आराधना – प्रभावी सुसमाचार प्रचार के लिए

पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम परमेश्वर की आराधना करने के लाभ तथा प्राप्त होने वाले बातों के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं, और यह भी देखा है कि परमेश्वर क्यों चाहता है कि उसके लोगों की प्राथमिकता आराधक बनना हो, न कि केवल प्रार्थना करने वाले ही बने रहना। पिछले दो लेखों में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार से आराधना हमारी प्रार्थनाओं को प्रभावी बनाती है तथा परमेश्वर में हमारे भरोसे को दृढ़ बनाए रखती है और उन्नत करती है, जिससे फिर हमारे शैतान द्वारा परमेश्वर, उसके वचन, और उसके कार्यों पर अविश्वास तथा संदेहों में फंसाए जाकर पाप में गिर जाने से बचे रहते हैं। आज हम एक और लाभ के बारे में देखेंगे, जो हमारे व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन और प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास के जीवन के साथ संबंधित है; एक ऐसी बात के बारे में जो प्रभु यीशु के शिष्यों के लिए अनिवार्य है - प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने के द्वारा उद्धार पाने के सुसमाचार को फैलाना, जो कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह की, उसके सभी शिष्यों के लिए दी गई आज्ञा है (मत्ती 28:19-20; प्रेरितों1:8)। इस आम धारणा के विपरीत, यह केवल पास्टर या सेमनरी से प्रशिक्षण पाए हुए लोगों के लिए ही नहीं है! जब प्रभु यीशु ने यह आज्ञा दी थी, उस समय न तो कोई सेमनरी थीं और न ही प्रशिक्षण के कोई पाठ्यक्रम, लेकिन फिर भी सभी लोगों को हर परिस्थिति में यह करना ही था (प्रेरितों 8:3-4)। यह प्रभु की आज्ञा है कि जो कोई भी विश्वास के द्वारा उसका शिष्य बने, वह सुसमाचार का प्रचारक भी हो। हम यह कार्य मात्र औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए, या एक काम करने भर के लिए कर सकते हैं, और तब यह अप्रभावी तथा व्यर्थ होगा; या हम इसे प्रभावी और सार्थक रीति से कर सकते हैं। जो लोग प्रभु यीशु के शिष्य बनते हैं, उनके द्वारा सुसमाचार प्रचार और प्रसार की यह सेवकाई केवल प्रार्थना ही के द्वारा नहीं, वरन साथ ही आराधना के द्वारा सार्थक और प्रभावी होती है।

प्रभु यीशु ने अपने क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के सन्दर्भ में कहा था कि जब वह ऊंचे पर चढ़ाया जाएगा तब सभी लोगों को अपने पास खींचेगा (यूहन्ना 12:32); इस कथन का प्रतीकात्मक अर्थ एवं उपयोग भी है - जब हम प्रभु यीशु का गुणानुवाद करते हैं, उसे अपनी आराधना के द्वारा अपने जीवन और व्यवहार में ऊँचे पर उठाते हैं, तो यह लोगों को प्रभु की ओर आकर्षित करता है और सुसमाचार प्रचार को प्रभावी बना देता है।

हम प्रेरितों 16 अध्याय में पौलुस और सिलास के फिलिप्पी में जेल में डाले जाने की घटना से देखते हैं कि जब अपनी उस कष्टप्रद और दुखद विपरीत परिस्थिति - ऐसी स्थिति जिसमें सामान्यतः लोग असभ्य भाषा तथा परमेश्वर के प्रति अपमानजनक शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हैं, में भी उन्होंने प्रभु की स्तुति और आराधना की, भजन गाए, तो न केवल उनके बंधन खुल गए बल्कि वे वहाँ के दारोगा और उसके परिवार को भी प्रभु की ओर आकर्षित कर सके, उन्हें प्रभु में ला सके और फिलिप्पी की कलीसिया की स्थापना हो गई। यदि पौलुस और सिलास आराधना नहीं कर रहे होते, यदि वे शान्त ही पड़े रहते, तो अन्य बंदी तथा दारोगा प्रभु की ओर आकर्षित नहीं होते। यह आराधना ही थी जिसने न केवल उनके बंधन खोल दिए, वरन लोगों के हृदय भी खोल दिये कि वे यीशु को प्रभु ग्रहण कर सके - उनकी आराधना ने सुसमाचार को प्रभावी बना दिया।

प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में, यहूदियों को प्रचार किए गए पतरस के पहले सुसमाचार सन्देश से 3000 लोगों ने उद्धार पाया; पतरस के इस प्रचार का पहला भाग पूर्णता आराधना है - पतरस पहले उन यहूदियों के पापों के बारे में नहीं बल्कि परमेश्वर के बारे में, उसके गुणों, चरित्र, वचन, भविष्यवाणियों के बारे में, प्रभु यीशु और प्रभु के क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के बारे में बोलता है। पतरस द्वारा प्रभु परमेश्वर का यह गुणानुवाद उसके श्रोताओं के हृदयों को छेद देता है, वे उससे समाधान पूछते हैं, और वह उन लोगों से पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करके यीशु को प्रभु स्वीकार करने और बपतिस्मा लेने के लिए कहता है (प्रेरितों 2:37-38)। यदि उसने पहले प्रभु परमेश्वर की आराधना, उसका गुणानुवाद और स्तुति नहीं की होती, प्रभु यीशु को ऊंचे पर नहीं उठाया होता, तो लोगों के अन्दर पापों के लिए कायल होने का एहसास भी नहीं होता, वे पश्चाताप और उद्धार की बात तक पहुँच ही नहीं पाते।

इसी प्रकार से प्रेरितों 17 अध्याय में, पौलुस अथेने के लोगों को सुसमाचार प्रचार करते हुए, पहले उनके समक्ष प्रभु परमेश्वर का गुणानुवाद करता है - उनके सामने परमेश्वर के गुणों, चरित्र, और व्यवहार का वर्णन करता है, और वहां से उन्हें प्रभु यीशु की ओर ले कर आता है जो उनका सृष्टिकर्ता है और एक दिन न्यायी भी होगा। तब पौलुस उन से आग्रह करता है, और उन्हें यह निर्णय करने तक लेकर आता है कि या तो अभी यीशु को अपना उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार कर के बच जाएँ, अन्यथा उन्हें एक न्याय के रूप में उसका सामना करना ही पड़ेगा।

प्रभावी सुसमाचार प्रचार केवल आराधना के द्वारा ही संभव है; यीशु नाम को ऊँचे पर उठाने, उसका गुणानुवाद करने के द्वारा। और क्योंकि सुसमाचार प्रचार एवं प्रसार प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी की ज़िम्मेदारी है, वे इस से बच नहीं सकते हैं, इसलिए कोई भी मसीही विश्वासी सच्चा आराधक हुए बिना कार्यकारी और प्रभावी नहीं हो सकता है।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Worship - For Effective Gospel Preaching

For the past few articles, we have been looking at the benefits and gains of worshipping God, and why God wants His people to primarily be worshippers, and not just “pray-ers.” In the last two articles we have seen how worshipping makes our prayers effective and also helps in developing and maintaining our trust in God; which, in turn, makes us far less vulnerable to Satan’s ploys of making us fall through doubts and unbelief about God, His Word, and His works. Today we will look at another benefit related to our practical Christian life of faith in the Lord Jesus; about something mandatory for the disciples of the Lord Jesus - spreading the Gospel of salvation through faith in the Lord Jesus, which is the Lord’s commandment for all of His disciples (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8). Contrary to the quite commonly held belief, this is not just for the Pastors or those with Seminary training! When the Lord Jesus gave this commandment, there were no Seminaries or training courses, but everybody had to do it anyways (Acts 8:3-4). It was the Lord’s commandment that all those who become His disciples by faith, should also spread the good news of salvation. We can do this as a merely fulfilling a formality, i.e., simply as a duty to be fulfilled, therefore ineffectively and vainly; or we can do it meaningfully and effectively. For those who become the Lord’s disciples, this ministry of preaching and spreading the Gospel is made effective through not just praying, but also through worshipping God.

The Lord Jesus, in context of His crucifixion said that when He is lifted up, He will draw people to Him (John 12:32); but this also has a figurative implication – when we exalt the Lord, when we lift Him up on high in and through our lives, behavior, and words, that will attract the people to Him and the Gospel preaching becomes effective.

We see in the instance of Paul and Silas in jail in Philippi, in Acts 16 – when they sang, praised and worshipped the Lord in their painful and adverse situation - a situation in which people usually use foul language and derogatory expressions against God, not only were they set free from their own bonds, but they could draw the jailor and his family to the Lord, and the Church in Philippi started off. Had Paul and Silas not been worshipping, even if they had just remained silent in their pain and discomfort, the Jailor and the prisoners would not have got attracted to the Lord. It was worship that not only set them free from their bonds, but also opened the hearts of the hearers, to receive Jesus as Lord - worship made the gospel effective.

Peter’s first sermon to the Jews in Jerusalem, in Acts 2, where 3000 people were saved, the first part of the sermon is all worship – Peter first talks not about the sins of those Jews but about God, His attributes, His Word and prophecies, the Lord Jesus and His crucifixion; and then when this exaltation and praise leads the audience to being convicted, he asks them to repent, believe in the Lord Jesus, and be baptized in His name (Acts 2:37-38). If he had not first exalted and praised the Lord, and had not through worship lifted up the Lord Jesus on high, the people would not have come around to being convicted, they would not have come around to repentance and salvation either.

Similarly, in Acts 17, Paul preaching to the Athenians, first exalts the Lord before them – speaking about God’s attributes and qualities, and then leads them to the Lord Jesus as the God he was talking to them about; the One, who not only is their creator, but will also be their judge, and then exhorts them and brings them to the point of their deciding to either repent and be saved now by accepting Jesus as their Savior, or else eventually face Him as their Judge.

 Effective Gospel preaching is only through worship; through exalting and lifting on high the name of Jesus, which then draws people to Him. And since no Believer can escape the responsibility of preaching the gospel; therefore, no Believer can avoid being a worshipper.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

आराधना – परमेश्वर पर भरोसे को दृढ़ एवं उन्नत करने के लिए

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि किस प्रकार से आराधना प्रार्थनाओं को प्रभावी बनाती है, और बाइबल यह दिखाती है कि परमेश्वर के लोग अपनी प्रार्थनाएँ आराधना के साथ ही अर्पित किया करते थे। इसके पीछे कार्यकारी विचार परमेश्वर को जानना और उस पर भरोसा रखना है। व्यक्ति जितनी निकटता से परमेश्वर को जानता है, जितना अधिक उस पर भरोसा करता ही, उतनी ही अच्छी उसकी आराधना होगी, और प्रार्थना तथा परमेश्वर से उसका उत्तर मिलने के विषय उसकी समझ-बूझ भी उतनी ही बेहतर होगी। हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि व्यक्ति द्वारा की जाने वाली आराधना परमेश्वर के साथ उसकी घनिष्ठता, उसके द्वारा परमेश्वर के चरित्र, गुणों, व्यवहार, और परमेश्वर के कार्यों को जानने पर आधारित है। आराधना तथा परमेश्वर को जानने के मध्य एक परस्पर सहायक तथा लाभकारी होने का संबंध है - हम जितना बेहतर परमेश्वर को जानेंगे, हमारी आराधना भी उतनी ही बेहतर होगी; और हम जितनी अधिक आराधना करेंगे, हम उतना ही उसकी निकटता और घनिष्ठता में बढ़ते चले जाएँगे। तो, इस प्रकार से ये दोनों एक, दूसरे को पोषित करते हैं, बढ़ाते और संवारते रहते हैं; व्यक्ति जितना अधिक परमेश्वर की आराधना करने का अभ्यास करता रहता है, वह उतना ही परमेश्वर को निकटता से जानने, और बेहतर जानने के लिए प्रोत्साहित होता चला जाता है। यही सिद्धांत आराधना के एक और लाभ को हमारे सामने ले कर आता है, जिसे हम आज देखेंगे - आराधना परमेश्वर में हमारे भरोसे को बनाए रखती और बढ़ाती है।

यह दैनिक जीवन में आम तौर से देखे जाने वाला तथ्य है कि हम किसी व्यक्ति को, उसके गुणों, योग्यताओं, उसके व्यवहार आदि को, जितना अधिक जानते हैं, हम उतना ही अधिक यह जानने पाते हैं कि वह किन बातों और परिस्थितियों में हमारी सहायता कर सकेगा, हम उस पर कितना तथा किन बातों के लिए भरोसा कर सकते हैं, और वह क्या कुछ कर अथवा नहीं सकता है, आदि। हम जितना अधिक किसी व्यक्ति के साथ घनिष्ठ होंगे, किसी परिस्थिति अथवा आवश्यकता के समय में उसकी सहायता उपलब्ध होने के प्रति उतने ही आश्वस्त होंगे। साथ ही, जब हमें यह पता होता है कि किसी व्यक्ति का सहायता करने का स्वभाव है, और उसने कई लोगों की विभिन्न परिस्थितियों में सहायता की है, तो हमारी भी हिम्मत बनी रहती है कि अपनी किसी परिस्थिति अथवा आवश्यकता में यदि हम उसके पास जाएँगे तो वह हमारी भी सहायता करेगा। ठीक यही बातें परमेश्वर के साथ हमारे संबंधों में भी कार्यकारी होती हैं। हम जितना अधिक परमेश्वर को जानते हैं, उतना ही अधिक उस पर भरोसा बनाए रखेंगे और अपने जीवन की विभिन्न परिस्थितियों में उसकी सहायता के लिए उतने ही आश्वस्त बने रहेंगे। जब हम परमेश्वर की आराधना करते हैं, विशेषकर उसकी स्तुति और गुणानुवाद के द्वारा, तो हम अपने अंदर उतना अधिक उसके गुणों, योग्यताओं, चरित्र, व्यवहार, कार्यों तथा कार्य-विधियों, आदि को दोहराते रहते हैं; और जो लोग हमारी आराधना सुन रहे हैं, उन्हें भी इन बातों को बताते या स्मरण करवाते रहते हैं। हम जितना अधिक परमेश्वर के बारे में सीखेंगे, बोलेंगे और याद करेंगे, उतना ही बेहतर उसकी आराधना करने पाएँगे (यशायाह 40:21; 40:28)। यदि परमेश्वर के ये गुण हमारे मन और मस्तिष्क में बने रहेंगे, हमें याद आते रहेंगे, हम जितना परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके लोगों की विभिन्न परिस्थितियों में की गई सहायता के बारे में दोहराते रहेंगे, हम उतना ही अपने लिए उसकी सहायता और देखभाल के उपलब्ध रहने के विषय आश्वस्त बने रहेंगे; उस पर हमारा भरोसा दृढ़ बना रहेगा। यह परमेश्वर में हमारे विश्वास और भरोसे को बढ़ाता रहेगा और हमें शैतान द्वारा हम पर लाई गई विभिन्न विपरीत परिस्थितियों के कारण अविश्वास के जाल में फंसने से बचाए रखेगा।

हम परमेश्वर के बारे में उसके वचन, बाइबल से जानते और सीखते हैं। इसीलिए परमेश्वर ने व्यवस्थाविवरण 6 अध्याय में इस्राएलियों से कहा कि वे उसके वचनों को अपने दरवाजों की चौखटों पर लिख कर रखें, अपनी बाँहों पर बाँध कर रखें, अपने बच्चों से उनके बारे में बातें करें और उन्हें सिखाएं, और मार्ग के किनारे की चट्टानों पर लिख कर रखें (व्यवस्थाविवरण 27:2-3); जिससे कि वे कभी भी उन्हें भूलें नहीं। हम न्यायियों की पुस्तक में देखते हैं कि इस्राएलियों के जीवनों में गिरावट और पतन इसी लिए आ गया क्योंकि उन्होंने परमेश्वर के इस निर्देश का पालन नहीं किया (न्यायियों 2:10)। पवित्र आत्मा, प्रेरित पौलुस के द्वारा मसीही विश्वासियों से आग्रह करता है, उन्हें बल देकर कहता है कि वे परमेश्वर के वचन का उपयोग न केवल परमेश्वर के बारे में सीखने के लिए करें, बल्कि उसकी आराधना के लिए भी करे, “मसीह के वचन को अपने हृदय में अधिकाई से बसने दो; और सिद्ध ज्ञान सहित एक दूसरे को सिखाओ, और चिताओ, और अपने अपने मन में अनुग्रह के साथ परमेश्वर के लिये भजन और स्‍तुतिगान और आत्मिक गीत गाओ” (कुलुस्सियों 3:16)।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Worship - To Develop & Maintain Trust in God

In the previous article we have seen how worship helps in making prayers more effective, and the Bible illustrates that God’s people offered their prayers with worship. The principle behind this is knowing and trusting God. The better one knows God, the more he trusts God, the better will be his worship as well as discernment regarding prayer matters, and God’s answer for prayers. We have seen earlier that a person’s worship is based on his intimacy with God, his knowing God’s characteristics, attributes, and God’s works, etc. There is a mutually complementary and beneficial relationship between worship and knowing God - the better we know God, the better will our worship be; and the more we worship, the more will we grow in His nearness and knowing Him. So, one fuels and improves the other; the more one practices worshipping God, the more he gets encouraged to draw nearer to God and know Him better. This same principle, also leads to another benefit of worshipping, one that we will consider today - Worship develops and maintains our trust in God.

 It is a common everyday fact of life that the more we know a person, his qualities, his abilities, his character etc., the more we know in what-all kinds of situations can he be of help, and to what extent can we trust him, what all can he do or not do, etc. The more intimate we are with a person, the more confident we are of his helping us in a situation or time of need. Also, when we know that the person has a helping nature, and has helped people in their various situations, we are confident of approaching him in our time of need and his being willing to help us as well in similar situations. These same things hold true in our relationship with God; the better we know Him, the better will we trust Him and rely on Him in various circumstances that we will face in our lives. Through worshipping God, especially in praising and exalting Him, we also continue to revise and remind ourselves, as well as the others listening to our worship, about God’s qualities, abilities, attributes, working methods etc., so they always remain fresh and readily available in our minds. The more we learn and tell about God, the better we can worship Him. (Isaiah 40:21; Isaiah 40:28). If we have these attributes of God going around in our heart and head all the time, we will also keep recalling how He has helped His people in their different situations, and will therefore keep trusting Him to do the same for us in every situation we are in. This will strengthen our faith and trust in God and enable us to escape the snare of unbelief that Satan lays out for us by bringing various kinds of situations upon us.

We get to know and learn about God through the Word of God, the Bible. That is why God had asked the Israelites in Deuteronomy 6 to write his Words on their door-posts, bind them around their arms, teach them and speak about them to their children, and to write them on huge rocks (Deuteronomy 27:2-3); so that they never forget them. The downward spiral in the life of Israelites, in the book of Judges started because they did not follow this God given instruction (Judges 2:10). The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul exhorts the Christian Believers to remember, and use God’s Word to not only learn and teach about God, but also to worship Him, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Colossians 3:16).

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

आराधना – प्रार्थना को प्रभावी बनाने के लिए

परमेश्वर की आराधना करने से संबंधित हमारे इस अध्ययन में अभी तक हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर की आराधना करने, अर्थात उसे हमारे होंठों के और हमारे जीवन के फलों को अर्पित करने के द्वारा हम अपने विश्वास में और अधिक बढ़ते हैं तथा हर परिस्थिति में और हर बात के लिए परमेश्वर पर भरोसा बनाए रखने में और अधिक दृढ़ होते जाते हैं। इससे हम अपने विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ होकर खड़े रहने पाते हैं, जिससे शैतान की चालाकियों और युक्तियों में फंसने और गिरने से सुरक्षित बने रहते हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि आराधना किस प्रकार से हमारे विश्वास को दृढ़ करती है और शैतानी ताकतों के हमले के समय में हमारी सुरक्षा को बनाए रखती है। आज से हम, परमेश्वर के वचनों के उदाहरणों के द्वारा आराधना के कुछ व्यावहारिक प्रभावों और उपयोगिता के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे। आज हम जो पहली बात देखेंगे, वह है “आराधना के द्वारा प्रार्थना का प्रभावी होना।”

हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में पौलुस ने फिलिप्पियों 4:6 में निर्देश दिए हैं कि परमेश्वर के समक्ष प्रार्थनाएँ धन्यवाद - जो आराधना का एक स्वरूप है, के साथ प्रस्तुत की जाएँ। हम पौलुस के लेखों से, उसकी पत्रियों से यह भी देखते हैं कि यह पौलुस का नियम था कि वह जिनके लिए प्रार्थना करता था, साथ ही उनके बारे में किसी-न-किसी बात के लिए धन्यवादी भी रहता था, उदाहरण के लिए देखिए फिलिप्पियों 1:3-4; कुलुस्सियों 1:3; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:2; 2 तिमुथियुस 1:3; फिल्मों 1:4; आदि - इन पदों के उदाहरण से हम सीखते हैं कि पौलुस के जीवन में धन्यवाद और प्रार्थना साथ-साथ चलते थे, जिनके लिए वह प्रार्थना करता था, उनके लिए वह परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद भी करता था। हम आराधना के द्वारा प्रार्थना के प्रभावी होने के दो उदाहरण देखेंगे एक नए नियम से और दूसरा पुराने नियम से।

नए नियम से हम प्रभु यीशु द्वारा मत्ती 6:9-13 में सिखाए गए प्रार्थना के नमूने को देखते हैं, जिसे सामान्यतः “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” कहा जाता है। आज, सभी डिनॉमिनेशंस के लोग इसे एक रीति या परंपरा के समान, एक रटी हुई प्रार्थना के रूप में हर अवसर पर बोल देते हैं, बिना इसके अर्थ अथवा उपयोगिता को जाने या समझे। जिस प्रकार से आज इसका उपयोग किया जा रहा है, वैसे उपयोग के लिए यह प्रार्थना कभी दी ही नहीं गई थी। यह तो प्रभु द्वारा शिष्यों के सिखाया गया प्रार्थना का एक नमूना, एक ढाँचा था, जिस पर आधारित होकर शिष्यों को व्यक्तिगत रीति से अपनी प्रार्थना को करना था। जब हम इसे बाइबल में पढ़ते हैं तो देखते हैं कि इसका आरंभ पद 9 और 10 में आराधना के साथ होता है - परमेश्वर के गुणानुवाद या गुणगान के साथ, परमेश्वर के राज्य और इच्छा की बड़ाई करते हुए, और इन्हें पृथ्वी पर भी स्थापित होते देखने की लालसा को व्यक्त करने के साथ। फिर पद 11 से लेकर 13 के आरंभिक भाग तक निवेदनों का खण्ड है; और प्रार्थना का अन्त फिर से पद 13 के दूसरे भाग में परमेश्वर के गुणानुवाद, उसकी आराधना के साथ होता है। इस प्रकार से हम सीधे प्रभु यीशु द्वारा शिष्यों को सिखाए गए प्रार्थना के नमूने से ही सीखते हैं कि प्रार्थना के साथ आराधना का क्या महत्व है; प्रार्थना का आरंभ और अन्त दोनों आराधना के साथ होना चाहिए।

पुराने नियम से 2 इतिहास 20:1-17 को पढ़िए, राजा यहोशापात की प्रार्थना, जो पद 6 से 12 में दी गई है, उसकी पृष्ठभूमि और उत्तर को समझने के लिए। यहोशापात एक परमेश्वर के भय में चलने तथा राज्य करने वाला राजा था (2 इतिहास 19:4-11)। अब परमेश्वर यहोशापात को आशीष देने जा रहा अता; किन्तु यह आशीष एक परेशानी के भेस में उसके पास आई; हम इसे आगे के एक लेख में कुछ और विस्तार से देखेंगे। जैसा हम 2 इतिहास 20:1 से देखते हैं, तीन सामर्थी राजा गठबंधन कर के यहोशापात पर आक्रमण करने के लिए निकले। जब यहोशापात को इस विनाशकारी स्थित का पता चला, यह जानते हुए कि उसमें इतनी सामर्थ्य नहीं है कि वह स्थिति का सामना कर सके, वह उन से छुटकारे के समाधान के लिए परमेश्वर के पास गया और अपनी प्रजा के लोगों को भी साथ ले गया (पद 3-4)। पद 5 से 12 में दी गई उसकी प्रार्थना पर ध्यान कीजिए; पद 6 से लेकर 11 तक केवल परमेश्वर की आराधना है - परमेश्वर का गुणानुवाद, उसके चरित्र और गुणों को याद करना, उसके किए कार्यों को दोहराना; अविश्वासी अन्य-जाति लोगों के प्रति भी, जो परमेश्वर के लोगों के विरुद्ध थे, परमेश्वर के व्यवहार को स्मरण करना। फिर इसके बाद, पद 11 में आकर प्रार्थना है, जिसमें वह पहले अपनी योग्यता और परिस्थिति का सामना करने में असमर्थ होने का अंगीकार करता है, और फिर परिस्थिति को परमेश्वर के हाथों में सौंप देता है। ध्यान कीजिए, यहोशापात कहीं पर भी परमेश्वर को कोई निर्देश नहीं देता है कि क्या करना चाहिए, कैसे करना चाहिए; वह केवल अपनी परिस्थिति परमेश्वर के सामने ब्यान कर के आगे उसके साथ क्या करना है, उसे परमेश्वर पर ही छोड़ देता है कि उसके लिए जो भी वह करना चाहे, जैसे भी वह करना चाहे। और फिर से पद 13 से 17  में उसकी आराधना और प्रार्थना के लिए परमेश्वर का उत्तर है; उसे विजयी होने, और परमेश्वर में होकर सुरक्षित बने रहने का आश्वासन मिलता है। इसकी तुलना में आज हमारी प्रार्थनाएँ कितनी भिन्न होती हैं; आज ऐसी किसी परिस्थिति में यदि हम हों तो हम अपना अधिकांश समय परमेश्वर से शिकायत करने, विलाप करने, कुड़कुड़ाने और खिसियाने में बिताते हैं, और साथ ही उसे यह भी बताते हैं कि उसे क्या करना है, कैसे करना है। लेकिन यहोशापात ने इस गंभीर परिस्थिति में पहले अपनी प्रजा को एकत्रित किया और उनके साथ परमेश्वर की आराधना की, उसका गुणानुवाद किया, और फिर परिस्थिति को उसके हाथों में सौंप कर शांत हो गया, परमेश्वर पर छोड़ दिया कि जो भी उसे उचित लगे वही करे।

हम इन उदाहरणों तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के अन्य पदों से देखते हैं कि आराधना हमें सही रीति से प्रार्थना करने में सहायता करती है, और उन प्रार्थनाओं को परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य के द्वारा प्रभावी बनाती है। अगले लेख में हम नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी, परमेश्वर की संतान के जीवन में, आराधना से एक और भलाई, एक और व्यवहारिक उपयोग, देखेंगे।

Worship - For Effective Prayers

In our study on worshipping God, we have seen so far, that worshipping God, i.e., giving to Him the fruits of our lips and of our lives make us grow strong in our faith and trust God even more in all circumstances and for all things, which then keeps us firmly established in our faith in God and helps prevent us from falling for the wiles of the devil that he keeps working against us. In the last article we had seen how worship strengthens our faith and ensures our safety when we face satanic attacks of various kinds. From today we will start considering some practical effects and applications of worshipping God, from the examples given in God’s Word the Bible. The first thing we will consider is that “Worship makes our prayers effective.” 

We have seen earlier that Paul, through the Holy Spirit instructs in Philippians 4:6, to offer our prayers to God with Thanksgiving, which is a form of Worshipping God. We also see from Paul’s writings and letters that it was Paul’s habit to associate his prayers, with thanksgiving – a form of worship, for the subject of his prayers, e.g., Philippians 1:3-4; Colossians 1:3; 1 Thessalonians 1:2; 2 Timothy 1:3; Philemon 1:4; etc. - we see from these verses that in Paul’s life prayers and thanksgiving went hand-in-hand, he thanked God for those for whom he prayed. We will see two examples of prayer being made effective by worshipping, one from the New Testament, and the other from the Old Testament.

In the New Testament, let us consider the model prayer taught by the Lord, in Matthew 6:9-13; commonly called “The Lord’s Prayer”. Today, this prayer is repeated by rote, in all denominational Churches, on all occasions, and people just mumble it ritualistically, without any consideration of its meaning or application. This prayer was never meant to be used the way it is being used; it was given only to serve as a model, upon which the disciples of the Lord were to base and offer their personal prayers. When we read this prayer in the Bible, we see that it starts with Worship in verses. 9 & 10 – by exalting and praising God, extolling God’s kingdom and will, and desiring that they are present on earth as they are present in heaven. From verse 11 to 13a is the section of petitioning God; and the prayer then ends with Worship through exalting God in verse 13b. So, we have it directly from the Lord Jesus, in the model prayer that He taught to His disciples, the necessity and importance of worshipping God even when offering prayers to Him; prayers should begin and end with worship.

From the Old Testament, read 2 Chronicles 20:1-17, to understand the background and the result of King Jehoshaphat’s prayer which is given in verse 6 to 12. Jehoshaphat was a Godly king, ruling his kingdom in the fear of the Lord (2 Chronicles 19:4-11). God was now going to bless Jehoshaphat; we will take this up in some detail later under a separate heading; but this blessing came disguised as an adversity. As we see from 2 Chronicles 20:1, three mighty kings got together against him, to attack him. When Jehoshaphat heard of this impending disaster, being aware of his own inability to handle the situation, he went to God to provide to him the way out, and also took his people with him to petition God for their deliverance (verses 3-4). Study his prayer given in verse 5 to12; from verse 6 to 11 is pure worship - exalting God, recalling His character and deeds; God’s behavior even towards the ungodly gentiles who were unfavorable towards the people of God. Then finally in verse 11 is the actual prayer - he first acknowledges his inadequacy and inability to handle the situation, then simply turns the matter over into God’s hands. Jehoshaphat never instructs God what to do and how, he simply puts his need before God and leaves Him to do whatever He wants to do and however He wants to do. From verse 13 to 17 is God’s answer to his worship and prayer, an assurance of victory, of safety through God’s presence. This is so unlike the way we are used to praying today, where we spend most of the time complaining and lamenting before God and also telling Him what to do and how to do it. But Jehoshaphat, in the face of dire adversity first got his people together with him and worshipped God, exalted Him, and then simply placed the matter into God’s hands and stepped back; leaving it to God to whatever He thought was appropriate.

 So, we see from these examples and other verses from God’s Word that worship helps us to pray worthily and makes our prayers more effective through the power of God. In the next article, we will look at another benefit, another practical effect and application of worship in the life of a Born-Again Christian Believer, a child of God.

आराधना करने की अनिवार्यता (3)

हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि परमेश्वर ऐसे आराधकों को ढूँढ़ता है जो आत्मा और सच्चाई से उसकी आराधना करने वाले हों, अर्थात, जो उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी हों। इससे पहले हम देख चुके हैं कि परमेश्वर की यह आज्ञा है कि जब लोग उसके समक्ष आएँ, तो छूछे हाथ न आएँ (निर्गमन 34:20; व्यवस्थाविवरण 16:16)। लोग जब प्रार्थना में भी परमेश्वर के समक्ष आएँ, तो यह धन्यवाद के साथ होना चाहिए (फिलिप्पियों 4:6-7), तथा लोगों को प्रार्थनाओं के उत्तर मिलने के बाद भी उन्हें उसका धन्यवादी होना चाहिए (भजन 50:15)। यह एक सामान्य शिष्टाचार की बात है कि जब हम किसी के पास जाते हैं तो उसके लिए कुछ भेंट या उपहार भी ले जाते हैं, जैसे कि कुछ मिठाई या फल, या फूलों का गुलदस्ता, आदि - यह करना उस व्यक्ति को न केवल आदर देने का एक तरीका है, बल्कि उसके प्रति हमारे प्रेम और आदर की भी अभिव्यक्ति है। हमारे द्वारा ले जाई गई भेंट या उपहार की गुणवत्ता और कीमत न केवल उस व्यक्ति के साथ हमारे संबंधों की घनिष्ठता का, वरन उस व्यक्ति के अपने स्तर या ओहदे का भी सूचक होता है। इसी प्रकार से परमेश्वर चाहता है कि उसके लोग उसके पास उसे उसके योग्य आदर को देते हुए आएँ (भजन 29:2; भजन 96:8; भजन 100:4)।

ऐसा नहीं है कि यह परमेश्वर के अहं की बात है, जिसके कारण वह आराधना करने की आज्ञा दे रहा है; बल्कि, वह तो हमें एक ऐसी जीवन-शैली में ले जा रहा है जिस में हम शैतान और उसकी युक्तियों से सुरक्षित बने रहेंगे। परमेश्वर चाहता है कि आराधना का जो सामर्थी हथियार उसने हमारे हाथों में सौंपा हैं उसे हम प्रभावी रीति से शैतान के विरुद्ध उपयोग करने वाले बनें। हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि आराधना का सर्वोच्च स्वरूप, परमेश्वर का गुणानुवाद या गुणगान करना है, जिस में हम परमेश्वर के बारे में, उसकी पवित्रता, उसकी पूर्ण सामर्थ्य और योग्यताएँ, उसके गुणों और चरित्र, उसके बच्चों के जीवनों में उसके द्वारा किए गए कार्यों, आदि का वर्णन करते हैं और परमेश्वर की स्तुति करते समय भी हम अपने अनुभवों के आधार पर उसके द्वारा किए गए कार्यों या प्रदान की गई बातों और वस्तुओं के बारे में बताते हैं, गवाही देते हैं। आराधना के इन दोनों स्वरूपों में आराधना करने वाला परमेश्वर के जितना अधिक निकट होगा, जितना घनिष्ठ होकर उसे जानता होगा, जितनी अधिक गहराई से उसने परमेश्वर को अनुभव किया होगा, उतना ही बेहतर वह इन दोनों प्रकार की आराधना को अर्पित करने पाएगा।

इसे यदि पलट कर, दूसरी ओर से देखें, तो व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के जितना अधिक निकट होगा, परमेश्वर से उसका संबंध जितना आधिक घनिष्ठ होगा, वह जितना अधिक परमेश्वर पर भरोसा करके उसपर निर्भर रहने वाला होगा, जितना अधिक वह उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में होकर परमेश्वर की इच्छा और निर्देशों के अनुसार कार्य करेगा, व्यक्ति हर परिस्थिति में और हर बात के लिए जितना अधिक परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला होगा, वह उतनी ही बेहतर परमेश्वर की आराधना करने पाएगा, उतनी ही बेहतर परमेश्वर की स्तुति और प्रशंसा करेगा। अर्थात, व्यक्ति की आराधना की गुणवत्ता, परमेश्वर के साथ उसके संबंधों का, परमेश्वर के साथ उसकी घनिष्ठता का, उसके द्वारा परमेश्वर को जानने का, परमेंश्वर के प्रति उसकी आज्ञाकारिता का, और उसका परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला होने के स्तर, आदि का सूचक है। इसलिए प्रकट तात्पर्य यह है कि जब परमेश्वर यह आज्ञा दे रहा है कि लोग आत्मा और सच्चाई में होकर उसकी आराधना करें, और जब उसके पास प्रार्थना लेकर भी आएँ तो कम से कम धन्यवाद के साथ प्रार्थना करें, तो वह जो चाह रहा है, उसकी जो लालसा है, वह है कि उसके लोग उसकी निकटता में और भी अधिक बढ़ते जाएँ, उसके बार में और अधिक सीखने वाले बनें, उसे और अच्छे से जानने लगें - और यह सभी उनकी आराधना के स्तर और गुणवत्ता के द्वारा दिखाई देगा, प्रमाणित होगा।

व्यक्ति जितना अधिक परमेश्वर के निकट होगा, जितना अधिक परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखते हुए उसका आज्ञाकारी बना रहेगा, उतना ही अधिक वह शैतान और उसकी चालाकियों और युक्तियों से सुरक्षित बना रहेगा, तथा न शैतान और न ही उसके सेवक ऐसे व्यक्ति को बहकाने और पथभ्रष्ट करने पाएँगे। इसलिए, परमेश्वर द्वारा यह आज्ञा देना कि कोई भी उसके समक्ष छूछे हाथ न आए, बल्कि हमेशा ही उसे अर्पित करने के लिए कुछ लेकर आए; परमेश्वर द्वारा यह आज्ञा देना कि लोग उसके योग्य आदर के साथ उसके पास आएँ; उसका इस बात पर दृढ़ होना कि उनकी प्रार्थनाएँ भी धन्यवाद के साथ कही जाएँ, आदि, इन सभी बातों के द्वारा परमेश्वर यह सुनिश्चित करना चाह रहा है कि उसके लोग शैतान से कुछ-न-कुछ सुरक्षा बनाकर रखें, शैतान के हमलों के लिए खुले और दुर्बल न हों। परमेश्वर की इच्छा तो यह है कि हम पूरी तरह से सुरक्षित, शैतान के हमलों और युक्तियों से पूर्णतः बचे हुए हों, इसीलिए वह चाहता है कि उसके लोग “प्रोसक्यूनिटीस”, अर्थात आत्मा और सच्चाई से उसकी आराधना करने वाले बनें, परमेश्वर के समक्ष “प्रोसक्यूनियोस” करने वाले, अर्थात उसके प्रति पूर्णतः समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी जीवन जीने वाले होने के द्वारा। जो लोग “प्रोसक्यूनियोस” करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के “प्रोसक्यूनिटीस” बनेंगे उन्हें परमेश्वर की पूर्ण सुरक्षा भी प्राप्त रहेगी और वे एक सामर्थी एवं जयवंत जीवन जीने वाले भी हो जाएँगे, वैसा जीवन जिसकी बारे में प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 10:10 में कहा है। परमेश्वर तो हमें एक सामर्थी, जयवन्त, बहुतायत का जीवन देना चाहता है; किन्तु उसे प्राप्त करने के लिए जो आवश्यक है, क्या हम उसे करने और फिर उस जीवन को प्राप्त कर के उसके अनुसार जीवन व्यतीत करने के लिए तैयार हैं?

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

The Necessity of Worshipping (3)

We have seen in the previous article that God is looking for those who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth, i.e., those who will be fully submitted and obedient to Him. Earlier, we had seen that God commands that when His people approach Him, it should not be with empty hands (Exodus 34:20; Deuteronomy 16:16). Even when people come to God in prayer, it should be with thankfulness (Philippians 4:6-7), and people should also remember to thank Him for answered prayers (Psalm 50:15). It is common etiquette, that when we visit someone, we go with some gift, e.g., sweets, or fruits, or even a bouquet of flowers – this is a way of according honor to that person and is also an expression of our love and regards for him. The quality and value of the gift we take not only reflects the closeness of our association with that person, but also the stature of the person. Similarly, God wants His children, His people to come to Him according to Him His due honor (Psalm 29:2; Psalm 96:8; Psalm 100:4).

It is not that God is on an “ego-trip” in commanding us to worship Him; rather, He is guiding us into a way of life that will keep us safe from Satan and his devices. He wants us to learn to effectively use the powerful weapon of worship that He has placed in our hands, against Satan. We have seen earlier that the highest form of worship, Exaltation of God is describing Him, His Holiness, His absolute powers and abilities, His characteristics and qualities, His works in the lives of His children, etc. and in Praising God we again speak or witness about His works that we have experienced, or praise Him for the things we have received from Him. For both of these expressions of worship, the closer the worshipper is to God, the more intimately he knows God, and the more deeply he has experienced God, the better will he be able to worship God through either of these forms.

 

If you look at it the other way around, the closer a person is to God, the more intimate is his relationship with God, the more he relies upon God, trusts Him, and does everything according to God’s will and directions, the more a person is concerned about being obedient to God and being a “God-Pleaser” in and for all things, the better will he be able to to worship God, to Praise and Exalt God. So, the quality of one’s worship, is an indicator of one’s relationship with God, about how close he is with God, how well he knows God, how much he strives to please God, and how obedient he is to God. Therefore, the evident implication is that when God commands that people worship Him in Spirit and truth, accord Him His due honor when they approach Him, at the very least have an attitude of thankfulness even when approaching Him in prayer, what He is actually asking for, desiring, is that His people draw closer to Him, learn about Him even more, know Him better - and this will be reflected in and evidenced by the worship they offer.

 

The closer a person is to God, and the more the person trusts God and obeys Him, the safer will he be from Satan and his ploys, his devices and being misled into harm by Satan or his minions. So, God’s commanding that none come before Him empty handed, but always have something to offer to Him; by commanding that people should approach Him through giving Him His due honor according to His status; by insisting that even for prayers people should at the least have an attitude of thankfulness, God is ensuring that His people get into some protection or the other from Satan, and not remain totally vulnerable to satanic attacks. God’s desire is that we be fully protected, be totally safe from Satan’s attacks and devices, that is why His desire is that His people be the “proskunetes” i.e., those who worship Him in Spirit and truth; by being those who “proskuneos” before Him i.e., totally submit and surrender themselves into His hands and always for all things be fully obedient to Him. The “proskunetes”, by virtue of their “proskuneos”, will have God’s full protection and enjoy an overcoming and victorious life, the kind of life the Lord Jesus spoke of in John 10:10. God wants to give us an abundant, overcoming, victorious life; but are we willing to do what is necessary to receive it and then live it out?

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
