पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा - (1)
बपतिस्मे से संबंधित विवादास्पद बातों को देखते हुए, हमें पिछले कुछ लेखों में, इस गलत धारणा कि पाप क्षमा, और पापों का धोया जाना बपतिस्मे से है, के लिए प्रयोग किए जाने वाले बाइबल पदों का विश्लेषण किया था। साथ ही इस गलत धारणा एवं गलत शिक्षा के कुछ निहितार्थों को भी देखा था। फिर, पिछले लेख में हमने बाइबल के वचनों पर आधारित कुछ प्रश्नों को विचार करने के लिए अपने समक्ष लिया था। बाइबल के सभी पद, और उनसे संबंधित सभी प्रश्न, यही दिखाते हैं कि पापों की क्षमा, पापों के धोए जाने, और उद्धार पाने के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के अनुसार बपतिस्मा लेना कोई अनिवार्यता नहीं है। जैसा प्रेरितों 13:39 में लिखा है, “और जिन बातों से तुम मूसा की व्यवस्था के द्वारा निर्दोष नहीं ठहर सकते थे, उन्हीं सब से हर एक विश्वास करने वाला उसके द्वारा निर्दोष ठहरता है”, केवल प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास करने वाला ही “उसके” अर्थात प्रभु यीशु मसीह और उसपर किए गए विश्वास के द्वारा निर्दोष ठहरता है; बपतिस्मे का इस निर्दोष ठहरने से कोई संबंध नहीं है।
बपतिस्मे से संबंधित विवादास्पद विषयों में हम आज एक और बहुत गलत समझे, समझाए, और गलत शिक्षाओं के साथ प्रयोग किए हुए विषय को देखना आरंभ करेंगे - पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा; जिसे सामान्यतः पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा कहकर बहुत सी गलत शिक्षाएं और धारणाएं बताई और मनवाई जाती हैं।
वाक्यांश “पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा” का सबसे पहला प्रयोग प्रभु यीशु द्वारा प्रेरितों 1:5 में किया गया, “क्योंकि यूहन्ना ने तो पानी में बपतिस्मा दिया है परन्तु थोड़े दिनों के बाद तुम पवित्रात्मा से बपतिस्मा पाओगे।” यहाँ प्रेरितों 1:4 के विचार, कि शिष्य पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त होने तक यरूशलेम में प्रतीक्षा करते रहें (पद 8), को आगे बढ़ाते हुए, प्रभु यीशु ने इस पद में अपने शिष्यों कहा कि थोड़े ही दिनों में वे पवित्र आत्मा से (‘का’ नहीं) बपतिस्मा पाएंगे। पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा पाने को लेकर बहुत सी ऐसी शिक्षाएं और विचार मसीही समाज और विश्वासियों में फैली हुई हैं और फैलाई भी जा रही हैं, जो बाइबल की शिक्षाओं के अनुसार नहीं हैं। ये शिक्षाएं चीनी में लिपटे हुए कड़वे और घातक ज़हर के समान हैं, जो विश्वासियों के विश्वास और सेवकाई की बहुत हानि करते हैं, उन्हें सत्य के मार्ग से भटका कर, गलत धारणाओं और निष्फल कार्यों की ओर ले जाते हैं; जिन्हें हम आगे चलकर देखेंगे। फिर, प्रेरितों 1:5 की इसी बात का हवाला प्रेरितों 11:15-16 में दिया गया, “15 जब मैं बातें करने लगा, तो पवित्र आत्मा उन पर उसी रीति से उतरा, जिस रीति से आरम्भ में हम पर उतरा था। 16 तब मुझे प्रभु का वह वचन स्मरण आया; जो उसने कहा; कि यूहन्ना ने तो पानी से बपतिस्मा दिया, परन्तु तुम पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा पाओगे।” पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा पाना, प्रभु की कही हुई इसी बात का पूरा होना है।
यहाँ पर शब्दों ‘से’ और ‘का’ के अर्थ को समझना आवश्यक है, क्योंकि इन दोनों का बिलकुल भिन्न अभिप्राय होता है। एक छोटे से शब्द का अनुचित उपयोग, चाहे अनजाने में अथवा जान बूझकर, सारे अर्थ को बदल देता है। पूरे नए नियम में कहीं पर भी “पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा” कभी भी प्रयोग नहीं किया गया है। हमेशा ही वाक्यांश “पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा” प्रयोग हुआ है। “से” का अर्थ होता है वह माध्यम जो बपतिस्मा देने के लिए प्रयोग होगा; “का” से अर्थ बनता है बपतिस्मा किसके अधिकार या आज्ञा के अनुसार होगा। “प्रभु यीशु का बपतिस्मा” कहने का अर्थ है वह बपतिस्मा जो प्रभु यीशु के कहे के अनुसार या उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के अनुसार दिया गया। इसी प्रकार से, “पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा” कहने का अर्थ है वह बपतिस्मा जो पवित्र आत्मा के कहे के अनुसार या उसके अधिकार से दिया गया। बाइबल के संबंधित वचनों के द्वारा “से” और “का” के अर्थ की भिन्नता को समझते हैं।
पहले कुछ उदाहरण ‘से’ के प्रयोग के देखते हैं:
मत्ती 3:11 मैं तो पानी से तुम्हें मन फिराव का बपतिस्मा देता हूं, परन्तु जो मेरे बाद आने वाला है, वह मुझ से शक्तिशाली है; मैं उस की जूती उठाने के योग्य नहीं, वह तुम्हें पवित्र आत्मा और आग से बपतिस्मा देगा।

लूका 3:16 तो यूहन्ना ने उन सब से उत्तर में कहा: कि मैं तो तुम्हें पानी से बपतिस्मा देता हूं, परन्तु वह आने वाला है, जो मुझ से शक्तिमान है; मैं तो इस योग्य भी नहीं, कि उसके जूतों का बन्ध खोल सकूं, वह तुम्हें पवित्र आत्मा और आग से बपतिस्मा देगा।
यूहन्ना 1:33 और मैं तो उसे पहचानता नहीं था, परन्तु जिसने मुझे जल से बपतिस्मा देने को भेजा, उसी ने मुझ से कहा, कि जिस पर तू आत्मा को उतरते और ठहरते देखे; वही पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा देनेवाला है।
प्रेरितों 11:16 तब मुझे प्रभु का वह वचन स्मरण आया; जो उसने कहा; कि यूहन्ना ने तो पानी से बपतिस्मा दिया, परन्तु तुम पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा पाओगे।
अब कुछ उदाहरण ‘का’ शब्द के प्रयोग के भी देखते हैं:
प्रेरितों 18:25 उसने प्रभु के मार्ग की शिक्षा पाई थी, और मन लगाकर यीशु के विषय में ठीक ठीक सुनाता, और सिखाता था, परन्तु वह केवल यूहन्ना के बपतिस्मा की बात जानता था।
1 कुरिन्थियों 1:12 मेरा कहना यह है, कि तुम में से कोई तो अपने आप को पौलुस का, कोई अपुल्लोस का, कोई कैफा का, कोई मसीह का कहता है। शब्द “का” के प्रयोग के द्वारा भिन्न लोगों के साथ जुड़ना, या उनके अधिकार को दिखाना व्यक्त किया गया है।
1 कुरिन्थियों 10:2 और सब ने बादल में, और समुद्र में, मूसा का बपतिस्मा लिया।

हर स्थान पर “पवित्र आत्मा से बपतिस्मा” प्रयोग किया गया है, अर्थात, पानी के समान ही पवित्र आत्मा वह माध्यम होगा जिसके द्वारा बपतिस्मा मिलेगा। परमेश्वर के वचन में कहीं पर भी “पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा” प्रयोग नहीं हुआ है, अर्थात, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा अपनी ओर से या अपने अधिकार से कोई बपतिस्मा देने की बात संपूर्ण पवित्र शास्त्र में कहीं पर भी नहीं कहता या सिखाता है। यह प्रभु यीशु द्वारा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के विषय कही गई बात के अनुरूप है कि वह कुछ भी नया नहीं करेगा, नहीं सिखाएगा, नहीं बताएगा; केवल प्रभु यीशु की बातों को ही स्मरण करवाएगा, और केवल उन्हें ही, उन बातों में से ही सिखाएगा:
यूहन्ना 14:26 परन्तु सहायक अर्थात पवित्र आत्मा जिसे पिता मेरे नाम से भेजेगा, वह तुम्हें सब बातें सिखाएगा, और जो कुछ मैं ने तुम से कहा है, वह सब तुम्हें स्मरण कराएगा।
यूहन्ना 16:13 परन्तु जब वह अर्थात सत्य का आत्मा आएगा, तो तुम्हें सब सत्य का मार्ग बताएगा, क्योंकि वह अपनी ओर से न कहेगा, परन्तु जो कुछ सुनेगा, वही कहेगा, और आनेवाली बातें तुम्हें बताएगा।
यूहन्ना 16:14 वह मेरी महिमा करेगा, क्योंकि वह मेरी बातों में से ले कर तुम्हें बताएगा।
इसलिए “पवित्र आत्मा का बपतिस्मा” कहना, प्रभु यीशु और वचन की बातों का खण्डन करना है, बाइबल की शिक्षाओं में एक अनुचित और अनावश्यक विरोधाभास लाना है, जो बिलकुल अस्वीकार्य है। इस विषय से संबंधित कुछ और बातें हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।
यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में नया जन्म पाए हुए प्रभु यीशु के शिष्य हैं, पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Baptism With the Holy Spirit - (1)
While looking at the controversial points regarding baptism, we have, in the previous few articles, analyzed the Bible verses used to try to justify the misconception that sins are forgiven, and that sins are washed away by baptism. We also saw some of the devious implications of this misconception and wrong teaching. All the Bible verses clearly show that baptism is not a requirement for the forgiveness of sins, nor for the washing away of sins, and salvation according to God's Word, the Bible. As it is written in Acts 13:39, "and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses", only the one who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified through “Him” the Lord Jesus Christ and the faith placed in him; Baptism has nothing to do with this justification.
Among the controversial topics related to baptism, we'll today begin to look at another very misunderstood, wrongly taught, and misapplied topic – Baptism with the Holy Spirit, commonly called the baptism of the Holy Spirit; about which many misconceptions and beliefs are taught and imposed.
The phrase "baptized with the Holy Spirit" was first used by the Lord Jesus in Acts 1:5, "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." Here, in continuation with the idea of Acts 1:4 that the disciples were to wait in Jerusalem until they received the Holy Spirit (verse 8), the Lord Jesus told His disciples in this verse that within a few days they would be baptized with (not 'of') the Holy Spirit. Many such teachings and ideas about being baptized of the Holy Spirit, which are not in accordance with the teachings of the Bible, have been spread and are being spread among Christians and Believers. These teachings are like sugar-coated bitter and deadly poisons that do much damage to the faith and ministry of believers, diverting them from the path of truth, leading to misconceptions and fruitless actions; about this we will see later. Then, the same point of Acts 1:5 is quoted in Acts 11:15-16, "15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'" To be baptized with the Holy Spirit is the fulfillment of what the Lord said.
Here it is necessary to understand the meaning of the words 'with' and 'of', as they both have completely different meanings. Inappropriate use of a small word, inadvertently or deliberately, changes the whole meaning. Nowhere in the entire New Testament is "baptism of the Holy Spirit" ever been used. Everywhere the phrase "baptism with the Holy Spirit" is used. “With” means the medium used for baptism; “of” refers to those under whose authority or command the baptism will take place. The term “baptism of the Lord Jesus” refers to the baptism given in accordance with or obedience to the Lord Jesus. Similarly, to say "baptism of the Holy Spirit" means the baptism given according to the command of the Holy Spirit or under his authority. Let us understand the difference in meaning of "with" and "of" through related verses of the Bible.
Let's first look at some examples of the use of with':
Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Mark 1:8 I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
Luke 3:16 John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
John 1:33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'
Acts 11:16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'
We will now see a few examples of the use of “of”:
Acts 18:25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John.
1 Corinthians 1:12 Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." The word “of” is used here to convey being associated with or under the authority of certain persons.
1 Corinthians 10:2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,
Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
Everywhere the term "baptism with the Holy Spirit" is used, i.e., like water, the Holy Spirit would be the medium through which baptism would be administered. Nowhere in the Word of God has "baptism of the Holy Spirit" been used, implying that God the Holy Spirit does not say or teach, anywhere in the entire Scriptures, to baptize anyone on His own behalf or on His own authority. This is in line with what the Lord Jesus said about God the Holy Spirit that He would not do, would not teach, would not tell anything new; He will remind only the words of the Lord Jesus, and will only teach them, and from them:
John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
John 16:13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
John 16:14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
So, to say "the baptism of the Holy Spirit" is to contradict the Lord Jesus and His Word, and is tantamount to bringing an unfair and unnecessary contradiction into the teachings of the Bible, which is absolutely unacceptable. We will see some more things related to this topic in the next article.
If you are a Christian Believer, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a Born-Again disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. Whoever may be the preacher or teacher, but you should always, like the Berean Believers, first cross-check and test all teachings that you receive, from the Word of God. Only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
