सुसमाचार से संबंधित शिक्षाएँ – 32

 

    सुसमाचार से सम्बन्धित बाइबल की शिक्षाओं पर विचार करते हुए, हमने पहले के लेखों में देखा है कि सुसमाचार का मर्म या सार हमें 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-4 तथा गलतियों 1:4 में दिया गया है। हमने यह भी देखा है कि सुसमाचार, जैसा कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:3-4 में लिखा है, पवित्र शास्त्र के अनुसार है, अर्थात बाद में परमेश्वर के वचन में जोड़ी गई बात नहीं, बल्कि पुराने नियम में उसके बारे में पहले से बताया गया है। हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-2 पर विचार करते समय, देखा है कि सुसमाचार हमें परमेश्वर के द्वारा दिया गया है, और जिस रूप में परमेश्वर ने दिया है, उसी रूप में वचन की सेवकाई करने वालों को उसे प्रचार करना है, और सुनने वालों को उसे ग्रहण करना है। किसी के भी द्वारा कोई अन्य सुसमाचार-वृतान्त रचने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है, और न ही परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए सुसमाचार में कोई बदलाव, कोई ‘सुधार’ किया जाना चाहिए, किसी के भी द्वारा नहीं, कभी भी नहीं, किसी भी कारण से नहीं। किसी नए सुसमाचार की रचना करने को, या उसे बदलने को सुसमाचार को बिगाड़ना, और ऐसा करने वालों को श्रापित कहा गया है (गलतियों 1:6-9)। मानवीय बुद्धि और समझ के द्वारा सुसमाचार में कोई भी परिवर्तन करना, उसके प्रभाव को बढ़ाने की बजाए, उसे अप्रभावी बना देता है (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:17)। शैतान इस बात को भली-भान्ति जानता और समझता है, और इसी लिए अपना भरसक प्रयास करता है कि किसी प्रकार से लोगों के द्वारा उनका अपना ही सुसमाचार का संस्करण बनवाए, और/या जान-बूझ कर अथवा अनजाने में, सुसमाचार में बिगाड़ उत्पन्न करें। हाल ही के लेखों में हमने उन कुछ आम तरीकों को देखा था जिनके द्वारा शैतान लोगों से सुसमाचार में बिगाड़ लाने के प्रयास करता है। आज से, 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-2 पर वापस आते हुए, हम एक और बात को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे जो इन पदों में सुसमाचार के व्यक्ति के जीवन में प्रभावी होने के बारे में लिखी गई है।

    इन दो पदों में, पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित पौलुस के द्वारा यह लिखाया है कि सुसमाचार को ग्रहण करने वालों को उसमें स्थिर बने रहना चाहिए (पद 1), और उसे स्मरण भी रखना चाहिए, अर्थात उसे दृढ़ता से थामे रहना चाहिए (पद 2), अन्यथा सुसमाचार में विश्वास करना व्यर्थ होगा। इसलिए, सुसमाचार और परमेश्वर के वचन को मात्र सुन लेना, यह चाहे कितनी ही बार क्यों न किया जाए, व्यक्ति के जीवन में कभी प्रभावी नहीं होगा। आरम्भ के लेखों में, 2 इतिहास 34 में राजा योशिय्याह के जीवन से पश्चाताप या मन-फिराव के बारे में सीखते समय, हमने सच्चे पश्चाताप के चिह्नों को देखा था, कि उसमें परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा कायल होना, पश्चातापी व्यक्ति के जीवन में स्पष्ट परिवर्तन प्रकट होना, और उसके द्वारा अन्य लोगों को भी पश्चाताप करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना दिखाई देने लगते हैं। यहाँ 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-2 में हम एक बार फिर से परमेश्वर के वचन को थामे रहने और परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए सुसमाचार में स्थिर बने रहने के महत्व को देखते हैं। याकूब ने भी परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन करने, न कि केवल उसे सुनने वाले होने के महत्व को दिखाया है (याकूब 1:22-25)। इसे समझना और अपने जीवन में इसे लागू करना बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि अनेकों कपटी या निष्ठाहीन मसीही विश्वासी, तथा ईसाई या मसीही धर्म का पालन करने वाले लोग, असंख्य बार, अनेकों अवसरों पर, अपने डिनॉमिनेशन की पुस्तक में से अपने सिद्धान्तों को, उसमें लिखी पश्चाताप और पापों के अंगीकार की प्रार्थनाओं को, और अपने आप को परमेश्वर को समर्पित कर देने के निर्णयों को पढ़ते हैं, ताकि अपने डिनॉमिनेशन की रीतियों और रिवाज़ों को पूरा करें। किन्तु वास्तविकता में, उनके जीवन पहले के समान ही, अपरिवर्तित, बने रहते हैं, सच्चे पश्चाताप के चिह्न उनके जीवनों में नहीं पाए जाते हैं। उनमें कोई भी आत्मिक वृद्धि दिखाई नहीं देती है, बस कुछ लोग “धार्मिक बनो, भले बनो, भला करो” के सिद्धान्त का अपने जीवनों में पालन करने के प्रयास करते हैं। लेकिन ये सभी यही सोचते हैं कि उन रीतियों और रिवाज़ों का पालन करने तथा उन सिद्धांतों और प्रार्थनाओं को पढ़ लेने के द्वारा उन्होंने भी सच्चा पश्चाताप किया है, और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो गए हैं। ये वे केवल सुनने वाले हैं जो अपने आप को धोखा देते हैं, जो उन्हें प्रचार किये गए सुसमाचार और परमेश्वर के वचन को थामे नहीं रहते हैं, उस में स्थिर बने नहीं रहते हैं।

    प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने मत्ती 13:3-9, 18-23 में, बीज – परमेश्वर का वचन, बोने वाले के दृष्टान्त में, 4 प्रकार की भूमियों की बात कही थी। बीज बोने वाले ने अपने बीज को चारों भूमियों पर बोया; मार्ग के किनारे की पहली भूमि ने तो वचन को अपने अन्दर ग्रहण ही नहीं किया और आकाश के पक्षियों ने उसे उठा लिया; दूसरी और तीसरी प्रकार की भूमि ने अपने अन्दर बीज को ग्रहण तो किया, और उसे अंकुरित भी होने दिया, किन्तु बीज बढ़कर फलवन्त नहीं हो सका और अन्ततः नष्ट हो गया; केवल चौथी प्रकार की भूमि में ही बीज बढ़कर फलवन्त होने पाया। पहले तीन उन लोगों को दिखाते हैं जो उन्हें प्रचार किये गए परमेश्वर के वचन को थामे नहीं रहते हैं, सुसमाचार में स्थिर बने नहीं रहते हैं। परमेश्वर का वचन उनमें बढ़ता और फलवन्त नहीं होता है, वरन निष्फल और व्यर्थ हो जाता है; इसे ही पौलुस, 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:2 में, “तुम्हारा विश्वास करना व्यर्थ हुआ” कहता है। जैसा याकूब ने लिखा है, ये परमेश्वर के वचन को केवल “सुनने वाले” ही हैं, उसका “पालन करने” वाले नहीं, और इस प्रकार से वे स्वयं को धोखा देते हैं (याकूब 1:22)।

    अगले लेख में हम बाइबल से उन लोगों के कुछ और उदाहरणों को देखेंगे जिन्होंने प्रभु के पीछे चलने वाले होने का दावा तो किया, किन्तु वे थे नहीं, और समय के साथ उनकी वास्तविकता, विभिन्न प्रकार से प्रकट हो गई।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 32

 

    While considering Biblical teachings related to the gospel, we have seen in earlier articles that the crux of the gospel has been given to us in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and Galatians 1:4. We have also seen that the gospel, as it says in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 is according to the Scriptures, i.e., is not a later addition to God’s Word, but has been foretold in the Old Testament. In considering 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, we had seen that the gospel has been given to us by God, and is meant to be preached by the ministers of God’s Word, and received by the listeners, in the same form as God as given it. There is no need for anyone to create some other gospel narrative, nor should the God given gospel be altered or modified in any way, by anyone, on any grounds. Creating another gospel narrative, or modifying it in any way has been called perverting the gospel, and those who do this have been called cursed (Galatians 1:6-9). Any use of human wisdom and understanding to alter the gospel in any manner, only serves to render it ineffective (1 Corinthians 1:17), instead of making it more effective. Satan knows and understands this very well, and therefore tries his utmost to have people create their own version of the gospel, and/or pervert the God given gospel. In the recent articles we have seen some of the common ways in which Satan gets people to pervert the gospel, knowingly, or unknowingly. Coming back to 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, from today we will begin to see another thing mentioned here, for the gospel to be effective in a person’s life.

    In these two verses, we see that the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul has had it written down, that the receivers of the gospel must stand firm in the gospel (vs. 1), and hold fast to the gospel-Word that is preached to them (vs. 2), else believing in the gospel is vain. So, just hearing the gospel and God’s Word, no matter how many times that is done, will never be effective in a person’s life. Earlier, while considering about repentance, through King Josiah’s life as given in 2 Chronicles 34, we had seen that the hallmarks of true repentance are being convicted by God’s Word despite being religious and devout, the changes true repentance brings in the repenting person’s life, and he develops a desire to encourage others to repent as well. Here, in 1 Corinthians 15:1-2, we once again see the importance of standing in and holding fast to the God’s Word and the God given gospel. James has also pointed out the importance of being the doers of God’s Word, instead of merely being listeners (James 1:22-25). It is very important to understand this and apply it in one’s life, since amongst the insincere Believers, and the followers of the Christian religion, countless times, on various occasions, people read out aloud their creeds, their prayers of repentance and confession of sins, and their decisions of submitting their lives to God, from their denominational books, to fulfil their denominational rituals. But in reality, their lives remain the same, unchanged, the hallmarks of true repentance remain missing from their lives. There is no spiritual growth evident in them, other than some trying to follow the “be religious, be good, and do good” dictum in their lives. But by virtue of having participated in those rituals, spoken out those creeds and prayers, they think and believe that they too have repented and become acceptable to God. They are the listeners who deceive themselves, who do not stand in the truth of the gospel, who do not hold fast the Word that is preached to them in God’s Word the Bible.

    The Lord Jesus in the parable of the sower of the seed – God’s Word, in Matthew 13:3-9, 18-23; spoke of 4 kinds of soils. The sower sowed his seed on all 4 kinds of soils; the first kind, by the wayside, never received the seed, and the birds of the air ate it away; the second and third kind did receive the seed, took it within themselves, allowed it to sprout, but the seed could not grow to bear fruit in them and eventually was wasted; it was in the fourth kind of soil that the seed could not only sprout and grow, but also multiply and bring forth fruit. The first three represent those who do not hold fast to the Word preached to them, who do not take a stand in the gospel for God. God’s Word does not multiply and bear fruit for God in their lives, but is wasted, goes vain; this is what Paul means to say when he writes “unless you believed in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:2). As James has said, these are the “hearers” of God’s Word, not the “doers” and thus they only deceive themselves (James 1:22).

    In the next article we will see some more examples from the Bible of those claimed to the followers of the Lord, but were not, and with time, in various ways, their truth became evident.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    हम देखते आ रहे हैं कि किस प्रकार से शैतान लोगों के मानों में सन्देह उत्पन्न करता है कि किसी तरह से उन्हें सुसमाचार पर विश्वास करने से रोके रहे। लेकिन उसकी गढ़ी गई झूठी कहानियाँ, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में दिए गए तथ्यों के सामने टिक नहीं पाती हैं, और बाइबल से उनकी जाँच होने पर वे सब झूठी ठहरती हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि शैतानी धारणा  कि प्रभु यीशु क्रूस पर केवल बेहोश हुआ था, मरा नहीं था, और कब्र में होश आने के बाद वह बाहर आ गया, बाइबल में दिए गए तथ्यों के सामने बिलकुल बेबुनियाद और असंभव है। यदि प्रभु यीशु मरे नहीं, तो फिर पुनरुत्थान भी नहीं हुआ (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:12-17), तो फिर मानवजाति के पापों का प्रायश्चित भी नहीं हुआ, और सारा सुसमाचार एक झूठ बन गया; एक धोखा जो परमेश्वर के नाम में मनुष्यों को दिया गया। एक अन्य भी तरीका है जिसके द्वारा शैतान प्रभु यीशु की शारीरिक मृत्यु, गाड़े जाने, और जी उठने पर सन्देह लाता है, और वह भी परमेश्वर के प्रति भक्ति और श्रद्धा के बहाने से। आज हम इसी झूठी धारणा को देखेंगे, और यह भी कि कैसे यह भी बाइबल के तथ्यों के सामने टिक नहीं सकता है।

    जबकि सुसमाचारों पर शैतानी हमलों में, जिन्हें हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं, शैतान ने लोगों को प्रभु यीशु के देह में आने को मान लेने दिया था, अर्थात उसने इस बात का इनकार नहीं किया था कि यीशु देह में इस पृथ्वी पर आया था। और तब सुसमाचार का इनकार करवाने के लिए उसने या तो सुसमाचार को, उसमें कुछ जोड़ने अथवा उस में से कुछ निकाल लेने के द्वारा बिगाड़ना चाहा; या फिर, कुछ अन्य गढ़ी हुई कहानियों के द्वारा उसने प्रभु यीशु के मारे जाने, गाड़े जाने, और जी उठने पर सन्देह उत्पन्न करना चाहा है। सुसमाचार पर किए गए एक अन्य प्रकार के हमले में, शैतान ने सुसमाचार को नकारने का प्रयास यह कहने के द्वारा किया है कि प्रभु यीशु मानव देह में होकर पृथ्वी पर नहीं आया। प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने, पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा इस धोखे के बारे में लिखा है; वह कहता है “हे प्रियो, हर एक आत्मा की प्रतीति न करो: वरन आत्माओं को परखो, कि वे परमेश्वर की ओर से हैं कि नहीं; क्योंकि बहुत से झूठे भविष्यद्वक्ता जगत में निकल खड़े हुए हैं। परमेश्वर का आत्मा तुम इसी रीति से पहचान सकते हो, कि जो कोई आत्मा मान लेती है, कि यीशु मसीह शरीर में हो कर आया है वह परमेश्वर की ओर से है। और जो कोई आत्मा यीशु को नहीं मानती, वह परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं; और वही तो मसीह के विरोधी की आत्मा है; जिस की चर्चा तुम सुन चुके हो, कि वह आने वाला है: और अब भी जगत में है।” (1 यूहन्ना 4:1-3)। ध्यान कीजिए कि शैतान यह नहीं कह रहा है कि प्रभु यीशु पृथ्वी नहीं आया; बल्कि यह कि प्रभु यीशु देह में होकर नहीं आया; और यूहन्ना बड़ी दृढ़ता से स्पष्ट कहता है कि जो भी आत्मा प्रभु के देह में आने का इनकार करती है, वह परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं बल्कि मसीह विरोधी की आत्मा है, शैतानी है।

    शैतान ने लोगों के सामने एक बहुत भक्ति और श्रद्धापूर्ण धारणा रखी, कि वे उसके झूठ पर विश्वास कर लें। शैतान का कहना था कि परमेश्वर इतना पवित्र, इतना महिमित और महान है, इतना सर्वोच्च है, कि वह पापमय देह में नीचे नहीं आ सकता है, पापमय मनुष्यों के साथ उनके समान नहीं रह सकता है, और वह पवित्र परमेश्वर जो कभी मर नहीं सकता है वह एक अपराधी के समान नहीं मरेगा। यह कहना कि परमेश्वर मनुष्य बनकर आया, परमेश्वर का निरादर करना, उसे अपवित्र करना है। इसलिए परमेश्वर केवल आत्मा होकर ही पृथ्वी पर आया था, किन्तु मनुष्यों ने समझा कि वह देह में आया है। इस प्रकार से शैतान प्रभु यीशु के पूर्णतः परमेश्वर और पूर्णतः मनुष्य होने का इनकार करने का प्रयास करता है, और उसके बलिदान की मृत्यु के महत्व को झुठला देना चाहता है। यदि प्रभु यीशु पूर्णतः परमेश्वर और पूर्णतः मनुष्य नहीं होते, तो वे शारीरिक रीति से मरे नहीं होते, शरीर में जी भी नहीं उठे होते, मनुष्यों के पापों के दण्ड को कभी नहीं चुकाया नहीं होता; और इससे सुसमाचार झूठा हो जाता।

    किन्तु परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल बहुत स्पष्ट दिखाता है कि यह शैतानी धारणा पूर्णतः असंभव और अस्वीकार्य है। प्रभु के पृथ्वी पर आने के समय पर वह कहता है कि परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए एक देह तैयार की (इब्रानियों 10:5), और उसी देह में वह मरियम के गर्भ में होकर आया (लूका 1:30-35)। प्रभु का पानी में बपतिस्मा हुआ था (मत्ती 3:16), जो सदेह होने के द्वारा ही संभव है। प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने, जिसने साढ़े-तीन वर्ष प्रभु के साथ बिताए और प्रभु के पकड़वाए जाने से पहले शिष्यों के साथ अंतिम भोज में प्रभु की छाती पर अपना सर झुका रखा था (यूहन्ना 13:23), अपनी पत्री के आरम्भ में लिखता है, “उस जीवन के वचन के विषय में जो आदि से था, जिसे हम ने सुना, और जिसे अपनी आंखों से देखा, वरन जिसे हम ने ध्यान से देखा; और हाथों से छूआ” (1 यूहन्ना 1:1)। यूहन्ना तथा अन्य शिष्यों ने, तथा अन्य अनेकों लोगों ने प्रभु को देखा, सुना और छूआ था (लूका 8:45)। वे जानते थे कि वह देह में है, कोई आत्मा नहीं है। उन्होंने उसे आश्चर्यकर्म करते, रोटी और मछली को लेकर तोड़ते और लोगों की भीड़ को भोजन खिलाते, बच्चों के सिर पर हाथ रखते और बच्चों को गोद में उठाते हुए (मरकुस 10:14-16) देखा था। उन्होंने अनेकों तरीकों से जाना था कि वे एक सदेह मनुष्य के साथ व्यवहार कर रहे हैं, न कि किसी आत्मा के साथ। अपने पुनरुत्थान के बाद, प्रभु ने स्वयं उन से भोजन मांग कर उनके सामने खाया, यह दिखाने के लिए कि वे सदेह जीवित हो कर आए हैं (लूका 24:36-43)। उन्होंने अपने शिष्य थोमा के सन्देह का निवारण किया, और उस पर तथा अन्यों पर यह प्रमाणित कर दिया कि वे सदेह पुनरुत्थान होकर आए हैं (यूहन्ना 20:24-29)।

    इसलिए बाइबल में पर्याप्त प्रमाण हैं कि प्रभु यीशु वास्तव में सदेह ही पृथ्वी पर आए थे, न कि उनका सदेह होना कोई काल्पनिक बात थी। इस गढ़ी हुई धार्मिकता और भक्ति की झूठी धारणा के स्वीकार्य होने का कोई आधार नहीं है। अगले लेख में हम सुसमाचार पर विश्वास करने के बारे में विचार ज़ारी रखेंगे।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 31

 

    We have been seeing how Satan tries to bring in doubts in people’s hearts to keep them from believing in the gospel, through various concocted stories, that do not stand up to the scrutiny of the facts given in God’s Word the Bible. In the last article we have seen how the devious lie of the “Swoon Theory” that the Lord Jesus did not die on the cross, but only became unconscious, and then revived in the tomb and walked out of it, is utterly implausible and impossible in face of Biblical details related to the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord. Had the Lord not died, then there would be no resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:12-17), no atonement for the sins of mankind, and the whole gospel would have become a lie; a hoax enacted upon mankind in the name of God. There is another way in which Satan tries to create doubts upon the physical death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and that too in the garb of piety and reverence for God. We will see this false notion, and how it fails to stand up to Biblical facts today.

    While in the previously considered attacks on the gospel, Satan had let the physical existence of the Lord Jesus be accepted by the people, i.e., had not denied that the Lord Jesus came to earth, in the flesh as a man; and then to deny the gospel, he had tried to either alter the gospel by adding to it or taking away from it; or, in some other concocted stories, tried to create disbelief in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord. In another kind of attack on the gospel, Satan tries to discredit the gospel by saying that the Lord Jesus did not come in the flesh as a man. The Apostle John, through the Holy Spirit had spoken against this deception; he says in 1 John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” Notice, Satan is not alleging that the Lord Jesus Christ did not come to earth; rather, what he is alleging is that the Lord did not come in the flesh; and the spirit that denies the coming of the Lord in the flesh, John categorically calls the spirit of the Antichrist, a satanic spirit.

    Satan had put up a very pious and reverential sounding theory to make people believe his lie. Satan’s theory was that God is so holy, so exalted and glorious, so magnificent, that He cannot come down in sinful flesh, live with and as sinful men do, and the Holy God who cannot die will not suffer death as a criminal. To say that God came as a man would be a desecration and disrespect of God; so, God only appeared as a spirit to men, and men thought that He was in the flesh. Thereby Satan tries to deny the Lord Jesus being fully God and fully man, and tries to take away the significance of His sacrificial death. If the Lord Jesus was not fully God and fully man, then He could not have physically died and then risen from the dead in the bodily form, would not have paid the penalty for the sins of mankind; and thus, the gospel would become false.

    But God's Word the Bible very clearly shows how this satanic notion is untenable and unacceptable. At the time of Lord’s coming to earth, He says that God prepared a body for Him (Hebrews 10:5), in which He came into the world through the womb of Mary (Luke 1:30-35). The Lord had been baptized in water (Matthew 3:16), which is only possible for a physical body. The Apostle John, who had spent about three and a half years with the Lord Jesus, and had rested his head on the Lord’s chest at the time of the Last Supper (John 13:23), at the beginning of his first letter writes, “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life” (1 John 1:1). John and the other disciples, and many other people had seen, heard, and touched the Lord (Luke 8:45). They knew that He was in the flesh, and not a spirit. They had seen Him perform miracles, feed the multitudes by breaking fish and bread, and lay His hands on children’s heads take children up in His arms (Mark 10:14-16). They had in many ways known that they were living and interacting with a physical person and not a spirit. After His resurrection, the Lord Himself asked for food and ate before them to demonstrate to them that He had resurrected in the flesh, and said that He was not in front of them as a spirit (Luke 24:36-43). He satisfied the doubts that His disciple Thomas had, and proved to Him and others that He was resurrected in the flesh (John 20:24-29).

    So, there is ample proof in the Bible that the Lord Jesus did indeed come in the flesh, and was not imagined to be in the flesh. This false and satanic notion, of apparent piety and reverence does have any grounds to stand upon. In the next article, we will continue to consider about believing in the gospel.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम सुसमाचार में बिगाड़ और सुसमाचार के प्रति सन्देह उत्पन्न करके सुसमाचार को अप्रभावी बनाने के लिए शैतान जिन युक्तियों का उपयोग करता है, उन्हें देख रहे हैं। पिछले लेख से हमने प्रचलित की गई इस झूठी कहानी, जिसे बेहोशी की धारणा भी कहते हैं, के बारे में देखना आरम्भ किया है कि प्रभु यीशु क्रूस पर चढ़ाया तो गया किन्तु मरा नहीं, केवल बेहोश हुआ, उसी दशा में कब्र में रख दिया गया, और वहाँ उसे होश आया, और तब वह निकलकर कब्र से बाहर आ गया। इसे प्रभु के शिष्यों ने उसके जी उठने के रूप में फैला दिया। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि क्रूस की मृत्यु कितनी क्रूर और पीड़ादायक मृत्यु होती थी, तथा रोमी सैनिक उसकी मृत्यु को निश्चित कर लेने के बाद ही क्रूस से व्यक्ति की देह को उतारते थे, अन्यथा नहीं। इसलिए यह विचार रखना कि प्रभु मरा नहीं केवल बेहोश हुआ था पूर्णतः असम्भव और अस्वीकार्य है। आज हम इसी गलत धारणा से सम्बन्धित कुछ अन्य, प्रभु यीशु के जी उठने के बारे में प्रचलित गलत धारणाओं को देखेंगे, तथा बाइबल के आधार पर इन धारणाओं को गलत प्रमाणित करने को भी देखेंगे।

    प्रभु के मारे जाने और गाड़े जाने के बाद यहूदी धर्म-गुरुओं को आशंका थी कि प्रभु के शिष्य आकर उसकी देह को उठा ले जाएंगे और कह देंगे कि वह जी उठा है। प्रभु के पुनरुत्थान की भविष्यवाणी पवित्र शास्त्र में, भजन 16:10; 49:15 में की गई थी। इसलिए उन लोगों के लिए प्रभु का पुनरुत्थान इस बात का ठोस प्रमाण होना चाहिए था कि प्रभु ही वह प्रतिज्ञा किया हुआ मसीहा है। लेकिन वे इस बात को मानने के लिए तैयार ही नहीं थे। इसलिए उन्होंने कब्र के मुंह पर न केवल एक भारी पत्थर लगवा दिया, वरन कब्र को मोहर-बंद करवा दिया, और वहाँ पहरा बैठा दिया “दूसरे दिन जो तैयारी के दिन के बाद का दिन था, महायाजकों और फरीसियों ने पिलातुस के पास इकट्ठे हो कर कहा। हे महाराज, हमें स्मरण है, कि उस भरमाने वाले ने अपने जीते जी कहा था, कि मैं तीन दिन के बाद जी उठूंगा। सो आज्ञा दे कि तीसरे दिन तक कब्र की रखवाली की जाए, ऐसा न हो कि उसके चेले आकर उसे चुरा ले जाएं, और लोगों से कहने लगें, कि वह मरे हुओं में से जी उठा है: तब पिछला धोखा पहिले से भी बुरा होगा। पिलातुस ने उन से कहा, तुम्हारे पास पहरूए तो हैं जाओ, अपनी समझ के अनुसार रखवाली करो। सो वे पहरूओं को साथ ले कर गए, और पत्थर पर मुहर लगाकर कब्र की रखवाली की” (मत्ती 27:62-66)। 

    इन तथ्यों के संदर्भ में हम उस मिथ्या धारणा की ओर आते हैं, जिसके अंतर्गत लोग कहते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु क्रूस पर मरे नहीं, केवल बेहोश हुए, और फिर कब्र के ठन्डे वातावरण में कुछ समय के बाद उन्हें होश आया, और तब वे कब्र से बाहर निकाल कर आ गए, कहीं चले गए, और शिष्यों ने यह कह दिया कि वे जीवित हो उठे हैं। किन्तु उपरोक्त तथ्यों के सामने यह धारणा पूर्णतः निराधार है, बिना तथ्यों का ध्यान किए भ्रम फैलाने के लिए बनाई गई है। ध्यान कीजिए कि:

·        रोमी गवर्नर पिलातुस के कहने पर सूबेदार और सिपाहियों ने जाकर यह निश्चित किया कि प्रभु यीशु वास्तव में मर गया है। वे रोमी सैनिक क्रूस पर चढ़ाए हुओं के मरे अथवा जीवित होने की पहचान में अनुभवी थे; उन्होंने देखा कि प्रभु यीशु मर गए हैं, इसलिए उनके साथ क्रूसित किए गए शेष दोनों डाकुओं के समान, उन्होंने प्रभु यीशु की टांगें नहीं तोड़ीं, वरन छाती को भाले से छेद अवश्य दिया, और फिर पिलातुस को बता दिया कि प्रभु यीशु मर गया है। यदि उन्होंने पिलातुस से झूठ बोल होता, और यह बात सामने आ जाती, तो उस सूबेदार और उन सिपाहियों की मौत निश्चित थी, इसलिए वे प्रभु यीशु की मृत्यु का झूठा समाचार पिलातुस को देने का जोखिम नहीं उठा सकते थे।

·        प्रभु की देह को केवल कफन के कपड़े से ढाँप कर नहीं, बल्कि पचास सेर सामग्री में और कपड़े में लपेट कर कब्र में रखा गया था। क्या यह संभव कि कब्र के अंदर होश आने पर सारे शरीर की कोड़ों से उधेड़ दी गई स्थिति, और हाथों तथा पैरों में शरीर का वज़न सहन कर सकने लायक मोटी कीलों के घावों वाला व्यक्ति, जिसकी छाती को रोमी भाले ने छेद दिया हो, वह बिना किसी सहायता के, तीसरे दिन अकेले अपने आप ही सूखे हुए खून से कड़े हुए पचास सेर सामग्री तथा लिपटे हुए कपड़े को खोल कर उतार देगा और खड़ा हो जाएगा?

·        क्या इतनी यातना सहने, शरीर पर गहरे गंभीर घाव होने, और फिर इतना लहू बह जाने, तथा बिना खाए-पिए तीन दिन यूँ ही पड़े रहने के बाद किसी भी मनुष्य के शरीर में यह कर पाने की सामर्थ्य बचेगी?

·        क्या ऐसा घायल और निर्बल व्यक्ति अंदर से अकेले ही कब्र के मुँह पर लगे मोहर बंद भारी पत्थर को, जिसे हटा पाने की असमर्थता तीन स्त्रियाँ, मरियम मगदलीनी, याकूब की माता मरियम, और सलोमी व्यक्त करते हुई कब्र पर आ रही थीं (मरकुस 16:1-3), उसे वह स्वयं ही लुढ़का कर बाहर आने पाएगा? उन घायल हाथों और पैरों में, उसे भेदी गई छाती में, और लहू बहने से दुर्बल हो गई देह में क्या यह सब करने की शक्ति एवं क्षमता शेष रही होगी?

·        यदि एक बार को मान भी लिया जाए कि प्रभु यीशु अपने घायल हाथों से उस भारी पत्थर को लुढ़का कर, घायल पैरों पर चलकर बाहर आ गया, तो फिर उन पहरेदारों ने उसे पकड़ क्यों नहीं लिया जो कब्र के बाहर तैनात थे? वह अकेला और घायल, दुर्बल था; और पहरेदार कई थे - यीशु को पकड़ लेने में उन्हें क्या कठिनाई हो सकती थी?

किसी भी रीति से प्रभु यीशु के क्रूस पर मारे जाने, और दफनाए जाने से संबंधित तथ्य इस मिथ्या धारणा को कोई समर्थन प्रदान नहीं करते हैं कि वे क्रूस पर मरे नहीं थे, केवल बेहोश हुए थे, और फिर अन्ततः जब उन्हें होश आया तो उठाकर बाहर आ गए और कहीं चले गए। परमेश्वर का वचन पर्याप्त प्रमाण देता है, और कोई भी गढ़ी गई मिथ्या धारणा वचन द्वारा जाँचे जाने के समक्ष टिक नहीं पाती है, उसे चाहे कितने भी तर्कसंगत तरीके और चतुराई से क्यों न प्रस्तुत किया जाए।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 30

 

    In the past few articles, we have been considering the ways by which Satan gets the gospel perverted and creates doubts about it amongst the people. Since the previous article we have started to consider a popularized false notion that is also commonly known as the Swoon Theory, that though the Lord Jesus was crucified, but He did not die on the cross, He only became unconscious, and in that unconscious state He was placed in the tomb, and there He regained consciousness, and then He came out of the tomb. The disciples of the Lord Jesus claimed this as His resurrection. We have seen in the last article how cruel and excruciating the death of the cross was, and that the Roman soldiers would only bring down the body of the person from the cross after they had ascertained his death, not before that. Therefore, to think that the Lord had not died, but had only become unconscious is absolutely untenable, and unacceptable. Today we will see some other things related to this false notion, about the Lord’s resurrection, and also see how to Biblically disprove these false notions.

    After the death and burial of the Lord, the religious leaders were worried that the Lord’s disciples will come and steal away His body, and claim that He has risen from the dead. Lord’s resurrection was prophesied in the Scriptures, in Psalms 16:10; 49:15; therefore, for these people, His resurrection should have been the ultimate proof of the Lord being the Messiah. But they were not willing to consider it. So, they not only had a heavy stone rolled on mouth of the grave, but also had it sealed, and put guards to secure the grave, “On the next day, which followed the Day of Preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together to Pilate, saying, "Sir, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, 'After three days I will rise.' Therefore, command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night and steal Him away, and say to the people, 'He has risen from the dead.' So the last deception will be worse than the first." Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how." So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard” (Matthew 27:62-66). 

    Now bearing the above Biblical facts in mind, let us turn back to the false notion that people have, that the Lord Jesus only became unconscious on the cross, did not die, and in the cool environment of the grave, He regained consciousness, revived, came out of the grave, and walked away to some unknown place, and the disciples spread the claim that He had risen from the dead. But in light of the above facts, this notion is absolutely baseless, is a concocted story spread to deceive people. Consider some things here:

·        On the orders of Pilate, the Roman Governor, the soldiers went to ascertain that the Lord had indeed died on the cross. Those Roman soldiers were experienced in recognizing whether the person hanging on the cross was dead or not. They broke the legs of the other two criminals crucified with the Lord, but did not break the legs of the Lord, still they did pierce His chest to confirm His death, and told the same to Pilate. Had they lied to Pilate, and had this at any time come to the knowledge of Pilate, then that Centurion and those soldiers would certainly have been killed as punishment; so, there is no way they could have taken the risk of giving a false report to Pilate and risked their lives because of it.

·        The Lord’s body was not just covered, but wrapped in linen cloth along with a hundred pounds of material. Now, is it at all possible that a person whose body had been badly bruised by the scourging, whose hands and feet had been pierced with thick nails, by which he hung on the cross, and whose chest had been pierced by a Roman spear, he, without any help, on the third day, would be able to unwrap himself from the blood crusted cloth and hundred pounds of material, and stand up?

·        After having suffered all this excruciating torture, severe wounds, and blood loss, and lying without any food or water for three days, would there be any strength left in any person to still be able to do this?

·        Would such a bruised, battered, and weak person, all by himself, be able to get up, walk, push away the heavy stone from the mouth of the grave, which three women, Mary Magdelene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were wondering how to get rolled away (Mark 16:1-3)? Would he have any strength left in his body to do any of this?

·        Even if only for arguments sake, it is accepted that the Lord could do all this, push away the heavy stone with His pierced hands, and walk with His nail-pierced feet and step out of the grave, then what about the guards placed there? Why did they not catch and hold Him down? He was alone, bruised, battered, and weak, and the guards were many - so why could they not catch the Lord?

    Whichever way you look at it, there is just no support for this concocted story that the Lord did not die on the cross, only became unconscious and eventually got up and walked away from the grave. God’s Word gives ample evidence, and no concocted story can stand the scrutiny of God’s Word, no matter how logically and cleverly it is presented.

    In the next article we will consider another satanic notion that the Lord Jesus did not really come in a human body; this was just a wrong belief on part of the people.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life.     वर्तमान में हम सुसमाचार, जो हर एक विश्वास करने वाले के लिए उद्धार के निमित्त परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य है (रोमियों 1:15-16), से सम्बन्धित बाइबल की कुछ शिक्षाओं को देख रहे हैं। शैतान इस सामर्थ्य के बारे में भली-भान्ति जानता है, और इसलिए अपना भरसक प्रयास करता है कि सुसमाचार प्रभावी रीति से, जैसा बाइबल के अनुसार उसे उपयोग होना चाहिए, वैसे उपयोग न होने पाए। पिछले लेखों में हमने उन कुछ तरीकों को देखा है जिनके द्वारा शैतान लोगों से सुसमाचार में बिगाड़ उत्पन्न करवाता है। सुसमाचार को प्रभावी होने से रोकने का शैतान का एक तरीका है कि लोगों के द्वारा उसमें कुछ परिवर्तन करवा के उसे बिगाड़ दे, लोगों को उकसाए कि वे उस में अपनी बुद्धि, समझ, और तात्कालिक परिस्थिति के अनुसार, या तो कुछ जोड़ दें अथवा उस में से कुछ हटा लें। शैतान का एक अन्य तरीका है कि प्रभु यीशु के बारे में ऐसी गलत शिक्षाएँ फैलाए जो लोगों में सुसमाचार के मर्म – प्रभु यीशु के मारे जाने, गाड़े जाने, और जी उठने, पर सन्देह उत्पन्न करें। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि इस उद्देश्य से एक गलत शिक्षा जो उसने फैलाई है कि प्रभु यीशु क्रूस पर नहीं चढ़ाया गया था, वरन उनके स्थान पर कोई और क्रूस पर मारा गया था; और हमने सुसमाचारों में दिए गए वर्णनों से देखा था कि यह क्यों गलत और अस्वीकार्य है। आज से हम इसी के समान एक अन्य गलत शिक्षा को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे जो प्रभु यीशु के मारे जाने, गाड़े जाने, और जी उठने पर सन्देह उत्पन्न करने के प्रयास के लिए है।

    शैतान द्वारा एक अन्य धारणा प्रचलित की गई है कि प्रभु यीशु क्रूस पर चढ़ाए तो गए थे किन्तु वे क्रूस पर मरे नहीं, बस बेहोश हुए, और बाद में कब्र के ठन्डे वातावरण में होश में आकर, वे कब्र से बाहर आ गए, जिसे उनके शिष्यों ने उनके पुनरुत्थान के रूप में प्रस्तुत कर दिया। इस गढ़ी हुई कहानी के झूठे होने को समझने के लिए हमें यह देखना सहायक होगा कि उनके क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने से पहले और मर जाने के समय तक प्रभु यीशु ने क्या-क्या सहा। यद्यपि इसका उल्लेख पिछले लेख में किया गया है, किन्तु यहाँ हम इसे कुछ विस्तार से और सम्बन्धित बाइबल के लेखों के हवालों के साथ देखेंगे।

    क्रूस की मृत्यु रोमी साम्राज्य के समय में समाज के सबसे निकृष्ट अपराधियों को दी जाती थी, और इसे सबसे अधिक अपमानजनक मृत्यु माना जाता था। क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने से पहले अपराधियों को बहुत मारा-पीटा जाता था, कोड़े लगाए जाते थे। उन कोड़ों के सिरों पर नुकीली वस्तुएं लगी होती थीं, जो कोड़े के शरीर पर पड़ने के वेग से खाल के अंदर धंस जाती थीं और जब कोड़े मारने वाला कोड़े को वापस खींचता था तो वे धँसी हुई नुकीली वस्तुएं खाल और माँस को फाड़ते हुए बाहर आती थीं। जब सिपाही यह सब कर चुकते थे, तब उस व्यक्ति को अपना काठ से बना क्रूस, अपनी कोड़ों की मार से चिथड़े हो चुकी पीठ पर लादे हुए क्रूसित होने के स्थान तक जाना पड़ता था, और वहाँ पर उसकी बाहें फैला कर हाथों में से होकर मोटी कीलें क्रूस के काठ में ठोक कर तथा पैरों को एक ऊपर दूसरा रख कर उनमें से भी मोटी कील क्रूस के काठ में ठोक कर उस क्रूस को सार्वजनिक स्थान पर धरती में गाड़कर खड़ा कर दिया जाता था। क्रूस पर चढ़ाए गए अपराधियों के प्राण तुरंत ही नहीं निकलते थे। यह बहुत ही पीड़ादायक मृत्यु होती थी। कोड़ों की मार से उधड़ा हुआ उसका बदन हर सांस के साथ खुरदरे काठ पर रगड़ता रहता था, और हर साँस पीड़ादायक होती थी। लटके होने के कारण, शरीर का सारा वज़न कीलों से ठोके हुए हाथों पर आता था, जो हाथों की पीड़ा को असहनीय बना देता था; राहत पाने के लिए यदि अपराधी पैरों का सहारा लेकर ऊपर को उचकने का प्रयास करता तो यही असहनीय पीड़ा फिर पैरों में भी होती, और इस सारी प्रक्रिया में उसका उधड़ा हुआ बदन और भी ज़ोर से क्रूस के काठ पर रगड़ खाता। अर्थात अपराधी कुछ भी करे, वह उसकी पीड़ा को और बढ़ाता ही था, किसी भी रीति से कोई राहत उसे नहीं मिल सकती थी। अंततः थके हुए और लहू बहने से कमज़ोर हो चुके, कीलों से ठुके हुए हाथों के भार टंगे हुए शरीर को सांस लेना भी भारी हो जाता था, और पैरों के सहारे थोड़ा सा उचक कर सांस लेने के प्रयास उसे सांस तो ले लेने देते थे, किन्तु साथ ही उसकी पीड़ा को बहुत बढ़ा भी देते थे। कुछ अपराधियों को इस स्थिति में टंगे हुए, तिल-तिल करके मरने में एक दिन से भी अधिक लग जाता था, और जब तक वो मर नहीं जाते थे, उन्हें क्रूस पर से उतारा नहीं जाता था। प्रभु यीशु ने यह सब जानते हुए भी, इस मृत्यु को स्वेच्छा से स्वीकार कर लिया जिससे हम मनुष्यों को अनन्त-काल की नरक की पीड़ा से बचने का मार्ग बनाकर सेंत-मेंत प्रदान कर सकें। 

    प्रभु यीशु को दोपहर में क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया, और उन्होंने लगभग तीन घंटे क्रूस पर टंगे रहने के बाद अपने प्राण त्याग दिए (मत्ती 27:45-50)। क्योंकि यहूदियों की व्यवस्था के अनुसार मृत्यु-दण्ड भुगतने वाले अपराधी की लाश को सूर्यास्त से पहले दफनाया जाता था (व्यवस्थाविवरण 21:22-23), और क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु के क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने से अगला दिन सबत का दिन था जिसमें यहूदी कोई भी कार्य नहीं करते थे, इसलिए प्रभु यीशु की देह को उसी संध्या, सूर्यास्त से पहले दफनाया जाना आवश्यक था। क्रूसित अपराधी की मृत्यु को कुछ शीघ्र कर देने के लिए रोमियों ने एक और पीड़ादायक विधि अपना रखी थी - वे अपराधी की टांगें तोड़ देते थे - पीड़ा भी होती थी, और अपराधी अब सांस लेने के लिए पैरों का बिल्कुल भी सहारा नहीं ले सकता था, शरीर पूर्णतः हाथों में ठुकी हुई कीलों के सहारे लटक जाता था, जो पीड़ा को बढ़ाता था, सांस लेने के लिए छाती को ठीक से फूलने नहीं देता था, जिससे सांस ठीक से नहीं आने पाती थी और व्यक्ति घुटन के अनुभव और तड़पने के साथ कुछ शीघ्र मर जाता था। यही करने सिपाही प्रभु यीशु के पास भी आए, परंतु उसे मरा हुआ पाकर उसकी टांगें तो नहीं तोड़ीं, किन्तु उसकी मृत्यु निश्चित कर लेने के लिए उसकी छाती में भाला मारा, “और इसलिये कि वह तैयारी का दिन था, यहूदियों ने पिलातुस से बिनती की कि उन की टांगे तोड़ दी जाएं और वे उतारे जाएं ताकि सबत के दिन वे क्रूसों पर न रहें, क्योंकि वह सबत का दिन बड़ा दिन था। सो सिपाहियों ने आकर पहिले की टांगें तोड़ीं तब दूसरे की भी, जो उसके साथ क्रूसों पर चढ़ाए गए थे। परन्तु जब यीशु के पास आकर देखा कि वह मर चुका है, तो उस की टांगें न तोड़ीं। परन्तु सिपाहियों में से एक ने बरछे से उसका पंजर बेधा और उस में से तुरन्त लहू और पानी निकला। जिसने यह देखा, उसी ने गवाही दी है, और उस की गवाही सच्ची है; और वह जानता है, कि सच कहता है कि तुम भी विश्वास करो। ये बातें इसलिये हुईं कि पवित्र शास्त्र की यह बात पूरी हो कि उस की कोई हड्डी तोड़ी न जाएगी। फिर एक और स्थान पर यह लिखा है, कि जिसे उन्होंने बेधा है, उस पर दृष्टि करेंगे” (यूहन्ना 19:31-37)।

    प्रभु यीशु की मृत्यु निश्चित हो जाने के बाद, प्रभु के दो अनुयायियों ने उनकी देह को पिलातुस से माँग लिया और सूर्य ढलने से पहले शीघ्रता से देह को पचास सेर सुगंध-द्रव्यों - गंधरस और एलवा में कफन में लपेटकर पास ही की एक कब्र में रख दिया “इन बातों के बाद अरमतियाह के यूसुफ ने, जो यीशु का चेला था, (परन्तु यहूदियों के डर से इस बात को छिपाए रखता था), पिलातुस से बिनती की, कि मैं यीशु की लोथ को ले जाऊं, और पिलातुस ने उस की बिनती सुनी, और वह आकर उस की लोथ ले गया। निकुदेमुस भी जो पहिले यीशु के पास रात को गया था पचास सेर के लगभग मिला हुआ गन्‍धरस और एलवा ले आया। तब उन्होंने यीशु की लोथ को लिया और यहूदियों के गाड़ने की रीति के अनुसार उसे सुगन्ध द्रव्य के साथ कफन में लपेटा। उस स्थान पर जहां यीशु क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया था, एक बारी थी; और उस बारी में एक नई कब्र थी; जिस में कभी कोई न रखा गया था। सो यहूदियों की तैयारी के दिन के कारण, उन्होंने यीशु को उसी में रखा, क्योंकि वह कब्र निकट थी” (यूहन्ना 19:38-42); “अरिमतिया का रहने वाला यूसुफ आया, जो प्रतिष्ठित मंत्री और आप भी परमेश्वर के राज्य की बाट जोहता था; वह हियाव कर के पिलातुस के पास गया और यीशु की लोथ मांगी। पिलातुस ने आश्चर्य किया, कि वह इतना शीघ्र मर गया; और सूबेदार को बुलाकर पूछा, कि क्या उसको मरे हुए देर हुई? सो जब सूबेदार के द्वारा हाल जान लिया, तो लोथ यूसुफ को दिला दी। तब उसने एक पतली चादर मोल ली, और लोथ को उतारकर उस चादर में लपेटा, और एक कब्र में जो चट्टान में खोदी गई थी रखा, और कब्र के द्वार पर एक पत्थर लुढ़का दिया” (मरकुस 15:43-46)।

    अगले लेख में हम प्रभु यीशु के मारे जाने, गाड़े जाने, और जी उठने से सम्बन्धित बाइबल में लिखे कुछ अन्य तथ्यों को भी देखेंगे, और फिर देखेंगे कि बाइबल के इन तथ्यों के समक्ष यह शिक्षा कि प्रभु यीशु क्रूस पर मरे नहीं, केवल बेहोश हुए थे, और फिर कब्र में होश में आने के बाद चलकर कब्र से बाहर आ गए, किस प्रकार से बिलकुल झूठी साबित होती है।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 29

 

    We are presently studying some Biblical teachings about the gospel, the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes (Romans 1:15-16). Satan knows this power very well, therefore tries his utmost to prevent the gospel from being used effectively, in the Biblical manner it should be used, to bring people to salvation. In the previous articles we have seen the various ways through which Satan induces people to pervert the gospel. One of the ways in which Satan prevents the gospel from being effective is by inducing people to pervert it, through using their wisdom, understanding, and the circumstances at hand to alter it by adding something to it or take something away from it. Another one of his methods is to spread false teachings about the Lord Jesus to create doubts about the crux of the gospel – the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. In the last article we had seen that to this end a teaching that he spreads is that not the Lord Jesus, but someone else was crucified in His place; and we had seen the fallacy of this contention through the Gospel accounts. Today we will begin to look at another similar false teaching, again intended to create doubts about the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.

    Another wrong notion spread by Satan is that though the Lord Jesus was crucified but He did not die on the cross; He only became unconscious and only appeared to be dead on the cross; later, in the cool environment of the tomb, He revived, and walked out of the tomb, which His disciples claimed as the Lord being resurrected. To understand the fallacy of this concocted story, it would help to understand what the Lord Jesus suffered before and during His crucifixion and death. Though it has been mentioned in the previous article, we will look into it in some detail with the relevant Bible references.

    In the days of the Roman empire, the death of the cross was awarded to the worst of criminals, and was considered the most humiliating of all death penalties. The criminals were severely beaten and scourged before being crucified. To scourge them, to the whips sharp objects were tied, and by the force of the whiplash, these sharp objects would get embedded into the skin and flesh of the criminal, and when the soldier scourging the criminal would pull back the whip for the next strike, those sharp objects would tear out the skin and flesh. After they had finished scourging the condemned criminal, he would then be made to bear his wooden cross on his back that had been torn up and raw from the scourging, and walk to the place of crucifixion. There his hands and feet would be spread out on the cross, and nailed with thick nails to the cross, and the cross was made to stand erect in a public place. The crucified criminal did not die immediately. This was a very painful and long-drawn means of inflicting death. With the raw back of the person rubbing against the rough wood of the cross with every breath, therefore, each breath was an agony. Because of the body hanging by the nailed hands, the body weight came onto the hands causing excruciating pain there; and if the man tried to brace himself up by taking the weight of the body onto the feet, the nail in the feet would cause similarly excruciating pain to occur in the feet; all the while his raw, bleeding back would be rubbing against the wood of the cross. So, whatever the crucified criminal did, it would only aggravate his pain, not relieve it. Eventually, exhausted by all this, he would not even be able to take full breaths and he would gradually die over a long period of time, at times, it would take more than a day to die, and they would be taken off the cross only after their death. The Lord Jesus, knowing all this, still willingly suffered this painful death, so that we could be provided with the way to escape the eternal torment of hell.

    The Lord Jesus was crucified in the afternoon, and after about three hours on the cross, He gave up His spirit (Matthew 27:45-50). Because, according to the Law of the Jews, the dead body had to be buried before sunset (Deuteronomy 21:22-23); and the next day was the sabbath day, in which no Jew would do any work, therefore, it was necessary to bury the body of the Lord the same evening before sunset. To hasten the death of the crucified person, the Romans had devised another agonizing method - they would break the legs of the crucified person. This would not only aggravate the pain, but would now also make it impossible for the person to brace himself up by pushing up on his nailed feet. The chest of the person, hanging by the nailed hands, would be stretched by the body weight, and not allow the person to breath adequately, and the person would soon succumb to this pain and choking sensation. The soldiers had come to do this to the Lord, but when they saw that He had already died, they did not do this, but to ascertain His death, they pierced His chest, “Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one of His bones shall be broken." And again, another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced."” (John 19:31-37).

    After it was confirmed that the Lord had died, two of His followers asked for His body from Pilate, and before sunset quickly wrapped it in a cloth with about a hundred pounds of mixture of myrrh and aloes and put His body in a nearby tomb “After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews' Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby” (John 19:38-42); “Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate marvelled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time. So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb” (Mark 15:43-46).

    In the next article, we will look at some more of the Biblical facts related to the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and then see how, in face of these Biblical facts this false teaching that the Lord did not die on the cross, but only became unconscious; then revived in the tomb, and walked out of tomb, utterly fails.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
