परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल – 24

 

पिछले लेख में, यह देखते हुए कि शैतान परमेश्वर के वचन में फेर-बदल और बिगाड़ करने के इतने प्रयास क्यों करता रहता है, हमने बाइबल की कुछ शिक्षाओं और तथ्यों को देखा था और समझा था कि परमेश्वर के वचन को क्यों उसके परिशुद्ध, अपरिवर्तित, और किसी के भी द्वारा ‘बेहतर’ न किए गए स्वरूप में ही उपयोग करना है। और बाइबल की यह शिक्षा भी है कि वचन की शुद्धता और पवित्रता के स्वरूप को बनाए रखना है (व्यवस्थाविवरण 4:2; नीतिवचन 30:6; प्रकाशितवाक्य 22:18-19); क्योंकि हमारे हाथों में जो परमेश्वर का लिखित वचन है, वह प्रभु यीशु का ही एक स्वरूप है (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14)। और इसलिए वचन के साथ फेर-बदल करना, स्वयं प्रभु परमेश्वर ही के साथ फेर-बदल करने के प्रयास करना है। स्वाभाविक है कि ऐसा करने के घोर हानिकारक परिणाम होंगे। आज हम इसी विषय पर कुछ और बातें देखेंगे।

हम देखते हैं कि इस तरह से परमेश्वर के वचन में परिवर्तन करने की प्रवृत्ति हव्वा में विद्यमान थी, उस स्थिति में भी जब वह अभी निष्पाप थी। परमेश्वर के वचन को ‘आकर्षक’ या प्रभावी बनाने की यह प्रवृत्ति अदन की वाटिका से चली आ रही है, जहाँ पर हव्वा ने, वर्जित फल के बारे में परमेश्वर की आज्ञा को और अधिक प्रभावी और प्रबल दिखाने के लिए, शैतान को वह आज्ञा बताते समय, अपनी ही ओर से उसमें कुछ जोड़ दिया, कुछ ऐसा जो परमेश्वर ने नहीं बोला था। उत्पत्ति 2:17 और उत्पत्ति 3:3 की परस्पर तुलना कीजिए, हव्वा ने परमेश्वर के नाम में ये शब्द “और न उसको छूना” जोड़ दिए, यद्यपि परमेश्वर ने यह बात नहीं कही थी। उसके द्वारा इस तरह से परमेश्वर की बात में जोड़े जाने ने, उसके अन्दर की एक कमज़ोरी को प्रकट कर दिया, कि परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन करने में वह अपनी बुद्धि और मन का उपयोग करती है, बजाए उस वचन को उसकी शुद्धता में, जैसा परमेश्वर ने दिया है वैसा ही, पालन करे। इसके बाद शैतान ने उसकी इस कमजोरी का भरपूरी से लाभ उठाया, उसे अपने मन और बुद्धि के अनुसार चलने के लिए उकसा कर, परमेश्वर की सीधी और सरल आज्ञा के ऊपर अपने मन और बुद्धि की बात को रखवाया, और परमेश्वर की अनाज्ञाकारिता करवा दी। 

इसकी तुलना में, शैतान द्वारा प्रभु यीशु की परीक्षा के बारे में विचार कीजिए, जो हमारे लिए मत्ती 4:1-11 तथा लूका 4:1-13 में दर्ज हैं। प्रभु से पाप करवाने के प्रयासों में शैतान ने, वचन का गलत तात्पर्य से हवाला देने के द्वारा, परमेश्वर के वचन का दुरुपयोग किया। प्रभु ने भी उसे वचन से ही उत्तर दिया, किन्तु सही तात्पर्य के साथ हवाला देने के द्वारा। लेकिन यहाँ पर हमारे लिए जो बात महत्वपूर्ण और ध्यान देने के योग्य है, वह है कि प्रभु यीशु ने, यद्यपि वे स्वयं ही जीवित वचन थे, स्वयं परमेश्वर थे, उन्हें ऐसा करने का पूरा अधिकार था, फिर भी उन्होंने दे दिए गए लिखित वचन में कोई भी फेर-बदल नहीं की – न उसके लिखित स्वरूप में और न ही उसके अर्थ और तात्पर्यों में।

चाहे परमेश्वर को आदर देने के प्रयासों में, चाहे परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के अनादर के लिए, चाहे वह जान-बूझकर किया जाए, या अनजाने में, वचन में फेर-बदल का परिणाम एक ही होता है। मनुष्य अपने ‘औज़ारों’ से, अपनी बुद्धि, समझ, और योग्यताओं का उपयोग परमेश्वर के वचन पर करता है, और उसे ‘अशुद्ध’ कर देता है। अब इस ‘सुन्दर’ बनाए गए किन्तु अशुद्ध हो चुके वचन के आधार पर जो भी ‘वेदी’ बनाई जाएगी, वह अशुद्ध वेदी होगी। परमेश्वर का वचन भ्रष्ट कर दिया गया है, अब वह मनुष्य का वचन बन गया है, और इसलिए अब वह शैतान के विरुद्ध अप्रभावी है। आज भी, बहुत आम रीति से यही होता है, यदि प्रत्येक प्रचारक और शिक्षक के द्वारा नहीं तो अधिकांश के द्वारा तो होता ही है। ये धर्मी लोग परमेश्वर की कही बातों को, परमेश्वर और उसके वचन के बारे में शिक्षाओं को, जोर देकर, प्रभावी रीति से बताने के लिए, उन्हें आकर्षक बनाकर बताने के लिए, परमेश्वर के वचन में किसी प्रकार से कुछ फेर-बदल करने से हिचकिचाते नहीं हैं, और इस तरह उसे बिगाड़ देते हैं, भ्रष्ट कर देते हैं। उन्होंने वचन को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने के स्थान पर अनजाने में ही, अप्रभावी कर दिया है। हो सकता है कि ऐसे व्यक्ति के प्रचार और शिक्षाओं को सामान्यतः बहुत प्रशंसा और सराहना मिले, लेकिन उस से वह फल नहीं आता है जिसकी अपेक्षा की जाती है; लोगों की वाह-वाही और तालियाँ तो बहुत आती हैं, किन्तु लोगों के जीवनों में परिवर्तन या तो नहीं होते हैं, या फिर बहुत ही कम होते हैं। शैतान ने उसे परमेश्वर के लिए अप्रभावी और व्यर्थ बना दिया है।

परमेश्वर के वचन को इस तरह से ‘सुन्दर’ और ‘आकर्षक’ बनाने का एक और बहुत हानिकारक प्रभाव होता है। यद्यपि लोग, और मसीही विश्वासी भी, यही सोचते हैं कि वे परमेश्वर के वचन को ही सीख रहे हैं और उसी का पालन कर रहे हैं, लेकिन वे इस तथ्य से अनजान रहते हैं कि इस बिगाड़े हुए और भ्रष्ट किए हुए वचन का पालन करने; और बहुधा साथ ही उस व्यक्ति का अनुसरण करने के द्वारा भी जिसने अनजाने में ही परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट कर दिया है, वे लोग अनपेक्षित और अनायास ही, बहुत सी गलत बातों में डाले जा रहे हैं; और अन्ततः उन्हें व्यक्तिगत रीति से इसके लिए जवाबदेह होना होगा, परिणाम भुगतने पड़ेंगे। क्योंकि उन्होंने जिस बात का पालन करना आरम्भ किया है, उसे पहले वचन के आधार पर जाँचा और परखा नहीं, उसकी पुष्टि नहीं की, इसीलिए शैतान ने उन्हें बहका कर गलत मार्ग पर डाल दिया और एक मनुष्य तथा उसकी गढ़ी हुई बातों का अनुसरण करने वाला बना दिया। साथ ही, इससे मसीही विश्वासी परमेश्वर के लिए व्यर्थ और अप्रभावी हो जाते हैं, जबकि वे अपने आप को उपयोगी और प्रभावी समझते रहते हैं।

इसीलिए शैतान किसी न किसी तरह से परमेश्वर के वचन में कोई फेर-बदल करने के प्रयास करता रहता है, किसी रीति से मनुष्यों को भरमाने के प्रयास करता रहता है। क्योंकि वह यह जानता है कि ऐसा करने के द्वारा वह परमेश्वर के वचन को अप्रभावी कर सकता है तथा लोगों के, भक्त और धर्मी लोगों के विरुद्ध भी, उन पर हावी हो सकता है। और फिर वह इन दुर्बल हो चुके मनुष्यों को, परमेश्वर द्वारा मनुष्यों की भलाई के लिए बनाई गई योजनाओं और उद्देश्यों को बाधित करने के लिए उपयोग कर सकता है। अगले लेख में हम इस से संबंधित पौलुस के जीवन से कुछ बातों को देखेंगे, परमेश्वर के वचन में उसके द्वारा लिखी गई उसकी सेवकाई से संबंधित कुछ शिक्षाओं को देखेंगे।

यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों के लिये पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Altering God’s Word – 24

 

In the previous article, while considering the reason why Satan persistently keeps on trying so hard to corrupt and distort God’s Word, we had seen some Biblical teachings to understand why God’s Word has to be used in its pure, unmodified and ‘unimproved’ form. We had also seen that it is the teaching of the Bible that the form, purity, and sanctity of God’s Word be preserved and maintained (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19); since God’s written Word in our hands is in fact a form of the Lord Jesus Himself (John 1:1, 14). Therefore, tampering with God’s Word is tantamount to tampering with the Lord God, which quite naturally, will have very grave consequences. Today we will continue with the same topic and see some more about this.

 

We see that this tendency to modify God’s Word was present in Eve, even in her sinless state. The ‘beautification’ of God’s Word started off in the Garden of Eden, where Eve, in trying to make God’s command about the forbidden fruit, appear more emphatic and impressive, while stating that command to Satan, added something from her own side to it, something that had not been said by God. Compare Genesis 2:17 with Genesis 3:3; in Genesis 3:3; Eve, in God’s name, adds the words “nor shall you touch it”, though God had not said that. This addition to what God has said exposed to Satan a weakness in her, a tendency to use her own heart and mind to implement God’s Word, rather than use and obey it in its purity, as given by God. Then Satan exploited this weakness, appealed to this tendency in her, and enticed her to disobey God through using her heart and mind over and above obeying God’s simple straightforward command.

 

In contrast, consider Satan’s temptations of the Lord Jesus just before His beginning His ministry, recorded in Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13. Satan in trying to make the Lord sin, misused God’s Word against the Lord by misquoting it. The Lord also answered him back by quoting God’s Word, but in the correct manner. But the important thing to be noted here is that the Lord Jesus, though He was the Living Word, He was God, He had the full authority to do it, yet He never altered the already given written Word in any manner – neither in its text, nor in its meaning or implications.

Whether done deliberately and knowingly, or inadvertently and unknowingly, or seemingly as an attempt at honoring God, whichever way it is done, the result is the same. Man through his ‘tools’, through using his own wisdom, understanding, and abilities, on God’s Word, ‘profanes’ it. Now whatever ‘altar’ is built with this ‘beautified’ but profaned word, it will be a profane altar. God’s Word has been corrupted, it has become man’s word, and therefore has become ineffective against Satan. Even today, the same happens very commonly by most if not all preachers and teachers of God’s Word. In trying to be emphatic, impressive, and appealing about what God has said, about God and His Word, these godly people don’t hesitate in altering God’s Word in some way or the other, and thereby end up distorting and corrupting it. Instead of making it more effective, inadvertently, they have rendered it ineffective. While this person’s preaching and teaching might generally be well appreciated and applauded, but it does not bear the kind of fruit it was meant to; many people praise and applaud, but very few, if any people have their lives changed. Satan has rendered him vain and ineffective for the Lord.

There is another very harmful effect of this ‘beautification’ of God’s Word. Though the people and even the Christian Believers think that they are learning and following God’s Word, but quite unknowingly, by obeying and following this corrupted Word; and often by also following the person who inadvertently, unintentionally corrupted God’s Word, actually they are being misled into erroneous things; and eventually they will be accountable for this, as well as bear the consequences, individually. Because they failed to first verify and confirm what they started to follow from the Word of God, therefore, Satan could mislead them onto the wrong path, that of following a man and man’s contrived ways. This renders the Christian Believers vain and ineffective for the Lord, while they assume themselves to be useful and effective.

This is why Satan keeps striving to somehow alter God’s Word, by beguiling humans in some manner. Because by doing so he knows that he can render God’s Word ineffective and gain an upper hand against men, even godly men. And then he can use these weakened men, against God’s plans and purposes that God made for the good of mankind. In the next article, we will see some things from Paul’s life, some teachings he has stated in God’s Word about his ministry.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

शैतान यह अच्छे से जानता है कि परमेश्वर के वचन के विरुद्ध उसकी कोई सामर्थ्य नहीं है (1 यूहन्ना 2:14); परमेश्वर का वचन हमेशा ही उस पर और उसकी युक्तियों पर प्रबल रहेगा, उन्हें विफल और व्यर्थ करेगा । इसीलिए, जो परमेश्वर के वचन का पालन करेंगे, वे सुरक्षित, सामर्थी, समृद्ध, और सकुशल बने रहेंगे (व्यवस्थाविवरण 5:29; यहोशू 1:7-8; भजन 119:165; नीतिवचन 3:1-2), क्योंकि उनके विरुद्ध शैतान की सभी युक्तियाँ विफल रहेंगी। किन्तु ये बातें परमेश्वर के वास्तविक वचन के लिए ही लागू हैं, वचन के उस स्वरूप की आज्ञाकारिता के लिए जो कि वैसा ही है जैसा दिया गया है, उसकी शुद्धता और पवित्रता बनी हुई है। किसी के द्वारा दी गयी वचन की व्याख्या, या किसी के द्वारा वचन में की गई छेड़-छाड़, फेर-बदल, या बिगाड़ वाला स्वरूप अब परमेश्वर के वचन का शुद्ध स्वरूप नहीं है, इसलिए उस भ्रष्ट हो चुके स्वरूप के मानने वालों के लिए परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञाओं को लागू नहीं माना जा सकता है।

निर्गमन 20:24-25 में, परमेश्वर ने अपने लोगों, इस्राएलियों, से कहा था कि अपनी भेंट और बलिदान चढ़ाने के लिए वे जो वेदी बनाएँ वह मिट्टी की ही हो, या फिर स्वाभाविक प्राकृतिक पत्थरों की हो। परमेश्वर ने उन्हें उन पत्थरों पर अपने औज़ार उपयोग करने के लिए, अर्थात्  उन्हें तराशने और आकर्षक बनाने के लिए विशेष रीति से मना किया था “और यदि तुम मेरे लिये पत्थरों की वेदी बनाओ, तो तराशे हुए पत्थरों से न बनाना; क्योंकि जहां तुम ने उस पर अपना हथियार लगाया वहां तू उसे अशुद्ध कर देगा” (निर्गमन 20:25)। दूसरे शब्दों में, यदि उन्होंने वेदी के पत्थरों को तराशने और आकर्षक बनाने, का प्रयास किया, तो उसका परिणाम उसे अशुद्ध कर देना होगा; और परमेश्वर किसी अशुद्ध वास्तु को ग्रहण नहीं करता है। इस बात के बारे में परमेश्वर के वचन में निहित सिद्धान्त हमारे वर्तमान विषय के लिए बहुत प्रासंगिक है। यदि परमेश्वर वेदी के लिए इतना निश्चित था कि केवल स्वाभाविक प्राकृतिक स्वरूप की मिट्टी अथवा पत्थर ही उपयोग किए जाएं, उन्हें किसी भी तरह से, जिस स्वरूप में उन्हें परमेश्वर ने बनाया है, उससे भिन्न सुन्दर या आकर्षक बनाने का प्रयास न किया जाए, तो क्या वह अपने वचन के विषय उतना ही निश्चित नहीं होगा, जिस वचन को आधार बनाकर आज हम अपनी प्रार्थना और आराधना चढ़ाने की ‘वेदियाँ’ बनाते हैं? यदि मनुष्यों द्वारा मिट्टी या पत्थरों की वेदी को सुन्दर या आकर्षक किए जाने के प्रयास परमेश्वर को इतने नापसंद हैं कि वह उन्हें अशुद्ध करना कहता है, तो क्या वह अपने वचन के साथ, उसे अधिक आकर्षक, सुन्दर, और मनोहर बनाने के लिए की गई छेड़-छाड़, फेर-बदल, या बिगाड़ के बारे कुछ भिन्न सोच रखेगा?

मनुष्यों में एक बहुत आम प्रवृत्ति पाई जाती है, ऐसी जिसका हम मसीही बहुधा ध्यान नहीं करते हैं, किन्तु शैतान उसे बहुत अच्छे से जानता है, तथा हमारे तथा परमेश्वर के वचन के विरुद्ध बहुत प्रभावी ढंग से उपयोग भी करता है। जैसे पत्थरों को सुन्दर बनाने के लिए औजारों का उपयोग होता है, उसी प्रकार से मनुष्यों, मसीही विश्वासियों द्वारा भी, अपनी बुद्धि, समझ, और योग्यताओं का उपयोग परमेश्वर के वचन को और अधिक रोचक बनाए, उसे अधिक आकर्षक और मनोहर बनाने के लिए किया जाता है। ‘सुन्दर’ दिखाने के लिए किए गए इन बदलावों के कारण, अकसर, वचन में अनचाहे, अवांछनीय अर्थ और व्याख्या भी या तो जुड़ जाते हैं अथवा निहित हो जाते हैं। इससे फिर औरों के द्वारा उस वचन के गलत अर्थ लगाए जाने, दुरुपयोग किए जाने की संभावना बहुत बढ़ जाती है। अब वह परमेश्वर का वचन नहीं रहता है, बल्कि परमेश्वर के वचन के भेस में मनुष्य का वचन हो जाता है। इस अशुद्ध और भ्रष्ट स्वरूप में फिर वह शैतान और उसकी युक्तियों के विरुद्ध कारगर नहीं रहता है।

अगले लेख में, हम शैतान द्वारा परमेश्वर के वचन को भ्रष्ट करने और बिगाड़ने के प्रयासों में लगे ही रहने के कारण को, बाइबल के उदाहरणों के द्वारा, और आगे समझेंगे।

Altering God’s Word – 23

 

In the last article, while considering why Satan keeps striving to alter and distort God’s Word, we had seen some Biblical facts and teachings, and had understood about the importance and function of God’s Word in its pure, unmodified and ‘unimproved’ form. We had also seen that it is the teaching of the Bible that the form, purity, and sanctity of God’s Word be preserved and maintained (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Revelation 22:18-19). Today we will continue with the same topic and see some more about this.

Satan knows that he has no power against the Word of God (1 John 2:14); God’s Word will always prevail over him and his devious ploys and render them vain. Therefore, those who obey God’s Word, will remain safe, strong, prosperous, and secure (Deuteronomy 5:29; Joshua 1:7-8; Psalm 119:165; Proverbs 3:1-2), since Satan’s ploys will fail against them. But this holds true only for obedience to the actual Word of God, the Word as it has been given, with its purity and sanctity maintained. Someone’s interpretation of the Word, or someone’s tampered, altered and distorted version, is no longer the pure Word of God, therefore, one should not expect God’s promises to hold true for that corrupted version.

In Exodus 20:24-25, God had asked His people, the Israelites, to use the natural earth, or at the most the natural stones to build altars for Him to offer their sacrifices and offerings. God had expressly forbidden them from using their tools on the stones, i.e., shaping and carving the stones to make them appear beautiful “And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your tool on it, you have profaned it” (Exodus 20:25). In other words, if they did try to modify and beautify the stones of the altar, they would actually end up profaning it; and God does not accept anything profane. The inherent principle and lesson of God’s Word about doing this is very pertinent for our current topic. If God was so particular that for the altar only the natural earth or stones be used, without in any way trying to make them appear more beautiful or attractive than the form they were created by God, would He not be equally particular about His Word we use as the basis for the “altars” of offering prayers and worship for Him today? If God so disliked and disapproved of human ‘beautification’ of earth and stones, then, considering it “profane”, then will He think differently, if His Word is tampered, altered and distorted, in attempts to make it more attractive, appealing, and pleasing?

There is a very common tendency in humans, one that we Christians very often don’t realize, but Satan knows it very well, and also uses it very effectively against us and against God’s Word. Like using tools on stone to make them look better, man's, including even the Christian Believer's, tendency is to use his wisdom, understanding, and abilities to try to make God's Word appear more interesting, attractive, and appealing. In this process of modification for ‘beautification’, often unintended misinterpretations get added or become implied. Thereby, that word becomes prone to being misunderstood and being misused by others. It no longer remains God's Word, but becomes man's word being presented in the garb of God’s Word. In this impure and corrupted form this word is ineffective against Satan and his ploys.

In the next article, we will consider further, and understand through Biblical examples, why Satan persistently keeps on trying to corrupt and distort God’s Word.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

       हम पिछले लेखों में सुसमाचार को बिगाड़ने से सम्बन्धित शैतान की युक्तियों के बार मे देखते आ रहे हैं। पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि यह करने के लिए शैतान की एक बहुत कारगर युक्ति, जिसका उपयोग उसने अदन की वाटिका में भी किया था है, मनुष्य के मन में यह बैठा देना कि जो उसे अच्छा और लाभदायक प्रतीत होता है, उसे कर डाले, चाहे वह परमेश्वर की आज्ञा के प्रतिकूल ही क्यों न हो, क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने मनुष्य को सब कुछ नहीं दिया है, कुछ बातें रोक कर रखीं हैं। और मनुष्य उन बातों को स्वयँ ले लेने के द्वारा और बेहतर हो सकता है। इस विचारधारा के अन्तर्गत, शैतान मनुष्यों को झूठी और गढ़ी हुई भक्ति और उपासना की बातों में उलझा देता है। ऐसा करके मनुष्य यही सोचता रह जाता है कि वह धार्मिकता के कार्य कर रहा है, परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न कर रह है, धर्मी हो गया है; जबकि वास्तविकता इसके ठीक विपरीत होती है, और मनुष्य परमेश्वर को प्रसन्न नहीं, अप्रसन्न का रहा होता है, उसके निकट नहीं बल्कि उससे दूर हो रहा होता है। आज हम इसके बार में कुछ औ बातें देखेंगे।

       इसी संदर्भ में ध्यान करें कि मूसा को अपनी दस आज्ञाएँ देने के पश्चात, परमेश्वर ने अपनी उपासना और आराधना से संबंधित एक और आज्ञा भी दी, मेरे लिये मिट्टी की एक वेदी बनाना, और अपनी भेड़-बकरियों और गाय-बैलों के होमबलि और मेलबलि को उस पर चढ़ाना; जहां जहां मैं अपने नाम का स्मरण कराऊं वहां वहां मैं आकर तुम्हें आशीष दूंगा। और यदि तुम मेरे लिये पत्थरों की वेदी बनाओ, तो तराशे हुए पत्थरों से न बनाना; क्योंकि जहां तुम ने उस पर अपना हथियार लगाया वहां तू उसे अशुद्ध कर देगा (निर्गमन 20:24-25)। प्रमुख किए गए अंतिम वाक्य को स्मरण रखें - जैसे ही हम परमेश्वर की दी गई बातों में अपनी युक्तियाँ और कार्य लगाकर उसे और अधिक बेहतर या सुंदर बनाने का प्रयास करते हैं, हम उसे अशुद्ध कर देते हैं। फिर वे देखने में चाहे कितनी भी सुंदर और आकर्षक हों, लोगों को चाहे कितनी भी अच्छी प्रतीत हों और लोगों द्वारा उन की चाहे जितनी भी प्रशंसा की जाए, किन्तु परमेश्वर की वे बातें परमेश्वर के लिए उपयोगिता और उसके परमेश्वर को ग्रहण होने में वह व्यर्थ हो जाती हैं।

       हम इससे पहले के विषयों के लेखों में देख चुके हैं कि शैतान ने, झूठे प्रेरित और धर्म के सेवक बनकर प्रभु यीशु मसीह, परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा, और पवित्र आत्मा के कार्यों तथा वरदानों के बारे में बहुत सी गलत शिक्षाएं, उन्हें बहुत आकर्षक एवं चाहने योग्य बनाकर, लोगों में फैला रखी हैं, उन्हीं में लोगों को भरमाता भटकाता रहता है, बाइबल से बाहर की झूठी बातों में मगन बनाए रखता है। उन गलत शिक्षाओं में बहकाए जाने के कारण लोग अपने पापी होने को पहचानने, पापों से पश्चाताप के लिए कायल होने से बाधित रहते हैं और गलत बातों के निर्वाह में लगे रहते हैं, यह समझते हुए कि हम धर्मी और उद्धार पाए हुए हैं। प्रेरितों 2 अध्याय इसका बहुत उत्तम उदाहरण है। पिन्तेकुस्त के दिन जब पवित्र आत्मा की सामर्थ्य से प्रभु के शिष्य भर गए, और फिर जब पतरस ने प्रचार किया, वह उस समय वहाँ एकत्रित “भक्त यहूदियों” (प्रेरितों 2:5) के मध्य किया गया था; अर्थात परमेश्वर की चुनी हुई प्रजा के भक्त लोगों के मध्य जो व्यवस्था के अनुसार परमेश्वर की उपासना करने के लिए पृथ्वी भर के अनेकों स्थानों से आए हुए थे। किन्तु पवित्र आत्मा की अगुवाई में पतरस द्वारा उन्हें भी किए गए प्रचार से उनके हृदय छिद गए, उन्हें भी अपनी पापी दशा का बोध हुआ, और पतरस ने उन्हें सुसमाचार, पश्चाताप करने और प्रभु यीशु मसीह पर विश्वास करने का ही संदेश दिया (प्रेरितों 2:37-38), जिससे लगभग 3000 लोगों ने उद्धार पाया (प्रेरितों 2:41)। अर्थात, जैसे कि हम पहले देख चुके हैं, जबकि व्यवस्था और पवित्र शास्त्र प्रभु यीशु मसीह की गवाही देते थे, उद्धारकर्ता के बारे में बताते थे, किन्तु शैतान ने उन लोगों की समझ और आँखों को अंधा कर रखा था कि वे सही बात को देख और समझ न सकें, प्रभु यीशु की वास्तविकता को स्वीकार न करें। सुसमाचार की ज्योति ने जिनके इस अंधकार को हटाया, वे फिर उद्धारकर्ता को भी पहचान सके और उन्होंने उद्धार भी पाया (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:4; इफिसियों 2:2; 4:18; कुलुस्सियों 1:12-13)। शैतान हमें व्यर्थ की बातों में उलझा कर, सुसमाचार को पहचानने और मानने से बाधित करके रखता है, जब तक कि कोई वास्तविक शुद्ध सुसमाचार के द्वारा उसके अंधकार को हटा कर हमें प्रभु यीशु की ज्योति में न ले आए।

       अगले लेख में हम शैतान द्वारा फैलाई जाने वाली सुसमाचार से संबंधित आम गलत शिक्षाओं को देखेंगे। यदि आप एक मसीही विश्वासी हैं, तो आपके लिए यह जानना और समझना अति-आवश्यक है कि आप प्रभु परमेश्वर के सुसमाचार से संबंधित किसी गलत शिक्षाओं या धारणाओं में न पड़े हों। यह सुनिश्चित कर लीजिए कि आपने सच्चे सुसमाचार पर सच्चा विश्वास किया है, आप सच्चे पश्चाताप और समर्पण तथा सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु से पापों की क्षमा के द्वारा परमेश्वर के जन बने हैं। न खुद भरमाए जाएं, और न ही आपके द्वारा कोई और भरमाया जाए। लोगों द्वारा कही जाने वाली ही नहीं, वरन वचन में लिखी हुई बातों पर ध्यान दें, और लोगों की बातों को वचन की बातों से मिला कर जाँचें और परखें, यदि सही हों, तब ही उन्हें मानें, अन्यथा अस्वीकार कर दें।

       यदि आपने अभी तक प्रभु की शिष्यता को स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी उसके पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। यदि आपने अभी तक नया जन्म, उद्धार नहीं पाया है, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा नहीं माँगी है, तो अभी आपके पास समय और अवसर है कि यह कर लें। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” परमेश्वर आपके साथ संगति रखने की बहुत लालसा रखता है तथा आपको आशीषित देखना चाहता है, लेकिन इसे सम्भव करना आपका व्यक्तिगत निर्णय है। सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी। क्या आप अभी समय और अवसर होते हुए, इस प्रार्थना को नहीं करेंगे? निर्णय आपका है।

Rendering the Gospel Ineffective (2)

       Since the previous articles we have been seeing the ploys that Satan uses to corrupt the gospel. in the last article we had seen that one very effective ploy that Satan uses to do this, one that he also used in the Garden of Eden, is that he makes people believe to go ahead and do what seems good and beneficial to them, even if it is contrary to what God has said; since God has not given everything to man, but has held somethings back from man. By going ahead and acquiring those things on his own, man can become far better. Under this thinking, Satan beguiles and entangles man in false things and contrived godliness. By doing those things, man keeps believing that he is being religious, is doing things of righteousness, and is pleasing God; whereas, the reality is just the opposite, and man instead of pleasing God has earned God's displeasure, instead of drawing near to God, has moved further away from Him. Today we will see some more about this.

    In the same context, also remember that after giving His ‘Ten Commandments’ to Moses, God gave another instruction regarding His veneration and worship, An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name, I will come to you, and I will bless you. And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your tool on it, you have profaned it (Exodus 20:24-25). Ponder over the last sentence, made bold, in this passage. The moment we try to improve upon and make the things made and given by God to be better and more attractive, we end up not improving but ‘profaning’ them. After this, they may appear very nice, attractive, and desirable; people may appreciate and praise them, but so far as God and the utility of those things for God is concerned, those things have now become vain, infructuous.

       We have seen in the earlier articles that Satan, coming in the form of false apostles and ministers of righteousness, in very appealing and desirable manner has spread many wrong doctrines and false teachings about the Lord Jesus, God the Holy Spirit, and about the works and gifts of the Holy Spirit, amongst the people, and through them he keeps deceiving and misleading the people, keeping them occupied in unBiblical, false things. Because of being beguiled by those false teachings, people are unable to see their actual sinful state, are not truly convicted for their sins, do not really repent for their sins, and keep doing wrong things, all the time believing and thinking that they are righteous and saved. Act chapter 2 is a very good example of this. On the day of Pentecost, when the disciples were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, and when Peter preached, all of this happened amongst the “devout Jews” (Acts 2:5) gathered in Jerusalem, i.e., amongst the chosen people of God who had come from all over the world to venerate and worship the Lord God in the manner prescribed in God’s Law. But through the gospel message given to them by Peter by the power of the Holy Spirit, they were convicted of their sinful condition; they too realized that despite their being devout and fulfilling the Law, they had not yet become acceptable to God. To them too, Peter preached the Gospel of repentance from sins and believing in the Lord Jesus to be saved (Acts 2:37-38); by doing so about 3000 people were saved (Acts 2:41). As we have said above, although the Law and Scriptures spoke about the Lord Jesus, witnessed for Him, but Satan had blinded their eyes and they could neither see, nor believe and understand the truth, nor could they accept the reality of the Lord Jesus. When the light of the Gospel shone through this spiritual darkness, then those who could see the Savior Lord Jesus and understand about salvation through faith in Him, they believed and were saved (2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2; 4:18; Colossians 1:12-13). Satan keeps us entangled in vain things, prevents us from seeing, understanding, and believing in the Gospel; and this is only rectified when someone shines the light of the true and pure Gospel and leads us into the light of the Lord Jesus.

       In the next article we will look at some of the wrong teachings about the Gospel commonly spread by Satan. If you are a Christian Believer, then it is very essential for you to know and learn that you do not get beguiled and misled into wrong teachings and doctrines about the Holy Spirit; neither should you get deceived, nor should anyone else be deceived through you. Take note of the things written in God’s Word, not on things spoken by the people; always cross-check and verify all messages and teachings from the Word of God. If you have already been entangled in wrong teachings, then by cross-checking and verifying them from the Word of God, hold to only that which is the truth, follow it, and reject the rest.

       If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord Jesus, then take a decision in its favor now to secure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. The Lord's security and blessings are present where there is obedience of the Lord, where His Word is honored and followed. If you are still not Born Again, have not obtained salvation, or have not asked the Lord Jesus for forgiveness for your sins, then you have the time and opportunity to do so right now. Ask the Lord Jesus to forgive your sins, and voluntarily and sincerely surrender yourselves into His hands - this is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. All you have to do is say a short prayer, voluntarily and with a sincere heart, with heartfelt repentance for your sins, and a fully submissive attitude. You can do this in this manner, “Lord Jesus, I confess that I have disobeyed You, and have knowingly or unknowingly, in mind, in thought, in attitude, and in deeds, committed sins. I believe that you have fully borne the punishment of my sins by your sacrifice on the cross, and have paid the full price of those sins for all eternity. Please forgive my sins, change my heart and mind towards you, and make me your disciple, take me with you." God longs for your company and wants to see you blessed, but to make this possible, is your personal decision. One prayer said with a sincere and surrendered heart will turn your present and future, your life here on earth and in the next world, forever and make you heavenly and blessed. Will you not say this prayer now, while you have the time and opportunity to do so? The decision is yours.

    हम बाइबल में से सुसमाचार से सम्बन्धित शिक्षाओं को सीख रहे हैं, और पिछले लेख में हमने देखा था कि वह सुसमाचार जो 1 कुरिन्थियों 15:1-4 में और गलतियों 1:4 में लिखा गया है, वही परिशुद्ध सुसमाचार है, वही पवित्र शास्त्र के अनुसार है, और वही परमेश्वर के द्वारा मानवजाति के उद्धार के लिए दिया गया है। यही वह सुसमाचार है जो सभी समयों, स्थानों, व्यक्तियों, परिस्थितियों आदि में कार्यकारी और प्रभावी है; इसी में लोगों को उनके पापों के लिए कायल करने और उन्हें परिवर्तित करने की सामर्थ्य है। इसे और सामर्थी या प्रभावी बनाने की या किसी भी अन्य कारण से इसमें और कुछ भी जोड़ने की, या इसे किसी भी तरह से सुधारने या बदलने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। हमने गलतियों 1:4-9 से देखा है कि किसी को भी, वह चाहे स्वर्गदूत हो अथवा प्रभु यीशु का प्रेरित, सुसमाचार में कोई भी बदलाव लाने का कोई अधिकार, कोई अनुमति नहीं है; ऐसा करने को सुसमाचार को बिगाड़ना कहा गया है, और जो यह करते हैं, उन्हें श्रापित कहा गया है। शैतान का निरन्तर यह प्रयास रहता है कि लोगों से अपनी बुद्धि और समझ के द्वारा सुसमाचार में कुछ बदलाव करवाए या उस में और कुछ जोड़े, बहुधा उसे और अधिक आकर्षक, या मनोहर बनाने के लिए, अथवा तात्कालिक परिस्थिति के अनुसार प्रासंगिक करने के लिए; किन्तु जैसा हमने 1 कुरिन्थियों 1:17 से देखा है, इससे  सुसमाचार केवल अप्रभावी ही होता है, न कि किसी भी रीति से उसके प्रभावी होने में कोई बढ़ोतरी होती है। आज हम कुछ शैतानी युक्तियों को देखेंगे जिनके द्वारा सुसमाचार बिगाड़ा जाता है और अप्रभावी किया जाता है।

    एक तो हम पिछले लेख में भी देख ही चुके हैं, और उसका उल्लेख ऊपर भी किया गया है, अर्थात सुसमाचार में मानवीय बुद्धि और समझ की बातें मिलाना (1 कुरिन्थियों 1:17) जिससे कि वह मनोहर और आकर्षक, परिस्थिति के लिए प्रासंगिक बन सके। किन्तु इससे वह साथ ही अप्रभावी भी हो जाता है।

    सुसमाचार को बिगाड़ने के लिए शैतान की एक और युक्ति है कि या तो उसे भले और धार्मिक कार्यों पर आधारित दिखाए, अर्थात भले बनो और भले कार्य करो तथा धार्मिक निर्देशों का पालन करो, और ऐसा कर के स्वयं को परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य बनाओ, और फिर उसके पास उससे उद्धार प्राप्त करने के लिए जाओ। इस में अनकही और छुपी हुई हानि की बात यह है कि परमेश्वर का वचन स्पष्ट कहता है कि कोई भी मनुष्य, किसी भी प्रकार के कार्यों के द्वारा, कभी भी परमेश्वर को ग्रहण योग्य होने योग्य भला नहीं हो सकता है (अय्यूब 14:4; 15:14-16; 25:4; यशायाह 64:6); और इसलिए, जो लोग इस विचारधारा के अनुसार चलते हैं वे कभी भी उद्धार पाने के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं बनने पाएँगे, और अपने पापों में ही मर जाएँगे। ऐसे बिगाड़े जाने का एक अन्य स्वरूप है कि प्रभु यीशु में विश्वास लाने के साथ भले कार्यों और धार्मिक बातों के निर्वाह की अनिवार्यता को भी जोड़ देना। इसका अभिप्राय यह है कि प्रभु यीशु का बलिदान मानवजाति के पापों का निवारण करने के लिए पर्याप्त नहीं है, और इसमें मनुष्य के भले एवं धार्मिक कामों का भी जोड़ा जाना आवश्यक है, तभी उद्धार प्राप्त होने पाएगा। जैसा हमने अभी देखा है, मनुष्य कभी भी किसी भी प्रकार के धार्मिक या भले कार्यों के द्वारा उद्धार पाने के लिए परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य नहीं हो सकता है, तो फिर मनुष्य के ये भले और धार्मिक कार्य उद्धार देने के लिए परमेश्वर पुत्र, प्रभु यीशु मसीह के बलिदान में सहायता किस प्रकार से कर सकते हैं? इफिसियों 2:1-9 और तीतुस 3:5 इस धारणा को पूर्णतः नकार देते हैं कि मनुष्य के उद्धार में किसी भी प्रकार के कर्मों की कोई भी भूमिका है; और स्पष्ट कर देते हैं कि उद्धार केवल परमेश्वर के अनुग्रह के द्वारा, कलवरी के क्रूस पर प्रभु यीशु द्वारा पूर्ण किये गए कार्य में विश्वास करने से ही है; उसमें किसी भी प्रकार से मनुष्य द्वारा कुछ भी जोड़ने का कोई स्थान नहीं है।

    एक अन्य बहुत आम देखे जाने वाला बिगाड़ वह है जिसका आरम्भिक कलीसिया को सामना करना पड़ा था और जिसके साथ काफी संघर्ष भी हुआ था कि उद्धार पाने के लिए अन्य-जातियों से आए हुए लोगों को खतना करवाना और व्यवस्था का पालन करना आवश्यक है (प्रेरितों 15:1, 5); किन्तु इस बात पर बहुत विचार और वाद-विवाद के बाद यरूशलेम में कलीसिया के अगुवों ने यह स्पष्ट कर दिया कि ऐसी कोई आज्ञा कहीं पर भी नहीं दी गई है, और ऐसा करने की कोई आवश्यकता भी नहीं है (प्रेरितों 15:24)। यह भी एक और तरीका है, इस बात को कहने का कि प्रभु यीशु का बलिदान अपर्याप्त है और पापों से निवारण के लिए उसमें कुछ और जोड़े जाने की आवश्यकता है – जो यहाँ पर ख़तना और व्यवस्था का पालन थे। प्रेरितों 15:7-10 में दिए गए पतरस के प्रत्युत्तर ने यरूशलेम की सभा के लिए समस्या का समाधान स्थापित कर दिया; पतरस ने कहा कि जब व्यवस्था और ख़तना अभी तक किसी को भी धर्मी नहीं बना सके थे, तो फिर उनके द्वारा प्रभु के बलिदान में सहायता कैसे हो सकती है? पौलुस ने भी गलतियों 5:1-6 में व्यवस्था के पालन तथा ख़तना करने की अनिवार्यता का विरोध किया, और बताया कि प्रभु यीशु ने व्यवस्था को पूरा करने के द्वारा उसे क्रूस पर ठोक दिया है और मसीही विश्वासियों के लिए अलग हटा दिया है, और उनके लिए ख़तना बन गया है (कुलुस्सियों 2:11-14)। आज हमारे समय में सुसमाचार में यह बिगाड़ सामान्यतः दी जाने वाली इस शिक्षा के द्वारा किया जाता है कि कलीसिया या डिनॉमिनेशन की धार्मिक रीतियों, परम्पराओं, और आज्ञाओं का पालन करना उद्धार के लिए अनिवार्य है। इसके पीछे का तर्क वही है जो उस समय “मूसा की व्यवस्था” के लिए दिया जाता था, और आज उसी तर्क को “कलीसिया या डिनॉमिनेशन की व्यवस्था” के पालन के लिए दिया जाता है। यह एक प्रकार की गलत शिक्षा और झूठा सिद्धान्त है जो “कर्मों द्वारा उद्धार” पर आधारित है, जिसके मिथ्या होने को हम ऊपर देख चुके हैं।

    अगले लेख में हम सुसमाचार में किये जाने वाले कुछ और बिगाड़ों, अर्थात सुसमाचार में डाले जाने वाले बदलावों और परिवर्तनों  को देखेंगे, जिन्हें बिना जाँचे-समझे-बूझे यूँ ही बातों को मान लेने वाले लोगों को सिखा दिया जाता है, उन पर थोप दिया जाता है; किन्तु वे बातें बाइबल के अनुसार सही नहीं हैं, व्यर्थ हैं, और उन्हें अस्वीकार कर के उनका तिरस्कार कर देना चाहिए।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Teachings Related to the Gospel – 27

 

    We are learning teachings related to the gospel from the Bible, and in the last article we have seen that the gospel, as stated in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and Galatians 1:4, is the pure gospel, is according to the Scriptures, and is the gospel given by God for salvation of all of mankind. This gospel is effective and applicable across all times, places, persons, circumstances etc., having the power to convict people of their sins and change them. There is no need to supplement it in any way, and nor for any alteration or modification in it, for any reason. We have seen from Galatians 1:4-9 any alteration or modification of the gospel by anyone, be it an angel or an Apostle of the Lord Jesus, is forbidden, has been called perverting it, and those who modify it have been called accursed. Satan relentlessly tries to have people modify or supplement the gospel by using their wisdom and understanding, often to make it sound more attractive and appealing, or more relevant to the situation at hand; but as we have seen from 1 Corinthians 1:17 in the last article, this only renders the gospel ineffective, instead of increasing its effectiveness in any way. Today we will look at some of the satanic ploys through which the gospel is ‘perverted’ and rendered ineffective.

    One, we have already seen in the last article and has been mentioned above, i.e., adding thoughts of human wisdom and understanding to the gospel (1 Corinthians 1:17) to make it sound more attractive and appealing, or more relevant to the situation at hand. But by doing this, it also simultaneously becomes ineffective.

    Another satanic ploy to pervert the gospel is to either base it upon good and religious works, i.e., to be good and do good, and follow religious instructions, and thereby make oneself acceptable to the Lord, and then approach Him for being saved. The unspoken, hidden pitfall here is that God’s Word clearly says that man, through his works of any kind, can never be good enough to become acceptable to God (Job 14:4; 15:14-16; 25:4; Isaiah 64:6); and therefore, those go by this line of thought will never be able to become acceptable to God for being considered for salvation, and will die in their sins. A variant of this perversion is adding the necessity of doing good or religious works along with coming to faith in the Lord Jesus. This implies that the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus was insufficient to atone for the sins of mankind, and it has to be supplemented by good and religious works done by man, for salvation to be achieved. As we have just seen, since man can never be good enough through any works of any kind to be acceptable to God for being saved, how then can any of man’s works supplement the sacrifice of the God the Son, the Lord Jesus for the salvation of man? Ephesians 2:1-9 and Titus 3:5 absolutely negate the role of any kind of works in the salvation of man; stating that salvation is purely and only by the grace of God, through faith in the accomplished work of the Lord on the Cross of Calvary, without any kind of human supplementations added to the Lord’s work.

    Another very common perversion, which the initial Church had to face and struggle against was the teaching that the gentiles had to be circumcised and obey the Law also, to be saved (Acts 15:1, 5); but the Elders in Jerusalem, after debating the matter, made it clear that this was not commanded, and there was no need to do this (Acts 15:24). This is another way of saying that the Lord’s sacrifice by itself is insufficient atonement, and has to be supplemented by something more – here circumcision and obeying the Law. Peter’s response in Acts 15:7-10, settled the matter for the Council in Jerusalem; he said that since the Law and circumcision could never make anyone righteous till now, so how can they be a necessary supplement to complete the atoning work of the Lord? Paul too argued against the necessity of keeping the Law and circumcision in Galatians 5:1-6; and stated that the Lord Jesus by fulfilling the Law, has nailed it to the Cross and has taken it out of the way for the Christian Believers, and He has become their circumcision (Colossians 2:11-14). This perversion is seen in our times in the form of the commonly held teaching of the necessity of fulfilling religious creeds, rites and rituals of the church or denomination for salvation. The basic argument remains the same, only, what was the “Law of Moses” for the Jews then, has been replaced by the “Law of the church or of the denomination” now. This is another form of the false teaching and wrong doctrine of “salvation by works,” and we have seen its fallacy above.

    In the next article we will consider a few more perversions, i.e., alterations and modifications of the gospel, that are commonly seen and imposed upon the gullible people, but those things are unBiblical, vain, and must be rejected and discarded.

    If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
