मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 3 - प्रभु-भोज (10)
व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने वचन, बाइबल में दिए गए निर्देशों में से चार हमें प्रेरितों 2:42 में मिलते हैं। इन चार निर्देशों को “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है। हमने पहले के लेखों में देखा है कि लौलीन होकर इन चारों का पालन करने से, आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी अपने आत्मिक जीवन तथा विश्वास में, और सँख्या में तेज़ी से बढ़े थे; और साथ ही कलीसियाएं भी स्थापित होती चली गई थीं। क्योंकि आज मसीही इनका लौलीन होकर नहीं, किन्तु एक औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए, और स्वयं को ‘धर्म’ का निर्वाह करने वाले दिखाने के लिए, रस्म निभाने के लिए प्रयोग करते हैं, इसलिए न तो वे स्वयं अपने आत्मिक और मसीही जीवन में बढ़ते हैं, और न ही कलीसियाएं बढ़ती और उन्नत होती हैं। पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम मसीही जीवन के इन चार में से तीसरे स्तम्भ, “रोटी तोड़ना” अर्थात प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में, चारों सुसमाचारों के अतिरिक्त, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने से सम्बन्धित बातें मुख्यतः 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 में दी गई हैं। बाइबल के इस खण्ड में दी गई बातों को हम सात बिन्दुओं के अन्तर्गत देखते आ रहे हैं। हमने पिछले पाँच लेखों में, इन सात में से चौथे बिन्दु, अर्थात प्रभु भोज के उद्देश्य और सम्बन्धित बातों को 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:23-26 पदों से देखा और सीखा है। आज से हम पाँचवें बिन्दु, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना, के बारे में 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:27-28 पदों से देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।
5. प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना - पद 27-28 - (भाग 1)
पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, कुरिन्थुस के मसीही विश्वासियों को लिखी गई पहली पत्री में, पौलुस प्रेरित ने प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के बारे में उनकी गलतियों को सुधारने के लिए कुछ निर्देश 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:17-34 में लिखे हैं। इसे परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का एक भाग बनाने के द्वारा, पवित्र आत्मा ने इसे प्रभु यीशु की सार्वभौमिक विश्वव्यापी कलीसिया के पालन के लिए भी ठहरा दिया है। इस खण्ड में, जैसा हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं, पद 17-22 में पहले तो पवित्र आत्मा ने उनकी गलतियों को दिखाते हुए, उन लोगों को एक फटकार लगाई है। फिर पद 23-26 में प्रभु की मेज़ के उद्देश्यों और उस में भाग लेने के निहितार्थों को बताया है। गलतियों को दिखाने, और सही रीति से भाग लेने के बारे में समझाने के बाद, अब पद 27-28 में पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के तरीके को लिखवाया है। अधिकाँश पारम्परिक कलीसियाओं में प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के लिए एक निर्धारित रीति है, जो उनकी पुस्तक में लिखी हुई होती है। प्रभु भोज दिए जाने के दिन, कलीसिया का पास्टर और कलीसिया के लोग, उस छपी हुई निर्धारित रीति को, उसी लिखित क्रम में पढ़ते और बोलते चले जाते हैं; और उनकी पुस्तक में लिखी गई बातों के अनुसार करते चले जाते हैं। इसके विपरीत, यहाँ पर, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में, इन पद 27-28 में, ऐसी न तो कोई रीति दी गई है, और न ही कोई क्रम दिया गया है। साथ ही, कोई ऐसा संकेत अथवा निर्देश भी नहीं दिया गया है कि स्थानीय कलीसियाओं को इन पदों पर आधारित अपनी कोई विधि बनाकर, कलीसिया के लोगों से उसका पालन करवाना है।
परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के इन दो पदों में, पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रभु की मेज़ में सम्मिलित होने के एक तरीके पर ही बल दिया है - अनुचित तरीके पर। और फिर इससे अगले दो, अर्थात पद 29-30 में अनुचित रीति से भाग लेने के परिणाम बताए हैं। तात्पर्य यह कि क्या अनुचित है, तथा क्या उचित है, यह इससे पहले के पदों, पद 17-26 में दी गई बातों के आधार पर निर्धारित हो जाता है। क्योंकि उन पदों में लोगों की गलतियाँ भी बता दी गई हैं, मेज़ के उद्देश्य, निहितार्थ, और सम्बन्धित बातें भी समझा दिए गए हैं। जो उन बातों पर ध्यान देगा, उन पर विचार करके उनका पालन करेगा, उसे स्वतः ही समझ में आ जाएगा कि अनुचित तरीका क्या है, और उसके विपरीत उचित तरीका क्या है। इसका प्रकट निष्कर्ष है कि जो इन पदों के अनुसार अनुचित है, वह नहीं करना है। इसके लिए, प्रभु यीशु द्वारा सुसमाचार के वृतांतों में दी गई और स्थापित की गई विधि से अलग अन्य कोई क्रमवार विधि बनाकर उसे पालन करने के लिए स्थापित करने की आवश्यकता ही नहीं है। भाग लेने वाले प्रत्येक मसीही के विवेक को यह गवाही देनी चाहिए कि वह परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार सही होकर ही भाग ले भी रहा है कि नहीं। जबकि, यदि कोई लिखित विधि दी जाए, तो किसी भी निर्धारित विधि-क्रम को, एक औपचारिकता और रस्म बनते देर नहीं लगती है, जैसा हम सामान्यतः कलीसियाओं में होते हुए देखते हैं। चाहे भाग लेने वालों का ध्यान उसमें हो अथवा न हो; चाहे उनका मन भाग लेने के लिए शुद्ध और तैयार हो अथवा न हो; चाहे उनका विवेक उन्हें भाग लेने की अनुमति दे अथवा न दे; लेकिन फिर भी, परम्परा के निर्वाह, तथा लोगों को दिखाने, और भाग न लेने पर उठने वाले अटपटे प्रश्नों का उत्तर देने से बचने के लिए लोग औपचारिकता पूरी कर लेते हैं, प्रभु भोज में भाग ले लते हैं; बिना यह समझे कि यह उनके लिए आशीष का नहीं, बल्कि दोषी ठहरने और दण्ड मिलने का कारण होगा।
अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे, और इन दोनों पदों, 27-28 के बारे में विचार करेंगे।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 3 - Breaking of Bread (10)

God has provided His instructions for practical Christian living in His Word, the Bible; and we have four of them in Acts 2:42. These four instructions are also called the “Pillars of Christian Living.” In the earlier articles we have seen that by steadfastly following these four, the early Christians grew rapidly not only in their spiritual life and faith, but also in their numbers; and at the same time churches also continued being established. Because today, the Christians do not observe these four steadfastly. Instead, to show that they practice their religion and fulfill its formalities, they merely observe them as rituals. Therefore, neither do they grow in their spiritual and Christian life; nor do the churches grow and are edified. Over the past few articles, we have been looking at the third of these four pillars of Christian Living, the “breaking of bread,” i.e., partaking of the Holy Communion. In God's Word, the Bible, in addition to the four gospels, the main instructions about partaking of the Holy Communion are found in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. We have been looking at the things given in this section of the Bible under seven points. In the previous five articles we have seen and learned about the fourth of these seven points, i.e., about the purpose of the Holy Communion, and related things from 1 Corinthians 11:23-36. Today we will begin looking at the fifth point, partaking of the Lord's Table, from 1 Corinthians 11:27-28.
5. Partaking in the Holy Communion - verses 27-28 - (Part 1)
Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in his first letter to the Corinthian Christians, the Apostle Paul gives some instructions for correcting their mistakes regarding partaking of the Holy Communion in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. By making it a part of God's Word, the Bible, the Holy Spirit has also ordained it for the observance of the universal worldwide church of the Lord Jesus. As we have seen in the previous articles, in this section, in verses 17-22 the Holy Spirit first rebukes those people, showing them their mistakes. Then in verses 23-26 explains to them the purposes of the Lord's Table and the implications of participating in it. After pointing out their mistakes, and explaining the proper way to partake, now in verses 27-28 the Holy Spirit shows the way to partake of the Lord's Table. Most traditional or denominational churches have a set ritual for partaking of the Lord's Supper, which is written in their books. On the day of serving the Holy Communion, the Pastor of the church and the people of the congregation read and speak out the printed ritual as per that written sequence; and they keep doing according to what is written in their books in the given order. On the contrary, here in God's Word, the Bible, in verses 27-28, there is no such method given, nor is any order of doing things been given. Moreover, there is no indication or instruction that local churches should create their own methods based on these verses and then require the church congregations to follow them.
In these two verses of God's Word, the Bible, the Holy Spirit has emphasized upon only one way of partaking of the Lord's table — the improper way. And then in the next two, i.e. verses 29-30, the consequences of participating improperly are given. The implication is that what is inappropriate and what is appropriate is determined on the basis of what is given in the previous verses, i.e., verses 17-26. Because in those verses not only the mistakes of the people have been explained, but also the purpose, implications, and things related to partaking of the Table have also been explained. One who pays attention to those things, ponders over them, and follows them, will automatically understand what is the wrong way, and what in contrast is the right way. The evident conclusion is that whatever is incorrect according to these verses is not to be done. For this, there is no need to give any other method, and instruct that it is to be followed, other than what the Lord Jesus has already given and established in the gospel accounts. The conscience of every participating Christian should bear witness to him, whether or not he is participating in the right manner according to God's Word. Whereas, if a written method is given to follow, it does not take long for any prescribed method to become a formality and ritual, as we commonly see happening in churches. Whether the participants are paying attention to the participation or not; whether their hearts and mind are prepared and ready to participate or not; whether their conscience is allowing them to participate or not; But still, in order to fulfill tradition and to show to the people, and to avoid answering the awkward questions that arise from their not participating, people go ahead and complete the formality, and participate in the Holy Communion; Without understanding that this would not be a blessing for them, but would be a reason for being found guilty and punished.
In the next article we will continue from here, and consider these two verses, 27-28.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
