पिछले कुछ लेखों में, हम परमेश्वर के वचन अर्थात बाइबल से यह समझने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं कि मनुष्य अपनी ही शक्ति और क्षमताओं के द्वारा शैतान का सामना करने और उसे पराजित करने में क्यों असमर्थ है। अब तक हमने जो बातें सीखी हैं, वे हैं:

    परमेश्वर का प्रत्येक वचन और जो कुछ वह कहता है, वह स्वर्ग में सदा के लिए स्थापित है (भजन 119:89)। समय के संदर्भ में परमेश्वर स्वयं को पुराने और नए, दोनों नियमों में, वर्तमान काल में “मैं जो हूँ सो हूँ” कहकर संबोधित करता है (निर्गमन 3:14; यूहन्ना 8:58)। इसका तात्पर्य है कि परमेश्वर समय के बंधन में नहीं है, और वह सदा एक-सा रहता है, कभी नहीं बदलता (इब्रानियों 1:12; इब्रानियों 13:8; प्रकाशितवाक्य 1:8; भजन 102:27; मलाकी 3:6)। वह सर्वज्ञानी परमेश्वर है, जो आरंभ से अंत तक सब कुछ जानता है, और उसे हर बात के बारे में हमेशा ही सब कुछ पता रहता है (यशायाह 46:10)। जो कुछ वह कहता है, वह अवश्य ही होता है; परमेश्वर कभी कोई भूल नहीं करता, और न ही उसे अपने किसी निर्णय (विचार या इच्छा नहीं – ले लिए गए निर्णय) को संशोधित या बदलने की आवश्यकता पड़ती है जैसा कि हम गिनती 23:19; यशायाह 31:2; यशायाह 46:11; यिर्मयाह 4:28 आदि पदों से समझ सकते हैं। जो कुछ उसने किसी को दिया है, उसने वह सभी संभावनाओं, अपनी योजनाओं, और भविष्य की बातों को जानते हुए, सोच-समझकर, एक विशेष उद्देश्य के साथ दिया है; उसके लिए कोई भी बात कभी भी आकस्मिक नहीं होती है, और न ही वह कभी भी अचंभित होता है। इसलिए, परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई योग्यताएँ, अधिकार, और वरदान अपरिवर्तनीय और अटल हैं; वह उन्हें कभी वापस नहीं लेता (रोमियों 11:29; भजन 89:34)।

    मनुष्य अपनी स्वाभाविक, सृजित अवस्था में स्‍वर्गदूतों से कम सामर्थी है (भजन 103:20; 2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 1:7; 2 पतरस 2:11); और सृजित प्राणियों की श्रेणी में स्‍वर्गदूतों से नीचे है (इब्रानियों 2:6–10)। उद्धार के बाद, उद्धार पाया हुआ व्यक्ति परमेश्वर की संतान बन जाता है (यूहन्ना 1:12–13), और पृथ्वी पर रहते हुए उसे पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा निरंतर, धीरे-धीरे, प्रभु यीशु के स्वरूप में बदला जाता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18), और अंततः परमेश्वर का वारिस तथा मसीह के साथ सह-वारिस बनता है (रोमियों 8:17)। इसलिए, उद्धार पाए हुए व्यक्ति की स्थिति भी स्‍वर्गदूतों से ऊँची हो जाती है, और वे स्वर्गदूत उसके सेवक आत्माएँ बन जाते हैं (इब्रानियों 1:14)।

    साथ ही, उद्धार पाते ही, उद्धार पाए हुए व्यक्ति की देह परमेश्वर पवित्र आत्मा का मन्दिर बन जाती है (1 कुरिन्थियों 3:16; 6:19), और वह उनका सहायक और शिक्षक होकर उनमें आकर निवास करने लगता है (यूहन्ना 14:16, 26; इफिसियों 1:13-14)। परन्तु जो लोग केवल अपनी मानवीय समझ, बुद्धि, और ज्ञान के सहारे परमेश्वर के वचन को सीखने, समझने, और उसका निर्वाह करने का प्रयास करते हैं, वास्तव में ऐसा करने में असमर्थ होते हैं, क्योंकि परमेश्वर का वचन, पवित्र आत्मा के द्वारा ही सिखाया जाता है (यूहन्ना 14:26; 1 कुरिन्थियों 2:10–15)।  साथ ही, उद्धार न पाए हुए, पुनर्जन्म न हुए लोगों के हृदयों पर एक परदा पड़ा रहता है। यह परदा केवल तब हटता है जब कोई व्यक्ति पश्चाताप में प्रभु की ओर फिरता है (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:14–16) और परमेश्वर की सन्तान बनकर पवित्र आत्मा से सीखना आरम्भ करता है।

    ऊपर देखी गई बातों के संदर्भ में, आइए अब शैतान, उसके दुष्टात्माओं और उनकी कार्यविधि के विषय में कुछ बाइबल के तथ्यों को देखते हैं।

    शैतान को मूल रूप से मुख्य प्रधान स्वर्गदूत लूसिफर के रूप में सृजा गया था, और वह परमेश्वर के बाद दूसरा सबसे शक्तिशाली और बुद्धिमान प्राणी था (यशायाह 14:12–15; यहेजकेल 28:12–17)। इससे उसमें अहंकार आया, और वह स्वयं को परमेश्वर से ऊपर उठाना चाहने लगा। इस पाप में गिरने के कारण, उसे और उसके स्वर्गदूत अनुयायियों को स्वर्ग से निकाल दिया गया, और वे शैतान और उसके दुष्टात्माएँ बन गए। परमेश्वर के वरदानों के अपरिवर्तनीय होने के सिद्धांत के अनुसार, उनके पतन और स्वर्ग से निकाले जाने के बाद भी, शैतान और उसके दुष्टात्माओं से उनकी शक्तियाँ, उच्च समझ-बूझ और बुद्धि, और यहाँ तक कि परमेश्वर से बातचीत करने का विशेषाधिकार भी वापस नहीं लिया गया (अय्यूब 1:6–7, 12; 2:1–6)।

    शैतान और उसकी दुष्टात्माएँ इन्हीं शक्तियों का उपयोग परमेश्वर के लोगों और परमेश्वर के उद्देश्यों के विरुद्ध काम करने के लिए करते हैं। इसके लिये वे बड़े-बड़े चमत्कारिक चिन्ह दिखाते हैं (2 थिस्सलुनीकियों 2:9–10; प्रकाशितवाक्य 13:13–15), जिनके द्वारा वे संसार को धोखा देते हैं, और अक्सर अपने आप को झूठे प्रेरित, मसीह के सेवक, और ज्योति के स्वर्गदूत के रूप में प्रस्तुत करते हैं (2 कुरिन्थियों 11:3, 13–15)। शैतान, जो “झूठ का पिता” है (यूहन्ना 8:44), इस स्थिति का लाभ उठाकर लोगों को व्यर्थ कार्यों में फँसा देता है, और उन्हें उनके अपने कामों की स्व-धार्मिकता में विश्वास करने के लिए प्रेरित करता है—इस शैतानी भ्रम में बनाए रखता है कि वे अपने धर्म, धार्मिक कार्यों, भलाई और अन्य ऐसे कामों के द्वारा भले, नैतिक, धर्मी, और परमेश्वर को स्वीकार्य हो सकते हैं। इस प्रकार शैतान प्रभावी रूप से लोगों की बुद्धि को अंधा कर देता है, ताकि सुसमाचार की ज्योति उन पर चमक न सके (2 कुरिन्थियों 4:4–6)।

    अगले लेख में हम इसी विषय को ज़ारी रखेंगे, तथा अन्य सम्बन्धित बातों के बारे में देखेंगे।

    यदि आपने प्रभु की शिष्यता को अभी तक स्वीकार नहीं किया है, तो अपने अनन्त जीवन और स्वर्गीय आशीषों को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अभी प्रभु यीशु के पक्ष में अपना निर्णय कर लीजिए। जहाँ प्रभु की आज्ञाकारिता है, उसके वचन की बातों का आदर और पालन है, वहाँ प्रभु की आशीष और सुरक्षा भी है। स्वेच्छा से अपने पापों से पश्चाताप करके, प्रभु यीशु से अपने पापों के लिए क्षमा माँगकर, स्वेच्छा से तथा सच्चे मन से अपने आप को उसकी अधीनता में समर्पित कर दीजिए - उद्धार और स्वर्गीय जीवन का यही एकमात्र मार्ग है। आपको स्वेच्छा और सच्चे मन से प्रभु यीशु मसीह से केवल एक छोटी प्रार्थना करनी है, और साथ ही अपना जीवन उसे पूर्णतः समर्पित करना है। आप यह प्रार्थना और समर्पण कुछ इस प्रकार से भी कर सकते हैं, “प्रभु यीशु, मैं अपने पापों के लिए पश्चातापी हूँ, उनके लिए आप से क्षमा माँगता हूँ। मैं आपका धन्यवाद करता हूँ कि आपने मेरे पापों की क्षमा और समाधान के लिए उन पापों को अपने ऊपर लिया, उनके कारण मेरे स्थान पर क्रूस की मृत्यु सही, गाड़े गए, और मेरे उद्धार के लिए आप तीसरे दिन जी भी उठे, और आज जीवित प्रभु परमेश्वर हैं। कृपया मुझे और मेरे पापों को क्षमा करें, मुझे अपनी शरण में लें, और मुझे अपना शिष्य बना लें। मैं अपना जीवन आप के हाथों में समर्पित करता हूँ।” सच्चे और समर्पित मन से की गई आपकी एक प्रार्थना आपके वर्तमान तथा भविष्य को, इस लोक के और परलोक के जीवन को, अनन्तकाल के लिए स्वर्गीय एवं आशीषित बना देगी।

Man, on his own, is Incapable of Overcoming Satan - 8

 
    In the previous few articles, we have been trying to understand from God’s Word the Bible why man, through his own power and abilities, is incapable of facing and overcoming Satan. The things we have learnt so far are:

Every Word of God and everything He says is eternally established in heaven (Psalm 119:89). God, in context of time refers to Himself in the present tense, as 'I Am Who I Am' in the Old as well as the New Testament (Exodus 3:14; John 8:58). Implying that God is not bound by time, He is immutable, never changing, and is always the same (Hebrews 1:12; Hebrews 13:8; Revelation 1:8; Psalm 102:27; Malachi 3:6). He is the omniscient God who knows the end from the beginning, and always knows everything about everything (Isaiah 46:10). What He has says, always happens; He never makes any mistakes, He never needs to revise or change any of His decisions (not His thoughts or intentions, but the decisions He has once taken) as we can see from verse like Numbers 23:19; Isaiah 31:2; Isaiah 46:11; Jeremiah 4:28. Whatever He has given to anyone, He has given thoughtfully—knowing all related possibilities, His intentions, and the things of future—with a specific purpose; there is nothing that is unforeseen for Him and neither is He ever taken by surprise. Therefore, the abilities, authority, and gifts given by God are irrevocable; He never takes them back (Romans 11:29; Psalm 89:34).

Man, in his natural created condition, is less powerful than the angels (Psalm 103:20; 2 Thessalonians 1:7; 2 Peter 2:11); and lower than the angels in the hierarchy of created beings (Hebrews 2:6-10). After salvation, the saved person becomes a child of God (John 1:12-13), and while on earth he is continually being transformed, bit by bit, into the likeness of the Lord Jesus by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18), eventually to be an heir of God, and a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17). Therefore, the saved person’s status is also elevated to a status higher than that of the angels, who then become his ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:14).

Also, at the moment of salvation, the body of the saved person becomes the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19), and He starts residing in them as their helper and teacher (John14:16, 26; Ephesians 1:13-14). But those who try to learn, understand, and follow God's Word through their own human abilities, intellect, and wisdom, are actually unable to do so, since God’s Word is only learnt through the Holy Spirit (John14:26; 1 Corinthians 2:10–15). Moreover, there is a veil over the hearts of unsaved, unregenerate people. This veil is only removed when a person turns to the Lord in repentance (2 Corinthians 3:14–16), and, as a child of God, is taught by the Holy Spirit.

In context of what we have seen above, let us consider some Biblical facts about Satan and his demons, and their modus operandi.

Satan was originally created as the chief archangel, Lucifer, and he was the most powerful and wise being created, second only to God (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-17). This created pride in him, and he wanted to exalt himself above God. Due to this fall in sin, he and his angelic followers were cast out of Heaven, became Satan and his demons. Consistent with the principle of God’s gifts being irrevocable, even their fall and expulsion from heaven, their powers, the great wisdom, and even the privilege of conversing with God (Job 1:6-7, 12; 2:1-6) were not taken away from Satan and his demons.

They now use this power to work against God's people and purposes, to perform great miraculous signs (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10; Revelation 13:13-15) through which they deceive the world, often presenting themselves as false apostles, ministers of Christ, and an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:3,13-15). Satan, the "father of lies" (John 8:44), exploits this situation, to trap people into vain works, by making them believe in their self-righteousness through works. The satanic forces keep people caught up in the devious deception that they can be good, moral, righteous, and acceptable to God through their religion, religious works, goodness, and other such works. Thereby, Satan effectively blinds people’s minds so that the light of the Gospel cannot shine upon them (2 Corinthians 4:4-6).
    In the next article, we'll look at some other related things, and then consider their practical application and implications.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

(i) परमेश्वर की हर बात, उसका हर वचन अपरिवर्तनीय हैं, अपरिवर्तनीय हैं, (इब्रानियों 1:12; 13:8; प्रकाशितवाक्य 1:8; भजन 102:27; मलाकी 3:6), उसके द्वारा दिए गए अधिकार और वरदान अटल हैं, और वह उन्हें कभी वापस नहीं लेता है (रोमियों 11:29; भजन 89:34)। परमेश्वर अपने लिए कहता है “मैं जो हूँ सो हूँ” (निर्गमन 3:14); तथा हर समय और काल के संदर्भ में वह अपने आप को वर्तमान काल में, “मैं हूँ” अर्थात न भूत काल और न भविष्य काल वरन केवल वर्तमान ही कहता है (यूहन्ना 8:58); अर्थात, परमेश्वर समय की सीमा से बंधा हुआ नहीं है, आदि से ही अंत को जानता है, सब कुछ के बारे में सब कुछ जानता है (यशायाह 46:10)। इसलिए उसने जिसे भी जो भी दिया है वह सोच समझ कर, सभी संभावनाओं, अभिप्रायों, और घटित होने वाली घटनाओं को जानते हुए, किसी न किसी उद्देश्य के साथ दिया है। उसने जो एक बार कह दिया, वह उसे पूरा भी करता है (गिनती 23:19)। क्योंकि वह कभी भी कोई भी गलती नहीं करता है, इसलिए उसे अपने किसी भी निर्णय में संशोधन करने या उसे बदलने की कभी कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है।

(ii) सृष्टि के आरम्भ से ही, अपनी रचना में ही मनुष्य स्वाभाविक रीति से स्‍वर्गदूतों से कम सामर्थी है (भजन 103:20; 2 थिस्स्लुनीकियों 1:7; 2 पतरस 2:11)। अर्थात मनुष्य में अपनी किसी सामर्थ्य या योग्यता से किसी भी स्वर्गदूत से बढ़कर होने अथवा कुछ भी कर पाने की क्षमता नहीं है। यह मनुष्य का परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित स्तर है, और मनुष्य अपने आप से इसे बदल नहीं सकता है, केवल इसका निर्वाह ही कर सकता है।

  

(iii) सृष्टि के वरीयता क्रम में मनुष्य स्वाभाविक रीति से स्‍वर्गदूतों से निचले क्रम का है (इब्रानियों 2:6-10)। उद्धार पाने के बाद, परमेश्वर के आज्ञाकारी स्‍वर्गदूतों के संदर्भ में, उसका यह क्रम, बदल दिया जाता है (इब्रानियों 1:14)। उसके परमेश्वर की संतान हो जाने (यूहन्ना 1:12-13), और अंश अंश करके प्रभु की समानता में परिवर्तित होते चले जाने (2 कुरिन्थियों 3:18), और उसके परमेश्वर का वारिस तथा मसीह का संगी वारिस (रोमियों 8:17) हो जाने के कारण, उद्धार पाए हुए व्यक्ति को परमेश्वर के आज्ञाकारी स्‍वर्गदूतों से उच्च स्तर का कर दिया जाता है।

 

किन्तु शैतान, उसके दूत, उसकी दुष्टात्माएं क्योंकि परमेश्वर के अनाज्ञाकारी हैं इसलिए वे परमेश्वर की उद्धार पाई हुई सन्तानों के भी अनाज्ञाकारी रहते हैं। जिस प्रकार से वे परमेश्वर के स्तर को स्वीकार नहीं करते हैं, उसी प्रकार से वे उद्धार पाए हुए मनुष्य के परमेश्वर की सन्तान होने के स्तर को भी स्वीकार नहीं करते हैं। बल्कि वे उद्धार पाए हुए मनुष्य पर हावी रह कर उसे गिराने के प्रयासों में लगे रहते हैं (1 पतरस 5:8)। और क्योंकि उद्धार पाया हुआ मनुष्य, इस पृथ्वी के अपने जीवन काल में, परिवर्तित होते चले जाने की ज़ारी क्रिया में है, अर्थात, उसे अभी तक वह स्वर्गीय सिद्धता प्राप्त नहीं हुई है, इसीलिये, उद्धार पाया हुआ व्यक्ति भी अपने आप में, अपनी सामर्थ्य से, शैतानी शक्तियों पर परमेश्वर की सहायता के बिना विजयी नहीं हो सकता है।

अगले लेख में हम इन निष्कर्षों को अन्य बातों के साथ मिलाकर इनके व्यावहारिक अर्थ और अभिप्राय को देखेंगे। इनके द्वारा हम देखेंगे और समझेंगे कि मनुष्यों के शैतान का सामना करने में असमर्थ होने और पाप में गिरते रहने पर भी, क्यों परमेश्वर द्वारा प्रेरितों 17:30 में स्वाभाविक अपरिवर्तित मनुष्य द्वारा पाप करने को “अज्ञानता के समय” की बात कहकर उसे दण्ड देने में आनाकानी करता है, पश्चाताप करने के लिए कहता है, और अपने अनुग्रह में उसे पापों का दण्ड पाने से बचने का अवसर देता है।

किन्तु अभी के लिए हमें अपने जीवनों में झांक कर देखना आवश्यक है कि क्या हम परमेश्वर द्वारा दिए गए इस अवसर का, उसके आनाकानी करने का, सदुपयोग कर रहे हैं कि नहीं? क्या हमने अपने पापों के लिए पश्चाताप करके, अपना जीवन उसे सच्चे मन से समर्पित किया है कि नहीं? या हम अभी भी अपने धर्म, परिवार, जन्म से धार्मिक अनुष्ठानों तथा रीति-रिवाजों के पालन करने वाले होने, अपने धर्म-गुरुओं और अगुवों के चलाए चलने वाले होने, आदि व्यर्थ और निष्फल बातों के द्वारा ही परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में भले और धर्मी, तथा उसे स्वीकार्य होने, उसके साथ स्वर्ग में प्रवेश करने वाले समझे बैठे हैं, शैतान के धोखे से अपने अनन्त जीवन के विषय निश्चिंत हो गए हैं? आज, अभी, समय और अवसर रहते हुए पापों से पश्चाताप करके अपना जीवन प्रभु यीशु मसीह को समर्पित कर दें, उससे पापों के लिए क्षमा माँग लें, परमेश्वर की संतान बन जाएं। बाद में कहीं बहुत देर न हो जाए।

Man, on his own, is Incapable of Overcoming Satan - 7

Over the previous few articles we have been trying to understand from God’s Word the Bible, through three things, why man, through his own power and abilities, is incapable of facing and overcoming Satan. Having Biblically considered and analyzed, we now have before us the Biblical facts and results of these three things. Today we will summarize and put together what we have learnt so far; and in the next article we will go on to their practical application in our topic of Law and Salvation. The three things and what we have learnt about them are:

(i) Every Word of God and everything He says is immutable, unchangeable (Hebrews 1:12; 13:8; Revelation 1:8; Psalm 102:27; Malachi 3:6); the authority and gifts bestowed by Him are irrevocable, and He never takes them back (Romans 11:29; Psalm 89:34). God says of Himself, 'I AM WHO I AM' (Exodus 3:14); and in the context of all time and eras, He refers to Himself in the present tense, 'I AM'—that is, neither in the past nor the future, but only in the present (John 8:58). This means God is not bound by the limits of time; He knows the end from the beginning and knows everything about everything (Isaiah 46:10). Therefore, whatever He has given to anyone, He has given thoughtfully—knowing all possibilities, intentions, and future events—with a specific purpose. What He has spoken once, He also fulfills (Numbers 23:19). Because He never makes any mistake, He never has any need to revise or change any of His decisions.

(ii) Man, in his natural condition, in his creation, is less powerful than the angels (Psalm 103:20; 2 Thessalonians 1:7; 2 Peter 2:11). In other words, man has no power or ability to be better, or be more powerful than the angels, in any manner, in anything. This is the God given status of man, and man can never change it on his own, he can only obey it.

(iii) Human beings, in their natural state, are lower than the angels in the hierarchy of created beings (Hebrews 2:6-10). After he is saved, this order changes for the saved person (Hebrews 1:14). Because a saved person becomes a child of God (John 1:12-13), and he is continually being transformed, bit by bit, into the likeness of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18), to be an heir of God, a co-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17), therefore, the saved person’s status is also elevated to a status higher than angels. 

But Satan, his angels, his demons, since they are all disobedient to God, similarly they remain disobedient to even the saved children of God. Just as they do not accept the status of God, they also do not accept the status of the saved man, as a child of God. Rather, they are always trying to overpower the saved man and make him fall (1 Peter 5:8). Since the saved person, on earth is still “under transformation,” i.e., has not yet attained the ultimate heavenly perfection, therefore even the saved person, on his own, by his own strength, is incapable of being victorious over the satanic forces without God’s help.

In the next article, we'll look at the practical application and implications of these conclusions, by also considering them along with some other things. Through these we will see and understand why although humans are unable to face Satan, while they continue to fall in sin time and again, yet God calls this tendency of the unregenerate man to commit sin as something done in "times of ignorance" (Acts 17:30), and is reluctant to punish him for it; rather, asking him to repent of his sins and graciously gives him the opportunity to be saved, escape from being punished for sins.

But for now, we need to look into our lives and see whether we are making good use of this opportunity given to us by God, or, are we ignoring Him and His benevolence? Have we sincerely committed our lives to Him, repenting of our sins or not? Or, have we fallen for Satan's deceit, and we are still assuming of being good and righteous in the eyes of God through vain and ineffective things like our religion, family, our following and fulfilling religious rituals and customs since our birth, by our being obedient to our religious leaders, etc. and falsely believe that because of following these we will be considered acceptable to God, worthy of entering heaven with Him? Today, now, while having the time and opportunity to repent of sins, make the right decision, repent of your sins, submit your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, ask Him for forgiveness of sins, become a child of God. It may be too late afterwards.

If you have not yet accepted the discipleship of the Lord, make your decision in favor of the Lord Jesus now to ensure your eternal life and heavenly blessings. Where there is obedience to the Lord, where there is respect and obedience to His Word, there is also the blessing and protection of the Lord. Repenting of your sins, and asking the Lord Jesus for forgiveness of your sins, voluntarily and sincerely, surrendering yourself to Him - is the only way to salvation and heavenly life. You only have to say a short but sincere prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ willingly and with a penitent heart, and at the same time completely commit and submit your life to Him. You can also make this prayer and submission in words something like, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins and repent of them. I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.

पिछले लेख में हमने, यह समझने के लिये कि क्यों मनुष्य अपने किसी भी प्रयास से, बिना परमेश्वर की सहायता के, अपने आप से, कभी भी शैतान पर जयवन्त नहीं हो सकता है, कुछ सम्बन्धित बातों को देखना आरम्भ किया था। ये सम्बन्धित बातें हैं:

(i) परमेश्वर और उसकी बातें सर्वदा अपरिवर्तनीय तथा अटल और सर्वदा लागू रहती हैं; परमेश्वर जब किसी को कुछ उपहार या वरदान देता है, तो फिर उसे वापस कभी नहीं लेता है। 

(ii) मनुष्यों की तुलना में स्‍वर्गदूतों के कुछ गुण;

(iii) मनुष्य और स्‍वर्गदूतों का तुलनात्मक स्तर या स्थान।  

 

और फिर हम ने इनमें से पहली बात, परमेश्वर और उसका वचन और बातें हमेशा ही अटल तथा अपरिवर्तनीय हैं को देखना आरंभ किया था। परमेश्वर ने जो जिसे दे दिया, वह उसे कभी वापस नहीं लेता है, उसका दिया हुआ अटल और अपरिवर्तनीय (रोमियों 11:29)। यदि अटल और अपरिवर्तनीय नहीं होगा, तो फिर उसका तात्पर्य होगा कि परमेश्वर गलती कर सकता है, भविष्य की बातों से अनभिज्ञ है; जो कि परमेश्वर के मौलिक गुणों को ही नकारना है। 

आज हम परमेश्वर के वचन बाइबल में से इस तथ्य के कुछ उदाहरण देखेंगे:

• सृष्टि के समय परमेश्वर ने आदम और हव्वा को सारी पृथ्वी और सभी जीव-जंतुओं पर अधिकार दिया था (उत्पत्ति 1:27-30)। बाद में मनुष्य की सुविधा के लिए परमेश्वर ने उसे खाने के लिए उत्तम फलों वाले वृक्षों की अदन की वाटिका लगा कर दी (उत्पत्ति 2:8-9)। पाप करने के कारण मनुष्य अदन की वाटिका से बाहर निकाला गया, किन्तु न तो उससे पृथ्वी और उसके जीव-जंतुओं पर अधिकार रखना वापस लिया गया, और न ही उसे पृथ्वी पर से हटाया गया; बल्कि नूह के समय की जल-प्रलय के बाद, परमेश्वर द्वारा उसे दिये गये इस अधिकार की पुनःपुष्टि की गई (उत्पत्ति 9:2)। आज भी, सामान्यतः सभी जीव-जन्तु, मनुष्यों का कुछ भय रखते हैं, तुरंत ही मनुष्यों के सामने नहीं आते हैं, उनसे कतरा कर निकलते हैं।

• जब अब्राहम और सारा को उनकी शारीरिक आयु की दशा के बावजूद संतान उत्पन्न करने की सामर्थ्य दी (इब्रानियों 11:11-12), तो उसके बाद उन से यह क्षमता वापस नहीं ली। और इसीलिए बाद में अब्राहम और विवाह कर सका, रखेलियाँ भी रख सका, और उनसे बहुतेरी संतानें भी उत्पन्न कर सका (उत्पत्ति 25:1-6)। 

• इस्राएल का पहला राजा शाऊल परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्धारित और नियुक्त करवाया गया था। जब वह राजा होने के लिए अयोग्य हो गया (1 शमूएल 15:26), तब भी उसकी मृत्यु तक इस्राएल का राज्य उससे नहीं लिया गया। उसके राज्य-काल में परमेश्वर का अभिषिक्त दाऊद बहुत दुख उठाता हुआ, और उससे अपनी जान बचाता हुआ सारे देश में भागता फिरा। दो बार दाऊद के पास अवसर आया कि वह शाऊल को मार डाले, किन्तु उसके साथियों के उकसाने के बावजूद, उसका मार्गदर्शन करने वाले परमेश्वर के आत्मा ने दाऊद को शाऊल को मारने से रोके रखा (1 शमूएल 24:1-7; 26:5-11)। जब परमेश्वर की ओर से शाऊल का जीवन काल समाप्त हुआ, तब ही दाऊद राजा बना, उससे पहले नहीं। 

• यहूदियों को मिस्र में 430 वर्ष की गुलामी सहनी थी; वे ठीक उसी दिन मिस्र निकलकर आए जब यह समय पूरा हुआ (निर्गमन 12:40-41)। इससे पहले जब मूसा ने उन्हें छुड़ाने का प्रयास किया था तो असफल रहा, किन्तु समय पूरा होने पर मूसा ही उन्हें निकाल कर ले गया।

• हारून ने बछड़ा बना कर इस्राएलियों को मूर्ति-पूजा में डाला (निर्गमन 32 अध्याय) और परमेश्वर उससे क्रोधित हुआ; किन्तु उसके अभिषिक्त महायाजक होने का आदर उससे वापस कभी नहीं लिया गया (लैव्यव्यवस्था 8:1-9)। 

• मूसा की अनाज्ञाकारिता के कारण उसे कनान में प्रवेश नहीं करने दिया गया (गिनती 27:12-14; व्यवस्थाविवरण 3:23-26), किन्तु कनान की सीमा तक इस्राएलियों की अगुवाई करने का अधिकार उसी के पास रहा। यहोशू को यह अधिकार मूसा के अंत समय में ही दिया गया (व्यवस्थाविवरण 3:28)। 

• गदरेनियों के क्षेत्र में रहने वाले मनुष्यों में से जब प्रभु यीशु ने दुष्टात्माओं को निकाला, तो उन्होंने उनके समय से पहले न सताए जाने की दुहाई दी (मत्ती 8:28-29)। अर्थात अनन्त दुःख के स्थान में जाने का जो उनका निर्धारित समय था, उससे पहले वे वहाँ नहीं भेजी जा सकती थीं; और प्रभु ने इसे नहीं बदला। 

• पाप के कारण गिराए जाने और शैतान बन जाने से पहले लूसिफर प्रधान स्वर्गदूत था, परमेश्वर के बाद वही सबसे सामर्थी था (यशायाह 14:12-15; यहेजकेल 28:12-17)। उसके स्वर्ग से निकाले जाने के बाद भी न तो उसका स्वर्ग में जाकर परमेश्वर के साथ वार्तालाप करने का विशेषाधिकार वापस लिया गया (अय्यूब 1:6-7, 12; 2:1-6), और न उससे उसकी सामर्थ्य वापस ली गई; वह अपनी इसी सामर्थ्य के द्वारा परमेश्वर और उसके लोगों के विरुद्ध कार्य करता रहता है। 

• लूसिफर सबसे प्रधान स्वर्गदूत था, वरीयता में अन्य सभी स्वर्गदूत उससे कम स्तर के थे। उसके निकाले और गिराए जाने के बाद भी, परमेश्वर का प्रधान स्वर्गदूत मीकाईल उससे वाद-विवाद नहीं कर सका, उसे सीधे से डाँट नहीं सका, उसका निरादर नहीं कर सका; वरन यही कहा “प्रभु तुझे डांटे” (यहूदा 1:9), क्योंकि मीकाईल वरीयता में लूसिफर से कम था और लूसिफर के ऊपर केवल परमेश्वर था। 

• परमेश्वर का दिया गया उद्धार सदा काल का है (इब्रानियों 5:9)। परमेश्वर एक बार जिसे उद्धार दे देता है, जिसे अपनी संतान बना लेता है, उससे अपना उद्धार वापस कभी नहीं लेता। अनाज्ञाकारिता और पाप के कारण उद्धार पाया हुआ व्यक्ति ताड़ना में आएगा, प्रतिफल खोएगा, आशीषों से वंचित हो जाएगा, लेकिन उसका उद्धार कभी नहीं जाएगा। 

 

इस लेख के आरम्भ में दी गई तीन बातों में से शेष दोनों बातों को हम आने वाले लेखों में देखेंगे। किन्तु अभी के लिए हमें, विशेषकर मसीही विश्वासियों को बहुत गंभीरता के साथ अपने जीवनों में झाँककर देखना है, विचार करना है कि हम परमेश्वर द्वारा दी गई सुविधाओं, बातों, उद्धार, और वरदानों का कैसे उपयोग कर रहे हैं? क्या हम उनके प्रति सजग हैं, और परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए उनका प्रयोग कर रहे हैं? क्या हम अपने जीवनों से, उसकी दी हुई आशीषों को, संसार के लोगों पर प्रकट कर रहे हैं? यह अवलोकन करना और सुधारना अनिवार्य है, क्योंकि हमसे इन सभी बातों का हिसाब अवश्य ही लिया जाएगा; कोई भी हिसाब दिए बिना नहीं बचेगा (2 कुरिन्थियों 5:10)। इसलिए अभी, जब तक हमारे पास समय और अवसर है, इस बात के विषय अपने दृष्टिकोण और व्यवहार को सही कर लेने, और परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में चलने में ही भलाई और आशीष है, इसी में शैतान और उसकी युक्तियों से हमारी सुरक्षा है।

Man, on his own, is Incapable of Overcoming Satan - 4

In the previous article we had seen that to understand why man can never ever overcome Satan on his own, without the help of God, we need to consider some other related things. These related things are:

(i) God and His Word are eternally unchanging, unalterable, firmly established and applicable; what He grants always remains irrevocable and in effect;

(ii) Some characteristics of angels, in comparison to humans;

(iii) The comparative level or status of humans and angels.

Then we had begun to look at the first of these, God and His Word and things that He grants are always irrevocable, unchangeable, and firmly established. Whatever God has given to anyone, He never takes it back, what He has given remains irrevocable and unchanging (Romans 11:29). If it is not irrevocable and unchanging, then it means that God can make a mistake, is unaware of the future things; which amounts to denying the very basic attributes of God. 

Today, from God’s Word the Bible, we will look at some examples of this fact:

• At the time of creation, God gave Adam and Eve authority over the whole earth and all living things (Genesis 1:27-30). Later, for the convenience of man, God planted for him the Garden of Eden with trees good for food (Genesis 2:8-9). Man was cast out of the Garden of Eden for sinning, but neither was he taken away from the earth, nor was the authority granted to him over all the earth and its creatures taken away from him; rather this God-given authority was reaffirmed after Noah’s flood (Genesis 9:2). Even today, generally all living creatures exhibit a fear of humans, they do not immediately come in front of humans, but tend to shy away from them.

• When Abraham and Sarah were given the ability to have children long after crossing their physical age of child-bearing (Hebrews 11:11-12), this ability was not taken back from them. Abraham afterwards not only could marry and have concubines, and he also begot many children from them (Genesis 25:1-6).

• The first king of Israel, Saul, was ordained and appointed by God. Even when he became unfit to be king (1 Samuel 15:26), the kingdom of Israel was not taken from him until his death. During his reign, David, the anointed of God, suffered greatly, and kept running all over the country, to save his life from Saul. Twice the opportunity came for David to kill Saul, but despite the provocation of his companions, the Spirit of God who guided him kept David from killing Saul (1 Samuel 24:1-7; 26:5-11). It was only when Saul's lifetime from God came to an end, that David became king, not before.

• The Jews were to endure 430 years of slavery in Egypt. They came out of Egypt on the very day that this time was over (Exodus 12:40-41). Earlier, when Moses tried to rescue them, he was unsuccessful, but when the time was over, it was Moses who took them out.

• Aaron made the Israelites commit idolatry by making a golden calf (Exodus chapter 32) and God was furious with him; But Aaron’s ordination of being the anointed High Priest was never revoked (Leviticus 8:1-9).

• Moses was not allowed to enter Canaan because of his disobedience (Numbers 27:12–14; Deuteronomy 3:23–26). Nevertheless, he retained the authority to lead the Israelites to the border of Canaan. This authority was given to Joshua only at the end of Moses' lifetime (Deuteronomy 3:28).

• When the Lord Jesus cast out demons from the people living in the region of the Gadarenes, the demons pleaded not to be persecuted before their appointed time (Matthew 8:28-29); i.e., they could not be sent before their appointed time into the place of eternal suffering; and the Lord did not change it.

• Lucifer was the archangel, second only to God (the ‘Bright and Morning Star’ in some translations and Lucifer in others), before he was cast down because of sin, and became Satan (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:12-17). Even after his expulsion from heaven, the privilege of going to heaven to converse with God was not taken away from him (Job 1:6-7, 12; 2:1-6), nor have his powers been taken away from him; though he continues to work against God and his people through those very powers even today.

• Lucifer was the superior-most archangel; all the other angels were inferior to him in hierarchy. Even after he was cast out of heaven, Michael the archangel of God could neither disrespectfully argue with him, nor scold him directly, but simply said "Lord rebuke you" (Jude 1:9); because in terms of the original hierarchy Michael was lower than Lucifer, and only God was above Lucifer.

• God given salvation is eternal (Hebrews 5:9). Once God saves a person, He never takes back the salvation from the saved one, whom He accepts as His child. The saved one, because of disobedience and sin will come under chastisement, lose eternal rewards, be deprived of blessings, but will never lose his God given salvation.

 

We'll cover the two reamining points, of the three given at the beginning of this article, in subsequent articles. But for now, we, especially Christians, have to take a very serious look into our lives, and evaluate how we are utilizing the care, facilities, salvation, abilities, and gifts given by God to us? Are we aware of them, and are we using them for the glory of God? Are we demonstrating these God given blessings to the people of the world through our lives? It is necessary to review and rectify this, because we will certainly be called to account for all of these things. No one will escape giving his account for what God has given him (2 Corinthians 5:10). So, while we have the time and opportunity, we will do well to rectify whatever needs to be corrected in our outlook and behavior towards what God has given us; and live a life of obedience to Him for our good, our blessings, and to remain safe from Satan and his devices.

I thank you for taking my sins upon yourself, paying for them through your life.  Because of them you died on the cross in my place, were buried, and you rose again from the grave on the third day for my salvation, and today you are the living Lord God and have freely provided to me the forgiveness, and redemption from my sins, through faith in you. Please forgive my sins, take me under your care, and make me your disciple. I submit my life into your hands." Your one prayer from a sincere and committed heart will make your present and future life, in this world and in the hereafter, heavenly and blessed for eternity.
