पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा मसीही विश्वासियों को दिए गए वरदान, परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित उनकी सेवकाई के अनुसार हैं; और कोई भी वरदान अथवा सेवकाई किसी अन्य से बड़ी या छोटी, अथवा कम या अधिक महत्व की नहीं है। परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सभी सेवाकाइयाँ समान स्तर एवं महत्व की हैं, और साथ ही उनसे संबंधित पवित्र आत्मा के वरदान भी समान स्तर एवं महत्व के हैं। सेवकाइयों और वरदानों में अन्तर करना, कलीसिया में स्तर के आधार पर विभाजन लाने का कारण बन जाता है, जो बाइबल के बाहर की शिक्षा का परिणाम होता है।
एक और तथा बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात जो इस अध्याय के 7 पद में, आत्मिक वरदानों के उल्लेख से भी पहले कही गई है, किन्तु जिस पर अधिकांशतः लोग ध्यान नहीं देते हैं, वह है, “किन्तु सब के लाभ पहुंचाने के लिये हर एक को आत्मा का प्रकाश दिया जाता है” (1 कुरिन्थियों 12:7)। परमेश्वर की कार्यविधि है कि हमारा परमेश्वर पिता हमेशा सभी की भलाई के लिए ही कार्य करता है, और जो आशीषें वह देता है, वह किसी व्यक्ति के अपने निज लाभ और प्रयोग के लिए ही नहीं होती हैं, वरन, उस व्यक्ति में होकर सभी के लाभ और उन्नति के लिए होती हैं। यही बात यहाँ इस 7 पद में कही गई है। पवित्र आत्मा स्वयं इस बात को पहले ही लिखवा दे रहा है कि हर एक को, जो भी आत्मिक वरदान पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से दिया गया है, वह किसी के भी व्यक्तिगत लाभ के लिए नहीं, वरन सभी के लाभ के लिए है। इसकी पुष्टि एक बार फिर से 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:12 “इसलिये तुम भी जब आत्मिक वरदानों की धुन में हो, तो ऐसा प्रयत्न करो, कि तुम्हारे वरदानों की उन्नति से कलीसिया की उन्नति हो” में हो जाती है। यद्यपि यह बात अन्य-भाषा बोलने के संदर्भ में कही गई है, किन्तु फिर भी यहाँ पर यह बलपूर्वक दोहराया गया है कि सभी के आत्मिक वरदानों के द्वारा कलीसिया ही की उन्नति होनी चाहिए; और 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:2-5 पद तथा इस अध्याय के अन्य पद भी यह स्पष्ट कर देते हैं कि अन्य भाषा बोलना भी कलीसिया की उन्नति के लिए ही है, किसी भी व्यक्ति के अपने निज प्रयोग अथवा लाभ के लिए नहीं।
यद्यपि यह हमारे वर्तमान विषय से बाहर की चर्चा है, किन्तु इस संदर्भ में यह कहना बहुत आवश्यक है कि बाइबल में जिसे “अन्य भाषा” कहा गया है वह पृथ्वी की ही, और जानी पहचानी भाषाएं हैं, जिनके नाम हैं, जो विभिन्न भौगोलिक क्षेत्रों में मनुष्यों द्वारा बोली जाती हैं, और जिनके अनुवाद किसी अन्य क्षेत्र की भाषा में किए जा सकते हैं। पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से गलत शिक्षाएं फैलाने वालों की इस गलत शिक्षा का, कि अन्य भाषाएं अलौकिक, पृथ्वी के बाहर की भाषा है, बाइबल में कोई समर्थन नहीं है। 1 कुरिन्थियों 14 अध्याय ही ध्यान से और प्रार्थना पूर्वक पढ़ लीजिए, वास्तविकता स्वतः ही प्रकट हो जाएगी।
आत्मिक वरदानों से संबंधित तीसरी महत्वपूर्ण बात हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:11 पद में देखते हैं - हर एक आत्मिक वरदान, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा प्रदान करता है, और अपनी इच्छा यानि उस व्यक्ति की निर्धारित सेवकाई के अनुसार प्रदान करता है। किसे कौन सा आत्मिक वरदान दिया जाना है, यह व्यक्ति की लालसा या उसके कहे अथवा मांगे जाने के अनुसार नहीं है। सभी को उसे ही उचित एवं उपयुक्त रीति से प्रयोग करना है, जो परमेश्वर ने उसे दिया है, उसके लिए रखा है। हम ऊपर देख चुके हैं कि “बड़े से बड़े वरदानों की धुन में रहो” (पद 31) का अर्थ मण्डली में अधिक से अधिक ज़िम्मेदारी निभाने की धुन रखने के लिए है, अपने वरदान के स्थान पर कोई अन्य वरदान प्राप्त करने के लिए नहीं है। वैसे भी, यद्यपि यहाँ पर लिखा है कि “धुन में रहो”, किन्तु न तो यहाँ पर और न ही कहीं और इस बात का कोई आश्वासन दिया गया है कि परमेश्वर प्रत्येक जन की हर लालसा या धुन को पूरा करने के लिए बाध्य है। साथ ही बाइबल यह भी दिखाती है कि परमेश्वर ने जिसके लिए जो ज़िम्मेदारी निर्धारित की है, उसे वो व्यक्ति ही निभाएगा है, कोई अन्य नहीं। परमेश्वर अपने निर्णय और बातें किसी के कहे के अनुसार बदलता नहीं है। उसके निर्णय अनन्तकाल के परिप्रेक्ष्य में लिए गए निर्णय हैं, अल्प-कालीन या मनुष्य की सोच और इच्छा के अनुसार लिए गए नहीं। मसीही विश्वासी की आशीष उसके द्वारा परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में है, न कि परमेश्वर को अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार कार्य करने के लिए बाध्य करने के प्रयासों में।
प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को अपने मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई में पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित गलत शिक्षाओं से बच कर रहने के लिए इन उपरोक्त बातों का ध्यान रखना बहुत आवश्यक है। न तो कोई सेवकाई और न कोई आत्मिक वरदान परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में बड़ा अथवा छोटा है। हर वरदान परमेश्वर की ओर से, सभी की भलाई के लिए दिया गया है, किसी के व्यक्तिगत उपयोग के लिए नहीं। इस संदर्भ में अन्य भाषा बोलना भी कलीसिया की भलाई और उपयोग के लिए ही है, जैसा 1 कुरिन्थियों 14 अध्याय के अध्ययन से स्पष्ट है। पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से किसी को ऐसा कोई विशेष अनुग्रह या सामर्थ्य कदापि नहीं दी गई है जिसके द्वारा लोगों पर प्रभाव जमाने, अपने आप को विशेष दिखाने के लिए कोई व्यक्ति मुँह से विचित्र ध्वनियाँ निकालने और विचित्र हाव-भाव दिखाने पाए। और किसे क्या देना है, हर आत्मिक वरदान परमेश्वर ही निर्धारित करता है, यह मनुष्य की इच्छा के अनुसार निर्धारित नहीं होता है। किसी को भी 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:31 की गलत व्याख्या के आधार पर वचन की इन सच्चाइयों को बदलने का प्रयास नहीं करना चाहिए।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।
We had seen in the last article that the gifts given by God the Holy Spirit to the Christian Believers, are in accordance with their God assigned ministry; no ministry or gift is greater or lesser than another, nor of greater or lesser importance than another. In God’s eyes all ministries are of equal status and importance, and the gifts related to them are also of same status and importance. To create a difference in the ministries and gifts, creates a cause for bringing divisions in the Church on this basis, which is always a result of unBiblical teachings.
There is another and very important thing that has been stated in verse 7 of this chapter, even prior to mentioning the spiritual gifts, but over which most people do not usually pay any attention. This is, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1 Corinthians 12:7). The way our Father God works is for the benefit of everyone, and the blessings He gives are not for any person’s personal use and benefit, but for the benefit and growth of everyone through that person. This same thing is stated here in verse 7. The Holy Spirit is getting it written beforehand that whatever spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit, they are not for any one individual’s use or benefit, but for the benefit and growth of everyone in the Church. This is then repeated and re-affirmed in 1 Corinthians 14:12 “Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.” Although this statement has been made in context of speaking in ‘tongues’ i.e., other languages, yet it is emphatically repeated here that the Church should benefit and grow through the use of spiritual gifts. Also, 1 Corinthians 12:2-5 make it clear that speaking in ‘tongues’, i.e., other earthly languages should be for the benefit of the Church; it is not meant for anyone’s personal use or benefit.
Although it is not a part of our current discussion, but in context of what is being said here, it is very important to say and understand that what the Bible mentions as ‘tongues’, are known, spoken, and understood languages of this world; languages that have their own names and are spoken by people living in various geographical areas of this world, and which can be translated from one to another. Those who preach, teach and spread wrong doctrines and false teachings in the name of, and about the Holy Spirit say and teach that these are extra-terrestrial languages, but there is no support for this from the Bible. Read carefully and prayerfully 1 Corinthians 14 chapter, and the truth about this will readily become apparent.
The third important thing about spiritual gifts we see in 1 Corinthians12:11 - that every spiritual gift is given by the Holy Spirit, and it is He who determines the gift to be given; which is in accordance with the person’s ministry. Which spiritual gift is to be given to whom is not according to the desire, demand, or asking of the person. Whatever God has decided and provided to a person, he has to use that very gift, appropriately and diligently. We have seen above that the meaning of the phrase “But earnestly desire the best gifts” (1 Corinthians 12:31) is to be desirous of doing the best possible in the Church, and not demanding another, or replacing one’s gift with another. In any case, take note that though this verse says to desire, but it does not assure, here or at any other place that God is always obliged to fulfil every desire a person may have. The Bible also shows that the work and ministry God has assigned to a person, it is only for that person to carry out, not anyone else. God does not change His decisions and working on anyone’s say so. He has taken His decisions with eternity in perspective, they are not short-term decisions or taken as by the limited human understanding and desires. The blessings of a Christian Believer are in his obeying God; not in trying to change God according to one’s likes and desires.
For a Christian Believer, it is very necessary to keep the above-mentioned facts in mind to stay safe from the wrong teachings about the Holy Spirit. In God’s eyes, no ministry, no spiritual gift is greater or smaller, nor is it more important or less important than another. Every ministry, and every gift has been given by God, for the benefit and growth of others and of the Church through the recipient of the gift and ministry; they are not for anyone’s personal use and benefit. In this context, as becomes clear from the study of 1 Corinthians 14, the gift of speaking in ‘tongues’, i.e., in other known and named earthly languages, is also for the benefit and growth of the Church. No one should believe and get carried away by the false notion and teaching, that the making of strange unintelligible noises and carrying out odd bodily actions is proof of the power and actions of the Holy Spirit specially bestowed upon that person - there is no Biblical proof or support of this false claim. Every spiritual gift, who is to receive which one, is decided by God; and He does not do it according to any person’s likes and desires. No one should try to alter the truths of God’s Word regarding 1 Corinthians 12:31 on the basis of their wrong out-of-context interpretations of this verse and contrived false teachings.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
