा रखते हैं। इस प्रथम चरण के बाद, दूसरा चरण आता है जिसमें आराधना आरंभ होने को तैयार है। इस दूसरे चरण में, जब पशु बलि चढ़ाए जाने के लिए तैयार किए जा रहे थे, तो मंदिर में लेवी अपने वाद्य यंत्रों के साथ आराधना आरंभ करने के लिए तैयार खड़े थे। प्रभु यीशु, हमारा बलि का मेमना, मारा और बलि किया गया है; अब हम मसीही विश्वासियों को दो बातें जाँच कर देखनी हैं। पहली, हमारे हृदय, पवित्र आत्मा के मंदिर में, क्या और कौन रहता है - क्या वे लेवी, अर्थात परमेश्वर के अभिषिक्त और समर्पित जन हैं, अथवा कोई या कुछ अन्य? और दूसरा, क्या हमारे हृदय में जो कुछ भी है वह आराधना करने के लिए बिलकुल तैयार खड़ा है कि नहीं? केवल तब ही आत्मा और सच्चाई से, जैसे परमेश्वर चाहता है, आराधना की जा सकती है। इस सारी तैयारी और पवित्र किए जाने के बाद, यही वह पल है जब विश्वासी वैसे आराधक में परिवर्तित हो जाता है, जिसे परमेश्वर ढूँढ़ रहा है।

चरण 3 - 2 इतिहास 29:27-28 - होमबलि: इसके बाद हिजकिय्याह होमबलि चढ़ाने के लिए कहता है। होमबलि बलिदान किए हुए संपूर्ण पशु को वेदी पर जलाया जाना था - जो एक संपूर्ण समर्पण, अपने आप को मिटा कर, अपने आप को पूर्णतः प्रभु को समर्पित कर देना दिखाता था। जैसे ही यह आरंभ होता है, यहोवा के गीत के साथ आराधना भी आरंभ हो जाती है। हम जिस पल से वास्तव में और ईमानदारी से अपने आप को परमेश्वर के सामने प्रोस्क्यूनियोस कर देते हैं, अर्थात जिस पल से हम अपने आप को प्रभु यीशु मसीह के हाथों में पूर्णतः समर्पित कर देते हैं, हम आराधना चढ़ाने के लिए तैयार हो जाते हैं। जो मंदिर में लेवियों के साथ आरंभ हुआ था, वह, जैसा कि पद 28 में लिखा है, शीघ्र ही सारी उपस्थित मण्डली में फैल गया। सभी जो वहाँ पर एकत्रित थे परमेश्वर की आराधना में सम्मिलित हो गए। ध्यान कीजिए, ये वो लोग थे जो परमेश्वर के मंदिर में एकत्रित थे, जिन्हें पहले चरण की पाप बली के द्वारा परमेश्वर की अधीनता में लाया जा चुका था, और राजा हिजकिय्याह के साथ परमेश्वर की आराधना के लिए एकत्रित हुए थे। यह एक बार फिर इस बात पर जोर देता है कि सच्ची आराधना केवल पापों से क्षमा पाए हुए उस जन के द्वारा की जा सकती है जिसने तैयारी की है और आराधना करने के लिए शुद्ध और पवित्र बना है।

चरण - 4 - 2 इतिहास 29:29-31 - विभिन्न स्वरूपों में आराधना आरंभ हो जाती है: यहाँ से आगे, परमेश्वर के तैयार और पवित्र किया गए लोगों के द्वारा, बलिदान, धन्यवाद की भेंटें, स्तुति, सिर झुकाना, दण्डवत करना - निर्बाध आराधना विभिन्न रीति से आरंभ हो जाती है। पापों से छुड़ाया हुआ, शुद्ध और स्वच्छ किया गया, समर्पित विश्वासी परमेश्वर की आराधना आत्मा और सच्चाई से कर सकता है, और करता भी है; जिस प्रोस्क्युनीटिस की परमेश्वर तलाश कर रहा है, वह वही बन जाता है। यहाँ पर पद 30 में आराधना से संबंधित एक और महत्वपूर्ण बात दी गई है, “राजा हिजकिय्याह और हाकिमों ने लेवियों को आज्ञा दी, कि दाऊद और आसाप दर्शी के भजन गाकर यहोवा की स्तुति करें…”, अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रयोग के द्वारा आराधना करें। परमेश्वर के वचन और उसमें दिए गए उदाहरणों का प्रयोग करने से यह सुनिश्चित रहता है कि हम शैतान द्वारा किसी प्रकार से अनुचित रीति से आराधना करने में बहकाए नहीं जाएँगे।

आराधना के बारे में हमारी इस  श्रृंखला के समाप्ति पर, निष्कर्ष में, हमने यह देखा और सीखा है कि सच्ची आराधना पापों की क्षमा पाए हुए, समर्पित, शुद्ध और स्वच्छ किए हुए मन वाले लोग ही करने पाते हैं। जो भी परमेश्वर की आराधना करने की लालसा रखता है, उसे अपने आप को तैयार और पवित्र करना होता है। प्रत्येक मसीही पाप में गिर सकता है, और तब उसे पहले प्रभु के सामने अपने पाप को मान लेने, उसके द्वारा शुद्ध और पवित्र किए जाने की आवश्यकता होती है, उसके बाद ही वह सच्ची आराधना करने पाता है। हम भजन 51 में दाऊद के जीवन से देखते हैं कि जब वह पाप की स्थिति में था तब आराधना नहीं कर सका; वह परमेश्वर से केवल प्रार्थना, अंगीकार, और क्षमा याचना ही कर सका। केवल पाप क्षमा मिलने और परमेश्वर द्वारा शुद्ध और पवित्र किए जाने के बाद ही परमेश्वर के साथ उसका संबंध और उसकी आराधना बहाल हो सके। यदि हम सार्थक रीति से, वास्तव में सच्ची आराधना नहीं करने पा रहे हैं, तो हमें अपने हृदय की दशा को परमेश्वर के समक्ष लाकर जाँचना चाहिए, और जो भी सुधारे जाने की आवश्यकता है, उसे सुधारना चाहिए। परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को अपने सच्चे आराधकों में परिवर्तित करना चाहता है, किन्तु इसके लिए हमें इस सारी प्रक्रिया से होकर जाने के लिए तैयार होना पड़ेगा, क्योंकि परमेश्वर के साथ कोई छोटे या समझौते के मार्ग, कोई शोर्ट-कट, नहीं हैं।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being Transformed To Worship (7)

Through our study from 2 Chronicles chapter 29 we have seen that to be transformed into the kind of worshipper that God is looking for, i.e., one who worships God in spirit and in truth, the Christian Believer has to go through four steps. The first three of these steps are about the Christian Believer preparing and sanctifying himself to glorify God and worship Him worthily. It is only after these three initial preparatory steps have been properly completed, that the person can go to the fourth step of starting to worship God. Without an adequate and proper preparation, as outlined in the first three steps, he will not be able to worship God worthily, and will not be able to enjoy the blessings and eternal fruits of worshipping. This fourth step is completed through four stages, and in the previous articles we have seen the first two stages of this fourth step from 2 Chronicles 29:20-26 - In the first stage Hezekiah with the rulers in his kingdom came to the Temple; he asked for the sin offering for everyone, including Israel; and then in the second stage the sacrificial animals were killed, while the Levite in the Temple stood ready with their musical instruments to start worshipping.

This, for us Christian Believers, today signifies, like Hezekiah, openly confessing being a sinner and seeking God’s forgiveness for them; bringing self and every ‘ruler of the kingdom’, i.e., all controlling influence in our life to the Lord and putting it all under the Lord’s control. As the Lord Jesus showed through His conversation with Peter in John 13, as often as a Believer sins, he has to come to the Lord, repent for the sin and acknowledge before the Lord where and for what he has fallen, and ask for the Lord’s forgiveness for it. Only those who enjoy this close relationship and confidence of approaching God whenever they need His help, also have the heart and ability to worship God, exalt and glorify Him. After this first stage, comes the second stage of the worship beginning. For this second stage, as the animals were being made ready for the offering, the Levites in the Temple stood ready with their musical instruments to start worshipping. The Lord Jesus, our sacrificial Lamb of God has been killed and offered as a sacrifice; now, we Believers need to see two things within ourselves. Firstly, who or what occupies our hearts, the Temple of the Holy Spirit - is it the Levites, i.e., the people consecrated to God and functioning for God, or something or someone else? Secondly whether everything in our hearts is ready and prepared to worship God. Only then can it be the worship in spirit and in truth that God desires. After all this preparation and sanctification, this is the moment where the Believer is transformed to being a worshipper, the one God is looking for.

 

Stage 3 – 2 Chronicles 29:27-28 - Burnt Offering: Then Hezekiah asks for the burnt offering to be offered (vs 27-28) – burnt offering was the burning of the whole sacrificial animal on the altar – signifying a complete submission, a complete offering of self to the Lord. As soon as this is underway, worship through singing also begins. From the moment we actually and sincerely proskuneos ourselves before God, i.e., from the moment we completely surrender ourselves to the Lordship of Jesus, we are ready to start worshipping. What started in the Temple with the Levites, as is stated in verse 28, soon involved the whole assembly. Everyone who was gathered there, joined in worshipping God. Note, this was the assembly gathered in the Temple, people who had been brought under the sin offering of stage 1, and had gathered to worship God under King Hezekiah. Once again emphasizing that actual worship can only be offered by a redeemed sinner, who has also prepared and sanctified himself to worship God.

 

Stage 4 – 2 Chronicles 29:29-31 - Various Forms of Worship start: v. 29-31 – From here on sacrifices, thanks offerings, praise, bowing of heads – a free flow of various forms of worship by the prepared and sanctified people of God is seen. A redeemed, cleansed, and submitted person can, and will worship the Lord in spirit and in truth; he will be the proskunetes that God wants. Here, in verse 30, another important point related to worship is also given, “King Hezekiah and the leaders commanded the Levites to sing praise to the Lord with the words of David and of Asaph the seer…”, i.e., worship using to the Word of God. Using the word of God, its examples, ensures that we are not misled by Satan into worshipping inappropriately in any manner.

In conclusion, in our series on Understanding Worship, we have seen and learnt that true worship comes from a redeemed, submitted, cleansed, and purified heart. The person desiring to worship God in spirit and truth has to prepare and sanctify himself to do so. Every Christian Believer is also prone to committing sin and then he first needs to confess his sin to the Lord, get cleansed by Him and only then can he sincerely worship God worthily. We see from the life of David, in Psalm 51, that he could not worship while in the state of sin; he could only pray, confess, and seek God’s forgiveness. Only after being cleansed of his sin could his relationship with God and his worship be restored. If we are unable to worship meaningfully, then let us examine the state of our hearts before God, and correct what needs to be corrected. God wants to transform His people into His worshippers, provided we are willing to go through His process, since there are no short-cuts with God.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
