इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई आरम्भिक बातों में से छठी बात, “अंतिम न्याय” के हमारे इस अध्ययन में, पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि पाप का यह दूसरा प्रभाव, जब तक हम इस पापमय शरीर में हैं, हमारे लिए दुःख, परेशानी, परिश्रम को बनाए रखेगा; लेकिन इस में होकर भी परमेश्वर के हमारे लिए कुछ लाभकारी उद्देश्य हैं। ये लाभ केवल स्वर्गीय, या परलोक के लिए नहीं हैं, वरन हमारे दिन-प्रतिदिन के इस पृथ्वी के जीवनों के लिए भी हैं। कुल मिलाकर, जीवन भर के इस दुःख, परेशानी, और परिश्रम के द्वारा परमेश्वर ने एक उपाय प्रदान किया है जो हमें निरन्तर पाप, अर्थात परमेश्वर की आज्ञाओं के उल्लंघन, के परिणामों को स्मरण दिलाता रहे; लेकिन इसके साथ ही परमेश्वर ने इन दुःखों में होकर हमें पृथ्वी के तथा स्वर्गीय लाभों को भी प्रदान किया है। दुःखों के साथ आने वाले शारीरिक और भौतिक लाभों को देखने के बाद, आज हम दुःखों के कारण विश्वासियों को मिलने वाले स्वर्गीय लाभों के बारे में देखेंगे, यदि वे परमेश्वर की इच्छा में दुःख उठाएं और उनमें प्रभु के प्रति विश्वासयोग्य रहें, उस पर अपना भरोसा बनाए रखें।
प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को आश्वस्त किया था कि जो उसके पीछे हो लेंगे, उनकी स्वर्गीय जिम्मेदारियों में से एक होगी इस्राएल के बारह गोत्रों का न्याय करना “यीशु ने उन से कहा, मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि नई सृष्टि में जब मनुष्य का पुत्र अपनी महिमा के सिंहासन पर बैठेगा, तो तुम भी जो मेरे पीछे हो लिये हो, बारह सिंहासनों पर बैठकर इस्राएल के बारह गोत्रों का न्याय करोगे” (मत्ती 19:28)। प्रेरित पौलुस ने भी, पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, इसी बात को दोहराया है “क्या तुम नहीं जानते, कि पवित्र लोग जगत का न्याय करेंगे? सो जब तुम्हें जगत का न्याय करना हे, तो क्या तुम छोटे से छोटे झगड़ों का भी निर्णय करने के योग्य नहीं? क्या तुम नहीं जानते, कि हम स्वर्गदूतों का न्याय करेंगे? तो क्या सांसारिक बातों का निर्णय न करें?” (1 कुरिन्थियों 6:2-3)। बहुत सम्भव है कि इस्राएलियों, स्वर्गदूतों, सँसार के लोगों का यह न्याय किया जाना, प्रथम पुनरुत्थान के समय, प्रभु यीशु के 1000 वर्ष के राज्य के समय में किया जाएगा, जैसा कि प्रकाशितवाक्य 20:1-4 में लिखा है। हम जिस अन्तिम न्याय के बारे में सीख रहे हैं, वह प्रभु यीशु के 1000 वर्ष के इस राज्य के बाद किया जाएगा (प्रकाशितवाक्य 20:7-15)। लेकिन हमारे लिए महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि मसीही विश्वासी, परमेश्वर की सन्तान, परमेश्वर द्वारा इस्राएलियों, स्वर्गदूतों, सँसार के लोगों का न्याय करने के लिए उपयोग किए जाएँगे।
मसीही विश्वासियों के दुःख उठाने के बारे में पौलुस ने लिखा है, “इसलिये हम हियाव नहीं छोड़ते; यद्यपि हमारा बाहरी मनुष्यत्व नाश भी होता जाता है, तौभी हमारा भीतरी मनुष्यत्व दिन प्रतिदिन नया होता जाता है। क्योंकि हमारा पल भर का हल्का सा क्लेश हमारे लिये बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण और अनन्त महिमा उत्पन्न करता जाता है। और हम तो देखी हुई वस्तुओं को नहीं परन्तु अनदेखी वस्तुओं को देखते रहते हैं, क्योंकि देखी हुई वस्तुएं थोड़े ही दिन की हैं, परन्तु अनदेखी वस्तुएं सदा बनी रहती हैं” (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:16-18)। यदि हम पौलुस के जीवन पर विचार करें, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का शिष्य बनने के समय से लेकर, उसके जीवन के अन्त समय तक, वह किसी न किसी से, कोई न कोई दुःख झेलता ही रहा, अन्य मसीही विश्वासियों से भी (रोमियों 8:36; 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:30-32; 2 कुरिन्थियों 1:9-10; 4:11; 6:4-10; 11:23-33)। लेकिन फिर भी पौलुस जीवन भर प्रभु के काम के लिए दुःख सहते रहने को “पल भर का हल्का सा क्लेश” कहता है। वह यह कैसे कहने पाया; उसका राज़ क्या था? पौलुस इन सभी दुःखों और समस्याओं के साथ निर्वाह, अपने स्वर्गीय दृष्टिकोण के कारण करने पाया, जैसा कि वह स्वयं ही उपरोक्त पदों में कहता है “हम तो देखी हुई वस्तुओं को नहीं परन्तु अनदेखी वस्तुओं को देखते रहते हैं।” दूसरे शब्दों में, पौलुस को कभी इस बात के लिए कोई सन्देह ही नहीं था कि आने वाले जीवन में उसके लिए क्या तैयार करके रखा हुआ है, चाहे इस पृथ्वी पर उसके साथ कुछ भी होता रहे। उसके लिए स्वर्ग में निरन्तर जमा होते जा रहे प्रतिफल, उसके लिए स्वर्ग में जो इनाम रखा हुआ है, वही प्रभु के लिए उसके अथक परिश्रम करते रहने, और उसके कारण जो भी होता रहे, उसे सहते रहने के लिए, तथा वही उसे प्रोत्साहित करते रहने वाली बात थी (फिलिप्पियों 3:12-14)। अपने जीवन के अन्त समय में आकर पौलुस सन्तुष्ट था, शान्ति से था, कि उसे जो ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी गई थी, उसने विश्वासयोग्यता से उसका निर्वाह किया था। उसे मृत्यु से कोई डर नहीं था, वरन वह मृत्यु के बाद उसे स्वर्ग में मिलने वाले प्रतिफलों की बाट जोह रहा था (2 तीमुथियुस 4:6-8) – उन सदा बनी रहने वाली अनदेखी वस्तुओं की, जिनका उल्लेख वह उपरोक्त पदों में करता है “अनदेखी वस्तुएं सदा बनी रहती हैं;” और आने वाले युग में जिनके मिलने के बारे में प्रभु यीशु ने भी मरकुस 10:30 और लूका 18:30 में कहा है।
जैसा हम पहले कह चुके हैं, और इस अध्ययन में देख चुके हैं, दुःख उठाना केवल पाप का दण्ड भोगना मात्र नहीं है, न ही वे केवल हमें परमेश्वर की आज्ञाओं के उल्लंघन करने, अर्थात, पाप करने के परिणामों को याद दिलाते रहने के लिए है; लेकिन साथ ही, दुःख उठाना परमेश्वर द्वारा मसीही विश्वासियों को लाभ – पार्थिव एवं स्वर्गीय, पहुँचाने के लिए प्रदान किया गया उपाय भी है। हम दुःख उठाने के साथ निर्वाह कर सकते हैं, यदि हम उनके प्रति पौलुस के समान रवैया बनाए रखें, परमेश्वर की इच्छा में, और उसके कार्य के लिए दुःख सहने के लिए तैयार बने रहें। इन कारणों के कारण ही दुःख उठाना, मसीही विश्वासियों का जीवन भर का साथी है और रहेगा। यह उद्धार पाने पर भी नहीं जाता है; अन्यथा परमेश्वर की सन्तानों के लिए अपने अनन्तकालीन स्वर्गीय जीवन के लिए बहुत सारे लाभ कमाने का अवसर जाता रहेगा, क्योंकि मेहनताना तो मेहनत करने के लिए ही दिया जा सकता है, यूँ ही लुटाया नहीं जा सकता है। अगले लेख में हम उस महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न पर आएँगे, जिस की ओर हम इस अध्ययन को बढ़ाते चले आ रहे हैं – यदि अन्ततः अन्तिम न्याय के लिए उन्हें बाहर लाना ही है, तो फिर पापों कि क्षमा कर देने के बाद परमेश्वर उन्हें भुला क्यों देता है? और इसका प्रकट एवं सीधा सा उत्तर, हो सकता है कि आप को भी वैसे ही चौंका दे, जैसे उस उत्तर से हम चौंक गए हैं।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

God’s Forgiveness and Justice – 17
Remembrance of Sin Forgiven and Forgotten - 9
In this study on “Eternal Judgement,” the sixth elementary principle given in Hebrews 6:1-2, in the previous articles we have seen that the second effect of sin, i.e., life long suffering and toil while we are in this physical body with a sin nature, has some God given and beneficial purposes in our lives. These benefits are not just heavenly, i.e., only for the next world, but are also for this world as we live our day-to-day lives. In effect, through the life-long sufferings, problems, and toil, God has put in place a mechanism for us to live with a constant reminder of the consequences of sin, i.e., of transgressing God’s law; but at the same time God has also put in place earthly as well as heavenly benefits through the sufferings. Having seen the physical and temporal benefits that come with suffering, today we will look at the heavenly benefits that come to the Believers because of suffering in God’s will and remaining trusting and faithful towards Him through them.
The Lord Jesus has assured His disciples, those who follow Him, amongst their heavenly responsibilities, one will be judging the twelve tribes of Israel, “So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel” (Matthew 19:28). The Apostle Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit has also written the same, “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?” (1 Corinthians 6:2-3). Quite likely, this judging of Israel, angels, and people of the world will be happening at the time of the first resurrection, in the 1000-year reign of the Lord Jesus Christ, as is mentioned in Revelation 20:1-4. The final or eternal judgment that we are studying will happen after this 1000-year reign of Christ (Revelation 20:7-15). But for us the important thing is that the Christian Believers, the children of God, will be used by the Lord for judging Israel, angels, and the people of the world.
About the sufferings of the Christian Believers, Paul wrote, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). If we consider the life of Paul, after his becoming a follower of the Lord Jesus, till the end of his life, he kept on suffering something or the other, from someone or the other, even from other Christian Believers (Romans 8:36; 1 Corinthians 15:30-32; 2 Corinthians 1:9-10; 4:11; 6:4-10; 11:23-33). Yet, Paul calls his life-long suffering for the work of the Lord “light affliction, which is but for a moment.” What was the secret; how could he do it? Paul could put up with all these sufferings and problems because of his heavenly outlook, as he himself says in the verse quoted above “we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.” In other words, Paul was never in any doubt about what awaits him in the life to come, despite whatever might be happening to him while on earth. The rewards continually gathering up for him in heaven, the heavenly end-result awaiting him, was his motive for striving for the Lord and suffering anything that comes while on earth (Philippians 3:12-14). At the end of his life Paul was content that he had faithfully done what had been entrusted to him. He was not afraid of death, but looked forward to receiving his rewards that awaited him in heaven (2 Timothy 4:6-8) – the eternal things mentioned in the verse quoted above “the things which are not seen are eternal.” The same as was stated by the Lord Jesus for the age to come, in Mark 10:30 and Luke 18:30.
As we have said before, and seen through this study, sufferings are not just for retribution for sin, not only for constantly reminding us of the consequences of transgressing God’s commands, i.e., committing sin; but they also are a God given mechanism for giving the Christian Believers benefits – earthly as well as heavenly. We can put up with sufferings, if we are willing to suffer in the will of God, for the work of God, and maintain an attitude like Paul maintained towards them. Because of these reasons, sufferings are and will remain a life-long companion of Believers. They do not go away with salvation; else the children of God would be deprived of earning so many benefits in their life time, for their eternal heavenly life, since wages can only be given for the work done, and not casually thrown around for no valid reason. In the next article we will come to the crucial question, towards which we have been building our study – if they eventually have to be brought out for the eternal judgment, then why does God forget sins after forgiving them? And, the evident simplicity, might well surprise you, just as it has surprised us.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
