        पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि परमेश्वर ने मिस्र से कूच करने के लिए तैयार इस्राएलियों को फसह का भोजन खाते समय आश्वस्त किया था कि वह उनकी रक्षा के लिए उतार आया है, उनके साथ है, मिस्रियों तथा उनके देवताओं से उनके दासत्व एवँ दुर्व्यवहार का पलटा ले रहा है। वह उन्हें असहाय नहीं छोड़ेगा, और उनसे बाहर चाहे जो भी हो रहा हो, लेकिन उनका बाल भी बाँका नहीं होगा, परमेश्वर उनकी कोई हानि नहीं होने देगा। उन्हें केवल दिए गए निर्देशों के अनुसार, अपने आप को तैयार रखना है कि कूच करने की आज्ञा मिलते ही, निकल जाने के लिए तैयार रहें। इसी प्रकार से आज जो प्रभु भोज में भाग लेते हैं, उन्हें भी उनके साथ परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति के बने रहने, उनके लिए परमेश्वर की सुरक्षा के लिए आश्वस्त रहना है; और अपने आप को सदा तैयार रखना है कि जैसे ही परमेश्वर की ओर से पुकार आए, वे अपने स्वर्गीय देश के लिए कूच करने को तत्पर और तैयार पाए जाएँ।

        किन्तु सामान्यतः यह देखा जाता है कि प्रभु भोज में अपनी रीति के अनुसार, या परंपरा को पूरा करने के लिए भाग लेने के बाद, लोग उन्हीं अनिश्चितताओं, चिंताओं, उन्हीं तनावों के साथ वापस लौटते हैं, जिन्हें लेकर वे आए थे। उन्हें कभी भी यह एहसास नहीं होता है कि वे परमेश्वर के साथ संगति करके, उसकी सन्तान के समान उसकी मेज़ में से भाग लेकर आए हैं; परमेश्वर उनके कार्यों और व्यवहार का सर्वेसर्वा और नियंत्रक है, उनके लिए कार्य कर रहा है, और चाहे उनके चारों ओर कुछ भी हो रहा हो, चाहे वह उन्हें समझ न भी आ रहा हो, किन्तु आखिरकार जयवंत और आशीषित वे ही होंगे। परमेश्वर की देखभाल और सुरक्षा सदा उनके साथ बनी हुई है। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि अपने दिन-प्रतिदिन के जीवनों में वे परमेश्वर की संगति में नहीं रहें हैं; वे अपना जीवन, जैसा उन्हें उचित लगता है जीते हैं, या उनके धर्म के अगुवे जो निर्देश देते हैं वैसा करते हैं। इसलिए। जब वे अपने तथा-कथित प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेने के लिए आते हैं, तो उन्हें परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में होने, उसकी देखभाल और सुरक्षा उनके साथ होने, का कोई एहसास नहीं होता है। यह एक बार फिर से इस बात की पुष्टि करता है कि प्रभु-भोज में भाग लेना लोगों को परमेश्वर के जन नहीं बनाता है; वरन् जो परमेश्वर की सन्तान हैं, उन्हें प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेने का विशेषाधिकार और आशीष है, कि वे प्रभु की उपस्थिति और आशीर्वाद का आनन्द लें, और इस सन्तुष्टि के साथ जाएँ कि उनका परमेश्वर पिता उनके साथ है, उनकी देखभाल का रहा है, उनकी सुरक्षा है।

        जब तक कि व्यक्ति वास्तव में नया जन्म पाया हुआ परमेश्वर की सन्तान न हो, और वह परमेश्वर के निर्देशों के अनुसार अपने आप को तैयार करके न रखता हो, और प्रभु भोज में परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित विधि के अनुसार, परमेश्वर को आदर देने, उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में रहने के लिए भाग न लेता हो; तब तक परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति का एहसास, उसकी सुरक्षा, और आश्वासनों का अनुभव, मनुष्यों की सुनने वालों, मनुष्यों और मानवीय संस्थाओं को आदर देने वालों के द्वारा नहीं किया जा सकता है। केवल परमेश्वर की सन्तान ही अपने स्वर्गीय पिता की हर समय उनके साथ बनी रहने वाली उपस्थिति को पहचान और अनुभव कर सकते हैं, और भरोसा बनाए रख सकते हैं कि परमेश्वर हर बात में उनके पक्ष में, उनके भले के लिए कार्य कर रहा है।

        ये सभी बातें स्पष्ट दिखाती हैं कि प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना उनके लिए नहीं है जो इसे एक धार्मिक रीति या औपचारिकता के समान लेते हैं, किन्तु उनके लिए है जिन्होंने स्वेच्छा से प्रभु के योग्य जीवन बिताने उसकी आज्ञाकारिता में चलने का निर्णय लिया है, और इसके लिए कीमत चुकाने के लिए भी तैयार है। अगले लेख में हम निर्गमन 12 में से यहीं से आगे देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, और प्रभु की मेज़ में भाग लेते रहे हैं, तो कृपया अपने जीवन को जाँच कर देख लें कि आप वास्तव में पापों से छुड़ाए गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप ने अपना जीवन प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीने के लिए उस को समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु में एक नई सृष्टि बन गए हैं कि नहीं? क्या आप कलीसिया में विभाजनों और गुटों में बांटने में नहीं किन्तु एकता के साथ रहने में प्रयासरत रहते हैं कि नहीं? तथा क्या आप प्रभु की मेज़ में उसी प्रकार से भाग ले रहे हैं जैसे परमेश्वर ने निर्देश दिये हैं, प्रभु के प्रति पूर्ण समर्पण और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ, बड़ी गंभीरता से मेज़ के महत्व पर मनन करते हुए; या फिर आप किसी डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा अथवा किसी के  मनमाने विचारों के अनुसार भाग ले रहे हैं? अपने आप को जांच कर देखें कि क्या आप प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपने जीवन का हिसाब देने के लिए तैयार हैं कि नहीं? आपके लिए यह अनिवार्य है कि आप परमेश्वर के वचन की सही शिक्षाओं को जानने के द्वारा एक परिपक्व विश्वासी बनें, तथा निरंतर परिपक्वता में बढ़ते जाएं। साथ ही सभी शिक्षाओं को वचन की कसौटी पर परखने, और बेरिया के विश्वासियों के समान, लोगों की बातों को पहले वचन से जाँचने और उनकी सत्यता को निश्चित करने के बाद ही उनको स्वीकार करने और मानने वाले बनें (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21)। अन्यथा शैतान द्वारा छोड़े हुए झूठे प्रेरित और भविष्यद्वक्ता मसीह के सेवक बन कर (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:13-15) अपनी ठग विद्या और चतुराई से आपको प्रभु के लिए अप्रभावी कर देंगे और आप के मसीही जीवन एवं आशीषों का नाश कर देंगे।

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:11-12 (6) - The Lord’s Table - An Assurance of God’ Presence and Safety (2)

        In the previous article we had seen that to the Israelites, ready for their departure from Egypt, and eating the Passover meal, God had assured that He had come down to protect them, He is with them, and is avenging them for their bondage and mistreatment by the Egyptians and their gods. He was not going to let them be helpless, and whatever might be happening outside of the Israelites, but they will never suffer any loss of any kind. All that they had to do was to keep themselves ready according to the instructions given to them, and move as soon as the instruction to depart was given. Similarly, those who participate in the Lord's Table today must always be ready to depart for their heavenly dwelling place at a moment's notice, as soon as the call comes from the Lord. They should always remain assured that God's presence is always there with them and His protection for them is guaranteed.

        But it is commonly seen that after they have fulfilled the ritualistic observance of participating in the Lord's Table, people go back with the same uncertainties, same worries, same tensions, that they had come in with. They never get the sense that they have been in company of God, have been at God’s Table as His children, and that God is in-charge of their affairs, is working things out for them, and though they may not necessarily understand the things happening around them, ultimately, they will come out victorious and blessed. God's care and security are with them always. This is because in their day-to-day lives they actually have not been with God, under His care and protection; they have been living life as they thought fit, or as instructed by their religious leaders. Therefore, when they come to the so-called Lord's Table, the sense of having been in the presence of God, and of His care and protection being with them, does not come to them. This once again affirms that it is not the participation in the Lord's Table that makes them the people of God; rather because of being the children of God, they have the right and privilege to the Lord's Table, enjoying the presence and blessings of the Lord, and going out content that their Father God is with them, caring for them and protecting them.

        Unless one truly is a Born-Again child of God, has kept himself ready and prepared as instructed by God, and is partaking in the Communion as God has ordained it to be done, to honor and obey God, instead of obeying men and honoring man-made institutions, these feelings of God’s presence, safety, and assurances are hard to come by. Only God’s children can feel and know the presence of their heavenly Father with them at all times, and remain confident of His working on their behalf all the time, in everything.

        All these things show that participating in the Holy Communion is not for those who take it as a religious ritual or formality to be carried out perfunctorily, but is for those who willingly have chosen to live worthy of the Lord, in obedience to His Word, and are willing to pay the price for doing so. In the next article we will carry on from here and see more from these verses from Exodus 12. If you are a Christian Believer, and have been participating in the Lord’s Table, then please examine your life and make sure that you are actually redeemed from your sins, have submitted and surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live in obedience to Him and His Word, are a new creation for the Lord. That you strive for unity, not divisions and factionalism in the Church, and have been participating as the Lord has instructed to be done, participating with full allegiance to the Lord, in all seriousness, and pondering over its significance; instead of doing it in any presumptive manner, or simply as a denominational ritual; and are ready and prepared to stand before the Lord and answer for your life. It is also necessary for you to be spiritually mature, learn the right teachings of God’s Word. You should also always, like the Berean Believers first check and test all teachings you receive from the Word of God, and only after ascertaining the truth and veracity of the teachings brought to you by men, should you accept and obey them (Acts 17:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). If you do not do this, the false apostles and prophets sent by Satan as ministers of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:13-15), will by their trickery, cunningness, and craftiness render you ineffective for the Lord and cause severe damage to your Christian life and your rewards.

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

        पद 12 में हम देखते हैं कि स्वयं परमेश्वर ही अपने लोगों का पलटा लेने के लिए उतर कर आया था, और मिस्र में दोनों, मनुष्यों और पशुओं के पहिलौठों को घात कर रहा था। प्रभु परमेश्वर एक बार फिर उसे ही दोहराता है जो उसने पद 11 में कहा है - अपने प्रभुत्व की पुष्टि करता है, और उन्हें आश्वस्त करता है कि वह “मिस्र के सारे देवताओं” को भी उसके लोगों का कुछ बिगाड़ने नहीं देगा, वरन उसी रात उनको भी दण्ड देगा, और इस प्रकार से जो कुछ भी हो रहा है, या होने जा रहा है उस अभी पर परमेश्वर ने अपनी सार्वभौमिकता की पुष्टि की। यदि हम अपने आप को उन इस्राएलियों के स्थान पर रखें, तो समझ सकते हैं कि जो कुछ उन से कहा जा रहा था उसे लेकर वो लोग उस समय कितने घबराए हुए, चिंतित, और अनिश्चित रहे होंगे; ये सारा घटना क्रम उनके लिए कितना अभिभूत करने वाला, कितना बुरी आशंकाओं से भरा हुआ रहा होगा। किन्तु परमेश्वर अपने लोगों को आश्वस्त कर रहा है कि वे चिंतित न हों, घबराएं नहीं, बस केवल उस पर भरोसा बनाए रखें, क्योंकि हर बात उसी के हाथों में है, और वह उनके मिस्र से सुरक्षित निकलने और नए स्थान पर जाने की तैयारी कर रहा है। प्रभु भोज में भाग लेना भी इसी प्रकार से आश्वस्त करने वाला अनुभव होना चाहिए, कि परिस्थिति चाहे कैसी भी हो, चाहे रात और अंधकार हो, बाहर चाहे कैसी भी शैतानी शक्तियां घात लगाए हुए हों; तब भी सब कुछ परमेश्वर के नियंत्रण और अधीनता में हैं, और परमेश्वर किसी भी शैतानी शक्ति को भाग लेने वाले उसकी सन्तानों की कोई हानि नहीं करने देगा। उसने सब बातों के होने का एक समय और तरीका निर्धारित किया है, और अंततः उन सभी में होकर वह अपने लोगों को आशीष देगा, उनका भला करेगा।

        इन दो पदों में लिखी बातों के आधार पर सभी भाग लेने वालों को प्रभु भोज में अपने भाग लेने के बारे में मनन करना और निश्चित होना चाहिए। वो लोग जो रस्म के समान, बिना किसी दृढ़ विश्वास के, बिना प्रभु की मेज़ के महत्व और मतलब की किसी समझ के, एक औपचारिकता के समान प्रभु की मेज़ में हिस्सा लेते हैं, क्या उनमें यह शान्ति का अनुभव और आश्वासन होता है कि जो वो कर रहे हैं वह वास्तव में प्रभु द्वारा निर्धारित और स्थापित प्रभु भोज ही है, किसी डिनॉमिनेशन के द्वारा निर्धारित, मनुष्यों के द्वारा बनाई गई परंपरा का पालन नहीं है? प्रभु भोज में भाग लेते समय क्या उन्हें यह आश्वासन रहता है कि उनके विरोध में चाहे शैतान की शक्तियां जो भी षड्यन्त्र बना रही हों, सारा नियंत्रण प्रभु ही के हाथों में है, और वह उन्हें हर परिस्थिति में हर समय कुशल और सुरक्षित रखेगा (रोमियों 8:32)? क्या उनके मनों में यह दृढ़ निश्चय रहता है कि परमेश्वर उन्हें उनकी सामर्थ्य से बाहर किसी भी परीक्षा में कभी भी नहीं पड़ने देगा, और साथ ही उसमें से निकलने के लिए मार्ग भी देगा (1 कुरिन्थियों 10:13)? क्या वे वास्तव में इस बात को जानते और मानते हैं कि उन्हें किसी भी परिस्थिति से होकर क्यों न निकलने पड़े, वह चाहे समझ के बाहर, अप्रत्याशित, अभूतपूर्व, और पीड़ादायक ही क्यों न हो, अन्ततः परमेश्वर उन्हें शैतानी शक्तियों के हाथों से छुड़ाकर बाहर निकाल लेगा, और सभी बातों के द्वारा उनका भला ही करेगा, उन्हें आशीष ही देगा (रोमियों 8:28)?

        अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय के बारे में थोड़ा सा और देखेंगे, तथा जो वास्तव में प्रभु के लोग हैं, उनके द्वारा भाग लेने था एक औपचारिकता, अपने मत या डिनॉमिनेशन की परंपरा का निर्वाह करने वालों के द्वारा भाग लेने के मध्य के अन्तर को समझेंगे।  

        यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Exodus 12:11-12 (6) - The Lord’s Table - An Assurance of God’ Presence and His Safety (1)

         As we have seen earlier, the Israelites had been told by God through Moses to be prepared to leave Egypt, their place of bondage, at a moment’s notice, and make preparations to leave hastily, when the call came. Verse 11 is an affirmation of this instruction, specifically mentioning that they should eat the Passover in haste. Therefore, they had to eat the Passover with their belts tied, sandals on their feet, and staff in their hand; and as we had seen in the last article, also ready to burn the remaining portion of the sacrificial lamb. The Lord also reminds them that though they had heard the instructions through Moses, it was actually God who had given it; it was God Himself who was asking them to do this.

        In verse 12 we see that it is God Himself who had come down to avenge His people, and strike the first-borns of Egypt, both man and beast. Then the Lord God once again reiterates what He said in verse 11 - He affirms His Lordship, and assures them that He will not let the “gods of Egypt” do anything to His people, instead the Lord God would judge them that night, affirming His sovereignty over everything happening and about to happen. If we place ourselves in the place of those Israelites, we can understand how troubled, apprehensive, uncertain they would have been about what was being said and what was about to happen; how unnerving and foreboding the whole scenario would have been for them. But God is reassuring His people, not to worry, not to be troubled, but simply trust Him, since everything is in His hands, and He is working things out for their safe deliverance and relocation out of Egypt. Participating in the Holy Communion should similarly be a reassuring experience that no matter what be the situation, whether night and darkness, and whatever powers of darkness be prowling outside; God is still out there in control of everything, and will not allow the satanic forces to harm them in any way. He has ordained things to happen at certain times and in a certain manner, and eventually through them all, He will bless and benefit His people.

        It is for all participants to reflect and ascertain their participating in the Holy Communion, in light of these two verses. Do those who ritually, without any conviction, without any understanding of the meaning and importance of the Holy Communion, perfunctorily, participate in the Lord’s Table, have this sense or peace and assurance in them that what they are doing is actually the Lord ordained and established Communion, not a denominational or man-made tradition to be fulfilled? By participating in the Communion do they get the assurance that no matter what the forces of evil are setting up for them, it is the Lord who is in control and will keep them safe and secure at all times (Romans 8:32)? Do they have the conviction in their heart that God will never let them be tested beyond their ability to bear, and will also provide the way out (1 Corinthians 10:13)? Do they know and truly believe that through everything that happens to them, even if it is incomprehensible, unforeseen and unexpected, and seemingly painful, eventually God will deliver them from the satanic forces and only bless and benefit them (Romans 8:28)?

        If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

मसीही सेवकाई के लिए मसीही विश्वासी के व्यक्तिगत जीवन में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की भूमिका को हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है, कि वह कैसे प्रभु के शिष्य को उसकी सेवकाई के लिए सिखाता है, तैयार करता है, प्रभु की बातें स्मरण करवाता है, और उसे सुरक्षा प्रदान करता है। शिष्य तब ही संसार का और ‘संसार के सरदार’, अर्थात शैतान, उसकी युक्तियों, उसके दूतों का सामना कर सकता है, मसीही सेवकाई में प्रभावी हो सकता है, जब वह स्वयं इस कार्य के लिए तैयार हो गया हो - और उसकी यह तैयारी उसे केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ही करवा कर देता है। उस शिष्य की अपनी कोई योग्यता, कोई गुण, कोई शिक्षा, कोई प्रशिक्षण, कोई अनुभव, आदि तब तक किसी उपयोगिता का नहीं है, जब तक परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा उसके जीवन में कार्य करके उसे अपनी रीति से सक्षम न कर दे; तब ही उस शिष्य के अन्य कोई भी गुण, योग्यता, शिक्षा, प्रशिक्षण, और अनुभव आदि प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी और प्रभावी किए जा सकते हैं - जैसा हम पौलुस के जीवन से देखते हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन की बातों में सर्वोत्तम गुरु, गमलिएल, से वचन की सर्वोच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त करने, और फरीसी होने के लिए प्रशिक्षित किए जाने के बाद भी, वह प्रभु परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगी नहीं था, वरन प्रभु के कार्य का विरोधी और नाशक था। किन्तु प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने के बाद ही उसका वह सब प्रशिक्षण, अध्ययन, अनुभव, आदि पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा प्रभु के लिए उपयोगी बनाया जा सका। प्रभु यीशु की वास्तविकता को समझने के बाद वह अपने पहले के सभी ज्ञान, समझ, प्रशिक्षण, अनुभव, कार्य आदि को ‘कूड़ा’ कहता है, और उसकी लालसा वचन के मानवीय ज्ञान में नहीं, वरन प्रभु यीशु मसीह की मृत्युंजय की सामर्थ्य को जानने और उसमें बढ़ने की हो जाती है (फिलिप्पियों 3:4-11)। इसी प्रकार से मूसा को भी मिस्र से मिला वहाँ का सर्वोत्तम मानवीय ज्ञान-बुद्धि-सामर्थ्य और योग्यता इस्राएलियों का कुछ भला करने के लिए उसके किसी काम नहीं आए। उसे वह सब छोड़ कर भागना पड़ा। जब वह जंगल में मूक और मूर्ख भेड़ों की देखभाल करते रहने से परमेश्वर के द्वारा प्रशिक्षित कर लिया गया, तब ही परमेश्वर ने उसे अपने लोगों की चरवाही करने के लिए सक्षम करके वापस मिस्र में भेजा, और उसमें होकर अभूतपूर्व कार्य किए, संसार के लोगों के लिए अपने वचन तथा व्यवस्था को दिया।

व्यक्तिगत रीति से तैयार करने के बाद, अब यूहन्ना 16 अध्याय में सार्वजनिक मसीही सेवकाई से संबंधित बातें प्रभु यीशु ने अपने शिष्यों के सामने रखीं। इन बातों का आरंभ यूहन्ना 16:7 “तौभी मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि मेरा जाना तुम्हारे लिये अच्छा है, क्योंकि यदि मैं न जाऊं, तो वह सहायक तुम्हारे पास न आएगा, परन्तु यदि मैं जाऊंगा, तो उसे तुम्हारे पास भेज दूंगा” से होता है, जहाँ फिर यूहन्ना 13 अध्याय से आरंभ हुए इस वार्तालाप में चौथी बार प्रभु शिष्यों से कहता है कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा उनके पास और उनमें रहने के लिए प्रभु के भेजे जाने के द्वारा ही आएगा; अर्थात प्रभु के शिष्यों के लिए प्रभु परमेश्वर के अतिरिक्त परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा को उपलब्ध करवाने का और कोई तरीका नहीं है। पवित्र आत्मा परमेश्वर है, और सार्वभौमिक, सर्वसामर्थी, सर्वज्ञानी, सृजनहार है; वह मनुष्य के वश या अधीनता में नहीं है कि मनुष्य के कहे के अनुसार कार्य और व्यवहार करे। प्रभु ने अपने महान अनुग्रह और प्रेम में होकर अपने शिष्यों की सहायता के लिए उसे अवश्य प्रदान किया है, किन्तु उसे शिष्यों का सेवक या दास नहीं बना दिया है कि वे अपनी ही इच्छा और समझ के अनुसार उससे, और उसके नाम में लोगों से कुछ भी उलटा-सीधा कार्य तथा व्यवहार करें। जिस दिन प्रभु हिसाब लेगा, और इस हिसाब के लेने का आरंभ प्रभु के लोगों से ही होगा (1 पतरस 4:17), उस दिन पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से किया जाने वाला यह सब बाइबल के वचनों से बाहर का व्यर्थ का और अनुचित व्यवहार, ऐसा करने और सिखाने वालों के लिए बहुत भारी पड़ेगा (मत्ती 12:36-37), किन्तु तब उनके पास बचने का कोई मार्ग नहीं होगा। उन्हें अपने द्वारा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के प्रति किए गए अपमानजनक व्यवहार और व्यर्थ बातों के लिए दण्ड भोगना ही होगा।

यदि आप मसीही विश्वासी हैं, आपने अपने पापों से वास्तविक पश्चाताप करके प्रभु यीशु से उनके लिए सच्चे मन से क्षमा माँगी है, अपना जीवन प्रभु को समर्पित किया है, प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता में जीवन जीने का निर्णय किया है, तो यह ध्यान रखिए कि आप अपने इस निर्णय के उचित और सही निर्वाह के लिए प्रभु के प्रति व्यक्तिगत रीति से उत्तरदायी हैं। और मसीही विश्वासी होने के नाते आप से भी स्वर्ग में आपके अनन्तकालीन प्रतिफल निर्धारित करने के लिए आपके व्यवहार, कार्य और बातों का सारा हिसाब अवश्य ही लिया जाएगा (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:13-15; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:12)। उस समय आप अपने अनुचित, वचन की शिक्षाओं से अलग, वचन के उदाहरणों और बातों से भिन्न व्यवहार के लिए किसी अन्य मनुष्य, या मानवीय मत-समुदायों-डिनॉमिनेशंस के नियमों और रीतियों आदि पर बात नहीं टाल सकेंगे। परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल आपके हाथ में होते हुए भी, और उसे सिखाने के लिए परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा आपके साथ होते हुए भी, तथा परमेश्वर द्वारा अन्य विभिन्न साधन उपलब्ध करवाए जाने के बावजूद, क्यों आपने केवल उनके आकर्षक और लाभकारी प्रतीत होने के कारण, मनुष्यों की शिक्षाओं, व्यवहारों, बातों को वचन की शिक्षाओं और उदाहरणों से बढ़कर महत्व दिया - इसका उत्तर आप ही को देना होगा। प्रभु ने आपके लिए सब कुछ करके दिया है, उसके द्वारा दिए गए इन अद्भुत प्रयोजनों का सदुपयोग करना तो आपके हाथों में है। उसने आपके लिए उत्तम भोज सजा कर दिया है, सेंत-मेंत उपलब्ध करवा दिया है; फिर भी यदि आप व्यर्थ और हानिकारक भोजन खाकर हानि उठाएं, तो प्रभु को तो उसके लिए दोषी नहीं ठहरा सकते हैं।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो थोड़ा थम कर विचार कीजिए, क्या मसीही विश्वास के अतिरिक्त आपको कहीं और यह अद्भुत और विलक्षण आशीषों से भरा सौभाग्य प्राप्त होगा, कि स्वयं परमेश्वर आप में आ कर सर्वदा के लिए निवास करे; आपको अपना वचन सिखाए; और आपको शैतान की युक्तियों और हमलों से सुरक्षित रखने के सभी प्रयोजन करके दे? और फिर, आप में होकर अपने आप को औरों पर प्रकट करे, तथा पाप में भटके लोगों को उद्धार और अनन्त जीवन प्रदान करने के अपने अद्भुत कार्य करे, जिससे अंततः आपको ही अपनी ईश्वरीय आशीषों से भर सके? इसलिए अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करके, उनके लिए प्रभु से क्षमा माँगकर, अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आप अपने पापों के अंगीकार और पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से समर्पण की प्रार्थना कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए मेरे सभी पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” प्रभु की शिष्यता तथा मन परिवर्तन के लिए सच्चे पश्चाताप और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Accountability Regarding the Holy Spirit - John 16:7

We have seen the role of God the Holy Spirit in the personal life of a Christian Believer in the previous articles; how He teaches and prepares a disciple of the Lord Jesus, brings to his remembrance what the Lord Jesus taught and said, provides him the safety and security, etc. for his ministry. It is only because of this that the disciple of Christ is able to face and overcome the devices and plans of “the ruler of this world”, i.e., Satan and his angels. A Christian Believer can only be effective when he has become adequately prepared for his ministry, and it is the Holy Spirit who prepares him, and makes him effective in his ministry. No ability, no characteristic, no education and training, no experience of any Believer can be of any use, unless the Holy Spirit makes him ready and useful in His own manner - as we see from the life of Paul. Paul was taught by the best teacher, Gamliel, and received the highest possible education of his time, was trained to be a Pharisee - a master of the Scriptures, and yet he was of no use for God, rather he was a cause for pain and problems in the Christian Ministry. But once he came to faith in the Lord Jesus, it was only then that the Holy Spirit could put his education, training, knowledge, experience, understanding, work, etc. to proper use and he could be made effective for the Lord. After coming to the right understanding of the truth about the Lord Jesus, Paul called all of his previous knowledge, understanding, training, experience, etc., from human sources to be “rubbish”; and his yearning was no longer for gaining knowledge, wisdom, and commendation from men, but to know the power of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and to grow in Him (Philippians 3:4-11). Similarly, Moses also could not put any of the knowledge, wisdom, and abilities he learnt in Egypt, the best learning center of that time, to any use for helping the Israelites. He had to run away from Egypt. Only after he had been trained by God through tending the dumb sheep, did God send him back into Egypt to look after His people, and did wonderful unprecedented works through him, gave His Law and Word through him for the world.

Having talked to the disciples about the role of the Holy Spirit in their personal lives, in John chapter 16, the Lord talked to them about His role in their ministry, on which they would embark in the near future. This starts with the Lord’s statement in John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.” Once again, in this discourse which had begun in John chapter 13, for the fourth time, the Lord tells the disciples that the Holy Spirit will only come to them to be with them and reside in them, when He sends Him. In other words, for the disciples of the Lord, there was no other way to receive God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God, He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, creator; He is not under the command or control of any person, that the person may say and He will have to do accordingly. The Lord God in His great mercy and grace has given Him to His disciples as their helper, but has not made Him the servant or sub-ordinate of His disciples, that they may use Him in any way they want, and speak to the people about Him whatever comes to their minds, do any kind of odd behavior in His name, teach others strange things not given in God’s Word the Bible.

The day the Lord sits on His judgement throne and starts taking an account - and this accounting will begin with God’s people (1 Peter 4:17), all these unBiblical contrived things being practiced, preached, and taught will be a very difficult thing to explain and answer for by those who indulge in them (Matthew 12:36-37); they will have no way to escape from Lord God’s judgement about it all. They will have to suffer the consequences of their derogatory, demeaning, and unBiblical attitude and behavior towards the Holy Spirit.

If you have repented of your sins, sincerely asked forgiveness for them from the Lord Jesus, and have surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus to live a life of obedience to Him, i.e., you are a Christian Believer, then bear in mind that you are accountable and answerable to the Lord Jesus for properly carrying out this decision that you have made. For your eternal rewards in heaven, you will surely be called to answer for your attitude, behavior, works, all you speak and say, etc. (1 Corinthians 3:13-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 22:12). At that time, you will not be able to pass on the blame for your strange, odd, unBiblical behavior, preaching, teaching, and works etc., to others; to sects, groups and denominations and their practices, their rules and regulations etc. Because you had the Word of God in your hand and God’s Holy Spirit was there with you to teach the Word to you, God had also made available other resources to help you learn His Word; the example of so many other people of God was also there for you to see and emulate, and yet you chose to accept, believe, and follow unBiblical teachings and practices devised by men, just because they seemed attractive and beneficial. The Lord has done and provided all that is required for you to live a life pleasing and acceptable to Him; now it is up to you to make use of His provisions. He has prepared and freely made available the best meal and has set the table for you; if you still go and partake of vain, unhealthy food, you cannot hold God responsible for the consequences of your own decisions.

If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian, because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start understanding and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. मसीही सेवकाई और मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की भूमिका की बातों से संबंधित हमारे इस अध्ययन में अभी तक हमने देखा और सीखा है कि किस प्रकार परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी के जीवन कार्य करता है जिससे उसे उस सेवकाई के लिए जो परमेश्वर ने उसके लिए निर्धारित की है (इफिसियों 2:10) तैयार करे तथा प्रभावी बनाए। इस संदर्भ में हमने देखा था कि पवित्र आत्मा मसीही विश्वासी को प्रभु यीशु मसीह की बातों को स्मरण करवाता है, सिखाता है, और उसे वह सुरक्षा तथा सहायता प्रदान करता है जिसकी सहायता से प्रभु का विश्वासी और उपयोगी जन “संसार का सरदार” (यूहन्ना 14:30), अर्थात शैतान का सामना कर सके।

 

यूहन्ना रचित सुसमाचार के अध्याय 13 से 17 तक प्रभु यीशु मसीह के पकड़वाए जाने से ठीक पहले, फसह के पर्व का भोज खाते समय, अपने शिष्यों से किया गया अंतिम वार्तालाप है। प्रभु इस वार्तालाप और इसमें दी गई शिक्षाओं के द्वारा उन्हें आते समयों और परिस्थितियों के लिए तैयार कर रहा था। इसी वार्तालाप के दौरान प्रभु अपने शिष्यों से उन्हें आते समय में पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य प्राप्त होने की बात समझाता है, जिसके बारे में 14 और 16 अध्याय में लिखा है। इन अध्यायों का अध्ययन करते समय, शिष्यों द्वारा पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त करने से संबंधित एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य हमारे सामने आता है - अध्याय 14-16 में, चार बार लिखा गया है कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा केवल प्रभु परमेश्वर की ओर से तथा उसके द्वारा ही, और प्रभु के शिष्यों को ही प्रदान किया जाता है (14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7)। प्रभु क्यों शिष्यों से बारंबार यह बात कह रहा था? यह एक सामान्य व्यवहार और समझ की बात है कि यदि कोई शिक्षक अथवा अगुवा किसी एक ही बात को बारंबार दोहराए, बल देकर विभिन्न प्रकार से कहे, तो तात्पर्य यही है कि वह बात महत्वपूर्ण है, ध्यान रखने योग्य है, उसकी उपयोगिता है, और उसकी अनदेखी नहीं करनी चाहिए। आज के अध्ययन के दोनों पदों को देखिए:

• यूहन्ना 15:26 “परन्तु जब वह सहायक आएगा, जिसे मैं तुम्हारे पास पिता की ओर से भेजूंगा, अर्थात सत्य का आत्मा जो पिता की ओर से निकलता है, तो वह मेरी गवाही देगा।”

• यूहन्ना 16:7 “तौभी मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि मेरा जाना तुम्हारे लिये अच्छा है, क्योंकि यदि मैं न जाऊं, तो वह सहायक तुम्हारे पास न आएगा, परन्तु यदि मैं जाऊंगा, तो उसे तुम्हारे पास भेज दूंगा।”

प्रभु ने उस समय के मौखिक वार्तालाप में तो पवित्र आत्मा को भेजने की बात दोहराई ही, साथ ही जब इस सुसमाचार को भावी विश्व-व्यापी मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए लिखा गया, तो उसमें भी लिखवा दिया; अर्थात, यह बात सारे संसार के सभी स्थानों और समयों के उन सभी विश्वासियों के लिए भी उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण थी, जितनी कि तब प्रभु के साथ उपस्थित उन शिष्यों के लिए थी। प्रभु ने संसार के सभी मसीही विश्वासियों से, वे चाहे किसी भी समय या स्थान के क्यों न हों, इस बात को बल देकर कहा है, जिससे कि वे कभी भी भरमाए न जाएं, गलत शिक्षा में न पड़ जाएं, परमेश्वर के स्वर्गदूतों के भेस में आने वाले शैतान के दूतों द्वारा वचन के सत्य से बहकाए न जाएं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13-15)। आज सारे संसार भर में ऐसे मत, समुदायों, और डिनॉमिनेशंस का बोलबाला है जो परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के नाम से और उन से संबंधित बहुत सी गलत शिक्षाएं लोगों को सिखाने में लगे हुए हैं। वे बाइबल के पदों, वाक्यांशों, शब्दों, और बातों को उनके संदर्भ से बाहर लेकर, उन्हें अपनी धारणाओं के अनुसार तोड़-मरोड़ कर प्रस्तुत करते हैं, उनपर अपनी उन्हीं गलत धारणाओं से संबंधित अर्थ बैठाते हैं। ऐसे लोगों की गलत शिक्षाओं में एक प्रमुख शिक्षा मसीह यीशु पर विश्वास करने के बाद, अलग से पवित्र आत्मा को प्राप्त करने के प्रयत्न करने के संबंध में होती है। वे लोगों के मनों में यह गलत शिक्षा बैठा देने के प्रयास करते हैं कि मनुष्य अपनी युक्तियों, विधियों, और प्रयासों से, या किसी व्यक्ति विशेष अथवा उनके मत के लोगों या उनके अगुवे द्वारा दिखाए और बताए गए निर्देशों का पालन करने से पवित्र आत्मा प्राप्त कर सकता है - मानो पवित्र आत्मा परमेश्वर नहीं मनुष्य के हाथों की कठपुतली है! और साथ ही वे मरकुस 16:18 का दुरुपयोग करते हुए बल देकर एक और गलत शिक्षा भी जोड़ देते हैं कि पवित्र आत्मा मिलने का प्रमाण ‘अन्य भाषाएं बोलना’ तथा आश्चर्यकर्म करना है।

 ये लोग अपनी धारणाओं को बहुत बल देकर प्रस्तुत करते हैं। वे बहुत शोर-शराबे तथा विचित्र शारीरिक हाव-भाव और क्रियाओं के साथ अपनी बातों को यह कहकर प्रस्तुत करते हैं कि उनका यह शोर-शराबा, विचित्र शारीरिक क्रियाएं और हाव-भाव पवित्र आत्मा पा लेने और उनमें पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य विद्यमान होने के प्रमाण हैं। किन्तु उपरोक्त यूहन्ना 15:26 में देखिए, प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने पवित्र आत्मा के प्रभु के शिष्यों में आने के विषय क्या कहा, क्या प्रमाण दिया - “वह मेरी गवाही देगा”; अर्थात शिष्य में परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की उपस्थिति, उस शिष्य के जीवन में प्रभु यीशु मसीह की गवाही विद्यमान होने से प्रमाणित होगी, न कि बाइबल से बाहर की बातों के द्वारा! वह शिष्य मसीह के समान जीना आरंभ कर देगा (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:1; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 4:1-2, 11), प्रभु का गवाह होकर कार्य करने लगेगा, प्रभु यीशु की आज्ञाकारिता में किसी मनुष्य-मत-समुदाय-डिनॉमिनेशन को नहीं वरन परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न करने वाला जीवन व्यतीत करेगा (गलातियों 1:9-10)। शिष्यों को पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य प्राप्त होने से संबंधित प्रभु यीशु की शिक्षाओं के इन चारों हवालों में (यूहन्ना 14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7) प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों से ऐसी कोई बात नहीं कही जैसी ये पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित गलत शिक्षाएं देने वाले बताते और सिखाते हैं। वरन प्रभु यीशु ने आते समय की इन गलत शिक्षाओं से सचेत रहने के लिए ही पहले से ही अपने शिष्यों को समझा दिया, उनके लिए लिखवा दिया कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा किसी मनुष्य के तरीकों से नहीं, केवल और केवल प्रभु परमेश्वर की ओर से ही मिलता है, और प्रत्येक सच्चे मसीही विश्वासी में, उसके उद्धार पाते ही तुरंत ही आकर निवास करने लगता है, जैसा कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं। जिसका वास्तव में उद्धार नहीं हुआ है, उसमें परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा भी निवास नहीं करेगा, वह व्यक्ति चाहे जितने प्रयास, प्रार्थना, उपवास, आदि क्यों न कर ले। व्यक्ति में पवित्र आत्मा की उपस्थिति, उस व्यक्ति के प्रभु यीशु द्वारा ही उद्धार के सुसमाचार का गवाह होने से, प्रभु यीशु मसीह की गवाही रखने (यूहन्ना 15:26) और उस व्यक्ति के द्वारा शरीर की लालसाओं को त्याग कर जीवन में पवित्र आत्मा के फल दर्शाने (गलातीयों 5:22-24) के द्वारा प्रमाणित होती है।

 

यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो ध्यान रखिए कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी का सहायक है, और केवल प्रभु यीशु मसीह तथा पिता परमेश्वर की ओर से आता है। वह मनुष्य के हाथ की कठपुतली नहीं है जिसे मनुष्य अपने प्रयासों और मन के अनुसार लेता-देता रहे, एक-दूसरे पर उतारता रहे, किसी पर उतर आने के लिए बाध्य करता रहे, और फिर उस से कुछ-कुछ तमाशे करवाता रहे। ऐसी भावना रखने वाले लोग शमौन जादूगर, जो विश्वासी तो समझा जाता था, किन्तु जिसको दुष्टता से भरा हुआ कहा गया है, के समान हैं क्योंकि वह परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा को अपने वश में रखकर अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार प्रयोग करना चाहता था (प्रेरितों 8:18-23)। ऐसे लोगों और उनकी बाइबल के अतिरक्त भ्रामक शिक्षाओं तथा गलत सिद्धांतों से बचकर रहिए; उनके बहकावे में न पड़िए।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो थोड़ा थम कर विचार कीजिए, क्या मसीही विश्वास के अतिरिक्त आपको कहीं और यह अद्भुत और विलक्षण आशीषों से भरा सौभाग्य प्राप्त होगा, कि स्वयं परमेश्वर आप में आ कर सर्वदा के लिए निवास करे; आपको अपना वचन सिखाए; और आपको शैतान की युक्तियों और हमलों से सुरक्षित रखने के सभी प्रयोजन करके दे? और फिर, आप में होकर अपने आप को औरों पर प्रकट करे, तथा पाप में भटके लोगों को उद्धार और अनन्त जीवन प्रदान करने के अपने अद्भुत कार्य करे, जिससे अंततः आपको ही अपनी ईश्वरीय आशीषों से भर सके? इसलिए अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करके, उनके लिए प्रभु से क्षमा माँगकर, अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आप अपने पापों के अंगीकार और पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से समर्पण की प्रार्थना कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए मेरे सभी पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” प्रभु की शिष्यता तथा मन परिवर्तन के लिए सच्चे पश्चाताप और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

English Translation

A Witnessing Life Evidence of Holy Spirit's Presence - John 15:26; 16:7

In our study on the role of the Holy Spirit in Christian ministry and life of faith of a Christian Believer, we have seen so far how God the Holy Spirit works in every Christian Believer’s life, to prepare him and make him effective in the ministry God has assigned to him (Ephesians 2:10). In this context we have seen that the Holy Spirit brings to the Christian Believer’s remembrance the words and teachings of the Lord Jesus, and provides to him the safety and security to face “the ruler of this world” (John 14:30), i.e., Satan.

Given in John’s Gospel, from chapter 13 to 17 is the last discourse the Lord Jesus had with His disciples, just before His being caught for crucifixion, while eating the Passover feast with them. Through this discourse the Lord was preparing them for the times and situations that they would be facing soon and, in the days to come. During this conversation, as written in chapters 14 and 16, the Lord makes them understand the about the power of the Holy Spirit that they were going to receive. While reading and studying these chapters, a very important fact regarding receiving the Holy Spirit come before us - in chapters 14-16, it is written four times that the Holy Spirit is given only by the Lord God, and only to His disciples (14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7). Why was the Lord saying this to His disciples repeatedly? It is a thing of common sense and general behavior that if a teacher or an elder says something repeatedly, emphasizes upon it, expresses it in different ways, then that thing is of great importance, has to be kept in mind, it is not to be disregarded or ignored. Carefully consider both the verses of today’s study:

• John 15:26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.”

• John 16:7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”

The Lord, repeated this thing not only during His oral discourse, but also when the Gospels were written for the future world-wide Christian Believers, then in the written form also He had it written repeatedly. Therefore, this thing is just as important for the world-wide community of Christian Believers now, as it was for those disciples present with the Lord Jesus at that time. The Lord Jesus has emphatically stated this for all His Believers, of all times and all places, so that they may not be misled, should not get carried away in wrong doctrines and teachings, should not fall for misinterpretations of God’s Word by the agents of the devil masquerading as the angels of the Lord (2 Corinthians 11:3, 13-15). Today, all over the world, many sects, groups, and denominations are working very hard to entice people into wrong teachings and false doctrines about the Holy Spirit. They take the words, verses, phrases, and teachings from the Bible out of their context and piece-meal, twist and turn them around according to their own notions, apply their own meanings and understanding to them, and then cleverly serve them to people to draw them away from the truth of God’s Word. One of the prominent teachings of such false teachers is their preaching and telling people that after being saved, they need to make some special efforts to receive the Holy Spirit. They try to make the people believe that man through his methods, devices, efforts, or through the help of some special person, or through following the instructions of an elder or people of their sect or denomination, can receive the Holy Spirit - as if the Holy Spirit is not God but a puppet in the hands of man! They also misinterpret and misuse Mark 16:18, and add another wrong teaching to this, that the proof of having received the Holy Spirit is “speaking in tongues” and doing miraculous works.

They present their false teachings and doctrines very emphatically, accompanied by a lot of noises and body gestures, claiming that these are all the manifestation of the presence of the power of the Holy Spirit in them. But look at John 15:26 given above - what proof did the Lord Jesus say about the presence of the Holy Spirit in His disciples? He said - "He will testify of Me” - i.e., the presence of the Holy Spirit in the disciple will be affirmed by the witness of the Lord Jesus in the disciple’s life, and not by anything outside of what is said in the Bible. This simply means that the disciple will start emulating the Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2, 11); will start to live in obedience to the Lord and His Word to please the Lord God, and not in obedience to any man or sect or denomination (Galatians 1:9-10). In any of these four references (John14:16-17, 26; 15:26; 16:7) of the disciples receiving the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus never stated any of the things these people falsely teach about receiving the Holy Spirit. Rather, the Lord Jesus has forewarned about these wrong teachings infiltrating into His Church, so that we may be cautious; the Lord has very clearly said that the Holy Spirit is not given by the efforts of any man, but only from God, and He comes to reside in every saved person from the moment of his being saved, as we have seen before. The person who is not actually Born-Again will never receive the Holy Spirit, whatever efforts, prayers, fasting, tarrying etc. he may do. The proof of the presence of the Holy Spirit in a person is his being a witness for the Lord Jesus and emulating the Lord Jesus (John 15:26), and his leaving aside the desires of the body and world, having a life demonstrating the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-24).

If you are a Christian Believer, then never forget that the Holy Spirit is a helper for every Christian Believer, and is given to him only by the Lord Jesus and God the Father. The Holy Spirit is not a puppet in the hands of man, that men may distribute or give Him out at their discretion, by their own contrived means and methods. The Holy Spirit cannot be compelled to come upon any person, nor can He be compelled to make the person do strange, odd things, like many people claim to do today “under the power and influence of the Holy Spirit.” Those who believe in such a behavior are like Simon the sorcerer, who, despite claiming to be a Believer, was called a person full of wickedness and iniquity, because he desired to keep the Holy Spirit under his control and use Him as he wanted to (Acts 8:18-23). Beware of such people, their unBiblical ways, and do not fall for their false teachings and wrong doctrines.

If you are still thinking of yourself as being a Christian, because of being born in a particular family and having fulfilled the religious rites and rituals prescribed under your religion or denomination since your childhood, then you too need to come out of your misunderstanding of Biblical facts and start understanding and living according to what the Word of God says, instead of what any denominational creed says or teaches. Make the necessary corrections in your life now while you have the time and opportunity; lest by the time you realize your mistake, it is too late to do anything about it.

If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the opportunity to do so right now. A short prayer said voluntarily with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so - the decision is yours.
