पवित्र आत्मा की निन्दा करने का पाप (2)

    पिछले लेख से हमने परमेश्वर के वचन के आधार पर यह समझना आरम्भ किया है कि कभी क्षमा न होने वाला पाप, वास्तव में है क्या। इस बात को हम कुछ प्रश्नों के उत्तर के रूप में समझेंगे। पवित्र आत्मा यह समझने के लिए कि यह “निरादर” या “निन्दा” वास्तव में है क्या, और यह क्यों परमेश्वर पिता तथा प्रभु यीशु के विरुद्ध नहीं, केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ही के विरुद्ध ही क्षमा नहीं हो सकता है, हमें परमेश्वर के वचन में से कुछ तथ्यों एवं शिक्षाओं को देखना होगा।

    इसे केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के विरुद्ध पाप ही क्यों कहा गया है?

    परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल हमारे प्रभु परमेश्वर को त्रिएक परमेश्वर दिखाती है, परमेश्वर पिता, परमेश्वर पुत्र – प्रभु यीशु मसीह, और परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की पवित्र त्रिएकता। ये तीनों हर प्रकार से और हर बात में पूर्णतः एक और समान हैं, इन तीनों में कोई भी, किसी भी प्रकार की भिन्नता नहीं है – पवित्र त्रिएक परमेश्वर – एक परमेश्वर तीन पवित्र व्यक्तित्वों में। तो जबकि तीनों हर रीति से समान और बराबर हैं, तो फिर ऐसा क्यों है कि केवल “पवित्र आत्मा के निरादर” के लिए ही इतने कठोर परिणाम दिए गए हैं; जबकि ऐसे ही दुष्परिणामों का न तो कोई संकेत और न ही कोई दावा परमेश्वर पिता, या परमेश्वर पुत्र – प्रभु यीशु के विरुद्ध किए गए निरादर के लिए कहा गया है; जबकि तीनों ही परमेश्वर के समान स्वरूप हैं?

    इसे समझने के लिए त्रिएक परमेश्वर के तीन व्यक्तित्वों के संबंध में कुछ बारीकियों को देखना होगा। परमेश्वर पुत्र – प्रभु यीशु मसीह, जब पृथ्वी पर हमारे उद्धारकर्ता बन कर आए, तो वे अपनी स्वर्गीय महिमा, वैभव, स्वरूप, और स्थान को छोड़कर आए थे। बाइबल बताती है कि मानव स्वरूप में उन्होंने अपने आप को स्वर्गीय महिमा से शून्य कर लिया और वे स्वर्गदूतों से थोड़ा कम किए गए थे (फिलिप्पियों 2:5-8; इब्रानियों 2:9)। इस मानवीय स्वरूप में, वे संसार के पाप उठाने और संसार के छुटकारे के लिए बलिदान होने के लिए आए थे। इसके लिए उनका, तुच्छ समझा जाना, उनके विरुद्ध बोला जाना, उनका दुःख और ताड़ना सहना, और संसार के लोगों से तिरस्कृत एवं निरादर होना, पूर्व-निर्धारित था (यशायाह 53)। उन्हें भी वही सब अनुभव करना और सहना था जिसमें होकर संसार के लोग निकलते हैं; उन्हें किसी भी अन्य मनुष्य के समान जीवन जीना था (इब्रानियों 4:15; 5:7-8), इन सब बातों में भी निष्पाप बने रहना था, और अंततः क्रूस की श्रापित मृत्यु सहन करनी थी। उनके इस मानवीय स्वरूप और अस्तित्व के सन्दर्भ में, मृत्यु सहने के लिए स्वर्गदूतों से कुछ कम किए जाने से, पृथ्वी पर उनका यह शारीरिक या मानवीय स्वरूप उनके त्रिएक परमेश्वरीय स्वरूप से कुछ “कम” था। इसलिए उनके मानवीय स्वरूप की निंदा या निरादर का दोष, जिसे उन्हें सहना ही था, त्रिएक परमेश्वर के शह दोनों, परमेश्वर पिता तथा परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के निरादर से कुछ कम और भिन्न होता। क्योंकि हमारे प्रभु को हमारे उद्धार का मार्ग प्रदान करने की अपनी सेवकाई के दौरान अपमान और तिरस्कार सहना निर्धारित किया गया था, इसलिए उनके (अर्थात उनके शारीरिक/मानव स्वरूप के) विरुद्ध कही गई, या कही जाने वाली निंदनीय बातों को क्षमा न हो सकने वाला पाप कहना उनके पृथ्वी पर आने के उद्देश्य को ही विफल कर देता, और संसार को छुटकारे के स्थान पर नाश में भेज देता। इसलिए परमेश्वर पुत्र की निंदा को क्षमा न हो सकने वाला पाप नहीं कहा जा सकता था।

    परमेश्वर पिता के संदर्भ में, ध्यान करें कि शब्द “परमेश्वर” और “पिता” सभी संस्कृतियों और धर्मों में सामान्यतः प्रयोग किए जाने वाले शब्द हैं, जिन्हें नास्तिक और धर्म को न मानने वाले भी प्रयोग करते रहते हैं; बहुधा सौगंध खाने और अपशब्दों के साथ भी, जैसे कि, “अरे मेरे परमेश्वर/या ख़ुदा” “परमेश्वर नाश करे,” “परमेश्वर के श्रापित,” “परमेश्वर की सौगंध” आदि। संसार के किसी भी व्यक्ति द्वारा इन अपमानजनक या निंदनीय शब्दों का प्रयोग करने का यह अर्थ नहीं है कि वह इन्हें मसीही विश्वास के पवित्र त्रिएक परमेश्वरत्व में से पिता परमेश्वर के लिए ही प्रयोग कर रहा है। इसी प्रकार से शब्द “पिता” भी संसार भर में अनेकों अभिप्रायों के साथ प्रयोग किया जाता है, और इसे भी बहुधा अपशब्दों और सौगंध लेने में भी प्रयोग किया जाता है। इसलिए शब्द “पिता” तथा शब्द “परमेश्वर” का, जिन्हें किसी भी मत अथवा धर्म में किसी भी आदरणीय अथवा आराध्य के लिए प्रयोग किया जा सकता है - और यह भी बाइबल के विरुद्ध है, किसी भी प्रकार से दुरुपयोग करना, यदि उसे यहोवा परमेश्वर के निरादर की परिभाषा से पृथक नहीं रखा जाता, तो स्वतः ही शब्दों का इस प्रकार से प्रयोग करने वाला व्यक्ति, तुरंत ही सदा काल के लिए दोषी ठहराया जाता, और उसके पास फिर कभी उद्धार पाने का कोई अवसर नहीं रहता। इसलिए ये दोनों शब्द “पिता” एवं “परमेश्वर” के दुरुपयोग को भी कभी क्षमा न हो सकने वाले पापों में सम्मिलित नहीं किए जा सकता था।

    अब पवित्र त्रिएक परमेश्वरत्व में केवल परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ही शेष रहा। यहां पर एक बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण ध्यान देने योग्य बात यह है कि परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा का विचार केवल मसीही और यहूदी धर्म की विचारधारा में ही पाया जाता है; संसार के अन्य किसी भी धर्म या विश्वास में यह विद्यमान नहीं है। क्योंकि पवित्र आत्मा के बारे में पुराने नियम के समय में भी लोगों को भली-भांति पता था (उदाहरण के लिए, उत्पत्ति 1:2; भजन 104:30; 139:7 आदि) और फरीसी, सदूकी, और शास्त्री उसी पुराने नियम को पढ़ा करते थे, तथा लोगों को सिखाते भी थे, इसलिए वे फरीसी, सदूकी, और शास्त्री किसी भी प्रकार से परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के विषय अनभिज्ञ होने का दावा नहीं कर सकते थे, और न ही पवित्र आत्मा के त्रिएक परमेश्वर का अभिन्न एवं समतुल्य भाग होने से अपने आप को अनजान होने को कह सकते थे।

    इसलिए, परमेश्वर पिता तथा परमेश्वर पुत्र के विषय में उपरोक्त बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुए, मूलतः, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा के विरुद्ध कही गई निरादर की कोई बात ही वास्तविकता में एकमात्र सच्चे परमेश्वर की निंदा मानी जा सकती है।

    पवित्र परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध बात करना वही पाप है जिसके कारण प्रधान-स्वर्गदूत लूसिफर गिराया गया (यशायाह 14:12-14; यहेजकेल 28:12-15), और शैतान बन गया – सदा काल के लिए परमेश्वर और उससे संबंधित किसी भी बात का विरोधी। लूसिफर ने परमेश्वर की महिमा और महानता के विरुद्ध बलवा किया और बातें कीं। लूसिफर ने परमेश्वर को उसके समस्त महिमा, वैभव, महानता, अधिकार और सामर्थ्य में भली-भाँति जानने के बावजूद; परमेश्वर के विषय सारी जानकारी रखते हुए भी जानबूझकर किया गया उसका यह विद्रोह लूसिफर के लिए क्षमा न होने वाला पाप बन गया, और उसे स्वर्ग से निष्कासित कर दिया गया। वह शैतान बन गया, तथा उसे और उसके अनुयायियों को अनन्तकाल तक दण्ड भोगने के लिए ठहरा दिया गया (मत्ती 25:41, 46)।

    अगले लेख में हम देखेंगे कि लूसिफर का पाप क्यों क्षमा नहीं हो सकता था; और यह भी समझेंगे कि वचन के अनुसार निन्दा (blasphemy) शब्द का वास्तव में क्या अर्थ और अभिप्राय होता है।

    यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह जानना और समझना अति-आवश्यक है कि आप परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा से संबंधित इन गलत शिक्षाओं में न पड़ जाएं; न खुद भरमाए जाएं, और न ही आपके द्वारा कोई और भरमाया जाए। लोगों द्वारा कही जाने वाले ही नहीं, वरन वचन में लिखी हुई बातों पर भी ध्यान दें, और लोगों की बातों को वचन की बातों से मिला कर जाँचें और परखें। यदि आप इन गलत शिक्षाओं में पड़ चुके हैं, तो अभी वचन के अध्ययन और बात को जाँच-परख कर, सही शिक्षा को, उसी के पालन को अपना लें।

    यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Understanding The Sin of Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit (2)

     Since the previous article we have begun to understand on the basis of God's Word, what the unforgivable sin is. We will understand this as answers to some questions. Let us start understanding what this “blasphemy” actually is, and why it has been said to be “unforgivable” only against God the Holy Spirit, and not against God the Father, or the Lord Jesus, from some pertinent facts and teachings of the Word of God.

    Why has it been called “unforgivable” only against God the Holy Spirit?

    God’s Word the Bible shows that the Lord our God is a Triune God, a Holy Trinity of God the Father, God the Son - the Lord Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in everything and in every manner, none of them is different or lesser from another in any way - Holy Triune God - One God as three divine personalities. Therefore, if all three of them are equal and similar in all respects and for everything, then why is it that only the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit has such serious consequences; while no such admonition has ever been stated or even indicated against God the Father and God the Son - the Lord Jesus?

    To understand this, we will have to look into and understand the finer points about the mutual relationship of these three personalities of the Triune God. When God the Son - the Lord Jesus, came to this earth as our saviour, He left His glory, majesty, divine form, and position in heaven. The Bible tells us that in His human form He emptied Himself of His divine form and was made slightly lower than the angels (Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 2:9). He had come down in this human form, to take upon Himself the sins of the whole world and sacrifice Himself for deliverance from them. To accomplish this, it was fore-ordained that He will be despised and rejected, will be spoken against and ridiculed, will have to suffer pain and persecution, and will be dishonored and humiliated by the people of the world (Isaiah 53). Lord Jesus had to live a life like any other person of the earth, had to live, suffer and experience like humans (Hebrews 4:15; 5:7-8) remain sinless through it all, and finally endure the cursed death on the cross. In context of His human form and existence, in His being made a little lower than the angels to suffer death, in His physical form on earth He was somewhat “lesser” than His divine form as one of the Triune God. Therefore, His being insulted, despised, rejected, and humiliated, blasphemed against in His human form, all of which was fore-ordained for Him to suffer anyways, was in a way different than the same being done against the other members of the Holy Trinity. Moreover, since He had to pass through all of these derogatory experiences in His earthly form at the hands of mankind to prepare the way of salvation for all of mankind, therefore if anything spoken against Him (i.e., His earthly form) were to be called “an unforgivable sin”, then it would defeat the very purpose of His coming to earth, and instead would have condemned mankind into eternal destruction, with no remedy for their sins. Therefore, the blasphemy against God the Son could not be called “an unforgivable sin.”

    In the context of God the Father, take note that the words “God” and “father” are found and used in all civilizations, religions, and beliefs. Even atheists and irreligious people use them; and often people use these two words without keeping in mind or realizing their meaning, as ‘swear words’ or in an insulting and derogatory sense, as “Oh! My God”; “God condemn/destroy you”; “Curse you in God’s name”; “God’s promise”; and even in abuses and invectives. The use of these two words “God” and “father” in this derogatory manner by anyone in the world does not necessarily mean that he is saying that derogatory thing against God the Father of the Bible, i.e., against the holy personality of the Holy Trinity of the Christian Faith. Similarly, the word “father” can be used with many different implications and senses, often to swear or in abusive language. The words “God” and “father”, have been used in every culture, civilization, belief, religion of the world in an honorable and reverential manner, and at times for worshipping and even for elevating a person to the status of deity and for according him a divine honor, which is again unBiblical. Hence any misuse and misapplication of these words, “God” and “father”, if they had not been kept out of the purview of this blasphemy of the Lord God Jehovah, then all those who would ever have done this would have become guilty and worthy of eternal condemnation, and would never have had any chance of being saved from their sins. Therefore, these two words, “God” and “father” too, could not have been included in the scope of the “unforgivable sin of blasphemy.”

    This leaves only God the Holy Spirit from the Holy Trinity. A very important thing to keep in mind over here is the fact that the concept of “God the Holy Spirit” is unique only to the Judeo-Christian religious thinking and beliefs; it is not seen in any other culture, belief, or religion of the world. Since even the people of the Old Testament knew about the Holy Spirit (e.g., Genesis 1:2; Psalms 104:30; 139:7, etc.), and the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Scribes used to study, teach and preach the Old Testament, therefore there is no way in which they could say that they did not know about the Holy Spirit; nor could they claim that they were unaware of the Holy Spirit being a part of the Holy Trinity of God.

    Therefore, keeping the above-mentioned things in mind about God the Father and God the Son, essentially, it is only something derogatory stated against the Holy Spirit that could have been considered as blasphemy against the one and only true and living Holy God.

    To speak against the Holy God is the same sin that the archangel Lucifer committed and was cast out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:12-15), and became Satan - forever and ever the opponent of God and everything related to God. Lucifer rebelled and spoke against the glory and majesty of God. Lucifer had seen God in all His glory, majesty, sovereignty, and power; he well knew who God was, but still rebelled against Him, spoke against Him, wanted to rise over and above God. Being well aware of the truth, and still willfully and knowingly rebelling against God became the unforgivable sin for Lucifer and he was cast out of heaven along with his angels. He became Satan, and he along with his followers was condemned to eternal hell (Matthew 25:41, 46).

   In the next article we will see why Lucifer’s sin could not be forgiven, and will also understand what the word ‘blasphemy’ means according to the Word of God.

    If you are a Christian Believer, then it is very essential for you to know and learn that you do not get beguiled and misled into wrong teachings and doctrines about the Holy Spirit; neither should you get deceived, nor should anyone else be deceived through you. Take note of the things written in God’s Word, not on things spoken by the people; always cross-check and verify all messages and teachings from the Word of God. If you have already been entangled in wrong teachings, then by cross-checking and verifying them from the Word of God, hold to only that which is the truth, follow it, and reject the rest.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

मसीही जीवन के चार स्तम्भ - 4 - प्रार्थना (25) 

व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन जीने से सम्बन्धित बातों में से एक है प्रार्थना करना। आज के समय में मसीहियों में मसीही जीवन जीने से सम्बन्धित बातों को लेकर शैतान ने बहुत सी भ्रांतियाँ फैला रखीं हैं। इस कारण आज के मसीहियों का जीवन और व्यवहार, बाइबल में दिए गए आरम्भिक मसीहियों और कलीसियाओं के जीवन और व्यवहार से भिन्न हैं। किन्तु फिर भी परमेश्वर के वचन से बाहर की इन बातों को बड़ी लग्न से स्वीकार किया जाता है, उनका पालन किया जाता है। इन गलत बातों के मसीहियों के जीवन में घुस आने, और जड़ पकड़ लेने का मुख्य कारण है मसीहियों द्वारा व्यक्तिगत बाइबल अध्ययन को छोड़कर, केवल पास्टर, कलीसिया के अगुवों, या प्रचारकों द्वारा कही गई बातों पर अन्ध-विश्वास कर लेना और बिना जाँचे परखे उन्हें मानते रहना। यदि स्वीकार करने से पहले हर बात बाइबल से जाँची-परखी जाए, और फिर उसका पालन किया जाए, तो शैतान को अपने झूठ फैलाने का अवसर भी नहीं रहेगा। इसीलिए हम व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित बातों को परमेश्वर के वचन के उदाहरणों और लेखों के आधार पर देख रहे हैं, उनके वास्तविक स्वरूप और उपयोग के बारे में सीख रहे हैं। वर्तमान में, प्रार्थना के बारे में सीखते हुए, हम तथा-कथित “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” के बारे में मत्ती 6:5-15 से सीख रहे हैं। इस “प्रार्थना” को बचपन से ही मसीहियों को रटा दिया जाता है, और फिर वे जीवन भर, हर अवसर और हर परिस्थिति में, बिना इसके बारे में जाने, बिना इस पर सोचे समझे, इसे बोलते रहते हैं। लेकिन जैसा हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है, प्रभु ने इसे अपने शिष्यों को उस तरह से उपयोग करने के लिए नहीं दिया था, जैसा कि आज इसे उपयोग किया जा रहा है। यह परमेश्वर से कारगर प्रार्थना करने की एक रूपरेखा, एक ढाँचा है, जिसके आधार पर मसीहियों को अपनी व्यक्तिगत प्रार्थनाएं बनानी और स्वरूपित करनी हैं। मत्ती के इस खण्ड से हमने, पद 5-8 से देखा है कि परमेश्वर के सामने प्रार्थना के साथ उपस्थित होने से पहले, प्रार्थना करने वाले को कुछ तैयारी कर लेनी चाहिए, परमेश्वर से क्या और क्यों माँगना है, उसके लिए अपने आप को कैसे तैयार करना चाहिए। आज से हम इस “प्रभु की प्रार्थना” के पदों, पद 9-13, पर विचार आरम्भ करेंगे।

प्रभु यीशु ने इस प्रार्थना की रूपरेखा, या ढाँचे के बारे में आरम्भ करते हुए कहा, “सो तुम इस रीति से प्रार्थना किया करो; “हे हमारे पिता, तू जो स्वर्ग में है; तेरा नाम पवित्र माना जाए। तेरा राज्य आए; तेरी इच्छा जैसी स्वर्ग में पूरी होती है, वैसे पृथ्वी पर भी हो” (मत्ती 6:9-10)। प्रभु द्वारा दिए गए प्रार्थना के इस ढाँचे, इस रूपरेखा को मोटे तौर पर तीन भागों में बाँटा जा सकता है - आरम्भिक सम्बोधन (पद 9-10), प्रार्थना के विषय (पद 11-13a), और समापन (पद 13b)। प्रार्थना की इस रूपरेखा का आरम्भिक सम्बोधन, और समापन दोनों परमेश्वर की आराधना अर्थात उसका गुणानुवाद, उसे सम्मान देना हैं। फिर मध्य भाग उन विषयों के बारे में है जिन्हें प्राप्त करने के लिए हमें परमेश्वर के सम्मुख आना है। अर्थात, प्रभु के लोगों को, प्रभु से कुछ प्राप्त करने की मनसा रखने वालों को, केवल प्रभु से माँगने वाला ही नहीं, वरन सबसे पहले प्रभु का आराधक, उसका गुणानुवाद करने वाला, उसे सम्मान देने वाला भी होना चाहिए। पिता परमेश्वर की आराधना, उसका गुणानुवाद करना, उसे सम्मान देना दिखाता है कि हम उसकी हस्ती को, उसके सार्वभौमिक, सर्वोच्च, सर्वाधिकारी होने को, सभी बातों के उसके नियंत्रण में होने को, और उसके हमारी हर आवश्यकता की पूर्ति करने की क्षमता रखने वाले एकमात्र होने को जानते और मानते हुए उसके सम्मुख अपनी आवश्यकताओं को लेकर आए हैं। जब हम परमेश्वर पिता की वास्तविक हस्ती, उसकी सार्वभौमिकता को अपने जीवनों में अंगीकार करेंगे, उसे सर्वप्रथम रखेंगे, उसके प्रति अपने जीवन और व्यवहार को उससे सम्बन्धित इन बातों के अनुरूप करेंगे, तो स्वतः ही फिर हम यह ध्यान भी रखेंगे कि हम उससे जो भी कहें, जो भी माँगें, वह हमारे पिता परमेश्वर की उस हस्ती और उसके गुणों के अनुसार हो। हमारा उससे कुछ भी माँगना या कहना, उसकी इस हस्ती में, उसके गुणों में कोई ऐसी बात न लाए, जो उसके स्वरूप और चरित्र की इन बातों को किसी भी रीति से कम करे, किसी भी तरह से उसे नीचा दिखाए, किसी भी रूप में उसके लिए अपमानजनक हो। तब ही हमें यह आशा रखनी चाहिए कि परमेश्वर पिता हमारी सुनेगा और उसका सकारात्मक उत्तर भी देगा।

हमने पिछले लेखों में देखा है कि परमेश्वर का प्रार्थनाओं को सुनकर उत्तर देने का आश्वासन, प्रचलित किन्तु गलत धारणा के विपरीत, केवल प्रभु के सच्चे, समर्पित, और आज्ञाकारी शिष्यों के लिए ही है; हर किसी के लिए नहीं। साथ ही हमने यूहन्ना 3:3, 5 से देखा है कि प्रभु का सच्चा शिष्य होने का अर्थ है वास्तव में नया जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी होना, परमेश्वर पिता के परिवार का एक सदस्य होना (यूहन्ना 1:12-13)। इसी बात के आधार पर प्रभु ने प्रार्थना की इस रूपरेखा में सबसे पहली बात जो कही है, वह है “हे हमारे पिता।” अर्थात, परमेश्वर से वार्तालाप का, उससे कुछ माँगने और पाने की इच्छा रखने का आधार परमेश्वर के साथ हमारा सम्बन्ध है। सबसे पहले हमें परमेश्वर के साथ अपने सम्बन्ध को समझना चाहिए। जिनका परमेश्वर के साथ पिता और सन्तान का सम्बन्ध नहीं है, उन्हें सबसे पहले अपने जीवन की इस कमी को ठीक करना चाहिए, और फिर परमेश्वर की सन्तान बनकर परमेश्वर से प्राप्त करने की लालसा रखनी चाहिए। जब व्यक्ति अपने आप को परमेश्वर के परिवार का सदस्य जानता और पहचानता है, तो वह फिर अपने जीवन और व्यवहार में, अपनी लालसाओं और अभिलाषाओं में इस बात का भी ध्यान रखेगा कि परमेश्वर पिता से उसका वार्तालाप, इस पारिवारिक सम्बन्ध, परिवार की इस गरिमा और सम्मान के अनुसार हो। उसकी किसी भी बात से न तो उसके पिता परमेश्वर पर और न ही उसके परिवार तथा अन्य पारिवारिक सदस्यों पर कोई आँच न आने पाए, कोई उँगली न उठाने पाए। अर्थात, इस पिता और सन्तान के सम्बन्ध के एहसास के साथ ही परमेश्वर के पास आने वाले व्यक्ति के जीवन, व्यवहार, लालसाओं, और अभिलाषाओं में स्वतः ही बहुत सुधार हो जाता है, व्यर्थ बातें हटने लगती हैं, और व्यक्ति परमेश्वर पिता की इच्छा और उसके वचन के अनुसार ढलने लग जाता है। ऐसे में स्वाभाविक है कि उसकी प्रार्थनाएं या ‘माँगें’ भी परमेश्वर पिता की इच्छा और वचन के अनुसार होने लग जाएंगी, और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो जाएंगी।

 

बहुत से लोगों में यह प्रवृत्ति पाई जाती है कि वे “प्रभु यीशु के लहू के द्वारा,” या “प्रभु के क्रूस के द्वारा,” या अन्य ऐसे किसी वाक्यांश का प्रयोग करते हुए परमेश्वर के सम्मुख आने की बातें बोलते हैं। परमेश्वर के वचन में, परमेश्वर के सम्मुख आने का आधार केवल व्यक्ति का परमेश्वर से पिता और सन्तान का रिश्ता होना ही दिखाया गया है। इसके अतिरिक्त जो भी सम्बोधन हैं, वे चाहे श्रद्धा पूर्ण हों, लेकिन वचन के उदाहरणों से सुसंगत नहीं हैं; वचन में जोड़ी गई बातें हैं, जो करना मना किया गया है। उनके प्रयोग के औचित्य और उपयोगिता का वचन से कोई समर्थन नहीं है। प्रभु द्वारा परमेश्वर पिता को सम्बोधित करने के लिए दिया गया वाक्यांश है “हे हमारे पिता;” इसलिए वचन में अपनी ओर से कुछ नया जोड़ने की बजाए, किसी मनुष्य की बुद्धि और समझ की बात का पालन करने की बजाए, प्रभु द्वारा दी गई बात का पालन करना ही सही और उचित है। अगले लेख में हम यहाँ से आगे देखेंगे।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (25)

One of the components of living a practical Christian life is prayer. Nowadays, Satan has spread many wrong concepts related to living a Christian life. Therefore, the life and behavior of the present-day Christians and of the churches is quite different from the way of living and behavior of the initial Christians and the churches at that time. But still, the things from outside of God’s Word are readily accepted and followed. The main reason for these wrong things having entered and taken root in the lives of the Christians is their moving away from personal Bible study, and depending only upon the Pastors, Church Elders, and Preachers; having a blind faith in whatever they say, and following them without first examining and cross checking them. If everything is examined and cross-checked from the Bible before accepting and following it, Satan will not have any opportunity to spread his lies. Therefore, we are learning about the actual form and observance of things related to practical Christian living from the examples and the text given in God’s Word. Presently, while learning about prayer, we are now considering the so-called “Lord’s Prayer” through Matthew 6:5-15. The children are made to memorize this “prayer” from their childhood, and then for the rest of their lives, on every occasion and for every circumstance, they keep repeating it, without knowing or understanding anything about it. But, as we have seen in the earlier articles, the Lord had not given it to His disciples to be used in such a manner as it is being used today. This is an outline, a framework, based on which the Christians have to build and mold their personal prayers. From this section of Matthew, we have seen from verses 5 to 8 of this section of Matthew, that before presenting ourselves before God in prayer, we should make some preparations about what we are going to ask God for, and why; and, how we should make ourselves ready to come before God. From today we will start considering this “Lord’s Prayer” given in verses 9-13.

The Lord Jesus at the beginning of this outline or framework said “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9-10). This framework, this outline of prayer given by the Lord, can broadly be divided into three parts - the opening address (verses 9-10), the topics for asking (verses 11-13a), and the ending (verse 13b). In this framework of prayer, both, the opening address, and the ending are God’s worship, i.e., exalting and honoring Him. The middle part is about the things we should be coming to God for. In other words, the people of God, those who desire to receive something from God, should not just be those who ask for things from God, but also be those who worship Him, praise and honor Him. To worship Father God, to exalt and honor Him shows that we recognize His stature, His being all-in-all, the most high, the highest authority, everything being under His control, and His being the only one who has the ability to fulfill all our needs, and with this in mind we have come before Him for our needs. When we acknowledge the true stature of God, of His being all-in-all, give Him the first place in our lives, and mold our lives and behavior in accordance with these, then automatically we will also take care that whatever we say to Him, whatever we ask of Him, it is consistent with the stature and attributes of God. So, anything that we ask for or say, should not in any way be anything that in any way diminishes anything related to His characteristics and stature, is in any way insulting to Him, or brings Him down in any manner. Only then will we have this hope that Father God will listen to us and answer favorably.

We have seen in the earlier articles that God’s assurance to listen and answer prayers, contrary to the popular but wrong concept, is only for the true, surrendered, obedient disciples of the Lord; it has not been given for everyone. We have also seen from John 3:3, 5 that to be a true disciple of the Lord means to be a truly Born-Again Christian Believer, to be a member of God’s family (John 1:12-13). On this basis, the first thing that the Lord has said in this outline of prayer is “Our Father.” In other words, the basis of conversing with God, of having the desire to ask and receive something from Him, is our relationship with God. The first thing that we should understand about is our relationship with God. Those who do not have a Father and child relationship with God, should first rectify this deficiency in their lives, and then, having become a child of God, have the desire to receive anything from God. When a person recognizes himself as a member of God’s family, then in his life and behavior, in his desires and expectations, he is also careful to ensure that his conversation with God should be according to the dignity and honor of this familial relationship. Nothing of what he says or does should in any way bring a bad name, and no one should have any reason or opportunity to point fingers on his Father God and other members of his family. That is to say that with the realization of this Father and child relationship with God, the life, behavior, desires, expectations, etc., automatically start changing for the better, the vain things start falling away, and the person starts conforming to the will and Word of Father God. In such a situation, it is only natural that his prayers and ‘wants’ will also start becoming consistent with God’s will and Word, and will become acceptable to God.

There is a tendency seen in many people that they use phrases like “through the blood of Jesus” or “through the Cross of the Lord” or something else like these, to come before God with their requests. In God’s Word, the one and only basis of approaching God is the Father and child relationship with God. Using anything other than this to address God, even though it may sound reverential, it is not consistent with the examples given in God’s Word. They are additions to God’s Word, something that has been forbidden. There is no rationale and no utility for them on the basis of God’s Word. The phrase given by the Lord Jesus for addressing God is “Our Father.” Therefore, instead of adding anything new to God’s Word, instead of following anything according to the wisdom and understanding of any man, following what has been said and given by the Lord is the correct and appropriate thing to do. In the next article, we will carry on from here.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित चार बातें प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई हैं, और आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी लौलीन होकर उनका पालन किया करते थे। इसीलिए वे हर परिस्थिति का सामना करते हुए, अपने मसीही विश्वास में स्थिर और दृढ़ खड़े रहे, आत्मिक जीवन में उन्नति करते रहे, और कलीसियाएं भी बढ़ती चली गईं। इन चार में से हम तीन बातों को देख चुके हैं, और अब चौथी बात, प्रार्थना करने, को देख रहे हैं। अभी तक हमने देखा है कि प्रार्थना करना, केवल परमेश्वर से माँगना, या उससे कुछ करने के लिए कहना नहीं है। वरन, उससे हर बात के बारे में वार्तालाप करना, उससे सहायता, मार्गदर्शन, और निर्देश प्राप्त करना भी है। यह परमेश्वर का निर्देश है कि उसके लोग उसके साथ निरन्तर प्रार्थना के भाव में बने रहें; और हमने इसके कारण और लाभ भी देखे हैं। साथ ही पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि प्रार्थना में परमेश्वर के साथ जुड़े रहना उसकी शान्ति को प्राप्त करने का स्त्रोत, परमेश्वर की सेवा और उपासना का एक स्वरूप भी है, तथा प्रार्थना न करना, परमेश्वर के विरुद्ध पाप करना है। आज से हम प्रार्थना का उत्तर प्राप्त करने के बारे में देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

 

क्योंकि अधिकाँश मसीही यही समझते हैं कि परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना करने का अर्थ, परमेश्वर से कुछ माँगना है, या उससे कुछ करने के लिए निवेदन करना है, चाहे वह अपने लिए हो अथवा किसी और के लिए; इसलिए उनकी परमेश्वर से आशा भी यही रहती है कि वह उन प्रार्थनाओं का उत्तर “हाँ” में दे, और तुरन्त या शीघ्रता से दे। क्योंकि बहुधा ऐसा नहीं होता है, इसलिए लोग प्रार्थना को महत्व नहीं देते हैं, उसे केवल एक औपचारिकता पूरी करने के समान देखते हैं। लोगों में प्रार्थना के विषय व्याप्त इस भ्रांति की बहुत बड़ी जिम्मेदारी उनके धार्मिक अगुवों की है, जो उन्हें परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल से सुसंगत शिक्षाएं नहीं देते हैं, वरन अपने ही विचार अथवा अपने मत या डिनॉमिनेशंस की धारणाओं को बताते और सिखाते रहते हैं। हमने पिछले लेखों में इसका एक समाधान देखा है - प्रार्थना के वास्तविक स्वरूप को समझना; वह परमेश्वर से माँगना ही नहीं, उससे वार्तालाप में रहना, उसके साथ हर बात साझा करना है। साथ ही हमने यह भी देखा था कि जब हम परमेश्वर के आदर, महिमा, ओहदे आदि को, और उसके सामने हमारे अपने स्तर, बुद्धि, और समझ को ध्यान में रखते हुए उससे वार्तालाप करते हैं, तो स्वतः ही हम ऐसी बहुत सी बातों को, जो उसकी गरिमा के आगे अनुचित और गलत प्रतीत होती हैं, सोचते, बोलते या माँगते नहीं हैं, उनकी इच्छा नहीं करते हैं। अर्थात, परमेश्वर के साथ वार्तालाप में, संगति में बने रहने से हम स्वतः ही अपने शब्दों, इच्छाओं, व्यवहार आदि का आँकलन करके, सही और उचित को ही कहने वाले, और गलत तथा अनुचित को अपने से दूर रखने वाले बनते चले जाते हैं; अर्थात हम 2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18 को पूरा करने वाले, अंश-अंश करके प्रभु के स्वरूप में ढलते चले जाने वाले बनते जाते हैं।

 

हमें साथ ही एक अन्य बात का भी ध्यान रखना चाहिए, प्रत्येक वास्तव में नया जन्म पाया हुआ मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर के परिवार का एक सदस्य है। परमेश्वर प्रत्येक मसीही विश्वासी का प्रेमी स्वर्गीय पिता है। इस रिश्ते और पारिवारिक स्थिति को ध्यान में रखने, और हमारे साँसारिक परिवार में सामान्यतः होने वाले व्यवहार के साथ मिला कर बातों को देखने से भी बहुत सी बातें स्वतः ही स्पष्ट हो जाती हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, हमारे साँसारिक परिवारों में, जब बच्चे अपने पिता से कुछ मांगते हैं, या करने के लिए कहते हैं, तो आवश्यक नहीं कि पिता उनकी हर बात के लिए उत्तर “हाँ” में ही दे, या उसे तुरन्त ही पूरा करे। पिता का उत्तर “हाँ,” “नहीं,” “अभी नहीं, वरन उपयुक्त समय आने पर,” या “कुछ समय प्रतीक्षा करो,” आदि कुछ भी हो सकता है। ये सभी सही और उचित उत्तर हैं; और इनमें से कोई भी यह नहीं दिखाता है कि पिता बच्चे से प्रेम नहीं करता है, या उसके प्रति उदासीन है, या उसकी उपेक्षा करना चाहता है। पिता कोई मशीन नहीं है कि बच्चे ने कहा, और उसने तुरन्त वैसा ही करके दे दिया। पिता को बहुत सी बातों के बारे में सोच-विचार करके, जिनमें उस माँगी हुई बात के सन्दर्भ में बच्चे की भलाई, तथा उस बात के दूरगामी प्रभाव भी सम्मिलित हैं, निर्णय लेना होता है। पिता का “हाँ” न कहना, या तुरन्त उसे पूरा न करना बच्चे को बुरा लग सकता है, लेकिन पिता जो निर्णय ले रहा है वह ऐसी अन्य कई बातों को ध्यान में रखते हुए ले रहा है, जिनके बारे में बच्चे ने सोचा ही नहीं है, या वह जानता ही नहीं है। ठीक यही बात, ऐसे ही परमेश्वर से माँगी गई बातों के लिए भी मान्य है। परमेश्वर भी हमें “हाँ,” “नहीं,” “अभी नहीं, वरन उपयुक्त समय आने पर,” या “कुछ समय प्रतीक्षा करो,” आदि कोई भी उत्तर दे सकता है, और वे सभी सही और उचित उत्तर हैं। परमेश्वर भी, हमारा सर्वज्ञानी प्रेमी पिता होने के नाते, तथा ऐसी और कई बातों को जानते और समझते हुए, जिनके बारे में हम अभी कुछ नहीं जानते या समझते हैं, हमें उत्तर देता है। उसका तुरन्त और हमारे कहे के अनुसार न करने को हमें गलत नहीं समझना चाहिए।

 

कुछ मत और डिनॉमिनेशंस, यदि परमेश्वर द्वारा दिया जाने वाले उत्तर हाँ और तुरन्त नहीं है, तो उसे लेकर, प्रार्थना में परमेश्वर से माँगने वाले के विश्वास की गुणवत्ता पर प्रश्न उठाते हैं, कि उसका विश्वास पर्याप्त या सही नहीं है, इसलिए उसे सकारात्मक उत्तर नहीं मिला। इस सन्दर्भ में वे ये कहते हैं कि प्रभु ने कहा है कि यदि हम विश्वास से माँगेंगे, तो जो हम माँगेंगे वह अवश्य मिलेगा। यह प्रार्थना में परमेश्वर से कुछ माँगने और प्राप्त करने की गलत समझ, तथा विश्वास से माँगने की गलत समझ और शिक्षा है। अगले लेख से हम इसी विषय पर बाइबल से इस अध्ययन को आगे बढ़ाएंगे।

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 4 - Prayer (6)

In Acts 2:42 are given four things related to practical Christian living, and the initial Christian Believers used to observe them steadfastly. Therefore, they could stand firm and unwavering in their faith in all circumstances, were edified in their spiritual lives, and the churches also continued to grow. Of these four, we have already seen the first three, and are now studying about the fourth one, i.e., about praying. So far we have seen that praying is not only asking for things from God, or asking Him to do something. Rather, it is conversing with Him about everything, receiving help, guidance, and instructions from Him. God has said that His people should continually remain in an attitude or prayer with Him; and we have seen the reasons for this, as well as the benefits of doing so. In the last article we also saw that continually being in fellowship with God through prayer is the source of divine peace, it is a form of serving and worshiping God; and not praying is to sin against God. From today we will start considering about receiving answers to prayers.

Since most of the Christians think that praying to God means asking God for things, or asking Him to do something - whether for self or for others; therefore, their expectation is that the answer to their prayers should always be “yes” and if not immediate then without much delay. Since, quite often this does not happen, therefore people do not give much importance to prayer, and consider it as a mere formality that needs to be fulfilled. For this very prevalent misconception about prayer amongst people, it is their religious leaders who largely are to be blamed, since they do not give teachings truly consistent with God’s Word the Bible, but usually either keep preaching and teaching their own concepts and understanding, or the concepts and teachings of their own sects and denominations. In the preceding articles we have seen one possible solution of this problem - to understand the actual form and meaning of prayer; that it is not just asking for things from God, but to continually be in conversation with Him about everything, be continually sharing everything in our hearts with Him. We had also seen that when we converse with God bearing in mind His majesty, glory, and stature, in contrast to our own status, mind, and understanding, then automatically we hold ourselves back from thinking, desiring, speaking, and asking for many things that are inappropriate in light of God’s dignity and honor. In other words, by being continually in conversation and fellowship with God, we automatically become people who learn to evaluate their words, desires, behavior, etc., then stay with what is correct and appropriate, and disassociate ourselves from all that is incorrect and inappropriate; i.e., start fulfilling 2 Corinthians 3:18 - being transformed into the Lord’s image from glory to glory, or, bit by bit.

We also need to keep another thing in mind, every truly Born-Again Christian Believer is a member of God’s family. God is the loving heavenly Father of every Christian Believer. When we keep this relationship and family situation with God in mind, and keep comparing it to what is commonly seen in our earthly families, then many things automatically become clear. For example, in our earthly families, when children ask their fathers to get them something or do something for them, then it is not necessary that the father always responds with a “yes,” or does it immediately. The fathers answer can be “yes,” “no,” “not now, but at an appropriate time,” or “wait for some time,” etc., or anything like these. All of these are valid and correct responses; and none of these answers in any way indicates that the father does not love the child, or is indifferent towards him, or wants to ignore him. The father is not a machine, that as soon as the child expresses a desire, he will immediately fulfill it, just as the child has asked to be done. The father has to take into consideration many related things, has to think of the pros and cons of fulfilling the desire, has to consider the benefits or potential harm, as well as the immediate and long-term effects of granting that wish, and then come to the conclusion about it. The child may not like the father’s not saying “yes,” or not immediately fulfilling what was asked for, but whatever decision the father is taking, he is doing so after taking into account many related things that the child may not have thought about, or even know about. This very thing is equally valid and applicable to things asked for from God. God too can respond to our requests with “yes,” “no,” “not now, but at an appropriate time,” or “wait for some time,” etc., and they will all be valid and appropriate answers. God too, being our loving omniscient i.e., all-knowing Father, and knowing and understanding many things that we do not know or understand about, answers our prayers accordingly. God’s not immediately fulfilling everything we have asked for or not answering every prayer in “yes” should not be misunderstood.

Some sects and denominations question the faith and the quality of faith of the persons praying to God, on the basis of their prayers not being immediately answered, or not being answered in affirmative. In this context they say that God has said that if we ask for something in faith, then He will surely grant it, so we will always get whatever we ask for in faith. But this is a very wrong understanding and teaching about asking from God in faith. From the next article, we will carry on this study on this topic on the basis of the Bible.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

मसीही विश्वासी के परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा बढ़ोतरी के हमारे इस अध्ययन में, वर्तमान में, हम व्यावहारिक मसीही जीवन से सम्बन्धित बाइबल की शिक्षाओं का अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। हमने देखा है कि प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय में सात शिक्षाएं दी गई हैं, जिनमें से चार प्रेरितों 2:42 में दी गई है। आरम्भिक मसीही विश्वासी, इन चारों शिक्षाओं का लौलीन होकर पालन करते थे, और इन शिक्षाओं को “मसीही जीवन के स्तम्भ” भी कहा जाता है। इन चार में से हमने पहली, अर्थात, परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल का यत्न से और लौलीन होकर अध्ययन करने को देखा है। आज से हम दूसरे स्तम्भ अर्थात, संगति रखने के बारे में देखना आरम्भ करेंगे।

सृष्टि के आरंभ से ही, संगति रखना मनुष्य के जीवन का एक महत्वपूर्ण भाग रहा है। यह संगति दो तरह की होनी है, पहली परमेश्वर के साथ संगति, जिसके लिए परमेश्वर अदन की वाटिका में मनुष्य के पास आया करता था; और दूसरी मनुष्य की मनुष्य के साथ संगति। आदम की रचना करने, और उसे समस्त पृथ्वी तथा प्रत्येक प्राणी पर अधिकार देने (उत्पत्ति 1:26), उसके लिए एक विशेष वाटिका लगाकर उसको उस में रखने, और उसे उसकी देखभाल की जिम्मेदारी देने (उत्पत्ति 2:8, 15) के बाद, परमेश्वर ने कहा “फिर यहोवा परमेश्वर ने कहा, आदम का अकेला रहना अच्छा नहीं; मैं उसके लिये एक ऐसा सहायक बनाऊंगा जो उस से मेल खाए।” (उत्पत्ति 2:18)। यहां पर हम देखते हैं कि आरम्भ से ही परमेश्वर का उद्देश्य रहा है कि न केवल मनुष्य उसके साथ संगति रखे, वरन उसकी संगति किसी ऐसे के साथ भी हो जो उसके समान है। हव्वा की सृष्टि से पहले परमेश्वर आदम के सामने सारे जीवों को लेकर के आया, और आदम ने उनको उनके नाम दिए (उत्पत्ति 2:19)। लेकिन परमेश्वर द्वारा सारे जीवों को आदम के पास लाने के पीछे एक उद्देश्य और भी था; वह उद्देश्य था कि आदम को भी जता दे, तथा अपने वचन में भी हमेशा के लिए लिखवा दे कि परमेश्वर के द्वारा रचे गए सभी प्राणियों में आदम के तुल्य और उसका सहायक या साथी होने के योग्य और कोई भी नहीं है (उत्पत्ति 2:20)। इसीलिए हम देखते हैं कि सामान्य स्वभाव से मानव जाति एक संगति में या समूह में रहने की प्रवृत्ति रखती है। मनुष्य विभिन्न प्रकार के पशुओं को पालतू बनाकर या उनसे अन्य लाभ पाने के लिए उन्हें अपने साथ रख सकता है, और उनसे बहुत निकटता का व्यवहार भी कर सकता है। किन्तु परिवार केवल अन्य मनुष्यों के साथ मिलकर रहने और संगति रखने से ही बनते हैं, ना कि पशुओं के साथ मिलकर रहने या संगति से।

परमेश्वर का वचन हमें दिखता है कि संगति में या सहभागिता में रहना क्यों अनिवार्य है, और कैसे परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में इसके बारे में विभिन्न निर्देश और उदाहरण भी दिए हैं। हम “दस आज्ञाओं” (निर्गमन 20:1-17) में, जो परमेश्वर की व्यवस्था का निचोड़ या उनका केंद्रीय स्तम्भ हैं, देखते हैं कि पहली चार आज्ञाएँ मनुष्य और परमेश्वर के सम्बन्ध के बारे में हैं, और बताती हैं कि मनुष्य किस आधार पर परमेश्वर से सम्बन्ध बनाये रख सकता है। और अगली छः आज्ञाएँ, मनुष्य के मनुष्य के साथ एक मनोहर और सामंजस्य पूर्ण सम्बन्ध बनाए रखने के बारे में हैं; यह सम्बन्ध पारिवारिक, या समाज अथवा पड़ोसियों के साथ हो सकता है। राजा सुलैमान ने संगति के लाभ के बारे में लिखा कि किस प्रकार एक व्यक्ति दूसरे को उभार सकता है उसको बेहतर कर सकता है “जैसे लोहा लोहे को चमका देता है, वैसे ही मनुष्य का मुख अपने मित्र की संगति से चमकदार हो जाता है” (नीतिवचन 27:17)। राजा सुलैमान ने संगति रखने या सहभागिता में रहने के अन्य लाभों के बारे में भी लिखा “एक से दो अच्छे हैं, क्योंकि उनके परिश्रम का अच्छा फल मिलता है।” “फिर यदि दो जन एक संग सोए तो वे गर्म रहेंगे, परन्तु कोई अकेला क्योंकर गर्म हो सकता है?” “यदि कोई अकेले पर प्रबल हो तो हो, परन्तु दो उसका सामना कर सकेंगे। जो डोरी तीन तागे से बटी हो वह जल्दी नहीं टूटती।” (सभोपदेशक 4:9, 11, 12)। जब प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने अपने शिष्यों को उनकी पहली सेवकाई के लिए भेजा, तब दो-दो के जोड़ों में भेजा (मरकुस 6:7)। प्रभु ने अपने शिष्यों से यह प्रतिज्ञा भी की, कि उसके लोग जब भी संगति में जमा होंगे, तो न केवल वह उनके मध्य में होगा, बल्कि यदि वे एक मन होंगे, तो परमेश्वर उन्हें उनका माँगा हुआ भी दे देगा (मत्ती 18:19-20)।

इस संगति का, चाहे वह परमेश्वर से हो अथवा मनुष्य से, मूलभूत या मौलिक आधार परिवार है। परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों, अपने अनुयायियों, अपने चुने हुओं को अपनी सन्तान, और स्वयं को उनका पिता कहा है (निर्गमन 4:22; व्यवस्थाविवरण 14:1; 2 शमूएल 7:14; यशायाह 43:6; यिर्मयाह 31:9; होशे 1:10; 2 कुरिन्थियों 6:18; आदि)। इसी प्रकार से, हम सारे विश्व में मानव जाति में देखते हैं कि मनुष्य अपने परिवार के साथ एक प्राथमिक और मुख्य संगति बनाए रखने के प्रयास में रहता है, उनके लिए प्रावधान करता है, और अपने परिवार को औरों से बचाए रखने के प्रयास करता है। साथ ही परिवार से बाहर के किसी व्यक्ति के साथ कोई निकट सम्बन्ध या गहरे लगाव को व्यक्त करने के लिए, बहुधा पारिवारिक सम्बन्धों को व्यक्त किया जाता है, जैसे कि परिवार के बाहर के लोगों के लिए कहना “यह हमारे भाई/बहन के समान है,” या “यह हमारे पिता/माता के समान है,” या यह कहना कि “यह तो हमारे परिवार के सदस्य के समान है,” या यह कि “हम तो एक ही परिवार हैं” आदि। दूसरे शब्दों में, निकट की संगति को पारिवारिक भावनाओं के साथ जोड़ के रखना, उन्हें उसी तरह से व्यक्त करना, मानव जाति की मानसिकता में गहराई से बसा हुआ है।

अगले लेख में हम यहीं से आगे बढ़ेंगे और संगति से सम्बन्धित कुछ अन्य बातों को देखेंगे।

Things Related to Christian Living – 19

The Four Pillars of Christian Living - 2 - Fellowship (1)

As part of the study on the Christian Believer’s growth through God’s Word, we are now studying Biblical teachings related to practical Christian living. We have seen that in Acts chapter 2, seven teachings are given, four of them being in Acts 2:42. The initial Christian Believers continued steadfastly in these four teachings; and they are also known as the “Pillars of Christian Living.” Of these four, we have seen about the first one, i.e., diligently and steadfastly studying God’s Word the Bible. From today we will take up the second ‘Pillar’ i.e., “Fellowship.”

Since creation, Fellowship has been an important aspect of man’s life. This fellowship was meant to be two-fold - fellowship with God, for which God used to come down to man in the Garden of Eden; and fellowship of man with man. Having created Adam, given him dominion over every creature and all the earth (Genesis 1:26); having planted a special Garden for him and placed him in it to tend it (Genesis 2:8, 15), God said “And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him’” (Genesis 2:18). Here we see that since the very beginning it has been God’s intention that not only should man fellowship with Him, but should also fellowship with one “comparable to him.” Before creating Eve, God brought all the creatures to Adam, and Adam gave them all their names (Genesis 2:19). But there was also another purpose in God’s bringing all the creatures to Adam; it was to show to Adam, and have it recorded for all times in His Word, that amongst all the creatures created by God, there is none comparable to Adam and worthy of being his helper or companion (Genesis 2:20). Therefore, we see that mankind in general tends to live and stay in fellowship, in groups with each other. Man may have various kinds of animals as pets or for other benefits, and may even be closely attached to them, but families are only built in companionship with other humans, not with animals.

God’s Word shows us the necessity of living in companionship or fellowship, and how God has given us the necessary instructions and various examples for this in His Word. We see in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17), which are the core, or the gist of God’s Law, that the first four Commandments teach about the basis of man’s relationship with God - the basics of man fellowshipping with God. And the next six Commandments are about man’s having and maintaining a harmonious relationship with man; within the family, as well as in the society or neighborhood.  King Solomon spoke of the advantage of fellowship wherein one uplifts or improves the other “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” (Proverbs 27:17). King Solomon also emphasized the benefits of fellowship or companionship “Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.” “Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?”; “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9, 11, 12). The Lord Jesus sent out His disciples in pairs for their ministry (Mark 6:7). The Lord also promised that when His people gather together in fellowship, not only is He also there amongst them, but when they are of one mind, God will grant them their prayers “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:19-20).

The basic unit of this fellowship, whether with God or with man, is the family. God has called His people, His followers, His chosen ones, His children, and called Himself as their Father (Exodus 4:22; Deuteronomy 14:1; 2 Samuel 7:14; Isaiah 43:6; Jeremiah 31:9; Hosea 1:10; 2 Corinthians 6:18; etc.). Similarly, we see in mankind all over the world, that man tries to maintain a primary fellowship within his family, amongst his family members; and tries to provide for and protect his own family from others. To express a close relationship or attachment to others outside of the family, the names of familial relationships are invoked, calling the non-familial members to be “like a brother/sister,” or, “like father/mother,” or saying “he/she is like a family member,” or, “we are one family.” In other words, close fellowship and family-feelings are inherently interlinked in the psyche of mankind.

We will carry on from here in the next article, and see some other aspects related to fellowship.
