परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 13

 

पिछले कुछ लेखों में, यह दिखाने के लिए कि शैतान किस प्रकार से बाइबल के लेखों को बाइबल के विपरीत तरीके से उपयोग करता है, हम ईसाइयों या मसीहियों में पाई जाने वाली एक बहुत आम धारणा के बारे में देखते आ रहे हैं, कि उद्धार खोया जा सकता है, और उसे भले बनो, भला करो, अर्थात्, कर्मों के द्वारा बना कर रखना होता है; किन्तु बाइबल के अनुसार यह धारणा बिलकुल गलत है। यह समझने के लिए कि बाइबल के अनुसार यह धारणा गलत क्यों है, हमने पिछले लेखों में बाइबल में से देखा था कि उद्धार या नया-जन्म पाने का क्या अर्थ है, यह पारिवारिक अथवा वंशागत नहीं है, और इसमें किसी भी मनुष्य का कोई भी कार्य या प्रयास कारगर नहीं है, और न ही ये बातें व्यक्ति के उद्धार में कोई योगदान देती हैं। यह पूर्णतः और केवल व्यक्ति के लिए परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह से है जो उस पर व्यक्तिगत रीति से किया जाता है। इसके बाद हमने उद्धार खोए जा सकने के अर्थ और तात्पर्यों को देखा था, और यह भी कि इस धारणा को स्वीकार करना परमेश्वर के बुनियादी गुणों पर हमला करना है, परमेश्वर के परमेश्वर होने पर हमला करना है; और इसलिए पूर्णतः असंगत और अस्वीकार्य है। आज हम निष्कर्षों के साथ इस बात का समापन करेंगे कि शैतान किस प्रकार से बाइबल के लेख और तथ्यों का अनुचित उपयोग लोगों से यह मनवाने के लिए करता है कि उद्धार खोया जा सकता है।

शैतान द्वारा एक बुनियादी तर्क उपयोग किया जाता है कि यदि उद्धार हमेशा के लिए है, और कभी खोया नहीं जा सकता है, तब तो उद्धार पाए हुए व्यक्ति को पाप करने का ‘लाइसेंस’ मिल गया है, क्योंकि अब वह निश्चिन्त होकर पाप कर सकता है, बिना किसी दुष्परिणाम की चिंता किए; क्योंकि उसका उद्धार तो कभी जाएगा नहीं। लेकिन जैसा हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है, परमेश्वर ने कभी भी, कहीं भी, यह नहीं कहा है कि उद्धार पाने के बाद मनुष्य अपने कार्यों के लिए कभी जवाबदेह नहीं होगा। पापों के लिए परमेश्वर की क्षमा हमेशा उपलब्ध रहती है, किन्तु साथ ही उसके पथ-भ्रष्ट बच्चों के लिए उसकी ताड़ना भी हमेशा उपलब्ध रहती है। आवश्यकता पड़ने पर वह उनकी ताड़ना, यहाँ तक की भारी ताड़ना भी करता है; मूसा (व्यवस्थाविवरण 3:23-27) और दाऊद (2 शमूएल 12:9-14) जैसे लोग भी अनाज्ञाकारिता करने के लिये उसकी ताड़ना से नहीं बचे।

दूसरा तर्क जो शैतान लेकर आता है, वह है कि उद्धार पाने के बाद, अब यह मनुष्य पर अनिवार्य हो जाता है कि अपने इस स्तर को, अच्छा बनकर अपने अच्छे कर्मों से, बना कर रखे। लेकिन बाइबल में यह बात भी कहीं नहीं लिखी गई है; यह भी शैतानी प्रभाव में आकर मनुष्यों की कोरी कल्पना मात्र है। इसके विपरीत, जैसा की हमने पिछले लेख में देखा है, प्रेरित पौलुस (रोमियों 7:15-24) और यूहन्ना (1 यूहन्ना 1:8-10) के उदाहरण बड़े स्पष्ट और बिना किसी असमंजस के साफ़ दिखाते हैं कि परमेश्वर के उद्धार पाए हुए बच्चों को भी परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह और क्षमा की निरंतर आवश्यकता बनी रहती है। शैतान का यह तर्क उसकी एक युक्ति है मनुष्य को “कर्मों द्वारा धर्मी बनने” की व्यर्थ बात में उलझाने और फंसाने के लिए जिससे वह परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के साथ समय नहीं बिता सके, उस से सीख नहीं सके, और फिर उसके लिए सुसमाचार प्रचार का या अन्य कोई कार्य नहीं कर सके, उसके लिए उपयोगी नहीं बन सके।

तीसरा, यद्यपि वे लोग जो उद्धार खोया जा सकता है के पक्ष में बोलते हैं, वे अपने दावे के समर्थन के लिए बाइबल में से कुछ पद और खण्ड तो दिखाते हैं। किन्तु यदि उन पदों और खण्डों का उनके सन्दर्भ में तथा बाइबल के अन्य भागों के साथ मिलाकर अध्ययन किया जाए तो यह प्रकट हो जाता है कि उनके तर्क बाइबल के लेखों की गलत व्याख्या और दुरुपयोग हैं। साथ ही, सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में कहीं पर भी किसी के भी द्वारा उद्धार खो देने का कोई भी उदाहरण नहीं है। क्योंकि यह इतना महत्वपूर्ण तर्क है, जो व्यक्ति के अनन्तकाल के भविष्य को ही बदल देता है, इसलिए यही अपेक्षा रखी जाती है कि परमेश्वर इसके बारे में बिलकुल स्पष्ट होगा, कुछ उदाहरणों के द्वारा उसे दिखाएगा और समझाएगा, इस बात को किसी के द्वारा बाइबल के पदों को उनके सन्दर्भ से बाहर लेकर की गई व्याख्या पर नहीं छोड़ देगा। किन्तु उद्धार के खोए जा सकने के तर्क के विपरीत, हम बाइबल में जो देखते हैं वह है कि, सम्पूर्ण बाइबल में परमेश्वर बारंबार यह दिखाता और आश्वासन देता आ रहा है कि यद्यपि वह पाप और बुराई को दंड देगा, अपने लोगों, अपने बच्चों की भी ताड़ना करेगा; और यदि आवश्यक हुआ तो बहुत कठोर होकर घोर ताड़ना भी करेगा; किन्तु कभी भी, किसी भी परिस्थिति में, उन्हें जिन्हें उस ने अपना बना लिया है, न तो छोड़ेगा और न त्यागेगा। यद्यपि परमेश्वर के लोग उसे जवाबदेह हैं, और निश्चय ही उन्हें अपने जीवनों का हिसाब उसे देना होगा, ताकि उनके अनुसार अपने प्रतिफल पाएँ (रोमियों 14:10; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10); किन्तु वे कभी भी, किसी भी तरीके से, किसी के भी द्वारा, उससे अलग करके ले जाए नहीं जा सकते हैं (यूहन्ना 10:28-29)।

इसलिए, किसी भी रीति से देखें, उद्धार खोया जा सकता है प्रचार करने और सिखाने की यह शैतानी युक्ति न तो सत्य है और न ही बाइबल के अनुसार है; चाहे इसे सिखाने वाला कोई भी परमेश्वर का प्रतिबद्ध जन, कलीसिया का प्रमुख व्यक्ति या अगुवा, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि में से कोई क्यों न हो। यह इस बात को दिखाता है कि शैतान अपनी दुष्ट चालों को सफल बनाने के लिए परमेश्वर के धर्मी लोगों का भी अधर्मी रीति से, बाइबल के लेखों और तथ्यों का बाइबल के विपरीत रीति से उपयोग कर सकता है और करता भी है, चाहे उसे परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के प्रमुख लोगों तथा अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि के द्वारा ही अपना दुष्ट काम क्यों न करवाना पड़े। अगले लेख में हम पवित्र शास्त्र के लेखों में जोड़ने या घटाने के उदाहरणों से बाइबल के लेखों में फेर-बदल के बारे में देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word - 13

 

In the last few articles, to illustrate how Satan induces people to use a Biblical text in an unBiblical way, we have been considering about a very commonly seen and accepted notion amongst Christians, that salvation can be lost and it has to be maintained by being good and doing good, i.e., by works; but Biblically it is an absolutely incorrect concept. To understand why Biblically this concept is wrong, in the preceding articles we have seen from God’s Word the Bible what it means to be saved or Born-Again; that it is not familial, and how no human work or effort of any kind neither is ever involved, nor contributes in any manner to a person’s salvation. It is purely and totally the work of God’s grace towards the person, as an individual. We then saw the meanings and implications of accepting the notion that salvation can be lost, and how accepting this idea, hits at the very basic characteristics of God, at God being God; and is therefore absolutely untenable. Today we will conclude on how Satan misuses Biblical facts and texts inappropriately to convince people into believing that accepting the argument of salvation can be lost is logical and acceptable.

The basic argument misused by Satan is that if salvation is eternal, and can never be lost, then the saved person has now got a ‘licence to sin’, since he can sin with impunity, with no fear of any consequences; since his salvation will never be lost. But as we have seen in the previous article, God has nowhere ever said that after salvation man will never be accountable for his deeds. God’s forgiveness for sins is always available, but so is His chastisement for His wayward children. Whenever necessary He chastens His children, if required quite severely; even people like Moses (Deuteronomy 3:23-27) and David (2 Samuel 12:9-14) were not spared retribution for disobedience.

The second argument that Satan brings is that once being saved, it is now binding upon man that he should maintain this status by being good and doing good. But the Bible does not say this anywhere, it is a figment of man’s imagination under satanic influences. On the contrary, as we have seen in the previous article, the examples of the Apostles, Paul (Romans 7:15-24) and John (1 John 1:8-10), show very clearly and unambiguously that even the saved children of God continually need God’s grace and forgiveness for their sins. This is just another of Satan’s ploys to drive man into getting entangled in the vanity of “righteousness by works”, instead of spending time with God, His Word, learning from Him, and then working for Him to spread the gospel or in some other manner, and being fruitful for Him.

Thirdly, although those who argue in favor of salvation can be lost, do show some Biblical verses to substantiate their claims. But if these verses are studied in their context and along with other relevant Bible passages, it becomes clear that their argument is a misinterpretation and misuse of Biblical text. Moreover, there is no example in the whole of the Bible of any one ever losing their salvation. Since this is such a crucial argument, that entirely changes one’s eternal future, it is only to be expected that God would be very clear about this, see to it that there is no ambiguity about it, and illustrate it through some examples, instead of leaving it on someone’s interpretation of some Biblical verses taken out of context. But, on the contrary what we see is that God keeps assuring and illustrating throughout the Bible, that though He will punish sin and iniquity, chastise even in His people, His children; and if required do this with considerable severity; but He will never, under any circumstance, neither leave nor forsake those whom He has accepted as His own. Though God’s people are accountable to Him and will surely have to give an account of their lives to Him, and receive their rewards accordingly (Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10); but they can never, by any means, ever be taken away from Him by anyone (John 10:28-29).

Hence, whichever way we look at it, this satanic ploy of preaching and teaching that salvation can be lost is just not true, not Biblical; no matter which God’s committed Believer, Church leader or elder, Bible preacher or teacher may say it. It shows how Satan can misuse God’s people in an ungodly way, and Biblical texts and facts in an unBiblical way, to suit his nefarious purposes; even by getting it done by God’s committed Believers, Church leaders and elders, Bible preachers and teachers, etc. In the next article we will look at examples from the Bible of alteration of Scriptural text by adding to it, or taking away from it.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि हव्वा को भले और बुरे में अंतर करने का ज्ञान पाकर, ‘परमेश्वर के तुल्य’ हो जाने का लालच देने के द्वारा शैतान ने पहले हव्वा को और फिर उसके द्वारा आदम को पाप में गिराया था। यहाँ एक ध्यान देने योग्य बात, शैतान की एक कुटिल युक्ति छुपी हुई है। जैसे हम उत्पत्ति 1 अध्याय से दखते हैं, परमेश्वर ने सृष्टि का कार्य करते समय, प्रत्येक दिन के अन्त में उस दिन के कार्य को अच्छा कहा, और फिर सारा कार्य पूरा करने के अन्त में सब कुछ का अवलोकन करके, समस्त सृष्टि को बहुत अच्छा कहा था (उत्पत्ति 1:31)। साथ ही, जब शैतान ने हव्वा से बात की थी, उस समय तक संसार में पाप नहीं था। वह और आदम तथा सृष्टि में अन्य सभी कुछ निष्पाप दशा में थे; आदम और हव्वा परमेश्वर के साथ खुली और निर्बाध संगति रखते थे। तो अब ऐसी अद्भुत स्थिति में रहते हुए हव्वा को “बुरे” या “बुराई” के ज्ञान की आवश्यकता क्यों अनुभव हुई? उस “बुरे” या “बुराई” का ज्ञान पाकर, जो सृष्टि में, पृथ्वी पर, अदन की वाटिका में था ही नहीं; और यदि हव्वा परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में बनी रहती, तो कभी होता भी नहीं, हव्वा को क्या लाभ होता? उस स्थिति में तो उसके और आदम के लिये वह ज्ञान व्यर्थ और पूर्णतः अनावश्यक था; तो फिर उसे उपयोगी या आवश्यक क्यों समझना? किन्तु फिर भी वह उस व्यर्थ और अनावश्यक बात को प्राप्त करने के लालच में फंस गई। शैतान आज भी मनुष्यों को इसी प्रकार से अनेकों प्रकार की व्यर्थ और अनावश्यक बातों के लालच में फुसलाकर, बुरा यानि कि पाप करने में फँसा देता है, जिसमें फंस कर फिर वे जीवन भर उलझे पड़े रहते हैं, हानि उठाते हैं।

 

हव्वा के मूर्खता में पड़ने और फँसने का परिणाम था कि आदम और हव्वा ने भले और बुरे में अंतर करने का ज्ञान तो पाया, किन्तु हमेशा के लिए बुराई से बचे रहने और भला ही करते रहने की क्षमता गँवा दी। वे और उनकी भावी संतान पाप के द्वारा दूषित हो गईं, और उसी समय से मनुष्य में जो उसे अच्छा लगता है वही करने तथा परमेश्वर और उसके वचन की अनाज्ञाकारिता में रहने की प्रवृत्ति भी प्राप्त कर ली। इस प्रवृत्ति के द्वारा शैतान ने मानवजाति को कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी बनने, ‘भले बनो भला करो’ के सिद्धान्त का पालन कर के ही परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य होने, और स्वर्ग में रहने के योग्य हो जाने के व्यर्थ उद्यम में फँसा लिया। प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा समस्त मानव जाति के पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए अपना बलिदान देने और परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह द्वारा प्रभु यीशु मसीह में विश्वास करने से मिलने वाले उद्धार का मार्ग खुल जाने के बाद शैतान के द्वारा मनुष्यों को, विशेषकर उन्हें जिन्होंने प्रभु यीशु पर विश्वास किया था, अपनी इस कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी होने की युक्ति में फँसाने को बड़ा झटका लगा।

परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह और प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास के द्वारा पापों की क्षमा और अनन्तकालीन उद्धार प्राप्त होने के कारण, मसीही विश्वासी पर शैतान की पकड़ जाती रही। इसलिए, अपनी उस पकड़ को वापस प्राप्त करने, और मसीही विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर से, उसके वचन की आज्ञाकारिता से दूर खींच लेने के लिए शैतान को कुछ तरीका निकालना था। शैतान ने यह दो कार्य-विधियों को बनाने के द्वारा किया; पहली विधि यह कि लोगों के मनों में उद्धार के अनन्तकालीन होने के बारे में गंभीर सन्देह उत्पन्न करना; और दूसरी विधि यह कि विश्वासियों को अपने उद्धार को बनाए रखने के लिए कर्मों के द्वारा धर्मी बने रहने की आवश्यकता में भरोसा दिलाना। इन विधियों को कार्यान्वित एवं विश्वसनीय दिखाने के लिये, और मसीही विश्वासियों को इन तथा अन्य बातों के बारे में बहकाने और भरमाने का शैतान का सर्वोत्तम और सबसे कारगर उपाय है, उनका, जिस पर विश्वासी सबसे अधिक भरोसा करते हैं उसी का, अर्थात् बाइबल की बातों का और परमेश्वर के समर्पित तथा प्रतिबद्ध लोग, जो बाइबल की बातों को सिखाते और प्रचार करते हैं, उन्हीं का दुरुपयोग करना।

 

इन कार्य-विधियों को सफलतापूर्वक लागू करने के लिए शैतान परमेश्वर के प्रतिबद्ध लोगों, कलीसिया के अगुवों, बाइबल के प्रचारकों तथा शिक्षकों आदि का प्रयोग करता है। परमेश्वर के ये प्रतिबद्ध लोग यह गलती इसलिये कर बैठते हैं, क्योंकि अब उनमें “भले और बुरे के ज्ञान” की समझ रखने की उनकी शारीरिक प्रवृत्ति है। संसार और साथ के लोगों से मिलने वाली प्रशंसा, स्वीकृति, और अनुमोदन के कारण जब वे स्वयं को वचन के ज्ञाता, परमेश्वर द्वारा उपयोग किये जाने वाले, तथा लोगों के मध्य एक हैसियत रखने वाले समझने लगते हैं, तब वे 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:12 में सचेत किये गये फंदे में फँसाए जाने की स्थिति में आ जाते हैं। ऐसे में यदि वे सचेत नहीं रहे, उनमें “अपने भले और बुरे का ज्ञान रखने, और उनकी पहचान करने” का घमण्ड आया, तो शैतान तुरन्त ही उन के द्वारा, उनकी अपनी धारणाओं और समझ के अनुसार, बाइबल के लेखों का उपयोग करवाने लगता है, और वे बाइबल की बातों को बाइबल के विपरीत अर्थों और अभिप्रायों के साथ उपयोग करवाने लगता है। और उन बाइबल के शिक्षकों एवं प्रचारकों के अन्ध-भक्त, जो उनकी हर बात को बिना जाँचे-परखे स्वीकार करते रहते हैं, उनकी गलतियों को फैलाते रहते हैं। उन शिक्षकों, प्रचारकों, और उनके अनुयायियों द्वारा प्रसारित होने वाली गलत शिक्षा और अनुचित व्याख्या के कारण, उनके उपदेशों को सुनने वाले विश्वासियों के मनों में कई प्रकार के सन्देह और असमंजस उत्पन्न हो जाते हैं, जिनके कारण वे परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखने और उसके वचन का आज्ञाकारी बने रहने के मार्ग से भटक जाते हैं; और मनुष्यों तथा मनुष्यों द्वारा गढ़ी गई बातों को मानने और पालन करने लगते हैं।

हम इस विचार को अगले लेख में और गए बढ़ाएंगे, तथा एक अन्य मानवीय प्रवृत्ति के बारे में भी देखेंगे, जिसे शैतान अपने उद्देश्यों के लिये प्रयोग करता है।

Altering God’s Word - 8

 

In the previous article we have seen that by enticing Eve to know how to discern between good and evil, and thereby become ‘like God’, Satan first made her, and then through her, Adam also to fall in sin. There is a hidden noteworthy point, a devious tactic of Satan here. As we see from Genesis chapter 1, while performing the work of creation, God called the work of each day 'good' at its end; and then, after completing the entire work and reviewing everything, He called the whole of creation 'very good' (Genesis 1:31). Furthermore, until the time Satan spoke with Eve, there was no sin in the world. She, Adam, and everything else in creation were in a sinless state; Adam and Eve had an open and uninterrupted fellowship with God. So, while living in such a wonderful state, why did Eve feel the need for the knowledge of 'bad' or 'evil'? What benefit would Eve gain by obtaining the knowledge of that 'bad' or 'evil' which did not even exist in creation, on earth, or in the Garden of Eden? And which, if Eve had remained in obedience to God, never would have existed? In the state that they were, such knowledge was useless and entirely unnecessary for her and Adam; so then, why consider it useful or necessary at all? Yet, she still fell for the greed of obtaining a useless and unnecessary thing. Even today, Satan entices humans into sin or evil by luring them with many such useless and unnecessary things, and after falling for those vain things, they then remain entangled throughout their lives and suffer loss.

The net result of Eve’s folly was that though Adam and Eve learnt how to discern between good and evil, but forever lost the capability of always avoiding evil and doing good. They and their progeny got tainted by sin, and since then, all men also developed the tendency of always doing what seemed right to them, of disobeying God and His Word. Through this tendency, Satan has had mankind trapped in the vain pursuit of becoming righteous by works, following the doctrine of ‘be good do good’ to become righteous and acceptable to God and qualify for heaven. After the Lord Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for atonement of sin of the entire mankind, and opening the way of salvation for everybody by the grace of God, through faith in Him, Satan’s ploy of entangling man, particularly those who believed in the Lord Jesus, in the vanity of righteousness by works suffered a big setback.

Because of forgiveness of sins and eternal salvation received by God’s grace through faith in the Lord Jesus, Satan lost his hold on the Christian Believer. Therefore, to get his hold back on them, and to draw the Christian Believers away from following God and obeying His Word, Satan had to devise some means. Satan achieved this by devising two strategies; firstly, of creating serious doubts amongst them about their salvation being eternal; and secondly, to pull the Believers back into the satanic trap of staying righteous by works to maintain their salvation. To make these methods appear trustworthy and implement them, and to mislead and deceive Christian Believers regarding these and other matters, the best and most effective satanic method is to misuse what the Believers trust the most, i.e., the teachings of the Bible, and the people devoted and committed to God who teach and preach the things of the Bible.

In order to successfully implement these methods, Satan makes use of God’s committed people — the church leaders, preachers and teachers of the Bible, and others. These devoted people of God fall into this error because they now have the fleshly tendency of having an understanding of the “knowledge of good and evil.” Because of the praise, acceptance, and approval they receive from the world and from the people around them, when they begin to consider themselves as knowledgeable in the Word, as those being used by God, and as having a certain status among people, then they come into a position where they are vulnerable to be trapped by the snare cautioned about 1 Corinthians 10:12. In such a situation, if they are not vigilant, and if pride arises in them because they “possess the knowledge of knowing and discerning good from evil,” then Satan immediately begins to make them use the things written in the Bible, according to their own concepts and understanding of the text, and bringing in meanings and intentions that are contrary to the Bible itself. And the blind devotees of such Bible teachers and preachers, since they keep accepting everything being said without examining or checking it out, continue spreading the errors. Because of the wrong teachings and improper interpretations that are spread by those teachers, preachers, and their followers, many kinds of doubts and confusions arise in the minds of Believers that listen to their messages. As a result, they stray from the path of trusting in God and remaining obedient to His Word; and instead, they begin to believe and follow human beings and the things fabricated by human beings.

We will carry on with this consideration in the next article as well, and consider another human tendency that Satan uses for his purposes.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there are respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेखों में हमने मूसा द्वारा इस्राएल के मिस्र से छुड़ाए जाने, और फिर परमेश्वर की आज्ञा पर उसकी उपासना के लिए एक तम्बू बनाए जाने के उदाहरणों से देखा है कि परमेश्वर के प्रति आज्ञाकारिता का अर्थ जो परमेश्वर ने जो कहा है केवल उसे करना ही नहीं होता है, बल्कि साथ ही जैसा परमेश्वर ने कहा है उसके अनुसार, उसी तरीके से ही करना भी होता है। क्योंकि अब हमारे हाथ में परमेश्वर का लिखित वचन विद्यमान है, जिसमें परमेश्वर के निर्देश दिए गए हैं कि परमेश्वर के लोगों को क्या करना है और क्या नहीं करना है; किस तरीके से करना है और किस तरीके से नहीं करना है; और क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने अपना पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के अन्दर, परमेश्वर के मार्गों में चलने और उसकी सहायता और मार्गदर्शन के लिए प्रदान कर रखा है, इसलिए अब कोई भी व्यक्ति किसी भी बात के लिए अपनी ही धारणा नहीं बना सकता है, परमेश्वर की बातों के साथ अपनी इच्छानुसार व्यवहार नहीं कर सकता है, परमेश्वर के कहे को टाल कर उस बात को अपनी ही धारणा या किसी अन्य मनुष्य के विचारों और निर्देशों के अनुसार करने के लिए अपने आप को स्वतंत्रता नहीं मान सकता है।

अगले दो लेखों में हम पुराने नियम से चार उदाहरण देखेंगे जो बाइबल के इस सिद्धान्त की और दृढ़ता से पुष्टि करते हैं। आज हम दो उदाहरण देखेंगे, दोनों ही इस्राएल के प्रथम राजा – राजा शाऊल के जीवन से हैं। इन दोनों में ही हम देखते हैं कि उसने कुछ ऐसा किया जो देखने में तो परमेश्वर के लिए किया गया भक्ति और श्रद्धापूर्ण कार्य प्रतीत होता था, किन्तु उसने जो किया वह वास्तव में भक्ति के रूप में परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता थी; और फिर जब उसे सुधरने का अवसर दिया गया उसने न तो अपनी गलती को माना, न पश्चाताप किया, और न अपना मार्ग बदला। परिणाम स्वरूप, उसे अपनी इस ढिठाई के कारण अपना राज्य गँवाना पड़ा। शेष दो उदाहरण हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे। ये सभी बाइबल के इस उपरोक्त सिद्धान्त की पुष्टि करते हैं, जो परमेश्वर के प्रति आज्ञाकारी होने और अच्छे मसीही भण्डारी होने के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में दिया गया है।

इस अनाज्ञाकारिता का पहला उदाहरण 1 शमूएल 13 अध्याय में दिया गया है, जहाँ शाऊल पलिश्तियों के साथ युद्ध करने के लिए गया, और उसने युद्ध के लिए इस्राएलियों को एकत्रित होने के लिए कहा (13:1-4)। किन्तु पलिश्तियों की विशाल और बलशाली सेना को देखकर इस्राएलियों की हिम्मत जाती रही (13:5-7)। शाऊल प्रतीक्षा में था कि शमूएल उसके पास, अपने द्वारा निर्धारित समय के अनुसार आएगा, और युद्ध में उन के जाने से पहले उन के लिए याजकीय कार्यविधि के अनुसार परमेश्वर को बलिदान चढ़ाएगा। लेकिन शमूएल नियुक्त समय पर नहीं पहुँचा; और क्योंकि लोग शाऊल और युद्धभूमि को छोड़कर वापस जाने लग गए थे (13:8), इसलिए शाऊल ने बात को अपने हाथ में लिया और स्वयं ही वे बलिदान चढ़ा दिए (13:9)। तब ही शमूएल भी पहुँच गया, और यह पता चलने पर कि शाऊल ने क्या किया है, उसे डाँटा। यद्यपि शाऊल ने अपनी ओर से एक उचित प्रतीत होने वाला तर्क दिया, फिर भी परमेश्वर ने शमूएल में होकर उससे कह दिया कि यह करने के कारण उसका राज्य बना नहीं रहेगा (1 शमूएल 13:11-14) – परमेश्वर की ओर से एक कड़ी चेतावनी दी गई, कि या तो अपने मार्ग सुधार ले अन्यथा परिणाम भुगतने के लिए तैयार हो जाए। हम यहाँ पर देखते हैं कि शाऊल ने जो किया, परमेश्वर उस से प्रसन्न नहीं हुआ, उसने शाऊल द्वारा चढ़ाए गए बलिदानों को स्वीकार नहीं किया, यद्यपि यह परमेश्वर के प्रति भक्ति और श्रद्धा के अंतर्गत, और एक मजबूरी की स्थिति में किया गया था। शाऊल ने वह तो किया था जो परमेश्वर चाहता था, किन्तु वैसे नहीं किया था, जैसे परमेश्वर चाहता था, जो तरीका उसने निर्धारित किया हुआ था। और इसलिए यह कार्य शाऊल के लिए लाभ का नहीं, वरन हानि का कारण ठहरा।

इसी प्रकार से हम 1 शमूएल 15 अध्याय में देखते हैं कि परमेश्वर ने शमूएल में हो कर राजा शाऊल को निर्देश दिए कि अमालेकियों पर आक्रमण करे और उन्हें तथा उनका जो कुछ भी था, उसे पूर्णतः नष्ट कर दे, किसी भी वस्तु को नहीं बचा रखे (15:1-3)। शाऊल ने सेना को एकत्रित किया और अमालेकियों पर आक्रमण किया (15:4-8); किन्तु सभी अमालेकियों और उनके सब कुछ को नष्ट करने की  बजाए, शाऊल ने लोगों के डर के मारे, इस्राएलियों को अपने लिए सबसे अच्छे पशु बचा कर रख लेने दिए (15:9, 24)। शाऊल के द्वारा दिखाया गया यह परमेश्वर के भय से बढ़कर मनुष्य का भय रखना परमेश्वर तथा शमूएल को बहुत बुरा लगा (15:10-11)। किन्तु शाऊल का इसके बाद का व्यवहार दिखाता है कि इस अनाज्ञाकारिता के लिए उसके मन में कोई ग्लानि, कोई पछतावा नहीं था, उसने इसे अपनी एक बहुत बड़ी विजय समझा, और अपने लिए स्मारक भी खड़ा करवा लिया (15:12)। जब उसकी इस अनाज्ञाकारिता के लिए शमूएल उससे बात करने के लिए गया, शाऊल ने पहले ही अपने आप को सही ठहराने और झूठ बोलकर जवाबदेही से बचने का प्रयास किया (15:13)। लेकिन जब शमूएल ने तब भी उसका सामना किया, तो उसने एक और झूठ बोला, कि वे पशु परमेश्वर को बलि चढ़ाने के लिए बचाए गए थे (15:14-15)। तब शमूएल उसे डाँटता है, किन्तु साथ ही उसे अपनी गलती को मान लेने और पश्चाताप करने का एक अवसर भी देता है (15:16-19)। किन्तु शाऊल फिर भी अपनी गलती को नहीं मानता है, पश्चाताप नहीं करता है, बल्कि अपने बचाव के लिए और अपने आप को सही ठहराने के लिए तर्क देता है (15:20-21)। तब शमूएल उसे परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए निर्देशों की आज्ञाकारिता के महत्व, उसके सर्वोपरि होने की बात कहने के साथ उसे परमेश्वर के फैसले के बारे में बताता है, कि परमेश्वर ने उसका तिरस्कार कर दिया है (15:22-23)। अब, यद्यपि यह सुनकर, शाऊल गलती मान लेता है, पश्चाताप करता है, किन्तु अब बहुत देर हो चुकी थी। शाऊल के बहुत आग्रह करने पर, उसकी साख रखने के एक प्रदर्शन के बाद शमूएल उस से मुँह मोड़कर चला जाता है, और उसके बाद शाऊल की मृत्यु तक फिर कभी शाऊल से नहीं मिलता है (15:24-35)।

इन दोनों ही घटनाओं में हम देखते हैं कि शाऊल के पास परमेश्वर का वचन आया, किन्तु उसने उस वचन को अपनी ही समझ और परिस्थिति के अनुसार लिया, न कि उसके प्रति एक प्रतिबद्धता और सही रवैया दिखाया। शाऊल ने परमेश्वर के वचन को अपने जीवन में उसका उचित महत्व नहीं दिया, और उसे कीमत चुकानी पड़ी। एक बार फिर से परमेश्वर के वचन का सन्देश हमारे सामने स्पष्ट है, न केवल परमेश्वर के कहे को करना है, वरन जैसा परमेश्वर ने बताया है उसे वैसे ही करना है, तब ही वह परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता माना जाएगा। जो परमेश्वर की बातों को अपनी ही धारणा के अनुसार लेते हैं, और अपनी ही इच्छा के अनुसार काम करते हैं, और फिर यह अपेक्षा रखते हैं कि परमेश्वर उनके प्रयासों को स्वीकार करेगा और उन प्रयासों के लिए उन्हें आशीष देगा, उन्हें अपनी इस ढिठाई और अनाज्ञाकारिता के लिए परमेश्वर के न्याय को झेलना ही पड़ेगा।

Improper Behavior Towards God’s Word - 7

 

In the previous articles we have seen from the incidence of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt through Moses, and then through God’s commanding them to build a Tabernacle for Him for His worship, that obedience to God not only means doing what God has asked to be done, but also means doing it the way God has said it has to be done. Since now we have God’s written Word available in our hands, containing God’s instructions for His people, what to do and what not to do; how to do and how not to do; and since God has also placed His Holy Spirit in each and every Believer to help and guide him in the ways of God; therefore now no person can assume things, take things into his own hands and do what God has commanded to be done in a way that they or some other persons have thought up, and in any manner that seems right for men to do.

In the next two articles, we will see four examples from the Old Testament to further illustrate this principle. We will see two examples today, both from the life of King Saul – the first king of Israel. In both of them he apparently seemed to be reverential and doing things for God, but what he in a seemingly reverential manner did, was actually disobedience of God; and when given the opportunity for correction, he did not confess, repent, or change his ways. Consequently, he lost his kingdom because of this persistent disobedience. The other two examples we will see in the next article. They all serve to further illustrate and affirm this Biblical principle related to obedience to God and Christian Stewardship to God’s instructions in His Word the Bible.

The first incidence of this disobedience is in 1 Samuel 13, where Saul has gone into battle with the Philistines, and had sent for the Israelites to assemble for the battle (13:1-4). But seeing the great and mighty army of the Philistines, the Israelites lost courage (13:5-7). Saul was waiting for Samuel to come according to the time set by him for making the offerings to God according to the priestly functions, before getting into the battle. But Samuel did not reach at the appointed time; and since the people had started to run away from Saul and the battle (13:8), therefore, Saul took matters into his own hands and himself offered the sacrifices and offerings to God (13:9). Just them Samuel reached, and on learning what Saul had done admonished him. Though Saul offered a plausible explanation of why he had done it, yet God, through Samuel, told him that because of this his kingdom will not continue (1 Samuel 13:11-14) – a stern warning from God to either mend his ways or face the consequences. We see here that God was not impressed with what Saul did, and did not accept the offerings and sacrifices Saul made, even though it was done in reverence to God, and seemingly under a compulsion. Saul had done what God wanted, but not in the manner ordained by God, and therefore it turned out to be for his harm, not good.

Similarly, we see in 1 Samuel 15 that God, through Samuel, instructs Saul to attack the Amalekites, and utterly destroy them and whatever they had, saving nothing whatsoever (15:1-3). Saul gathered the army and attacked the Amalekites (15:4-8); but instead of destroying everyone and everything, Saul allowed the Israelites to keep the best animals for themselves, out of fear of the people (15:9, 24). This fear and obedience to man over and above the fear and obedience to God by Saul greatly displeased God and Samuel (15:10-11). But his subsequent behavior shows that Saul had no remorse for what he had done, he thought of it as a great victory, and set up a monument for himself (15:12). When Samuel met him to confront him about his disobedience, Saul tried to pre-empt him and lie his way out of the situation (15:13). But when Samuel confronted him, he told another lie, that the animals were saved to offer sacrifices to God (15:14-15). Then Samuel admonishes him, but gives him another chance to accept his error and repent (15:16-19); but Saul still does not confess and repent, rather defends and justifies himself (15:20-21). It is then that Samuel, stating the importance and primacy of obedience to God’s instructions, delivers God’s verdict to him, that he has been rejected by God (15:22-23). Now, on hearing this, although Saul confesses and repents, but now it is too late. At Saul’s pleading, after permitting him a face-saving gesture before the people Samuel walks away from Saul, never to see him again till his death (15:24-35).

In both instances we see that Saul received God’s Word, but interpreted and understood it according to his own thinking about the situation, instead of showing a commitment and proper attitude towards it. Saul failed to give God’s Word its due importance in his life, and paid the price. Once again, the message of God’s Word is clear, not only doing what God has said, but also doing it in the manner God has said actually makes for obedience to God. Those who assume things and act on their own, and then expect God to accept their efforts and bless them for those efforts, will have to suffer God’s judgment for their persistently disobedient ways.

I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands."
