कलीसिया से बहिष्कृत करना – 7

नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासियों को जिस कलीसिया और विश्वासियों की सहभागिता में परमेश्वर ने उन्हें रखा है, वहाँ पर परमेश्वर के भण्डारी होने के नाते, उनकी भूमिका पर यह अन्तिम लेख है। अपने भण्डारी होने के उचित निर्वाह के लिए, उन्हें कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी तथा अन्य विश्वासियों की आत्मिक उन्नति को सुनिश्चित करना है। अभी तक हमने इस भण्डारी होने के बारे में जो सीखा है, यह लेख उन बातों के निहितार्थों और व्यावहारिक उपयोग की समीक्षा को सामने रखता है। इसका उद्देश्य पाठकों को उकसाना है कि वे कलीसिया में अपनी भूमिका के बारे में सचेत हों, उस भूमिका के विषय गंभीरता से विचार करें, और अपनी जिम्मेदारियों के उचित निर्वाह में लग जाएँ, न कि जैसे वे अभी तक करते आए हैं, वैसे ही बने रहें। कलीसियाओं के सदस्य, विश्वासी, सामान्यतः निष्क्रिय और मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करने वाले होकर कलीसिया या मण्डलियों में गुटों और विभाजनों को होने और पनपने देते हैं, और कुछ लोगों को कलीसिया में अपनी मनमानी करते रहने देते हैं। परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होने के नाते प्रत्येक विश्वासी को उस कलीसिया और सहभागिता के बारे में जिस में परमेश्वर ने उसे रखा है, तथा वहाँ अपनी भूमिका के बारे में गम्भीरता से विचार करना चाहिए।

प्रत्येक कलीसिया या मण्डली के सभी विश्वासियों को कलीसिया और सहभागिता से सम्बन्धित इन तथ्यों पर भी विचार करना चाहिए, क्योंकि:

• कलीसिया का स्वामी परमेश्वर है, और कलीसिया परमेश्वर का निवास-स्थान है, प्रभु की देह और दुल्हन है;

• परमेश्वर ही व्यक्ति को कलीसिया का अंग बनाता है, और निर्णय करता है कि किसे कहाँ पर किस संगति में रखना है;

• कलीसिया के सभी सदस्य परमेश्वर द्वारा नियुक्त उसके भण्डारी हैं, ताकि उसने उन्हें जो ज़िम्मेदारियाँ दी हैं उन्हें पूरा करें;

• परमेश्वर की इच्छा के बिना कोई भी कलीसिया का अंग नहीं बन सकता है, और सदस्यता की इस प्रक्रिया में किसी भी मनुष्य की कोई भूमिका नहीं है;

• नया-जन्म पाए हुए सभी विश्वासी समान रूप से परमेश्वर की सन्तान हैं, समान रूप से परमेश्वर के परिवार के सदस्य हैं, किसी में भी परस्पर कोई भिन्नता नहीं है;

• परमेश्वर ने सभी का न्याय अपने ही हाथों में रखा है (रोमियों 12:19), और हमें यह निर्देश दिया है कि समय से पहले किसी का कोई न्याय न करें (1 कुरिन्थियों 4:5);

• परमेश्वर कभी भी अपने किसी भी विश्वासी को अपने परिवार और राज्य से निष्कासित नहीं करता है, और न ही आज तक किसी को किया है, चाहे उस विश्वासी का जीवन और व्यवहार कैसा भी क्यों न हो; उसके पापों के लिए विश्वासी की ताड़ना होती है, किन्तु वह निष्कासित नहीं किया जाता है;

• कोई भी विश्वासी दोष रहित नहीं है, सभी भिन्न-भिन्न प्रकार से पाप करते ही रहते हैं और उन्हें बारंबार क्षमा और बहाली के लिए परमेश्वर के सामने आते रहना ही पड़ता है (1 यूहन्ना 1:9); और कोई भी अपने आप से परमेश्वर के सामने खड़ा नहीं रह सकता है (भजन 130:3);

 

इसलिए,

• किसी भी व्यक्ति के पास, कलीसिया या मण्डली में उसकी अपनी सेवकाई, ओहदा, प्रतिष्ठा चाहे जो भी हो, परमेश्वर की इच्छा की अनदेखी कर के, अपनी ही इच्छा पूरी करने और करवाने का अधिकार नहीं है।

• किसी भी व्यक्ति के पास, कलीसिया या मण्डली में उसकी सेवकाई, ओहदा, प्रतिष्ठा चाहे जो भी हो, अपनी ही धारणाओं को, ऐसी धारणाएं जो उसकी अपनी बुद्धि और समझ की उपज हैं, किन्तु जो परमेश्वर के वचन में नहीं हैं, और न ही परमेश्वर के वचन के विशिष्ट उदाहरणों के द्वारा उनकी पुष्टि होती है, उन बातों को दूसरों पर थोपने, उनका प्रचार करने, उन्हें सिखाने का अधिकार अथवा अनुमति नहीं है।

• कोई भी व्यक्ति, किसी अन्य विश्वासी के साथ व्यक्तिगत मतभेदों और कलह के कारण, औरों को उस विश्वासी के साथ सहभागिता रखने से मना नहीं कर सकता है। बल्कि उसे स्वयं भी यह नहीं करना चाहिए। कोई भी किसी से यह कहने के द्वारा कि “या तो उसके साथ संगति रखो या हमारे साथ; यदि उसके साथ संगति रखते हो तो फिर हम से अलग रहो” किसी अन्य विश्वासी पर, परमेश्वर की अन्य सन्तानों पर, यह नहीं थोप सकता है कि, वे परमेश्वर की कलीसिया या सहभागिता में एक विभाजन या गुट में रहने का निर्णय लेने के लिए बाध्य हो जाएँ या ऐसे किसी निर्णय में सम्मिलित हो जाएँ।

• यह बात तब और भी महत्वपूर्ण हो जाती है जब वे मतभेद और कलह विश्वासियों के मध्य व्यक्तिगत कारणों से हों या मात्र व्यक्तिगत स्तर के हों। व्यक्ति इन मतभेदों और कलह के निवारण के लिए कलीसिया की सहायता ले सकता है; किन्तु क्या यह सही होगा कि वह उन के कारण कलीसिया के अन्य सदस्यों पर गुट या विभाजन के लिए ज़ोर दे या बाध्य करे? चाहे वे मतभेद और कलह कलीसिया के कार्य और संचालन से सम्बन्धित ही क्यों न हों, यदि उनका निवारण मत्ती 18:15-17 में प्रभु द्वारा स्थापित प्रक्रिया के अनुसार नहीं किया गया है, तो इस तरह से यह विभाजन कदापि किया या करवाया नहीं जा सकता है। जबकि, परमेश्वर का वचन सभी विश्वासियों को यही सिखाता है कि क्षमा और मेल-मिलाप में होकर काम करें और गलती करने वाले विश्वासी को संगति में लौटा ले आएँ (2 कुरिन्थियों 2:5-9; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 3:14-15)। तो फिर विभाजन की ये दीवारें खड़ी क्यों की जाएँ,  बना कर क्यों रखी जाएँ, और क्यों औरों को भी इन्हें बना कर रखने के लिए बाध्य किया जाए? क्यों किसी से कहा जा या तो इस विभाजन को स्वीकार करो अन्यथा पृथक हो जाओ?

• परमेश्वर ने कुछ विश्वासियों से अलग हटने या उन से बच कर रहने के लिए कुछ कारण दिए हैं (रोमियों 16:17; 1 कुरिन्थियों 5:11; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 3:6-15; 1 तीमुथियुस 6:3-5; 2 यूहन्ना 1:10)। किन्तु परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए इन कारणों के अतिरिक्त, किसी के पास भी यह अधिकार अथवा अनुमति नहीं है कि किसी विश्वासी को अलग कर देने के लिए वह अपने ही बनाए हुए नियम गढ़े और परमेश्वर की कलीसिया पर, परमेश्वर की सन्तानों पर उन्हें थोप दे। वरन्, रोमियों 16:17 तो यही कहता है कि कलीसिया में इस प्रकार से विभाजन करने वालों से दूर रहना है।

• क्या कोई भी व्यक्ति परमेश्वर से अधिक शुद्ध और पवित्र है, या हो सकता है? जब पाप की प्रवृत्ति रखने वाले विश्वासियों के साथ सहभागिता बनाए रखने से परमेश्वर की शुद्धता और पवित्रता पर कोई दाग़ नहीं आता है, वह बिगड़ती नहीं है, तो फिर पाप की प्रवृत्ति रखने वाले किसी व्यक्ति की, किसी अन्य पाप की प्रवृत्ति रखने वाले विश्वासी के साथ, जिससे वह सहमत नहीं है, सहभागिता रखने से उस व्यक्ति की शुद्धता और पवित्रता कैसे बिगड़ सकती है; उसके साथ सहभागिता में रहने को “समझौता करना” कैसे कहा जा सकता है? और फिर, अन्ततः तो हम सभी विश्वासी उसी एक ही स्वर्ग में उसी एक ही प्रभु के पास जाकर, एक साथ ही रहेंगे; तो फिर यह कार्य यहीं इसी पृथ्वी पर ही क्यों न आरम्भ कर लें? क्यों अपने ढीठ और बाइबल विरोधी आचरण के द्वारा अपनी तथा औरों की अनन्तकालीन आशीषों की हानि करें और करवाएं?

परमेश्वर को अपनी कलीसिया में, अपनी सन्तानों के मध्य मनुष्यों द्वारा खड़ी की गई बाधाएँ और दीवारें नहीं चाहिएं। बल्कि वह चाहता है कि लोग और कलीसियाएँ अलग करने वाली सभी दीवारों को गिरा दें, और एक दूसरे के साथ प्रेम और क्षमा की आत्मा के साथ मेल-मिलाप कर लें।

औरों को ज़ोर देकर प्रतिदिन सुसमाचार बाँटने, प्रेम से और मिल-जुल कर रहने, क्षमा करने, आदि के लिए कहना, जबकि स्वयं कलीसिया और परमेश्वर की सन्तानों के मध्य मतभेदों और विभाजनों को बनाए रखना, पनपने देना, परस्पर मेल-मिलाप नहीं होने देना, एक पाखण्ड करना है, दोगलापन है। जब हम परमेश्वर की सन्तानों से, हमें परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए परिवार के लोगों से प्रेम नहीं कर सकते हैं, तो हम सँसार के लोगों के साथ प्रेम करने का दावा कैसे कर सकते हैं (मत्ती 5:22-24; 1 यूहन्ना 4:20)? परमेश्वर की सन्तान होने के नाते यदि हम एक-दूसरे के साथ प्रेम और क्षमा नहीं दिखा सकते हैं, मेल-मिलाप नहीं कर सकते हैं, तो हम सच्चे मन से कैसे प्रेम, क्षमा, और मेल-मिलाप के सुसमाचार को औरों को प्रचार कर सकते हैं?

अगले लेख से हम मसीही विश्वासी के पवित्र आत्मा के वरदानों का भण्डारी होने के बारे में देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

    This is the concluding article on the role of Born-Again Christian Believers being God’s stewards of the Church and fellowship where God has placed them. To worthily fulfill their stewardship, they need to ensure the growth of the Church and spiritual progress of the fellow Believers. This article sums up the implications and applications of what we have learnt about this stewardship. It is meant to provoke the readers into seriously thinking about their role in the Church and becoming active about their responsibilities, instead of passively carrying on, as they have been so far. Church members, Believers, generally allow divisions and factions in the church to be created or maintained for the sake of pleasing men; they also let some people do whatever they want to in the Church. As steward of God, every Believer seriously needs to think over his membership and placement by God in a particular Church or Assembly, and the role he should be playing in that Fellowship.

All Believers in every Church or Assembly should ponder over the following facts pertaining to the Church, Since:

• The Church belongs to God, is meant to be His dwelling place, the Body and Bride of the Lord;

• It is God who joins a person to a Church, and decides whom to place where and in which fellowship;

• Members of the Church are only God appointed stewards, to carry out responsibilities assigned to them by Him;

• Without the will of God, no one can become a member of the Church, and no man has any role in their membership of God’s Church;

• All Born Again Christian Believers are equally the children of God, are equally the members of God's family, without any differentiation of any kind;

• God has kept all judgement to Himself (Romans 12:19), has instructed us not to judge anyone for anything before time (1 Corinthians 4:5);

• God has never cast any Believer away from His family or Kingdom, and never will, despite whatever the Believer’s life and behavior may be; the Believer is chastised for his sins but he is never cast away;

• No Believer is above reproach, all keep sinning in various ways all the time, and need to keep coming to God for forgiveness and restoration (1 John 1:8-10); on our own, none can stand before God, (Psalm 130:3);

 Therefore,

• No person in the Church of God, because of his own status and standing, has the authority to ignore or over-ride God’s will and do, not the will of God but his own will.

• No person, irrespective of his ministry, position, and standing in the Church, has the permission or authority to preach, teach, or impose his own notions upon others, notions that are based on his own wisdom and understanding, but are not in conformity with the teachings of God’s Word, cannot be specifically verified from God’s Word.

• No person, because of personal differences of opinions and disagreements with another Believer, can forbid others from having fellowship with that Believer. Rather, even he should not stop fellowshipping with them. No one can impose this upon others, compel the other children of God to take a divisive stand by stating "either fellowship with us or with them; if you are fellowshipping with ‘them’ then stay away from us." Doing this is creating factions and divisions in the Church or Assembly of God.

• This becomes all the more important when those differences amongst Believers are only personal and between individuals. A person can take the help of the Church to resolve those differences; but is it correct for anyone to impose divisions and factionalism upon the other members of the Church because of them? Even if the differences are related to the functioning and matters of the Church, if they have not been resolved in the manner instructed by the Lord in Matthew 18:15-17; then no one can impose this segregation. Moreover, God's Word teaches all Believers to forgive, be reconciled, and restore the errant Believer back into fellowship (2 Corinthians 2:5-9; 2 Thessalonians 3:14-15). Then why should the walls of divisions be put up and kept up, and why should others be compelled to either maintain those differences, or else get separated from the Assembly.

• God has given the criteria to separate from or avoid some Believers (Romans 16:17; 1 Corinthians 5:11; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15; 1 Timothy 6:3-5; 2 John 1:10). But other than these God given criteria, no one has the right to or authority to create and impose their own contrived criteria and methods for segregation amongst Believers in God's Church, upon God's children. Rather, Romans 16:17 instructs the Believers to avoid those who cause divisions and factions in the Church.

• Is any man, or a group of men holier than God, purer than Him; or, can be? If God’s holiness and purity is not tarnished by fellowshipping with sinful Believers, then how can any sinful person’s holiness and purity get tarnished, be adversely affected by fellowshipping with some other similarly sinful Christian Believer, with whom they are not in agreement; how can fellowshipping with him be called “compromising”? In any case if we are all going to live together in the same heaven with the same Lord, then why not start doing it now and here on earth, instead of harming our blessings, and of others by our obstinate unBiblical behavior?

God does not want any man-made barriers and divisive walls amongst His children, in His Church. Rather, He wants to see people and churches break down all walls of separation, and be reconciled with each other in the spirit of love and forgiveness.

Emphatically exhorting others to share the Gospel daily, live with mutual love and harmony, forgive others, while simultaneously promoting or maintaining separation and differences in the Churches and amongst Church members, the children of God, and not allowing reconciliation to happen is hypocrisy. When we cannot love the children of God, the members of our God given family, how can we claim to love the children of the world (Matthew 5:22-24; 1 John 4:20)? Being the children of God, if we cannot live in love and forgiveness with each other, cannot be reconciled with each other, then how can we truthfully preach the Gospel of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation to others?

From the next article we will begin considering the Christian Believer’s stewardship of gifts of the Holy Spirit.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repent of your sins and ask the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrender yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

हम पिछले कुछ लेखों में अपरिवर्तित मनुष्य के पापों को परमेश्वर द्वारा,प्रेरितों 17:30 में, “अज्ञानता के समय का पाप” कहे जाने को समझने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं। प्रेरित पौलुस द्वारा, अथेने के घोर मूर्तिपूजा और परमेश्वर के लिए घृणित, अस्वीकार्य व्यवहार में लिप्त लोगों के लिए, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में किए गए प्रचार में, उन लोगों के लिए परमेश्वर के प्रकोप से बचने और परमेश्वर के साथ संगति में बहाल होने के लिए दिया गया समाधान था, “इसलिये परमेश्वर अज्ञानता के समयों में आनाकानी कर के, अब हर जगह सब मनुष्यों को मन फिराने की आज्ञा देता है” (प्रेरितों 17:30); और इस समाधान में तीन रोचक तथा बहुत महत्वपूर्ण बातें हैं:

1. परमेश्वर पाप के लिए तुरंत दण्ड देने के स्थान पर, उन पापों को अज्ञानता के समय में किए गए कार्य बता कर, उनके दण्ड से बच जाने का अवसर देता है।

2. पापी मनुष्यों द्वारा पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करना, सब जगह के सभी मनुष्यों के लिए, परमेश्वर की इच्छा-मात्र नहीं, आज्ञा है। 

3. परमेश्वर उन लोगों से, उनके पापों के समाधान के लिए, व्यवस्था का पालन करने के लिए नहीं कहता है; बल्कि सभी लोगों से मन फिराने, तथा पश्चाताप करने के द्वारा पापों की क्षमा पाने और विश्वास करने के लिए कहता है।

अब हमारे सामने प्रश्न है कि क्यों प्रेरितों 17:30 में परमेश्वर अपरिवर्तित मनुष्यों के घोर पापों को भी अज्ञानता के समय के कार्य मानकर, उनके विषय उन लोगों को दण्ड देने से आनाकानी करता है, उन्हें दण्ड से बचने का अवसर प्रदान करता है, सभी को अपने-अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करने की आज्ञा देता है? असमंजस में डालने वाले इस प्रश्न का उत्तर परमेश्वर के चरित्र और गुणों में, उसके सच्चा खरा न्यायी होने में छुपा हुआ है। निर्गमन 34:6-7 में परमेश्वर ने स्वयं को मूसा पर इस रीति से प्रकट किया: “और यहोवा उसके साम्हने हो कर यों प्रचार करता हुआ चला, कि ‘यहोवा, यहोवा, ईश्वर दयालु और अनुग्रहकारी, कोप करने में धीरजवन्त, और अति करूणामय और सत्य, हजारों पीढिय़ों तक निरन्तर करूणा करने वाला, अधर्म और अपराध और पाप का क्षमा करने वाला है, परन्तु दोषी को वह किसी प्रकार निर्दोष न ठहराएगा, वह पितरों के अधर्म का दण्ड उनके बेटों वरन पोतों और परपोतों को भी देने वाला है।’” बाद में मूसा ने परमेश्वर के विषय व्यवस्थाविवरण 32:4 में लिखा कि “वह चट्टान है, उसका काम खरा है; और उसकी सारी गति न्याय की है। वह सच्चा ईश्वर है, उस में कुटिलता नहीं, वह धर्मी और सीधा है।” व्यक्ति धर्मी हो या अधर्मी, पापी हो या उद्धार और पाप क्षमा पाया हुआ, परमेश्वर हर किसी के साथ अपनी सच्चाई, खराई, ईमानदारी, और पक्षपात रहित होने के गुणों के अनुसार ही व्यवहार करता है। उसके ये गुण, उसका यह चरित्र बदलता नहीं है, सदा ही सभी के लिए समान बना रहता है, कार्यकारी रहता है।  

परमेश्वर हम मनुष्यों की रचना और क्षमता को भली-भांति जानता है; उसे सदा ध्यान रहता है कि मनुष्य मिट्टी ही है: “क्योंकि वह हमारी सृष्टि जानता है; और उसको स्मरण रहता है कि मनुष्य मिट्टी ही है” (भजन 103:14)। परमेश्वर किसी दुष्ट की भी मृत्यु से प्रसन्न नहीं होता है, वरन चाहता है कि सभी लोग पाप का दंड पाने से बच जाएँ “सो तू ने उन से यह कह, परमेश्वर यहोवा की यह वाणी है, मेरे जीवन की सौगन्ध, मैं दुष्ट के मरने से कुछ भी प्रसन्न नहीं होता, परन्तु इस से कि दुष्ट अपने मार्ग से फिर कर जीवित रहे; हे इस्राएल के घराने, तुम अपने अपने बुरे मार्ग से फिर जाओ; तुम क्यों मरो?” (यहेजकेल 33:11)।

परमेश्वर की यह कदापि इच्छा नहीं है कि मनुष्य किसी बुराई में फंसे, और गिरे; न तो वह स्वयं बुराई के द्वारा परखा जाता है, और न ही वह बुराई के द्वारा किसी की परीक्षा करता है: “जब किसी की परीक्षा हो, तो वह यह न कहे, कि मेरी परीक्षा परमेश्वर की ओर से होती है; क्योंकि न तो बुरी बातों से परमेश्वर की परीक्षा हो सकती है, और न वह किसी की परीक्षा आप करता है” (याकूब 1:13)। 

साथ ही परमेश्वर का आश्वासन भी है कि वह हमें हमारी सामर्थ्य से बाहर किसी परीक्षा में नहीं पड़ने देगा, वरन परीक्षा के साथ निकासी का मार्ग भी देगा: “तुम किसी ऐसी परीक्षा में नहीं पड़े, जो मनुष्य के सहने से बाहर है: और परमेश्वर सच्चा है: वह तुम्हें सामर्थ्य से बाहर परीक्षा में न पड़ने देगा, वरन परीक्षा के साथ निकास भी करेगा; कि तुम सह सको” (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13)। इसी लिए परमेश्वर हम मनुष्यों को शैतान द्वारा धूर्तता और चतुराई से लाई गई हमारी सामर्थ्य से बाहर परीक्षाओं में गिरा देने और पाप कर बैठने के लिए बहका देने से उत्पन्न स्थिति की आनाकानी करने और सभी मनुष्यों को पाप के दण्ड से बचने का अवसर देने के लिए तैयार है। हम अगले लेख में इसके बारे में थोड़ा और देखेंगे। 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Man’s Ignorance - 2

Over the last few articles, we've been trying to understand why God has called the sins of the unregenerate man the "sins of the time of ignorance" in Acts 17:30. The Apostle Paul while preaching under the guidance of God's Holy Spirit, to those in Athens, a people given to blatant idolatry and works detested by God, speaks to them about the way to their becoming acceptable to God, being restored to fellowship with God, and escaping His wrath. The God given solution was, "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30). There are three interesting and very important points in what Paul said here:

1. Instead of immediately punishing them for their sins, God gives an opportunity for them to be saved from their punishment, by treating those sins as done in times of ignorance.

2. That all men everywhere repent for their sins is God’s command, not a mere desire expressed by God.

3. God is not asking the people to obey the Law; but is asking everyone to repent, to seek forgiveness of sins, and to believe in the Lord Jesus, for the redressal of their sins.

Now the question before us is why in Acts 17:30 is God reluctant to punish even those who are unregenerate, the unsaved? Why is He willing to consider the grievous sins of unconverted men to be acts of ignorance, and give them the opportunity to escape punishment, by commanding them to repent of their sins? The answer to this perplexing question lies in the character and attributes of God, in His being the honest and upright Judge. In Exodus 34:6-7, God had revealed Himself to Moses as: “And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, ‘The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation.’” Later, in Deuteronomy 32:4 Moses says of God that, “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He." Whether a person is righteous or unrighteous, sinner or saved and forgiven, God treats everyone according to His own attributes of truth, integrity, honesty, and being impartial. These qualities of His, His character never ever changes; His character and attributes always remain the same for all.

God knows all too well the creation and capabilities of us humans; He always remembers that man is dust: “For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust" (Psalm 103:14). Even the death of a wicked person does not please God; God wants everyone to be saved from the punishment of sin “Say to them: 'As I live,' says the Lord God, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?'” (Ezekiel 33:11).

It is never in the will of God that man should ever be ensnared by evil, and fall into sin. Neither is He ever tempted by evil, nor does He ever tempt anyone with evil: “Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone" (James 1:13).

Also, it is God's assurance that He will not allow us to be tempted beyond our ability, but will also give us a way out of the temptation: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). That's why God is ready to overlook these times of our ignorance and give us humans the opportunity and the way to be delivered from the consequences of the devious and cunning tricks of Satan, his satanic ploys that are beyond our capabilities to manage, through which he leads us into sin. We will see some more on this in the next article.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि मनुष्य उद्धार पाने के बावजूद अपने आप से, शैतान पर विजयी नहीं हो सकता है। आज, इसी बात को जारी रखते हुए, हम परमेश्वर के वचन से देखते हैं कि, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने प्रेरित यूहन्ना और पौलुस के जीवन से दिखाया और लिखवाया है कि मसीही विश्वासी को प्रतिदिन, हर समय पाप के साथ जूझना पड़ता है; और कोई भी मसीही विश्वासी पाप करने से बचा हुआ नहीं है। प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने तो “हम” कहकर अपने आप को पाप करते रहने वालों में सम्मिलित करते हुए लिखा कि “यदि हम कहें, कि हम में कुछ भी पाप नहीं, तो अपने आप को धोखा देते हैं: और हम में सत्य नहीं। यदि हम अपने पापों को मान लें, तो वह हमारे पापों को क्षमा करने, और हमें सब अधर्म से शुद्ध करने में विश्वासयोग्य और धर्मी है। यदि कहें कि हम ने पाप नहीं किया, तो उसे झूठा ठहराते हैं, और उसका वचन हम में नहीं है” (1 यूहन्ना 1:8-10)। इसी प्रकार से पौलुस प्रेरित ने रोमियों 7:12-25 में पाप तथा शारीरिक प्रवृत्तियों के साथ अपने निरंतर चलने वाले संघर्ष के बारे में लिखा, जिस संघर्ष में बहुत बार पाप और शरीर उस पर विजयी भी हो जाते हैं। 

इन उदाहरणों से यह स्पष्ट है कि मनुष्य चाहे वह प्रभु का जन हो, चाहे उद्धार पाया हुआ विश्वासी हो, वह केवल अपने आप में शैतान, उसकी युक्तियों, फंदों, और चालाकियों का सामना करने में पूर्णतः असमर्थ है, जब तक कि प्रभु की सुरक्षा उसके साथ न हो। जैसे ही कोई भी विश्वासी शैतान को ज़रा सा भी अवसर देता है, शैतान उसे पाप में फँसा और गिरा देता है। किन्तु फिर भी परमेश्वर मनुष्य के प्रति धैर्य रखता है, उसे तुरंत ही उसके किए का परिणाम नहीं देता है। जैसा कि प्रेरितों 17:30 में लिखा है, परमेश्वर शारीरिक, अपरिवर्तित मनुष्य के पापों को “अज्ञानता के समय की बातें” कहकर उनके लिए आनाकानी करने के लिये भी तैयार है, यदि पापी मनुष्य अपने पापों को मानकर उनके लिये पश्चाताप करने के लिये तैयार हो। और मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए, यदि उनसे पाप हो जाए और वे उसका अंगीकार और पश्चाताप कर लें, तो वह उन्हें 1 यूहन्ना 1:9 के अनुसार क्षमा और बहाल करने के लिए भी तैयार रहता है। 

तो अभी भी ये प्रश्न हमारे सामने बने हुए हैं कि, मनुष्य अपने आप में शैतान के सामने इतना असमर्थ क्यों है? और दूसरा, कि यदि मनुष्य अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करने के लिये तैयार है, तो परमेश्वर शारीरिक, अपरिवर्तित मनुष्य के पापों को “अज्ञानता के समय की बातें” कहकर, उनके लिए आनाकानी करने को तैयार क्यों है? इन्हें समझने के लिए कुछ और बातों पर विचार करना, और फिर उनके निष्कर्षों को साथ में लेकर चलना भी आवश्यक है। इन विचारणीय बातों को हम अगले लेखों में देखेंगे। अभी के लिए हमें, विशेषकर मसीही विश्वासियों को, 1 कुरिन्थियों 10:12 की बात, “इसलिये जो समझता है, कि मैं स्थिर हूं, वह चौकस रहे; कि कहीं गिर न पड़े” के अनुसार सचेत रहने और इस चेतावनी पर बहुत ध्यान देने और पालन करना अनिवार्य है। हम अपने जीवनों में जब भी, जहाँ भी परमेश्वर द्वारा स्थापित व्यवहार और सीमाओं से, ‘बाड़े’ से ज़रा सा भी बाहर निकलेंगे, सभोपदेशक 10:8 के अनुसार शैतान तुरंत ही हमें डस लेगा, और पाप में गिरा देगा; जिसके समाधान के लिए हमें उस पाप को प्रभु परमेश्वर के सामने मानना होगा, पश्चाताप करना होगा।

अगले लेख में हम बाइबल के अनुसार उन कारणों को देखेंगे कि क्यों मनुष्य केवल अपने आप से कभी भी शैतान पर जयवन्त नहीं हो सकता है।

Why The Law Cannot Save Us – 4

Man, on his own, is Incapable of Overcoming Satan - 2

 

Today, we will continue with what we saw in the previous article, that despite being saved, man, on his own, is incapable of being victorious over Satan. We see from God’s Word that God the Holy Spirit showed from the lives of the apostles John and Paul, and also had it written that the Christian Believers have to contend with sin every day, all the time, and that no Christian is free from committing sin. The apostle John included himself amongst those who continue to sin by the use of "we". He wrote, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us" (1 John 1:8-10). Similarly, the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 7:12–25 about his continual struggle with sin and carnal tendencies, a struggle in which sin and the flesh often triumphed.

It is clear from these examples that man, even if he is a follower of the Lord, is a saved Believer, yet when on his own, he is absolutely incapable of overcoming Satan and his tricks, snares, and devices, without the safety and protection provided by the Lord. The moment any Believer gives Satan the slightest opportunity, Satan traps and makes him fall into sin. But yet God is patient with man, and does not immediately deal with him according to his deeds. As written in Acts 17:30, God is ready to call the sins of the natural, unregenerate man, "acts committed in the times of ignorance" and is willing to overlook them, if the sinful person is willing to acknowledge his sins and to repent of them. And for Christians when they sin, God is ready to forgive and restore them if they confess their sins and repent according to 1 John 1:9.

So, for now the questions that still remain before us are: firstly, why is man so incapable of confronting Satan on his own; And secondly why, if man repents of his sins, is God willing to overlook the sins of natural, unregenerate man, calling them "acts committed in the times of ignorance?" For this, it is necessary to consider some other Biblical things, and then put the conclusions together to understand this. We will consider these ‘other Biblical things’ in the subsequent articles. For now it is essential that we, particularly the Christian Believers, take heed to the caution of 1 Corinthians 10:12 “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall”, remain vigilant about it, very carefully and diligently follow it. Because, as warned in Ecclesiastes 10:8, whenever, however, we step out even the slightest from ‘the hedge’, in our lives, i.e., the limits set by God regarding our attitudes and behavior, Satan will immediately bite us, and make us fall into sin. Then for the solution of the sin we have to confess that sin before the Lord God, and have to repent of it.

In the next article we will see the Biblical reasons why man, on his own, can never ever overcome Satan and his devices.
