आरम्भिक विचार – 3

    हम अब परमेश्वर के वचन, बाइबल के सही अध्ययन और उपयोग के द्वारा मसीही विश्वासी की बढ़ोतरी के बारे में अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि बाइबल परमेश्वर के वचन की सही सेवकाई पर बहुत महत्व देती है, क्योंकि मसीही विश्वासियों और कलीसियाओं की बढ़ोतरी एवं उन्नति उसे पर निर्भर है। हमने देखा है कि पहली शताब्दी में सारे सँसार भर में कलीसियाओं और मसीही विश्वासियों की तीव्र स्थापना और बढ़ोतरी का प्रमुख कारण था परमेश्वर के वचन की सही सेवकाई, वचन का बिना किसी मिलावट के, बिना उसे भ्रष्ट किए प्रचार करना। इसके विपरीत, जब भी और जहाँ भी परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई में कोई कमी आई, तो उससे कलीसिया और विश्वासियों की बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति पर बुरा असर पड़ा। यह कमी वचन की सेवकाई में मात्रा तथा गुणवत्ता, दोनों में हो सकती है; अर्थात, मात्रा, यानि शिक्षाओं की सँख्या और सामग्री में घटी, और गुणवत्ता, यानि परमेश्वर के वचन में मनुष्यों की समझ और बुद्धि की बातें मिलाना।

    परमेश्वर के वचन को सही रीति से सीखने और उसे उसकी शुद्धता और सत्यता में सीखने के महत्व को इस बाट से समझा जा सकता है कि परमेश्वर ने न केवल अपना वचन हमारे हाथों में रखा है, वरन, उसे सिखाने के लिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को अपना पवित्र आत्मा भी दिया है (यूहन्ना 14:26)। जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था, पौलुस  इफिसुस के मसीही विश्वासियों के साथ अपने विदाई वार्तालाप में बल देकर उन्हें स्मरण करवाता है कि उसने उन से किसी प्रकार की कोई शिक्षा रोक कर नहीं रखी, ‘परमेश्वर की सारी मनसा’ उन पर प्रकट की (प्रेरितों 20:20, 27)। विश्वासियों तथा कलीसिया की आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति, तथा परमेश्वर के सारी मनसा को सीखने के लिए बाइबल हमें तीन तरह की शिक्षाओं के बारे में बताती है। जिन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई सौंपी गई है, उन्हें इस बात का ध्यान करना चाहिए और अपनी सेवकाई को, पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, इन के अनुसार स्वरूप देना चाहिए। हम इस श्रृंखला में बाइबल की इन्हीं तीन प्रकार शिक्षाओं के अनुसार सीखेंगे। ये तीन प्रकार की शिक्षाएँ हैं:

    पहली, सुसमाचार: प्रभु की सेवकाई के लिए, शिष्यों को करने के लिए कही गई प्राथमिक बात थी सुसमाचार का प्रचार (मत्ती 28:19; मरकुस 16:15; लूका 24:46-48; प्रेरितों 1:8)। पौलुस ने, कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली को लिखी अपनी पत्री, जिसमें उसने उनकी अनेकों गलतियों और कमियों को उजागर किया और उनके निवारण का उपाय बताया, के समापन पर आते हुए उन्हें फिर से सुसमाचार का स्मरण करवाया – 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-4। दूसरे शब्दों में, सुसमाचार केवल लोगों को उद्धार तक लाने के लिए ही नहीं है, वरन वह व्यक्तिगत तथा कलीसिया के जीवन में सभी समस्याओं का उपाय भी प्रदान करता है। तात्पर्य यह कि यदि विश्वासी बारंबार अपने जीवन, अपनी मान्यताओं, व्यवहार, उसे मिलने वाली शिक्षाओं, आदि को सुसमाचार के समक्ष लाकर, उन बातों का आँकलन करता है, तो वह सही और गलत की पहचान करने पाएगा, और भटकाएगा नहीं जा सकेगा। ऐसी कोई भी बात जो उसे प्रभु यीशु की शिक्षाओं से अलग ले जाती है, या किसी भी रीति से उनमें कुछ जोड़ती अथवा उन में से कुछ हटाती है; या लोगों को क्रूस पर दिए गए प्रभु के बलिदान तथा उसके मृतकों में से पुनरुत्थान के अतिरिक्त अन्य किसी भी बात पर विश्वास करवाती है, वह गलत शिक्षा है, और उसे न तो स्वीकार किया जाना चाहिए और न ही उसका पालन किया जाना चाहिए; वह चाहे कितनी भी भक्तिपूर्ण, तर्कसंगत, और आकर्षक क्यों न लगे, और उसका निर्वाह करने, प्रचार करने, और सिखाने वाला चाहे कोई भी क्यों हो।

    दूसरी, आरंभिक शिक्षाएँ: इब्रानियों का लेखक, इब्रानियों 5:12 में लिखता है कि उसके पाठक इस हद तक पीछे हट चुके थे कि उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन की आदि शिक्षा को फिर से सिखाने की आवश्यकता हो गई थी। फिर वह इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में उन छः आरंभ की बातों को बताता है, जिन्हें वह शिक्षा रूपी नेव कहता है, और इसलिए ये हैं वे बातें जिन्हें सभी कलीसियाओं में सिखाए जाने की आवश्यकता है। ये छः बातें हैं: 1. मरे हुए कामों से मन फिराना, 2. परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करना, 3. बपतिस्मों, 4. हाथ रखना, 5. मरे हुओं के जी उठना, 6. अन्तिम न्याय। इन सिद्धांतों से संबंधित शिक्षाओं को भूल जाने का वही परिणाम होगा जो इब्रानियों के लेखक ने कहा है – विश्वासी अपने आत्मिक जीवन में पिछड़ जाएँगे, और इस कारण कलीसिया भी पिछड़ जाएगी।

    तीसरी, मसीही जीवन जीने से संबंधित: सभी विश्वासियों के लिए कुछ निर्देश, पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, यरूशलेम में प्रेरितों और अगुवों के द्वारा निर्धारित और स्थापित किए गए थे (प्रेरितों 15:28-31); ये थे, “तुम मूरतों के बलि किए हुओं से, और लहू से, और गला घोंटे हुओं के मांस से, और व्यभिचार से, परे रहो। इन से परे रहो;” ये सभी कलीसियाओं के द्वारा पालन करने के लिए थे, और उन्हें पहुँचाए गए, तथा इनके पालन से कलीसियाओं में उन्नति हुई (प्रेरितों 16:4-5)।

    यह कलीसियाओं के अगुवों की, तथा उनकी जिन्हें वचन की शिक्षा देने की सेवकाई सौंपी गई है, की ज़िम्मेदारी है कि वे यह देखें कि ये तीनों तरह की बातें प्रत्येक विश्वासी को, नया हो या पुराना, और कलीसिया को सिखाई तथा याद दिलाई जाएँ। जैसे कि आरंभिक बातों के संदर्भ में इब्रानियों 5:11-14 में लिखा गया है, इन नेव समान आरंभिक सिद्धांतों को न जानना या भूल जाना, आत्मिक परिपक्वता को हानि पहुँचता है, विश्वासियों को “ऊँचा सुनने” वाला बना देता है, और ठोस आत्मिक भोजन लेने के अयोग्य कर देता है।

    अगले लेख में हम इन तीन में से पहली तरह की शिक्षा, सुसमाचार प्रचार और पालन के बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन से कुछ बातें देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Preliminary Considerations – 3

 

    We are now studying a Christian Believer’s growth through proper study and utilization of God’s Word, the Bible. In the preceding articles we have seen that the Bible teaches the paramount importance of a proper ministry of God’s Word for the growth of the Christian Believers and the Church. We saw that in the first century the rapid growth and establishment of Churches and Christian Believers all over the world was mainly because of a proper ministry of the unadulterated, uncorrupted Word of God. On the other hand, whenever and wherever there was a shortcoming in the ministry of God's Word, it adversely affected the growth of the Church and of the Christian Believers. This shortcoming in the ministry of the Word can be in quantity as well as quality, i.e., quantitatively, teachings inadequate in/or number and frequency; and qualitatively, teachings that adulterate God’s Word with human thoughts and wisdom.

    The importance of properly learning God’s Word, and learning it in its purity and truth can be understood by the fact that not only has God placed His Word in our hands, but has also given His Holy Spirit to every Believer to teach the Word (John 14:26). As we saw in the last article, Paul in his farewell address to the Ephesian Believers emphatically reminded them that he had made it a point not to hold back anything from them, and to teach to them the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:20, 27). To learn this ‘whole counsel of God,’ the Bible gives us three Categories of Teachings, essential for the spiritual growth and progress of the Believers and the Church. Those entrusted with the ministry of sharing God’s Word should take note and model their ministry accordingly, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. These three categories are:

    First, the Gospel: Preaching the gospel was the basic thing that the disciples of the Lord Jesus were told to do in their ministry for the Lord (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; Acts 1:8). Paul in concluding his first letter to Corinthians, in which he pointed out their numerous short-comings and errors, and showed them how to correct those errors, towards the conclusion of his letter, brought them back to the gospel - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. In other words, the gospel is not meant only to bring people to salvation, but it is also the panacea for all problems in personal and Church life. The implication is that if the Believers learn to repeatedly evaluate their lives, beliefs, practices, teachings they have received, etc., against the gospel, they will also learn to identify the right from the wrong, and will not be led astray. Anything that leads them astray from the Lord Jesus’s teachings, in any manner adds to, or takes away from those teachings; or makes people trust in anything other than the Lord’s sacrifice on the Cross and His resurrection from the grave, is a wrong teaching; and is not to be accepted or followed, no matter how pious, logical, and attractive it may seem, and no matter who practices, preaches, and teaches it.

    Second, the Basic Principles: The author of Hebrews says in Hebrews 5:12 that his audience had deteriorated to the point that they required the basic principles be taught to them again. Then in Hebrews 6:1-2 he mentions the six basic topics, the elementary principles, he calls them foundational teachings, therefore they are those that should be taught in all the churches. These six are: 1. Repentance from dead works; 2. Faith towards God, 3. Doctrine of Baptisms, 4. Laying on of hands, 5. Resurrection of dead, 6. Eternal judgement. Forgetting the teachings related to these principles, will produce the same effect as the author of this letter to Hebrews has mentioned – Believers will deteriorate in their spiritual lives, and therefore, the Church will also deteriorate.

    Third, regarding Christian living: Some instructions for all the Believers, were determined and established by the Apostles and Elders of Jerusalem under the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Acts 15:28-31); namely, “abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality”. They were meant to be followed by all the Churches, were delivered to the Churches, and obeying them resulted in the growth of the Churches (Acts 16:4-5).

    It is the responsibility of the Church Elders and those entrusted with the ministry of teaching God’s Word to see that teachings of these three categories are taught and reminded to every Believer, new and old, and to the Church. As it is written in context of the basic principles, in Hebrews 5:11-14, not knowing, or forgetting these foundational Biblical teachings, leads to deterioration of spiritual maturity, makes the Believers “dull of hearing,” and unable to take in solid spiritual food.

    In the next article, we will start considering about the first of these three kinds of teachings, i.e., about preaching and following the Gospel from God’s Word.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख से हमने परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में से एक नई श्रृंखला – कलीसिया और मसीही जीवन में परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा बढ़ोतरी के बारे में सीखना आरंभ किया है। हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि प्रथम शताब्दी में मसीहियत की तीव्रता से होने वाली स्थापना और बढ़ोतरी का मुख्य कारण प्रेरितों तथा अन्य प्रभु के सेवकों के द्वारा वचन को उसकी शुद्धता में प्रचार करना और सिखाया जाना था। उस समय नए नियम की पुस्तकें और पत्रियाँ अभी लिखे जा रहे थे, प्रचार और शिक्षा मुख्यतः मौखिक होते थे, और शैतान के लोगों ने भी गलत सिद्धांतों और झूठी शिक्षाओं का प्रचार आरंभ कर दिया था।

    बाइबल हमने बताती है कि कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी का मुख्य कारण परमेश्वर का वचन है। परमेश्वर अपने वचन में होकर विश्वासियों से बात करता है, उनका मार्गदर्शन करता है। बाइबल में दिखाया गया नमूना है कि यदि मण्डली में परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई सही है, तो कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति भी होगी। जहाँ परमेश्वर का वचन पनपता है, वहाँ परमेश्वर के लोग भी पनपते हैं। यदि लोगों को परमेश्वर के वचन का उचित पोषण नहीं मिलेगा, वह चाहे उन लोगों की अपनी कमियों-कमजोरियों के कारण हो (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-13; इब्रानियों 5:12), या परमेश्वर के वचन के सेवकों में कोई कमियों-कमजोरियों के कारण हो, तो विश्वासियों की, तथा साथ ही कलीसिया की भी परिपक्वता और बढ़ोतरी की हानि होगी। इसे हम पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा पौलुस में होकर तीमुथियुस को दी गई चेतावनी में देखते हैं (2 तीमुथियुस 2:14-17), जहाँ पौलुस तीमुथियुस को लिखता है कि परमेश्वर के वचन का सही उपयोग न करना लज्जा, अभक्ति, अशुद्ध बकवाद का कारण हो जाता है, ऐसे सन्देश सड़े-घाव के समान फैलते चले जाते हैं और सुनने वालों की हानि का कारण हो जाते हैं (साथ ही 1 तीमुथियुस 6:20 और तीतुस 3:9 भी देखिए)। इसके विपरीत, परमेश्वर के वचन का उपयोग उपदेश देने, समझाने, सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिए करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के जन सिद्ध बनते हैं और हर एक भले काम के लिए तत्पर हो जाते हैं। इसीलिए पौलुस ने इफिसुस के मसीहियों से अपने विदाई संदेश में उन्हें बल देकर स्मरण कराया कि उसने उन्हें सब कुछ सिखाया और परमेश्वर की सम्पूर्ण मनसा उन्हें सिखाने से बिल्कुल नहीं झिझका (प्रेरितों 20:20-27)। झूठी शिक्षाओं और गलत सिद्धांतों के प्रचार और पालन के लिए शैतान और उसके दूत मुख्यतः तीन आधारभूत बातों को बिगाड़ कर, भ्रष्ट कर के सिखाते हैं – वे किसी दूसरे ही यीशु का प्रचार करते हैं, किसी भिन्न और ही आत्मा की बातें करते हैं जो प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए विश्वासियों को दिए गए पवित्र आत्मा की बातों से भिन्न होती हैं, या कोई अलग ही सुसमाचार सिखाते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3-4)।

    इसलिए, परमेश्वर से बढ़ोतरी (कुलुस्सियों 2:9) का न मिलना, इस बात का संकेत है कि कलीसिया में परमेश्वर के वचन को लेने और देने में कोई गड़बड़ी है। जैसे कि मानव-शरीर में, वैसे ही कलीसिया में यह बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति सही वचन – परमेश्वर के वचन के पर्याप्त और नियमित पोषण के मिलते रहने से होती है। इसलिए यदि कलीसिया की उन्नति नहीं हो रही है, तो दूध-पीने वाले बच्चे की बढ़ोतरी न होने के समान, दूध में कोई कमी है, अर्थात उस कलीसिया में परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई में कुछ कमी है। यह कमी दो तरह से हो सकती है, और उन दोनों में से कोई एक, अथवा दोनों ही कार्यकारी हो सकती हैं। वह “दूध,” अर्थात परमेश्वर का वचन, या तो मात्रा में कम हो सकता है, अथवा गुणवत्ता में कम हो सकता है, या ये दोनों ही बातें एक साथ होना भी संभव है। मुख्यतः, यह इस बात का सूचक है कि जिन्हें वचन की सेवकाई सौंपी गई है, या तो उनके जीवन में कोई समस्या है जिसके कारण वे परमेश्वर के साथ सही और उचित संपर्क रख कर उस से वचन को प्राप्त नहीं करने पा रहे हैं; या वे प्रभु के साथ पर्याप्त समय नहीं बिता रहे हैं कि उस से उसका वचन उन्हें मिल सके; या फिर वे अपने संदेशों को परमेश्वर के वचन में मनुष्य की बातों की मिलावट के द्वारा बना रहे हैं, और ये मिलावट की बातें उनकी स्वयं की अथवा किसी अन्य मनुष्य की बातों से ली गई हो सकती हैं। यदि सेवक परमेश्वर के वचन में मनुष्य की बातों से मिलावट कर रहे हैं, तो फिर उनके द्वारा सिखाए गए, प्रचार किए गए, सुनाए गए संदेश चाहे कितने भी भक्तिपूर्ण, सुनने में अच्छे, और रोचक क्यों न हों, लेकिन उनमें इब्रानियों 4:12 को पूरा करने और लोगों में परिवर्तन लाने वाली परमेश्वर की सामर्थ्य कभी नहीं होगी; उन से कोई उन्नति अथवा बढ़ोतरी नहीं होगी।

    हम अगले लेख में भी इन आरम्भिक बातों को देखना ज़ारी रखेंगे।

Preliminary Considerations – 2

 

    Since the previous article we have begun learning a new series from God’s word, the Bible – about growth in the Church and Christian life through God’s Word. We had seen in the last article that the rapid growth and establishment of Christianity in the first century was predominantly due to God’s Word being preached and taught in its purity by the Apostles and ministers of the Lord, although the books and letters of the New Testament were still being written, the preaching and teaching was mainly in the oral form, and messengers of Satan had begun to preach and teach false doctrines and wrong teachings.

    The Bible tells us that the primary means of Church growth is God's Word. God speaks to the Believers and guides them through His Word. The Biblical pattern is that if the ministry of God's Word is proper, then Church growth will happen. Where God's Word grows, God's people also grow. If the people do not receive the proper nourishment of the Word of God, whether due to the people’s own deficiencies (1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Hebrews 5:12), or due to deficiencies in the ministers of God’s Word, then the spiritual growth and maturity of the Believers, as well as the Church will suffer. This is seen in Paul’s warning to Timothy through the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 2:14-17), where Paul writes to Timothy that not rightly dividing the Word of God is like profanity, idle babblings, that promote ungodliness, and such messages spread like cancer, ruining the hearers (also see 1 Timothy 6:20; Titus 3:9). On the other hand, using God’s Word for teaching, reproof, correction, and instructions in righteousness causes the man of God to be complete and thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). That is why Paul in his farewell address to the Ephesian Believers, emphatically reminded them that he made it a point to teach the whole counsel of God to them (Acts 20:20, 27). To preach and teach wrong doctrines and false teachings, Satan and his messengers corrupt and adulterate three basic doctrinal things – they preach about some other Jesus, they speak of things pertaining to a spirit different from the things of the Holy Spirit who has been given to every Born-Again Christian Believer, they teach a different gospel (2 Corinthians 11:3-4).

    Therefore, the increase from God (Colossians 2:19) not coming would imply there is something wrong in the Church receiving and/or serving God's Word. This growth, as for the human body, happens through the Church receiving the proper, regular, and adequate nourishment of the Word - God's Word. So, if the Church is not growing, then taking an analogy from a milk-fed child's growth, there is a deficiency in the milk, i.e., the Word of God in that Church. This can be in two forms, and either one, or both may be the operative reason for this deficiency. The 'Milk,' i.e., God’s Word is either deficient in quantity, or it is deficient in quality, or in both. Primarily it indicates that those entrusted with the Word ministry either have some problem in their own lives, therefore are not able to connect with God and receive His Word from Him; or, they are not spending adequate time with the Lord to receive the Word from Him; or they are making up their messages by adulterating God’s Word with man's word - either their own, or borrowed from someone else. If the ministers are adulterating God’s Word with man’s words, then although what they say, preach, and teach may sound pious, nice, and interesting, but it will never have the power of God to fulfil Hebrews 4:12 and transform others.

    We will continue to look at some more preliminary considerations in the next article as well.

I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    आशीषित और सफल जीवन जीने पर पिछली श्रृंखला के लेखों में, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर की कलीसिया और उसके अन्य सन्तानों के साथ सहभागिता के भण्डारी होने से संबंधित बातों पर विचार करते हुए, हमने उन बातों के बारे में सीखा था जो कलीसिया की तथा मसीही विश्वासियों की बढ़ोतरी में बाधा डालती हैं। उन में से एक मुख्य बात, जिस पर हमने संक्षेप में विचार किया था वह थी कलीसिया एवं विश्वासियों के मध्य परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई की भूमिका।

    हम कलीसिया के इतिहास से जानते हैं कि प्रथम शताब्दी में कलीसिया का सबसे अधिक तेजी से और सारे सँसार में प्रसार हुआ और उन्नति भी हुई। और यह तब, जब उनके पास लिखित रूप में परमेश्वर का वचन, विशेषकर नया नियम – जो उस समय लिखा जा रहा था, था ही नहीं। शिक्षाएँ मुख्यतः प्रेरितों के द्वारा मौखिक दी जाती थीं, या कुछ पत्रियों के द्वारा, जो किसी व्यक्ति अथवा कलीसिया को लिखी जाती थीं और आस-पास की कलीसियाओं में घुमा कर वहाँ भी पढ़ी-सुनाई जाती थीं। किन्तु प्रेरितों के द्वारा प्रचार किए जा रहे इस परमेश्वर के वचन में एक बात थी – वह परिशुद्ध था, उसमें मनुष्यों की समझ और विचारों की कोई मिलावट नहीं की जाती थी; अर्थात, जैसा उन्हें प्रभु या पवित्र आत्मा से मिला था (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:23; 15:3; गलतियों 1:11-12; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 4:2; 1 यूहन्ना 1:5), उसे वैसा ही, बिना उसमें उनकी अपनी बुद्धि के विचार और बातों को मिलाए (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:1-2, 5), बाँट दिया जाता था, और इसीलिए वह इतना प्रभावी था। यदि वही वचन जिसने उस समय कलीसिया की इतनी बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति की थी, उसी तरह से, जैसा परमेश्वर ने दिया है उसे शुद्धता में, आज दिया जाए, तो निश्चय ही उसका वही प्रभाव होगा जो उस समय हुआ था।

    यह तर्क कोई मन-गढ़न्त बात नहीं है। हम परमेश्वर के वचन से देखते हैं कि यह परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रचार के द्वारा ही था कि कलीसियाएं दृढ़ हुईं और बढ़ीं (प्रेरितों 4:4; 6:7; 16:4-5; 12:24; 19:20)। कलीसियाओं की बढ़ोतरी के इस आरंभिक चरण में, वचन के मुख्य शिक्षक और प्रचारक प्रेरित तथा प्रभु यीशु के अन्य शिष्य थे। वे प्रभु के प्रति पूर्णतः और खराई से समर्पित थे और अपनी सेवकाई पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन में करते थे। वह वचन जो पवित्र आत्मा से उन प्रेरितों तथा अगुवों में होकर आता था, उसके द्वारा यह बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति होती थी (प्रेरितों 16:4-5)। उस समय शैतान यूँ ही निष्क्रिय होकर बैठा हुआ नहीं था, तब भी ऐसे लोग थे जो अपने ही विचारों, व्याख्याओं, और धारणाओं को परमेश्वर का वचन कहकर प्रचार करते थे (मत्ती 15:8-9; 2 कुरिन्थियों 2:17; 11:13-15), किन्तु उस से कभी भी कलीसिया या विश्वासियों की बढ़ोतरी अथवा उन्नति में कोई योगदान नहीं मिला, और बाइबल में उसकी भर्त्सना की गई है।

    अगले लेख में हम कुछ अन्य आरंभिक बातों को देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Preliminary Considerations – 1

 

    In the previous series on leading a Blessed and Successful Life, while considering the Christian Believers being stewards of God’s Church and of Fellowship with other children of God, we had learnt about the factors affecting the growth of the Church and of the Christian Believers. One of the main factors that we had briefly considered was the role of God’s Word in this growth of the Church and the Christian Believers.

    We know from Church history that in the first century, the Church grew very rapidly all over the world; although they did not have the written Word of God, particularly the New Testament – which was still being written. Primarily, the teachings were done by the Apostles orally, and through some letters written to individuals or some of the Churches, and circulated around to be read and heard there. But there was one thing about this Word of God being preached and taught by the Apostles – it was pure and unadulterated by human thoughts and wisdom; i.e., as they had received I from the Lord or from the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 11:23; 15:3; Galatians 1:11-12; 1 Thessalonians 4:2; 1 John 1:5), and was delivered unadulterated by their own thoughts and wisdom (2 Corinthians 4:1-2, 5), and therefore it was so effective. If the same Word that caused the Church to grow and improve at that time, is ministered in the same manner, in its purity as given by God, as it was done at that time, it surely will have the same effect as it had in the first Church.

    This is argument not mere conjecture. We see from God's Word that it was through the preaching of the Word of God, that the Churches were strengthened and grew (Acts 4:4; 6:7; 16:4-5; 12:24; 19:20). In this initial phase of Church growth, the main teachers and preachers of the Word were the Apostles and other disciples of Christ. They were sincerely committed to be obedient to the Lord and carrying on their ministry under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It was this Word that came through the Apostles and Elders under the guidance of the Holy Spirit that caused this growth (Acts 16:4-5). Even at that time, Satan was not sitting by idly; there were people who preached their own thoughts, interpretations, and ideas as God's Word (Matthew 15:8-9; 2 Corinthians 2:17; 11:13-15), but it never contributed in any way to the spiritual growth and development of the Believers or of the Churches, and has been denounced in the Bible.

    In the next article we will look at some more preliminary considerations.

हमेशा ईमानदार और प्रभु के प्रति समर्पित

    पिछले लेख में हमने आशीषित और सफल जीवन जीने के लिए सुलैमान को दाऊद द्वारा दिए गए तीसरे निर्देश पर विचार करके, जो आज हमारे लिए भी उसे तरह से लागू है, उस निर्देश का समापन किया था। हमने देखा था कि धार्मिक अगुवे हमें जो कुछ भी करने के लिए कहते या सिखाते हैं, केवल बिना विचारे उसका पालन कर लेना भर ही पर्याप्त नहीं है, क्योंकि कई बार वे कलीसिया या मण्डली की बढ़ोतरी और विश्वासियों की आत्मिक उन्नति के लिए आवश्यक परमेश्वर के खरे और वास्तविक वचन के स्थान पर, मनुष्यों के द्वारा बनाए गए सिद्धांतों, बातों, रीतियों को बता और सिखा रहे हो सकते हैं। इस बात पर भण्डारी होने से संबंधित कई लेखों में बहुत बार बल दिया गया है, इसे समझाया गया है, विशेषकर परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्डारी होने से संबंधित लेखों में। उन लेखों में प्रेरितों 17:11 और 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21 को भी कई बार बताया गया है, यह दिखाने के लिए कि यह परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षा है कि बिना पहले परमेश्वर के वचन से उस बात की पुष्टि करे, किसी भी शिक्षा को ग्रहण नहीं करें; चाहे उसका प्रचार करने और शिक्षा देने वाला कोई भी क्यों न हो, और उसका नाम, ख्याति, और ओहदा कुछ भी क्यों न हो, क्योंकि प्रत्येक प्रचारक अन्ततः मनुष्य ही है, और शैतान के द्वारा बहकाया और भरमाया जा सकता है। साथ ही 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29 कलीसिया या मण्डली के लोगों को यह निर्देश भी देता है कि परमेश्वर के वचन से प्रचार करने और सीखने वाले प्रत्येक जन और उसके संदेश को जाँचें और परखें; यह उनका दायित्व है। यदि कलीसियाएँ और मण्डलियाँ इन निर्देशों का पालन करने लगें, तो वे अनेकों गलत शिक्षाओं और झूठे सिद्धांतों से बची रह सकती हैं, और शैतान को कलीसिया में अपने झूठ और धोखे घुसना बहुत कठिन हो जाएगा।

    आज हम 1 राजाओं 2:2-4 में सुलैमान को दिए गए दाऊद के चौथे निर्देश पर विचार करेंगे; यह चौथा निर्देश है, “सावधान रह, और हमेशा प्रभु के प्रति समर्पित बना रहे (1 राजाओं 2:4b)।” एक बार फिर, क्योंकि हम भण्डारीपन के संदर्भ में बातों का विस्तृत अध्ययन कर चुके हैं, इसलिए हमें फिर से विस्तार से उन्हीं बातों में जाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है, वरन इस अंतिम लेख में केवल उन बातों के सहारे से बात को रख सकते हैं।

    इस चौथे निर्देश का आधार परमेश्वर का सर्वज्ञानी होने का गुण है। ऐसा कुछ नहीं है, बिल्कुल कुछ भी नहीं, जिसके बारे में परमेश्वर पहले से ही जानता न हो; और हम मनुष्यों की कल्पनाओं से कहीं बढ़कर न जानता हो। इससे पहले भी, मंदिर बनाने की ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपते समय, दाऊद ने सुलैमान को निर्देश दिया था, “और हे मेरे पुत्र सुलैमान! तू अपने पिता के परमेश्वर का ज्ञान रख, और खरे मन और प्रसन्न जीव से उसकी सेवा करता रह; क्योंकि यहोवा मन को जांचता और विचार में जो कुछ उत्पन्न होता है उसे समझता है। यदि तू उसकी खोज में रहे, तो वह तुझ को मिलेगा; परन्तु यदि तू उसको त्याग दे तो वह सदा के लिये तुझ को छोड़ देगा” (1 इतिहास 28:9)। दूसरे शब्दों में, यद्यपि परमेश्वर सब कुछ के बारे में सब कुछ जानता है, यहाँ तक कि विचारों के उद्देश्यों को भी समझता है, फिर भी वह मनों को जाँचता है। प्रभु परमेश्वर यह इसलिए करता है जिससे मनुष्यों को परमेश्वर के प्रति खराई से रहने के लिए प्रेरित करे। ऐसा कोई तरीका है ही नहीं कि कोई भी मनुष्य परमेश्वर को धोखा दे सके या किसी रीति से चतुराई दिखाकर उसका मूर्ख बना सके। इसलिए यदि सभी जन, विशेषकर परमेश्वर के लोग, हमेशा ही इस एहसास के साथ, कि परमेश्वर हमेशा सब कुछ जानता है, उससे कुछ छुपा नहीं है, जीवन जीएँ, और कार्य करें, और परमेश्वर की सेवकाई करें, तो उनके लिए जीवन कितना अधिक आशीषित और सफल हो जाएगा।

    परमेश्वर के वचन में ऐसे लोगों के कुछ उदाहरण विद्यमान हैं जिन्होंने परमेश्वर का मूर्ख बनाने का प्रयास किया और उन्हें इसके बहुत गंभीर परिणाम झेलने पड़े; और उनके भी उदाहरण हैं जिन्होंने निःसंकोच अपने पाप और गलतियों को मान लिया, उनके लिए पश्चाताप किया, और आशीषित एवं महिमित हुए। ऐसे कुछ उदाहरणों को दोनों नए और पुराने नियम से देखते हैं:

·        जैसा कि हम 1 शमूएल 15 अध्याय से पहले देख चुके हैं, इस्राएल के पहले राजा शाऊल ने परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता की, मनुष्यों के डर में आकर अमालेकियों के अच्छे पशुओं को बचाए रखा, बजाए परमेश्वर की आज्ञानुसार उन्हें मार डालने के। जब शमूएल ने इस अनाज्ञाकारिता के लिए उसका सामना किया, तो उसने बच निकलने के लिए बहाना बनाया कि वे पशु परमेश्वर को बलिदान चढ़ाने के लिए बचाए गए थे – अपनी अनाज्ञाकारिता के ऊपर एक झूठ और लाद लिया; और परमेश्वर ने उसके राजा होने का तिरस्कार कर दिया, उसे राज्य से हाथ धोना पड़ा।

·        यद्यपि दाऊद ने व्यभिचार और हत्या के घोर पाप  किए थे, लेकिन जन नातान नबी ने परमेश्वर के निर्देश पर इनके लिए उसका सामना किया, तो दाऊद ने निःसंकोच अपने पापों को मान लिया, उनके लिए पश्चाताप किया (2 शमूएल 12:13-14)। यद्यपि दाऊद को ताड़ना सहनी पड़ी, लेकिन वह आशीषित भी हुआ; और नए नियम में भी उसे परमेश्वर के मन के अनुसार व्यक्ति ही कहा गया है (प्रेरितों 13:22)।

·        पतरस ने, अपने सभी जोर देकर किए गए दावों के बावजूद, प्रभु का तीन बार इनकार किया; किन्तु फिर पश्चाताप भी किया (मत्ती 26:69-75)। अपने पुनरुत्थान के बाद, प्रभु ने पतरस को उसकी सेवकाई में बहाल कर दिया और उसे अपने अनुयायियों की देखभाल की ज़िम्मेदारी भी सौंपी (यूहन्ना 21:15-19)।

·      हन्नायाह और सफ़ीरा ने, अपने द्वारा किए गए वायदे के संबंध में, लालच में आकर झूठ बोला और विश्वासियों का, प्रेरितों का, और परमेश्वर का भी मूर्ख बनाने का प्रयास किया। उन्हें अवसर प्रदान किया गया कि वे अपने पाप को मान लें, लेकिन उन्होंने नहीं माना, बल्कि अपने झूठ में बने ही रहे, झूठ बोलते ही रहे; और इसकी कीमत अपने प्राणों से चुकानी पड़ी (प्रेरितों 5:1-11)।

 

    परमेश्वर की सेवकाई और सहभागिता में धोखा देने और बच निकालने का कतई कोई स्थान, कोई संभावना नहीं है; वरन, जैसा कि नीतिवचन 28:13 में लिखा है, जो अपने पापों को धोखा देने के द्वारा छुपाने का प्रयास करते हैं, वे अपनी उस से और भी अधिक हानि कर बैठते हैं जो पाप मान लेने से उनकी होती। इसीलिए दाऊद ने सुलैमान को यह निर्देश दिया, जो आज हमारे लिए भी है कि - अपने सम्पूर्ण हृदय और सम्पूर्ण प्राण से सच्चाई के साथ नित परमेश्वर के सम्मुख चलते रहें (1 राजाओं 2:4b)। ईमानदारी हमेशा ही सबसे अधिक उत्तम विकल्प रही है और हमेशा सबसे अधिक उत्तम विकल्प बनी रहेगी। यदि हम से पाप हो भी जाए, तो भी हमारे पास एक आश्वासन है, कि यदि हम अपने पापों को मान लें तो हम बहाल कर दिए जाएँगे (1 यूहन्ना 1:9)। किन्तु जो अपने पापों को छुपाने और परमेश्वर को धोखा देने का प्रयास करते हैं, उन्हें नीतिवचन 28:13 पर गंभीरता से विचार करना चाहिए।

    यह खण्ड, 1 राजाओं 2:2-4, इन निर्देशों का पालन करने से होने वाले लाभ के बारे में भी बताता है: सब बातों में सुख-समृद्धि (1 राजाओं 2:3c), और भावी पीढ़ियों तक परमेश्वर की आशीषों का बना रहना (1 राजाओं 2:4c)। इसीलिए, इस व्याख्यात्मक श्रृंखला का शीर्षक “आशीषित एवं सफल जीवन” रखा गया है, क्योंकि इन निर्देशों को समझने और पालन करने का यही परिणाम है।

    हम इस श्रृंखला का समापन परमेश्वर के वचन के एक खण्ड के साथ करते हैं, जो सभी पाठकों के सामने विचार करने और निर्णय लेने के लिए बात को रखता है। यह खण्ड है: “मैं आज आकाश और पृथ्वी दोनों को तुम्हारे सामने इस बात की साक्षी बनाता हूं, कि मैं ने जीवन और मरण, आशीष और शाप को तुम्हारे आगे रखा है; इसलिये तू जीवन ही को अपना ले, कि तू और तेरा वंश दोनों जीवित रहें; इसलिये अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से प्रेम करो, और उसकी बात मानों, और उस से लिपटे रहो; क्योंकि तेरा जीवन और दीर्घ जीवन यही है, और ऐसा करने से जिस देश को यहोवा ने इब्राहीम, इसहाक, और याकूब, तेरे पूर्वजों को देने की शपथ खाई थी उस देश में तू बसा रहेगा” (व्यवस्थाविवरण 30:19-20)।

Always Sincere & Committed to the Lord

 

    In the last article we concluded David’s third instruction to Solomon for leading a blessed and successful life, which equally applies to us today. We saw that it is not enough to ‘obey’ and do according to whatever the religious leaders tell us to do, since very often they could be preaching and teaching man-made doctrines, practices, and rituals, instead of the actual Word of God, which they are supposed to be preaching and teaching to the Church or Assembly congregation for the growth of the Church and the edification of the Christian Believers. This aspect has been emphasized and explained many times in the various articles on stewardship; especially while considering the stewardship of God’s Word. In those articles Acts 17:11 and 1 Thessalonians 5:21 have been quoted repeatedly to emphasize that it is the teaching of God’s Word to not accept anything without first verifying it from God’s Word, no matter who is preaching or teaching, and whatever be the name, fame, and standing of the preacher, since every preacher is human and is prone to being beguiled and misled by Satan. Also 1 Corinthians 14:29 instructs the congregation to evaluate whatever anybody is preaching or teaching from God’s Word; it is their responsibility. If the Churches and congregations adhere to these instructions, the Church would be saved from so many false doctrines and wrong teachings, and Satan would have a hard time infiltrating the Church with his lies and deceptions.

    Today we will consider the fourth of David’s instructions to Solomon as given in 1 Kings 2:2-4; this fourth instruction is, “To be careful, taking heed, to remain sincere and committed to the Lord always (1 Kings 2:4b).” Again, because of the detailed studies we have already done in the articles on stewardship, we need not go into the same details again, but only need to build up on that in this concluding article.

    The basis of this fourth instruction is God’s characteristic of being omniscient. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that God does not already know about; and knows about in far greater detail than we humans could ever imagine. David had instructed Solomon earlier, while handing over the charge to build the Temple to him, “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever” (1 Chronicles 28:9). In other words, although the Lord God knows everything about everything, even the intents of man’s thoughts, yet He searches the hearts. The Lord God does this to induce man to live in sincerity towards God. There is no way any man can ever outwit God or cleverly pull wool over His eyes. So, if everyone, especially God’s people always live, and work, and serve God with this realization that God always knows everything and nothing is ever hidden from Him, then life would be so much more blessed and successful for them.

    God’s Word has various examples of people who tried to fool God and suffered very serious consequences, and of those who unhesitatingly accepted their sins and errors, repented of them, and came out blessed and glorified. Let us look at a few examples from both, the Old and the New Testaments:

·        Israel’s first king, King Saul, as we have seen from 1 Samuel chapter 15, disobeyed God, and fearing men, saved the good animals of the Amalekites instead of killing them all, as God had instructed. When Samuel confronted him about the disobedience, he tried to wriggle out of the situation by making the excuse that the good animals were left alive to sacrifice to the Lord – a lie compounding his disobedience; and God rejected him from being king, he lost the kingdom.

·        David, though he had committed the heinous sin of adultery and murder, but when was confronted for it by the prophet Nathan, under instructions from God, immediately and unhesitatingly accepted his sin and repented of it (2 Samuel 12:13-14). Though David was chastised, but he was also blessed; and even in the New Testament, he is still called a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22).

·        Peter, despite his emphatic claims to the contrary, denied the Lord three times; but repented also (Matthew 26:69-75). After His resurrection, the Lord restored Peter to his ministry, giving him charge of looking after His followers (John 21:15-19).

·        Ananias and Saphira, out of covetousness about the commitment they had made, lied and tried to fool the Believers, the Apostles, and God. They were given an opportunity to confess their sin but they did not confess, instead they lied and stuck to their falsehood; and had to pay for it with their lives (Acts 5:1-11).

 

    In God’s service and fellowship, there is no room or possibility of getting away through deception; rather as it says in Proverbs 28:13, those who try to hide their sins by deceiving, end up suffering even worse than what they would have suffered by confessing and acknowledging their sins. Therefore, David’s instruction to Solomon, and even to us today - walk before God in truth with all your heart and with all your soul (1 Kings 2:4b). Honesty is, and always will be the best policy, and even if we sin, we have the assurance that if we confess our sins, we will be restored (1 John 1:9). But those who try to hide their sins and deceive God, need to ponder over Proverbs 28:13.

    This passage, 1 Kings 2:2-4, also speaks of the benefits of following these instructions: Prosperity in all things (1 Kings 2:3c), and God’s blessings extending to posterity (1 Kings 2:4c). This is why this expository series on this passage has been titled “Blessed and Successful Life” since that is the net result of understanding and following these instructions.

    We conclude this series with a passage from God’s Word, one that calls all readers to ponder over and come to a conclusion. The passage is: “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20).

    We will begin on something different from the next article.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    पिछले लेख से हमने दाऊद द्वारा सुलैमान को, और आज सभी मसीहियों पर समान रीति से लागू, दिए गए तीसरे निर्देश – “जितनी बातें परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हैं, वह उनका आज्ञाकारी बना रहे (1 राजाओं 2:3b)” पर विचार करना आरंभ किया है। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा है कि परमेश्वर के वचन की अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण ही पाप को सँसार तथा सृष्टि में प्रवेश करने का अवसर मिला, और परमेश्वर के वचन की अनाज्ञाकारिता हमेशा ही लोगों तथा परमेश्वर की सन्तानों के लिए गंभीर समस्याएं उत्पन्न करती रही है, उन पर परमेश्वर के दण्ड, क्रोध, और घोर ताड़ना को लाती रही है। परमेश्वर अपने अनाज्ञाकारी लोगों को, जो उसे छोड़ कर सँसार और उसके सुखों के पीछे हो लेते हैं, न तो कभी छोड़ देता है और न ही उनका तिरस्कार करता है; उसने इस्राएल को नहीं छोड़ा, इस्राएल ने जो प्रभु यीशु और उसके अनुयायियों के साथ किया, उसके बावजूद भी; परंतु न तो उसने उनकी अनाज्ञाकारिता को हल्के में लिया और न ही उसकी अनदेखी की। जो भी परमेश्वर के अनाज्ञाकारिता करता है, उसे इसका परिणाम भोगना होगा और कीमत चुकानी होगी; और यह उनकी अनन्तकाल की आशीषों और प्रतिफलों को भी नष्ट करता है – ऐसे बहुतेरे मसीही विश्वासी होंगे जो स्वर्ग में छूछे हाथ प्रवेश करेंगे (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15), और अनन्तकाल तक खाली हाथ ही रहेंगे; क्योंकि उन्होंने अपने मसीही जीवन वैसे व्यतीत नहीं किए जो परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करे, उन पर उसकी आशीष लाए, और उन्हें अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफलों को प्रदान करे।

    एक अन्य बात जिसे हमें समझना अनिवार्य है, वह है कि परमेश्वर के वचन की आज्ञाकारिता का अर्थ होता है जो और जैसा परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में लिखवाया है, उसी का पालन करना, उसी के अनुसार करना। इसका यह अर्थ कदापि नहीं है, और न ही किसी मनुष्य को अनुमति है, कि वह परमेश्वर के वचन में कोई परिवर्तन, कोई जोड़-तोड़ करे, और फिर उसे बदले हुए वचन को परमेश्वर के लोगों के समक्ष परमेश्वर का खरा वचन कह कर प्रस्तुत करे। प्रभु यीशु के सम्पूर्ण ‘पहाड़ी उपदेश’ में, अर्थात मत्ती रचित सुसमाचार के 5-7 अध्यायों में, हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु कई दफा, ‘तुमने सुना है,’ या, ‘तुम से कहा गया है,’ या इसी अभिप्राय का कोई वाक्यांश कहते हैं; और फिर, यह कहते हुए कि ‘लेकिन मैं तुम से कहता हूँ,’ वो उसका सुधारा हुआ स्वरूप बताते हैं; अर्थात जीवित वचन जिसने देहधारी होकर हमारे मध्य में डेरा किया (यूहन्ना 1:14), उन्हें सिखा रहा था कि वास्तविक निर्देश क्या था, बजाय उसके जो भ्रष्ट कर के उन्हें सिखाया गया और जिसका पालन करवाया जा रहा था। उस समय के धार्मिक अगुवों ने परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत व्याख्या करके उसका दुरुपयोग इस उद्देश्य से किया था कि वह उनके लिए सहज एवं लाभकारी हो। वे जन-सामान्य को इस भ्रष्ट किए हुए को परमेश्वर का वचन कहकर बताते और सीखते थे, और उसी का पालन करने के लिए कहते थे। मत्ती 15:1-9 में हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु शास्त्रियों और फरीसियों को फटकार लगाते हैं, उनके द्वारा अपनी ही रीतियाँ बनाकर और मनुष्यों की बनाई हुए आज्ञाओं को परमेश्वर का वचन कह कर सिखाने के लिए। उस समय लोग सामान्यतः अनपढ़ होते थे, और परमेश्वर के वचन की प्रतियां भी पढ़ने और सीखने के लिए सरलता से उपलब्ध नहीं थीं; इसीलिए लोग मजबूर थे कि धार्मिक अगुवों के द्वारा उन्हें जो भी बताया और सिखाया जाए, उसी को स्वीकार कर लें, और उसे का पालन करें।

    आज भी लगभग यही स्थिति विद्यमान है, यद्यपि परमेश्वर का वचन अनेकों भाषाओं और विभिन्न स्वरूपों – लिखित और डिजिटल रूप में; साथ ही बाइबल के अध्ययन की सामग्री भी बहुतायत से और सरलता से उपलब्ध है। और प्रभु परमेश्वर ने अपना वचन सिखाने के लिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को अपना पवित्र आत्मा भी प्रदान कर रखा है – जैसे हम वचन के भण्डारी होने से संबंधित लेखों में विस्तार से देख चुके हैं। किन्तु फिर भी अधिकाँश “मसीही” अपने धार्मिक अगुवों पर ही भरोसा करते हैं, उन्हीं की कही हुई को सुनते और मानते हैं, उनकी डिनॉमिनेशन या मत के अगुवे जो कहते और करवाते हैं उसी का पालन करते हैं। यह तथ्य कि विभिन्न डिनॉमिनेशनों और मतों के सिद्धांतों और रीतियों में परस्पर बहुत अन्तर पाए जाते हैं इस बात का प्रमाण है कि मनुष्यों के बनाए हुए ये नियम और रिवाज़, ये सिद्धान्त और रीतियाँ, परमेश्वर का वास्तविक वचन नहीं हैं। जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु की पृथ्वी के सेवकाई के दिनों में फरीसी, शास्त्री, और अन्य धार्मिक अगुवे कर रहे थे, आज ये डिनॉमिनेशनों और मतों के धार्मिक अगुवे भी परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग कर रहे हैं, उसे अपने लिए सहज और लाभकारी बनाकर उस बदले हुए तथा भ्रष्ट किए हुए वचन को परमेश्वर का सच्चा और खरा वचन बताकर सिखा रहे हैं, जो कि वह कदापि नहीं है। इसीलिए, प्रभु यीशु ने जो उस समय फरीसियों से कहा था, वही आज भी वैसे ही इन लोगों पर भी लागू होता है – “और ये व्यर्थ मेरी उपासना करते हैं, क्योंकि मनुष्यों की विधियों को धर्मोपदेश कर के सिखाते हैं” (मत्ती 15:9)। अर्थात, इन भ्रष्ट धारणाओं और रीतियों के अनुसार की जाने वाली समस्त आराधना और भक्ति “व्यर्थ आराधना” है, निष्फल और निरर्थक है। जो लोग यह करवाते और करते हैं उन्हें इससे कोई स्वर्गीय आशीष, कोई अनन्तकालीन लाभ नहीं मिलता है, वे चाहे कितनी ही ईमानदारी और श्रद्धा से इसका निर्वाह क्यों न करें।

    मसीहियों के लिए परमेश्वर के निर्देश “निर्मल आत्मिक दूध” (1 पतरस 2:2) की लालसा रखने के हैं, न परमेश्वर के वचन के नाम पर बदला हुआ, भ्रष्ट किया हुआ, जो कुछ भी सिखाया और करवाया जाए उसी में बने रहने के। जैसा हमने मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर के वचन का भण्डारी होने से संबंधित लेखों में देखा है, कलीसियाओं की बढ़ोतरी और विश्वासियों की आत्मिक उन्नति के लिए आवश्यक बातों में परमेश्वर का परिशुद्ध, बिना भ्रष्ट किया गया वचन देना, सीखना, और पालन करना, एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखते हैं। परिशुद्ध वचन से ही कलीसिया बढ़ती और विश्वासियों की आत्मिक उन्नति होती है, किसी अन्य से नहीं। परमेश्वर की आशीषें और प्रभु के साथ संगति केवल उसके खरे वचन के मानने वालों के साथ ही हैं (यूहन्ना 14:21, 23; यशायाह 40:31; 2 तीमुथियुस 3:15-17)।

Obedience to God’s Word – 2

 

    Since the last article, we have begun to consider the third instruction that David gave to Solomon, and is now applicable to all the Christians – “To be obedient to the Word of God, in all things written in it (1Ki 2:3b).” In the previous article we have seen that disobedience to God’s Word caused sin to enter into creation and the world, and disobedience to God’s Word has always caused serious problems for the people and children of God; even inviting God’s retribution, wrath, and severe chastisement upon them. God does not abandon or reject His disobedient people who leave Him and go follow the world and its pleasures; He has not rejected Israel, despite what Israel has done to the Lord Jesus and to those following Him; but neither does He condone their disobedience nor takes it lightly. Anyone who disobeys God, will have to suffer and pay a price for it; and this even eats away their eternal blessings and rewards – there will be many Christian Believers who will enter heaven empty handed (1 Corinthians 3:13-15), and remain so for eternity; because they failed to live their Christian lives in a manner that would please God, bring His blessings upon them, and cause them to receive eternal rewards.

    Another thing we need to understand is that obeying God’s Word means obeying and doing according to what God has had written in His Word. It in no way means, or, permits man’s modifications and alterations of God’s Word, and then to be presented to God’s people as the pure word of God. Throughout the Sermon on the Mount, i.e., chapters 5-7 of Matthew’s Gospel, we find the Lord Jesus repeatedly teaching and saying phrases like, ‘you have heard,’ or ‘you were told,’ or implying the same; and then He presents His corrected version by stating ‘but I say to you;’ i.e., the Living Word who became flesh and dwelt amongst us (John 1:14) was  teaching them what the actual instruction ought to be, instead of the corrupted one that they had been taught and asked to practice. The religious leaders of those times had misinterpreted and misapplied God’s Word to make it suit their convenience and be of benefit to them. They were teaching this corrupted word of God to the general public and asking them to obey it. In Matthew 15:1-9 the Lord Jesus castigates the Scribes and the Pharisees for creating their own traditions and teaching commandments of men as the word of God. At that time the people were generally illiterate and copies of God’s Word were not so easily available for reading and learning; and so, the people were constrained to learn, accept, and follow whatever the religious leaders taught them and asked them to do.

    Much the same situation exists even today, although God’s word is freely available in many languages and forms – printed and digital; and so are Bible studies and teachings readily available. The Lord God has also given His Holy Spirit to each and every Christian Believer to teach them His Word, as we have seen in detail in the articles related to being a steward of God’s Word. But still, the vast majority of the “Christians” believe in and adhere to what their religious leaders, those of their denomination or sect preach and teach them. The very fact that there are major differences in the doctrines and practices of every denomination and sect is a proof that none of these man-made rules and regulations, these doctrines and practices, are actually the Word of God. Like what the Scribes and Pharisees and the other religious leaders were doing during the earthly ministry of the Lord, today’s denominational religious leaders have also manipulated and misinterpreted God’s Word to suit their convenience, and teach that modified and corrupted Word of God, as the “truth” which it most certainly is not. Therefore, what the Lord Jesus said to the Pharisees at that time, also equally applies today – “And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9) – all worship and reverence of God based on these denominational doctrines and practices is “vain worship,” i.e., it is inconsequential; it brings no blessings or rewards to those who indulge in it, no matter how piously and sincerely they may practice it.

God’s instructions to the Christian Believers are to desire the “pure milk of the word” (1 Peter 2:2), and not to accept and remain in the corrupted, adulterated thing preached and taught as ‘word of god.’ As we have seen in the articles on the Believer’s stewardship of the Church, and the factors contributing to the growth and edification of the Church and the Christian Believers, it is the pure, unadulterated, unmodified, unaltered Word of God that causes the Believers to be edified and the Church to grow, not anything else. The blessings and fellowship of the Lord is with those who obey His Word (John 14:21, 23; Isaiah 40:31; 2 Timothy 3:15-17).

In the next article we will begin considering David’s fourth instruction to Solomon, “To be careful, taking heed, to remain sincere and committed to the Lord always (1 Kings 2:4b).”
