गैर-जिम्मेदार भण्डारी होना – 1

 

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी, जो परमेश्वर ने उसे दिया है स्वतः ही उसका भण्डारी भी है; और उसे परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए उन वरदानों को कलीसिया के लाभ तथा परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए उपयोग करना है (1पतरस 4:10)। यद्यपि परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होना मसीही विश्वासी होने के साथ अभिन्न रीति से जुड़ा हुआ है, फिर भी अधिकांश मसीही विश्वासी उनके मसीही विश्वास में आते ही, उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई इस जिम्मेदारी को न तो पहचानते हैं, और न ही उसका एहसास रखते हैं। आज हम देखेंगे कि मसीही विश्वासी किस प्रकार से, परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होने की बजाए, परमेश्वर का गैर-ज़िम्मेदार भण्डारी हो सकता है, और फिर अन्ततः उसे इसके लिए बहुत बड़ी कीमत चुकानी पड़ेगी।

मूलतः दो तरीके हैं जिनके कारण व्यक्ति गैर-ज़िम्मेदार भण्डारी बन सकता है, और फिर अनुशासनात्मक कार्यवाही के लिए दोषी हो जाता है। ये दो तरीके, भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी निभाने के विपरीत छोर पर देखे जाते हैं। हम परमेश्वर के लिए अयोग्य भण्डारी इन दो तरीकों से हो सकते हैं:

•  लापरवाह और उदासीन होने के द्वारा: जैसे कि वह दास था जिसे प्रभु द्वारा मत्ती 25:14-30 में दिए गए तोड़ों के दृष्टांत में एक तोड़ा दिया गया था। किन्तु उस दास ने उसे दिए गए आदर और ज़िम्मेदारी की कोई कदर नहीं की, और न ही वह अपने स्वामी द्वारा उस से रखी गई अपेक्षा की कोई परवाह की। यद्यपि उसने न तो उस तोड़े को चुराया, न गँवाया, वरन् सम्पूर्ण तोड़ा स्वामी को लौटा दिया; किन्तु उसने उस तोड़े का कोई अपेक्षित उपयोग नहीं किया था, और इसलिये उसे लापरवाह और उदासीन होने के कारण दण्ड भोगना पड़ा (मत्ती 25:24-30)।

• आवश्यकता से अधिक अधिकार जताने और हथियाने वाला होने के द्वारा: जैसे कि, लूका 12:45-46 में, वह दास था जिसने अपने स्वामी के आने में विलम्ब के कारण, उसे सौंपी गई भण्डारी होने की ज़िम्मेदारी को, न केवल स्वामी होने के समान अधिकार समझ लिया, वरन् अपनी इस काल्पनिक धारणा का दुरुपयोग भी करने लगा। और इस कारण, स्वामी के वापस लौटने पर, वह भारी दण्ड का भागी होगा (लूका 12:47-48)। प्रभु की कलीसिया में, कलीसिया के अगुवों को यह निर्देश है, उनसे यह अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि वह अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी के निर्वाह में नम्र और कोमल हों (1 पतरस 5:1-4)।

पहले उदाहरण (मत्ती 25:14-30), प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए तोड़ों के दृष्टांत में हम देखते हैं कि स्वामी ने अपने दासों को बुलाया और अपनी संपत्ति उनको सौंप दी (पद 14); और प्रत्येक को तोड़े दिए, प्रत्येक को उसकी योग्यता के अनुसार (पद 15)। जिन्हें पाँच तथा दो तोड़े मिले थे उन्होंने उनका सदुपयोग किया, और अपने स्वामी के लिए उतने ही और कमा लिए। लेकिन जिसे एक मिला था उसने मिट्टी खोदी और अपने स्वामी के पैसे छुपा दिए (पद 18)। स्वामी ने जो उसे सौंपा था, उसके प्रति वह लापरवाह और उदासीन था; और न ही उसने अन्य दोनों दासों द्वारा किए जा रहे काम से कोई संकेत लिया। इस दास ने केवल अपने समय की बरबादी ही की, प्रभु के लिए उपयुक्त कुछ भी नहीं किया। क्योंकि स्वामी बहुत दिनों के बाद वापस आया, इसलिए उसके पास स्वामी के लिए कुछ करने को बहुत समय था, किन्तु उसने कुछ नहीं किया; और स्वामी ने लौट कर आने पर अपने दासों से हिसाब लिया (पद 19)।

यह एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात है, ऐसी जिसके बारे में प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को ध्यान देना चाहिए, उसका एहसास रखना चाहिए – इससे बचने का कोई तरीका नहीं है, किसी भी रीति से नहीं – परमेश्वर ने हमें भण्डारी बनाया है, और वह हम सभी से हिसाब लेगा (रोमियों 14:12; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10; 1 पतरस 4:17-18)। मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए यह हिसाब लेना, उन्हें उनके अनन्त कालीन प्रतिफलों के दिए जाने के लिए होगा। उनके लिए यह न्याय किया जाना उद्धार पाने या न पाने के लिए नहीं होगा – इस प्रश्न का समाधान तो एक ही बार और हमेशा के लिए उसी पल हो गया था जब हमने सच्चे और खरे मन से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु को अपना निज उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार किया था और उसमें विश्वास करना आरंभ किया था, उसके जन बन गए थे।

जिन्होंने स्वामी की अपेक्षा के अनुसार जीवन व्यतीत किया, और उसके लिए निवेश किया, उन्हें स्वामी ने बहुत प्रतिफल दिए। लेकिन जिस ने स्वामी की अपेक्षा के अनुसार जीवन नहीं जिया, और जो इस बात के लिए क्षमा-प्रार्थी एवं लज्जित होने के स्थान पर, एक तोड़े वाले दास के समान, अपने आप को सही ठहराने के प्रयास करने लगा (पद 24-25), स्वामी ने उसी के मुँह के शब्दों के द्वारा उसे दोषी ठहराया, उसके तोड़े को उस से ले लिया, और उसे बाहर दण्ड के स्थान में भेज दिया, उसे दुष्ट, आलसी, निकम्मा कहा (पद 26-30)।

तो एक प्रकार के गैर-ज़िम्मेदार भण्डारी वे हैं जो परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें दिए गए वरदानों और योग्यताओं का उपयोग परमेश्वर के लाभ तथा परमेश्वर के राज्य की बढ़ोतरी के लिए नहीं करते हैं, परमेश्वर के लिए कार्य करने के प्रति उदासीन रहते हैं। ऐसे सेवकों को दुष्ट, आलसी, और निकम्मा कहा गया है, और उनके निष्क्रिय रहने के लिए उन्हें दण्ड दिया गया है। अन्त के समय ऐसे बहुत से होंगे जिन्होंने उद्धार तो पाया है, किन्तु परमेश्वर के राज्य में खाली हाथ प्रवेश करेंगे, और फिर उनके पास अनन्त काल का समय होगा अपनी ज़िम्मेदारियों के प्रति लापरवाह रहने और प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी होने के अवसरों को गँवाते रहने के लिए शोकित होने और हाथ मलते रहने के लिए (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15)।

अगले लेख में हम दूसरे प्रकार के गैर-ज़िम्मेदार दास के बारे में देखेंगे। यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Being an Irresponsible Steward - 1

   In the previous article we have seen that every Christian Believer is automatically also God’s steward for whatever God has given him; And he has to use the God given gifts for the benefit of the Church, for the glory of God (1 Peter 4:10). Although being a steward for God is inseparably linked with becoming a Christian Believer; yet, most Christan Believers do not realize and recognize this God given responsibility placed upon them along with their coming to faith. Today we will see how a Christian Believer, instead of being a worthy steward, can instead be an irresponsible steward of God, and eventually pay heavily for it.

There are basically two ways through which a person can be an irresponsible steward, and be liable for disciplinary action. These two ways are at the opposite extremes of the responsibility of stewardship given by God. We can be poor stewards of God by either:

• Being careless and unconcerned: by being like the servant who was given one talent in the Lord’s parable of talents (Matthew 25:14-30). But he did not bother about the honor and responsibility entrusted to him, nor was he concerned about the expectations of the Master, who had entrusted it to him. Although, he did not steal that talent, nor did he lose or misplace it anywhere, rather, returned the whole talent back to the Master; but since he did not put the talent entrusted to him to the expected use, he was punished for being careless and unconcerned (Matthew 25:24-30).

• Being overly possessive and usurping: by being like the servant mentioned in Luke 12:45-46, who because of the delay in the Master’s coming, assumed himself to be in the Master’s place, and under his self-assumed position of authority, began to misuse his stewardship. Therefore, at the return of the master, he will be heavily punished (Luke 12:47-48). In the Lord’s Church, the Elders of the Church have been instructed, and it is expected of them that they will be gentle and caring in fulfilling their responsibility (1 Peter 5:1-4).

In the first example (Matthew 25:14-30), we see in the Lord’s parable of the talents that the master called his servants and delivered his goods to them (vs. 14); and gave talents to them, to each one according to their individual ability (vs. 15). Those who had received five and two talents, utilized them, and gained as many more for their master; but the one who had received the one talent dug in the ground and hid his master’s money (vs. 18). He was uncaring, unconcerned about what his master had given him; and neither did he take cue from what the other two servants were doing. This servant only wasted his time, doing nothing worthwhile for the Lord. Since the master came after a long time, therefore he had plenty of time and opportunity to do something for the master, but did nothing; and on coming back the master took an account from his servants (vs. 19).

This is something of great importance, something that we Christian Believers should realize and note – there is no escaping this, not in any way – God has made us stewards, and God will also take an account from each and every one of us (Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Peter 4:17-18). For the Christian Believers this accounting, this judgment will be for their eternal rewards. It is not a judgment to determine being saved or not – this question was settled once and for all when we sincerely and honestly repented of our sins, and accepted the Lord Jesus as our personal saviour and came to faith in Him, and became the people of God.

Those who had lived up to the master’s expectations and had invested for the master, earned for him, they were handsomely rewarded by the master. But the one who did not live up to the master's expectation, he, like the servant given the one talent, instead of being sorry and asking forgiveness, tried to justify himself (vs.24-25). The master took the words of his own mouth and held him guilty; took away his talent and sent him out to be punished, calling him wicked, lazy, and unprofitable (vs. 26-30).

So, one kind of an irresponsible steward is the one who does not utilize his God given ability and gifts, for the profit of God, for the growth of God’s kingdom, and remains unconcerned about working for God. Such a steward has been called wicked, lazy, and unprofitable, and has been punished for his inaction. At the end, there will be many who were saved, but will enter God’s Kingdom empty handed, and will have an eternity to regret their neglect of responsibilities and missed opportunities to be useful for the Lord (1 Corinthians 3:13-15).

In the next article we will consider being the other kind of irresponsible steward. If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favour of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

इस श्रृंखला, व्यवस्था और उद्धार, विषय का, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के आधार पर अध्ययन को हमने तीन प्रश्नों के अनुसार करना आरम्भ किया था। ये तीन प्रश्न हैं:  पहला, यदि उद्धार व्यवस्था के पालन से नहीं है, तो फिर पुराने और नए नियम में व्यवस्था द्वारा जीवन मिलने की बात क्यों कही गई? दूसरा, व्यवस्था के दिए जाने का उद्देश्य क्या था? और तीसरा प्रश्न है कि आज हम मसीही विश्वासियों, प्रभु के लोगों के लिए, क्या व्यवस्था की कोई उपयोगिता अथवा भूमिका है? पिछले लेखों में हम व्यवस्था और व्यवहारिक जीवन से संबंधित इन तीन में से दो प्रश्नों - व्यवस्था द्वारा जीवन दिए जाने, और व्यवस्था के दिए जाने के उद्देश्य को देख चुके हैं। आज हम तीसरे प्रश्न, एक मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में व्यवस्था की उपयोगिता और भूमिका के बारे में देखेंगे।

वास्तव में व्यवस्था क्या है और उसके पालन से क्या अभिप्राय है, इसे हमने मत्ती 22:35-40 में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा एक व्यवस्थापक से हुई बातचीत से समझा था। हमने देखा था कि व्यवस्था कोई रीति-रिवाज़ों, पर्वों, भेंट-बलिदानों आदि का निर्वाह नहीं है। व्यवस्था परमेश्वर और मनुष्यों के साथ सही सम्बन्ध में आने और बने रहने के लिए परमेश्वर के निर्देश हैं। और इन सम्बन्धों के निर्वाह के लिये परमेश्वर के इन निर्देशों का पालन करना ही व्यवस्था का पालन करना है। जब परमेश्वर के साथ मनुष्य का सम्बन्ध सही हो जाता है, तो यह स्वतः ही उसके बदले हुए जीवन और अन्य मनुष्यों के साथ सही सम्बन्ध में रहने के द्वारा दिखने और प्रमाणित होने लगता है।

 

प्रभु और व्यवस्थापक के मध्य हुई इसी बातचीत को हम आज के इस तीसरे प्रश्न के संदर्भ में लूका 10:25-28 से लेंगे, विशेषकर लूका 10:28 से, जहाँ प्रभु यीशु ने इस चर्चा के निष्कर्ष में उस व्यवस्थापक से कहा, “उसने [प्रभु यीशु ने] उस से कहा, तू ने ठीक उत्तर दिया है, यही कर: तो तू जीवित रहेगा” (लूका 10:28)। यह ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि प्रभु यीशु ने उससे यह नहीं कहा कि “अब से तुझे यह सब करने की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी। बस मुझ पर विश्वास कर लेना, और यह सब तेरे लिए स्वतः ही पूरा हो जाएगा।” वरन प्रभु ने जोर देकर, बात के निष्कर्ष में उससे कहा, “यही कर: तो तू जीवित रहेगा”, यानि कि, व्यवस्था की सही समझ और परिभाषा के पालन को अनिवार्य किया, और इसके बाद कभी भी अपनी कही इस बात को बदला नहीं। साथ ही एक बार फिर यह ध्यान में रखने की बात है कि प्रभु द्वारा उससे यही करने को कहना, उसके द्वारा कोई रीति-रिवाज़ों, पर्वों, भेंट-बलिदानों आदि का निर्वाह करने को कहना नहीं था। वरन, परमेश्वर और मनुष्यों के साथ सही सम्बन्ध में आना, और बने रहने को पूरा करने की बात थी, जैसा कि इसके आगे के नेक सामरी के दृष्टांत (लूका 10:29-37) से भी प्रकट है।

 

    वर्तमान के, परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के समय में, विश्वास द्वारा प्रभु से उद्धार को दान के रूप में प्राप्त करने के समय में, लोगों में इस तात्पर्य को लेकर एक असमंजस आ सकता है कि व्यवस्था का पालन करना तो फिर से कर्मों से धर्मी बनने की बात हो रही है, न कि विश्वास से धर्मी ठहरने की। किन्तु ऐसा नहीं है। इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है कि प्रभु यीशु ने व्यवस्था को पूरा कर के हमारे सामने से उसे हटा दिया है; अब मसीही विश्वासियों को उसके पालन करने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं रही है, अब मसीह यीशु ही हमारा उद्धार और जीवन है (कुलुस्सियों 2:13-17)। किन्तु साथ ही यहाँ पद 14 और पद 16 पर ध्यान कीजिए, “और विधियों का वह लेख जो हमारे नाम पर और हमारे विरोध में था मिटा डाला; और उसको क्रूस पर कीलों से जड़ कर सामने से हटा दिया है” (कुलुस्सियों 2:14); “इसलिये खाने पीने या पर्व या नए चान्‍द, या सब्‍तों के विषय में तुम्हारा कोई फैसला न करे” (कुलुस्सियों 2:16)। यहाँ प्रयोग किए गए शब्दों पर ध्यान कीजिए और विचार कीजिए; पद 14 के अनुसार, जो हमारे विरोध में था वह “विधियों का लेख” था, जिसे पद 16 में “खाने पीने या पर्व या नए चान्‍द, या सब्‍तों” आदि की बातें कहा गया है, “उसको क्रूस पर कीलों से जड़ कर सामने से हटा दिया है”। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि ये सभी बातें प्रभु यीशु मसीह के चरित्र, जीवन, और समस्त मानव-जाति के उद्धार के लिए किए गए उनके कार्य के विभिन्न पहलुओं के प्ररूप और प्रतीक हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने इन सभी को अपनी देह में हमारे लिए पूरा कर के, अपने बलिदान और पुनरुत्थान के द्वारा इनके निर्वाह को हमारे सामने से हटा दिया है। प्रभु ने “व्यवस्था” को, अर्थात परमेश्वर के और मनुष्यों के साथ सही सम्बन्ध में आने और बने रहने को नहीं हटाया है, जो कि प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने के द्वारा सम्भव होता है। दूसरे शब्दों में, व्यवस्था अभी भी लागू है, बदली नहीं है; उसके निर्वाह की विधि अब प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता हो गई है।

 

इस बात को हम अगले लेख में भी देखेंगे। यदि आप अपने आप को किसी भी प्रकार की “व्यवस्था” - वह चाहे परमेश्वर की हो, या आपके धर्म, मत, समुदाय, या डिनॉमिनेशन की हो - के पालन के द्वारा धर्मी बनाने के, और अपने शरीर के कार्यों के द्वारा अपने आप को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बनाने के प्रयासों में लगे हैं; तो ध्यान देकर समझ लीजिए कि परमेश्वर का वचन स्पष्ट बताता है कि व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा नहीं, वरन, परमेश्वर के दिए हुए पश्चाताप और समर्पण करने के मार्ग का पालन करने के द्वारा ही आप परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी और उसे स्वीकार्य बन सकते हैं। अभी समय और अवसर रहते सही मार्ग अपना लें, और व्यर्थ तथा निष्फल मार्ग को छोड़ दें।

The Law & Living the Christian Faith – 1

 

At the beginning of this series on the Law and Salvation, we started out with three questions on which we would Biblically study this topic. These three questions are:  First, if salvation is not from the observance of the Law, then why do the Old and New Testaments speak of having life through the law? Second, why was the Law given? And the Third question is, does the Law have any utility or role, for us Christians, the people of the Lord, today? In the previous articles, we have seen the first two out of the three questions; the questions regarding the giving of life by the Law, and regarding the purpose behind giving of the Law. Today we'll look at the third question, the utility and role of the Law in the life of a Christian Believer.

 

We had understood from the Lord Jesus' conversation with a Scribe in Matthew 22:35-40 what the term “the Law” actually stands for, and what it means to follow the Law. We had seen that the Law is not the fulfilling of any rituals, feasts, offerings, sacrifices, etc. Rather, the Law are God's instructions to come into and live in the right relationship with God and with fellow humans; i.e., the living by and obeying God’s instructions for fulfilling these relationships is the observance of the Law. When man comes into a correct relationship with God, he automatically begins to demonstrate and affirm it by his changed life, and by living in the right relationship with other human beings too.

 

We'll take this same conversation between the Lord and the Scribe in the context of considering our third question today, but from Luke 10:25-28, especially Luke 10:28, where the Lord Jesus concluded this discussion by saying to the Scribe, "And He [The Lord Jesus] said to him, ‘You have answered rightly; do this and you will live’" (Luke 10:28). It is of great importance and certainly worth noting that the Lord Jesus did not say to him that "from now on you will no longer need to do all this. Just believe in me, and it will all be done automatically for you." But, at the conclusion of the talk, the Lord insisted and said to him, "Do this: then you will live", i.e., thereby, He made fulfilling the correct understanding and interpretation of the Law mandatory, and never changed His words after that. Once again, it is to be noted that the Lord’s asking him to do “this” was not asking him to fulfill the performing of any rituals, feasts, offerings, sacrifices etc. Rather, He was asking him to come into, and stay in the right relationship with, God and humans; as is evidenced by the parable of the Good Samaritan in following verses (Luke 10:29-37).

In the present times, i.e., the time of God's grace, the time of receiving salvation from the Lord as a gift, by faith, people may be confused about understanding the application of this teaching, of keeping the Law; misinterpreting it as again going towards becoming righteous by works. But it is not so. There is no doubt, and no going back on the fact that the Lord Jesus has fulfilled the law and removed it from us; Christian Believers in the Lord Jesus are no longer required to observe these requirements of the Law, Christ Jesus and He alone is our salvation and life (Colossians 2:13-17). But also note here verse 14 and verse 16, “having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross” (Colossians 2:14); "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths" (Colossians 2:16). Pay attention and consider the words used here; According to verse 14, what was against us was the “handwriting of requirements” which in verse 16 is referred to as “food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths” etc. It is these that the Lord Jesus “has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.” In the previous article we saw that all of these things are types and symbols of different aspects of the character, life, and work of the Lord Jesus Christ done for the salvation of all mankind. The Lord Jesus, having lived by and fulfilled all of these works for us in His body, has removed their requirement for us through His sacrifice and resurrection. The Lord has not removed the "Law," i.e., our coming into and living in a proper relationship with God and fellow human beings, which happens by coming into faith in the Lord Jesus. In other words, the Law is still in place and applicable, has not changed; what has changed is that it is now fulfilled through coming into faith in the Lord Jesus and being obedient to Him.

In the next article we will look at some other things about this. If you consider yourself righteous and acceptable to God by observance of any kind of “law”—whether of God, or of your religion, creed, community, or denomination—and by the actions of your flesh; then, pay heed and understand that God's Word clearly states that you can become righteous and acceptable to God, not by keeping the requirements of the Law, but by following God's path of repentance and submission. Now, while you have the time and opportunity, take the right step, and leave the useless and fruitless path that you may have been walking upon till now.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख से हमने देखना आरम्भ किया है कि सुसमाचार कैसे पहले ही से पुराने नियम में दिया गया था, और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की सेवकाई से संबंधित सभी बातों की भविष्यवाणी पुराने नियम में दी हुई है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह के जीवन, सेवकाई, बलिदान, और पुनरुत्थान से सम्बन्धित ऐसी कोई बात नहीं है, जो पहले से ही पवित्रशास्त्र में लिखी हुई न हो। प्रभु यीशु मसीह न जो कुछ उनके बारे में लिखा गया था, उसे पूरा किया। आज हम इसी के बार में परमेश्वर के वचन से कुछ और बातों को देखेंगे।

नए नियम में इब्रानियों की पत्री में, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के मनुष्य रूप में पृथ्वी पर आने के समय का वार्तालाप दर्ज किया गया है: इसी कारण वह जगत में आते समय कहता है, कि बलिदान और भेंट तू ने न चाही, पर मेरे लिये एक देह तैयार किया। होम-बलियों और पाप-बलियों से तू प्रसन्न नहीं हुआ। तब मैं ने कहा, देख, मैं आ गया हूं, (पवित्र शास्त्र में मेरे विषय में लिखा हुआ है) ताकि हे परमेश्वर तेरी इच्छा पूरी करूं (इब्रानियों 10:5-7)। ये पद भी हमारे लिए सुसमाचार के बारे में कुछ बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य रखते हैं - 

* जैसे परमेश्वर ने उत्पत्ति 3:15 में “स्त्री के वंश” की बात कही थी, उसकी के अनुसार, कुँवारी मरियम के गर्भ में पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य से एक मानव देह तैयार कर के रखी गई जिसमें होकर परमेश्वर पुत्र - प्रभु यीशु ने जगत में, बिना किसी पुरुष के योगदान के, एक कुँवारी से जन्म लिया।

* प्रभु का जगत में आना परमेश्वर की इच्छा को पूरा करने के लिए था - अर्थात परमेश्वर पिता की यह इच्छा पहले से ही विद्यमान थी, जिसे पूरा करने के लिए परमेश्वर पुत्र ने स्वर्ग का वैभव, आदर, और महिमा छोड़कर, अपने आप को शून्य करके (फिलिप्पियों 2:5-8) पृथ्वी पर आना स्वीकार किया। 

* प्रभु यीशु के विषय यह सब पवित्र शास्त्र में पहले से ही लिखा हुआ था। 

प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने अपने पुनरुत्थान के बाद, इम्माऊस के मार्ग पर जा रहे अपने दो शिष्यों के साथ हुई बातचीत में उन्हें स्मरण करवाया, फिर उसने उन से कहा, ये मेरी वे बातें हैं, जो मैं ने तुम्हारे साथ रहते हुए, तुम से कही थीं, कि अवश्य है, कि जितनी बातें मूसा की व्यवस्था और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और भजनों की पुस्तकों में, मेरे विषय में लिखी हैं, सब पूरी हों (लूका 24:44)। प्रेरित पौलुस के जीवन-परिवर्तन के बाद, पुराने नियम के अपने ज्ञान के आधार पर उसने और वह तुरन्त आराधनालयों में यीशु का प्रचार करने लगा, कि वह परमेश्वर का पुत्र है। परन्तु शाऊल और भी सामर्थी होता गया, और इस बात का प्रमाण दे देकर कि मसीह यही है, दमिश्क के रहने वाले यहूदियों का मुंह बन्द करता रहा (प्रेरितों 9:20, 22)। इसी प्रकार अपुल्लोस भी, जो पवित्र शास्त्र का अच्छा गया रखता था, अपुल्लोस नाम एक यहूदी जिस का जन्म सिकन्‍दिरया में हुआ था, जो विद्वान पुरुष था और पवित्र शास्त्र को अच्छी तरह से जानता था इफिसुस में आया। क्योंकि वह पवित्र शास्त्र से प्रमाण दे देकर, कि यीशु ही मसीह है; बड़ी प्रबलता से यहूदियों को सब के सामने निरुत्तर करता रहा (प्रेरितों 18:24, 28)।

अगले लेख में हम सुसमाचार के बारे में विचार करना ज़ारी रखेंगे, और देखेंगे कि कैसे यह आरम्भ से ही परमेश्वर की योजना का भाग है; और प्रभु यीशु के पृथ्वी पर आने के समय लोगों में प्रतिज्ञा किए हुए मसीहा के आने की प्रत्याशा थी।

The Gospel - Established Even Before Creation (2)

Since the last article we have begun to see how the gospel has been in place even in the Old Testament, and everything about the Lord Jesus's ministry had been prophesied in the Old Testament. Nothing of the Lord Jesus's life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection was unanticipated. The Lord Jesus only fulfilled what had already been written about Him. Today, we will continue considering some more aspects of this from God's Word. 

The first promise of the Savior was given by God at the same time that Adam and Eve sinned - And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel (Genesis 3:15). Generally speaking, in any family, the “seed” or posterity is considered to be from the man; the man is considered to be the one responsible for carrying forward the genealogy of the family. But here, God spoke of “her Seed”, i.e., the woman’s seed, who will crush the head of the serpent, of Satan, and be the savior of the world. That the Lord Jesus would be born of a woman without her conceiving and giving birth through the natural process of conception through man, and then destroy Satan and his works, was the first prophecy of salvation. It was according to this prophecy that at the time of the Lord’s coming to earth, Mary was assured, “Then the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:30-31, 34-35).

In the New Testament, in the book of Hebrews, the Lord’s conversation with God the Father, at the time of His coming to earth is given: Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, 'Behold, I have come-- In the volume of the book it is written of Me-- To do Your will, O God.' " (Hebrews 10:5-7). These verses too present some very pertinent facts about the Gospel before us -

* In accordance with what the Lord God spoke of in Genesis 3:15, about “her seed”, in the womb of the virgin Mary, a human body was prepared, and placed in Mary’s womb by the Holy Spirit; and through that, the Son of God, was “conceived” in a woman, without any man, and was born into this world.

* The Lord Jesus’s coming into this world was to fulfill the will of God; i.e., this will or desire was present in God the Father since beforehand. To fulfill this will, God the Son emptied Himself of the glory, honour, and majesty of heaven (Philippians 2:5-8), willingly accepted to come down and be born on earth as the only begotten Son of God.

* This had already been written down about the Lord Jesus centuries before His birth.

After His resurrection, during His conversation with two of His disciples, on the way to Emmaus, He reminded them of this, Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me." (Luke 24:44). The apostle Paul, after he was saved and his life was changed, on the basis of the Old Testament Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God. But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ (Acts 9:20, 22). Similarly, Apollos as well, who had a good knowledge of the Scriptures, Now a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the Scriptures, came to Ephesus. for he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ (Acts 18:24, 28).

In the next article, continuing our considerations about the gospel, we will see that it was part of God's plan since the beginning; and the people were already in anticipation of the arrival of the promised Messiah, when the Lord Jesus came to earth.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
