बाइबल और भौतिक-विज्ञान - 1 - जल का चक्र
हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल और विज्ञान के सम्बन्ध को, बाइबल तथा जीव-विज्ञान विषय के अन्तर्गत पिछले कुछ लेखों से देखते चले आ रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि न तो विज्ञान बाइबल और परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध है, और न ही परमेश्वर या बाइबल, विज्ञान के विरुद्ध हैं। वास्तव में विज्ञान तो केवल परमेश्वर की सृष्टि और उसकी कार्यविधि का अध्ययन करने, उसे समझने का एक साधन मात्र है। विज्ञान केवल तथ्य बताता है, जानकारी देता है। क्योंकि विज्ञान सृष्टि की केवल जानकारी उपलब्ध करवाता है, इसलिये विज्ञान सृष्टि के सृष्टिकर्ता के विरुद्ध कुछ उजागर अथवा प्रस्तुत कर ही नहीं सकता है। विज्ञान पर एक मिथ्या आरोप है कि विज्ञान ने परमेश्वर के अस्तित्व को नकार दिया है। जिस प्रकार से किसी रची हुई वस्तु के बारे में सीख-समझ लेने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं हो जाता है कि उसका कोई रचनाकार नहीं था, उसी प्रकार से विज्ञान द्वारा सृष्टि के तथ्य प्रकट कर देने से यह प्रमाणित नहीं होता है कि कोई सृष्टिकर्ता नहीं है। बल्कि विज्ञान ने सृष्टि की अद्भुत बातों को प्रकट करने के द्वारा सृष्टिकर्ता की अद्भुत बुद्धि, सामर्थ्य, क्षमता, और कौशल के प्रमाण दिये हैं।
विज्ञान द्वारा उजागर और प्रस्तुत किये गये तथ्यों का विश्लेषण करना और उनके आधार पर निष्कर्ष और धारणाएँ बनाना, वैज्ञानिकों का कार्य है; और जैसे-जैसे नए तथ्य सामने आते चले जाते हैं, व्याख्या, धारणा, और निष्कर्ष भी बदलते चले जाते हैं - उन में सुधार हो सकता है, या वे पूर्णतः बदले भी जा सकते हैं। इसलिये विज्ञान पर आधारित कोई भी बात कभी भी स्थिर और अटल नहीं हो सकती है; सदा परिवर्तनीय ही रहती है। इस संदर्भ में विज्ञान को लेकर दो बातों का ध्यान रखना अति आवश्यक है। पहली तो यह कि वैज्ञानिक भी मनुष्य ही हैं। इसलिये, उन से अपनी व्याख्याओं और निष्कर्षों में गलतियाँ हो सकती हैं, व्याख्या करने से सम्बन्धित उनके अपने पूर्वाग्रह भी हो सकते हैं, और इसी लिये उनकी व्याख्या पक्षपाती भी हो सकती है; और यह भी एक जाना-माना तथ्य है कि कुछ वैज्ञानिकों ने अपनी ही धारणा को सही दिखाने के लिये स्वयं ही कुछ बातों को गढ़ा, और उन्हें “तथ्य” कहकर प्रस्तुत किया। इन सभी बातों को, और इन से सम्बन्धित प्रमाणों को हम पिछले लेखों में देख चुके हैं। और दूसरी बात यह कि एक बहुत आम प्रयोग किया जाने वाला कथन है “विज्ञान कहता है…; विज्ञान का दृष्टिकोण है…” आदि - किन्तु वास्तविकता यह है कि विज्ञान कभी कुछ नहीं कहता है; विज्ञान तो केवल तथ्य उजागर या प्रकट कर देता है। किन्तु उन तथ्यों के लेकर कुछ भी कहने का काम - कहा गया सही हो या गलत - हमेशा लोग - वैज्ञानिक ही करते हैं। विज्ञान को आधार बनाकर, या उसकी आड़ में, जो भी कहना होता है, उसे लोग या वैज्ञानिक ही कहते हैं; और जैसा हमने अभी देखा है, आवश्यक नहीं है कि उनकी कही हर बात हमेशा सही ही हो, या सच ही हो।
बाइबल और जीव-विज्ञान से सम्बन्धित कुछ बातों को देखने के बाद, आज से हम बाइबल और भौतिक विज्ञान तथा पृथ्वी के बारे कुछ बातों को देखेंगे। न केवल जीव-विज्ञान, वरन अन्य प्रकार के विज्ञान से सम्बन्धित बातें भी परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल की पुस्तकों में हजारों वर्ष पहले लिख दी गईं हैं। इनमें से कुछ को हम पहले के लेखों में सृष्टि की रचना, अंतरिक्ष, आदि शीर्षकों के अन्तर्गत देख चुके हैं। पृथ्वी और भौतिक विज्ञान से सम्बन्धित कुछ अन्य बातों को हम आज से देखेंगे।
एक बहुत ही सामान्य सी बात से आरंभ करते हैं - पेड़-पौधों, जीव-जन्तुओं, और जल के प्रति मनुष्य की ज़िम्मेदारी। आज हम जानते हैं कि किस प्रकार से पानी सागर, आकाश और पृथ्वी के मध्य एक निरंतर चलती रहने वाली क्रिया में घूमता रहता है, और सारी पृथ्वी की सिंचाई होती रहती है, तथा सभी के पीने के लिए पानी उपलब्ध बना रहता है। किन्तु मनुष्य ने अपने स्वार्थ के लिए और “ज्ञान” के नाम पर परमेश्वर द्वारा बनाए गए और सुचारु रीति से चलते रहने वाले इस पूरे चक्र बिगाड़ दिया है जिससे आज स्थान-स्थान पर या तो सूखा पड़ रहा है, अथवा अप्रत्याशित और अनपेक्षित बाढ़ आ रही हैं, जिससे सभी के लिए बहुत खतरा उत्पन्न हो गया है। यह बात कि प्रकृति के विधान मनुष्यों के द्वारा इस प्रकार से बिगाड़ दिए जाएंगे भी परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में पहले से ही लिखवा रखा है - इसके बारे में हम अगले लेख में देखेंगे।
पहले आज केवल पानी के चक्र ही के बारे में देखते हैं। आज यह सामान्य ज्ञान में स्कूलों में सिखाया जाता है कि सागर का पानी, सूर्य की गर्मी से भाप बनकर उठता है, हवा के साथ बहकर ठन्डे इलाकों, मैदानों, पहाड़ों आदि की ओर जाता है, ओस और वर्षा के रूप में उन सभी स्थानों पर पड़ता है। यहाँ से उसका कुछ भाग धरती में सोख लिया जाता है वह पृथ्वी के भीतरी भागों में स्थित जलाशयों में भी जाता है और सतह पर बहने वाली नदियों में भी जाता है, तथा फिर नदी के साथ बहकर सागर में जा मिलता है। आज जो खोज-बीन तथा उपकरणों आदि के माध्यम से उपलब्ध जानकारी हमें साधारण, सामान्य ज्ञान की बात लगती है, उसे आज से हजारों वर्ष पहले रहने वाले मनुष्यों के लिए जान पाना कितनी जटिल और असंभव सी बात रही होगी, इसकी कल्पना कीजिए। उस समय बहुत कम आबादी थी, शिक्षा बहुत सीमित थी, तथा मुख्यतः स्थानीय बातों से संबंधित होती थी; आज के समान यातायात के साधन नहीं थे, लंबी दूरी की यात्राएँ करना, अपनी जान जोखिम में डालने की बात होती थी; जानकारी एकत्रित करके उसका परस्पर ताल-मेल बैठाने और विश्लेषण करने की ऐसी क्षमता नहीं थी जैसी आज है। निःसन्देह, यद्यपि कुछ लोग पहाड़ों, मैदानों, समुद्रों की यात्राएँ किया करते थे, और अपनी यात्राओं के किससे भी बताते थे; परन्तु सामान्यतः जो पर्वतों पर या उनके आस-पास रहते थे उनमें से अधिकांश सम्भवतः यह नहीं जानते होंगे कि सागर भी होते हैं। इसी प्रकार जो सागर तट के आस-पास रहते थे उन्हें पहाड़ों और पर्वतों की जानकारी होने की कम ही संभावना होगी, और जो विशाल मैदानी क्षेत्रों में रहते थे, उनके लिए पर्वत और सागर, दोनों के बारे पता भी होगा कि नहीं, यह कल्पना की बात है। ऐसे में पानी कहाँ से आया, कहाँ को गया, और कैसे, यह सब यदि उस समय के जीवन के आधार पर देखें, तो इसका विश्लेषण करना और उसकी सटीक जानकारी लिख दिया जाना, और वह भी ऐसे व्यक्ति के द्वारा जो न विज्ञान और न वैज्ञानिक जानकारी रखने वाला व्यक्ति हो, लगभग असंभव बात है।
अब बाइबल के कुछ पदों को देखिए:
अय्यूब 36:27-28 क्योंकि वह तो जल की बूंदें ऊपर को खींच लेता है वे कुहरे से मेंह हो कर टपकती हैं, वे ऊंचे ऊंचे बादल उंडेलते हैं और मनुष्यों के ऊपर बहुतायत से बरसाते हैं।
आमोस 9:6 जो आकाश में अपनी कोठरियां बनाता, और अपने आकाशमण्डल की नेव पृथ्वी पर डालता, और समुद्र का जल धरती पर बहा देता है, उसी का नाम यहोवा है।
यिर्मयाह 10:13 जब वह बोलता है तब आकाश में जल का बड़ा शब्द होता है, और पृथ्वी की छोर से वह कुहरे को उठाता है। वह वर्षा के लिये बिजली चमकाता, और अपने भण्डार में से पवन चलाता है।
सभोपदेशक 1:7 सब नदियां समुद्र में जा मिलती हैं, तौभी समुद्र भर नहीं जाता; जिस स्थान से नदियां निकलती हैं; उधर ही को वे फिर जाती हैं।
साथ ही इन लेखकों से सम्बन्धित इन तथ्यों पर भी विचार कीजिए: कि अय्यूब आज से लगभग 4000 वर्ष पहले का एक समृद्ध जमींदार था; आमोस आज से लगभग 2750 पहले का एक चरवाहा था; यिर्मयाह आज से लगभग 2600 वर्ष पूर्व परमेश्वर का भविष्यद्वक्ता था; और सभोपदेशक के लेखक राजा सुलैमान ने यह पुस्तक लगभग 3000 वर्ष पहले लिखी थी। उस समय के इन लिखने वाले लोगों के जीवन, ज्ञान, और वैज्ञानिक समझ तथा विश्लेषण करने की क्षमता के बारे में विचार कर के, बाइबल के उपरोक्त पदों पर विचार कीजिए - क्या यह सामान्य, साधारण मानवीय बुद्धि में आने वाली, और उससे उत्पन्न होने वाली बात हो सकती है?
जिस परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में साधारण लोगों द्वारा वैज्ञानिक तथ्य हजारों वर्ष पहले लिखवा दिये थे, उसी ने संसार के अवश्यंभावी अन्त और सभी लोगों के अपने जीवनों का हिसाब देने और न्याय का सामना करने के बारे में भी लिखवा दिया था (प्रेरितों 17:30-31; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। अब यह आपके लिए विचार करने और निर्णय लेने का समय है - क्या आप परमेश्वर के उस अवश्यंभावी न्याय का सामना करने, उसके सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन के हर एक पल का हिसाब देने, अपने मन, ध्यान, विचार, और व्यवहार की हर बात, हर सोच, हर कल्पना का हिसाब देने को तैयार हैं?
परमेश्वर आपको अवसर दे रहा है; यदि आज तक भी आपने उसकी आपको दी जाने वाली पापों की क्षमा के इस अवसर को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अभी फिर आपके पास मौका है। आप अभी स्वेच्छा से, सच्चे मन से, अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी मन के साथ यह छोटी सी प्रार्थना कर सकते हैं, “हे प्रभु यीशु मैं स्वीकार करता हूँ कि मैंने मन, ध्यान, विचार, और व्यवहार में आपकी अनाज्ञाकारिता की है, पाप किया है। मैं यह भी मान लेता हूँ कि आपने क्रूस पर दिए अपने बलिदान के द्वारा मेरे पापों की सजा को अपने ऊपर उठाया लिया, और उसे पूर्णतः चुका दिया है। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और अपना आज्ञाकारी शिष्य बना लें, और अपने साथ बनाकर रखें।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी यह छोटी सी प्रार्थना आपके मन और जीवन को बदल देगी, आपको परमेश्वर की संतान बनाकर, पापों के दण्ड से मुक्ति तथा अब से लेकर अनन्तकाल तक के लिए स्वर्गीय आशीषों का वारिस बना देगी। निर्णय आपका है।

Bible and Physical Sciences - 1 - The Water Cycle
We have been examining the relationship between the Bible, the Word of God, and science, under the subject of the Bible and biology, through the past few articles. We have seen that neither is science opposed to the Bible and God, nor are God or the Bible opposed to science. In reality, science is merely a means to study and understand God’s creation and the manner in which it functions. Science only presents facts and provides information. Since science only brings to light and provides information about creation, therefore, there is no way it can possibly reveal or present anything against the Creator of creation. There is a false accusation against science, that science has disproven the existence of God. Just as learning and understanding something about a created object does not prove that it had no creator, in the same way, the revelation of facts about creation by science does not prove that there is no Creator. Rather, by revealing the wondrous aspects of creation, science has provided evidence of the Creator’s marvelous wisdom, power, capability, and skill.
Analyzing the facts revealed and presented by science, and forming conclusions and theories based on them, is the work of scientists; and as new facts continue to come to light, the interpretations, theories, and conclusions also continue to change—the existing ones may be improved, or they may be completely discarded and replaced by new ones. Therefore, anything based on science can never be infallible and immutable; it always remains changeable. In this context, it is extremely important to always keep two things in mind regarding science. First is that scientists too are human beings. Therefore, they can make mistakes in their interpretations and conclusions; they may also have their own biases related to interpretation, and thus their interpretations can be prejudiced; and it is also a well-known fact that some scientists have themselves fabricated certain things in order to prove their own theories correct and have presented them as “facts.” We have already seen all these things, and the evidence related to them, in previous articles. The second point is that a very commonly used statement is, “science says…; the viewpoint of science is…” etc.—but the reality is that science itself never says anything; science only reveals or presents facts. However, the task of saying anything on the basis of those facts—whether what is said is right or wrong—is always done by people - the scientists. Whatever is to be said on the basis of science, or under its cover, is said by the people, the scientists themselves; and as we have just seen, it is not necessary that whatever they say will always be correct, or be the truth.
After considered some matters related to the Bible and Bio-Sciences, from today we will examine some matters related to the Bible and Physical Sciences, and the earth. Not only Bio-Sciences, but matters related to other branches of science were also written in the books of God’s Word, the Bible, thousands of years ago. Some of these we have already seen in the earlier articles under headings such as the creation of the universe, outer space, etc. From today, we will look at some other matters related to the earth and Physical Science.
Let us begin with a very simple and common matter—the responsibility of human beings toward plants, animals, and water. Today we know how water continues to circulate in an ongoing cycle between the oceans, the sky, and the earth, and how the whole earth continues to be irrigated, and water remains available for everyone to drink. But for the sake of his own selfish interests and in the name of “knowledge,” human beings have disrupted this entire cycle created by God that had been functioning smoothly. Consequently, today, in various places, either there are droughts, or unexpected and unforeseen floods are happening, putting everyone in great danger. The fact that the laws of nature would be disrupted by human beings in this manner has also already been written by God in His Word—we will see about this in the next article. For now, today, we will look only at the water cycle itself.
First let's look at the water cycle - today it is taught in schools in “general knowledge” that ocean water, vaporizes by the heat of the sun, is carried by the wind towards cold areas, of the land plains, mountains etc., and it falls in the form of dew and rain over all those places. From here some part of it is absorbed into the earth, and goes into the water bodies located below the surface of the earth and some flows into the rivers flowing on the earth’s surface, and then flows back into the ocean. Today, because of the investigative equipment and tools etc. this information available through research done by various people at various places, seems to us to be a matter of simple, common sense. But imagine how complex and impossible it must have been for humans living thousands of years ago to know all this and put it together as parts one cycle. At that time the population was quite sparse, learning and education was not only very limited, but was mainly concerned with local matters; there were no means of transport or communication and exchange of information as we have today; and traveling long distances was a risk to life. There were no such facilities to collect, collate together and analyze information as are available today. Undoubtedly, surely there were some people who travelled over mountains, land, and sea and shared about their travels with others. But generally speaking, most of those who lived on or near mountains quite likely, would not know that there are oceans. Similarly, those who lived near the sea coast quite likely would not be aware of hills and mountains, and those who lived in the vast plains might not be aware of either the mountains or the oceans. In such a situation, looking at all this on the basis of the life and circumstances of that time thousands of years ago, for anyone to know and accurately document information about from where the water came, and to where did it go - the water cycle, and that too by persons who were neither scientists, nor knew any science, is almost impossible.
With this background, now consider some verses from the Bible:
Job 36:27-28 “For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man.”
Amos 9:6 “He who builds His layers in the sky, And has founded His strata in the earth; Who calls for the waters of the sea, And pours them out on the face of the earth-- The Lord is His name.”
Jeremiah 10:13 “When He utters His voice, There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: "And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries."”
Ecclesiastes 1:7 “All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again.”
Now, also consider the facts about these writers: that Job was a wealthy and prosperous landlord who lived about 4000 years ago; Amos was a shepherd from about 2750 ago; Jeremiah was God's prophet about 2600 years ago; And King Solomon, the author of Ecclesiastes, wrote this book about 3000 years ago. Considering their life, their knowledge, their scientific understanding, and their ability to interpret and analyze data scientificआली, by these writers of those times, think again about the above verses of the Bible — is it at all possible that these simple, mostly unlearned, unscientific people could have known and written down this information by themselves?
The God who had got scientific facts written down by common people, thousands of years ago, had also got written down about the inevitable end of the world and every person having to give an account of their life and face judgment (Acts 17:30-31; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Now it's time for you to reflect and decide - are you ready and prepared to face that inevitable judgment of God? To stand before Him and give an account of every single moment of your life, of everything in your mind, attitude, thought, and behavior?
God is giving you the opportunity; If till today you have not accepted this opportunity of forgiveness of your sins, that has been given to you, then you still have this opportunity available to you. You can utilize it just now by voluntarily, sincerely, with a repentant heart for your sins, saying this short prayer, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You and sinned in mind, attitude, thought, and behavior. I also believe that you have taken upon yourself the punishment for my sins by your sacrifice on the Cross, and have paid for them in full. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, make me your obedient disciple, and keep me with you." This small prayer of yours, said with a sincere and committed heart will transform your mind and life, make you a child of God, free you from the punishment of your sins, and make you an heir of heavenly blessings from now to eternity. The decision is yours.
