परमेश्वर के वचन से उचित व्यवहार – 14

 

पिछले कुछ लेखों में हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:6 से देखते आ रहे हैं कि पौलुस कैसे स्वयं उस से जो परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखा हुआ है, कभी भी आगे नहीं बढ़ा, यद्यपि वह पवित्रशास्त्र की व्याख्या करने और प्रचार करने के लिये अति उत्तम प्रशिक्षण पाया हुआ था। और, उसने अपने तथा अपुल्लोस के उदाहरण के द्वारा, कलीसिया को भी यही करने की शिक्षा दी। साथ ही उसने बलपूर्वक यह निर्देश भी दिया कि कलीसिया में किसी भी कारण से, कोई भी गुट या विभाजन नहीं होना है। और न ही मसीही विश्वासियों को प्रभु का अनुसरण करने के स्थान पर, अगुवों या मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करना है। आज हम कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली को लिखी पौलुस की दूसरी पत्री के एक पद को देखना आरम्भ करेंगे, यह सीखने के लिए कि लोग किस प्रकार से और क्यों, अपनी स्वार्थ-सिद्धि और साँसारिक लाभ अर्जित करने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन में लिखी हुई बातों से आगे जाते हैं।

पौलुस 2 कुरिन्थियों 2:17 में लिखता है, “क्योंकि हम उन बहुतों के समान नहीं, जो परमेश्वर के वचन में मिलावट करते हैं; परन्तु मन की सच्चाई से, और परमेश्वर की ओर से परमेश्वर को उपस्थित जानकर मसीह में बोलते हैं।” यहाँ पर पौलुस अपनी सेवकाई तथा “उन बहुतों” की सेवकाई के मध्य एक तुलना प्रस्तुत करता है – क्योंकि दोनों, पौलुस, और वे - “उन बहुतों”, परमेश्वर के वचन से ही प्रचार करते थे। किन्तु “उन बहुतों” के प्रचार और पौलुस के प्रचार में बहुत बड़ा अंतर था। इसी से, हम बाइबल में से ही देखते हैं कि सुसमाचार के प्रचार और परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाएँ दिए जाने के आरम्भ से ही, “बहुत” से झूठे प्रचारक और गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले उठ खड़े हुए थे और परमेश्वर के वचन की गलत व्याख्या करने, गलत बातें प्रचार करने, सिखाने, तथा लोगों को गलत मार्गों पर डालने लग गए थे; तथा लोगों में उनकी स्वीकृति और सम्मान भी था।

 

पहली कलीसिया के समय से ही, शैतान ने अपने बहुत से लोगों को परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाओं और प्रचार को बिगाड़ने, उसे भ्रष्ट करने तथा लोगों को बहका कर गलत मार्ग पर डालने के लिए छोड़ दिया था (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3)। जो विश्वासी उनके द्वारा बहकाए जाते थे, वे यही मानते हुए चलते रहते थे कि वे सही मार्ग पर हैं, और सही अगुवों तथा शिक्षकों की सही शिक्षाओं और व्याख्याओं को ही सुन एवं अनुसरण कर रहे हैं। जबकि वास्तव में शैतान और उसके दूतों ने (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15), उन्हें, उनके वास्तविकता को पहचाने बिना ही गलत मार्गों पर डाल दिया था। इसीलिए प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने अपनी पहली पत्री में विश्वासियों को लिखा था कि हर किसी की बातों पर विश्वास न करें, परन्तु पहले उन लोगों और उनकी शिक्षाओं को सावधानीपूर्वक जाँच-परख लें, और सही पाए जाने पर ही उन पर भरोसा करें (1 यूहन्ना 4:1-6)। पौलुस ने भी यही बात एक ही वाक्य में कही है, “सब बातों को परखो: जो अच्छी है उसे पकड़े रहो” (1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 5:21)।

हमारे आज के मुख्य पद, 2 कुरिन्थियों 2:17, में पौलुस उनकी और अपनी सेवकाई के मध्य एक तुलना प्रस्तुत करता है। पौलुस “परमेश्वर को उपस्थित जानकर” बोलता था, इस एहसास के साथ कि जो कुछ भी वह कह रहा है, उसके लिए एक दिन वह परमेश्वर के सामने जवाबदेह होगा। इसकी तुलना में ये गलत प्रचार और शिक्षा देने वाले परमेश्वर के वचन में “मिलावट” करते थे, अर्थात् लाभ कमाने के लिए वचन का अनुचित रीति से उपयोग करते थे, वचन को “बेचते” थे। तो, शैतान के ये दूत सुसमाचार और परमेश्वर के वचन को स्वार्थ-सिद्धि के लिए, उस से कमाई करने के लिए प्रचार करते थे, सिखाते थे, न कि लोगों को पापों से क्षमा और उद्धार का सुसमाचार देने के लिये। इसकी तुलना में पौलुस ने 1 कुरिन्थियों 9:7-18 में अपने जीवन से दिखाया कि, कहीं लोग गलत न समझ लें, उसने सुसमाचार प्रचार के लिये, उसे परमेश्वर से दिये गये विशेषाधिकारों और लाभों का भी प्रयोग नहीं किया। इसके विपरीत, वह अपनी जीविका के लिये स्वयं परिश्रम करता था, और अपनी आमदनी में से अपने साथियों और कलीसिया की भी सहायता किया करता था (प्रेरितों 20:34-35; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:7-10; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 3:7-9)।

   

जैसे पौलुस किया करता था, गलत प्रचार और शिक्षाएँ देने वाले ये लोग भी परमेश्वर के सेवक बनकर यात्राएँ कर के स्थान-स्थान पर जाया करते थे। जबकि पौलुस नई कलीसियाएँ स्थापित करने में प्रयासरत रहता था, उसकी तुलना में ये “बहुतेरे” लोग जो कलीसियाएँ स्थापित हो चुकी थीं उन्हीं में जाते थे। वे लोग उन स्थानों पर विद्यमान मसीही विश्वासियों के सामने अपने आप को परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रचारक और शिक्षक प्रस्तुत करते थे। और अपनी पुष्टि के लिये वे बहुधा अपने साथ, जिन स्थानों से वे आए थे, वहाँ से अपने बारे में लिए गए सिफारिश के पत्र भी दिखाते थे (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-2 के साथ तुलना कीजिए)। फिर वे कुछ पैसा लेकर, अपने ही सिद्धान्तों और शिक्षाओं को बताते और सिखाते थे, ऐसी बातों को जिन्हें श्रोता सुनना पसंद करते थे; न कि परमेश्वर के वचन से किसी खरी और सही शिक्षा और सिद्धांत को (2 तिमुथियुस 4:3-4)। इनकी तुलना में पौलुस अपनी सेवकाई का गुण और पहचान बताता है, कि वह खराई से बोलता था, मनुष्यों को नहीं वरन परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला हो कर बोलता था (गलातियों 1:10-11)।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Appropriately Handling God’s Word – 14

 

In the previous few articles, we have been seeing from 1 Corinthians 4:6 about how Paul never ever went beyond what has already been written in God’s Word, although he was highly qualified to interpret and teach the Scriptures. And, by putting himself and Apollos as examples, he taught the Church to also do the same. Paul also strongly emphasized and taught against the Church getting divided into any groups and factions on any grounds. He also taught against Christian Believers following elders, or men instead of following the Lord. Today we will begin to consider a verse from Paul’s second letter to the Church in Corinth, to see an example of how people go beyond what has been written in God’s Word for selfish purposes and worldly gains.

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 2:17 “For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.” Paul, here presents a contrast between his ministry, and the ministry of “so many” – since both, Paul and these - the “so many,” were preaching from God’s Word. But there was a glaring difference between the preaching of the “so many,” and Paul’s preaching. Through this we see from the Bible that from the very beginning of the preaching of the gospel and God’s Word, “many” false preachers had also started preaching and teaching wrong things, misinterpreting God’s Word, and misleading the people; and people had not only accepted them, but honored them as well.

 

Right from the time of the first Church, Satan had sent out many of his agents to subvert the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, and mislead people (2 Corinthians 11:3). Those Believers who were being misled, would continue to believe that they are on the right path, listening to and following the right teachings and interpretations from the right elders and preachers. But actually, unknowingly they were listening to and following Satan and his angels (2 Corinthians 11:13-15); without their realizing it, they had been deceived and put them onto the wrong path. That is why the Apostle John in his first letter wrote to the Believers not to believe everyone, but to first carefully examine and check their teachings, and believe only if found correct (1 John 4:1-6). Paul also said the same in one sentence, in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 “Test all things; hold fast what is good.”

In our lead verse, 2 Corinthians 2:17, Paul presents a contrast between his ministry and theirs. As we see from this verse, Paul spoke “in the sight of God”, i.e., speaking with a sense of accountability to God about whatever he was preaching and teaching. In contrast, the errant preachers and teachers were “peddling,” which means to either sell, or to use inappropriately for gaining profit, God’s Word. So, what these agents of Satan were doing was using the gospel, using God’s Word for selfish purposes, to either promote and exalt themselves, or to make an earning out of preaching and teaching it, instead of spreading the good news of forgiveness of sins and salvation. In contrast, Paul did not even claim or utilize his rightful privileges, sanctioned by God, as a minister of God and preacher of God’s Word, lest he be misunderstood in any way (1 Corinthians 9:7-18). Instead, he worked for a living, and used his earnings to help his colleagues and the Church (Acts 20:34-35; 1 Thessalonians 2:7-10; 2 Thessalonians 3:7-9).

Like Paul, these errant preachers too would travel to different places as ministers of God. Whereas, Paul used to labor to establish new Churches, these “many” would go to places where Churches had already been established.  In those established Churches, amongst the existing Christian Believers, they would present themselves as preachers and teachers of God’s Word. To affirm themselves, they would often bring with them letters of recommendation from the Churches and places they had preached earlier (contrast with 2 Corinthians 3:1-2). Then for a fee, they would preach and teach on their own, things that were pleasing to the audience, instead of sound doctrine from God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:3-4). In contrast, Paul gives the characteristics of his ministry, that he spoke with sincerity, not as a ‘man pleaser’ but from God, as a ‘God pleaser’ (Galatians 1:10-11).

You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

प्रभु की मेज़ - सदा परमेश्वर पर विश्वास रखें एवं धन्यवादी रहें

 

हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं कि प्रभु भोज की गलत समझ और अनुचित व्यवहार के कारण कुरिन्थुस की कलीसिया में जो त्रुटियाँ घुस आई थीं, जिनमें प्रभु भोज का अपमान और कलीसिया को तुच्छ जानना भी सम्मिलित थे (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:20-22), उनके निवारण और उन लोगों को शैतान के हाथों से छुड़ाने के लिए, पवित्र आत्मा उन्हें प्रेरित पौलुस में होकर प्रभु यीशु मसीह द्वारा प्रभु भोज की स्थापना पर लेकर जाता है। हम कुरिन्थियों के इस अध्याय तथा सुसमाचारों में दिए गए वर्णनों, दोनों ही में देखते हैं कि प्रभु यीशु ने प्रभु भोज की स्थापना फसह को खाते समय या खा लेने के बाद, फसह की सामग्री ही के द्वारा की, जो रोटी और कटोरा प्रभु ने लिया वह फसह के भोज का भाग था, किन्तु प्रभु भोज फसह नहीं था। इसलिए यहाँ पर तथा सुसमाचारों में दी गई जानकारी का एक भाग, जो प्रभु द्वारा प्रभु भोज की स्थापना से संबंधित है कुछ पेचीदा लगता है। यहाँ, 1 कुरिन्थियों 11:23-24 में लिखा है कि प्रभु ने रोटी लेकर धन्यवाद किया, और फिर उसे तोड़ा और उनके लिए अपनी तोड़ी गई देह के प्रतीक के रूप में शिष्यों को दे दिया। लूका भी इसे प्रभु द्वारा धन्यवाद दिए जाने के साथ लिखता है (लूका 22:19), जब कि मत्ती और मरकुस कहते हैं कि उसने आशीष माँगकर रोटी को तोड़ा और फिर शिष्यों को दिया (मत्ती 26:26; मरकुस 14:22)। चाहे प्रभु ने धन्यवाद माँगकर किया अथवा आशीष माँगकर, जो बात इससे प्रकट है वह है कि प्रभु इस बात के लिए, कि उसकी देह औरों के लिए तोड़ी जानी थी, उन शिष्यों के लिए, जो फसह के भोज के लिए तो बैठे थे, किन्तु अभी भी इसी झगड़े में पड़े हुए थे कि उनमें से बड़ा कौन है (लूका 22:24), संसार के पापी लोगों के लिए, परमेश्वर का कृतज्ञ या धन्यवादी था।

रोटी के लिए धन्यवाद करना या आशीष माँगना वह ‘भोजन की प्रार्थना’ नहीं थी जो हम भोजन करने से पहले परमेश्वर से करते हैं, क्योंकि मुख्य भोजन तो आरंभ हो चुका था, और उसके लिए धन्यवाद या आशीष की जो भी प्रार्थना होनी चाहिए थी, वह पहली की गई होगी। साथ ही, प्रभु जो कर रहा था, वह केवल प्रतीक के रूप में था, न कि वह पूरा भोजन उन्हें दे रहा था। यही बात सुसमाचारों के वर्णन से भी प्रकट है, जहाँ पर भी स्पष्ट लिखा गया है कि उसने रोटी के लिए धन्यवाद किया या आशीष माँगी और फिर उसे तोड़ा, तथा उसे अपनी तोड़ी गई देह का चिह्न बताया। अर्थात, मतलब यही निकलता है कि प्रभु परमेश्वर का, उसके लिए धन्यवाद कर रहा था, उसे आशीष दे रहा था, जो थोड़ी देर में उसके साथ होने वाला था, उस दुख और पीड़ा के लिए, उसके द्वारा समस्त मानव जाति के सभी पाप अपने ऊपर ले लेने और स्वयं पाप बन जाने के लिए, मानव जाति के पापों के लिए उसकी देह के यातनाएं सहने और तोड़े जाने के लिए। स्वेच्छा से किसी व्यक्ति द्वारा यह सब करना कल्पना से बाहर है अविश्वसनीय है; किन्तु इसके लिए परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करना, आशीष देना कि उसने यह सब उसके साथ होने दिया, इन सब बातों और यातनाओं में से उसे निकलने दिया, समझा अथवा समझाया नहीं जा सकता है, यह मानवीय बुद्धि की सीमाओं से बाहर की बात है। लेकिन फिर भी यहाँ पर हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु अपने जीवन के व्यक्तिगत उदाहरण से हमें सिखाता है कि हर बात के लिए, हर परिस्थिति में परमेश्वर के धन्यवादी बने रहें; और एक बार फिर से, पहले स्वयं ऐसा कर के, फिर शिष्यों द्वारा उस कार्य को करने के लिए कहा।

प्रभु के शिष्य, एक नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को प्रभु के उदाहरण का अनुसरण करना है, और परमेश्वर पर भरोसा बनाए रखना है कि वह हर बात में, सभी अनुभवों और परिस्थितियों के द्वारा भी केवल वही करेगा, वही होने देगा, जो उसके बच्चों के लिए लाभकारी है; चाहे उस समय, उस पल में वह बात समझने में कठिन और कष्ट-दायक हो। अर्थात परमेश्वर अपने लोगों के लिए हमेशा ही रोमियों 8:28 को पूरा करेगा। यही बात परमेश्वर के लोगों ने भी अपने व्यवहार से दिखाई है, जैसे कि शद्रक, मेशक, और अबेदनगो ने (दानिय्येल 3:16-30), और दानिय्येल ने (दानिय्येल 6:12-28)। परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों से कहा है कि वे सदा हर बात में आनंदित रहें, क्योंकि परमेश्वर का आनन्द ही हमारा दृढ़ गढ़ है (नहेम्याह 8:10); और यह भी कि हमें सदा अपनी प्रार्थना और निवेदन परमेश्वर के सम्मुख धन्यवाद के साथ प्रस्तुत करने चाहिए (फिलिप्पियों 4:4, 6)। प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने वाले लोगों को हमेशा, और हर बात के लिए उसपर भरोसा रखने वाले लोग होना चाहिए (2 तिमुथियुस 1:12), और जो कुछ भी वह हमारे जीवनों में आने देता है, जिन भी परिस्थितियों में से हमें लेकर चलता है, उन सभी के लिए सदा उसके धन्यवादी होना चाहिए। प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेना प्रभु में विश्वास और भरोसे को फिर से नया करने का, प्रभु में सदा आनन्दित रहना सीखने का अवसर होना चाहिए।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

The Lord’s Table - Always Trust God & Remain Thankful

 

We have seen in the earlier articles that to rectify the errors that had crept into the Corinthian Church because of their mishandling the Holy Communion, and thereby denigrating it, and also despising the Church (1 Corinthians 11:20-22); to bring them out of the situation they had got themselves into, the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul, recounts to them the manner of initiation of the Lord’s Table, by the Lord Jesus. We have seen here, as well as in the Gospel accounts, that the Holy Communion, though established with the elements, i.e., the bread and cup being used in the Passover meal, but it was a separate event by itself. The Holy Communion established by the Lord was not the Passover meal itself, but He did it during or after He and the disciples had eaten the Passover meal. Therefore, a bit of information presented here, as well as in the Gospel accounts, related to the Lord’s initiating the Holy Communion, is intriguing. It says here, in 1 Corinthians 11:23-24 that taking the bread, the Lord Jesus gave thanks, then broke it and gave it to the disciples as a symbol of His body broken for them. Luke also records it as giving thanks (Luke 22:19), while Matthew and Mark say that He blessed it (Matthew 26:26; Mark 14:22). Whether the Lord said thanks or whether He blessed it, essentially it conveys that the Lord was grateful to God for it; for a symbol of His body being broken for others, for the disciples who while sitting to have the Passover meal, were still quarrelling about who was greater amongst them (Luke 22:24), for the sinful people of the world.

The giving of thanks or blessing the bread could not be the ‘grace’ we say at the beginning of the meal; He could not be thanking God for the meal, nor could be blessing the food they were to partake, since the main meal had already begun, and thanks or blessings for it would have been done at its beginning. Moreover, what the Lord was doing was giving the disciples only a symbolic presentation, and not a full meal. Then, as is apparent from this as well as the Gospel accounts, it is specifically mentioned that He thanked or blessed the bread, and then called it the symbol of His body broken for them. So, in essence, the Lord was thanking God for, or blessing for what He would be going through and suffering in a short while, His taking up the sins of mankind upon Himself, becoming sin, the breaking of His body for the sins of mankind and mankind’s deliverance from sins. To voluntarily agree to suffer all this for others, in the place of others is by itself unimaginable for any person, but to be thanking God, blessing for permitting it to happen and lead through such excruciating experiences, is inexplicable, beyond human understanding. Yet, here the Lord through His personal example shows and teaches us to be thankful to God for everything, in all circumstances; once again by first demonstrating it through His own life, then to be emulated by His disciples.

The disciple of the Lord Jesus, a Born-Again Christian Believer has to follow the Lord’s example, and trust God that He will, in and through all experiences and circumstances, only do that, or get done that which is beneficial for His children; even though the thing may seem difficult to understand and painful at the moment; i.e., God will always fulfill Romans 8:28 for His people. This is something demonstrated by God’s people like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:16-30), Daniel (Daniel 6:12-28). Also, God has instructed that His people should always be rejoicing in Him, since the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10); and should always pray and bring our petitions to God with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:4, 6). The participants of the Lord’s Table should be the ones who always trust Him for everything, in all circumstances (2 Timothy 1:12), and are always thankful to Him, for whatever He may allow in our lives, however He may lead us in life. Partaking of the Lord’s Table should be a time of renewing our faith and trust in the Lord, of learning to be happy and rejoicing in the Lord always.

If you are a Christian Believer and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

       पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए मूल स्वरूप को छोड़ कर, मनुष्यों द्वारा बदल दिए गए स्वरूप का पालन करने, परमेश्वर के वचन के स्थान पर मनुष्यों के वचन को महत्व देने, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता करने के कारण, मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर के मार्गों से भटक जाते हैं। ऐसे में शैतान द्वारा उन्हें अनेकों प्रकार की गलतियों में डाल कर उन्हें परमेश्वर और उसकी आशीषों से दूर रखने का अवसर मिल जाता है। गलतियों में पड़े, परमेश्वर से दूर ये विश्वासी यही समझते रहते हैं कि वे सही मार्ग पर हैं, जब कि होते शैतान के मार्ग पर हैं। इसके सुधार का एक ही तरीका है – परमेश्वर के वचन को लौटना, उसी का पालन करना; न कि मनुष्यों द्वारा लाए गए परिवर्तनों पालन करना। आज हम इसी के बारे में कुछ और देखेंगे।

प्रेरितों 2 में, पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने के पश्चात, पतरस जब यरूशलेम में एकत्रित हुए भक्त यहूदियों के सामने खड़े होकर, जो हो रहा था उसके बारे में उनके असमंजस और कौतूहल के निवारण के लिए बोलना आरंभ करता है, तब उनके सामने पवित्र शास्त्र में से संबंधित बातों और भविष्यवाणियों को लेकर आता है; अर्थात, परमेश्वर द्वारा उद्धार से संबंधित मूल बातों और भविष्यवाणियों को उन्हें स्मरण करवाता है। जब वह यह करता है तब लोगों के हृदय छिद जाते हैं, पतरस उनके सामने सुसमाचार को रखता है और 3000 लोग उद्धार पाते हैं। जब स्तिफनुस को ईश-निन्दा के झूठे आरोप लगाकर पकड़ा जाता है और यहूदियों के धर्म के अगुवों की सभा के सामने न्याय के लिए प्रस्तुत किया जाता है (यहूदियों 6:10-15), तब अपने पक्ष और बचाव को प्रस्तुत करते समय, प्रेरितों 7 में, स्तिफनुस उनके सामने इस्राएल के आरंभ से उनका इतिहास रखता है और दिखाता है कि किस प्रकार वे बारंबार परमेश्वर के वचन और मार्गों से भटकते रहे और गलतियाँ करते रहे, और उसी प्रवृत्ति के अंतर्गत उन्होंने प्रतिज्ञा और भविष्यवाणियां किए हुए मसीहा को भी मार डाला (प्रेरितों 7:51-53)। अर्थात, स्तिफनुस उन्हें उनके विश्वास और परमेश्वर के साथ संबंध की आधारभूत बातों पर लेकर जाता है और उनकी गलतियों को, परमेश्वर के वचन और मार्गों से भटकते रहने को, प्रकट करता है। ऐसी ही एक घटना यहोशू की पुस्तक के 7 अध्याय में भी दर्ज है; ऐ में इस्राएलियों की बहुत शर्मनाक और अनपेक्षित हार हुई थी, यहोशू इसके कारण बदहाल होकर परमेश्वर के सामने गिड़गिड़ाता है, उससे पूछता है कि ऐसा क्यों हुआ? प्रभु उसे सीधा उत्तर देकर दोषी व्यक्ति का नाम बता सकता था, किन्तु इसकी बजाए परमेश्वर यहोशू 7:14 में एक विधि देता है, समस्याओं के कारण को समझने और पहचानने की - मूल या आधारभूत बात से आरंभ कर के, बारी-बारी से हर एक बात को जाँचते और आँकलन करते चले जाओ, जब तक कि समस्या का कारण सामने न आ जाए। यहोशू परमेश्वर की विधि को कार्यान्वित करता है (यहोशू 7:16-18), और उनकी हार के लिए दोषी व्यक्ति प्रकट हो जाता है। आकान और उसके परिवार के पास अवसर था कि वे अपने पाप को मान लें, विशेषकर जब वे देख रहे थे कि बात उनकी ओर ही बढ़ रही है, किन्तु उन्होंने ऐसा नहीं किया, अपने अवसर को गँवा दिया, और अन्ततः परिणाम भुगतना पड़ा। अब, यहोशू पर कोई भी पक्षपात का या गलती कर देने का दोष नहीं लगा सकता था, और आकान के पास भी बचने का कोई मार्ग नहीं बचा था, उसे अपनी गलती को मानना और भुगतना ही पड़ा।

परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में हमें अपनी विधि दी है जिससे हम अपने जीवनों को गलतियों से बचाकर रखें और परमेश्वर के वचन से भटकने से बचे रहें - समय-समय पर अपने जीवन, व्यवहार, रवैये, और परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता की स्थिति का आँकलन करते रहें। प्रभु की मेज़ हमें यह अवसर प्रदान करती है कि हम प्रार्थना के साथ, प्रभु की उपस्थिति में, उसकी सहायता से, मेज़ में भाग लेने से पहले अपने जीवनों को जाँच लें। प्रभु जो भी पाप, गलतियाँ, कमियां-कमज़ोरियाँ हमारे सामने लाए, उन्हें मान कर, स्वीकार कर के, उनके लिए क्षमा मांग कर, फिर योग्य रीति से प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लें, प्रभु से आशीष पाएं। हमारे द्वारा सुसमाचार की मूल, आधारभूत बातों की ओर लौट कर आना और उनके अनुसार आपने जीवन को जाँचना, हमें प्रभु के निकट और घनिष्ठ संगति में बनाए रखने में बहुत सहायक होगा, और हमें शैतान और उसकी युक्तियों से, उसके चंगुल में फँसने से बचाए रखेगा।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

The Lord’s Table - Back to Basics & Self-Examination (2)

 

       In the previous article we had seen that Christian Believers, by turning away from the original form of God given things, and following their man-modified forms, by giving more importance to man’s word, instead of God’s Word, lose their way and go away from God. In such situations, Satan gets the opportunity to keep them away from God and His blessings. These Believers, on the wrong path, keep thinking they are on the correct way, whereas, they actually are on Satan’s way. There is only one way to correct this situation – return back to God’s Word, obey it; instead of following and obeying man’s modifications. Today we will consider this some more.

In Acts 2, after receiving the Holy Spirit, when Peter stands up to address the devout Jews gathered in Jerusalem for the feasts, to clear their confusion and curiosity about what was happening, Peter recounts to them from their Scriptures the pertinent prophecies recorded by God, i.e., takes them back to the basics of the prophecies related to salvation written in the Scriptures. As he does so, the people are convicted in their hearts and Peter presents the Gospel to them, and 3000 are saved. When Stephen is caught on trumped up charges of blasphemy, and is brought before the council of the Jewish religious leaders to be judged (Acts 6:10-15), then, in putting up his defence, in Acts 7, Stephen recounts to them the history of Israel from its inception, to show them how they have repeatedly erred from the Word and ways of God, and in that same error have crucified the promised and prophesied Messiah (Acts 7:51-53); i.e., Stephen takes them back to the basics of their faith and relationship with God to expose their deviating from God’s Word and falling away from God’s ways. A similar instance is recorded in the book of Joshua chapter 7; Israel suffered an unexpected and humiliating defeat at Ai, Joshua is distraught about it, is pleading to the Lord to show why this happened. Lord could have given him the name of the guilty person straightaway, instead God gives in Joshua 7:14 the method of zeroing down to identifying the problems - review and analyze step-by-step starting from the basics, the very root, and carrying on till the current, till the problem is identified. Joshua implements God’s method (Joshua 7:16-18) and the culprit for the defeat is exposed. Achan and his family had the opportunity to confess straightaway, or even in between, as they saw the process zeroing in towards them. But they did not do so, wasted away their opportunity, and eventually had to pay the penalty. No one could accuse Joshua of any partiality or mistake or wrongdoing, and Achan too had no avenue of escape left, he had to confess his wrong doing and suffer for it.

God in His Word, has given to us His method for us to keep our lives free from errors and slipping up on God’s Word - periodically keep reviewing and analyzing ourselves, our behavior, our attitude, our living, our state of obedience to the Lord and His Word, etc. The Lord’s Table provides to us an opportunity to prayerfully, in the presence of the Lord, with His help, to review our lives before partaking of the Holy Communion, confess the sins, errors, and short-comings the Lord brings up before us, ask His forgiveness for them and then to go ahead and participate worthily, and be blessed by the Lord. Our returning back to the basics of the Gospel and our faith and reviewing our life accordingly will go a long way to keep us in close fellowship with the Lord, and safe from Satan and his ploys.

    परमेश्वर अपने लोगों के जीवनों में, मुख्यतः अपने वचन, बाइबल, के माध्यम से कार्य करता है (1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:5-10)। परमेश्वर ने अपने पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा, अपने पवित्र लोगों को प्रेरित किया कि वे पवित्र शास्त्र को लिखें (2 पतरस 1:21)। जैसा कि हम इससे पूर्व की, पवित्र आत्मा के तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के भण्डारी होने की श्रृंखला में देख चुके हैं, प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी को उसके नया-जन्म पाने के पल से ही पवित्र आत्मा दे दिया जाता है कि उस में बना रहे, उसका सहायक हो, और उसे परमेश्वर का वचन सिखाए (यूहन्ना 14:16, 26)। लेकिन परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान किये गए इस ईश्वरीय प्रावधान का सदुपयोग करने के लिए पर्याप्त उचित प्रयास करना, यह प्रत्येक विश्वासी की अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी है, और उसके द्वारा इसके लिए किये गए प्रयास पर निर्भर करता है।

    पवित्र आत्मा ने केवल प्रतिबद्ध और आज्ञाकारी विश्वासियों को स्वयं सिखाता है, वरन साथ ही, जैसा इफिसियों 4:11-15 में लिखा है, “और उसने कुछ को प्रेरित, कितनों को भविष्यद्वक्ता नियुक्त कर के, और कितनों को सुसमाचार सुनाने वाले नियुक्त कर के, और कितनों को रखवाले और उपदेशक नियुक्त कर के दे दिया। जिस से पवित्र लोग सिद्ध हों जाएं, और सेवा का काम किया जाए, और मसीह की देह उन्नति पाए। जब तक कि हम सब के सब विश्वास, और परमेश्वर के पुत्र की पहचान में एक न हो जाएं, और एक सिद्ध मनुष्य न बन जाएं और मसीह के पूरे डील डौल तक न बढ़ जाएं। ताकि हम आगे को बालक न रहें, जो मनुष्यों की ठग-विद्या और चतुराई से उन के भ्रम की युक्तियों की, और उपदेश की, हर एक बयार से उछाले, और इधर-उधर घुमाए जाते हों। वरन प्रेम में सच्चाई से चलते हुए, सब बातों में उस में जो सिर है, अर्थात मसीह में बढ़ते जाएं” परमेश्वर विश्वासियों को, कलीसिया को, तथा औरों को अपने वचन की सेवकाई करने वाले पाँच भिन्न प्रकार के सेवकों के द्वारा भी सिखाता है, जो उनमें कार्य करने वाले पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता से यह करते हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन की सेवकाई के लिए ठहराए गए ये पाँच प्रकार के सेवक हैं, प्रेरित, भविष्यद्वक्ता, सुसमाचार प्रचारक, रखवाले, और उपदेशक। परिश्रम के साथ की गई उनकी खरी सेवकाई के द्वारा, परमेश्वर के लोग अपनी-अपनी सेवा के काम को भली-भान्ति करने के लिए तैयार हों; मसीही विश्वासी और कलीसिया उन्नति पाए और बढ़े तथा परिपक्व हो; विश्वास में एकता को प्रोत्साहन और बढ़ावा मिले; विश्वासी प्रभु यीशु की पहचान में सिद्ध हो जाएँ और मसीह के डील-डौल तक बढें; अपरिपक्व बालक न रहें कि मनुष्यों की चतुराई की विभिन्न शिक्षाओं में इधर-उधर न भटकाए जाएँ; वरन ऐसे लोग बनें जो प्रेम से सत्य पर चलते हैं।

    इन परिवर्तनों के होने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन को विश्वासियों और कलीसिया में उस प्रकार से सिखाया और उपयोग किया जाना है, जैसा उसके लिए निर्धारित किया गया है, अर्थात उस तरह से जैसे पौलुस ने तीमुथियुस को वचन का उपयोग करने के लिए लिखा, “हर एक पवित्र  शास्त्र परमेश्वर की प्रेरणा से रचा गया है और उपदेश, और समझाने, और सुधारने, और धर्म की शिक्षा के लिये लाभदायक है। ताकि परमेश्वर का जन सिद्ध बने, और हर एक भले काम के लिये तत्पर हो जाए” (2 तीमुथियुस 3:16-17)। यहाँ पर हम चार प्रकार से परमेश्वर के उपयोग किये जाने के लिए निर्देश को देखते हैं, जिससे विश्वासी उन्नति पाएं और कलीसिया बढ़े। ये चार तरीके हैं – सही शिक्षा सीखने के लिए; समझाने, अर्थात जो परमेश्वर के वचन की शिक्षाओं को लेकर गलती में हैं उन्हें सही करने, आलोचना करने, और उलाहना देने के लिए; सुधारने के लिए, अर्थात झूठे और विधर्मी प्रचारकों द्वारा लाई गई गलतफहमियों, गलत व्याख्याओं, गलत सिद्धांतों, और झूठी शिक्षाओं को सही करने के लिए; और धर्म की सही शिक्षा देने के लिए। इस प्रकार, उपरोक्त पाँच प्रकार के वचन के सेवकों की यह ज़िम्मेदारी है कि वे परमेश्वर के वचन को इन चार प्रकार से, परमेश्वर के भय में होकर उपयोग करें; न कि मनुष्यों से डर कर वचन को दबाए रखें (प्रेरितों 20:20, 27; गलतियों 1:10)। और यह विश्वासियों और कलीसिया की ज़िम्मेदारी है कि वे उन्हें सुधारने और उन्नत करने के इन प्रयासों को सकारात्मक दृष्टिकोण से लें (भजन 141:5; गलतियों 4:16), न कि उनके कारण विरोध करें और परमेश्वर के वचन को परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में उन्हें सुधारने और बढ़ाने के लिए सिखाने वालों के विरुद्ध बोलें।

    अगले लेख में हम मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा आने वाले कुछ प्रभावों को देखेंगे, यदि उसे सही तरह से स्वीकार किया जाए और उसका पालन किया जाए।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 11

 

    One type of the essential Biblical teachings for the spiritual edification of the Christian Believer, i.e., of those who have truly repented of their sins and have submitted their lives to the Lord Jesus, and the growth of the Church are the teachings related to the gospel. The gospel is made effective by people repenting and believing in the gospel. True heartfelt repentance is evidenced by a changed life, a love for God’s Word, and a desire for encouraging others to repent. Presently, in this series we are considering teachings about repentance and the various aspects of the changed life of the Christian Believers, are expected to live by. In the previous article we have seen one of the blessings and rewards God has kept for those who glorify Him through their changed lives and obedience to Him; that God lives with them as their loving Father, and they have an ever-available access to Him for anything they want to share with Him. Today we will start considering the second blessing and reward that God has kept ready for His obedient children – that through His Word He will make them complete, thoroughly prepared for every good work; and mature so that they cannot be deceived by the trickeries of men.

    God works in the lives of His people mainly through His Word, the Bible (1 Thessalonians 1:5-10). God, through His Holy Spirit, inspired His holy men to write the Scriptures (2 Peter 1:21). As we have seen in the earlier series about the stewardship of the Holy Spirit and of God’s Word, the Holy Spirit has been given to every Christian Believer since the moment of his being Born-Again, to remain in him, to be his Helper, and to teach God’s Word to him (John 14:16, 26). But to make sincere efforts to utilize this God given divine provision, and utilize worthily, is every Christian Believer’s own responsibility, dependent upon the efforts they out in for this.

    The Holy Spirit not only teaches the committed and obedient Believers directly, but as is written in Ephesians 4:11-15, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ” God also teaches the Believers, the Church, and the others through the ministries of five different kinds of ministers of His Word functioning in the power of the Holy Spirit operative in their live. These five kinds of ministers of God’s Word are the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers. Through their diligent ministry, God’s people are equipped for their ministries; the Christian Believers and God’s Church are edified, i.e., grow and mature; unity in faith is promoted and encouraged; the Believers are perfected in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus and grow to the stature of the fullness of Christ; no longer remain immature children, misled here and there by various deceitful doctrines and teachings of men; but become those who speak the truth in love.

    For these changes to happen in the Christian Believer’s lives, God’s Word has to be taught and used amongst the Believers and the Church, in its prescribed manner, i.e., in the same manner as Paul wrote to Timothy to use the Scriptures in the congregation; Paul, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Here we see the four ways in which the Scriptures are to be used to ensure the growth and edification of the Believers and the Church – for learning correct doctrine; for reproof, i.e., for criticizing, censuring, and reprimanding those in errors about the teachings of God’s Word; for correcting the misconceptions, misinterpretations, wrong doctrines and false teachings brought in by heretic preachers and teachers; and for instructing about the correct teachings that God wants delivered amongst His people. So, it is the responsibility of the five kinds of ministers of God’s Word mentioned above to use God’s Word for these functions, in the fear of God (Acts 20:20, 27; Galatians 1:10), instead of holding back in the fear of man. And it is the responsibility of the Believers and the Church to receive these corrective admonitions in a positive attitude (Psalm 141:5; Galatians 4:16), instead of protesting about them or speaking against those who obey God’s Word to teach, correct, and edify them.

    In the next article we will see some of the effects of God’s Word in the Christian Believer’s life, when the Word is rightly received and obeyed.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
