परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करना – 7
जब तक एक मसीही विश्वासी में परमेश्वर के प्रति दृढ़ और अडिग विश्वास नहीं होगा, उसके शैतान द्वारा बहकाए और भरमाए जा कर परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के विरुद्ध जाने और पाप कर बैठने की संभावना बनी रहेगी। इसीलिए, इब्रानियों 6:1-2 में स्थिर मसीही विश्वास के लिए छः आरम्भिक बातें दी गई हैं, जिन्हें प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को सीखना और जानना चाहिए; और इनमें से एक है “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास करना।” किसी पर विश्वास करने के लिए हमें उसके बारे में और उसके गुणों, विशेषताओं, और चरित्र के बारे में जानकारी होनी चाहिए। पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम परमेश्वर के बारे में इन ही बातों को परमेश्वर के वचन से सीखते आ रहे हैं, और देखते आ रहे हैं कि क्यों परमेश्वर प्रत्येक विश्वासी द्वारा उस में स्थिर और दृढ़ विश्वास रखने के योग्य है। पिछले दो लेखों में हमने परमेश्वर के सर्वव्यापी और सर्वज्ञानी होने के बारे में, तथा विश्वासियों एवं अविश्वासियों के लिए इन गुणों के तात्पर्यों के बारे देखा है। आज हम इन्हीं दोनों से सम्बन्धित एक अन्य गुण, परमेश्वर के सर्वशक्तिशाली होने, अर्थात, सार्वभौमिक और सर्वशक्तिमान होने; सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि में किसी के भी उस से बढ़कर तो दूर, उसके तुल्य भी नहीं होने के बारे में देखेंगे।
परमेश्वर ने अपने बारे में कहा, “हे पृथ्वी के दूर दूर के देश के रहने वालो, तुम मेरी ओर फिरो और उद्धार पाओ! क्योंकि मैं ही ईश्वर हूं और दूसरा कोई नहीं है” (यशायाह 45:22), और, “प्राचीनकाल की बातें स्मरण करो जो आरम्भ ही से है; क्योंकि ईश्वर मैं ही हूं, दूसरा कोई नहीं; मैं ही परमेश्वर हूं और मेरे तुल्य कोई भी नहीं है” (यशायाह 46:9)। जैसा कि परमेश्वर ने पूछा है सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि में ऐसा कोई भी नहीं है जिसके समान परमेश्वर को कहा जा सके, “तुम किस से मेरी उपमा दोगे और मुझे किस के समान बताओगे, किस से मेरा मिलान करोगे कि हम एक समान ठहरें?” (यशायाह 46:5)। परमेश्वर के सर्वशक्तिमान होने के बारे में यशायाह ने लिखा है, “किस ने महासागर को चुल्लू से मापा और किस के बित्ते से आकाश का नाप हुआ, किस ने पृथ्वी की मिट्टी को नपवे में भरा और पहाड़ों को तराजू में और पहाडिय़ों को कांटे में तौला है? किस ने यहोवा की आत्मा को मार्ग बताया या उसका मन्त्री हो कर उसको ज्ञान सिखाया है? उसने किस से सम्मति ली और किस ने उसे समझाकर न्याय का पथ बता दिया और ज्ञान सिखा कर बुद्धि का मार्ग जता दिया है? देखो, जातियां तो डोल की एक बून्द या पलड़ों पर की धूल के तुल्य ठहरीं; देखो, वह द्वीपों को धूल के किनकों सरीखे उठाता है। लबानोन भी ईंधन के लिये थोड़ा होगा और उस में के जीव-जन्तु होमबलि के लिये बस न होंगे। सारी जातियां उसके सामने कुछ नहीं हैं, वे उसकी दृष्टि में लेश और शून्य से भी घट ठहरीं हैं। तुम ईश्वर को किस के समान बताओगे और उसकी उपमा किस से दोगे?” (यशायाह 40:12-18)। नहूम भविष्यद्वक्ता ने उसकी सामर्थ्य के बारे में लिखा, “यहोवा विलम्ब से क्रोध करने वाला और बड़ा शक्तिमान है; वह दोषी को किसी प्रकार निर्दोष न ठहराएगा। यहोवा बवंडर और आंधी में हो कर चलता है, और बादल उसके पांवों की धूल है। उसके घुड़कने से महानद सूख जाते हैं, और समुद्र भी निर्जल हो जाता है; बाशान और कर्म्मैल कुम्हलाते और लबानोन की हरियाली जाती रहती है। उसके स्पर्श से पहाड़ कांप उठते हैं और पहाडिय़ां गल जाती हैं; उसके प्रताप से पृथ्वी वरन सारा संसार अपने सब रहने वालों समेत थरथरा उठता है। उसके क्रोध का सामना कौन कर सकता है? और जब उसका क्रोध भड़कता है, तब कौन ठहर सकता है? उसकी जलजलाहट आग के समान भड़क जाती है, और चट्टानें उसकी शक्ति से फट फटकर गिरती हैं” (नहूम 1:3-6)।
यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता ने परमेश्वर के सर्वशक्तिमान होने, उसके सब कुछ कर पाने के बारे में कहा, “हे प्रभु यहोवा, तू ने बड़े सामर्थ्य और बढ़ाई हुई भुजा से आकाश और पृथ्वी को बनाया है! तेरे लिये कोई काम कठिन नहीं है” (यिर्मयाह 32:17); और परमेश्वर ने भी अपने विषय यही कहा, “क्या यहोवा के लिये कोई काम कठिन है?...” (उत्पत्ति 18:14), और “क्या मेरे लिये कोई भी काम कठिन है?” (यिर्मयाह 32:27)। प्रभु यीशु ने कहा, “...जो मनुष्य से नहीं हो सकता, वह परमेश्वर से हो सकता है” (लूका 18:27)। अय्यूब ने भी परमेश्वर के सर्वशक्तिमान होने को माना, “मैं जानता हूँ कि तू सब कुछ कर सकता है, और तेरी युक्तियों में से कोई रुक नहीं सकती” (अय्यूब 42:2)। अन्यजातियों के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर ने अपनी बुद्धि और ओहदा वापस पाने के बाद कहा, “पृथ्वी के सब रहने वाले उसके सामने तुच्छ गिने जाते हैं, और वह स्वर्ग की सेना और पृथ्वी के रहने वालों के बीच अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार काम करता है; और कोई उसको रोक कर उस से नहीं कह सकता है, तू ने यह क्या किया है?” (दानिय्येल 4:35)।
परमेश्वर के वचन में अब्राहम के विश्वास के बारे में जो लिखा गया है, “और वह जो एक सौ वर्ष का था, अपने मरे हुए से शरीर और सारा के गर्भ की मरी हुई की सी दशा जानकर भी विश्वास में निर्बल न हुआ। और न अविश्वासी हो कर परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञा पर संदेह किया, पर विश्वास में दृढ़ हो कर परमेश्वर की महिमा की। और निश्चय जाना, कि जिस बात की उसने प्रतिज्ञा की है, वह उसे पूरी करने को भी सामर्थी है। इस कारण, यह उसके लिये धामिर्कता गिना गया” (रोमियों 4:19-22), वह विश्वासियों के लिए तथा हमारे वर्तमान विषय “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” को सीखने के लिए अत्यन्त आवश्यक है। इस खण्ड में हम देखते हैं कि अब्राहम परमेश्वर के प्रति विश्वास में निर्बल नहीं था; अब्राहम का विश्वास उसकी अपनी, या सारा की शारीरिक दशा पर निर्भर नहीं था; विश्वास में स्थिर होने के कारण उसने परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञा के लिए उसकी महिमा की, उसे परमेश्वर के सर्वसामर्थी होने पर भरोसा था, कि जो परमेश्वर ने कहा है उसे वह पूरा भी करेगा; और क्योंकि उसका ऐसा विश्वास था, इसलिए वह उसके लिए धार्मिकता गिना गया। अपनी और सारा की शारीरिक दुर्बलता के होते हुए भी उसने परमेश्वर के सर्वसामर्थी होने पर विश्वास किया, जिस कारण वह न केवल परमेश्वर के सामने धर्मी ठहरा वरन परमेश्वर के वचन में उसे विश्वास का एक उत्कृष्ट और महिमित उदाहरण ठहराया गया है।
आज, परमेश्वर में अब्राहम का विश्वास, विश्वासियों को एक उदाहरण और एक मानक प्रदान करता है कि वे तुलना कर के देख सकें कि उनके विश्वास का क्या स्तर है; साथ ही वह परमेश्वर के सर्वसामर्थी होने के गुण के आधार पर “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” करने के लाभ को भी दिखाता है। हम परमेश्वर के सर्वसामर्थी होने के गुण को विश्वासियों को दी गई उसकी एक प्रतिज्ञा में देखते हैं, “और हम जानते हैं, कि जो लोग परमेश्वर से प्रेम रखते हैं, उन के लिये सब बातें मिलकर भलाई ही को उत्पन्न करती है; अर्थात उन्हीं के लिये जो उस की इच्छा के अनुसार बुलाए हुए हैं” (रोमियों 8:28); शैतान कुछ भी कर ले, विश्वासी से कुछ भी करवा ले, परमेश्वर फिर भी उस सब में से अपने जन के लिए भलाई ही उत्पन्न कर देगा – यह एक ऐसी प्रतिज्ञा है जो मसीही विश्वास के अतिरिक्त और कहीं नहीं मिलेगी। लेकिन परमेश्वर का सर्वसामर्थी होना और उस पर भरोसा रखने से होने वाले लाभ, जिन्हें अब्राहम का जीवन चित्रित करता है, उनके सामने जो परमेश्वर पर भरोसा नहीं रखते हैं या उसके आज्ञाकारी नहीं होते हैं, एक गंभीर चेतावनी भी रखते हैं – वे चाहे जिस पर भी भरोसा रखे हुए हों, न्याय के दिन उन्हें परमेश्वर के सामने खड़े होने और उचित न्याय मिलने से कुछ भी बचाने नहीं पाएगा। परिस्थिति का सही समाधान करने का समय अभी है, जब परमेश्वर लोगों के पापों से पश्चाताप कर के उन पापों के लिए उस से क्षमा प्राप्त कर लेने आने की प्रतीक्षा कर रहा है।
अगले लेख में हम परमेश्वर एक और गुण, उसका जलन रखने वाला होना, पर विचार करेंगे। इसे बहुधा गलत व्याख्या के कारण गलत समझा जाता है, किन्तु यदि सही समझा जाए तो यह विश्वासी के परमेश्वर में दृढ़ विश्वास रखने में बहुत सहायक होगा।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Faith Towards God - 7
Until a Christian Believer has a firm unshakeable faith in God, he remains vulnerable to being misled by Satan into going against God and/or His Word, and committing sin. That is why, in the six elementary principles of the Christian Faith given in Hebrews 6:1-2, that every Christian Believer should learn and know about, having “Faith Towards God” has also been stated. To have faith in someone, we need to know about him and about his attributes, characteristics, and character. For the past few articles, we have been learning these about God, from God’s Word the Bible; and have been seeing how and why God is worthy of every Believer having a firm unshakeable faith in Him. In the past two articles we have seen about God being Omnipresent and Omniscient, and the implications for the Believers and non-Believers of these attributes of God. Today we will consider another related attribute of God, that He is Omnipotent, i.e., sovereign, and almighty; none, nothing in the whole of creation being equal to Him, let alone exceed Him.
God has said for Himself, “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other” (Isaiah 45:22), and “Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me” (Isaiah 46:9). As God has asked, there is none in the whole of creation that God can be compared with, “To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal And compare Me, that we should be alike?” (Isaiah 46:5). Speaking of God’s omnipotence, Isaiah writes, “Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, Measured heaven with a span And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales And the hills in a balance? Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, Or as His counsellor has taught Him? With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding? Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, And are counted as the small dust on the scales; Look, He lifts up the isles as a very little thing. And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, Nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering. All nations before Him are as nothing, And they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless. To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?” (Isaiah 40:12-18). The prophet Nahum speaking of His power writes, “The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of His feet. He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, And dries up all the rivers. Bashan and Carmel wither, And the flower of Lebanon wilts. The mountains quake before Him, The hills melt, And the earth heaves at His presence, Yes, the world and all who dwell in it. Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, And the rocks are thrown down by Him” (Nahum 1:3-6).
The prophet Jeremiah acknowledged God’s omnipotence, His ability to do everything, saying “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You” (Jeremiah 32:17); and God too said the same for Himself, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?…” (Genesis 18:14), and “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27). The Lord Jesus said that “…The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:27). Job too acknowledged God’s omnipotence, “I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You” (Job 42:2). The Gentile King Nebuchadnezzar, after being restored to his sanity and position said about God, “All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, "What have You done?"” (Daniel 4:35).
What is written in God’s Word about Abraham’s faith, “And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore "it was accounted to him for righteousness."” (Romans 4:19-22), is crucial for the Believers to learn about our current topic, “Faith Towards God.” We see from this passage that Abraham was not weak in his faith towards God; Abraham’s faith was not based on his own physical condition, or that of his wife Sarah; in faith he gave glory to God for His promise, believing in God’s omnipotence, that what He said, He will also do; and having such a faith, it was accounted to him for righteousness. Trusting in the omnipotence of God, despite his own and his wife’s impotence, made him righteous before God and set him as a glorious example of faith in the Word of God.
Today, Abraham’s faith in God gives the Believers an example and a standard to see where their faith stands in comparison; and it also demonstrates the benefits of trusting in God’s omnipotence for having “Faith Towards God.” We see this attribute of God being omnipotent in a promise given to the Believers, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28); whatever Satan may do, whatever he may make a Believer do, yet God is able to do good for His people even through all of that – this is a promise that is not found in any faith other than the Christian Faith. But God’s omnipotence and the benefits of trusting in it, exemplified by the life of Abraham, also places before those who do not trust in God, or do not obey Him a serious caution – nothing that they are trusting in to save them on the day of judgment will be able to stand before God and to deliver them from His hands. The time to rectify the situation is now, while God waiting for people to repent of their sins and come to Him for being forgiven.
In the next article, we will consider another attribute of God, the jealousy of God, that is often misinterpreted and misunderstood, but in fact if it is properly understood, it will tremendously help Believers have a strong faith towards God.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life. Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
