निर्गमन 12:8-10 (3) - प्रभु की मेज़ और व्यक्तिगत बाइबल अध्ययन

 

       क्योंकि परमेश्वर के लोगों में परमेश्वर के वचन को पढ़ने और उसका पालन करने का चाव नहीं रहा है, बल्कि वे मनुष्यों द्वारा दी जा रही शिक्षाओं को सुनने और बिना उन्हें जाँचे तथा वचन से उनकी पुष्टि करे ही मानने से ही संतुष्ट रहते हैं, इसीलिए शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन और निर्देशों के बारे में बहुत सी गलत व्याख्याएँ एवं अर्थ, गलत शिक्षाएं और मिथ्या सिद्धांतों को परमेश्वर के लोगों तथा कलीसिया में ले आने पाया है। शैतान की इन बाइबल के विपरीत, झूठी, त्रुटिपूर्ण, दुष्ट शिक्षाओं ने ईसाई समाज या मसीहियत में बहुत गहरी जड़ पकड़ ली है, और सामान्यतः लोग उन्हीं में बने रहना भी चाहते हैं, न कि यह कि परमेश्वर के वचन से उन्हें जाँचे और उनकी पुष्टि करें, तथा अपने आप को सुधारें। हमारे इस अध्ययन, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने, से संबंधित इन गलत शिक्षाओं में से एक है कि हम किसी भी प्रकार से, अपने समुदाय या डिनॉमिनेशन की रीति के अनुसार, इसमें भाग ले सकते हैं, उससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता है और सभी परमेश्वर को मान्य है। दूसरी गलत शिक्षा है कि प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने से लोग धर्मी, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य, और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के लिये योग्य हो जाते हैं। किन्तु, जैसा कि हम पहले के लेखों में देख चुके हैं, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में इन धारणाओं का कोई समर्थन, कोई पुष्टि नहीं है; ये सभी शैतान द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करने के द्वारा लाई तथा परोसी गई बातें हैं।

        हम इस विषय, प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ के बारे में पुराने नियम के इसके प्ररूप, फसह से सीखते आ रहे हैं। फसह के बारे में परमेश्वर के निर्देश और नियम निर्गमन 12 में तथा मूसा में होकर परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था में दिए गए हैं। वर्तमान में हम निर्गमन 12 से अध्ययन कर रहे हैं, और अभी अध्ययन में पद 8-10 पर पहुँचे हैं। इन पदों में बहुत से प्रतीक और चिह्न हैं जो प्रभु यीशु मसीह, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने, और मसीही जीवन जीने से संबंधित हैं, और जिन्हें हमने देखा है। पिछले लेख में हमने बलि किए हुए मेमने को “खाने” के बारे में विस्तार से देखा था, और इसका प्रभु यीशु द्वारा उसकी “देह और लहू” को खाने के निर्देश के साथ संबंध को देखा था। हमने देखा था कि प्रभु का यह निर्देश, सांकेतिक रीति से उसके वचन का परिश्रम के साथ गंभीर अध्ययन करने तथा उसका पालन करने को दिखाता है। आज हम इन पदों में दिए गए प्रतीकों और चिह्नों पर और आगे देखेंगे, और उनसे प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में और आगे की बातों को सीखेंगे।

        पद 8 कहता है कि इस्राएलियों को बलि किए हुए मेमने को उसी रात में खाना था। परमेश्वर के वचन में “रात” और “अंधकार” पाप के व्याप्त होने तथा शैतानी ताकतों के कार्यरत होने के प्रतीक हैं (रोमियों 13:12; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:5), स्वर्ग में कोई रात नहीं होगी (प्रकाशितवाक्य 21:25; 22:5); ये ऐसे समय के भी चिह्न हैं जब कोई भी प्रभु के लिए कार्य नहीं करने पाएगा (यूहन्ना 9:4)। प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए अंत के दिनों के चिह्नों में से एक है कि उसके लोग घोर सताव में से होकर निकलेंगे, झूठे शिक्षक और झूठी शिक्षाओं का बोल-बाला होगा, और बहुत से लोग ठोकर खाकर पीछे हट जाएंगे (मत्ती 24:9-12)। वर्तमान में संसार भर की परिस्थितियाँ एवं गतिविधियाँ, उनका निरंतर और भी बिगड़ते ही चले जाना, मसीही विश्वासियों को अधिकाधिक निशाना बनाया तथा प्रताड़ित किये जाना, सुसमाचार प्रचार तथा प्रभु को उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने में बढ़ती हुए बाधाएँ, सभी इस बात को दिखाते हैं कि हम इस “रात” के समय में जी रहे हैं; जिसमें प्रभु के लिए कार्य करना और भी अधिक कठिन होता चला जा रहा है। इस्राएलियों को उस रात में, मिस्र से निकाल जाने की पुकार की प्रतीक्षा करते हुए, बलि किए हुए मेमने को खाना था। जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है, यह मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए इस बात का प्रतीक है कि उन्हें अपने आप को परमेश्वर के वचन के अध्ययन में लौलीन कर लेना है, बिना इस बात की परवाह किए कि बाहर संसार में क्या हो रहा है। हमारे लिए कुलुस्सियों 3:16 इस बात की पुष्टि करता है, “मसीह के वचन को अपने हृदय में अधिकाई से बसने दो; और सिद्ध ज्ञान सहित एक दूसरे को सिखाओ, और चिताओ, और अपने अपने मन में अनुग्रह के साथ परमेश्वर के लिये भजन और स्तुतिगान और आत्मिक गीत गाओ”; और याकूब 1:21 हमें बताता है कि ऐसा क्यों करना है, “इसलिये सारी मलिनता और बैर भाव की बढ़ती को दूर कर के, उस वचन को नम्रता से ग्रहण कर लो, जो हृदय में बोया गया और जो तुम्हारे प्राणों का उद्धार कर सकता है।” स्मरण कीजिए कि मत्ती 24:12 में प्रभु ने कहा है कि संसार के हालात, और बढ़ते हुए अधर्म के कारण बहुतेरों का प्रेम ठंडा पड़ जाएगा। किन्तु जो परमेश्वर के वचन में दृढ़ता से स्थापित होंगे, संसार चाहे जो भी दिखाता और सिखाता रहे, वे वचन में ही विश्वास रखेंगे और उसी का पालन करेंगे, ऐसे लोग ही अपने छुटकारे की प्रतीक्षा करते हुए अपने विश्वास में दृढ़ बने रहेंगे।

        इन बातों से हम अपने अध्ययन, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में क्या सीखते हैं? जैसा कि हम पिछले लेख में देख और विचार कर चुके हैं, प्रभु की मेज़ उनके लिए है जो परमेश्वर के वचन का आदर करते हैं, उसका अध्ययन और पालन करते हैं। पाप के बड़ी गहराई से हर ओर, हर बात में व्याप्त होने और शैतानी शक्तियों के अभिभूत कर देने वाले कार्यों के इस समय में, अपने विश्वास में दृढ़ बने रहने, तथा शैतान की युक्तियों द्वारा बहकाए जाने से बचे रहने के लिए हमें परमेश्वर के वचन में दृढ़ता से स्थापित रहना है। प्रभु यीशु ने अंत के दिनों के चिह्नों में कहा है “तब बहुतेरे ठोकर खाएंगे, और एक दूसरे से बैर रखेंगे” (मत्ती 24:10), तथा, “और अधर्म के बढ़ने से बहुतों का प्रेम ठण्डा हो जाएगा” (मत्ती 24:12)। ये लोग कौन होंगे? ये वे लोग होंगे जो अपने विश्वास में कमजोर हैं, इसलिए वे शैतान की उन दुष्ट योजनाओं के सामने खड़े नहीं रहने पाएंगे जो वह संसार और प्रभु के लोगों पर लाएगा। यह बात कोई अंदाज़ा, किसी मनुष्य का विचार नहीं है; वरन यह एक स्थापित, कड़वा किन्तु अटल तथ्य है - स्वयं प्रभु यीशु ने यह कहा है, और उसकी कही हुई कोई भी बात कभी भी टलती या बदलती नहीं है। वो लोग इतने कमज़ोर और धोखा खाने तथा देने वाले क्यों होंगे? इसका उत्तर हम अपनी उपरोक्त चर्चा के आधार पर समझ सकते हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने कभी उनसे बारंबार किए गए आग्रह पर, कि उनके छुटकारे के लिए बलिदान हुए मेमने को “खा” लें, कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया; अर्थात, उन्होंने कभी परमेश्वर के वचन, बाइबल, को गंभीरता से पढ़ने और उसका पालन करने के महत्व पर ध्यान नहीं दिया। प्रभु भोज में अपने समुदाय या डिनॉमिनेशन की रीतियों के अनुसार पारंपरिक रीति से भाग ले लेने से व्यक्ति प्रभु में स्थापित तथा बढ़ता नहीं है; यह केवल मेमने को “खा लेने” के द्वारा, अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रयास के साथ गंभीरता से अध्ययन करने और फिर हर कीमत पर उसका पालन करने के द्वारा ही होता है। जो ऐसा करते हैं वे “रात” में भी प्रभु में स्थापित और दृढ़ रहते हैं, और अन्ततः पीछे हटकर गिर जाने की बजाए छुटकारा भी पा लेते हैं।

        ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:8-10 (3) - The Lord’s Table & Personal Bible Study

 

       Since people of God have lost interest in studying and obeying God’s Word, instead, have become content and satisfied with listening to and obeying man’s teachings, without evaluating and verifying them from God’s Word, therefore Satan has been able to bring in his misinterpretations, wrong teachings, and false doctrines about God’s instructions and His Word, amongst God’s people and the Church. These unBiblical, false, erroneous, devious, satanic teachings have become very firmly established in Christendom, and generally speaking, people like to persist in them, rather than verify them from God’s Word and correct themselves. One of these wrong teachings, related to the subject of our study - The Holy Communion, is that people can participate in it in any manner, as per the practices of their sect or denomination, and it will be acceptable to God. Another is that participating in the Hoy Communion, or the Lord’s Table, makes them righteous, acceptable to God, and worthy of gaining entrance into heaven. But God’s Word, the Bible has no support or affirmation for either of these notions, as we have seen in the earlier articles; all of these are satanic doctrines mixed into the teachings of God’s Word and served to the gullible people.

        We have been studying this subject of the Holy Communion or the Lord’s Table through its antecedent in the Old Testament, the Passover. God’s instructions and regulations regarding the Passover are given in Exodus 12, and in His Law, which He gave through Moses. We are presently studying from Exodus 12, and have reached verse 8-10. These verses have a lot of symbolisms and meanings that apply to the Lord Jesus, participating in the Lord’s Table, and Christian Living, that we have seen and studied in the recent articles. In the previous article, we have dwelt at length on the “eating” of the sacrificed lamb, and correlated it with the Lord’s instructions to “eat and drink” his body and blood, and seen that it signifies studying the Lord’s Word diligently, seriously, and obeying it. Today we will continue to dwell further on the symbolisms in these verses and learn from them about participating in the Holy Communion.

        Verse 8 says that the flesh of the sacrificed lamb had to be eaten on that night by the Israelites. In God’s Word, “night” or “darkness” are symbols of pervading sin and of satanic forces at work (Romans 13:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:5); in heaven there will be no night (Revelation 21:25; 22:5); night is also a symbol of the time when no one will be able to work for the Lord (John 9:4). One of the signs of the end times, given by the Lord was that His people will be severely persecuted, false teachers and teachings will abound, and many will fall away (Matthew 24:9-12). The prevailing and continually worsening world conditions, the increasing targeting and persecution of Christians, the worsening obstacles to preaching the Gospel and accepting the Lord Jesus as Savior, are all indicative that we are living in this period of the night; the period in which working for the Lord is becoming increasingly difficult. The Israelites, waiting for their deliverance, on the Passover night were to eat the sacrificed lamb, as they waited for the call to leave Egypt. As we have seen in the previous article, for the Christian Believers, this is an indicator of immersing themselves in the study of God’s Word, unperturbed by what is happening outside in the world. Colossians 3:16 affirms this for us, “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”; and James 1:21 tells us why, “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” Recall, in Matthew 24:12, the Lord has said that due to the prevailing world conditions, the abounding lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold. But those who are firmly established in God’s Word, believe in it irrespective of what the world says and shows, obey it, will remain firm in their faith, waiting for their deliverance.

        What can we learn for our study on participating in the Holy Communion from this? As we have already seen and considered in the previous article, the Lord’s Table is for those who honor, study and obey God’s Word. In this time of prevailing sin and overwhelming activities of satanic forces, to remain firm in our faith and not succumb to the wiles of the devil, we need to be firmly established in God’s Word. The Lord Jesus has said about the signs of the end times that “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another” (Matthew 24:10), and “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). Who will these people be? They will be the ones who will be weak in their faith, not firmly established in God’s Word, and therefore they will not be able to stand up to the devious devices the devil will unleash against the people of God. This is not speculation, not mere conjecture; it is an established, hard and bitter fact - the Lord Jesus Himself has said it, and what He has said will never fail. And, why will they be so weak and fallible? We can deduce the answer from our discussion above, because they never paid serious heed to the repeated pleas of “eating” the lamb sacrificed for their deliverance; they never bothered to seriously study and obey the Bible - the Word of God. It is not a ritualistic participation in the Holy Communion, as per the practices of one’s sect and denomination, that makes a person grow and be strongly rooted in the Lord; it is only by “eating” the lamb, i.e., by seriously and diligently studying the Word of God and then obeying it at all costs, that one can remain firm and established in the Lord, even in the “night”, and eventually be delivered, instead of falling away.

        All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see more from these verses, Exodus 12:8-10. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual; and are you ready and prepared to stand before the Lord and answer for your life? It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       बाइबल हमें 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3 में बताती है कि हव्वा से पाप करवाने के लिए शैतान ने उसे अपनी चालाकी से बहका लिया, और उसी तरह से वह मसीही विश्वासियों के मनों को भी भ्रष्ट करता है और उन्हें मसीह में सादगी से भटका कर ले जाना चाहता है। हव्वा शैतान द्वारा इसलिए बहकाई जा सकी क्योंकि उसने परमेश्वर की कही बात, उसके वचन पर भरोसा रखने की बजाए, परमेश्वर के निर्देशों से बाहर की बातों पर, एक अन्य सृजे गए प्राणी के द्वारा उससे कही जाने वाली बातों पर भरोसा कर लेने को चुन लिया। उसकी दूसरी गलती थी कि उसने शैतान की बात मान लेने से पहले अपने पति आदम के साथ इस बात पर चर्चा नहीं की; और न ही परमेश्वर के आने पर, जैसा वह किया करता था, उस से इसके बारे में पूछने की प्रतीक्षा की। शैतान जो भी कहना चाहता था, उसे सुनने के बाद उसने तुरंत ही निर्णय लेकर कार्यवाही कर ली तथा आदम से भी करवा दी, क्योंकि शैतान ने जो कहा था वह हव्वा की समझ, बुद्धि, और आँखों को भाया, और उसने उस पर भरोसा कर लिया, मनुष्य के जीवन तथा सृष्टि में शैतान और पाप के लिए द्वार को खोल दिया, और हम आज तक उनके द्वारा परमेश्वर के निर्देशों की अनाज्ञाकारिता तथा परमेश्वर के वचन को नज़रंदाज़ करने के परिणाम भुगत रहे हैं।

        लगभग यही स्थिति प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ तथा अन्य बातों के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके वचन बाइबल में दिए गए निर्देशों के बारे में भी ईसाई या मसीही समाज में व्याप्त है। आज लोगों में परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने और उसके निर्देशों को मानने में कोई रुचि नहीं है, अथवा इसका बहुत ही कम शौक है। इसकी बजाए वे उसी को मानने और उसका पालन करने से संतुष्ट रहते हैं जो एक अन्य मनुष्य उन्हें परमेश्वर के नाम में पुल्पिट से एक आकर्षक और तर्क-संगत रीति से बता देता है; और वे उसे स्वीकार करने तथा उसका पालन करने से पहले बाइबल से उसकी जांच अथवा पुष्टि भी नहीं करते हैं। परिणाम यह हुआ है कि शैतान ने बड़ी ही आसानी से अपनी गलत शिक्षाएं और अनुचित सिद्धांत मसीहियत में घुसा दिए हैं, अपनी गलत और शैतानी व्याख्याओं के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन की बातों को भ्रष्ट कर दिया है, बिगाड़ दिया है। इस प्रकार से, जैसे उसने हव्वा को बहकाया, उसी प्रकार से उसने अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही समाज को बाइबल के बाहर की अपनी गलत शिक्षाओं का पालन करने के लिए, जिनमें उसकी दुष्टता की बातें, चालाकियाँ, और सांसारिक बातों की शिक्षाएं भी चतुराई से मिलाई हुई होती हैं, बहका लिया है। इसलिए, ईसाई या मसीही समाज में जो परिस्थिति व्याप्त है वह यह है कि आज लोग परमेश्वर की इच्छा को जानने, समझने, और उसका पालन करने के लिए प्रयास करने की बजाए, मनुष्य की बातों को सुनने और स्वीकार करने, उनका पालन करने में अधिक रुचि रखते हैं; अर्थात, वे परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाले होने के स्थान पर मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाले हो गए हैं।

        उनकी इस प्रवृत्ति का एक अनंतकाल के लिए घातक प्रभाव उत्पन्न करने वाली बात है, उनके द्वारा प्रभु भोज में एक धार्मिक अनुष्ठान के समान उस रीति से भाग लेना जो उनके समुदाय अथवा डिनॉमिनेशन में पालन की जाती है, इस विश्वास के साथ कि भाग लेने के द्वारा वे परमेश्वर के लोग बन जाएंगे, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो जाएंगे, और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश करने के योग्य मान लिए जाएंगे - जो कि एक बिल्कुल गलत और बाइबल के सर्वथा विपरीत सिद्धांत है। इस शृंखला में हम यह अध्ययन कर रहे हैं कि परमेश्वर का वचन प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के विषय वास्तव में क्या कहता है, तथा इस और अन्य गलत और घातक धारणाओं को दूर करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु की मेज़ की स्थापना अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह का भोज खाते हुए, उसी भोज की सामग्री को लेकर उपयोग करने के द्वारा स्थापित की थी। फसह से संबंधित परमेश्वर के निर्देश निर्गमन 12 तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा मूसा में होकर दी गई व्यवस्था में दिए गए हैं। ये निर्देश और उनके तात्पर्य आज भी उतने ही सत्य हैं जितने तब थे; और इनके द्वारा हमें प्रभु की मेज़ में परमेश्वर के निर्देशों के अनुसार भाग लेने के लिए बहुत सी बातें समझने तथा सीखने को मिलती हैं, न कि एक औपचारिकता के समान, जैसा आज सामान्यतः होता रहता है। हम इन बातों को निर्गमन 12 में से समझ और सीख रहे हैं, और पिछले लेख में हमने पद 8-10 में से सीखना आरंभ किया है; जिसमें हमने देखा है कि फसह के भोज में भाग लेने और मिस्र के दासत्व से छुड़ाए जाने के लिए एक कीमत चुकानी पड़ी थी। इसी प्रकार से योग्य रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना उनके लिए है जिन्होंने अपने आप को संसार, साँसारिकता, और उसकी आरामदेह बातों से पृथक कर लिया है; वे प्रभु के लिए खड़े होने के लिए, तैयार हैं, तथा प्रभु के लोग होने के लिए पहचाने जाने के लिए कठिनाइयों, समस्याओं, और सताव सहन करने के लिए तैयार हैं। आज हम इसी खण्ड को आगे देखेंगे और इस खण्ड की कुछ अन्य शिक्षाओं और अभिप्रायों को देखेंगे तथा उनसे सीखेंगे।

        बलि के मेमने के लहू को घर के दरवाज़े की चौखटों तथा अलंगों पर लगाने के बाद, इस्राएलियों को मेमने को आग पर भूनना था और फिर उसे अखमीरी रोटी तथा कड़वे साग-पात के साथ खाना था। इस बात को हम पिछले लेख में देख चुके हैं। इन आयतों को आगे देखने से पहले, हमें स्मरण कर लेना चाहिए कि प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी तोड़ी गई देह तथा बहाए गए लहू के चिह्न के रूप में अखमीरी रोटी तथा दाख-रस को उपयोग किया था। साथ ही, यूहन्ना 6:32-63 में प्रभु यीशु अपनी देह और लहू की बात करता है, जिन्हें उसके शिष्यों को नए जीवन के स्त्रोत के रूप में खाना और पीना था। अब, पुराने नियम में, परमेश्वर का वचन और व्यवस्था माँस को लहू के साथ खाने और लहू को खाने के लिए स्पष्ट मना करता है (उत्पत्ति 9:4; लैव्यव्यवस्था 3:17; 7:26; आदि)। इसलिए जब प्रभु यीशु अपनी देह के खाए जाने और लहू के पीए जाने की बात करता है तो यह सांकेतिक ही हो सकता है, न कि शब्दार्थ में, जिस प्रकार से जिस रोटी और दाखरस को उसने दिया था, उनके सांकेतिक अर्थ थे।

        बहुत ही साधारण रीति से, हम जो कुछ भी खाते और पीते हैं, वह हमारे पेट में जाकर अपनी रचना के अवयवों में बँट जाता है, और फिर सोख लिए जाने के बाद, खून के साथ शरीर के विभिन्न भागों में जाता है, और अपने गुणों के अनुसार शरीर में प्रभाव उत्पन्न करता है। लगभग यही बात रोटी और दाखरस, अर्थात प्रभु यीशु की देह के खाने और लहू पीने के लिए भी होती है। प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 6:54-56 में कहा है, “जो मेरा मांस खाता, और मेरा लहू पीता है, अनन्त जीवन उसी का है, और मैं अंतिम दिन फिर उसे जिला उठाऊंगा। क्योंकि मेरा मांस वास्तव में खाने की वस्तु है और मेरा लहू वास्तव में पीने की वस्तु है। जो मेरा मांस खाता और मेरा लहू पीता है, वह मुझ में स्थिर बना रहता है, और मैं उस में”; अर्थात, प्रभु की देह और लहू अनंत जीवन का स्त्रोत हैं, और उसमें बने रहने का कारण हैं। थोड़ा सा आगे, यूहन्ना 6:63 में प्रभु ने कहा, “आत्मा तो जीवनदायक है, शरीर से कुछ लाभ नहीं: जो बातें मैं ने तुम से कहीं हैं वे आत्मा है, और जीवन भी हैं”; अर्थात, उसने जिस अनंत जीवन के बारे में आयत 54 में बात की है, वह आत्मा के द्वारा, उसके शब्दों के द्वारा मिलता है। इसलिए तात्पर्य स्पष्ट है, कि प्रभु जिसे “खाने” की बात कर रहा है, वह उसका वचन है। और क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु स्वयं “जीवता वचन” है, जिसने देहधारी होकर हमारे मध्य में निवास किया (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14), उसके वचनों को “खाना” उसकी देह को खाने के समान है। इसकी पुष्टि 1 यूहन्ना 3:24 “और जो उस की आज्ञाओं को मानता है, वह उस में, और वह उन में बना रहता है: और इसी से, अर्थात उस आत्मा से जो उसने हमें दिया है, हम जानते हैं, कि वह हम में बना रहता है” से भी हो जाती है - प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाओं को मानना ही उसमें बने रहना है। इसी प्रकार से यूहन्ना 4:34 में प्रभु यीशु परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता को भोजन करने के समान बताता है। और प्रकाशितवाक्य 10:9 तथा यहेजकेल 2:8-3:3 में यूहन्ना तथा यहेजकेल को खा लेने के लिए पुस्तकें दी गईं और फिर उन पुस्तकों को खा लेने के बाद उन्होंने जो उन से सीखा उसे लोगों को बताना था। इसलिए चिह्न और प्रतीक स्पष्ट हैं; प्रभु यीशु की देह और लहू को खाने और पीने का अभिप्राय है कि उसके शब्दों अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल को खाएं, अच्छे से चबाएं, पचा लें और उन्हें आत्मसात कर लें, तथा उस वचन को उनके जीवनों में परिवर्तन लाने दें। जैसा कि यूहन्ना 14:21, 23 कहते हैं, कि व्यक्ति के परमेश्वर से प्रेम करने का प्रमाण (वास्तव में बाइबल में परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया इस बात का एकमात्र प्रमाण) यही है कि व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के वचन से प्रेम करता है, उसका पालन करता है। इसी प्रकार से 1 यूहन्ना 2:3-6 कहता है कि परमेश्वर को जानने, उससे प्रेम करने, और प्रभु में बने रहने का प्रमाण है उसकी आज्ञाओं को जानना और मानना, जो कि व्यक्ति के द्वारा प्रभु के समान जीने और चलने के द्वारा प्रमाणित होगा।

        अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय पर आगे विचार करेंगे, और निर्गमन 12:8-10 के प्रतीकों से कुछ और बातों को सीखेंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:8-10 (2) - The Lord’s Table - For Those Who Honor, Study, and Obey God’s Word (1)

 

       The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11:3 that to cause Eve to sin, Satan beguiled her through his craftiness, and similarly, he tries to corrupt the minds of the Christian Believers and lead them away from the simplicity in Christ. Eve could be beguiled by Satan, because instead of trusting in God’s Word, she chose to trust in things extraneous to God’s instructions being said to her by a created, earthly creature. The second error she made was to not discuss it with her husband Adam, nor wait to ask God when He would visit them, as God used to do. But on hearing what Satan had to say, since what Satan said appealed to her understanding, intellect, and eyes, she immediately acted upon it, and also made Adam do the same. Their disobedience to God’s Word and instructions given to them, opened the door for sin to enter their lives and the creation, and we are still suffering the consequences of their disobeying God and ignoring His Word.

        Much the same situation prevails regarding the Holy Communion, or, the Lord’s Table, and other instructions that God has given in His Word the Bible. Since people have scant, or, no interest in studying and learning God’s Word and obeying its instructions. Instead, they are quite content with accepting and believing whatever another person tells them, in God’s name in an attractive and seemingly logical manner from the pulpit, without bothering to cross-check and verify it from the Bible, before accepting it and following or obeying it. The consequence is that Satan has brought in and firmly established his wrong teachings and false doctrines, has corrupted God’s Word through his devious misinterpretations. Thereby, like he beguiled Eve, he has beguiled most of Christendom into following unBiblical, i.e., devious misinterpretations of God’s Word cleverly mixed with worldly things and teachings outside of the Bible. Therefore, the prevailing situation in Christendom is that people are more interested and willing to listen to men and obey them, rather than bother to learn and find out God’s will, and obey God; i.e., people would rather be “men-pleasers” than be “God-pleasers.”

        One of the eternally disastrous consequences of this tendency is believing that partaking of the Holy Communion, as a religious ritual, in the manner practised in their sect or denomination, will make them God’s people, acceptable to God and entitle them to enter heaven - a patently false and unBiblical notion. Through this series we have been studying what God’s Word actually has to say and teach about the Holy Communion and participating in it, and dispel this and other erroneous, disastrous notions. The Lord Jesus established the Lord’s Table while eating the Passover meal with His disciples, using the elements of the Passover meal. God’s instructions related to the Passover are given in Exodus 12 and in the Law given by God through Moses. These instructions and their implications are just as true today, and teach us many things about understanding and participating in the Lord’s Table in the manner God wants it to be done, and not perfunctorily, as is usually being done. We have been studying this from Exodus 12, and reached the section of verses 8-10 in the last study, where we saw that participating in the Passover and being delivered from the bondage of Egypt called for paying a price. So too worthily participating in the Lord’s Table is for those who have detached themselves from the world, worldliness, and its comforts, are willing to stand up for the Lord and face difficulties, problems, and persecution for being counted as people of the Lord Jesus. Today, we will continue ahead with the same section and explore some other teachings and implications of this section.

        After applying the blood of the sacrificial lamb of the Passover to the door-posts and lintel of their houses, the Israelites then had to roast the lamb on fire, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs - which we have considered in the last article. Before proceeding further with these verses, we should recall that in establishing the Holy Communion, the Lord Jesus gave the unleavened bread and the cup of grape-juice, as symbols of His broken body and shed blood, for His disciples to eat and drink. Also, in John 6:32-63, the Lord Jesus speaks of His body and blood, that have to be eaten and drunk as source of life. Now, in the OT, the Word of God even before the Law and even in the Law expressly forbade eating meat with blood, or using blood as food (Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 3:17; 7:26; etc.). Therefore, when the Lord speaks of eating and drinking His body and blood, it has to be, not literally, but with a symbolic meaning, just as the bread and grape-juice that He gave to eat and drink had symbolic meanings.

        Very simply stated, after we eat or drink something, it is broken down into its components in our gut, then is absorbed and circulates with the blood to various parts of the body, and produces the various effects in the body, according to its characteristics. Much the same is implied in eating the bread and grape-juice, i.e., the body and blood of the Lord Jesus. In John 6:54-56, the Lord Jesus says, “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him”; i.e., the body and blood of the Lord are the source of eternal life, and cause of abiding in Him. A little later, in John 6:63 He says, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”; i.e., this eternal life that He has spoken of in verse 54 comes through the Spirit, through His Words. Therefore, the implication is apparent, that what the Lord is asking to be “eaten” are His Words; and since the Lord Jesus is “the living Word” that became flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:1, 14), “eating” His Words is the same as eating His body. This is further corroborated by 1 John 3:24 “Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us” - obeying the commandments of the Lord is to abide in Him. Similarly in John 4:34 the Lord Jesus calls obeying God to be the same as eating food. Also in Revelation 10:9 and Ezekiel 2:8-3:3 books are given to John and Ezekiel to “eat” and then they have to speak out what they learnt from “eating” those books. So, the symbolism and implication are clear, to eat and drink the body and blood of the Lord implies to eat, chew, digest, and imbibe His Words, i.e., the Bible - the Word of God, and let the Word of God bring changes in a person’s life. As John 14:21, 23 says, the proof (actually, the only God-given proof in the Bible) of a person loving God is that he will keep God’s Word and obey His Commandments. Similarly, 1 John 2:3-6 says that the proof of knowing God, loving God, and abiding in the Lord is knowing and keeping His commandments, which will be manifested by the person living and walking as the Lord did.

        In the next article, we will continue considering this topic further, and learn some more from the symbolisms of Exodus 12:8-10.

You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि इस्राएलियों को बहुत ही कम समय और रात ही में कूच करने के लिए अपने आप को तैयार रखना था। इसके लिए उन्हें शीघ्रता से, बिना स्वाद की चिन्ता किए, भोजन को पका कर के खा लेना था, जो उनके यात्रा पर निकलने की तैयारी का एक भाग था। साथ ही हमने इन बातों के एक प्रतीक या प्रारूप होने, तथा उनके अर्थ को भी देखा था, और यह भी कि आज ये बातें मसीही विश्वासियों के प्रभु-भोज में भाग लें से किस प्रकार सम्बन्धित हैं, और आज हमें मसीही जीवन जीने के बारे में क्या सिखाती हैं। आज हम इसी बात को औ आगे बढ़ाएँगे और यहाँ से आगे देखेंगे।

        अपने भोजन में स्वाद बढ़ाने वाली कोई भी वस्तु मिलाने के स्थान पर, उन्हें अपने भोजन को कड़वे साग-पात के साथ खाना था - आग पर भुना हुआ निःस्वाद माँस, कड़ी खमीरी रोटी, जिसे कड़वे साग-पात के साथ शीघ्रता से खाना था - परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में यह करने के लिए इस्राएलियों को बड़े दृढ़ निर्णय और कठिन समय का सामना करने के लिए तैयार होना था। एक नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को मसीह में अपने विश्वास तथा प्रभु यीशु के लिए कठिनाइयों और दुखों का सामना करने के लिए (फिलिप्पियों 1:29; 2 तिमुथियुस 3:12) तैयार रहना चाहिए, तथा संसार की उन बातों से बचकर, उनसे दूर रहना चाहिए जो उसके जीवन को आरामदेह तो बना सकती हैं किन्तु उसके लिए संसार के साथ समझौता करना पड़ता है। विश्वासी को ऐसी सभी बातों के व्यर्थ और महत्वहीन होने को पहचान कर उनका तिरस्कार करना है, यह जानते और समझते हुए कि ये सभी नाशमान हैं, कोई आशीष नहीं, केवल बिगाड़ ही लाएंगी (1 यूहन्ना 2:15-17; याकूब 4:3-4)।

        प्रभु परमेश्वर ने इस्राएलियों को यह नहीं बताया था कि वह कब मिस्र पर से होकर जाएगा, और उन्हें मिस्र से छुटकारा दिलाएगा; उन्हें बस इतना पता था कि यह इसी रात में होगा, और उन्हें इसके लिए तैयार और जागते रहना था, ताकि जैसे ही यह घटना घटे वे कूच कर जाने के लिए तैयार पाए जाएं। प्रभु परमेश्वर ने अपने कहे को मध्य-रात्रि में किया, और उसके तुरंत बाद मिस्रियों ने इस्राएलियों से निकल जाने के लिए कहा (निर्गमन 12:29-33)। प्रभु यीशु ने वायदा किया है कि वह अपने लोगों को लेने के लिए आएगा, ताकि वे उसके साथ रहें (यूहन्ना 14:3), किन्तु यह नहीं बताया है कि वह कब आएगा। लेकिन उसने उसके आगमन के कुछ चिह्न दिए हैं, उसके आने से पहले संसार में होने वाली बातें बताई हैं (मत्ती 24)। संक्षेप में, प्रभु के द्वारा दिए गए चिह्न हैं, कि सारे संसार भर में शैतान की सामर्थ्य और पाप की भरपूरी होगी, प्रकृति में बिगाड़ आ जाएगा, शान्ति जाती रहेगी, परमेश्वर के लोग भारी सताव में पड़ेंगे और परखे जाएंगे, और प्रभु यीशु तथा मसीही विश्वास के बारे में बहुत सारी गलत शिक्षाएं और सिद्धांत फैला दिए जाएंगे - और यह सब हमारे सामने आज हो रहा है। संसार भर में फैले पाप और शैतान की शक्तियों के गहन अंधकार के समय में, अचानक ही कूच करने की पुकार होगी, और जो प्रभु के आगमन के लिए तैयार होंगे वो प्रभु के साथ जाने के लिए उठा लिए जाएंगे। परमेश्वर की संतानों को इन बातों के लिए सचेत, तैयार, और प्रार्थना में लगे रहना चाहिए; न कि सोते हुए या सँसार की बातों में या जीवन की चिंताओं में फंसे होना चाहिए (लूका 21:34; पद 31-36 देखिए)।

        जिस प्रकार से इस्राएलियों को अपने आप को तैयार करना था, तैयार रहना था, और फसह के भोज में तैयारी के साथ भाग लेना था; उसी प्रकार से जो प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते हैं, उन्हें भी अपने आप को संसार से, उसके आराम तथा विलासिता से अलग रखना है; उन्हें प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में संसार से कठिनाइयों और दुखों को लेने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। उन्हें अपने जीवन में कभी भी “खमीर”, अर्थात पाप और सांसारिकता को आने नहीं देना चाहिए, न ही बने रहने देना चाहिए; उन्हें अपने जीवनों को परमेश्वर के सम्मुख, उसके वचन के माध्यम से जाँचते रहना चाहिए कि कहीं कोई भ्रष्ट करने वाले प्रभाव तो घुस नहीं आए हैं, और यदि घुस आए हैं, तो उन्हें प्रभु की सहायता से निकाल देना चाहिए। उन्हें वह लोग होना चाहिए जो अपने मसीही विश्वास के लिए, संसार में पाप के बढ़ते हुए अंधकार के इस समय में, सताए जाने और घोर दुख उठाने के लिये हों, और प्रभु के लिए दृढ़ खड़े रहें। लूका 21:36 से हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वालों को ऐसे लोग होना चाहिए जो पल भर की सूचना पर संसार से कूच करने, और प्रभु के सामने खड़े होने के लिए तैयार रहने वाले हों। जब वे इसकी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हों, तब अपना समय संसार और सांसारिकता के साथ नहीं, किन्तु प्रार्थना, अर्थात परमेश्वर के साथ वार्तालाप और सहभागिता, करते हुए बिताना चाहिए।

        ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Holy Communion – 12

English Translation

Exodus 12:8-10 (1) - The Lord’s Table - Participate Only if Willing to Pay the Price (2)

 

       In the previous article we had seen that the Israelites had to prepare and keep themselves ready to depart at a very short notice, in the night. They were to prepare and eat a hurried, unsavory meal, as a part of their preparation. We had also seen the associated symbolisms of these things, and how they relate to the Christian Believers participating in the Holy Communion today; what they teach us for living a Christian life today. Today we will take this topic further and see more things about it.

        Instead of adding anything to flavor their meal, they had to eat it with bitter herbs - bland roasted meat, with flat, heavy unsavory bread, to be eaten with bitter herbs - the Israelites would have had to have a firm resolve and a trying time in eating it in such a hurried manner, in obedience to God! A Born-Again Christian Believer is to be willing to suffer hardships for his faith and for the sake of the Lord Jesus (Philippians 1:29; 2 Timothy 3:12), and remain aloof from worldly things and pleasures that make his life comfortable, but at the cost of compromising with the world. The Believer is to recognize the vanity of all these things and forego them, knowing that they are all perishable and will only bring corruption, not blessings (1 John 2:15-17; James 4:3-4).

        The Lord God had not told them the time when He will be passing through the land of Egypt and cause their deliverance from the Egyptians; all they knew is that it will happen sometime that very night, and they have to remain ready and awake, to depart in a hurry, as it happens. The Lord God carried this out at midnight, and soon afterwards the Egyptians asked the Israelites to leave (Exodus 12:29-33). The Lord Jesus has promised that He will return to take His people so that they should be with Him (John 14:3), but has not told when He will come. But He has given certain signs, the things that will be happening in the world (Matthew 24) when He is about to come. The gist of the signs spoken by the Lord is that all over the world sin and Satan’s power will abound, nature will go awry, peace will be lost, God’s people will be persecuted and severely tested, and many wrong teachings and false doctrines will proliferate - all of which we see is now happening all over the world. In the deep darkness of sin and satanic forces pervading all over the world, the call to depart will suddenly come, and those who are prepared will leave to be with the Lord. God’s children have to remain alert, ready, and praying for their departure; not sleeping or caught up with the things of this world and the cares of this life (Luke 21:34; see from verse 31-36).

        As was the manner in which the Israelites were to prepare themselves, be ready, and participate in the Passover meal. Similarly, those who partake of the Lord’s Table, the Holy Communion, should be the ones who have separated themselves from the world, its pleasures and comforts; have deliberately, in obedience to the Lord, chosen to suffer hardships and discomfort from the world. They should not allow any “leaven” i.e., sin and worldliness, to come in, or to stay in their lives; they should keep examining their lives before the Lord God through His Word and keep removing any corrupting influences that may have come in. They should be the people who, in this worsening darkness of sin that is abounding in the world, are willing to suffer persecution and severe troubles for the sake of their faith and stand up for the Lord. From Luke 21:36 we see that the participants in the Lord’s Table are to be the ones who have prepared themselves to depart from this world at any time, at a moment’s notice, having made themselves ready to stand before the Lord. While they wait to do so, they should spend their time not being involved with the world and worldliness, but praying, i.e., conversing and fellowshipping with the Lord.

        All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see the subsequent verses from Exodus12. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual; and are ready and prepared to stand before the Lord and answer for your life. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

क्योंकि परमेश्वर के लोगों में परमेश्वर के वचन को पढ़ने और उसका पालन करने का चाव नहीं रहा है, बल्कि वे मनुष्यों द्वारा दी जा रही शिक्षाओं को सुनने और बिना उन्हें जाँचे तथा वचन से उनकी पुष्टि करे ही मानने से ही संतुष्ट रहते हैं, इसीलिए शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन और निर्देशों के बारे में बहुत सी गलत व्याख्याएँ एवं अर्थ, गलत शिक्षाएं और मिथ्या सिद्धांतों को परमेश्वर के लोगों तथा कलीसिया में ले आने पाया है। शैतान की इन बाइबल के विपरीत, झूठी, त्रुटिपूर्ण, दुष्ट शिक्षाओं ने ईसाई समाज या मसीहियत में बहुत गहरी जड़ पकड़ ली है, और सामान्यतः लोग उन्हीं में बने रहना भी चाहते हैं, न कि यह कि परमेश्वर के वचन से उन्हें जाँचे और उनकी पुष्टि करें, तथा अपने आप को सुधारें। हमारे इस अध्ययन, प्रभु भोज में भाग लेने, से संबंधित इन गलत शिक्षाओं में से एक है कि हम किसी भी प्रकार से, अपने समुदाय या डिनॉमिनेशन की रीति के अनुसार, इसमें भाग ले सकते हैं, उससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता है और सभी परमेश्वर को मान्य है। दूसरी गलत शिक्षा है कि प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने से लोग धर्मी, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य, और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के लिये योग्य हो जाते हैं। किन्तु, जैसा कि हम पहले के लेखों में देख चुके हैं, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में इन धारणाओं का कोई समर्थन, कोई पुष्टि नहीं है; ये सभी शैतान द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करने के द्वारा लाई तथा परोसी गई बातें हैं।

हम इस विषय, प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ के बारे में पुराने नियम के इसके प्ररूप, फसह से सीखते आ रहे हैं। फसह के बारे में परमेश्वर के निर्देश और नियम निर्गमन 12 में तथा मूसा में होकर परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था में दिए गए हैं। वर्तमान में हम निर्गमन 12 से अध्ययन कर रहे हैं, और अभी पद 8-10 पर अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। इन पदों में बहुत से प्रतीक और चिह्न हैं जो प्रभु यीशु मसीह, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने, और मसीही जीवन जीने से संबंधित हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने बलि किए हुए मेमने को “खाने” के बारे में विस्तार से देखा था, और इसका प्रभु यीशु द्वारा उसकी “देह और लहू” को खाने के निर्देश के साथ संबंध को देखा था। हमने देखा था कि प्रभु का यह निर्देश, सांकेतिक रीति से उसके वचन का प्रयास के साथ गंभीर अध्ययन करने तथा उसका पालन करने को दिखाता है। आज हम इन पदों में दिए गए प्रतीकों और चिह्नों पर और आगे देखेंगे, और उनसे प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में और आगे की बातों को सीखेंगे।

पद 8 कहता है कि इस्राएलियों को बलि किए हुए मेमने को उसी रात में खाना था। परमेश्वर के वचन में “रात” और “अंधकार” पाप के व्याप्त होने तथा शैतानी ताकतों के कार्यरत होने के प्रतीक हैं (रोमियों 13:12; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:5), स्वर्ग में कोई रात नहीं होगी (प्रकाशितवाक्य 21:25; 22:5); ये ऐसे समय के भी चिह्न हैं जब कोई भी प्रभु के लिए कार्य नहीं करने पाएगा (यूहन्ना 9:4)। प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए अंत के दिनों के चिह्नों में से एक है कि उसके लोग घोर सताव में से होकर निकलेंगे, झूठे शिक्षक और झूठी शिक्षाओं का बोल-बाला होगा, और बहुत से लोग ठोकर खाकर पीछे हट जाएंगे (मत्ती 24:9-12)। वर्तमान में संसार भर की परिस्थितियाँ एवं गतिविधियाँ, उनका निरंतर और भी बिगड़ते ही चले जाना, मसीही विश्वासियों को अधिकाधिक निशाना बनाया तथा प्रताड़ित किये जाना, सुसमाचार प्रचार तथा प्रभु को उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने में बढ़ती हुए बाधाएँ, सभी इस बात को दिखाते हैं कि हम इस “रात” के समय में जी रहे हैं; जिसमें प्रभु के लिए कार्य करना और भी अधिक कठिन होता चला जा रहा है। इस्राएलियों को उस रात में, मिस्र से निकाल जाने की पुकार की प्रतीक्षा करते हुए, बलि किए हुए मेमने को खाना था। जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है, यह मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए इस बात का प्रतीक है कि उन्हें अपने आप को परमेश्वर के वचन के अध्ययन में लौलीन कर लेना है, बिना इस बात की परवाह किए कि बाहर संसार में क्या हो रहा है। हमारे लिए कुलुस्सियों 3:16 इस बात की पुष्टि करता है, “मसीह के वचन को अपने हृदय में अधिकाई से बसने दो; और सिद्ध ज्ञान सहित एक दूसरे को सिखाओ, और चिताओ, और अपने अपने मन में अनुग्रह के साथ परमेश्वर के लिये भजन और स्‍तुतिगान और आत्मिक गीत गाओ”; और याकूब 1:21 हमें बताता है कि ऐसा क्यों करना है, “इसलिये सारी मलिनता और बैर भाव की बढ़ती को दूर कर के, उस वचन को नम्रता से ग्रहण कर लो, जो हृदय में बोया गया और जो तुम्हारे प्राणों का उद्धार कर सकता है।” स्मरण कीजिए कि मत्ती 24:12 में प्रभु ने कहा है कि संसार के हालात, और बढ़ते हुए अधर्म के कारण बहुतेरों का प्रेम ठंडा पड़ जाएगा। किन्तु जो परमेश्वर के वचन में दृढ़ता से स्थापित होंगे, संसार चाहे जो भी दिखाता और सिखाता रहे, वे वचन में ही विश्वास रखेंगे और उसी का पालन करेंगे, ऐसे लोग ही अपने छुटकारे की प्रतीक्षा करते हुए अपने विश्वास में दृढ़ बने रहेंगे।

 

इन बातों से हम अपने अध्ययन, प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के बारे में क्या सीखते हैं? जैसा कि हम पिछले लेख में देख और विचार कर चुके हैं, प्रभु की मेज़ उनके लिए है जो परमेश्वर के वचन का आदर करते हैं, उसका अध्ययन और पालन करते हैं। पाप के बड़ी गहराई से हर ओर, हर बात में व्याप्त होने और शैतानी शक्तियों के अभिभूत कर देने वाले कार्यों के इस समय में, अपने विश्वास में दृढ़ बने रहने, तथा शैतान की युक्तियों द्वारा बहकाए जाने से बचे रहने के लिए हमें परमेश्वर के वचन में दृढ़ता से स्थापित रहना है। प्रभु यीशु ने अंत के दिनों के चिह्नों में कहा है “तब बहुतेरे ठोकर खाएंगे, और एक दूसरे से बैर रखेंगे” (मत्ती 24:10), तथा, “और अधर्म के बढ़ने से बहुतों का प्रेम ठण्‍डा हो जाएगा” (मत्ती 24:12)। ये लोग कौन होंगे? ये वे लोग होंगे जो अपने विश्वास में कमजोर हैं, इसलिए वे शैतान की उन दुष्ट योजनाओं के सामने खड़े नहीं रहने पाएंगे जो वह संसार और प्रभु के लोगों पर लाएगा। यह बात कोई अंदाज़ा, किसी मनुष्य का विचार नहीं है; वरन यह एक स्थापित, कड़वा किन्तु अटल तथ्य है - स्वयं प्रभु यीशु ने यह कहा है, और उसकी कही हुई कोई भी बात कभी भी टलती या बदलती नहीं है। वो लोग इतने कमज़ोर और धोखा खाने तथा देने वाले क्यों होंगे? इसका उत्तर हम अपनी उपरोक्त चर्चा के आधार पर समझ सकते हैं, क्योंकि उन्होंने कभी उनसे बारंबार किए गए आग्रह पर, कि उनके छुटकारे के लिए बलिदान हुए मेमने को “खा” लें, कोई ध्यान नहीं दिया; अर्थात, उन्होंने कभी परमेश्वर के वचन, बाइबल, को गंभीरता से पढ़ने और उसका पालन करने के महत्व पर ध्यान नहीं दिया। प्रभु भोज में अपने समुदाय या डिनॉमिनेशन की रीतियों के अनुसार पारंपरिक रीति से भाग ले लेने से व्यक्ति प्रभु में स्थापित तथा बढ़ता नहीं है; यह केवल मेमने को “खा लेने” के द्वारा, अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन का प्रयास के साथ गंभीरता से अध्ययन करने और फिर हर कीमत पर उसका पालन करने के द्वारा ही होता है। जो ऐसा करते हैं वे “रात” में भी प्रभु में स्थापित और दृढ़ रहते हैं, और अन्ततः पीछे हटकर गिर जाने की बजाए छुटकारा भी पा लेते हैं।

  

ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

  

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Exodus 12:8-10 (3) - The Lord’s Table & Personal Bible Study

Since people of God have lost interest in studying and obeying God’s Word, instead, have become content and satisfied with listening to and obeying man’s teachings, without evaluating and verifying them from God’s Word, therefore Satan has been able to bring in his misinterpretations, wrong teachings, and false doctrines about God’s instructions and His Word, amongst God’s people and the Church. These unBiblical, false, erroneous, devious, satanic teachings have become very firmly established in Christendom, and generally speaking, people like to persist in them, than verify them from God’s Word and correct themselves. One of these wrong teachings, related to the subject of our study - The Holy Communion, is that they can participate in it in any manner, as per the practices of their sect or denomination, and it will be acceptable to God. Another is that participating in the Hoy Communion, or the Lord’s Table makes them righteous, acceptable to God, worthy of gaining entrance into heaven. But God’s Word, the Bible has no support or affirmation for either of these notions, as we have seen in the earlier articles; all of these are satanic doctrines mixed into the teachings of God’s Word and served to the gullible people.

We have been studying this subject of the Holy Communion or the Lord’s Table through its antecedent in the Old Testament, the Passover. God’s instructions and regulations regarding the Passover are given in Exodus 12, and in His Law, which He gave through Moses. We are presently studying from Exodus 12, and have reached verse 8-10. These verses have a lot of symbolisms and meanings that apply to the Lord Jesus, participating in the Lord’s Table, and Christian Living, that we have seen and studied in the recent articles. In the previous article, we have dwelt at length on the “eating” of the sacrificed lamb, and corelated it with the Lord’s instructions to “eat and drink” his body and blood, and seen that it signifies studying the Lord’s Word diligently, seriously, and obeying it. Today we will continue to dwell further on the symbolisms in these verses and learn from them about participating in the Holy Communion.

Verse 8 says that the flesh of the sacrificed lamb had to be eaten on that night by the Israelites. In God’s Word, “night” or “darkness” are symbols of pervading sin and satanic forces at work (Romans 13:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:5), in heaven there will be no night (Revelation 21:25; 22:5); it is also a symbol of the time when no one will be able to work for the Lord (John 9:4). One of the signs of the end times, given by the Lord was that His people will be severely persecuted, false teachers and teachings will abound, and many will fall away (Matthew 24:9-12). The prevailing and continually worsening world conditions, the increasing targeting and persecution of Christians, the worsening obstacles to preaching the Gospel and accepting the Lord Jesus as Savior, are all indicative that we are living in this period of the night; the period in which working for the Lord is becoming increasingly difficult. The Israelites, waiting for their deliverance, on the Passover night were to eat the sacrificed lamb, as they waited for the call to leave Egypt. As we have seen in the previous article, for the Christian Believers, this is an indicator of immersing ourselves in the study of God’s Word, unperturbed by what is happening outside in the world. Colossians 3:16 affirms this for us, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord”; and James 1:21 tells us why, “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” Recall, in Matthew 24:12, the Lord has said that due to the prevailing world conditions, the abounding lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold. But those who are firmly established in God’s Word, believe in it irrespective of what the world says and shows, obey it, will remain firm in their faith, waiting for their deliverance.

What can we learn for our study on participating in the Holy Communion from this? As we have already seen and considered in the previous article, the Lord’s Table is for those who honor, study and obey God’s Word. In this time of prevailing sin and overwhelming activities of satanic forces, to remain firm in our faith and not succumb to the wiles of the devil, we need to be firmly established in God’s Word. The Lord Jesus has said about the signs of the end times that “And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another” (Matthew 24:10), and “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). Who will these people be? They will be the ones who will be weak in their faith, not firmly established in God’s Word, and therefore they will not be able to stand up to the devious devices the devil will unleash against the people of God. This is not speculation, not mere conjecture; it is an established, hard and bitter fact - the Lord Jesus Himself has said it, and what He has said will never fail. And, why will they be so weak and fallible? We can surmise the answer from our discussion above, because they never paid serious heed to the repeated pleas of “eating” the lamb sacrificed for their deliverance; they never bothered to seriously study and obey the Bible - the Word of God. It is not a ritualistic participation in the Holy Communion, as per the practices of one’s sect and denomination, that makes a person grow and be strongly rooted in the Lord; it is only by “eating” the lamb, i.e., by seriously and diligently studying the Word of God and then obeying it at all costs, that one can remain firm and established in the Lord, even in the “night”, and eventually be delivered, instead of falling away.

All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see more from these verse, Exodus 12:8-10. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual; and are ready and prepared to stand before the Lord and answer for your life. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
