परमेश्वर के वचन से बढ़ोतरी की इस श्रृंखला के आरम्भ में हमने देखा था कि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर के सम्पूर्ण वचन को जानना, पढ़ना, और सीखना आवश्यक है। जितना अधिक वह वचन में दृढ़ होगा, उतना ही अधिक उन्नत और बेहतर उसके मसीही विश्वास का जीवन होगा, वह परमेश्वर की निकटता में बढ़ेगा, परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होगा, तथा आशीषित होगा - इस जीवन में भी और आने वाले जीवन में भी। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में तीन प्रकार या श्रेणियों की शिक्षाएं हैं, जिनके पालन को मसीही विश्वासी तथा कलीसियाओं की उन्नति और बढ़ोतरी के साथ विशेषकर दिखाया गया है। ये तीन श्रेणियाँ हैं उद्धार, पश्चाताप तथा परमेश्वर के राज्य से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएं; इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई मसीही विश्वास की छः आरम्भिक शिक्षाएं; और प्रेरितों 2 तथा 15 अध्याय में दी गई व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएं। हमने इन्हीं तीन श्रेणियों की शिक्षाओं के बारे में बाइबल के उदाहरणों और हवालों से देखना और सीखना किया था, ताकि हम इनके बारे में डिनॉमिनेशंस, मतों, मनुष्यों द्वारा दी गई शिक्षाओं की बजाए, इनके बारे में सीधे परमेश्वर के वचन से इन बातों के मूल स्वरूप, परमेश्वर के निर्देशों, और उनके निर्वाह तथा पालन के बारे में सीख सकें। पिछले 250 लेखों में हमने इसी आधार पर पहली दो श्रेणियों को देखा, और फिर तीसरी श्रेणी, अर्थात व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन की शिक्षाओं को देखना आरम्भ किया, जो अभी जारी है। प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में दी गई सात सम्बन्धित शिक्षाओं के बारे में देखने, समझने, और सीखने के बाद, आज से हम प्रेरितों 15 में दी गई व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन बातों से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाओं को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे। इसके लिए पाठकों से निवेदन है कि कृपया कम से कम एक बार इस अध्याय को अवश्य ही पढ़ लें, ताकि बातों को समझने में आसानी रहे। आज हम इस अध्याय का संक्षेप यहाँ पर देखेंगे।
प्रेरितों 15 अध्याय का आरम्भ एक विवाद के साथ होता है। इसकी पृष्ठभूमि के लिए, हमें इससे पहले के कुछ पद, अर्थात प्रेरितों 14:26-28 को देखना होगा, जहाँ पर पौलुस और बरनबास की सेवकाई के बारे में लिखा है। संक्षेप में पौलुस और बरनबास सेवकाई करते हुए, अन्ताकिया वापस लौटे (पद 26) और वहाँ पर कलीसिया को एकत्रित करके उन्होंने अपनी सेवकाई का ब्यौरा उन्हें दिया (पद 27), और वहाँ पर प्रभु के अन्य चेलों के साथ बहुत दिन तक रहे (पद 28)। इसके बाद प्रेरितों 15:1 में लिखा है कि उनके वहाँ रहते हुए, यहूदिया से, जो इस्राएल में है, बहुत से लोग अन्ताकिया पहुँचे और “भाइयों,” अर्थात अन्ताकिया के मसीही विश्वासियों को सिखाने लगे कि उन्हें न केवल प्रभु यीशु पर विश्वास करना है, वरन मूसा की रीति के अनुसार खतना भी करवाना है, तभी उनका उद्धार पूर्ण और स्वीकार्य होगा। फिर हम पद 2-4 में देखते हैं कि इस बात को लेकर पौलुस और बरनबास का उन लोगों के साथ बहुत झगड़ा और वाद-विवाद हुआ, किन्तु समाधान कोई नहीं निकला। अन्ततः यह निर्णय लिया गया कि यरूशलेम जाकर, जहाँ पर प्रभु के शिष्य, प्रेरित, और मण्डली के अगुवे थे, उनके सामने इस विषय पर चर्चा हो, और उनका निर्णय सर्वमान्य होगा, सभी कलीसियाओं में लागू माना जाएगा।
जब यरूशलेम में प्रेरितों, प्रभु के शिष्यों, कलीसिया के अगुवों के सामने इस बात को रखा गया, तो वहाँ उपस्थित फरीसियों के पन्थ से मसीही विश्वास में आए लोगों ने भी ना केवल खतना करने, बल्कि साथ ही मूसा की व्यवस्था का पालन करने के लिए कहा। इसलिए प्रेरित और प्राचीन इस बात पर विचार करने और निर्णय लेने के लिए एकत्रित हुए (पद 5-6)। काफी वाद-विवाद और चर्चा के बाद, पतरस ने अपनी अन्यजातियों में अपनी सेवकाई तथा व्यवस्था पालन के साथ सम्बन्धित अनुभवों के आधार पर समझाया कि खतना और मूसा की व्यवस्था का पालन करना क्यों व्यर्थ है, और उद्धार केवल प्रभु यीशु के अनुग्रह ही से है; और बात सभी की समझ में आ गई, वाद-विवाद शान्त हो गया (पद 7-12)। इसके बाद प्रभु के भाई, याकूब ने पतरस की बात तथा पवित्र शास्त्र के आधार पर समीक्षा की और निर्णय दिया कि जो लोग अन्यजातियों में से प्रभु की ओर फिर रहे हैं, उनपर कोई और बात थोपने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। उनका विश्वास कर लेना और प्रभु को स्वीकार कर लेना ही उद्धार के लिए पर्याप्त है (पद 13-21)। लेकिन साथ ही उन अन्य जातियों में पाई जाने वाली चार व्यावहारिक बातों को उन्हें छोड़ देना चाहिए (पद 20)।
इसके बाद, सम्भवतः यह प्रमाणित करने के लिए कि पौलुस और बरनबास स्वयं ही अपनी ही बात औरों में नहीं पहुँचा रहे हैं, इन चारों बातों को एक पत्र में लिखकर, यरूशलेम की कलीसिया के अगुवों में से यहूदा और सीलास के साथ अन्ताकिया की कलीसिया को पहुँचा दिया (पद 22-31)। साथ ही, जैसा यरूशलेम के प्राचीनों ने लिखा (पद 28), उनका यह निष्कर्ष और निर्देश, केवल उनकी अपनी चर्चा और विचारों का परिणाम नहीं था, वरन यह निर्णय, और ये बातें पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में हुई थीं; अर्थात परमेश्वर की ओर से थीं। इसके बाद, पौलुस फिर से अपनी मसीही सेवकाई की यात्रा पर निकला, और जैसा प्रेरितों 16:4-5 में लिखा है वह यरूशलेम के प्राचीनों के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा कि अगुवाई में ठहराई गई इन बातों को भी विधियों के रूप में बताता चला गया, और परिणामस्वरूप कलीसियाएं विश्वास में स्थिर और गिनती में प्रतिदिन बढ़ती चली गईं “और नगर नगर जाते हुए वे उन विधियों को जो यरूशलेम के प्रेरितों और प्राचीनों ने ठहराई थीं, मानने के लिये उन्हें पहुंचाते जाते थे। इस प्रकार कलीसिया विश्वास में स्थिर होती गई और गिनती में प्रति दिन बढ़ती गई।”

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Things Related to Practical Christian Living – 96
Christian Living and Observing the Law (1)
At the beginning of this series on Growth Through God’s Word we had seen that it is essential for every Christian Believer to know, read, and study the whole Word of God. The more he is established in the Word of God, the more edified and better will his Christian life be, the more he will grow in the nearness of God, the more useful will he be for God, and more blessed will he be – in this life, as well as the next. We had also seen that there are three kinds or categories of teachings in God’s Word the Bible, which have particularly been shown to be associated with the edification and growth of the Christian Believers and the churches. These categories are, teachings related to repentance, salvation, and God’s Kingdom; the teachings related to the six elementary principles given in Hebrews 6:1-2; and the things related to practical Christian living given in Acts chapters 2 and 15. To learn their original form, God’s instructions about them, and the way they were followed and practiced in the initial Church, we had begun to see and learn about these three categories of teachings, directly from God’s Word the Bible; to see and learn directly from the examples and references given in the Bible, instead of learning about them from the teachings given by men, or the teachings of various denominations and sects. In the past 250 articles, on this basis, we have considered the first two categories, and then started on the third category, i.e., teachings related to practical Christian living, and we are on it even now. Having seen, understood, and learnt from the seven teachings given in Acts chapter 2, from today we will begin with things given in Acts chapter 15. The readers are requested to please read this chapter at least once, so that it becomes easier to understand what is being said. Today we will see a summary of the chapter here.
Acts chapter 15 begins with a dispute. For the background to the dispute, we will have to consider the preceding few verses, i.e., Acts 14:26-28, where some things related to the ministry of Paul and Barnabas have been mentioned. In brief, Paul and Barnabas, returned to Antioch from their ministry journey (verse 26), they called the Church together, and gave them an account of their ministry (verse 27), and they continued with the disciples of the Lord for a long time (verse 28). After this, it is written in Acts 15:1 that some men came there from Judea, which is in Israel, and started telling the “brothers” i.e., the Christian Believers, that not only should they believe in the Lord Jesus, but according to the custom of Moses, they should also be circumcised, only then will their salvation be completed and accepted. Then we see in verses 2-4 that Paul and Barnabas had had a big argument with them about this, but the matter was not resolved. Eventually, it was decided that the matter will be referred to Jerusalem, where the Lord’s disciples, the Apostles, and other Elders and leaders of the Assembly were, and the matter will be discussed there; then whatever be the decision it will be accepted by all, and will be applicable to all the Assemblies.
When the matter was placed before the disciples of the Lord, the Apostles, and other leaders of the Church, those Believers who had come from amongst the Pharisees, not only insisted on circumcision being done, but also added that the Law of Moses should also be followed. So, the Apostles and the Elders gathered together to discuss this matter and come to a conclusion (verses 5-6). After much dispute and discussion, Peter, on the basis of his ministry amongst the Gentiles and the experiences related to the observance of the Law, explained how circumcision and following the Law were vain, and salvation is only through faith in the Lord Jesus; all those gathered, understood, the dispute settled, the matter was resolved (verses 7-12). After this, James, the brother of the Lord Jesus, on the basis of what Peter had said, and from the Scriptures, reviewed and summarized the matter, and gave the decision that those who are turning to the Lord from the Gentiles, there is no need to impose anything else upon them. Their having accepted the Lord and believed in Him was sufficient for their salvation (verse 13-21). But at the same time, they should stop doing four things that they had been practicing as non-believers (verse 20).
After this, possibly to affirm that Paul and Barnabas, based on their beliefs, had not simply cooked up this conclusion on their own, the Elders in the Church at Jerusalem, wrote the things in a letter and through Judas Barsabas and Silas, the leaders of the Jerusalem Church, had it delivered to the Church in Antioch (verses 22-31). Moreover, as is written in verse 28, this decision by the Elders in Jerusalem, was not just their own, but was reached under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, i.e., was from God. After this, Paul once again set out on his missionary journey, and as is written in Acts 16:4-5, he also told these things that had been decided by the Elders of Jerusalem under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as decrees to be kept; the result was that the churches were strengthened and grew in numbers “And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep, which were determined by the apostles and elders at Jerusalem. So, the churches were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.”

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
