कलीसिया की, तथा मसीही जीवन में उन्नति

       उन बातों को देखने के पश्चात जिनके कारण मसीही जीवन तथा कलीसिया की उन्नति बाधित होती है, मसीही विश्वासी अपरिपक्व ही बने रहते हैं, आज हम व्यक्तिगत मसीही जीवन में, तथा प्रभु की कलीसिया के द्वारा, उन्नति के मार्ग पर अग्रसर होने के बारे में देखेंगे। प्रेरित पौलुस ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में इफिसियों 4:15 में लिखा है कि, वरन प्रेम में सच्चाई से चलते हुए, सब बातों में उस में जो सिर है, अर्थात मसीह में बढ़ते जाएं। अर्थात मसीही जीवन में उन्नति का, बढ़ोतरी का तरीका है प्रेम, और सच्चाई से रहना तथा व्यवहार करना, और जीवन की हर बात में मसीह यीशु का अनुकरण करना। इन्हीं शिक्षाओं को पवित्र आत्मा ने अन्य कलीसियाओं के लिए भी पौलुस के द्वारा लिखवाया है। वास्तव में, वचन के अनुसार, प्रेम और सच्चाई प्रभु यीशु ही के विभिन्न स्वरूप या उपनाम हैं; उसी के गुण और चरित्र हैं। इसलिए जो प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अनुकरण करेगा, वह स्वतः ही प्रेम और सच्चाई का व्यवहार भी रखेगा। साथ ही, यह हमको अपने आप को जाँचने का तरीका भी देता है, कि यदि हम में प्रेम और सच्चाई नहीं हैं, तो हम बाहर से चाहे जो भी दिखाते और करते रहें, हम प्रभु यीशु का अनुकरण नहीं कर रहे हैं, इसलिए, यदि प्रेम और सच्चाई हमारे जीवन में नहीं हैं, तो हमारी अन्य हर बात व्यर्थ है, निष्फल है। प्रेम की परिभाषा और प्रेम से चलने या व्यवहार करने के क्या गुण हैं, यह 1 कुरिन्थियों 13 अध्याय में लिखवाया गया है; और इस अध्याय के अंतिम पद, पद 13 में यहाँ तक लिखा है कि पर अब विश्वास, आशा, प्रेम थे तीनों स्थाई है, पर इन में सब से बड़ा प्रेम है। प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में लिखा कि परमेश्वर प्रेम है और जो इस प्रेम को नहीं जानता है, वह परमेश्वर को भी नहीं जानता है (1 यूहन्ना 4:8, 16)। यूहन्ना ने ही इस प्रेम के कलीसिया में व्यावहारिक प्रकटीकरण के विषय लिखा, (1 यूहन्ना 4:20-21) और इस संदर्भ में “भाई” शब्द के अर्थ को भी बताया - प्रभु यीशु की मण्डली के हमारे साथी, सह-विश्वासी (1 यूहन्ना 3:14)।

        प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने अपने विषय कहा था, यीशु ने उस से कहा, मार्ग और सच्चाई और जीवन मैं ही हूं; बिना मेरे द्वारा कोई पिता के पास नहीं पहुंच सकता (यूहन्ना 14:6)। और मसीह यीशु का अनुकरण करने के विषय पौलुस ने लिखा, तुम मेरी सी चाल चलो जैसा मैं मसीह की सी चाल चलता हूं (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1)। कुलुस्सियों 2 अध्याय, प्रभु यीशु मसीह का अनुसरण करते हुए उसके वचन और सच्चाई के साथ चलते रहने के बारे में है। पौलुस में होकर परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने इस 2 अध्याय लिखवाया है:

 * पद 1-2 - कलीसियाओं में परिश्रम करते रहने में पौलुस का उद्देश्य था कि कलीसियाएँ प्रेम में गठे तथा शांति से रहने वाली बन जाएँ, और वे परमेश्वर पिता तथा प्रभु यीशु के पहचान में स्थापित और दृढ़ हों। अर्थात, प्रेम में गठना, शांति से रहना, और पिता परमेश्वर तथा प्रभु यीशु की पहचान में स्थापित और दृढ़ होना परस्पर संबंधित हैं, एक-दूसरे के सहायक एवं पूरक हैं, तथा व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन के लिए अनिवार्य हैं।

 * पद 3-8 - प्रभु यीशु मसीह ही में बुद्धि और ज्ञान के सारे भण्डार छिपे हैं; इसलिए जो मसीह यीशु की पहचान और ज्ञान में स्थापित और दृढ़ होगा, वह मनुष्यों की लुभाने वाली बातों से भरमाया भी नहीं जाएगा। जब भी कोई शंका हो, प्रभु यीशु मसीह और उसकी शिक्षाओं की ओर लौट आएं, और गलत शिक्षा तथा भरमाए जाने से बच जाएंगे।

 * पद 9-15 - मसीह यीशु ही परमेश्वर का सदेह प्रतिरूप है, और पूर्णतः परमेश्वर भी है। जो मसीह यीशु में, अर्थात उसके वचन और उसकी शिक्षाओं में बने रहते हैं, उनका पालन करते रहते हैं, वे उसकी भरपूरी के भी संभागी होते हैं। मसीह यीशु में हमारे लिए व्यवस्था की विधियों की सभी बातें पूरी कर दी गई हैं, और उन्हें पूरा करके उसने उनका हमारे द्वारा फिर से उनका पालन किए जाने को हटा दिया है, व्यवस्था के पालन से मुक्त कर दिया है। जब हम "मसीह यीशु में" हैं, हम व्यवस्था के पूरे किए जाने, हमारे सामने से हटा लिए जाने की स्थिति में हैं, और अब हमें फिर से व्यवस्था के निर्वाह में जाने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। मसीह यीशु में होकर अब हम परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी ठहरते हैं। इसलिए फिर से व्यवस्था की बातों के पालन में जाना, कर्मों द्वारा धर्मी बनने के प्रयास करना, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के कार्य को व्यर्थ करना, उसे नीचा दिखाना, उसका अपमान करना है।

 * पद 16-23 - उपरोक्त बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुए, अब किसी भी मसीही विश्वासी को किसी भी प्रकार के कर्मों की धार्मिकता के द्वारा अपने आप को धर्मी दिखाने और ठहराने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। इन पदों में कही गई ये विभिन्न बातें देखने और सुनने में अच्छी और सही लगती हैं, किन्तु किसी का भी जीवन नहीं बदल सकती हैं, उसे पापों से मुक्ति प्रदान नहीं कर सकती हैं। यह परिवर्तन और पापों से मुक्त किया जाना केवल और केवल पापों से पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु यीशु मसीह से उनके लिए क्षमा माँगकर उसे अपना जीवन समर्पित करने के द्वारा ही होता है। जैसा इस अध्याय के अंतिम पद में, अंतिम वाक्य में लिखा है, विभिन्न कर्मों और अनुष्ठानों की ये सारी बातें तो शारीरिक लालसाओं को भी नहीं रोकने पाती हैं, तो फिर उन पर विजयी कैसे बनाने पाएंगी?

        इसलिए प्रेम, सच्चाई और प्रभु यीशु में बढ़ते जाना, प्रभु यीशु को “सिर” अर्थात नियंत्रण करने और मार्गदर्शन करने वाला मानकर उसकी, तथा उसके वचन की अधीनता में बने रहना ही व्यक्तिगत रीति से मसीही जीवन में, और कलीसिया के जीवन की उन्नति और सुरक्षा का मार्ग है। इसलिए इन व्यावहारिक बातों में से किसी को भी अपने जीवन में निष्क्रिय अथवा घटने ना दें; वरन् इनमें बढ़ते ही चले जाएँ।  

        यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप प्रेम, सच्चाई और प्रभु यीशु मसीह के अनुकरण में निरंतर न केवल बने रहें, वरन बढ़ते भी जाएं। यही आपके मसीही जीवन को और उन्नत बनाने, सुधारने, और परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी बनाने का मार्ग है, तथा साथ ही आपको अपने स्वयं की जाँच करते रहने का एक माप-दण्ड भी प्रदान करता है, जिससे आप मसीही जीवन में अपनी प्रगति और उन्नति को जाँचते तथा देखते रहें। इसलिए अपने जीवन में इन तीन बातों के व्यावहारिक उपयोग को कभी कम न होने दें, उनमें बढ़ते ही रहने के प्रयास में लगे रहें।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

English Translation

Growth and Edification in Christian Life & of the Church

        Having seen those things because of which the Christian Believer’s life and the life of the Church are adversely affected, the Believers remain immature and child-like, today we will see about growing in the Christian life and edification of the Church. The Apostle Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit writes in Ephesians 4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ. In other words, the way to grow in Christian life and be edified is through maintaining Christian love and truth, and live accordingly, having Christ Jesus as our “head”; to emulate the Lord Jesus in everything. The Holy Spirit had these teachings written for the other churches also, through Paul. Actually speaking, Biblically, Love and Truth are the other names used in God’s Word for the Lord Jesus Christ, they are His characteristics. Therefore, whoever emulates the Lord Jesus, will also automatically live a life of following love and truth. This also give us a method to examine ourselves, if we are not walking and growing in love and truth, then outwardly whatever kind of life we may be living and exhibiting, but actually we are not really following the Lord Jesus; therefore, everything else that we say and do as a Christian Believer, is vain and fruitless. The definition of Love and the meaning of walking or living in love has been written for us in 1 Corinthians 13. It says in the last verse of this chapter, And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13). The Apostle John, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote that God is love, and he who does not love, does not know God (1 John 4:8, 16). John also wrote about the practical demonstration of this love in the life of the Christian Believer (1 John 4:20-21); and gave the meaning of the word “brother” in this context - one who is our co-believer, our colleague in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 John 3:14).

        The Lord Jesus has said about Himself, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6). About following the Lord Jesus, Paul wrote, Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). Colossians chapter 2 is about following the Lord Jesus and walking with Him in truth, obeying His Word. Through Paul, the Holy Spirit has had it written in this 2nd chapter:

* Verses 1-2 - Paul’s purpose in laboring amongst the churches was that they stay knit together in love, live with peace, and be firmly established in knowing the Lord God and Lord Jesus Christ. Implying that living together in love, in peace, and being firmly established in knowing God and the Lord Jesus, are all interconnected; all complement each other, and are essential for a practical Christian life.

 * Verse 3-8 - All the treasures of knowledge and wisdom are hidden in the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, he who is firmly established in the knowledge and understanding of the Lord Jesus, will not be misled into wrong things by the deceptions of men. Therefore, whenever, there is any doubt about anything, come back to the Lord and His teachings; and you will not be carried away by wrong teachings and false doctrines.

 * Verses 9-15 - Lord Jesus is the bodily manifestation of God and is fully God. Those who maintain themselves in the Lord Jesus and His Word, obey their teachings, they will also be partakers of His fullness. All the requirements of the Law have been fulfilled for us by the Lord Jesus, and having been fulfilled, there is no more need for us to try to fulfil it; the Law has been taken away as completed, by the Lord Jesus. When we are “in Him”, we are in the position of fulfillment of the Law, its being completed and taken away from us, and we are no longer required to fulfill the Law again. In God’s eyes, by being ‘in Christ’, we are now righteous. Therefore, turning back to the Law, trying to become righteous by the Law or through works, is rendering the Lord’s work to be vain, is belittling and insulting Him.

 * Verses 16-23 - Keeping the above things in mind, no Christian Believer is ever required to show or prove himself to be righteous through any works of righteousness. The various things that are said in these verses appear to be very good, pious, and reverential, but they cannot in any manner transform anyone’s life, deliver them from their sin. This transformation and being set free from sin can only happen by repenting of sins, asking the Lord Jesus to forgive them, and surrendering one’s life to the Lord Jesus. As has been written in the last verse of this chapter, all these various things of various kinds of religious works, rites and rituals are unable to even control the physical desires and lusts, then how can they make one victorious over them?

        Therefore, to grow in love, truth, and the Lord Jesus is the only way for edification and growth in Christian life and of the Church. This happens when we accept the Lord Jesus as our spiritual “head”, i.e., the one who controls, directs, and guides our life, and we remaining submitted, obedient, and surrendered to Him continue to live and do as He leads us to do.

        If you are a Christian Believer, then it is essential that you not only remain in love, truth, and the Word of the Lord God, but also grow in it. This is the only way to help you improve and mature your Christian life and make you useful for the work of the Lord. This also provides us with a method of examining and evaluating our lives, and to keep assessing the status of our growth in our Christian lives. Therefore, never let any of these practical things stagnate or decrease in your life; rather, always be growing in them.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

इसलिए प्रेम, सच्चाई और प्रभु यीशु में बढ़ते जाना, प्रभु यीशु को “सिर” अर्थात नियंत्रण करने और मार्गदर्शन करने वाला मानकर उसकी तथा उसके वचन की अधीनता में बने रहना ही व्यक्तिगत रीति से मसीही जीवन में, और कलीसिया के जीवन की उन्नति और सुरक्षा का मार्ग है।

 

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप प्रेम, सच्चाई और प्रभु यीशु मसीह के अनुकरण में निरंतर न केवल बने रहें, वरन बढ़ते भी जाएं। यही आपके मसीही जीवन को और उन्नत बनाने, सुधारने, और परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी बनाने का मार्ग है, तथा साथ ही आपको अपने स्वयं की जाँच करते रहने का एक माप-दण्ड भी प्रदान करता है, जिससे आप मसीही जीवन में अपनी प्रगति और उन्नति को जाँचते तथा देखते रहें। इसलिए अपने जीवन में इन तीन बातों के व्यावहारिक उपयोग को कभी कम न होने दें, उनमें बढ़ते ही रहने के प्रयास में लगे रहें।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

Having seen those things because of which the Christian Believer’s life and the life of the Church are adversely affected, the Believers remain immature and child-like, today we will see about growing in the Christian life and edification of the Church. The Apostle Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit writes in Ephesians 4:15 “but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ.” In other words, the way to be growing in Christian life and be edified is through maintaining Christian love and truth, and live accordingly, having Christ Jesus as our “head”; to emulate the Lord Jesus in everything. The Holy Spirit had these teachings written for the other churches also, through Paul. Actually speaking, Biblically, Love and Truth are the other names used in God’s Word for the Lord Jesus Christ, His characteristics; therefore, whoever emulates the Lord Jesus, will also automatically live a life of following love and truth. This also give us a method to examine ourselves, if we are not walking and growing in love and truth, then outwardly whatever kind of life we may be living and exhibiting, but actually we are not really following the Lord Jesus; therefore, everything else that we say and do as a Christian Believer, is vain and fruitless. The definition of Love and the meaning of walking or living in love has been written for us in 1 Corinthians 13. It says in the last verse of this chapter, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). The Apostle John, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote that God is love, and he who does not love, does no know God (1 John 4:8, 16). John also wrote about the practical demonstration of this love in the life of the Christian Believer (1 John 4:20-21); and gave the meaning of the word “brother” in this context - one who is our co-believer, our colleague in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 John 3:14).

The Lord Jesus has said about Himself, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). About following the Lord Jesus, Paul wrote, “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). Colossians chapter 2 is about following the Lord Jesus and walking with Him in truth, obeying His Word. Through Paul, the Holy Spirit has had it written in this 2nd chapter:

• Verses 1-2 - Paul’s purpose in laboring amongst the churches was that they stay knit together in love, live with peace, and be firmly established in knowing the Lord God and Lord Jesus Christ. Implying that living together in love, in peace, and being firmly established in knowing God and the Lord Jesus, all complement each other, and are essential for a practical Christian life.

• Verse 3-8 - All the treasures of knowledge and wisdom are hidden in the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, he who is firmly established in the knowledge and understanding of the Lord Jesus, will not be misled into wrong things by the deceptions of men. Therefore, whenever, there is any doubt about anything, come back to the Lord and His teachings; and you will not be carried away by wrong teachings and false doctrines.

• Verses 9-15 - Lord Jesus is the bodily manifestation of God and is fully God. Those who maintain themselves in the Lord Jesus and His Word, obey their teachings, they will also be partakers of His fullness. All the requirements of the Law have been fulfilled for us by the Lord Jesus, and having being fulfilled, the Law has been taken away as completed, by the Lord Jesus. When we are “in Him”, we are in the position of fulfillment of the Law, its being completed and taken away from us, and we are no longer required to fulfill the Law again. In God’s eyes, by being ‘in Christ’, we are now righteous. Therefore, returning back to the Law, trying to become righteous by the Law or through works, is rendering the Lord’s work to be vain, is belittling and insulting Him.

• Verses 16-23 - Keeping the above things in mind, no Christian Believer is ever required to show or prove himself to be righteous through any works of righteousness. The various things that are said in these verses appear to be very good, pious, and reverential, but they cannot in any manner transform anyone’s life, deliver them from their sin. This transformation and being set free from sin can only happen by repenting of sins, asking the Lord Jesus to forgive them, and surrendering one’s life to the Lord Jesus. As has been written in the last verse of this chapter, all these various things of various kinds of religious works, rites and rituals are unable to even control the physical desires and lusts, then how can they make one victorious over them?

Therefore, to grow in love, truth, and the Lord Jesus is the only way for edification and growth in Christian life and of the Church. This happens when we accept the Lord Jesus as our spiritual “head”, i.e., the one who controls, directs, and guides our life, and we remaining submitted, obedient, and surrendered to Him continue to live and do as He leads us to do.

If you are a Christian Believer, then it is essential that you not only remain in love, truth, and the Word of the Lord God, but also grow in it. This is the only way to help you improve and mature your Christian life and make you useful for the work of the Lord. This also provides us with a method of examining and evaluating our lives, and keep assessing the status of our growth in our Christian lives. Therefore, never let any of these practical things stagnate or decrease in your life; rather, always be growing in them.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

आत्मिक वरदानों के प्रयोगकर्ता - भविष्यद्वक्ता और भविष्यवाणी  

  

पिछले लेख में हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28 में दिए आत्मिक वरदानों में से दूसरे वरदान - भविष्यद्वक्ता होने के बारे में देखना आरंभ किया था। यह वरदान मसीही विश्वासियों की मण्डली में वचन की सेवकाई से संबंधित वरदान है। हमने देखा था कि बाइबल के अनुसार भविष्यद्वक्ता होने और भविष्यवाणी करने का अर्थ केवल आने वाले समय में होने वाली बातें बताना नहीं था, किन्तु परमेश्वर की ओर से मिले संदेश या शिक्षा को लेकर लोगों के समक्ष खड़े होना, और हर कीमत पर उसे खराई से बताना था। उन भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के परमेश्वर के प्रति पूर्णतः समर्पित सत्यवादी होने, और अपनी भविष्यवाणियों द्वारा लोगों के पाप और बुराई तथा परमेश्वर के विमुख होने को प्रकट किए जाने के कारण न तो वे और न ही उनके संदेश लोगों में लोकप्रिय होते थे। बाइबल में उल्लेखित भविष्यद्वक्ताओं ने सामान्यतः दुख, तिरस्कार, और सताव झेलकर अपनी इस सेवकाई को परमेश्वर के लिए पूरा किया। न तो वे लोकप्रिय नहीं होते थे और न ही अपने भविष्यद्वक्ता होने को आदर और प्रशंसा पाने के लिए किसी पदवी या उपाधि के समान प्रयोग करते थे। आज बहुत से लोग अपने आप को पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से “भविष्यद्वक्ता” कहते हैं, और अनेकों लोग पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य से “भविष्यवाणियाँ” करने के दावे करते हैं, किन्तु उनकी ‘सेवकाई’ समाज और लोगों से आदर, प्रशंसा, और सांसारिक लाभ प्राप्त करने से संबंधित होती है, लोगों पर उनकी वास्तविक आत्मिक स्थिति और उनके बारे में परमेश्वर के विचार खराई से प्रकट करने वाली नहीं। उनके जीवन और बातें शारीरिक और सांसारिक लाभ और लोक-लुभावनी बातों से भरी होती हैं, जो परमेश्वर के वचन (2 तिमुथियुस 3:16-17; 4:1-5) के अनुरूप कदापि नहीं है; आरंभिक मसीही मण्डली में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से नियुक्त भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और उनकी भविष्यवाणियों से पूर्णतः भिन्न है।

आज हम परमेश्वर के वचन से देखेंगे कि पुराने और नए नियम में “भविष्यवाणी” या “नबूवत” शब्द कितने विभिन्न अभिप्रायों के लिए प्रयोग किया गया है, तथा यह पहचानेंगे और समझेंगे कि बाइबल में “भविष्यवाणी” या “नबूवत” शब्द का अभिप्राय केवल भविष्य की बातें बताना ही नहीं है, जैसा ये लुभावनी बातें कर के लोगों को भरमाने और बहकाने वाले कहते और करते हैं, जबकि उनकी कही अधिकांश ‘भविष्यवाणी’ की बातें पूरी भी नहीं होती हैं। हमने कल देखा था कि नए नियम की मूल यूनानी भाषा में इनके लिए प्रयोग किए गए शब्दों का अर्थ है “सामने या समक्ष, अथवा आगे, बोलने वाला”, और “सामने या समक्ष, अथवा आगे, बोला गया”; और इसके समान पुराने नियम की मूल इब्रानी भाषा के शब्दों का भी यही अर्थ और अभिप्राय होता है। इस शब्दार्थ से यह प्रकट है कि मूल भाषा के शब्दों के अनुसार, न केवल भविष्य की बातें बताने वाला और भविष्य की बातों को बताना भविष्यद्वक्ता और भविष्यवाणी है, वरन यदि कोई लोगों के सामने या समक्ष आकर परमेश्वर की ओर से बोले, वर्तमान की ही किसी बात के लिए सन्देश अथवा शिक्षा दे, तो वह भी भविष्यद्वक्ता है, और उसकी कही बात भी भविष्यवाणी है।

बाइबल में “भविष्यवाणी” या “नबूवत” शब्द के प्रयोग के कुछ उदाहरण हैं:

• किसी देवता के नाम को पुकारना - 1 राजाओं 18:29 - बाल देवता के नबियों द्वारा अपने देवता को पुकारना।  

• किसी विषय या संदेश को परमेश्वर की ओर से लोगों को बताना या उनके सामने रखना - 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:3

• परमेश्वर की ओर से किसी होने वाली भावी घटना के बारे में सचेत करना - यहेजकेल 36:1, 3, 6; 37:12-14 

• परमेश्वर की ओर से कोई आज्ञा देना - यहेजकेल 37:4, 9-10 

• परमेश्वर के प्रभाव में आकर बात करना - आमोस 3:8

• परमेश्वर की आराधना और स्तुति, भजन और गीतों के द्वारा तथा संगीत वाद्य बजाकर करना - 1 इतिहास 25:1-6 

• किसी छिपी हुई बात को प्रकट करना - लूका 22:64

साथ ही नए नियम में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में प्रेरित पौलुस के द्वारा तिमुथियुस को उसकी सेवकाई के विषय जो शिक्षाएं दी गईं, जो तिमुथियुस के नाम लिखी दोनों पत्रियों में मिलती हैं, वे भी हमें नए नियम के इस समय में परमेश्वर की ओर से बोलने वाले व्यक्ति में पाए जाने वाले गुणों, और उसके संदेश तथा शिक्षाओं में आवश्यक बातों को बताती हैं। 2 तिमुथियुस 2 अध्याय बताता है कि परमेश्वर की ओर से बोलने और सिखाने वाले व्यक्ति में क्या गुण होने चाहिएं। उसकी शिक्षाओं के परमेश्वर की ओर से होने के बारे में 2 तीमुथियुस 3:16-17 में लिखा है कि “हर एक पवित्र शास्‍त्र परमेश्वर की प्रेरणा से रचा गया है और उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिये लाभदायक है। ताकि परमेश्वर का जन सिद्ध बने, और हर एक भले काम के लिये तत्‍पर हो जाए।” अर्थात, परमेश्वर की ओर से वचन की सेवकाई करने वाले को अपनी इच्छा और समझ की बातों के द्वारा नहीं, पवित्र शास्त्र की बातों के उपयोग के द्वारा अपनी सेवकाई करनी है। इस सेवकाई के निर्वाह के लिए उस पवित्र शास्त्र की बातों के द्वारा लोगों को “उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा”” देनी है। परमेश्वर के उस जन को “सब प्रकार की सहनशीलता, और शिक्षा के साथ उलाहना दे, और डांट, और समझा” (2 तिमुथियुस 4:2) के द्वारा यह करना है। परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा द्वारा दी गई बाइबल की इन स्पष्ट और खरी बातों तथा शिक्षाओं की तुलना वर्तमान के “भविष्यद्वक्ता” कहलाने वाले और “भविष्यवाणियाँ” करने वाले लोगों के जीवनों और कार्यों तथा प्रचार से कीजिए; तुरंत प्रकट हो जाएगा कि उन लोगों की बातें और व्यवहार पवित्र आत्मा की ओर से हैं या नहीं, क्योंकि पवित्र आत्मा “सत्य का आत्मा” है और “सब सत्य का मार्ग” ही बताता है (यूहन्ना 16:13), वह न तो कभी झूठ बोलता है, और न कभी दोगलापन करता है।

 

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो निवेदन है कि किसी शब्द अथवा वाक्यांश के बाइबल में प्रयोग के विभिन्न उदाहरणों से समझें कि वचन के अनुसार उसका सही अर्थ और अभिप्राय क्या है, और गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ने से बचें। परमेश्वर के वचन से ही पहचानें कि वास्तव में “भविष्यद्वक्ता” या “नबी” कौन है; और परमेश्वर के वचन में “भविष्यवाणी” या “नबूवत” शब्द को कितने भिन्न अभिप्रायों के साथ प्रयोग किया गया है। यह जाँचें कि वर्तमान के “भविष्यद्वक्ता” या “नबी” कहलाए जाने वाले और उनकी “भविष्यवाणी” या “नबूवत” की बातें क्या वचन के इन उदाहरणों से मेल खाते हैं, वचन की सच्चाई के अनुसार हैं कि नहीं? स्वयं भी शैतान द्वारा फैलाई जा रही गलत शिक्षाओं से बचें तथा औरों को भी बचाएं, और बाहर निकालें।

Users of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit - Prophets & Prophecy

In the previous article we had started to examine the second gift and ministry given in 1 Corinthians 12:28 - Prophets and Prophecy. This gift is also related to the Word Ministry in the Church. We had seen that Biblically speaking, to be a Prophet and to prophesy does not necessarily mean to foretell about future things, but it also means to stand before the people to honestly speak a message or teaching from God, at any cost. We had also seen that unlike the modern day “Prophets”, the Prophets of God were people who not only were completely surrendered to God, but also spoke His Word or message forthrightly and candidly; they exposed the sin and evil of the people, and their being contrary to God in their lives and behavior. Because of these things, God’s prophets and their “prophecy” or messages were usually not popular amongst people, were usually not appreciated or liked by the people. The Prophets mentioned in the Bible, usually suffered persecution, rejection, and sorrows at the hands of the people they ministered amongst, but still fulfilled their ministry from God. God’s Prophets, in the Bible, were neither popular, nor used their ministry as a title or status to gain name, fame and worldly prosperity. In contrast, today many people call themselves “Prophets” and claim to “Prophesy” by the power of the Holy Spirit, but their work and ministry is usually related to using these as a title or status symbol, to gain name, fame and worldly prosperity. They usually stay clear of exposing the sins and actual spiritual condition of the people, and speaking the clear Word of God with honesty and commitment. Their own lives, preaching, and teachings are full of popular things related to physical healings, temporal benefits, and gaining material things, instead of teaching about sin, repentance, forgiveness, salvation, judgment, eternal life, etc., all of which is quite unlike what the teachings of the Word of God speak about (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 4:1-5), and their lives and ministry in no way conforms to the life and ministry of the prophets appointed by the Holy Spirit in the first Church and the initial Christian congregations.

Today we will also see how the term “to prophesy” has been used in God’s Word, in the Old as well as the New Testaments, with different meanings, but all have been called “to prophesy.” Through this we will understand that in the Bible “to prophesy” does not only mean foretelling the future as these teachers of false doctrines and wrong teachings catering to popular public sentiments usually emphasize, and most of their “prophecies” do not actually come true. We had seen yesterday that the meaning of the words “prophet” and “prophesying” in the original Greek language of the New Testament is “to speak before” - in context of time or in context of before people; and the message conveyed in that context; similarly, in the Old Testament as well, the original Hebrew words too mean the same thing, have the same implications. It is clear from these word-meanings that in the original languages, for their initial audiences, the terms “prophet” and “prophesying” not only meant those who tell about the future and the messages related to the future happenings, but also the people who came and spoke God’s message before the people, even if it was about the people’s current unspiritual state and ungodly behavior, they too were “prophets” and “prophesied” on behalf of God.

Consider some examples of the use of the term “To prophesy” from the Bible:

• To call upon the name of a deity - 1 Kings 18:29 - the “prophets” of Baal “prophesied” calling the name of their deity, but nothing happened.

• To speak to the people about a message or a topic given by God, to put it before them 1 Corinthians 14:3.

• To forewarn about a future event on behalf of God - Ezekiel 36:1, 3, 6; 37:12-14.

• To give a commandment to the people on behalf of God - Ezekiel 37:4, 9-10.

• To speak under the influence of the power of God - Amos 3:8.

• To praise and worship God using musical instruments and by singing songs - 1 Chronicles 25:1-6.

• To reveal or tell something hidden or concealed - Luke 22:64. 

 

Besides this, in the New Testament, the teachings Paul gave to Timothy under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, in the two letters written to Timothy, they too tell us about the characteristics of a person speaking on behalf of God, and the qualities in God’s messages that he speaks. 2 Timothy chapter 2 tells about the characteristics that should be present in a prophet or spokesman of God. About the qualities of the message of such a person, it is written in 2 Timothy 3:16 that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” The implication is that the person speaking God’s message, has to fulfill his ministry not through messages from his own thinking and understanding, but from the Scriptures. In fulfillment of his ministry, from the Scriptures he should speak to the people about “doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” The spokesman of God has to “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2). Compare the clear and straightforward teachings of the Bible, with the lives, works, and messages of these modern day so-called “prophets” and their “prophecies”, and it will immediately become apparent whether they and their ministry is from the Holy Spirit or not; because the Holy Spirit is the “Spirit of Truth” and “guides into all truth” (John 16:13); He never speaks any lies, nor does He ever mislead or wrongly guide anyone about anything.

If you are a Christian Believer, then it is a humble request that you understand the actual meaning and implications of any term or word used in the Bible, please see how it has been used at different places in God’s Word, and thereby stay safe from falling into wrong teachings and doctrines. Examine and see if these modern day so-called “prophets” and their “prophecies” are conforming to what the Bible says; do they measure up to the criteria of God’s Word. Beware of all false teachings being spread by Satan to beguile and mislead people, and warn others, teach them as well to be safe and secure.

If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian, a child of God, entitled to a place in heaven, because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start learning, understanding, and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
