       पिछले लेख में हमने परमेश्वर के वचन से देखा था कि जैसे पिछले लेखों में बारम्बार ज़ोर देकर कहा गया है, केवल ना-जन्म पाए हुए परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध और समर्पित लोगों को ही प्रभु भोज में सम्मिलित होना है, जैसे कि केवल इस्राएली, अब्राहम के साथ परमेश्वर द्वारा बाँधी गई वाचा के लोग, ही फसह में भाग ले सकते थे। जिस प्रकार से, यदि कोई फसह में भाग लेना चाहता था, उसे पहले स्वयं को अब्राहम के साथ परमेश्वर द्वारा बाँधी गई वाचा के अधीन लाना होता था, और तब वह भाग ले सकता था, उसी प्रकार से जो प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना चाहते हैं, उन्हें पहले विश्वास के द्वारा परमेश्वर की सन्तान बनना है, और उसके बाद वे भाग ले सकते हैं। आज हम देखेंगे कि किस प्रकार से फसह, और वैसे ही प्रभु भोज भी परमेश्वर के लोगों को एक साथ एकता में लाता है।

        जैसा कि निर्गमन 12:49 कहता है, भाग लेने के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा केवल एक ही नियम दिया गया है, और वही एक नियम सभी के लिए लागू है। इस एक नियम में किसी के भी द्वारा, किसी के भी लिए, कोई भी परिवर्तन किए जाने का कोई प्रावधान नहीं है। जिन्हें इसमें भाग लेना है, उन्हें अपने आप को उसी एक नियम की अधीनता में लाना होगा; न कि लोगों को उसमें बैठा लेने के लिए नियम में बदलाव कर लें। यह एक बार फिर से हमारे सामने बाइबल के इस तथ्य को बहुत स्पष्टता और दृढ़ता से लाता है कि फसह में या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना केवल परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई विधि के अनुसार ही होना है। इसी प्रकार से, जैसा कि हम पहले के लेखों में देख चुके हैं, प्रभु ने मेज़ को स्थापित करते समय कहा था “मेरे स्मरण के लिये यही किया करो” (लूका 22:19; 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25); यहाँ पर “यही” वह है जो प्रभु यीशु ने किया था, और जो प्रथम कलीसिया के लोग किया करते थे। जब कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों ने इसे बिगड़ने और बदलने के प्रयास किए तब पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित पौलुस में होकर उन्हें 1 कुरिन्थियों 11 में सही किया - जिसे हम आते समय में देखेंगे। लेकिन परमेश्वर के वचन से जो बात स्पष्ट है, वह है कि न तो फसह और न ही प्रभु भोज में परमेश्वर द्वारा स्थापित विधि के अतिरिक्त किसी भी अन्य रीति से भाग नहीं लिया जाना है। क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने इसमें किसी के भी द्वारा, किसी के भी लिए, कोई भी फेर-बदल या परिवर्तन करने की अनुमति नहीं दी है; इसलिए इसके विषय विभिन्न समुदायों और डिनॉमिनेशंस द्वारा अपने ही नियम और रीतियाँ बनाकर लागू करने की कोई गुंजाइश, कोई संभावना का ज़रा सा भी स्थान कदापि नहीं है। यह करना न केवल परमेश्वर के वचन के विरुद्ध जाना है, जो नियम परमेश्वर ने दिया है उसके विरुद्ध, परंतु पाप करना तथा मण्डली के लोगों से पाप करवाना भी है। क्योंकि बाइबल के अनुसार पाप की एक परिभाषा है “जो कोई पाप करता है, वह व्यवस्था का विरोध करता है; ओर पाप तो व्यवस्था का विरोध है” (1 यूहन्ना 3:4)।

       तो, इससे हम देखते हैं कि चाहे फसह हो या प्रभु की मेज़, वे परमेश्वर के सभी लोगों को, परमेश्वर की सारी संतानों को एक ही नियम के अन्तर्गत, एक ही समान स्तर पर ले आते हैं। इनमें सम्मिलित होना उनके लिए है जो परमेश्वर का तथा उसके वचन का आदर करते हैं, उसके विधानों के प्रति समर्पित रहने के लिए राज़ी हैं; न कि परमेश्वर के नाम में अपनी ही इच्छा और मन की बातों को पूरा करते हैं। जो अपनी इच्छा पूरी करते हैं, वे अपने आप को परमेश्वर से ऊँचा दिखाना, उसका स्थान लेना चाहते हैं, और उन्हें यह नहीं सोचना चाहिए कि परमेश्वर इसे हल्के में लेगा, उसके प्रति उनकी इस अनाज्ञाकारिता का कोई हिसाब नहीं लेगा। वे सभी बहुत बारीकी और कड़ाई से जाँचे जाएंगे, और उनके किए के अनुपात में दण्ड भी पाएंगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। अगले लेख में, इसी खंड से, हम परमेश्वर द्वारा किए गए अद्भुत प्रावधान के बारे में देखेंगे। 

        यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - Only for God’s People (2)

 

       In the previous article we saw from God's Word, what has been repeatedly been emphasized in the earlier articles, that only the committed, surrendered, Born-Again people of God are to participate in the Holy Communion, just as only the Israelites, the people of God's covenant with Abraham participated in the Passover. As those wanting to participate in the Passover were to first submit themselves to God's covenant with Abraham, and then participate, similarly those who want to participate in the Holy-Communion have to first become the children of God by faith, and then participate. Today, we will see how the Passover, as well as the Holy Communion bring God's people together in unity.

        As Exodus 12:49 says, there is only one law for participation given by God, and the same is applicable to everyone. There is no provision for any variation or alteration of that law by anyone, for anyone. Those who want to participate, have to bring themselves under that law; and not that God’s law can be modified to accommodate people. This again clearly and firmly brings before us the Biblical fact that participating in the Passover, or the Holy Communion, has to be in the manner, according to way given by God. Similarly, as we have seen in earlier articles, while initiating the Lord’s Table, the Lord Jesus said “do this in remembrance of me” (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25); the “this” being what the Lord Jesus had done, and what the members of the first Church used to do. When the Corinthian Believers started to distort and change the manner of participating in the Holy Communion, the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul, corrected them in 1 Corinthians 11 - which we will see in the days to come. But what is clear from God’s Word is that neither the Passover, nor the Holy Communion are to be observed and participated in, in any manner other than what the Lord God has ordained. Since no alterations or modifications by anyone, for any reason, are permissible by God for what He has ordained; therefore, there is no scope or place for different sects and denominations putting up their own rules and regulations about it, and setting up their own methods of observing it. Doing this is not only going against God’s Word, against God’s law that He has given, but is also committing sin and making the congregation sin as well; since one of the Biblical definitions of sin is “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness” (1 John 3:4).

        So, we see from this that whether the Passover, or the Lord’s Table, they bring all God’s people, God’s children under one law, all to the same status. It is meant for those who respect God and His Word, are willing and submissive to obey His laws and ordinances, instead of doing their own thing, in God’s name. Those who do  their will, try to supersede God, and should not think God will take it casually, not take an account from them for this violation of His law. There will be a strict accounting and proportionate consequences of violating God’s Word (1 Corinthians 3:13-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10). In the next article, from this same section, we will see about the amazing provision that God has made.

       If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ की स्थापना, अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह मनाते हुए, फसह की सामग्री के उपयोग के द्वारा की थी। हम निर्गमन 12 में फसह के बारे में दी गई बातों से प्रभु भोज के बारे में सीखते आ रहे हैं; और अब हम अपने तीसरे और अंतिम खण्ड पद 43-49 में पहुँच गए हैं। हम पद 40-42 के बारे में पिछले दो लेखों में पहले ही देख चुके हैं। आज हम फसह से संबंधित एक और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात के बारे में पद 43-49 से देखेंगे, ऐसी बात जो प्रभु भोज से भी संबंध रखती है, और हमारे अध्ययन के पहले खण्ड, पद 1-14 की बातों के अध्ययन के समय बारंबार कही गई बात की पुष्टि करती है।

       पहले खण्ड, निर्गमन 12:1-14 के अध्ययन के समय, लगभग प्रत्येक लेख में इस बात को जोर देकर कहा गया था कि उसके प्ररूप फसह के समान ही प्रभु भोज भी कभी भी ऐसे लोगों के द्वारा जो रस्म और रीति के समान अपने आप को प्रभु के साथ जोड़ लेते हैं, हल्के में, एक औपचारिकता के समान भाग लेने के लिए नहीं था। वरन, परमेश्वर ने दोनों, फसह, तथा प्रभु की मेज़ को परमेश्वर के लोगों या नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों, अर्थात परमेश्वर की संतान ही के लिए निर्धारित किया है। हम इस बात को इस खण्ड निर्गमन 12:43-49 में बड़े जोर के साथ लिखे और कहे जाते देखते हैं। लेकिन साथ ही हम इस खण्ड में परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया एक बहुत अद्भुत प्रावधान को भी देखते हैं, जिसे सामान्यतः पहचाना और अंगीकार नहीं किया जाता है। संक्षेप में, इस खण्ड में परमेश्वर ने बिल्कुल स्पष्ट कर दिया है कि जब तक कि उस व्यक्ति का, जो एक परदेशी हो (पद 43), मोल लिया हुआ दास हो (पद 44), यात्री या मजदूर हो (पद 45), या इस्राएलियों के मध्य रहने वाला कोई परदेशी हो (पद 48), खतना नहीं हो जाए, अर्थात वह अब्राहम के साथ परमेश्वर द्वारा बांधी हुई वाचा के अधीन न आ जाए, तब तक उसे फसह में भाग लेने की अनुमति नहीं है। फसह “को मानना इस्राएल की सारी मण्डली का कर्तव्य कर्म है” (पद 47), गैर-इस्राएलियों का नहीं; और “कोई खतनारहित पुरुष उस में से न खाने पाए” (पद 48)। इसमें किसी भी अपवाद की, परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए विधान में किसी बदलाव की कोई गुंजाइश नहीं थी; सभी को परमेश्वर के उसी एक ही नियम का पालन करना था (पद 49)।

        अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे और उस एकता के बारे में कुछ और देखेंगे जो परमेश्वर के द्वारा निर्धारित विधि से फसह, और प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने से, परमेश्वर के लोगों में आती है।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - Only for God’s People (1)

 

       We have seen before that the Lord Jesus initiated the Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Table, while observing the Passover with His disciples, using the elements of the Passover Feast. We have been studying about the Holy Communion through the Passover, from Exodus 12; and we are now in our third and final section of verses 40-49. We have already seen from verses 40-42 in the previous two articles. Today we will see another very important aspect of the Passover, from verses 43-49, that also relates to the Holy Communion, and affirms what has been repeatedly emphasized, especially while studying the first section, of verses 1-14.

        During our study of the first section, Exodus 12:1-14, it was emphasized in practically every article that the Holy Communion, like its antecedent the Passover, was never meant for a casual, perfunctory participation by anyone who associated himself with the Lord God. Rather, God has ordained both, the Passover, as well as the Lord’s Table for only the people of God or the Born-Again Christian Believers, the children of God. We see this strongly stated and emphasized in this section of Exodus 12:43-49. But we also see an amazing provision of God given here, that is often not recognized and acknowledged. In brief, in this section God has made it very clear that unless a person, whether a foreigner (verse 43), or bought house servant (verse 44), or a sojourner or a hired servant (verse 45), or a stranger dwelling with the Israelites (verse 48), is circumcised, i.e., comes under the covenant of God with Abraham and his descendants, he is not permitted to eat the Passover. Passover is meant only for “congregation of Israel” (verse 47); and “no uncircumcised person shall eat it” (verse 48). There were to be no exceptions, no variation of God’s ordinance, everyone had to abide by one and the same ordinance of God (verse 49).

        This by itself very clearly and firmly negates the notion that partaking the Passover would make the participants the people of God. What God’s Word says is that only the people of God are to partake of the Passover; those who are not the people of God, but want to partake of the Passover, had to first come under the covenant of God, through circumcision, made by God with Abraham (Genesis 17:9-14), and only then partake of it. Similarly, the Lord Jesus too had established the Holy Communion with His committed disciples from the Passover, and only those who had committed themselves to be the disciples of the Lord Jesus, and had surrendered themselves to live in obedience to Him and His Word were to take part in the Holy Communion. In the New Testament, from the very beginning of the Church, we find that those who accepted Lord Jesus as their saviour and submitted themselves to Him, only they would participate in the Holy Communion (Acts 2:41-42). There is no mention anywhere in God’s Word that by participating in and partaking of the Lord’s Table, anyone ever became a disciple of the Lord Jesus, or, was anyone ever assured that their partaking in the Holy Communion made them the people of God and worthy of entering heaven. These are all unBiblical false teaching and doctrines, brought in by Satan to beguile and mislead people into eternal destruction.

       In the next article we will carry on from here and consider some more about the unity that the Passover, or the Lord's Table brings to those participating in it in the God ordained manner.

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने मिस्र से इस्राएल के छुटकारे के समय दिए गए मेमने के बलिदान को हमेशा के लिए समस्त इस्राएलियों द्वारा उस छुटकारे को याद करने के लिए मनाए जाने वाले फसह के वार्षिक पर्व में परिवर्तित किया था। साथ ही हमने इस्राएलियों के ही व्यवहार से यह भी देखा था कि यह मानवीय प्रवृत्ति है कि वह शीघ्र ही अपनी कही बात भुला कर कुछ भिन्न ही करने लगता है। इसलिए यह स्मरण दिलाने की बात अति आवश्यक एवं महत्वपूर्ण है। प्रभु-भोज भी हमें हमारे पापों से छुटकारे के लिए प्रभु के बलिदान और पुनरुत्थान का स्मरण करवाता है, कहीं हम इस छुटकारे को अपनी धार्मिकता और कार्यों का परिणाम न समझने लगें। आज हम इसी बात को निर्गमन 12:42 से देखेंगे।

       निर्गमन 12:42 में उल्लेखित दूसरी बात है कि यहोवा परमेश्वर ही उन्हें मिस्र से निकाल कर लाया था। वे लोग अपने आप से कुछ भी नहीं करने पाए थे। हम देख चुके हैं, कि जैसे निर्गमन 1:7-12 में लिखा है, इस्राएली संख्या में मिस्रियों से अधिक हो गए थे, वे मिस्रियों से अधिक सामर्थी थे, और मिस्रियों पर उनका भय छाया हुआ था; फिर भी अपनी कुटिलता के द्वारा मिस्रियों ने इस्राएली लोगों को अपनी बंधुवाई में ले लिया, उन्हें सताने लग गए, और इस्राएली छुटकारे के लिए परमेश्वर को पुकारने लगे (निर्गमन 3:7-9)। इस्राएलियों की संख्या और सामर्थ्य उन्हें मिस्रियों की कुटिलता, बंधुवाई, और सताव से नहीं छुड़ा सकी। इसी प्रकार से मसीही विश्वासियों को भी उनकी किसी योग्यता, धर्म, धार्मिक तथा भले कामों, कैसी भी “धार्मिकता”, आदि ने नहीं छुड़ाया और न ही उद्धार दिया है। यह केवल परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से, प्रभु यीशु के कलवरी के क्रूस पर हमारे पापों के लिए दिए गए बलिदान और उनकी कीमत के चुकाए जाने से मिली पापों की क्षमा के द्वारा संभव हुआ है (इफिसियों 2:1-9)। प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा है कि उसकी मेज़ में, उसके इसी बलिदान की याद में भाग लिया करें (लूका 22:19; 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25), अर्थात, उसने जो उनके लिए किया है, उन्हें किस प्रकार अनन्त विनाश से बचाया है, उसे याद करते हुए।

        इसलिए, प्रभु भोज में सम्मिलित होना अपनी किसी “धार्मिकता”, सांसारिक ओहदे, किसी प्रकार के कार्यों, या किसी योग्यता के प्रदर्शन के लिए या घमण्ड करने के लिए नहीं है। वरन, यह अपने आप को दीन और नम्र करके उस बात को याद करना है जो प्रभु ने हमारे पापों से हमें छुड़ाने के लिए सही है; और पश्चातापी; कृतज्ञता से भरे हृदय के साथ, हमारे लिए उसके द्वारा दिए गए बलिदान को स्मरण करने के लिए है। इसी बात के कारण, प्रभु की मेज़ में सम्मिलित होना किसी को भी पवित्र, या धर्मी, या परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं बना सकता है। जैसे प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने आज्ञा दी है, यह मेज़ केवल यादगार के लिए है, न कि इस भाग लेने वालों को कुछ प्रदान करने के लिए। यह ध्यान रखते हुए कि मेज़ किस बात की यादगार के लिए है, भाग लेने वालों को इसमें नम्रता, आज्ञाकारिता, और उसके प्रति समर्पण के साथ भाग लेना है, जिसे वे याद कर रहे हैं और जिस कारण से उसे याद कर रहे हैं।  

        यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - To Honor & Exalt The Lord God (2)

 

       In the previous article we had seen that God had converted the sacrifice of the lamb done at the time of Israel's deliverance from Egypt, as an annual feast to be observed by the Israelites. We had also seen from the behavior of the Israelites, that it is a common human tendency to soon forget what they have said, and start doing things differently. Therefore, it is very important and essential to have something to keep us reminding about certain things. The Holy Communion too reminds us that we have been saved from the consequences of our sins by the sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus; lest we start thinking and believing that it is the result of our own works and righteousness. Today, we will see about this from this verse, Exodus 12:42.

       The second thing mentioned in Exodus 12:42 is that it was the Lord God who brought them out of Egypt. They could not do anything about it by themselves. We have seen, that as written in Exodus 1:7-12, that the Israelites had become more in number than the Egyptians, they were mightier than the Egyptians, and the Egyptians were in dread of them; yet because of the shrewd handling by the Egyptians, the Israelites were under oppression and were crying out to the Lord for deliverance (Exodus 3:7-9). The numbers and might of the Israelites could not deliver them from the shrewd tactics, bondage, and oppression of the Egyptians. Similarly, the Christian Believers have been redeemed and saved not by any of their capabilities, or religion, or religious and good works, or any kind of “righteousness” etc., but solely by the grace of God, through forgiveness of our sins because of the Lord Jesus having paid for them on the Cross of Calvary on our behalf (Ephesians 2:1-9). The Lord Jesus has asked His disciples to partake of His Table in remembrance of His sacrifice for them (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25), i.e., in remembrance of what He has done for them, how He has saved them from eternal destruction.

        So, partaking of the Lord’s Table is not to show off or be proud of one’s “righteousness”, worldly status, works of any kind, or any capabilities. But it is to humble ourselves, remember and acknowledge what the Lord had to undergo to save us from our sins; and with a contrite, humble heart full of gratitude, remember His sacrifice for our sake. For this very reason the partaking in the Table cannot make anyone holy, or righteous, or acceptable to God. As decreed by the Lord Jesus, the Table is only for remembrance, and not to impart anything to the participants. In view of what it commemorates, the participants have to take part in humility, obedience and submission to the one they are remembering, and the reason He is to be remembered.

       If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       निर्गमन 12 में प्रभु भोज के प्ररूप, फसह, से संबंधित बातों और परमेश्वर के निर्देशों के द्वारा प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के संबंध में सीखते हुए, हमने पिछले दो लेखों से अपने तीसरे खण्ड, पद 40-49 के बारे में देखना आरंभ किया है। पिछले लेख में हमने पद 40-41 से देखा है कि परमेश्वर अपनी ही समय-सारणी के अनुसार कार्य करता है, और वह जो निर्धारित कर देता है, उसे कोई नहीं बदल सकता है। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि परमेश्वर के बच्चों को चाहे जिस भी परिस्थिति से होकर निकलना पड़े, चाहे बंधन या सताव ही हो, उन सभी का एक उद्देश्य होता है, और ये सभी उनके दीर्घ-कालीन लाभ के लिए ही होती हैं, चाहे वर्तमान में वे कठिन, दुखदायी, और व्यर्थ ही क्यों न लगें।

       पद 42 में परमेश्वर का वचन फिर से परमेश्वर के लोगों के छुटकारे से संबंधित कुछ बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तथ्यों को दोहराता है, जिन्हें सदा याद रखना चाहिए। इस एक पद में, यह दो बार कहा गया है कि इस्राएल के छुटकारे की वह रात यहोवा के निमित्त मानने के लिए है, अर्थात, उन्हें उसे प्रभु परमेश्वर को आदर देने और महिमा देने के लिए याद रखना और मनाना है; यह एक बार कहा गया है कि सभी इस्राएलियों को यह स्मरण रखना है कि यहोवा ही ने उन्हें मिस्र से छुड़ाया है; और यह एक बार कहा गया है कि इस्राएलियों को इसे अपनी सभी पीढ़ियों में मनाना है - पद 14 का यादगार पर्व, जिसके बारे में हम पहले देख चुके हैं।

        हम जानते हैं कि इस्राएलियों को मिस्र के दासत्व से छुड़ाने के लिए परमेश्वर ने यद्यपि मूसा और हारून को उपयोग किया था, किन्तु आरम्भ में मूसा इस ज़िम्मेदारी को लेने के लिए बिल्कुल असहमत था (निर्गमन 3:11-4:10)। एक बार पहले वह अपनी सामर्थ्य और योग्यता के सहारे यह करने का प्रयास कर चुका था, और वह बुरी तरह से असफल रहा था (निर्गमन 2:11-15; प्रेरितों 7:23-29)। परमेश्वर ने बहुत प्रयास से यह कार्य करने के लिए मूसा को मनाया, तैयार किया, और सामर्थ्य प्रदान की; और मूसा ने अपनी नहीं, परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य से इस्राएलियों को छुटकारा दिलाया। किन्तु पापी मनुष्य में यह प्रवृत्ति होती है कि परमेश्वर की अनदेखी कर के, उस मनुष्य को आदर और महिमा प्रदान करे जो उसके समक्ष परमेश्वर के नाम में सिखा और काम कर रहा है; इस्राएलियों ने भी यही किया। यद्यपि उन्होंने प्रतिज्ञा की थी कि वे परमेश्वर के पीछे चलेंगे, उसके आज्ञाकारी रहेंगे, क्योंकि उसने ही उन्हें मिस्र से छुड़ाया था (निर्गमन 19:3-8), फिर भी जब मूसा दस आज्ञाएँ लेने के लिए गया, उनके मध्य में से उसकी कुछ ही दिन की अनुपस्थिति के कारण, उन्होंने अपने छुटकारे का श्रेय मूसा को दिया, परमेश्वर को भूलकर परमेश्वर के विमुख हो गए, और हारून से मांग की, कि वह उनके लिए देवता बनाए जो उनके आगे-आगे चले (निर्गमन 32:1)। यह केवल इस्राएलियों के लिए ही सत्य नहीं है; परंतु अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही समाज, यहाँ तक कि मसीही विश्वासी भी इसी पाप के दोषी हैं।

        पौलुस ने कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों को पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में डाँट लगाते हुए उनकी भर्त्सना की, क्योंकि वे लोग अपने आप को उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु के पीछे चलने वाले नहीं, बल्कि उनके मध्य में कार्य करने वाले प्रभु के सेवकों के अनुयायी बनकर आपस में विभाजित होने लग गए थे; प्रभु के नाम में साथ जुड़े हुए रहने के स्थान पर, अपने मन-पसंद प्रभु के सेवक के नाम में गुटों में बंटने लगे थे (1 कुरिन्थियों  1:10-13; 3:3-9)। विभाजित कर देने की यही शैतानी आत्मा आज भी कलीसियाओं में कार्य कर रही है; ईसाई या मसीही समाज में विद्यमान अनेकों डिनॉमिनेशंस, समुदाय, गुट, आदि इसका प्रमाण हैं। इसीलिए, मसीहियों में सेवकाई का उद्देश्य है “जब तक कि हम सब के सब विश्वास, और परमेश्वर के पुत्र की पहचान में एक न हो जाएं, और एक सिद्ध मनुष्य न बन जाएं और मसीह के पूरे डील डौल तक न बढ़ जाएं” (इफिसियों 4:13)। इस प्रकार से एक बार फिर से हम निर्गमन 12:42 से सीखते हैं कि जैसे इस्राएलियों को किसी मनुष्य को नहीं बल्कि परमेश्वर को आदर और महिमा देने के लिए फसह में भाग लेना था, उसी प्रकार से मसीही विश्वासियों को भी प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में प्रभु को आदर और महिमा देने के लिए भाग लेना है, मंडली में एकता के लिए प्रयासरत रहना है, न कि दलों और गुटों में बंटना है।

        अगले लेख में हम इस पद, निर्गमन 12:42, में दी गई दूसरी बात, अर्थात किसी मनुष्य द्वारा नहीं, वरन् परमेश्वर द्वारा छुटकारा प्राप्त होने के बारे में देखेंगे।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - To Honor & Exalt The Lord God (1)

 

       While learning about the Holy Communion, through what God has said and ordained for its antecedent the Passover in Exodus 12, we have started to consider our third section comprising verses 40-49 since the last two articles. In verses 40-41, as we have seen in the previous article, God’s Word reminds us that God works according to His time-table, and nothing can alter what He decides. We also saw that everything that God’s children have to pass through, even the bondage and afflictions, are for a purpose and for their long-term benefit, even though immediately they may seem harsh, painful, and vain.

        In verse 42, God’s Word again reiterates some other very important facts related to the deliverance of God’s people, that should always be kept in mind by them. Twice in this one verse it says that the night of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt is of solemn observance to the Lord, i.e., they have to remember and observe it to honor and exalt the Lord; once it says that all the children of Israel should remember that it was the Lord who delivered them out of Egypt; and once it is said that this is to be observed by Israel throughout their generations - the memorial feast of verse 14, about which we have already seen.

        We know that God used Moses and Aaron to deliver the Israelites from Egypt, but we also know that initially Moses was very reluctant to take up this responsibility (Exodus 3:11-4:10). He had once earlier assumed that he could do it through his own capabilities and failed miserably in the attempt (Exodus 2:11-15; Acts 7:23-29). Though God did persuade, make ready, and empower Moses, but it was God’s power, not Moses' abilities, through which the Israelites were delivered. But sinful man has the tendency to disregard God and give honor and credit to a person whom he sees saying and doing things in the name of God; the Israelites too did the same. Despite committing themselves to follow God and be His obedient people, since He had delivered them from Egypt (Exodus 19:3-8), when Moses went to receive the Ten Commandments, within a few days of his absence from their midst, they ascribed their deliverance to Moses, forgot God and turned their backs to Him, demanded from Aaron that he make new ‘gods’ for them, to go before them (Exodus 32:1). This is not true for just the Israelites, but most of Christendom, even the Christian Believers are guilty of this same sin.

        Paul while admonishing the Christian Believers of Corinth through the Holy Spirit, chides them for dividing themselves up as followers of not their savior Lord, but the ministers of the Lord amongst them; instead of remaining united in the name of the Lord, they had divided themselves according to their favorite ministers of the Lord (1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 3:3-9). This same satanic spirit of creating divisions and factions within the Church is at work even today; and the numerous sects, denominations, groups, divisions in Christendom are the evidence. That is why the goal of Christian Ministry amongst Believers is “till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13). So once again we learn from Exodus 12:42 that like the Israelites had to partake in and observe the Passover to honor and exalt the Lord God, not man; similarly, the Christian Believers have to partake in the Holy Communion, or participate in the Lord’s Table to honor and exalt the Lord, and strive for unity, not divisions and factions in the Church.

        In the next article, we will see about the second thing mentioned in this verse, Exodus 12:42, i.e., deliverance through God, not man.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने एक उद्देश्य से इस्राएल के 12 गोत्रों और उनकी सन्तानों को मिस्र में एक साथ रखा, एक साथ दुख भी उठाने दिए, जिससे सभी इस्राएली 12 गोत्रों वाले एक राष्ट्र के रूप में साथ जुड़ जाएं; और परमेश्वर उन्हें सँख्या तथा सामर्थ्य में बढ़ाता भी चला गया; और फिर निर्धारित समय पर उन्हें मिस्र से निकाल लाया। प्रभु-भोज भी मसीही विश्वासियों के एक होने को सिखाता है, स्मरण दिलाता है, जैसा कि हम आज देखेंगे। 

        संसार के अंत और उसके न्याय के लिए परमेश्वर की एक समय-सारणी है, और यह उसी नियत समय पर ही होगा। जब तक यह न हो, शैतान और उसके दुष्ट लोग परमेश्वर के लोगों को हर प्रकार से सताते रहेंगे। पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा पौलुस ने लिखा कि यह सताया जाना परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिए ठहराया गया है (फिलिप्पियों 1:29; 2 तिमुथियुस 3:12); और पतरस कहता है कि इस सताव का होना इस बात का प्रमाण है कि हम सही मार्ग पर हैं (1 पतरस 4:12-17)। ये सताव हमारे लिए भी वही उद्देश्य पूरा करते हैं जो इस्राएलियों के लिए करते थे, ये हमें प्रभु में विश्वास में बांध और जोड़ कर एक परिवार - परमेश्वर के परिवार, के लोगों के समान बनाते हैं। क्योंकि चाहे कहीं पर भी, किसी भी “चर्च” के लोग सताए जाएं, शेष लोग मिलकर उनके लिए प्रार्थना करते हैं, उन्हें सहायता पहुंचाते हैं। साथ ही, इसके द्वारा मसीही विश्वासी संख्या अथवा गुणवत्ता में घटते नहीं हैं, वरन और बढ़ते चले जाते हैं। यह इसलिए होता है क्योंकि संसार के लोग सताने वालों, तथा सताए जा रहे लोगों के जीवनों में अंतर और तुलना को स्वयं देखने पाते हैं, और यह उनके सामने सुसमाचार की व्यावहारिकता को ले आता है। साथ ही सताने वाले जब जब उनके द्वारा मसीहियों को ताड़ना देने के कारण को बताते हैं, तब प्रभु यीशु का नाम और उसमें विश्वास करने की बात भी सामने आ ही जाती है, यीशु का प्रचार हो ही जाता है (फिलिप्पियों 1:12-18)। और जब प्रभु के प्रतिबद्ध एवं समर्पित शिष्य सताए जाने के कारण एक से दूसरे स्थान को जाते हैं, तो वे साथ ही सुसमाचार को नए क्षेत्रों में भी पहुँचाते जाते हैं (प्रेरितों 8:4)। यह सताया जाना एक और बहुत महत्वपूर्ण कार्य भी करता है - यह झूठे “विश्वासियों” को भी प्रकट कर देता है, और उन्हें बाहर निकाल देता है, क्योंकि वे प्रभु के नाम के लिए सताए जाने के लिए तैयार नहीं होते हैं, और अपने “विश्वास” को त्याग देते हैं।

        फसह में भाग लेने का परमेश्वर का निर्देश, और अपने शिष्यों से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहने का प्रभु यीशु का निर्देश, दोनों एक ही बात को दिखाते हैं - परमेश्वर के लोगों को साथ मिलकर परमेश्वर का आज्ञाकारी बने रहना है, और एक साथ उसके कार्य में लगे रहना है, और पाप तथा सांसारिकता से अपने आप को बचाकर रखना, जब तक कि प्रभु अपनी कलीसिया को संसार से छुड़ा नहीं लेता है और उसे अपने साथ अनन्तकाल तक रहने के लिए एकत्रित नहीं कर लेता है। एक बार फिर यह, जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं, दिखाता है कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता नहीं है, और न ही यह भाग लेने वालों के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य तथा स्वर्ग जाने के योग्य होने के लिए है। किन्तु यह उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार हैं।

        यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - For Those United & Delivered as One (2)

 

       We had seen in the previous article that God placed the 12 tribes of Israel and their children together in Egypt, allowed them to suffer together, so that all the Israelites would get united together as one nation of 12 tribes; and God continued to increase them in numbers and strength; and then, at the set time, He delivered them out of Egypt. The Holy Communion also teaches and reminds us that the Christian Believers should stay together in unity, as we will see today.

        God has His time-table for the end of the world and its judgment, and it will happen at its appointed time. Till that happens, the devil and his evil forces will continue to oppose and afflict in every possible way they can, the people of God. Through the Holy Spirit, Paul says that this passing through sufferings has been ordained for God’s people (Philippians 1:29; 2 Timothy 3:12); and Peter says that the presence of these afflictions is proof that we are on the right path (1 Peter 4:12-17). These afflictions serve the same purpose for us, as it served for the Israelites, they bind and knit us together in faith in the Lord, as people of one family - the family of God; for no matter which “church” or group of Christian Believers is persecuted, or where, but the rest join together to help and to pray for them. Also, instead of destroying or diminishing the Christian Believers in quantity or quality, these sufferings serve to increase and multiply the number of Believers. This happens because the people of the world see the difference and contrast in the lives of the persecutors and of the Believers of the Lord Jesus, and it automatically brings the Gospel before the people of the world. Also, in stating the reason for their being persecuted, automatically, the name of Lord Jesus and faith in Him is also talked about (Philippians 1:12-18). Moreover, as the committed followers of the Lord Jesus are dispersed here and there because of being persecuted at one place, they spread the Gospel wherever they go, starting a new work in other places as well (Acts 8:4). This persecution also serves another very important function - it exposes false “believers” and filters them out, since they are not willing to suffer for the name of the Lord, and they abandon their “faith”.

        God’s ordinance for participating in the Passover feast, and the Lord Jesus’s commandment to His disciples to partake of His Table, both signify the same thing - God’s people to be obedient to God, be joined together and remain occupied with His work, without getting tarnished by sin and worldliness, willing to suffer persecution from the world, till the Lord delivers His Church and gathers His family to be with Him for eternity. Once again this, as we have seen earlier, shows that participating in the Holy Communion is not a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, nor is it meant to make the participants the people of God and worthy of going to heaven. But it is for those who willingly have chosen to be committed disciples of the Lord, to live in obedience to His Word, and are even willing to pay a price for doing so.

        If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

 If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude.        प्रभु भोज के बारे में उसके पुराने नियम के प्ररूप, निर्गमन 12 में दिए गए फसह के द्वारा अध्ययन करते हुए, हम हमारे पहले दो खण्डों को देख चुके हैं। पहले खण्ड निर्गमन 12:1-14 में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने फसह अपने लोगों, इस्राएलियों, के लिए उनके दासत्व के घर - मिस्र से छुड़ाए जाने की घटना होने के लिए निर्धारित किया था, और यह भी कि उस घटना को कैसे मनाया जाना था; और अंत में पद 14 में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने उस एक बार घटित घटना को एक यादगार वार्षिक पर्व निर्धारित कर दिया, जिसे जब तक इस्राएल का अस्तित्व है, तब तक मनाया जाना था। फिर दूसरे खण्ड, निर्गमन 12:15-20 में हमने देखा था कि इस पर्व को किस प्रकार मनाया जाना है, बिना किसी भी खमीर के, और ठीक उसी रीति से जैसा परमेश्वर ने निर्धारित किया है। हमने इन दोनों खण्डों से सीखा है कि प्रभु की मेज़ में, जिसे प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह मनाते हुए फसह की सामग्री से स्थापित किया था, भाग लेने का अर्थ और महत्व क्या है। अब हम निर्गमन 12 के अपने तीसरे और अंतिम खण्ड, निर्गमन 12:40-49 “फसह के भोज में भाग लेने वाले” पर आते हैं, और देखेंगे कि यह किस प्रकार से प्रभु भोज के साथ संबंधित है।

       इस तीसरे खण्ड के आरंभ, पद 40-41 में, बताया गया है कि परमेश्वर के लोग मिस्र के दासत्व में एक निर्धारित समय तक रहे थे, और परमेश्वर द्वारा उनके छुटकारे के लिए निर्धारित दिन को ही छुटकारा मिल गया, ठीक उसी दिन (निर्गमन 12:40-41)। इस समय अवधि की गणना और उसका आँकलन आदि बाइबल के ज्ञाताओं और व्याख्या कर्ताओं ने किया है, किन्तु यह अभी हमारे अध्ययन का विषय नहीं है। लेकिन यहाँ हमारे ध्यान देने के लिए जो महत्वपूर्ण बात है, वह यह है कि परमेश्वर अपने कार्य अपनी ही समय-सारणी के अनुसार करता है, और जो भी परमेश्वर ने निर्धारित किया है, कोई भी उसे बदल नहीं सकता है। उसने जो कुछ भी तय किया है, उसमें एक उद्देश्य है। यदि परमेश्वर ने इस्राएलियों को एक साथ मिस्र में एकत्रित कर के न रखा होता, तो फिर, जैसा कि अब्राहम की इसहाक के अतिरिक्त की अन्य संतानों; और इसहाक के बड़े बेटे, एसाव, के साथ हुआ - जैसे-जैसे वे बड़े हुए, वे अलग होकर विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में जाकर परिवारों और कबीलों के रूप में बस गए, वही याकूब की सन्तानों के इन बारह गोत्रों के साथ भी होता। किन्तु इसहाक और याकूब में होकर अब्राहम की संतान, मिस्र में एक साथ बनी रही, और उन सब पर आने वाली समान ताड़नाओं और कठिनाइयों के कारण वे बारह गोत्र होते हुए भी, आपस में गुथ और जुड़ कर एक राष्ट्र बन गए, न कि विभिन्न इलाकों में फैले हुए अलग-अलग परिवार और कबीले। निर्गमन 1:7-12 में लिखा हुआ है कि मिस्र में रहते हुए भी इस्राएली बढ़ते, फलते-फूलते रहे, सामर्थी होते गए, यहाँ तक कि संख्या और सामर्थ्य में मिस्रियों से भी अधिक हो गए। जितना अधिक मिस्री उन्हें सताते थे, उतना अधिक इस्राएली बढ़ते जाते थे। इन इस्राएलियों को, जो अब आपस में बंध और जुड़ कर बारह गोत्रों की पहचान रखते हुए भी एक अविभाज्य राष्ट्र बन चुके थे, परमेश्वर ने फसह के द्वारा, उन सभी को एक साथ मिस्र में से निकाल, और उन सभी से एक ही रीति से परमेश्वर के द्वारा परमेश्वर के लोग के रूप में छुड़ाए जाने को स्मरण करने के लिए कहा। जब कभी भी राष्ट्र के रूप में इस्राएल इस छुटकारे के पर्व को मनाता है, साथ ही वे यह भी स्मरण रखते हैं कि न तो कोई व्यक्ति विशेष, और न ही कोई परिवार अथवा गोत्र, कोई भी किसी अन्य से अधिक महत्व दिए जाकर अलग से नहीं छुड़ाया गया। उन सभी को परमेश्वर ने एक साथ, एक ही विधि से, एक ही समय पर, एक ही आज्ञा के पालन के द्वारा छुड़ाया।

        इसी प्रकार से जब भी नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी, अर्थात, प्रभु यीशु के प्रतिबद्ध और समर्पित शिष्य प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते हैं, उन्हें यह प्रभु यीशु की याद में करना है (लूका 22:19; 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:24-25)। प्रभु को अपना मुक्तिदाता ग्रहण करने से पहले वे चाहे कोई भी, कुछ भी रहे हों, लेकिन अब, प्रभु में लाए गए विश्वास के द्वारा, सभी के उद्धार के उसी एकमात्र उपाय - पापों का अंगीकार, पश्चाताप, और प्रभु यीशु को जीवन समर्पित कर देने करने के कारण, वे सभी अब एक लोग हैं, परमेश्वर के एक ही परिवार के अंग हैं (इफिसियों 2:19-20), वे अब प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:17), उनके मध्य के हर प्रकार के समस्त मतभेदों को परमेश्वर ने हटा कर उन्हें एक कर दिया है (प्रेरितों 10:34-35; रोमियों 10:12; 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:13; गलातियों 5:6; कुलुस्सियों 3:11)।

       अगले लेख में यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे और परमेश्वर के उद्देश्यों के, तथा हमारे एक होकर रहने की अनिवार्यता के बारे में  और देखेंगे, तथा सीखेंगे कि किस प्रकार से प्रभु भोज हमें यह सिखाता है।

The Passover & The Lord’s Table - For Those United & Delivered as One (1)

 

       In the previous two sections of our study on the Holy Communion through its Old Testament antecedent, the Passover, in the first section, Exodus 12:1-14, we have seen about God ordaining the Passover for His people, the Israelites, for their deliverance from Egypt - the house of bondage, and how that one-time event was to be fulfilled; and finally in verse 14 God made that one-time event into an annual feast to be celebrated as a memorial till Israel existed. Then in the second section, Exodus 12:15-20 we saw how this annual memorial feast was to be celebrated, without any leaven, exactly in the manner God had ordained. From both these sections we have learnt about the meaning, importance, and participation in the Lord’s Table, which was established by the Lord while observing the Passover, using the elements of the Passover. Now we come to our final, third section about the Passover from Exodus 12, as it relates to the Holy Communion; Exodus 12:40-49 “The Partakers of the Passover meal.”

        This third section begins with a mention of the period of bondage of God’s people under Egypt in verses 40-41; and that God’s chosen people, the Israelites, were delivered the very same day, as had been ordained by God (Exodus 12:40-41). The calculation and computation of this time period has been done and explained by various Bible scholars and commentators, and is not the subject of our study. But what is important for us to note is that God does things according to His time-table, and nothing can change or obstruct what He has determined. He has a purpose in everything He has determined. If God had not put the Israelites all together in Egypt, then, as happened with the other children of Abraham, besides Isaac; and with Isaac’s elder son Esau; as these 12 tribes from the sons of Jacob grew, they would have moved out into the surrounding regions and settled individually at different places, as separate clans and tribes. But the sons of Abraham through Isaac, and Jacob, remained together, in Egypt, and collectively became knit together through their common afflictions to become one nation of twelve tribes, instead of dispersing in the area as separate clans and tribes. It says in Exodus 1:7-12, that while in Egypt, the Israelites were fruitful, grew abundantly, multiplied and became mighty, even more and mightier than the Egyptians. The more the Egyptians afflicted them, the more the Israelites multiplied and grew. It was these Israelites, who had now bonded together and become one indivisible nation, though maintaining their tribal identities, that God, through the Passover, collectively delivered as one people from Egypt, and asked them all to remember and celebrate in one manner, their deliverance as one people of God. Whenever the nation of Israel was to celebrate the memorial of deliverance, their annual seven-day Passover feast, they would all remember that not individual families of particular tribes, not one in preference to the other for any reason, but all of them together, as one people were delivered by God, by the same method, and everyone had to obey and fulfill the same requirement from God, in the same manner to be delivered.

        Similarly, whenever the Born-Again Christian Believers, the committed and surrendered disciples of the Lord Jesus, partake in the Lord’s Table, they have to do this in remembrance of the Lord Jesus (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25). No matter who or what they had been before accepting the Lord Jesus as their Savior and submitting to Him, but now, through their faith in the Lord, through the one and the same manner of salvation - confession and repentance of sins, and submission to the Lord Jesus, they are all one people, members of one family of God (Ephesians 2:19-20), they are a new creation in the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:17), their all kinds of individual differences have all been set aside by God (Acts 10:34-35; Romans 10:12; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 5:6; Colossians 3:11).

        In the next article we will consider further about God's purposes, and the necessity of our obedience to being united as one; and how the Holy Communion teaches this to us.

 If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
