क्योंकि प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी भी है, जो उस में निवास करता है, और उसके उद्धार पाने के क्षण ही में परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे दे दिया जाता है, इसलिए विश्वासी को अपने भण्डारी होने का निर्वाह योग्य रीति से करना है। विश्वासी को परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा दिया गया ताकि उसके मसीही जीवन को जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई का ठीक प्रकार से निर्वाह करने में उसका सहायक हो, मार्गदर्शक हो। पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी का शिक्षक भी है; जिन अन्य बातों को विश्वासी को सीखना होता है, उन के अतिरिक्त, पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के वचन को भी सिखाता है। क्योंकि कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध और अचूक नहीं है, सभी से गलतियाँ होती हैं, और सभी अपनी समझ के अनुसार की गई व्याख्या को प्रमुख करते हैं, इसलिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को परमेश्वर का वचन सीखने के लिये किसी मनुष्य एवं मनुष्य की रचनाओं पर निर्भर रहने की बजाए, उसे प्राथमिक रीति से परमेश्वर के वचन को पवित्र आत्मा से ही सीखना चाहिए, जिस से कि किसी भी प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ने के खतरे से बचा रहे। परमेश्वर की यह आज्ञा भी है कि मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं और व्याख्याओं को हमेशा पहले वचन से जाँच-परख लेना चाहिये, और बाइबल से सुसंगत होने पर ही उन्हें स्वीकार करना चाहिये। 

पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि लोग क्यों पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए, मनुष्यों से सीखने पर अधिक निर्भर रहना चाहते हैं; और हमने 1 पतरस 2:1-2 से यह भी देखा है कि विश्वासी को पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए अपने आप को किस प्रकार से तैयार करना चाहिए। पिछले लेख से हमने भजन 25 से परमेश्वर द्वारा लोगों को अपने वचन और मार्गों को सीखने के बारे में देखना आरंभ किया है। यह भजन विश्वासी के परमेश्वर से वचन को सीखने के बारे में मनन करने के लिए कुछ बहुत गंभीर और महत्वपूर्ण बातों को दिखाता है; और साथ ही कुछ गलत धारणाओं का भी, जो वचन सीखने के बारे में सामान्यतः लोगों में पाई जाती हैं, निवारण कर देता है। संबंधित पदों से, जिस क्रम में वे लिखे गए हैं, पिछले लेख में हमने पद 8 और 9 से देखा था, कि परमेश्वर पापियों को सिखाता है, और वह सीखने वाले में नम्रता होने की माँग करता है। आज हम इससे आगे, एक और पद से सीखेंगे।

परमेश्वर द्वारा वचन और उसके मार्ग सिखाने से संबंधित यह अगला पद है, पद 12: “वह कौन है जो यहोवा का भय मानता है? यहोवा उसको उसी मार्ग पर जिस से वह प्रसन्न होता है चलाएगा।” यह पद उन विश्वासियों के सामने जो परमेश्वर से सीखना चाहते हैं, दो बातों को विचार करने के लिए रखता है।

• पहली, परमेश्वर सीखने वाले में न केवल नम्रता चाहता है, लेकिन साथ ही यह भी कि वह यहोवा का भय मानता है। बहुत से लोग परमेश्वर का भय रखने का दावा तो करते हैं, किन्तु वे इसे अपने जीवन में व्यावहारिक रीति से प्रकट नहीं करते हैं। अधिकाँश के लिए परमेश्वर का भय रखने का अर्थ होता है अपनी नैतिक और धार्मिक धारणाओं का रीति के अनुसार निर्वाह करते रहना। किन्तु परमेश्वर का वचन हमारे लिए परिभाषित करता है कि वास्तव में परमेश्वर का भय क्या होता है, “यहोवा का भय मानना बुराई से बैर रखना है। घमण्ड, अहंकार, और बुरी चाल से, और उलट फेर की बात से भी मैं बैर रखती हूं” (नीतिवचन 8:13)। इसलिए, वह जो वास्तव में परमेश्वर का भय मानता है, वह हर प्रकार की बुराई से बैर रखेगा, और अपने जीवन के द्वारा उसे व्यावहारिक रीति से भी दिखाएगा। साथ ही वह इस बात के लिए भी सचेत रहेगा कि इस पद में लिखी उन अन्य बातों से भी दूर रहे जिन से परमेश्वर बैर रखता है। यदि हम नीतिवचन 8:13 को, और वचन सीखने से पहले 1 पतरस 2:1 में दी गई अनिवार्यता को साथ रखकर देखें, तो प्रकट है कि दोनों ही जगह पवित्र आत्मा ने एक ही बात को भिन्न शब्दों में लिखवाया है, परन्तु दोनों का मूल-भाव एक ही है। अर्थात् पुराने और नये नियम में, वचन सीखने का आधार बदला नहीं है, अटल परमेश्वर के समान यह सीखने का आधार भी अपरिवर्तनीय ही है। 

• दूसरी, उसे परमेश्वर उसी मार्ग पर जिस से वह प्रसन्न होता है चलाएगा; अर्थात, परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए जो तय किया है, उसके अनुसार उसे सिखाएगा। प्रत्येक विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर ने पहले से ही कुछ बातें निर्धारित कर के रखी हैं (इफिसियों 2:10); और उसे के अनुसार उसे आत्मिक वरदान भी दिए हैं कि उस कार्य या सेवकाई का निर्वाह करे (रोमियों 12:6-18)। परमेश्वर उसी के अनुसार सिखाता है, जो वह चाहता है कि वह व्यक्ति उसके लिए करे। बाइबल, परमेश्वर की आशीषों और गुणों का भण्डार है, और हर कोई उस से सीख सकता है; परमेश्वर ने जो कार्य और सेवकाई विश्वासी के लिए निर्धारित की है, उसे के अनुसार सीखने और उस में बढ़ने की योग्यता और क्षमता भी उसे प्रदान करता है। विश्वासी जैसे-जैसे अपनी सेवकाई को पूरा करते हैं, परमेश्वर के प्रति आज्ञाकारी और प्रतिबद्ध बने रहते हैं, परमेश्वर भी उन्हें और बढ़ता एवं परिपक्व करता जाता है, और उनकी विश्वासयोग्यता के लिए उन्हें और अधिक आशीषित करता है, जैसा कि भजन 25:13-14 से प्रकट है।

इसलिए, भजन 25:4 “हे यहोवा अपने मार्ग मुझ को दिखला; अपना पथ मुझे बता दे” परमेश्वर से सीखने की इच्छा रखने वाले प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी की सच्चे मन से की गई प्रार्थना होनी चाहिए। परमेश्वर कभी अपने आप को किसी पर थोपता नहीं है, जब हम उस से माँगते हैं, उसे अनुमति देते हैं, तब वह हमारे जीवनों में अद्भुत कार्य करता है जिन से हमारा लाभ और परमेश्वर की महिमा होती है। अगले लेख से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा सिखाए जाने के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 18

 

Since every Born-Again Christian Believer is a steward of the Holy Spirit, who resides in him, and has been given to him by God at the very moment of his being saved, therefore, the Believer should strive to fulfill his stewardship worthily. God the Holy Spirit has been given to the Believer to help and guide him in his Christian life and for fulfilling his God given ministry. The Holy Spirit is also the Believer’s Teacher; besides other things that he needs to learn, the Holy Spirit teaches him God’s Word the Bible too. Since no person is perfect or infallible, since everyone makes mistakes, and since all have the tendency to give prominence to interpretations according to their own understanding, therefore, every Christian Believer should learn the Word of God from the Holy Spirit, instead of relying upon men and their works, to avoid falling into any possible erroneous teachings. It is God’s command that the teachings and interpretations given by men must always be first cross-checked and verified from God’s Word, and accepted only if they are found to be consistent with the Bible. 

In the previous articles we have seen why people rely more upon men to learn God’s Word, than learn from the Holy Spirit; and have seen from 1 Peter 2:1-2 how the Believer should prepare himself to learn from the Holy Spirit. Since the last article, we have started to see from Psalm 25, about God’s teaching His people. This Psalm shows us some very important points to ponder over in learning from God; and it also dispels many common misconceptions related to learning God’s Word and ways, seen amongst the people. From the relevant verses, in the order of the verses, we have seen from verses 8 and 9 in the last article, that God teaches sinners, and He requires humility in the learner. Today we will carry on learning from one more verse.

The next verse related to God’s teaching His Word and ways is Verse 12: “Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.” This verse puts before the Believers wanting to learn from God, two points to consider.

• Firstly, God not only wants humility in the learner, but also that he should be a man that fears the Lord. Many people claim to fear the Lord, but they do not practically demonstrate it through their lives. For most, being in the fear of the Lord usually means a ritualistic observance of their religious and moral beliefs. But God’s Word defines for us, what fear of the Lord actually is, “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate” (Proverbs 8:13). Therefore, the person who actually does fear the Lord, will hate evil in all its forms, and will also demonstrate it practically through his life. And he will also be careful to see that the other things mentioned in this verse, things that God hates, do not have a place in his life. If we take Proverbs 8:13, and see it along with 1 Peter 2:1, the verse that gives the preliminary mandatory condition to being able to learn God’s Word, then it is evident that at both places, the Holy Spirit has had the same thing written, in different words, the basic sense at both places is the same. In other words, in the Old as well as the New Testament, the basis for learning God’s Word never changed, like God is unchanging, His basis for this learning is also unchanging.

• Secondly, God will teach that person; but, Him shall He teach in the way He chooses; i.e., will teach according to what God has chosen for him. For every Believer, God has prepared some things to do beforehand (Ephesians 2:10); and has given him spiritual gifts accordingly, to fulfil that work or ministry (Romans 12:6-8). God teaches according to what He wants that person to do for Him. The Bible is a treasure trove of God’s blessings and abilities, and everyone can learn from it; God will give the ability to learn and grow in the work or ministry that He has assigned to every Believer. As the Believers fulfil their ministry, remain obedient and committed to God in it, God will continue to teach them more, to grow and mature them further, and be more blessed because of their faithful service, as is borne out from Psalm 25:13-14.

Therefore, Psalm 25:4 “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths” should be the heartfelt prayer of every Christian Believer, to learn from God. God never imposes Himself on anyone, when we ask Him and allow Him, He does wonderful things in our life that will benefit us and glorify Him. In the next article we will begin to see from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 about the Holy Spirit’s teaching the Believers.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 4 - प्रार्थना (33) 

परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल के उदाहरणों और हवालों के आधार पर हम व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने से सम्बन्धित बातों के मूल स्वरूप और निर्वाह के बारे में देख, सीख, और समझ रहे हैं; यह जानने के लिए कि आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी इन बातों को किस तरह से जानते, समझते, और पालन करत थे। हम पहले के लेखों में देख चुके हैं कि व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित बातें हमें वैसे तो सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में स्थान-स्थान पर दी गई हैं; लेकिन प्रेरितों 2 और 15 अध्याय में लिखी गई बातों के साथ यह भी लिखा गया है कि उनके पालन से मसीही विश्वासी सँख्या में, तथा अपने आत्मिक जीवन और मसीही विश्वास में बढ़ते चले गए, और साथ ही कलीसियाएं भी बढ़ती चली गईं। इसलिए हमने प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में दी गई व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित सात बातों को देखना आरम्भ किया। इन सात में से पहली तीन बातें, प्रेरित पतरस के भक्त यहूदियों को किए गए प्रचार के अन्त की ओर प्रेरितों 2:38-41 में मिलती हैं। ये तीनों बातें मसीही विश्वास में आने और मसीही विश्वास का जीवन आरम्भ करने से सम्बन्धित हैं। शेष चार बातें प्रेरितों 2:42 में मिलती हैं; और जैसा कि इस पद में लिखा है, ये वे बातें हैं जिनका पालन आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर किया करते थे। परिणामस्वरूप, वे मसीही विश्वास में दृढ़ और स्थिर होते चले गए, सँख्या में बढ़ते गए, और कलीसियाएं भी बढ़ती चली गईं। यहाँ दी गई इन चार बातों को आज के मसीही भी मानते और पूरा करते हैं, किन्तु वे इन्हें एक रीति के समान लेते हैं, और औपचारिकता पूरी करने के लिए निभाते हैं; इसलिए ये बातें उनके जीवन में प्रभावी नहीं हैं, पहली कलीसिया के विश्वासियों के समान जीवनों में परिवर्तन और सामर्थ्य नहीं ला रही हैं। इन चार में से पहली तीन बातों को देख लेने के बाद, अब हम चौथी बात, प्रार्थना करने के बारे में देख रहे हैं, तथा मत्ती 6:5-15 से हम तथाकथित “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” के बारे में देख रहे हैं। इन पदों से हमने देखा है कि प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों को सिखाया कि वे तीन मुख्य बातों का निर्वाह के बारे में परमेश्वर पिता से माँगें; पद 11, परमेश्वर पर पूर्णतः निर्भर रहना; पद 12, प्रभु परमेश्वर के समान औरों को हर कीमत पर सच्चे मन से क्षमा करने वाले होना; पद 13, में परीक्षा में न पड़ने और बुराई से बचे रहने को परमेश्वर से माँगना। हम इन तीन में से पहली दो बातों को देख चुके हैं, और आज पद 13 में परीक्षा और बुराई से सम्बन्धित बात को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

 

यहाँ, मत्ती 6:13 में लिखा है “और हमें परीक्षा में न ला, परन्तु बुराई से बचा; क्योंकि राज्य और पराक्रम और महिमा सदा तेरे ही हैं।” आमीन।” इस पद को पढ़ने से यही आभास होता है कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों की परीक्षा लेता है, और उसमें वह बुराई का भी प्रयोग कर सकता है। आरम्भिक लेखों में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत व्याख्या करने, गलत समझ रखने का सबसे सामान्य कारण है किसी भी बात को उसके सन्दर्भ से बाहर लेकर उसकी व्याख्या करना, और धारणा बनाना। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि सन्दर्भ दो तरह के होते हैं, तात्कालिक - अर्थात उसके आगे-पीछे के अन्य पद और खण्ड; तथा दूर के - अर्थात परमेश्वर के वचन में अन्य स्थानों पर दी गई सम्बन्धित बातें। जो भी व्याख्या किसी भी सन्दर्भ में सही नहीं बैठती है, सन्दर्भ से असंगत रहती है, वह गलत है, अस्वीकार्य है। इसी बात को ध्यान में रखते हुए हम मत्ती के इस पद पर विचार करने से पहले, आज हम परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने लोगों की परीक्षा लिए जाने, और उस सन्दर्भ में बुराई का प्रयोग करने के बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन से कुछ बातों को देख और समझ लेते हैं, ताकि हम किसी गलतफहमी में पड़कर कोई गलत व्याख्या न करें, कोई अनुचित धारणा न बना लें।

 

बाइबल यह बहुत स्पष्ट दिखाती है कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों की परीक्षा लेता है; नीतिवचन 17:3 में लिखा है कि यहोवा अपने लोगों के मनों को जाँचता है। हम उत्पत्ति 22:1 और इब्रानियों 11:17 में देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर ने इसहाक के सन्दर्भ में अब्राहम की परीक्षा ली; परमेश्वर ने मिस्र के दासत्व से निकल कर कनान जा रहे इस्राएलियों की परीक्षा ली (निर्गमन 15:25; 16:4; व्यवस्थाविवरण 8:2, 16); उन्हें कनान देश में बसाने के बाद भी इस्राएलियों की परीक्षा ली (न्यायियों 3:4); उसने राजा हिजकिय्याह की परीक्षा ली (2 इतिहास 32:31); परमेश्वर मसीही विश्वासियों के विश्वास की वास्तविकता की परीक्षा लेता है (यूहन्ना 6:6; याकूब 1:3; 1 पतरस 1:7), आदि। इन सभी, तथा वचन में दिए गए अन्य हवालों से हम देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों के उसके प्रति विश्वास की, उसकी बातों के प्रति उनकी आज्ञाकारिता की, और उसके प्रति उनकी मनसा की वास्तविकता की परीक्षा लेता है। ऐसा नहीं है कि परमेश्वर लोगों के विश्वास, आज्ञाकारिता, और मनसा की वास्तविक दशा को, वास्तविक स्थिति को जानता नहीं है। 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13 में लिखा है कि परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को उनकी सामर्थ्य से बाहर किसी परीक्षा में पड़ने नहीं देता है, वरन परीक्षा के साथ निकास भी करता है। परमेश्वर तब ही किसी व्यक्ति की सामर्थ्य और क्षमता की सीमा के अन्दर परीक्षा ले सकता है, जब उसे उसकी परीक्षा सहने की क्षमता और सीमा पहले से ही पता होगी; अन्यथा यह पद गलत हो जाएगा। मसीही विश्वासियों की सामर्थ्य और क्षमता की सीमा जानते हुए भी परमेश्वर उन्हें परीक्षा में जाने देने के द्वारा उनके विश्वास और आज्ञाकारिता की दशा उनपर प्रकट करता है, ताकि वे अपने विश्वास और आज्ञाकारिता की स्थिति से अवगत होकर, उचित कदम उठाएं और अपने आप को सुधारें। जो परीक्षा में स्थिर रहता है, वह परमेश्वर से बहुत बड़ा प्रतिफल भी पाता है (याकूब 1:12)।

  

किन्तु परमेश्वर द्वारा इस परीक्षा के लिए जाने के साथ एक अन्य बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात भी जुड़ी हुई है, जिसे हमें ध्यान रखना भी आवश्यक है, और जो याकूब 1:।3 में लिखा है “जब किसी की परीक्षा हो, तो वह यह न कहे, कि मेरी परीक्षा परमेश्वर की ओर से होती है; क्योंकि न तो बुरी बातों से परमेश्वर की परीक्षा हो सकती है, और न वह किसी की परीक्षा आप करता है।” परमेश्वर परीक्षा अवश्य लेता है, किन्तु कभी भी बुराई से किसी की परीक्षा नहीं लेता है। यहाँ पर शब्द “बुराई” को समझना आवश्यक है। जिस मूल यूनानी भाषा के शब्द का अनुवाद यहाँ पर “बुराई” किया गया है वह दुष्टता, बुरे स्वभाव या विचार, या वह जो परमेश्वर से सुसंगत नहीं है के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है, न कि उसके लिए जो हमें अच्छा न लगे या पसन्द न आए। अर्थात ऐसी बातें जो परमेश्वर से नहीं वरन शैतान से सम्बन्धित हैं। अर्थात इस पद के अर्थ को हम अपने शब्दों में कुछ इस प्रकार भी व्यक्त कर सकते हैं - न तो शैतानी बातों से परमेश्वर की परीक्षा होती है, और ना ही वह ऐसी किसी भी बात से किसी की परीक्षा लेता है।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (33)

We have been looking at the original form and observance of things related to practical Christian living from the examples and references of God’s Word the Bible, to learn and understand how the initial Christian Believers used to knew, understood, and followed them. We have seen in the earlier articles that although we find things related to practical Christian living given throughout the Bible, but in the things written in Acts chapters 2 and 15, it has also been said that by obeying them the Christian Believers increased in their numbers, in their spiritual lives and Christian faith, and the churches also continued to grow. Therefore, we have begun by looking at the seven things related to practical Christian living, given in Acts chapter 2. Of these seven things, the first three are related to coming into the Christian faith, and are found towards the end of Peter’s sermon to the devout Jews, in Acts 2:38-41. The remaining four things are given in Acts 2:42; and as is written in this verse, the initial Christian Believers observed them steadfastly. Consequently, they continued to grow and be established in their Christian faith, continued to increase in numbers, and the churches also grew. The four things given here are also followed by the Christians today, but as a ritual, to fulfill a formality. Therefore, these four are not bringing the changes and power, and are not effective in their Christian lives, as they were in the lives of the initial Christians. Having considered the first three of these four, we are now considering about the fourth, i.e., prayer; and from Matthew 6:5-15 are considering about the so-called “Lord’s Prayer.” From these verses we have seen that the Lord taught His disciples to pray and ask God the Father mainly for three things; verse 11, to be fully dependent on God; verse 12, like the Lord God be those who forgive others truly from the heart; verse 13, to ask being kept safe from temptations and evil. Of these three, we have seen the first two, and today will begin to consider from verse 13 about being kept safe from being tempted and evil.

Here, in Matthew 6:13 it is written “And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” The impression one gets on reading this verse is that God tempts or tests His people, and for this, He can use evil also. In the earlier articles we had seen that the commonest reason for wrong interpretations and having wrong understandings of Biblical texts is taking them out of their context, and forming concepts. We had also seen that contexts are of two kinds, the immediate - i.e., the verses given before and after the verse under consideration; and remote - i.e., the related things given at other places in God’s Word. Any interpretation that is inconsistent with any of the contexts, is wrong, is unacceptable. Keeping this in mind, today, before beginning to consider this verse from Matthew, we will see and understand about God testing or tempting His people and about evil in this context, so that we do not fall into any misunderstandings, and form any wrong concepts.

The Bible shows very clearly that God does test His people. It says in Proverbs 17:3 that the Lord tests the hearts. We see from Genesis 22:1 and Hebrews 11:17 that God tested Abraham about Issac; God tested the Israelites coming out of slavery from Egypt and journeying to Canaan (Exodus 15:25; 16:4; Deuteronomy 8:2, 16); even after settling them in Canaan, God tested them (Judges 3:4); He tested King Hezekiah (2 Chronicles 32:31); God tests the faith of the Christian Believers (John 6:6; James 1:3; 1 Peter 1:7), etc. In all of these, and in the other references given in the Word, we see that God tests His people for their faith, for their obedience, their hearts towards Him. He does not do it because He does not know the true state of the people’s faith, obedience, and hearts towards Him. It is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that God does not allow His people to be tested or tempted beyond their strength and abilities, and arranges for ways of escape from the temptation. God can test or tempt a person within his strength and capacity, only when He knows about it beforehand; else this verse will become false. Although knowing about the strengths and capabilities of a person, God still allows him to go into temptations and testing to make them aware of the state of their faith and obedience towards Him, so that they take the proper steps to correct themselves. Those that endure the temptations, will receive a great reward from God (James 1:12).

But there is another very important thing associated with being tempted or tested by God, and we need to keep it in mind. It is written in James 1:13 “Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.” God surely tests, but never through any evil. Here it is necessary to understand the word “evil.” The word used in the original Greek language, that has been translated as “evil” here is for things that are not consistent with God, are bad or devious, are of devilish nature and thinking; it is not about anything that we do not like or approve and therefore consider it to be ‘bad.’ Therefore, to understand the meaning of this verse, we can express it something like this - neither is God ever tested by satanic or devilish things, nor does He use any such thing to test or tempt anyone.

In the next article, to understand Matthew 6:13, we will use these meanings about being tested or tempted and evil.

I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में दी गई पाँचवीं आरम्भिक बात, “मरे हुओं का जी उठना” पर हमारे इस अध्ययन को ज़ारी रखते हुए, हम उस से आगे देखेंगे जो हम ने पिछले लेख में देखा है। पिछले लेख में हम ने देखा था कि क्यों प्रभु यीशु को मनुष्य रूप में पृथ्वी पर जन्म लेना पड़ा; हम ने प्रत्येक मनुष्य में स्वाभाविक रीति से विद्यमान आदम के स्वभाव और उस के उद्धार पाने के बाद उस में आ जाने वाले ईश्वरीय स्वभाव के बारे में देखा; फिर हम ने “प्रथम फल” के तात्पर्य और मसीहियों के लिए उस के महत्व को समझा; और फिर अन्त में देखा था कि पुनरुत्थान का निहितार्थ है कि शैतान की सामर्थ्य, शासन, और अधिकार का अन्त तथा परमेश्वर के राज्य का सदा काल के लिए स्थापित हो जाना। फिर हमने देखा कि परमेश्वर के राज्य में उस की सभी सन्तान प्रभु के सामने खड़े हो कर उस से अपने-अपने प्रतिफल प्राप्त करेंगे, जो कि मसीही विश्वासी होने पर उन के द्वारा जीए गए जीवन और किए गए या नहीं किए गए कामों के अनुसार होगा। इसलिए इस तथ्य से कि पुनरुत्थान निश्चित है, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी प्रोत्साहित होना चाहिए कि इस सँसार में ऐसा जीवन जीए जिस से उसे आने वाले जीवन में उत्तम प्रतिफल मिलें। आज हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 15 से एक और खण्ड को देखेंगे, जो जिलाए जाने का उल्लेख करता है।

इस अध्याय का अगला खण्ड जिस में मरे हुओं के जिलाए जाने का उल्लेख आया है वह है 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:29-34। इस खण्ड में, पद 29, जिस में लोगों द्वारा मरे हुओं के लिए बपतिस्मा लेने का उल्लेख है, उस की व्याख्या बहुत कठिन है, और कहा जाता है कि इस पद की तीस से भी अधिक व्याख्या हैं, किन्तु उन में से कोई भी पूर्णतः सन्तुष्ट करने वाली और सभी को स्वीकार्य नहीं है। इस पद का वास्तविक अर्थ और व्याख्या, कि लोग मरे हुओं के लिए बपतिस्मा क्यों लेते थे, जो भी हो, वह हमारे वर्तमान चर्चा का विषय नहीं है। हमारी वर्तमान चर्चा कि लिए जो महत्वपूर्ण है, वह यह तथ्य है कि पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा की प्रेरणा में हो कर, कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली के लिए परिचित इस बात को पुनरुत्थान के निश्चित होने की पुष्टि करने के लिए उपयोग किया है। दूसरे शब्दों में, क्योंकि कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली इस बात से परिचित थी, इसी लिए पौलुस इस का उपयोग उन से यह कहने के लिए करता है कि वे लोग इस प्रथा के निर्वाह के द्वारा यह सुनिश्चित करना चाहते हैं कि मरे हुए किसी जन के लिए यदि कोई बपतिस्मा लेता है, तो इस से उस मृतक को कुछ लाभ मिल जाता है। ऐसा नहीं है कि पौलुस इस प्रथा को सही ठहरा रहा था, या उस से सहमत था, या उसे सिद्धान्त के रूप में कोई स्वीकृति प्रदान कर रहा था। पौलुस बस इतना कर रहा था कि जिस बात से कुरिन्थुस के लोग परिचित थे, उस में होकर उन से कह रहा था कि वे भी तो मृतकों के जी उठने और प्रतिफल प्राप्त करने की मान्यता रखते हैं; तो फिर अभी इस समय, इस पृथ्वी पर रहते हुए अपने आप को पुनरुत्थान के लिए तैयार क्यों न कर लें?

इस से आगे, 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:30-32 में, पौलुस बहुत संक्षेप में कुरिन्थुस के लोगों को याद करवाता है कि उसे अपनी सेवकाई के दौरान कितने कष्ट सहने पड़े हैं, विशेषकर, उस के साथ जो कुछ इफिसुस में हुआ था, और फिर वह कहता है “…यदि मुर्दे जिलाए नहीं जाएंगे, तो आओ, खाए-पीए, क्योंकि कल तो मर ही जाएंगे” (1 कुरिन्थियों 15:32)। दूसरे शब्दों में, यदि पुनरुत्थान नहीं है, यदि इस सँसार के बाद कुछ नहीं है, तो फिर कोई भी कष्ट क्यों उठाना, किसी भी बात की परवाह क्यों करना? फिर तो सभी को, जो भी उन्हें अच्छा लगता है, सही लगता है, पसन्द आता है, जिस से उन्हें आनन्द मिलता है, वही करना चाहिए, क्योंकि मृत्यु के बाद कुछ नहीं है, और मृत्यु के साथ उन के लिए सब समाप्त हो जाएगा। यदि यह सही है तो फिर यह कल्पना करना बिल्कुल भी कठिन नहीं है कि इस विचारधारा का पालन करने से समाज और सँसार का क्या हाल होगा, सभी स्थानों पर कैसी अराजकता, अव्यवस्था, और गड़बड़ी फैल जाएगी, यदि हर कोई वही करने लगे जो उन्हें अच्छा लगता है, सही लगता है, पसन्द आता है, जिस से उन्हें आनन्द मिलता है। पुनरुत्थान का तथ्य इस गलत विचारधारा और मान्यता को दबा देता है, क्योंकि उस से व्यक्ति को एक उच्च अधिकार को जवाबदेह होने का, किसी को अपने जीवन और व्यवहार का हिसाब देने का, और परिणाम प्राप्त करने का एहसास होता है।

इस खण्ड के पद 33 और 34 “धोखा न खाना, बुरी संगति अच्छे चरित्र को बिगाड़ देती है। धर्म के लिये जाग उठो और पाप न करो; क्योंकि कितने ऐसे हैं जो परमेश्वर को नहीं जानते, मैं तुम्हें लज्जित करते के लिये यह कहता हूं” पुनरुत्थान के एक और निहितार्थ को उजागर करते हैं – पुनरुत्थान मनुष्य में भले और बुरे के विचार को, परमेश्वर को जानने या न जानने की ओर प्रेरित करता है, जो परमेश्वर की दृष्ट में भला है, उसे करने के लिए उभारता है। जो पुनरुत्थान का इनकार करते हैं, वे परमेश्वर का, भले और बुरे के होने का, और अपने जीवन तथा व्यवहार के लिए जवाब देह होने का भी इनकार करते हैं। किन्तु जो पुनरुत्थान में विश्वास रखते हैं, वे इस बात पर भी विश्वास रखेंगे कि चाहे इस सँसार में उन्हें प्रभु के लिए दुःख उठाने पड़ें, परन्तु आने वाले सँसार में उन्हें प्रभु से बड़े प्रतिफल मिलेंगे, जैसा कि पौलुस ने मसीही सेवकाई में अपने कष्ट उठाने के सन्दर्भ में कहा है “क्योंकि हमारा पल भर का हल्का सा क्लेश हमारे लिये बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण और अनन्त महिमा उत्पन्न करता जाता है” (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:17)।

अगले लेख में हम पुनरुत्थान के एक और निहितार्थ को देखेंगे।

Resurrection’s Implications for the Believers – 4

 

Carrying on with our study on the “resurrection of the dead,” the fifth elementary principle given in Hebrews 6:1-2, from 1 Corinthians chapter 15, in the last article we have seen about why the Lord Jesus had to come down to be born on earth as a man; we then saw about the Adamic nature, naturally present in every human and the godly nature that comes in with salvation; then we considered the meaning “first-fruits” and its application for the Christian Believers; and lastly that the resurrection implies the end of Satan’s power, rule, and authority and God’s rule being established forever. Then we saw that the resurrection implies that in God’s Kingdom, all His children, i.e., all the Christian Believers will stand before the Lord for receiving their rewards, which will be on the basis of the kind of life they have lived and the things they have done or not done, as Christian Believers. Therefore, the fact that the resurrection is certain, should motivate every Believer to live a life in this world, that will fetch him great rewards in the next. Today we will see another passage from1 Corinthians 15 that mentions resurrection, or rising of the dead.

The next passage in this chapter that refers to resurrection, or the rising of the dead is 1 Corinthians 15:29-34. In this section, verse 29 which speaks of people being baptized for the dead. This verse is very difficult for interpretations, and it is said that around thirty different interpretations of this verse have been given, but none is entirely satisfactory or acceptable to all. Whatever be the actual interpretation and meaning of this verse; i.e., why were people being baptized for the dead in Corinth, that is not the subject of our study. What is relevant to our discussion and learning here is the fact that Paul, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, uses that practice known to the Corinthians, to affirm the fact of the resurrection being a certainty. In other words, Paul is using a practice with which the Corinthians were familiar, to point out to them that they were doing this, so that the dead person, on whose behalf another is being baptized, should benefit in some manner even after his death. This means that the Corinthians did realize that at some time in the future there will be a resurrection, and with the resurrection there will be an accounting. So, when that accounting happens, the person now already deceased should in some way be in a state of getting better benefits. It is not that Paul is justifying this practice or agreeing with it, or giving it a doctrinal sanction. All that Paul is doing is to bring to the notice of the Corinthians, from something they were familiar with, the fact of resurrection of the dead and an accounting for rewards being inevitable, so they might as well prepare themselves for it now, on earth, while they have time for it.

Then in 1 Corinthians 15:30-32 Paul very briefly reminds the Corinthians of his painful experiences during his ministry, particularly, what happened with him in Ephesus, and then he says “…If the dead do not rise, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!"” (1 Corinthians 15:32). In other words, if there is no resurrection, if there is nothing beyond this world, then why suffer any problems, why bother about anything? In that case, let everyone do what seems right to them, what makes them happy, because there is nothing beyond death, everything for them will come to an end with death. It is not at all difficult to imagine the utter lawlessness, chaos, and confusion, the immorality, crimes, and the state of the society and the world that will happen if everyone did that which pleased them, that which was right or correct in their thinking, that which made them happy. The fact of the resurrection suppresses such wrong thinking and belief, since it makes one realize his accountability to a higher authority, and his having to give an account of his life and behavior being inevitable.

Verses 33 and 34 of this passage, “Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits." Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame” raise another implication of the resurrection – resurrection appeals to the sense of good and evil; of knowing God and not knowing Him, and motivates to do that which is good in God’s eyes. Those who reject resurrection, reject God, reject there being good and evil, and reject their being accountable and receiving the results of their life and behavior. But those who believe in the resurrection, will also believe that though they suffer in this world for the sake of the Lord, they will be richly rewarded for all their sufferings in the next world, as Paul says in context of his afflictions and sufferings for his ministry “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

In the next article, we will consider another implication of the resurrection.

    क्योंकि प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी पवित्र आत्मा का भण्डारी भी है, जो उस में निवास करता है, और उसके उद्धार पाने के क्षण ही में परमेश्वर के द्वारा उसे दे दिया जाता है, इसलिए उसे अपने भण्डारी होने का निर्वाह योग्य रीति से करना है। विश्वासी को परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा दिया गया ताकि उसके मसीही जीवन को जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई का ठीक प्रकार से निर्वाह करने में उसका सहायक हो, मार्गदर्शक हो। पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी का शिक्षक भी है; जिन अन्य बातों को विश्वासी को सीखना होता है, उन के अतिरिक्त, पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी को परमेश्वर के वचन को भी सिखाता है। इसलिए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को किसी मनुष्य एवं मनुष्य की रचनाओं पर निर्भर रहने की बजाए, परमेश्वर के वचन को पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना चाहिए, जिस से कि किसी भी प्रकार की गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ने के खतरे से बचा रहे। पिछले लेखों में हमने देखा है कि लोग क्यों पवित्र आत्मा की बजाए, मनुष्यों से सीखने पर अधिक निर्भर रहना चाहते हैं; और हमने 1 पतरस 2:1-2 से यह भी देखा है कि विश्वासी को पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए अपने आप को किस प्रकार से तैयार करना चाहिए। पिछले लेख से हमने भजन 25 से परमेश्वर द्वारा लोगों को अपने वचन और मार्गों को सीखने के बारे में देखना आरंभ किया है। यह भजन विश्वासी के परमेश्वर से वचन को सीखने के बारे में मनन करने के लिए कुछ बहुत गंभीर और महत्वपूर्ण बातों को दिखाता है; और साथ ही कुछ गलत धारणाओं का भी, जो वचन सीखने के बारे में सामान्यतः लोगों में पाई जाती हैं, निवारण कर देता है। संबंधित पदों से, जिस क्रम में वे लिखे गए हैं, पिछले लेख में हमने पद 8 और 9 से देखा था, कि परमेश्वर पापियों को सिखाता है, और वह सीखने वाले में नम्रता होने की माँग करता है। आज हम एक और पद से आगे सीखेंगे।

    परमेश्वर द्वारा वचन और उसके मार्ग सिखाने से संबंधित यह अगला पद है:

•     पद 12: “वह कौन है जो यहोवा का भय मानता है? यहोवा उसको उसी मार्ग पर जिस से वह प्रसन्न होता है चलाएगा।” यह पद हमारे सामने उन विश्वासियों के लिए जो परमेश्वर से सीखना चाहते हैं, दो बातों को विचार करने के लिए रखता है।

o   पहली, परमेश्वर सीखने वाले में न केवल नम्रता चाहता है, लेकिन साथ ही यह भी कि वह यहोवा का भय मानता है। बहुत से लोग परमेश्वर का भय रखने का दावा तो करते हैं, किन्तु वे इसे अपने जीवन में व्यावहारिक रीति से प्रकट नहीं करते हैं। अधिकाँश के लिए परमेश्वर का भय रखने का अर्थ होता है अपनी नैतिक और धार्मिक धारणाओं का रीति के अनुसार निर्वाह करते रहना। किन्तु परमेश्वर का वचन हमारे लिए परिभाषित करता है कि वास्तव में परमेश्वर का भय क्या होता है, “यहोवा का भय मानना बुराई से बैर रखना है। घमण्ड, अहंकार, और बुरी चाल से, और उलट फेर की बात से भी मैं बैर रखती हूं” (नीतिवचन 8:13)। इसलिए, वह जो वास्तव में परमेश्वर का भय मानता है, वह हर प्रकार की बुराई से बैर रखेगा, और अपने जीवन के द्वारा उसे व्यावहारिक रीति से भी दिखाएगा। साथ ही वह इस बात के लिए भी सचेत रहेगा कि इस पद में लिखी उन अन्य बातों से भी दूर रहे जिन से परमेश्वर बैर रखता है।

o   दूसरी, उसे परमेश्वर उसी मार्ग पर जिस से वह प्रसन्न होता है चलाएगा; अर्थात, परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए जो तय किया है, उसके अनुसार उसे सिखाएगा। प्रत्येक विश्वासी के लिए परमेश्वर ने पहले से ही कुछ बातें निर्धारित कर के रखी हैं (इफिसियों 2:10); और उसे के अनुसार उसे आत्मिक वरदान भी दिए हैं कि उस कार्य या सेवकाई का निर्वाह करे (रोमियों 12:6-18)। परमेश्वर उसी के अनुसार सिखाता है, जो वह चाहता है कि वह व्यक्ति उसके लिए करे। बाइबल, परमेश्वर की आशीषों और गुणों का भण्डार है, और हर कोई उस से सीख सकता है; परमेश्वर ने जो कार्य और सेवकाई विश्वासी के लिए निर्धारित की है, उसे के अनुसार सीखने और उस में बढ़ने की योग्यता और क्षमता भी उसे प्रदान करता है। विश्वासी जैसे-जैसे अपनी सेवकाई को पूरा करते हैं, परमेश्वर के प्रति आज्ञाकारी और प्रतिबद्ध बने रहते हैं, परमेश्वर भी उन्हें और परिपक्व करता जाता है, और उनकी विश्वासयोग्यता के लिए उन्हें और अधिक आशीषित करता है, जैसा कि भजन 25:13-14 से प्रकट है।

    इसलिए, भजन 25:4 “हे यहोवा अपने मार्ग मुझ को दिखला; अपना पथ मुझे बता दे” परमेश्वर से सीखने की इच्छा रखने वाले प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी की सच्चे मन से की गई प्रार्थना होनी चाहिए। परमेश्वर कभी अपने आप को किसी पर थोपता नहीं है, जब हम उस से माँगते हैं, उसे अनुमति देते हैं, तब वह हमारे जीवनों में अद्भुत कार्य करता है जिन से हमारा लाभ और परमेश्वर की महिमा होती है। अगले लेख से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा सीखे जाने के बारे में देखना आरंभ करेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Learning from the Holy Spirit – 18

     Since every Born-Again Christian Believer is a steward of the Holy Spirit, who resides in him, and has been given to him by God at the very moment of his being saved, therefore, he has to ensure fulfilling his stewardship worthily. God the Holy Spirit has been given to him to help and guide him in his Christian life and for fulfilling his God given ministry. The Holy Spirit is also the Believer’s Teacher; besides other things that he needs to learn, He teaches him God’s Word the Bible. Therefore, every Christian Believer should learn the Word of God from the Holy Spirit, instead of relying upon men and their works, to avoid falling into any possible erroneous teachings. In the previous articles we have seen why people rely more upon men to learn God’s Word, than learn from the Holy Spirit; and have seen from 1 Peter 2:1-2 how the Believer should prepare himself to learn from the Holy Spirit. Since the last article, we have started to see from Psalm 25, about God’s teaching His people. This Psalm shows us some very important points to ponder over in learning from God; and it also dispels many common misconceptions related to learning God’s Word and ways, seen amongst the people. From the relevant verses, in the order of the verses, we have seen from verses 8 and 9 in the last article, that God teaches sinners, and He requires humility in the learner. Today we will carry on learning from one more verse.

    The next verse related to God’s teaching His Word and ways is:

• Verse 12: “Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.” This verse puts before us two points for the Believers wanting to learn from God, to consider.

• Firstly, God not only wants humility in the learner, but also that he should be a man that fears the Lord. Many people claim to fear the Lord, but they do not practically demonstrate it through their lives. For most, being in the fear of the Lord usually means a ritualistic observance of their religious and moral beliefs. But God’s Word defines for us, what fear of the Lord actually is, “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate” (Proverbs 8:13). Therefore, the person who actually does fear the Lord, will hate evil in all its forms, and demonstrate it practically through his life. And he will also be careful to see that the other things mentioned in this verse that God hates, do not have a place in his life.

• Secondly, God will teach that person; but Him shall He teach in the way He chooses; i.e., will teach according to what God has chosen for him. For every Believer, God has prepared somethings to do beforehand (Ephesians 2:10); and has given him spiritual gifts accordingly, to fulfil that work or ministry (Romans 12:6-8). God teaches according to what He wants that person to do for Him. The Bible is a treasure trove of God’s blessings and abilities, and everyone can learn from it; God will give the ability to learn and grow in the work or ministry that He has assigned to every Believer. As the Believers fulfil their ministry, remain obedient and committed to God in it, God will continue to teach them more, mature them further, and be blessed because of their faithful service, as is borne out from Psalm 25:13-14.

    Therefore, Psalm 25:4 “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths” should be the heartfelt prayer of every Christian Believer, to learn from God. God never imposes Himself on anyone, when we ask Him and allow Him to, He does wonderful things in our life that will benefit us and glorify Him. In the next article we will begin to see from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 about the Holy Spirit’s teaching the Believers.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
