पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना – 19

नया-जन्म पाए हुए प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी में उसके उद्धार पाने के पल से ही पवित्र आत्मा निवास करने लगता है; और इसलिए उसे परमेश्वर के इस प्रावधान, पवित्र आत्मा, का योग्य भण्डारी बन कर कार्य करना सीखना है। परमेश्वर ने अपना पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक विश्वासी को उसका सहायक, साथी, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया है; तथा विश्वासियों को मसीही जीवन जीने और परमेश्वर द्वारा उन्हें सौंपी गई सेवकाई को पूरा करने में सहायक होने के लिए भी। क्योंकि पवित्र आत्मा विश्वासी का शिक्षक भी है, इसलिए उसे परमेश्वर का वचन भी सिखाता है, यदि वह प्राथमिक रीति से उसी से सीखने के लिए तैयार हो। कोई भी मनुष्य सिद्ध और अचूक नहीं है, सभी से गलतियाँ होती रहती हैं, और सभी मनुष्यों में अपनी ही समझ और धारणाओं के अनुसार बात को कहने और समझाने की प्रवृत्ति होती है। इसी लिये बजाए मनुष्यों पर निर्भर रहने के और उस के कारण गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ जाने का जोखिम उठाने के, परमेश्वर की आज्ञा है कि मनुष्यों की प्रत्येक बात को पहले वचन के आधार पर जाँचा और परखा जाए; और यदि वचन से पूर्णतः सुसंगत हो, तभी उसे स्वीकार किया जाये। पिछले लेखों में हमने 1 पतरस 2:1-2 से सीखा है कि विश्वासी को पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के लिए अपने आप को किस प्रकार तैयार करना चाहिए, और फिर भजन 25 से देखा है कि परमेश्वर कैसे अपने लोगों को अपना वचन और मार्ग सिखाता है। आज से हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 से पवित्र आत्मा से सीखने के बारे में देखेंगे।

पहले के लेखों में हमने यूहन्ना 14:26 से तथा यूहन्ना 16:13-15 से देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा का मसीही विश्वासियों की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन करने का तरीका है उन्हें कोई नए दर्शन अथवा प्रकाशन देने की बजाए उन्हें प्रभु यीशु के द्वारा कही गई बातों को स्मरण करवाना तथा जो प्रभु अपने शिष्यों से पहले कह चुका है केवल उन्हीं बातों में से लेकर उन्हें बताना। यहाँ, 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12 में, पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा पौलुस यही बात कुछ भिन्न शब्दों में कह रहा है। पौलुस कहता है कि विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा दिया गया है ताकि “हम उन बातों को जानें, जो परमेश्वर ने हमें दी हैं।” परमेश्वर कोई भी काम निरुद्देश्य नहीं करता है, और न ही किसी को कुछ भी उसे व्यर्थ गँवा देने के लिए नहीं देता है। मसीही विश्वासियों को विभिन्न वरदान और सँसाधन इसीलिए दिए गए हैं कि वे अपने मसीही जीवन को उचित रीति से जीएँ और अपनी परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित सेवकाई को योग्य रीति से पूरा करें। परमेश्वर ने उन्हें अपना पवित्र आत्मा दिया है कि विश्वासियों को उन के बारे में सिखाए जो कुछ उसने उन्हें सेंत-मेंत या अनुग्रहपूर्वक दिया है, तथा कैसे उन प्रावधानों को परमेश्वर के राज्य और महिमा के लिए उपयोग करें। कोई विश्वासी यह नहीं कह सकता है कि परमेश्वर ने उसे कुछ नहीं दिया है; यह उसकी ज़िम्मेदारी है कि वह पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता से पहचाने अथवा पता लगाए कि परमेश्वर ने उसे क्या वरदान दिए हैं, और उस से कौन सी सेवकाई लेना चाहता है; और फिर पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन में उसका निर्वाह करे। पवित्र आत्मा उसे परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए सँसाधनों के बारे में सिखाने के लिए है; यह कुछ उस के समान है जिसे हमने पिछले लेख में भजन 25:12 से परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने लोगों को सिखाने के बारे में देखा था, परमेश्वर उन्हें उस के अनुसार सिखाता है जो वह चाहता है कि लोग उसके लिए करें।

विश्वासी, यदि वे अपने वरदान और सेवकाई के बारे में नहीं जानते हैं, तो उन्हें परमेश्वर से यह प्रकट करने के लिए माँगना चाहिए। उस से यह जानने के लिए सच्चे मन से प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए। उन्हें यह इस खरे, समर्पित उद्देश्य के साथ करना चाहिये कि फिर वे परमेश्वर द्वारा सौंपे गए काम और दी गई सेवकाई को पूरा करेंगे, तथा जैसा वह उन से चाहता है, वैसा ही जीवन भी जीएँगे। लोग सामान्यतः अपने वरदानों और सेवकाई को अपने जीवन पर ध्यान करने के द्वारा पहचान सकते हैं। यह देखने के द्वारा कि कलीसिया और परमेश्वर के लोगों के लिए किन कामों को वे अच्छे से करने पाते हैं; अन्य लोग उन से अकसर क्या काम करने के लिए और किस बात में सहायता देने के लिए कहते हैं; और वे परमेश्वर के लिए क्या करने से आनन्दित रहते हैं, आदि। सभी वरदान और सेवाकाइयाँ परमेश्वर के लिए समान महत्व और मूल्य के होते हैं, तथा सभी लोगों को एक ही वरदान अथवा सेवकाई नहीं दी गई है। इसलिए किसी को भी किसी अन्य के वरदान अथवा सेवकाई को लेकर ईर्ष्या अथवा लालच नहीं करना चाहिए। और न ही किसी को उसे जो नहीं मिला है या किसी अन्य को जो दिया गया है, उस को लेकर कुड़कुड़ाना चाहिए। प्रतिफलों के लिए होने वाले अन्तिम न्याय के समय, प्रत्येक का न्याय उसके अनुसार किया जाएगा जो उन्हें दिया गया था, और उन्होंने उसे परमेश्वर के राज्य और महिमा के लिए किस प्रकार से उपयोग किया; जैसा कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने ‘तोड़ों’ के दृष्टांत में बताया है (मत्ती 25:14-30)।

प्रभु यीशु मसीह के साथ क्रूस पर चढ़ाए गए डाकुओं में से पश्चाताप करने वाले के बारे में सोचिए; उसकी सेवकाई कुछ ही मिनटों की, तथा केवल एक ही वाक्य बोलने की थी। यह कदापि संभव नहीं था कि वह कहीं पर जाता या प्रभु के लिए कुछ करता; लेकिन आज भी, इस घटना के होने के 2000 वर्ष से भी अधिक बीत जाने के बाद भी, वह आज भी असंख्य लोगों से बोलता रहता है, कितनों को विश्वास में लेकर आता है, कितनों की उन के प्रभावी होकर विश्वास में बढ़ने में सहायता करता है, और उसकी सेवकाई आज भी ज़ारी है। ऐसे ही यूहन्ना 4 अध्याय में दिए गए सामरी स्त्री के वृतांत के बारे में विचार कीजिए। यूहन्ना 4 अध्यय के बाद उसका कहीं कोई उल्लेख नहीं है; परन्तु उसके एक कार्य ने उसके पूरे गाँव का उद्धार कर दिया; आज तक न जाने कितने लोगों को उद्धार में ला चुकी है; और आज भी उसकी सेवकाई पूरे संसार में न जाने कितने और लोगों के जीवन बदल रही है। इसी प्रकार से आज भी अनगिनत ऐसे प्रभु के सेवक और संत हैं जिन्हें यह पता ही नहीं है कि उनके जीवन तथा कार्यों ने औरों के जीवनों को किस प्रकार से प्रभावित किया है, उन्हें बदला है, और सँसार के न जाने कितने लोगों के उद्धार का कारण बने हैं। हो सकता है कि उन्होंने अपने जीवनों या कार्यों को कभी किसी योग्य भी न समझा हो, लेकिन परमेश्वर ने उन्हें बहुत सामर्थी रीति से उपयोग किया है। जो भी जीवन परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में और परमेश्वर को आदर देने के लिए जिया जाएगा, वह हमेशा ही बहुतायत से फलवन्त होगा तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा बड़े इनाम पाएगा।

कोई भी वरदान अथवा सेवकाई छोटी या महत्वहीन नहीं है; परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में, प्रत्येक वरदान और सेवकाई का समान महत्व और मूल्य है। किसी को भी 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:31 के “बड़े से बड़े वरदानों” की सामान्यतः दी जाने वाली गलत व्याख्या और समझ से भरमाए नहीं जाना चाहिए। यह समझने के लिए कि इसका वास्तविक अर्थ क्या है, उसे उसके संदर्भ, 1 कुरिन्थियों 12:28-31 में देखिए, तथा वहाँ दिए गए आत्मिक वरदानों के क्रम पर ध्यान कीजिए – बहुधा जिस का गलत व्याख्या के आधार पर “बड़ा” या “सर्वोच्च” वरदान होने का दावा किया जाता है और इसलिए उसका लालच किया जाता है, अर्थात् “अन्य-भाषा बोलने का वरदान” वह सूची का प्रथम नहीं, अन्तिम वरदान है। बजाए इसे ले कर कुड़कुड़ाने के कि उन्हें क्या मिला या नहीं मिला है, विश्वासियों को परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करना चाहिए, हर उस बात के लिए जो उसने उन्हें सेंत-मेंत और अनुग्रह द्वारा प्रदान की है, तथा पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता से “उन बातों को जानें, जो परमेश्वर ने हमें दी हैं” और फिर उन्हें पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन में परमेश्वर के राज्य और महिमा के लिए उपयोग करे। 

अगले लेख में हम 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:12-14 के बारे में यहाँ से आगे देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Learning From the Holy Spirit – 19

 

Every Born-Again Christian Believer, receives the Holy Spirit to reside in him, since the very moment of his salvation; therefore, the Believer must learn to function as a worthy steward of the God given provision, the Holy Spirit of God. God has given His Holy Spirit to every Believer, to be his Helper, Companion, Teacher, and Guide; to help the Believers live their Christian lives and fulfil their God assigned ministry. The Holy Spirit is also to be the Believer’s Teacher and teaches him God’s Word, if he is willing to primarily learn from Him. No person is perfect or infallible, everyone keeps making mistakes, and everyone has the tendency to teach and interpret according to their own notions and understanding about things. Therefore, it is God’s command to first cross-check every human teaching and interpretation from God’s Word; and if found fully consistent with God’s Word, only then to accept it, instead of the Believer relying upon men and thereby becoming prone to fall into erroneous teachings. In the previous articles we have seen from 1 Peter 2:1-2 how the Believer should prepare himself to learn from the Holy Spirit, and then from Psalm 25 about how God teaches His people His Word and ways. From today we will start considering from 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 about learning from the Holy Spirit.

In the earlier articles we had seen from John 14:26 and from John 16:13-15 that the way the Holy Spirit helps and guides the Christian Believers is not by giving any new revelations or teachings, but only by bringing to their remembrance and declaring to the Lord’s disciples what the Lord has already taught to them. Here, in 1 Corinthians 2:12, Paul, through the Holy Spirit is saying the same thing, in different words. Paul says that the Holy Spirit has been given to the Believers by God, so that “we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” God does not do anything without a purpose, and does not give anything to anyone to be wasted away. God has given various gifts and provisions to every Christian Believer, to live his Christian life and fulfil his God assigned ministry. God has also given the Holy Spirit to teach the Believers about the provisions He has freely or graciously given to them, and how to use the given provisions for God’s Kingdom and glory. No Believer can say that God has not given him anything; it is his responsibility, with the help of the Holy Spirit to recognize or find out the gifts God has given him, the ministry God wants done through him, and then carry it out through the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is there to teach the Believers about the things that God has given him; this is something like what we saw in the last article, from Psalm 25:12 about God teaching His people that which He chooses to teach them, according to what He wants to have them do for Him.

The Believers, if they are not aware of their ministry and gifts, should ask God to reveal it to them, by earnestly praying to Him about it. They should do this with a sincere desire to then work to fulfil their God assigned ministry and to live for Him, just the way God wants them to live for Him. They can usually recognize their gifts and ministry by reviewing their lives and seeing what they usually are good at doing. The things they usually do well for the Church and God’s people; the things people often ask to help them out with; the things they enjoy doing for God, etc. Every gift and ministry are of equal value and importance for God, and not everyone has been given the same gift or ministry. So, none should feel envious about someone else’s gift and ministry, nor covet it. Neither should anyone grumble about what they have not received and what others have received. At the final judgment for receiving rewards, everyone will be judged for what was given to them, and how they put it to use for the Kingdom and glory of God; as the Lord Jesus taught in His parable of the ‘talents’ (Matthew 25:14-30).

Consider the penitent thief on the cross, crucified along with the Lord Jesus; his ministry was only of a few minutes, and of speaking one single sentence. There was no way that he could go anywhere or do anything for the Lord after his repentance; but till today, over 2000 years after the incidence, he still continues to speak to countless people, and bring so many to faith, or make so many grow in their faith – effectively, his ministry continues even today. Also, consider the incidence of the Samaritan woman in John chapter 4. After John 4 there is no mention anywhere of that woman; but her one act brought salvation to her entire village; has brought innumerable others to salvation to date; and even today is changing the lives of countless others all over the world. Similarly, there are numerous saints and servants of God, who don’t even know how their lives and works have impacted others, changed them, and saved so many people in the world. They may not even have considered their lives and efforts worthwhile, but God has still used them mightily. The life lived in obedience to, and for honoring God, will always bring abundant fruits and be greatly rewarded by God.

No gift or ministry is small or insignificant; in God’s eyes, every gift and every ministry is of equal value. No one should get carried away because of the usually stated misinterpretation and misunderstanding of “best gifts” of 1 Corinthians 12:31. To understand what it actually means, see it in its context of 1 Corinthians 12:28-31, and consider the sequence in which the spiritual gifts are mentioned there. Through misinterpretation, the often touted and coveted as ‘the best,’ the gift of ‘tongues’ is the last one mentioned, not the first and foremost gift of the list. Instead of grumbling about what he has got or not got, the Believer should thank God for whatever God has graciously or ‘freely’ given to him, and through the help of Holy Sprit “know the things that have been freely given to us by God,” then put them to use under His guidance for God’s Kingdom and glory. 

We will carry on considering further about 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 in the next article from here onwards.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हम मसीही विश्वासी के, उसे परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रदान किये गए संसाधनों का भण्डारी होने के बारे में अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। परमेश्वर ने उसे ये संसाधन प्रभु के लिए गवाही का जीवन जीने, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे सौंपी गई सेवकाई को पूरा करने के लिये दिये है। ऐसा जीवन जीने के परिणामस्वरूप, पृथ्वी पर तथा अनन्त काल के लिए स्वर्ग में, उसका जीवन आशीषित और सफल बना रहेगा। परमेश्वर द्वारा अपने बच्चों – नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों को उपलब्ध करवाए गए विभिन्न संसाधनों में से एक है परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, जो उसे प्रभु यीशु पर विश्वास लाने के द्वारा उद्धार पाने के पल से ही दे दिया जाता है (इफिसियों 1:13-14)। पवित्र आत्मा को प्रत्येक विश्वासी को उसका सहायक, शिक्षक, और मार्गदर्शक होने के लिए दिया जाता है, कि उसे उसके मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई के बारे में सिखा सके और उसका मार्गदर्शन कर सके। पवित्र आत्मा का योग्य भण्डारी होने के लिए, विश्वासी को उसके बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन से सीखना चाहिए। इसके बारे में मुख्य शिक्षाएँ यूहन्ना रचित सुसमाचार के 14 से 16 अध्यायों में दी गई हैं; और हम यहीं से हमारे सन्दर्भ में पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में सीख रहे हैं। पहले के लेखों में यूहन्ना 14:16 को देख लेने के बाद, अब हम यूहन्ना 14:17 को देख रहे हैं, जहाँ पर प्रभु यीशु ने पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में तीन बातें कही हैं। हम इनमें से पहली बात, पवित्र आत्मा सत्य का आत्मा है के अर्थ और अभिप्राय को देख चुके हैं, और अब पिछले लेख से हम ने इस पद में दिए गए दूसरे कथन – “…जिसे संसार ग्रहण नहीं कर सकता, क्योंकि वह न उसे देखता है और न उसे जानता है…” को देखना आरंभ किया है। पिछले लेख में हम ने इस कथन के आरंभिक भाग “…जिसे संसार ग्रहण नहीं कर सकता …” को देखा था और शब्द ‘सँसार’ के अर्थ को तथा क्यों “सँसार,” अर्थात् संसार के लोग उसे ग्रहण नहीं कर सकते हैं को समझा था। आज से हम इस कथन के शेष भाग “…क्योंकि वह न उसे देखता है और न उसे जानता है…” को देखेंगे।

हम शब्द ‘देखता’ का गलत अर्थ लगा सकते हैं कि यह संसार के लोगों द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा को शारीरिक आँखों से देखने, उसके प्रत्यक्ष प्रकट होने की बात है, और इसलिए इस पद के अर्थ और तात्पर्य के बारे में असमंजस में पड़ सकते हैं। लेकिन इस से पहले कि हम इस इस पद को भौतिक स्वरूप में देखने के अर्थ में लें, हमें इस बात का ध्यान रखना चाहिए कि बाइबल की शिक्षा है कि किसी ने भी कभी भी परमेश्वर को नहीं देखा है, प्रभु यीशु, जो देह में अवतरित परमेश्वर हैं, ने उसे हम पर प्रकट किया है (निर्गमन 33:20; यूहन्ना 1:18; 1 यूहन्ना 4:12)। शब्द ‘देखना’ के सही अर्थ को समझने के लिए हमें इस शब्द को उसके मूल रूप में, मूल यूनानी भाषा में, जिस में से यह अनुवाद किया गया है, देखना होगा। यूनानी भाषा में जो शब्द उपयोग किया गया है वह ‘थ्योरियो’ है, जिसका अर्थ होता है ध्यान पूर्वक देखना, अर्थात, उद्यम के साथ उस पर ध्यान और विचार करना। इसलिए, प्रभु यीशु के शब्दों से अर्थ यह है कि सँसार पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में विचार या ध्यान न करता है; और न ही कर सकता है। मसीही विश्वासी के लिए इसका तात्पर्य है, जैसा कि इस पद के तीसरे भाग में भी दिया गया है, कि नया जन्म पाए हुए परमेश्वर के बच्चों को, जिन में पवित्र आत्मा निवास करता है, और उनकी सहायता, मार्गदर्शन करता है, उन्हें सामर्थ्य प्रदान करता है, उनको उससे सीखने के लिये उसे बड़े ध्यान से उसे ‘देखना’ अर्थात उस पर और उसकी बातों पर ध्यान और विचार करना चाहिए। यह सामान्य जीवन का एक साधारण तथ्य है कि हम जितना अधिक किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु के बारे में जानेंगे, उतना ही अधिक अच्छे से उसे उपयोग करने, उस के गुणों और योग्यताओं की सहायता लेने पाएंगे। उसी प्रकार से, मसीही विश्वासी जितना अधिक परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में ध्यान और विचार करता है, उसके बारे में सीखता है, उतना ही बेहतर वह उसकी सहायता, मार्गदर्शन, और सामर्थ्य को लेने और उपयोग करने पाएगा, और परिणामस्वरूप उसका जीवन उतना अधिक आशीषित और सफल होगा।

इस वाक्याँश में प्रभु यीशु ने जो दूसरी बात कही है, वह है कि सँसार पवित्र आत्मा को नहीं जानता है। तो अब, हम उसे किस प्रकार से जान सकते हैं? यद्यपि विश्वासी भी उसे अपनी आँखों से देख नहीं सकते हैं, लेकिन फिर भी उसकी उपस्थिति को महसूस किया जा सकता है, पहचाना जा सकता है। प्रभु यीशु ने कहा है, “हवा जिधर चाहती है उधर चलती है, और तू उसका शब्द सुनता है, परन्तु नहीं जानता, कि वह कहां से आती और किधर को जाती है? जो कोई आत्मा से जन्मा है वह ऐसा ही है” (यूहन्ना 3:8)। हवा, जो कि अदृश्य होती है, के उदाहरण के द्वारा प्रभु ने समझाया है कि जिस प्रकार हवा के प्रभाव उसके उपस्थित होने का प्रमाण हैं, उसी प्रकार से विश्वासी के जीवन में पवित्र आत्मा के प्रभाव उस में उसकी उपस्थिति को प्रमाणित करते हैं; और उन प्रभावों के होने से हम पवित्र आत्मा के व्यक्ति में उपस्थित होने के बारे में जानने पाते हैं।

एक प्रभाव जिस के द्वारा हम व्यक्ति में पवित्र आत्मा की उपस्थिति को जानने पाते हैं, वह है उस व्यक्ति में पवित्र आत्मा के कार्य करते रहने के द्वारा उस व्यक्ति का अंश-अंश कर के प्रभु यीशु की समानता में परिवर्तित होते चले जाना। यह बात 2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18 में कही गई है, जहाँ लिखा गया है कि पवित्र आत्मा अंश-अंश कर के निरन्तर विश्वासी को प्रभु की समानता में परिवर्तित करता रहता है। इसलिए, विश्वासी का निरन्तर मसीह की समानता और आत्मिक परिपक्वता में बढ़ते चले जाना उस के जीवन में पवित्र आत्मा के कार्यरत होने का एक प्रमाण है, जो पवित्र आत्मा के वास्तविक और क्रियाशील होने को भी दिखाता है और उसके बारे में जानने में भी सहायता करता है।

अगले लेख में हम मसीही विश्वासियों से सम्बंधित पवित्र आत्मा के अन्य प्रभावों के बारे में देखेंगे, और साथ ही बहुत ही संक्षिप्त रीति से यह भी देखेंगे के बहुधा बड़े जोर-शोर से कही जाने वाली “अन्य-भाषाएँ” क्यों न तो पवित्र आत्मा के होने का और न ही उसे जानने का प्रमाण हैं।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Holy Spirit & The World – 2

 

We are studying about the Christian Believer being the steward of his God given provisions. These provisions have been given to him by God for leading a life that witnesses for the Lord, fulfills the ministry entrusted to him by God. Living in this manner makes his life blessed and successful by God, on earth as well as for all eternity. Amongst the various provisions given by God to His children – the Born-Again Christian Believers, God the Holy Spirit is given to every Believer the moment he is saved through coming to faith in the Lord Jesus (Ephesians 1:13-14). The Holy Spirit is given to be the Helper, Teacher, and Guide of every Believer, to teach and guide him in his Christian life and ministry. To be a worthy steward of the Holy Spirit, the Believer must learn about Him from God’s Word. The main teachings for this are given in John’s gospel, chapters 14 to 16; and we are studying about the Holy Spirit in our context from these chapters. Having seen from John 14:16 in the earlier articles, we are now considering John 14:17, where the Lord Jesus has stated three things about the Holy Spirit. We have already seen the meaning and implications of the first of these three, i.e., the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth; and since the last article we have started on the second statement in this verse - “…whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him…”. In the last article, we have seen about the first part of this statement, “…whom the world cannot receive…”, understood the meaning of ‘world’ and why the “world” i.e., the people of the world cannot receive Him. From today we will consider the rest of this statement “…because it neither sees Him nor knows Him…”.

We can misunderstand the word ‘sees’ as meaning people of the world cannot visualize, or see Him with physical eyes, and therefore get confused about the meaning and implication of this word in this verse. But before we try to understand this verse as meaning to physically see, we need to remember that the Bible also teaches that no one has ever seen God, the Lord Jesus, God incarnated in flesh, has declared or manifested Him to us (Exodus 33:20; John 1:18; 1 John 4:12). To understand the proper meaning of the word ‘sees’, we need to look at the word used in the original Greek language, that has been translated as ‘sees’ in English. The word used in the Greek language is ‘theoreo’ which means to look upon closely, i.e., to diligently ponder over. So, the Lord Jesus’s words mean that the world neither ponders over, or thinks about the Holy Spirit; nor is capable of doing so. For the Christian Believers, the implication, as stated in the third part of this verse, is that the Born-Again children of God, in whom God the Holy Spirit dwells, helps, guides, and empowers, they should be diligently ‘seeing Him’, i.e., be diligently pondering over Him. It is a common-sense fact of life that the more and better we know about someone or something, the better we can utilize him, his abilities, and his services. Similarly, the more the Believer learns about and ponders about God the Holy Spirit, the better he will be able to utilize His help, guidance, and power for his life and ministry, and thereby the more blessed and successful he will be.

The second thing the Lord Jesus has said in this phrase is that the world does not know the Holy Spirit. So, how can we know Him? Although, not even the Believers can see the Holy Spirit with their eyes, yet His presence can be known and perceived. The Lord Jesus has said, “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:8). Using the analogy of the wind which also is invisible, the Lord explained that just as the effects of the wind manifest and prove the wind’s presence, similarly, the effects of the Holy Spirit in a Believer's life prove His presence in them; and through those effects, we can learn about the Holy Spirit being present in a person.

An effect by which we know of the presence of the Holy Spirit in a person is his gradual transformation into the likeness of the Lord Jesus by the working of Holy Spirit in his life. This has been stated in 2 Corinthians 3:18 it says that Holy Spirit is continually and gradually changing the Believers into the likeness of the Lord, bit by bit. So, this continual progressive change in the life of the Believer, his growing in ‘Christ-likeness’ and spiritually maturing, provides a way to show and know the working of the Holy Spirit in a Believer's life; an evidence of the Holy Spirit being real and working in his life.

In the next article we will see about the other effects of God the Holy Spirit residing in the Christian Believer, and will also very briefly see why the much touted ‘tongues’ is neither a proof of the presence of the Holy Spirit nor of knowing Him.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने यूहन्ना 13 से देखा था कि प्रभु यीशु ने पहले करके दिखाया और उसके बाद शिष्यों को दीनता और सेवा - यदि आवश्यक हो तो औरों के पाँव भी धोने, का पाठ पढ़ाया; अर्थात उन्होंने पहले उसे अपने जीवन में करके दिखाया, फिर उसके बाद किसी से कहा और सिखाया। प्रभु ने इस बात के अंत में कहा, “तुम तो ये बातें जानते हो, और यदि उन पर चलो, तो धन्य हो” (यूहन्ना 13:17)। दूसरे शब्दों में, मसीही विश्वासी, अर्थात्, प्रभु के शिष्य का धन्य होना, उसकी परमेश्वर के वचन तथा प्रभु की शिक्षाओं की जानकारी पर निर्भर नहीं है, परंतु प्रभु के उदाहरणों और निर्देशों का पालन करने के द्वारा है। इस बात को बाद में प्रभु के भाई याकूब ने भी अपनी पत्री में कहा तथा इसकी पुष्टि की (याकूब 1:22-25)। जब हम यूहन्ना 13 को पढ़ते हैं, तब यह प्रकट है कि जब प्रभु ने शिष्यों के पाँव धोए, तब उसने यहूदा इस्करियोती के पाँव भी धोए। क्योंकि प्रभु यीशु यहूदा की वास्तविकता को जानते थे, कुछ ही समय के बाद उसे “विनाश का पुत्र” कहकर संबोधित करने वाले थे (यूहन्ना 17:12), इसलिए स्वाभाविक है कि यूहन्ना 13:17 की प्रतिज्ञा यहूदा के लिए नहीं थी। इसीलिए, प्रभु ने उसे तुरन्त ही स्पष्ट भी कर दिया (यूहन्ना 13:18-19)। प्रभु को अंदेशा था कि बाद में जब शिष्य जो कुछ हुआ उस पर विचार और मनन करेंगे, तब अवश्य ही इस बात पर सोचेंगे कि क्या प्रभु को यहूदा की वास्तविकता का पता था अथवा नहीं? और यदि पता था, तो फिर प्रभु ने उसे क्यों चुना और उसे उनके साथ प्रेरित ठहराया (देखिए मरकुस 3:13-19 तथा लूका 6:13)? शैतान इस बात को शिष्यों के मनों में संदेह उत्पन्न करने के लिए प्रयोग कर सकता था कि क्या यीशु वास्तव में प्रभु और परमेश्वर है? यह न केवल उन तत्कालीन शिष्यों के लिए था, वरन उनके लिए भी जो आने वाले दिनों और समयों में उसके शिष्य बनेंगे।

प्रभु यीशु ने इस बात को चार बातों को कहने के द्वारा स्पष्ट किया (तीन पद 18 में और एक पद 19 में): पहली, वह सभी शिष्यों के आशीषित होने की बात नहीं कह रहा था। दूसरी, जिन्हें उसने चुना था, वह उन्हें जानता था और उनमें यहूदा का सम्मिलित होना किसी धोखे में आकर या अनजाने में किया गया कार्य नहीं था, किन्तु एक उद्देश्य के साथ किया गया था। तीसरी, यहूदा को पवित्र शास्त्र की बात को पूरा करने के लिए चुना गया था, भजन 41:9 की भविष्यवाणी को पूरा करने के लिए। चौथी, बाद में जब वे शिष्य इन बातों पर विचार और मनन करेंगे, तो ये सभी बातें प्रभु के दावों की पुष्टि करेंगे, कि वो कौन है; उन शिष्यों को आश्वस्त करेंगी कि प्रभु के पीछे चलने का निर्णय करके उन्होंने कुछ गलत नहीं किया। इस प्रकार से प्रभु ने पहले से ही शैतान द्वारा इन बातों और घटनाओं के दुरुपयोग करने और तत्कालीन तथा भावी शिष्यों को बहकाने की संभावना को समाप्त कर दिया।

पवित्र शास्त्र की बातों तथा उसके विषय की गई भविष्यवाणियों को पूरा करना प्रभु यीशु के पृथ्वी के जीवन और सेवकाई का एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण भाग थे। पृथ्वी पर आते समय प्रभु ने परमेश्वर पिता से कहा था कि वह पवित्र शास्त्र की बातों और परमेश्वर की इच्छा को पूरा करने के लिए आया है (इब्रानियों 10:5-7)। अपने शिष्यों से उसने कहा था कि उसके लिए परमेश्वर की इच्छा को पूरा करना भोजन के समान है (यूहन्ना 4:34)। क्योंकि उसने सबत के दिन चंगा किया था, इसलिए उसका विरोध कर रहे और उसे जान से मार डालना चाह रहे यहूदियों से प्रभु ने कहा कि वह पृथ्वी पर केवल परमेश्वर की इच्छा को पूरा करने के लिए ही आया है (यूहन्ना 5:30; पूरा खण्ड, यूहन्ना 5:17-47 पढ़िए)। उसने क्रूस पर अपने प्राण तब ही त्यागे जब उसने यह सुनिश्चित कर लिया कि जो कुछ उसके बारे में लिखा गया था, वह सभी पूरा हो चुका है (यूहन्ना 19:28-30)। इसीलिए, पौलुस, पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा, “सुसमाचार” की परिभाषा देते हुए 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-4 में, दो बार, बल देकर वाक्यांश “पवित्र शास्त्र के अनुसार” का प्रयोग करता है। प्रभु यीशु के लिए परमेश्वर के वचन के अनुसार जीना और उसे पूरा करना सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता की बात थी। यही उसके जीवन और सेवकाई का आधार था।

यह हम नया जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों, प्रभु यीशु के शिष्यों, के समक्ष अपने जीवनों को जाँचने के लिए एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात को रखता है - हमारे अपने जीवन में परमेश्वर के वचन का क्या स्थान है? हम परमेश्वर के वचन के साथ कितना समय और प्रयास लगाते हैं? हम परमेश्वर के वचन को औरों तक कितना पहुँचाते हैं? लेकिन साथ ही हमें प्रभु द्वारा यूहन्ना 13:7 में कही गई, तथा बाद में याकूब द्वारा दोहराई गई बात का भी ध्यान रखना है - वे नहीं जो परमेश्वर के वचन को जानते हैं, परंतु जो उसका पालन करते, उसका अनुसरण करते हैं, वे ही धन्य हैं। प्रभु की मेज़, प्रभु के जीवन को, तथा विशेषकर क्रूस पर चढ़ाए जाने के लिए पकड़वाए जाने से पहले उनके जीवन की इन अंतिम घटनाओं, निर्देशों, और वार्तालापों को याद करने के दृष्टिकोण से, मसीही जीवन और सेवकाई के बारे में हमें इस बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बात को याद दिलाती है; और परमेश्वर के वचन के हमारे जीवनों में वास्तविक स्थान से संबंधित सभी गलतियों और कमियों को समझने तथा सुधारने का अवसर हमारे सामने रखती है।

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं तथा आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है। आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

The Lord’s Table - A Remembrance for Giving Proper Time & Place to God’s Word 

 

In the previous article we had seen from John 13 that the Lord Jesus first demonstrated and then taught His disciples humility and serving others, even washing other’s feet, if necessary, i.e., He first practiced or demonstrated in His life, and then taught it. The Lord concluded by saying that “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them” (John 13:17). In other words, it is not the Christian Believer, i.e., the Lord’s disciple’s knowledge about the Word of God and Lord’s teachings, but obeying the Lord’s examples and instructions that makes him blessed. This was later affirmed by the Lord’s brother James in his Epistle, in James 1:22-25. As we read John 13, it is apparent that when the Lord washed the disciple’s feet, He washed the feet of Judas Iscariot as well. Since the Lord Jesus knew the reality of Judas, whom He addresses as “son of perdition” sometime later (John 17:12), it is obvious that the Lord’s promise of John 13:17 would not be applicable to Judas. Therefore, the Lord immediately clarifies about it (John 13:18-19) also. He had anticipated that later on as the disciples would think over all that happened, they would wonder whether or not the Lord knew about Judas? If He did, then why did He allow him to be with them as an Apostle, giving him all the powers and abilities as He did to the others (see Mark 3:13-19 and Luke 6:13)? Satan could use this to create doubts in the disciple’s hearts, about Jesus being Lord and God. This would be true not only for those disciples, but also for those who would believe on Him and become His disciples in the days and times to come.

The Lord Jesus clarifies by saying four things (three in verse 18 and one in verse 19): Firstly, He was not speaking about all the disciples being blessed. Secondly, He knew the ones He had chosen; and Judas’s inclusion with them was not inadvertent or accidental, it was deliberate, it was with a purpose. Thirdly, Judas was chosen to fulfil the Scriptures, the prophecy of Psalm 41:9. Fourthly, later on, as they ponder over these things, the happenings will serve to affirm His claim of being who He said He is; will assure them that they have not made any mistake in following Him. Thereby He nullified the possibilities of Satan misusing these events against Him, to misguide the disciples, those and the future ones.

Fulfilling the Scriptures and the prophecies about Him was an integral and very important part of the Lord’s earthly ministry. At the time of His coming to earth, the Lord had said to God the Father that He had come to earth to fulfil the Scriptures and do the will of God (Hebrews 10:5-7). To His disciples, He had likened His doing God’s will as His food (John 4:34). He said to the Jews opposing Him and wanting to kill Him for healing on a sabbath, that He was on earth to do God’s will (John 5:30; read 5:17-47). He only gave up His Spirit, after making sure that all things written about Him had been fulfilled (John 19:28-30). Therefore, Paul, through the Holy Spirit, in defining what the “Gospel” is, in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, twice, pointedly, uses the term “according to the Scriptures.” Living by and fulfilling the Word of God was of paramount importance for the Lord Jesus. It was the very basis of His life and ministry.

This places before us, the Born-Again Christian Believers, the disciples of the Lord Jesus, a very important point to examine our lives - what place does God’s Word have in our lives? How much time and effort do we spend with God’s Word? How much do we spread the Word of God? But we should also remember what the Lord said in John 13:17, and James affirmed later - not those who hear and know God’s Word, but those who do it, those who obey and follow it - they are blessed. The Lord’s Table, as a remembrance of the life of the Lord and especially the remembrance of the last events and instructions and conversation of the Lord, before His being caught and taken for crucifixion, should make us ponder over this very important aspect of Christian living and ministry, and we should seriously endeavor to correct our deficiencies about the place of the Word of God in our lives.

If you are a Christian Believer and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually a disciple of the Lord, i.e., are redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers, first check and test all teachings that you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then to ensure your eternal life and heavenly rewards, take a decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now. Wherever there is surrender and obedience towards the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s blessings and safety are also there. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.

    दूसरे शब्दों में, परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल इस बात के लिए सुस्पष्ट है कि ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है, बिल्कुल भी नहीं, जो परमेश्वर को पता न हो। उसके सर्वज्ञानी परमेश्वर होने से उसके लोगों को उसके प्रति बहुत बड़ा भरोसा है, और वे उसकी प्रतिज्ञाओं पर विश्वास रखते हैं कि:

    इसलिए, वास्तविक मसीही विश्वासी, जिन्होंने “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” बनाए रखा है, वे सुरक्षित और सकुशल रहेंगे, उनके द्वारा “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” बनाए रखने के कारण।

    अगले लेख में हम परमेश्वर के एक अन्य सम्बन्धित गुण, परमेश्वर का सर्वसामर्थी होना, के बारे में देखेंगे; यह गुण भी मसीही विश्वासियों को “परमेश्वर पर विश्वास” करने में स्थिर बने रहने में सहायता करता है।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Faith Towards God - 6

 

    We are presently considering the second of the six elementary principles that are mentioned in Hebrews 6:1-2, and every Christian Believer should learn. This second principle is having “Faith Towards God.” Unless the Christian Believer’s faith towards God and His Word is firm and unshakeable, Satan will be able to mislead them into committing sin. To stay safe from this satanic ploy we are learning from God’s Word the Bible about the attributes, characteristics, and character of God, so that the Believers have a strong foundation to build their faith upon. One of Satan’s ploy is to bring in false teachings and wrong interpretations of God’s Word and through them to create doubts about God, His attributes, characteristics, and character; and thereby beguile people into committing sin by going against what God has said. Therefore, it is imperative to know the basis of having “Faith Towards God” that is built upon a firm foundation. In the last article we had considered God’s attribute of being present everywhere all the time, i.e., being omnipresent, which had also led us to the attribute we will be considering today, God being omniscient, i.e., all knowledgeable, knowing everything about everything.

    God has said that He knows the end from the beginning, “Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, 'My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure'” (Isaiah 46:9-10). God not only knows everything happening in the world but even in the entire creation. Till now man does not know the actual number of the stars, but God not only knows their count, but also calls them by name, “He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name” (Psalm 147:4). God also knows all men and what is in man “But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man” (John 2:24-25). David had told his son Solomon, that God knows even the intent of the thoughts of man, “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever” (1 Chronicles 28:9). David also said about God knowing everything about him, “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether” (Psalm 139:1-4). And David also spoke about God knowing in intricate detail his being formed and growing in his mother’s womb, i.e., even before he was born into the world; he says, “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them” (Psalm 139:14-16).

    In other words, Bible, the Word of God is very clear that there is nothing, absolutely nothing that God does not know about. His being the omniscient God gives His people great confidence and faith in His promises, that:

• He has planned a good future for His people “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11);

• God has not left things to the Believer’s imagination, lest Satan beguile them into wrong doing through some ploy; He has already prepared the good works that we are to do “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10);

• He has also assured us that His people will never be tested beyond their limits, and when they are tested, a way out will also be provided to them, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13);

• No one can bring any charge against God’s people, and nothing can separate them from the love of God “Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:33-39).

So, the true Christian Believers, those who have kept “Faith towards God,” are safe and secure in God, because of their “Faith towards God.”

    On the other hand, those who do not have “Faith towards God,” and those who do not obey God, should seriously ponder, that in view of His being omniscient, knowing everything about everything, they will never be able to outwit God through any reasoning or excuses they make. He not only knows what they say and do, and why; but even knows what is in them, knows their thoughts, and knows the intents behind their thoughts. So, at judgment time none of their reasoning or excuses will stand before God, they will not have any grounds to justify themselves before Him and give any convincing answer for their not obeying God, or for their rejecting coming to faith in God. Therefore, they will receive a just consequence of their disobedience of God or their rejecting Him.

    In the next article we will consider another related attribute of God that helps the Christian Believers stand firm in their “Faith towards God” i.e., the omnipotence of God.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
