पिछले कुछ लेखों में हमने प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास द्वारा मिलने वाली पापों की क्षमा, उद्धार, और नया जन्म पाने से संबंधित कुछ महत्वपूर्ण और सामान्यतः पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्नों पर विचार किया है, और बाइबल से उनके उत्तर देखे हैं। पिछले दो लेखों में हमने देखा कि एक मसीही विश्वासी भी, उद्धार पाने के बावजूद, पाप कर सकता है, और करता भी है। किन्तु साथ ही उसे उस पाप से निकालने और आगे बढ़ने के लिए परमेश्वर की सहायता भी उपलब्ध रहती है। किन्तु यदि कोई व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की इस सहायता एवं उदारता का दुरुपयोग, लापरवाही का जीवन जीने और पाप करते चले जाने के लिए करता है, तो फिर उसे परमेश्वर की ताड़ना का भी सामना करना पड़ता है, और साथ ही स्वर्ग में उसे मिलने वाले प्रतिफलों की भी हानि होती है। अर्थात, न तो पाप को और न ही उद्धार के अनन्तकालीन होने को लापरवाही से लिया जा सकता है; क्योंकि चाहे उद्धार न भी जाए किन्तु देर-सवेर पाप करते रहने वाले व्यक्ति को पाप के दुष्परिणामों को भुगतना ही पड़ेगा, इस संसार में भी और परलोक में भी। आज इसी शृंखला में हम एक और महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न को देखेंगे:

प्रश्न: क्या उद्धार पा लेने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का शिष्य बन जाने से व्यक्ति संसार के दुख-तकलीफों, बीमारियों, समस्याओं, आदि से मुक्त हो जाता है, और सांसारिक समस्याओं से निश्चिंत होकर जीवन जीने लगता है?

उत्तर: यद्यपि बहुत से लोग अपने सुसमाचार प्रचार में इस बात का आश्वासन देते हैं, किन्तु, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में ऐसा कोई आश्वासन नहीं दिया गया है; और न ही प्रभु यीशु ने कभी अपने शिष्यों से यह कहा कि उनपर विश्वास लाने वाले को सांसारिक समस्याओं से छुटकारा मिल जाएगा, और उनका जीवन सुख एवं समृद्धि से भर जाएगा। जो भी इस प्रकार की शिक्षा या प्रचार के साथ उद्धार का सुसमाचार सुनाते हैं, वे गलत प्रचार करते हैं, लोगों को ऐसा आश्वासन देते हैं जिसका बाइबल में कोई समर्थन नहीं है, और पापों के परिणामों की गंभीरता तथा प्रभु यीशु द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाए गए पापों के समाधान की महानता के आधार पर नहीं, वरन सांसारिक बातों के लालच में लाकर लोगों को प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर आकर्षित करने और उनका अनुसरण करवाने के प्रयास करते हैं। 

जब प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को उनकी पहली प्रचार सेवकाई के लिए भेजा था (मत्ती 10 अध्याय), तब ही उन्हें उन कठिन और दुखदायी परिस्थितियों के लिए आगाह कर दिया था जिनका उन्हें इस सेवकाई के निर्वाह में सामना करना होगा:

* वे पकड़े जाएंगे और दण्ड के लिए अधिकारियों के सामने खड़े किए जाएंगे (10:16-20)

* उनके अपने घर के लोग और निकट संबंधी उनके शत्रु हो जाएंगे (10:21)

* उन्हें लोगों के बैर का सामना करना पड़ेगा (10:22)

* उन्हें इस बैर और सताव से बचने के लिए एक से दूसरे स्थान पर भागना पड़ेगा (10:23)

प्रभु ने यह भी कहा कि जो उनका शिष्य बनना चाहता है उसे प्रतिदिन अपना क्रूस उठाकर उसके पीछे चलने को तैयार रहना चाहिए “उसने सब से कहा, यदि कोई मेरे पीछे आना चाहे, तो अपने आप से इनकार करे और प्रति दिन अपना क्रूस उठाए हुए मेरे पीछे हो ले” (लूका 9:23)। उन दिनों में क्रूस उठाकर, उसे क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के स्थान तक, वह व्यक्ति जाता था जिसे मृत्यु-दण्ड दिया गया है, और देखने वाले उसे देख कर समझ जाते थे कि यह अपराधी है, और अब यह नहीं, इसकी लाश ही लौटेगी। प्रभु का शिष्यों से प्रतिदिन क्रूस उठकर उसके पीछे चलने का निर्णय लेने से अभिप्राय था, प्रतिदिन उसके शिष्य होने के कारण सताए जाने और मारे जाने के लिए तैयार रहना। अपने पकड़वाए जाने से पहले भी प्रभु यीशु ने शिष्यों को सचेत किया, “वे तुम्हें आराधनालयों में से निकाल देंगे, वरन वह समय आता है, कि जो कोई तुम्हें मार डालेगा वह समझेगा कि मैं परमेश्वर की सेवा करता हूं” (यूहन्ना 16:2)। तो फिर प्रभु की इन शिक्षाओं के समक्ष कोई यह कैसे दावा कर सकता है कि प्रभु यीशु की शिष्यता का जीवन समस्याओं तथा परेशानियों से मुक्त एक आराम और सुरक्षा का जीवन होगा?

बाद में प्रभु के शिष्यों ने भी मसीही विश्वास के जीवन के विषय इन्हीं बातों को दोहराया:

* प्रेरितों 14:22 "और चेलों के मन को स्थिर करते रहे और यह उपदेश देते थे, कि हमें बड़े क्लेश उठा कर परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश करना होगा।"

* 2 तीमुथियुस 3:12 "पर जितने मसीह यीशु में भक्ति के साथ जीवन बिताना चाहते हैं वे सब सताए जाएंगे।"

* 1 यूहन्ना 2:18 "हे लड़कों, यह अन्तिम समय है, और जैसा तुम ने सुना है, कि मसीह का विरोधी आने वाला है, उसके अनुसार अब भी बहुत से मसीह के विरोधी उठे हैं; इस से हम जानते हैं, कि यह अन्तिम समय है।"

* 1 यूहन्ना 3:13 "हे भाइयों, यदि संसार तुम से बैर करता है तो अचम्भा न करना।"

* 1 पतरस 4:12 "हे प्रियो, जो दुख रूपी अग्नि तुम्हारे परखने के लिये तुम में भड़की है, इस से यह समझ कर अचम्भा न करो कि कोई अनोखी बात तुम पर बीत रही है।"

* याकूब 1:2-3 "हे मेरे भाइयों, जब तुम नाना प्रकार की परीक्षाओं में पड़ो तो इसको पूरे आनन्द की बात समझो, यह जान कर, कि तुम्हारे विश्वास के परखे जाने से धीरज उत्पन्न होता है।"

अर्थात, क्योंकि मसीही विश्वास में आना शैतान के चंगुल और राज्य से निकलकर परमेश्वर के राज्य में आ जाना है, इसलिए इस संसार में, इस शारीरिक जीवन में शैतान मसीहियों को सताने, उनके विरुद्ध काम करने और लोगों को भड़काने का कोई अवसर नहीं छोड़ेगा। तो फिर मसीही विश्वास में आ जाने के बाद कोई भी संसार के दुख-तकलीफों, बीमारियों, समस्याओं, आदि से मुक्त होकर कैसे रह सकता है? हम अगले लेख में भी इस विषय पर विचार करना और बाइबल से सीखना ज़ारी रखेंगे। 

अभी के लिए, ध्यान कीजिए कि आप को पाप से मुक्ति दिलाने और परमेश्वर से मेल-मिलाप करके, उसकी सन्तान बनकर अनन्तकाल तक रहने के लिए प्रभु यीशु ने तो अपना काम कर के दे दिया है; किन्तु क्या आपने उसके इस आपकी ओर बढ़े हुए प्रेम और अनुग्रह के हाथ को थाम लिया है, उसकी भेंट को स्वीकार कर लिया है? या आप अभी भी अपने ही प्रयासों के द्वारा वह करना चाह रहे हैं जो मनुष्यों के लिए कर पाना असंभव है? आपके द्वारा स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे और पूर्णतः समर्पित मन से, अपने पापों के प्रति सच्चे पश्चाताप के साथ आपके द्वारा की गई एक छोटी प्रार्थना, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं मान लेता हूँ कि मैंने जाने-अनजाने में, मन-ध्यान-विचार और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किए हैं। मैं मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए गए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों के दण्ड को अपने ऊपर लेकर पूर्णतः सह लिया, उन पापों की पूरी-पूरी कीमत सदा काल के लिए चुका दी है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मेरे मन को अपनी ओर परिवर्तित करें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें, अपने साथ कर लें” आपका सच्चे मन से लिया गया मन परिवर्तन का यह निर्णय आपके इस जीवन तथा परलोक के जीवन को आशीषित तथा स्वर्गीय जीवन बना देगा। अभी अवसर है, अभी प्रभु का निमंत्रण आपके लिए है - उसे स्वीकार कर लीजिए।

Some Related Questions and their Answers (5a)

In the previous articles, we have been considering some important and commonly asked questions related to Christian Faith, forgiveness of sins, salvation, and being Born-Again, and learning their answers from the Bible. In the last article we had seen that a Christian Believer despite being saved, despite being Born-Again, might still sin and does sin. But he also has the help of God to extricate him from the sin; if a person continues to live a careless and wayward life, and misuses God’s help and grace, then he has to face God’s chastening here on earth and suffer loss of his heavenly rewards for his eternal life. This means that neither salvation being eternal, nor committing sin by a saved person can be taken lightly; because even if salvation is not lost, the person persisting in sin will have to face the harmful effects of sin, in this life as well as the next. Today in this series, we will look at one more important question: 

Question: By being saved and Born-Again, and becoming a disciple of Lord Jesus Christ, is a person delivered from the worldly problems and pains, from sickness, adverse situations etc. and begins to live a life free of problems of the world?

Answer: Although many people while preaching the Gospel, give an assurance about this, but in God’s Word the Bible, there is no such assurance given, and neither did the Lord Jesus ever say to His disciples that those who believe on Him will be delivered from the problems of this world, and their lives will be filled with worldly joy, satisfaction, and material prosperity. Whosoever preaches any such teaching or gospel, preaches falsehood, gives an assurance to the people that is not given in the Bible. They try to entice people into being attracted towards the Lord Jesus and follow Him for worldly gains and material things, instead of showing to them the seriousness of the problem of sin and the wonderful solution prepared and made freely available by the Lord Jesus for this problem.

The Lord Jesus Christ, at the time of sending His disciples for the first time for their ministry (Matthew 10), forewarned them of the difficult and painful situations they will have to face during this ministry:

* They will be taken into custody and brought before officials to be punished (Matthew 10:16-20).

* People from their own homes and families will become their enemies (Matthew 10:21). 

* They will have to face the opposition of the people (Matthew 10:22).

* They will have to run from one place to another to escape from this opposition and persecution (Matthew 10:23).

The Lord had also said that those who wanted to be His disciples should be willing to take up their cross daily to follow Him “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23). At the time the Lord Jesus made this statement, the Lord Himself had not yet been crucified, but His followers knew and understood that those who had been condemned to death would walk to the place of being crucified bearing their cross, and those who saw this understood that the man was a despicable criminal, and now not he but only his dead body will return. The Lord’s implication in asking His disciples to daily lift their cross was that the disciple of Christ should be ready to suffer and die for being His disciple, every day. Before His being caught for crucifixion, the Lord Jesus had cautioned His disciples, “They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service” (John 16:2). Therefore, in the face of these teachings of the Lord, how can anyone claim that becoming a disciple of Lord Jesus will ensure a life of ease and security, free from problems and adverse situations?

Later, even the disciples of the Lord Jesus re-iterated these teachings in context of leading a life of Christian Faith:

* Acts 14:22 "Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, 'We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.'"

* 2 Timothy 3:12 "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution."

* 1 John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour."

* 1 John 3:13 "Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you."

* 1 Peter 4:12 "Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;"

* James 1:23 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience."

In other words, since coming into the Christian Faith is coming out of the clutches and kingdom of Satan, into the Kingdom of God, therefore in this world, in this physical life, Satan will not miss any opportunity to persecute Christians, work against them and instigate people against them. Therefore, after coming into the Christian Faith, how can anyone while in this world, remain free from the worldly problems and pains, from sickness, adverse situations etc. and live a life free of problems of the world? We will continue to ponder over this topic and learn about it from the Bible in the next article. 

For now, ponder over the fact that to deliver you from sin and reconcile you with God, to live forever as a child of God, the Lord Jesus has done His part; He has made ready and available salvation with all the benefits freely to everyone; but have you accepted His offer? Have you taken His hand of love and grace extended towards you and the free gift He offers; or are you still determined to do that which no man can ever accomplish through his own efforts?

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

यीशु के मार/कोड़े खाने तथा यीशु के लहू द्वारा शारीरिक चंगाई - भाग - 2

    इस विषय पर पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि साधारण प्रयोग के समान, बाइबल में भी चंगाई शब्द का प्रयोग हमेशा ही शारीरिक चंगाई ही के लिए नहीं किया गया है, वरन आत्मिक चंगाई के लिए भी किया गया है। आज हम नए नियम से शारीरिक चंगाई के कुछ उदाहरणों को देखते हैं:

·         पौलुस, तिमुथियुस को निर्देश देता है, “भविष्य में केवल जल ही का पीने वाला न रह, पर अपने पेट के और अपने बार बार बीमार होने के कारण थोड़ा थोड़ा दाखरस भी काम में लाया कर” (1 तिमुथियुस 5:23)। प्रगट है कि तिमुथियुस को बारंबार होने वाले किसी शारीरिक रोग के कारण परेशानी होती रहती थी, और पौलुस उससे “थोड़ा थोड़ा दाखरस” औषधि के समान लेने के लिए कह रहा है – क्यों यहाँ पर पौलुस ने तिमुथियुस से प्रभु यीशु के मार/कोड़े खाने के आधार पर चंगाई की माँग/दावा करने के लिए नहीं कहा?

·         स्वयँ पौलुस के “शरीर में एक कांटा चुभाया गया” के बारे में देखें – पौलुस कहता है “और इसलिये कि मैं प्रकाशनों की बहुतायत से फूल न जाऊं, मेरे शरीर में एक कांटा चुभाया गया अर्थात शैतान का एक दूत कि मुझे घूँसे मारे ताकि मैं फूल न जाऊं। इस के विषय में मैं ने प्रभु से तीन बार बिनती की, कि मुझ से यह दूर हो जाए” (2 कुरिन्थियों 12: 7, 8)। पौलुस को इस समस्या के निवारण के लिए प्रभु से विनती क्यों करनी पड़ी; ऐसा करने के स्थान पर उसने प्रभु के मार/कोड़े खाने के आधार पर उपलब्ध चंगाई को क्यों नहीं माँग लिया? और जबकि प्रभु द्वारा विश्वास की प्रार्थना के प्रत्युत्तर में चंगाई देने के लिए पौलुस या तिमुथियुस के “विश्वास” पर तो संदेह किया ही नहीं जा सकता है!

·         हम प्रेरितों के काम में देखते हैं कि जब पतरस ने, प्रेरितों 3 में, मंदिर के प्रवेश द्वार पर बैठे जन्म के लंगड़े को चँगा किया, तो उसने लंगड़े मनुष्य से यह नहीं कहा “प्रभु यीशु के मार/कोड़े खाने तुझे चँगा किया जाता है;” वरन, “तब पतरस ने कहा, चान्दी और सोना तो मेरे पास है नहीं; परन्तु जो मेरे पास है, वह तुझे देता हूं: यीशु मसीह नासरी के नाम से चल फिर” (प्रेरितों 3:6).

क्या बाइबल में कहीं पर भी, कोई भी, एक भी ऐसा उदाहरण है जहाँ वाक्याँश “प्रभु के मार/कोड़े खाने के द्वारा तुझे चँगा किया जाता है” का शारीरिक चंगाई प्राप्त होने के लिए उल्लेख आया है? यदि नहीं, तो फिर, इस वाक्याँश का इतनी बहुतायत से प्रचार और शिक्षा में इतना प्रयोग और व्याख्या, तथा लोगों द्वारा इसे इतना सहज स्वीकार तथा ग्रहण किया जाना क्यों है? और भी अधिक महत्वपूर्ण यह है कि, लोग इतने भोले और आसानी से धोखा खाने वाले क्यों बने रहते हैं; और उन भरमाने तथा बहकाने वालों से इसके लिए परमेश्वर के वचन में से स्पष्टिकरण क्यों नहीं मांगते हैं?

सीधा और सपष्ट तथ्य यह है कि ये पद मसीह द्वारा हमारे लिए सहे गए दुखों के लिए तो है, परन्तु हमारे पापों के दुखों के लिए है, जिन्हें उसने अपने ऊपर ले लिया था। क्योंकि उसने हमारे दण्ड को अपने ऊपर ले लिया, हमारे स्थान पर उसने कोड़े खाए, हमें हमारे पापों के दण्ड से छुटकारा मिला है, और पाप के द्वारा कुचली गई हमारी आत्मा को चंगाई प्राप्त हुई है (यशायाह 61:1; लूका 4:18)। वाक्याँश “उसके मार/कोड़े खाने से हम चंगे हुए...” रोग या बीमारियों से मिली किसी शारीरिक चंगाई के लिए नहीं प्रयोग हुआ है, वरन हमारे पापों के दुष्प्रभावों से हमें मिलने वाली चंगाई के लिए प्रयोग किया गया है।

इसी प्रकार से, बाइबल में यह कहीं नहीं आया है कि यीशु का लहू हमें शारीरिक रोगों और बीमारियों से चंगा करता है। प्रभु यीशु के लहू को अन्य कई बातों के लिए प्रभावी बताया गया है – वे सभी आत्मिक हैं और प्रभु परमेश्वर के साथ हमारे संबंधों के बारे में हैं, जैसे कि – हमारा प्रायश्चित (रोमियों 3:25); हमारा धर्मी ठहरना (रोमियों 5:9); हमें परमेश्वर के निकट लाने, अर्थात उससे मेल करवाने (इफिसियों 2:13); हमारे विवेक को मरे हुए कामों से शुद्ध करने (इब्रानियों 9:14); हमें पवित्र स्थान में प्रवेश प्रदान करने के हियाव देने के लिए (इब्रानियों 10:19); हमारे छुटकारे (1 पतरस 1:18-19); पापों से शुद्ध करने (1 यूहन्ना 1:7); पापों से छुड़ाए जाने (प्रकाशितवाक्य 1:5) के लिए। परन्तु कहीं पर भी प्रभु यीशु के लहू के द्वारा किसी भी शारीरिक चंगाई होने या किए जाने का कोई उल्लेख नहीं है, और न ही कभी किसी प्रेरित या नए नियम के किसी भी लेखक ने शारीरिक चंगाई के लिए न तो “प्रभु यीशु के लहू” को प्रयोग किया है और न ही ऐसा करने की कोई शिक्षा दी है।

इसलिए लोगों को यह सिखाना कि हम बाइबल के किसी पद या अंश को, किसी ऐसे स्वरूप या उपयोग के लिए मांगे या उसका दावा करें, जो कि परमेश्वर के वचन में उसके प्रयोग या उसके संदर्भ के अनुसार नहीं है, और परमेश्वर का वचन जिसके विषय न तो कुछ सिखाता है और न ही करने के लिए कहता है, तो उसे परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार सही शिक्षा कैसे माना और स्वीकार किया जा सकता है? ऐसी सभी शिक्षाएँ और प्रयोग परमेश्वर के वचन से बाहर के हैं; वे सभी 2 तिमुथियुस 2:15 के निर्देश के अनुसार नहीं हैं, इसलिए गलत और अस्वीकार्य होने के आधार पर उनका तिरिस्कार किया जाना चाहिए।

English Translation

Physical healing by the stripes and the blood of Jesus - Part 2

 In the last article we had seen that the as in the general usage, in the Bible also, healing does not always only refer to physical healing, but spiritual healing as well. Let us consider a few examples related to physical ailments and healing from the New Testament:

·         Paul instructing Timothy says to him, “No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities” (1 Timothy 5:23). Clearly, Timothy was distressed because of some recurrent physical ailments, and Paul is asking him to use “a little wine” as a medicine – why has Paul not asked Timothy to use and claim healing on the basis of the stripes of the Lord Jesus?

·        Consider Paul’s own “thorn in the flesh” – Paul says “And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me” (2 Corinthians 12: 7, 8). Why did Paul have to plead with the Lord to deliver him from the problem of the flesh; instead, why did he simply not claim the healing made available through the stripes of the Lord? And  too when the “faith” of Paul and Timothy in the Lord and the Lord’s ability to heal in answer to prayer cannot be doubted!

·         We see in the book of Acts that when Peter, in Acts 3, healed the lame from birth person sitting at the entrance to the Temple, he did not say to the lame man “by the stripes of the Lord Jesus you are healed and made whole;” rather, “Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk"” (Acts 3:6).

Is there any instance of physical healing through applying or claiming the phrase “by the Lord’s stripes you/we have been healed” recorded anywhere in the Bible? If not then, why is such a usage and interpretation being so enthusiastically preached, taught and accepted? More importantly, why are people being so gullible and not asking the purveyors of untruth to justify their stand from God’s Word about it?

    The plain and simple fact of the matter is that surely though these verses are referring to the suffering Christ endured in our place, but for our sins, which He had taken upon Himself. Because of His taking up our punishment, His bearing those stripes for us, we have received deliverance from our sins, and also the healing that was required for our spirits broken down by sin (Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18). The phrase “By His stripes we are healed...” is not referring to any physical healing from diseases and infirmities, but to being healed from the deleterious consequences of our sins.

    Similarly, nowhere does the Bible say that the blood of Jesus heals us from physical diseases and infirmities. The blood of Jesus is said to be efficacious for many other things – all of them spiritual and related to our relationship with the Lord God, e.g. – our propitiation (Romans 3:25); our justification (Romans 5:9); bringing us near to God i.e. reconciling us to God (Ephesians 2:13); cleansing of our conscience from dead works (Hebrews 9:14) and giving us the boldness to enter the Holiest (Hebrews 10:19); our redemption (1 Peter 1:19); cleansing of our sins (1 John 1:7); washing away of our sins (Revelation 1:5). But there is no mention of any physical healing through the blood of Lord Jesus Christ, and neither have any of the Apostles or writers of the New Testament at any place claimed or taught the use of “Blood of Jesus Christ” for any healing or recovery from physical ailments.

    Therefore teaching people that we ask for or claim some portion of the Bible, out of its context and usage in God’s Word, in a manner, or, for something that the Word of God neither teaches about nor asks us to claim, can in no way be accepted as being in accordance with the teachings of God’s Word. All such teachings and applications are extraneous to God’s Word; they do not stand up to the admonition of 2 Timothy 2:15, therefore they ought to be rejected on grounds of being quite unacceptable and erroneous.

    प्रश्न: क्या प्रभु यीशु मसीह के मार/कोड़े खाने से, और लहू से हम शारीरिक रोगों से चंगाई प्राप्त करते हैं?

उत्तर:

    पवित्र शास्त्र की व्याख्या करते समय जो गलती सर्वाधिक तथा सामान्यतः की जाती है वह है बाइबल के किसी पद या खण्ड को, या पद के अंश को उसके संदर्भ के बाहर लेना; फिर उसे अपनी इच्छा या समझानुसार अर्थ प्रदान करना; और फिर उन गलत अर्थों को न केवल “परमेश्वर के सत्य’ समझकर मान लेना वरन उन्हें औरों को भी यही कहकर सिखाना; चाहे वे अर्थ संदर्भ की आवश्यकता तथा बाइबल में उस बात या शब्दों के प्रयोग के अनुसार सही न भी हों, जिससे कि फिर वे अवास्तविक एवं अस्वीकार्य हो जाते हैं। परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल, 2 तिमुथियुस 2:15 में हमें सिखाता है कि “अपने आप को परमेश्वर का ग्रहणयोग्य (न कि मनुष्यों को) और ऐसा काम करने वाला ठहराने का प्रयत्न कर, जो लज्ज़ित होने न पाए और जो सत्य के वचन को ठीक रीति से काम में लाता हो”; तथा ऐसे शिक्षकों के पीछे हो लेने के फंदे में पड़ने वाला न हो जो सही शिक्षा देने के स्थान पर लोगों को केवल वही सुनाते-सिखाते हैं जो कि वे लोग सुनना-सीखना चाहते हैं (2 तिमुथियुस 4:2-4)। शैतान द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन के दुरूपयोग के षड़यंत्र में फंसने से बचने के लिए (वह तो इतना धूर्त है कि उसने प्रभु यीशु को भी इस फंदे में फंसाने का प्रयास किया – मत्ती 4:1-11), हम सभी को 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21 “सब बातों को परखो: जो अच्छी है उसे पकड़े रहो” का ध्यान रखना और उसका पालन करना चाहिए; तथा बेरिया के मसीही विश्वासियों के समान होना चाहिए जिनकी बाइबल में इसलिए प्रशंसा हुई है क्योंकि वे पहले सभी शिक्षाओं को पवित्र शास्त्र से जांचते थे और तब ही उन पर विश्वास करते थे (प्रेरितों 17:11-12) – चाहे उन्हें सिखाने वाला पौलुस प्रेरित ही क्यों न रहा हो।

    प्रभु यीशु के मार/कोड़े खाने के द्वारा चंगाई के संदर्भ में, बाइबल के जिस पद का अकसर प्रयोग किया जाता है वह है यशायाह 53:5 “परन्तु वह हमारे ही अपराधों के कारण घायल किया गया, वह हमारे अधर्म के कामों के हेतु कुचला गया; हमारी ही शान्ति के लिये उस पर ताड़ना पड़ी कि उसके कोड़े खाने से हम चंगे हो जाएं।” पतरस ने इसी पद में से अपनी पहली पत्री में उद्धृत किया – “वह आप ही हमारे पापों को अपनी देह पर लिये हुए क्रूस पर चढ़ गया जिस से हम पापों के लिये मर कर के धामिर्कता के लिये जीवन बिताएं: उसी के मार खाने से तुम चंगे हुए” (1 पतरस 2:24)। यह काफी रोचक ‘संयोग’ है कि, इन दो पदों के अतिरिक्त (वास्तव में, केवल एक ही पद), संपूर्ण बाइबल में और कोई पद है ही नहीं जिसमें “मार/कोड़े” तथा “चंगाई” शब्द एक साथ आए हों। साथ ही, हम इन दोनों ही पदों में यह भी देखते हैं कि जिस ‘चंगाई’ की बात हो रही है वह पाप के दुष्प्रभाव से आत्मिक चंगाई है; न कि किसी रोग, बीमारी, विकार, या अन्य किसी शारीरिक व्याधि से देह की चंगाई।

    सामान्य उपयोग में, क्योंकि शब्द ‘चंगाई’ का प्रयोग मुख्यतः शारीरिक अस्वस्थताओं, तथा शरीर के रोगों के लिए होता है, इसलिए इस पर कुछ विशेष ध्यान दिए बिना, लोग बस यही मान लेते हैं कि इन पदों में भी जिस ‘चंगाई’ की बात हो रही है वह भी शारीरिक चंगाई ही है। दुर्भाग्यवश, बहुतेरे प्रचारक और शिक्षक भी यही चाहते हैं कि हम इसी गलती को मानें; इसलिए पवित्र शास्त्र के पदों को संदर्भ और वास्तविक लेख से बाहर लेकर और फिर उन पर आधारित व्याख्या करने के द्वारा वे इस गलत अर्थ और व्याख्या पर बल देते रहते हैं और उसे ही सिखाते रहते हैं। न तो वे स्वयँ व्याख्या करते समय पद के संदर्भ या खण्ड से संबंधित बातों पर ध्यान देते हैं, और न ही हमें प्रोत्साहित करते हैं कि हम किसी बात को स्वीकार करने या किसी निष्कर्ष पर आने से पहले, पूर्ण पद का अध्ययन उसके सही संदर्भ तथा संबंधित बातों में होकर करें।

    एक अन्य बहुत महत्वपूर्ण और संबंधित तथ्य जिस पर ध्यान दिया जाना चाहिए यह है कि संपूर्ण बाइबल में कहीं पर भी, वाक्याँश “उसके मार/कोड़े खाने से हम चंगे हो जाएं” तथा  “उसी के मार/कोड़े खाने से तुम चंगे हुए” का कभी भी कहीं भी किसी करिश्माई शारीरिक चंगाई के लिए प्रयोग नहीं हुआ है; किसी भी भविष्यद्वक्ता, या प्रेरित, या परमेश्वर के जन के द्वारा कभी कहीं भी नहीं – जबकि पुराने नियम में और नए नियम में करिश्माई शारीरिक चंगाइयों की घटनाओं की कोई कमी कतई नहीं है।

English Translation

Physical healing by the stripes and the blood of Jesus - Part 1

    Question: Do the stripes and the blood of Lord Jesus Christ physically heal us?

Answer:

    The most common and most often committed error in interpreting Scripture is to take a particular passage or verse, or even a portion of a verse out of its context; then give it meanings and interpretations according to one’s liking or understanding; and then not only accept those erroneous meanings but also share those misinterpretations with others as ‘God’s truths’; even though those meanings do not stand up to the requirements of the context and the evidence of Biblical usage, therefore making them unrealistic and unacceptable. God’s Word, the Bible, in 2 Timothy 2:15 exhorts us to “diligently present ourselves approved to God (not to any man)” and to “rightly divide the Word of Truth”; and not fall for the trap of following teachers who instead of teaching sound doctrine, misuse God’s Word to only teach things that the audience want to hear (2 Timothy 4:2-4). To avoid falling for Satan’s ploys to misuse God’s Word (he had the audacity to do so even with the Lord Jesus – Matthew 4:1-11), we all need to take heed and obey 1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Test all things; hold fast what is good”; and be like the Berean Christians, who have been commended in the Bible for first cross checking everything from the Scriptures and only then believing in what was taught (Acts 17:11-12) – even though it was the apostle Paul who was teaching them.

    In context of healing by the stripes of Lord Jesus, the Bible verse often stated is Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.” Peter too quoted from this verse in his first epistle – “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). Incidentally, and quite interestingly, other than these two verses (essentially, only a single verse), there is no other verse in the Bible containing the both the terms “stripes” and “healed.” Also, in both of these verses we see that the ‘healing’ being mentioned is the spiritual healing from effects of sin; and not a physical healing of the body from any disease, or sickness, or deformity, or any other physical ailment.

 Since in common usage, the word ‘healing’ is mainly associated with physical infirmities, and with ailments of the body, hence without giving it much thought, people take it for granted that the ‘healing’ mentioned in these verses is physical healing as well. Unfortunately, many preachers and teachers also would like to have us believe it to be so; therefore they continue to emphasize and teach the misinterpretation, basing it upon verse portions taken out of context and out of continuity with the actual text of the Scriptures. They neither themselves pay heed to the context and related things in interpreting the verse or passage, nor encourage and allow us to study the context and related things of the complete verse and its passage, before accepting or coming to a conclusion about it.

    Another very pertinent fact to be considered is that nowhere in the whole of the Bible, have either of the phrases “by His stripes we are healed” and “by whose stripes you were healed” ever been used or alluded to in any form of miraculous healing, by any Prophet, Apostle, or Man of God – and there is no dearth of instances of physical healings in either the Old or the New Testaments.

    पिछले 4 लेखों में हम प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास द्वारा मिलने वाली पापों की क्षमा, उद्धार, और नया जन्म पाने से संबंधित कुछ महत्वपूर्ण और सामान्यतः पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्नों को देखते आ रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि एक मसीही विश्वासी भी, उद्धार पाने के बावजूद, पाप कर सकता है, और करता भी है। किन्तु साथ ही उसे उस पाप से निकालने और आगे बढ़ने के लिए परमेश्वर की सहायता भी उपलब्ध रहती है; और यदि कोई व्यक्ति लापरवाही से जीने और पाप करते चले जाने के लिए परमेश्वर की इस सहायता एवं उदारता का दुरुपयोग करने का प्रयास करता है, तो फिर उसे परमेश्वर की ताड़ना का भी सामना करना पड़ता है, और साथ ही स्वर्ग में उसे मिलने वाले प्रतिफलों की भी हानि होती है। अर्थात, न तो पाप को और न ही उद्धार के अनन्तकालीन होने को लापरवाही से लिया जा सकता है; क्योंकि चाहे उद्धार न भी जाए किन्तु देर-सवेर पाप करते रहने वाले व्यक्ति को पाप के दुष्परिणामों को भुगतना ही पड़ेगा, इस संसार में भी और परलोक में भी। आज इसी शृंखला में हम एक और महत्वपूर्ण प्रश्न को देखेंगे:

प्रश्न: क्या उद्धार पा लेने, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का शिष्य बन जाने से व्यक्ति संसार के दुख-तकलीफों, बीमारियों, समस्याओं, आदि से मुक्त हो जाता है, और सांसारिक समस्याओं से निश्चिंत होकर जीवन जीने लगता है?

    उत्तर: यद्यपि बहुत से लोग अपने सुसमाचार प्रचार में इस बात का आश्वासन देते हैं, किन्तु, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में ऐसा कोई आश्वासन नहीं दिया गया है; और न ही प्रभु यीशु ने कभी अपने शिष्यों से यह कहा कि उनपर विश्वास लाने वाले को सांसारिक समस्याओं से छुटकारा मिल जाएगा, और उनका जीवन सुख एवं समृद्धि से भर जाएगा। जो भी इस प्रकार की शिक्षा या प्रचार के साथ उद्धार का सुसमाचार सुनाते हैं, वे गलत प्रचार करते हैं, लोगों को ऐसा आश्वासन देते हैं जिसका बाइबल में कोई समर्थन नहीं है, और पापों के परिणामों की गंभीरता तथा प्रभु यीशु द्वारा उपलब्ध करवाए गए पापों के समाधान की महानता के आधार पर नहीं, वरन सांसारिक बातों के लालच में लाकर लोगों को प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर आकर्षित करने और उनका अनुसरण करवाने के प्रयास करते हैं। 

    जब प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों को उनकी पहली प्रचार सेवकाई के लिए भेजा था (मत्ती 10 अध्याय), तब ही उन्हें उन कठिन और दुखदायी परिस्थितियों के लिए आगाह कर दिया था जिनका उन्हें इस सेवकाई के निर्वाह में सामना करना होगा:

• वे पकड़े जाएंगे और दण्ड के लिए अधिकारियों के सामने खड़े किए जाएंगे (10:16-20)

• उनके अपने घर के लोग और निकट संबंधी उनके शत्रु हो जाएंगे (10:21)

• उन्हें लोगों के बैर का सामना करना पड़ेगा (10:22)

• उन्हें इस बैर और सताव से बचने के लिए एक से दूसरे स्थान पर भागना पड़ेगा (10:23)

    प्रभु ने यह भी कहा कि जो उनका शिष्य बनना चाहता है उसे प्रतिदिन अपना क्रूस उठाकर उसके पीछे चलने को तैयार रहना चाहिए “उसने सब से कहा, यदि कोई मेरे पीछे आना चाहे, तो अपने आप से इनकार करे और प्रति दिन अपना क्रूस उठाए हुए मेरे पीछे हो ले” (लूका 9:23)। उन दिनों में क्रूस उठाकर वह व्यक्ति जाता था जिसे मृत्यु-दण्ड दिया गया है, और देखने वाले उसे देख कर समझ जाते थे कि यह अपराधी है, और अब यह नहीं, इसकी लाश ही लौटेगी। प्रभु का शिष्यों से प्रतिदिन क्रूस उठकर उसके पीछे चलने का निर्णय लेने से अभिप्राय था, प्रतिदिन उसके शिष्य होने के कारण सताए जाने और मारे जाने के लिए तैयार रहना। अपने पकड़वाए जाने से पहले भी प्रभु यीशु ने शिष्यों को सचेत किया, “वे तुम्हें आराधनालयों में से निकाल देंगे, वरन वह समय आता है, कि जो कोई तुम्हें मार डालेगा वह समझेगा कि मैं परमेश्वर की सेवा करता हूं” (यूहन्ना 16:2)। तो फिर प्रभु की इन शिक्षाओं के समक्ष कोई यह कैसे दावा कर सकता है कि प्रभु यीशु की शिष्यता का जीवन समस्याओं तथा परेशानियों से मुक्त एक आराम और सुरक्षा का जीवन होगा?

    बाद में प्रभु के शिष्यों ने भी मसीही विश्वास के जीवन के विषय इन्हीं बातों को दोहराया:

• प्रेरितों 14:22 और चेलों के मन को स्थिर करते रहे और यह उपदेश देते थे, कि हमें बड़े क्लेश उठा कर परमेश्वर के राज्य में प्रवेश करना होगा।

• 2 तीमुथियुस 3:12 पर जितने मसीह यीशु में भक्ति के साथ जीवन बिताना चाहते हैं वे सब सताए जाएंगे।

• 1 यूहन्ना 2:18 हे लड़कों, यह अन्तिम समय है, और जैसा तुम ने सुना है, कि मसीह का विरोधी आने वाला है, उसके अनुसार अब भी बहुत से मसीह के विरोधी उठे हैं; इस से हम जानते हैं, कि यह अन्तिम समय है।

• 1 यूहन्ना 3:13 हे भाइयों, यदि संसार तुम से बैर करता है तो अचम्भा न करना।

• 1 पतरस 4:12 हे प्रियो, जो दुख रूपी अग्नि तुम्हारे परखने के लिये तुम में भड़की है, इस से यह समझ कर अचम्भा न करो कि कोई अनोखी बात तुम पर बीत रही है।

• याकूब 1:2-3 हे मेरे भाइयों, जब तुम नाना प्रकार की परीक्षाओं में पड़ो तो इसको पूरे आनन्द की बात समझो, यह जान कर, कि तुम्हारे विश्वास के परखे जाने से धीरज उत्पन्न होता है।

    और भी अनेकों पद हैं जो यह दिखाते हैं कि मसीही जीवन संघर्ष का और संसार के लोगों के बैर और विरोध का निरंतर सामना करते रहने का जीवन है; और जो भी प्रभु यीशु के पीछे चलना चाहता है, उसे यह सब सहने के लिए तैयार रहना चाहिए। किन्तु साथ ही प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को यह परमेश्वर से आश्वासन भी है कि उसकी प्रत्येक परिस्थिति में प्रभु उसके साथ होगा, उसे समझ, शक्ति, और शांति देगा कि वह उन परिस्थितियों का सामना कर सके “मैं ने ये बातें तुम से इसलिये कही हैं, कि तुम्हें मुझ में शान्ति मिले; संसार में तुम्हें क्लेश होता है, परन्तु ढाढ़स बांधो, मैं ने संसार को जीत लिया है” (यूहन्ना 16:33), और उसे उन सब में से भी सुरक्षित निकाल कर लाएगा, और अंततः सब बातें मिलकर प्रभु के जन के लिए भलाई ही को उत्पन्न करेंगी “और हम जानते हैं, कि जो लोग परमेश्वर से प्रेम रखते हैं, उन के लिये सब बातें मिलकर भलाई ही को उत्पन्न करती है; अर्थात उन्हीं के लिये जो उस की इच्छा के अनुसार बुलाए हुए हैं” (रोमियों 8:28)। 

    पूरा नया नियम इस बात का गवाह है कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह के शिष्यों को हर स्थान पर, अपनी सारी सेवकाई के दिनों में बहुत से दुखों, क्लेशों, और सताव का सामना करना पड़ा है। जीवन कभी भी उनके लिए सहज और सरल नहीं रहा; वरन जिनके मध्य में होकर उन्होंने प्रभु की सेवकाई की और जिन लोगों की भलाई की, उन्हीं में से उनके बैरियों-विरोधियों ने निकलकर उनके लिए बहुत परेशानियाँ उत्पन्न कीं। किन्तु फिर भी जिसने एक बार प्रभु के प्रेम, कृपा, अनुग्रह, और उद्धार के स्वाद को चख लिया, एक बार जिसने प्रभु की शान्ति और आशीष को अपने जीवन में तमाम कठिनाइयों और मुसीबतों के मध्य में अनुभव कर लिया, जिसने एक बार प्रभु यीशु मसीह की वास्तविकता और खराई को पहचान लिया, फिर संसार के ये क्लेश उसके लिए निराश का नहीं, वरन उस अद्भुत, उत्तम स्वर्गीय आशा का प्रमाण बन गए, जो परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए रखी हुई है, और उस उत्तम आशीष की लालसा रखते हुए वे इन सभी बातों को सहर्ष सहन कर लेते हैं “क्योंकि हमारा पल भर का हल्का सा क्लेश हमारे लिये बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण और अनन्त महिमा उत्पन्न करता जाता है। और हम तो देखी हुई वस्तुओं को नहीं परन्तु अनदेखी वस्तुओं को देखते रहते हैं, क्योंकि देखी हुई वस्तुएं थोड़े ही दिन की हैं, परन्तु अनदेखी वस्तुएं सदा बनी रहती हैं” (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17-18)। फिर शारीरिक चंगाई का उसके लिए कोई विशेष महत्व नहीं है, क्योंकि वह व्यक्ति जानता है कि एक दिन तो शरीर ने मिटना ही है; और जो भी रोग या अस्वस्थता उसमें है, प्रभु उसमें भी उसकी सहायता करेगा, उसे आशीष देगा “और उसने मुझ से कहा, मेरा अनुग्रह तेरे लिये बहुत है; क्योंकि मेरी सामर्थ्य निर्बलता में सिद्ध होती है; इसलिये मैं बड़े आनन्द से अपनी निर्बलताओं पर घमण्ड करूंगा, कि मसीह की सामर्थ्य मुझ पर छाया करती रहे। इस कारण मैं मसीह के लिये निर्बलताओं, और निन्‍दाओं में, और दरिद्रता में, और उपद्रवों में, और संकटों में, प्रसन्न हूं; क्योंकि जब मैं निर्बल होता हूं, तभी बलवन्‍त होता हूं” (2 कुरिन्थियों 12:9-10)।

Some Related Questions and their Answers (Contd.)

    In the previous 4 articles, we have been considering some important and commonly asked questions related to Christian Faith, forgiveness of sins, salvation, and being Born-Again. In the last article we had seen that a Christian Believer despite being saved, despite being Born-Again, might still sin and does sin. But he also has the help of God to extricate him from the sin; if a person lives a careless and wayward life, and misuses God’s help and grace, then he has to face God’s chastening here on earth and suffer loss of his heavenly rewards for his eternal life. This means that neither salvation being eternal, nor committing sin by a saved person can be taken lightly; because even if salvation is not lost, the person persisting in sin will have to face the harmful effects of sin, in this life as well as the next. Today in this series, we will look at one more important question: 

Question:  By being saved and Born-Again, and becoming a disciple of Lord Jesus Christ, is a person delivered from the worldly problems and pains, from sickness, adverse situations etc. and begins to live a life free of problems of the world?

Answer: Although many people while preaching the Gospel, give an assurance about this, but in God’s Word the Bible, there is no such assurance given, and neither did the Lord Jesus ever say to His disciples that those who believe on Him will be delivered from the problems of this world, and their lives will be filled with worldly joy, satisfaction, and material prosperity. Whosoever preaches any such teaching or gospel, preaches falsehood, gives an assurance to the people that is not given in the Bible. They try to entice people into being attracted towards the Lord Jesus and follow Him for worldly gains and material things, instead of showing to them the seriousness of the problem of sin and the wonderful solution prepared and made freely available by the Lord Jesus for this problem.

The Lord Jesus Christ sending His disciples for the first time for their ministry (Matthew 10), forewarned them of the difficult and painful situations they will have to face during this ministry:

• They will be taken into custody and brought before officials to be being punished (Matthew 10:16-20).

• People from their own homes and families will become their enemies (Matthew 10:21). 

• They will have to face the opposition of the people (Matthew 10:22).

• They will have to run from one place to another to escape from this opposition and persecution (Matthew 10:23).

The Lord had also said that those who wanted to be His disciples should be willing to take up their cross daily to follow Him “Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23). At the time the Lord Jesus made this statement, the Lord Himself had not yet been crucified, but His followers knew and understood that those who had been condemned to death would walk bearing their cross, and those who saw this understood that the man was a despicable criminal, and now not he but only his dead body will return. The Lord’s implication in asking His disciples to daily lift their cross was that the disciple of Christ should be ready to suffer and die for being His disciple, every day. Before His being caught for crucifixion, the Lord Jesus had cautioned His disciples, “They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service” (John 16:2). Therefore, in the face of these teachings of the Lord, how can anyone claim that becoming a disciple of Lord Jesus will ensure a life of ease and security, free from problems and adverse situations?

Later, even the disciples of the Lord Jesus re-iterated these teachings in context of leading a life of Christian Faith:

• Acts 14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, "We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God."

• 2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

• 1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the [4] Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

• 1 John 3:13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.

• 1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;

• James 1:23 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

There are many other verses that show that the Christian life is a life of struggles, of facing the opposition of the world and persecution from the worldly people; and anyone who wants to follow the Lord Jesus, should be ready to face and suffer all of this. But every Christian Believer also has this assurance from God that in every problem and situation he faces, God will be with him, give him the required wisdom, power, and peace to face those situations, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."” (John 16:33), will safely carry him through those circumstances safe and secure, and eventually all things will work together for the good of the follower of the Lord “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

The whole of the New Testament is a witness to this fact that the followers of the Lord Jesus faced a lot of pains, persecutions, and problems during their ministry and Christian service. Life was never easy or convenient for them; rather, the very people amongst whom they served the Lord and did good for them, from those very people many turned against them and created a lot of problems for them. Nevertheless, anyone who has once experienced the Lord’s love, kindness, grace, and salvation, anyone who has experienced the peace and blessings of the Lord Jesus, even in all the hardships and problems he had to face, he who has come to realize the truth and reality of the Lord Jesus Christ, for him these problems and persecutions of the world became not a cause of being despondent, but a proof of the wonderful, excellent heavenly blessings that God has kept for them; and for the hope of those blessings, they continued to suffer all of this with joy “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). For such a person, physical healing has no significance, since he knows that eventually the body will die, someday; and whatever illness or weakness he may be having, the Lord will help him through it, and bless him because of it “And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). 

No Christian Believer should get perturbed about these circumstances and situations, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So, we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"” (Hebrews 13:5-6). Moreover, the Lord has also assured His disciples that He will never allow them to be tempted beyond their limits “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). Satan and his people will make many attempts and efforts to discourage us and make us fail and fall, to become weak and distracted in our faith, to doubt the Lord and His Word. But do not get carried away by the things being spread by Satan, but make full use of opportunity you have to utilize the Lord’s love, kindness, grace, and offer of forgiveness of sins being extended to you. The Lord Jesus has done His part; He has made ready and available salvation with all the benefits freely to everyone; but have you accepted His offer? Have you taken His hand of love and grace extended towards you and the free gift He offers; or are you still determined to do that which no man can ever accomplish through his own efforts?

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heart-felt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company, wants to see you blessed; but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
