पिछले कुछ लेखों से हम परमेश्वर की सच्चे और समर्पित मन से वास्तविक आराधना करने से होने वाले लाभों, तथा मिलने वाली बढ़ोतरी के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं। इसके आधार पर हमने समझा था कि किस प्रकार से आराधना मसीही विश्वासी को शैतान की शक्तियों और युक्तियों के विरुद्ध दिया गया परमेश्वर का एक बहुत उपयोगी और प्रभावी हथियार है। साथ ही यह भी समझा था कि क्यों परमेश्वर चाहता है कि उसके लोग, अपनी वास्तविक उन्नति और लाभ के लिए, उससे केवल प्रार्थना माँगने वाले नहीं, बल्कि प्राथमिक रीति से उसकी आराधना करने वाले हों। हम देख चुके हैं कि आराधना हमारी प्रार्थनाओं को प्रभावी बनाती है, परमेश्वर में हमारे विश्वास को उन्नत तथा दृढ़ करती है, और सुसमाचार प्रचार को, जो प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को प्रभु के द्वारा सौंपी गई ज़िम्मेदारी है, सहज और प्रभावी बनाती है। और इन बातों का कुल मिला कर प्रभाव होता है हमें शैतान की बातों तथा उसकी युक्तियों कि बेहतर समझ प्राप्त होती है, और इसलिये हम उसके द्वारा पाप में फँसाए और गिराए जाने से और भी अधिक सुरक्षित हो जाते हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखना आरंभ किया था कि आराधना हमें भ्रष्ट होने तथा संसार की बातों में खींचे जाने से भी बचाए रखती है। इस बात को हमने रोमियों 12:21-23 से समझा था। आज हम बाइबल के दो अन्य उदाहरणों, बाइबल में दिए गए इस्राएल के इतिहास तथा प्रभु यीशु की चेतावनी के द्वारा इसके बारे में और आगे देखेंगे।
हम पहले देख चुके हैं कि सच्ची आराधना परमेश्वर के वचन पर आधारित होती है। आराधना न होना इस बात का संकेत है कि वचन से दूरी आ गई है। जहाँ वचन से दूरी हुई, वहाँ शैतान को आकर बिगाड़ करने का अवसर मिला, और वह बरबादी लेकर आ जाता है। हम पुराने नियम में दिये गए इस्राएल के इतिहास से इसी बात को बारम्बार देखते हैं। हमने पहले के लेख में, न्यायियों 2 अध्याय से देखा था कि कनान में बस जाने के तुरन्त बाद, इस्राएलियों ने परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखना, समझना, और अपनी भावी पीढ़ियों को उसे सिखाना छोड़ दिया। परिणामस्वरूप, वे परमेश्वर से दूर हो गए, और उसके स्थान पर अपने आस-पास के अन्य-जाति लोगों की बातों को सीख लिया, मूर्ति-पूजा और अन्य बुराइयों में पड़ गए, और अन्ततः उन्हें परमेश्वर की ताड़नाओं का सामना करना पड़ा। ताड़ना आने पर वे कुछ समय के लिए संभालते, सुधरते, और फिर वापस वही गलती दोहरा देते। न्यायियों की पूरी पुस्तक बार-बार घटित होने वाले उनके इसी सुधरने, फिर भूल जाने, भटक जाने, दुख उठाने, परमेश्वर की ताड़ना में पड़ जाने वाले चक्र का लेख है। न्यायियों की पुस्तक का अन्त एक बहुत ही मार्मिक और दुखी करने वाले पद से होता है। इस पुस्तक के अन्तिम पद, न्यायियों 21:25 में इस्राएल की अन्ततः दशा के लिए लिखा है "उन दिनों में इस्राएलियों का कोई राजा न था; जिस को जो ठीक सूझ पड़ता था वही वह करता था।" पुराने नियम में इस्राएल के इतिहास और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं की पुस्तकें भी इसी बात को दोहराती और चिताती हैं। अन्ततः परमेश्वर उन से इतना अघा गया, कि उनके लिये 2 इतिहास 36:16-17 में लिखा है कि परमेश्वर को उन्हें घोर ताड़ना में भेजना पड़ा। और पुराने नियम की अंतिम पुस्तक मलाकी के 1 अध्याय के 10 पद में परमेश्वर उन से तंग आकर यह इच्छा व्यक्त करता है कि बजाए व्यर्थ उसकी उपासना करने के, वे लोग उसके मंदिर के द्वार ही बन्द कर दें, और उसके सामने न आएं। परमेश्वर के इस दुख और टूटे मन का एक और प्रमाण है कि मलाकी से लेकर नए नियम के आरम्भ के मध्य, खामोशी के 400 वर्ष का वह समय है, जब परमेश्वर ने अपनी प्रजा, इस्राएलियों से बातें करना बंद कर दिया। कोई नबी, कोई दर्शन, कोई शिक्षा, कोई चेतावनी, कुछ भी नहीं भेजा।
प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने मत्ती 12:43-45, तथा लूका 11:24-26, में कहा है कि एक बार जब व्यक्ति के हृदय को दुष्टात्मा और उसके प्रभावों से स्वच्छ कर दिया जाता है, तो यदि वह व्यक्ति अपने हृदय को परमेश्वर की भक्ति के विचार और व्यवहार से भरा हुआ और व्यस्त न रखे, तो फिर और दुष्टात्माएँ उसमें लौट कर आ जाती हैं, और उसकी दशा पहली वाली से भी बदतर हो जाती है। प्रभु यीशु ने यह भी कहा है कि प्रत्येक बुरी बात मनुष्य के मन ही में से निकल कर आती है (मरकुस 7:18-23)। इसीलिए सुलैमान ने लिखा है कि “सब से अधिक अपने मन की रक्षा कर; क्योंकि जीवन का मूल स्रोत वही है” (नीतिवचन 4:23); तथा पौलुस कहता है कि हम सदा सद्गुण और भक्ति के विचारों को अपने में बनाए रखें (फिलिप्पियों 4:8-9)। यदि हमारे मन परमेश्वर और उसके वचन की बातों से भरे हुए नहीं होंगे; यदि हम परमेश्वर पर, उसके वचन पर, निरंतर विचार और मनन नहीं करते रहेंगे, यदि हम किसी न किसी प्रकार से परमेश्वर की आराधना में लगे नहीं रहेंगे, तो अवश्य ही शैतान को समय और अवसर मिल जाएगा कि वह अपने विचार, अपनी बातों के बीज हमारे मनों में बो दे; और फिर देर-सवेर उनके विनाशकारी परिणाम हमारे जीवनों में दिखने भी लग जाएँगे। निरंतर आराधना करते रहने की प्रवृत्ति, आराधना का जीवन, आराधना करते रहने का अभ्यास हमें शैतान द्वारा भ्रष्ट करने और विनाश में ले जाने से बचाए रखेगा।
यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Worship – For Safety from Corruption (2)

For the past few articles we have been considering the benefits and growth through honest worship coming from a heart truly surrendered to God. On this basis we had understood how worship is a very useful and effective weapon God has given to the Christian Believers, to stand up to Satan and his ploys. We had also understood from this that God wants that His people should not just be those who keep petitioning Him in prayer, rather, they should primarily be His worshipers. We have seen that worship makes our prayers effective, increases and strengthens our faith in God, and makes preaching the Gospel, which is the Lord given responsibility of every Christian Believer, easier and effective. And, the net result of these is that we get a better understanding about Satan’s way of working and his ploys, therefore, we become safer from getting trapped by him and falling in sin. In the last article we had begun to see that worship keeps us safe from getting corrupted and falling into the ways of the world. We had understood this from Romans 1:21-23. Today, we will look further into this through two examples from the Bible, from the Biblical history of Israel and the warning given by the Lord Jesus.
We have seen earlier that worship is based on God’s Word. Lack of worship is an indicator that a distancing has happened from God’s Word. Wherever there is a distancing from the Word of God, Satan gets an opportunity to enter in and wreak havoc. We see this happening time and again in the history of Israel recorded in the Old Testament. In a previous article we had seen from Judges chapter 2 that soon after settling down in Canaan, the Israelites had stopped learning and understanding God’s Word, and teaching it to their subsequent generations. Consequently, they moved away from God, and instead learnt and picked up, and started following the things done by the Gentiles around them, they fell into idolatry and other evils, and eventually they had to face the chastening of the Lord. Following the chastening, they would take stock of the situation, correct themselves, remain so for sometime, and then repeat the same mistakes all over again. The book of Judges is the record of this repetitive behavior; of the cycle of being corrected, forgetting, falling away, suffering, facing God’s chastening over and over again. The book of Judges ends with a very touching and painful verse. The last verse of this book, Judges 21:25 says “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” The historical books of the Old Testament and the books of the Prophets also keep repeating and warning about the same thing. Finally, God got so fed-up with them that it is written in 2 Chronicles 36:16-17 that He had to send severe chastening upon them. And, in the last book of the Old Testament, in Malachi 1:10, God being fed up of their behavior expresses the desire that instead of vainly venerating Him, He would like someone to close the doors of the Temple, and that none comes before Him. An evidence of the sad and broken heart of God is the fact that from Malachi, till the beginning of the New Testament, there is a silent period of 400 years, when God did not communicate with His people the Israelites, at all. No prophet, no vision, no teaching, no cautions or warnings, nothing was sent by God to them.
The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 12:43-45, and Luke 11:24-26, that after a person’s heart is cleansed from evil spirits and their influences, if he does not keep it occupied with godly thoughts and behavior, the evils spirits return back, and the end condition of the person is far worse than the first one. The Lord also said that all evil things, everything that corrupts a man comes from the heart (Mark 7:18-23). Therefore, Solomon exhorts “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23); and Paul says to keep thinking and pondering over virtuous and godly things (Philippians 4:8-9). If our hearts are not filled with God and His Word; if we are not meditating or thinking about God and His Word all the time; if we are not constantly worshipping God in some manner or the other, Satan will find time and opportunity to plant his thoughts, his ideas into our hearts and draw us to corruption and its deleterious consequences. But if our hearts are full of God’s Word and His worship all the time, Satan will not find place or occasion to plant his seeds of corruption and disaster in our lives. An attitude, life, and continual practice of worship will keep us safe from being enticed away by Satan into corruption and disaster.
If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so – the decision is yours.
