यादगार के उत्सव - फसह तथा प्रभु की मेज़ (2)

 

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने से पहले प्रत्येक जन को अपने जीवन के पापों को हटा देना है; और यह प्रभु परमेश्वर से पापों का अँगीकार करने, उससे उन की क्षमा माँगने, और प्रभु के द्वारा बहाल किए जाने से होता है। यह आम धारणा कदापि सही नहीं है कि, प्रभु भोज में भाग ले लेने से पाप क्षमा हो जाते हैं, व्यक्ति पापों से शुद्ध हो जाता है। आज हम इसी के बारे में कुछ और बातें देखेंगे और सीखेंगे। 

        हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर के वचन में, खमीर पाप का सूचक है। खमीर को स्वयं से दूर रखते हुए जीवन जीने का यह तात्पर्य हुआ कि परमेश्वर के लोग होने का अर्थ है उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में जीना, तथा पाप और सांसारिकता से दूर रहना; जानते-बूझते हुए पाप और सांसारिकता के साथ समझौता नहीं करना, उसमें भाग नहीं लेना। पौलुस में होकर पवित्र आत्मा ने मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए लिखवाया है “तुम प्रभु के कटोरे, और दुष्टात्माओं के कटोरे दोनों में से नहीं पी सकते! तुम प्रभु की मेज और दुष्टात्माओं की मेज दोनों के साझी नहीं हो सकते” (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:21)। इसका यह अर्थ अथवा अभिप्राय नहीं है कि मसीही विश्वासी कभी पाप नहीं करता हमेशा निष्पाप जीवन जीता है। वरन, इसका अर्थ है कि जब कभी भी मसीही विश्वासी से पाप होता है, जो कि अवश्य ही होगा, तो जैसे ही वह अपने पाप को मान लेगा, उसके लिए क्षमा मांगेगा, परमेश्वर उसे क्षमा कर के फिर से बहाल कर देगा (1 यूहन्ना 1:7-10)। एक मसीही विश्वासी पाप में बना नहीं रह सकता है (1 यूहन्ना 3:9)। दूसरे शब्दों में एक मसीही विश्वासी को प्रभु के साथ संगति में बने रहना है, अपने आप को जाँचते रहना है कि कहीं कोई “खमीर” या पाप तो उसके जीवन में नहीं घुस आया है; और यदि आ गया है, तो उसे प्रभु के सामने लाकर, प्रभु द्वारा उसे साफ करवा लेना है। प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने का अर्थ है अपने जीवन को जाँचते रहना, आँकलन करते रहना, और प्रभु के प्रति समर्पित बने रहना।

       फसह में भाग लेने का परमेश्वर का निर्देश, और अपने शिष्यों से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहने का प्रभु यीशु का निर्देश, दोनों एक ही बात को दिखाते हैं - परमेश्वर के लोगों को परमेश्वर का आज्ञाकारी बने रहना है, उसके कार्य में लगे रहना है, और पाप तथा सांसारिकता से अपने आप को बचाकर रखना है। एक बार फिर यह, जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं, दिखाता है कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता नहीं है, और न ही यह भाग लेने वालों के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य तथा स्वर्ग जाने के योग्य होने के लिए है। किन्तु यह उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार हैं। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया हैया नहीं। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

       In the previous article we have seen that participation in the Holy Communion requires putting away the sin in one's life; and this is through confessing the sins to the Lord God, asking for His forgiveness, and being restored by Him. Unlike the popular perception, participating in the Holy Communion does not take away or cleanse the sins of any person. Today we will look a bit further into this, and learn some more about it.

        We have seen earlier that in God’s Word, leaven is a sign of sin. Living a life away from leaven signified that being the people of God, meant living in obedience to God, and required staying away from all sin and worldliness; not to deliberately engage and partake in sin and worldliness. Through Paul, the Holy Spirit had it written to the Christian Believers “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord's table and of the table of demons” (1 Corinthians 10:21). This does not imply or mean that a Christian Believer never sins and always lives a sinless life; rather, it means that as and when a Believer does sin, which will happen, as soon as he confesses his sin and asks for God’s forgiveness, God will forgive and restore him (1 John 1:7-10). A Christian Believer cannot continue or remain in sin (1 John 3:9; see NIV for a clearer translation). In other words, the Christian Believer has to remain in fellowship with the Lord, keep examining himself to see if any “leaven” or sin has come into his life; if it has, then to take it to the Lord and to get it cleaned out by the Lord. Celebrating the Holy Communion demands a life of self-evaluation and surrender to the Lord God.

       God’s ordinance for participating in the Passover feast, and the Lord Jesus’s commandment to His disciples to partake of His Table, both signify the same thing - God’s people to be obedient to God, be occupied with His work, without getting tarnished by sin and worldliness. Once again this, as we have seen earlier, shows that participating in the Holy Communion is not a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, nor is it meant to make those participating in it the people of God and worthy of going to heaven. But it is for those who willingly have chosen to be committed disciples of the Lord, to live in obedience to His Word, and are even willing to pay a price for doing so. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

       If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने के द्वारा किसी के भी पाप नहीं मिटते हैं; यह तो व्यक्ति के द्वारा अपने पापों का अंगीकार करने, उनके लिए सच्चा पश्चाताप करने, और अपने जीवन को प्रभु यीशु मसीह को समर्पित करने के द्वारा, अर्थात नया-जन्म पाने के द्वारा ही होता है। और जब भी व्यक्ति कोई भी पाप करे, उसे अपने आप को प्रभु के सामने माँ लेना है, ताकि प्रभु के द्वारा उसे शुद्ध किया जाए, और बहाल किया जाए (1 यूहन्ना 1:9)। हम अगले लेख में इसके बारे में कुछ और देखेंगे।

The Memorial Feasts - The Passover & The Lord’s Table (1)

 

       The memorial feast of the Passover, for the Israelites, had been ordained for seven days (Exodus 12:15), every year; and it was also prescribed that they were to “observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance” (verse 17), i.e., as long as Israel existed. For the New Testament Born-Again Christian Believers, instead of the Passover, it is the Holy Communion. As we have seen before, the Lord Jesus has commanded His disciples to keep observing it, or partaking in it, not as an annual event for a certain number of days, but till He and God’s Kingdom come (Luke 22:18; 1 Corinthians 11:26). What was not apparent to the Israelites at the time of the first Passover being celebrated, and to their subsequent generations, was, that in God’s plans, the Jews and the gentiles were eventually to be saved in like manner, through faith in the Lord Jesus, and together form one people, the one household of God (Ephesians 2:14-20; Romans 9:27; 11:26). So what was an annual seven-day feast for the Jews, was eventually to turn into and merge with the Holy Communion or the Lord’s Table, as they come to salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus; once again, the antecedent Passover, becomes the final Lord’s Table.

        In God’s Word, seven is a number denoting perfection and completeness. The seven-day feast of the Passover, denotes celebrating it till the work of the Passover, the deliverance of Israel is completed, which happens when they accept and believe in the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, as has been prophesied for them (Romans 11:26). As they turn to Christ, individually, as they are now, and at a later time as a nation, the Passover gets replaced and will be replaced by the Holy Communion for the Jewish Believers. The feast was to begin and end with a Holy Convocation, i.e., gathering together (verse 16). The Lord Jesus started this feast by gathering together His disciples and initiating the Communion from the Passover; and it will culminate with its being fulfilled in the Kingdom of God, when all of God’s people will be gathered and join in eating it (Luke 22:15-16).

        On the first day of starting the feast, the Israelites had to remove all traces of leaven from their houses. Throughout the seven days, they were to eat unleavened bread. How serious God was about this ordinance of keeping leaven away from the Israelites is evident from two things: Firstly, as mentioned in verses 15 and 19, anyone who ate any leaven, was to be “cut-off” from the congregation of Israel; i.e., removed, or eliminated from Israel, whether by death or ex-communication has not been specified, and the original Hebrew word can mean both. In either case it was quite a serious punishment for anyone, and this signified the seriousness of the offence in God’s eyes. Secondly, in the six verses, from 15 to 20, except for verse 16, the other five verses emphasize this eating of bread without leaven or eating unleavened bread. For God to repeatedly emphasize and repeat this five times in a span of six verses shows how serious He was about it. Since delivering them out of Egypt, God has desired exclusive allegiance from the Jews (Exodus 19:3-6). Being God’s people, and living with the world, worldliness, and sin can never go together; God does not tolerate it (James 4:4; 1 John 2:15-17). The Christian Believers have been instructed to remove all “leaven” and only then participate in the Lord’s Festival (1 Corinthians 5:7-8).

        Participating in the Holy Communion does not cleanse anyone of their sins; it is the person's confessing of sins, repenting of them, and submitting one's life to the Lord Jesus, i.e., being Born-Again that cleanses a person of sins; and every time a person happens to sin, he is to confess that sin to the Lord to be cleansed and restored by Him (1 John 1:9). We will see some more about this in the next article.

You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed.        प्रभु भोज के प्ररूप, परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित फसह में होकर हमारे इस विषय के अध्ययन में हमने देखा है कि कैसे फसह का बलि का मेमना और परमेश्वर के बलि के मेमने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह, में समानताएँ हैं, और किस प्रकार से वह प्रथम फसह में भाग लेना, प्रभु यीशु द्वारा सारे संसार के सभी लोगों के समस्त पापों के लिए प्रभु यीशु के बलिदान और समाधान का प्ररूप है। इन सब में होकर हमने फसह तथा प्रभु की मेज़ के अर्थ, महत्व, और मनाने के बारे में बहुत सी बातों को देखा और सीखा है। हमने अपने पहले खण्ड, निर्गमन 12:1-14 के अंत पर आकर देखा है कि परमेश्वर ने उस एक बार के छुटकारे की घटना को, हमेशा के लिए उस घटना की यादगार में मनाए जाने वाले उत्सव में परिवर्तित कर दिया है - इस्राएलियों के लिए एक सालाना पर्व तथा प्रभु यीशु के शिष्यों के लिए, उसके तथा परमेश्वर के राज्य के आने तक (लूका 22:18; 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:26), उसकी मेज़ में भाग लेते रहने के लिए।

       प्रभु भोज के बारे में सीखने से संबंधित हमारे दूसरे खण्ड निर्गमन 12:15-20 में प्रभु परमेश्वर ने इस यादगार के उत्सव, फसह तथा प्रभु भोज, को मनाने के लिए निर्देश दिए हैं। यह एक बार फिर से इस बात पर बल देता है कि परमेश्वर अपनी आराधना, तथा महिमा और बड़ाई किए जाने से संबंधित बातों को पापमय मनुष्य, जो शैतान द्वारा बड़ी सरलता से चतुराई में फँसाया जा सकता है, के हाथों में किसी भी प्रकार से नहीं छोड़ता है। क्योंकि मनुष्य को पता भी नहीं चलेगा कि कब शैतान बड़े हल्के में और चालाकी से उससे भक्ति और धार्मिकता के भेष में, कुछ ऐसा करवा देगा जो अन्ततः परमेश्वर और उसकी आराधना को भ्रष्ट करेगा, उनका निरादर कर देगा। हम निर्गमन में देखते हैं कि इस्राएलियों के मिस्र के दासत्व से छुड़ाए जाने के पश्चात, परमेश्वर ने उन्हें अपनी दस आज्ञाएँ दीं, जो उनका मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए थीं; उनके जीवन और संबंधों के हर रीति से निर्देशित करने के लिए - परमेश्वर के साथ भी, तथा परस्पर एक-दूसरे के साथ भी। उसने उन्हें परमेश्वर की आराधना करने के लिए मिलाप वाले तंबू से संबंधित बातों का विवरण भी दिया - उससे संबंधित सभी बातों का - उसका आकार, उसकी लंबाई, चौड़ाई, ऊंचाई और उसका नक्शा, उसमें लगने और उपयोग होने वाले सामान का विवरण, उसे कैसे खड़ा करना है, कैसे लपेटना है, कैसे उपयोग करना है, आदि, सब कुछ परमेश्वर ने ही निश्चित और निर्धारित किया, मनुष्य को केवल उसके निर्देशों का पालन करना था। और निर्गमन की पुस्तक के दूसरे अर्ध-भाग में, परमेश्वर ने मूसा को बारंबार इसके लिए सचेत किया कि वह इस बात का ध्यान रखे कि सब कुछ वैसे ही किया जाए जैसा उसे बताया और दिखाया गया है, उसमें ज़रा सा भी कोई परिवर्तन नहीं होना चाहिए। फिर लैव्यव्यवस्था और गिनती की पुस्तकों में परमेश्वर ने अपनी व्यवस्था दी, जिसके अनुसार उसके लोगों को चलना था, और उसकी उपासना, आराधना करनी थी; कोई भी बात किसी भी मनुष्य की कल्पना, पसन्द-नापसंद पर नहीं छोड़ी गई थी। फिर वाचा के देश, कनान में प्रवेश करने से पहले, व्यवस्थाविवरण की पुस्तक में, परमेश्वर ने मूसा के द्वारा इन सारी बातों को उन लोगों के सामने दोहराया; तथा लिखवा भी दिया कि उसके निर्देशों में से किसी भी बात में न तो कुछ जोड़ा जाएगा, और न उस में से कुछ घटाया जाएगा (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; 12:32); और इसी बात को अपने वचन बाइबल में दो बार और दोहरा दिया, एक बार मध्य में, नीतिवचन 30:5-6 में, और फिर अंत में प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19 में।

       जब मिलाप वाले तंबू के स्थान पर परमेश्वर के मंदिर को बनाने का समय आया, तब परमेश्वर ने एक मनुष्य, राजा दाऊद को, इसके विषय उसकी अपनी इच्छा पूरी नहीं करने दी; जबकि परमेश्वर का नबी नातान उससे सहमत था,और  दाऊद परमेश्वर के मन के अनुसार व्यक्ति था (प्रेरितों 13:22) और परमेश्वर के निकट था, हम आज भी उसके द्वारा लिखे गए भजनों का अध्ययन करते हैं, परमेश्वर की स्तुति और आराधना के लिए उपयोग करते हैं। किन्तु परमेश्वर ने दाऊद और नातान की इच्छा को पूरा नहीं होने दिया, परन्तु राजा सुलैमान को चुना कि वह मंदिर को बनवाए (1 राजाओं 8:15-20)। एक बार फिर से परमेश्वर ने मंदिर के बारे में किसी भी बात को मनुष्यों के हाथों में, उनकी इच्छा पर नहीं छोड़ा। परमेश्वर ने मंदिर का सारा विवरण, याजकों और लेवियों की सेवा सहित, दाऊद को लिखवाया; और सुलैमान ने परमेश्वर द्वारा दाऊद को दिए गए उस विवरण, तथा सामग्री के द्वारा मंदिर का निर्माण करवाया (1 इतिहास 28:11-19)। फिर हम देखते हैं कि अपने पहाड़ी उपदेश के अंत की ओर, प्रभु यीशु ने भी इसी बात पर बल दिया कि परमेश्वर की सेवा उसकी इच्छा के अनुसार और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में की जानी चाहिए; न कि परमेश्वर के नाम में कुछ भी कर लें और यह मान लें कि वह परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होगा, वह उसका अनुमोदन करेगा, और उसके लिए प्रतिफल देगा (मत्ती 7:21-23), जबकि ऐसा करने के लिए उन मनुष्यों को प्रतिफल नहीं तिरस्कार और ताड़ना मिलेगी। अब फसह तथा उस पर आधारित प्रभु की मेज़ के लिए भी परमेश्वर ने हमेशा के लिए इस यादगार उत्सव को निर्धारित करते हुए, अपने इसी सिद्धांत को लागू किया है। इस उत्सव को मनाने का परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया एक तरीका है, और जब तक कि यह उस विधि के अनुसार नहीं मनाया जाएगा, वह व्यर्थ, निष्फल, और परमेश्वर को अस्वीकार्य है, उसमें भाग लेने वालों के लिए किसी महत्व अथवा प्रतिफल का नहीं है।

       जैसा कि इस विषय पर पिछले सभी लेखों में बारंबार बल देकर कहा गया है, शैतान अपनी इस कुटिलता में, परमेश्वर के निर्देशों को भ्रष्ट और महत्वहीन करने में केवल इसीलिए सफल होने पाया है क्योंकि परमेश्वर के लोगों ने परमेश्वर के वचन को “खाना”, अर्थात उसका व्यक्तिगत अध्ययन करना बंद कर दिया है। वरन, अब वे केवल इसी से संतुष्ट हैं कि परमेश्वर के नाम में पुल्पिट से उन्हें जो भी कह और सिखा दिया जाए, बिना बाइबल से उसकी जाँच-परख और पुष्टि किए, उसे स्वीकार कर लें, उसका पालन कर लें। क्योंकि अब शायद ही कोई होता है जो शैतान की बातों को चुनौती दे, उसकी भ्रष्ट शिक्षाओं का सामना करे इसलिए वह बड़ी चतुराई और हल्के में, आसानी से परमेश्वर के निर्देशों को बदल लेने, उनके अर्थ बदल लेने पाया है। ऐसा कर के उसने परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिए परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता के द्वारा जो आशीषें और सामर्थ्य इन बातों के द्वारा आनी चाहिए थी, उसे चुरा लिया है, और उन लोगों को अनन्त विनाश के पथ पर डाल दिया है। जबकि लोग बिना सोचे-समझे, इसी गलती में पड़े हुए हैं कि वे परमेश्वर की सेवा कर रहे हैं, स्वर्ग के मार्ग पर हैं - कृपया यशायाह 5:13 और होशे 4:6 पढ़ें और विचार करें।

        जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता नहीं है, और न ही यह भाग लेने वालों के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य तथा स्वर्ग जाने के योग्य बनाने के लिए है। किन्तु यह उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार हैं। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में नया-जन्म पाए हुए प्रभु के शिष्य हैं, अर्थात पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने स्वेच्छा से अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Lord’s Table - The Necessity of Obedience

 

       In our study of the Holy Communion, through its antecedent, the Passover, ordained by God, we have seen how the sacrificial lamb of the Passover, and the Lord Jesus, the sacrificial Lamb of God corelate, and how the manner of partaking in that first Passover, foreshadows the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus through His sacrifice for all of the sins of the entire mankind. Through this all, we have learnt many things about the meaning, significance, and observance of the Passover and the Holy Communion. At the conclusion of our first section of Exodus 12:1-14, we have seen that God has turned that one-time event of deliverance, into a memorial feast for all times - as annual Passover Feast for the Israelites, and as the perpetual participation in the Lord’s Table for His disciples, till He and God’s Kingdom come (Luke 22:18; 1 Corinthians 11:26).

        Our second section for learning about the Holy Communion through the Passover is Exodus 12:15-20, where the Lord God has given the instructions about the Lord’s people celebrating this Passover Feast, and the Holy Communion. This again emphasizes that God never leaves it to sinful man, prone to succumb to the wiles of the devil, to plan and do anything for worshipping and exalting God! Since, without even man’s realizing it, Satan will very subtly and cunningly bring in something in a seemingly very pious and godly manner, that eventually will corrupt and dishonor God’s worship and stature. In Exodus we see that after the deliverance of the Israelites, God gave them His Ten Commandments to guide them about every aspect of their life and relationships - with God as well as mutually. He gave them the details of the Tabernacle, where they had to worship God - everything about it - the size, the shape and design, the things, the materials to be used, the way it was to be set-up, taken-down, transported, the way it was to be utilized, etc., - everything was decided and detailed by God, man was only to follow His instructions. Throughout the second half of Exodus, about everything, God repeatedly cautioned Moses to make sure that he did everything as was told and shown to him, there was to be absolutely no change, no variation in it. Then in the books of Leviticus and Numbers, God gave them His Law, according to which His people had to conduct themselves and worship Him; nothing was left to the imaginations, likes, and preferences of any man; and then God had it all repeated to Israel, through Moses on the edge of Canaan, before they entered the Promised Land of Canaan, in the Book of Deuteronomy. God also emphasized that nothing from what He had given was to be altered; nothing added to it, and nothing taken away from it (Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32); and He has repeated and re-emphasized this instruction towards the middle, and then at the end of His Word, the Bible, in Proverbs 30:5-6, and Revelation 22:18-19.

        When the time came for the Tabernacle to be replaced by God’s Temple, God did not allow a man, King David, to fulfil his own desire and do it; even though God’s prophet Nathan agreed with David about it, and David was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22), was very near to God, and we still use and study Psalms written by him in praise of God. But God over-ruled David and Nathan, and chose King Solomon to build that Temple (1 Kings 815-20). Once again, God did not leave it to any man to decide anything about the Temple, but gave all the details to David, including the services of the Priest and Levites; and Solomon built according to those God given plans, and with the materials provided by God through David (1 Chronicles 28:11-19). Then again, towards the end of His Sermon on the Mount, the Lord Jesus too emphasized upon serving God according to His will and in obedience to Him, instead of doing things in the name of God and assuming that they will be accepted, acknowledged, and rewarded by Him (Matthew 7:21-23), whereas actually, those who do so will only get rejection and chastening, not rewards. Now, for the Passover, and the Lord’s Table, based on the Passover, while ordaining it to be a perpetual feast for His people, we again see God’s same principle stated and recorded - there is a God given manner of doing it, and unless done in that manner, it is vain, unacceptable to God, and inconsequential for the participants.

        As has repeatedly been emphasized in all the previous articles related to the first section, Satan has been successful in subverting and corrupting God’s instructions for one reason, because God’s people have stopped feeding themselves on God’s Word; i.e., stopped studying it for themselves. Rather they are content with accepting and following, without cross-checking and verifying from God’s Word, whatever is told to them in the name of God. Since there is hardly anyone to stand up to him and challenge his corruption, therefore, Satan has cunningly and subtly been able to alter and modify God’s instructions, thereby has stolen way the blessings and power of God that was to come upon His people through the obedience of God's   Word, and has put the people on the path to eternal destruction, while they glibly and very erroneously think that they are serving God and are on the way to heaven - see and ponder over Isaiah 5:13 and Hosea 4:6.

        As we have seen earlier, participating in the Holy Communion is not a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, nor is it meant to make the participants the people of God and worthy of going to heaven. But it is for those who willingly have chosen to be committed disciples of the Lord, to live in obedience to His Word, and are even willing to pay a price for doing so. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a Born-Again disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity.         हमारे विचार के लिए दूसरे खण्ड, पद 15-20 में, परमेश्वर ने इस्राएलियों, तथा प्रभु के शिष्यों, दोनों को निर्देश दिए हैं कि वे किस प्रकार से आनंदपूर्वक परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए इस छुटकारे को मनाएं और इसमें भाग लें। एक बार फिर से ध्यान कीजिए, परमेश्वर ने बात को मनुष्यों की इच्छा, समझ, और पसन्द पर नहीं छोड़ा है; उसने न तो यह कहा और न ही अभिप्राय दिया है कि “तुम अपने आनन्द के लिए जैसे चाहे इस मना सकते हो” वरन उसने निश्चित और विशिष्ट निर्देश दिए हैं कि इसे कैसे मनाया जाना है। यही अपने आप में यह दिखाता है कि इसमें कोई भी फेर-बदल, किसी भी मनुष्य के द्वारा किसी भी आधार पर इसे ‘सुधारने’ का किया गया कोई भी प्रयास, एक प्रकार से यह कहना होगा कि “मैं परमेश्वर से बेहतर जानता और कर सकता हूँ; परमेश्वर से कुछ चूक हो गई थी, और अब मैं परमेश्वर की उस भूल को सुधार रहा हूँ!” यह स्वयं को परमेश्वर से उच्च करने के समान है - वही जो लूसिफर ने स्वर्ग में करना चाहा और निष्कासित कर दिया गया, गिराया गया और शैतान बन गया। शैतान, जो हमेशा ही परमेश्वर का विरोधी रहता है, परमेश्वर की सभी योजनाओं, उद्देश्यों, और विधियों को बिगाड़ता और हानि पहुँचाता रहता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3)। हमेशा बड़ी चतुराई से अपनी दुष्टता की योजनाओं को धर्म (जो हमेशा ही परमेश्वर नहीं, मनुष्य की ईजाद रहा है), गढ़ी हुई धार्मिकता, मनुष्य के अनुसार धार्मिकता के कार्यों, आदि (कुलुस्सियों 2:4, 8) के रूप में; तथा सदा ही परमेश्वर के सभी निर्देशों और वचन में कुछ जोड़ने-घटाने के साथ, कुछ गलत व्याख्याओं और दुरुपयोगों के साथ लोगों के सामने बड़े आकर्षक, तर्कपूर्ण, और मनोहर ढंग से रखता रहता है।

        शैतान की इस कार्य-विधि का एक बहुत सटीक उदाहरण है यह प्रभु की मेज़, हम जिसके बारे में अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। हम पहले खण्ड में देख चुके हैं कि किस प्रकार से शैतान ने चुपके से, बड़ी चतुराई, और दुष्ट शैतानी योजनाओं के साथ मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए उसके अर्थ, उद्देश्यों, और उपयोग को एक व्यर्थ, निष्फल रीति में बदल दिया है। यद्यपि अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही समाज के लगभग सभी समुदायों और डिनॉमिनेशंस में इसे बड़ी श्रद्धा के साथ नियमित मनाया जाता है, किन्तु किसी को यह एहसास नहीं होता है कि क्योंकि परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके वचन में दी गई विधि का दृढ़ता से पालन करते रहने की बजाए, शैतान ने लोगों के द्वारा इसे मनाने की विधि में समुदायों और डिनॉमिनेशंस के मनुष्यों द्वारा गढ़े गए नियमों और कार्य-विधियों के अनुसार परिवर्तन करवा दिए हैं, इसलिए परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में अब उनका यह प्रभु भोज कितना खोखला और महत्वहीन हो गया है।

        जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता नहीं है, और न ही यह भाग लेने वालों के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य तथा स्वर्ग जाने के योग्य होने के लिए है। किन्तु यह उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार हैं। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

The Lord’s Table - To be Observed as Ordained by God

 

       In our study of the Holy Communion, we have seen that the Holy Communion was established by the Lord Jesus while eating the Passover with His disciples, using the elements of the Passover. The Passover is the antecedent of the Lord’s Table, its being ordained by God and the instructions related to it are given in Exodus 12. From Exodus 12:1-14, our first section for studying the Holy Communion through its precursor, we have seen many things that tell us about God’s plans and purpose for the Passover as well as the Lord’s Table, and about participating in them. God has been very specific, how this participation has to be done, and has not given any freedom or authority to any man to alter or modify His instructions about either the Passover, or about the Holy Communion. In the concluding verse of our first section, verse 14, we have seen that God has turned this one-time event into a perpetual memorial, to be kept and celebrated as a feast of deliverance and liberation - both literally by the Israelites, as the deliverance and liberation of Israel from Egypt - the house of bondage; and figuratively by the Lord’s disciples, as the Lord’s Table, commemorating the Lord Jesus’s sacrifice for the deliverance of mankind from the bondage of Satan and sin, to be celebrated by His committed, Born-Again disciples till He and God’s Kingdom come. In verse 14, God has changed the focus from the then current to the future, by making these into a memorial, meant to keep reminding the people of God, both the Israelites as well as the committed, Born-Again disciples of the Lord Jesus, of how God has done for them what they could never do by themselves, or, for themselves; He through His methods and ways has delivered them from their respective bondages.

        In our second section of Exodus 12, i.e., verses 15-20, God has given the instructions to the Israelites as well as the disciples of the Lord Jesus, about how to joyfully remember and partake of their respective feasts of God’s deliverance. Again, note, God has neither said nor implied that “you can keep doing it and enjoy yourself as you feel like” but has given a specific set of instructions about doing it. This by itself implies that any alterations, any modifications, any attempts by any person, on any pretext, is tantamount to saying, “I can do better than God; God happened to overlook something, and I am now rectifying God’s mistake!” It is exalting self above God - what Lucifer tried to do in heaven, was cast out of heaven and became Satan, forever the adversary of God, always subverting and sabotaging God’s plans, purposes, and methods about everything (2 Corinthians 11:3). Always very cunningly presenting his devious ploys to people in a very attractive, logical, and appealing manner; in the garb of religion (ever a man-made entity, never given by God), contrived religiosity, works of righteousness according to man, etc. (Colossians 2:4, 8); and, always with some additions or subtractions from God’s Word, with some misinterpretation and mis-application or the other of God’s instructions, for everything that God has said and given.

        A very apt illustration of this working pattern of Satan is the Lord’s Table, that we are studying about. We have already seen in the first section how Satan has subtly, cunningly, and deviously altered the meaning, purpose, and application of the Lord’s Table for the Christian Believers, and turned it into a vain, inconsequential ritual. Although it is regularly and quite reverentially being practiced in practically all of the sects and denominations of Christendom, but is being done without realizing how empty and meaningless it has become in God’s eyes, because Satan has cunningly induced people to alter and modify the Holy Communion and observe it according to the man-made rules and regulations of the various sects and denominations, instead of staying committed to God’s way given in His Word.

       As we have seen earlier, participating in the Holy Communion is not a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, nor is it meant to make the participants the people of God and worthy of going to heaven. But it is for those who willingly have chosen to be committed disciples of the Lord, to live in obedience to His Word, and are even willing to pay a price for doing so. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार से प्रभु परमेश्वर ने फसह को इस्राएलियों के लिए एक वार्षिक पर्व में परिवर्तित किया था; और उसी प्रकार से प्रभु यीशु ने भी प्रभु-भोज को अपने शिष्यों के लिए एक यादगार के लिए स्थापित किया था, जिससे कि वे सदा मानव-जाति के उद्धार के लिए दिए गए प्रभु के बलिदान, उसकी मृत्यु, गाड़े जाने, और जी उठने को स्मरण करते रहें। यही प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने का प्राथमिक उद्देश्य है - कि परमेश्वर की सन्तान हमेशा इस बात को याद करते रहें और इसके बारे में अपनी याददाश्त को हमेशा ताज़ा रखें कि उनका छुटकारा केवल परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से, कलवरी के क्रूस पर प्रभु यीशु द्वारा दिए गए बलिदान और मृतकों में से उसके पुनरुत्थान के कारण हुआ है। यह उनके किसी धार्मिकता के कार्यों के द्वारा नहीं है, न तो उनका कोई भी कार्य या कोई भी बात उनको उद्धार देने पाई थी और ना ही कभी दे सकती थी। जब तक परमेश्वर की सन्तान इसे निरन्तर स्मरण नहीं रखेंगे, और अपने जीवन इस मूल बात पर केन्द्रित करके नहीं जीएँगे, तो शैतान उन्हें भरमा और बहका कर स्व-धार्मिकता, घमण्ड, और अपने आप को औरों से बेहतर तथा अधिक उच्च समझने वाला बना देगा, बहुत बड़ी हानि में ले जाएगा। आज हम प्रभु की बलिदानी मृत्यु और उसके पुनरुत्थान को याद करते रहने के महत्व के बारे में कुछ और बातें देखेंगे।

        पतरस ने अपनी दूसरी पत्री में कहा है कि वह जानता है कि उसके संसार से जाने का समय आ गया है, लेकिन यह होने से पहले वह उन बातों की जो उसने सिखाई हैं, एक यादगार छोड़ कर जाएगा, ताकि वे लोग हमेशा उन्हें याद करते रह सकें (2 पतरस 1:12-15)। प्रभु यीशु ने हमें प्रभु भोज दिया, जिससे कि हम उसके बलिदान को जिसके द्वारा हम छुड़ाए और पापों से बचाए गए, को याद करते रह सकें। लेकिन क्योंकि परमेश्वर के लोगों ने स्वयं परमेश्वर के वचन और उसके निर्देशों को पढ़ना और सीखना छोड़ दिया है, इसलिए शैतान बड़ी चालाकी से, बहुत हल्के से इस यादगार को एक रीति, एक परंपरा में परिवर्तित करने में सफल रहा है, और उसकी शैतानी चालों ने बाइबल के विरुद्ध की यह बात लोगों के मनों में बहुत गहराई से बसा दी है कि प्रभु भोज केवल एक यादगार नहीं है, लेकिन इसमें भाग लेने से लोग प्रभु के जन हो जाते हैं, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य तथा स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के योग्य हो जाते हैं। यह गलत धारणा बहुत गहराई से लोगों के मनों में बैठ चुकी है और उनके अंदर से इसको निकाल बाहर करना, इसे हटा पाना बहुत कठिन हो गया है क्योंकि लोग अपने उन धार्मिक अगुवों की सुनने और मानने में अधिक विश्वास रखते हैं, जिन्होंने इस अनुचित और गलत धारणा को उन्हें दिया है, बजाए स्वयं परमेश्वर के वचन को पढ़ने, सत्य को सीखने और उसका पालन करने के।

        परमेश्वर घमण्ड को कतई सहन नहीं करता है, और प्रधान स्वर्ग-दूत, लूसिफर, अपने घमण्ड ही के कारण स्वर्ग से निकाला और गिराया गया, शैतान बँ गया। और इसीलिए वह आज भी लोगों से परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करवा के, उन्हें विभिन्न विधियों से किसी न किसी प्रकार के घमण्ड में डाल कर - चाहे वह धर्मी और धार्मिक होने का, परमेश्वर के वचन की समझ-बूझ रखने का, वचन का प्रचार करने का, इत्यादि का घमण्ड ही क्यों न  हो, परमेश्वर के लोगों को परमेश्वर की वास्तविक संगति, सहभागिता, और आशीषों से दूर रखता है; और वे धोखे में यही समझते रहते हैं कि अपने कर्मों के कारण वे धर्मी और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हैं। परन्तु प्रभु-भोज के द्वारा जब व्यक्ति अपने पूर्णतः अयोग्य होने, और केवल परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह और प्रभु यीशु की बलिदानी मृत्यु तथा पुनरुत्थान के आधार पर परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने को याद करता तथा ध्यान रखता है, तो यह उसे विनम्र बनाता है, और वह शैतान द्वारा घमण्ड में गिराए जाने से सुरक्षित हो जाता है, तथा परमेश्वर की वास्तविक संगति, सहभागिता, और आशीषों के साथ जुड़ा रहता है।

Exodus 12:14 - The Lord’s Table - A Memorial (2)

 

       In the previous article we had seen how the Passover was made an annual memorial feast for the Israelites by the Lord God; and similarly, the Lord Jesus established the Lord's Supper as a memorial for His disciples to keep remembering His sacrifice, His death, burial and resurrection for the redemption of mankind. This is the primary purpose of participating in the Holy Communion - that the children of God should keep recalling and refreshing their memories that they have been redeemed only by the grace of God through faith in the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus on the Cross of Calvary and His resurrection. No works of any righteousness, or any other thing had ever redeemed them or could ever redeem them and reconcile them with God. Unless God's children always keep this in mind, and live their lives centered on this basic fact, Satan will mislead them into assuming and trusting that their salvation is the result of something that they have done; and then carry them away into a life of self-righteousness, pride, and having an attitude of thinking themselves to be better or superior than others, and take them away into a great loss. Today, we will continue looking into the importance of always keeping the sacrificial death and resurrection of the Lord in mind.

        Peter says in his second letter that he knows that he will shortly be departing from this world, but before doing so, he will leave behind a reminder of the things he has taught, so that they can always be reminded of them (2 Peter 1:12-15). The Lord Jesus gave us the Holy Communion to remember his sacrifice that redeemed and saved us from our sins. But because God’s people have stopped studying and learning God’s Word and instructions for themselves, Satan has subtly and very cunningly managed to turn the this memorial observance into a ritual, and deviously has deeply planted into the hearts of people the unBiblical idea that participating in the Communion is not just a memorial, but it is what makes them God’s people, makes them acceptable to God, and worthy of entering heaven; an idea that has become very hard to remove and dispel, since they would rather listen to and obey their religious leaders who have given them this false impression, than study God’s Word and learn the truth for themselves.

        God does not tolerate pride at all, and it was because of pride that the Arch-Angel Lucifer was thrown out and fell to become Satan. It is for this reason that even today he keeps making people disobey God, and in one way or another make them fall into some kind of pride - it may even be the pride of being religious and righteous, of having an understanding and knowledge of God's Word, of being able to preach from and about God's Word, etc., and by this he keeps people away from the actual fellowship, communion, and blessings of God; while the people falsely keep thinking that because of their works, they are righteous and acceptable to God. But in participating in the Lord's Table, when a person remembers his unworthiness, and that he is made acceptable to God only by the grace of God because of the sacrificial death and resurrection of the Lord, it humbles him, and is made safe from being misled and being made to fall into pride by Satan. This ensures his truly being in fellowship, communion, and receiving the blessings of God.

        As we have seen earlier, participating in the Holy Communion is not a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to be committed disciples of the Lord, to live in obedience to His Word, and are even willing to pay a price for doing so. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.
