मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 4 - प्रार्थना (36)
व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से संबंधित बातों के वर्तमान अध्ययन में हम प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई चार बातों के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं। यहाँ पर दी गई पहली तीन बातों को देखने के बाद, अब हम चौथी बात, प्रार्थना करने, के बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में दिए गए उदाहरणों और सम्बन्धित पदों से देख और सीख रहे हैं। सीधे बाइबल से देखने और सीखने से हम देख पा रहे हैं कि आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासियों और कलीसियाओं में इनका पालन किया जाने वाला मूल स्वरूप और तरीका क्या था। पिछले कुछ लेखों में प्रार्थना से सम्बन्धित आधारभूत बातों की वास्तविकता, मसीहियों में व्याप्त कुछ प्रार्थना और उसके उत्तर पाने से सम्बन्धित भ्रांतियों आदि को देखने के बाद हम तथा-कथित “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” के बारे में मत्ती 6:5-15 से देख और सीख रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि वास्तव में यह प्रभु यीशु द्वारा अपने शिष्यों को दी गई एक रूपरेखा, एक ढाँचा है, जिसके अनुसार उन्हें अपनी व्यक्तिगत प्रार्थनाएं बनानी हैं, ताकि वे परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हों। मत्ती के इस खण्ड में प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों को सिखाया कि वे अपने लिए तीन बातें परमेश्वर पिता से माँगें, जो पद 11-13a में दी गई हैं। इन तीनों बातों को समझने के बाद अब हम देख रहे हैं कि परमेश्वर कैसे इन तीन बातों के विषय अपने लोगों को प्रशिक्षित करता है। पिछले लेख में हमने पहली बात, परमेश्वर पर निर्भर रहने के प्रशिक्षण के बारे में देखा था। आज हम दूसरी और तीसरी बात के बारे में, और फिर इस खण्ड के समापन के बारे में देखेंगे।
मत्ती 6:12 में प्रभु द्वारा सिखाया गया प्रार्थना का दूसरा विषय है क्षमाशील होना। हमारे प्रति परमेश्वर की क्षमाशीलता ही हमारे लिए सुसमाचार, उद्धार, परमेश्वर के साथ मेल-मिलाप में बने रहने का आधार है (1 यूहन्ना 1:8-10)। इस गुण के प्रशिक्षण के लिए परमेश्वर हमें 1 पतरस 2:23 के अनुभवों से होकर जाने देता है। इन परिस्थितियों में होकर निकलते हुए हमें सही होते हुए भी, किसी का कुछ बिगाड़े बिना भी, किसी के विरोध में कुछ भी कहे या करे बिना भी, ऐसे लोगों, उनके दुर्व्यवहार, और ऐसी कठिन तथा विपरीत परिस्थितियों का सामना करना पड़ेगा जिनमें हमारे धैर्य और संयम की, हमारे तुरन्त ही बातों की प्रतिक्रिया देने की परीक्षा होगी; हमारे सही होते हुए भी हमें गलत बनाया, बताया, दिखाया और समझा जाएगा। जैसे परमेश्वर ने मूसा को 40 वर्ष तक मूर्ख भेड़ों की रखवाली के द्वारा प्रशिक्षित किया; और तब उसे अपने बलवई, ढीठ, और हर बात के लिए कुड़कुड़ाते रहने वाले लोगों की अगुवाई सौंपी, उसी प्रकार वह हमें भी धैर्य और संयम रखते हुए संसार के नासमझ और अपश्चातापी लोगों के साथ व्यवहार करना सिखाएगा। तथा यूसुफ, मूसा, पौलुस आदि के समान अपने सताने वालों के विरोध में कुछ कहने या करने की बजाए, उन्हें वैसे ही क्षमा करना सिखाएगा, जैसे प्रभु ने क्रूस पर अपने पहले वचन में, और स्तिफनुस ने उसे पत्थरवाह करने वालों के लिए कहा “हे पिता इन्हें क्षमा कर, क्योंकि ये नहीं जानते कि ये क्या करते हैं” (लूका 23:34; प्रेरितों 7:60)। जो परमेश्वर से क्षमाशील होने का पाठ सीखना चाहते हैं, उन्हें बहुत सी अनपेक्षित, अनुचित, और दुखदायी परिस्थितियों का सामना करने पर भी अपने सताने वालों के विरुद्ध कुछ भी कहने या सोचने से बचकर रहने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए।
मत्ती 6:13a में दिया गया परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना का तीसरा विषय है, परमेश्वर द्वारा परीक्षा में ना डाले जाना और बुराई से बचाए रखना। हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है कि परमेश्वर अपनी ओर से तब ही हमें परीक्षा में ले जाएगा, जब हम उसके प्रति विश्वास, आज्ञाकारिता, और मनसा में उसके मार्गों से भटक कर उससे दूर जाने लगेंगे; ताकि हमें हमारी वास्तविक दशा से हमको अवगत करवा सके। इसके प्रशिक्षण के लिए, परमेश्वर हमारे सामने संसार और शैतान की ऐसी बातों को आने देगा, जो हमें उसपर तथा उसके वचन पर सन्देह करने के लिए उकसाएंगी, उसकी अनाज्ञाकारिता करने के लिए उभारेंगी, और मसीही विश्वासी होते हुए भी सांसारिकता कि बातों का आनन्द लेने के लिए आकर्षित करेंगी, सांसारिकता का जीवन जीने का प्रलोभन देंगी। ऐसी परिस्थितियों में, यह हमारा निर्णय होगा कि परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के सत्य को जानते हुए भी, हम उन बातों और परिस्थितियों के प्रति क्या निर्णय लेते हैं; जैसा हव्वा के साथ हुआ था (उत्पत्ति 3:1-6), न्यायियों की पुस्तक में शिमशोन का, और नए नियम में कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली के लोगों, आदि, का जीवन दिखाता है। यदि हम उनके समान परमेश्वर के मार्गों से भटकेंगे, चेतावनी मिलने पर भी सही मार्ग पर नहीं लौटेंगे, तो फिर परमेश्वर हमें सुधारने के लिए परीक्षाओं और परेशानियों में ले जाएगा; और आवश्यक हुआ तो हमारी ताड़ना भी करेगा (इब्रानियों 12:5-11), कि हम सुधार जाएं और उसके पास लौट आएं।
तात्पर्य यह कि हमारे मसीही विश्वास की वास्तविक दशा को हम पर प्रमाणित करने के लिए, परमेश्वर हमें हर तरह से परखे और आँकलन किए जाने की परिस्थिति से होकर निकालेगा। लेकिन इन सभी बातों में हमें 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13 और रोमियों 8:28 को ध्यान में बनाए रखना, और यह विश्वास रखना है कि परमेश्वर हमें परीक्षाओं में कभी भी अकेला और असहाय नहीं छोड़ेगा (इब्रानियों 13:5)। इसीलिए प्रेरित पतरस ने इसे 1 पतरस 1:7 में “परखा हुआ विश्वास” जो आग में ताए हुए सोने से भी कहीं अधिक मूल्यवान है, कहा है। लेकिन विडम्बना यह है कि मसीही परमेश्वर से जो माँगते हैं, वह इन तीन बातों के अतिरिक्त होता है; ये तीन बातें तो शायद ही कोई पिता परमेश्वर से माँगता है। और जिन बातों को मसीही प्रार्थना में माँगते हैं, जैसा हमने पहले भी मत्ती 6:19-34 से देखा है, वे बातें वो हैं जिन्हें परमेश्वर ने प्रार्थना के उत्तर में नहीं बल्कि अपने सच्चे, समर्पित, आज्ञाकारी लोगों को, जो अपने जीवनों में उसके तथा उसके राज्य की खोज करने को प्राथमिकता देते हैं, उन्हें स्वतः ही दे देने की प्रतिज्ञा की है। अर्थात, मसीहियों द्वारा सामान्यतः माँगी जाने वाली बातें, परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना के द्वारा नहीं, वरन उसकी आज्ञाकारिता के, उसे प्राथमिकता देने के द्वारा ही मिलती हैं।
प्रभु द्वारा शिष्यों को प्रार्थना में परमेश्वर पिता से माँगने के लिए दिए गए इन तीन विषयों के बाद, पद 13 की समाप्ति, पद 13b एक बार फिर परमेश्वर की आराधना, उसके गुणानुवाद, उसे आदर और महिमा देने के साथ होती है। संक्षेप में, परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य प्रार्थना के लिए, मसीहियों को एक तैयारी (पद 5-8) के साथ परमेश्वर के सम्मुख अना चाहिए; और उनकी प्रार्थना के विषयों का आरम्भ आराधना के साथ (पद 9-10) और अन्त भी आराधना के साथ (पद 13b) होना चाहिए। मत्ती 6:14-15 को हम पहले क्षमाशील होने के साथ देख चुके हैं।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (36)
In our current study on practical Christian living, we have been looking at the four things given in Acts 2:42. Having considered the first three things, now we are considering the fourth thing, prayer, from the examples and related verses in God’s Word the Bible. By learning about them directly from the Bible, we can see how the initial Christian Believers and the churches followed them in their original form. In the past few articles, having seen the reality of the fundamental things, and the misunderstandings amongst the Christians related to prayer and receiving answers to prayers we started to consider the so-called “Lord’s Prayer” from Matthew 6:5-15. We have seen that actually this is an outline, a framework given by the Lord Jesus to His disciples, on which they had to build their own personal prayers, so that their prayers would be acceptable to God. In this passage from Matthew, the Lord taught His disciples that they should ask for three things for themselves from Father God, which are given in verses 11-13a. Having understood about these three things, we are now learning how God trains His people about them. In the last article we had seen about the first thing, i.e., being trained to be dependent upon God. Today we will look about the second and third things, and then about the ending of this section.
In Matthew 6:12 is the second prayer point, i.e., being forgiving. God’s forgiveness towards us is the basis for the gospel, salvation, and our continuing in reconciliation with God (1 John 1:8-10). To train us for this attribute, God allows that we go through the experiences of 1 Peter 2:23. While passing through these circumstances and situations, despite our being correct, without having done or said anything wrong against anyone, or in any way opposed anyone, we will have to put up with people, with their bad and demeaning behavior, and face such difficult and adverse circumstances, where our patience, our tendency to immediately react to things, and our self-control will be tested; where we will be made, said, and shown to be wrong and at fault despite being correct and blameless. As God trained Moses for 40 years by making him look after dumb sheep; and only then allowed him to lead His rebellious, stiff-necked, ever grumbling people, similarly He will teach us to have patience and self-control towards the non-understanding and unrepentant people of the world. And, like Joseph, Moses, Paul, will train us to be those who do not say or do anything against their tormentors, rather forgive them; as the Lord Jesus said in His first word from the Cross and Stephan said about those who were stoning him to death “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34, Acts 7:60). Those who want to learn the lessons of forgiveness from God, they should be prepared to face many unexpected, unfair, and painful circumstances, and yet not complain or say or think anything against their tormentors.
In Matthew 6:13a is the third topic for prayer to God, that God would not lead into temptation and keep safe from evil. We have seen in the previous articles that God will bring us into temptation, i.e., trials when we get misled and move away from Him in our faith, obedience, and mentality towards Him; so that He can make us aware of our true condition. For training us about this, God will let satanic things and such things of this world come before us, that will provoke us to doubt His Word, instigate us to disobey Him, attract us to enjoy the pleasures of the world and entice us to live a worldly life, despite being Christian Believers. In such situations, it will be our decision, that knowing the truth of God and God’s Word, what do we decide to do about those things, as happened with Eve (Genesis 3:1-6), with Samson in the book of Judges, and with the people of the Corinthian church in the New Testament. If, like them, we diverge from God’s ways, not return to the right way even on being warned, then to correct us, God will lead us into trials and problems, and if necessary, even chastise us (Hebrews 12:5-11), that we mend our ways and return to Him.
The implication is that to prove the actual condition of our faith, God will let us pass through situations in which we will be tested and evaluated. But in all these things we should always keep in mind the promises of 1 Corinthians 10:13 and Romans 8:28, and continue to believe that God will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) even in all these circumstances. That is why the Apostle Peter in 1 Peter 1:7 has called it a “genuine faith” much more precious than gold tested by fire. But the irony is that the things that Christians ask from God are other than these three things; there would be hardly anyone who asks for these three things. And the things that Christians ask God for, as we have seen earlier from Matthew 6:19-34, are those which God has promised to give not as an answer to prayers, but automatically give to those of His true, surrendered, obedient people who give Him and seeking His Kingdom the priority in their lives. In other words, the things Christians usually ask in prayer, are those which God gives not as an answer to prayer, but automatically to those who give Him priority in their lives.
After the Lord taught the disciples these three things to ask from God in prayer, verse 13b once again ends in God’s worship, His praise, and by giving Him honor and glory. To summarize, to offer prayers acceptable to God, Christians should approach God with a preparation (verses 5-8), should begin their prayers to Him with worship (verses 9-10), and should also end with worship (verse 13b). We have seen Matthew 6:14-15 earlier while considering being forgiving.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
