    सुसमाचार से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाओं पर विचार करते हुए, हमने देखा है कि सुसमाचार पश्चाताप और विश्वास करने के द्वारा ही प्रभावी होता है (इब्रानियों 4:2)। जिन्होंने वास्तव में पश्चाताप किया है और सुसमाचार को ग्रहण किया है, वे फिर, नया-जन्म पाए हुए परमेश्वर की सन्तान, मसीही विश्वासी होने के नाते, अपने जीवनों से परमेश्वर की महिमा करते हैं। जो अपने जीवनों से परमेश्वर की महिमा करते हैं, अर्थात स्वेच्छा से परमेश्वर को अपना जीवन समर्पित कर के, उसकी तथा उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता में बने रहने वाले मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए, उनके लिए जो परमेश्वर के कहे का पालन करने के लिए विश्वास के साथ कदम बढ़ाते हैं, परमेश्वर ने तीन प्रकार की बहुत महान आशीषें रख छोड़ी हैं। पहली, जिसे हम देख चुके हैं, है कि परमेश्वर उस विश्वासी के साथ एक लाड़-प्यार करने वाले प्रेमी पिता के समान रहता है।

    दूसरी, जिस पर हम वर्तमान में विचार कर रहे हैं, वह अपने वचन के द्वारा उन्हें सम्पूर्ण, प्रत्येक भले कार्य के लिए पूर्णतः तैयार, और परिपक्व बनाता है ताकि वे मनुष्यों की चालाकियों द्वारा किसी धोखे में न पड़ें। तीसरी, परमेश्वर उन्हें अपने पुत्र प्रभु यीशु मसीह के स्वरूप और समानता में ढालना चाहता है। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने विश्वासियों को अपना वचन दिया है, और अपना पवित्र आत्मा भी, कि उनका सहायक हो, उन्हें वचन सिखाए, और मसीही जीवन जीने में उनका मार्गदर्शन करे। हमने यह भी देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासियों को सीधे सिखाने के अतिरिक्त, पाँच प्रकार की वचन से सम्बन्धित सेवकाइयों के द्वारा भी परमेश्वर के वचन को सिखाता है; और इन सेवकों के द्वारा अपनी-अपनी सेवकाई को भली-भान्ति निभाने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन को चार भिन्न तरीकों से उपयोग करना चाहिए। आज हम मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा होने वाले कुछ प्रभावों को देखेंगे, जब वचन को ठीक से ग्रहण किया जाता है और उचित रीती से उसका पालन किया जाता है, तब वह जीवनों में क्या परिवर्तन और आशीषें लाता है।

    सामान्यतः, मसीही विश्वासियों में, वचन को सीखना और उस पर मनन करना तो दूर, उनके द्वारा व्यक्तिगत रीति से परमेश्वर के वचन को नियमित और क्रमवार पढ़ने की बड़ी कमी देखी जाती है। इसका प्रमुख कारण है कि उन्होंने कभी इसके बारे में सीखा ही नहीं है, या उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन को अपने जीवन में कार्यकारी होने देने के बारे में सिखाया नहीं गया है। वे केवल कुछ परम्पराएं निभाना और औपचारिकताएं पूरा करना ही जानते हैं। यद्यपि यह अपने आप में एक बड़ा विषय है, और सम्पूर्ण भजन 119 परमेश्वर के वचन ही के बारे में है; किन्तु आज हम इस भजन तथा यूहन्ना रचित सुसमाचार से केवल कुछ पद ही देखेंगे। जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ उचित और पर्याप्त समय बिताने के महत्व और आवश्यकता को दिखाते हैं, और जो लोग परमेश्वर के वचन को आदर देते हैं, उसका पालन करते हैं, उनके जीवनों में वचन द्वारा क्या प्रभाव आते हैं।

• सबसे पहली बात, जिसका विश्वासियों को एहसास करना चाहिए और सदा ध्यान में रखना चाहिए, है कि परमेश्वर का सम्पूर्ण वचन सत्य और आवश्यक है “तेरा सारा वचन सत्य ही है; और तेरा एक-एक धर्ममय नियम सदा काल तक अटल है” (भजन 119:160)। उसमें से कुछ भाग चुन लेने और शेष को छोड़ देने का कोई औचित्य या अनुमति नहीं है। उसका, उसकी सम्पूर्णता में आदर एवं पालन किया जाना चाहिए।

• जो लोग ऐसा करते हैं, वे परमेश्वर की शान्ति और सुरक्षा की बड़ी आशीष पाते हैं, “तेरी व्यवस्था से प्रीति रखने वालों को बड़ी शान्ति होती है; और उन को कुछ ठोकर नहीं लगती” (भजन 119:165)।

• जब परमेश्वर का वचन व्यक्ति के मन में भरा रहता है, तो वह उसे सचेत रखता है और पाप करने से रोके रहता है, “जवान अपनी चाल को किस उपाय से शुद्ध रखे? तेरे वचन के अनुसार सावधान रहने से। मैं ने तेरे वचन को अपने हृदय में रख छोड़ा है, कि तेरे विरुद्ध पाप न करूं” (भजन 119:9, 11)। परमेश्वर का वचन, प्रभु के शिष्यों को शुद्ध करता है “तुम तो उस वचन के कारण जो मैं ने तुम से कहा है, शुद्ध हो” (यूहन्ना 15:3)।

• परमेश्वर के वचन पर निरन्तर मनन करते रहने का रवैया बनाए रखने से परमेश्वर के लोग बुद्धिमान और अपने विरोधियों से भी अधिक समझदार और ज्ञानवान बन जाते हैं “अहा! मैं तेरी व्यवस्था में कैसी प्रीति रखता हूं! दिन भर मेरा ध्यान उसी पर लगा रहता है। तू अपनी आज्ञाओं के द्वारा मुझे अपने शत्रुओं से अधिक बुद्धिमान करता है, क्योंकि वे सदा मेरे मन में रहती हैं। मैं अपने सब शिक्षकों से भी अधिक समझ रखता हूं, क्योंकि मेरा ध्यान तेरी चितौनियों पर लगा है। मैं पुरनियों से भी समझदार हूं, क्योंकि मैं तेरे उपदेशों को पकड़े हुए हूं” (भजन 119:97-100)।

• जिनके पास परमेश्वर का वचन रहता है और वे उसका पालन भी करते हैं, वे ही सच में प्रभु से प्रेम करने वाले होते हैं; और फिर प्रभु तथा पिता परमेश्वर भी उनसे प्रेम करते हैं, उसके साथ आ कर निवास करते हैं “जिस के पास मेरी आज्ञा है, और वह उन्हें मानता है, वही मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, और जो मुझ से प्रेम रखता है, उस से मेरा पिता प्रेम रखेगा, और मैं उस से प्रेम रखूंगा, और अपने आप को उस पर प्रगट करूंगा। यीशु ने उसको उत्तर दिया, यदि कोई मुझ से प्रेम रखे, तो वह मेरे वचन को मानेगा, और मेरा पिता उस से प्रेम रखेगा, और हम उसके पास आएंगे, और उसके साथ वास करेंगे” (यूहन्ना 14:21, 23)। जब कि परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन नहीं करना, इस बात का प्रमाण है कि वह व्यक्ति प्रभु से वास्तविक प्रेम नहीं करता है “जो मुझ से प्रेम नहीं रखता, वह मेरे वचन नहीं मानता, और जो वचन तुम सुनते हो, वह मेरा नहीं वरन पिता का है, जिसने मुझे भेजा” (यूहन्ना 14:24)।

• जो परमेश्वर के वचन को धीरज से थामे रहते हैं, वे सँसार पर आने वाली परीक्षा से सुरक्षित बने रहेंगे “तू ने मेरे धीरज के वचन को थामा है, इसलिये मैं भी तुझे परीक्षा के उस समय बचा रखूंगा, जो पृथ्वी पर रहने वालों के परखने के लिये सारे संसार पर आने वाला है” (प्रकाशितवाक्य 3:10)।

    इस प्रकार हम देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर ने मसीही विश्वासी के हाथों में एक महान आशीष, और सुरक्षित तथा सकुशल रहने की कुंजी प्रदान कर रखी है, यदि वे उसे पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में, जो उन्हें इसी कार्य के लिए दिया गया है, सही तरीके से उपयोग करें। अगले लेख में हम तीसरी आशीष और प्रतिफल, प्रभु यीशु की समानता में ढलते जाना, को देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके और प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 12 

 

    While considering the teachings about the gospel, we have seen that the gospel is made effective through repentance and faith (Hebrews 4:2). Those who have truly repented and have accepted the gospel, they, the Christian Believers, the Born-Again children of God, then glorify God through their lives. For those who glorify God through their lives, i.e., for the Christian Believers who have voluntarily chosen to fully surrender himself to the Lord, live in obedience to Him and His Word, God has kept three very great blessings for their stepping out in faith to do God’s bidding. Firstly, what we have already seen is that God lives with him like a loving, doting Father.

    Secondly, the one we are presently considering, God, through His Word, wants to make them complete and thoroughly prepared for every good work; make them mature so that they cannot be deceived by the trickeries of men. Thirdly, God wants to bring them into the form and image of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In the last article we have seen that God has given the Believers His Word, and His Holy Spirit to help them, to teach them the Word, and to guide the Believers in Christian living. We also saw that besides directly teaching the Christian Believers, the Holy Spirit also teaches God’s Word through the ministry of five kinds of ministers of God’s Word; and there are four ways in which God’s Word must be used by these ministers to fulfil their ministries. Today, we will see some of the effects of God’s Word in the Christian Believer’s life; when God’s Word is rightly received and properly obeyed, then what changes and blessings it brings.

    Amongst the Christians, generally speaking, there is a great lack of interest in personally reading God’s Word, regularly and systematically; let alone learning it, meditating upon it. The primary reason for this is that they have not learned, or have not been taught the importance and utility of allowing God’s Word to work in their lives; they only know about fulfilling rituals and some formalities. Although this is a vast subject by itself, and the whole of Psalm 119 is about God’s Word; but today, we will see only a few verses from this Psalm, and John’s gospel. These verses illustrate the importance and necessity of personally spending appropriate time with God’s Word; the effects God’s Word produces in the lives of those who honor and obey it.

• The first thing that the Believers should realize and always keep in mind is that all of God’s Word is true and necessary “The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever” (Psalm 119:160); there is no scope or permission for picking and choosing some parts and ignoring the rest. All of God’s Word must be honored and obeyed.

• Those who do so, are greatly blessed by God’s peace and care, “Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble” (Psalm 119:165).

• When God’s Word fills a person’s heart, it cautions him and keeps him from committing sin, “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!” (Psalm 119:9, 11). God’s word washes and cleanses His disciples “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you” (John 15:3).

• Having an attitude of meditating on God's Word continually makes God’s people wiser and more knowledgeable than their detractors and even the ancients, “Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; For they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep Your precepts.” (Psalm 119:97-100).

• Those who have God’s commandments and keep them too, are the ones who actually love the Lord; and they in turn are loved by the Lord and God the Father, and they come to reside with him “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:21, 23). Whereas, not obeying God’s Word is proof that the person does not really love the Lord “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me” (John 14:24).

• Those who obey the Lord’s command to persevere, will be kept safe in the trial coming upon the world “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth” (Revelation 3:10).

    So, we see how God has placed in the hands of the Christian Believers a great blessing, and the key to be safe and secure, provided they learn to use it properly, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, given to them for this purpose. In the next article we will take up the third blessing and reward, of conforming to the Lord Jesus.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

क्योंकि प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी भी है, जो उस में निवास करता है, और उसके उद्धार पाने के क्षण ही में परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे दे दिया जाता है, इसलिए विश्वासी को अपने भण्डारी होने का निर्वाह योग्य रीति से करना है। विश्वासी को परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा दिया गया ताकि उसके मसीही जीवन को जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई का ठीक प्रकार से निर्वाह करने में उसका सहायक हो, मार्गदर्शक हो। पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी का शिक्षक भी है; जिन अन्य बातों को विश्वासी को सीखना होता है, उन के अतिरिक्त, पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के वचन को भी सिखाता है। क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध और अचूक नहीं है, सभी से गलतियाँ होती हैं, और सभी अपनी समझ के अनुसार की गई व्याख्या को प्रमुख करते हैं, इसलिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने के लिये किसी मनुष्य एवं मनुष्य की रचनाओं पर निर्भर रहने की बजाए, उसे प्राथमिक रीति से परमेश्वर के वचन को पवित्र आत्मा से ही सीखना चाहिए, जिस से कि किसी भी प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ने के खतरे से बचा रहे। परमेश्वर की यह आज्ञा भी है कि मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं और व्याख्याओं को हमेशा पहले वचन से जाँच-परख लेना चाहिये, और बाइबल से सुसंगत होने पर ही उन्हें स्वीकार करना चाहिये। 

पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि लोग क्यों पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए, मनुष्यों से सीखने पर अधिक निर्भर रहना चाहते हैं; और हमने 1 पतरस 2:1-2 से यह भी देखा है कि विश्वासी को पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए अपने आप को किस प्रकार से तैयार करना चाहिए। पिछले लेख से हमने भजन 25 से परमेश्वर द्वारा लोगों को अपने वचन और मार्गों को सीखने के बारे में देखना आरंभ किया है। यह भजन विश्वासी के परमेश्वर से वचन को सीखने के बारे में मनन करने के लिए कुछ बहुत गंभीर और महत्वपूर्ण बातों को दिखाता है; और साथ ही कुछ गलत धारणाओं का भी, जो वचन सीखने के बारे में सामान्यतः लोगों में पाई जाती हैं, निवारण कर देता है। संबंधित पदों से, जिस क्रम में वे लिखे गए हैं, पिछले लेख में हमने पद 8 और 9 से देखा था, कि परमेश्वर पापियों को सिखाता है, और वह सीखने वाले में नम्रता होने की माँग करता है। आज हम इससे आगे, एक और पद से सीखेंगे।

परमेश्वर द्वारा वचन और उसके मार्ग सिखाने से संबंधित यह अगला पद है, पद 12: “वह कौन है जो यहोवा का भय मानता है? यहोवा उसको उसी मार्ग पर जिस से वह प्रसन्न होता है चलाएगा।” यह पद उन विश्वासियों के सामने जो परमेश्वर से सीखना चाहते हैं, दो बातों को विचार करने के लिए रखता है।

• पहली, परमेश्वर सीखने वाले में न केवल नम्रता चाहता है, लेकिन साथ ही यह भी कि वह यहोवा का भय मानता है। बहुत से लोग परमेश्वर का भय रखने का दावा तो करते हैं, किन्तु वे इसे अपने जीवन में व्यावहारिक रीति से प्रकट नहीं करते हैं। अधिकाँश के लिए परमेश्वर का भय रखने का अर्थ होता है अपनी नैतिक और धार्मिक धारणाओं का रीति के अनुसार निर्वाह करते रहना। किन्तु परमेश्वर का वचन हमारे लिए परिभाषित करता है कि वास्तव में परमेश्वर का भय क्या होता है, “यहोवा का भय मानना बुराई से बैर रखना है। घमण्ड, अहंकार, और बुरी चाल से, और उलट फेर की बात से भी मैं बैर रखती हूं” (नीतिवचन 8:13)। इसलिए, वह जो वास्तव में परमेश्वर का भय मानता है, वह हर प्रकार की बुराई से बैर रखेगा, और अपने जीवन के द्वारा उसे व्यावहारिक रीति से भी दिखाएगा। साथ ही वह इस बात के लिए भी सचेत रहेगा कि इस पद में लिखी उन अन्य बातों से भी दूर रहे जिन से परमेश्वर बैर रखता है। यदि हम नीतिवचन 8:13 को, और वचन सीखने से पहले 1 पतरस 2:1 में दी गई अनिवार्यता को साथ रखकर देखें, तो प्रकट है कि दोनों ही जगह पवित्र आत्मा ने एक ही बात को भिन्न शब्दों में लिखवाया है, परन्तु दोनों का मूल-भाव एक ही है। अर्थात् पुराने और नये नियम में, वचन सीखने का आधार बदला नहीं है, अटल परमेश्वर के समान यह सीखने का आधार भी अपरिवर्तनीय ही है। 

• दूसरी, उसे परमेश्वर उसी मार्ग पर जिस से वह प्रसन्न होता है चलाएगा; अर्थात, परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए जो तय किया है, उसके अनुसार उसे सिखाएगा। प्रत्येक विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर ने पहले से ही कुछ बातें निर्धारित कर के रखी हैं (इफिसियों 2:10); और उसे के अनुसार उसे आत्मिक वरदान भी दिए हैं कि उस कार्य या सेवकाई का निर्वाह करे (रोमियों 12:6-18)। परमेश्वर उसी के अनुसार सिखाता है, जो वह चाहता है कि वह व्यक्ति उसके लिए करे। बाइबल, परमेश्वर की आशीषों और गुणों का भण्डार है, और हर कोई उस से सीख सकता है; परमेश्वर ने जो कार्य और सेवकाई विश्वासी के लिए निर्धारित की है, उसे के अनुसार सीखने और उस में बढ़ने की योग्यता और क्षमता भी उसे प्रदान करता है। विश्वासी जैसे-जैसे अपनी सेवकाई को पूरा करते हैं, परमेश्वर के प्रति आज्ञाकारी और प्रतिबद्ध बने रहते हैं, परमेश्वर भी उन्हें और बढ़ता एवं परिपक्व करता जाता है, और उनकी विश्वासयोग्यता के लिए उन्हें और अधिक आशीषित करता है, जैसा कि भजन 25:13-14 से प्रकट है।

इसलिए, भजन 25:4 “हे यहोवा अपने मार्ग मुझ को दिखला; अपना पथ मुझे बता दे” परमेश्वर से सीखने की इच्छा रखने वाले प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी की सच्चे मन से की गई प्रार्थना होनी चाहिए। परमेश्वर कभी अपने आप को किसी पर थोपता नहीं है, जब हम उस से माँगते हैं, उसे अनुमति देते हैं, तब वह हमारे जीवनों में अद्भुत कार्य करता है जिन से हमारा लाभ और परमेश्वर की महिमा होती है। अगले लेख से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा सिखाए जाने के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 18

 

Since every Born-Again Christian Believer is a steward of the Holy Spirit, who resides in him, and has been given to him by God at the very moment of his being saved, therefore, the Believer should strive to fulfill his stewardship worthily. God the Holy Spirit has been given to the Believer to help and guide him in his Christian life and for fulfilling his God given ministry. The Holy Spirit is also the Believer’s Teacher; besides other things that he needs to learn, the Holy Spirit teaches him God’s Word the Bible too. Since no person is perfect or infallible, since everyone makes mistakes, and since all have the tendency to give prominence to interpretations according to their own understanding, therefore, every Christian Believer should learn the Word of God from the Holy Spirit, instead of relying upon men and their works, to avoid falling into any possible erroneous teachings. It is God’s command that the teachings and interpretations given by men must always be first cross-checked and verified from God’s Word, and accepted only if they are found to be consistent with the Bible. 

In the previous articles we have seen why people rely more upon men to learn God’s Word, than learn from the Holy Spirit; and have seen from 1 Peter 2:1-2 how the Believer should prepare himself to learn from the Holy Spirit. Since the last article, we have started to see from Psalm 25, about God’s teaching His people. This Psalm shows us some very important points to ponder over in learning from God; and it also dispels many common misconceptions related to learning God’s Word and ways, seen amongst the people. From the relevant verses, in the order of the verses, we have seen from verses 8 and 9 in the last article, that God teaches sinners, and He requires humility in the learner. Today we will carry on learning from one more verse.

The next verse related to God’s teaching His Word and ways is Verse 12: “Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.” This verse puts before the Believers wanting to learn from God, two points to consider.

• Firstly, God not only wants humility in the learner, but also that he should be a man that fears the Lord. Many people claim to fear the Lord, but they do not practically demonstrate it through their lives. For most, being in the fear of the Lord usually means a ritualistic observance of their religious and moral beliefs. But God’s Word defines for us, what fear of the Lord actually is, “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate” (Proverbs 8:13). Therefore, the person who actually does fear the Lord, will hate evil in all its forms, and will also demonstrate it practically through his life. And he will also be careful to see that the other things mentioned in this verse, things that God hates, do not have a place in his life. If we take Proverbs 8:13, and see it along with 1 Peter 2:1, the verse that gives the preliminary mandatory condition to being able to learn God’s Word, then it is evident that at both places, the Holy Spirit has had the same thing written, in different words, the basic sense at both places is the same. In other words, in the Old as well as the New Testament, the basis for learning God’s Word never changed, like God is unchanging, His basis for this learning is also unchanging.

• Secondly, God will teach that person; but, Him shall He teach in the way He chooses; i.e., will teach according to what God has chosen for him. For every Believer, God has prepared some things to do beforehand (Ephesians 2:10); and has given him spiritual gifts accordingly, to fulfil that work or ministry (Romans 12:6-8). God teaches according to what He wants that person to do for Him. The Bible is a treasure trove of God’s blessings and abilities, and everyone can learn from it; God will give the ability to learn and grow in the work or ministry that He has assigned to every Believer. As the Believers fulfil their ministry, remain obedient and committed to God in it, God will continue to teach them more, to grow and mature them further, and be more blessed because of their faithful service, as is borne out from Psalm 25:13-14.

Therefore, Psalm 25:4 “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths” should be the heartfelt prayer of every Christian Believer, to learn from God. God never imposes Himself on anyone, when we ask Him and allow Him, He does wonderful things in our life that will benefit us and glorify Him. In the next article we will begin to see from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 about the Holy Spirit’s teaching the Believers.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हमने 1 पतरस 2:1-2 से यह भी देखा है कि पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए, विश्वासी को साँसारिक और शारीरिक व्यवहार को त्याग देना होगा, उसे पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने की वास्तविक, सच्ची इच्छा रखनी होगी। और उसे अपने अंदर केवल परमेश्वर के वचन और शिक्षाओं के “निर्मल आत्मिक दूध” को ही प्राप्त करने की उत्कंठा रखनी होगी; बजाए परमेश्वर के सत्य के नाम पर कुछ भी मिलावटी बातें ग्रहण करने की प्रवृत्ति रखने के। जब विश्वासी के अन्दर यह वास्तविक लालसा होगी, जब वह परमेश्वर से माँगेगा कि वही उसे सिखाए, और मनुष्यों की बातों की बजाए पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन में चलने का साहस रखने का निर्णय लेगा, तो उस में निवास करने वाला पवित्र आत्मा उसकी सहायता करेगा, उसका मार्गदर्शन करेगा, उसे सही और गलत, शुद्ध और मिलावटी में पहचान और भेद करने की योग्यता और क्षमता देगा। आज हम भजन 25 से सीखना आरंभ करेंगे कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को अपना वचन कैसे सिखाता है।

पवित्र आत्मा के प्रभु के नया-जन्म पाए हुए विश्वासियों में रहने की प्रतिज्ञा प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों के साथ उनकी अंतिम चर्चा के दौरान की थी, उनके क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के लिए पकड़े जाने से पहले। पृथ्वी पर अपनी सेवकाई के दिनों में प्रभु ने उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में सिखाया था; और इस अंतिम चर्चा में जो सिखाया था, वह हमारे लिए यूहन्ना 14 से 16 अध्याय में लिखा गया है। लेकिन इसका यह अर्थ नहीं है कि पुराने नियम के समय के परमेश्वर के लोगों को परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के बारे में सीखने के लिए कोई ईश्वरीय सहायता उपलब्ध नहीं थी। परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने लोगों को पवित्र शास्त्र सिखाए जाने से संबंधित एक खण्ड दाऊद के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में होकर लिखा गया एक भजन है। उनके लिए जो उसका वचन सीखना चाहते हैं, दाऊद में होकर परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में कुछ बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातें लिखवाई हैं, कि उन पर मनन किया जाए। भजन 25 की ये बातें लोगों के मनों में परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने से संबंधित बसी हुई कई गलत धारणाओं को नकार देती हैं, और कई उन गलतफहमियों को दूर कर देती हैं जिन्हें शैतान परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने के संदर्भ में लोगों में फैलाता रहता है।

• पद 8: “यहोवा भला और सीधा है; इसलिये वह पापियों को अपना मार्ग दिखलाएगा।” परमेश्वर पक्षपात नहीं करता है; यदि वे सच्चे मन से उस से सीखना चाहें, तो परमेश्वर पापियों को भी अपने मार्ग दिखाता है। दाऊद ने जिस समय यह भजन लिखा था, उस समय प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास के द्वारा उद्धार पाने के बारे में कोई नहीं जानता था। इसलिए, इस खण्ड पर विचार करते समय, परमेश्वर के उन लोगों में “उद्धार पाए हुए” और “उद्धार नहीं पाए हुए” होने के बारे में सोचना पूर्णतः असंगत है। यद्यपि कोई भी “निष्पाप” और “परिशुद्ध” नहीं हो सकता था, किन्तु साधारण विचार यही था कि परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी होने के लिए, व्यक्ति को उसका आज्ञाकारी होना चाहिए। शैतान द्वारा लोगों को बहकाए जाने का एक तरीका है उन के अन्दर यह विचार डालना कि वे परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के निकट आने, तथा उसके वचन को सीखने के लायक धर्मी और भले नहीं हैं; और वचन को सीखने के लिए पर्याप्त धर्मी और भला होना आवश्यक है। किन्तु यह पद इन सभी विचारों, धारणाओं, और तर्क की व्यर्थता को दिखाता है। क्योंकि हमारे हृदयों में बोया गया वचन हमें उद्धार पाने तक लेकर जाता है (रोमियों 10:8-10; 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:2; इफिसियों 1:13; याकूब 1:21), तो फिर परमेश्वर उसे पापियों से रोक के क्यों रखेगा? और वचन को लोगों से दूर रख कर, उन्हें उसके पास आने तथा उद्धार पाने से वंचित क्यों किये रहेगा? जब विश्वासी सुसमाचार प्रचार करते हैं, तब क्या वे परमेश्वर के वचन को पापियों और “उद्धार नहीं पाए हुए” लोगों के हृदय में नहीं बो रहे होते हैं? यह शैतान के इस झूठ को नकार देता है कि परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने से पहले धर्मी होना आवश्यक है। पवित्रशास्त्र का सटे यही है कि परमेश्वर पापियों को भी अपना वचन सिखाता है। 

• पद 9: “वह नम्र लोगों को न्याय की शिक्षा देगा, हां वह नम्र लोगों को अपना मार्ग दिखलाएगा।” सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में नम्रता ऐसा सदगुण है जिसकी बहुत सराहना की गई है और उसे परमेश्वर के लोगों का एक गुण बताया गया है। परमेश्वर नम्रता की बहुत कद्र करता है तथा उसे इनाम देता है (याकूब 4:6, 10; 1 पतरस 5:5-6); और भजन 25 का यह पद हमें बताता है कि जो उसकी दृष्टि में नम्र होते हैं, परमेश्वर उन्हें अपने मार्ग दिखाता है। साँसारिक एवं शारीरिक व्यवहार के चिह्न 1 कुरिन्थियों 3:3 में दिए गए हैं; और ये वही बाते हैं जिन्हें, जैसा हमने हाल ही में 1 पतरस 2:1 से देखा है, परमेश्वर के लोगों को पहले छोड़ना होगा, तब ही वे परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने पाएँगे। ये सभी घमण्ड, अर्थात नम्रता न होने के चिह्न अथवा परिणाम हैं। परमेश्वर को घमण्ड से घृणा है, और वह उसके साथ किसी भी रीति से कोई संपर्क नहीं रखता है। इसलिए जो भी परमेश्वर से उसका वचन सीखना चाहता है, पहले उसे परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में नम्र होना सीखना पड़ेगा, उसके बाद ही वह उस से कुछ सीखने की आशा रख सकता है।

हम अगले लेख में यहाँ से आगे देखेंगे, और इस भजन से कुछ अन्य तरीकों को देखेंगे जिनके द्वारा परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को सिखाता है।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 17

 

In every Born-Again Christian Believer, God the Holy Spirit resides since the moment of his salvation. He has been given by God to him to be his Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide, for living his Christian life and fulfilling his God assigned ministry. As a steward of God given provision, it is incumbent upon every Believer to learn about the Holy Spirit, as well as to learn God’s Word the Bible from Him, to worthily utilize His services and strength in their lives. Over the past few articles, we have been considering learning God’s Word primarily from the Holy Spirit, instead of learning from man; and the necessity of verifying everything taught by man, whoever he may be, from God’s Word, before accepting it. Without first confirming that which is taught by man renders God’s people prone to learning false teachings, wrong doctrines, and various personal thoughts and opinions of man in the name of God’s truth.

We have also seen from 1 Peter 2:1-2 that to learn from the Holy Spirit, the Believer needs to separate out from worldly and carnal behavior. He must sincerely desire learning from the Holy Spirit; and must have a craving for only the “pure milk of the Word of God” and its teachings, instead of being willing to accept any adulterated teachings dispensed as God’s truth to him. When the Believer has this sincere longing in him, when he asks God for teaching him, and is willing to take the bold step of following the guidance of the Holy Spirit in preference to following men and their teachings, the Holy Spirit residing in him helps and guides him, gives him the discernment and ability to recognize the true from the false, the pure from the impure. Today we will begin to learn from Psalm 25 about God’s teaching His Word to His people.

The promise of the Holy Spirit being with the Born-Again Believers was made by the Lord Jesus to His disciples in His last discourse with them, before His being taken for crucifixion. The Lord had taught them about the Holy Spirit during His earthly ministry; and what he taught in this final discourse has been recorded for us in John chapters 14 to 16. But this does not mean that God’s people in the Old Testament times did not have the benefit of divine help and guidance for learning about God and His Word. One of the sections of the Scriptures that deals with God’s teaching His people is a psalm written by David under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Through David, God has recorded in His Word some very important things for everyone who wants to learn His Word, and these must be pondered over. The things written in Psalm 25 negate many misconceptions that people have about learning God’s Word, and do away with many misunderstandings that Satan has deviously been propagating about learning God’s Word.

In the order they have been written, the relevant verses from Psalm 25 are:

• Verse 8: “Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore, He teaches sinners in the way." God does not discriminate; he teaches even the sinners, if they sincerely want to learn from Him. When David wrote this Psalm, there was no concept of salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus amongst God’s people. Therefore, it is irrelevant to think in terms of “saved” and “not saved” when considering this passage. Though no one could be ‘sinless’ and ‘pure’ but the general idea was that one needs to be obedient to God’s Word to be righteous in His eyes. One of the ways in which Satan misleads people is to make them think that they are not righteous or good enough to approach God, or His Word, or to learn God’s Word; and that one can only learn God’s Word after becoming sufficiently righteous or good. But this verse shows the fallacy of all such teachings. Since it is God’s Word implanted in our hearts that leads us to salvation (Romans 10:8-10; 1 Corinthians 15:2; Ephesians 1:13; James 1:21), why will God withhold it from sinners? And, by keeping the Word away from people, why would He deny them the opportunity to draw near to Him and be saved? When Believers preach the gospel, are they not sowing God’s Word to the sinners and the ‘not-saved’ people? This exposes Satan’s lie that one needs to be righteous to learn God’s Word. The Scriptural truth is that God teaches His Word even to the sinners.

• Verse 9: “The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way.” Throughout the Bible, humility is a virtue that has been greatly praised, and is considered a characteristic of God’s people. God greatly cares for, and rewards humility (James 4:6, 10; 1 Peter 5:5-6); and this verse from Psalm 25 tells us that those who are humble in His sight, He teaches them His ways. The signs of worldliness and carnality given in 1 Corinthians 3:3, things which, as we have recently seen from 1 Peter 2:1, God’s people must give up before learning God’s Word। They are all manifestations or consequences of pride, i.e., lack of humility. God hates pride, and does not in any way associate with it. Therefore, anyone wanting to learn God’s Word must learn to be humble – in God’s eyes, before expecting to learn anything from God.

We will carry on from here in the next article, and see some other ways in which God teaches His people, from this Psalm.

You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना – 7

 

    पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम यह विचार करते आ रहे हैं कि क्यों मसीही विश्वासी सामान्यतः पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने में असफल रहते हैं। परमेश्वर ने अपना पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासियों में निवास करने के लिए उसी पल से उन्हें दे दिया है, जब से उन्होंने उद्धार पाया है। अर्थात्, अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके प्रभु यीशु मसीह को अपना उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करने के द्वारा परमेश्वर के राज्य में नया जन्म प्राप्त किया है। विश्वासी के पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने के क्षण से ही वह पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी भी हो जाता है। पवित्र आत्मा को विश्वासी का सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है, ताकि वह उसके मसीही जीवन में उसकी सहायता करे कि वह उसे परमेश्वर के द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई का निर्वाह भली-भाँति कर सके। इसलिए यह प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के लिए अनिवार्य है कि वह परमेश्वर के वचन में से पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में सीखे, जिस से कि उसकी सहायता को योग्य रीति से उपयोग कर सके।

    यद्यपि पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में निवास करता है(1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), और उसे परमेश्वर का वचन सिखाएगा (यूहन्ना 14:26), फिर भी अधिकाँश मसीही विश्वासी पवित्र आत्मा से परमेश्वर का वचन नहीं सीखते हैं। हाल के लेखों में हम उन के यह करने के कारणों को देख रहे हैं, और वर्तमान में विश्वासियों के पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए मनुष्यों और पुस्तकों से सीखने की प्रवृत्ति, और उनके आत्मिक जीवन पर इसके दुखद परिणामों पर विचार कर रहे हैं। उनका यह करना उनके परमेश्वर के वचन को ठीक से और सही सीखने में, और उनकी आत्मिक उन्नति होने में बाधा डालता है। जैसे बच्चों में अपने शिक्षकों पर अन्ध-विश्वास रखते हुए उन को बहुत मान-सम्मान देने की प्रवृत्ति होती है, वैसे ही कई मसीहियों में कुछ प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों पर अन्ध-विश्वास रखने और उन को बहुत आदर-मान देने की प्रवृत्ति होती है। परिणामस्वरूप, बजाए परमेश्वर के वचनों के सत्यों का पालन करने के, वे उन लोगों का और उनकी शिक्षाओं का - चाहे वे सही हों अथवा गलत, उचित हों अथवा अनुचित, अनुसरण करने लगते हैं; बिना पहले परमेश्वर के वचन से उनकी पुष्टि किए हुए। आज हम इसे, पिछले लेख में हमने जहाँ पर इसे छोड़ा था, उस से और आगे देखेंगे।

    यह सामान्यतः देखा जाता है कि अधिकांश मसीही, विश्वासी भी, बिना कोई प्रश्न पूछे अपनी कलीसिया के अगुवों, प्रचारकों, और शिक्षकों की हर बात को स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, उस पर अँध-विश्वास कर लेते हैं। और साथ ही वे उन अगुवों और प्रचारकों के शब्दों, वाक्यांशों और हाव-भाव को भी अपने जीवनों में अपना लेते हैं, उन लोगों की नकल करने लगते हैं। बहुधा उन अगुवों और प्रचारकों द्वारा बोले जाने वाले ये शब्द और वाक्यांश बाइबल से ही लिए हुए होते हैं। किन्तु वे अगुवे और प्रचारक उन्हें अकसर जिस तरह से उपयोग करते हैं, सिखाते हैं, और बढ़ावा देते हैं, वैसे तथा उस अर्थ के साथ बाइबल में उनका उपयोग कहीं देखने को नहीं मिलता है। अर्थात, वे बाइबल की बातों का, अपनी ही समझ के अनुसार, बाइबल से भिन्न रीति से उपयोग करते हैं, तथा औरों को भी ऐसा ही करना सिखाते हैं। और कुछ मसीही लोगों का उन अगुवों और प्रचारकों के प्रति अँध-विश्वास, बाइबल से बाहर की इन बातों को भी उनके मनों में गहराई से बैठा देता है। यहाँ तक कि वे फिर अपने जीवनों को बाइबल के सत्यों के अनुरूप करने के लिए अपने में किसी भी बदलाव को लाने के प्रति अनिच्छुक और असहमत रहते हैं। यह तब भी बना रहता है, जब उन्हें वे गलतियाँ बाइबल से ही क्यों न दिखाई और स्पष्ट की जाएँ। यदि उन से जान-बूझकर उन गलतियों में बने रहने के कारण बारे में पूछा जाए, तो उनके पास केवल उस स्कूल के बच्चे के समान ही स्पष्टीकरण होता है - ‘क्योंकि मेरा शिक्षक यह कहता और करता है’, और/अथवा ‘क्योंकि मेरे कक्षा के अन्य लोग भी यही कहते और करते हैं।’

    ये मसीही इन मनुष्यों की इन शिक्षाओं के इतने वशीभूत रहते हैं कि चाहे वे अपनी और अपने आदरणीय अगुवों और प्रचारकों की बातों के लिए बाइबल से कोई आधार अथवा स्पष्टीकरण न देने पाएँ, और न ही उसके लिए बाइबल से कोई उदाहरण अथवा प्रमाण देने पाएँ, लेकिन फिर भी वे मनुष्यों की बातों के द्वारा सिखाई गई गलतियों में बने रहना अधिक पसन्द करते हैं, बजाए अपने आप को परमेश्वर के वचन के सत्य के आधार पर सुधारने और सँवारने के। कुछ मसीही तो, आदत के अनुसार, अपनी प्रार्थनाओं और आराधना में, कुछ बाइबल से संबंधित अथवा धार्मिक प्रतीत होने वाले मन-पसन्द शब्दों और वाक्यांशों को, लगभग हर बोले गए वाक्य में बारंबार दोहराते रहते हैं, बिना अपने द्वारा बोले जाने वाले शब्दों पर कोई ध्यान दिए अथवा विचार किए। यदि उन से उनके द्वारा बारंबार और व्यर्थ में दोहराए और कहे जाने वाले शब्दों और वाक्यांशों के बारे कोई स्पष्टीकरण पूछे, तो उस पूछे जाने को वे अपमानजनक समझते हैं, अपने लिए भी और उस अगुवे या शिक्षक के लिए भी जिस से उन्होंने उन बातों को सीखा है। उन्हें इसके बारे में प्रभु यीशु की (मत्ती 6:7-8) तथा राजा सुलैमान में होकर पवित्र आत्मा की शिक्षा (सभोपदेशक 5:1-2) की कोई परवाह नहीं होती है। 

    तो फिर ऐसी मनसा रखने वाले लोगों को, जो अपनी ऐसी ढीठ प्रवृत्ति के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने की अवहेलना करके उस को निष्क्रिय कर देते हैं, उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा कैसे और क्या सिखा सकता है? यह एक प्रकार से उस गतिरोध के समान है जिसका प्रभु यीशु को अपने नगर में सामना करना पड़ा था। जिस पर प्रभु ने अचंभा भी किया, और जिसके कारण वह अपने नगर में कोई बड़ा आश्चर्यकर्म नहीं कर सका (मरकुस 6:1-16)। और उस के समान भी है, जिसका सामना पौलुस को आरंभ में कुरिन्थुस में करना पड़ा था, यहूदियों ने उसका विरोध किया, निन्दा की, और प्रेरित पौलुस को आराधनालय के निकट के एक घर में जा कर अपनी सेवकाई को ज़ारी रखना पड़ा (प्रेरितों 18:1-7)। इसी प्रकार से विश्वासी में निवास करने वाले पवित्र आत्मा को भी, परमेश्वर के सत्यों के प्रति इस घोर प्रतिरोध के सामने खामोश होकर पीछे हट जाना पड़ता है; वह विश्वासी को छोड़ता या त्यागता तो नहीं है, बस शान्त हो जाता है।

    हमारे लिए अद्भुत और बचा लेने वाली अनुग्रहपूर्ण बात यह है कि हमारा परमेश्वर बहुत सहनशील, और बहुत धैर्य रखने वाला परमेश्वर है, जो अपने बच्चों से वर्णन से बाहर प्रेम करता है। यद्यपि वे सीखने के लिए तैयार नहीं है, फिर भी वह उन्हें आत्मिक अकाल में पड़कर मुरझाने और सूख जाने से बचाए रखता है, कुछ न कुछ आत्मिक पोषण प्रदान करता ही रहता है। जैसे प्रभु यीशु अपने नगर से कुछ किए बिना नहीं गया, चाहे वह थोड़े से बीमार लोगों को चँगा करना मात्र था (मरकुस 6:5); और जैसे पौलुस आराधनालय के निकट ही यहूदियों और अन्य जातियों को प्रचार करता और सिखाता रहा, और कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली बन गई (प्रेरितों 18:6-8); उसी प्रकार से पवित्र आत्मा भी इन ढीठ ‘मसीही शिशुओं’ को वह पोषण देता रहता है, जिसे वह पचा सकते हैं - मसीही शिक्षा की आरंभिक बातों का दूध। इसके बारे में हम अगले लेख में आगे देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। सवेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 7

 

    For the past few articles, we have been considering why the Christian Believers often fail to learn from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has been given to them by God to reside in them, from the very moment they are saved. That is, they Born-Again into the Kingdom of God, by repenting from their sins and accepting the Lord Jesus as their savior. From the moment of receiving the Holy Spirit, the Believer also becomes a steward of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is given to be the Believer’s Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide, to help him live his Christian life and fulfil his God assigned ministry. Therefore, it is incumbent upon the Christian Believers to learn about the Holy Spirit from God’s Word, and learn God’s Word from Him to be able to utilize His help worthily.

    Even though the Holy Spirit resides in the Christian Believer (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), and will teach him God’s Word (John 14:26), yet most Believers do not learn God’s Word from the Holy Spirit. In the recent articles we have been looking at the reasons for this failure, and presently have been considering the tendency of the Believers to learn from men and books, rather than from the Holy Spirit; and the sad effects this has on their spiritual life. Their doing this obstructs their properly and correctly learning God’s Word, and hampers their spiritual growth. As children have the tendency of having blind faith in their teachers and holding them in high esteem, similarly some Christians in blind-faith on them, tend to hold certain preachers and teachers in high esteem. Consequently, instead of following the truths of God’s Word, they start emulating some people and their teachings – whether they are correct or incorrect, right or wrong; without first verifying them from God’s Word. Today we will consider this further, moving ahead from where we left at this point in the last article.

    It is often seen that most Christians, even the Believers, blindly believe and accept everything their Church elders and teachers say, without asking any questions. They also adopt the words, phrases, and mannerisms etc. of those leaders and preachers into their own lives. Often these words and phrases commonly spoken by these leaders and preachers, are Biblical. But these words and phrases are used, taught, and promoted by those leaders and preachers to say and mean things quite different than what is given in the Bible. In other words, they use Biblical things, according to their own understanding, in a manner quite different from the way they are said and used in the Bible, and also teach others to do the same. But the blind faith of some Christians in these leaders and preachers, gets these extra-Biblical things very deeply ingrained into them. So much so that they are very reluctant and resistant to accept or consider making any changes in their lives to conform to the Biblical truth. This remains, even when the errors are pointed out and Biblical facts are made clear to them. If asked about their wilful persistence in their errors, the only justification they give is like that of the school-child - ‘because my teacher says so and does it like this’, and/or, ‘because others in my class also do it like this.’ 

    These Christians are so carried away by these teachings of men, that though they may not be able to give any Biblical support, or any example from God’s Word for what they or their revered leaders and preachers say and do, but still, they would rather follow the errors of men, than correct themselves through the truth of God’s Word. Some Christians also develop a habit of using some Biblical or religious sounding pet words and phrases repetitively in practically every sentence they speak, in their prayers and worship, without putting their minds to it. If anyone asks for any clarifications about their habitually and needlessly repeating those words and phrases, they consider it as being disrespectful to them as well, as to their leader and teacher from whom they have learnt these things. They have no concern about the Lord Jesus’s (Matthew 6:7-8) and the Holy Spirit’s teachings given through King Solomon (Ecclesiastes 5:1-2). 

    So, to those who ignore and tie Him down with such a stubborn mind-set; simply refusing to learn and follow the truth, how and what can the Holy Spirit teach? It is something like the resistance the Lord Jesus experienced and marvelled at, that kept Him from doing any mighty works in His hometown (Mark 6:1-6). And also as the Apostle Paul initially faced in Corinth; when the Jews in Corinth refused to listen to the gospel but opposed him and blasphemed, was compelled to leave the synagogue and move to a house adjacent to the synagogue to continue his ministry (Acts 18:1-7). Similarly, the Holy Spirit, residing in the Believer, does not abandon him but quietly steps back in the face of such obstinate resistance to the truths of God’s Words.

    But the marvellous thing and saving grace for us is that our God is a very tolerant and very long-suffering God; one who loves His children with an indescribable love. Even though they are unwilling to learn, He does not leave them to spiritually wither off without receiving any spiritual nourishment; He still keeps feeding them sufficient spiritual sustenance. Just as the Lord Jesus did not leave without doing something, even if it was healing a few sick people (Mark 6:5); and Paul continued to preach and teach adjacent to the synagogue to the Jews and Gentiles, and the Church in Corinth was established (Acts 18:6-8); similarly the Holy Spirit continues to feed these stubborn ‘babes in Christ’ that which they can handle – the spiritual milk of elementary principles. We will see about this in the next article.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life.
