कलीसिया में अनुशासन – 2

 

पिछले लेख से हमने कलीसिया में अनुशासन लागू करने विषय पर विचार करना आरंभ किया है। हमने देखा है कि सभी विश्वासी, चाहे उनकी शारीरिक अथवा आत्मिक आयु कुछ भी हो, वे परमेश्वर के वचन में कितने भी दृढ़ और स्थापित क्यों न हों, कलीसिया में उनकी प्रतिष्ठा और स्तर जो भी हो, फिर भी सभी चूक कर सकने वाले मनुष्य मात्र हैं, सभी गलतियाँ करते हैं, और इसलिए सभी को सुधारे जाने और अनुशासन के अंतर्गत लाए जाने की आवश्यकता रहती है। कोई भी मसीही जीवन के इस आधारभूत तथ्य के ऊपर अथवा उस से परे नहीं है। अय्यूब, जिसके धर्मी होने की स्वयं परमेश्वर ने दो बार गवाही दी थी (अय्यूब 1:8; 2:3), उस पर जब परमेश्वर ने अपने केवल पक्ष - परमेश्वर की सृष्टि, के बारे में बात करनी आरम्भ की, तो उसे अपनी तुच्छ दशा का एहसास हो गया, उसने पश्चाताप किया (अय्यूब 40:4-5; 42:5-6)। यशायाह भविष्यद्वक्ता भी, यद्यपि वह परमेश्वर के नबी के रूप में कार्य कर रहा था, जब वह परमेश्वर और उसकी पवित्रता की उपस्थिति में लाया गया, उसे तुरंत एहसास हो गया कि वह कितना अशुद्ध और निकृष्ट है, वास्तव में परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में होने के कितना अयोग्य है (यशायाह 6:1-10)। प्रेरित पौलुस ने, वर्तमान काल में न कि भूतकाल में, पाप के साथ बने रहने वाले अपने संघर्ष के लिए व्यथा व्यक्त की (रोमियों 7:15-24); प्रेरित यूहन्ना ने “हम” के उपयोग के द्वारा यह दिखाया कि वह भी उनमें सम्मिलित है जो पाप करते रहते हैं और जिन्हें, जब भी वे पाप करें, पश्चाताप के साथ परमेश्वर के सम्मुख आना पड़ता है (1 यूहन्ना 1:8-10)। 

इसलिए, प्रत्येक नया-जन्म पाए हुए मसीही विश्वासी को, जिस कलीसिया और अपनी जिन सन्तानों की सहभागिता में परमेश्वर ने उसे रखा है, वहाँ पर परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होने के नाते, कलीसिया तथा कलीसिया के लोगों की उन्नति के लिये कार्य करना चाहिये। उसे परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा की सहायता और मार्गदर्शन में, किसी मनुष्य को नहीं बल्कि केवल प्रभु यीशु मसीह ही को अपना आदर्श बनाकर, केवल प्रभु ही का अनुसरण तथा उसके वचन का पालन करना चाहिए। ऐसा करने से वह परमेश्वर का भण्डारी होने की अपनी जिम्मेदारियों पूरी करने पाएगा, और कलीसिया की बढ़ोतरी तथा विश्वासियों की आत्मिक उन्नति में योगदान करने पाएगा। पिछले लेख में हमने विश्वासी के जीवन में अनुशासन की आवश्यकता के बारे में तथा उसे कैसे लागू किया जाना है, इसे बाइबल के उदाहरणों से देखा था। वहीं से और आगे बढ़ते हुए, आज हम इसी विषय पर कुछ और बाइबल के तथ्यों तथा शिक्षाओं को देखेंगे।

परमेश्वर जानता है कि प्रत्येक विश्वासी गलती कर सकता है और गलती करने की उसकी प्रवृत्ति रहती है। परमेश्वर विश्वासियों के प्रति धैर्य रखता है, और ऐसी परिस्थितियों में पड़ने के बाद उन में से बाहर निकालने में, उन्हें आगे बढ़ने और परिपक्व होने में उनकी सहायता करता है (भजन 37:23-24; नीतिवचन 24:16)। इसलिए, इसका यह अर्थ कदापि नहीं है कि जिस ने कोई गलती की है, वह अविश्वासी था या हो गया है, या परमेश्वर ने उसका तिरस्कार कर दिया है। न ही यह है कि अब वह परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं बोल सकता है, और न ही परमेश्वर उसे फिर कभी प्रयोग करेगा, आदि; ऐसे सभी तर्क झूठे हैं, बाइबल के अनुसार सही नहीं हैं। उदाहरण के लिए दाऊद, और ऊरिय्याह एवं बतशेबा के साथ किए गए उसके पाप के बारे में विचार कीजिए। उस पाप के बावजूद, नए नियम में दाऊद का 54 बार नाम लेकर उल्लेख किया गया है और उसे नए नियम में भी परमेश्वर के मन के अनुसार व्यक्ति कहा गया है (प्रेरितों 13:22)। उसके जीवन की इस घृणित घटना के बाद भी उसने भजन लिखे जिन्हें परमेश्वर के पवित्र वचन में अनन्तकाल के लिए स्थान दिया गया है।

इसी प्रकार से, कुरिन्थुस की मण्डली या कलीसिया के बारे में विचार कीजिए, उनकी आत्मिकता की दुर्बल स्थिति और मसीही गवाही की दुर्दशा के बावजूद, पौलुस में होकर परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा ने उन्हें फिर भी “परमेश्वर की कलीसिया” कह कर संबोधित किया है (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:1-2)। यद्यपि उस कलीसिया के विश्वासियों को शारीरिक और बालकों के समान अपरिपक्व कहा गया है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:1-4), किन्तु साथ ही 1 कुरिन्थियों 1:2 में उन्हें “पवित्र” भी कहा गया है। और ध्यान कीजिए कि उन्हें लिखी दोनों पत्रियों में से किसी में भी उन्हें कभी ‘अविश्वासी’ या परमेश्वर द्वारा तिरस्कृत नहीं कहा गया है, और न ही यह कहा गया है कि भविष्य में कभी उनका तिरस्कार कर दिया जाएगा। उनकी दुर्बल आत्मिक दशा और बुरे मसीही जीवन जीने के कारण परमेश्वर ने उन से न तो अपना वचन वापस लिया, न उन्हें और वचन देने से मना किया, न ही उन से उन्हें दिए गए पवित्र आत्मा के वरदान वापस लिए, और न ही उन लोगों का उपयोग करना बँद किया। बल्कि, पौलुस लिखता है कि परमेश्वर ने उन्हें और भी ‘धनी’ किया, उन में होकर मसीह की गवाही को और भी दृढ़ किया (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:5-8)। पौलुस उनकी आलोचना करता है, उन्हें उनकी अनेक और घोर कमियाँ दिखाता है, यहाँ तक कि प्रभु की मेज से सम्बन्धित गलतियाँ भी, जिनसे परमेश्वर की तीव्र ताड़ना उन पर पड़ी थी (1 कुरिन्थियों 11:30); पौलुस उन्हें सुधारता है, उन्हें डाँटता है, इतनी कठोरता से डाँटता है कि कुरिन्थुस के विश्वासियों को यह अच्छा नहीं लगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 7:8), लेकिन उन्हें कभी ‘अविश्वासी’ या ‘भक्तिहीन’ नहीं कहता है।

यह बात, अर्थात, एक परिपक्व या वरिष्ठ विश्वासी के द्वारा दूसरों को उनकी गलतियाँ दिखाए जाने का यह अर्थ कदापि नहीं है, और न ही कभी ऐसा समझा जाना चाहिए, कि उसका उद्देश्य उस गलती करने वाले विश्वासी को नीचा दिखाना है या वह उस विश्वासी का विरोधी है, उसका उपहास करना चाहता है। और न ही यह गलती करने वाले विश्वासी की, कलीसिया में सेवकाई, स्तर, कार्यों, और योगदान का इनकार करना अथवा अवहेलना करना है। पौलुस ने पतरस को, उसके पाखण्ड के लिये, सब के सामने कठोरता से डाँटा और सुधारा था (गलातियों 2:11-13), परन्तु इससे पतरस और पौलुस में आपसी मतभेद नहीं उत्पन्न हुए; बल्कि वही पतरस उसी पौलुस को अपनी दूसरी पत्री में ‘प्रिय भाई’ कहता है, और पवित्रशास्त्र की उसकी समझ और व्याख्या के लिये उसकी प्रशंसा करता है (2 पतरस 3:15-16)। दूसरे शब्दों में, सुधारे जाने के इस कार्य को उस विश्वासी के प्रति प्रेम और उसकी भलाई तथा आत्मिक उन्नति की इच्छा के रूप में देखा जाना चाहिए; उसे भजन 141:5 और गलतियों 4:16 के भाव में ग्रहण करना चाहिए। वास्तविकता तो यह है कि गलतियाँ न बताना, और विश्वासी को उन्हीं गलतियों में बने रहने देना, यह उसके प्रति गैर-ज़िम्मेदार होना है। यह, अर्थात उसे उसकी गलतियों में बने रहने देना, वास्तव में उसकी आत्मिक बढ़ोतरी और उन्नति में बाधा डालने के समान है, उसे बिना चिताए ही उसकी अनन्तकालीन आत्मिक आशीषों की स्वयं ही हानि करते रहने देना है।

इसी प्रकार से, यद्यपि हमें अपने अगुवों से सीखना है, उनका आदर करना है, लेकिन फिर भी हमें सचेत भी रहना है कि हम उनकी नकल और उनकी गलतियों का भी अनुसरण न करने लग जाएँ, जो वे, चाहे अनजान में ही, किन्तु कर रहे हों। हर हाल में, वह चाहे मण्डली का सदस्य हो, या अगुवा हो, अथवा वचन का कोई प्रचारक और शिक्षक, हर किसी को अन्ततः प्रभु के सामने खड़े होकर अपना ही हिसाब देना होगा (सभोपदेशक 12:13-14; रोमियों 14:12; 2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10), न कि किसी अन्य का। और तब, न तो कोई भी जन किसी अन्य के लिए कोई सिफारिश करने पाएगा, और न ही किसी अन्य के प्रतिफलों के दिए जाने के लिए प्रभु पर कोई भी, कैसा भी प्रभाव डालने पाएगा। तो फिर बजाए प्रभु का अनुसरण और उसके वचन का पालन करने के, किसी मनुष्य को प्रसन्न रखने के प्रयास क्यों करना, या मनुष्य पर और उसकी बातों पर अँध-विश्वास क्यों रखना? क्या किसी मनुष्य का अनुसरण करने से कोई लाभ होगा, यदि कुछ हुआ भी? 

इसके विपरीत, मनुष्यों का अनुसरण करने, उनकी बातों का पालन करने से, मनुष्यों द्वारा गढ़ी गई किसी-न-किसी गलती में हमारे गिरने की संभावना बढ़ जाती है। हमारी वफादारी हमेशा ही प्रभु और उसके वचन के प्रति होनी चाहिए, न कि किसी भी मनुष्य के; क्योंकि शैतान कभी भी किसी भी मनुष्य को बहका और भटका सकता है, और फिर वह मनुष्य उसी तरह से औरों को बहका और भटका सकता है। जैसा कि इन लेखों में अनेकों बार कहा गया है, यह प्रत्येक विश्वासी की ज़िम्मेदारी है कि जो भी प्रचार किया और सिखाया जा रहा है, चाहे वह प्रचार करने और सिखाने वाला कोई भी क्यों न हो, उसकी बातों को स्वीकार करने और पालन करने से पहले उन्हें वचन से जाँच-परख लेना चाहिए (प्रेरितों 17:11; 1 कुरिन्थियों 14:29; 1 थिस्सलुनीकियों 5:21), और पुष्टि कर लेने के बाद ही उनका पालन करना चाहिए। इसलिए, किसी अगुवे की शिक्षा अथवा राय से सहमत नहीं होना या उसकी बात, उसके प्रचार और शिक्षाओं की आलोचना करना, उसकी बातों को सुधारना, उसका विरोधी होने या उसके प्रति अनादरपूर्ण होने का चिह्न नहीं है। वरन, यह परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के आज्ञाकारी होने, तथा किसी के भी द्वारा बहकाए और भटकाए जाने के प्रति सचेत होने, हानि में पड़ने से उसे बचने के इच्छुक होने का चिह्न है। इसे भी भजन 141:5 और गलतियों 4:16 के भाव में ग्रहण करना चाहिए।

अगले लेख में हम कलीसिया तथा विश्वासियों में अनुशासन को लागू करने के बारे में और देखना ज़ारी रखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Discipline in the Church – 2

 

In the previous article we have started on the topic of implementing discipline in the Church. We have seen that all Christian Believers, irrespective of their physical or spiritual age, however well they may be established in God’s Word, whatever may be their status and position in the Church, everyone is a fallible person, does make some mistake or the other, and therefore everyone needs correction and being disciplined. No one is over and above this basic fact of Christian living. Job, about whose righteousness God had vouched for twice (Job 1:8; 2:3), when God began to speak to him about just one of His aspects - His creation, Job realized how vile he was and repented (Job 40:4-5; 42:5-6). Even the prophet Isaiah, although already serving as God’s prophet, when he was brought into the presence of God and His Holiness, immediately realized how vile and deplorable, how unworthy of being in the presence of the Lord he actually was (Isaiah 6:1-7). The Apostle Paul laments his struggle with sin, not in the past tense, but in the present tense (Romans 7:15-24); the Apostle John, through the use of “we,” includes himself amongst those who continue to sin and need to come before God in repentance whenever they sin (1 John 1:8-10). 

Therefore, every Born-Again Christian Believer, being God’s steward of the Church where God has placed him in fellowship with His other children, should work to edify the Church and the people of the congregation. With the help and guidance of God’s Holy Spirit, instead of any man or man’s teachings, he must make only the Lord Jesus and His Word his role-model to follow and obey. By doing this, he will be able to fulfill his responsibilities as God’s steward, and help in the growth of the Church and the Believers in their spiritual lives. In the previous article we have seen some things about the necessity of discipline in a Believer’s life, and Biblical examples of how it is to be carried out. Carrying on from there, let us consider some further Biblical facts and teachings on this topic.

God knows that every Believer is prone to committing errors and has a tendency of doing wrongs. God is patient with the Believers, and helps them come out of it, helps them to grow and mature (Psalms 37:23-24; Proverbs 24:16). Therefore, it does not mean that the one who has committed some mistakes, is, or has become an unbeliever, or has been rejected by God. Or that he can no longer be God's spokesperson, or can no longer be used by God, etc.; all such contentions are false, are unBiblical. Take for example, David, for his sin with Bathsheba and Uriah; yet in the New Testament David’s name has been mentioned 54 times, and he has again been called a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22). David still wrote his Psalms after this sordid episode, which have been included in God’s Holy Word for eternity.

Similarly, also think of the Corinthian Church, despite its sorry state of spirituality and Christian witness, it was still addressed as the Church of God by the Holy Spirit through Paul (1 Corinthians 1:1-2). Although the Believers of that Church were called carnal and immature (1 Corinthians 3:1-4), but in 1 Corinthians 1:2 they were also called “saints.” And note that nowhere in the two letters written to them, were they ever called ‘unbelievers’ or those who had been rejected by God, or, will be rejected by God. Their poor spiritual status and Christian living did not mean that God had taken back His Word from them or denied giving them His Word anymore; neither did God take back the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit already given to them, and was still active amongst them, was using them. Instead, Paul says that God had enriched them and given them spiritual gifts, has confirmed the testimony of the Lord Jesus through them (1 Corinthians 1:5-8). Paul criticizes them, points out their multiple and even gross shortcomings, even problems related to the Lord's Table that invited severe retribution from God (1 Corinthians 11:30); though Paul corrects them, even rebukes them severely, so-much-so that the Corinthian Believers did not like it (2 Corinthians 7:8), but he never calls them ‘unbelievers’ or ‘ungodly’.

This pointing out of one’s errors by a spiritually mature or senior Believer neither means, nor should it be seen as, or taken as insulting or belittling that errant Believer; or, that the one correcting him is opposed to him, wants to ridicule him. Nor is it denying the errant Believer’s service, standing, work, and contribution in the Church of God. Paul publicly severely rebuked and corrected Peter for his hypocrisy (Galatians 2:11-13); but this did not cause any breakdown of the relationship between Peter and Paul. Rather, the same Peter, in his second letter, addresses Paul as ‘beloved brother’ and praises him for his knowledge and expositions of the Scriptures. In other words, this corrective action should be taken as an act of love and of concern for the well-being and spiritual growth of the Believer, it should be taken in the spirit of Psalm 141:5 and Galatians 4:16. Rather, by not pointing out the errors, and thereby allowing the errant Believer to continue in his wrongs, is actually being an irresponsible steward towards him. It is tantamount to preventing him from growing and maturing spiritually by letting him persist in his faults, and letting him harm his own eternal blessings.

In the same manner, while we are to learn from our Elders and honor them, yet we should be careful not to keep copying them and emulating even the errors that the Elders might be making, even inadvertently. In any case, every person, whether a member of the Church or an Elder, or a preacher and teacher of God’s Word, everyone will be standing before the Lord to give an account of himself (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10), not of anyone else. Then, neither will any person be able to make any recommendations in favor of anyone else, nor will he be able influence the Lord in any manner about the rewards someone else should receive. So why go after pleasing or blindly following any person instead of following our Lord and His Word? How does following any man benefits us, if at all? 

On the contrary, following any man or their words only makes us more prone to falling into some man-made error or the other. Our allegiance must always be with the Lord God and His Word, and not with any man, since man can always be misled by Satan and can also mislead others. As has been pointed out on numerous occasions in these articles, it is every Believer’s responsibility to always first cross-check from God’s Word everything that is being preached and taught, no matter who is preaching or teaching it; and only accept and follow whatever is preached and taught after confirming it through this verification (Acts 17:11; 1 Corinthians 14:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:21). So, having differences of opinions and criticizing or correcting an Elder and his preaching or teachings, does not mean being opposed to him or being disrespectful towards him. Rather, it shows being obedient to God and His Word, and cautious about being misled by anyone and getting harmed. This too must be taken in the spirit of Psalm 141:5 and Galatians 4:16.

Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Voluntarily repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि क्योंकि अब बाइबल पूर्ण, संकलित, और लगभग सभी के लिए आसानी से उपलब्ध है, इसलिए परमेश्वर सामान्यतः, और मुख्यतः हम मसीही विश्वासियों से और सँसार के लोगों से बाइबल के माध्यम से संपर्क और वार्तालाप करता है। इसका यह अर्थ नहीं है कि परमेश्वर अब किसी से भी किसी भी अन्य तरीके से संपर्क या वार्तालाप नहीं करता है; निःसंदेह वह अन्य तरीकों से आज भी करता है। किन्तु वह जिस भी माध्यम से वार्तालाप करे, सिद्ध, सर्वज्ञानी, त्रुटिहीन, समय की सीमाओं से बाहर का परमेश्वर होने के नाते, अब अपने लिखित वचन बाइबल में लिखी बातों के बाहर कभी नहीं जाता है, कभी उस में कुछ जोड़ता नहीं है, कभी उस में से कुछ घटाता नहीं है, उसके किसी अंश को बदलता नहीं है। इसलिए यदि कोई परमेश्वर से किसी नए दर्शन या सन्देश को प्राप्त करने का दावा करता है, तो बड़े ध्यान से बाइबल में पहले से ही दे दी गई शिक्षाओं के आधार पर उसकी तथा उसके दावे की जाँच की जानी चाहिए। यदि दावे की पुष्टि बाइबल से होती है, तब ही उसके दावे को स्वीकार करना चाहिये, बाइबल के बाहर की सभी बातों को अस्वीकार कर देना चाहिये। 

बाइबल के स्वरूप और स्वभाव की समझ का यह निहितार्थ भी है कि जब बाइबल हम से बात करती है, जैसे कि वह उन से जो उसमें विश्वास करते हैं, उस पर भरोसा रखते हैं, करती है, तब वह परमेश्वर है जो हम से बात कर रहा है, हमें निर्देश दे रहा है, हमारा मार्गदर्शन कर रहा है। इस बात का परीक्षण और निश्चय कि हम से बात करने वाला परमेश्वर ही है, यही है कि उसकी बात हमेशा ही बाइबल के पूर्णतः अनुसार तथा बाइबल से पूर्णतः सहमत होगी। उसकी बात कभी भी बाइबल में लिखी बात से लेशमात्र भी भिन्न अथवा असहमत नहीं होगी; और न ही कभी किसी को उसे बाइबल, या बाइबल में उल्लेखित परमेश्वर के लोगों के जीवन, व्यवहार, बातों, शिक्षाओं आदि के साथ संगत दिखाने या समझाने के लिए किसी प्रकार के कोई विशेष प्रयास करने होंगे; परमेश्वर की बातें स्वतः ही बाइबल की बातों तथा शिक्षाओं के साथ सटीक और संगत बैठ जाएँगी।

बाइबल हमारे हाथों में विद्यमान असीम, अचूक, अटल, सिद्ध परमेश्वर का भौतिक स्वरूप है; परन्तु सावधान रहें, न तो इसकी पूजा-अर्चना की जानी है, और न ही इसके सामने सिर झुका कर इसकी उपासना-आराधना करनी है; इसे किसी ईश्वरीय स्वरूप में माने जाने के लिए नहीं दिया गया है। इसे हमें दिया गया है जिससे कि हम परमेश्वर और उसकी इच्छा के बारे में जान सकें, उसमें होकर परमेश्वर के साथ संपर्क और वार्तालाप कर सकें, और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य तथा भावता हुआ जीवन जीना सीख सकें; न कि उसे आराध्य के समान उपयोग करें चाहे यह कितना भी भक्ति या श्रद्धा पूर्ण क्यों न प्रतीत हो।

क्योंकि यह प्रभु परमेश्वर का भौतिक स्वरूप है, इसलिए यह संभव ही नहीं है कि कोई भी मनुष्य अपनी सीमित, चूक सकने वाली, बदलने वाली, अपूर्ण बुद्धि से इसे पूर्णतः समझ सके या इसकी थाह ले सके। जैसा कि बहुधा देखा जाता है, मनुष्य अपने ज्ञान, अपनी शिक्षा, अपनी समझ-बूझ, अपने तर्क-वितर्क, कई बातों के बारे में अपनी बुद्धिमता, आदि के आधार पर बाइबल की बातों का गलत अर्थ और व्याख्या कर सकता है, उनका दुरुपयोग कर सकता है, उन्हें अनुचित रीति से लागू करना सिखा सकता है, उन से या उनके आधार पर गलत शिक्षा और प्रचार कर सकता है। यह सब करते हुए वह व्यक्ति सँसार के लोगों के सामने बहुत ज्ञानवान और तर्कसंगत भी प्रतीत हो सकता है, उसकी बहुत प्रशंसा की जा सकती है, वह बहुत प्रसिद्ध और मानने योग्य भी समझा जा सकता है। किन्तु बाइबल की वास्तविक समझ-बूझ, ज्ञान, शिक्षा, और उनका सही उपयोग करना केवल पवित्र आत्मा के मार्गदर्शन से ही हो सकता है। सँसार के स्वाभाविक, उद्धार नहीं पाए हुए लोगों के पास कभी भी बाइबल की सही आत्मिक समझ नहीं होगी (1 कुरिन्थियों 2:11-14), और इसीलिए, वे कभी भी उसका उपयोग परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए, और उस तरह से नहीं करने पाएंगे, जैसा परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन के लिए निर्धारित किया है।

अभी तक के लेखों में परमेश्वर के वचन के सही स्वरूप, उसके इस स्वरूप के निहितार्थों, और इस पवित्र वचन के प्रति सही व्यवहार को समझने के बाद, अगले लेख से हम देखना आरम्भ करेंगे कि किस प्रकार से वचन के प्रति अनुचित व्यवहार और उसका गलत उपयोग किया जाता है। और विडम्बना यह है कि, यह बहुधा शैतान के बहकावे में आकर, परमेश्वर के प्रति समर्पित लोगों ही के द्वारा, अपनी ही बुद्धि और समझ के अनुसार श्रद्धापूर्ण प्रतीत होने वाली, गढ़ी गई बातों के द्वारा, अनजाने या नासमझी में, बातों की गलत अथवा अपूर्ण समझ होने के कारण होता है। लोगों को लगता है कि वे सही और ठीक कह, कर, और सिखा रहे हैं; जबकि वास्तविकता इसके बिल्कुल विपरीत और बहुत हानिकारक होती है।

 

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Implications of the Nature of God’s Word - 4

 

In the previous article we had seen that since the Bible is complete, compiled, and readily available to nearly everyone, therefore, now God usually and predominantly communicates with us, Christian Believers, and the people of the world through His Word The Bible. This does not mean that God no longer communicates with anyone through any other means; He undoubtedly does so through various other means even today. But whatever be the means He communicates through, being the perfect, inerrant, omniscient God who is not limited by time, He never goes outside of what has been written down in His written Word the Bible, never adds to it, never takes away from it, never modifies anything written in it. Hence anyone claiming to have any fresh or new revelations and communications from God should be carefully and diligently evaluated from the Word of God, on the basis of the teachings already given in the Word of God. Only if the claim is verified from the Bible should it be accepted; anything not already given in the Bible should be rejected.

The understanding of the form and nature of The Bible also implies that when The Bible speaks to us, as it does with those who believe in it and trust it, it is God who is speaking with us, instructing us, guiding us. The test of whether or not it is God who is speaking with us is that whatever God says or teaches or guides us about, will always be in complete agreement and accordance with what He has already given to us in His word The Bible. It will never, in any manner be at any variance from what is written in the Bible, and we will not have to make any special efforts in any way to make it sound or appear consistent with The Bible, with the lives, practices, teachings, etc., of God’s people in the Bible. We will not have to justify it in any manner to make it seem acceptable with the Bible; it will automatically and smoothly fall into line with what the Bible says and teaches.

The Bible is a physical form of the infinite, infallible, perfect Lord God in our hands; but beware, it is not for bowing down before it or using it as a deity in any manner. It is given to us for knowing about God and His will, for communicating with God through it, and learning to live life pleasing and acceptable to God; not for using it as a deity, however reverential that may seem to be.

Since it is a physical form of the Lord God, therefore, there is simply no way that any man can ever fully and completely understand or fathom it with his finite, fallible, imperfect mind. As is seen quite often, man, through his own intellect, his education and learning, his own understanding, logic, and wisdom about various things, can misuse, misinterpret, misapply, wrongly teach and preach the Bible and things of the Bible. In doing so, he may even appear very rational and knowledgeable about them to the people of the world, be highly appreciated and considered worthy of following because of it. But the factual knowledge, understanding, learning, and proper utilization of the Bible can only come through the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. The natural, unsaved people of the world will never have the correct spiritual understanding of God’s Word (1 Corinthians 2:11-14), and therefore, they will never be able to use it for God’s glory and in the manner that God has intended His Word to be used.

After understanding the true nature of the Word of God, the implications of this nature, and the correct behavior towards this Holy Word in the articles thus far, from the next article we shall begin to see in what manner improper conduct and behavior toward the Word, and its misuse takes place. And the irony is that, often being misled by Satan, this happens at the hands of the very people committed to God, through contrived concepts, that appear to be reverent, according to their own intellect and understanding, and often done unknowingly or due to an incomplete or improper understanding of related things in the Bible. People feel that what they are saying, doing, and teaching is right and proper; whereas the reality is diametrically opposite to this and very harmful.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

परमेश्वर का वचन – बाइबल और विज्ञान भाग - 1

परिचय

एक आम किन्तु गलत धारणा है कि बाइबल और विज्ञान परस्पर सहमत नहीं हैं, और बाइबल की बातें विज्ञान के समक्ष ठहर नहीं पाती हैं, क्योंकि वे सभी काल्पनिक किस्से-कहानियाँ हैं; निराधार बातें हैं। यदि थोड़ा थम कर सोचा जाए, कि विज्ञान क्या है, तो एक भिन्न ही चित्र हमारे सामने उभर कर आता है। विज्ञान हमारे संसार और सृष्टि की रचना और संचालन, सृष्टि के सभी कार्यों तथा कार्यविधियों का अध्ययन है। जैसे-जैसे नई बातें सामने आती जाती हैं, उन नई बातों के संदर्भ में पुरानी बातों और धारणाओं की समीक्षा, विश्लेषण, और पुनः अवलोकन तथा परिवर्तन भी होता रहता है। इस कारण विज्ञान सदा परिवर्तनशील रहता है - यही उसका स्वरूप है, यह एक जाना-माना तथ्य है। इसीलिये, विज्ञान के अनुसार आज जो सत्य है, कल किसी अन्य बात की खोज या किसी अन्य तथ्य के सामने आने के कारण वही असत्य भी हो सकता है, बदला और हटाया भी जा सकता है। विज्ञान के कितने ही सिद्धांत और बातें जो पहले तथ्य के रूप में बताए और सिखाए जाते थे, वे बदले जा चुके हैं। इसलिए विज्ञान की कोई भी बात कभी भी अपरिवर्तनीय, संपूर्ण, और अंतिम नहीं हो सकती है।

दूसरी ओर, परमेश्वर और परमेश्वर का वचन बाइबल शाश्वत सत्य हैं, अटल और अपरिवर्तनीय हैं, सदा एक ही थे, हैं, और हमेशा अनन्त काल तक वैसे ही बने  रहेंगे (मलाकी 3:6; इब्रानियों 13:8; भजन 119:89, 160)। आज तक न तो परमेश्वर में, और n पमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में कभी कोई सुधार अथवा संशोधन हुआ है; और न ही कभी उनका कोई नया या उन्नत संस्करण अस्तित्व में आया है। इसलिये एक बहुत साधारण सा प्रश्न है कि क्या कोई असिद्ध, परिवर्तनशील ज्ञान, जो स्वयँ अभी विकसित हो रहा है, जो स्वयँ अपनी ही कही बातों को गलत दिखाता और बदलता रहता है, क्या उसके आधार पर किसी शाश्वत, अटल, अपरिवर्तनीय, सिद्ध, स्थापित का आँकलन किया जा सकता है? क्या असिद्ध, किसी सिद्ध को गलत और अस्वीकार्य ठहरा सकता है? क्या ऐसा करना उचित और मान्य होगा?

परन्तु एक अन्य, सत्य किन्तु कम ही जानी तथा मानी जाने वाली बात यह भी है कि विज्ञान की बातों के आधार पर तर्क देने वाले सभी जन अब यथार्थ कहने वाले और सत्यवादी नहीं होते हैं। अब यह एक बहुत प्रचलित और सामान्य धारणा बन चुकी है कि जैसे भी हो सके विज्ञान के नाम पर  परमेश्वर के अस्तित्व का इनकार करना है, और बाइबल को गलत प्रमाणित करना है। इसलिए विज्ञान के बहुत से तथ्य, खोज, जानकारियाँ, जो प्रचलित धारणाओं के विरुद्ध हैं, उन्हें दबा दिया जाता है, उनकी चर्चा नहीं की जाती है, उन्हें प्रमुखता प्रदान नहीं की जाती है, और उनकी उपेक्षा की जाती है। आप स्वयं ही इसे जाँच कर देख लीजिये और “Evolution Hoaxes” अर्थात, “क्रमिक विकसवाद में छल” को लेकर आप स्वयँ इंटरनेट पर ढूंढ लीजिए, और आप विस्मित रह जाएँगे कि कितनी बातें छिपाई गई हैं कितने तथ्य दबाए गए हैं, और किस प्रकार से सही को दबा कर गलत को प्रमुख करने के द्वारा इस अस्वीकार्य धारणा को स्वीकार्य बनाने के प्रयास किए जाते रहे हैं, और अभी भी हो रहे हैं; झूठी और गलत जानकारी को “वैज्ञानिक तथ्य” बताया जा रहा है।

बाइबल के अनुसार, यह समस्त सृष्टि, जिसे अभी तक वैज्ञानिक ठीक से देख और समझ नहीं पाए हैं, और जिसकी जटिलता तथा बारीकियों को लेकर आए दिन अचरज में पड़ते रहते हैं, परमेश्वर द्वारा बनाई गई है। अब यह कैसे संभव है कि परमेश्वर की रची गई सृष्टि उसके ही विरुद्ध गवाही देगी? सृष्टि का अध्ययन सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर के अस्तित्व को ही नकार देगा? वरन, इसके विपरीत, सृष्टि तो अपने सृष्टिकर्ता के पक्ष में बताएगी; उसकी अद्भुत बुद्धिमता और कारीगरी की पुष्टि करेगी – परन्तु तब ही जब उसे ठीक से देखा, परखा, पहचान, और समझा जाए। यह बात बाइबल के साथ भी पूर्णतः लागू होती है। बाइबल अवैज्ञानिक नहीं है; और न ही सभी वैज्ञानिक बाइबल को गलत या झूठ समझते हैं। तथ्य तो ये है कि संसार के महानतम वैज्ञानिकों में से अधिकांश, जैसे के न्यूटन, फैराडे, रॉबर्ट बॉयल, जेम्स मैक्सवेल, बाइबल पर विश्वास करते थे; वर्तमान सदी के भी अनेकों वैज्ञानिक मसीही हैं। विज्ञान की बातें बाइबल की बातों को गलत नहीं प्रमाणित करती हैं। परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन बाइबल में हजारों और सैकड़ों वर्ष पहले अनेकों बातें लिखवा दी थीं, जिन्हें विज्ञान ने बहुत बाद में, या कुछ समय पहले ही पहचाना है। 

हमें बाइबल में लिखी इन बातों को पहचानने में सहायक होने के लिए एक आधारभूत बात का ध्यान रखना होगा - जिस समय और जिन परिस्थितियों में बाइबल की पुस्तकें, हजारों वर्ष पहले, अपने-अपने समय में लिखी गईं थीं, तब विज्ञान इस स्वरूप में नहीं था जैसा आज है, और न ही वैज्ञानिक शब्दावली, जो वर्तमान में आई है, प्रयोग हुआ करती थी। बाइबल की बातें सामान्य, साधारण लोगों के लिए लिखी गई थीं; ऐसे लोगों के लिए, जिनमें से बहुत ही कम शिक्षित होते थे, या किसी गूढ़ बात को समझने की क्षमता रखते थे। बाइबल की बातें उनके दिन-प्रतिदिन के जीवन और व्यवहार के संदर्भ में लिखी गई थीं, इसलिए उन बातों को लिखने के लिए उसी प्रकार की भाषा का प्रयोग किया गया है, जो उन लोगों के लिए सहज और समझ में आने वाली हो। बाइबल वैज्ञानिक सिद्धांत बताने या समझाने के दृष्टिकोण से लिखी गई विज्ञान की पुस्तक नहीं है। किन्तु फिर भी इन सीमाओं में भी परमेश्वर ने अपने वचन में ऐसी बहुत सी बातें लिखवाई हैं, जो न केवल जनसाधारण के लिए भी उपयोगी हैं, किन्तु उन में विज्ञान के रहस्य भी सांकेतिक अथवा प्रत्यक्ष रीति से लिखे गए हैं, और जिन्हें वर्तमान समय में पहचाना गया है, तथा बाइबल के ज्ञाताओं ने दिखाया है कि ये बाइबल में पहले से लिखा था। हम अगले लेख में ऐसी ही कुछ बातों को देखेंगे।

अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय पर चर्चा को बढ़ाते हुए, सृष्टि के बारे में बाइबल की कुछ बातों को देखेंगे। यही बाइबल, सृष्टिकर्ता परमेश्वर के आप के प्रति अथाह प्रेम, और उसकी इस गहरी लालसा के बारे में भी बताती है कि वह आप को पापों से मुक्त जीवन प्रदान करके और स्वर्गीय आशीषों से भरे जीवन में अपने साथ समभागी रखना चाहता है। परन्तु यह, वह केवल आप के स्वेच्छा से, परमेश्वर के पक्ष में लिये गये निर्णय के आधार पर ही कर सकता है। यदि आप इसके लिये परमेश्वर के साथ सहमत हैं, तो प्रभु यीशु के समर्पित, आज्ञाकारी, और प्रतिबद्ध शिष्य बन जाइये।

Introduction

There is a general misconception that the Bible and science do not agree with each other, and because what the Bible says are all fictional tales and baseless things, therefore, Biblical things cannot stand up to science. If we stop and think for a moment about what science is, then a totally different picture emerges in front of us. Science is the study of the origin and functioning of our world and the universe, of all the workings and activities of everything that makes the universe. As new knowledge comes up, through this study, the older things and concepts are reviewed, re-analyzed, re-evaluated and changed in the context of the new knowledge. Because of this, science is always changing - this is the nature of science, and is a very well-known and accepted fact about science. Therefore, what is true today, due to the discovery of some other thing or any other fact may become false and be changed to something different tomorrow. So many principles and things of science which were previously stated and taught as facts have changed, many have been discarded, others have been modified. So, science is never absolute, never final, and nothing it says can be taken as the “last word.”

On the other hand, God and His Word the Bible are eternal truths, unchanging and firmly established, what they were earlier, are the same today, and will forever remain the same for eternity (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; Psalm 119:89, 160). To date there has never been any alteration or improvement in God or His Word the Bible; and never has their revised and improved, updated version ever come about. This gives rise to a very simple, common-sense question: Any knowledge that is imperfect, always changing and getting updated, one that keeps showing its own things as incorrect and changing them; can it be used to evaluate and decide upon that which is perfect, firmly established, never-changing? Can that which is imperfect, decide that the perfect is wrong and unacceptable? Should such an evaluation and decision at all be considered appropriate and acceptable?

There is another, equally true, lesser known and even lesser accepted fact, that all the people who argue on the basis of the knowledge of science are neither honest nor unbiased, nor do they do so on the basis of the truth. Nowadays it has become a very common and general thinking, to deny the existence of God and falsify the Bible, whichever way it can be done and to whatever extent it is possible, on the name and basis of science. Therefore, many facts, discoveries, scientific information, which are in favor of God and the Bible, but against these popular beliefs and tendencies of denying God and the Bible, are suppressed, are not told and discussed, they are not given any prominence in reporting, and they are ignored as much as they can be. Check this out for yourself by searching the Internet for "Evolution Hoaxes", and see for yourself about the deceits related to the theory of evolution, and you'll be amazed at how many lies are told in the name of science, how many things are hidden, how many facts are suppressed, and how by suppressing the facts, the false has been made prominent and has wrongly been passed on as “scientific truth”. Many such attempts to falsify th Bible have been made in the past, and they are still being made even today.

According to the Bible, all of this creation, which scientists have not yet been able to see in its entirety, or understand properly, and whose complexity, vastness, intricacy and finesse continues to astonish them by the day, everything has been created by God. Therefore, how is it possible that God's creation will testify against Him? Therefore, it is simply not possible that a sincere and honest study of creation will ever deny the existence of God the Creator. On the contrary, the creation will always and only speak in favor of its Creator; will attest to His astonishing intelligence and workmanship – if seen, evaluated, recognized, and understood honestly and properly. This also fully applies with the Bible. The Bible is not unscientific; Nor do all scientists consider the Bible as incorrect. The fact is that most of the world's greatest scientists, such as Newton, Faraday, Robert Boyle, James Maxwell, believed in the Bible; Many scientists of the present century are also Christians. The words of science do not prove the things of the Bible wrong. God had many things written in His Word, the Bible, thousands and hundreds of years ago, which science has only come to recognize much later, or just some time back.

Regarding scientific facts and things and the Bible, one fundamental thing has to be kept in mind while trying to understand the things written in the Bible; that at the time and in the circumstances in which the books of the Bible were written, thousands of years ago, in their respective times and places, “science” did not exist in the form it is today; neither was scientific terminology present or in use, as it is today. The words of the Bible were written for the common, ordinary people; for people of whom very few were literate and educated, and very few had the ability to understand anything complex. The words of the Bible were written in the context of such people’s day-to-day life and activities, hence the kind of language that has been used to write those things, was that which was easy to understand and grasp by the people of those times. The Bible is not a book of science, nor was it written with a view to talk about or explain scientific principles. But still, even within these limits, God has written many scientific things in His Word, which not only are useful for the common man, but in them the secrets of science are also written in a symbolic or an indirect way, or even directly. And these things have been recognized in the present time by the Biblical scholars, who have made evident what was already written in the Bible, but recognized by “science” much later. We will look at some of these things in the coming articles.

In the next article we will continue considering this topic, and see some things written in the Bible about the creation. This same Bible, also speaks of the unfathomable love of the creator God for you, and His deep longing to give you a sin-free life and have you live with Him for eternity with heavenly blessings. But this is only possible on the basis of your voluntary decision taken in God’s favor. If you agree with God for this, then agree to become a surrendered, obedient disciple of the Lord Jesus.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

अपने जाँचने और परखने के निमंत्रण में अनुपम एवं विशिष्ट

 

       हम मसीही समाज के लोग बाइबल को ‘परमेश्वर का वचन’ कहकर संबोधित करते हैं; प्रत्येक धर्म की अपनी पुस्तकें हैं, और हर धर्म के मानने वाले भी अपने धर्म-ग्रंथों के लिए यही कहते हैं, कि उनके वे ग्रंथ भी ईश्वरीय हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त, संसार भर में साहित्य, दर्शन-शास्त्र, धर्म तथा धार्मिक व्याख्यानों, नैतिक शिक्षाओं, आदि से संबंधित कई पुस्तकें हैं जो बहुत विख्यात हैं, और उन्हें अपने प्रकार की अनुपम रचनाएँ कहा जाता है, यहाँ तक कि नैतिकता और धार्मिकता के लिए मानक के समान प्रयोग किया जाता है। तो फिर बाइबल में ऐसा क्या है जिसके आधार पर मसीही विश्वास में उसे ‘परमेश्वर का वचन’ कहा जाता है; उसे अन्य किसी भी पुस्तक अथवा ग्रंथ से भिन्न माना जाता है, और जिसके आधार पर कहा जाता है कि केवल यही एक पुस्तक वह पुस्तक है जो वास्तव में परमेश्वर का वचन है। बाइबल में ऐसा अनुपम और विशिष्ट क्या है, जो और किसी पुस्तक अथवा धर्म-ग्रंथ में नहीं  है?

आज के इस लेख से आरम्भ कर के हम बाइबल की कुछ बातों को देखेंगे जो इसे अन्य किसी भी पुस्तक से भिन्न, अनुपम, एवं विशिष्ट बनाती हैं, और इस दावे के पुष्टि करती हैं कि यही वास्तव में जीवते, सच्चे परमेश्वर का वचन है। 

 

1. इसे जाँचने के दावे में अनुपम

यद्यपि हर धर्म के ग्रंथ के लिए उसके परमेश्वर का वचन होने का दावा किया जाता है, किन्तु बाइबल ही एकमात्र है जो अपने दावों और बातों के लिए उसे जाँचने और परखने का निमंत्रण देती है। अन्य किसी भी धर्म में यदि उसके धर्म ग्रंथ को जाँचने, परखने, आलोचनात्मक विश्लेषण तथा तुलना करने आदि का प्रयास किया जाए तो उस धार्मिक समुदाय के लोग इसे उनके धर्म और धर्म ग्रंथ का अपमान मानते हैं, और कटु एवं तीव्र प्रतिक्रिया देने में संकोच नहीं करते हैं। संसार के इतिहास में ऐसे कितने ही उदाहरण विद्यमान हैं जब धर्म या धर्म-ग्रंथ से संबंधित बातों पर प्रश्न उठाने या उनका विश्लेषण करके उनकी मान्यताओं पर प्रश्न उठाने के कारण दंगे तथा जान-माल की हानि हुई है।

       किन्तु बाइबल ही एकमात्र ऐसा धर्म-ग्रंथ है जो सभी को आमंत्रित करता है कि उसे जाँचें और परखें। इस संदर्भ में बाइबल के कुछ पद देखिए:

• 1 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 5:21 – "सब बातों को परखो: जो अच्छी है उसे पकड़े रहो।" यह बाइबल की शिक्षा और आज्ञा है कि पहले हर बात, हर शिक्षा, हर धारणा को जाँचा-परखा जाए, और खरा उतारने पर ही उसे स्वीकार किया जाए। बाइबल अंध विश्वास करने को न तो स्वीकार करती है, और न ही बढ़ावा देती है। 
• प्रेरितों 17:11 – "ये लोग तो थिस्सलुनीके के यहूदियों से भले थे और उन्होंने बड़ी लालसा से वचन ग्रहण किया, और प्रति दिन पवित्र शास्त्रों में ढूंढ़ते रहे कि ये बातें यों ही हैं, कि नहीं।" यह पद बेरिया नामक एक स्थान पर मसीही विश्वासियों की एक मँडली में पौलुस द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन के प्रचार किये जाने के विषय में है। पौलुस नए नियम का बहुत प्रमुख और आदरणीय पात्र है; उसी के द्वारा नए नियम की लगभग दो-तिहाई पुस्तकें लिखी गई हैं। जब पौलुस ने बेरिया के मसीही विश्वासियों के मध्य प्रभु यीशु मसीह के विषय प्रचार किया, तो, जैसा पद में लिखा है, उन लोगों ने तुरंत ही उन बातों पर इसलिए विश्वास नहीं कर लिया कि पौलुस जैसा सुविख्यात परमेश्वर के जन ने उन्हें वे बातें बताईं और सिखाईं थीं। वरन, उन्होंने प्रतिदिन पहले जा कर पौलुस की शिक्षाओं को उनके पास उपलब्ध पुराने नियम की पुस्तकों और शिक्षाओं के साथ मिलाकर जाँचा, और जब पौलुस की शिक्षाओं को सत्य पाया, तब ही उनपर विश्वास किया। किन्तु साथ ही उनके द्वारा यह जाँच-परख करने के लिए उनकी कोई आलोचना नहीं की गई, वरन उन्हें अन्य यहूदियों से जिन्होंने मसीह पर विश्वास किया था, इस बात के लिए, 'भला' कहा गया। 
• 1 कुरिन्थियों 4:29 - “भविष्यद्वक्ताओं में से दो या तीन बोलें, और शेष लोग उन के वचन को परखें।” आज यदि किसी धर्म-प्रचारक के प्रचार या शिक्षाओं की वास्तविकता और मान्यता के प्रति कोई सन्देह करता है, और इसलिए वह यदि कोई सवाल-जवाब कर ले या कोई स्पष्टीकरण माँग ले, तो बहुत समस्या खड़ी हो जाती है। क्योंकि इसे उस प्रचारक का अपमान समझा जाता है, और प्रश्न करने वालों अथवा स्पष्टीकरण माँगने वालों की निन्दा तथा ताड़ना की जाती है। परन्तु वास्तविकता तो यह है कि यह बाइबल की आज्ञा है कि यह जाँचना-परखना और स्पष्टीकरण प्राप्त करना नियमित किया जाना चाहिये; उस सन्देश को सुनने वाले “शेष लोगों,” अर्थात् एकत्रित अगुवों और मण्डली के सभी लोगों को यह करना चाहिये। 
• भजन 34:8 – "परखकर देखो कि यहोवा कैसा भला है! क्या ही धन्य है वह पुरुष जो उसकी शरण लेता है।" बाइबल ही एकमात्र ऐसी पुस्तक है जो ना केवल अपने आप को जाँचने का निमंत्रण देती है, वरन उस परमेश्वर 'यहोवा' को भी, जिसका बाइबल वचन है, परख कर देखने के लिए आमंत्रित करती है। यह बाइबल की खुली शिक्षा है कि कोई भी आकर बाइबल के परमेश्वर के भले होने को जाँच-परख कर देख ले; इसमें बुरा मानने या एतराज़ करने की कोई बात नहीं है। प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने अपने आलोचकों को खुली चुनौती दी, "परन्तु मैं जो सच बोलता हूं, इसीलिये तुम मेरी प्रतीति नहीं करते। तुम में से कौन मुझे पापी ठहराता है? और यदि मैं सच बोलता हूं, तो तुम मेरी प्रतीति क्यों नहीं करते? जो परमेश्वर से होता है, वह परमेश्वर की बातें सुनता है; और तुम इसलिये नहीं सुनते कि परमेश्वर की ओर से नहीं हो” (यूहन्ना 8:45-47); और कोई उसकी चुनौती का सामना नहीं कर सका, कोई उसके विरुद्ध कुछ भी प्रमाणित नहीं कर सका, न तब, और न ही तब से लेकर आज तक भी। 

       इस प्रकार से हम देखते हैं कि बाइबल कभी भी किसी भी बात पर अन्ध-विश्वास की समर्थक नहीं है; बल्कि उसकी आज्ञा है कि पहले जाँचा-परखा और सत्यापित किया जाये, और उसके बाद ही विश्वास किया जाये - न केवल उसे जो बाइबल में लिखा है, परन्तु बाइबल के परमेश्वर के बारे में भी। संसार भर के सभी धर्मों, मान्यताओं, विश्वासों में, केवल बाइबल ही है जो साफ, खुला, दो-टूक कहती है कि आओ और जाँचो, और संतुष्ट होने पर ही विश्वास करो। बाइबल और मसीही विश्वास का यह उल्लेखनीय और अनोखा गुण इसलिये है, क्योंकि उसके अनुयायी पूर्णतः निश्चित हैं कि वे बिलकुल ठोस, अटल, और पूर्णतः स्थिर आधार पर हैं; जिसने समय की हर परीक्षा का सफलता  से सामना किया है, जिसके विरुद्ध, उसे झूठा प्रमाणित उसका इन्कार करने, उसे नष्ट कर देने के अनगिनत प्रयास हुए, परन्तु सभी असफल रहे। उसे नष्ट कर देने का प्रयास करने वाले स्वयं नष्ट हो गए किन्तु बाइबल और मसीही विश्वास न केवल बने रहे, बल्कि बढ़ते और फैलते चले गये। 

       यह केवल बाइबल अध्ययन के कौलेजों (सेमीनरी) में ही पाया जाता है कि इस प्रकार का बाइबल विश्लेषण एवं जाँचना परखना, पाठ्यक्रम का एक महत्वपूर्ण और अभिन्न अंग है, और छात्रों को बाइबल की बातों को परखने और जाँचने की विधियों की शिक्षा दी जाती है। साथ ही, यह केवल बाइबल अध्ययन के कौलेजों (सेमीनरी) में ही पाया जाता है कि बाइबल का अध्ययन करने वालों के लिए अन्य धर्मों की मान्यताओं की शिक्षा भी प्रदान की जाती है, और छात्रों को प्रत्येक धर्म के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी दी जाती है, कौलेज (सेमीनरी) की लाइब्रेरी में सभी धर्मों से संबंधित पुस्तकें भी रखी जाती हैं, जिससे छात्र स्वयं पढ़ सकें और जान सकें कि तुलना में बाइबल और अन्य धर्म तथा उनके धर्म-ग्रंथ परस्पर कहाँ खड़े हैं।

    जाँचने, परखने, स्पष्टीकरण देने का यह व्यवहार बाइबल और मसीही विश्वास में अनूठा एवं अनुपम है, क्योंकि न बाइबल और न ही मसीही विश्वास किसी को किसी छल अथवा कपट के द्वारा प्रभावित करने में विश्वास रखता है, वरन उसकी हर बात खुली, स्पष्ट, और अवलोकन के लिए उपलब्ध है।

    इसलिये, यदि आप को बाइबल, बाइबल के परमेश्वर, मसीही विश्वास के प्रति कोई भी सन्देह है, तो निःसंकोच होकर जाँचिये, परखिये, अपने सन्देहों का निवारण करवाइये, और उसके बाद, स्वेच्छा से बाइबल और उसकी बातों पर विश्वास करने का निर्णय कीजिये। यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Unique and Special in Asking to be Examined

 

We Christians refer to the Bible as the 'Word of God'; Every religion has its own books, and the believers of every religion also say this for their scriptures, that their scriptures are also divine. In addition, there are many books around the world relating to literature, philosophy, religion and religious discourses, moral teachings, etc. all very well known and appreciated. They are all called unique, and may even be used as standards to refer to morality and righteousness. What, then, is so different and unique in the Bible, that in Christianity it is called the 'Word of God'? On what basis is it considered different from any other religious book or text? On what basis is it said to be the only book that actually is the Word of God? What is so unique and special in the Bible, which is not seen in any other book or scripture?

From today's article, we will begin looking at some of the things in the Bible that make it different, unique, and special than any other book, and corroborates the claim that it really is the Word of the living, true God.

 

1. Unparalleled in its claim to be put to test 

Although every religious text is claimed to be the word of the god of that religion, the Bible is the only one that actually invites people to examine and test it for its claims and writings. In any other religion, if an attempt is made to examine, test, critically analyze and compare its scripture, then the people of that religious community consider it an insult to their religion and scripture, and do not hesitate to react bitterly and retaliate severely. There are many such examples in the history of the world when there have been riots with loss of life and property due to the questioning or analyzing and stating things related to a religion, or their scriptures, or because of questioning their beliefs.

But the Bible is the only scripture that invites all to examine and evaluate it. See some Bible verses in this context:

• 1 Thessalonians 5:21 - "Test all things; hold fast what is good." It is the teaching and commandment of the Bible that everything, every teaching, every concept should first be tested and evaluated, and only when it has been confirmed, it should be accepted. The Bible neither accepts, nor encourages, blind faith.
• Acts 17:11 - "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so." This verse is about Paul preaching the Word of God to a congregation of Christians at a place called Berea. Paul is a very prominent and respected figure in the New Testament; About two-thirds of the books of the New Testament are written by him. When Paul preached about the Lord Jesus Christ among Christians in Berea, they did not immediately believe what he preached because a man of God as famous as Paul had preached and taught to them, as the verse says. Rather, they first went every day to check Paul's teachings with the Old Testament books and teachings available to them, and only when they found Paul's teachings to be true, they believed them. But at the same time, they were never criticized or questioned for doing this examination and testing; on the contrary this was appreciated and they were called 'better' than the other Jews who had believed in Christ.
• 1 Corinthians 14:29 - "Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge." Today, if someone has any doubts about the veracity and applicability of a religious preacher's preachings and teachings, and therefore, raises some questions and asks for explanations or answers for them, then this causes a lot of problems. Since, it is seen as insulting the preacher; and those who have raised the questions or asked for clarifications are condemned and chastised. But actually speaking, the Bible commands that this evaluation and clarification must be done routinely by the "others," i.e. the assembled elders and the whole congregation listening to that message.
• Psalm 34:8 - "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!" The Bible is the only book that invites not only its own examination, but also to examine the God 'Jehovah', whose Word the Bible is. It is the open teaching of the Bible that anyone can come and taste the goodness of the God of the Bible; there is nothing to feel bad about or object to, for doing so. The Lord Jesus Christ openly challenged his critics, "But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God" (John 8:45-47); and no one came forward to face his challenge; none could prove anything against Him, and nobody has been able to, since then, to date. 

So, we see that the Bible never advocates a blind faith; rather it commands examination, evaluation, confirmation, and only then to believe - not only in what is written in it, but even in the God it speaks about. Of all the religions, faiths, beliefs in the whole world, it is only the Bible that says clearly, openly, and forthrightly, come and check, and believe only when you are satisfied. This unique, outstanding feature of the Bible and the Christian Faith is because of its followers being absolutely sure that they stand on solid, irrefutable, unshakeable ground that has stood the test of time and innumerable but always vain attempts to deny, disprove, and destroy it. Those who tried to destroy it, themselves were destroyed, but the Bible and the Christian Faith not just stayed firm, rather continued to grow and expand.

Similarly, it is found only in Bible Seminaries, the institutions of Bible education, that this type of Bible analysis and testing is an important and integral part of the curriculum; and students are taught methods of critically examining and evaluating everything the Bible says. Also, it is only found in Bible study colleges (Seminaries) that teaching the beliefs of other religions is also offered to those who study the Bible, and students are given detailed information about each religion. The library of these colleges also houses books on all religions, so that students can read for themselves and know where the Bible and other religions and their scriptures stand in comparison.

This practice of examining, evaluating, and clarifications is exclusive and unique in the Bible and Christianity, because neither the Bible nor Christianity believes in influencing anyone by any deceit or hiding any truth, but everything is open, clear, and available for perusal.

Therefore, if you have any doubts about the Bible, the God of the Bible, the Christian Faith, then feel free to examine and evaluate, and have your doubts clarified, and then voluntarily choose to believe in the Bible and its contents. If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
