चार महीने से कुछ पहले हमने बाइबल अध्ययन की इस श्रृंखला, जिसका शीर्षक है “आशीषित एवं सफल जीवन,” और जो 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 पर आधारित है, को आरंभ किया था। उस समय इस खण्ड से संबंधित हाथ में जो नोट्स थे उनके आधार पर ऐसा लगा था, कि यह श्रृंखला कुछ ही लेखों में; संभवतः जो 8-10 से अधिक नहीं होंगे, समाप्त हो जाएगी। इस की तो कल्पना भी नहीं की थी कि यह प्रभु के हाथों में दी गई पाँच रोटियों और दो मछलियों के समान हो जाएगा। जैसे-जैसे हम आगे बढ़ते गए, परमेश्वर ने हमारी आँखों, हृदयों, और बुद्धि को अपने वचन के इतने अद्भुत और विस्मयकारी सत्यों के लिए खोला कि उन के कारण हम बहुधा अभिभूत हुए और दिल में कँपकँपी भर गई। परमेश्वर ने हमारी आँखों को कितनी ही मानवीय बुद्धि के अनुसार गढ़ी हुई बातों की वास्तविकता की ओर खोला, जिन्हें हम बाइबल के सत्य और तथ्य समझते आ रहे थे; और हमारे समान कई अन्य लोग आज भी ऐसा ही कर रहे हैं। अब तक हम मेरे हाथों में उन आरम्भिक नोट्स में लिखे हुए बिंदुओं का लगभग आधा भाग तय कर चुके हैं, और अभी भी लगभग हर लेख में परमेश्वर अपने वचन के गहरे भेद और भी प्रकट कर रहा है। आइए, और आगे बढ़ने से पहले, जो अभी तक हमने सीखा है, उसका एक संक्षिप्त पुनःअवलोकन कर लेते हैं।

राजा दाऊद, अपने देहान्त से पहले, 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में अपने युवा पुत्र सुलैमान को निर्देश दे रहा है; सुलैमान, अभी हाल ही में, परमेश्वर की इच्छा में राजा नियुक्त हुआ है (1 इतिहास 28:5; 29:1)। दाऊद सुलैमान को निर्देश दे रहा है कि यद्यपि परमेश्वर ने उसे राजा बनाया है, लेकिन उसे किसी भी बात को यूँ ही हलके में नहीं लेना है। उसे सीखने की आवश्यकता है कि कैसे जीवन जिए, परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह में बढ़े और उन्नति पाए, और अपने राज्य में आशीषित, सफल, और सुरक्षित रहे।

अपने जीवन काल में दाऊद बहुत साहसी व्यक्ति, और एक माना हुआ योद्धा था। उसके चारों के राजाओं और राज्यों में हिम्मत नहीं थी कि, जब तक वह सिंहासन पर था, राज्य कर रहा था, उस के साथ किसी भी प्रकार की कोई छेड़-छाड़ करें; उसके समय में इस्राएल राज्य में शान्ति रही (1 इतिहास 22:18; 23:25)।

लेकिन उसका उत्तराधिकारी, सुलैमान, युवा था और युद्ध कौशल में तथा शासन कला में अनुभवहीन था, जैसा कि उसने स्वयं ही स्वीकार किया था (1 राजाओं 3:7)। इसलिए चारों के राज्यों और दाऊद तथा इस्राएल के शत्रुओं के पास, दाऊद के देहान्त के बाद यह प्रलोभन हो सकता था कि जो वे दाऊद के साथ और उसके रहते इस्राएल के साथ नहीं कर सके, वह सुलैमान के साथ करें और अपना बदला उतार लें।

इसीलिए, दाऊद सुलैमान को निर्देश देता है कि एक “आशीषित एवं सफल जीवन” जीने के लिए, अर्थात जयवन्त रहने के लिए, उसे एक विशेष रीति से जीवन जीना होगा। दाऊद ने अपने जीवन काल में परमेश्वर के साथ अपने अनुभवों से जो सीखा था, उसके आधार पर दाऊद, सुलैमान से कहता है कि उसे परमेश्वर पर पूर्णतः निर्भर, उसका पूर्णतः आज्ञाकारी, और उस पर पूर्णतः भरोसा रखने वाला होना होगा, और केवल परमेश्वर को ही अपनी सुरक्षा बनाए रखना होगा। यह संभव हो पाने के लिए उसे इन चार बातों का निर्वाह करना होगा:

1. "तू हियाव बांधकर पुरुषार्थ दिखा" (1 राजाओं 2:2)।

2. "जो कुछ तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने तुझे सौंपा है, उसकी रक्षा कर के उसके मार्गों पर चला करना", अर्थात, परमेश्वर ने जो कुछ उसे सौंपा है, उसका योग्य भण्डारी बने (1 राजाओं 2:3a)।

3. परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी सभी बातों का आज्ञाकारी बना रहे (1 राजाओं 2:3b)।

4. अपने सम्पूर्ण हृदय और सम्पूर्ण प्राण से, सच्चाई के साथ, हमेशा परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित और खरा बना रहे (1 राजाओं 2:4b)।  

 

यही चारों निर्देश प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी पर भी, उनके मसीही जीवनों में जयवन्त और सफल होने, तथा परमेश्वर की आशीषों के सम्भागी होने के लिए, लागू होते हैं। यह इन अन्त के दिनों में और भी आवश्यक है, जब हम विभिन्न तरीकों से अपने जीवनों के हर पक्ष में निरन्तर शैतानी हमलों का सामना कर रहे हैं। इस श्रृंखला में हमने इन्हीं चार सिद्धान्तों को लिया है ताकि एक प्रतिबद्ध मसीही जीवन को, जो परमेश्वर को महिमा देता है और हमारे अपने जीवनों में आशीषें लाता है, जी कर दिखा सकें।

अपने बाइबल अध्ययन में अभी हम इनमें से दूसरे सिद्धान्त, "जो कुछ तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने तुझे सौंपा है, उसकी रक्षा कर के उसके मार्गों पर चला करना" (1 राजाओं 2:3a), अर्थात, परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान की गई हर बात का भला भण्डारी होने के बारे में लगभग आधा देख चुके हैं। प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर ने न केवल उद्धार दिया है, बल्कि उद्धार के साथ ही कम से कम चार अन्य बातें भी अवश्य ही दी हैं। ये चार बातें हैं:

• उसका वचन

• उसकी पवित्र आत्मा

• उसकी कलीसिया तथा उसके बच्चों की संगति

• हमारी सेवकाई के लिए कोई न कोई आत्मिक वरदान

अपने बाइबल अध्ययन में इस समय हम मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई बातों का भण्डारी होने को देख रहे हैं, और पिछले लेख तक हमने परमेश्वर के वचन का, तथा पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी होने के बारे में देखा है। अभी तक हमने जो सीखा है उसके पुनःअवलोकन के कुछ लेखों के बाद हम अपने बाइबल अध्ययन को फिर से आरंभ करेंगे, और मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर की कलीसिया का तथा परमेश्वर के बच्चों के साथ संगति का भण्डारी होने के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Recapitulation – 1

Over four months ago, we had started on this series of Bible studies titled “Blessed and Successful Life,” based on 1 Kings 2:2-4. As it had seemed then, based on the notes I had in hand on this passage, it had seemed that the series would be completed in a few articles; quite likely not more than 8-10. It was beyond any imagination that this would turn out to be something like the five loaves and two fishes in the hands of the Lord. As we went along, God opened our eyes, heart, and mind to such awesome, stupendous truths from His Word, that it often overwhelmed us and brought trepidation to our hearts. God opened our eyes to so many humanly contrived things that we had been accepting and believing as Biblical truths and facts; and like us, so many others are still doing the same. Now we are about half-way into the points that I had in those initial notes, and God is still revealing more and deeper truths in nearly every article. Let us recapitulate what we have learnt so far, before proceeding any further.

In 1 Kings 2:2-4, King David, before his death, is instructing his young son, Solomon, who has recently been crowned as King of Israel, in the will of God (1 Chronicles 28:5; 29:1). David is instructing Solomon, though made a King by God, yet he should not take things for granted. He needs to learn about how to live, grow and prosper in God's favor, and be blessed, safe and successful in his reign.

David during his lifetime had been a very courageous person, a well-known warrior. The surrounding kings and kingdoms did not have the guts to meddle with him in any manner, while he was on the throne, ruling Israel; in his time there was peace in the kingdom of Israel (1 Chronicles 22:18; 23:25).

But his successor, Solomon, was young and inexperienced, in war as well as statesmanship, as he himself had acknowledged (1 Kings 3:7). Therefore, the surrounding kingdoms and the enemies of David and Israel, after David's demise, could easily be tempted to think of taking their revenge and do to Solomon what they could not do to David.

Therefore, David instructs Solomon that to lead a “Blessed and Successful Life,” i.e., to remain victorious, he needs to live and function in a particular manner. From what David had learnt through his life-experiences with God, David instructs Solomon that he has to remain totally trusting, obedient and dependent upon God, and to let God alone be his security. For this to happen, he must do the following 4 things:

1. To "be strong and prove yourself a man." (1 Kings 2:2).

2. To "keep the charge of the Lord God", i.e. to be a good Steward of whatever God has given to him (1 Kings 2:3a).

3. To be obedient to the Word of God, in all things written in it. (1 Kings 2:3b).

4. To be careful, taking heed, to remain sincere and committed to the Lord always (1 Kings 2:4b).

The same 4 instructions apply to every Christian Believer, for their being victorious and successful in their Christian lives, and being partakers of God's blessings. This is all the more necessary in these end times when we are facing the relentless attacks of satanic forces in various ways, and in every aspect of our lives. In this series, we have used these 4 principles to learn about living a committed Christian life that glorifies God, and brings blessings to our lives.

So far, in our Bible study we are about half-way through the second principle, i.e., "keep the charge of the Lord God", i.e. be a good Steward of whatever God has given (1 Kings 2:3a). To every Believer, God has not only given salvation, but at the very least, along with the salvation has also given the following four things:

• His Word

• His Holy Spirit

• His Church and Fellowship of His Children

• Some Gift of the Holy Spirit for our ministry

In our Bible study we are presently considering the Christian Believer being a steward of his God given provisions. While considering various aspects of our stewardship as Born-Again Christian Believers, till the last article we have seen about being stewards of God’s Word, and God’s Holy Spirit, so far. After having recapitulated what we have learnt so far in a few articles, we will take up and carry on with the Bible study; starting from the Believer being a steward of God’s Church and of fellowshipping with God’s children.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसके उद्धार पाने के पल से ही परमेश्वर के द्वारा स्वतः ही दे दिया जाता है। उसके बाद से वह उसका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक बनकर मसीही विश्वासी में आजीवन निवास करता है। पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी के मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई का निर्वाह करने में, उस की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करता है, ताकि विश्वासी उसका एक योग्य भण्डारी हो सके। विश्वासी का शिक्षक होने के नाते, अन्य बातों के अतिरिक्त, पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर का वचन भी सिखाता है, यदि विश्वासी उस से सीखने के लिए तैयार हो, तो। दुर्भाग्यवश, बहुतेरे विश्वासी परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने के लिए पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए, मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं पर अधिक निर्भर करते हैं - बिना परमेश्वर के वचन से उन बातों और शिक्षाओं को बारीकी से जाँचे-परखे, बिना उन की पुष्टि किए, उन्हें मान लेते हैं। और क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध नहीं है, सभी से चूक होती है, इसीलिए लोग मनुष्यों से बहुत सी गलत बातें भी सीख लेते हैं। 

हम पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं, और इस विषय की विभिन्न बातों को हमने 1 पतरस 2:1-2, फिर भजन 25, से देखा है, और अब 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से देख रहे हैं। इस खण्ड के पद 12 पर विचार करने के बाद, पिछले लेख से हमने पद 13 को देखना आरंभ किया है। हमने पिछले लेख में इस पद के पहले वाक्यांश से देखा था कि परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दी गई बातों के बारे में सीखना प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी की ज़िम्मेदारी है। यह सीखना, विश्वासियों के लिए एक बुनियादी शिक्षा की बात है, क्योंकि उन्हें परमेश्वर के उन प्रावधानों का योग्य भण्डारी बनकर उन को उपयोग करना है। पिछले लेख में हम ने जहाँ छोड़ा था, उस से आगे पद 13 में दी गई बातों तथा अन्य स्थानों पर दी गई सम्बन्धित बातों को समझने के लिए यह जानना और समझना अनिवार्य है कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों से किस प्रकार बोलता है और उसका व्यावहारिक उपयोग क्या है।

सम्पूर्ण पवित्र शास्त्र में, परमेश्वर अपने लोगों से अपने प्रतिनिधियों में होकर बोलता रहा है। परमेश्वर अपने चुने हुए लोगों, जैसे कि भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और प्रेरितों से विभिन्न तरीकों से बात करता था, और फिर वे लोग परमेश्वर की बात को परमेश्वर के लोगों तक पहुँचाते थे; मौखिक, तथा लिखित, दोनों ही प्रकार से। इन में से कुछ लिखित संदेश पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा और मार्गदर्शन से संकलित कर के पवित्र शास्त्र के रूप में रखे गए हैं। यह पवित्र शास्त्र एक अपरिवर्तनीय, सदा काल के लिए स्थापित, अटल, माप-दण्ड है, जिस से किसी भी मनुष्य के द्वारा कही गई भी बात की, परमेश्वर द्वारा कही गई बात के साथ तुलना के द्वारा, जाँच-परख कर के जाँचा जा सकता है। प्रभु यीशु के आगमन से पहले के संदेशों के संकलन को यहूदियों का पवित्र शास्त्र कहा जाता था, जो आज हमारी बाइबलों का पुराना नियम है। प्रभु यीशु के आगमन के बाद प्रेरितों तथा परमेश्वर के अन्य लोगों के संदेशों के संकलन को नया नियम कहते हैं, और नया तथा पुराना नियम साथ मिलकर बाइबल बनाते हैं। इन बातों को जानना और ध्यान में रखना बहुत आवश्यक है, यह समझने के लिए कि पवित्र आत्मा किस तरह से विश्वासियों को वचन सिखाता है, और शैतान किस रीति से झूठी शिक्षाएँ ले आता है।

परमेश्वर ने पहले कुछ लोगों को चुनकर पृथक किया, कि उनके द्वारा अपने लोगों तक अपने संदेश पहुँचाए (इफिसियों 4:11-12), और फिर पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा से, इन नबियों, प्रेरितों, और अन्य लोगों में होकर दिए गए अपने संदेशों को लिखवाया भी (2 पतरस 1:21; 2 तीमुथियुस 3:16)। प्रभु यीशु के, तथा उन चुने हुए लोगों के द्वारा दिए गए ये निर्देश और शिक्षाएँ (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:11; इफिसियों 2:20) हमें बाइबल के रूप में, हमारी शिक्षा के लिए दी गई हैं (रोमियों 15:4; 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:6)। ये ही वह अचूक, अटल, अपरिवर्तनीय, कभी गलत ने होने वाले, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्ग में स्थापित (भजन 119:89) परमेश्वर का वचन, बाइबल है। परमेश्वर मनुष्यों से जो भी कहना चाहता है, मनुष्य के जीवन, उद्धार, परमेश्वर के साथ संगति, परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होने, और परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने से संबंधित जो भी बात है, वह परमेश्वर ने अपने इस वचन में मनुष्यों को दे दी है (2 पतरस 1:3)। 

बाइबल सम्पूर्ण है; उसमें कुछ नहीं जोड़ा जा सकता है, उसमें से कुछ हटाया नहीं जा सकता है, उसमें लिखे को ‘सुधारा’ या “और सुन्दर” नहीं किया जा सकता है, और उससे संबंधित कोई नए प्रकटीकरण नहीं होंगे। अब, परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को जो कुछ भी सिखाता है, वह परमेश्वर द्वारा बाइबल में कही और दी गई बातों के अन्तर्गत ही होता है, किसी भी रीति से उसके बाहर कदापि नहीं; क्योंकि इसका तात्पर्य होगा कि उस से पहले वाला संस्करण पूर्ण और सिद्ध नहीं था; उसमें कुछ त्रुटियाँ थीं। इसीलिए परमेश्वर ने उसके वचन में कुछ भी जोड़ने या घटाने को वर्जित किया है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19); तथा प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने पवित्र आत्मा के सेवकाई के लिए कहा है कि पवित्र आत्मा जो पहले से कह दिया गया है, उसे ही स्मरण करवाएगा (यूहन्ना 14:26) और वह अपनी ओर से कुछ भी नया नहीं कहेगा, परन्तु प्रभु द्वारा कहे हुए में से लेकर शिष्यों को बताएगा (यूहन्ना 16:13-15), और इस तरह से उन का समस्त सत्य में मार्गदर्शन करेगा।

इसलिए ऐसी कोई भी बात जो पवित्र शास्त्र में पहले से ही नहीं कही गई है, वह परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं हो सकती है, बाइबल से नहीं हो सकती है, बाइबल का सत्य नहीं हो सकती है, वह चाहे कितनी भी आकर्षक, तर्कसंगत, भक्तिपूर्ण तथा श्रद्धापूर्ण क्यों न प्रतीत हो। किसी भी नई बात अथवा शिक्षा के परमेश्वर अथवा पवित्र आत्मा से प्राप्त होने के दावे, सिवाए झूठ के और कुछ नहीं हो सकते हैं, और प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उन्हें, शैतानी होने के कारण, तुरन्त ही अस्वीकार कर देना चाहिए (गलातियों 1:7-9)। जैसा हमने पहले, जब हम विश्वासियों के परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्डारी होने के बारे में देख रहे थे तब, देखा था, शैतान द्वारा बहुधा उपयोग की जाने वाली एक और युक्ति है कि लोगों द्वारा, परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित विश्वासियों के द्वारा भी, बाइबल से शब्द और वाक्यांश लेकर, उन्हें उस अभिप्राय और तरीके से उपयोग करना, जैसा उनके विषय बाइबल में नहीं लिखा और दिया गया है, और न ही उस अर्थ या अभिप्राय के साथ कभी उपयोग किया गया है। दूसरे शब्दों में, शैतान परमेश्वर के लोगों को वचन में लिखे हुए से आगे बढ़ा देता है, और इस तरह से पवित्र शास्त्र का झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धान्तों के प्रचार और प्रसार के लिए दुरुपयोग करवाता है, चाहे वह अनजाने में और भक्ति तथा श्रद्धा की गलतफहमी में फँसा कर ही क्यों न करवाए।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 22

God the Holy Spirit is automatically given to every Christian Believer by God, at the moment of his salvation. From then on, He resides lifelong in the Believer to be his Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide. The Holy Spirit helps the Believer in living his Christian life and fulfil his God assigned ministry, so that the Believer can be a worthy steward of the Holy Spirit. As the Believer’s Teacher, the Holy Spirit, besides other things, teaches God’s Word to him, provided the Believer is willing to learn from Him. Unfortunately, many Believers, instead of the Holy Spirit, tend to rely on men and their works to learn God’s Word - without first minutely cross-checking and affirming them from God’s Word, they believe and accept them. Since no man is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes, therefore often people learn incorrect things from men. 

We have been learning about learning from the Holy Spirit, and have seen various aspects of this from 1 Peter 2:1-2, then from Psalm 25, and now are learning from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14. Having considered verse 12, since the last article, we have started to consider verse 13 of this passage. In the last article we have seen from the first phrase of this verse that it is every Christian Believer’s responsibility to learn about the things that God has freely given to him. This learning is a basic requirement for the Believers, since they have to use the God given provisions in their Christian lives and ministry, to be their worthy stewards. Before carrying on from where we left, and see further about the Believer having to learn about God’s provisions, today we will first see how God speaks to His people and its practical application. It is essential to be clear about this for the further understanding of things mentioned in verse 13 and other places.

Throughout the Scriptures, God’s method of speaking to His people is through His spokesmen. God would speak to His chosen people, e.g., the Prophets and the Apostles in various ways, and they would then convey God’s messages to God’s people; orally, as well as in the written form. Some of these written messages have been compiled together under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as the Scriptures. The Scriptures are a standard, unalterable, permanently established reference for cross-checking and evaluating everything said and taught by any person; by comparing man’s words with what God has said about that and its related thing. Before the coming of the Lord Jesus, the earlier God given messages had been compiled together as the Hebrew Scriptures, which we have as the Old Testament in our Bibles. The writings of the Apostles and other messengers of God after the coming of the Lord Jesus are the New Testament writings, and together, the Old and New Testaments form the Bible. It is very essential to know and keep in mind these concepts, to understand how the Holy Spirit teaches God’s Word to the Believers, and how Satan brings in false teachings.

God first chose and set apart certain people to convey His messages to His people (Ephesians 4:11-12), and then through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, had these Prophets, Apostles, and others write down the messages that God had given through these chosen persons (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16). These instructions and teachings of the Lord, and those conveyed through the chosen people (1 Corinthians 3:11; Ephesians 2:20) have been given to us as the Bible for our learning (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:6). They form the incontrovertible, irrevocable, infallible, inerrant, eternal Word of God, forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89), God’s Word the Bible. Anything and everything that God wanted to convey to man, everything required for man’s life, salvation, fellowshipping with God, functioning for God, and for pleasing God, has been given by God to mankind in this Word (2 Peter 1:3). 

The Bible is complete; there can be no additions to it, no subtractions from it, no modifications or “beautification” of its contents, and there can be no newer revelations about it; else it will imply that the earlier version was imperfect, and had some errors or short-comings in it. Now, everything that God teaches His people, always falls within what has already been spoken and given in the Bible; never outside it. Therefore, God has forbidden any additions or subtractions to His Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19); and the Lord Jesus said for the ministry of the Holy Spirit, that the Holy Spirit will remind of what has already been spoken (John 14:26) and He will not say any new thing on His own authority, but will take from what he Lord has already spoken and declare them to the Lord’s disciples (John 16:13-15), and thereby guide them into all truth.

Therefore, anything that is not already stated in the Scriptures, cannot be from God, cannot be Biblical and Biblically true; no matter how appealing, logical, pious, and reverential it may appear. Any claims of any new revelations or teachings from God, or given by the Holy Spirit cannot be anything but false, and every Christian Believer should reject them outright, as being from Satan (Galatians 1:7-9). As we have seen earlier, while considering stewardship of God’s Word, another very common ploy that Satan uses is to get people, even God’s committed Believers, to take words and phrases from the Bible, but use them in a manner and with meanings not given about them in the Bible, nor have they ever been used anywhere in the Bible in that manner or with that implication. In other words, Satan makes God’s people go beyond what has been written in the Scriptures about those words and phrases, and misuses the Scriptures to spread false teachings and wrong doctrines, even though seemingly inadvertently and under the misunderstanding of being pious and reverential.

It is absolutely essential for every Christian Believer to ponder over these Biblical facts and have them firmly established in themselves; else they will be misled by Satan to misuse and misinterpret God’s Word. In the next article, while considering the next phrase of 1 Corinthians 2:13, we will utilize these Biblical principles to understand what God the Holy Spirit is saying to us through Paul.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

मसीही विश्वासी, उद्धार पाने के क्षण से, परमेश्वर के पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर हो जाते हैं (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), और उसी क्षण से पवित्र आत्मा उनमें जीवन भर निवास करने के लिए प्रदान कर दिया जाता है। उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा उनके मसीही जीवन जीने और उन्हें परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई को योग्य रीति से करने में उनका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है। इसलिये उन्हें, उनमें निवास करने वाले पवित्र आत्मा का योग्य भण्डारी होना है। यद्यपि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, उन्हें परमेश्वर का वचन सिखाने के लिए, उन में विद्यमान है, फिर भी अधिकाँश मसीही वचन को सीखने के लिए अन्य मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं की ओर मुड़ जाते हैं। इसका मुख्य कारण है पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए यत्न से प्रयास करने की, उसके प्रति एक अनुशासन, समर्पण, और आज्ञाकारिता की आवश्यकता का होना। और सामान्यतः लोग इस बात को करने के लिए तैयार नहीं होते हैं; इसलिए वे आसान तरीका अपना लेते हैं। लोग यह मान लेते हैं कि वे मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से भी उतनी ही अच्छी रीति से सीख सकते हैं। 

क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध नहीं है, और न ही अचूक है, इसलिए जो मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करने और उन्हीं से सीखने पर अड़े रहते हैं, वे लोग झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धान्तों में पड़ जाने के बहुत बड़े और वास्तविक जोखिम में बने रहते हैं। क्योंकि सामान्यतः यह सीखना उन शिक्षकों और प्रचारकों के प्रति अन्ध-विश्वास रखते हुए, और परमेश्वर के निर्देशों (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21) की अनदेखी करते हुए होता है। अर्थात्, उन शिक्षाओं को बिना बाइबल से जाँचे-परखे और उनकी पुष्टि किए हुए ही स्वीकार कर लेने और मान लेने के साथ किया जाता है। इस प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाओं का एक सामान्य उदाहरण है लोगों के द्वारा ज़ोर देकर बाइबल के शब्दों और वाक्यांशों का बाइबल से बाहर की रीति से उपयोग करना, अर्थात, ऐसे अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ, जैसे उन शब्दों और वाक्यांशों के लिये बाइबल में कहीं नहीं दिया गया है।

लेकिन एक अन्य बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य पर भी ध्यान कीजिए, इन ढीठ विश्वासियों के जीवनों में भी, जो स्वयं भी ढिठाई के साथ गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ते हैं तथा औरों को भी उन को मानने और पालन करने के लिए कहते हैं, उन के जीवनों में भी परमेश्वर का प्रेम और अनुग्रह कार्यकारी रहता है। उनकी गलती के बावजूद, बाइबल में उन्हें कभी भी ‘अविश्वासी’ नहीं कहा गया है, और उन से परमेश्वर की सँतान होने का उनका ओहदा कभी वापस नहीं लिया गया है। यद्यपि उन्हें अपरिपक्व, बच्चों के समान, शारीरिक, आदि तो कहा गया है, लेकिन फिर भी उन्हें विश्वासी ही समझा गया है; ऐसे मसीही जिन्हें इन गलतियों से बाहर निकल कर उन्नति करने की आवश्यकता है। परमेश्वर कभी किसी को न छोड़ता है और न त्यागता है (इब्रानियों 13:5)।

हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है कि यदि ये मसीही अपने आप को सुधारने से इनकार करते हैं, और ढीठ बनकर मनुष्यों और मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं से ही सीखने में बने रहते हैं, तो वे पवित्र आत्मा से परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने में अपने लिए गंभीर बाधाएँ खड़ी कर लेते हैं। फिर पवित्र आत्मा उन्हें ‘अन्न’ या ‘ठोस भोजन’ नहीं देने पाता है, क्योंकि वे न तो उसे ग्रहण कर सकते हैं, और न ही पचा सकते हैं। इसलिए वह उन्हें अपरिपक्व, शारीरिक मसीहियों, आत्मिक शिशुओं और बच्चों का ही भोजन, अर्थात ‘दूध’ – आधारभूत आरंभिक शिक्षाएँ ही देता रहता है। ये छः आरंभिक शिक्षाएँ इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई हैं, और पश्चाताप से आरंभ कर के अंतिम न्याय तक की, मसीही जीवन के सम्पूर्ण वर्णक्रम के बारे में हैं। 

इसका निहितार्थ और व्यावहारिक बात है कि जो लोग मनुष्यों और मनुष्यों के कार्यों का अनुसरण करने वाले हैं, और जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाओं में अपनी ही बुद्धि के विचार और अपनी ही गढ़ी हुई शिक्षाएँ मिलाते हैं, और फिर अपनी गढ़ी हुई बातों को परमेश्वर के वचन का सत्य कहकर प्रस्तुत करते हैं, तथा औरों से उन शिक्षाओं को स्वीकार करके उनका पालन करने के लिए कहते हैं, उन्हें केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा केवल ‘दूध’ ही दिया जाएगा, और वे औरों को भी दूध परोसने तक ही सीमित रहेंगे। दूसरे शब्दों में, वे लोग जो बाइबल से बाहर की शिक्षाओं के गढ़ने वाले, समर्थक, एवं पालन करने, तथा करवाने वाले होते हैं, उनका सीखना और सिखाना केवल इब्रानियों 6:1-2 के आरंभिक सिद्धान्तों तक ही सीमित रहेगा। जैसा कि प्रेरित पौलुस ने 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-3 में कहा है, वे बस शिशुओं और बच्चों के आहार ‘दूध’ ही को ग्रहण कर सकते हैं, और इसलिए उन्हें केवल ‘दूध’ ही दिया जाएगा; कोई अन्न अथवा ठोस वस्तु नहीं।

पहली झलक में यह दावा एक अतिशयोक्ति, एक बढ़ा-चढ़ा कर कही गई बात प्रतीत होती है। ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि यह अच्छे से जाना जाता है कि बहुत सारे ऐसे विश्वासी, अगुवे, प्रचारक और शिक्षक हैं जो कि बाइबल की बातों को बाइबल से बाहर की रीति से उपयोग करने, सिखाने, और बढ़ावा देने की गलती में फँसे हुए हैं, उनके अनुयायी भी बहुत हैं, तथा वे बहुत प्रभावी संदेश भी देते हैं। न केवल उनके संदेशों को भली-भाँति स्वीकार किया जाता है, किन्तु बहुधा वे ‘पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में,’ अपने प्रचार और शिक्षाओं में ‘गूढ़ सत्य’ और ‘नए प्रकाशन’ भी प्रस्तुत करते रहते हैं। इस प्रतीत होने वाले विरोधाभास को समझने के लिए हमें इस तथ्य के प्रति जागरूक रहना चाहिए कि नया-जन्म पाए हुए नये विश्वासी, इन आरंभिक शिक्षाओं के बारे में जानते भी नहीं हैं। वे भी जो कुछ समय से मसीही विश्वासी हैं, उनमें से अधिकांश लोग भी इन आरम्भिक शिक्षाओं के प्रति अनभिज्ञ ही रहते हैं। साथ ही इन में से प्रत्येक आरम्भिक शिक्षा के साथ उसके कई अन्य पक्ष भी जुड़े हुए हैं, और इन सम्बन्धित पक्षों को भी वे विश्वासी सामान्यतः, नहीं जानते हैं। 

उदाहरण के लिए, इनमें से पहली शिक्षा, मरे हुए कामों से मन फिराना, को ही लीजिए, और उसके साथ जुड़े हुए परमेश्वर के प्रेम और अनुग्रह के बारे में सोचिए जो वह पाप में मरे हुए जन (इफिसियों 2:1) से करता है, मसीह के उद्धार देने वाले कार्य के बारे में, सुसमाचार और उसकी सामर्थ्य तथा प्रभावों, आदि, के बारे में सोचिए। और इसी प्रकार से प्रत्येक आरम्भिक शिक्षा के साथ भी की अन्य संबंधी बातें जुड़ी हुई हैं। अब, जो इन आरंभिक शिक्षाओं के बारे में जानते भी नहीं हैं, उनके लिए तो गलत शिक्षा में पड़े हुए उस अगुवे, प्रचारक और शिक्षक के द्वारा दी गई प्रत्येक ‘व्याख्या’, प्रत्येक मात्र सतह को खुरचना भर ही, ‘गूढ़ सत्यों’ को प्रकट करने के समान है, उनके लिए तो वे बातें ही परमेश्वर के वचन में से दिखाए गए ‘नया प्रकाशन’ हैं। किन्तु वास्तविकता में ये सभी ‘गूढ़ सत्य,’ और ‘नए प्रकाशन’ गलतियों में पड़े हुए उस अगुवे, प्रचारक और शिक्षक को पवित्र आत्मा से मिलने वाले ‘दूध’ का ही एक भाग हैं, जो उसने स्वयं भी ग्रहण किया तथा औरों को भी परोस दिया है; वे बातें वास्तव में कोई ‘ठोस भोजन’ या अन्न नहीं हैं। ध्यान से ऐसे प्रचारकों और शिक्षकों के प्रचार और शिक्षाओं के बारे में विश्लेषण करके देखिये, उन्हें समझिए। आप पाएंगे कि वे इन छः आरम्भिक शिक्षाओं और उनसे सम्बन्धित बातों की सीमाओं से कभी बाहर जाते ही नहीं हैं। उनके ‘दर्शन’ केवल इस आत्मिक ‘दूध’ तक ही सीमित रहते हैं। वे ‘दूध’ ही पीते हैं, और ‘दूध’ ही पिलाते रहते हैं। 

जैसा कि पिछले लेख में हमने देखा है, यदि कोई इब्रानियों 5:10-12 पर विचार करे तो यह प्रकट हो जाता है कि मसीही विश्वासियों से यह अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि वे इन आरंभिक शिक्षाओं की बातों से और आगे बढ़ेंगे, जिस से कि शिक्षक बनें, न कि इस आरंभिक स्तर पर ही अटके रहें। ज़रा उन महिमित बातों, प्रकाशनों, और अद्भुत, कल्पना से परे, वर्णन से बाहर स्वर्गीय दर्शनों के बारे में के बारे में सोचिए जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने अपने उन बच्चों के लिए तैयार कर के रखा है (1 कुरिन्थियों 2:9-10; 2 कुरिन्थियों 12:1-4)। और ये बातें उन्हें सीखने को मिलेंगी जो विश्वासी अपनी ढिठाई की बातों में से, तथा असिद्ध, गलती करने वाले मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से सीखना छोड़कर, अपने आप को पवित्र आत्मा के अधीन ले आएँगे, और उस से, जो वचन सिखाने के लिए उन्हें दिया गया है, अर्थात् पवित्र आत्मा से ही परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखेंगे। हम इस की एक झलक पौलुस के अद्भुत दर्शनों (2 कुरिन्थियों 12:1-7) में देखते हैं, जो मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाला नहीं (गलातियों 1:10) बल्कि परमेश्वर ही से सीखने के लिये प्रतिबद्ध था। लेकिन जो असिद्ध, गलती करने वाले मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से ही सीखने की ज़िद्द पर अड़े रहते हैं, वे यह अपेक्षा क्यों रखें कि पवित्र आत्मा उन्हें कुछ सिखाएगा, जब वे उसकी अधीनता में आने के लिए तैयार नहीं हैं; और न ही वे यत्न से प्रयास कर के उस से सीखने, उसकी बात स्वीकार करने, और उसके निर्देशों का पालन करने, उन्हें अपने जीवन में लागू करने के लिए तैयार हैं।

साथ ही, जैसा कि पवित्र आत्मा ने बाइबल में लिखवाया है, परमेश्वर के वचन में कुछ भी जोड़ने, या उस में से कुछ हटाने की अनुमति किसी को भी नहीं है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19)। इसलिए, सत्य का आत्मा होने के नाते, वह कभी भी किसी भी बाइबल से बाहर की शिक्षा, अथवा किसी भी असत्य अथवा झूठी शिक्षा का, उस के द्वारा दी गई शिक्षाओं में मिलाए जाने के साथ कभी सहमत नहीं होगा। इसलिए वह मनुष्य के विचारों और बुद्धि की बातों के बाइबल की बातों के साथ जोड़े जाने, और फिर इस मिली-जुली बात को परमेश्वर के सत्य के समान प्रस्तुत किए जाने का साथ तो कभी भी नहीं देगा। इसे थोड़ा गंभीरता से सोचिए, यदि यह परमेश्वर के वचन में मनुष्य की बातों की मिलावट करने की अनुमति हो, तो फिर यह एक शैतानी युक्ति होगी जो चालाकी से परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने, गलत व्याख्याओं और झूठी शिक्षाओं को सही ठहराने, और इस तरह से परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति सन्देह उत्पन्न करने और उसे विश्वास करने योग्य नहीं रहने देने, उसे अस्वीकार्य बनाने के लिए कार्यान्वित होगी।

अगले लेख से हम देखेंगे कि विश्वासी को किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना चाहिए जिस से कि वह उन्नति करे, परिपक्व हो, और एक जयवन्त जीवन जिए।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 9

 

Christian Believers become the Temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19) from the very moment of their salvation; and God’s Holy Spirit is given to them to reside in them throughout their lives. The Holy Spirit has been given to them to be their Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide, in their Christian living and for carrying out their God given ministries. Therefore, they are to be worthy stewards of the Holy Spirit, residing in them. Though God the Holy Spirit is with them to teach them God’s Word, yet most Christians turn to other men and their works to learn God’s Word. The main reason is because learning from the Holy Spirit requires a diligent effort with discipline, commitment, and obedience towards Him. Something, which people usually are unwilling to do; therefore, they take the easy way out of assuming that they can equally well learn from men and their works. 

But no man is perfect, nor is anyone infallible. Therefore those who insist on being followers of men and learning from men, remain highly prone to learning some false teachings and wrong doctrines. More so, since such learning is usually done in blind faith, and ignoring God’s instructions (Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:21), i.e., without cross-checking and verifying the teachings from God’s Word. One common example of these erroneous teachings is the emphatic use of Biblical words and phrases, in an unBiblical manner, i.e., with meanings and in the manner not given at all in the Bible about those words and phrases.

But take note of another very important fact, of the love and grace of God operative even for these recalcitrant people of God, who stubbornly not only themselves fall into, but also mislead others into believing, and following erroneous teachings. Despite their error, they have never been called ‘unbelievers’ in the Bible, and their status of being God’s children has never been revoked from them. Though they have been called immature, childish, carnal, etc., in the Bible, but they are still considered Believers; Christians who need to get out of these problems and grow up. God never gives up on, or abandons anyone (Hebrews 13:5).

We have seen in the last article that if these Christians fail to correct themselves and stubbornly insist on being followers of men and men’s teachings, then they severely restrict their learning of God's Word from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is then unable to give them ‘solid food,’ since they are incapable of receiving and digesting it. So, He continues to feed them with the food of immature, carnal Christians, the spiritual babies and children, i.e., ‘milk’ – the basic elementary principles. 

These six elementary principles are given in Hebrews 6:1-2, and starting from repentance, cover the whole spectrum of Christian life, up to eternal judgement. The implication, and practical application is that those who are followers of men and men’s works, and those who bring their own thoughts and contrived teachings into the actual teachings of God’s Word, then present them to others as truths from God’s Word, and ask others to accept and follow those teachings as God’s truth, they will only receive and will remain confined to receiving ‘milk’ from the Holy Spirit, and serving it to others. In other words, for the proponents of unBiblical teachings, as well as their followers, their learning and teachings will remain confined to the elementary principles of Hebrews 6:1-2. As the Apostle Paul has said in his letter to the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, all they can handle, and therefore all they will receive is milk, the food of babies; nothing solid.

This assertion, at first glance, is likely to be seen as an exaggeration, and overstatement. This is because there are many Believers, elders, preachers, and teachers who are caught up in the errors of using, teaching, and promoting Biblical terms in an unBiblical manner; they are well known to also have a large following, and they give impressive messages. Their messages are not only very well received and accepted, but they often seem to bring out seemingly ‘deeper truths’ and ‘newer expositions’ in their preaching and teachings; that too apparently, under the ‘guidance of the Holy Spirit.’ To understand this apparent contradiction, we need to remain aware of the fact that the newly Born-Again Christians, are not even aware of these elementary principles. Even those who have been Believers for some time, by far the vast majority of them still remain unaware of these basic principles. Moreover, each of these elementary principles also have numerous facets to them, and the new as well as the older Believers usually are not aware of these associated facets either. 

Take for example the first of these principles – repentance from dead works, and think of the associated aspects of God’s love and grace in the regeneration of those dead in their sins (Ephesians 2:1), of Christ’s work for salvation of mankind, of the gospel with its power and effects, etc.; and similarly there are various other aspects associated with every one of these elementary principles. Now, to those who are not even aware of these principles, every ‘exposition,’ every scratching of the surface of these principles will seem like bringing out ‘deeper truths,’ will be a new and fascinating revelation from God’s Word, being given by that errant elder, or preacher and teacher. But essentially, these ‘deeper truths,’ and ‘new revelations’ are only a component of the ‘milk’ that the errant elder, or preacher and teacher has received from the Holy Spirit and has passed on to others, and not any ‘solid food.’ Carefully examine, evaluate, analyse, and understand the preaching and teachings of such preachers and teachers. You will find that they never go beyond the six elementary principles and their related aspects. Their ‘visions’ remain confined only to the ‘spiritual milk.’ They drink this ‘milk,’ and they keep dispensing this ‘milk’ to others.

But when one ponders over Hebrews 5:10-12, as shown in the previous article, it becomes apparent that the Christian Believers are expected to rise higher, go beyond these elementary principles, to become ‘teachers’, and not remain stuck at this elementary stage. Just think of what glories, what revelations, what fascinating, unimaginable, indescribable heavenly visions God has kept available for those of His children (1 Corinthians 2:9-10; 2 Corinthians 12:1-4) who would stop being stubborn, would stop learning from imperfect, fallible men, subject themselves to the Holy Spirit, and make diligent efforts to learn God’s Word from Him, their actual Teacher, given to them for God for learning God’s Word. We get a glimpse of these magnificent glories from the experience of Paul (2 Corinthians 12:1-7), who was committed to learn only from God, and not be a man-pleaser (Galatians 1:10). But those who insist on learning from imperfect, fallible men and their works, why should they expect the Holy Spirit to teach them anything, when they are unwilling to submit to His authority, and be diligent to learn, accept, and apply His instructions in their lives?

Moreover, as the Holy Spirit has written in the Bible, no additions or subtractions to God’s Word are permissible (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). Therefore, being the Spirit of Truth, He will never agree to anything unBiblical or untrue or false to be mixed and served with His teachings. He will never go with any unBiblical things added to the Biblical teachings; least of all anything of human thoughts and wisdom to be added to God’s Word, and presented as God’s truth. Give it a serious thought, if this mixing of man’s teachings in God’s Word were to be permitted, then, this would be a subtle satanic way of corrupting God’s Word, of justifying the false interpretations and wrong teachings, and thereby creating grounds to create doubts about and to falsify God’s Word, make it unreliable and unacceptable.

From the next article we will start looking at how a Believer should start learning from God the Holy Spirit, to grow up and be mature, and to live an overcoming life.

I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हम इन गुणों और उद्देश्यों को संक्षेप में तीन स्थानों से देख और समझ सकते हैं:

• पौलुस ने तिमुथियुस को लिखा कि परमेश्वर के वचन को उसके निर्धारित उद्देश्यों, अर्थात् “उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिये” उपयोग करे। परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके वचन के बारे में निर्धारित इन चार उद्देश्यों में से कम से दो (समझाना और सुधारना – हिन्दी में कुछ हलके शब्द लिखे गए हैं, मूल भाषा और अंग्रेज़ी अनुवादों में प्रयोग किए गए शब्द अधिक कठोर हैं), नहीं तो तीन (धर्म की शिक्षा), ऐसे उद्देश्य हैं जिन्हें लोग उन पर लागू किया जाना पसंद नहीं करते हैं। और परमेश्वर के अधिकांश सेवक अपनी इस ज़िम्मेदारी का निर्वाह करने में बहुत संकोच भी करते हैं, कहीं कलीसिया के लोग बुरा न मान जाएँ। शेष बचे हुए उद्देश्य “धर्म की शिक्षा” के लिए भी अधिकांशतः परमेश्वर के वचन में दी गई शिक्षाओं की अवहेलना की जाती है, और उसे बदला जाता है, या उसके स्थान पर मनुष्यों की बनाई हुई बातें सिद्धांतों के समान सिखाई और लागू की जाती है। ये सभी परमेश्वर के वचन से आगे बढ़कर करने के उदाहरण हैं। जी शिक्षा और शिक्षक में ये गुण और उद्देश्य नहीं हैं, वह परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार खरी और सही भी नहीं है। और ऐसा भी नहीं है कि यह कहा जाए कि समय, स्थान और सभ्यता के अनुसार वचन को प्रासंगिक करना चाहिये। क्योंकि, जैसा कि हम देख चुके हैं, हमारे हाथों में जो वचन है, वह प्रभु यीशु का एक स्वरूप है (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14; प्रकाशितवाक्य 19:11-13), और यह वचन अटल है, स्वर्ग में अनंतकाल के लिये स्थापित है (भजन 119:89)। इसलिये इसमें कोई परिवर्तन या प्रासंगिक करने का कोई स्थान नहीं है, अन्यथा वह तो परमेश्वर प्रभु यीशु मसीह में परिवर्तन और संशोधन करने के समान हो जाएगा। 

• पौलुस ने 2 तिमुथियुस 4:2-5 में तिमुथियुस को ज़ोर देकर कहा कि वह दुःख उठाकर भी परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रचार करे, और अपनी सेवकाई को पूरा करने के लिए जहाँ आवश्यक हो वहाँ लोगों को समझाने और सिखाने के लिए डाँटने और उलाहना देने से पीछे न हटे। गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले शैतान के जन, परमेश्वर के वचन की सही और खरी शिक्षा देने के लिए यह कभी नहीं करेंगे, क्योंकि उनका उद्देश्य ही लोगों को सही से दूर और गलत में फँसाए रखना है; इसलिये वे केवल उन्हें प्रसन्न करने वाली बातें कहेंगे, कुछ ऐसा जो उन्हें अप्रसन्न करे, उसे कभी नहीं कहेंगे।

• नए नियम में, परमेश्वर के वचन को दो-धारी तलवार से भी अधिक तेज़ और चोखा कहा गया है (इब्रानियों 4:12), जो मनुष्य के भीतर तक जाकर “मन की भावनाओं और विचारों को जांचता है।” जिस प्रकार से तलवार का शरीर में घुसना और काटना पीड़ादायक होता है, उसी प्रकार से जब परमेश्वर का वचन पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन और सामर्थ्य में प्रचार किया जाता है, तो वह मनुष्य के हृदय को छेदता है, उसमें छिपे हुए पापमय विचारों और बातों को खोल देता है। हृदय या विवेक का यह छेदा जाना एक पीड़ादायक और उजागर कर देने वाला अनुभव होता है, जो केवल सही वचन के खराई से प्रचार किए जाने के साथ ही देखा जाता है, अन्यथा नहीं।

 

अब यदि किसी को परमेश्वर के वचन को “बेचना” या अपने लाभ के लिए उपयोग करना है, जैसा कि ये झूठे प्रचारक और शिक्षक करते हैं, तो फिर उन्हें उसे आकर्षक और मनुष्यों को भावता हुआ बना कर प्रस्तुत करना होगा, जिस से कि प्रचारक को प्रशंसा भी मिले और उसकी अच्छी कमाई भी हो। इसके लिए उसे परमेश्वर के वचन में “उपयुक्त” फेर-बदल भी करने होंगे ताकि वह फिर तलवार के समान गहराई से छेदने और उजागर करने वाला न रहे; और न ही वह प्रचारक लोगों को सत्य का अनुसरण करने के लिए डाँटने, उलाहना देने, गलतियों को सुधारने की बातें करेगा।

Appropriately Handling God’s Word – 15

 

Since the previous article we have started looking at 2 Corinthians 2:17, to learn how and why people and preachers go beyond what is written in God’s Word. We saw in the previous article that the main reason for going beyond God’s Word is selfish gain and gathering material possessions. We also saw the contrast between the ministry of Paul and these “many” false preachers and teachers. While Paul preached in the fear of God, to please God, and the actual Word of God; these “many” false preachers and teachers preached and taught their own doctrines and things, mainly what the audience wanted to hear, instead of the actual Word of God.

One can argue that while Paul may have been given one kind of ministry and a particular aspect of God’s Word to preach and teach, these people may have been given a different ministry and a different aspect of God’s Word to preach and teach. Just because they did not follow Paul’s style and content of preaching, it does not mean that they were wrong, and not to be followed. God has not left us in any doubt or ambiguity about this. God’s Word shows us its purposes and characteristics, and how it acts when used the way it is meant to be used. The implication is that in whichever preaching and teaching, or in whichever preacher and teacher, these characteristics and purposes mentioned in the Bible are not present, Biblically, that is neither correct, nor to be followed.

 

We can briefly see and understand these characteristics and purposes from three places in the Bible:

• Paul wrote to Timothy about using God’s Word for its God intended purposes, i.e., “for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Of these four God intended purposes for His Word, at least two (reproof and correction), if not three (instruction in righteousness), are purposes that people do not like being applied to them. And most ministers of God are quite reluctant to exercise their responsibility of fulfilling these purposes lest they offend the congregation. Even for the remaining purpose, “for doctrine”, teachings given in God’s Word are often ignored or modified, and decisions of men are taught and implemented as doctrines from God. These are all examples of going beyond God’s Word. If any preacher or preaching does not have these characteristics and purposes, then according to God’s Word, it is not honest and correct either. Nor can it be said that God’s Word should be made relevant according to time, place, and civilization. Since, as we have seen earlier, the Word that we have in our hands, is a form of the Lord Jesus (John 1:1, 14; Revelation 19:11-13), and this Word is unchanging, being settled in heaven forever (Psalm 119:89). Therefore, there is no possibility of altering it in any way or making it relevant, else it will tantamount to altering and editing the Lord God Jesus Christ.

• Paul exhorted Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2-5, endure afflictions and preach God’s Word, even rebuking and exhorting people if it is so required, in fulfilling the ministry. The agents of Satan, engaged in preaching and teaching wrong doctrines will never do this, since their purpose is to keep people away from the correct and honest teachings, and entangled in the wrong and false doctrines; therefore they will only please them, never say anything that might offend them..

• In the New Testament, God’s Word has been likened to being even sharper than a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), that can penetrate deep within a man and is a “discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” of persons. As the penetrating and cutting of the sword into the body is painful, similarly, when the Word of God is presented under the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, it penetrates into the heart of man and lays open the sinful thoughts and intents of the heart. This pricking of the heart or of the conscience is a painful and exposing process, that is seen only with the right Word being preached correctly, not otherwise.

 

Now, if someone has to “peddle” the Word of God, as these false preachers and teachers do, they will have to make it sound attractive and pleasing to men, so that the preacher receives a good appreciation, and therefore a good remuneration from the audience. For this, he will have to ‘suitably’ alter the Word of God, so that it no longer serves as a ‘sword’ that cuts deep and lays open the hidden things, nor will he resort to correcting wrongs, rebuking people, nor will such a preacher exhort them for following the truth.

 

We will see some more about this in the next article.

You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
