       बाइबल हमें 2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3 में बताती है कि हव्वा से पाप करवाने के लिए शैतान ने उसे अपनी चालाकी से बहका लिया, और उसी तरह से वह मसीही विश्वासियों के मनों को भी भ्रष्ट करता है और उन्हें मसीह में सादगी से भटका कर ले जाना चाहता है। हव्वा शैतान द्वारा इसलिए बहकाई जा सकी क्योंकि उसने परमेश्वर की कही बात, उसके वचन पर भरोसा रखने की बजाए, परमेश्वर के निर्देशों से बाहर की बातों पर, एक अन्य सृजे गए प्राणी के द्वारा उससे कही जाने वाली बातों पर भरोसा कर लेने को चुन लिया। उसकी दूसरी गलती थी कि उसने शैतान की बात मान लेने से पहले अपने पति आदम के साथ इस बात पर चर्चा नहीं की; और न ही परमेश्वर के आने पर, जैसा वह किया करता था, उस से इसके बारे में पूछने की प्रतीक्षा की। शैतान जो भी कहना चाहता था, उसे सुनने के बाद उसने तुरंत ही निर्णय लेकर कार्यवाही कर ली तथा आदम से भी करवा दी, क्योंकि शैतान ने जो कहा था वह हव्वा की समझ, बुद्धि, और आँखों को भाया, और उसने उस पर भरोसा कर लिया, मनुष्य के जीवन तथा सृष्टि में शैतान और पाप के लिए द्वार को खोल दिया, और हम आज तक उनके द्वारा परमेश्वर के निर्देशों की अनाज्ञाकारिता तथा परमेश्वर के वचन को नज़रंदाज़ करने के परिणाम भुगत रहे हैं।

        लगभग यही स्थिति प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ तथा अन्य बातों के लिए परमेश्वर द्वारा उसके वचन बाइबल में दिए गए निर्देशों के बारे में भी ईसाई या मसीही समाज में व्याप्त है। आज लोगों में परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने और उसके निर्देशों को मानने में कोई रुचि नहीं है, अथवा इसका बहुत ही कम शौक है। इसकी बजाए वे उसी को मानने और उसका पालन करने से संतुष्ट रहते हैं जो एक अन्य मनुष्य उन्हें परमेश्वर के नाम में पुल्पिट से एक आकर्षक और तर्क-संगत रीति से बता देता है; और वे उसे स्वीकार करने तथा उसका पालन करने से पहले बाइबल से उसकी जांच अथवा पुष्टि भी नहीं करते हैं। परिणाम यह हुआ है कि शैतान ने बड़ी ही आसानी से अपनी गलत शिक्षाएं और अनुचित सिद्धांत मसीहियत में घुसा दिए हैं, अपनी गलत और शैतानी व्याख्याओं के द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन की बातों को भ्रष्ट कर दिया है, बिगाड़ दिया है। इस प्रकार से, जैसे उसने हव्वा को बहकाया, उसी प्रकार से उसने अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही समाज को बाइबल के बाहर की अपनी गलत शिक्षाओं का पालन करने के लिए, जिनमें उसकी दुष्टता की बातें, चालाकियाँ, और सांसारिक बातों की शिक्षाएं भी चतुराई से मिलाई हुई होती हैं, बहका लिया है। इसलिए, ईसाई या मसीही समाज में जो परिस्थिति व्याप्त है वह यह है कि आज लोग परमेश्वर की इच्छा को जानने, समझने, और उसका पालन करने के लिए प्रयास करने की बजाए, मनुष्य की बातों को सुनने और स्वीकार करने, उनका पालन करने में अधिक रुचि रखते हैं; अर्थात, वे परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाले होने के स्थान पर मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाले हो गए हैं।

        उनकी इस प्रवृत्ति का एक अनंतकाल के लिए घातक प्रभाव उत्पन्न करने वाली बात है, उनके द्वारा प्रभु भोज में एक धार्मिक अनुष्ठान के समान उस रीति से भाग लेना जो उनके समुदाय अथवा डिनॉमिनेशन में पालन की जाती है, इस विश्वास के साथ कि भाग लेने के द्वारा वे परमेश्वर के लोग बन जाएंगे, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो जाएंगे, और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश करने के योग्य मान लिए जाएंगे - जो कि एक बिल्कुल गलत और बाइबल के सर्वथा विपरीत सिद्धांत है। इस शृंखला में हम यह अध्ययन कर रहे हैं कि परमेश्वर का वचन प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के विषय वास्तव में क्या कहता है, तथा इस और अन्य गलत और घातक धारणाओं को दूर करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु की मेज़ की स्थापना अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह का भोज खाते हुए, उसी भोज की सामग्री को लेकर उपयोग करने के द्वारा स्थापित की थी। फसह से संबंधित परमेश्वर के निर्देश निर्गमन 12 तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा मूसा में होकर दी गई व्यवस्था में दिए गए हैं। ये निर्देश और उनके तात्पर्य आज भी उतने ही सत्य हैं जितने तब थे; और इनके द्वारा हमें प्रभु की मेज़ में परमेश्वर के निर्देशों के अनुसार भाग लेने के लिए बहुत सी बातें समझने तथा सीखने को मिलती हैं, न कि एक औपचारिकता के समान, जैसा आज सामान्यतः होता रहता है। हम इन बातों को निर्गमन 12 में से समझ और सीख रहे हैं, और पिछले लेख में हमने पद 8-10 में से सीखना आरंभ किया है; जिसमें हमने देखा है कि फसह के भोज में भाग लेने और मिस्र के दासत्व से छुड़ाए जाने के लिए एक कीमत चुकानी पड़ी थी। इसी प्रकार से योग्य रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना उनके लिए है जिन्होंने अपने आप को संसार, साँसारिकता, और उसकी आरामदेह बातों से पृथक कर लिया है; वे प्रभु के लिए खड़े होने के लिए, तैयार हैं, तथा प्रभु के लोग होने के लिए पहचाने जाने के लिए कठिनाइयों, समस्याओं, और सताव सहन करने के लिए तैयार हैं। आज हम इसी खण्ड को आगे देखेंगे और इस खण्ड की कुछ अन्य शिक्षाओं और अभिप्रायों को देखेंगे तथा उनसे सीखेंगे।

        बलि के मेमने के लहू को घर के दरवाज़े की चौखटों तथा अलंगों पर लगाने के बाद, इस्राएलियों को मेमने को आग पर भूनना था और फिर उसे अखमीरी रोटी तथा कड़वे साग-पात के साथ खाना था। इस बात को हम पिछले लेख में देख चुके हैं। इन आयतों को आगे देखने से पहले, हमें स्मरण कर लेना चाहिए कि प्रभु यीशु ने अपनी तोड़ी गई देह तथा बहाए गए लहू के चिह्न के रूप में अखमीरी रोटी तथा दाख-रस को उपयोग किया था। साथ ही, यूहन्ना 6:32-63 में प्रभु यीशु अपनी देह और लहू की बात करता है, जिन्हें उसके शिष्यों को नए जीवन के स्त्रोत के रूप में खाना और पीना था। अब, पुराने नियम में, परमेश्वर का वचन और व्यवस्था माँस को लहू के साथ खाने और लहू को खाने के लिए स्पष्ट मना करता है (उत्पत्ति 9:4; लैव्यव्यवस्था 3:17; 7:26; आदि)। इसलिए जब प्रभु यीशु अपनी देह के खाए जाने और लहू के पीए जाने की बात करता है तो यह सांकेतिक ही हो सकता है, न कि शब्दार्थ में, जिस प्रकार से जिस रोटी और दाखरस को उसने दिया था, उनके सांकेतिक अर्थ थे।

        बहुत ही साधारण रीति से, हम जो कुछ भी खाते और पीते हैं, वह हमारे पेट में जाकर अपनी रचना के अवयवों में बँट जाता है, और फिर सोख लिए जाने के बाद, खून के साथ शरीर के विभिन्न भागों में जाता है, और अपने गुणों के अनुसार शरीर में प्रभाव उत्पन्न करता है। लगभग यही बात रोटी और दाखरस, अर्थात प्रभु यीशु की देह के खाने और लहू पीने के लिए भी होती है। प्रभु यीशु ने यूहन्ना 6:54-56 में कहा है, “जो मेरा मांस खाता, और मेरा लहू पीता है, अनन्त जीवन उसी का है, और मैं अंतिम दिन फिर उसे जिला उठाऊंगा। क्योंकि मेरा मांस वास्तव में खाने की वस्तु है और मेरा लहू वास्तव में पीने की वस्तु है। जो मेरा मांस खाता और मेरा लहू पीता है, वह मुझ में स्थिर बना रहता है, और मैं उस में”; अर्थात, प्रभु की देह और लहू अनंत जीवन का स्त्रोत हैं, और उसमें बने रहने का कारण हैं। थोड़ा सा आगे, यूहन्ना 6:63 में प्रभु ने कहा, “आत्मा तो जीवनदायक है, शरीर से कुछ लाभ नहीं: जो बातें मैं ने तुम से कहीं हैं वे आत्मा है, और जीवन भी हैं”; अर्थात, उसने जिस अनंत जीवन के बारे में आयत 54 में बात की है, वह आत्मा के द्वारा, उसके शब्दों के द्वारा मिलता है। इसलिए तात्पर्य स्पष्ट है, कि प्रभु जिसे “खाने” की बात कर रहा है, वह उसका वचन है। और क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु स्वयं “जीवता वचन” है, जिसने देहधारी होकर हमारे मध्य में निवास किया (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14), उसके वचनों को “खाना” उसकी देह को खाने के समान है। इसकी पुष्टि 1 यूहन्ना 3:24 “और जो उस की आज्ञाओं को मानता है, वह उस में, और वह उन में बना रहता है: और इसी से, अर्थात उस आत्मा से जो उसने हमें दिया है, हम जानते हैं, कि वह हम में बना रहता है” से भी हो जाती है - प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाओं को मानना ही उसमें बने रहना है। इसी प्रकार से यूहन्ना 4:34 में प्रभु यीशु परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता को भोजन करने के समान बताता है। और प्रकाशितवाक्य 10:9 तथा यहेजकेल 2:8-3:3 में यूहन्ना तथा यहेजकेल को खा लेने के लिए पुस्तकें दी गईं और फिर उन पुस्तकों को खा लेने के बाद उन्होंने जो उन से सीखा उसे लोगों को बताना था। इसलिए चिह्न और प्रतीक स्पष्ट हैं; प्रभु यीशु की देह और लहू को खाने और पीने का अभिप्राय है कि उसके शब्दों अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल को खाएं, अच्छे से चबाएं, पचा लें और उन्हें आत्मसात कर लें, तथा उस वचन को उनके जीवनों में परिवर्तन लाने दें। जैसा कि यूहन्ना 14:21, 23 कहते हैं, कि व्यक्ति के परमेश्वर से प्रेम करने का प्रमाण (वास्तव में बाइबल में परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया गया इस बात का एकमात्र प्रमाण) यही है कि व्यक्ति परमेश्वर के वचन से प्रेम करता है, उसका पालन करता है। इसी प्रकार से 1 यूहन्ना 2:3-6 कहता है कि परमेश्वर को जानने, उससे प्रेम करने, और प्रभु में बने रहने का प्रमाण है उसकी आज्ञाओं को जानना और मानना, जो कि व्यक्ति के द्वारा प्रभु के समान जीने और चलने के द्वारा प्रमाणित होगा।

        अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय पर आगे विचार करेंगे, और निर्गमन 12:8-10 के प्रतीकों से कुछ और बातों को सीखेंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:8-10 (2) - The Lord’s Table - For Those Who Honor, Study, and Obey God’s Word (1)

 

       The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11:3 that to cause Eve to sin, Satan beguiled her through his craftiness, and similarly, he tries to corrupt the minds of the Christian Believers and lead them away from the simplicity in Christ. Eve could be beguiled by Satan, because instead of trusting in God’s Word, she chose to trust in things extraneous to God’s instructions being said to her by a created, earthly creature. The second error she made was to not discuss it with her husband Adam, nor wait to ask God when He would visit them, as God used to do. But on hearing what Satan had to say, since what Satan said appealed to her understanding, intellect, and eyes, she immediately acted upon it, and also made Adam do the same. Their disobedience to God’s Word and instructions given to them, opened the door for sin to enter their lives and the creation, and we are still suffering the consequences of their disobeying God and ignoring His Word.

        Much the same situation prevails regarding the Holy Communion, or, the Lord’s Table, and other instructions that God has given in His Word the Bible. Since people have scant, or, no interest in studying and learning God’s Word and obeying its instructions. Instead, they are quite content with accepting and believing whatever another person tells them, in God’s name in an attractive and seemingly logical manner from the pulpit, without bothering to cross-check and verify it from the Bible, before accepting it and following or obeying it. The consequence is that Satan has brought in and firmly established his wrong teachings and false doctrines, has corrupted God’s Word through his devious misinterpretations. Thereby, like he beguiled Eve, he has beguiled most of Christendom into following unBiblical, i.e., devious misinterpretations of God’s Word cleverly mixed with worldly things and teachings outside of the Bible. Therefore, the prevailing situation in Christendom is that people are more interested and willing to listen to men and obey them, rather than bother to learn and find out God’s will, and obey God; i.e., people would rather be “men-pleasers” than be “God-pleasers.”

        One of the eternally disastrous consequences of this tendency is believing that partaking of the Holy Communion, as a religious ritual, in the manner practised in their sect or denomination, will make them God’s people, acceptable to God and entitle them to enter heaven - a patently false and unBiblical notion. Through this series we have been studying what God’s Word actually has to say and teach about the Holy Communion and participating in it, and dispel this and other erroneous, disastrous notions. The Lord Jesus established the Lord’s Table while eating the Passover meal with His disciples, using the elements of the Passover meal. God’s instructions related to the Passover are given in Exodus 12 and in the Law given by God through Moses. These instructions and their implications are just as true today, and teach us many things about understanding and participating in the Lord’s Table in the manner God wants it to be done, and not perfunctorily, as is usually being done. We have been studying this from Exodus 12, and reached the section of verses 8-10 in the last study, where we saw that participating in the Passover and being delivered from the bondage of Egypt called for paying a price. So too worthily participating in the Lord’s Table is for those who have detached themselves from the world, worldliness, and its comforts, are willing to stand up for the Lord and face difficulties, problems, and persecution for being counted as people of the Lord Jesus. Today, we will continue ahead with the same section and explore some other teachings and implications of this section.

        After applying the blood of the sacrificial lamb of the Passover to the door-posts and lintel of their houses, the Israelites then had to roast the lamb on fire, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs - which we have considered in the last article. Before proceeding further with these verses, we should recall that in establishing the Holy Communion, the Lord Jesus gave the unleavened bread and the cup of grape-juice, as symbols of His broken body and shed blood, for His disciples to eat and drink. Also, in John 6:32-63, the Lord Jesus speaks of His body and blood, that have to be eaten and drunk as source of life. Now, in the OT, the Word of God even before the Law and even in the Law expressly forbade eating meat with blood, or using blood as food (Genesis 9:4; Leviticus 3:17; 7:26; etc.). Therefore, when the Lord speaks of eating and drinking His body and blood, it has to be, not literally, but with a symbolic meaning, just as the bread and grape-juice that He gave to eat and drink had symbolic meanings.

        Very simply stated, after we eat or drink something, it is broken down into its components in our gut, then is absorbed and circulates with the blood to various parts of the body, and produces the various effects in the body, according to its characteristics. Much the same is implied in eating the bread and grape-juice, i.e., the body and blood of the Lord Jesus. In John 6:54-56, the Lord Jesus says, “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him”; i.e., the body and blood of the Lord are the source of eternal life, and cause of abiding in Him. A little later, in John 6:63 He says, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life”; i.e., this eternal life that He has spoken of in verse 54 comes through the Spirit, through His Words. Therefore, the implication is apparent, that what the Lord is asking to be “eaten” are His Words; and since the Lord Jesus is “the living Word” that became flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:1, 14), “eating” His Words is the same as eating His body. This is further corroborated by 1 John 3:24 “Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us” - obeying the commandments of the Lord is to abide in Him. Similarly in John 4:34 the Lord Jesus calls obeying God to be the same as eating food. Also in Revelation 10:9 and Ezekiel 2:8-3:3 books are given to John and Ezekiel to “eat” and then they have to speak out what they learnt from “eating” those books. So, the symbolism and implication are clear, to eat and drink the body and blood of the Lord implies to eat, chew, digest, and imbibe His Words, i.e., the Bible - the Word of God, and let the Word of God bring changes in a person’s life. As John 14:21, 23 says, the proof (actually, the only God-given proof in the Bible) of a person loving God is that he will keep God’s Word and obey His Commandments. Similarly, 1 John 2:3-6 says that the proof of knowing God, loving God, and abiding in the Lord is knowing and keeping His commandments, which will be manifested by the person living and walking as the Lord did.

        In the next article, we will continue considering this topic further, and learn some more from the symbolisms of Exodus 12:8-10.

All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

        अपने भोजन में स्वाद बढ़ाने वाली कोई भी वस्तु मिलाने के स्थान पर, उन्हें अपने भोजन को कड़वे साग-पात के साथ खाना था - आग पर भुना हुआ निःस्वाद माँस, कड़ी खमीरी रोटी, जिसे कड़वे साग-पात के साथ शीघ्रता से खाना था - परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में यह करने के लिए इस्राएलियों को बड़े दृढ़ निर्णय और कठिन समय का सामना करने के लिए तैयार होना था। एक नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को मसीह में अपने विश्वास तथा प्रभु यीशु के लिए कठिनाइयों और दुखों का सामना करने के लिए (फिलिप्पियों 1:29; 2 तिमुथियुस 3:12) तैयार रहना चाहिए, तथा संसार की उन बातों से बचकर, उनसे दूर रहना चाहिए जो उसके जीवन को आरामदेह तो बना सकती हैं किन्तु उसके लिए संसार के साथ समझौता करना पड़ता है। विश्वासी को ऐसी सभी बातों के व्यर्थ और महत्वहीन होने को पहचान कर उनका तिरस्कार करना है, यह जानते और समझते हुए कि ये सभी नाशमान हैं, कोई आशीष नहीं, केवल बिगाड़ ही लाएंगी (1 यूहन्ना 2:15-17; याकूब 4:3-4)।

        प्रभु परमेश्वर ने इस्राएलियों को यह नहीं बताया था कि वह कब मिस्र पर से होकर जाएगा, और उन्हें मिस्र से छुटकारा दिलाएगा; उन्हें बस इतना पता था कि यह इसी रात में होगा, और उन्हें इसके लिए तैयार और जागते रहना था, ताकि जैसे ही यह घटना घटे वे कूच कर जाने के लिए तैयार पाए जाएं। प्रभु परमेश्वर ने अपने कहे को मध्य-रात्रि में किया, और उसके तुरंत बाद मिस्रियों ने इस्राएलियों से निकल जाने के लिए कहा (निर्गमन 12:29-33)। प्रभु यीशु ने वायदा किया है कि वह अपने लोगों को लेने के लिए आएगा, ताकि वे उसके साथ रहें (यूहन्ना 14:3), किन्तु यह नहीं बताया है कि वह कब आएगा। लेकिन उसने उसके आगमन के कुछ चिह्न दिए हैं, उसके आने से पहले संसार में होने वाली बातें बताई हैं (मत्ती 24)। संक्षेप में, प्रभु के द्वारा दिए गए चिह्न हैं, कि सारे संसार भर में शैतान की सामर्थ्य और पाप की भरपूरी होगी, प्रकृति में बिगाड़ आ जाएगा, शान्ति जाती रहेगी, परमेश्वर के लोग भारी सताव में पड़ेंगे और परखे जाएंगे, और प्रभु यीशु तथा मसीही विश्वास के बारे में बहुत सारी गलत शिक्षाएं और सिद्धांत फैला दिए जाएंगे - और यह सब हमारे सामने आज हो रहा है। संसार भर में फैले पाप और शैतान की शक्तियों के गहन अंधकार के समय में, अचानक ही कूच करने की पुकार होगी, और जो प्रभु के आगमन के लिए तैयार होंगे वो प्रभु के साथ जाने के लिए उठा लिए जाएंगे। परमेश्वर की संतानों को इन बातों के लिए सचेत, तैयार, और प्रार्थना में लगे रहना चाहिए; न कि सोते हुए या सँसार की बातों में या जीवन की चिंताओं में फंसे होना चाहिए (लूका 21:34; पद 31-36 देखिए)।

        जिस प्रकार से इस्राएलियों को अपने आप को तैयार करना था, तैयार रहना था, और फसह के भोज में तैयारी के साथ भाग लेना था; उसी प्रकार से जो प्रभु भोज या प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते हैं, उन्हें भी अपने आप को संसार से, उसके आराम तथा विलासिता से अलग रखना है; उन्हें प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में संसार से कठिनाइयों और दुखों को लेने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। उन्हें अपने जीवन में कभी भी “खमीर”, अर्थात पाप और सांसारिकता को आने नहीं देना चाहिए, न ही बने रहने देना चाहिए; उन्हें अपने जीवनों को परमेश्वर के सम्मुख, उसके वचन के माध्यम से जाँचते रहना चाहिए कि कहीं कोई भ्रष्ट करने वाले प्रभाव तो घुस नहीं आए हैं, और यदि घुस आए हैं, तो उन्हें प्रभु की सहायता से निकाल देना चाहिए। उन्हें वह लोग होना चाहिए जो अपने मसीही विश्वास के लिए, संसार में पाप के बढ़ते हुए अंधकार के इस समय में, सताए जाने और घोर दुख उठाने के लिये हों, और प्रभु के लिए दृढ़ खड़े रहें। लूका 21:36 से हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वालों को ऐसे लोग होना चाहिए जो पल भर की सूचना पर संसार से कूच करने, और प्रभु के सामने खड़े होने के लिए तैयार रहने वाले हों। जब वे इसकी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हों, तब अपना समय संसार और सांसारिकता के साथ नहीं, किन्तु प्रार्थना, अर्थात परमेश्वर के साथ वार्तालाप और सहभागिता, करते हुए बिताना चाहिए।

        ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

The Holy Communion – 12

English Translation

Exodus 12:8-10 (1) - The Lord’s Table - Participate Only if Willing to Pay the Price (2)

 

       In the previous article we had seen that the Israelites had to prepare and keep themselves ready to depart at a very short notice, in the night. They were to prepare and eat a hurried, unsavory meal, as a part of their preparation. We had also seen the associated symbolisms of these things, and how they relate to the Christian Believers participating in the Holy Communion today; what they teach us for living a Christian life today. Today we will take this topic further and see more things about it.

        Instead of adding anything to flavor their meal, they had to eat it with bitter herbs - bland roasted meat, with flat, heavy unsavory bread, to be eaten with bitter herbs - the Israelites would have had to have a firm resolve and a trying time in eating it in such a hurried manner, in obedience to God! A Born-Again Christian Believer is to be willing to suffer hardships for his faith and for the sake of the Lord Jesus (Philippians 1:29; 2 Timothy 3:12), and remain aloof from worldly things and pleasures that make his life comfortable, but at the cost of compromising with the world. The Believer is to recognize the vanity of all these things and forego them, knowing that they are all perishable and will only bring corruption, not blessings (1 John 2:15-17; James 4:3-4).

        The Lord God had not told them the time when He will be passing through the land of Egypt and cause their deliverance from the Egyptians; all they knew is that it will happen sometime that very night, and they have to remain ready and awake, to depart in a hurry, as it happens. The Lord God carried this out at midnight, and soon afterwards the Egyptians asked the Israelites to leave (Exodus 12:29-33). The Lord Jesus has promised that He will return to take His people so that they should be with Him (John 14:3), but has not told when He will come. But He has given certain signs, the things that will be happening in the world (Matthew 24) when He is about to come. The gist of the signs spoken by the Lord is that all over the world sin and Satan’s power will abound, nature will go awry, peace will be lost, God’s people will be persecuted and severely tested, and many wrong teachings and false doctrines will proliferate - all of which we see is now happening all over the world. In the deep darkness of sin and satanic forces pervading all over the world, the call to depart will suddenly come, and those who are prepared will leave to be with the Lord. God’s children have to remain alert, ready, and praying for their departure; not sleeping or caught up with the things of this world and the cares of this life (Luke 21:34; see from verse 31-36).

        As was the manner in which the Israelites were to prepare themselves, be ready, and participate in the Passover meal. Similarly, those who partake of the Lord’s Table, the Holy Communion, should be the ones who have separated themselves from the world, its pleasures and comforts; have deliberately, in obedience to the Lord, chosen to suffer hardships and discomfort from the world. They should not allow any “leaven” i.e., sin and worldliness, to come in, or to stay in their lives; they should keep examining their lives before the Lord God through His Word and keep removing any corrupting influences that may have come in. They should be the people who, in this worsening darkness of sin that is abounding in the world, are willing to suffer persecution and severe troubles for the sake of their faith and stand up for the Lord. From Luke 21:36 we see that the participants in the Lord’s Table are to be the ones who have prepared themselves to depart from this world at any time, at a moment’s notice, having made themselves ready to stand before the Lord. While they wait to do so, they should spend their time not being involved with the world and worldliness, but praying, i.e., conversing and fellowshipping with the Lord.

        All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see the subsequent verses from Exodus12. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual; and are ready and prepared to stand before the Lord and answer for your life. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ के हमारे इस अध्ययन में हमने देखा है कि प्रभु यीशु ने इसे अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह का भोज खाते समय स्थापित किया था, उन्हें धोखा देकर पकड़वाए जाने, पकड़ कर क्रूस पर चढ़ाने के लिए ले जाए जाने से थोड़ा सा समय पहले। फसह, जिसका वर्णन निर्गमन 12 में, तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा मूसा में होकर दी गई व्यवस्था में दिया गया है, प्रभु भोज का प्ररूप है, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने के संबंध में हमें बहुत सी बातें सिखाता है, क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु ने फसह के भोज की सामग्री में से लेकर ही उनके द्वारा इस मेज़ को स्थापित किया। पुराने नियम में परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए निर्देश, तब से लेकर आज तक वैसे ही और उतने ही सत्य एवं लागू रहें हैं, जितने तब थे जब परमेश्वर ने उन्हें निर्गमन 12 में दिया था। हम देख चुके हैं कि जिस प्रकार से फसह में भाग लेना परमेश्वर के चुने हुए लोगों के लिये था, न कि फसह में भाग लेने से वे परमेश्वर के लोग बन जाते थे; उसी प्रकार से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना परमेश्वर के नया जन्म पाए हुए बच्चों (यूहन्ना 1:12-13) के लिए है, न कि मेज़ में भाग लेने से वे परमेश्वर की संतान बनते हैं। शैतान यह, तथा अनेकों अन्य गलत धारणाएं, गलत शिक्षाएं, और मिथ्या सिद्धांत मसीहियत में घुसाने पाया है क्योंकि लोग परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति उदासीन हो गए हैं, व्यक्तिगत बाइबल अध्ययन करने तथा परमेश्वर के निर्देशों का पालन करने के लिए उन्हें सीखने के प्रति बेपरवाह हैं। अधिकांश के लिए, शैतान की कुटिलता और बहकाने वाले षड्यंत्रों के कारण, मसीहियत, उसकी स्थापना के समय के जी कर दिखाए जाने वाले विश्वास के पंथ या मार्ग (प्रेरितों 9:2; 16:17; 18:26; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22) की बजाए, संसार के अन्य धर्मों के समान ही एक और धर्म बन कर रह गया है, जिसमें इस धर्म की अपनी ही रीतियाँ, रिवाज, अनुष्ठान, परम्पराएं, और त्यौहार हैं। इसलिए शैतान द्वारा गहराई से घुसा दी गई और फैला दी गई शिक्षाओं के प्रभावों के कारण लोग मनुष्यों के द्वारा बनाए और सिखाए गए इन व्यर्थ, महत्वहीन, धार्मिक क्रिया-कर्मों और अनुष्ठानों का निर्वाह करने से ही प्रसन्न और संतुष्ट हैं, शैतान के इस धोखे, इस गलत धारणा पर विश्वास करते हुए कि यह सब करने से वे परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सही और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश पाने के योग्य हो जाते हैं। क्योंकि शायद ही कभी कोई, परमेश्वर के वचन से उन शिक्षाओं को जो उन्हें पुल्पिट से दी जाती हैं, जाँचता है, उनकी पुष्टि करता है, इसलिए शैतान बड़ी सरलता से अपनी गलत शिक्षाओं को घुसाने और उन्हें बड़ी गहराई से मसीहियत में बैठाने पाया है। उसकी यह पकड़ इतनी दृढ़ हो गई है कि लोग उसके द्वारा भ्रष्ट किए गए परमेश्वर के वचन को सत्य स्वीकार करके मानने के लिए तो तैयार रहते हैं, किन्तु परमेश्वर के वचन को पढ़कर उसमें दिए गए सत्य को मानने और उसके अनुसार अपने आप को सुधारने के बारे में उनमें दुविधा और संदेह रहते हैं। आज लोग परमेश्वर के निर्देशों को जानने और मानने और उसे प्रसन्न करने के बजाए, अपने धार्मिक अगुवों की बातों को मानने और उन्हें प्रसन्न रखने में अधिक विश्वास रखते हैं। इसीलिए प्रभु की मेज़ और परमेश्वर के अन्य निर्देशों के बारे में ये गलत धारणाएं और विभिन्न गलतियाँ घर कर गई हैं।

        पिछले लेख में हमें निर्गमन 12:7 से बलि किए गए मेमने के लहू के बारे में देखा था। जिस प्रकार से बलि किए हुए मेमने के लहू की अधीनता में आने के द्वारा इस्राएली बचाए गए थे, उसी प्रकार से प्रभु यीशु मसीह के लहू की अधीनता में आने और उसे समर्पित हो जाने के द्वारा लोग पापों से और पापों के लिए परमेश्वर के न्याय से बचाए जाते हैं। अगले खण्ड, निर्गमन 12:8-10 से हम बलि किए हुए मेमने की देह के बारे में देखेंगे, और यह भी देखेंगे कि यह क्रूस पर प्रभु यीशु के बलिदान के साथ कैसे मेल खाता है। इस खण्ड में बहुत से प्रतीक और चिह्न हैं, इसलिए हम इस खण्ड और उसके इन प्रतीकों और चिह्नों को एक से अधिक लेखों में देखेंगे। आज से हम इस्राएलियों के जल्दी में मिस्र से निकलने के बारे में देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

        परमेश्वर ने इस्राएलियों से कहा था कि वे बहुत कम-सूचना समय में मिस्र से निकलने के लिए तैयार रहें, रात्रि ही में, क्योंकि पहिलौठों की मृत्यु के बाद फिरौन और मिस्री लोग उन्हें बल देकर मिस्र से निकल जाने के लिए कहेंगे (निर्गमन 11)। इसलिए, उन्हें अपने आप को और अपने सामान को मिस्र में से प्रस्थान के लिए तैयार रखना था, रात ही में कूच के लिए तैयार रहना था। इसीलिए उन्हें जल्दबाज़ी में खाए गए थोड़े से भोजन के लिए तैयार रहना था, जिसमें अखमीरी रोटी हो, क्योंकि रोटी के पकाए जाने से पहले आटे को खमीरा करके उसके फूलने तक की प्रतीक्षा का समय नहीं था। खमीरे आटे से बनी रोटी नरम और फूली हुई, तथा स्वाद में अच्छी होती थी; अखमीरे आटे से बनी रोटी कड़ी और बिना फूली हुई होती थी। फसह के मेमने को, उसके बलि किए जाने के बाद सीधे आग पर रखकर संपूर्ण भूना जाना था (निर्गमन 12:9)। उसे काटने, साफ करने और स्वादिष्ट बनाने के लिए किसी बर्तन में अन्य पदार्थों के साथ पकाने की, जैसा कि सामान्यतः माँस को पकाने के लिए किया जाता है, अनुमति नहीं थी। सबके द्वारा भोजन खा लिए जाने के बाद यदि कुछ भोजन बचता, तो उसे जलाया जाना था, पीछे कुछ भी नहीं छूटना था (निर्गमन 12:10)।

        पूरा विवरण एक शीघ्रता का आभास देता है, कि बस पल भर की सूचना के साथ उठकर निकलना होगा, परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें दण्ड देने के बाद जैसे ही फिरौन और मिस्र के लोग उन्हें जाने के लिए कहें। चिह्न के रूप में यह नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा अपने आप को परदेशी और यात्री जानकर हमेशा ही संसार से निकल कर अपने स्थाई घर स्वर्ग जाने के लिए तैयार रहने को दिखाता है, जैसा पवित्र आत्मा के अगुवाई में पतरस ने लिखा है (1 पतरस 2:11)। पतरस द्वारा लिखी यह आयत यह भी कहती है कि प्रभु के शिष्यों को शारीरिक लालसाओं से, जो आत्मा के विरुद्ध लड़ती हैं, बचकर रहना चाहिए, जैसे कि इस्राएलियों को अधिक स्वादिष्ट और नरम खमीरी रोटी तथा सामान्य रीति के अनुसार पकाए गए स्वादिष्ट माँस की बजाए अखमीरी रोटी और आग पर भुने हुए माँस से, जिसमें स्वाद के लिए कुछ भी नहीं मिलाया गया है, संतुष्ट रहना था, और उसे शीघ्रता से खाना था।

       खमीर, जो बाइबल में पाप और सांसारिकता का प्रतीक है, के प्रयोग की मनाही भी इस बात का प्रतीक है कि प्रभु के लोगों को, जो पाप की बंधुवाई से निकलकर कूच कर जाने के लिए तत्पर और तैयार हैं उन्हें अपने जीवनों में भ्रष्ट संसार तथा पाप को आने नहीं देना है। जैसा कि हम आगे के लेखों में देखेंगे, प्रभु की मेज़ का एक उद्देश्य यह भी है कि परमेश्वर की संतान को अपने जीवन को जाँचने का अवसर एवं प्रोत्साहन मिले, जिससे वह देख सके कि उसके जीवन में कोई पाप या भ्रष्ट संसार की बात तो नहीं आ गई है, आई हुए बात को प्रभु के सामने मान ले जिससे कि फैलने और बिगाड़ करने से पहले ही “खमीर” को जीवन से निकाला जा सके।

Exodus 12:8-10 (1) - The Lord’s Table - Participate Only if Willing to Pay the Price (1)

        In this study about the Holy Communion, or, the Lord’s Table we have seen that this was established by the Lord Jesus while partaking of the Passover meal with His disciples, a short while before being betrayed, caught, and being taken for crucifixion. The Passover, described in Exodus 12 and in the Law given by God through Moses, is the antecedent for the Communion, and serves to teach us many things about participating in the Lord’s Table, since the Lord Jesus took the elements of the Passover meal and established the Communion through them. God’s instructions related to the Passover in the Old Testament, have always remained just as true and applicable till now to the Holy Communion, as they were when God had first given them in Exodus 12. We have seen that just as participating in the Passover was meant only for the people of God, and not that the participation made anyone the people of God; similarly partaking of the Lord’s Table is meant only for the Born-Again children of God (John 1:12-13), and not that partaking of the Holy Communion makes the partaker a child of God. Satan has been able to bring into Christianity this and many other misconceptions, wrong teachings and false doctrines, because people have become indifferent to the Word of God, are unconcerned about personal Bible Study and learning God’s instructions to follow, for themselves. For most, instead of being the way of Faith to live by (Acts 9:2; 16:17; 18:26; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22), as it was at its inception, Christianity has become a religion, like any other religion of the world, with its own rites, rituals, ceremonies, traditions, and festivals, because of the cunningness and beguiling strategies of Satan. Therefore, under these pervading and prevailing satanic influences, people are quite content, quite satisfied in fulfilling these vain, inconsequential, man-made, religious formalities and rituals, erroneously believing Satan’s deception that their doing this makes them right with God, worthy of entering heaven. Since hardly anyone bothers to ever cross-check from the Word of God, what is taught to them from the pulpit therefore, Satan has very easily been able to firmly and deeply establish his wrong teachings into Christianity, so much so that today people readily accept and follow his corruption of God’ Word as the truth, but have doubts and reservations about correcting themselves and reverting back to the instructions given by God in His Word. People are more concerned about obeying and pleasing their religious leaders, than they are about obeying and pleasing God. Therefore, all these misconceptions and errors about the Lord’s table and other instructions of God have taken hold in Christianity.

        In the Last article we had seen from Exodus 12:7 about the blood of the sacrificed lamb. Just as the blood of the sacrificed Passover lamb provided the saving cover for the Israelites, similarly, submission to the Lord Jesus and coming under the blood of Jesus Christ - the Lamb of God, saves people from their sins and God’s judgment for sins. From the next section, Exodus 12:8-10 we will see about the body of the sacrificial lamb, and how it relates to the sacrifice on the cross of the Lord Jesus. There are a lot of symbolisms here, in this section, and we will consider this section and the symbolisms in more than one article. From today we will begin seeing about hurried departure of the Israelites from Egypt.

        The Israelites had been told by God to be ready and prepared to depart from Egypt at very short notice, in the night itself, since after the plague of killing the first-borns, Pharaoh and the Egyptians will compel them to leave Egypt (Exodus 11). So, they had to keep their things and themselves ready for departure, and moving out of Egypt in the night itself. Therefore, they had to eat a short and hurried meal, using unleavened bread, since there was no time to have the dough leavened and rise before being baked. The bread made from leavened dough was light and round, softer and tastier than the one made from unleavened bread, which was heavy, flat and harder in texture. The Passover lamb, after being sacrificed, was to be roasted whole (Exodus 12:9), directly on the fire, instead of being cleaned, cut in pieces, and cooked in a pot with various other ingredients to make it savory, as meat would ordinarily be cooked. After eating the meal, the remaining meal had to be burnt, nothing had to be left behind (Exodus 12:10).

        The whole picture gives a sense of urgency, of getting ready and being prepared to depart at a moment’s notice, as soon as Pharaoh and the Egyptians ask them to leave, after God had punished the Egyptians. Symbolically, this is a picture of Born-Again Christian Believers considering themselves as sojourners and pilgrims, always being ready to depart from this world and go to their permanent eternal home, as the Holy Spirit has had it written through Peter (1 Peter 2:11). This verse from Peter also says that the Lord’s disciples should abstain from fleshly lusts that war against the soul; just as the Israelites were to forsake the tastier and softer leavened bread and properly cooked meat, and be content with unleavened bread and meat directly roasted on fire, without any flavoring added to it, and eat it in a haste.

       Forbidding of using leaven, which is a Biblical symbol of sin and worldliness, is also symbolic of not letting any corruption of the world and sin come into the lives of God’s people who are ready and prepared to depart from the bondage of sin. As we will see later, one of the purposes of the Lord’s Table is to provide an opportunity, and encourage a child of God to examine his life, and see if any sin, corruption of the world has come in, and to confess it before the Lord, so that this “leaven” is eliminated before it spreads and spoils.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       पिछले लेख में हमने निर्गमन 12:7 में परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने लोगों, इस्राएलियों को दिए गए निर्देशों के पालन और उनके निहितार्थों के बारे में देखा था। वे निहितार्थ आज प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने के साथ भी लागू हैं। जिस प्रकार से उस समय इस्राएलियों के लिए परमेश्वर की आज्ञा मानना अनिवार्य था, वैकल्पिक नहीं; उसी प्रकार से आज प्रभु के लोगों के लिए प्रभु-भोज के बारे में प्रभु के निर्देशों का पालन करना अनिवार्य है। आज हम निर्गमन 12:7 के निहितार्थों को प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने वालों के द्वारा व्यावहारिक रीति से पालन करने के बारे में देखेंगे। 

        किसी के लिए भी यह सोचना कि वह परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में किसी अन्य रीति से धर्मी और स्वीकार्य हो सकता है, जैसे कि, धर्म या भक्ति का निर्वाह करना, भले कार्य करने, अपने डिनॉमिनेशन के सभी रीतियों, परंपराओं एवं विधियों, और अनुष्ठानों का पालन करने, भले होने, लोगों की दृष्टि में प्रशंसनीय एवं सराहनीय होने, आदि,  वास्तव में, अपने उद्धार क लिए उस व्यक्ति का परमेश्वर में तथा परमेश्वर की कार्य-विधि में अविश्वास करना, तथा अपने ही तरीकों पर भरोसा रखना है। यह पाप में गिरे हुए मनुष्य का परमेश्वर से यह कहना है कि वह अपनी पाप के द्वारा भ्रष्ट बुद्धि से भी अपने लिए सोच सकता है और परमेश्वर से भी बेहतर तरीका निकाल सकता है, वह करने के लिए जिसके लिए परमेश्वर को इतना पीड़ा दायक और वीभत्स तरीका अपनाना पड़ा। यह करने और समझने का अभिप्राय है कि जिस काम को करने के लिए प्रभु यीशु को स्वर्ग की महिमा छोड़ कर पृथ्वी पर मनुष्य बनकर आना और रहना पड़ा, घोर अपमान और तिरस्कार तथा कठोर सताव सहना पड़ा, और अन्ततः निष्पाप और निष्कलंक होते हुए भी एक अपराधी के समान निंदनीय मृत्यु को सहना पड़ा; मनुष्य अपने कार्यों और विधियों के द्वारा उसी कार्य को कर सकता है, और वह भी साथ ही संसार से प्रशंसा और सराहना को अर्जित करते हुए। यह परमेश्वर का, प्रभु यीशु मसीह और क्रूस पर दिए गए उसके बलिदान का अपमान करना है, उसे ठट्ठों में उड़ाना है; अपने आप को परमेश्वर से भी बढ़ाकर दिखाना है; जो घमण्ड और अपनी बड़ाई करने का वही पाप है जो स्वर्ग में लूसिफर ने किया, और उसे स्वर्ग से निकाल कर गिरा दिया गया, वह शैतान बन गया। ऐसी सभी प्रवृत्तियों और प्रयासों को बाइबल पहले ही व्यर्थ और निकम्मा बता चुकी है (इफिसियों 2:1-9; 1 पतरस 1:18-19) और उनका तिरस्कार किया जा चुका है। यह केवल और केवल परमेश्वर के बलि के मेमने - प्रभु यीशु मसीह, के लहू के नीचे आने, उसे समर्पित हो जाने, “उसके लोग” हो जाने ताकि वह उन्हें उनके पापों से बचा सके (मत्ती 1:21) के द्वारा ही संभव है कि लोग अनंतकाल की मृत्यु - उनके पापों के लिए परमेश्वर के न्याय से बचाए जाएं।

        जो प्रभु की मेज़, या प्रभु भोज में भाग लेते हैं, उन्हें इस एहसास के साथ इसमें भाग लेना चाहिए कि जब तक कि वे पहले प्रभु यीशु के बहाए गए लहू की अधीनता में नहीं आए हैं, अर्थात, जब तक कि उन्होंने वास्तविकता में और पूर्णतः अपना जीवन प्रभु को समर्पित नहीं किया है, मनुष्यों के प्रचार और शिक्षाओं का पालन नहीं वरन प्रभु और उसके वचन का पालन करने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में जीने का दृढ़ निर्णय नहीं लिया है, और मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाला नहीं वरन परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला होकर रहने (गलातियों 1:10) को नहीं अपना लिया है, तब तक वे चाहे कुछ भी करें, उनके लिए सब व्यर्थ और महत्वहीन है। मृत्यु के दूत ने यह नहीं देखा कि घर के अन्दर कौन है और कैसा है, उसने केवल यही देखा कि घर के बाहर लहू का चिह्न लगा है कि नहीं। यदि बलि किए गए मेमने का लहू घर के बाहर लगा हुआ था, तो वह उस घर पर से लांघ गया, उसे छोड़ कर आगे बढ़कर गया; अन्यथा उस घर में मृत्यु अवश्य ही आई, चाहे उस घर के लोग औरों की दृष्टि में कैसे भी क्यों न रहे हों। यदि आप प्रभु यीशु के बहाए हुए लहू की अधीनता में नहीं आए हैं, तो आप चाहे जो भी कर लें, आप अपने पापों के कारण परमेश्वर के न्याय और दण्ड को टालने या हटाने नहीं पाएंगे।

        अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

Exodus 12:7 - The Lord’s Table - Participate After Obeying & Surrendering (2)

 

       In the last article we had seen from Exodus 12:7 the necessity of God's people, the Israelites obeying the instructions given by God and their implications. Those implications are applicable even today for those participating in the Holy-Communion. As it was then essential, not optional, for the Israelites to obey God's instructions; similarly, today too it is essential for the Lord's people to obey what the Lord has taught about the Lord's Table. Today we will see the practical application of these implications, by those who partake of the Lord's Table, in their lives.

        For anyone to think that he can be righteous and acceptable to God by some other means, e.g., by being religious, or pious, or doing good works, carrying out all the rites, rituals, ceremonies of their denomination, by being good, well-spoken of and commended by people, etc. is actually disbelieving in God, not having faith in God’s way of doing things and trusting in himself for his salvation. It is sinful men telling God that they too, with their fallen and sin-corrupted minds, can think and work things out for themselves, even better than God, to accomplish something for which God had to take such a painful and terrible course. It is implying that what the Lord Jesus accomplished by giving up His heavenly glory, coming down to earth and living as a man on earth, being humiliated, rejected, made to suffer severely, and ultimately be killed disgracefully as a criminal, despite being sinless and having done no wrong, a man can accomplish the same through his own methods and works, while simultaneously gathering praise and exaltation from the world. In other words, it is belittling and scoffing God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Lord’s sacrifice on the Cross; and raising self to be above God - the same sin of pride and self-aggrandizement that Lucifer committed and was cast out of heaven, became Satan. The Bible has already called any such tendencies and efforts as vain and inconsequential (Ephesians 2:1-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19) and rejected them. It is only one’s coming under the blood of the sacrificial Lamb of God - the Lord Jesus Christ, surrendering to Him, becoming “His people'', so that He can save them from their sins (Matthew 1:21), that can save people from eternal death - God’s judgment for their sin.

        Those who partake of the Lord’s Table, the Holy Communion of God, should do so realizing that unless they have first come under the shed blood of the Lord Jesus, i.e., have actually and fully surrendered their lives to Him, committed themselves to live in obedience not to the preaching and teachings of men, but to the Lord and His Word, and have decided to be not ‘man-pleasers’ but ‘God-pleasers’ (Galatians 1:10), everything else is vain and inconsequential. The Angel of death did not see who was inside the house, He only saw what was on the outside of the house. If the blood of the sacrificed lamb was there on the outside, he passed over that house; else death came to that house no matter who or what kind of person was inside. If you have not come under the shed blood of the Lord Jesus, whatever else you do, you will not be able to turn away God’s judgment and punishment for sins.

        In the next article we will carry on from here and see the subsequent verses from Exodus. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

       हम प्रभु भोज, या, प्रभु की मेज़ के बारे में यह अध्ययन पुराने नियम में दिए गए उसके प्ररूप, फसह, जिसका वर्णन निर्गमन 12 और मूसा में होकर परमेश्वर के द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था में दिया गया है, को आधार बना कर रहे हैं। हम देख चुके हैं कि प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु भोज, या, इस मेज़ को अपने शिष्यों के साथ फसह का भोज खाने के दौरान, उसी भोज की सामग्री के द्वारा किया था। साथ ही, न तो प्रभु यीशु ने इस मेज़ या प्रभु भोज को स्थापित करते समय, और न ही बाद में पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा और अगुवाई से नए नियम के लेखों को लिखने वाले लेखकों ने, फसह के लिये परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई विधियों या निर्देशों में से किसी एक को भी न तो रद्द किया, न उसमें कोई परिवर्तन किया, और न ही उसके स्थान पर कोई अन्य बात लागू की; वरन, सभी ने उन्हीं विधियों और निर्देशों के आधार पर ही आगे कहा। हमने यह भी देखा था कि दोनों, फसह और प्रभु भोज, परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिये दिए गए; न कि उनमें भाग लेने से कोई परमेश्वर का जन बन जात है। परमेश्वर के वचन और निर्देशों से संबन्धित यह और ऐसी ही अन्य गलत शिक्षाएं शैतान द्वारा मसीहियत में डाल दी गईं क्योंकि लोग परमेश्वर के वचन का अध्ययन करने और उसके सत्य एवं तथ्य सीखने, तथा व्यक्तिगत जीवन में उनका पालन करने और उन्हें कलीसिया के जीवन में लागू करने के प्रति उदासीन और बेपरवाह हो गए हैं। इसके स्थान पर अब लोग केवल पुल्पिट से दिए गए संदेशों को सुनने और बिना वचन से उन्हें जाँचे और उनकी पुष्टि करे, उन्हें स्वीकार करने और पालन करने वाले हो गए हैं। इस कारण से वे अब परमेश्वर की इच्छा जान कर उसे पूरा करने और परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाले होने की बजाए मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न वाले, अर्थात, उनके धार्मिक अगुवे जो भी उन्हें कहते हैं, उसी का पालन करने वाले बन गए हैं। इन बातों के कारण, प्रभु भोज के बारे में परमेश्वर के निर्देशों को सीखने और मानने की बजाए, लोग केवल एक औपचारिकता या रीति के समान प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वाले हो गए हैं; लेकिन फिर भी यही समझते और मानते हैं कि ऐसा करने से वे परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य और स्वर्ग में प्रवेश के योग्य हो जाएंगे, जो बाइबल के अनुसार कदापि सही नहीं है। परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्गमन 12 अध्याय में दिए गए निर्देशों से हमने प्रभु भोज के अर्थ एवं महत्व के बारे में कई बातें सीखीं हैं। आज हम निर्गमन 12:7 में दिए गए परमेश्वर के अगले निर्देश के बारे में देखेंगे, और प्रभु भोज में अपने सम्मिलित होने के विषय शिक्षा लेंगे।

        निर्गमन 12:7 - पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि फसह के मेमने को महीने के चौदहवें दिन गोधूलि के समय बलि किया जाना था, और किस प्रकार से परमेश्वर के मेमने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का क्रूस पर चढ़ाया जाना और मारा जाना इस बात को पूरा करता था।  पद 7 हमें बताता है कि मेमने के बलि किए जाने के बाद फिर आगे क्या करना था। मेमने के बलि करने पर उसका लहू बहता था। बलि चढ़ाने की उस रात्रि को, परमेश्वर का न्याय मिस्र पर, जिसने परमेश्वर के लोगों को बंधुवाई में रखा हुआ था, आना था; और उसका मृत्यु का दूत मिस्र में प्रत्येक पहलौठे को मारने वाला था, वह चाहे मनुष्य का हो या पशु का (निर्गमन 12:12)। वह मिस्रियों के लिये न्याय की, और इस्राएलियों के लिए छुटकारे की रात होनी थी; सांकेतिक रीति से संसार के लिये न्याय और परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिये छुटकारे का समय होना था। किन्तु इस्राएलियों को भी कुछ करना था, परमेश्वर में अपने विश्वास और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के लिए सहमत होने को दर्शाने के लिए उन्हें अपने घरों की चौखटों और अलंगों पर जिस मेमने को उन्होंने बलि किया था, उसी के लहू को लगाना था। परमेश्वर ने कहा था जिस भी घर पर लहू लगा होगा वह उसे छोड़ देगा; उसके अतिरिक्त जितने भी घर होंगे उन में पहलौठे मारे जाएंगे।

        जिस प्रकार से इस्राएलियों को बलि किए हुए मेमने के लगाए हुए लहू में न्याय और मृत्यु से बचने के लिये भरोसा रखना था, इस नए नियम के समय में लोगों को प्रभु यीशु के बहाए हुए लहू पर अपने पापों की क्षमा, उनसे छुड़ाए जाने और उनकी शुद्धि के लिए भरोसा रखना है (रोमियों 3:25; इफिसियों 1:7; कुलुस्सियों 1:14; 1 यूहन्ना 1:7; प्रकाशितवाक्य 1:5), परमेश्वर के न्याय और पापों के दण्ड से बचने के लिए।

        यहाँ पर थोड़ा रुक कर इस अद्भुत तथ्य, इसके महत्व, तथा तात्पर्यों पर कुछ विचार करने की आवश्यकता है। प्रभु परमेश्वर द्वारा यह पहचान करने के लिए कि किस घर में जाना है, और किस को लांघना या छोड़ना है - इसीलिए उसे लाँघन पर्व भी कहा गया है, केवल एक ही तरीका दिया गया था। बलि किए हुए मेमने के लहू को चौखटों और अलंगों पर लगाने के अतिरिक्त मृत्यु के घर में आने से रोकने का और कोई तरीका नहीं था। परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित विधि के अनुसार लहू लगाना परमेश्वर में विश्वास और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में रहने का चिह्न था। उसी प्रकार से, आज, प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास करने, उसके लहू के बहाए जाने, और कलवरी के क्रूस पर दिए गए उसके बलिदान को स्वीकार करने, उसके बहाए गए लहू के अधीन आने, अर्थात प्रभु यीशु को व्यक्तिगत रीति से अपना उद्धारकर्ता स्वीकार करने के अतिरिक्त किसी के लिए भी पापों के लिए न्याय और दण्ड से बचने का और कोई तरीका नहीं है। यह किसी मनुष्य की कही हुई बात नहीं है; जैसा कि निर्गमन 12 में यह परमेश्वर ने कहा था, इस युग में भी, यह बात परमेश्वर द्वारा ही निर्धारित की गई तथा कही गई है। परमेश्वर के निर्देश अटल, अपरिवर्तनीय, तथा पूर्ण रूप से मान्य हैं।

        अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे चलेंगे तथा इस पद की बातों के अभिप्रायों को आज के प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने के निहितार्थों के साथ मिलाकर देखेंगे कि प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने वालों को इन बातों को अपने जीवनों में व्यावहारिक रीति से लागू करना है।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:7 - The Lord’s Table - Participate After Obeying & Surrendering (1)

 

       We are doing this study on the Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Table, based upon its Old Testament antecedent, the Passover, described in Exodus 12 and in the Law given through Moses by the Lord. We have seen that the Lord Jesus established the Communion or Table while participating in the Passover meal with His disciples and using the elements of the Passover meal. Also, neither the Lord Jesus, while establishing the Communion or the Table, nor the authors of the later New Testament writings under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit, ever annulled, changed, or replaced anything God had said related to the Passover; rather, they all built upon those instructions. We also saw that both the Passover and the Holy Communion were given for the people of God; and not that their participation in them made them the people of God. This and other wrong teachings about God’s Word and instructions have been brought in by Satan into Christianity, because people have become unconcerned about studying God’s Word, learning its truths, and striving to apply those truths in their own lives and in the practices of the Church. Instead, people are now content with accepting whatever is told to them from the pulpit, without verifying it from God’s Word before following it. This has also turned them into being ‘men-pleasers’, i.e., those who are interested in doing whatever their religious leaders tell them, instead of learning what God wants them to do and doing that, and be a ‘God-pleaser.’ Because of these things, people instead of learning and following God’s instructions about the Communion, are content in participating in the Lord’s Table perfunctorily, as a ritual, while presumptively and quite erroneously believing that doing this has made them acceptable to God and worthy of entering heaven. Through the instructions given by God in Exodus 12 about the Passover, we have learnt many things about what the Holy Communion means, and what its significance is. Today we will see the next instruction given by God in Exodus 12:7, and learn from it for our participation in the Lord’s Table.

        Exodus 12:7 - In the last article we had seen that the sacrificial lamb for the Passover had to be killed at twilight on the fourteenth day of the month, and how the crucifixion and death of Lord Jesus - the Lamb of God, fulfilled this requirement. Verses 7 tells us of God’s instructions of what to do next with this sacrificed lamb. In sacrificing the lamb, its blood was shed. The night of this sacrifice, God’s judgment was going to fall on the Egyptians who had kept His people under bondage, and His Angel of death was going to kill every first-born, whether of men or animals in the land of Egypt (Exodus 12:12). It was the night of judgment for the Egyptians and deliverance for the Israelites, symbolically, judgment for the world and deliverance for the people of God. But the Israelites were to do something, as an act of faith in God and a sign of their willingness to obey Him - they had to mark their houses, on the door-posts and the lintel, with the blood of the same lamb that they had sacrificed. God had said that He would spare all the houses which were marked by the blood of the lamb that had been sacrificed; in all the other houses, all the first-born would die.

        Just as the Israelites had to trust in the blood of the sacrificed lamb applied to their houses for escaping judgment and death, in the New Testament times, people have to trust in the Lord Jesus’s blood shed for the forgiveness, redemption and cleansing from their sins (Romans 3:25; Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; 1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5), to be saved from God’s judgment and punishment for their sins.

        One needs to stop and ponder upon this astounding fact, upon its significance and implications. There was only one way given by the Lord God to differentiate which house to visit and execute His judgement, and which house to ‘pass over’ i.e., skip - hence the name “Passover.” Other than applying the blood of the sacrificed lamb to the door-posts and lintel, there was no other means or way of escaping God’s visiting death upon the house. The applying of the blood in the given manner was a sign of faith as well as of obedience to God. Similarly, today, except for trusting in the Lord Jesus, His shedding of His blood, and His sacrificial death on the Cross of Calvary, and coming under that shed blood, i.e., submitting to the Lord Jesus accepting Him as the personal savior, there is no other God given way for anyone to escape judgment and punishment for their sins. No man has said this; like it was God who had said this in Exodus 12, similarly, in this age too, it is God who has said and ordained this. God’s instructions are irrevocable, unalterable and absolutely binding.

        In the next article we will carry on from here and will consider the understanding of this verse along with the implications of participating in the Lord's Table today, and understand how the participants must practically apply them to their lives.
