मसीही विश्वासी - प्रभु के लिए बहुतायत से फलवंत होता है

सुसमाचारों में, प्रभु द्वारा बताए गए अपने शिष्यों के गुणों में से चौथा है कि वह अपने प्रभु और उद्धारकर्ता, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के लिए फल लाता है, मेरे पिता की महिमा इसी से होती है, कि तुम बहुत सा फल लाओ, तब ही तुम मेरे चेले ठहरोगे (यूहन्ना 15:8)। यह पद हमें बताता है कि प्रभु के लिए फल लाना न केवल शिष्य का एक गुण है, वरन फल लाने से परमेश्वर पिता की भी महिमा होती है। किसी भी पौधे या वृक्ष के द्वारा फल लाने का एक ही प्रमुख कारण होता है - उस फल से उसके समान और पौधे या वृक्ष उत्पन्न हों; अर्थात उस प्रजाति का विस्तार हो। वह फल भोजन, या औषधि, या अन्य किसी रूप में भी प्रयोग किया जा सकता है; किन्तु यह सब उसके प्राथमिक उपयोग नहीं हैं। प्राकृतिक रीति से पेड़-पौधे फल अपनी जाति के विस्तार के लिए ही उत्पन्न करते हैं; चाहे उनके फल और किसी काम में आएं या न आएं, और किसी के लिए उपयोगी हों अथवा न हों, चाहे वे फल औरों के लिए लाभदायक हों अथवा कष्टदायक या हानिकारक हों। 

यही अभिप्राय प्रभु द्वारा उसके लिए फलवंत होने के साथ भी संलग्न है - प्रभु के शिष्य प्रभु के लिए और शिष्य बनाएं, जो मत्ती 28:18-20 में शिष्यों को दी गई प्रभु की महान आज्ञा के अनुरूप है। हम जितना अधिक सुसमाचार का प्रचार और प्रसार करेंगे, उतना अधिक प्रभु के लिए फलवंत और परमेश्वर की महिमा का कारण होंगे, जो फिर हमारे लिए आशीष का कारण बनेगा। यहाँ एक बात और ध्यान देने के लिए आवश्यक है, प्रभु ने कहा तुम बहुत सा फल लाओ - प्रभु ने यह नहीं कहा कि “तुम आत्मा के फल बहुतायत से लाओ” - जो कि सामान्यतः इस पद के साथ समझ लिया जाता है, जबकि प्रभु ने यह नहीं कहा है। शिष्य को अपने जीवन से अपने समान और शिष्य बनाने हैं; अवश्य ही उसके अच्छे, प्रभावी, और आकर्षक मसीही जीवन के लिए उसमें आत्मा के फल और गुण होना अनिवार्य है। किन्तु प्रभु ने औरों के जीवनों में आत्मा के फल उत्पन्न करने के लिए नहीं कहा; जब कोई व्यक्ति प्रभु का शिष्य बन जाएगा, तो उसमें आकर निवास करने वाला पवित्र आत्मा स्वयं उसमें आत्मा के फल उत्पन्न करेगा। कोई मनुष्य अपने अंदर अथवा किसी और में आत्मा के फल उत्पन्न नहीं कर सकता है; आत्मा के फल तो पवित्र आत्मा ही उत्पन्न और विकसित करता है। प्रभु हम से हमारे फल, हमारे द्वारा उसकी शिष्यता में और शिष्यों को लेकर आने के लिए कह रहा है। 

साथ ही यह भी ध्यान देने योग्य बात है कि प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार, जैसे पेड़ की पहचान उसके फलों से होती है, वैसे ही व्यक्ति की पहचान, या शिष्य की पहचान, उसके जीवन के फलों से होती है (मत्ती 7:16, 20)। प्रभु के लिए शिष्य का फलवंत होना प्रभु के प्रति उसके समर्पण, आज्ञाकारिता, प्रेम, और उपयोगिता की पहचान है। प्रभु परमेश्वर फल लाने को बहुत महत्व देता है; प्रभु यीशु ने लूका 13:6-9 में बताए दृष्टांत के द्वारा शिष्यों को समझाया कि जो वृक्ष परमेश्वर के लिए फलवंत नहीं है, उसे फिर उसके दुष्परिणाम भी भुगतने पड़ेंगे। यही बात पुराने नियम में यशायाह 5:1-7 में यहोवा द्वारा लगाई गई दाख की बारी, अर्थात इस्राएल के संदर्भ में भी कही गई है - जब इस्राएल परमेश्वर के लिए फलवंत नहीं हुआ, अच्छे फल नहीं लाया, तो उसे इसके दुष्परिणाम भुगतने पड़े। 

प्रभु यीशु के सच्चे, वास्तविक शिष्य में अपने उद्धारकर्ता प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी होने, उसके आज्ञाकारी होकर, उसके नाम को महिमा देने की लालसा और प्रवृत्ति होती है। प्रभु ने जो वरदान, गुण, और योग्यताएं उसे दी हैं, वह उनका प्रयोग प्रभु के राज्य के विस्तार और विकास के लिए करता है, और अपने लिए आशीष तथा परमेश्वर के लिए महिमा का कारण बनता है। यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो यह जाँचने की बात है कि आप प्रभु के लिए फलवंत हैं कि नहीं; और यदि फलवंत हैं तो आपके फल की मात्रा और गुणवत्ता क्या है? प्रभु परमेश्वर मुझ से और आप से बहुत सा फल लाने की आशा रखता है। क्या हम उसकी शिष्यता की इस कसौटी पर खरे हैं? क्या हम इस पहचान के द्वारा अपने आप को प्रभु के शिष्य कह और बता सकते हैं?

यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Christian Believer – Fruitful for The Lord

According to the description given in the Gospels, the fourth characteristic of a Born-Again Christian Believer is that he brings fruit for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples (John 15:8). This verse tells us that bearing fruit for the Lord is not only a characteristic of a disciple of the Lord, but it also brings glory to God the Father. The purpose behind any plant or tree bearing fruits is only one - so that from that fruit other similar plants or trees may grow; i.e., that plant or tree’s species may propagate. That fruit can also be used as food, or medicine, or for any other purpose; but none of these things is the primary purpose of bearing fruit. In the natural manner of things, the plants and trees bear fruit for propagation of their species; whether or not their fruits are used for any other purpose, whether or not they are useful for anyone else for anything else, whether those fruits are helpful and beneficial for others or are harmful and problematic for others.

The same holds true for being fruitful for the Lord - the disciples of the Lord Jesus should make more disciples of the Lord Jesus, which is in accordance with the Great Commission given by the Lord to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20. The more we preach and propagate the gospel, the more fruitful for the Lord and cause for glorifying God we will be, which then will be the cause for greater blessings for us. There is one more thing to be noted here; the Lord has said in this verse you bear much fruit; the Lord has not said that you should bear much ‘fruit of the Spirit’ - as is commonly understood and interpreted for this verse; whereas this is not what the Lord has said here. The disciple of the Lord has to make other disciples for the Lord; therefore, it is essential that the Lord’s disciple should have good, effective, and attractive characteristics in his life; and these characteristics will be developed through the presence of the fruits of the Spirit in the disciple’s life. No man can create any of the fruits of the Spirit in his own or someone else’s life; it is only the Holy Spirit of God who creates and develops the fruits of the Spirit. Here the Lord has asked His disciples to bear their fruits for Him, i.e., to bring more disciples into His discipleship.

Another thing to note is that the Lord has also said that just a tree in known by its fruits, similarly, a person or disciple is known by the fruit he brings for the Lord (Matthew 7:16, 20). A disciple’s being fruitful for the Lord is an indicator of his being committed, surrendered, obedient to the Lord, of loving the Lord and striving to be useful for Him. The Lord God places great emphasis on bearing fruit; the Lord Jesus in the parable in Luke 13:6-9 taught to the disciples that the tree that is not fruitful for the Lord will also have to bear the consequences. The same thing was stated by God in the Old Testament, in Isaiah 5:1-7, about the vineyard of God, i.e., Israel - when Israel was not fruitful for God, did not bring good fruits, then it had to bear the consequences.

The true, actual disciple of the Lord Jesus should have the tendency and desire to be useful for his Lord, be obedient to Him, glorify Him. The gifts, characteristics, abilities etc. that the Lord has given to him, he should be using them for the expansion of the Lord’s kingdom; and in doing so he is blessed himself, and brings glory to God. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is for you to examine and see whether you are fruitful for the Lord or not. If you are fruitful, then what is the quality and quantity of the fruit you bear? The Lord expects that His disciples bear much fruit for Him; are you satisfying the Lord on this? On this criterion, can you actually call yourself to be a disciple of the Lord?

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

मसीही शिष्यता - प्रभु के साथ घनिष्ठ संबंध

पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि मसीही विश्वासी का जीवन प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी होने और प्रभु के लिए कार्यरत रहने में सक्रिय जीवन होता है। प्रभु का अपने सभी अनुयायियों के लिए कुछ-न-कुछ प्रयोजन है। प्रभु द्वारा प्रत्येक के लिए निर्धारित किए गए इन प्रयोजन तथा किसी के लिए निर्धारित अन्य किसी विशिष्ट प्रयोजन के अनुसार, उन्हें सक्षम करने और उस कार्य में सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने सभी मसीही विश्वासियों को उचित आत्मिक वरदान भी प्रदान किए हैं, जिनके बारे में विवरण रोमियों 12 अध्याय, और 1 कुरिन्थियों 12 अध्याय में से पढ़ा जा सकता है। मरकुस 3:13-15 में हमने देखा कि प्रभु यीशु ने जब शिष्यों में से बारह प्रेरितों को चुना तो उनके लिए उसने तीन प्रयोजन निर्धारित किए। यही तीनों प्रयोजन सामान्यतः सभी मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए भी हैं; अर्थात प्रभु द्वारा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए निर्धारित किए गए किसी विशिष्ट कार्य का आधार यही तीन प्रयोजन हैं, और वह विशिष्ट कार्य इन्हीं तीनों के निर्वाह के द्वारा ही सफल और प्रभु को महिमा देने वाला होता है।

पिछले दो लेखों में हमने इन तीन में से पहले प्रयोजन - प्रभु के साथ-साथ रहने के बारे में देखना आरंभ किया है। निरंतर प्रभु के साथ बने रहना, और हर बात में, तथा हर बात के लिए प्रभु की इच्छा को जानकर कार्य करना ही मसीही विश्वासी की सही सेवकाई का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण आधार है। जो प्रभु के साथ रहेगा, वही प्रभु के साथ घनिष्ठ संबंध में भी रहेगा; और जो प्रभु के साथ घनिष्ठ होगा उस पर ही प्रभु अपनी इच्छा प्रकट करेगा, और उसी का मार्गदर्शन करेगा। इससे वह जन यह भी पहचानने पाएगा कि उसकी अपनी तथा प्रभु की समझ, सोच-विचार, और बुद्धिमत्ता में कितना अंतर है “क्योंकि यहोवा कहता है, मेरे विचार और तुम्हारे विचार एक समान नहीं है, न तुम्हारी गति और मेरी गति एक सी है। क्योंकि मेरी और तुम्हारी गति में और मेरे और तुम्हारे सोच विचारों में, आकाश और पृथ्वी का अन्तर है” (यशायाह 55:8-9)। इसीलिए प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा, “तुम मुझ में बने रहो, और मैं तुम में: जैसे डाली यदि दाखलता में बनी न रहे, तो अपने आप से नहीं फल सकती, वैसे ही तुम भी यदि मुझ में बने न रहो तो नहीं फल सकते। मैं दाखलता हूं: तुम डालियां हो; जो मुझ में बना रहता है, और मैं उस में, वह बहुत फल फलता है, क्योंकि मुझ से अलग हो कर तुम कुछ भी नहीं कर सकते। यदि कोई मुझ में बना न रहे, तो वह डाली के समान फेंक दिया जाता, और सूख जाता है; और लोग उन्हें बटोरकर आग में झोंक देते हैं, और वे जल जाती हैं। यदि तुम मुझ में बने रहो, और मेरी बातें तुम में बनी रहें तो जो चाहो मांगो और वह तुम्हारे लिये हो जाएगा। मेरे पिता की महिमा इसी से होती है, कि तुम बहुत सा फल लाओ, तब ही तुम मेरे चेले ठहरोगे” (यूहन्ना 15:4-8)। यहाँ पर प्रभु द्वारा कही गई बात के प्रवाह और परिणाम पर ध्यान कीजिए। सच्चा शिष्य प्रभु में बना रहेगा, और उससे सामर्थ्य पाकर प्रभु के लिए फलवंत होगा, जो परमेश्वर की महिमा का कारण ठहरेगा, और उसके सच्चे शिष्य होने का प्रमाण भी। किन्तु जो प्रभु में बना नहीं रहता है, वह प्रभु के लिए फलवंत भी नहीं होता है, सूख जाता है, जो उसके प्रभु का सच्चा शिष्य नहीं होने का प्रमाण है, और उसे अलग हटाकर नाश कर दिया जाता है।

यूहन्ना से लिए गए उपरोक्त उदाहरण में एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात निहित है - जो प्रभु में बना रहेगा, वह स्वतः ही प्रभु द्वारा पोषित और विकसित भी होता रहेगा। कोई भी पौधा हर समय फल नहीं लाता है, किन्तु जो जीवन के जल से संबंध में रहेगा, वह कभी भी सूखेगा नहीं वरन अपने समय और अपनी ऋतु में फल भी लाएगा “वह उस वृक्ष के समान है, जो बहती नालियों के किनारे लगाया गया है। और अपनी ऋतु में फलता है, और जिसके पत्ते कभी मुरझाते नहीं। इसलिये जो कुछ वह पुरुष करे वह सफल होता है” (भजन 1:3)। जो प्रभु में स्थापित रहता है, प्रभु के कहे के अनुसार करता है, प्रभु ही उसके कार्यों को सफल और फलवंत करता है “मैं ने लगाया, अपुल्लोस ने सींचा, परन्तु परमेश्वर ने बढ़ाया। इसलिये न तो लगाने वाला कुछ है, और न सींचने वाला, परन्तु परमेश्वर जो बढ़ाने वाला है” (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:6-7)। राजा सुलैमान ने कहा, “क्योंकि बुद्धि यहोवा ही देता है; ज्ञान और समझ की बातें उसी के मुंह से निकलती हैं” (नीतिवचन 2:6)। जब अपनी अक्षमता तथा प्रभु की सामर्थ्य और सक्षमता को ध्यान में रखते हुए मसीही विश्वासी प्रभु से अपने दायित्व के निर्वाह के लिए उपयुक्त बुद्धि एवं सामर्थ्य माँगता है, तो वह प्राप्त भी करता है। किन्तु जो प्रभु के निकट नहीं है, वह प्रभु और उसकी बातों और योजनाओं पर संदेह करेगा, प्रभु की कही गई बातों और दिए गए निर्देशों में अपने मन और समझ की बात मिलाना चाहेगा, और इसलिए प्रभु से कुछ प्राप्त नहीं कर सकेगा, जैसा कि याकूब ने लिखा है, “पर यदि तुम में से किसी को बुद्धि की घटी हो, तो परमेश्वर से मांगे, जो बिना उलाहना दिए सब को उदारता से देता है; और उसको दी जाएगी। पर विश्वास से मांगे, और कुछ सन्‍देह न करे; क्योंकि सन्‍देह करने वाला समुद्र की लहर के समान है जो हवा से बहती और उछलती है। ऐसा मनुष्य यह न समझे, कि मुझे प्रभु से कुछ मिलेगा। वह व्यक्ति दुचित्ता है, और अपनी सारी बातों में चंचल है” (याकूब 1:5-8)।

प्रभु के साथ यह घनिष्ठ संबंध प्रभु के वचन से प्रेम करने और उसके वचन में बने रहने से बनता है। प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों से कहा कि यदि वे उसके वचन में बने रहेंगे, तो यही प्रभु के प्रति उनके प्रेम का प्रमाण होगा, और उससे वास्तविक प्रेम करने वाले के पास प्रभु और पिता परमेश्वर आएंगे, और उसके साथ रहेंगे “जिस के पास मेरी आज्ञा है, और वह उन्हें मानता है, वही मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, और जो मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, उस से मेरा पिता प्रेम रखेगा, और मैं उस से प्रेम रखूंगा, और अपने आप को उस पर प्रगट करूंगा। यीशु ने उसको उत्तर दिया, यदि कोई मुझ से प्रेम रखे, तो वह मेरे वचन को मानेगा, और मेरा पिता उस से प्रेम रखेगा, और हम उसके पास आएंगे, और उसके साथ वास करेंगे” (यूहन्ना 14:21, 23)। इसलिए यदि आप अपना जीवन प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम में तो जी रहे हैं, किन्तु उसके साथ निरंतर एवं घनिष्ठ संबंध में स्थापित नहीं हैं, अर्थात प्रभु के वचन और आज्ञाकारिता में अविरल रीति से बने हुए नहीं हैं; वरन, परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ नहीं बल्कि संसार, साँसारिकता की बातों, तौर-तरीकों, मनोरंजनों आदि में, अथवा अपनी अथवा अन्य मनुष्यों और मनुष्यों द्वारा बनाए गए मतों की ही सामर्थ्य, समझ, और शिक्षाओं अथवा युक्ति तथा योग्यता, के अनुसार जीते रहने का प्रयास करते रहें हैं, तो फिर आपको अपने जीवन में एक आमूल-चूल, एक मौलिक परिवर्तन करने की तात्कालिक आवश्यकता है। 

इसलिए यदि आप अभी तक अपना जीवन प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम में, किन्तु अपनी ही, अथवा अन्य मनुष्यों की ही सामर्थ्य, समझ, और शिक्षाओं अथवा युक्ति तथा योग्यता, के अनुसार जीते रहने का प्रयास करते रहें हैं, तो फिर आपको अपने जीवन में एक आमूल-चूल, एक मौलिक परिवर्तन करने की तात्कालिक आवश्यकता है। यदि आप अभी भी एक परिवार विशेष में जन्म लेने के कारण, और बचपन से ही अपने धर्म और डिनॉमिनेशन की रीतियों और परम्पराओं का पालन करने के कारण अपने आप को मसीही समझ रहे हैं, तो आपको भी बाइबल के तथ्यों के प्रति अपनी गलतफहमियों से बाहर निकलने और परमेश्वर का वचन जो कहता है उसे जानने, समझने, और पालन करने की आवश्यकता है, न कि उसका निर्वाह करने की जो आपका मत या डिनॉमिनेशन कहता और सिखाता है। समय तथा अवसर के रहते आज ही, अभी ही, इस व्यर्थ एवं निष्फल धारणा एवं मान्यता से निकलकर प्रभु यीशु मसीह की वास्तविक शिष्यता में आ जाएं, और हर समय हर बात के लिए उसके साथ उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में बने रहने को निभाना आरंभ कर लें। कहीं ऐसा न हो कि जब परलोक में आँख खुले तब पता लगे कि आप अपनी ही जिन धारणाओं और मान्यताओं का सारे जीवन बड़ी निष्ठा से निर्वाह करते रहे उससे आपको कोई लाभ नहीं हुआ है, और अब उस गलती को सुधारने का कोई अवसर पास नहीं है; अब तो केवल अनन्तकाल का दण्ड ही मिलेगा। यदि आप अभी भी संसार के साथ और संसार के समान जी रहे हैं, या परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने के लिए धर्म-कर्म-रस्म के निर्वाह की मानसिकता में भरोसा रखे हुए हैं, तो आज और अभी आपके पास अपनी अनन्तकाल की स्थिति को सुधारने का अवसर है। 

यदि आपने अभी तक नया-जन्म, उद्धार नहीं प्राप्त किया है, प्रभु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो आपके पास या करने के लिए अभी समय औ अवसर है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Christian Discipleship – Close Fellowship With the Lord

We have seen in the previous articles that the life of a Christian Believer is a life of being useful for the Lord and actively involved in the Lord’s work. The Lord has a purpose for each and every one of His followers. According to the purpose determined by the Lord for a Believer, or for some special purpose given to a Believer, the Lord also gives the required gifts of the Holy Spirit; the description about this can be read from Romans chapter 12 and 1 Corinthians chapter 12. From Mark 3:13-15 we had seen that when the Lord Jesus chose the twelve apostles from amongst His followers, He had three purposes for them. These three purposes are generally applicable to every Christian Believer as well. In other words, these three purposes form the basis of any special activity the Lord determines for a Christian Believer, and that special activity becomes successful and glorifies the Lord, only when done in accordance with these three purposes.

In the previous two articles we had begun to see about the first of these three purposes, i.e., being with the Lord. To be always with the Lord, in everything and for everything, to know the will of the Lord, and only then do it is the most important factor of a successful Christian ministry. The one who remains with the Lord, will also be in a close fellowship with the Lord; and the Lord will reveal His will and provide guidance to the person who is close with Him. Through this, that person will also get to learn of the difference in the Lord’s and his own understanding, thoughts, and wisdom, “"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9). It is because of this that the Lord Jesus has instructed His disciples, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so, you will be My disciples” (John 15:4-8). Pay attention to the flow and effects of what the Lord Jesus has said in this passage. The true disciple will remain with the Lord, will receive power from the Lord to be fruitful, which then will glorify the Lord God, and will be a proof of the person being a true disciple. But the one who does not remain with the Lord, he is not fruitful for the Lord, dries up, which is a proof of his not being the true disciple of the Lord, and he is removed and cast away.

There is a very important thing implied in this example taken from John’s gospel - he who is attached with the Lord, will also automatically be nourished by the Lord and continue to grow. No plant brings fruit all the time, but the plant in contact with the living waters will never wither or dry, but will bring fruits in its time and according to its season of bearing fruit “He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:3). The person who remains in close fellowship with the Lord, does everything according to the guidance of the Lord, the Lord makes his works successful and fruitful “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase” (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). King Solomon said, “For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6). When a Christian Believer, keeping in mind his own inabilities, and the power and abilities of God, asks God for the required understanding, power, and abilities for the fulfillment of his responsibilities, he receives them from the Lord. But the person who is not in close fellowship with the Lord, he will harbor doubts about the Lord and Lord’s plans, will try to mix his own thoughts and wisdom in the Lord’s instructions, and will not be able to receive anything from the Lord, as James has written, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways” (James 1:5-8).

This close relationship with the Lord results from a love for God’s Word and abiding in God’s Word. The Lord has said to His disciples that if they abide in His Word, then this will be the proof of their love for the Lord; and he who truly loves the Lord, the Lord Jesus and God the Father will come to him and be with him “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:21, 23). Therefore, if you are living your life in the name of the Lord Jesus, but are not in a continual close fellowship with Him, i.e., are not in continually abiding in His Word and obedience; but instead of spending time with God's Word are spending time according to the ways and manners of the world and worldliness and methods of entertainment, or, you are trying to live a life according to your own abilities and understanding, or are trusting in the strength, wisdom, and teachings of man-made sects and denominations and are trying to live according to their instructions, then you need to bring about a radical change in your life in favor of trusting in and living by the guidance of the Lord.

Therefore, if so far you have been living your life in the name of the Lord, but doing according to your own will, thoughts, desires, and abilities, or according to the guidance of some other person(s), then it is absolutely necessary that you effect a radical change in your outlook and life. If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian, because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start understanding and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it. Lest when your eyes open in the next world, you come to realize that the religion and its related rituals you so diligently observed throughout your life were vain, had no benefits, and now there is no opportunity left to make amends for your errors; all that you have is suffering the penalty for eternity. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 4 - प्रार्थना (15) 

प्रार्थना करना, व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन का एक अभिन्न अँग है, और हम प्रेरितों 2:42 से देखते हैं कि प्रार्थना करना उन चार बातों में से एक है, आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी जिन का लौलीन होकर पालन किया करते थे। किन्तु आज, जैसे मसीही विश्वास से सम्बन्धित सभी बातों के साथ हुआ है, प्रार्थना के बारे में भी बहुत सी गलत शिक्षाएं और भ्रांतियाँ मसीहियों में घुस आई हैं। ऐसा होने का मुख्य कारण है मसीहियों के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन का व्यक्तिगत अध्ययन करना छोड़ देना। जो वचन पढ़ते भी हैं, वचन के अध्ययन के स्थान पर उनमें से अधिकाँश लोग केवल औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए वचन का थोड़ा सा भाग पढ़ लेते हैं। वचन की शिक्षा के लिए लगभग सभी मसीही, पादरियों, कलीसिया के अगुवों, और प्रचारकों की कही बातों को, बिना वचन से जाँचे हुए, अन्ध-विश्वास के साथ स्वीकार कर लेते हैं। परिणाम स्वरूप, शैतान को हर बात के बारे में बहुत सी गलत शिक्षाओं और मानवीय व्याख्याओं तथा धारणाओं को घुसा देने का खुला द्वार मिल गया है, और वह इसका भरपूरी से उपयोग कर रहा है। इसीलिए, जैसे हमने पिछले लेखों में अन्य विषयों के लिए किया था, हम प्रार्थना के बारे में भी वचन में दी गई बातों से सीख रहे हैं, गलत शिक्षाओं तथा भ्रांतियों को पहचानने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रार्थना क्या है, और क्यों परमेश्वर चाहता है कि उसके लोग उसके साथ निरन्तर प्रार्थना में लगे रहें। हमने यह भी देखा है कि एक आम गलत व्याख्या और प्रचलित शिक्षा के विपरीत, परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में यह प्रतिज्ञा नहीं की है कि वह हर किसी की “विश्वास से” माँगी हुई सभी प्रार्थनाओं सकारात्मक उत्तर देगा। वरन परमेश्वर ने यह स्पष्ट लिखा है कि वह किन लोगों की और कैसी प्रार्थनाओं का सकारात्मक उत्तर देगा। पिछले लेख में हमने इसी से सम्बन्धित एक अन्य गलत व्याख्या और शिक्षा की वास्तविकता को वचन से समझा था कि “यीशु के नाम में” माँगी गई प्रार्थनाओं को परमेश्वर हमेशा ही पूरा करेगा। इन सभी बातों के बारे में विचार करते हुए, हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर अपने वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए और समर्पित, प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, अर्थात, उसके परिवार के सदस्यों की उन प्रार्थनाओं का सकारात्मक उत्तर देता है, जो वे उसके वचन से सुसंगत तथा उसकी इच्छा के अनुसार माँगते हैं। आज इसी बात को और अधिक स्पष्ट करने के लिए हम यूहन्ना 15 अध्याय में इस सम्बन्ध में प्रभु द्वारा कही गई कुछ बातों को देखेंगे, उनपर विचार करेंगे।

 

पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 14 से 16 अध्याय में बारम्बार अपने शिष्यों से कहा है कि उसके नाम में वे जो भी पिता परमेश्वर से माँगेंगे, उसे वह पूरा करेगा। यही बात प्रभु ने यूहन्ना 15 अध्याय में भी कही है, और बहुधा इसे लेकर यह बताया और सिखाया जाता है कि यह सभी के लिए मान्य प्रभु की प्रतिज्ञा है। हम पिछले लेख में “यीशु के नाम में माँगने” पर विचार करते हुए, यह समझ चुके हैं कि प्रभु ने यह प्रतिज्ञा केवल अपने आज्ञाकारी, समर्पित, और प्रतिबद्ध शिष्यों को ही दी थी। और जिस समय प्रभु ने यह कहा था, तब तक यहूदा इस्करियोती उन्हें छोड़ कर जा चुका था। तात्पर्य यह कि प्रभु की यह प्रतिज्ञा अपने आप को प्रभु का शिष्य कहने वाले हर किसी जन के लिए नहीं थी, केवल वास्तविक और सच्चे शिष्यों के लिए थी। यूहन्ना 15 अध्याय से इसके बारे में देखने से हमारे सामने इस प्रतिज्ञा के विषय कुछ और महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य भी सामने आते हैं। साथ ही यह भी स्पष्ट हो जाता है कि प्रभु की यह प्रतिज्ञा “सशर्त” थी, उन सच्चे, समर्पित, प्रतिबद्ध शिष्यों के लिए भी; यह कभी भी, कैसे भी उपयोग करने के लिए नहीं थी। चलिए, यूहन्ना 15 अध्याय में इस प्रतिज्ञा से सम्बन्धित पदों को देखते हैं। 

• यूहन्ना 15:4-5 “तुम मुझ में बने रहो, और मैं तुम में: जैसे डाली यदि दाखलता में बनी न रहे, तो अपने आप से नहीं फल सकती, वैसे ही तुम भी यदि मुझ में बने न रहो तो नहीं फल सकते। मैं दाखलता हूं: तुम डालियां हो; जो मुझ में बना रहता है, और मैं उस में, वह बहुत फल फलता है, क्योंकि मुझ से अलग हो कर तुम कुछ भी नहीं कर सकते।” प्रभु की सामर्थ्य से कुछ करने, “फल लाने” के लिए पहली शर्त है, प्रभु के सच्चे शिष्यों का भी हमेशा प्रभु के साथ बने रहना, उससे जुड़े रहना। अर्थात प्रार्थना में, वचन में, आज्ञाकारिता में (1 यूहन्ना 2:3-6) हमेशा प्रभु के साथ जुड़े रहना। यदा-कदा, केवल सुविधा और आवश्यकतानुसार ही प्रभु से जुड़ने वाले शिष्य प्रभु के लिए फलवन्त नहीं हो सकते हैं। 

• यूहन्ना 15:7 “यदि तुम मुझ में बने रहो, और मेरी बातें तुम में बनी रहें तो जो चाहो मांगो और वह तुम्हारे लिये हो जाएगा।” उपरोक्त शर्त की पुष्टि इस पद की शर्त से हो जाती है। प्रभु ने अपने उन सच्चे, समर्पित, और प्रतिबद्ध शिष्यों से यहाँ पर स्पष्ट कहा है कि यदि वे प्रभु में बने रहेंगे, और प्रभु की बातें उनमें बनी रहेंगी, तब ही उनकी प्रार्थना में माँगी गई बातें पूरी होंगी।

• यूहन्ना 15:10 “यदि तुम मेरी आज्ञाओं को मानोगे, तो मेरे प्रेम में बने रहोगे: जैसा कि मैं ने अपने पिता की आज्ञाओं को माना है, और उसके प्रेम में बना रहता हूं।” प्रभु के ये वास्तविक शिष्य प्रभु के प्रेम में तब ही बने रह सकते हैं, जब वे प्रभु के आज्ञाकारी रहें। अर्थात, जब प्रभु के आज्ञाकारी रहेंगे, तो प्रभु से जुड़े रहेंगे, और जब जुड़े रहेंगे, तो परमेश्वर उनकी प्रार्थनाओं को सुनेगा और पूरा भी करेगा।

• यूहन्ना 15:16 “तुम ने मुझे नहीं चुना परन्तु मैं ने तुम्हें चुना है और तुम्हें ठहराया ताकि तुम जा कर फल लाओ; और तुम्हारा फल बना रहे, कि तुम मेरे नाम से जो कुछ पिता से मांगो, वह तुम्हें दे।” प्रभु से, और प्रभु के नाम में पिता से माँगने का अधिकार उन्हीं का है जो प्रभु द्वारा चुने और ठहराए हुए हैं, जो प्रभु के लिए फलवन्त होते हैं। और जैसा ऊपर देखा है, यह फलवन्त होना, वास्तविक शिष्यों के प्रभु के आज्ञाकारी होने पर निर्भर है।

• यूहन्ना 15:19 “यदि तुम संसार के होते, तो संसार अपनों से प्रीति रखता, परन्तु इस कारण कि तुम संसार के नहीं, वरन मैं ने तुम्हें संसार में से चुन लिया है इसी लिये संसार तुम से बैर रखता है।” जो प्रभु के चुने हुए हैं, वे प्रभु द्वारा संसार से अलग भी किए गए हैं। जिसकी पहचान है कि संसार और संसार के लोग, जैसे प्रभु से, वैसे ही उनसे भी बैर रखते हैं। तात्पर्य स्पष्ट है, जिनमें संसार और सांसारिकता की बातें हैं, जो संसार से और संसार जिन से प्रेम करता है, वे प्रभु के जन नहीं हैं (1 यूहन्ना 2:15-17)। इसलिए “यीशु के नाम में माँगने” का आश्वासन उन लोगों के लिए नहीं है।

अर्थात, यूहन्ना 15 अध्याय में प्रभु यीशु द्वारा अपने सच्चे, समर्पित, प्रतिबद्ध शिष्यों से कही गई बातें स्पष्ट कर देती हैं कि “यीशु के नाम में माँगने” की प्रतिज्ञा हर किसी के लिए नहीं है, केवल प्रभु के सच्चे, समर्पित, और प्रतिबद्ध शिष्यों के लिए है। और वह भी तब, जब वे उसके साथ जुड़े रहें, उसके आज्ञाकारी बने रहें। अगले लेख में हम “विश्वास से” प्रभु से माँगने के कुछ और उदाहरणों को परमेश्वर के वचन से देखेंगे और समझेंगे।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (15)

Praying is an integral part of practical Christian living, and we see from Acts 2:42 that it is one of those four things that the initial Christian Believers observed steadfastly. But today, as has happened with everything associated with the Christian faith, many wrong teachings and misconceptions have come in amongst the Christians. The main reason for this is the Christians having given up studying God’s Word for themselves. Those who do read the Word, instead of studying the Word, they read a small portion, usually just to fulfill a formality. For teachings from God’s Word, practically all Christians depend on whatever the Pastors, Church Elders, and the Preachers tell them; and they blindly accept whatever they say without cross-checking and verifying whatever is taught. Consequently, Satan has an open door for him to bring in many wrong teachings, human interpretations, and notions, and he is making full use of this opportunity. That is why, as we have done in the previous articles about other topics, about ‘praying’ too we are studying from God’s Word, seeing what is written in God’s Word, to recognize and understand the wrong teachings and the misconceptions. We have seen what prayer actually is, and why God wants His people to constantly be praying to Him. We have also seen that contrary to a popular and prevalent notion, God has not promised in His Word that He will answer every prayer made to Him “in faith” in affirmative. Rather, God has very clearly written whose prayers and what kinds of prayers He will answer in the affirmative. In the last article we had seen and understood about another related misinterpretation and misconception that God will always answer in the affirmative the prayers made using the phrase “asking in Jesus’ name.” While considering all these things, we have seen that God only answers in the affirmative the prayers made by those of His truly Born-Again children who are fully committed and surrendered to Him, and those of their prayers that are consistent with His Word and in accordance with His will. Today, to further clarify this, we will see from John chapter 15 some things said by the Lord, and ponder over them.

In the preceding articles we have seen that the Lord has repeatedly said to His disciples in John chapters 14 to 16 that whatever they ask Father God in His name, God will fulfill it. The same thing, the Lord has also said in John chapter 15, and often this is taken to preach and teach that this is a promise by the Lord, given to and applicable for everyone. In the previous article, while learning about “asking in the name of Jesus” we have seen and understood that the Lord has given this promise only to His obedient, surrendered, and committed disciples. At the time when the Lord had said this promise, Judas Iscariot had already left them and gone away. The implication is that this promise by the Lord was not meant for anyone who calls himself a disciple of the Lord, but only for the true and actual disciples. On seeing this from John 15, some important facts related to this promise come up before us. Moreover, it also becomes clear to us that this promise of the Lord is “conditional,” even for those true, surrendered, and committed disciples of the Lord; it was never meant to be used casually and in any manner by them. Let us see the verses related to this promise from John 15.

• John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” The first condition to doing something through the Lord’s power, being “fruitful” for Him is to abide in Him. The true disciples of the Lord have to remain constantly connected to Him, abiding in Him; in prayer, in the Word, in obedience (1 John 2:3-6). Those disciples who connect to the Lord off and on, only as per their convenience or only for their needs, cannot be fruitful for the Lord.

• John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” The condition of the aforementioned verses is affirmed by this verse. The Lord has made clear to His true, surrendered, and committed disciples that only when they abide in the Lord, and the Lord’s Word abides in them, will God listen and fulfill their prayers.

• John 15:10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.” These true disciples of the Lord can abide in the Lord’s love by staying obedient to Him. In other words, when they are obedient to the Lord, they will abide in Him, and when they abide in Him, then God will listen and fulfill their prayers. 

• John 15:16 “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” The right to ask the Lord, ask God the Father belongs to those who are chosen and appointed by the Lord, those who “bear fruit" for Him. And as we have seen above, this “bearing fruit” is only possible for the true disciples by being obedient to the Lord.

• John 15:19 “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” Those who have been chosen by the Lord, they have also been separated out from the world by the Lord. This is proved by the world and the people of the world hating them just as they hated the Lord. The implication is evident, those who have the world and the things of the world in them, those who love the world and whom the world loves, they are not the people of the Lord (1 John 2:15-17). Therefore, the assurance of “asking in the name of Jesus” is not for them.

In other words, the things that the Lord Jesus has said to His true, surrendered, committed disciples, make it very clear that the promise of “asking in the name of Jesus” is not for everyone, only for His true, surrendered, committed disciples. And that too when they abide in Him and remain obedient to Him. In the next article we will look at and understand some other examples of “asking in faith” from the Lord.

You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

5. वास्तविक जीवन की संबंधित बात और निष्कर्ष:

अंगूर, अर्थात दाख की खेती के लिए किसानों को पता है कि अच्छा फल लाने के लिए दाख लता की डालियों को उनके चारों और हवा का खुला बहाव और धूप लगते रहने की आवश्यकता होती है। इसीलिए, दाखलता की डालियों को भूमि से कुछ ऊँचाई पर एक जाल बनाकर उन पर फैलाया जाता है। यदि कोई डाली उस जाल से नीचे भूमि पर गिर जाए, तब यद्यपि वह फिर भी दाखलता के तने से तो जुड़ी रहती है किन्तु फलदायी होने के लिए उपयुक्त बातों – हवा का बहाव और धूप लगना, से वंचित हो जाती है, और इसीलिए या तो उसमें फल नहीं लगता है, या जो लगता है वह थोड़ा और निम्न गुणवत्ता का होता है। इसलिए किसान उस डाली को फिर से फलदायी बनाने के लिए उसे “airo – ऊपर उठा” कर फिर से उस जाल पर रख देता है, जिससे फल लाने के लिए उपयुक्त आवश्यकताएँ उस डाली को फिर से मिलने लगें; न कि उसे काट डालता है।

इसी प्रकार से यहाँ यूहन्ना 15:2 में प्रभु यीशु भी उन डालियों, अर्थात शिष्यों की बात कर रहा है जो किसी कारण “नीचे गिर” गए हैं और फल नहीं ला रहे हैं – यद्यपि वे उससे जुड़े हुए हैं – उस में हैं। दाख के खेत के किसान के समान, परमेश्वर भी उन गिरी हुई डालियों को उठा कर ऊपर जाल पर रखता है (भजन 37:24; नीतिवचन 24:16; मीका 7:8); और इस रीति से उन्हें फिर से फलदायी होने के योग्य परिस्थितियाँ प्रदान करता है, जिससे कि वे फिर से फल लाना आरंभ कर सकें। जो डालियाँ फल ला चुकी हैं, वह उनकी छँटाई करता है, अर्थात उनके अब व्यर्थ हो चुके भाग को जो पहले फल दे चुका है किन्तु अब उसका बना रहना और फल लाने में बाधा डालेगा, निकाल देता है। लेकिन केवल उन्हें ही, जो कभी भी प्रभु और उसकी देह – कलीसिया के साथ वास्तविकता में जुड़े नहीं रहे (प्रेरितों 20:29-30; 1 यूहन्ना 2:19) – उन्हें वह काट कर जलाने के लिए निकाल देता है, जैसा यूहन्ना 15:6 में लिखा है। यूहन्ना 15:2 के लोगों – जो प्रभु में हैं, उससे जुड़े हुए हैं, और यूहन्ना 15:6 के लोगों – जो मसीह में बने हुए नहीं हैं, में अंतर पर ध्यान दीजिए। वे जो मसीह में बने हुए नहीं हैं, वे मुरझा कर सूख जाएंगे और उन्हें निकाल कर जलाने के लिए भेज दिया जाएगा; न कि उन्हें जो मसीह में बने हुए हैं।

वास्तविक जीवन की इस परिस्थिति की पुष्टि इस खण्ड और पद का बाइबल अध्ययन और विश्लेषण के सिद्धांतों के अनुसार सही और गहन अध्ययन और विश्लेषण करने के द्वारा हो जाती है, जो कि अनुवाद का एक हल्का सा ऊपरी अवलोकन कर के जल्दबाजी में लिए गए निष्कर्ष के द्वारा संभव नहीं है। इसलिए यूहन्ना 15:2 का सही अर्थ है कि किसान, अर्थात परमेश्वर पिता मसीह में बनी हुई किन्तु गिर चुकी डालियों को उठा कर सही स्थान पर रखता है, उन्हें बहाल करता है, और जब आवश्यकता होती है, तब डालियों की छँटाई भी करता है, उन्हें बहुतायत से फलदायी बनाने के लिए। लेकिन जो मसीह में बने हुए नहीं हैं, उन्हें वह निकला कर आग में जलने के लिए भेज देता है। सच्चा मसीही विश्वासी कभी मसीह से अलग नहीं हो सकता है, उसका उद्धार नहीं खो सकता है, चाहे वह कुछ समय के लिए फल न लाने पाए।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Does the Branch Cast Away in John 15:1-6 show that a Believer can be “Cut-Off” and be Destroyed? – Part 5

     In the past five articles we have been considering John 15:1-6, particularly 15:2, to see whether it is a proof that salvation can be lost and the errant Believer can be cast away or destroyed or not, as some people allege on the basis of this verse 2. In the first article we had seen some basic principles of Bible study and interpretation, that help us in avoiding as well as identifying wrong interpretations and meanings. From the second article till the last one, we used these principles of Bible study, one by one to study and analyze this passage, particularly verse 15:2. We saw that when this passage and verse is studied and analyzed according to the principles of Bible study, every time we came to the same result – this passage and verse cannot mean that a Christian Believer’s salvation can be lost. Today, we will look at a real-life situation related to cultivating grape-vines, the use of “airo” in that real-life situation, and then finally draw the conclusions that sum up our analysis so far.

 

5. The Related Real-Life Situation and Conclusion:

For grape cultivation, the farmers know that to be fruitful the grape vine branches need a good circulation of air around them and a good exposure to sunlight. That is why they put the grape-vine branches up on a grid, at some height from the ground. If a branch happens to fall off the grid on to the ground, then though it is still attached to the main trunk of the vine, but it no longer has the conditions for fruitfulness – exposure to sunlight and good circulation of air around it, and therefore will no longer bear fruit, or bear only poor quality and meagre fruit. Therefore, the farmer, to restore it to proper fruitfulness “airo - lifts it up” on to the grid and puts it back up onto the grid to once again provide to that branch proper conditions to bear fruit. It is not that he cuts and throw away that branch, as the translation of this verse implies. The “airo” used here in John 15:2 is to say that the farmer lifts the branch back on to the grid; and not that the farmer “lifts-off” or cuts away that branch.

Similarly, The Lord Jesus in John 15:2 is talking about those who are “in Him”, i.e., His disciples, who for some reason have “fallen away” and are no longer fruitful, though are still attached to the Lord – they are “in Him”. Like the Vine-Dresser or farmer of grape vines, God too lifts up the fallen branches (Psalm 37:24; Proverbs 24:16; Micah 7:8); and thereby provides them with an environment where they can again start bearing fruit. Those who have borne fruit, He prunes, i.e., He takes away the redundant parts, that have served their purpose, but their continual presence will hinder further fruitfulness. But only those who were never a part of the Lord and His Body – the Church (Acts 20:29-30; 1 John 2:19) – these He casts away, as it says in John 15:6. Notice the difference between those in John 15:2 and those in John 15:6 – those “in Christ”, and those who are not abiding in Christ. It is the ones who are not abiding in Christ, who wither away and are cast away to be burned; not those who are “in Christ.”

This real-life situation was affirmed by a proper in-depth study and analysis of the passage and verse according to principles of Bible study, instead of drawing a hasty conclusion through a cursory consideration of the translation. Therefore, the correct meaning of John 15:2 is that the ‘vinedresser’, i.e., God the Father, “lifts up” i.e. restores the fallen branches in Christ, and when required, He also prunes every branch that is in Christ, to make it abundantly fruitful again. But those who are not in Christ, those He casts away to be burnt in the fire. A true Christian Believer can never be separated from Christ, can never lose his salvation, even though he may be unable to bear fruit for some time.
