पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना – 25

प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसके उद्धार के समय से ही परमेश्वर द्वारा उसका पवित्र आत्मा दे दिया जाता है, और वह उसमें आजीवन निवास करता है। पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी का सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है, ताकि मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई को ठीक से निर्वाह करने में विश्वासियों की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करे। पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी का शिक्षक भी है, उसे परमेश्वर का वचन तथा अन्य बातें सिखाने के लिए, और जिन विभिन्न परिस्थितियों का वह सामना करता है, उनमें उसकी सहायता करने, उसे सिखाने, और उसका मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए। इसलिए, पवित्र आत्मा के गुणों और सामर्थ्य का सदुपयोग करने और उसके प्रति सही और उचित व्यवहार रखने के लिये प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसका योग्य भण्डारी होना है, अर्थात् उसके प्रति ज़िम्मेदार और जवाबदेह रहना है। यद्यपि, जैसा हम सम्पूर्ण पवित्रशास्त्र में, और मसीही विश्वास के इतिहास में देखते हैं, परमेश्वर का स्थापित तरीका है कि वह अपने कुछ नियुक्त समर्पित और आज्ञाकारी लोगों में होकर अपनी बातें सभी लोगों तक पहुँचाता है, लोगों को सिखाता है। परन्तु, क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध नहीं है, सभी से चूक होती है, इसलिये सभी में अपनी ही समझ और धारणाओं को वचन में डाल देने की प्रवृत्ति होती है, इसलिये परमेश्वर ने किसी भी व्यक्ति में अन्ध-विश्वास रखना वर्जित किया है। परमेश्वर ने यह अनिवार्य किया है कि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी प्रत्येक मनुष्य की कही हुई बातों को वचन के आधार पर बारीकी से जाँच-परख करने, पुष्टि करने के बाद ही स्वीकार करे - और परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा यह करने में उनकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करता है, यदि लोग उसके प्रति संवेदनशील रहें, उसकी सुनने और मानने के लिये तैयार हों। अर्थात् मसीही विश्वासियों को प्राथमिक रीति से पवित्र आत्मा से ही सीखना चाहिये, न कि मनुष्यों और उनकी रचनाओं से सीखने पर निर्भर होने के; क्योंकि ऐसा करने से वह गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ जाने के जोखिम में रहता है।

वर्तमान में हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं; और इस खण्ड के पद 13 पर विचार कर रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि यह हमेशा से ही परमेश्वर का तरीका रहा है कि उसका वचन उसके लोगों तक बिना उस में कोई मिलावट किए, उसी स्वरूप और उन्हीं शब्दों में पहुँचाया जाए, जैसा उसने अपने प्रतिनिधियों को अपने लोगों तक पहुँचाने के लिए दिया है। हमने पुराने नियम के इस तथ्य के कुछ उदाहरण देखे थे; और यह भी कि परमेश्वर के लोग अपने जीवनों में तब ही सफल और जयवंत रहे जब उन्होंने परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन किया। आज हम पद 13 के इस वाक्यांश, “आत्मिक बातें आत्मिक बातों से मिला मिला कर सुनाते हैं” को आगे देखेंगे, और समझेंगे कि परमेश्वर किस तरह से चाहता है कि उसका वचन उन्हीं बातों की सहायता से ही समझा और सीखा जाए जो उसने अपने वचन में पहले से ही दे दी हैं, न कि किसी मानवीय बात, बुद्धि, या समझ के द्वारा गढ़ी गई बातों के द्वारा।

परमेश्वर का अपने वचन को सिखाने का दिया गया तरीका है “ नियम पर नियम, नियम पर नियम थोड़ा यहां, थोड़ा वहां” (यशायाह 28:10; यशायाह 28:9-13 देखिए)। दूसरे शब्दों में, परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने के लिए, परमेश्वर के लोगों को प्राथमिक रीति से परमेश्वर के वचन में अन्य स्थानों पर दिए गए उस के नियम, अर्थात, उसके दिए हुए सिद्धान्त, निर्देश, और शिक्षाओं को उपयोग करना चाहिये। यह परमेश्वर के वचन से संबंधित एक अन्य सिद्धान्त, जिसे हम पहले देख चुके हैं, के साथ भी सहमत है – परमेश्वर का वचन पूर्ण और सिद्ध है (भजन 119:89,160); और जीवन और भक्ति से, तथा संसार की बुराइयों से बचने तथा ईश्वरीय स्वभाव के सम्भागी बनने से सम्बन्धित सभी बातें परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में पहले से ही दे दी हैं (2 पतरस 1:3-4)। इसीलिये परमेश्वर उस वचन में कोई नई बात, कोई नए प्रकाशन नहीं जोड़ता है; और वचन को समझाने और स्पष्ट करने के लिए जो दे दिया गया है, वह पर्याप्त है। 

यह प्रश्न उठाया जा सकता है कि सैकड़ों और हज़ारों वर्ष पहले लिखी गई बातें, वर्तमान जीवन से सम्बन्धित बातों, समस्याओं, और परिस्थितियों का समाधान कैसे हो सकती हैं? इसका उत्तर है कि परमेश्वर के वचन में बहुत सारी बातें सदा उपयोगी और प्रासंगिक रहने वाले सिद्धान्तों के रूप में दी गई हैं, जिनका महत्व और उपयोगिता हर समय, स्थान, व्यक्तियों और सभ्यताओं में हमेशा समान ही रहता है। बाइबल के कुछ खण्डों पर विचार कीजिए, जैसे कि, निर्गमन 20:1-17 (दस आज्ञाएँ); व्यवस्थाविवरण 5:29; मत्ती 6:24-34; मरकुस 7:14-15, 18-23; 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:31; कुलुस्सियों 3:1-2; 1 पतरस 1:1-2. इन्हें पढ़ें और स्वयं ही देख लें कि ये, और इनके समान पवित्रशास्त्र के अनेकों अन्य खण्ड, आज भी उतने ही सत्य और प्रासंगिक हैं, जीतने वे तब थे जब लिखे गये थे।  आज भी इनका पालन करना वैसी ही आशीष और उन्नति लाएगा, जैसी कि हमेशा ही इनका पालन करने वालों के जीवनों में लाता रहा है। 

साथ ही, जैसा हम ने पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन को सिखाने के बारे में देखा है, वह भी हमें जो पवित्रशास्त्र में कह दिया गया है उसे ही स्मरण करवाता है, तथा परिस्थिति के अनुसार दिये गये वचन की बातों में से ही लेकर हमारे सामने लाता है; अपनी ओर से कुछ भी नया नहीं बोलता है। इसीलिए, परमेश्वर का वचन, वचन के अन्य भागों के उपयोग से ही सबसे उत्तम रीति से सीखा और समझा जाता है। पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन में वचन के विभिन्न भागों को एक दूसरे के साथ मिलाकर देखना चाहिए, एक के साथ अन्य संबंधित भागों को जोड़कर पूरे चित्र को बनाना चाहिए, जिस से सही समझ प्राप्त हो सके। 

यही, पद 13 के  “आत्मिक बातें आत्मिक बातों से मिला मिला कर सुनाते हैं”” का अर्थ है। 

इस प्रकार से, पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन में, परमेश्वर का वचन, उसी वचन की सहायता से समझाया, स्पष्ट किया, और सिखाया जाता है। कोई भी मानवीय विचार, बुद्धि, या समझ कभी भी परमेश्वर के वचन को उस तरह से नहीं सीखा या समझा सकता है जिस तरह से पवित्र आत्मा कर सकता है, परमेश्वर के वचन के एक भाग अन्य को लेकर उसके द्वारा वचन के किसी अन्य भाग को समझा देना। मनुष्य के तरीके, बातें, और शिक्षाएँ बहुत आकर्षक और मनोहर प्रतीत हो सकते हैं, वे कुछ समय के लिए हमें रोमांचित और प्रसन्न भी कर सकते हैं, लेकिन साथ ही वे परमेश्वर के शुद्ध वचन में मिलावट भी कर देते हैं। वे पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने का विकल्प कभी भी नहीं हो सकते हैं, और न ही वे हमारे जीवनों में, और फिर हम में होकर औरों के जीवनों में वैसे प्रभाव ला सकते हैं जैसे पवित्र आत्मा की शिक्षाओं से आते हैं। कलीसियाओं में कम होती जा रही सदस्यों और लोगों की सँख्या, मसीहियों में वचन को सीखने की रुचि न होना, और मसीही आराधना का बिगड़ कर परंपरा पूरी करने के लिए औपचारिक निर्वाह करना मात्र बन जाना, आदि बातें पवित्र आत्मा के अनुसार नहीं, बल्कि मनुष्य के विचारों और विधियों के अनुसार वचन सिखाने के परिणाम हैं।

जैसा कि हमने पिछले लेख के उदाहरणों में देखा था, पुराने नियम के नबी परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें दिए गए वचन में अपने विचार, बुद्धि, समझ नहीं मिलाते थे, बल्कि जैसा उन्हें दिया जाता था, उसे वैसा ही बोलते थे, चाहे उन्हें वह समझ में भी न आ रहा हो (दानिय्येल 12:8-9; 1 पतरस 1:10-11)। जो वे कह रहे थे, उसे समझ न पाने ने उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन में संशोधन और परिवर्तन कर के उसे सहज बनाने का अधिकार अथवा औचित्य प्रदान नहीं किया था। प्रभु यीशु मसीह के शिष्यों को भी प्रभु द्वारा कही गई कई बातें समझ में नहीं आती थीं, लेकिन वे बाद में उन्हें समझ में आने लगीं (मत्ती 15:16; मरकुस 9:32; लूका 9:45; 18:34; यूहन्ना 10:6; 12:16)। शिष्यों ने प्रभु से कहा कि उन्हें उन बातों को जिन्हें वे समझ नहीं पा रहे थे, समझा दे; किन्तु उन्होंने कभी यह नहीं कहा कि उन्हें बदल दे या उनके स्थान पर कुछ अन्य बात रख दे; उन के द्वारा प्रभु की उन बातों में अपनी समझ के अनुसार कुछ भी जोड़ने-घटाने की तो बात ही दूर है। 

परमेश्वर के प्रतिनिधि का का कार्य है परमेश्वर द्वारा दिये गए वचन को लोगों तक पहुँचाना, जैसा वह परमेश्वर के द्वारा दिया गया है; उन्हें उसमें कोई सम्पादन करने या उसे समझने में सहज अथवा स्वीकार्य बनाने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है। परमेश्वर के शब्दों को समझाना और सिखाना, पवित्र आत्मा का कार्य है, और किसी भी मनुष्य को पवित्र आत्मा के कार्य-क्षेत्र में दखल नहीं देना चाहिए। चाहे वह आकर्षक अथवा सरलता से समझ में आने वाला हो या न हो, परमेश्वर के वचन में मनुष्य के विचारों, बुद्धि, और समझ की बातों द्वारा कोई मिलावट नहीं की जानी है। आत्मिक बातें, आत्मिक बातों के साथ ही मिला-मिला कर सिखाई जानी चाहिएँ, न कि साँसारिक अथवा मानवीय बातों के साथ। यह एक बार फिर से हमारे लिए 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 में पौलुस की बात – लिखित वचन से आगे नहीं बढ़ना पर बल देता है। अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे और पद 14 को देखेंगे।   

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 25

God has given His Holy Spirit to every Born-Again Christian Believer, to reside in him lifelong from the moment of his salvation. The Holy Spirit has been given to be the Believer’s Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide to help them live their Christian life and fulfil their God assigned ministry. The Holy Spirit is also the Believer’s Teacher of God’s Word and other things; helping, teaching, and guiding him in the various situations he faces. Therefore, to worthily utilize His attributes and to keep a proper attitude towards Him, every Christian Believer must be a worthy steward of the Holy Spirit, i.e., must remain responsible towards Him, accountable to Him. Although, as we see throughout the Scriptures and in the history of the Christian Faith, God’s established method is that He appoints some of his committed and obedient people to convey His message to the people, and teach them. But, since no person is perfect, everyone is imperfect, all have the tendency to add things according to their own understanding and concepts, therefore, God has also forbidden having a blind faith in any person. God has made it mandatory that every Christian Believer must examine and minutely evaluate everything said and taught by men on the basis of God’s Word; and if found correct, if confirmed, only then to accept it - and God the Holy Spirit helps and guides them in doing this, if people are sensitive to Him, are willing to listen and obey Him. In other words, the Believers must primarily learn from the Holy Spirit, instead of relying upon learning from men and their works, since that makes them prone to falling into erroneous teachings.

Presently we are learning from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, about learning from the Holy Spirit; and are considering verse 13 of this passage. In the last article, we have seen from the third phrase of verse 13 that it has always been God’s method that His Word be brought to His people unadulterated, in the form and words that He has conveyed to His spokesmen, for passing on to His people. We have seen some Old Testament examples of this fact; and that God’s people have been successful and victorious in their lives only when they have followed His Word. Today we will continue further in considering this phrase of verse 13, “comparing spiritual things with spiritual,” and understand how God wants that His Word be learnt not through things created from human thoughts, wisdom, and understanding but from what He has already stated in His Word.

God’s stated method of His teaching His Word is “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little” (Isaiah 28:10; see Isaiah 28:9-13). In other words, to learn God’s Word, God’s people must primarily use God’s precepts, i.e., principles, instructions, teachings, etc. already given at other places in His Word. This is also in conformity with another principle related to God’s Word, that we have seen earlier – God’s Word is complete and perfect (Psalm 119:89,160); and all things pertaining to life and godliness, to escaping the corruption of this world and becoming partakers of heavenly nature, God has already given in His Word (2 Peter 1:3-4). Therefore, God does not add any new revelations or teachings to it; and the things already given are sufficient to explain or clarify all things. 

One may raise a point that how can things written hundreds and thousands of years ago address and answer things, problems and situations arising from present day life? The answer is that many things in God’s Word have been given as universally applicable principles that remain relevant across time, place, persons and civilizations. Consider passages like Exodus 20:1-17 (The Ten Commandments); Deuteronomy 5:29; Matthew 6:24-34; Mark 7:14-15, 18-23; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:1-2; 1 Peter 1:1-2. Read them and see for yourselves, these and many others like them throughout the Scriptures, are just as true and relevant today, as they were when they were first written. Obeying them will bring the same blessings and edification as they have always brought to those who have obeyed them. 

Also, as we have seen about the Holy Spirit teaching God’s Word, He does so by reminding about what has already been spoken in the Scriptures, and by taking from what has already been given and declaring that to us as per the situation we have at hand; He never says anything new on His authority. Therefore, God’s Word is best learnt by utilizing its other portions. Under the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit these related portions must be seen along with other parts, comparing and compiling one with another, bit by bit, to develop the complete picture and come to a proper understanding. 

This is what “comparing spiritual things with spiritual,” stated in verse 13 means. 

Thus, the Word of God is best explained, clarified, and learnt with the help of the Word of God itself, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. No human thought, wisdom, understanding can ever clarify and teach God’s Word in the manner the Holy Spirit can, through showing how to utilize a portion of God’s Word to clarify and explain some other portion. Man’s methods, ways, and teachings may appear very attractive and appealing, they may exhilarate and please us for a time, but they can also adulterate God’s Word. They can never be a substitute for learning from the Holy Spirit, nor can they bring the same effect as the Holy Spirit’s teachings bring in our lives, and then through us in other’s lives. The dwindling attendances in Churches, the lack of interest in learning God’s Word amongst the congregations, and Christian worship having become a ritualistic formality, etc. are all glaring evidences of the effects of preaching and teaching according to man’s ways and methods, instead of preaching and teaching the true Word of God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

As we have seen from the examples in the previous article, the Old Testament prophets did not add their own thoughts, wisdom, and understanding to the words that God had given them, but spoke them out as they received them, even though they might not have understood what they were saying (Daniel 12:8-9; 1 Peter 1:10-11). Their inability to understand what they were saying did not give them the reason or authority to alter and edit God’s Word to try to make it easier to understand and obey. Even the Lord’s disciples did not understand many things that the Lord said to them, but they became apparent to them later (Matthew 15:16; Mark 9:32; Luke 9:45; 18:34; John 10:6; 12:16). The disciples asked the Lord to explain to them the things they did not understand, but never asked for them to be changed or replaced; let alone take it upon themselves to add things to it according to their own understanding. 

The job of God’s spokesman is to speak out God’s Word, as is given to them; they are not to edit and alter it to make it easier to understand or more palatable. It is the Holy Spirit’s work to teach and make those words understandable; and no man should venture into the Holy Spirit’s domain. Whether or not it is attractive and easily understandable, God’s Word is not to be adulterated with man’s thoughts, wisdom, and understanding. Spiritual things must be preached and taught by comparing with other spiritual things, not with worldly or human things. This once again emphasizes to us Paul’s assertion in 1 Corinthians 4:6, of not going beyond the written Word. In the next article, we will carry on from here, and will look at verse 14.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    अभी तक हमने इस श्रृंखला में देखा है कि मसीही विश्वासियों और कलीसिया की आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी एवं उन्नति के लिए, उन्हें बाइबल से भली-भान्ति अवगत होना अनिवार्य है। बाइबल की जिन शिक्षाओं को सीखना, जानना, और आगे दूसरों को पहुँचाना अनिवार्य है, उनमें से एक प्रकार की शिक्षाएँ, सुसमाचार से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएँ हैं; अर्थात, यह सीखना कि बाइबल के अनुसार वास्तव में सुसमाचार क्या है और पश्चाताप तथा सुसमाचार में विश्वास करने से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाएँ क्या हैं। किसी व्यक्ति के द्वारा प्रदर्शित किया जा रहा मन-फिराव या पश्चाताप सच्चा और वास्तविक भी हो सकता है, और झूठा तथा सँसार या लोगों को दिखाने मात्र के लिए ढोंग भी हो सकता है। इन सच्चे और झूठे मन-फिराव के मध्य अन्तर, उस मन-फिराव के द्वारा लाए गए प्रभावों के द्वारा होता है; सच्चे पश्चाताप के साथ जीवन में परिवर्तन, परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रति निरन्तर बना रहने और बढ़ते जाने वाला प्रेम, तथा औरों तक भी मन-फिराव के सन्देश को पहुँचाना जुड़े हुए होते हैं, जो दिखावटी पश्चाताप के साथ नहीं होते। हाल के लेखों में हम सच्चे मन-फिराव के साथ व्यक्ति के जीवन में आने वाले परिवर्तनों के विभिन्न पक्षों को देख रहे हैं; और पिछले लेख में हमने रोमियों 12:1-2 से इसके बारे में देखा था। आज हम देखेंगे कि यह परिवर्तन किस लिए है, अर्थात, क्यों परमेश्वर इतनी दृढ़ता से इस परिवर्तन को पश्चाताप करने वालों तथा सुसमाचार पर विश्वास करने वालों के जीवन में देखना चाहता है।

    हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है कि यह परिवर्तन स्वेच्छा से  होना चाहिए, पश्चातापी व्यक्ति को स्वेच्छा से अपने आप को प्रभु  के सम्मुख “जीवता बलिदान” अर्पित करना चाहिए। जब वह ऐसा करता है, परमेश्वर उसकी बुद्धि को नया कर देता है; और एक बार फिर, अब यह उस व्यक्ति की ज़िम्मेदारी हो जाती है कि वह इस नई बुद्धि के द्वारा अपने जीवन और व्यवहार में परिवर्तन ला कर दिखाए। प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के अन्दर निवास करने वाला परमेश्वर का पवित्र आत्मा, इसमें उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करता है, यदि वह व्यक्ति पवित्र आत्मा के कहे हुए को मानता रहता है, न कि शरीर और सँसार की लालसाओं में बना रहता है (गलतियों 5:16-25; इफिसियों 4:22-24)। जैसा कि पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:14-17 में कहा है, परमेश्वर के दृष्टिकोण से प्रत्येक नया जन्म पाया हुआ व्यक्ति अपने पुराने रूप से केवल साफ़-सफाई किया गया जन नहीं होता है। वह ठोक-पीट कर, काट-छांट कर, मरम्मत किया हुआ और रंग-रोगन लगाकर चमकाया गया व्यक्ति नहीं है; बल्कि पुरानी सारी बातें बीत गई हैं, वह परमेश्वर की एक पूर्णतः नई सृष्टि है; और इस नए बनाए जाने को उसे प्रत्यक्ष दिखाना है। परमेश्वर ने ऐसा एक उद्देश्य के अन्तर्गत किया है – ताकि नया-जन्म पाया हुआ जन अब केवल अपने ही लिए न जिए, वरन अपने छुड़ाने वाले के लिए जीए। एक बार फिर से हम देखते हैं कि यह इच्छा, अपने छुड़ाने वाले के लिए जीवन जीने की लालसा रखने का यह परिवर्तन, उस पश्चातापी व्यक्ति द्वारा स्वेच्छा से ही आरम्भ होना है, उसी को इसकी पहल करनी है – परमेश्वर यह परिवर्तन होता हुआ देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे आरम्भ उस व्यक्ति को करना है।

    व्यक्ति में इस परिवर्तन को होता हुआ देखने के पीछे परमेश्वर के दो उद्देश्य हैं। पहला, जिस से अधिकाँश परिचित हैं, अर्थात, क्योंकि इससे परमेश्वर की महिमा होती है – यह मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन का उद्देश्य होना चाहिए कि वह अपने जीवन से परमेश्वर को महिमा दे। पौलुस ने कुरिन्थुस की मंडली को लिखी अपनी पहली पत्री में इस बात पर जोर दिया, जब उसने लिखा कि “क्या तुम नहीं जानते, कि तुम्हारी देह पवित्रात्मा का मन्दिर है; जो तुम में बसा हुआ है और तुम्हें परमेश्वर की ओर से मिला है, और तुम अपने नहीं हो? क्योंकि दाम देकर मोल लिये गए हो, इसलिये अपनी देह के द्वारा परमेश्वर की महिमा करो” (1 कुरिन्थियों 6:19-20)। और अधिकाँश विश्वासी सोचते हैं बस यही, इतनी ही बात है, और कुछ नहीं – उन्हें एक बदला हुआ जीवन इस लिए जीना है ताकि परमेश्वर को महिमा मिले। और यद्यपि यह सामान्यतः बोला या व्यक्त तो नहीं किया जाता है, लेकिन अधिकाँश लोगों को यह करना कुछ विशेष आकर्षक प्रतीत नहीं होता है – कि उन्हें अपने में एक भारी परिवर्तन लाना है, परिवर्तन की उस प्रक्रिया से होकर निकलना है, बहुत सारी बातों को छोड़ देना है, और इस सब के बाद, अन्त में उन्हें नहीं, वरन परमेश्वर को सारी महिमा मिलेगी! इससे बहुतेरों में परिवर्तन को लेकर उत्साह ठण्डा पड़ जाता है, क्योंकि यह विचार भी आता है कि इसमें मेरे लिए भी तो कुछ होना चाहिए था। और इसलिए, यह देखना कोई अनहोनी बात  नहीं है कि लोगों में इस परिवर्तन की प्रक्रिया को आरम्भ करने के लिए आगे कदम बढ़ाने में संकोच होता है, और यदि प्रक्रिया आरम्भ कर भी ली तो वे उसकी गति को बनाए रखने में ढीले पड़ जाते हैं। यदि उन्होंने इस परिवर्तन की अनिवार्यता के पीछे के परमेश्वर के दूसरे उद्देश्य को जाना और समझा होता, तो परिवर्तन को लेकर उनका सम्पूर्ण रवैया बिलकुल भिन्न होता। इस दूसरे उद्देश्य को हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 8

 

    So far in this series, we have seen that for the spiritual growth and maturity of the Christian Believers and the Church, they must get well versed in the Bible. Amongst the essential Biblical teachings that they should learn, know, and pass on to others, one kind of teachings are the teachings related to the gospel; i.e., learning what the gospel according to the Bible actually is, and teachings about repentance and believing in the gospel. Repentance exhibited by a person can be both true and heartfelt, or false just something meant to show to the world. The differentiating features between true and false repentance are the change in life that accompanies true repentance, along with the person developing and continuing in love for God’s Word and getting a desire to bring others into true repentance as well; things that are not seen with false repentance. In the recent articles we have been considering the various aspects of the change that happens in a person’s life on truly repenting; and in the last article we had seen about this from Romans 12:1-2. Today, we will see about what this change is directed at, i.e., why does God so resolutely want to see this change happen in the lives of those who repent and believe in the gospel.

    We have seen in the last article that this change has to come voluntarily, the repentant person has to voluntarily present himself as a “living sacrifice” to the Lord. When he does this, God renews his mind; and then again it is the person’ responsibility to demonstrate this renewal of the mind through a changed life and behavior. The Holy Spirit of God residing in every Born-Again Believer helps and guides him in this, provided the person continues to obey the Holy Spirit, instead of the lusts of the flesh and the world (Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:22-24). As Paul says through the Holy Spirit in 2 Corinthians 5:14-17, from God’s perspective, every Born-Again person is not merely a cleaned and brushed-up version of his former self. He is not just repaired, trimmed, dented, painted, and polished to look new, but all the old things have passed away and he is an altogether new creation of God; and this newness has to be made evident. God has done this with a purpose – so that this Born-Again person should no longer live for himself, but live for his redeemer. Once again, we see that this desire, this change of having a desire of living for His redeemer, has to begin, has to come from the repentant person himself – God does want to see it happen, but the person has to initiate it.

    There are two reasons why God wants to see this change in the person. The first many are familiar with, i.e., because it glorifies God – it must be the Believer’s purpose in life to glorify God through his life. Paul emphasized this in his first letter to the Corinthians, when he wrote, "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). And most Believers think this is all that there is to it – they are to live a changed life, so that God may be glorified. And though often unexpressed, but it does not seem to be a very appealing proposition to many – that they should radically change, they undergo this process of change, they give up on so many things, but at the end not they, but God gets all the glory! It dampens the enthusiasm for change in many, because they feel that there should have been something in it for them also. And so, it is not uncommon to see a reluctance in stepping up to start the process of change, and a tardiness in progressing through the change. Had they been aware of and understood the second reason of the necessity for this change that God wants to see in a Christian Believer’s life, their whole attitude towards the change would have been quite different. We will consider this second reason in the next article.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    मसीही विश्वासियों के द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों के भण्डारीपन के निर्वाह को सीखते हुए, पिछले लेख से हमने इन वरदानों के उपयोग के बारे में रोमियों 12 से सीखना आरम्भ किया था, और कुछ सम्बन्धित प्रारम्भिक बातों को देखा था। हमने पिछले लेख का समापन इस विचार के साथ किया था कि सबसे पहले विश्वासियों को अपनी सेवकाई के बारे में एक सही आत्मिक दृष्टिकोण विकसित करने की आवश्यकता है, क्योंकि एक शारीरिक और साँसारिक दृष्टिकोण रखते हुए आत्मिक सेवकाई कर पाना संभव नहीं है। जब हमारा दृष्टिकोण सही हो जाएगा, तब ही हम परमेश्वर के कार्य, अर्थात उसके द्वारा निर्धारित हमारी सेवकाई के बारे में सही समझ रखने पाएंगे, और उसे ठीक से पूरा करने पाएंगे। तब ही हम और हमारे कार्य परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होंगे, उसे पसन्द आएँगे, और हमारे लिए आशीष लाएंगे। इसीलिए पौलुस में होकर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा इस अध्याय, रोमियों 12, का आरंभ, इस आह्वान के साथ करता है: “इसलिये हे भाइयों, मैं तुम से परमेश्वर की दया स्मरण दिला कर बिनती करता हूं, कि अपने शरीरों को जीवित, और पवित्र, और परमेश्वर को भावता हुआ बलिदान कर के चढ़ाओ: यही तुम्हारी आत्मिक सेवा है। और इस संसार के सदृश न बनो; परन्तु तुम्हारी बुद्धि के नये हो जाने से तुम्हारा चाल-चलन भी बदलता जाए, जिस से तुम परमेश्वर की भली, और भावती, और सिद्ध इच्छा अनुभव से मालूम करते रहो” (रोमियों 12:1-2)। 

    आज हम इन दो पदों में ध्यान देने वाली कुछ बातें देखेंगे, जो परमेश्वर के लिए कार्य करने के लिए सही आत्मिक दृष्टिकोण विकसित करने के लिए आवश्यक हैं। यहाँ उल्लेख की गई बातें हैं:

• पद 1 का आरंभ मसीही विश्वासी को उसके प्रति परमेश्वर की दया का स्मरण दिलाने के साथ होता है; इसे बेहतर समझने के लिए इसे इसके संदर्भ में, इससे पहले के पदों के साथ देखिए। अध्याय 11, विशेषकर उसके अंत में, प्रभु परमेश्वर की महानता तथा सार्वभौमिकता का वर्णन, और उसकी महिमा का उल्लेख किया गया है। परमेश्वर की इस हस्ती, उसके सर्वोच्च, सर्वसामर्थी, एवं सर्वज्ञानी होने, के सामने जब मनुष्य अपनी हस्ती, अपनी पापमय और परमेश्वर के लिए अस्वीकार्य स्थिति का ध्यान करता है, तो उसे बोध होता है कि उस में ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है कि परमेश्वर उसका ध्यान करे, उस से संपर्क या व्यवहार रखे। किन्तु फिर भी परमेश्वर संसार के सभी मनुष्यों से प्रेम करता है, उन्हें अपने साथ जोड़ना चाहता है, उन्हें अपनी संतान होने का आदर देना चाहता है (यूहन्ना 1:12-13)। इसीलिए इस अध्याय और पद का आरंभिक वाक्यांश है, “इसलिये हे भाइयों, मैं तुम से परमेश्वर की दया स्मरण दिला कर बिनती करता हूं...”। तात्पर्य यह कि आत्मिक सेवकाई और आत्मिक वरदानों के सही उपयोग करने के लिए मनुष्य को अपनी किसी योग्यता अथवा शारीरिक सामर्थ्य अथवा गुण के आधार पर नहीं वरन अपनी अयोग्यता, अपनी वास्तविकता के बोध के साथ, परमेश्वर के प्रति दीन, नम्र, नतमस्तक, आज्ञाकारी, और पूर्णतः समर्पित होकर; हर बात में परमेश्वर से मिलने वाली उसकी दया, उसके अनुग्रह का ध्यान रखते और मानते हुए, कार्य करना चाहिए। यह नहीं कि मनुष्य परमेश्वर से अपनी मन-मर्ज़ी करवाने का प्रयास करने लग जाए।

• फिर पद 1 के दूसरे भाग में पवित्र आत्मा मसीही सेवक को अपने आप को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बलिदान के समान अर्पित करने को कहता है, और इस ही उसकी “आत्मिक सेवा” कहता है। यहाँ पुराने नियम से परमेश्वर की आराधना और उपासना करने, उससे क्षमा प्राप्त करने और उसे स्वीकार्य होने की विधि - परमेश्वर को निर्धारित बलिदान चढ़ाने की बात को समक्ष लाया गया है। परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई व्यवस्था में हर एक बलिदान का एक स्वरूप, एक विधि होती थी; कुछ भी मनमाना या मनुष्य की अपनी ही इच्छा, विधि, या पसन्द से किए जाने के लिए नहीं था। और बलिदान कोई भी हो, किसी भी उद्देश्य से क्यों न चढ़ाया जाए, उसे उसकी निर्धारित विधि के अनुसार ही चढ़ाना होता था। सभी बलिदानों के साथ एक बात सामान्य थी - जो वेदी पर परमेश्वर के सामने चढ़ा दिया गया, वह फिर लौट कर उस बलिदान चढ़ाने वाले मनुष्य के हाथ में वापस नहीं आता था! या तो वह चढ़ाया गया बलिदान जल कर राख हो जाता था, या फिर याजकों के उपयोग के लिए दे दिया जाता था। इसी प्रकार से जो जीवन परमेश्वर को अर्पित कर दिया गया है, उसे वापस लेकर फिर से संसार के साथ नहीं जोड़ा जा सकता है, सांसारिकता की बातों के लिए उपयोग नहीं किया जा सकता है। यदि उसे वापस लिया जा रहा है, शारीरिक लालसाओं और सांसारिक बातों के लिए उपयोग किया जा रहा है, तो इसका अर्थ है कि वह जीवन वास्तव में सही रीति से ‘बलिदान’ नहीं किया गया है - पूर्णतः परमेश्वर को समर्पित नहीं किया गया है। इसलिए वह परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी और उसकी महिमा का कारण भी नहीं होगा। साथ ही यह संसार और शरीर के साथ भी, तथा आत्मा के साथ भी निभाने की प्रवृत्ति उस व्यक्ति की “आत्मिक सेवा” भी नहीं मानी जाएगी। 

• फिर 2 पद मसीही सेवक के लिए कहता है कि उसके अंदर आया परिवर्तन, मसीही विश्वास में आने से उसकी बुद्धि के नए हो जाने का प्रमाण, उसके बदले हुए जीवन में, उसके परिवर्तित चाल-चलन और व्यवहार के द्वारा दिखाई देना चाहिए। उसके अंदर हुए परिवर्तन का यही बाहरी प्रमाण है। इसके अतिरिक्त व्यक्ति के आत्मिक या परमेश्वर का जन हो जाने, उसके अंदर परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के बस जाने का और कोई प्रमाण बाइबल में नहीं दिया गया है - मन का परिवर्तन, व्यवहार और जीवन के परिवर्तन से दिखाई देता है; न कि उछलने-कूदने, शोर मचाने, नाटकीय व्यवहार करने, और मुँह से विचित्र, तथा समझ में न आने वाली आवाज़ें निकालने के द्वारा।

• जिनके अन्दर यह परिवर्तन दिखाई देने लगता है, वे फिर परमेश्वर की इच्छा को जानने वाले भी बन जाते हैं; यह विश्वासी के जीवन में एक निरंतर होती रहने वाली, तथा और भी उन्नत होती रहने वाली प्रक्रिया है। जैसे-जैसे “बुद्धि के नये हो जाने से तुम्हारा चाल-चलन भी बदलता जाए” वैसे-वैसे व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की इच्छा को और अधिक जानता चला जाता है; और यह उस व्यक्ति के परमेश्वर के साथ बने रहने से होते चले जाने वाले अनुभवों में होकर होता है। 

     यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी होना चाहते हैं, तो उसको समर्पित और उसकी आज्ञाकारिता का जीवन भी जीना सीखिए। धार्मिक रीति-रिवाजों, कार्यों, और परंपराओं के निर्वाह से कोई परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न नहीं कर सका है (प्रेरितों 15:10; 1 पतरस 1:18-19)। परमेश्वर ने आपको उद्धार देने के साथ ही आपके लिए कुछ भले कार्य निर्धारित कर रखे हैं (इफिसियों 2:10); आपकी सहायता तथा मार्गदर्शन के लिए अपना पवित्र आत्मा आप में बसा दिया है, जो सर्वदा आपके साथ रहता है; अपना जीवता वचन आपके हाथों में दे दिया है; और आपको अपने परिवार का, अपनी कलीसिया का एक अंग बना लिया है। अब आपको परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए इन संसाधनों एवं प्रयोजनों के उचित प्रयोग के द्वारा, रोमियों 12:1-2 का पालन करना है, जिससे आप तथा आपके कार्य उसे स्वीकार्य हो सकें, और आप उसकी आशीषों के संभागी हो सकें। परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता के अतिरिक्त, उसे प्रसन्न करने, उसे आशीषें पाने का कोई अन्य मार्ग नहीं है (1 शमूएल 15:22)।

Utilizing the Gifts of the Holy Spirit – 2

 

    While learning about the stewardship of the gifts of the Holy Spirit by the Christian Believers, in the last article we had begun learning about the utilization of these gifts from Romans 12, and had seen some related preliminary considerations. We had closed the last article with the thought that the Believer’s first need to develop a correct spiritual perspective about their ministry, since it is impossible to carry out a Spiritual Ministry with a worldly and temporal attitude and perspective. Once we have the right perspective, only then can we understand God’s point-of-view about His work, i.e., our God assigned ministry, and fulfil it. It is then that we and our works will be acceptable to God, please Him and bring blessings for us. For this reason, the Holy Spirit begins this chapter, Romans 12, with the exhortation through Paul, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:1-2).

    Today we will look at the things to take note of in these two verses, to develop this correct spiritual perspective about working for God. The things mentioned here are:

• Verse 1 begins with reminding the Christian Believer about the mercy of God; to understand this better, this should be seen with the preceding verses. In chapter 11, particularly towards its end, the greatness of God and His universal power and glory have been mentioned. In comparison to this glorious and exalted stature of God, His being the supreme, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent One, when man considers his own puny, sinful, and unacceptable condition before God, then man realizes that there is nothing in him that God should pay any attention towards him, converse with him, or have anything to do with him. But still, since God loves all the people of the whole world, wants to have them all come into fellowship with Him, give everyone the honor of being His children (John 1:12-13), therefore the opening verse of this chapter is, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God…”. The implication is that for the Spiritual Ministry and proper utilization of the Spiritual gifts, man should not take pride in or rely upon his own abilities, physical power and prowess, and skills. Instead, man, being aware of his own Spiritual inabilities should come before God in an attitude of humility, submission, and obedience and should do what God instructs him to do bearing in mind God’s grace and mercy towards him, instead of trying to get God do what man wants done from Him.

• Then, in the second part of the verse, the Holy Spirit calls for the Christian Believer to offer himself as a living sacrifice to God, and calls doing this as “your reasonable service.” Here the Old Testament imagery of offering sacrifices to God for being accepted as His people, receiving forgiveness from Him, and for worshipping God has been brought to mind. In the Law given by God, there was a way for offering each kind of sacrifice, and a prescribed form of worship; nothing was arbitrary or according to any man’s decision, discretion, or preference. There was another important thing about the sacrifice being offered, whatever be the sacrifice or the nature and purpose of the sacrifice, that which once had been offered before God, would not return back into the hands of the person who was offering the sacrifice! Either it was totally burnt and turned to ashes, or it was handed over to the Priests for their use. Similarly, the life that has once been consecrated to the Lord God, surrendered for His use, cannot be taken back from Him and used again for temporal and worldly things. If it is being taken back, if it is being used again for temporal and worldly things, for physical lusts and desires, then it means that the life had not actually been “sacrificed” i.e., consecrated and surrendered to the Lord God for His use. Therefore, such a life will never be useful for the Lord God and will never glorify Him, no matter what the person may say, do, or show externally. Also, this dual utilization - for the world, body and temporal things, as well as spiritual things will not be valid or acceptable, and such service will not be considered a “spiritual service” acceptable to God.

• Then verse 2 says about the Christian worker that the change that has come within him because of his coming into the Christian Faith, should be externally and practically evident by the renewing of his mind, his changed life, his changed attitude and behavior. These are the external evidences of the inner transformation that has happened in him. Other than this no other proof of a person’s having become a Spiritual person i.e., a child of God, and the Holy Spirit having come to reside in him has been given in the Bible - a transformed heart and mind is shown and proven by a changed life and behavior; not by jumping, shouting, dramatic actions, making strange non-understandable noises etc.

• Those, in whom this transformation becomes evident, then they also become the people who start discerning the will of God; and this is a process that continually keeps carrying on and improving in the person’s life. As one is more and more “transformed by the renewing of your mind,” he starts discerning and learning the will of God more and more; and this happens through his experiences of remaining in fellowship with God.

    If you are a Christian Believer, and want to become useful for God, then learn to live a life surrendered and obedient to Him. No one can please God by fulfilling religious rituals, ceremonies, works, and festivals (Acts 15:10; 1 Peter 1:18-19). Along with giving you salvation, God has also kept some good works for you to do (Ephesians 2:10); He has placed His Holy Spirit within you for your help and guidance, who always remains with you; He has placed His Living Word in your hands; and He has made you a member of His heavenly family, and of His Body, the Church. Now for you to properly and worthily utilize these resources that God has provided you, you have to follow Romans 12:1-2, so that your works are acceptable to Him and you receive His blessings. Except for obedience to God, there is no other way of pleasing Him and being blessed by Him (1 Samuel 15:22).

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

    प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसके उद्धार के समय से ही परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा दे दिया जाता है, और वह उसमें निवास करता है। पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी का सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया गया है, ताकि मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपी गई सेवकाई को ठीक से निर्वाह करने में उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करे। पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी का शिक्षक भी है, उसे परमेश्वर का वचन तथा अन्य बातें सिखाने के लिए, और जिन विभिन्न परिस्थितियों का वह सामना करता है, उनमें उसकी सहायता करने, उसे सिखाने, और उसका मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए। इसलिए यह अनिवार्य है कि प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी पवित्र आत्मा से ही सीखे, न कि मनुष्यों और उनके कार्यों से सीखने पर निर्भर होने के, क्योंकि ऐसा करने से वह गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ जाने के जोखिम में रहता है।

    वर्तमान में हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में सीख रहे हैं; और इस खण्ड के पद 13 पर विचार कर रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि यह हमेशा से ही परमेश्वर का तरीका रहा है कि उसका वचन उसके लोगों तक बिना उस में कोई मिलावट किए, उसी स्वरूप और उन्हीं शब्दों में पहुँचाया जाए, जैसा उसने अपने प्रतिनिधियों को अपने लोगों तक पहुँचाने के लिए दिया है। हमने पुराने नियम के इस तथ्य के कुछ उदाहरण देखे थे; और यह भी कि परमेश्वर के लोग अपने जीवनों में तब ही सफल और जयवंत रहे जब उन्होंने परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन किया। आज हम पद 13 के इस वाक्यांश, “आत्मिक बातें आत्मिक बातों से मिला मिला कर सुनाते हैं” को आगे देखेंगे, और समझेंगे कि परमेश्वर किस तरह से चाहता है कि उसका वचन उसी से ही समझा और सीखा जाए जो उसने अपने वचन में पहले से ही दे दिया है, न कि किसी मानवीय बात, बुद्धि, या समझ के द्वारा।

    परमेश्वर का अपने वचन को सिखाने का दिया गया तरीका है “ नियम पर नियम, नियम पर नियम थोड़ा यहां, थोड़ा वहां” (यशायाह 28:10; यशायाह 28:9-13 देखिए)। दूसरे शब्दों में, परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने के लिए, परमेश्वर के लोगों को केवल परमेश्वर वचन में अन्य स्थानों पर दिए गए उस के नियम, अर्थात, उसके दिए हुए सिद्धान्त, निर्देश, और शिक्षाओं को ही उपयोग करना है। यह परमेश्वर के वचन से संबंधित एक अन्य सिद्धान्त, जिसे हम पहले देख चुके हैं, के साथ भी सहमत है – परमेश्वर का वचन पूर्ण और सिद्ध है; परमेश्वर उस वचन में कोई नहीं बात, कोई नए प्रकाशन नहीं जोड़ता है; इसलिए वचन को समझाने के लिए कोई नई बात, कोई नया दर्शन नहीं दिया जाएगा, जो दे दिया गया है, वह पर्याप्त है। साथ ही, जैसा हम ने पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन को सिखाने के बारे में देखा है, वह भी हमें जो कह दिया गया है उसे ही स्मरण करवाता है, तथा परिस्थिति के अनुसार वचन की बातें लेकर हमारे सामने लाता है; अपनी ओर से कुछ भी नया नहीं बोलता है। इसीलिए, परमेश्वर का वचन, वचन के अन्य भागों के उपयोग से ही सीखा और समझा जाता है। पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन में वचन के विभिन्न भागों को एक दूसरे के साथ मिलाकर देखना चाहिए, एक के साथ अन्य संबंधित भागों को जोड़कर पूरे चित्र को बनाना चाहिए, जिस से सही समझ प्राप्त हो सके।

    इस प्रकार से, पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन में, परमेश्वर का वचन, उसी वचन की सहायता से समझाया, स्पष्ट किया, और सिखाया जाता है। कोई भी मानवीय विचार, बुद्धि, या समझ कभी भी परमेश्वर के वचन को उस तरह से नहीं सीखा सकते हैं जिस तरह से पवित्र आत्मा कर सकता है, परमेश्वर के वचन के अन्य भागों को लेकर किसी अन्य भाग को समझाने के लिए। मनुष्य के तरीके, बातें, और शिक्षाएँ बहुत आकर्षक और मनोहर प्रतीत हो सकते हैं, वे कुछ समय के लिए हमें रोमांचित और प्रसन्न भी कर सकते हैं, लेकिन साथ ही वे परमेश्वर के शुद्ध वचन में मिलावट भी कर देते हैं। वे पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने का विकल्प कभी भी नहीं हो सकते हैं, और न ही वे हमारे जीवनों में, और फिर हम में होकर औरों के जीवनों में वैसे प्रभाव ला सकते हैं जैसे पवित्र आत्मा की शिक्षाओं से आते हैं। कलीसियाओं में कम होती जा रही सदस्यों और लोगों की सँख्या, मसीहियों में वचन को सीखने की रुचि न होना, और मसीही आराधना का बिगड़ कर परंपरा पूरी करने के लिए औपचारिक निर्वाह करना मात्र बन जाना, आदि बातें पवित्र आत्मा के अनुसार नहीं, बल्कि मनुष्य के विचारों और विधियों के अनुसार वचन सिखाने के परिणाम हैं।

    जैसा कि हमने पिछले लेख के उदाहरणों में देखा था, पुराने नियम के नबी परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें दिए गए वचन में अपने विचार, बुद्धि, समझ नहीं मिलाते थे, बल्कि जैसा उन्हें दिया जाता था, उसे वैसा ही बोलते थे, चाहे उन्हें वह समझ में भी न आ रहा हो (दानिय्येल 12:8-9; 1 पतरस 1:10-11)। जो वे कह रहे थे, उसे समझ न पाने ने उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन में संशोधन और परिवर्तन कर के उसे सहज बनाने का अधिकार अथवा औचित्य प्रदान नहीं किया था। प्रभु यीशु मसीह के शिष्यों को भी प्रभु द्वारा कही गई कई बातें समझ में नहीं आती थीं, लेकिन वे बाद में उन्हें समझ में आने लगीं (मत्ती 15:16; मरकुस 9:32; लूका 9:45; 18:34; यूहन्ना 10:6; 12:16)। शिष्यों ने प्रभु से कहा कि उन्हें उन बातों को जिन्हें वे समझ नहीं पा रहे थे, समझा दे; किन्तु उन्होंने कभी यह नहीं कहा कि उन्हें बदल दे या उनके स्थान पर कुछ अन्य बात रख दे; उन के द्वारा प्रभु की उन बातों में अपनी समझ के अनुसार कुछ भी जोड़ने-घटाने की तो बात ही दूर है। परमेश्वर के शब्दों को समझाना और सिखाना, पवित्र आत्मा का कार्य है, और किसी भी मनुष्य को पवित्र आत्मा के कार्य-क्षेत्र में दखल नहीं देना चाहिए। चाहे वह आकर्षक अथवा सरलता से समझ में आने वाला हो या न हो, परमेश्वर के वचन में मनुष्य के विचारों, बुद्धि, और समझ की बातों द्वारा कोई मिलावट नहीं की जानी है। आत्मिक बातें, आत्मिक बातों के साथ ही मिला-मिला कर सिखाई जानी चाहिएँ, न कि साँसारिक अथवा मानवीय बातों के साथ। यह एक बार फिर से हमारे लिए 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 में पौलुस की बात – लिखित वचन से आगे नहीं बढ़ना पर बल देता है। अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे बढ़ेंगे और पद 14 को देखेंगे।   

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Learning from the Holy Spirit – 25

 

    God the Holy Spirit has been given to every Born-Again Christian Believer, and He resides in him from the moment of his salvation. The Holy Spirit has been given to be the Believer’s Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide to help him live his Christian life and fulfil his God assigned ministry. The Holy Spirit is also the Believer’s Teacher of God’s Word and other things; helping, teaching, and guiding him in the various situations he faces. Therefore, it is essential that every Christian Believer should learn from the Holy Spirit, instead of relying upon learning from men and their works, since that makes them prone to falling into erroneous teachings.

    Presently we are learning from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, about learning from the Holy Spirit; and are considering verse 13 of this passage. In the last article, we have seen from the third phrase of verse 13 that it has always been God’s method that His Word be brought to His people unadulterated, in the form and words that He has conveyed to His spokesmen, for passing on to His people. We have seen some Old Testament examples of this fact; and that God’s people have been successful and victorious in their lives only when they have followed His Word. Today we will continue further in considering this phrase of verse 13, “comparing spiritual things with spiritual,” and understand how God wants that His Word be learnt not through things from human thoughts, wisdom, and understanding but from what He has stated in His Word.

    God’s stated method of His teaching His Word is “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little” (Isaiah 28:10; see Isaiah 28:9-13). In other words, to learn God’s Word, God’s people must only use God’s precepts, i.e., principles, instructions, teachings, etc. already given at other places in His Word. This is also in conformity with another principle related to God’s Word, that we have seen earlier – God’s Word is complete and perfect; He does not add any new revelations or teachings to it; therefore, no new things or visions will be given to explain or clarify anything, what has been given is sufficient. Also, as we have seen about the Holy Spirit teachings God’s Word, He does so by reminding about what has already been spoken, and by taking what has already been given and declaring that, as per the situation at hand; He never says anything new on His authority. Therefore, God’s Word is learnt by utilizing its other portions. Under the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit these related portions must be seen along with other parts, compiling one with another, bit by bit, to develop the complete picture and come to a proper understanding.

    Thus, the Word of God is best explained, clarified, and learnt with the help of the Word of God itself, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. No human thought, wisdom, understanding can ever clarify and teach God’s Word in the manner the Holy Spirit can, through showing how to utilize other portions of God’s Word to clarify and explain some other portion. Man’s methods, ways, and teachings may appear very attractive and appealing, they may exhilarate and please us for a time, but they can also adulterate God’s Word. They can never be a substitute for learning from the Holy Spirit, nor can they bring the same effect as the Holy Spirit’s teachings bring in our lives, and then through us in other’s lives. The dwindling attendances in Churches, the lack of interest in learning God’s Word amongst the congregations, and Christian worship having become a ritualistic formality, etc. are all glaring evidences of the effects of preaching and teaching according to man’s ways and methods, instead of preaching and teaching the true Word of God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

    As we have seen from the examples in the previous article, the Old Testament prophets did not add their own thoughts, wisdom, and understanding to the words that God had given them, but spoke them out as they received them, even though they might not have understood what they were saying (Daniel 12:8-9; 1 Peter 1:10-11). Their inability to understand what they were saying did not give them the reason or authority to alter and edit God’s Word to try to make it easier to understand and follow. Even the Lord’s disciples did not understand many things that the Lord said to them, but they became apparent to them later (Matthew 15:16; Mark 9:32; Luke 9:45; 18:34; John 10:6; 12:16). The disciples asked the Lord to explain to them the things they did not understand, but never asked for them to be changed or replaced; let alone take it upon themselves to add things to it according to their own understanding. The job of God’s spokesman is to speak out God’s Word, as is given to them; they are not to edit and alter it to make it easier to understand or more palatable. It is the Holy Spirit’s work to teach and make those words understandable; and no man should venture into the Holy Spirit’s domain. Whether or not it is attractive and easily understandable, God’s Word is not to be adulterated with man’s thoughts, wisdom, and understanding. Spiritual things must be preached and taught by comparing with other spiritual things, not worldly or human things. This once again emphasizes to us Paul’s assertion in 1 Corinthians 4:6, of not going beyond the written Word. In the next article, we will carry on from here, and will look at verse 14.
