परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 11

 

मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर के वचन का भण्डारी होने के अपने इस अध्ययन में, हम उन तरीकों को देख रहे हैं जिनके द्वारा शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करता है। हमने देखा है कि उन में से एक तरीका है परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए उसके वचन, बाइबल, के लेख में फेर-बदल करना। इस फेर-बदल को करने के लिए शैतान दो तरीके उपयोग करता है, पहला जो प्रत्यक्ष होता है – लेख में कुछ जोड़ना, अथवा उसमें से कुछ निकाल लेना; और दूसरा जो अप्रत्यक्ष और बहुत चालाकी से किया हुआ, जिसे आसानी से समझा नहीं जा सकता है, वह है – बाइबल के लेखों और तथ्यों का बाइबल के विपरीत रीति से उपयोग करना, उसे ऐसे अर्थ और अभिप्राय देने के द्वारा जो मूल में उसके साथ कभी थे ही नहीं। इस छेड़-छाड़ को लोगों को स्वीकार्य बनाने, उसका पालन करवाने, और उसके द्वारा लोगों को पथ-भ्रष्ट करने का सबसे कारगर तरीका है इस कार्य के लिए परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि को भरमा कर उनसे बाइबल के लेखों को बाइबल के विपरीत अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ दुरुपयोग करवाना; और पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम शैतान की इसी युक्ति के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं।

हमने पिछले लेख में देखा था कि इस बात में शैतान को बहुत बड़ी सहायता इस से मिलती है कि अधिकांश ईसाई या मसीही बाइबल का अध्ययन करते ही नहीं हैं; कुछ लोग एक औपचारिकता निभाने के समान बाइबल को पढ़ लेते हैं, लेकिन बहुत ही थोड़े होते हैं जो वास्तव में बाइबल का अध्ययन करने में समय बिताते हैं। बाइबल के ज्ञान की इस कमी के कारण, शैतान बड़ी आसानी से अपने झूठ और बिगाड़े हुए वचन को लोगों में फैला देता है, और वे बातें पकड़ी भी नहीं जाती हैं और न ही उनके बारे में कोई प्रश्न उठाता है। बल्कि, अधिकांश ईसाइयों या मसीहियों में अपने परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि के प्रति जो अंध-भक्ति और बिना कोई प्रश्न किए उनकी हर बात को मानने की जो प्रवृत्ति देखी जाती है, वह भी शैतान के लिए बहुत सहायक होती है। शैतान उन से प्रभावी, रोचक, आकर्षक, और तर्कपूर्ण प्रतीत होने वाली रीति से जो भी कहलवा देता है, लोग उसे स्वीकार कर लेते हैं, मान लेते हैं। इस सन्दर्भ में हम एक बहुधा देखे और माने जाने वाले, किन्तु सर्वथा गलत और बाइबल के विरुद्ध उदाहरण को देख रहे हैं; यह उदाहरण वह शिक्षा है कि उद्धार को यदि अच्छे कर्मों से बना कर न रखा जाए, तो उद्धार खोया जा सकता है। यह समझने के लिए कि यह किस प्रकार से एक शैतानी झूठ है, बाइबल के विरुद्ध है, हमने पिछले लेख में बहुत संक्षेप में देखा था कि बाइबल के अनुसार मसीही होने और उद्धार यानि नया जन्म पाने का क्या अर्थ है।

इसी विषय को आगे बढ़ाते हुए, आज हम, फिर से बहुत संक्षेप में, देखेंगे कि क्यों बाइबल के अनुसार उद्धार हमेशा के लिए है, उसे कभी खोया नहीं जा सकता है; उद्धार से संबंधित कुछ आधारभूत, मूल तथ्य हैं:

• उद्धार कभी भी कर्मों से नहीं है, वरन परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से प्रभु यीशु मसीह के कलवरी के क्रूस पर समस्त मानव जाति के पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए दिए गए बलिदान पर विश्वास करने से मिलने वाली पापों की क्षमा, और उसके मृतकों में से पुनरुत्थान से है (इफिसियों 2:1-9)। किसी भी प्रकार के कोई भी कार्य, कभी भी किसी को भी परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह और उद्धार को प्राप्त करने के योग्य नहीं बना सकते हैं, क्योंकि उसका तात्पर्य होगा कि वे कार्य परमेश्वर पुत्र, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के कार्यों और बलिदान के समतुल्य हैं – दूसरे शब्दों में, अपवित्र, पापी, और त्रुटिपूर्ण मनुष्य पवित्र, निष्पाप, त्रुटिहीन परमेश्वर के समतुल्य कार्य कर सकता है – जो बिलकुल बेतुकी और असंभव बात है।

• इस तथ्य का अनिवार्य स्वाभाविक उप-सिद्धान्त है, जो कर्मों से प्राप्त नहीं हो सकता है, उसे कर्मों द्वारा बना कर रखा भी नहीं जा सकता है। सीधी सी बात है, यदि उद्धार पाने के बाद, कोई अपने आप को अपने कर्मों के द्वारा “निष्पाप” बनाए रख सकता है, तो वह इसे उद्धार प्राप्त करने से पहले भी कर सकता था। तो फिर प्रभु यीशु को हमारे पापों को अपने ऊपर लेकर हमारे पापों की कीमत चुकाने के लिए हमारे लिए मरने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं थी। साथ ही 1 यूहन्ना 1:7-10 भी देखिए, और ध्यान कीजिए कि “हम” शब्द के उपयोग के द्वारा प्रेरित यूहन्ना अपने आप को भी उन में सम्मिलित कर रहा है जिन्हें निरंतर प्रभु की क्षमा की आवश्यकता पड़ती रहती है; उनमें, जो उद्धार पाने और परमेश्वर की सन्तान (यूहन्ना 1:12-13) बनने के बाद भी पाप करते रहते हैं।

• जब प्रभु ने हमारे पाप क्षमा किए, तब हमारे जीवन भर के सारे पाप क्षमा कर दिए; और उन लोगों के लिए जिनका जन्म प्रभु यीशु की पृथ्वी की सेवकाई के बाद हुआ, प्रभु ने उनके पापों की कीमत चुका कर उन्हें तब क्षमा कर दिया था जब उनका जन्म भी नहीं हुआ था, उन्होंने कोई पाप किया भी नहीं था। साथ ही, ऐसा भी नहीं है कि परमेश्वर ने व्यक्ति के केवल उतने ही पाप क्षमा किए थे जितने पाप उसने प्रभु यीशु मसीह को अपना उद्धारकर्ता ग्रहण करने और उद्धार पाने के समय तक किए थे, और फिर उस पर छोड़ दिया कि इसके बाद वो फिर कोई पाप न करे; और यदि उसने पाप कर दिया, तो फिर उसे परिणाम भुगतने पड़ेंगे, उसका उद्धार जाता रहेगा। यह एक बहुत बेतुकी और व्यर्थ धारणा है, जिसकी बाइबल से कोई समर्थन अथवा पुष्टि कदापि नहीं है। यदि मेरे जन्म लेने से भी पहले, मेरे सारे जीवन भर के सारे पाप क्षमा कर दिए गए हैं, तो प्रकट है कि इन क्षमा किए गए पापों में वे पाप भी सम्मिलित हैं जो मैंने उद्धार पाने के बाद किए हैं। क्योंकि मेरे द्वारा यह भी तो उसी एक जीवन में किया गया है, और प्रभु ने उसी एक जीवन में मुझे 1 यूहन्ना 1:9 के द्वारा बहाल भी कर दिया है।

• उद्धार अनन्तकालीन है (इब्रानियों 5:9; 9:12, 15); और अनन्तकालीन होने का अर्थ है हमेशा के लिए है। यदि उद्धार जा सकता होता तो उसे अनन्त या सदा काल का नहीं कहा जाता। यदि परमेश्वर का वचन उसे अनन्त कहता है, तो फिर जो यह दावा करते हैं कि उद्धार जा सकता है, वे परमेश्वर के वचन में गलतियाँ और असत्य होने का तात्पर्य दे रहे हैं। यदि आप इस बात पर यूहन्ना 1:1, 14 के आधार पर मनन करेंगे, तो उद्धार गंवाया जा सकता है कि इस धारणा का प्रकट अर्थ होगा स्वयं प्रभु यीशु को झूठा कहना, उनके जीवन तथा दावों में गंभीर गलतियाँ होना। ऐसे में फिर उनके यह कहने के, कि वे ही सत्य हैं, परमेश्वर तक पहुँचने का एकमात्र मार्ग हैं (यूहन्ना 14:6) पर कोई कैसे भरोसा कर सकता है?

• क्योंकि परमेश्वर का वचन अनन्तकाल के लिए है, अचूक है, और पूर्णतः सत्य है, कभी बदलेगा नहीं, इसलिए, “सब से बड़ा पापी” होने की उपाधि हमेशा के लिए पौलुस प्रेरित ने ले ली है (1 तीमुथियुस 1:15)। इसलिए, कोई भी, वह चाहे कितना भी जघन्य पापी और गिरा हुआ मनुष्य क्यों न हो, हर हाल में वह पौलुस से कुछ कम पापी और गिरा हुआ ही रहेगा। ऐसे में, यदि पौलुस न केवल उद्धार पा सकता था, वरन उसे लगभग दो-तिहाई नए नियम को लिखने का आदर भी दिया जा सकता था, तो फिर औरों के लिए आशा क्यों नहीं होगी? इसी सन्दर्भ में रोमियों 7:15-24, और फिर रोमियों 7:25-8:2 में पौलुस के प्रत्युत्तर तथा जयघोष को भी देखिए।

    अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि उद्धार को खोया जा सकता है कहने और मानने के क्या अभिप्राय होते हैं।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 11

 

In our study on Christian Believer’s being stewards of God’s Word, we have been considering the ways through which Satan corrupts God’s Word. We have seen that one of the ways Satan does this is by altering the God given text of God’s Word the Bible. To do this alteration Satan uses two methods, one is quite evident – add to the text, or take away from it; and the second method is quite subtle and not easily evident – use Biblical text and facts in an unBiblical way, giving it meanings and implications that originally were never meant or intended with them. The most reliable way of making sure this tampering with God’s Word is accepted and followed, and the people do get misguided is by inducing God’s committed Believers, Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc. to use Biblical text in an unBiblical manner; and for the past few articles, we have been considering about this satanic ploy.

We had seen in the previous article that Satan is greatly helped in this by the fact that the vast majority of Christians do not study the Bible; some may perfunctorily read it, but very few spend time actually studying it. Because of this lack of Biblical knowledge, Satan is able to very easily feed his lies and distortions of the Word, without their being caught and questioned. Rather, the blind-faith and unquestioning attitude seen amongst the vast majority of Christians towards their Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc. and whatever they preach and teach, helps Satan in getting them to say anything in an impressive, appealing, and seemingly logical manner, and get away with it. In this context we have been considering an example of a very commonly seen and believed teaching, but one that is absolutely unBiblical, that salvation has to be maintained by the saved persons by good works or else it can be lost. In trying to understand how this is a satanic lie, and is quite unBiblical, in the previous article we had very briefly seen, Biblically speaking, what it means to be a Christian and being saved or being Born-Again.

Continuing with this same topic, today let us, again very briefly, see why Biblically speaking, salvation is eternal, can never be lost. Some basic and fundamental Biblical Facts related to Salvation are: 

• Salvation is not by works but by the grace of God through the forgiveness of sins granted by God because of the atoning sacrifice of the Lord Jesus for the sins of the entire mankind on the Cross of Calvary (Ephesians 2:1-9) and His resurrection from the dead. No works of any kind can ever make anyone worthy of gaining God’s favor and salvation, because that would mean that those works of a man are equivalent to the works and sacrifice of God the Son, the Lord Jesus – implying that the unholy, sinning, fallible man can do works equivalent to the works of holy sinless infallible God – an absurdity and impossibility. 

• An imperative corollary of this fact is that what cannot ever be gained by work, cannot ever be maintained by any kind of work either. If anyone on his own, through his works, can maintain a “sin-free” status after salvation, then he could as well have done this before salvation. Then, there would have been no need for the Lord Jesus to take our sins upon Himself and die in our place to pay for those sins. Also, see 1 John 1:7-10, and note that the Apostle John, through the use of “we” includes himself amongst those who continually need the Lord’s forgiveness; amongst those who keep sinning even after being saved and having become the child of God (John 1:12-13).

• When the Lord God forgave our sins, He forgave the sins of our entire lifetime; and for people born after the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus, He had paid for and forgiven them their sins even before they were born and had even committed those sins. It is not that God only forgave those sins of a person that he had committed till the day he accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior and was saved, and then left it to him to it that see that he sins no more; and if he did sin after that, then he will have to suffer their consequences, lose his salvation. This is an illogical and absurd thought, with no support or affirmation whatsoever from the Bible. If all my sins, of my entire life, have been forgiven, even before I was born and committed them, then quite evidently these forgiven sins also include the times I have backslidden after my salvation; because this too has happened in that same lifetime, and I was restored by the Lord in that one life, because of 1 John 1:9.

• Salvation is eternal (Hebrews 5:9; 9:12, 15); and eternal means everlasting, beyond the limits of time. If salvation could be lost, then it could not have been called “eternal”. If God’s Word calls it eternal, then those who claim that salvation can be lost, imply that there are errors, and lies, in God’s Word. If you ponder on it in light of John 1:1, 14, then this notion of losing salvation is tantamount to calling the Lord Jesus a liar and of having gross errors in His life and claims. How then can one trust His statement of being “The Truth” and “The Way” to God (John 14:6)?

• The “title” of being the Chief Sinner ever, has already been taken by Paul (1 Timothy 1:15), for all times, since God’s Word is eternal, infallible, and true in its entirety; it will never change. Therefore, anyone, however sinful and fallen he may be, will still remain a lesser sinner than Paul. If Paul could not only be saved, but also be given the honor of writing about two-thirds of the New Testament, why shouldn’t there be the same hope for others? See also Romans 7:15-24, and then Paul’s response and exultation in Romans 7:25-8:2.

In the next article we will consider the implications of saying or believing that salvation can be lost.

 

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

मनुष्य क्यों अपनी शक्ति और युक्ति द्वारा शैतान का सामना कर पाने और उसपर विजयी होने में असमर्थ है, इसे हम तीन बातों के अंतर्गत देखते और सीखते चले आ रहे हैं, जो हैं:

(i) परमेश्वर और उसकी बातें सर्वदा अपरिवर्तनीय तथा अटल और सर्वदा लागू रहती हैं; परमेश्वर जब किसी को कुछ उपहार या वरदान देता है, तो फिर उसे वापस कभी नहीं लेता है। 

(ii) मनुष्यों की तुलना में स्‍वर्गदूतों के कुछ गुण।  

(iii) मनुष्य और स्‍वर्गदूतों का तुलनात्मक स्तर या स्थान।

और हम इनमें से पहली दो पहली दो बातों को देख चुके हैं। आज हम तीसरी बात को देखेंगे, और फिर अगले लेख से इन तीनों बातों के निष्कर्ष और तात्पर्य को देखेंगे।

(iii) मनुष्य और स्‍वर्गदूतों का तुलनात्मक स्तर या स्थान: मनुष्य शैतान का सामना करने में असमर्थ है, क्योंकि अपनी सृष्टि से ही वह स्‍वर्गदूतों से कम सामर्थी और निचले स्तर का बनाया गया है। इसे थोड़ा बारीकी से समझना होगा:

 

प्रभु यीशु मसीह, पृथ्वी के अपने शारीरिक रूप में, पूर्णतः परमेश्वर भी था, और पूर्णतः मनुष्य भी। परमेश्वर होते हुए भी, पृथ्वी पर आने के समय वह अपने परमेश्वरत्व को छोड़ कर, अपने आप को शून्य कर के, मनुष्य का रूप लेकर, मनुष्य की समानता में पृथ्वी पर आ गया (फिलिप्पियों 2:5-8)। 

पृथ्वी पर मनुष्य के रूप में उसके स्तर के विषय इब्रानियों 2:6-10 देखिए: “6:वरन किसी ने कहीं, यह गवाही दी है, कि मनुष्य क्या है, कि तू उस की सुधि लेता है? या मनुष्य का पुत्र क्या है, कि तू उस पर दृष्टि करता है? 7: तू ने उसे स्‍वर्गदूतों से कुछ ही कम किया; तू ने उस पर महिमा और आदर का मुकुट रखा और उसे अपने हाथों के कामों पर अधिकार दिया। 8: तू ने सब कुछ उसके पांवों के नीचे कर दिया: इसलिये जब कि उसने सब कुछ उसके आधीन कर दिया, तो उसने कुछ भी रख न छोड़ा, जो उसके आधीन न हो: पर हम अब तक सब कुछ उसके आधीन नहीं देखते। 9: पर हम यीशु को जो स्‍वर्गदूतों से कुछ ही कम किया गया था, मृत्यु का दुख उठाने के कारण महिमा और आदर का मुकुट पहने हुए देखते हैं; ताकि परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से हर एक मनुष्य के लिये मृत्यु का स्वाद चखे। 10: क्योंकि जिस के लिये सब कुछ है, और जिस के द्वारा सब कुछ है, उसे यही अच्छा लगा कि जब वह बहुत से पुत्रों को महिमा में पहुंचाए, तो उन के उद्धार के कर्ता को दुख उठाने के द्वारा सिद्ध करे।” 

यहाँ पद 8-10 में यह प्रकट है कि यह खंड प्रभु यीशु के विषय है, और इस संदर्भ के साथ पद 6 में “मनुष्य का पुत्र” भी प्रभु यीशु ही है, जो सुसमाचारों में उसका एक उपनाम था, जिसे उसने स्वयं भी अपने लिया प्रयोग किया है (मत्ती 8:20; 9:6; 12:8; मत्ती 16:13)। फिर पद 7 में उसके विषय लिखा गया है कि पृथ्वी पर भेजे जाने पर परमेश्वर ने “मनुष्य के पुत्र” अर्थात प्रभु यीशु को “स्‍वर्गदूतों से कुछ ही कम किया है”। अर्थात, अपनी सांसारिक पार्थिव देह में, मनुष्यों की समानता में होते हुए वह स्‍वर्गदूतों से (एकवचन ‘स्वर्गदूत’ - कोई विशिष्ट स्वर्गदूत नहीं; वरन बहुवचन ‘स्‍वर्गदूतों’ - सभी स्‍वर्गदूतों से) कुछ कम स्तर का हो गया। तात्पर्य यह कि मनुष्य, जिसकी समानता में प्रभु यीशु इस पृथ्वी पर आया, वह अपनी इस स्वाभाविक दशा में न केवल स्‍वर्गदूतों से कम सामर्थी है जैसा हमने ऊपर देखा है, वरन स्‍वर्गदूतों से कम स्तर का भी है। इसीलिए उद्धार पाए हुए मनुष्यों को परमेश्वर से दिए जाने वाले आदर में से एक है कि स्वर्गदूत, उनकी सेवा-टहल करने वाली आत्माएं बना दिए जाते हैं (इब्रानियों 1:14)। यदि सृष्टि के स्वाभाविक क्रम में मनुष्य की वरीयता स्‍वर्गदूतों से ऊपर होती, तो फिर उनके मनुष्यों की सेवा-टहल करने वाले बनाए जाने में मनुष्यों को क्या विशेष आदर मिलता? किन्तु उद्धार पाकर, परमेश्वर की संतान (यूहन्ना 1:12-13) हो जाने के कारण, अब उन उद्धार पाए हुओं के लिए वरीयता क्रम बदल दिया गया है; अब उद्धार पाया हुआ मनुष्य ऊपर और आज्ञाकारी स्वर्गदूत उनसे कम स्तर के कर हो जाते हैं।

इन तीनों बातों को देखने के बाद, अब हम अपने उस मूल विषय पर लौट सकते हैं, जिस से यह विश्लेषण आरम्भ हुआ था, कि निष्पक्ष, खरा, न्यायी, और बुराई तथा पाप से घृणा करने वाला परमेश्वर प्रेरितों 17:30 में यह क्यों कहता है कि यदि लोग अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करने को तैयार हैं, तो परमेश्वर उनके पापों को “अज्ञानता के समयों में किये गये पाप” मानकर, उनके प्रति आनाकानी करके, उनके लिये दण्ड देने के स्थान पर उन्हें क्षमा करने को तैयार है। 

जब पाप और बुराई से घृणा करने वाला परमेश्वर कृपालु और दयालु हो कर पापों को क्षमा करने के लिये तैयार है, तो उसकी इस उदारता और अवसर का लाभ क्यों न उठाया जाए? यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Why The Law Cannot Save Us – 8

Man, on his own, is Incapable of Overcoming Satan - 6

In the previous articles we have been looking into and learning why man, on his own, by his strength and abilities, is incapable of standing up to Satan and overcoming him. We have been considering it under three points; they are:

(i) God and His Word are eternally unchanging, unalterable, firmly established and applicable; what He grants always remains irrevocable and in effect. 

(ii) Some characteristics of angels, in comparison to humans;

(iii) The comparative level or status of humans and angels.

and have seen the first two of these three points. Today we will see the third point, and then from the next article will look at the conclusions of these points and what we can derive from them.

(iii) The comparative level or place of humans and angels: Man is incapable of facing Satan, because from his creation he has not only been made less powerful than angels, but of a lesser status than the angels as well. This has to be understood a little more closely:

The Lord Jesus Christ, in his physical form on earth, was also wholly God, and wholly human. Being God, He emptied Himself when He came to earth in the form of man, and took upon Himself the likeness of man (Philippians 2:5-8).

Regarding His status as a man on earth, ponder over Hebrews 2:6-10: “6: But one testified in a certain place, saying: "What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? 7: You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, and set him over the works of Your hands. 8: You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. 9: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. 10: For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."

Here in verses 8–10 it is clear that this section is about the Lord Jesus, and in this context the phrase "Son of Man" in verse 6 is used for the Lord Jesus, a phrase used for Him, and also by Him in the Gospels. He often called himself by this name (e.g., Matthew 8:20; 9:6; 12:8; Matthew 16:13). Then in verse 7 it is written about him that when He was sent to earth, God made the "Son of man" i.e., Lord Jesus "a little lower than the angels". Implying that in His earthly body, being in the likeness of humans, He became somewhat lower than the angels (not singular 'angel' - i.e., not a specific angel; but plural 'angels' - i.e., all angels). This means that man, in whose likeness the Lord Jesus came to this earth, is not only less powerful than the angels in his natural state, as we have seen above; but is also of a lower status than the angels. That is why one of the God-given honor for saved humans is that angels are made their ministering spirits, to serve them (Hebrews 1:14). If, in the natural order of creation, man already possessed a superiority over angels, then how could it be a special honor for humans to have angels as ministering spirits for them? But having been saved, having become children of God (John 1:12-13), the created order of superiority, for those who are saved is now changed; now the saved man is elevated above and the obedient angels are made lower than him.

Having seen these three things, now we can return to our original point, the one from which this analysis started, that why does the impartial, honest, just God who hates evil and sin, say in Acts 17:30 that if people are willing to repent of their sins, then He is ready to consider their sins as those “done in times of ignorance” and overlook them.

If the God who hates sin and evil is willing to be gracious and merciful and forgive sins, then why shouldn’t one take the benefit of this opportunity and His benevolence? If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेखों में यह देखने के पश्चात कि मसीही विश्वास में, और मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए भला केवल वही है जो संसार और सांसारिकता के मानकों के अनुसार नहीं, वरन केवल परमेश्वर और उस के वचन बाइबल के अनुसार भला है (मरकुस 10:18)। फिर हमने देखा था कि हमारे आदि माता-पिता, आदम और हव्वा के पाप के कारण मनुष्य में पाप की प्रवृत्ति और दशा वंशागत हो गई है (रोमियों 5:12)। इसीलिए हर मनुष्य पाप की प्रवृत्ति तथा दोष के साथ जन्म लेता है (भजन 51:5), और परमेश्वर तथा उसकी बातों से दूर रहता है, उसके साथ संगति नहीं रखने पाता है (यशायाह 59:2)। उस में विद्यमान इस पाप-प्रवृत्ति के करण, जिसका किसी भी मानवीय प्रयास द्वारा कोई समाधान नहीं है, मनुष्य अपने किसी भी कार्य अथवा प्रयास के द्वारा परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में शुद्ध, पवित्र और उसे स्वीकार्य नहीं हो सकता है (यशायाह 64:6; रोमियों 3:10)। बाइबल के अनुसार जो एकमात्र भला है, वह परमेश्वर है, और उसने ही अपनी धार्मिकता और पवित्रता के मानक, अपनी व्यवस्था को हम मनुष्यों को दिया है, जिससे हम परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में भला होने के बारे में सीख और समझ सकें। अब मनुष्यों के सामने एक बहुत बड़ी विडंबना है, परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था के उनके पास होते हुए भी मनुष्य न तो कभी भी उसका पूर्ण पालन करने पाया और न अपने आप को पाप की दशा से निकल पाया - इसका कारण, जैसा कि हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा था, व्यवस्था की वास्तविकता को समझने के बारे में गलतफहमियाँ है। इसलिए नए नियम में आकर, प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने हमारे पापों के समाधान के लिए, व्यवस्था को पूरा किया, अपना बलिदान दिया, और अपने पुनरुत्थान के द्वारा पाप के डंक को तोड़ डाला, और सभी मनुष्यों के परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धर्मी और भला होने का मार्ग उपलब्ध करवा दिया। और यह मार्ग है व्यवस्था के पालन करने के प्रयासों के स्थान पर, स्वेच्छा से, पापों के पश्चाताप के साथ, प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास करना, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगना, तथा उसके आज्ञाकारी एवं समर्पित शिष्य बनाने का निर्णय लेना। अब हमारे सामने प्रश्न है कि परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था मनुष्यों को भला क्यों नहीं बना सकी, उद्धार क्यों नहीं दे सकती है? व्यवस्था की इस असमर्थता को हम आज के इस लेख में और इसके आगे के कुछ लेखों में देखेंगे।

यह समझने से पहले कि व्यवस्था क्यों मनुष्यों को भला नहीं बना सकती है, क्यों उन्हें उद्धार नहीं दे सकती है, हमें परमेश्वर द्वारा व्यवस्था के दिए जाने की पृष्ठभूमि और उससे संबंधित बातों को समझना होगा। प्रत्येक मनुष्य, चाहे वह मसीही हो, या परमेश्वर की चुनी हुई प्रजा इस्राएलियों/यहूदियों में से हो, या अन्य-जातियों में से हो; यदि वह किसी भी ईश्वर पर विश्वास रखता है, तो वह साथ ही अपने अन्दर यह भी मानता और समझता है कि उसे कभी-न-कभी और किसी-न-किसी रीति से उस ईश्वर को अपने जीवन का हिसाब देना है, और किसी-न-किसी रूप में अपने किए का प्रतिफल पाना है। इसी लिए मनुष्य अपने ईश्वर को प्रसन्न रखने के लिए, अपने इस शारीरिक जीवन में कुछ-न-कुछ कार्य या प्रयास अवश्य करता रहता है। मसीही विश्वासी अपने विश्वास के जीवन के द्वारा; यहूदी जन यहोवा की व्यवस्था के पालन के द्वारा; और अन्य-जाति का व्यक्ति अपने कर्मों के द्वारा अपने आप को अपने ईश्वर की दृष्टि में भला, स्वीकार्य, और उत्तम प्रतिफल पाने योग्य ठहराना चाहता है। उसका यह अपेक्षित प्रतिफल चाहे इस पृथ्वी पर सुख और समृद्धि हो, चाहे परलोक में स्वर्ग और उसकी आशीषें हों, या फिर कुछ अन्य-जाति लोगों की मान्यता के अनुसार अच्छा पुनर्जन्म और उस दूसरे जन्म में कुछ उत्तम प्राप्त करना हो।

अर्थात ईश्वर पर आस्था रखने वाले सभी मनुष्यों में एक न एक दिन उनका न्याय होने और अपने किए का परिणाम मिलने का एहसास विद्यमान है, उस व्यक्ति की मान्यता के अनुसार वह ईश्वर चाहे कोई भी हो, और परिणाम किसी भी रीति से मिले। चाहे लोग प्रभु यीशु मसीह और यहोवा को न भी मानते हों, किन्तु उनके विवेक, उनके मन की यह बात, उनमें उनके सृजनहार परमेश्वर यहोवा ने ही डाल कर उन्हें जन्म दिया है कि वे अपने जीवनों के लिए परमेश्वर को उत्तरदायी हैं। जो बाइबल और प्रभु यीशु को जानते और मानते हैं, वे यह भी जानते हैं कि जगत का अन्त होने पर, जिसके चिह्न अब चारों ओर बहुतायत से विद्यमान हैं, यह न्याय प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा ही होगा। जो प्रभु यीशु और यहोवा को नहीं जानते और मानते हैं, वे इस वास्तविक अंतिम न्याय और उससे संबंधित बातों से अनभिज्ञ हैं। इस कारण न्याय की बातों के विषय वे अपनी ही धारणाओं में पड़े हुए हैं। किन्तु अन्ततः प्रभु के न्याय सिंहासन के सामने वे भी खड़े होंगे, और अपना हिसाब देंगे (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10; प्रकाशितवाक्य 20:12-15)।

 

इस न्याय के संदर्भ में बाइबल से दो हवालों को देखिए:

• प्रेरितों 17:30-31 इसलिये परमेश्वर अज्ञानता के समयों की आनाकानी करके, अब हर जगह सब मनुष्यों को मन फिराने की आज्ञा देता है। क्योंकि उसने एक दिन ठहराया है, जिस में वह उस मनुष्य के द्वारा धर्म से जगत का न्याय करेगा, जिसे उसने ठहराया है और उसे मरे हुओं में से जिलाकर, यह बात सब पर प्रमाणित कर दी है।

• रोमियों 2:16 जिस दिन परमेश्वर मेरे सुसमाचार के अनुसार यीशु मसीह के द्वारा मनुष्यों की गुप्त बातों का न्याय करेगा। 

 

इन दो हवालों से कुछ बातें स्पष्ट हैं:

1. सभी का न्याय होना अवश्यंभावी है, चाहे वह प्रभु यीशु को परमेश्वर मानता हो या नहीं; और उस न्याय के होने का वह एक दिन भी परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित किया जा चुका है। 

2. उस न्याय के दिन के लिए, न्याय को करने वाले न्यायी को भी नियुक्त किया जा चुका है; और वह न्यायी प्रभु यीशु मसीह होगा, जिसके विषय, उसे मुर्दों में से जिलाने के द्वारा परमेश्वर पिता ने यह बात सभी पर प्रमाणित और प्रकट कर दी है। 

3. प्रभु यीशु मसीह के द्वारा न्याय, उस के सुसमाचार में दे दी गई बातों के आधार पर किया जाएगा। और ऐसा कुछ नहीं है जो उस न्याय के लिए जाँचे जाने से छुपा रह जाएगा, गुप्त बातें भी प्रकट हो जाएंगी, और व्यक्ति उनके लिए भी जाँचे जाएंगे।  

4.  इसीलिए परमेश्वर हर जगह, सब मनुष्यों को, अभी समय रहते, मन फिराने या पश्चाताप करने की आज्ञा दे रहा है। अर्थात, यदि कोई समाधान है तो वह किसी प्रकार के कर्म नहीं, पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करना और प्रभु यीशु से उनके लिए क्षमा प्राप्त करना है, अन्यथा दण्ड तो पाना ही होगा।

 

हम सभी उद्धार और नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी, इन चारों बातों को भली-भांति जानते हैं; चाहे इनके विषय गंभीरता रखते हों अथवा नहीं! लेकिन इन लेखों और हमारी इस चर्चा के विषय, अर्थात, “व्यवस्था और मसीही विश्वास” के संदर्भ में प्रेरितों 17:30 का आरंभिक वाक्य “इसलिये परमेश्वर अज्ञानता के समयों की आनाकानी करके” रोचक तथा महत्वपूर्ण है। जब हम ध्यान करें कि इस पद का संदर्भ अथेने के लोगों की मूर्तिपूजा और उनके अनेकों देवी-देवता हैं, जिनके कारण पौलुस उनके मध्य यह प्रचार कर रहा है, यह संदेश दे रहा है, तब यह और भी रोचक एवं असमंजस में डालने वाला हो जाता है। 

परमेश्वर जो मूर्तिपूजा से घृणा करता है, उसके लिए यह क्यों लिखा गया कि वह अज्ञानता के समयों की आनाकानी करने को न केवल तैयार है, कर भी रहा है, और उन्हें उनकी मूर्तिपूजा के अनुसार दण्ड नहीं दे रहा है? इसे समझने के लिए हमें मनुष्य की सृष्टि से लेकर अभी तक के समय के इतिहास और घटनाओं को देखना होगा, जिसे हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे। किन्तु अभी के लिए, हम सभी को एक बार फिर सचेत होना है और प्रेरितों 17:30 में दी गई पश्चाताप करने की परमेश्वर की आज्ञा का पालन करना है - और यह परमेश्वर की यह आज्ञा हर जगह सब मनुष्यों के लिए है, जिस में ईसाई समाज के लोग भी ठीक वैसे ही आ जाते हैं जैसे अन्य किसी भी अन्य धर्म अथवा समाज के लोग।

The Law – Part 2 - Biblically, What is the Law? – 3

We have seen in previous articles that in the Christian faith, and for Christians, “good” is not according to the standards of the world and worldly ways, but only according to God and God's Word, the Bible (Mark 10:18). Then we saw that due to the original sin of our fore-parents, Adam and Eve, we have an inherent tendency to sin, sin indwells in man (Romans 5:12). That is why every human being is born with a sin nature and its effects (Psalm 51:5). Therefore, in his natural unregenerate condition man is separated from God and His Word, unable to have fellowship with Him (Isaiah 59:2). Because of his sin nature that has no human remedy, man cannot ever become pure, holy and unacceptable in the sight of God by any of his works or efforts (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10). According to the Bible, the only one good is God; and God has given to us humans, His standard of righteousness and holiness, his Law, so that we can learn and understand what is good in the sight of God. There is a great dilemma  before man, that in spite of having God's Law, man is unable to follow it completely, and is unable to extricate himself out of the state of sin by following the Law of God – the reason as we have seen in the previous articles is a misunderstanding about what the Law actually is. So, in the New Testament, we see that the Lord Jesus, for the solution of our sin problem, fulfilled the Law for us, sacrificed Himself, and through His resurrection from the dead has broken the sting of sin, and made available to all men the way to be righteous and good in the eyes of God. This way is to stop trying to fulfill the Law, instead, to voluntarily repent for our sins, come to faith in the Lord Jesus, ask Him to forgive our sins, and decide to be fully surrendered and committed disciples of the Lord Jesus. But it  leaves the question before us that why could the Law not make man good; could not save him? From today, we will begin to consider the inability of the Law to do this.

    Before we can understand why the Law can't make humans good, why can't it save them, we need to understand the background and related things about God's giving of the Law. Every person, whether a Christian, or from God's chosen people, i.e., the Israelites/Jews; or from the Gentiles; If he believes in any god, he also believes and understands within himself that at some time or the other, and in one way or the other he will have to give an account of his life to that god, and receive the reward or consequences of his deeds and actions. That is why he keeps on trying to do some work or effort in this physical life to keep his god happy. Christians through their lives of faith; Jews by obeying the Law of Jehovah; and the Gentiles by their works, all want to make themselves good, acceptable, and worthy of a good reward in the sight of their god. Their expected reward may be happiness and prosperity on this earth, or it may be attaining to heaven and its blessings in the hereafter, or, according to the belief of some Gentiles, it may be a good rebirth and attainment of something good in that rebirth.

    In other words, all the people who believe in any god have an idea of facing judgement and getting the results of their actions one day, from whoever their god is according to the belief of that person, and in whichever way their god may reward them. Even if people do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and Jehovah, yet within them, their Creator God Jehovah, has also put a conscience that tells them that they are responsible and accountable for their lives to a higher divine authority. Those who know and believe in the Bible and the Lord Jesus also know that at the end of the world, the signs of which are now abundantly evident everywhere, will be judged by the Lord Jesus. Those who do not know and believe in the Lord Jesus and Jehovah, and are ignorant about things related to this final judgment, have their own concepts about the things related to this judgment. But eventually, every one will have to stand before the judgment throne of the Lord Jesus, to give their account to Him (2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 20:12-15).

    In the context of this judgment, look at two Bible quotes:

• Acts 17:30-31 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.

• Romans 2:16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.

     A few things are evident from these two quotes:

1. It is inevitable for all to be judged, whether they believe in the Lord Jesus as God or not; and that the day for that judgment to happen, has already been set and appointed by God.

2. For that Judgment Day, the Judge to do the judgment has also been appointed; And that Judge would be the Lord Jesus Christ. God the Father has provided the proof, and made it known to all, by raising him from the dead.

3. The Lord Jesus Christ will judge on the basis of the things He has already given in His Gospel। There is nothing that will escape being evaluated in that judgment; all the secret things will also be revealed, and people will be evaluated for everything.

4. That's why God is commanding all men everywhere, to repent now while there is time. Because, if there is a solution, it is not through some kind of works, but through repentance for sins and seeking forgiveness for them from the Lord Jesus; else punishment for sins will be inevitable.

 

We all saved and Born-Again Christians, know these four things very well; whether or not we take them seriously, is another matter! But in the context of these articles and our current topic of discussion, i.e., “Law and Christian Faith,” the opening sentence of Acts 17:30, "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked" is not only interesting but also is very important. It becomes even more interesting and intriguing when we consider that the context of this verse refers to the idolatry of the Athenians and their many deities, which is why Paul is preaching this message among them.

Why is it written for God, who hates idolatry, that He is not only willing to overlook their times of ignorance, instead of punishing them according to their idolatry? To understand why God is willing to overlook these times of ignorance, we will very briefly look at the history and events of the time from the creation of man till now, in the next article. But for now, we all have to once again take heed to and obey God's command to repent as given in Acts 17:30 - and this is God’s commandment for all human beings, everywhere, including Christians; since they too come in the purview of “commands all men everywhere to repent” in much the same way as people of any other religion or society.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins, and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins; voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
